<v Speaker 1>Jared, Katy and Josh makes one hundred.
<v Speaker 2>You gotta turn on your mic.
<v Speaker 1>I thought you turned it on, it was on.
<v Speaker 3>I had a conversation about you this weekend with my wife.
<v Speaker 1>Oh that's wonderful, I said.
<v Speaker 3>There is something Katie does that I just do not
<v Speaker 3>understand it. I will never understand it. Yeah, and it
<v Speaker 3>drives me insane.
<v Speaker 2>You know what.
<v Speaker 3>I turn all the mics on, I turn them up,
<v Speaker 3>and then Katie turns hers off and goes.
<v Speaker 2>And then it does not turn it back on.
<v Speaker 3>And it fascinates me that this happens one hundred percent
<v Speaker 3>of the time.
<v Speaker 1>You know what, one hundred daily actually daily money.
<v Speaker 4>Years I have controlled my own microphone, and so this
<v Speaker 4>has been a learning curtain.
<v Speaker 2>Why you turn it back on after you too?
<v Speaker 4>Because you turn it on, I'm not ready for it.
<v Speaker 4>So I'm just not ready for it.
<v Speaker 3>You notice it's on, then you are over there controlling it.
<v Speaker 3>You turn it off. I get off.
<v Speaker 2>So then you should, after twenty years, be able to
<v Speaker 2>turn it back on.
<v Speaker 1>And no, and that's the thing, is it on.
<v Speaker 4>You turn it on prematurely for me, so I'm not
<v Speaker 4>ready and so me even turning it off, that's an
<v Speaker 4>extra step this whole logic a little.
<v Speaker 1>It just throws me off a little because I would still.
<v Speaker 2>Forget to turn it on.
<v Speaker 4>I'm used to controlling my own mic, so it does
<v Speaker 4>throw me off a little.
<v Speaker 1>I will admit it.
<v Speaker 2>That's it. We can. But would you be capable of
<v Speaker 2>turning it back on? We're turning it on and.
<v Speaker 1>On that side, I did it for twenty plus years.
<v Speaker 1>I got this.
<v Speaker 3>But never mind my great weekend. It was a jam
<v Speaker 3>packed weekend. Gosh, Katie was raving about you went to
<v Speaker 3>You went clubbing with your daughter this week.
<v Speaker 2>I saw the pictures. You guys looked adorable.
<v Speaker 1>First of all, thank you, and.
<v Speaker 2>You look like you're just having the time of your life.
<v Speaker 1>We did.
<v Speaker 4>I brought my daughter to a place in Colorado Springs
<v Speaker 4>called the Black Sheep.
<v Speaker 1>What could go wrong?
<v Speaker 2>So tell me about the Black Sheep because I've never
<v Speaker 2>heard about it.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, So here's the thing is last week, you remember
<v Speaker 4>me saying that my top of mind thing I had
<v Speaker 4>to do last week was get tickets to Sublime to
<v Speaker 4>their show in April for their thirtieth anniversary tour.
<v Speaker 1>They had two.
<v Speaker 4>Different sales last week for the tickets, and I didn't
<v Speaker 4>get them in either one. They's such a demand for
<v Speaker 4>this band out at Red Rocks in April that I
<v Speaker 4>was not able to get my hand on any tickets
<v Speaker 4>and I was so upset about it, and so Friday
<v Speaker 4>night I was telling everybody, I'm just like, I'm just
<v Speaker 4>really bombed to like, I know radio people, I'm gonna
<v Speaker 4>reach out hopefully I'm able to make it to the show.
<v Speaker 4>I woke up Saturday morning and here's the thing for
<v Speaker 4>people who are not familiar Sublime. The lead singer of
<v Speaker 4>Sublime passed away back in the nineties, and when he
<v Speaker 4>passed away, he left an eleven month old son named Jacob.
<v Speaker 4>Jacob is now thirty plus years old and the.
<v Speaker 1>Lead singer of Sublime.
<v Speaker 4>So it's a big deal and part of the reason
<v Speaker 4>they're doing this thirtieth anniversary tour. Well, what I didn't
<v Speaker 4>realize is Jacob also has another band called Jacob's Castle.
<v Speaker 4>I followed Jacob on Instagram, and when I woke up
<v Speaker 4>Saturday morning, I saw a post that was like, Hey,
<v Speaker 4>We're playing at Black Sheep in Colorado Springs tonight, And
<v Speaker 4>I was like, is this a scam?
<v Speaker 1>What? Like, you're kidding me? You're absolutely kidding me.
<v Speaker 4>So I must go to that, I know, and I
<v Speaker 4>looked on their website, the Black Sheet Sheep's website, and
<v Speaker 4>they had tickets available for twenty five dollars.
<v Speaker 2>You guys, these prices are unheard of.
<v Speaker 4>The tickets for Red Rocks were starting at three hundred
<v Speaker 4>dollars for all the way up there, much more intimately
<v Speaker 4>two hundred person venue. It's very small, and I'm just like,
<v Speaker 4>this can't be real. Katie has fallen for littler scams
<v Speaker 4>than this. I was like, I felt like I was
<v Speaker 4>getting duped. I bought two tickets anyway, because I was like,
<v Speaker 4>I'm not missing out on this chance.
<v Speaker 1>So I called my kiddo.
<v Speaker 4>I was like, hey, this show is in the Springs
<v Speaker 4>seven o'clock. We have to go, and she's like absolutely,
<v Speaker 4>So she came to my house. We drove down to
<v Speaker 4>the Springs. It was a very seedy part of I've
<v Speaker 4>never been.
<v Speaker 1>In this part of Oh my gosh.
<v Speaker 4>Thankfully we were able to park just like a block
<v Speaker 4>and a half down from the venue, so that was
<v Speaker 4>oooh my gosh.
<v Speaker 2>How is the venue is it just like a little
<v Speaker 2>hole in the way.
<v Speaker 4>It was like spooky smaller than Mission Ballroom, like so
<v Speaker 4>little and intimate and again just off the side of
<v Speaker 4>the road. Uh, They've got like one sign out front
<v Speaker 4>that says the.
<v Speaker 1>Black actual flickering exactly like, so it's.
<v Speaker 4>So small compared to where you would imagine the lead
<v Speaker 4>singer of Sublime would be playing. And I was just
<v Speaker 4>like again still thinking that I'm gonna be I'm gonna
<v Speaker 4>loose some money on this, right. So we pull up
<v Speaker 4>and we get there and nobody started playing yet, so
<v Speaker 4>we're just like, well, we're just gonna get in the
<v Speaker 4>very front and stand there. So ZOEA and I at
<v Speaker 4>seven point thirty stand in the front of this venue
<v Speaker 4>and we don't move. I stood there for four hours,
<v Speaker 4>keeping my spot. But it's so funny because even like
<v Speaker 4>we're sitting there and a guy comes out on stage
<v Speaker 4>and he looks like a janitor.
<v Speaker 1>He looks like an old wizard, like he seriously does it.
<v Speaker 4>Comes out and we're both like, wow, they're like a
<v Speaker 4>little behind whatever, And all of a sudden, the janitor
<v Speaker 4>grabs the mic and just starts rapping, and I was like,
<v Speaker 4>what is happening.
<v Speaker 1>Turns out his name is actually the Wizard and he
<v Speaker 1>was so fun He caught me off guard a lot,
<v Speaker 1>like I was like, that's funny.
<v Speaker 4>So he comes out and performs, and then we have
<v Speaker 4>another band come out and perform a strange case.
<v Speaker 1>They here's the thing.
<v Speaker 4>Four bands hit the stage here, including Jacob's Castle with Sublime.
<v Speaker 4>Every one of them blew us away, Like it was intense.
<v Speaker 4>I've never had so much fun at a concert where
<v Speaker 4>I did not know any of the music.
<v Speaker 1>We were just having the time of our lives.
<v Speaker 3>And you go to you know, some time with your
<v Speaker 3>daughter and that was like your pictures really did make me.
<v Speaker 4>Smile to be able to hang out with her in
<v Speaker 4>a level like that where we're just enjoying music and
<v Speaker 4>meeting people. And it was so cute because at one
<v Speaker 4>point there was a like a lady who had a
<v Speaker 4>little bit too much to drink, right, and she was
<v Speaker 4>trying to like start a little moshpit o Zoe.
<v Speaker 1>She was trying to start a little mosh pit.
<v Speaker 4>Right there in the front, and people were like protecting
<v Speaker 4>Zoe with me like I was like, oh no, not
<v Speaker 4>the Nahna, you go mash somewhere else, drunk lady. It
<v Speaker 4>was funny because there were people like protecting her with me, Like,
<v Speaker 4>you know, she were here to see the band, but
<v Speaker 4>I don't need her to get her Like.
<v Speaker 1>It was so funny.
<v Speaker 2>But the oldest person there I was one of.
<v Speaker 1>There was so many people.
<v Speaker 4>Here's the thing too, is like I was torn on
<v Speaker 4>whether or not I could wear a Sublime T shirt
<v Speaker 4>to a Jacob's Castle show. Exactly is this? Like there
<v Speaker 4>were so many people that did I would have done that.
<v Speaker 4>So many people were wearing Sublime stuff, but you could
<v Speaker 4>tell it was the older people wearing the Sublime gear.
<v Speaker 4>They're like, this is my chance to see Jeff Bradley's
<v Speaker 4>so Jacob, And then you had the younger crowd who
<v Speaker 4>was there for the other bands, and Jacob's your.
<v Speaker 3>Vintage at this point, your vintage, your vantage, Like I
<v Speaker 3>was there from the beginning.
<v Speaker 1>Exactly there thirty years when that album came out.
<v Speaker 2>Like Jacob, the only thing I don't like about him
<v Speaker 2>is his hair. His hair is incredibly unsettling.
<v Speaker 1>What do you mean his hair is fat?
<v Speaker 3>Hair? Is he looks like one of those dogs that
<v Speaker 3>you see people walking around in the park where the
<v Speaker 3>hair is completely covering the eyes and everything, and you're wondering,
<v Speaker 3>how does that dog even see yeah, to go on
<v Speaker 3>his walk.
<v Speaker 2>It's uncomfortable to me. I want to go up there
<v Speaker 2>and brush it to this side.
<v Speaker 1>Are you jealous of his lettuce? Yeah, a little bit.
<v Speaker 5>I like I like his lettuce, as you say, I
<v Speaker 5>do like I like the the thickness of his lettuce,
<v Speaker 5>but the way it is styled, I just want to
<v Speaker 5>go brush it out of his face.
<v Speaker 4>Well, he's one of those people chanting and it's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>he's one of those people too that when he like
<v Speaker 4>he brushes it to the side.
<v Speaker 1>It's that whole like the.
<v Speaker 4>It is it is, And it's funny because, like, so
<v Speaker 4>we were in the crowd again and h all those
<v Speaker 4>people who were coming up to us and talking. There
<v Speaker 4>was one girl in particular who came up to us
<v Speaker 4>and she was like, Hey, I really like your guys' shirts,
<v Speaker 4>because Zoe and I both had Sublime stuff on. And
<v Speaker 4>we got to talking to this girl. Turns out she's
<v Speaker 4>the social media girl for the bands. So she is
<v Speaker 4>there with the tour and she starts talking to us
<v Speaker 4>and she told me because she was like, yeah, I'm
<v Speaker 4>grabbing footage of the Wizard.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, that's really his name, the Wizard, that's amazing.
<v Speaker 4>And so she's like, yeah, I'm here with Jacob supporting
<v Speaker 4>the show. I'm here going to all the stops and
<v Speaker 4>I just I stopped. I look at her. I'm like,
<v Speaker 4>Jacob Nol, Like, you're here with Jacob.
<v Speaker 1>She's like, yeah, we were just in Grand Junction. We
<v Speaker 1>came over the mountains last night.
<v Speaker 2>I'll then you.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, you're here with Jacob and she's like yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I like can we take a picture? I'll show him.
<v Speaker 1>And I'm like, so did you check their social She
<v Speaker 1>is you guys up. We are friends now.
<v Speaker 4>She probably will be coming back through in April with
<v Speaker 4>the tour and everything.
<v Speaker 1>But there's more to this story. There's more into this story.
<v Speaker 2>And I know.
<v Speaker 1>I know that you never have time for me, but
<v Speaker 1>this is a big deal for me.
<v Speaker 2>Is a big Can you talk in sixty seconds?
<v Speaker 1>I can try, I can absolutely try, but no.
<v Speaker 4>So we were talking and everything, and yeah, she said
<v Speaker 4>that she was a part of the band and she
<v Speaker 4>was the one who was recording all of the social
<v Speaker 4>media footage for the performance. So all of the people
<v Speaker 4>in the band were looking at her because she had
<v Speaker 4>her phone out and they knew they had to like
<v Speaker 4>perform to her camera and.
<v Speaker 1>I was standing right next to her. So the whole time,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, they're looking at me. Oh my god.
<v Speaker 4>So I like, at one point Jacob is performing and
<v Speaker 4>I'm not kidding, I have my hands on my face.
<v Speaker 4>I must look like the creepiest lady.
<v Speaker 1>Just staring at him. And he had to like take
<v Speaker 1>his eyes off me. He had he had to break
<v Speaker 1>eye contact.
<v Speaker 3>He's like, this is weird, crazy staring at me, his
<v Speaker 3>hair down in front of his eyes.
<v Speaker 2>A little bit more. Please.
<v Speaker 4>I took advantage, so I may have even said, you know,
<v Speaker 4>I work in radio and we have a performance studio
<v Speaker 4>in our studios if you ever want to stop by,
<v Speaker 4>like I was trying so hard.
<v Speaker 1>I've never used the radio card harder in my life.
<v Speaker 4>Then I did got the hots for they just look
<v Speaker 4>out the hots for them.
<v Speaker 1>There's no hots for him.
<v Speaker 4>He's Josh's age, so like, no, there's your mom over
<v Speaker 4>like I love his dad.
<v Speaker 1>If anything, like you know what I mean.
<v Speaker 2>You had the opportunity, O Jeremy.
<v Speaker 1>It's not like I.
<v Speaker 2>Did a lot of eye contact, a lot.
<v Speaker 1>Of eye creepy. It was creepy.
<v Speaker 4>You're actually gonna get served today, not only will we
<v Speaker 4>never be to that.
<v Speaker 2>Exactly.
<v Speaker 1>You can't come within this many feet of us. So
<v Speaker 1>so I'm hoping to get tickets for that Red Rocha.
<v Speaker 3>There we go, send me some pictures. We'll throw up
<v Speaker 3>on Socialist, all right, we'll do, we'll do.
