going to go through commentary within the book of First Samuel, all right.

So we'll go through this commentary, and then from there we will close out

with a prayer. With a prayer. We will close out with a prayer.

We would close out with a priestly blessing, and we will close out

giving all the praise, honor, and glory to the most hot God of

Abraham, Isak and Jacob, and praise has only begotten sod who died for

our sins, saying man halleuie y'all. So here we go with the commentary.

This commentary is basically revolved around the kingship of Israel and how Israel's going

through those different transitions of not having a king or a wickedness and not having

proper leadership, proper authority would have you. And this is a point where

Israel didn't even want the most High. They wanted a man to lead them,

you know, they wanted the kings. So they're oppressing Samuel about this,

okay. So we know that through the kingship of Israel. There's only

been a few righteous kings and a whole bunch of wicked kings, all right,

that led to Israel's despair and captivity and scattering with have you. Okay,

So we know that the Messiah is the true king of kings. Amen.

He is the Lord of lords. He is a true one who died

for our sins. He is the one who stated us the right way and

that narrow path. Amen. So he is a true king that really did

it for us, Aint mess That's why we always got to do his word

and follow him forever. And we see the examples of Israel, what they

went through that led up to the Messiah coming here on earth in the first

place. Okay, So we got to always understand that there's only a few

righteous kings in the time of ancient Israel, in that time period. Okay.

So I'm just gonna go through this commentary, read through these scriptures,

and then go from there. Okay. So here we go. Today's Bible

reading First Samuel chapter eight one through twenty two. Recommended reading the Book of

Deuteronomy chapter seventeen, verses fourteen through twenty and also the Book of Second Samuel

chapter fifteen, verses one through twelve, and also Psalm sixty nine, verse

twenty four. All right, so we know the Messiah is the amazing king

man that really did all the laws. He fulfilled the law man. He

knocked it all out the park, y'all. So he pressed us to keep

the commandments as well into handle it as well, lane man. So let's

go to First Samuel chapter eight and go through verses one through twenty two.

Okay, so here we go. Israel asked for a king when Samuel grew

old. He appointed his sons as judges for Israel. The name of his

firstborn was Joel, and the name of his second was Abijah Abaijah, and

they served at Beersheba. But his sons did not walk in his ways.

They turned aside after dishonest game and accepted bribes and perverted justice. So all

the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at rama. They said

to him, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your

ways. Now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other

nations have. But when they said this, but when they said give us

a king to lead us, this displeased to Samuel, so he prayed to

the Lord, and the Lord told him, listen to all that the people

are saying to you. It is not you they have rejected, but they

have rejected me as their king, as they have done from the day I

brought them up out of Egypt until this day forsaken me and serving of the

gods. So they are doing for you. Now listen to them, but

warn them solemnly, and let them know what the king who will reign over

them will do. Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people

who were asking him for a king. He said, this is what the

king who will reign over you will do. He will take your sons and

make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front

of his chariots. Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands, and

commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest,

and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. He

will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take

the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his

attendants. He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage,

and give it to his officials and attendants. Your men, servants and maid

servants, and the best of your cattle and donkeys he will take for his

own use. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and for yourselves

will become his slaves. When that day comes, you will cry out for

relief from the king you have chosen, and the Lord will not answer you

in that day. But the people refuse to listen to Samuel. No,

they said, we want a king over us. Then we will be like

all the other nations, with the king to lead us and to go out

before us and fight our battles. When Samuel heard all that the people said,

he repeated, before the Lord, the Lord, listen to them and

give them a king. As Samuel said to the men of Israel, everyone

go back to his town. All right, here through this reading, how

Samuel is dealing with a lot with Israel. You know, you see how

stubborn they are, and how much they rejected the most highest. So Samuel

was really angered and displeased by them doing that. You know what I mean,

And it just shows you people like Samuel Moses, you know, certain

individuals that were called and chosen with these assignments that would have you how much

pressure and different emotions they had to deal with regarding leadership in God's word and

carrying out orders for the most high to Israel, you know. So it

just shows you when you're doing your assignment, you're doing God's work. How

it's not always a smooth, easy going thing, all right. So we

always need the strength and the patience when we're doing God's work, and we

always prayed God for more strength and patience as we're dealing with certain people in

our assignments. Okay, so now that was today's Bible reading. Now I

want to get into the recommended reading. Okay, so I'm going to read

Deuteronomy, chapter seventeen, verses fourteen through twenty. All right, so this

is basically the loss for the kings of Israel. Okay, the king when

you enter the land the Lord your God has given you, and have taken

possession of it and settled in it. And you say, let us set

a king over us like all the nations around us, be sure to appoint

over you the king the Lord your God chooses. He must be from among

your own brothers. Do not place a foreigner over you. One who is

not a brother is alite. The king moreover must not acquire great numbers of

horses for himself, or make the people return to Egypt to get more of

them, For the Lord has told you you are not to go back that

way again. He must not take many wives, or his heart will be

led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold. When

he takes the throne of his kingdom. He is to write for himself on

a scroll a copy of this law, taken that from the priests, taken

from that of the priests who are levites. It is to be with him,

and he is to read it all the days of his life, so

that he may learn to revere the Lord his God, and follow carefully all

the words of this law and these decrees, and not consider himself better than

his brothers, and turn from the law to the land, to the right

or to the left. Then he and his descendants will reign a long time

over his kingdom and Israel. All right. So those are the laws for

the kings of Israel. And we know for short of Messiah fulfilled the law,

he didn't break it. And the Messiah did all that with no problem.

Amen. So, beautiful King, he is. Amen. So he

really showed us the way he is, the way to the life. Amen.

So he kept the commandments, he kept the law. He didn't he

always humbled himself, and he went through with the Father's words. Amen.

And he was truly a doer of the word man. So he is calling

on us and charge and suppress us to be doers of the word as well.

Amen. So that was the reading for Deuteronomy. Now let us go

into Second Samuel, chapter fifteen versus one through twelve. Absalom's conspiracy. In

the course of time, Absalom provided himself with the chariot and horses, and

with fifty men to run ahead of him. He would get up early and

stand by the side of the road leading to the city gate. Whenever anyone

came with a complaint to the bels before the king for a decision, Absalom

would call out to him, what town are you from? He would answer,

your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel. Then Absalom would

say to him, look, your claims are valid and proper. But there

is no representative of the king to hear you. And Absalom would add,

if only I were appointed judge in the land, then everyone who has a

complaint or case could come to me, and I would see that he gets

justice. Also, whenever anyone approached him to bow down before him, Absalom

would reach out his hand, take hold of him, and kiss him.

Absalom behaved in this way toward all the Israelites who came to the King asking

for justice, as so he stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

At the end of four years, Absalom said to the King, let me

go to Hebron and fulfill a vow I made to the Lord while your servant

was living at Geshur in Aram. I made this vow. If the Lord

takes me back to Jerusalem, I will worship the Lord in Hebron. The

King said to him, go in peace. So he went to Hebron,

and Absolom sent secret messengers throughout the tribes of Israel to say, as soon

as you hear the sound of the trumpets, then say, Absolom is king

and Hebron. Two hundred men from Jerusalem had accompanied Absalom. They had been

invited as guests and went quite innocently, knowing nothing about the matter. While

Absalom was offering sacrifices, he also sent for a a Hithafl, the Gillaanite,

David's counselor, to come from Galow, his hometown, And so the

conspiracy gain strength and Absolom's following kept on increasing. So you see, they're

now reading how different people are trying to raise up it be kings as well

and try to appoint themselves. And we're happy they were being disobedient about how

God's loss were regarding kings. It would have you. So a lot of

people are very prideful and what's power hungry, position hungry and cloud chasing,

what have you. So we see all the different transitions Israel's going through with

their kingship and how certain individuals went about it. All right, So now

let us read Psalm sixty nine, verse twenty four. Pour out your wrath

on them, let your fierce anger overtake them, all right. So Guy's

anger and wrath was on Israel heavy for the way they were living in that

time period. Okay, so you know, let us really follow the true

king, the Messiah. Amen, he would lead us on this narrow path

forever. He lead us to eternal life, and man, we stay on

this narrow path to stay faithful to him. Amen. So that was art

to day's Bible reading and recommended reading. Okay, now let us go through

with the commentary. The tie of this commentary is handling rejection. You've been

through performance reviews before, but you're still nervous. Will you be able to

think you're on your feet? Will you be able to think on your feet?

Will your thoughts make sense? When you walk into your boss's office,

the not in your stomach titans even more. You notice that your boss looks

as nervous as you feel. As you sit down, you realize that he's

not looking you in the eye. After a few slow motion moments of silence,

he finally clears his throat. I have some bad news. The company

has decided to let you go. He picks up your personal file and shuffles

it through it to avoid meeting your shock gaze. Of course, you've been

a good employee, but the company has decided to head in a different direction

in your department, and they want to bring in a new leader. The

hard blow delivered. The hard blow delivered. Your boss hurries to relieve his

own tension. Naturally, will give you a generous serve severance package and an

excellent recommendation. Finally, he looks at you with the weird do you have

any questions? I hope not expression on his face, and says, well,

your hands by the end of the day. He busies himself gathering papers,

and then, as if surprised that you're still sitting there, mumbles, I'm

sorry, allthough, while you're still trying to absorb the impact of his words,

the company has decided to let you go. Imagine Samuel shock when the

people of Israel asked him to step aside in a point a king to lead

them. His two sons had already disappointed him, and now the people were

rejecting his leadership. They no longer wanted a judge who represented God. They

wanted a flesh and blood leader whom they could display with pride, a king

like all the other nations had. Samuel felt as if the people were saying,

we've decided to let you go. We all facing our hurt by rejection.

How should we respond How should we respond? When the people told Samuel

they wanted a king, he didn't argue with them, He didn't spit out

the first answer that came to mind. Instead, he prayed, He poured

out his disappointment to God, and then he obeyed. Amen. Thanks to

take away from the commentary. What kinds of rejection have you faced in your

life? How to being rejected make you feel? Can you recall times when

you handled rejection inappropriately? How might you have responded instead? How have you

sensed God working in you to handle rejection? Hey? Man? Some to

really reflect on it? Man, We've all been rejected some way, somehow,

and our personal life, works, lives, family, friend's life,

martial life, just rejection in different ways. You know. People take so

much offense to it and we feel so many different types of ways about it.

But everything that goes on, there's always a lesson in it, you

know. And the most highest with us through the good, bad and ugly.

He is with us through the highs and lows. Man, that's just

how faithful, amazing he is, you know. And this this in this

life, man, this journal life, we just go through so much disappointments

or let downs or failures or shortcomings and so much different things. You know,

we always we all fall show of God's glory through our sins and our

ways, but also just in general when we try to do right, try

to do better, things just don't turn out the way we wanted to.

Amen, But we gotta do what Samuel said. Samuel still pray to God.

He's still called on him through it. So we got to always go

to God for everything, for the good, through the good, bad and

ugly, and through the highs and lows. You know. But a lot

of people to this day are still healing from rejection. A lot of people

are dealing with bitterness and resentment and unforgiveness and all those different things. And

we have to truly be healed and restored and delivered, and we have to

truly learn how to move past things and the growth from You know, a

lot of people got these wounds that still haven't healed properly. So the word

of God will heal you. Let the most High heal you, y'all.

Healing power of God, it's all his, y'all. Okay, So we

got a crowd to God and let him know our concerns, let them know

how we feel deep down the side. We can't hide how we feel towards

God. He already sees it, all right, So we might as well

confess and let it all out, and we pray to him and call on

him, you know, because too many people right now are just sitting there

with so much hurt and pain in wounds, and they never dealt with it

properly. They've never addressed it, they never opened up about it, and

it just hurts them all on the inside. And God wants us to release

it. Man, God wants us to give it all to him. You

know. Only the Lord cares. Only the Lord will do it for you.

Man. Only the Lord will heal you and comfort you through your moments.

Okay. So we always got crowd to the Lord when we're feeling rejected

or something didn't go our way. Amen. So there you have it,

all right. That is the commentary, and that's that all right. So

what I'll love to do as I close out is give all the praise,

honor and glory to the most High God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
