<v Speaker 1>Jared, you, Katy and Josh Mix one hundred.
<v Speaker 2>Uh, it's been a minute since we dug into an
<v Speaker 2>argument that my wife and I are having, and we
<v Speaker 2>like to call it idiot and wife idiot and.
<v Speaker 1>Wife hey idiot? And why come on?
<v Speaker 2>He said, And she's his wife, harsh.
<v Speaker 1>Idiot and why good idiot? Then why that's good? She
<v Speaker 1>said his wife.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, here we go, tell you what's going on in
<v Speaker 2>our house, and you can call in and.
<v Speaker 1>Take a side idiot or the wife.
<v Speaker 2>Uh So, a couple days ago, actually, let me give
<v Speaker 2>you the number in case you want to sound off
<v Speaker 2>right away. Three oh three six nine one one mix
<v Speaker 2>three oh three six nine one sixteen forty nine. A
<v Speaker 2>couple of days ago, we had some friends over from
<v Speaker 2>out of town. It was an old college buddy and
<v Speaker 2>his wife. Uh just had him over for a little
<v Speaker 2>like after late afternoon snackage, just kind of catching up.
<v Speaker 2>They brought their two kiddos over with them. I want
<v Speaker 2>to say, these kids are like right around two and four.
<v Speaker 2>They're young, pretty good baby human child. They're ringbunctious, you
<v Speaker 2>know that age. They're they're all over the place. So
<v Speaker 2>what we were doing is we were hanging out in
<v Speaker 2>our living room having some drinks and snacks, letting the
<v Speaker 2>kids run around the house. My kids are much older,
<v Speaker 2>so they were actually out front with the other neighbor
<v Speaker 2>kids riding bikes and farting around, so they weren't in
<v Speaker 2>the house. So here we are talking to my friends
<v Speaker 2>in the living room, and I kind of gathered up
<v Speaker 2>the dishes, plates and cups and made my way back
<v Speaker 2>into the kitchen. And as I walked in, I looked
<v Speaker 2>at the front of our dishwasher, staying with steel dishwasher
<v Speaker 2>there in the kitchen, right by the sink, and it
<v Speaker 2>looks like one of the kids scratched the hell out
<v Speaker 2>of the front of the dishwasher, a couple pretty good
<v Speaker 2>sized dents in it too, So.
<v Speaker 1>What were they doing? Little ay holes?
<v Speaker 2>So obviously I was like, oh, yeah, you know, I
<v Speaker 2>did one of those.
<v Speaker 1>And everyone was like, well, what's going on?
<v Speaker 2>So I told him, and they all came in and yeah,
<v Speaker 2>sure enough, there was the front of the dishwasher, and
<v Speaker 2>their kids had been flinging some toys around, doing something and.
<v Speaker 1>Just beat the crab out.
<v Speaker 2>And I would tell you that dishwasher is only a year,
<v Speaker 2>year and a half old. It's brand new and it's
<v Speaker 2>a nice one. It's like a kitchen Aid Elite or whatever.
<v Speaker 1>It's a nice dishwasher.
<v Speaker 2>My friend was very apologetic as he should be offered
<v Speaker 2>to pay for the damage. And this is where we
<v Speaker 2>get into the weeds, because Nicknack is mad at me.
<v Speaker 2>She she's mad at me because I was like, dude,
<v Speaker 2>no worries, don't worry about it. It happens their kids.
<v Speaker 2>It's all good, we'll get it fixed.
<v Speaker 3>You said that.
<v Speaker 2>I said that because I was like, don't worry about it.
<v Speaker 2>And Nicole didn't say much. She was just kind of
<v Speaker 2>standing there and I could tell she was fuming a
<v Speaker 2>little bit.
<v Speaker 1>Uh huh.
<v Speaker 2>And so when they left for the night, she unloaded
<v Speaker 2>on me, you guys, and said, I need to all
<v Speaker 2>them and ask for money for repair. Whoa fix the
<v Speaker 2>damage or get us a new washer, which we don't
<v Speaker 2>have to do.
<v Speaker 1>I've been doing my research on this.
<v Speaker 2>I will admit I'm irritated. I'm a little pissed about
<v Speaker 2>this too. But listen, we left the kids alone. They're young,
<v Speaker 2>they didn't know any better. Yeah, and like, put yourself
<v Speaker 2>in that situation, like what are you gonna do? Like
<v Speaker 2>in that moment, say yeah, okay, yeah, give me money,
<v Speaker 2>give me money right now.
<v Speaker 1>It's just not a good look.
<v Speaker 2>No, Nichole's saying, you know what, they should have been
<v Speaker 2>watching their kids more closely.
<v Speaker 1>I said, well, we could have been watching.
<v Speaker 2>Them a little more too, So she's essentially putting her
<v Speaker 2>foot down that pretty much.
<v Speaker 1>Today.
<v Speaker 2>I think is probably the DO or I date, because
<v Speaker 2>it's been a couple of days that I need to
<v Speaker 2>call them and say, you know what, I've thought about it.
<v Speaker 2>You got to pony up some cash. You gotta been
<v Speaker 2>mow me some cash for the front of our washer.
<v Speaker 2>So I don't know what to do. I feel like
<v Speaker 2>it's kind of a bad look. When I already said, hey, listen,
<v Speaker 2>they're kids. We've been in that situation. We know how
<v Speaker 2>young kids. And now you've changed your mind and out
<v Speaker 2>of nowhere, I got to call him back and be like, hey,
<v Speaker 2>I'll give him a fake name, Hey Lance, is he single? No,
<v Speaker 2>give me some money. And I researched the part, I mean,
<v Speaker 2>the whole front of it's going to.
<v Speaker 1>Be two hundred and fifty bucks.
<v Speaker 2>But she's pretty irritated with me that I didn't kind
<v Speaker 2>of man up in the moment say yeah.
<v Speaker 1>You know, we'll probably you need some cash.
<v Speaker 3>It was your kids, I mean, it was this is
<v Speaker 3>on them, like, this is their mistake. It's not your
<v Speaker 3>fault for having a dishwasher, you know. And so I
<v Speaker 3>think like if I was in Lance's position, I would
<v Speaker 3>offer again, you know, and be like, hey, like are
<v Speaker 3>you sure because two hundred fifty bucks it's not going
<v Speaker 3>to break the bank for either one of you guys.
<v Speaker 3>If I if I were in that position, those were
<v Speaker 3>my kids, I would be like, I have to pay
<v Speaker 3>for this. So I and I think you kind of
<v Speaker 3>did the right thing, Jar where you're not in that
<v Speaker 3>moment being like, yeah, you know what cut.
<v Speaker 2>So off you guys. Well, obviously they're embarrassed because they're kids.
<v Speaker 2>Beat the hell out of the front of our washer.
<v Speaker 2>But then it's like I'm not gonna I feel bad
<v Speaker 2>for them in the moment too. Yeah, these your goofy
<v Speaker 2>kids jack something up, you know, how can you.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, what can you do?
<v Speaker 2>They're two and four, they're just babies, and ording to
<v Speaker 2>my wife, we need some money.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah. Also, like so many things just kind of make
<v Speaker 4>this situation a little harder because it's like he did
<v Speaker 4>offer to pay and you said no, so it kind
<v Speaker 4>of came and went. And also it's superficial.
<v Speaker 1>It's just cosmetic.
<v Speaker 4>It's not like the damage done makes your dishwasher, you know,
<v Speaker 4>like you can't use it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, but I will tell you dishwashers aren't y cheap
<v Speaker 2>and it matches the rest of the appliances in the kitchen.
<v Speaker 2>And it's a major eyes sore. You guys, it's bad.
<v Speaker 2>There's two giant dents. I should have posted a picture
<v Speaker 2>of it today, two giant dents. And honestly, it looks
<v Speaker 2>like they just grabbed a fork and just went all
<v Speaker 2>over the front of it.
<v Speaker 1>It's it's in bad shape. So what should I do?
<v Speaker 1>What's up? Jeane?
<v Speaker 5>Well, hay there, everybody?
<v Speaker 1>Hey there? Either so whose side are you on?
<v Speaker 5>The idiot or the I would say the idiot on
<v Speaker 5>this one. You know, why is this the relationship for
<v Speaker 5>the cost of an expensive dinner? It'll come out in
<v Speaker 5>the wash down the road. They'll probably offer to do
<v Speaker 5>something later. And the key is it sounds like it's
<v Speaker 5>out a principle. They offered, you said no, and in
<v Speaker 5>the end it'll come out in the wash. If your
<v Speaker 5>neighbors and friends and you do a lot together. That's
<v Speaker 5>what I think.
<v Speaker 2>Well, I will say we're not I mean we're friends,
<v Speaker 2>we're not neighbors. I don't see him a lot. This
<v Speaker 2>is kind of one of those things where it's like, hey,
<v Speaker 2>we're kind of in town because they're.
<v Speaker 1>They live kind of far. So we had them over.
<v Speaker 1>So I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>If they will reciprocate ever, but I like where you're
<v Speaker 2>coming from, and I like that, Right, that.
<v Speaker 5>Might be different. Right, I'm telling me, let's take care
<v Speaker 5>of that or split it.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, like in the moment, it just was.
<v Speaker 2>It was just uncomfortable, you know, because they felt super bad,
<v Speaker 2>and I just wanted to kind of ease the pressure
<v Speaker 2>of the whole situation, where I was like, don't worry
<v Speaker 2>about it.
<v Speaker 1>We got it. I'm handy, I'll just fix all that.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I think we'd all do the same. I mean
<v Speaker 5>most of us would be like, yeah, don't worry about it.
<v Speaker 5>Things happen.
<v Speaker 1>But then Jeane, my wife was mean to me and
<v Speaker 1>yelled at me when they left.
<v Speaker 5>So of course she's not happy with you because she's frustrated.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah that's good.
<v Speaker 1>She's very mean to me. Gene.
<v Speaker 2>All right, Gene, I have you down for idiot, not wife.
<v Speaker 2>Appreciate you calling in today.
<v Speaker 1>Have a good one.
<v Speaker 5>Hey, thanks, appreciate you guys.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you? Uh, Syana, Yes, how are you?
<v Speaker 5>Well?
<v Speaker 2>We're super dupes, Shyana. So did you hear the situation
<v Speaker 2>with my dishwasher?
<v Speaker 6>I did.
<v Speaker 7>I am actually on both sides here.
<v Speaker 1>Oh no, you got to pick a side.
<v Speaker 8>So here's the thing though, it's like, you guys have kids.
<v Speaker 8>You know, you've been through the travel two's and the
<v Speaker 8>movie for yeah, and.
<v Speaker 7>In this situation, maybe.
<v Speaker 8>Call your friend and say, hey, so after doing some
<v Speaker 8>research and speaking with my wife, you know how much
<v Speaker 8>the coop? How about bold and parents we split it
<v Speaker 8>down the middle and help each other out.
<v Speaker 4>Oh that's a good take right there, because everybody has
<v Speaker 4>a little bit of you know, owns a little bit
<v Speaker 4>of this situation.
<v Speaker 2>It's still been a couple of days and it's still
<v Speaker 2>going to be crazy awkward for me to send that
<v Speaker 2>message or that call.
<v Speaker 8>Well, if you explain it and let them, let him
<v Speaker 8>know what he knows. How my life are. I know
<v Speaker 8>how I am.
<v Speaker 9>When I get frustrated, it's a girl saying okay.
<v Speaker 1>Mean, she always yells at me, very mean.
<v Speaker 8>Your friends should understand you.
<v Speaker 1>Know, so, well, then what side am I putting you on?
<v Speaker 1>Idiot or wife? I mean, I would say you're more
<v Speaker 1>leaning towards wife.
<v Speaker 2>Than where I have to reach out at least get
<v Speaker 2>some sort of cash reaching out.
<v Speaker 7>Yes, the way you handle it was really well. I
<v Speaker 7>just think both parties should help each other.
<v Speaker 8>So all right, I'm gonna put my right leg on
<v Speaker 8>the right and I'm.
<v Speaker 2>Gonna put you on wife side though, because you are
<v Speaker 2>at least saying you acknowledge that wives can get at
<v Speaker 2>you and that you want a little cash, So I
<v Speaker 2>think you're more on my wife's side, So I'm gonna
<v Speaker 2>put you all right.
<v Speaker 1>You're very wise.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you for not yelling at me, and have a
<v Speaker 2>good day.
<v Speaker 1>See you later, Hey, tony guy. As soon as they left,
<v Speaker 1>she was all over me. Not in a good way,
<v Speaker 1>she was all over in a good way. Here's Vicky, Hi,
<v Speaker 1>Vaki hi, Hi. So what do you think I should do?
<v Speaker 6>Well, Okay, here's our story, because we were on the
<v Speaker 6>side of the other parents at one point in our
<v Speaker 6>lives when our kids were little. They were at a place,
<v Speaker 6>they're the friends and they're running around and somebody ran
<v Speaker 6>through the screen door. I got hurt, but they ran
<v Speaker 6>through the screen door, so there was damage to the
<v Speaker 6>screen door by my kids, so of course the same
<v Speaker 6>thing happened. We were like, oh my gosh, we're so sorry.
<v Speaker 6>You know, let us pay for right, And of course
<v Speaker 6>they said no, it's okay, you know, we got it.
<v Speaker 6>And what we ended up doing is afterwards, I looked
<v Speaker 6>up the cost of approximate replacement first screen door and
<v Speaker 6>nailed them a check. Nowadays, you probably have just been
<v Speaker 6>all of them sure and took care of it that way,
<v Speaker 6>and they, you know, acknowledged it and they said thank you,
<v Speaker 6>and they catched the check and it was all good. So,
<v Speaker 6>you know, if they're feeling so guilty about it or
<v Speaker 6>they feel so bad about it, I would think they
<v Speaker 6>would want to reach out again and offer again. And
<v Speaker 6>at that point you could say yes.
<v Speaker 1>Now, that's kind of what nick Knack said.
<v Speaker 2>She's like, why didn't they just insist and then just
<v Speaker 2>right there pull out their phone and be like, here's,
<v Speaker 2>you know, two hundred buck, let's look up real quick
<v Speaker 2>what this is going to cost in zip you two
<v Speaker 2>hundred bucks?
<v Speaker 1>That was kind of her thing.
<v Speaker 2>She's like, why didn't we why didn't they just do it.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know right, and now you had to be
<v Speaker 2>there though, too, Vicky had to be there.
<v Speaker 1>It was awkward. It was crazy awkward. So what am
<v Speaker 1>I putting you down?
<v Speaker 6>For?
<v Speaker 1>Idiot or wife?
<v Speaker 6>I'd say, Okay, which way is it going now? I'd
<v Speaker 6>say the ones h wife?
<v Speaker 1>Wife?
<v Speaker 9>Yeah?
<v Speaker 6>At some point.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, two to one for wife, VICKI thank you for
<v Speaker 2>calling in today.
<v Speaker 1>I appreciate your feedback. Let's do two more.
<v Speaker 2>I got h Megan and Steven, and then we will
<v Speaker 2>put this to bed.
<v Speaker 1>Hi Steven, Hello, Hello sir.
<v Speaker 2>So it's idiot and wife. Those kids scratched up my dishwasher.
<v Speaker 2>I say it's fine, let it go. Nick Knack wants
<v Speaker 2>some cash from the parents. Whose side are you on?
<v Speaker 9>Well?
<v Speaker 6>As a thirty year old single guy with all my
<v Speaker 6>friends have kids now, so if you're gonna have kids over,
<v Speaker 6>just let it go and accept it.
<v Speaker 1>That's kind of what I said. I was like, how
<v Speaker 1>would you feel if our kids did something?
<v Speaker 9>You know?
<v Speaker 2>You'd feel better if that other party was like, don't
<v Speaker 2>worry about it, They're just kids.
<v Speaker 1>Wouldn't you feel better if you paid?
<v Speaker 3>Though? I feel better if you if I was like, no,
<v Speaker 3>I'm ponying this up whether you like it or not.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, because if my kid broke something, I'd be like, no,
<v Speaker 4>I need to take care of that.
<v Speaker 1>I feel bad.
<v Speaker 4>So that's where I feel like the you.
<v Speaker 1>Know what I insisted? I was like no, no, no no.
<v Speaker 1>So that's why they should add at me. So whose
<v Speaker 1>side are you on, Steven, idiot or wife?
<v Speaker 5>I guess I'm on.
<v Speaker 6>Your side, Idiot.
<v Speaker 1>I gotta change the name of this feature. It's starting
<v Speaker 1>to get me a complex here. Steven. You stay single, buddy,
<v Speaker 1>enjoy your life, have a good day, see you later.
<v Speaker 1>I don't get in these goofy arguments. Megan. Hello, guess what, girlfriend.
<v Speaker 2>It is two to two right now for idiot and wife,
<v Speaker 2>So you are going to be the tie breaker.
<v Speaker 1>It's it's coming down to you, all right.
<v Speaker 9>I'm with you, Jeremy. You here's the thing.
<v Speaker 5>They have two.
<v Speaker 9>Kids, ages two and four, right, so it's safe to
<v Speaker 9>say they're in daycare, So it's safe to say they
<v Speaker 9>have over a mortgage payment in daycare, so maybe they're
<v Speaker 9>kind of strapped for cash. And them offering was like, okay,
<v Speaker 9>I'm going to offer. But then once you said no,
<v Speaker 9>like they're not gonna push it. You know, like I
<v Speaker 9>don't know, I've been in that situation, not where my
<v Speaker 9>kids destroyed anything, but where I'm like, no, I'll pay
<v Speaker 9>for something, even though I know it's really going to
<v Speaker 9>be hard on me. It's just the right thing to do.
<v Speaker 9>And then like once they tell me no once or twice,
<v Speaker 9>I'm like, well, I'm not going to keep fighting to
<v Speaker 9>you know, struggle to buy groceries.
<v Speaker 2>Actually, yeah, you're just going to be gracious that that happened.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah. Right.
<v Speaker 9>And another thing is, like I tell my husband all
<v Speaker 9>the time, like when we get mad at our kids
<v Speaker 9>for doing something when we weren't watching them, we're really
<v Speaker 9>like more mad at ourselves for not watching them than
<v Speaker 9>what they did.
<v Speaker 2>Sure, you know, and I've been there, and I felt
<v Speaker 2>that coming from my friends like they were super embarrassed,
<v Speaker 2>and you know, yeah, I just felt like it was
<v Speaker 2>the kind thing to do in moment where my wife
<v Speaker 2>is a monster.
<v Speaker 4>No, No, your wife know that far.
<v Speaker 9>I want to go that far.
<v Speaker 2>She wants to strip them of all of their funds
<v Speaker 2>so they can't pay mortgage or their daycare.
<v Speaker 4>But she's looking out for your family, Jeremy. But your
<v Speaker 4>family and your Christine dishwasher.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. She never loads that thing. It's always me.
<v Speaker 1>That's a different one, different story.
<v Speaker 2>Throwing under the bus here, it's always me loading and
<v Speaker 2>unloading that.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm putting you down for idiot, Megan, even after
<v Speaker 1>all this, after all this.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, three to two idiot wins, Megan, thank you for
<v Speaker 2>calling in today.
<v Speaker 1>Appreciate you have a good one.
<v Speaker 2>You're welcome a good one.
<v Speaker 1>Who that never happens.
<v Speaker 2>I think this is the first time I watched The
<v Speaker 2>Idiot and why first time? Ha ha, And I know
<v Speaker 2>my wife's listening on our way to work right now.
<v Speaker 1>How does it feel? Suck it? You're sleeping on the couch,
<v Speaker 1>so no idiot and wife. Idiot and wife and she's
<v Speaker 1>his arm. Idiot idiot and.
<v Speaker 2>His wife fall in and all the texts coming in
<v Speaker 2>on it so fantastic. Kitty was laughing because she's like
<v Speaker 2>reading some of them and they just say, I'm with
<v Speaker 2>the idiot.
<v Speaker 4>I know idiot is sleeping on the couch.
<v Speaker 5>Idiot.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you everybody. We have fun doing that little segment.
<v Speaker 1>Obviously it's lighthearted and I love my wife dearly, but I.
<v Speaker 2>Just like playing that theme song. So we'll do it
<v Speaker 2>again sometime here with jk J
