<v Speaker 1>You know, after a last week's show, I had enough
<v Speaker 1>sense to Ashley use my VPN for SmackDown tonight, which
<v Speaker 1>made it more tolerable during some of the matches, so
<v Speaker 1>that way I didn't have to deal with commercial palooza
<v Speaker 1>like we did on SmackDown last week. Tonight, we got
<v Speaker 1>to talk about a few things. We got to talk
<v Speaker 1>about the return of the WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. We
<v Speaker 1>have not seen Cody in many weeks since McIntyre gave
<v Speaker 1>him a Claymore kick in the bottom part of the
<v Speaker 1>announced table apparently that killed him dead. We haven't seen
<v Speaker 1>Cody since. So there he was tonight, guile in all
<v Speaker 1>his presence back on SMACKDOWD and the match has been
<v Speaker 1>made for Russell Poluza next weekend. It will be Cody
<v Speaker 1>Rhoades defending the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre. That was
<v Speaker 1>coming off the Randy Orton. Drew McIntyre made event that
<v Speaker 1>we had here of this show, which was solid enough.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't think it was a great main event, but
<v Speaker 1>it was solid enough. We had two championship matches on
<v Speaker 1>this show. We had one match that was anything but solid.
<v Speaker 1>We had one championship match that was tremendous between Sammy
<v Speaker 1>Zain and Ray Phoenix in the US Title Open Challenge.
<v Speaker 1>This is a match that you should go out of
<v Speaker 1>your way to see. If there's one thing from SmackDown
<v Speaker 1>Tonight that I would say you need to go out
<v Speaker 1>of your way to watch, that would be it. The
<v Speaker 1>other championship match that we had on this show was
<v Speaker 1>for the WWE Women's Championship between Tiffany Stratton and Jade
<v Speaker 1>Car gild And while I cannot heap the same amount
<v Speaker 1>of praise on that match, it was not a bad match.
<v Speaker 1>Actually I thought it was slightly better than the match
<v Speaker 1>they had at Summer Slim, which was not a bad
<v Speaker 1>match either. But we had no resolution to their issue.
<v Speaker 1>We had no winner decided, but Naya Jacks was the
<v Speaker 1>last woman standing when it was all said and done.
<v Speaker 1>So we are heading towards a triple threat match very
<v Speaker 1>soon for the Women's Championship. A very very weak top
<v Speaker 1>of the division right now. I don't know what's going
<v Speaker 1>on with the top of the SmackDown Women's division. The championship,
<v Speaker 1>the main title, very very weak, especially when you compare
<v Speaker 1>to what's going on on the off side right now.
<v Speaker 1>They really need Bianca bell airback as quickly as possible,
<v Speaker 1>and even getting Bianca back, there's work to be done. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>because you have Charlotte and Alexa, they're off doing the
<v Speaker 1>tag team thing and beyonc has been out for months
<v Speaker 1>ever since WrestleMania. It really shows that we are now
<v Speaker 1>back to Tiffany Stratton and Nya Jackson again with a
<v Speaker 1>little bit of Jade car Gill thrown in there, so
<v Speaker 1>that part of it is not great. Brock Lesner was
<v Speaker 1>also promoted for this show tonight now John Cena. John
<v Speaker 1>Cena is done with SmackDown. You are never going to
<v Speaker 1>see him on SmackDown for the rest of this retirement run.
<v Speaker 1>We'll see him on Raw this coming Monday. But we
<v Speaker 1>had brock Lesnar on the show tonight. Now, if you
<v Speaker 1>have brock Lesnar on the show but no John Cena,
<v Speaker 1>it stands to reason that if brock is going to
<v Speaker 1>do anything, he's not going to be attacking random people.
<v Speaker 1>You would hope that, you know, we've got brock Lesner
<v Speaker 1>coming out and talking about why he's been going around
<v Speaker 1>kicking this guy's ass. Maybe we'll get some sort of
<v Speaker 1>explanation for why why Now, Is it just that he
<v Speaker 1>wanted to give him one last ass kicking before Seena
<v Speaker 1>calls it a day and signs off and rides off
<v Speaker 1>into the sunset. I'm still wondering what the answer to
<v Speaker 1>that question is because we didn't get an explanation tonight.
<v Speaker 1>We didn't get much of anything from Brocklesner except a
<v Speaker 1>very memorable moment. And look, this shit happens on live TV.
<v Speaker 1>Sometimes you don't want to be the person that it
<v Speaker 1>happens to. If you're brock Lesner, you just sort of
<v Speaker 1>laugh it off. Right, Who's going to make fun of
<v Speaker 1>brock Lesner and point and mock him and you know,
<v Speaker 1>do anything other than just laugh along with him. Uh.
<v Speaker 1>We saw more of Brocklesner at the end of that
<v Speaker 1>segment than I care to see. And when there is
<v Speaker 1>a wardrobe malfunction, that is the most newsworthy part of
<v Speaker 1>a Brocklesner segment. That tells you there wasn't a whole
<v Speaker 1>hell of a lot to that brock Lesner segment. But
<v Speaker 1>that is what we had here on SmackDown Tonight. Now,
<v Speaker 1>for all of the goings on and happenings here on
<v Speaker 1>SmackDown Tonight, the big news of the day, and I'm
<v Speaker 1>not going to do on this because I'm going to
<v Speaker 1>save this for the sound off on Sunday, but the
<v Speaker 1>big news of the day, and they promoted it here
<v Speaker 1>on the show tonight, the big announcement that Triple H
<v Speaker 1>was teasing the other day. Triple H was dropping these
<v Speaker 1>hints on Twitter about changing the game, some sort of
<v Speaker 1>game changing announcement that there was going to be today,
<v Speaker 1>and we already knew what it was going to be
<v Speaker 1>because it leaked. It leaked a couple of days early,
<v Speaker 1>and it was exactly what we expected it to be.
<v Speaker 1>At three o'clock this afternoon in Las Vegas, which is
<v Speaker 1>where WWE is right now for Worlds Collide, which is
<v Speaker 1>happening as we speak, they made the announcement that Saudi
<v Speaker 1>Arabia will play host to WrestleMania forty three coming up
<v Speaker 1>in twenty twenty seven, and they had a bunch of
<v Speaker 1>stars on the dais there. They had Sean Michaels, and
<v Speaker 1>they had The Undertaker, and they had Bianca bel Air,
<v Speaker 1>and they had Charlotte Flair and Seth Rollins and Logan Paul,
<v Speaker 1>and they had Live Morgan, who we haven't seen in
<v Speaker 1>many months, and she looked like she would rather be
<v Speaker 1>anywhere but where she was. But they had them all
<v Speaker 1>lined up. Triple H comes out and they made the
<v Speaker 1>announcement WrestleMania, not Super WrestleMania, not the greatest WrestleMania, WrestleMania
<v Speaker 1>itself will be coming to Saudi Arabia in twenty twenty seven.
<v Speaker 1>And look, whatever your opinion may be of that news,
<v Speaker 1>and there was a lot of opinions, a lot of
<v Speaker 1>divided opinion about that announcement. Might also depend on where
<v Speaker 1>you live in the world. Forgetting that for a second,
<v Speaker 1>I made a comment on Twitter after the announcement was
<v Speaker 1>initially made and the event was still ongoing, and I
<v Speaker 1>made a comment to the effect of still waiting for
<v Speaker 1>this quote unquote game changing announcement to be made. Maybe
<v Speaker 1>it'll be made at the end of the event, And
<v Speaker 1>it never was, because that's how Triple H couched it,
<v Speaker 1>you know, on social media the day before. Now I'm
<v Speaker 1>just wondering, you know, where, where's the game changing part
<v Speaker 1>of this announcement? And if I tell you all of
<v Speaker 1>the dumb shits that came out of the woodwork that
<v Speaker 1>we're leaving comments under this tweet all throughout the afternoon.
<v Speaker 1>It would make your head spin. And one thing I
<v Speaker 1>learned very clearly today on social media and specifically X,
<v Speaker 1>is that people on that platform have the reading comprehension
<v Speaker 1>of a pineapple. So let me break it down very
<v Speaker 1>succinctly here for the people who dropped out of school,
<v Speaker 1>which was most of the ones that had to interact
<v Speaker 1>with today. I was making a comment about the so
<v Speaker 1>called game changing nature of the announcement and if you
<v Speaker 1>want to dispute that, and you think it was a
<v Speaker 1>game changing announcement because oh my god, Wrestlemane is leaving
<v Speaker 1>North America for the first time. I had a lot
<v Speaker 1>of people saying, oh, Wrestlemani is going international for the
<v Speaker 1>first time, which is not true, blatantly not true. But okay,
<v Speaker 1>if you want to make that your your argument, well,
<v Speaker 1>it's game changing for this reason. It's game changing for
<v Speaker 1>that reason. It's a matter of semantics here, we're playing
<v Speaker 1>with words. Okay. I don't look at it as a
<v Speaker 1>game changing thing for a variety of reasons that I
<v Speaker 1>will get into on Sunday, but we could have that
<v Speaker 1>difference of opinion. What I don't like is when people
<v Speaker 1>read something that clearly isn't there, and they manufacture some
<v Speaker 1>message or narrative in their head that doesn't exist. So
<v Speaker 1>if I tell you how many messages I had to
<v Speaker 1>sift through today, sifting through message after message, people who
<v Speaker 1>read that tweet, who turned it into oh, well, if
<v Speaker 1>you don't like it, then don't watch it, or oh
<v Speaker 1>you must hate the people in this part of the world.
<v Speaker 1>They're oh, if you hate this so much, And I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>again the reading comprehension of a pineapple, I'm like, what
<v Speaker 1>exactly are you talking about? Where in what I wrote?
<v Speaker 1>Are you getting this? Like? Where is this coming from?
<v Speaker 1>I couldn't understand. It didn't make any sense to me.
<v Speaker 1>Just dumb shit message after dumb shit message after dumb
<v Speaker 1>shit message. It was unbelievable. Wrestling fans, yeah, really showing
<v Speaker 1>their ass today on social media. So that was the
<v Speaker 1>nature of what I was dealing with coming out of
<v Speaker 1>this big, big announcement, this big event that they held
<v Speaker 1>earlier today. This was not a surprising announcement. Nobody should
<v Speaker 1>be surprised by this announcement. They have had a relationship
<v Speaker 1>with Saudi Arabia now for over seven years. They have
<v Speaker 1>hosted countless events at fifty million dollars a pop. Right,
<v Speaker 1>and I'm sure they're going to extend that relationship when
<v Speaker 1>it comes up. It was a ten year deal when
<v Speaker 1>they signed it, and it started in twenty eighteen, so
<v Speaker 1>you do the math. Something like this was inevitable for
<v Speaker 1>the money that they are paying for these sporting events.
<v Speaker 1>And it's not just wrestling. You know, there's boxing events,
<v Speaker 1>and there could be mixed martial arts events. It's all
<v Speaker 1>kinds of events. For the money that they're doling out, right,
<v Speaker 1>they have lived, golf, all this stuff, it was inevitable
<v Speaker 1>that they were going to get a wrestle media. They
<v Speaker 1>got the Royal Rumble. They're going to be in Saudi
<v Speaker 1>for the Royal Rumble in January. We now have a
<v Speaker 1>date on that, by the way, January thirty first, So
<v Speaker 1>that much we know. So WrestleMania was only a matter
<v Speaker 1>of time. I'm not surprised by it. There's gonna be
<v Speaker 1>a lot of people who are very upset because they
<v Speaker 1>go to WrestleMania every year and now they can't because
<v Speaker 1>they're not going to fly to Saudi Arabia, or because
<v Speaker 1>they simply are not going to be able to afford
<v Speaker 1>that trip. You think prices in Las Vegas for this
<v Speaker 1>year's WrestleMania and next year's WrestleMania are wild. What do
<v Speaker 1>you think those prices are going to look like in
<v Speaker 1>Saudi in twenty twenty seven. There's gonna be a lot
<v Speaker 1>of people who make WrestleMania their destination vacation every year
<v Speaker 1>who now are not going to be able to go
<v Speaker 1>have every right to be upset. On the other hand,
<v Speaker 1>there's also a lot of fans who live over there
<v Speaker 1>in that part of the world, or are specifically in
<v Speaker 1>Saudi Arabia, including people who listen to the podcast who
<v Speaker 1>I interact with on a regular basis, who I know
<v Speaker 1>are going to be very happy that they get to
<v Speaker 1>go to WrestleMania for the first time, and I'm happy
<v Speaker 1>for them. So again, I'll get into the nuts and
<v Speaker 1>bolts of this when we talk about it on Sunday,
<v Speaker 1>because I also think there is opportunity here moving WrestleMania
<v Speaker 1>out of the United States overseas, which is by the way,
<v Speaker 1>going to be airing in a completely, you know, different
<v Speaker 1>time zone. So depending on where you are, Wrestlemanti is
<v Speaker 1>going to be airing a lot earlier in the day.
<v Speaker 1>It presents opportunity for others, which I will get into
<v Speaker 1>talk about SmackDown. This is your SmackDown review. It is
<v Speaker 1>Friday night. It is September twelve, twenty twenty five. I
<v Speaker 1>am the Solemn Monster. I want to point out something
<v Speaker 1>else we had yesterday. I actually pushed it out last night,
<v Speaker 1>A brand new retro episode of the SoundOff, and this
<v Speaker 1>one is going back aways. Yes, the lost episodes are back.
<v Speaker 1>I have not uploaded an older episode in quite some time.
<v Speaker 1>I intend to do more. Get back on that horse.
<v Speaker 1>Episode fourteen of the SoundOff from February of two thousand
<v Speaker 1>and eight is up right now. If you are a
<v Speaker 1>Legends Tier Channel member, so on my sound Up Channel members,
<v Speaker 1>if you are on the Legends Tea, you have access
<v Speaker 1>to that episode. It is up for you right now,
<v Speaker 1>with more to come. Talking about a whole bunch of
<v Speaker 1>things in that episode. Whatever was going on in the
<v Speaker 1>world of wrestling back in February of two thousand and eight.
<v Speaker 1>That's what I'm sounding off on. So if he didn't
<v Speaker 1>get the notification, just be aware of that. It is
<v Speaker 1>up right now, and again I'm gonna be working to
<v Speaker 1>get episode fifteen up very soon. So if you are
<v Speaker 1>not a channel member on that Legends tier, now is
<v Speaker 1>a good chance to take advantage of that and get
<v Speaker 1>in the party. All right, let's get into this SmackDown
<v Speaker 1>show here. Because we had a different announced crew for
<v Speaker 1>tonight's show. We had the NXT crew, Vic, Joseph and
<v Speaker 1>Booker t They took over the announcing duties for tonight's show.
<v Speaker 1>Corey Graves was on the call in Vegas for the
<v Speaker 1>Triple A World's Collide show, and Michael Cole, based on
<v Speaker 1>some of the recent performances he's had, he could use
<v Speaker 1>a few days off. He could probably use a few
<v Speaker 1>weeks off, so I didn't have any issue with him
<v Speaker 1>rotating the NXT crew in there. After replaying what happened
<v Speaker 1>last week where brock Lesner attacked John Sena and Sammy's
<v Speaker 1>Ain after the match for the United States Championship, brock
<v Speaker 1>Lesner open this week's show. Brock Lesner is in the
<v Speaker 1>main event. He is closing the show at Wressell Palooza.
<v Speaker 1>That's what Joe Tessitor confirmed on ESPN today. I think
<v Speaker 1>we already figured that was going to be the main event,
<v Speaker 1>but it is confirmed. John Cena versus brock Lesner will
<v Speaker 1>be headlining Wressell Palooza next weekend. Brock Lesner comes out
<v Speaker 1>to cheers, but when he gets in the ring and
<v Speaker 1>they stop his music, we hear chants of you suck
<v Speaker 1>directed at Brock. Before he could say a word, he
<v Speaker 1>didn't even get a word out. Our truths music hid
<v Speaker 1>and Our Truth comes out and he wraps his way
<v Speaker 1>to the ring. What's up? What's up? Right? I mean
<v Speaker 1>it's like I mean, if you would have pushed a
<v Speaker 1>button and taking you back to two thousand and twelve,
<v Speaker 1>twenty nineteen, twenty twenty three, it's the same. Our Truth.
<v Speaker 1>He comes out, he wraps his way down to the
<v Speaker 1>ring and into the ring and he says, I'll tell
<v Speaker 1>you what's up, and Brock cuts him off immediately and says,
<v Speaker 1>man shut up. Truth said that he was going to
<v Speaker 1>be the first WWE superstar to say Brock welcome back,
<v Speaker 1>and Brock laughed. Truth said that he's he used to
<v Speaker 1>be scared of him, but he's not scared of him
<v Speaker 1>no more. And Brock said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa.
<v Speaker 1>I don't even know who you are, and you better
<v Speaker 1>have a damn good reason for coming out here and
<v Speaker 1>interrupting me. Truth said that Brock's been disrespecting his childhood hero,
<v Speaker 1>John Cena for the past twenty five years. Brock asked him,
<v Speaker 1>how old are you? He's older than Brock. They tell
<v Speaker 1>you that he's older than Brock. He might not look
<v Speaker 1>like it, but he's older than Brock. He goes, how
<v Speaker 1>old are you? And what is your name? So Truth
<v Speaker 1>told him, and he said that he's done with the disrespect.
<v Speaker 1>Brock said, he's here for one thing tonight. I'm looking
<v Speaker 1>for John Cena. Do you know where John Cena is tonight?
<v Speaker 1>Truth told him that he doesn't. Brock wanted to know again,
<v Speaker 1>why are you in the ring right now? I had
<v Speaker 1>the same question watching this, And Truth told him he
<v Speaker 1>was here to defend his older brother, John Cena, and
<v Speaker 1>your name is our Truth, And Truth said his name
<v Speaker 1>was Ron Sena. He's got a Ron Sena chan. So
<v Speaker 1>you don't know where John is? No, I don't, And
<v Speaker 1>so why are you here right now? I felt like
<v Speaker 1>I was in some sort of like infinite loop watching this,
<v Speaker 1>like are we gonna move the conversation alog here? We
<v Speaker 1>just gonna repeat ourselves over and over again. So he goes,
<v Speaker 1>I'm here to stop the disrespect. Brock John Cena is
<v Speaker 1>built different. He went crazy this year. He made a
<v Speaker 1>little kid cry, super Sena is coming for you, dog.
<v Speaker 1>And he's fueled by hustle, loyalty, respect, and two drops
<v Speaker 1>of those kids tears. So he won't be running from
<v Speaker 1>the beast, he'll be feeding on him. And you're his
<v Speaker 1>brother from another mother, says Brock says, no, we got
<v Speaker 1>the same daddy, ah comedy. Do you know that you're
<v Speaker 1>missing a tooth? He said, And before Truth could even
<v Speaker 1>answer him, he scooped him up on his shoulders and
<v Speaker 1>he gave him an F five. And this was all
<v Speaker 1>a colossal waste of time. But in giving him the
<v Speaker 1>F five, when Brock popped back up to his feet,
<v Speaker 1>he had split his pants, the back of his pants
<v Speaker 1>right down his ass crack. I mean, it wasn't like
<v Speaker 1>a little He split his fucking jeens. Okay, these weren't
<v Speaker 1>some flimsy, you know, shitty pants that he was wearing.
<v Speaker 1>He was out there wearing jeans and somehow I don't
<v Speaker 1>even know how you do that, honestly, but he split
<v Speaker 1>his jeans and like the way he jumped up, it
<v Speaker 1>was almost like his underwear rode up into his ass
<v Speaker 1>crack or something, and he immediately realized and he starts laughing,
<v Speaker 1>and you could see him he's kind of mouthing the words,
<v Speaker 1>I ripped my pads. And then he bends over because
<v Speaker 1>now he's like in his head, he's like, Okay, I
<v Speaker 1>gotta I gotta roll with the punches here. How do
<v Speaker 1>I how do I handle this? Right? So he bends
<v Speaker 1>over to uh to moon everybody full moon. You could
<v Speaker 1>see his blue underwear. I know that you know you
<v Speaker 1>watch for these details here. So then he danced a
<v Speaker 1>little jig. It's been a while since between Brock dance,
<v Speaker 1>remember Mariachi Brock from many years ago. So he dances
<v Speaker 1>a little bit in the ring as he's trying to
<v Speaker 1>figure out what to do here, and then he leaves
<v Speaker 1>the ring and as he's walking down the aisle, he's
<v Speaker 1>looking directly into the camera and he tells Stu the Hammerman.
<v Speaker 1>He goes, fucking stew I ripped my pants. Blue underwear,
<v Speaker 1>he said, and he smacked hands with the fans like
<v Speaker 1>he was a fucking baby face. As he walked to
<v Speaker 1>the back, Brock ripping his pants. He was wearing Batista's
<v Speaker 1>skinny jeans. Maybe so, maybe so, but still when to
<v Speaker 1>rip your pants is one thing. To rip your jeans though,
<v Speaker 1>Like that's impressive. Brock ripping his pants was the only
<v Speaker 1>entertaining thing about this segment outside of that this was
<v Speaker 1>a gigantic waste of time instead of actually hearing anything
<v Speaker 1>of substance from brock Lesner, who was headlining this first
<v Speaker 1>big ESPN event, right, this first this first big pl
<v Speaker 1>e on ESPN technically ESPN Unlimited, that's the name of
<v Speaker 1>the app. Instead of giving us any sort of real
<v Speaker 1>promo or explanation as to why this has been going
<v Speaker 1>on lie lately, what we got here was campy Vince
<v Speaker 1>McMahon comedy with him. In truth, I don't know what
<v Speaker 1>the point of that was. I mean, some fans had
<v Speaker 1>a nice laugh about it, okay, I mean it's an
<v Speaker 1>interesting choice taking this story, this storyline, this angle of
<v Speaker 1>all things and turning it into comedy. The real comedy, though,
<v Speaker 1>was one Brock split his pants. That was the most
<v Speaker 1>entertaining part of the entire segment, and that was the
<v Speaker 1>last time we saw brock Lesner for the rest of
<v Speaker 1>this show. I don't even know why they bothered even
<v Speaker 1>having him show up. Why even waste the brock lesnar
<v Speaker 1>appearance on this show if that's all you're gonna do
<v Speaker 1>with him. That's how they opened the show. After this,
<v Speaker 1>we had a vignette from Solo Socoa where he expressed
<v Speaker 1>anger he's by himself. We didn't see the other MFTs.
<v Speaker 1>He expressed anger about having lost his bloodline, he lost
<v Speaker 1>his Ulafalla, he lost his United States championship. I was
<v Speaker 1>waiting for him to say that he lost his smile
<v Speaker 1>as well, but he never said that. He vowed to
<v Speaker 1>take back what he lost, said that he lived in
<v Speaker 1>the shadows of others for far too long and it
<v Speaker 1>was time for others to live in the shadow of
<v Speaker 1>him and his family tree. The MFTs, I will say this,
<v Speaker 1>they definitely don't live in the shadows. I mean, they
<v Speaker 1>get at least what three or four segments on the
<v Speaker 1>show on most weeks. I'd like to banish them to
<v Speaker 1>the shadow realm for a while. They certainly aren't living
<v Speaker 1>in the shadows. I'll say that. In the back, Sammy's
<v Speaker 1>aim was talking to his latest challenger in the US
<v Speaker 1>Title Open Challenge. They kept the camera on Sammy, so
<v Speaker 1>we couldn't see at first who he was interacting with,
<v Speaker 1>but he said they're gonna have a hell of a
<v Speaker 1>match and he was looking forward to it. The camera
<v Speaker 1>panned over to show Ray Phoenix. Yes, the forgotten Lucha
<v Speaker 1>bro At least Pent actually gets television time on Monday.
<v Speaker 1>I can't say the same for Ray Phoenix, but he
<v Speaker 1>was there tonight and he shook hands with Sammy, and
<v Speaker 1>Sammy left and that led to our first match of
<v Speaker 1>the night, the best match of the night, the only
<v Speaker 1>match of the night that you really need to pay
<v Speaker 1>any attention to. Sammy's ain defending the United States Championship
<v Speaker 1>in this open challenge against Ray Phoenix. No booze for
<v Speaker 1>Sammy this week. I was waiting to see what the
<v Speaker 1>reaction would be. He was booed a lot in Chicago
<v Speaker 1>last week, and I just couldn't really understand why, and
<v Speaker 1>I figured it, if anything, I mean, it had more
<v Speaker 1>to do with just a very pro John Cena crowd
<v Speaker 1>in Chicago, and anybody who would have come out of
<v Speaker 1>that situation, or almost anybody probably would have been booed.
<v Speaker 1>It's the only thing I could really come up with.
<v Speaker 1>And so he comes out tonight, I said, that will
<v Speaker 1>be the test to see if that carries over into
<v Speaker 1>other cities, and it did not, so there were no
<v Speaker 1>booze for Sammy's ain tonight, although oh, I will say
<v Speaker 1>they went to commercial ninety seconds into this match, and
<v Speaker 1>during the break the crowd did start a very loud
<v Speaker 1>let's go Phoenix chant, but that's different than booing Sammy.
<v Speaker 1>Coming out of the break, Sammy hit a beautiful tilted
<v Speaker 1>whirl backbreaker that only got him a two count. Phoenix
<v Speaker 1>then countered out of a blue thunderbomb with a head
<v Speaker 1>scissors into a pin only for two. After that, a
<v Speaker 1>super kick buckled Sammy Phoenix fell down on top of him,
<v Speaker 1>only got a two count. Phoenix, then headed up top
<v Speaker 1>he crashed and burned on a moon salt. Sammy went
<v Speaker 1>for a halluva kick Phoenix, though moved, he did a
<v Speaker 1>forward roll into this great DDT and both men were
<v Speaker 1>down heading into the second commercial break. During the break,
<v Speaker 1>they were on the ropes. Sammy hit a sunset bomb
<v Speaker 1>only for a near fall, So we got a chance
<v Speaker 1>of this is awesome. Not the first. Oh actually this
<v Speaker 1>was the first, but not the only time in this
<v Speaker 1>match that you would hear the fans chanting that. Sammy
<v Speaker 1>headed back up to the top. As he came down,
<v Speaker 1>he fucking ate a super kick here from Ray Phoenix
<v Speaker 1>for a great near fall and a close one, so
<v Speaker 1>much so that poor referee got chance of ref You suck.
<v Speaker 1>Sammy got to his knees and he ate a couple
<v Speaker 1>of kicks to the chest, like yes kicks, and it
<v Speaker 1>looked like it was just making a med but then
<v Speaker 1>Phoenix delivered one, just flushed right to the face, and
<v Speaker 1>Sammy went down. They came back out of the break
<v Speaker 1>and they ended up back on the ropes again. It
<v Speaker 1>looked like Sammy was gonna go. It looked like he
<v Speaker 1>was actually setting up maybe for like an avalanche, you know,
<v Speaker 1>attitude adjustment or something. Phoenix got free, and so with
<v Speaker 1>Sammy still sitting on the ropes, but he was sort
<v Speaker 1>of bent over, like hunched forward, Phoenix jumped over his head,
<v Speaker 1>double stumped the back of his neck and then landed
<v Speaker 1>on his feet in the ring. And then he followed
<v Speaker 1>that with a springboard moonsalt onto Sammy and he covered him.
<v Speaker 1>Sammy kicked out, so now they went at it. Phoenix
<v Speaker 1>hit the ropes. Now picture Jay Lethal going for the
<v Speaker 1>lethal injection right, Phoenix hits the ropes in the same way,
<v Speaker 1>but when he comes off the rope, Sammy catches him
<v Speaker 1>and spins him, drops him with a blue thunderbomb for
<v Speaker 1>another great near fall. So these two, I mean, at
<v Speaker 1>this point in the match, here, these two were cooking
<v Speaker 1>with oil. Sammy caught him, he gave him an exploder
<v Speaker 1>into the corner. Now he's setting up for the Halluva kick.
<v Speaker 1>He's setting up for the kill shot. Here as he
<v Speaker 1>came in, though, Phoenix jumped up, took him over with irana,
<v Speaker 1>had his legs hooked forward. Sammy, though kicked out, so
<v Speaker 1>we got more chance of this is awesome. This is
<v Speaker 1>indeed awesome. Phoenix hit the Goodbye Amigo kick, then came
<v Speaker 1>into the corner for another kick. This kick missed, though,
<v Speaker 1>and Sammy gave him another exploder, and this time he
<v Speaker 1>would not be denied. The Halluva kick connects and then
<v Speaker 1>into the cover and Sammy Zaying retained the United States
<v Speaker 1>Championship and all I wrote on Twitter when this match
<v Speaker 1>was over, although again it's probably a pointless exercise because again,
<v Speaker 1>like I said before, reading comprehension of a door knob.
<v Speaker 1>But I wrote on Twitter. What a fucking match, What
<v Speaker 1>a fucking match this was here? And I'll tell you
<v Speaker 1>what more. I don't know how long they're going to
<v Speaker 1>drag this open challenge gimmick out for. It may just
<v Speaker 1>be for a few weeks. It could be for a
<v Speaker 1>couple of months, right, we don't know. You give us
<v Speaker 1>more matches like the one that we got here on
<v Speaker 1>this show. This will rival potentially, if not exceed, the
<v Speaker 1>quality of the John cena Us Title Open Challenge that
<v Speaker 1>we got ten years ago. If you give us more
<v Speaker 1>matches like this, this was tremendous stuff. And I think
<v Speaker 1>about other potential opponents for Sammy. You really want to
<v Speaker 1>have fun with this open challenge here and get him
<v Speaker 1>in the ring with guys that maybe he just hasn't
<v Speaker 1>worked with before, like tonight, right, he had never worked
<v Speaker 1>with Ray Phoenix before. One on one. You've got androde
<v Speaker 1>right Phoenix is I guess now former tag team partner
<v Speaker 1>who also has been just out of the picture, not
<v Speaker 1>seen for a while, really not seen since the TLC
<v Speaker 1>match at SummerSlam. Why not get Sammy in there with
<v Speaker 1>Andrade for a match? Why not get him in there
<v Speaker 1>with a Nathan Fraser? Why not get him in there
<v Speaker 1>with axiom. Carmelo Hayes is an obvious one. Carmelo Hayes
<v Speaker 1>is the next one because in a backstage segment later
<v Speaker 1>in the show, Hayes confronted Sammy and said I got next.
<v Speaker 1>Finally he smartened up. He's been trying to get a
<v Speaker 1>word with Nick Aldus for weeks now and all this
<v Speaker 1>keeps blowing him off, and then the Miz gets involved.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, dude, after last week, Sammy opened this challenge
<v Speaker 1>up to anybody, I'm like, how dumb is Carmelo Hayes
<v Speaker 1>gonna look knowing this? If he doesn't just go right
<v Speaker 1>to the source. I'm like, dude, just either confront him
<v Speaker 1>in the back, or if Sammy comes out and throws
<v Speaker 1>it open to anybody, you'd be the first one to
<v Speaker 1>walk out. Like, if Carmelo Hayes is not the first
<v Speaker 1>person or one of the first people to, you know, again,
<v Speaker 1>accept this open challenge, it's like, what are we doing here?
<v Speaker 1>So he wasn't the first, but I was happy that
<v Speaker 1>he actually went up to Sammy in the back and
<v Speaker 1>said I got next, and Sammy said, okay, don't miss
<v Speaker 1>So then mis showed up. He was not happy when
<v Speaker 1>he found out that Hayes had done this. He didn't
<v Speaker 1>think that he's ready to be the United States Champion
<v Speaker 1>because Miss of course in the past has been the
<v Speaker 1>United States Champion and he's more interested in them going
<v Speaker 1>after the tag team titles. But he was not happy
<v Speaker 1>about this. That seems like a very bad sign for
<v Speaker 1>Carmelo Hayes next week. I am not expecting Carmelo Hayes
<v Speaker 1>to win the United States Championship. But it's a first step.
<v Speaker 1>We'll see where it leads to. But it's a first step.
<v Speaker 1>This open Challenge, I'll tell you what though, would also
<v Speaker 1>be good as a way to introduce a new talent
<v Speaker 1>from NXT and so a couple of the names that
<v Speaker 1>I immediately come to mind for me Ethan Page, Evans,
<v Speaker 1>and it doesn't have to be like a full time
<v Speaker 1>call up. Javon is not somebody I would call up
<v Speaker 1>full time just yet. Ethan Page is absolutely ready to
<v Speaker 1>be called up. I've seen some of the stuff that
<v Speaker 1>he's been doing with Chelsea Green, and I do think
<v Speaker 1>that that could be a main event act on SmackDown.
<v Speaker 1>I would actually love to see them paired up together.
<v Speaker 1>I think that would be good for both. So someone
<v Speaker 1>like even Paige, absolutely I could see him on the
<v Speaker 1>main roster today. Ricky Saints is another one, but he's
<v Speaker 1>obviously involved with I guess Obafemi right now. But yeah,
<v Speaker 1>like someone like that, or a Javon Evans or I
<v Speaker 1>mean whoever. I mean, name whoever you want. But you
<v Speaker 1>can really throw it open to a whole bunch of
<v Speaker 1>different people and all it takes is one standout match
<v Speaker 1>like the one we had tonight to really you know,
<v Speaker 1>make an impact here on this show. So this was
<v Speaker 1>this was tremendous stuff. Though as far as and I
<v Speaker 1>just hope that Phoenix does not get you know, banished
<v Speaker 1>back to Catering and we don't see him again for
<v Speaker 1>six weeks. My thing is, if you're not going to
<v Speaker 1>do anything with Phoenix, it would be better to just
<v Speaker 1>put the Luca bros. Together. Yeah, it looked like they
<v Speaker 1>were really pushing Pent as a single there for a while,
<v Speaker 1>and maybe they had plans for him, maybe with the
<v Speaker 1>Intercontinental title, which he ended up not winning. Unless there's
<v Speaker 1>some sort of solid singles planned for him coming up
<v Speaker 1>real soon, I think both of them would be well
<v Speaker 1>served to just be put back together as a tag
<v Speaker 1>team and let them have a tag run together. Right now,
<v Speaker 1>you could still do singles with them, but I think
<v Speaker 1>Penta and Phoenix reunited would be much better. It would
<v Speaker 1>be good for both of them, but it would be
<v Speaker 1>much better for Phoenix because it's very clear they don't
<v Speaker 1>really have a real plan for him Penta. They have
<v Speaker 1>him doing stuff with New Day and Grace and Waller,
<v Speaker 1>which is not terribly interesting, but at least it's something Phoenix,
<v Speaker 1>especially after a performance like this, Phoenix deserves more. He
<v Speaker 1>needs something that might just be it. So they aired
<v Speaker 1>a video here, one of these VHS style videos with
<v Speaker 1>Bo Dallas and the rest of the wy AT six,
<v Speaker 1>and Bo asked where the street profits go from here
<v Speaker 1>now that they failed their test. Eric Rowan said that
<v Speaker 1>he was sad to see Tez and Dawkins acting this way,
<v Speaker 1>but it's common for people to not see what they
<v Speaker 1>have until it's gone. Dallas said that they were the
<v Speaker 1>ones who sow the seeds that sprouted horns, and then
<v Speaker 1>he tells us to follow the buzzards. Sure, sure, okay.
<v Speaker 1>In the back earlier today, they showed Julia and Keana
<v Speaker 1>James confronting beefab talked about them stepping up to her
<v Speaker 1>girl Mitchen, and Julia said that she could talk smack
<v Speaker 1>if she can back it up in the ring tonight.
<v Speaker 1>And that brings us to our next match, which was
<v Speaker 1>not a championship match, and actually it wasn't a match
<v Speaker 1>at all as it turned, but it was supposed to
<v Speaker 1>be Julia one on one against BFAB. That's not what
<v Speaker 1>we got though. Instead, what we got here before the
<v Speaker 1>match could even start, Julia and Keana they assaulted Beefab.
<v Speaker 1>They tossed her into the barricade. Back in the ring,
<v Speaker 1>James was stomping on Beefab. Julia delivered a running a
<v Speaker 1>Rivederci knee to the face. She then bent Bfab's arms
<v Speaker 1>behind her back and was holding her with her arms
<v Speaker 1>behind her back like she was about to give her
<v Speaker 1>a curb stump. Before she could do anything, though, she
<v Speaker 1>was frozen in her tracks by music. It was Miechen's music.
<v Speaker 1>And Michen comes running out and Julia sends Keana to
<v Speaker 1>go take care of her. So Keana leaves the ring,
<v Speaker 1>and Michen, of course has a kendo stick, which is
<v Speaker 1>every woman's weapon of choice here in WWE, so she
<v Speaker 1>whacks Keana across the ribs with it she gets in
<v Speaker 1>the ring. She took a swing at Julia, Julia duckt
<v Speaker 1>and escaped the ring to safety. I cannot be mad
<v Speaker 1>that we did not get b FAB in the ring
<v Speaker 1>tonight against Julia. I can't say that I was greatly
<v Speaker 1>looking forward to this match, although it would be nice
<v Speaker 1>to see Julia wrestling on a regular basis. But it
<v Speaker 1>wasn't much of a segment either. It sets up an
<v Speaker 1>obvious tag team match. If that's the direction they want
<v Speaker 1>to go in, you do meechin in BFAB against Julia
<v Speaker 1>and Keana. I mean, I've said my piece on Julia.
<v Speaker 1>What more is there to say? This is just she's
<v Speaker 1>in mid card hell right now in WWA, and the
<v Speaker 1>mid card is not always a terrible place to be,
<v Speaker 1>but the mid card is very hit or miss. You
<v Speaker 1>can have a mid card feud that actually is interesting
<v Speaker 1>and engaging and can be used to try to elevate
<v Speaker 1>somebody so that one day they are in the main event.
<v Speaker 1>You could have a mid card feud that clearly is
<v Speaker 1>being put together because we have to do something and
<v Speaker 1>we don't know what to do. That's kind of what
<v Speaker 1>this feels like. She may be the United States Champion.
<v Speaker 1>But what they have done with Julius since she left
<v Speaker 1>NX and came to the main roster to do has
<v Speaker 1>been underwhelming. And I'm being polite when I say that.
<v Speaker 1>They aired a video with a WrestleMania Saudi announcement from
<v Speaker 1>earlier today where everybody was making different comments about how
<v Speaker 1>great it is and the biggest of all time and
<v Speaker 1>all the things that you would expect them to say
<v Speaker 1>to build up an announcement like this. More on all
<v Speaker 1>this this Sunday on SoundOff nine twenty nine. Then we
<v Speaker 1>got an Alistair Black video where he warned that he
<v Speaker 1>is the sickness and the cure for Damian Priest, who
<v Speaker 1>he beat on last week's show. They can keep fighting
<v Speaker 1>because of Priest's code and die by it, and he
<v Speaker 1>calls himself the profit of violence. After this, we had
<v Speaker 1>our second championship match of the evening, Tiffany Stratton defending
<v Speaker 1>the WWE Women's Championship against Jade Cargill. This was a
<v Speaker 1>rematch from SummerSlam. Aid immediately went for a pump kick,
<v Speaker 1>Stratton avoided it. Jade tried to lift her up got
<v Speaker 1>met with a high dropkick, so Cargil got the advantage
<v Speaker 1>with a power slam, followed that up with a supplex
<v Speaker 1>attempt that Tiffany was able to avoid. Jade ended up
<v Speaker 1>outside the ring, which allowed Tiffany to vault over the
<v Speaker 1>top rope with a dive that took us into the
<v Speaker 1>commercial break. So Jay delivered a fallaway slam coming out
<v Speaker 1>of the brake, kicked right back up to her feet.
<v Speaker 1>Stratton fired back with a spinebuster. Both women are down.
<v Speaker 1>Jade attempts a power bomb. Stratton, though, reverses into a
<v Speaker 1>head scissors. Tiffany did a flipping back elbow, you know,
<v Speaker 1>the handspring elbow that she does, and a double stomp.
<v Speaker 1>She finished the combo off with a top rope swanton
<v Speaker 1>bomb for a near fall. And again, I know I've
<v Speaker 1>said this before, she does the swan tom bomb and
<v Speaker 1>she waits until the last possible second to tuck her
<v Speaker 1>head on the landing. And and I'm just telling you
<v Speaker 1>she every time she does that, she is tempting fate.
<v Speaker 1>It looks like she's doing she's about to face plan
<v Speaker 1>like a javelin, right into the mat. Tiffany set up
<v Speaker 1>for the prettiest moon Salt ever. Jade, though was able
<v Speaker 1>to shove her shove her down as she scaled the ropes,
<v Speaker 1>so she had a power bomb out of the corner
<v Speaker 1>and covered for a near fall. Jade went for a
<v Speaker 1>choked slam, Stratton rolled through for two. She followed with
<v Speaker 1>an Alabama slam. Stratton went for another Moon Salt, but
<v Speaker 1>Jade rolled out of the way and she delivered. Jade
<v Speaker 1>did this great looking pumpkick. So now both women were down.
<v Speaker 1>They traded strikes out on the apron. Jade went for
<v Speaker 1>a spear, ended up posting herself shoulder first. Tiffany went
<v Speaker 1>up top, missed the moon Salt to the floor. She
<v Speaker 1>looked like she smacked her head real good on the
<v Speaker 1>landing there. As Jade got up, she speared Tiffany. Both
<v Speaker 1>women went crashing through the time key Deeper's barricade. Meanwhile,
<v Speaker 1>the referee had been counting the entire time. Now both
<v Speaker 1>women are down, referee counts ten throws the match away.
<v Speaker 1>This match is a double count out, and the fans booed.
<v Speaker 1>They were not happy about that. They would be less
<v Speaker 1>happy about what came next because after it was over,
<v Speaker 1>a wild Naya Jacks appeared at ringside. She attacked both women.
<v Speaker 1>She sent Jade into the ring steps and then delivered
<v Speaker 1>a Samoan drop on the floor. Then she brought Stratton
<v Speaker 1>into the ring and hit an annihilator, and so at
<v Speaker 1>the end of this Women's Championship match, the last woman
<v Speaker 1>standing at the end of all this was Nya jacks
<v Speaker 1>So we're back to Nya Jackson, Tiffity Stratton with a
<v Speaker 1>little sprinkle of Jade Cargill thrown in there. So there's
<v Speaker 1>a triple threat match incoming very soon. I don't know
<v Speaker 1>that they're going to add that to the Wrestle Polooza card.
<v Speaker 1>They could, but it just feels like probably going to
<v Speaker 1>be a SmackDown match at some point. What else do
<v Speaker 1>they have right now? Now? I look at this and
<v Speaker 1>I grown, just because we've been there, done that with
<v Speaker 1>all three of these women, but especially Tiffany and Naya,
<v Speaker 1>and even some of their matches were not bad matches,
<v Speaker 1>but like, been there, done that, and it just feels
<v Speaker 1>like we're rolling down the hill backwards here. But then
<v Speaker 1>I think, and I look at the roster that they
<v Speaker 1>have on SmackDown with the women right now, and I just,
<v Speaker 1>you know, I kind of throw my hands up in
<v Speaker 1>the air, like, well, what else are they supposed to
<v Speaker 1>do right now. They don't have any depth at the
<v Speaker 1>top of the food chain in this women's division on
<v Speaker 1>Friday nights. Bianca Belle air is, I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>she's cleared and they're just waiting for a chance to
<v Speaker 1>bring her back if she's still not cleared with the finger,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know what's going on there. All I know
<v Speaker 1>is that she has been out of the ring since
<v Speaker 1>April and she has been sorely missed on this show,
<v Speaker 1>at least by me, she has. And even if they
<v Speaker 1>were to get her back very soon, it's still not enough.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, there are changes that have to be made here,
<v Speaker 1>whether it's moving one or two people over from Raw,
<v Speaker 1>whether it's calling one or two people up from NXT,
<v Speaker 1>because it's not like they have, you know, a lack
<v Speaker 1>of female talent in the pipeline down there. Soul Ruka
<v Speaker 1>could be on SmackDown right now, Jordan Grace could absolutely
<v Speaker 1>be on SmackDown right now. Blake Monroe could be on
<v Speaker 1>SmackDown right now. Take your pick. You don't need all three,
<v Speaker 1>you know, one to start would be okay, that would
<v Speaker 1>be nice, But they've got to make some changes here
<v Speaker 1>because the women's title scene on this show really for
<v Speaker 1>both titles, very very weak. And it's too bad about
<v Speaker 1>the finish here because I actually thought they were having
<v Speaker 1>a good match before that. I would even put it
<v Speaker 1>slightly above the match they had at Summer Slam, although
<v Speaker 1>they were very similar matches and about the same length.
<v Speaker 1>This one might have been a couple minutes longer if
<v Speaker 1>I had one thing I could compliment them on. They
<v Speaker 1>were able to hold off on sending Naya out there
<v Speaker 1>until the match was already over. Not that it was
<v Speaker 1>much better than a double count out finish, but Naya
<v Speaker 1>did not interfere in the match. They waited until the
<v Speaker 1>match was over, and then she came out and did
<v Speaker 1>her business. This week's episode is sponsored by Express VPN.
<v Speaker 1>Did you know that there are over eighteen thousand titles
<v Speaker 1>on Netflix worldwide? Yet if you live here where I
<v Speaker 1>am in the United States, you're only seeing about seven
<v Speaker 1>thousand of those titles. That's less than half. If you
<v Speaker 1>want to watch the other eleven thousand, you'll have to
<v Speaker 1>find them on another streaming service, and you pay for
<v Speaker 1>enough of those as it is. It's almost like paying
<v Speaker 1>a tariff just because you want to see a movie.
<v Speaker 1>Only difference is you have a way to get around
<v Speaker 1>these tariffs and get the full experience that you deserve.
<v Speaker 1>That is, with ExpressVPN. Netflix actually hides content from you.
<v Speaker 1>Believe this, They hide content from you based on your location.
<v Speaker 1>ExpressVPN allows you to change your virtual locations so that
<v Speaker 1>you control where you want Netflix to think you're located.

<v Speaker 1>you stream a HD, and it works across all of
<v Speaker 1>your devices, phones, laptops, tablets, smart TVs, you name it.
<v Speaker 1>There's a reason ExpressVPN is ranked number one by top
<v Speaker 1>tech reviewers like c Net and The Verge. Two of
<v Speaker 1>my favorite movies of all time are The Shawshank Redemption
<v Speaker 1>and The Dark Knight. And a lot of you know
<v Speaker 1>about The Dark Knight because I talk about it a lot.
<v Speaker 1>I can't watch either one of them on Netflix in
<v Speaker 1>the US right now, but with my ExpressVPN, I tapped
<v Speaker 1>one button to connect to a server in Australia and
<v Speaker 1>I'm watching Shawshank it again. I mean, I'm running around
<v Speaker 1>with the kangaroos and stuff, and I'm watching Shawshank Redemption
<v Speaker 1>on my phone. It worked like a charm. The Dark Night.
<v Speaker 1>I can watch that movie over and over again, never
<v Speaker 1>get bored of it. Not on Netflix here, but when
<v Speaker 1>I connected to a server in Japan, I got me
<v Speaker 1>some Batman and Joker. I always wanted to visit Japan.
<v Speaker 1>This may be as close as I ever get, but
<v Speaker 1>at least now I have access to my favorite movie.
<v Speaker 1>And again it's super easy. I just open the ExpressVPN app,
<v Speaker 1>I type in Japan, the server comes up, I click
<v Speaker 1>one button to connect to it, and in less than
<v Speaker 1>three seconds, I'm transported halfway across the world. Then I
<v Speaker 1>just refresh my Netflix and the movies are there, So

<v Speaker 1>This walked out of his office, he was accosted by
<v Speaker 1>Chelsea Green and Alba Fire who were leaning up against
<v Speaker 1>the wall waiting for him to come out, and they
<v Speaker 1>demanded a women's tag Team Championship match, and all This
<v Speaker 1>proposed that the two of them faced the winners of
<v Speaker 1>the tag team title match that is taking place next
<v Speaker 1>Tuesday at the NXT homecoming show. NXT is back at
<v Speaker 1>Full Sale University for those who don't know, that's the
<v Speaker 1>period where I first started watching NXT full time and
<v Speaker 1>became an NXT fan, the old Full Sale days. They're
<v Speaker 1>going to be back there. It's kind of like an
<v Speaker 1>anniversary show on Tuesday, and Charlotte and Alexa are going
<v Speaker 1>to be defending the women's tag team titles against the
<v Speaker 1>Culling Tatum Paxley an isy Dame. So he said, the
<v Speaker 1>winners of that match, you guys can get them for
<v Speaker 1>the tag team titles, and they were very happy about that.
<v Speaker 1>Where is Piper Niven She's still gone, She's still missing.
<v Speaker 1>There's something going on with Piper nivin. I don't know
<v Speaker 1>what it is, but there's definitely something going on there.
<v Speaker 1>After this, they aired a long video package on the
<v Speaker 1>history between John Cena and Brock Lesner, and this was
<v Speaker 1>narrated by Joe tessitour like something you would see before
<v Speaker 1>a big boxing fight on ESPN if they were doing
<v Speaker 1>some sort of history package, and it covered their beginnings
<v Speaker 1>in OVW. They even had some training footage of them
<v Speaker 1>in the ring at OVW training together and shaking hands
<v Speaker 1>at one point. They covered the move for each to WWE,
<v Speaker 1>their Backlash match from two thousand and three, Lesner's exit
<v Speaker 1>from the company in two thousand and four, and Seina
<v Speaker 1>taking the torch as the face of the company after
<v Speaker 1>he left, and they promoted Part two will be coming
<v Speaker 1>up on the show next week, which is going to
<v Speaker 1>be twenty four hours before Wressell Palooza. So it was
<v Speaker 1>a good history lesson, especially for fans who may not
<v Speaker 1>be familiar with their past together. But this one segment
<v Speaker 1>was better than anything that John Cena or Brock Lesnar
<v Speaker 1>themselves have done in the last few weeks to actually
<v Speaker 1>promote this match at Wressell Palooza. It just shouldn't be
<v Speaker 1>that way. You know, they're just relying on their star power,
<v Speaker 1>That's really all it is. They're relying on the fact
<v Speaker 1>that they have history together, two major names, a lot
<v Speaker 1>of star power there, Brock's first match back in over
<v Speaker 1>two years. There. It is by the show like they
<v Speaker 1>have done the absolute bare minimum, and even that I
<v Speaker 1>don't even think they clear that benchmark in terms of
<v Speaker 1>what they've done with these two. So the video package here,
<v Speaker 1>the history lesson they gave us was better than all
<v Speaker 1>of that, all the segments they've been a part of
<v Speaker 1>put together. It's pathetic. They went backstage in Vegas where
<v Speaker 1>raymus Steer was he was being interviewed. This was at
<v Speaker 1>the World's Collide Show, which again is taking place as
<v Speaker 1>we speak right now. As he was being interviewed, Dominic
<v Speaker 1>Mysterio walked in said that he would be the first
<v Speaker 1>Mysterio to be the Mega Champion. He told his deadbeat
<v Speaker 1>Dad that if he wins, I need you to come
<v Speaker 1>out and put the title strap the title around my waist.
<v Speaker 1>So Ray said sure if you win, and Dom said
<v Speaker 1>when he wins. So Ray left and Finn Baalor walked
<v Speaker 1>in because Finn Balor has a match on the show
<v Speaker 1>as well, and Balor said that Dom would prove that
<v Speaker 1>he's the greatest luchador of all time when he won
<v Speaker 1>the title alone. Good luck. They closed the show. Is
<v Speaker 1>the end of SmackDown already? They closed the show with
<v Speaker 1>Randy Orton one on one against Drew McIntyre. Orton set
<v Speaker 1>McIntyre crashing into the outside or crashing outside with a
<v Speaker 1>clothes line out over the top. They went to a
<v Speaker 1>break early in the match. During the break, Orton was
<v Speaker 1>in the ring and he's shaking his leg out and
<v Speaker 1>he's teasing that he may have tweaked his knee. Might
<v Speaker 1>be some issue there with the knee. So Orton hit
<v Speaker 1>some Garvin stumps and a running knee drop. He grabbed
<v Speaker 1>at his knee again. McIntyre noticed this. He took control
<v Speaker 1>by kicking the leg and then delivering a chop block.
<v Speaker 1>He drove his shoulder into the bad knee he applied
<v Speaker 1>a figure four. Orton reversed the hole to reverse the pressure.
<v Speaker 1>McIntyre was able to roll to the ropes. The action
<v Speaker 1>spilled outside. They battled near the announced desk. McIntyre suplexed
<v Speaker 1>Orton onto the announced desk and then hit another chop
<v Speaker 1>block on the floor, and that took us into yet
<v Speaker 1>another commercial break. McIntyre continued to target the bad knee.
<v Speaker 1>He went for another figure four. Orton, though, shoved him
<v Speaker 1>into the ring post and he hit a power slam
<v Speaker 1>and the crowd fired up. Orton set up for a
<v Speaker 1>draping DDT. McIntyre escaped to the floor. Orton followed him out.
<v Speaker 1>He returned the favor superlex back and tire onto the
<v Speaker 1>announced desk, and then he did it again after the
<v Speaker 1>crowd chatted one more time, so he obliged. Orton was
<v Speaker 1>very sluggish getting back in the ring, kind of like
<v Speaker 1>the pace of this match, and McIntyre delivered a Claymore kick,
<v Speaker 1>but he rolled to the floor. Orton came back. He
<v Speaker 1>delivered an RKO after McIntyre tossed him back into the ring,
<v Speaker 1>but then drew rolled to the apron, so Orton pulled
<v Speaker 1>him back in with a draping DDT and then he
<v Speaker 1>got that look in his eyes, got that look in
<v Speaker 1>his eyes. He set up for the punt kick, but
<v Speaker 1>the referee jumped in the way to stop him. McIntyre
<v Speaker 1>used that distraction to shove Orton towards the referee in
<v Speaker 1>the corner. Orton stopped short so he didn't squash him.
<v Speaker 1>But then he turned around right into another Claymore and
<v Speaker 1>Drew McIntyre pins Randy Orton. So after the match is over,
<v Speaker 1>Drew set up Orton next to the announced desk. He
<v Speaker 1>was going to go for a third Claymore kick, but
<v Speaker 1>he had him set up kind of by the bottom part.
<v Speaker 1>He was gonna do to him what he did to
<v Speaker 1>Cody Rhads. Enter Cody Roads, They hit his music and
<v Speaker 1>outcomes Gile himself, the WWE champion. Done with filming, time
<v Speaker 1>to get back to this wrestling thing. He charges down
<v Speaker 1>to the ring, sprints down to the ring. You know,
<v Speaker 1>I have to say, how very nice of him to
<v Speaker 1>wait in the back very patiently all night, all match
<v Speaker 1>until we had ninety seconds left in this show to
<v Speaker 1>finally make his grand return, just sitting in the gorilla
<v Speaker 1>position the entire time, having a snack watching the show.
<v Speaker 1>Finally he comes out. He sprints into the rings, a
<v Speaker 1>very patient man. He sprints into the ring, he attacks McIntyre.
<v Speaker 1>He drops him with a Cody cutter. Cody then took
<v Speaker 1>the mic said the champ is back and he would
<v Speaker 1>see McIntyre at Wressel Paulooza. Emphasize, he really emphasized the
<v Speaker 1>Palooza part Wressell Palooza. So that match is now official.
<v Speaker 1>It'll be Cody Rhoades defending the WWE Championship on that
<v Speaker 1>show against Drew McIntyre. We got a good fifteen minutes
<v Speaker 1>or so here of working the knee. We got fifteen
<v Speaker 1>minutes of working the body part. And for all of
<v Speaker 1>those fifteen minutes of working the knee, it did not
<v Speaker 1>even play a role in the finish of this match.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know what the point of that was. I
<v Speaker 1>really don't. I don't. It's not even like when Orton
<v Speaker 1>went for the punk kick he kind of tripped because
<v Speaker 1>the knee gave out on him. Nope, fifteen minutes of
<v Speaker 1>working on the knee and it didn't even factor into
<v Speaker 1>anything in the end. There was nothing. And look, there's
<v Speaker 1>nothing wrong with working a body part in the match.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, Orton has certainly made a career out of
<v Speaker 1>that type of ring psychology, and there's nothing inherently wrong
<v Speaker 1>with that. But I just thought here, it made for
<v Speaker 1>a very dull match. You know, you do the methodical
<v Speaker 1>tight match and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
<v Speaker 1>This was a solid match, but it really you know,
<v Speaker 1>for a big match like this, it wasn't anything out
<v Speaker 1>of the ordinary that you wouldn't see in your average
<v Speaker 1>SmackDown main event. I expected the Cody return here. That
<v Speaker 1>was not a surprise. He had to return here. They
<v Speaker 1>had no choice if they're going to have him wrestling
<v Speaker 1>at Wressell Paluza, which of course they're going to because
<v Speaker 1>he's the WWE champion. It's your first ESPN show. Why
<v Speaker 1>the hell would he not be on that show. If
<v Speaker 1>you're going to have him wrestling and defending the title
<v Speaker 1>on that show tonight, he had to come back. Next
<v Speaker 1>week is too late, you know, you need at least
<v Speaker 1>one more week to promote that match. So he came back.
<v Speaker 1>He made the save for Orton before Orton was going
<v Speaker 1>to get his head caved in and Drew was going
<v Speaker 1>to do the same thing to him that he had
<v Speaker 1>done to Cody, and then Cody made the match official.
<v Speaker 1>Question now is what role, if any, does Randy Orton
<v Speaker 1>play in this match at Wressell Paloozo. Right? Maybe he does,
<v Speaker 1>maybe he doesn't. I don't know. But as far as
<v Speaker 1>this show here, look some solid inring action on the
<v Speaker 1>show with this and the women's title match. But honestly,
<v Speaker 1>the only things of any real note were the Sammy's
<v Speaker 1>Ain match, which was excellent, and the return of Cody Rhoades,
<v Speaker 1>which they rushed through at the very end, literally the
<v Speaker 1>last ninety seconds of the show. They rushed through it.
<v Speaker 1>They were right at the very end. Other than that,
<v Speaker 1>not much to the show. Very disappointed with their use
<v Speaker 1>of brock Lesner here. You know, look when the best
<v Speaker 1>thing I can say about it is that he split
<v Speaker 1>his pants and laughed about it. I mean that pretty
<v Speaker 1>much tells you everything you need to know about their
<v Speaker 1>use of brock Lesnar on this show. What did you
<v Speaker 1>think of SmackDown from Norfolk, Virginia. Here's the Twitter poll
<v Speaker 1>right now, sixty six point six soh oh the mark
<v Speaker 1>of the Beast sixty sixty six thirty three point four
<v Speaker 1>percent thumbs down. So that is the pole so far.
<v Speaker 1>Let's go through super chats and then we got some
<v Speaker 1>to go through here Gile Guile from Street Fighter. We
<v Speaker 1>are at two hundred and eighty two likes, so be
<v Speaker 1>the booker will not be happening tonight. Very disappointing. Let's
<v Speaker 1>see here. Well again, I mentioned Boots at the beginning.
<v Speaker 1>Boots had that big one bombs, so Boots, who may
<v Speaker 1>or may not be passed out at this point. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know where he is, but Boots, thank you, brother.
<v Speaker 1>I can find your message here there it is. It
<v Speaker 1>may be the surveysa talking, but I get a kick
<v Speaker 1>out of Ludwig Kai, I mean Grande Americano singing Si
<v Speaker 1>Alito Lindo. I could use the surveysor right about now,
<v Speaker 1>Joseph Stewart buy or sell Woody or buzz Lightyear. Joseph
<v Speaker 1>just thought this was such an exciting show tonight on
<v Speaker 1>USA Network that he decided, you know what I'm gonna
<v Speaker 1>ask about toy Story and Woody and buzz Lightyear. Boots
<v Speaker 1>on the floor, Yeah, Steve says, Boots on the floor.
<v Speaker 1>Oh man, me, I gotta go buzz light Year. I
<v Speaker 1>think buzz light Year is cool. How different would Sid's
<v Speaker 1>career have been if he was the one to beat
<v Speaker 1>Vader at Stark ninety three for the world title. You
<v Speaker 1>know what, I honestly don't think it would have made
<v Speaker 1>that much of a difference. I think that there would
<v Speaker 1>have been some inevitable falling out, he would have left,
<v Speaker 1>he would have ended up in WWE, and he would
<v Speaker 1>have won the championship there. I don't see Sid as
<v Speaker 1>the world champion at that point in time in WCW,
<v Speaker 1>leading to some sort of business resurgence for WCW. I
<v Speaker 1>don't think it would have changed his career radically. What
<v Speaker 1>is your favorite Billy Kidman match in WCW? Is that
<v Speaker 1>a trick question? I wish I could tell you that
<v Speaker 1>The implication there is that I have one Holiday one
<v Speaker 1>ninety seven. Hey Solo, what are your thoughts on WrestleMania
<v Speaker 1>being in Saudi and the reports that they're aiming to
<v Speaker 1>bring back Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Rock and Stone Cold for
<v Speaker 1>this pay per view? Well? I will talk more about
<v Speaker 1>it on Sunday, but I think that is very stupid.
<v Speaker 1>We need to be going forwards, we do not need
<v Speaker 1>to be going backwards. So that part of the report,
<v Speaker 1>which is all rumor right now. A lot of it
<v Speaker 1>came from Meltzer in The Observer, but I think that's
<v Speaker 1>very stupid. I have no interest in seeing really, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>most of those people, frankly back in the ring. And
<v Speaker 1>keep in mind we're talking not even this year or
<v Speaker 1>next year. Two years from now, they'll all be two
<v Speaker 1>years older than they are now. I certainly have no
<v Speaker 1>interest whatsoever in seeing Undertaker back in the ring that
<v Speaker 1>I can tell you. Joseph Stewart, do you remember when
<v Speaker 1>David Flair, Daphne and Crowbar were a trio in WCW
<v Speaker 1>in late nineteen ninety nine. I do, I do, and
<v Speaker 1>I actually covered that in the Dark Side of the
<v Speaker 1>Ring episode on Her that they did on Daphne. He
<v Speaker 1>also says I heard a rumor that Keana James has
<v Speaker 1>heat in WWE backstage. Do you know if it's true.
<v Speaker 1>I've not heard anything like that, so I'm going to say, no,
<v Speaker 1>it is not true. Face Bears will get annual Arabian
<v Speaker 1>WrestleMania's they can afford it. I'll tell you what if
<v Speaker 1>it just boils down to money and nothing else. If
<v Speaker 1>they want WrestleMania five years in a row, if that's
<v Speaker 1>the criteria now then, yeah, they may be the permanent
<v Speaker 1>host of WrestleMania. Joseph Steward, do you remember when Raven
<v Speaker 1>formed a group with Vampiro and the Insane clown Posse
<v Speaker 1>in WW called the Deadpool in late nineteen ninety nine?
<v Speaker 1>I don't. Could Rick Steiner have been w CW champion
<v Speaker 1>like his brother Scott Steiner? No? No, Rick Steiner is
<v Speaker 1>not world championship material. Broley seven, Julia and Tiffany could
<v Speaker 1>be wrestling lyra eo Osca, Becky, Rhea, Kyrie, Roxanne, Get Soul,
<v Speaker 1>Jordan and Fatal Influence on SmackDown from your Lips to
<v Speaker 1>the Wrestling God's Ears. They got to get somebody up there.
<v Speaker 1>Something has to be done. Tiffany's run ever since she
<v Speaker 1>beat Charlotte A WrestleMania has been as forgettable as you
<v Speaker 1>could possibly expect it to be. A completely forgettable run
<v Speaker 1>as champion. Holliday says, where was Jacob Fatu tonight? He's
<v Speaker 1>starting to blend in as another mid upper card guy.
<v Speaker 1>They need to put him in a meaningful storyline. Oh well,
<v Speaker 1>didn't you see Solo Sokoa's video tonight? Solo Soca is
<v Speaker 1>probably gonna be coming after Jacob Fatu. They're gonna run
<v Speaker 1>that back again. I wouldn't be surprised Boots with another
<v Speaker 1>ten will uh here he is has the constant adds
<v Speaker 1>for Canelo versus Crawford. Piqued your interest. I think I
<v Speaker 1>might watch it. Uh No, it has not for me.
<v Speaker 1>But if you watch it, enjoy brother. I don't hear
<v Speaker 1>about too many big boxing fights anymore. They seem to
<v Speaker 1>be few and far between. Stevie Hurley, So would you
<v Speaker 1>call this sweet? Saudi money eight? This takes the cake.
<v Speaker 1>They were doing so many shows. I just I stopped
<v Speaker 1>doing the names a long time ago. This would have
<v Speaker 1>to be like the ultimate nickname that we would have
<v Speaker 1>to come up with. Joseph with the two bucks. Sena done,
<v Speaker 1>I'm done to rest in peace. Wwe rot in Hell? Wow? Well,
<v Speaker 1>I mean there you go. I think that pretty much
<v Speaker 1>sums it up right there, rot in Hell, he says.
<v Speaker 1>Holiday one ninety seven. Thoughts on Dominic mysterio turning on
<v Speaker 1>the Judgment day and joining Seth's faction. This would lead
<v Speaker 1>to an interesting feud between dom and Finn Balor and
<v Speaker 1>give Breaker and read More motive to go after the
<v Speaker 1>tag team titles. So the implication there is that the
<v Speaker 1>judgment day would go babyface. YEH mean live Morgan will
<v Speaker 1>probably end up being a baby face when she comes
<v Speaker 1>back anyway, So I mean, you can make it work
<v Speaker 1>dom in the vision. I don't know if I see
<v Speaker 1>Dom in the vision though, I don't know if I
<v Speaker 1>like that. I mean, your idea could work, though I
<v Speaker 1>don't know that I would do that. Dried Chicken says
<v Speaker 1>time to pop the champagne bottles for WrestleMania forty three
<v Speaker 1>Super Sweet Saudi Mania. Also this five dollars super chat
<v Speaker 1>from him says he would roast Brock on the mic hell.
<v Speaker 1>I'll fight Brock and pissed Tkoh yeah, you do that,
<v Speaker 1>You do that, brother? The sheltered kid. Ever watched Camp WWE?
<v Speaker 1>Did you like it or no? I did? I watched it.
<v Speaker 1>I liked it for the most part. I liked story
<v Speaker 1>Time more though. Storytime was another one of those WWE
<v Speaker 1>network shows, and they actually gave a shit about doing
<v Speaker 1>shows like that. I like that one more mactub Greater,
<v Speaker 1>All Time for you Overall Cain or Seth Cain drive
<v Speaker 1>Shake and says Triple H has turned Julia into a boring, stale,
<v Speaker 1>mundane noodle creative teams should be arrested. Julia has so
<v Speaker 1>much personality in her, it's just a matter of coming
<v Speaker 1>up with the right stories, you know, to kind of
<v Speaker 1>bring it out of her. Mactub has Cody surpassed his
<v Speaker 1>father's legacy for you, No, not yet. Try checking Buy
<v Speaker 1>or Sell disrespected EVP bucks or Morning New Day disrespected
<v Speaker 1>EVP Bucks far more entertaining. Bobby means with Saudi getting
<v Speaker 1>many of forty three, is there a chance of it
<v Speaker 1>being live earlier in the day, like around one or
<v Speaker 1>three pop. Well, of course it's gonna be a live show.
<v Speaker 1>So the Saudi shows here usually start I think of one.
<v Speaker 1>I'm expecting Wrestlemandi to start around one or two o'clock
<v Speaker 1>in the afternoon. One of the benefits I suppose for
<v Speaker 1>me it's to watch the show earlier and go live earlier.
<v Speaker 1>But as I said before, it opens up opportunity for
<v Speaker 1>other people. We'll cover it more a little more in
<v Speaker 1>depth on the podcast this Sunday. You know, it's it's whatever.
<v Speaker 1>I'm just it's just so deflating seeing the different comments
<v Speaker 1>from just so many idiots online today who incorporated of course,
<v Speaker 1>the tribal nature of things, I saw it degenerated into
<v Speaker 1>a wweaw thing. I mean, it's just the typical bullshit
<v Speaker 1>that you would expect to see, you know, in terms
<v Speaker 1>of some of the online discourse. But again, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>nobody should be surprised by the announcement. This is something
<v Speaker 1>that was inevitable. It's happening, maybe a little sooner than
<v Speaker 1>I thought it would. I do think it's a slap
<v Speaker 1>in the face for them to get it before the
<v Speaker 1>UK does. But it comes down to dollars and cents,
<v Speaker 1>and there's no way the UK can compete with the
<v Speaker 1>amount of money that we're talking about here, which was
<v Speaker 1>not and never is going to be officially announced, but
<v Speaker 1>the belief is that it is. It could be upwards
<v Speaker 1>of two hundred million dollars for one show technically too,
<v Speaker 1>because it's still going to be two nights, but for
<v Speaker 1>one weekend. What other country is going to be able
<v Speaker 1>to compete with that? Right? The UK can't compete with that.
<v Speaker 1>They can't just blindly throw that money around. That's why
<v Speaker 1>I said, like, if it literally just comes down to
<v Speaker 1>money and nothing more, it is not out of the
<v Speaker 1>realm of possibility that you know, the Saudis could end
<v Speaker 1>up getting WrestleMania the year after that. Look what happened
<v Speaker 1>with Vegas. Look at what happened with Vegas. They literally
<v Speaker 1>sent the rock out on live television in New Orleans
<v Speaker 1>to announce that WrestleMania forty two was coming to New Orleans.
<v Speaker 1>And then they change their mind when they saw how
<v Speaker 1>much money they made this year in Vegas. They couldn't
<v Speaker 1>even wait. We gotta go back to Vegas. Sorry, Nola,
<v Speaker 1>we gotta go back to Vegas. Why money? This is
<v Speaker 1>the first WrestleMania in Saudi. I guarantee you it will
<v Speaker 1>not be the last. We'll talk more about it on Sunday.
<v Speaker 1>That's gonna be Episode nine twenty nine of the Sound
<v Speaker 1>of Dried Chicken. Says, imagine Eo Sky doing Darby's coffin
<v Speaker 1>drop in WWE She doesn't have to. She's got her
<v Speaker 1>her beautiful moon salt that she does. She doesn't have
<v Speaker 1>to go around stealing other people's moods. And really, whatever
<v Speaker 1>the number is, whether it's one hundred and fifty million,
<v Speaker 1>two hundred million, it could be more, could be two
<v Speaker 1>hundred and fifty million, right, we don't know, but even
<v Speaker 1>one hundred million. It's it's insane, you know, it's crazy.
<v Speaker 1>But they're gonna go where the money is. You know,
<v Speaker 1>fuck everything else. It's just how they operate. Nobody should
<v Speaker 1>be surprised. You could be disappointed by it, but nobody
<v Speaker 1>should be surprised by it. But this idea that this
<v Speaker 1>is some sort of game changing type announcement, again, it's
<v Speaker 1>all a matter of semantics here. I fail to see
<v Speaker 1>what's so game changing about this. There's nothing game changing
<v Speaker 1>about this. This was as predictable as predictable could be.
<v Speaker 1>They've been running shows in Saudi for years. They've been
<v Speaker 1>doing large stadium shows in international locations for years. Summerslim
<v Speaker 1>has expanded to two nights, Like WrestleMania doesn't mean what
<v Speaker 1>it used to mean. There's nothing game changing about this.
<v Speaker 1>I'll tell you who's game change today. Though maybe you
<v Speaker 1>could argue was their bank account curdly, But again, they
<v Speaker 1>make a lot of money off the Saudi shows, so
<v Speaker 1>they'll make a little bit more for WrestleMania. To me,
<v Speaker 1>that doesn't change the game. You know, it changes the
<v Speaker 1>total in their bank account. But in terms of the audience,
<v Speaker 1>when you put out a message like that that it's
<v Speaker 1>a game changer. I fail to see how it really
<v Speaker 1>changes the game for everybody else. Anyway. I know there's
<v Speaker 1>a lot of people who are watching World's Collide right now.
<v Speaker 1>I will have to check it out out after myself
<v Speaker 1>Duff's VIDs. I was told yesterday that I was color blind.
<v Speaker 1>The news came right out of the purple, Right out
<v Speaker 1>of the purple. Who is that in the background when
<v Speaker 1>Sammy had his segment with Mellow Was that knock Hima?
<v Speaker 1>Was it knockingma? Oh my god? Can you imagine? Can
<v Speaker 1>you imagine fucking knock him? Mora is still lurky. I
<v Speaker 1>did not notice anybody in the background, honestly, so I
<v Speaker 1>can't tell you who it was. But if it was Knockamora,
<v Speaker 1>you have got You've just got to be kidding me.
<v Speaker 1>Oh I see ah haha, Yes, of course, out of
<v Speaker 1>the purple. Okay, all right, yes, out of the blue,
<v Speaker 1>out of the purple. I don't know how I miss
<v Speaker 1>that anyway. Be well, stay safe, have yourselves a great
<v Speaker 1>rest of your night. If you're gonna go watch World's Collide,
<v Speaker 1>enjoy whatever I see of World's Collide. We'll review that
<v Speaker 1>and talk about that on Sunday. As well. Uh and
<v Speaker 1>I will see you back here for more live YouTube
<v Speaker 1>streaming on Monday night for the raw post show. Until then,
<v Speaker 1>take care, guys,
