[SPEAKER_00]: I remember, by the way, Carla's twenty was this weekend and she did not go.

[SPEAKER_06]: Senate Bill High School and I did not go to that and you went to your thirty if yes this weekend and let me see in a few years I'll be going to my one hundred and fifty.

[SPEAKER_06]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: You just went to your was it your forty if that you went to Italy.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, it was not too long.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're all in the same boat, but it's a long time.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know thirty years is a long time.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I will change dramatically.

[SPEAKER_06]: The class of the nineteen eighty nine James Madison high school and I was responsible for the music as you guys recall I got sort of sort of roped into it, but you know what at the end of it you didn't know you didn't know I was love being the man I was asked to be part of that you're in easy lay I mean you thank you having I mean no it's like rob wood yes

[SPEAKER_04]: But I will say this.

[SPEAKER_04]: It turned out that it was very rewarding because people really enjoyed the music and they came up and they thanked.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was nice.

[SPEAKER_06]: Nice to be a part of your work all night or did you socialize?

[SPEAKER_04]: No, what I was going to tell you what I did is with my music strategy is that I made blocks of music that were about half hour, thirty five minutes long.

[SPEAKER_04]: So about every half hour I went and hit a button and then played.

[SPEAKER_04]: And so when you talked

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe three announcements all night, three or four announcements all night.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_06]: Were they long?

[SPEAKER_06]: Were they lengthy?

[SPEAKER_04]: No, they weren't.

[SPEAKER_04]: They were not lengthy because I was not all into doing that.

[SPEAKER_03]: I wanted to, you know, socially seven, eight, nine, Toyota, Camry.

[SPEAKER_03]: Can you please move your car from the loading down?

[SPEAKER_03]: There was one lost key announced.

[SPEAKER_03]: There was.

[SPEAKER_06]: There was a lost key announced.

[SPEAKER_06]: Let me just see if I've got it right.

[SPEAKER_06]: So if you're doing the announcements, right, I would gather that the later announcements would probably be a little more lengthy than the earlier one.

[SPEAKER_04]: And maybe over the music, maybe not even stopping the music down.

[SPEAKER_04]: But yes, I would say you'd be.

[SPEAKER_06]: You'd talk when maybe the music wasn't in a break.

[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, you know, there was

[SPEAKER_04]: went from seven to midnight.

[SPEAKER_04]: And by ten thirty and no one was dancing yet because really a lot of people wanted to talk and catch up seven midnight.

[SPEAKER_06]: That's a lot of a drinky drinky.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I was there was some coaxing to get people on the dance floor.

[SPEAKER_04]: But the music earlier I was proud of this idea and if you are a disjockey for reunion, I recommend it highly.

[SPEAKER_04]: I did a segment of music for every year we were at school.

[SPEAKER_04]: So our freshman year, this block encompassed the fall of nineteen eighty five to the summer of nineteen eighty six.

[SPEAKER_04]: Number one records an order and this is where the beer helped Mike.

[SPEAKER_04]: I said, what about radio jingles from the year that we were in high school?

[SPEAKER_06]: They must have loved it.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was amazing.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that was very bad at school.

[SPEAKER_04]: So that was fun.

[SPEAKER_04]: And we had the big sound system.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was not shy with the volume.

[SPEAKER_04]: Big ball room.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was at Westwood Country Club in Vienna.

[SPEAKER_04]: And we had the ball room there and they did a great job.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know how they're making any money, charging seven dollars for a bottle of bottle of ice.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know what, you got it all over me.

[SPEAKER_04]: I had readings.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it was a cash bar.

[SPEAKER_06]: As you got it all over me.

[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I had, you know, my first reunion, I had we had forty plus affiliates.

[SPEAKER_06]: And, and I, you know, I walk into the reunion kind of.

[SPEAKER_06]: And I get, you still are doing the DJ thing?

[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, really, really, really, really, really.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it wasn't, it wasn't.

[SPEAKER_03]: So doing that weird thing that no one understands.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well,

[SPEAKER_04]: It was weird because a lot of these people hadn't seen them since the twentieth.

[SPEAKER_04]: The twentieth reunion happened between the time that we got fired and we started the podcast.

[SPEAKER_04]: So the last time I talked to these people, I didn't have a job.

[SPEAKER_04]: And so it was, and luckily, because many of them are local, and you're last reunion, you were unemployed.

[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it was not a great, I'd said, if we had done a nineteen year reunion, I would have been skinny and employed.

[SPEAKER_04]: But the twentieth caught me fat and unemployed.

[SPEAKER_05]: That is hilarious.

[SPEAKER_03]: So it was, it was, last year would have been a great year to do that.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's what we were, but for the thirty of fat, but employed so that you know, we're big and stuff and big and stuff and there are some great things.

[SPEAKER_04]: Boy, the thirty of boy do you need the name tags?

[SPEAKER_04]: Because, you know, we all have name tags with big font with our name and our senior pictures.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: And there was people people become right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, I said this to my mom.

[SPEAKER_04]: She said how to go.

[SPEAKER_04]: I said, do you know how if you like look at a picture of Elvis when he's like young and on the Ed Sullivan show and he'll look at picture of Elvis when he's big and fat and bloated on stage.

[SPEAKER_04]: And you can't draw a parallel line and figure out how this became that.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm looking at people that I remember their name, and I remember their senior picture, and I'm wondering, are they wearing the right name tag?

[SPEAKER_04]: There's one guy named Tom that I just kept looking at, and like, tilting my head said, how did that happen?

[SPEAKER_04]: You don't, not like, was there a surgery?

[SPEAKER_04]: Was something happened?

[SPEAKER_06]: What I found with mine, and I want to ask you if you found it with yours, too.

[SPEAKER_06]: Were there the people that were perfectly preserved?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_06]: Because it's all about fitness.

[SPEAKER_06]: It's all about, you know, maintaining your look and looking good.

[SPEAKER_06]: And there was one guy, I think his name was Spencer.

[SPEAKER_06]: And I could be totally wrong because I don't really hang out with the cops.

[SPEAKER_05]: But he looked really, he died his hair too.

[SPEAKER_05]: So he looked exactly the same.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm very, very looked so everything was black and then he was wearing black and he was fit.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's it was weird.

[SPEAKER_04]: There are some that people that have not changed at all.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then there was people that when you look at him across the room, there were people.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, there were people that looked exactly the same.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then there were times when I looked across the room, is that it?

[SPEAKER_04]: Is that a teacher?

[SPEAKER_04]: Who is that?

[SPEAKER_04]: And then I'm thinking, well, he must be a little older than us.

[SPEAKER_04]: He said, no, he's not older.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're all in the same class.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're all within twelve months of each other.

[SPEAKER_04]: And they look like there's sixty-five years old.

[SPEAKER_04]: You went with that snow-weight beard?

[SPEAKER_04]: I did.

[SPEAKER_04]: I did not die my beard.

[SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I think you know what?

[SPEAKER_04]: In comparison, granted, as I said, fat and employed.

[SPEAKER_04]: But I'm holding up pretty well.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think you're a pretty good.

[SPEAKER_04]: So what about the hottest in school what about the you know the bells of the ball there was a few bells of the prom and you know what there's the bells of the ball were the same bells of the ball from back then some things never change where your mean girls there were mean girls there I'm not gonna name any names but I know that one girl was found crying in the bathroom and we're all dying to know what

[SPEAKER_06]: I'm pretty sure if I can just get this out the David Carroll through a nice cube at the back of my head at my forties.

[SPEAKER_06]: So cute Dave.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks, don't change, right?

[SPEAKER_06]: You back then and I need you now.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yep, people that were told, I'm sorry, Tony, I didn't mean to say that.

[SPEAKER_04]: People that were A holes then were A holes that night, but it seems to have softened and then there are the people and this is a phenomenon that I do enjoy that are dying and they must not get out a lot.

[SPEAKER_04]: Dying to tell you about all the bad things in their life.

[SPEAKER_04]: There was a young lady who opposed for a picture and she said, this is great.

[SPEAKER_04]: Please don't tag this until Tuesday.

[SPEAKER_04]: I said, okay, why?

[SPEAKER_04]: She's, well, you know, after the hearing.

[SPEAKER_04]: What?

[SPEAKER_04]: She said, wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: Whoa.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I quote, yeah, when he held the gun to my head, I realized things were really over.

[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, we got to take a break now.

[SPEAKER_06]: I want to, I want you to laugh at it when we come back.

[SPEAKER_06]: Really.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's terrifying.

[SPEAKER_03]: It is Ben.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, we, you know, carry and I each went to each other's ten three onions.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: And we realized back then, this is ridiculous.

[SPEAKER_04]: Why are we spending this much money to go into a certain room with people that we don't know?

[SPEAKER_04]: So we've not been to each other's reunions for twenty years.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that I saw spouses and guests up there and they looked every bit as miserable as they should.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's a horrible thing to bring a spouse to a reunion.

[SPEAKER_06]: I've been to two.

[SPEAKER_06]: And I, here's where I am.

[SPEAKER_06]: I just think that there are people that, especially as they continue, that are going to get.

[SPEAKER_06]: Forty was cool.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, just to be alive and that to be alive.

[SPEAKER_06]: But to be honest, I'm all about something that works out schedule-wise.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_06]: And so it's great to have something where I'm traveling or it's close and or I'm up in New England and so.

[SPEAKER_06]: But I find that there is a group of people that really get into it.

[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: They're usually very local.

[SPEAKER_06]: You're pointing at him.

[SPEAKER_06]: He's on the committee.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: There are people up on my comment.

[SPEAKER_06]: I went to my last one.

[SPEAKER_06]: I won't be going anymore, but it's just a local town.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I talked to my mom into going to her fifth year and she was really dragging her feet and she said she's really glad she went.

[SPEAKER_04]: just really glad I went to my forty thing that that was fine and you know this is this is dark but this is true and I didn't realize it was this many we had five hundred and ten in our class we had maybe a hundred and seventy five or hundred eighty at the reunion which is not bad but we've had thirteen deaths in our class and that's a lot and it's scary no it's scary what about the real what if you took that subset for society in general

[SPEAKER_03]: What if you did it?

[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it's a high number of thirteen is actually probably.

[SPEAKER_03]: Probably average.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is, but it does underscore the mortality of everybody.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it made me think, you know what?

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad I saw these people again.

[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of them, not everybody, but if I have most of them.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: So if they die, I'd buy some.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, how's this?

[SPEAKER_04]: Go to the reunion and skip the funeral.

[SPEAKER_03]: The control room is dying about the death rate.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: He loves death.

[SPEAKER_03]: They were all murdered.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, they were no, they're not related, Pony.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're all murderers.

[SPEAKER_04]: Actually, they were all.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're all murderers.

[SPEAKER_04]: From the same high school.

[SPEAKER_04]: Pony, that's not funny.

[SPEAKER_04]: The truth of the matter is, is all thirteen of them.

[SPEAKER_04]: There was a horrible accident at the twentieth.

[SPEAKER_06]: Oh my god, thirteen.

[SPEAKER_06]: So so you're there.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: And here's another great moment that you will enjoy.

[SPEAKER_04]: I did there were a lot of people because a lot of people are local.

[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of people asked about the podcast and a lot of people listen to the podcast was very, very nice.

[SPEAKER_04]: See, very rewarding.

[SPEAKER_06]: That must be cool.

[SPEAKER_06]: I would love to experience that.

[SPEAKER_06]: I don't.

[SPEAKER_04]: And a young lady comes up to me and says, Hey, Rob, and I'm Frank from Brandford.

[SPEAKER_04]: I said hi to this young lady.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I kind of remembered her from high school.

[SPEAKER_04]: But this is what I didn't remember.

[SPEAKER_04]: And she said, I don't think I've seen you since I played strip trivia.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I said, oh, right.

[SPEAKER_04]: I had no idea.

[SPEAKER_04]: And she says, well, you're the only person in this room that's ever seen me naked.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it was everything within my power not to say, but the night is young.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like, like, in her lifetime?

[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, she, she lost strip trivia.

[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, she said, I was the only person in the graduating class with ever seen her naked.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, in the graduate.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you played strip trivia?

[SPEAKER_06]: No, I was in the room while they were doing it, you say we played on the Donna Mike.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I was a go-go guy, but I figured the guys were doing that, but you're in the room when it was happening.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was in the actually there was a switch during the trip.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was in the news room with the guy.

[SPEAKER_04]: And that was not a great deal.

[SPEAKER_06]: Did anybody get sloppy drunk at your union?

[SPEAKER_06]: Anybody any drunk?

[SPEAKER_04]: No real big drinking because it was I think it was cost prohibitive.

[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't see anyone sloppy drug.

[SPEAKER_04]: I saw some people.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's no staff at me.

[SPEAKER_06]: See, that might be the generational difference with my group.

[SPEAKER_06]: We invented binging.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, generation.

[SPEAKER_04]: and also a big tip of the cap to the catering services of westwood country club when they said that they were going to put out heavy appetizers and you know how when you go to a really nice fancy place and they'll put a sign by the food that it tells you what it is like a brazed chicken with a goat cheese reduction or whatever and they had a you really don't need a sign that says tortilla chips

[SPEAKER_04]: Do they say heavy or nerves?

[SPEAKER_04]: And there were some, but you know, they rounded it out with chips and cookies and stuff like that.

[SPEAKER_04]: So not great.

[SPEAKER_04]: But I will say this overall, a great reunion.

[SPEAKER_04]: People only a few real stand out A-holes from the class, and you know who you are.

[SPEAKER_04]: Mora, who is... When you say that, did they behave that way at the... Oh, it makes it you an A-hole at a reunion.

[SPEAKER_04]: When a gentleman... Oh, y'all go ahead and just say it.

[SPEAKER_04]: It really threw me.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: This threw me.

[SPEAKER_04]: when he came up and he started very nicely talking about how we've both had a nice run in the business and he's you know he does media as well and he said and it's funny to think I said what he says

[SPEAKER_04]: Your big starting moment was an event I created.

[SPEAKER_04]: You competed in Mr. Madison, and that's where you got your start.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I said, oh, and he said, yeah, I, you know, without that, who knows where he would have been?

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, this guy.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I was, and I was with a friend of mine standing there.

[SPEAKER_04]: Her name was Jen, and she heard this.

[SPEAKER_04]: Made eye contact with me and just walked away.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I just said, well, you know what?

[SPEAKER_04]: I guess thank you for starting my career.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's in media.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but he was essentially taking credit for

[SPEAKER_04]: My career, like, I wouldn't have done it successful.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's successful, but he's the more successful than you are.

[SPEAKER_04]: I would say, well, he has an Emmy Award, but I think it might be a technicality.

[SPEAKER_04]: And he does some TV work.

[SPEAKER_04]: Is he on camera?

[SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes, but one of my favorite movies, he is a local TV person.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, he's not local.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's more of a internet.

[SPEAKER_04]: He does, he does some stuff with ESPN.

[SPEAKER_04]: You might know his name if I tell it to you, but I don't want to tell it.

[SPEAKER_06]: I don't want to make it.

[SPEAKER_04]: But I will say this one of the greatest moments is when I can't wait to hear a delightful young lady from our theater department.

[SPEAKER_04]: She was also in the band.

[SPEAKER_04]: Her name is Allison walked up to him afterwards and said so.

[SPEAKER_04]: I hear your famous or something.

[SPEAKER_04]: just totally to knock his feet out for one or like because you know he's very good.

[SPEAKER_03]: He looks fine.

[SPEAKER_03]: Send us a text with the name.

[SPEAKER_03]: I respect your pride.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I will respect you.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you got to show me the text with my phone is down.

[SPEAKER_04]: There wasn't a lot of that.

[SPEAKER_06]: I know the guy you're talking about.

[SPEAKER_06]: And the guy is, uh, yeah, I get it.

[SPEAKER_06]: I know, but I mean, I think, um, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_06]: Most people now put me in an awkward position as, because he did something for me.

[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, did you know that?

[SPEAKER_06]: No.

[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_06]: He made the video for my mom.

[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, that's guys.

[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, that's guys actually.

[SPEAKER_03]: You know that.

[SPEAKER_06]: And now a little something, something back on the twenty-ninth of last month, two drivers in Largo, Florida got into a road rage argument.

[SPEAKER_06]: One of them was a sixty-one-year-old guy named David Wipperman.

[SPEAKER_06]: The other is a woman whose name hasn't been released.

[SPEAKER_06]: It's not clear what caused their argument, but at some point, Wipperman got out of his truck and walked up to the woman's car, so she rolled down her window and she apologized.

[SPEAKER_06]: I do a road rage thing and David responded by spitting the food he was doing into her mouth.
