go with a priestly blessing. We'll close out with a prayer and given God
and his son all the glory of prayers of honor forever. Amen. Yes,
yes, y'all out right. So let us dive into Second Kings chapter
thirteen. In the three and twentieth year of Joash, the son of a
Hazia, Ahaziah, the king of Judah, Jehoas, the son of Jehu,
began to reign over Israel and Samaria, and reigned seventeen years. And
he did that which was evil in the side of the Lord, and followed
the sins of jerobo Am the son of Nabat, which made Israel sin.
He departed not therefrom and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.
And he delivered with them into the hand of Hazel, King of Syria,
and into the hand of Benidad, the son of Hazel, all their days
and jo Jehos Jehoas but sought the Lord, and the Lord hearknatum, for
he saw the oppression of Israel, because the King of Syria, the King
of Syria, oppressed them. And the Lord gave Israel savior, so that
they went out from under the hand of the Syrians, and the children of
Israel dwelt in their tents as before time. Nevertheless, they departed not from
the sins of the house of Jero Boham, who made Israel sin, but
walked therein, and there remained the grove. Also in Samaria. Neither did
he leave of the people to Jehoas, but fifty horsemen and ten chariots and
ten thousand footmen, for the King of Syria had destroyed them and had made
them like the dust by a thrushing. Now the rest of the acts of
Jehohuas Jehoas, and all that he did, and his might. Are they
not written the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. And Jehohas
slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria, and joe Ash,
his son, reigned in his stead. In the thirty and seventh year
of Joash, King of Judah, began Jehoash, the son of Jehohas,
to reign over Israel and Samaria, and reigned sixteen years. And he did
that which was evil in the side of the Lord. He departed not from
all the sons of Jeroboam, the son of Nibad, who made Israel son,
but he walked therein and the rest of the acts of Joash, and
all that he did in his might, wherewith he fought against Amaziah, king
of Judah. Are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the
Kings of Israel. And Joash slept with his fathers, and Jeroboam set upon
his throne, and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
Now Alicia was falling sick of his sickness, whereof he died, and Joash,
the King of Israel, came down to tomb and wept over his face
and said oh, my father, my father, the charity of Israel,
and the horsemen thereof. And Alicia said, unto him, take bow and
arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows. And he said to
the King of Israel, put thy hand upon the bow, and put his
hand upon it. And Alicia put his hands upon the King's hands. And
he said, opened the window eastward, and he opened it. Then Alicia
said shoot, and he shot. And he said, the arrow of the
Lord deliverance, and the arow delivered, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria.
For thou shalt smite the Syrians in effect, till thou halt consumed them.
And he said, take the arrows, and he took them, and
he said it to the King of Israel, smite upon the ground. And
he smote thrice and stayed. And the men of God was wroth with him,
and said, thou shouldest have smitten five or six times. Then hast
thou smitten Syria till thou hast consumed it, whereas now thou shalt smite Syria.
But Thrice and Alicia died, and they buried him, and the bands
of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming end of the year. And
it came to pass as they were burying a man, that behold, they
spied a band of men, and they cast the men into a suppoeta of
Alicia. And when the men and when the man was let down and touched
the bones of Alicia, he revived and stood up upon his feet. But
Hazaoh king of Syria, opressed Israel all the days of Jehoas, And the
Lord was gracious unto them, and had a comp compassion on them, and
had a respect unto them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence.
As yet, so Hazaoh, King of Asyria died, and Benadad his son,
reigned in his stead. And jeho asked the son of Jehohoas took again
out of the hand of Benadad, the son of Hazel, the cities which
he had taken out of the hand of Jehoas his father. By war three
times did Joas beat him and recovered the cities of Israel. So that's the
Book of Second Kings, Chapter thirteen. Reading. Right now, we're gonna
go into a book of Second Kings chapter fourteen, Reading a Right Second Kings
Chapter fourteen. Here we go in the second year of Joash, son of
Jehehoash, king of Israel, reigned Amazia, the son of Joash, King
of Judah. He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign,
and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was
Jehoadan of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the side of
the Lord. Yet yet not like David his father, he did according to
all the things as Joash's father did. Howbeit the high places were not taken
away. As yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.
And it came to pass as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his
hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.
But the children of the murderers he slew not according to that which is written
in the Book of the Law of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded saying,
the fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children
be put to death for the fathers, but every man shall be put to
death for his own sin. He slew of edom in the Valley of Salt
ten thousand, and took slave by war and called the name of it Jackthil
until this day. Then Amasia sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehohas,
son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, come, let us
look one another in the face. And Jehoash the King of Israel, sent
to Amaziah, king of Judah, saying, the thistle that was in Lebanon,
sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, give thy daughter
to my son, to my wife. And there passed by a wild beast
that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle. Thou hast, indeed,
men Edam, and thine heart hath lifted thee up glory of this and
terry at home. For why shouldst thou meddle to thy hurt that thou shouldst
fall even thou and Judah with thee. But Amasia would not hear. Therefore,
Jehoash, King of Israel, went up, and he and Amasia,
king of Judah, looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which
belongeth to Judah. And Judah was put to the worst before Israel, and
they fled every man to their tents, and Jehoash, King of Israel,
took Amasia, King of Judah, the son of Jehoash, the son of
the son of Ahazia at Beth Shemesh, and came to Jerusalem and broke down,
break down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim until the corner
gate four hundred cubits. And he took all the gold and silver and all
the vessels that were found in the house of the Lord, and in the
treasures of the king's house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria. Now
the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might and
nah, and how he fought with Amaziah, King of Judah, are they
not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. And
Jehoash slept with his fathers and was buried in Samaria with the Kings of Israel,
and Jeroboam, his son reigned in his stead. And Amasia, the
son of Joash, King of Judah, lived after the death of Jehoash,
son of jehohas King of Israel fifteen years. And the rest of the acts
of Amasia are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings
of Judah. Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he
fled to Lachish Lakish Lashish, But they sent after him to lash Lakish and
slew him there, and they brought him on horses, and he was buried
at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David. And all the people
of Judah took Azariah, which was sixteen years old, and made him king
instead of his father Amasia. He built a laugh and restored it to Judah.
After that the king slept with his fathers. In the fifteenth year of
Amaziah, the son of Joash, King of Judah, Jeroboam Jeroboam, the
son of Joash, King of Israel, began to reign in Samaria and reigned
forty and one years. And he did that which was evil in the side
of the Lord. He departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam, the
son of Nabat, who made Israel to sin. He restored the coast of
Israel from the entering of Hamath until the sea of the Plain, according to
the word of the Lord God of Israel, which he by the hand of
his servant Jonah, the son of a Midtai, the prophet which was of
gath Heffer. For the Lord saw the affliction of Israel, that it was
very bitter, for there was not any shut up, nor any left,
nor any helper for Israel. And the Lord said not that he would blot
out the name of Israel from under heaven. But he saved them by the
hand of Jeroboam, the son of Joash. Now the rest of the acts
of Jerobaum and all that he did, and his might, how he warred,
and how he recovered Damascus and Hamath, which belonged to Judah for Israel.
Are they not written the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
And Jerobom slept with his father's even with the kings of Israel as Zaka
Riot his son reigned in his stead. So that's the book of Second King,
Chapter fourteen. Reading, he noticed it keeps showing a pattern of one
king doing good in the side of the Lord, and another king doing evil
the side of the Lord. And how it's all gonna be recorded in the
chronicles. So after first King and second Kings, his first chronicles that had
second chronicles. So when wegan to first chronicles, the second chronicles. It's
going to repeat the things before it, all right, So now that was
Second Kings chapter fourteen, reading. Now we're going to go into the Book
of Second Kings chapter fifteen. Reading. All right, Second Kings chapter fifteen.
Here we go. In the twenty and seventh year of jeral Bohm,
King of Israel, began azarias son of Amaziah, King of Judah, to
reign. Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign. And he
reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jacalia of
Jerusalem. And he did that which was right and decide of the Lord,
according to all that his father and Mazia had done saw save the save that
the high places were not removed, the people sacrificed and burnt ins and still
on the high places. And the Lord smote the king so that he was
a leper into the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house,
and Jatham, Jatham, the king's son, was over the house,
judging the people of the land. And the rest of the acts of Azariah
and all that he did. Are they not written in a book of the
Chronicles of the Kings of Judah, so Azaria slept with his fathers, and
they buried him with his fathers in the city of David and Jatham, his
son reigned in his stead. In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah,
king of Judah, did Zachariah, the son of Jerobam reigned over Israel and
Samaria six months. And Zakaria correct myself. Zakaria, the son of Jaralbam,
reigned over Israel in Samaria six months. And he did that which was
evil in the side of the Lord, as his fathers had done. He
departed not from the sons of Jerobaum the son of Nibad, who made Israel
the son and Shahalim, the son of Jabesh, conspired against him and smote
him before the people and slew him and reigned in his stead. And the
rest of the acts of Zachariah behold, they are written in the book of
the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. This was the word of the Lord,
which he spake until Jehu, and that sons shall sit on the throne
of Israel till the fourth generation. And so it came to past. Shalem,
the son of Jebeesh, began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year
of Uzia Yuziah, king of Judah, and he reigned a full month in
Samaria. For Menahem, the son of Gadi Gadai, went up from Terza
and came to Samaria and smote Shalem, the son of Jebeesh in Samaria and
slew him and reigned in his stead. And the rest of the acts of
Shalem and his conspiracy which he made behold, they are written in the book
of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. Then Menahem smote Tifsa and all
that were therein and the coast thereof from Terza, because they opened not to
him. Therefore he smote it and all the women therein that were with child.
With the child he ripped up in the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah,
king of Judah, began Menahem, the son of God could die to
reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria. And he did that
which was evil in the side of the Lord. He departed not all his
days from the sins of Jarabaum, the son of Nabat, who made Israel
to sin and pull and Paul, the king of Assyria came against the land,
and Menaheim gave pull a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might
be with him, to confirm the kingdom in his hand. And Menahem exacted
the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of
each man fifty shekels of silver to give to the king of Assyria. So
the king of Assyria turned back and stayed not there in the land. And
the rest of the acts of Menahem and all that he did, are they
not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. And
Menahem slept with his fathers, and Pacaya, his son, reigned in his
stead. In the fiftieth year of Azariah, king of Judah, Pecania,
the son of Menaheim, began to reign over Israel in Samaria and reigned two
years. And he did that which was evil and the side of the Lord.
He departed not from the sons of Jeroboam, the son of Nabat,
who made Israel de sin, but Pakah Pica, the son of Romalia,
a captain of his, conspired against him and smot him in Samaria in the
palace of the king's house which our God, our Gob and Rhea array,
and with him fifty men of the Glide, Giladites, Gleidites, and he
killed them and reigned in his room, and the rest of the ass of
Bakaya, and all that he did behold. They are written in the Book
of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. In the two and fiftieth year
of Azariah, king of Judah, Pika the son of Romalia, began to
reign over Israel in Samaria and reigned twenty years. And he did that which
was evil, and the side of the Lord. He departed not from the
sons of Jeroboam jerre Bam, the son of Nabat, who made Israel de
sin, and the days of Pekah King of Israel, came till Tiglath Pileser
King and Assyria King of Assyria, and took jean Aijohn and Abel Beth,
Maaka and Genoah and Kadesh and Hazer and Glide and Galilee all the land of
Natalie, and carried them captive to Assyria. And Hoshia. Hosheya, the
son of Allah, made a conspiracy against Paka, the son of Ramalia,
and smote him and slew him and reigned in his stead in the twentieth year
of Jatham, the son of Uzia. Yuzia and the rest of the acts
of Pica and all that he did behold. They are written in the book
of the Kronwells of Israel Kronkles of the Kings of Israel. In the second
in the second year of Peka, the son of Romalia, King of Israel,
began Jatham the son of Yuziah, King of Judah, to reign.
Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, And he
reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. As his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter
of Zadok Zadok. And he did that which was right in the side of
the Lord. He did according to all that his father Uziah had done.
Howbeit the higher places were not removed, the people sacrificed and burnt incense.
Still in the high places he built the higher gate of the House of the
Lord. Now the rest of the act of Joatham and all that he did
are they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.
In those days the Lord began to send against Judah rasin the king of
Syria, and Picah the son of Romalia and Joatham, slept with his fathers
and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and
AHAs his son reigned in his stead. So as a Book of Second Kings,
chapter fifteen, reading, now we're about to going to a book of
Second Kings chapter sixteen. Reading, All right, Second Kings, chapter sixteen,
Here we go. In the seventeenth year of Pica, the son of
Romalia Romalia, AHAs the son of Joatham, King of Judah, began to
reign twenty years old. Was a haws when he began to reign, and
reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And did not that which was right in the
side of the Lord, his God, David his father. But he walked
in the way of the kings of Israel. Yeah, and made his son
that passed through the fire according to the abominations of the Heathen, whom the
Lord cast out from before the children of Israel. And he sacrificed and burnt
incense in the high places and on the hills and under every green tree.
Then Rasinned king of Syria, and Pakasan of Ramalia, King of Israel,
came up to Jerusalem the war, and they besieged the Haws, but could
not overcome him. At that time, Rasin, King of Syria, recovered
Elath Elath to Syria and drave the Jews from Alath, and Assyrians came to
Alath and dwelt there until this day. So a Haas sent messenger to Glath
Pauser Pulisser, King of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy
son, come up and save the save me out of the hand of the
King of Syria and out of the hand of the King of Israel, which
rise up against me. And the house took the silver and gold that was
found in the house of the Lord and in the treasures of the kings of
house, and sent it for a present to the King of Assyria. And
the King of Assyria hearken unto him, for the King of Assyria went up
against Damascus and took it and carried the people of it captive to kur As
slew Resin, and King a Haas went to Damascus to meet Tiglath Palazzar,
King of Assyria, and saw an altar that was in the altar that I
was at Damascus, and King of haa sent to Urijah. Urijah the priest
the fashion of the altar and the pattern of it, according to all that
the workmanship thereof and Uraja Urija the priests built an altar according to all that
King of Haas sent from Damascus. So Eurija the priest made it against the
King AHAs came from Damascus. And when the king was come from Damascus,
the king saw the altar. And the king approached to the altar and offered
their arm, and he burnt his bunt. He burned his burnt offering and
his offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the bluff his peace
offerings upon the altar. And he brought also the brows and altar which was
before the lord from the forefront of the house, from between the altar,
and from and the house of the Lord, and put it on the north
side of the altar. And King a Haas commanded Eureja the priests, saying
upon the great altar, burned the morning burnt offering and the evening meat offering,
and the king's burnt sacrifice and his meat offering, with the burnt offering
of all the people of the land and their meat offering and their drink offerings,
and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all
the blood of the sacrifice, and the brows and altar shall be for me
to inquire by. Thus did Eureja the priest, Euraijah the priest, according
to all that King AHAs commanded. And King AHAs cut off the borders of
the bases, and removed the laver from off them, and took down the
sea from off the brows and oxen that were under it, and put it
up hand the pavement of stones, and the covert and the convert for the
Sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king's entry. Without
turned he from the house of the Lord for the king of Assyria. Now
the rest of the acts of AHAs which he did, are they not written
in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah. And ah slept
with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David.
And Hezekiah, his son, reigned in his stead. So as the Book
of Second Kings chapter sixteen, reading, Now we're gonna go to the Book
of Second Kings chapter seventeen, reading, all right, the Book of Second
Kings, Chapter seventeen. Here we go, and the twelfth year of Ahah's
King of Judah began Hosheiya Hoshiah, the son of Allah, to reign in
the Sumaria over Israel nine years. And he did that which was evil in
the side of the Lord. But not as the kings of Israel that were
before him against him came up Shah Manasser, king of Assyria, and Hoshia
became his servant and gave him presence. And the King of Assyria conspiracy in
Hoshia where he had sent messages to so King of Egypt, and brought no
presence to the King of Assyria, as he had done year by year.
Therefore the King of Assyria shut him up and bound him in prison. Then
the King of Assyria came up throughout all the land and went up to Samaria
and besieged it. Three years. In the ninth year of Hoshia, the
King of Assyria took Samaria and carried Israel way into Assyria and placed them in
Hallah and in Haber Habore by the river of Ghazan, and then the cities
of Medis of Meads. For it was for so it was that the children
of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, which I brought them out
of the land of Egypt from under than hand the Pharaoh, king of Egypt,
and had feared other gods, and walked in the statutes of the heathen,
whom the Lord cast out from before the children of Israel and of the
kings of Israel, which they had made. And the children of Israel did
secretly those things that were not right against the Lord their God. And they
built them high places in their all their cities, from the tower of the
Watchmen to the fenced city. And they set them up images and groves in
every high hill and under every green tree. And there they burnt incense in
all the high places, as did the heathen, whom the Lord carried away
before them, and wrought wicked things to provoke the Lord to anger, for
they served idols, whereof the Lord had said unto them, ye shall not
do this thing. Yet the Lord testified against Israel and against Judah by all
the prophets and by all the seers, saying, turn ye from your evil
ways, and keep my commandments and my statues accord to all the law which
I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my service the
prophets. Notwithstanding, they would not hear, but hardened, hardened their necks,
like to the neck of their fathers, and did not believe in the
Lord their God. And they rejected his statues and his covenant that he made
with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them. And they
followed vanity and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about
them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them that they should not do like
them. And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and
made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove and worshiped
all the hosts of heaven and served bail. And they caused their sons and
their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and
sold themselves to do evil in the side of the Lord, to provoke him
to anger. Therefore, the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed
them out of his sight. There was none left but the tribe of Judah
only, and Judah kept not the commandment of the Lord their God, but
walked in the statutes of Israel, which they made and the Lord rejected all
the seat of Israel and afflicted them and delivered them into the hand of the
spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight. For he rent
Israel from the house of David, and they made Jeroboam Jeroboam the son of
Nabat king, and jero Bom drove Israel, drove Israel from following the Lord,
and made them sin a great sin. For the children of Israel walked
in all the sins of Jeroboam, which he did. They departed not from
them until the Lord removed Israel out of his sight, as he has said
by all his servants their prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their
own land to Assyria until this day. And the King of Assyria brought men
from Babylon and from Catha, A, from Ava, and from Hamathe Safar
Vam Safarviim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children
of Israel. And they possessed Samaria and dwelt in the cities thereof. And
so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there that they feared not the
Lord. Therefore, the Lord sent lines among them which slew some of them.
Wherefore they spoke. They spake to the King of Assyria, saying,
the nations which thou hast removed and placed in the cities of Samaria, know
not the manner of the God of the land. Therefore he hath sent lines
among them, and behold, they slay them, because they know not the
manner of the God of the land. Then the King of Assyria commanded,
saying, carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence, and
let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of
the God of the land. That one of the priests whom they had carried
away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, had taught them how they should
fear the Lord. Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put
them in the house of the high places, which the Samaritans had made every
nation in their cities, wherein they dwelt. And the men of Babylon made
Sacoth, Benath, and the men of Kuth made Nrgal, and the men
of Hamath made Ashima, and the Avites, and the Avites made nib Hous
and Tartak, and the Syrah Safarvites burnt their children in fire to Adramelech,
ad ad ad Ramlech, at Ramlech, and Anamalich, the gods of Safarvan.
So they feared the Lord and made unto themselves of the lowest of them
priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the
high places. They feared the Lord and serve their own gods after the manner
of the nations, whom they carried away from thence until this day they do
after their former manners. They fear not the Lord. Neither do they Neither
do they after their statues, or after their ordinances, or after the law
commandment which the Lord commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel,
with whom the Lord had made a covenant and charged them, saying, ye
shall not fear of the gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve
them, nor sacrifice to them. But the Lord who brought you up out
of the land of Egypt with great power, and have stretched out arm him,
ye shall fear him, Shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship,
And to him shall ye do sacrifice. And the statues and the ordinances
and the Law and the commandment which he wrote for you. Ye shall observe
to do forever more. And ye shall not fear other gods. And the
covenant that I have made with you, ye shall not forget. Neither shall
ye fear other gods. But the Lord, your God, ye shall fear,
and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their own their former manner.
So these nations feared the Lord and served their graven images, both their
children and their children's children, as did their fathers, so do they until
this day. Right. So that's a heavy chapter right there at the Book
of Second Kings, chapter seventeen. So that's discussed how these kings made Israel
sin and made them get into idle worship and divination of passing through the fire,
bail worship, worship, and other gods doing all types of different rituals
and wickedness that the heathen of the pagan did. So God really punished Israel
and scattered them and even at one point got rid of all the tribes out
of his sight and then even got to Judah. So stuff like this is
why we're so scattered all four corners of the earth, you know, because
what they did back then led to all this stuff. Now, that's how
crazy generational curses are. That's how long sins can linger on through a bloodline
or through a people. You get what I'm saying. When you sent against
the Lord and break the commandments and the covenant things of that nature. All
your resources, your land, your identity, your power, your possessions,
all those things get stripped away. God strips all over the way, you
know. And the thing with Israel stiff necked people. They were very hardheaded,
very rebellious. They did what they wanted to do. And you notice
in the scripture that keeps saying until this day. So even until this day,
people are still stiff neck and rebellious. And this is the most biger
generation of all. So this this era is a lot more rebellious than hardheaded.
That's why so much stuff is so negative to day, and so much
beast stuff's going on today. You know, it all goes back to being
stiff neck and hardheaded and not wanting to listen, but really wanted to listen
to the Lord in his ways and how to help go about things. You
know, So that's the Book of Second King's chapter seventeen, reading all right,
Now we're gonna get to a Book of Second Kings chapter eighteen, reading
all right, Second King, chapter eighteen. Here we go. Now,
it came to pass in the third year of Hoshiah, son of Allah,
king of Israel, that Hezekia, the son of a Haas, King of
Judah, began to reign twenty and five years old. When was he when
he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem.
His mother name was also a b by the daughter of Zakaria. And he
did that which was right in the side of the Lord. According to all
that David his father did also to throw that note, And Ezekia is also
in the Book of Proverbs as well. Some things come from Ezekia and his
mother. So just a little hint in there, all right. And then
he removed the high places and break the images, and cut down the groves,
and break in pieces the brows and serpent that Moses had made until those
days, the children of Israel did burn incense to it, and he called
it Nahishtan. He trusted in the Lord God of Israel, so that after
him was not like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that
were before him. For he claimed to the Lord, and departed not from
following him, but kept his commandments which the Lord commanded Moses. And the
Lord was with him, and he prospered with her. Soever he went forth,
and he rebelled against the King of Assyria, and served him not.
He smoked the Philistines even unto Gaza Gaza and the borders thereof, from the
tower of the Watchmen to the fenced city. And they came to passing the
fourth year of King Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshiah, son
of Allah, King of Israel, that shah Mianazar, king of Assyria,
came up against Samaria and besieged it, and at the end of the three
years they took it. Even in the sixth year of Hezekiah, that is
the ninth year of Hoshiah King of Israel, Samaria was taken. And the
king of Assyria did carry away Israel to Assyria and put them in Hallah Halah,
and in Habor by the river of Ghazan, and in the cities of
the Meads the Medes. Because they obeyed not the voice of the Lord their
God, but transgressed his covenant and all that most of their servant the Lord
commanded, and would not fear, and would not hear them, nor do
them. Now in the fourteenth year of King Hazekiah, did Sennashirib, King
of Assyria, come up against all the fens cities of Judah and took them.
And Hezekiah, King of Judah, sent to the King of Assyria to
Lakish, say, I have offended, returned from me that which thou puttest
on me, will I bear? And the King of Assyria appointed to Ezekiah,
King of Judah, three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
And Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of
the Lord and in the treasures of the King's house. At that time did
Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the Temple of the Lord and
from the pillars which Hezekiah, King of Judah, had overlaid, and gave
it to the King of Assyria. And the King of Assyria sent tartan At
Rapsires, Rapsarus, and Rapshaki from Lakish to King Hezekiah with a great host
against Jerusalem, and they went up it came to Jerusalem. And when they
were come up, they came and stood by the conduct of the upper pool,
which is in the highway of the fullest field. And when they had
called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim, the son of
Hilkiah, Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shivna describe, and
Joah, the son of Assaf, the recorder. And Rapshak said unto them,
speak ye now, until speak ye now to Ezekiah. Thus set the
great king, the king of Assyria. What confidence is this? Wherein thou
trust is? Thou sayest? But are but vain words? I have counsel
and strength for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust that thou rebellist
against me? Now behold thou trustest upon the staff of his bruised read even
upon Egypt, on which if a man lein it will not go, it
will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh, king of
Egypt. But to all that trust on him. But if ye say to
me we trust in the Lord our God, is not that he whose high
places and whose alters a Zekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah
and Jerusalem, ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem. Now, therefore
I pray THEE give pledges to my Lord, the King of Assyria, and
I will deliver THEE two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part
to set riders upon them. How then wilt thou turn away from the face
of one captain of the least of my Master's servants, and put thy trust
on Egypt for charits and for horsemen. Am I now come up without the
Lord against this place to destroy it? The Lord said to me, go
up against this land and destroy it. Then said Elia Kim Eliakim, the
son of Helkiya and Sevna and Joah, to Rapture Kiss speak. I pray
THEE to thy servants in the Syrian language, for we understand it, and
talk not with us in the Jews language. And the ears of the people
that are on the wall. But Rapture Kiss said unto them, hath my
master sent me to thy master and to THEE to speak these words? Hath
he not sent me to the men which sat on the wall, that they
may eat their own dungu and drink their own piss with you. Then rapture
Kiss stood and cried with a loud voice in the Jewish language, and spoke
spake, saying, hear the word of the great King, the King of
Assyria. Thus saith the King. Let not Hezekiah deceive you, for he
shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand. Needed. Let
Hezekiah make you trust in the lords, saying, the Lord will surely deliver
us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the King
of Assyria. Hark not to Hezekiah, For thus set the King of Assyria,
make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me,
and then eye every man of his own vine, and every one of
his fig tree, and drink ee everyone the waters of his sistern, until
I come and take you away to land like your own land, a land
of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of
oil, olive and hunt, and of honey, that ye may live and
not die. And hearken it to Hezekiah when he persuadeth you, saying the
Lord will deliver us. Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at
all his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria. Where are
the gods Hermath and of our pad Where are the gods of Safarvam, Hannah
and Eva of Ay? Have they delivered Samaria out of my hand? Who
are they among all the gods of the countries that have delivered their country out
of my hand? That the Lordsha delivered Jerusalem out of my hand? But
the people held their He's answered him not a word, for the King's commandment
was saying, answer him not. Then came a Leah kim Ali him,
the son of Helkiya, which is over the household in Chevna, describing Joe
other son of Aussuth the recorder to Ezekiel with their clothes rent and told him
the words of Rapshika. All right, y'all. So that is the Book
of Second King, chapter eighteen reading, and that goes more to detail about
King Hezekiah. King Ezekiel was a righteous king who did right in the side
of the Lord. So it's good to read more about him because he's also
included in the Book of Proverbs. I think maybe Psalms if he has a
poetry. If I'm not mistaken, maybe I'm wrong, if y'all correct me.
But I know he's definitely the Book of Proverbs. At the Kazekiel gets
talked about in Proverbs thirty or Proverbs twenty eight. His mother starts talking to
him about wisdom and everything and kingship as well. So it's good to see
King Ezekiel did right in the side of the Lord and he stuck to the
Lord unlike the other kings. Amen. So there you have a child.
All right. So we're just gonna close out and then wrap it up on
the Book of Second chapter eighteen reading. We'll continue the Book of Second King
