All right, So here we go today's Bible reading. The Book of Isaiah

The Founding Fathers built the United States on the foundation of rebellion. Many of

the early colonists left England to escape the tyranny of the British monarchy. So

when King George the Third decided to exercise authority over the American colonies, the

settlers faced a choice submit or rebel colonists in unviable unviable. Unenviable choice constitutes

a huge understatement. After all, England stood as the premier military power in

the world at that time. In contrast, the colonists were able to assemble

only a poorly organized band of farmers, merchants, and assorted misfits to rise

up against a discipline, organized, and well supply army. Although they faced

overwhelming odds, the columnists never gave up hope. In addition to join the

home field advantage, they knew their opponent's weaknesses. The columnists result resolutely believed

that they could succeed. No such glimmer of hope exists for people who rebel

against God, just as it just as the Israelites of the Old Testament.

Isaiah began his prophecy by reminding the people of Judah of their rebellion. Time

each time they had paid a terrible price. Not once did they succeed in

their own terms. The quicker we learned that lesson, the more pain we

spare ourselves. Some people claim to have legitimate beefs against God. They talk

boldly about how God has failed them, or how God doesn't care, or

how restrictive or dull God's ways are. Still. Rebellent against God simply doesn't

work. You can't bend or God, or you can't bend or ignore God's

commandments anymore than you can't avoid the laws of gravity. If you ignore God's

ways, you'll eventually fall hard. Moreover, God's perfect ways always produce the

best results over the long haul. What commandments are we talking about here?

Well, A good place to begin is with the original tech commandments in Exosus

chapter twenty and Deuteronomy five, or with Jesus words in the Book of Matthew

chapter twenty two, Verses thirty seven through forty These passages speak of the perspective

to which God calls us when he directs us to live a life of love,

first towards Him, then towards others. A simple concept, really,

but simple doesn't necessarily mean easy. How can you apply this idea to your

life today? As you plan to spend time with God in prayer and look

forward to interacting with your family, friends, and co workers. Amen,

reject God's ways? What circumstances in your life have caused you to rebel or

to consider rebelling against God? What did those experiences teach you that you can
