you are having a blessed day. All right. So we just think the

world forgetting this through the morning and the evening of the night. All right.

He gave us a strength to do it again, so thank him.

All right. Now today's message, I'm going to go through this commentary that

is based upon Gideon the Warrior, the farm of the Judge. Okay,

so we'll go through this commentary and then from there we'll read a few scriptures

based on it, and that we will close out with a prayer. We

will close out with a priestly blessing, and we will close out give all

the praise, honor glory to the most hot God of Abraham. Askin Jacob

and praise has only been Godson who died for our sin, and say man

most definitely y'all. All right, So this commentary is like an interview kind

of POV type of thing. So we'll just go through this and then head

on that. All right, commentary Farmer, warrior and judge. Gideon the

Lord turned to him and said, go into strength you have and save Israel

out of Midian's hand. Am I not sending you the Book of Judges?

Chapter six, verse fourteen. So this is like an interview, question answered

type of format. You grew up in a small tribe, thinking of yourself

as the least in your own family? What changed you into a fierce warrior

and impaccable, implacable judge When the spirit of God came upon me, I

felt strength and courage I had never known before. At the first encounter with

the Almighty, I thought I would die because we've been talking face to face.

But after that he encouraged me to become familiar with him. He gave

instructions, but he also answered my questions and even allowed for my doubts and

misgivings by the time. By the time we went to battle, I knew

I could trust him. That's what gives a man courage and assurance. So

literally overnight, you went from unanimous as farmer to the nation's hero and governor.

What was that like? To my great surprise, I discovered that I

actually was ready for it. I found that doing what God assigned me to

do uncovered entirely different part of me that I hadn't even known existed. Leadership

came naturally to me once I had accepted a role. After God gave you

those great military victories, was your personal faith strengthened? And did you become

a more holy person? I guess it's just the opposite, though I embarrassed

to say it. Two parts of my story that most people are familiar with.

At the time, when I requested assurance of my victory, by asking

God for a sign, and the night when three hundred of us sent the

whole Median knighte a Melchite host into a panic just by blowing trumpets and waving

torches. But long before either of those things happened, I cut down the

idolatrous astrat pole in our hometown, tore down the altered next to it,

and offered sacrifices to the Lord. Those radical acts almost cost me my life,

but galvanized my commitment and that of my countrymen. Actually, it was

after all the great victories that our spiritual life as the nation began to cool

off again. I don't know, maybe it was my fault. Since I

erected that monument with the gold we pundered from our enemies. It got to

be annoying then, really scary that people would come from all over the nation

to worship that thing as though as though it and not God had saved us

from the Midianites. All right, Amen, All right, So that's the

commentary based on the interview format from Gideon's view of what God did for him.

Okay, now back to the future. Who do you know who is

full of strength and courage because of his trust in God. What gifts has

God given you? And what ways are you using them for the good of

other people? What idols are you tempted to worship in place of God?

What steps can you take to develop a greater devotion to God alone? Read

Gideon's story for the full account, read Judge chapter six through eight. All

right, so let us go through the Book of Judges chapter six through eight,

all the way through. Okay, so here we go Gideon again.

The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and for seven years

he gave them into the hands of the Medianites. Because the power of median

was so oppressive, the Israelites prepared shelters for themselves in mountain clefts, caves,

and strongholds. Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Medianites, Amlachites,

and other Eastern peoples invaded the country. They camped on the land and

ruined the crops all the way to Gaza, and did not spare a living

thing for israel neither sheep, nor cattle, nor donkeys. They came up

with their livestock and their tents like swarms of locusts. It was impossible to

count the men and their camels. They invaded the land to ravage it.

Medians so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out to the Lord for help.

When the Israelites cried to the Lord because of Median he sent them a prophet

who said, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says.

I brought you up out of Egypt. Have the land of slavery.

I snatched you from the power of Egypt and from the hand of all your

oppressors. I drove them out. I've drove them from before you and gave

you their land. I said to you, I am the Lord, your

god. Do not worship the gods of the Emirits and whose land you lived,

But you have not listened to me. The Angel of the Lord came

and sat down under the oak and o fra that belonged to Joash, the

Abazarite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat and the wine pressed to keep

it from the Median Knites. When the Angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon,

he said, the Lord is with you, mighty warrior. But Sir

Gideon replied, if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened

to us? Where are all his wonders that our father, our fathers told

us about when they said, did not the Lord bring us up out of

Egypt? But now the Lord has abandoned us and put us into the hand

of Midian. The Lord turned to him and said, go in the strength

you have and save Israel out of Median's hand. Am I not send to

you? But Lord, Gideon asked, how can I save Israel. My

tribe is the weakest in man, I say, and I am the least

in my family. The Lord answered, I will be with you, and

you will strike down all the Mediannites together. Gideon replied, if now I

have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really

you talking to me. Please do not go away until I come back and

bring my offering and set it before you. And the Lord said, I

will wait until you return. Gideon went in, prepared a young goat and

from afar a flower. He made bread without yeast, putting the meat in

a basket and his broth in a pot. He brought them out and offered

them to him Under the oak. The Angel of God said to him,

take the meat and the unloven bread, place them on this rock, and

pour out the broth, and Gideon did so with the tip of the staff

that was in his hand. The Angel of the Lord touched the meat and

the unloven bread. Fire flared from the rock, consuming the meat and the

bread, and the Angel of the Lord disappeared. When Gideon realized that it

was the Angel of the Lord, he exclaimed, oh, servant, Lord,

I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face. But the

Lord said to him, peace, do not be afraid. You are not

going to die. So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called

it the Lord is Peace. To this day, it stands in Afra of

the Abezarites. That same night, the Lord said to him, take the

second bull from your father's herd. There's one seven years old. Tear down

your father's altar to bail and cut down the asherah pole beside it. Then

build a proper kind of altar to the Lord, your God, on the

top of this height, using the wood of the asherop pole that you cut

down after the second bull as a burnt offering. So Gideon took ten of

his servants and did as the Lord told him. But because he was afraid

of his family and the men of the town, he did it at night

rather than in a daytime. In the morning, when the men of the

town got up, there was Bale's altar demolished, with the Asherah pole beside

it cut down, and the second bull sacrifice on the newly built altar.

They asked each other who did this. When they carefully investigated, they were

told Gideon, son of joe Ash, did it. The men of the

town demned of joe Ash, bring out your son. He must die because

he has broken down Bale's altar and cut down the astraot pole beside it.

But joe Ash replied to the hostile crowd, the hostile crowd around him,

are you going to plead Bale's cause? Are you trying to save him?

Whoever fights for him shall be put to death by morning. If Bail is

really a god, he can defend himself when someone breaks down his altar.

So that day they called Gideon Jeru Bail, saying, let Bail contend with

him because he broke down Bale's altar. Now all the Median Knites and Malachites

and other Eastern peoples joined forces and crossed over the Jordan and camped in the

valley of Jezreel. Then the spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, and

he blew a trumpet, summoned in the Abzarites to follow him. He sent

messengers throughout Manasse, calling him to arms, and also into assure Zebulon and

Naftali, so that they too went up to me m Gideon said to God,

if you will save Israel by my hand as you have promised, look,

I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is

dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will

know that you will save Israel by my hand as you said. And that

is what happened. Gideon rose early the next day. He squeezed the fleece

and wrung out the dew a bowl full of water. Then Gideon said to

the Lord, do not be angry with me. Let me make just one

more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece. This time,

make the fleece dry and the ground covered with dew. That night God did

so. Only the fleece was dry, all the ground was covered with dew.

All right. So that's Judges chapter six. Now let us go to

Judges chapter seven, Gideon defeast the Median knights. Early in the morning,

Jeru Bale, that is, Gideon and all his men camped at the spring

of Harad. The camp of Median was north of them, in the valley

near the hill of Moray. The Lord said to Gideon, you have too

many men for me to deliver Median into their hands. In order that Israel

may not both against me. That her own strength has saved her, announced

now to the people. Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave

Mount Galid. So twenty two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained.

But the Lord said to Gideon, there are still too many men. Take

them down to the water, and I will sift them for you there.

If I say this, one shall go with you, he shall go.

But if I say this one shall not go with you, he shall not

go. So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord

told them separate those who lapped the water with their tongues like a dog from

those who kneel to down to drink. Three hundred men lapped with their hands

to their mouths. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.

The Lord said to Gideon, with the three hundred men that lapped, I

will save you and give them Medianites into your hands. Let all the other

men go, each to his own place. So Gideon sent the rest of

the Israelites to their tents, but kept the three hundred, who took over

the provisions and trumpets of the others. Now the camp of Median laid below

him in the valley. Now the camp of Median lay below him in the

valley. During that night, the Lord said to Gideon, get up,

go down against the camp, because I am going to give it into your

hands. If you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with

your servant, Parah, and listen to what they are saying. Afterward,

you would be encouraged to attack the camp. So he and Parah, his

servant, went down to the outposts of the camp. The median Knites,

the Amlakites, and all the other eastern peoples had settled in the valley,

thick as low Custer camels could no more be counted than the sand of the

seashore. On the seashore, Gideon arrived just as a man was telling a

friend his dream. I had a dream, he was saying, a round

loaf of barley bread came tumbling into the Median Nite camp. It struck the

tent with such force that the tent overturned and collapsed. His friend responded,

this can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon, son of Joe ash

to Israelite. God has given them Median knites and the whole camp into his

hands. When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped God.

He returned to the camp of Israel and called out, get up, the

Lord has given the Median Knite camp to your hands. Dividing the three hundred

men into three companies, he placed trumpets and empty jars in the hands of

all of them, with torches inside. Watch me, he told them,

follow my lead. When I get to the edge of the camp, do

exactly as I do. When I and all who are with me blow our

trumpets, then from all around the camp blow yours and shout for the Lord

and for Gideon. Gideon and the hundred men with him reached the edge of

the camp at the beginning of the middle watch. Just after they had changed

the guard. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars that were in their

hands. The three companies blew the trumpets and smashed the jars, grasping the

torches in their left hand and holding their in their right hands the trumpets they

were to blow. They shouted a sword for the Lord and for Gideon.

While each man held his position around the camp. All the median Kites ran,

crying out as they fled. When a three hundred trump is sounded,

the Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their

swords. The army fled to Beth Shattar towards Zurira Zeirah, as far as

the border of Abel Maola near Tabath. Israelites from Naphtali Assher and al Manasse

were called out, and they pursued the Medianites. Gideon sent messengers throughout the

hill country of Ephraim, saying come down against the Medianites and seize the waters

of the Jordan ahead of them as far as Beth Barrah. So all the

men of Ephraim were called out, and they took the waters of the Jordan

as far as Beth Barrah. They also captured two of the Median Knite leaders,

Arab and Zib, they called Arab. They killed Arab at the rock

of Arab and Zeb at the wine press of zib They pursued the mediankites and

brought the heads of Arab and Zeb to Gideon, who was by the Jordan.

All right, so that's the Book of Judges chapter seven reading. All

right, now we were going to Judges chapter eight reading. Okay, Zabah

and Zalmanah. Now the Ephraim mightes ask Gideon, why have you treated us

like this? Why didn't you call us when you went to fight Median And

they criticized him sharply, but he answered them, what have I accomplished compared

to you? Aren't the gleanings of Ephraims grapes better than the full grape harvest

of Abazar. God gave a Reb and Zeb, the media Nite leaders into

your hands. What was I able to do compared to you? At this?

Their resentment against him subsided. Gideon and his three hundred men, exhausted

yet keeping up the pursuit, came to the Jordan and crossed it. He

said to the Minisaka so of Sakkath, give my troops some bread. They

are worn out, and I'm still pursuing Zibah and Zalmanah, the kings of

Midian. But the officials of Zacat said, do you already have the hands

of Zibah and Zalmana in your possession, Why should we give bread to your

troops. Then Gideon replied, just for that, when the Lord has given

Zebah and Zalmana to my hand, I will tear your flesh with desert thorns

and briars briars. From there he went up to Panil and made the same

request of them, But they answered, as the men of Saccoth said,

had so, He said to the men of Panil, when I return the

triumph, I will tear down his tower. Now Zibah and Zalmonah Zalmanah were

in car corps with a force of about fifteen thousand men. All that were

left of the armies of the Eastern peoples one hundred and twenty thousand swordsmen have

fallen. Gideon went up by the route of the nomads east of Nobah and

jog Banah jogh Baha, and fell upon the unsuspected army Ziba and Zalbana.

The two kings of Midian fled, but he pursued them and captured them.

Routing their entire army. Gideon's son of joe Ash then returned from the battle.

By the pass of Harris Harries. He caught a young man of Saccoth

in question, and a young man wrote down for him the names of the

seventy seven officials of Saccath, the elders of the town. Then Gideon came

and said, to the men of Saccath, here are Zebah and Zalmena,

about whom you taunt to me by saying, do you already have the hands

of Zebah and Zalmena in your possession? Why should we give bread to your

exhausted men. He took the elders of the town and taught the men of

Saccath a lesson by punishing them with desert thorns and briars. He also pulled

down the tower of penil Pineo and killed the men of the town. Then

he asked Zebah and Zalmenah, what kind of men did you kill at tubor

men like you? They answered, each one with the parent the bearing of

a prince. Gideon replied, those were my brothers, the sons of my

own mother. As surely as the Lord lives. If you had spared their

lives. I would not kill you. Turning to Jethir, his oldest son,

he said, kill them. But Jethir did not draw a sword because

he was only a boy and was afraid. Zebah and Zamna. Zamanah said,

come do it yourself, as is the man soul is his strength.

So Gideon stepped forward and killed them and took the ornaments off their camel's necks.

Gideon's aphod. The Israelites said to Gideon, rule over us, you,

your son, and your grandson, because you have saved us out of

the hand of Midian. But Gideon told them I will not rule over you,

nor will my son rule over you. The Lord will rule over you.

And he said, I do have one request that each of you give

me an airing from your share of the plunder. It was the custom of

the ishmaelites to wear gold earrings. They answered, we'll be glad to give

them. So they spread out a garment, and each man threw a ring

from his plunder unto it. The weight of the gold rings he asked for

it came to seventeen hundred shekels, not counting the ornaments dependence and the purple

garments worn by the kings of Midian or the chains that were on their camel's

necks. Gideon made the gold into an aphod, which he placed in or

Afra, his town. All Israel prostitute themselves by worshiping there, and it

became a snare to Gideon and his family Gideon's death. Thus, Midian was

subdued before the Israelites and did not raise his head again. During Gideon's lifetime,

the land enjoyed peace forty years. They enjoyed peace for forty years.

Jeru Bel, son of joe Ash, went back home to live. He

had seventy sons of his own, for he had many wives. His concubine,

who lived in Shashem, also bore him a son, whom he named

Abemelich. Gideon's son of joe Ash died at a good old age and was

buried in the tomb of his father Joash and Opra of the ab Israites Abaserites

of be Israetes. No sooner had Gideon died than the Israelites again prostitute themselves

to the bales. They set up bail Beareth as their god and did not

remember the Lord their god, who had rescued them from the hands of all

their enemies on every side. They also failed to show kindness to the family

of Gideon for all the good things he had done for them. Whow so

they have it all right, that's the reading of the story of Gideon,

all right. I love reading the Book of Judges overall because I love reading

about the Borah, Sampson and Gideon as well, you know, and just

reading about these men of valities, women of value, how they went about

battle with the Lord. You know, we just know that the Lord is

with us on our battles, and when God sends us out in that battlefield,

we know we will prosper, We know we will prevail, we know

we will win, and we have no doubt because we know the Lord is

with us, you know what I'm saying. So it was awesome reading about

Gideon. You know, he's also obviously one of the heroes of faith,

as a book of Hebrews and eleven Hebrews eleven talks about. So it's always

good to read about these stories and how they approach their situations in the battles.

And Gideon was a great man of the most high, you know,

he battled with doubt and securities, and just like many people of us today

do you know, but our faith gets stronger and our faith in the Lord

gets more better as we see more about how much He pulls us, he

pulls through for us. Amen. So let us have no doubt or no

insecurity, no worries. Okay, we trust in the Lord through it all,

and we know the Lord God it ain'men, so we know we can

do all things through Christ. And we are more than conquerors. Amen.

So we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Amen. So we should just be

giving God all the things for that and thanking him for all the victories that

we continue to keep having our lives. Amen. So let us keep having

victories, flourishing and prosper forever until the Messide comes back. A man most

definitely, all right. And Gideon was a very great warrior, a mighty

man. Man has seventy children. So that man who that man was being

fruit for multiplying, all right. I mean, he had wives and concubines

and stuff. So that was always the thing of Israelite men, whether you

was a warrior, man, a valor, a king, a priest or,

a patriarch, would have you polygny. Having big families always Israel's thing

and structure. All right. So Gideon was a blessed strong man, and

let us apply historic to our lives as well. Okay, we are strong

men of the most Highest, strong women of the most High. All right.

Let us be mighty men, mighty women for the Lord forever. All

right. So there you have it. Now, what I'll love to do

as I close out this commentary is give all the praise, honor and glory

to the most hot God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and praise only

be gods, die forsh sins amen, halleui y'all. So here we go,

And right before I do that, I just want to read these two

in commentary scriptures. Before that, the Book of Judges chapter six, verse

twenty four. God is peace. So Gideon built an altar to the Lord

there and called it the Lord is Peace. To this day it stands in

Judges chapter eight, verse twenty three. God is our ruler. But Gideon

told them I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over

Forerunner, the Gate, the Glory of the Lord God, the Good Shepherd,

the Great High Priest, the Great Shepherd, the Head of the Church,

the Air of all things, the High Priest, Holy and True,

the Holy One, the Hope, the Hope of Glory, the hornets Salvation.

That I Am, that I Am, That I Am, that I

Am, Who I Am, the Great I Am, the Image of God,

Jehovah, Jehovah, Jivrah, Jehovah, Shalom Jehovah, Jesus of Nazareth,

Jesus, the Judge of Israel, the Judge, King Eternal. He
