ability, man with all your might, love the Lord, your golf,
all your heart, soul and strength, all of it. All right,
yes, yes, y'all. So today's message, we're going to continue our
Bible reading series. All right. We last left off on the Book of
Malachi, and that was a great read as well, and that was the
last chapter of the Old Testament. So now we are in the New Testament,
all right. So now we're going to get to the Book of Matthew.
All right. The New Testament is something that's mostly preached throughout every ministry
of church that you hear today, which is reasonable to understanding because so much
things relatable is still going on. The Word is alive, all right.
God is a true, living God, and it's word is very evident,
and things are going on. So much that's been prophesized throughout the scriptures.
All right. So the Old Testament, some of that was you. It
was really the history of the how God made the earth and every the heavens
and the earth, the humanity aspect of it, the bloodlines, the genealogies,
the tribes, and Us as a people, and geography and the land
and war and you know, different inflicts with different nations, and then the
captivity of Israel and then well the establishment of Israel, the covenants of Abraham,
I could Jacob, the promises, the covenants, then the captivity of
Israel, the tribes, the kingship of Israel. That the captivity also the
Babylon All right, So the Bible, the Old Testament, it goes into
detail about the captivity to Egypt and the captivity to Babylon, and also dealing
with Assyria and Moab and other different nations as well. Then you just see
that the rising of priesthoods, certain priest high priests and prophets as well.
So the Old Testament is kind of based around that, a lot of prophets
and prophecy. This New Testament is the revealing of all the prophecies, the
revealing of Christ, the fulfillment of it at the end times, the prophecy
being fulfilled, and much more and more revelations. Okay, so we're gonna
get into the Book of Matthew chapter what I look forward to it. We're
going to go through that and then we'll close out the whole message with the
prayer a priest blessing and given all the praise on the glory to the most
High God of Abraham, music and Jacob and his only big gude son to
die for our sentence. Amen. All right, y'all. So let's go
to the Book of Matthew, chapter one. So the thing with this Bible
has some commentary as well, so we'll kind of read through that as well.
All right, So let us go, all right. The author Matthew
also called Levy the task collector the audience the Greek speaking Jews. The date
probably between a d. Sixty and seventy setting. Matthew most likely writes from
Israel, although some believe he writes from Syrian Antioch. Essentials of Matthew the
first page of the New Testament, open with a list far from born.
Matthew's genealogy leading to Jesus, makes for worthwhile reading. We learn that Jesus
doesn't enter the world in a vacuum. He enters history. His birthplaces him
in the culture, a situation in the family. When God becomes man,
he accepts more than the human body. He takes on the human experience.
As you read Matthew's account of jesus life. Appreciate the sense of his through
a connection that feels nearly every page, whether challenged by man or by Satan.
Jesus demonstrates that he's the son of God. He preachers, teachers,
and performs miracles not to prove that he's the Lord of Savior, but because
he is Lord of Savior. What to look for in Matthew thought provoking stories
by Jesus, Awkward moments between Jesus and his opponents, difficult moments between Jesus
and his followers, all inspired miracles that heal and change people. The wonders
of fulfilled prophecies, unforgettable characters around Jesus. Matthew, Chapter one, Genealogy
of Jesus, A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David,
the son of Abraham. Abraham was the father of Isaac. Isaac the
father of Jacob. Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers. Judah the
father of Perez and Zarah, whose mother was Tamar. Perez the father of
Hezron. Hezron the father of ram Ram, the father of Amen Adab Amenadab,
the father of Nashan. Nashan the father of Simon. Simon the father
of Boas, whose mother was rahab Rahab bo Asked, the father of Obed,
whose mother was Ruth. Obed the father of Jesse and Jesse, the
father of King David. David was the father of Solomon, whose mother has
been Yi's wife. Solomon. The father of Rehabam Rehabor and the father of
Abijah Ibaja Ibaja, the father of asa Asa, the father of Jehesha Fat
Jejesha Fat, the father of Jeharram Jehoram, the father of Uzia Uza,
the father of Jatham Jatham, the father of a haas AHAs, the father
of Hezekiah Hazekaiah, the father of Manasseh Manasai, the father of aman Amanda,
father of Josiah and Josiah. The father of Jakoi, Naya, Jaka
Nyah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon. After the
exile to Babylon, jack and Nyah was the father of Satayal Sheltiel Schatil,
the father of Zarababel Sir Rababel, the father of Abeyud Abud Abyud, the
father of Eliah Kim Eliakim, the father of Azore Azore, the father of
Zadok, Sac the father of Akim, Akim, the father of Eliud,
Eliud Eliah, the father of Elizar. Elizar the father of Mathon, Mathon
the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of
Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who was called Christ. Thus there
were fourteen generations in all, from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to
the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Christ the birth
of Jesus Christ. This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about.
His mother, Mary was plused to be married to Joseph, but before they
came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
Because Joseph, her husband, was a righteous man, did not want to
expose her the public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
But after he had considered this, the Angel of the Lord appeared to him
in a dream and said, Joseph, son of David, do not be
afraid. Do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because
what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth
to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because
he will save his people from their sins. God does reaches out to save.
She will give a birth to a son, and you are to give
him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
I love rereading that part. All this took place to fulfill what the Lord
has said through the prophet the Virgil will be with child and will give birth
to a son, and they will call him Emmanuel, which means God with
us. God is with us. When Joseph woke up, he did what
the Angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son,
and he gave him the name Jesus. All right, y'all. So
that's the Book of Matthew, Chapter one reading, very awesome, beautiful read,
just discussing the history, the bloodline and the genealogies of Abraham and David,
David to the exiles of Babylonia and the exiles to Jesus. Right,
so it shows you how long that linage in that bloodline is. Even through
captivity and exile, we were still procreating and being fruitful, a multiplying.
And you see this whole bloodline of genetic makeup of Christ, all right.
And it's important to stress this because if we accept Christ is our Lord and
Savior, we have to accept of course they die for our sins, and
that he is a son of God. We have to also accept who he
was as a man, you know, his whole bloodline, who was related
to his purpose, what he said, what he did. We have to
accept every aspect of Christ. We can't reject a deny any aspect of Christ.
So he is the son of Abraham, he is a son of David,
all right. And those type of aspects you'll be surprised on people don't
want to believe, like people will nitpick what they want to and don't want
to believe out of Christ, you know what I mean. So it's important
to accept every aspect of him king. And you also see the old situation
with Mary and Joseph and how she was consumed. She was conceived by the
Holy Spirit. So God did a very powerful thing for Mary at that time,
all right. And it also goes back to fulfilling the prophecy of what
Isaiah was saying well, in the Book of Isaiah, Isaiah talked about how
she'll be born of a virgin, all right, So Isaiah been prophasized about
that, all right. If there's any prophit who prophasized about Christ the most
in the most detailed way, it was definitely Isaiah. Like God gave Isaiah
so much detail and insight regarding Christ and what he was going to do and
his whole purpose or what have you. Are right, So that is the
Book of Matthew chapter one reading. Now we were going to the Book of
Matthew chapter two. Reading, all right, the Book of Matthew chapter two.
Here we go. Also, excuse me before I could tell you Matthew
chapter two, I just wanted to go more into detail about Matthew chapter one
of Garden his name, right, So there might be many people who may
be listening to this, who's more to the Hebrew and more different types of
people of different walks of life, different languages and tongues, and who's more
hung up on grammar and translations or what have you. And they'll say stuff
like, oh, well, it's Jesus, not his name, it's yahwa
shi is your shoe wa Yhama Shiyak, like you know, the people are
arguing debate about that. But the reason why we shouldn't get so hung up
in detailed about arguments with his name and translation is because when you read the
Book of Proverbs chapter thirty, verse four, it basically says a rhetorical question
about what his father and his son's name is because it has multiple meanings and
names. And also when you read Revelation chapter nineteen, verse twelve, when
the most High Sun comes back, he's gonna come back with a name written
on him nobody knows but him. So when he comes back, the name
written on him is not gonna say yes Shoe or Yahama Shiyak or Jesus or
Yahawishi' is not gonna say any of that. It's gonna say a name written
that only he knows. When John saw that vision Revelation, he couldn't even
interpret it. So that's why we shouldn't get so hung up and about what
his name is or what's not his name, because at the end of the
day, every tongue is gonna confess who he is. Every kneed is gonna
bout out to who he is. Anyway, you know what I mean of
all walks of life, all people off for quins earth going to bow down
and um confess who he is anyway, So let's not get so hung up
on translations and debate or argue about that. Um. The body of Christ
don't need that right now. We shouldn't be arguing about literature and grammar.
Their souls to be saved and we need to spread the gospel. Amen.
So just wanting to clarify that, all right. So whether you call him
Jesus your shua how much shaky hawashi your shua? Um yea haward shy?
I mean, hey, it is, it is what it is. Don't
get so hung up on it. The prophets they all had they all had
different types of names to call him by. Two Um, some said the
branch, some said divine, some said and Manuel subset, the son of
Man. Every even the prophets, had different names to call him by.
So not everybody's gonna call him by the same exact name, okay, So
let us not have too much differences, and differences are pride about translations and
stuff. Amen. Let us fear the Lord all on, all right.
So now let us go to the Book of Matthew Chapter two. The visit
of the Magi the Maggie after Jesus was born in Bethlehem and Judea, Judea
during the time of King Harod. Maggie Magi the visit of King Harod.
King Herod from the East king to Jerusalem and asked, where is the one
who has been born King of the Jews. We saw his star in the
east and have come to worship him. When King Herod heard, he was
disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the
people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them whether the Christ
was to be born at Bethlehem and Judea. They replied, for this is
what the prophet has written. But you, Bethlehem, in the land of
Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah. For out
of you will become a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.
Then Herod called the wise men, secretly found out from them the exact
time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, go
and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him,
report to me, so that I too may go up and worship him.
After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and
the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped
over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they
were overjoyed. Or coming to the house, they saw their child with his
mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their
treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, of incense, and of mirror.
And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod,
they returned to their country by another route the wise men when they had gone,
and an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph and dream get up.
He said, take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay
there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child
to kill him. So he got up, and he got up, took
the child and his mother during the night, and left for Egypt, where
he stayed until the death of Herod. And was it was so fulfilled what
the Lord had said through the prophet. Out of Egypt, I called my
son. When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the wise men,
he was fierce and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and
Bethlehem, and excuse me all the boys in Bethlehem and his vicinity who were
two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from
them the wise men. Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled.
A voice heard in Rama weeping in great morning, Rachel weeping for her
children and refusing to be comforted because they are no more. The return to
Nazareth. After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in the dream
to Joseph and Egypt and said, get up, take the child and his
mother, and go up to the land and go to the land of Israel,
for those who were trying to take the child's life for dead. So
he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land
of Israel. But when he had when he heard that Arculus was reigning in
Judea, and Judea in place of his father heard, he was afraid to
go there. Having been warning the dream, he withdrew to the district of
Galilee, and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So its
fulfilled what was said through the prophets he would be called a Nazarene. All
right. So that's the Book of Matthew, chapter two reading right there,
very interesting to read. So this is discussing the birth of Jesus and how
all came to past. And the thing about this whole process was that they
saw the star, you know, the Wiseman, the three wise men,
they were out walking along and they're searching for that star. And then once
they saw that star in the east, they went and go worship Jesus.
The thing about the Constellians the stars, what people to understand is like when
a certain person is born of God, a chosen person, the Constellians,
the heavens, the stars, everything kind of shakes up in his position a
certain way. So like say, if a prophet of God was born,
the wise people who studied the stars, they would they would see it.
When a prophet's born, the Constellians look a certain way. When a warrior
for God was born, the stars look a certain way. But when Jesus
was born, they knew it was totally different because they never seen nothing like
that. That's why they were so overjoyed about it, because they were anxious
and curious about the prophecy be fulfilled. And these people they understood astronomy,
they understood all that stuff. They understood the stars, the constellians, all
the different things. And this is not about this is not about mixing up
with astrology, not like that. This is just saying that when God didn't
make the sun, moon and stars, he did make it for the seasons,
and he did have plenty of reasons to to to make those things.
And Jesus's birth was an example of that. It was amazing example of God's
creation. And King Herod wanted to kill Jesus, so jesus parents had to
flee and go to Egypt, you know what I mean. So it's kind
of funny how God brought us out of Egypt, you know, out of
captive of Egypt. But then Jesus and had to go over there out of
safety. So that's how crazy and hectic it was. Because we have to
remember, this is all through the exile and everything, and we were still
scattered or what have you. But Jesus was able to come back to Israel,
come back in his homeland after King Herod had died. All right,
So the Book of Matthew chapter two reading is a very interested reading, you
know, so they really try to kill the Son of God. But God's
plan, who will always supersede anybody's plan. Amen. So Jesus and came
back to Nazareth. Sent to Nazareth. Now what we would do is go
to the book of Matthew chapter three. Reading it right, we'll go to
the Book of Matthew chapter three. Here we go. John the Baptist prepares
the way. In those days, John the Baptist came preaching in the desert
of Judea and saying repent for the King of heavens. Near This is he
who spoken of through the prophet Isaiah, a voice of one calling in the
desert. Prepare the way for the Lord, Make straight paths for him,
Make a straight way for the Lord. John's clothes were made of camel's hair,
and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts
of wild honey. People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and
all the region of the Jordan, confessing their sins. They were baptized by
him in the Jordan River. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and
Sattissees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them, you brewed
of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath, produce fruit
in keeping with repentance. And do not think you can say to yourselves,
we have Abraham as our father. I tell you that out of these stones
God can raise up children for Abraham that acts already at the root of the
trees. And every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down
and thrown it to the fire. I baptize you with water for repentance.
But after me he will come one who is more powerful than I, who
soundles I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy
Spirit and with fire, his manoying fan fork in his hand, and he
will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up
the chaff with unquenchable fire. But John was going in the baptism of Jesus.
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.
But John tried to deter to him, saying, I need to be baptized
by you, and do you come to me. Jesus replied, let it
be so. Now it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all
righteousness. Then John consented. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went
up out of the water. At that moment, heaven was opened, and
he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him,
and a voice from heaven said, this is my son whom I love.
With him, I am well pleased. Wow, powerful. For right there,
that's the Book of Matthew, chapter three right there, So this gets
very interesting now John the Baptist, it gets introduced right, But what we
have to understand about the New Testament when we read this right, depending on
the chronological order or the historical order of it, what have you, many
of things throughout the New Testament definitely got taken out, many things. And
this is a clear example because you see how chapter two it just talks about
his birth and Jesus being a baby, and in chapter three it just jumps
to Christ like being a full adult and just getting baptized by John. But
but all in all, it just shows that many things out the scripture has
been left out or taken away or what have you. But that's why it's
always important to constantly seek God, because the scriptures is what we have available.
This is what we have and we use them. But we have to
know more things about the things of Christ and what have you know what I'm
saying. So we got to ask God, the actual source for that through
revelations or dreams, because it's important to know those things, because it would
be nice to see more of his upbringing, his build up and things of
that nature. But in chapter three of Matthew, John the Baptist he is
preaching is baptizing as well, and that's important, you know what I'm saying.
And the Pharisees and Satases came to him, and John basically reproofed him.
He basically rebuked them and was letting them know, like, hey,
man, the one coming after me. He baptized the Holy Spirit of the
fire. So so John already knew, like the way Jesus holding what he
was going to do to fulfill prophecy. And John he was so humbling,
he was so like in all of Jesus. He's like, hey, you
should be baptizing me. Why am I baptizing you? You know what I'm
saying. But Jesus like, now I have to go through this process as
well. I can't skip that, you know, So it's always important to
have a humbling approach towards one another. And we always have to remember that
everybody's like on different levels when it comes to God. And it's not like
an elitism thing of what have you. It's just like knowing your position,
knowing your role. Thing Like John understood how powerful Jesus wasn't what he's going
to do, and John respected it. John didn't try to get in his
way or disrupt his walk or envy a covet um. You know, John
went about it the right way. And yeah, you know, you have
to understand who's who, and what's what, and who's annoying to do what,
who's equipped to do what things? You know, those things are very
important. And um, it's amazing to see Jus get baptized and you know,
the glory of God just came upon him. The heavens was open and
everything. I think that's just very beautiful. And the dove came upon him,
that's just amazing. And the voice saying that this is my son whom
I love with him, I am well please, that's just powerful and amazing.
That's why every message I do on my podcast, I keep trying to
like tell y'all like get baptized, like getting new life start over. I'm
constantly trying to like install that through the best way. I can't whoever with
message I'm doing, because we have to all repent. Man, we all
have to baptize all we have to get baptized, We have to all be
delivered, we have to all be set free. What have you? Some
people have been delivered, some havn't. Some people need their encounters with the
Lord. Some people need fresh starts and new lives overall. All right,
so let us really get the Lord now, amen. So that's the Book
of John, I mean the Book of Matthew chapter three reading. Okay,
it's also fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah as the Book of Matthew chapter three.
Now we're going to the Book of Matthew chapter four. All right, the
Book of Matthew chapter four. Here we go. Theemption the temptation of Jesus.
Then Jesus was led by the spirit into the desert to be tempted by
the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
The tempter came to him and said, if you are the son of God
tell these stones to become bread. Jesus answered and said, it is written.
Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes
from the mouth of God. Then a devil took him to the Holy City
and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. And if you
are the son of God, he said, throw yourself down, for its
written. He would come out as anxious concern you, and they will lift
you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against
a stone. Jesus answered him, it is also written, do not put
the Lord your God to the test. Do not tempt the Lord. Again,
the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the
kingdoms of the world and their splendor. All this I will give you,
he said, if you will bow down and worship me. Jesus said to
him, away from me, Satan, for it is written it is written,
worship the Lord your God and serve him. Only. Then the devil
left him, and angels came and attended to him and minister to him.
Jesus begins to preach. When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison,
he returned to Galilei, leaving Nazareth. He went and lived in Capernaum,
Kapernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naftally,
to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah, land of Zebulun and
land of Natalie, the way to the sea along the Jordan Galilei of the
Gentiles. The people living in darkness have seen a great light. On those
living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.
From that time on, Jesus began to preach repent, for the Kingdom of
Heaven is near the calling of the first Disciples. As Jesus was walking beside
the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and
his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they
were fishermen. Come follow me, Jesus said, and I'll make you fishes
of men. At once, they left their nests and followed him. Going
on from there, he saw two other brothers, James's son of Zibbide,
and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zibbide,
preparing the nets. Jesus called them immediately, and immediately they left the boat
and their follow and their father and followed him. Jesus heals the sick.
Jesus went throughout galilely teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news to the
kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about him
spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with
various diseases, diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon possessed, those
having seizures and the paralyzed, and he healed them. Large crowds from Galilee,
the the Copolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and the region across the Jordan
followed him. All right. So that's the Book of Matthew, chapter four.
Reading. Now, this is a very very intense chapter right here,
because it gets really real for Jesus, right and we're going to continue reading
the commentary on this as well. But right here, Jesus goes through temptation,
and he was finishing up his fasting of forty days and forty nights,
and the Spirit led him into the desert to be tempt about them. So
the Spirit led him. So the Holy Spirit, the comfort of the Helper.
When it leads us to places, it also leads us to trials and
tribulations, hardships, test, all types of things. So the spirit led
Jesus to be tempted by the devil, all right. So God was in
controlled this all the way. And the devil came to him and was basically,
you know, basically wanting his worship and his power, and Jesus wasn't
having it. And Jesus said, flee, get away from me, you
know. And Jesus stood his ground all right and held it down. And
that's a very powerful thing that we must keep to ourselves. We have to
be firm in the Word of God. Through that test and what he was
going through the devil, Jesus was firm in the Word of God. It
wasn't out of Jesus on will, power or his own flesh. Remember this
is all spirit. This is all the spirit in the word, the spirit
and the word, all right. Remember the word is your weapon in this
armor of God. Jesus had that weapon of the Word on him. Okay,
he hold out to the Word. He kept saying, it is written,
it has written, has written. So he always said it was written.
Do not put the Lord your out to test. You always said,
it is written, worship the Lord of God and serve him only. That's
just powerful, so powerful. It is written, man does not live on
bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
So that's how you defeat Satan with the word and resisting him. All right,
we have to resist the devil in our walks of life. All throughout
our walks of life. We have to resist temptation and lust and selfish desires,
selfish ambitions. We have to resist those things. You know what I
mean? That the enemy, the devil, he is crafty and cunning about
how he goes about things. With certain things. Sometimes he could come off
very blatant and easy to read him. In the other cases he can be
very smooth and slick. So you have to always be watchful and alert and
sober. You gotta be watchful people are right. And then as we go
through and after Jesus was done with that, the angels came to him and
minister to him. So God sent angels to comfort Jesus while going through that
process. And I just think that's just so crazy. How you how the
devil come to the son of God asking him to bout on to him.
Ain't that something, man, that's crazy. That's crazy because you see throughout
the scriptures how Satan he went at Job, but he had to check of
a god before they do that. But stead he went at Job, he
went at Jesus. He just you know what I'm saying, He went to
all types of people. So when you're a true person of God and he
goes after you as a spiritual warfare, right, So that's why you go
always gott stay ready, you gotta stay strong. You never be fearful.
You always be strong and bold about your walk with God, all right.
Because the thing about the devil, with his strategy and how he attacks people,
he usually likes to attack people when they're at their lowest, like you
know what I mean, when they're vulnerable, or he likes to attack people
right when they're about to get a new open door, about to reach a
new spiritual level, or when they're about to advance in the kingdom of heaven.
That's when the devil likes to reattack people sometimes when you're at the low,
when they're at their best. Like you noticed when he attacked Job.
He attacked Job when Job had all his possessions and Joe was established, and
Job was in his right mind and had his family, his resources. That's
when Satan attacked him. He didn't attack Job in the middle of his process
or early in his life. He attacked that job when Job had accomplished almost
everything I would want out of him. You get what I'm saying. And
you see here when Satan attacked Jesus, he attacked Jesus right when he was
going towards his ministry and preaching. So when you're about to reach that level
of go a higher step, that's when he likes to attack, try to
trip you up as well, try to throw you off because he always wants
people's attention. They always wanted to distract people and intervene in a weird way
and just want to be disruptive. You have to remember he does come to
still kill and destroy, so you know what I mean. And he got
understand that he is the adversary, so he likes to just be causing CHAOSO
what have you us? Stability? But Jesus was firm and he kep saying
it is written. It is written, so the scriptures and the word it's
so important, all right. You got to be firming the word people.
And also as you read the Book of Matthew Chapter four. Reading, you
saw more unto Jesus beginning to preach and going through different parts. What he
was preaching was repent for the King of Heaven is near. So his ministry
was the foundation of that was repentance and the King of Heaven is near,
all right. And also he was calling half his disciples. So you notice
when Jesus came his disciples. The disciples were just carried along, just doing
whatever, and that Jesus calls them. He says, hey, I'll make
you fishers of men. You know, and think about these disciples. They
left everything behind to follow Jesus. They left behind their family, their wife,
their children, their job, they occument, they left everything behind.
So we're all gonna have to do that too. We're gonna all have to
leave everything behind for Jesus. We got to bear it all. We got
to leave it all behind, Okay. And then also Jesus gets into the
healing. He's healing all types of sicknesses. Amen. He is healing those
who have every disease, every disease, sickness among the people. You know
what I'm saying, the various diseases of people suffering severe pain. The demon
possessed people who have seizures that paralyzed Jesus. Healed him with no problem.
All right. So when when the Lord pours out his spirit upon us,
all right to healing and casting out and all the different things. You gotta
embrace the power of God. You gotta walk in it. Be spiritually mature,
spiritually discipline and walk in it, all right, and do it to
glorify God and to help many people. God gives you things to help others
with it or remember that. Okay. So that was the whole Book of
Matthew chapter for the whole chapter of the Book of Matthew chapter for reading.
So I'm going to do is read this commentary that's added within between your scriptures.
Okay, So let's see what we have here. Unavoidable temptations. Bring
up this topic next time you're with a bunch of buddies. If God knows
that something will tempt you, and he also knows you'll give in to the
temptation, why doesn't He keep you from it? As you ponder that question
for yourself, you might also wonder why God permitted Satan attempt Jesus. The
devil's attack came at three different levels, First, Satan went after an immediate
felt need Jesus hunger. Then the devil shifted to a deeper question, will
God really protect Jesus? Finally sempted. Satan tempted Jesus with the ultimate issue
of authority. Jesus countered each assault with God's word. He didn't argue,
he answered. Even when Satan tried to attack him by misquoting scripture. Jesus
exposed the misrepresentation with a biblical response. How Jesus responding can help us deal
with temptations. But this doesn't answer our questions about why temptations come. Doesn't
God care? Why does God even allow us to go to places where will
experience temptation? Again, God's word provides the answer. No temptation has seized.
You accept what is common to man, and God is faithful. He
will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you
are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand
up. You can stand up under it First Corinthians, chapter ten, verse
thirteen. In other words, God does keep us from countless temptations beyond what
we can bear. What's more, God always provides the resources we need to
overcome the temptations we faced. We need only to choose whether we'll try to
handle temptations on our own or rely on God's help and his word to guide
us through temptations as we develop wisdom, maturity, and endurance. To take
away which of satans three methods of attack tend to represent the most dangerous temptations
you face? When have you experienced God's guidance when you face temptations? How?
How do Jesus fight against Satan's temptations? What can you learn from this?
In other words, toations when we met when we meet them at first,
or asked the line that word upon Sampson. But if we overcome them,
then the next time we see them, we shall find a nest of
honey within them. John Bunyan. It's a great quote right there. So
that was a commentary added to the Book of Matthew chapter four, verses one
through eleven, and they're recommended reading about this topic as well. It's the
Book of Genesis chapter one through thirteen, the Book of First Chronicles chapter twenty
one, verses one through eight, and the Book of Ephesians chapter four,
verse seventeen through twenty four. All right, So those are recommended readings regarding
temptation. All right. So I was a commentary included within the Book of
Matthew chapter four. Reading. Now, let us go into the Book of
Matthew chapter five, reading, all right, the Book of Matthew chapter five.
Here we go, all right, the Book of Matthew, chapter five,
the Bettitudes. Now, when he saw the crowds, he went up
on the mountain side and sat down. His disciples came to him, and
he began to teach them, saying, bless are the poort and Spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for
they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the
earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will
be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Bless are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Bless are
the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Bless are those
who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you persecute you and falsely say all kinds of
evil against you because of meat. Rejoice and be glad, because great is
your reward in heaven. For in the same way they persecuted the prophets who
were before you salt in life. You are the salt of the earth.
But if the salt loses the saltiness, how can it be made salty again.
It is no longer good for anything to be thrown out and trampled by
men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill
cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a
lamp basket a lampstand. Instead they put it on a stand, and it
gives light to everyone in the house. The same way, let your life
shine before men, that they may see a good deeds and praise your Father
in heaven, the fulfillment of the law. Do not think that I have
come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish
them, but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth. Until heaven
and earth disappeared, not the smallest letter, nor the stroke of a pen,
will by any means disappear from the law. Until even everything is accomplished.
Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches us to
do the same, will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven. But
whoever practicing it teaches these commands will be great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the phariseason it teaches
of the law, you will certainly not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Murder.
You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, do
not murder. Anyone who murders will be subjected to judgment. But I tell
you that anyone who is angry with his brother I was subject to judgment.
Again, anyone who says to his brother raca is answerable to the san Hedrin.
But anyone who says you fool will be in danger of the fire of
hell. Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar, and
there, remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there
in front of the altar. First, go and be reconciled to your brother.
Then come and offer your gift. Settle matters quickly with your adversary.
Adversary who is taking you to court, do it while you're still with him
on the way, or he may hand you over to the judge, and
the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown
into prison. I tell you the truth. You will not get out until
you have paid the last penny. Just an input it commentary Matthew five forty
eight. God is perfect. Be perfect, therefore as your heavily father is
perfect. All right, bless continue adultery. You have heard that it was
said, do not commit adultery. But I tell you that anyone who looks
at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If
your right eye causes you to sin, gog it out, and throw it
away, it is better for you to lose one part of your body,
there for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right
hand caused you to sin, cut it off and throw it away, it
is better for you to lose one part of your body, then your whole
body to go into hell. Regarding divorce, it has been said anyone who
divorce his wife must give her a certificate of divorce. But I tell you
that anyone who divorces his wife, except for martial unfaithfulness sexual morality caused her
to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries a divorce woman come into adultery.
M oaths again, you have heard that it was said to the people
long ago. Do not break your oath, but keep the oath you have
made to the Lord. But I tell you do not swear at all,
either by heaven, for it is God's throne, or by the earth,
for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is a city
of the great King. And do not swear by your head, for you
cannot make even one hair white or black. Simply let your yes be yus
and your no. No anything beyond this, beyond this comes from the evil
one. And eye for an eye. You have heard that it was said
eye for an eye, a tooth for tooth. What I tell you,
do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek,
turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you
and take your tunic, let him save your cloak as well. If someone
forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to
the one who ask you, and do not turn away. From the one
who wants to borrow from you. Love your enemies. You have heard that
it was said, love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell
you love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may
be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes us sun to rise on
the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous end the unrighteous.
If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?
Are not even the task collectors doing that? And if you greet only your
brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do
that? Be perfect? Therefore, as your heavily Father is perfect. That's
the Book of Matthew, chapter five, reading right there, That right there
speaks a lot. You know, when we read the word, we read
the gospel, it's a real gut chuck, you know what I'm saying.
It's a real ego chuck. You know, the word is a double edged
sword because when you read more of God's Word, of how pere it is,
you start to see all your flaws in it as well. It's like
a reflection, right, It's an evaluation of yourself. It's not just about
gaining wisdom now to understand, it's also about wanting to reflect on your areas
in your life and wanting to improve as well. So Matthew Chapter five is
just very interesting because he starts off preaching and talking about, you know,
bless out the poor spirit and bless with those whom mourn, talking about those
who are blessed for their condition or situation, how they're going about it right,
and how the kingdom is theirs. And then he goes further to describe
and to solve the earth and those who are the light of the world right,
And it's important to cling to those duties and responsibilities as well. You
know, for those who have solved the earth, they got a lot of
flavor. You know, they give out the flavor of God it. You
know, it goes back to the Bible verses of Psalm when it says old
tastes see how good the Lord is. So someone who's to solve the earth,
they have that type of presence where they could make people see and taste
how good he is. Right, and those who are lights of the world,
the Lord's light just shines through them. So as a person who walks
in a room, you could just notice them right away. That's really God's
light shining through them. They could the lot of Christ right so lie of
the world. They just shine everywhere they go, and they speak on the
goodness of God and the revelations of Christ and his goodness and his words and
his teachings. So that's what the salt and the light do, you know.
I mean, it also discuss it's about the fulfillment of the law,
how he came to fulfill it and I put it away, so we still
do adhere to the law such of commandments. You know, he came to
fulfill it and I put it away. We're just adding grace and mercy to
it, you get what I'm saying. But he still wants us to still
have that fear of the Lord within us and respected his laws that he made,
because he didn't make those laws, that commandments in vain, you know
what I mean. And then it talks about murder, and Jesus went and
look about that. But he's saying, whoever it hates his own brother without
causes a murderer and a fool, And whoever calls brother a fool deserves a
hell fire. You get what I'm saying. So that's how serious it is
when you have something against somebody, because when it's also discussing brother, it
also could just mean anybody your neighbor, a friend, and stranger could mean
anybody who if you have something against someone, you know, as selling matters
with whoever you're dealing with, right, and then also goes more to adultery.
Right. So usually the common thing of adulter is is, you know,
being with someone's already married. But Jesus goes marner to details as even
if you look at a woman lustfully, that's already adulter in your heart because
it's kind of like your mind and your heart is already doing all the acts
you would physically want to do. You get what I'm saying, Because sin
it starts in the heart. And that's what Jesus was kind of like pointing
at the intuches of our hearts, like if we have pure hearts and we
shall see God, and if our hearts in the right place, then you
know, he's kind of highlighting how adultery starts in the heart. You know
what I mean, Unlus is a very crazy thing that many people today deal
with. I mean, we live in a very lustful world. We live
in an over sexualized society, hyper sexual society. You know, men are
more over the top when it comes to sex more than ever are women.
You know, women are so called sexually liberated and all that women come out
just a certain way or it could be provocative about their sex life. And
we're it on his sleeve. And we live in this only fans culture.
We live in this horror culture, this whole culture. And lust is a
high thing today. And we have all these like female rappers, these female
artists, these female musicians who sell sex to their music or who are selling
their bodies are just a certain way, I have a certain influence on little
girls or who have a mentor like everybody within the music culture, fashion culture,
entertainment, Hollywood, all that it promotes sex and lust and adultery like
every TV show movie you watch. It's a type of sexual immorality aspect of
it. You know. But lust is a very dangerous thing. And Jeez
even describes more about lust and adultery all within one and how it really starts
in the heart, you know what I mean. He describes it's better to
have one part of your body God than to have your thrown your whole body
thrown and hell, you get what I'm saying. So we gotta really change
our perspective in our mindset and our outlooking attitude towards things, you know,
because God wants to be holy, all right. We live in a very
unholy world. We live in a very sinful, wicked generation. So you
know, we got to really get it right where we're following Christ. Okay,
And then Gius goes more to about divorce and you know, and that
details about that with sexual morality and martial unfaithfulness as well, you know what
I mean. He goes more to about that, and then when it comes
to the oath, he's saying, just let your ysps, let your no
be no, and be firm about your decisions that you make and agreements to
things. You get what I'm saying. Jesus wants to be firm about it.
He goes more further to the eye for an eye situation when he talks
about letting it go turn your other cheek, being a bigger person, not
always retalian and everything or what have you, not always taking a bait into
revenge and getting even with someone, you know what I mean. So Jesus
teaching us how to go about that as well. But you have to also
remember that vengeance is of the Lord. Vince belongs to the Lord, all
right. And Jesus also preaches about loving your enemies, having love for your
enemies and praying for them and all that right, and those who persecute you
and all that for his name's sake, it for him. So it is
a lot he touched detail about, you know what I'm saying. That's important
that we took these lessons of pie to our lives because many people like to
nitpick the word of God. People like to nick pick the Gospel and try
to like they want to follow some of it, but not all of it,
you know what I mean. But He taught us to follow all of
his sayings and all his teachings. You get what I'm saying. So that's
the Book of Matthew chapter five reading. Okay, now let us go to
the Book of Matthew chapter six. All right, the Book of Matthew chapter
six. Here we go, old, I'll scratched. A matter of fact,
we're just gonna wrap it up for now. We'll just finish up with
chapter five read. We just finished that up, So that wraps up today's
message. It'll just be from the Book of Matthew, chapters one through five.
From now. I want to read this thoroughly and not all SPEEDI lee
and hasty. I want to really read it thoroughly, all right. So
that's the message for today, just the Gospel and the beginning of the upbringing
of Jesus from the Book of Matthew, chapters one through five. All right.
