today's message, we're going to do the commentary in the Book of Tewod Samuel,

chapter eleven. All right, So we'll go through this commentary reading,

and then we will close out with a prayer. We will close out with

a priestly blessing, and we would close out giving all the praise, honor

and glory to the most hot God of Abraham, Miskin Jacob, and praise

has only been gotten. Some die for our sins, Amen, Hall Louis,

y'all. So this commentary is based on David and Bethsheba. All right.

We know about David's story and his rise and fall as a king and

what have you. So we're going to go through this reading and they will

read the recommended scriptures as well. Okay, today's Bible reading. The Book

of Tewod Samuel, chapter eleven, verses one through twenty seven. David and

Bathsheba in the spring, at the time when kings go off to war.

David sent Joe ab out with the kingsmen and the whole army, the whole

Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbi, but David remained in

Jerusalem. One evening, David got up from his bed and walked around on

the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing.

The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her.

The mass set. Isn't this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the

wife of Uriah the Hittite. Then David sent messengers to get her. She

came to him and he slept with her. She had purified herself from her

uncleanness. Then she went back home. The woman conceived and sent word to

invitation, he ate and drank with him, and David made him drunk.

In the evening, your riot went out to sleep on his mat among his

master servants. He did not go home. In the morning, David wrote

a letter to joe Ab and sent it with you riot. In it,

he wrote, put your riot in the front line where the fighting is fiercest,

then withdraw from him so he would be struck down and die. So,

while Joab had the city under siege, he put your ride at a

men overpowered us and came out against us in the open, but we drove

them back to the interest of the city gate. Then the archers shot arrows.

The archers shot arrows at your servants from the wall, and some of

the king's men died. Moreover, your servant, you ride the hit tighte

is dead, David told the messenger. Say this to joe Ab, don't

All right, So that's today's Bible reading. Okay, so we saw

how messy this whole situation was from beginning to end, and the ending part

with says what David did displease the Lord. So you know, God is

watching everything we do. He sees everything man, and you know, people

think what they're doing is right in their own eyes. But the Lord weighs

the scales, the Lord wets the spirits, He judges everything and men.

Proverb tells us that. So, so what we could take from this is

to always fear God, to keep his commandments, but also to have discernment,

intuition, knowledge, understanding, wisdom, always thinking things through, and

not always putting your flesh over God's word, not putting your own interests and

emotions over the truth and over the most high lost edged commandments. You know

what I'm saying. And that's what happened in the situation. So furthermore,

in that chapter, you saw how God sent Nathan to rebuke David. He

sent Nathan the prophet to rebuke David and let David know what's going to happen

to him and what have you. So, you know, God to make

an example of anybody, Okay, And we've always got to have that humility,

we got to have that honor, that humbleness, that meekness when we're

doing this journe you know. So God made examples out of David, Solomon

Sampson, accountless of others. So we have to really learn from these things

and make sure we don't repeat these same instances or situations that these guys did.

Okay, So that was today's Bible reading. Now let us read recommended

reading scriptures. Okay. Let us go to Proverbs, chapter twenty six,

Verse twenty six. His malice may be concealed by deception. But his wickedness

will be exposed in the assembly. All right, Hoseiah Chapter ten, verse

thirteen. But you have planted wickedness, you have reaped evil. You have

eaten the fruit of deception, because you have depended on your own strength and

on your own many warriors. All right, So let's go to Second Corinthians

chapter four, verse two. Rather, we have renounced secret, secret and

shameful ways. We do not use deception, nor do we distort the word

of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly, we

recommend ourself. We commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the spirit of God.

Amen. Okay, So that's today's Bible reading and recommended scriptures according to

his commentary. Okay, so the time of this commentary is a rooftop pop

up. A man from Vermont wrote circus owner P. T. Barnum,

offering a cherry colored cat for one hundred dollars. Barnum, always on the

lookout for rare attractions for his greatest show on Earth, replied that he would

send the money if the man guaranteed the cat was genuine. Barnum didn't want

an artificial cherry colored cat. When Barnum received the guarantee, he sent the

money, and shortly after we received a small crate. When Barnum opened it,

a black cat jumped out. A ribbon tied around the cat's neck held

hit this note up in Vermont. The cherries are black. Most of us

have practiced the art of deception at one time or another, King David did.

His deception began on the rooftop of his palace. Although a war was

going on, David remained home. He'd conquered many foes. He'd been a

great warrior, but his youth was becoming a our way memory. As each

new day made him a little pudgier around the middle. David longed for something

different, so when he saw a beautiful woman, another man's wife, bathing,

he sent for her. The first deception happened when David convinced himself that

he could actually get away with this kind of activity. The deception continued when

David schemed and told lies to cover up the adulterous affair. But David's deception

reached a peak when he ordered the murder of Uriyah, Bathsheba's husband. This

story presents a bleak picture of the one who was called the man after God's

own heart. However, we can also find hope in David's story. He

eventually ended the deception by bringing it all in the light. Into the light,

life went forward. However, David suffered grave consequences. His family was

never the same after this incident was exposed. Deception sting has a far rea

has a far reaching effect. Maybe you're looking for a way out of life,

a way out of life of deception. Bring it into the light.

Tell someone, because if David could tell us anything today, he'll probably say

deception never makes anything right, It only makes things worse. In fact,

this is exactly what he did say. Take a few minutes and read through

Psalm fifty one. Amen, things that take away from the commentary What negative

effects of deception have you seen or experienced? What can you do to remove

deception from your heart and life? Hint, A good place to start is

on your knees, repenting, crying and crying out to the Lord and praying.

Who do you know that can help you in your battle against deception?

how we're really living and what have you. Okay, So let's make sure

we're aligned with God's word, and let's make sure we are consistent forevermore.

me wisdom in the inmost place. Cleanse me with hissop and I will be

clean. Wash me and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear

joy and gladness. Let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face

from my sins, and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a

pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do

not cast me from your presence or take your holy spirit from me. Restore

to me the joy of your salvation, and grant me a w billing spirit

Oh God, the God who saves me, and my tongue will sing

of your righteousness. Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare

your praise. You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it.

You do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are

a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart. Oh God, you will

not despise, and your good pleasure make Zion prosper, build up the walls

of Jerusalem. Then there will be righteous sacrifices, whole burnt offerings to delight

you. Then bulls will be offered on your altar. Amen. All right.
