go through the commentary within the Book of Judges, okay, and this is

regarding to Sampson, all right. So we'll go through this reading and then

from there we will close out with a prayer. We will close out with

a priestly blessing, and we will close out giving all the praise, honor

and glory to the most Hot God of Abraham Jacob and praise only beg God.

based on the Book of Judges chapter sixteen, verses one through thirty one.

The recommended reading is the Book of Proverbs chapter twenty nine, verse twenty three.

Also the Book of Romans chapter six verses twelve through fourteen, and then

also the Book of Ephesians, chapter six verses eleven through eighteen. The title

of this commentary is trashed Potential. All right, so let's just go first

to the reading of Judges chapter sixteen, verses one through thirty one. All

right, Judges, chapter sixteen, verses one through twenty thirty one. All

right, ho Judge sixteen. All right, So here we go. Samson

and Delilah. One day Samson went to Gaza, where he saw a prostitute.

He went to spend the night with her. The people of Gaza were

told Samson is here, so they surrounded the place and lay in wait.

They waited for him all night at the city gate. They made no move

during the night, saying at dawn we will get him, we will kill

him. But Samson lay there only to the middle of the night. Then

he got up and took hold of the doors of the city gate, together

with the two posts, and tore them loose, bar and all. He

lifted them to his shoulders and carried them to the top of the hill that

faces hebron Some time later, he fell in love with a woman in the

valley of Sarek, whose name was Delilah. The rulers of the Philistines went

to her and said, see if you can lure him into showing you the

secret of his great strength and how we can overpower him, so we may

tie him up and subdue him. Each one of us will give you eleven

hundred shekels of silver. So Delilah said to Samson, tell me the secret

of your great strength and how you can be tied up and subdued. Samson

answered her, if anyone ties me with seven fresh songs that have not been

dried, I'll become as weak as any of the men. Then the rulers

of the Philistines brought her seven fresh thngs that had not been dried, and

tied him with them. With men hidden in the room, She called to

Samson, the Philistines are upon you. But he snapped the throngs as easy

as a piece of string snaps when it comes close to a flame. So

the secret of his strength was not discovered. Then Delilah said to Samson,

you have made a fool of me. You lie to me. Come now

tell them tell me how you can be tied. He said, if anyone

ties me securely with new ropes I've never been used, I'll become as weak

as any other man. So Delilah took new ropes and tied him with them.

Then, with men hidden in the room, she called to sam Samson,

the philistines are upon you. But he snapped the ropes of his off

his arms as if they are threads. Delilah then said to Samson, until

now you have been making a fool of me and lying to me. Tell

me how you can be tied. He replied, if you weave the seven

braids of my head into the fabric on the loom and tighten it with the

pen, I'll become as weak as any other man. So, while he

was sleeping, Delilah took the seven braids of his head, wove them into

the fabric, and tightened it with the pin. Against she called to him,

Samson, the philistines are upon you. He awoke from asleep and pulled

up the pen and the loom with the fabric. Then she said to him,

how can you say I love you when you won't confide in me.

This is the third time you have made a fool of me, and having

told me the secret of your great strength. With such naggers, she prodded

him day and night and nagged him until he was tired to death. So

he told her everything. No razor has ever been used on my head,

he said, because I have been a Nazrit set apart to God since birth.

If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me and I would

become as weak as any other man. When Delilah saw that he had told

her everything, she sent word to the rulers of the Philistines, come back

once more. He has told me everything. So the rules of the Philistines

returned with the silver in their hands. Having put him to sleep on her

lap, she called a man to shave off as seven braids of his hair

and began to subdue him, and the strength left him that she called Samson,

the Philistines are upon you. He awoke from his sleep and thought,

I'll go out as before and shake myself free, But he did not know

that the Lord had left them. Then the Philistine seized him, gogged out

his eyes, and took him down to Gazam, binding him with bronze shackles.

They set him to grinding in the prison, but the hair on his

head began to grow again after it had been shaved. The death of Samson

now the rulers that the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagone.

They gone their God and to celebrate, saying, our God has delivered Samson,

our enemy, into our hands. When the people saw him, they

praised their God, saying, our God has delivered our enemy into our hands.

The one who laid waste our land and multiplied are slain. While they

were in high spirits, they shouted, bring out Samson to entertain us.

So they called Samson out of the prison, and he performed for them.

When they stood him among the pillars, Samson said to the servant who held

his hand, put me where I can fill the pillars that support the temple,

so that I may lean against them. Now a temple was crowded with

men and women. All the rulers that the Philistines were there, and on

the roof were about three thousand men and women watching Samson perform. And Samson

prayed to the Lord, O seven, Lord, remember me, Oh God,

please strengthen me just once more, and let me, with one blow

get revenge on the Philistines from my two eyes. Then Samson reached toward the

two central pillars on which the temple stood, bracing himself against him his right

hand on the one and his left on the other. Samson said, let

me die with the Philistines. Then he pushed with all his might and came

down the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he

killed many more when he died than while he lived. Then his brothers and

his father's whole family went down to get him. They brought him back and

buried him between Zorah and Estaou in the tomb of Manoah, his father.

He had led Israel for twenty years. Man. So that is the story

of Samson. That there are how you know, just that part just judges

sixteen or how he died, you know. And I just want to read

this in commentary scripture with the judge of sixteen and says God remembers his children

ud Team verse twenty eight. Then Samson prayed to the Lord, oh seven,

Lord, remember me, Oh God, remember me, Oh God,

Please strengthen me just once more, and let me, with one blow get

revenge on the Philistines from my two eyes. So what we could get out

the story of Samson is a common thing that a lot of people like to

talk about, you know, being careful with women. Man, you know

these Delilah type women out here, right, But the thing is the problem

and more women and all that. The Book of Proversse tells us about these

types of women. But we know that nature and what they could do with

havy. But it's on us men, our self control, our leadership,

our discretion, discernment. Wasn't understanding to reject these types of people and to

not give into these temptations and to not give into the flesh. You know,

Samson was a man who was given into his own less and desires.

That's why he failed, Okay, And we have to remember that what we

were set out on assignment by God. We have to stay obedient to God

no matter what. But with stories like Samson David Solomon, you see these

great men who you know, disobey God's word, who disobeyed God's plan,

who disobeyed God's lost such commandments, and you saw what happened to them.

So the lesson we got to take out of this man is to not give

it to temptation, to not give into other people's advances and orders. And

know that people always trying to set us up. People don't have our best

interest. People always want us to compromise our faith or our beliefs or what

have you. And we're not standing for that, okay. And these last

days we are affirm in the Word of God. We are firm in the

Gospel. We are affirm in all the Bible, okay, and we are

not letting nobody stray us away from that. A man, we are on

this narrow path, and we're gonna stay on this narrow path, amen,

because it's a lot of distractions, a lot of temptations and a lot of

things that's trying to alert people away from God or what have you. And

people got their battles out there, you know what I mean. So that's

why we got to always pray for each other and always encourage one another.

Iron sharper's eyeing each other, man, you know, because we got to

be strong for the Lord. Man, you know, we got to be

firm and obedient, y'all. Obedience is how is where our victory is.

Amen. Obedience man, all right, So very important man to be careful.

You women out there got to be careful for certain men. You brothers

out there, got to be careful for certain women. Men. Alright.

These people out here, man, they ain't got no good intentions. Man,

these people don't really care about us. They don't care about our faith,

they don't care about the creator we serve, and none of that.

All right, We in this world, among these nations scattered, and we'd

be in these environments and situations that are basically ungodly. Man. So you

got to always be firming the word, always be firming the faith, no

matter where you at, in all four quarters of the earth. Amen,

most definitely. All right. So that's the reading of Judges chapter sixteen,

verses one through thirty one. Now what I would love to do is read

the recommended reading scriptures as well. So we're gonna go to the Book of

Proverbs chapter twenty nine, verse twenty three. All right, because these recommended

scriptures are always related to the story in itself. Okay, So Proverbs twenty

nine, verse twenty three, a man's pride brings him low, but a

man of a lowly spirit gains honor. All right. So now we will

go into the Book of Romans chapter six verses twelve through fourteen. All Right,

Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that

you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to

sin as instruments of wickedness. But rather offer yourselves to God as those who

have been brought from death to life, and offer the parts of your body

to Him as instruments of righteousness. Mm hm. For sin shall not be

your master, because you are not under law but under grace. All right,

Now, let us go to the Book of Ephesians, chapter six,

verses eleven through eighteen. And obviously this is one of my favorite scriptures,

and many other people is you know, deal with the armor of God.

Amen. So Ephesians chapter six, Versus eleven through eighteen. I'll read ten

through eighteen the whole way. Finally, be strong in the Lord, in

his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you

can take your stand against the devil schemes. For our struggles not against flesh

and blood, but against the rulers and against the authorities, and against the

the powers of the dark world principalities, and against the spiritual forces and evilness

and wickedness, and high places and heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the

full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you

may be able to stand your ground. And after you have done everything to

stand, stand firm. Then, with the belt of truth buckled around your

waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted

with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace. In addition to all

this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all

the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the

sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in

spirit on all occasions. Pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all

kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always

keep on praying for all the saints. I definitely just want to reread if

Heesire six thirteen. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so

that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your

ground. And after you have done everything to stand you know that part.

Man gotta be firm people, You know a lot of us being these different

murky complex where situations or environmentsal what have you. Man, you just got

to be firm and the word of God. People, Amen, So let

us always be firm always. All right, Now, let us go to

the commentary title of a trash potential. You knew that guy in high school,

the guy with all the money, the looks that call, the clothes,

and the fastest car. He was the popular one, the guy everyone

liked to hang out with, the one who was a lock for being voted

most likely to succeed. But instead of taking advantage of all these advantages,

he decided to spend his time chasing girls and partying. To dismay of his

parents, to the dismay of his parents, and the ruined of his GPA

trust fund babies, college playboys, frat house social committee chairman to direct these

terms that other guys, to accused them of writing Daddy's coattels, and to

call into the question their work ethic and the seriousness with which they take life.

Those who have lessen the world can only scratch their heads and wonder what

they could do with the same perks. Now, this is a stereotype,

to be sure, a few bad apples don't spoil the whole barrel in this

case. But as we can't think back on that one guy and not wonder

what happened, so also we can't read the story of Samson not wonder what

went haywire. Mighty Samson, who has never lost a battle, is captured

by a woman, tortured by his enemies, and is slaved until his death.

The mighty warrior who was killed, who has killed scores of his enemies

with red Minmentary's tools and with his bare hands, strips up with his bare

hands, trips up on the most obvious employs. The one who was the

one who was to be dedicated to God's service for the purpose of saving his

people, ends up in bondish to the very people he was intended to conquer.

What was he thinking? How could he have subjected himself to this kind

of trickery? Didn't Delilah ask him repeatedly about the secret of his strength?

And couldn't he see where this was leading? Did he forget that the Philistines

had come into their house, come into their house, or tried to capture

him on a number of occasions, or did he just enjoy playing this game

knowing he couldn't lose. The sad fact is that Samson was just as human

as you and I. He allowed his eyes to lead him astray, and

he allowed his pride to strategize for him. In some sense, he was

a victim of his own success, and he learned the hard way that even

a slugger with a perfect battened average can strike out when it matters most.

So what can we learn from Samson's story today? Were you the one in

high school who squandered your advantages and made foolish choices? Can you think back

on times when you deliberately disobeyed what you knew to be God's will for your

life and paid the price? If so, gained encouragement From the end of

samson story, God gave him a second chance to show that he was God's

man, and Samson struck a crippling blow to his enemies. God also gives

us more chances than we can count to return to Him and rededicate ourselves to

His mission in the world. Amen. Things that take away from Things that

take away from the commentary? Why was it so easy for sam to ignore

his greatest weakness? How would you describe your greatest weakness? How could God

help you turn your weakness into a quality he can use in his great strength?

Amen? People lessons to learn? Okay, So let us not walk

around with too much regrets or guilty conscious or a self pity or would have

you. Okay, any bad choices or mistakes we made in our life,

the Most High, the mis Iah, redeemed us for it. Okay.

His blood was shed for that. Okay. His blood shed for our sins,

our transgressions, our iniquities, all filth, all wrong. Okay.

So another day you wake up, God, just give you another chance to

get it right, get closer to Him through a son, and to make

better choices according to your life, your purpose, and your future. Okay.

And if you don't really have all the answers right now, you don't

have no clarity on what your purpose is, what your futures will have you,

keep crying out to God, keep asking him for to let the Lord

of villa to you. Okay. So just know that God gives us so

much chances. His grace and mercy is so unlimited. Okay, So let's

not take advantage of it or abuse it. All right. Let's handle our

assignment for God and you know, get it done. Amen. So that's
