TD (00:01.624)
Good afternoon friends, wherever you are in the big wide world. This morning I was here on the homestead looking over the pasture.
It's officially cold in Texas and for those of you wondering it's about 40 degrees. Just chilly enough to wake you up.
I'm sipping some Texas mud.
TD (00:33.804)
And I've been thinking, I've been thinking about the wind. You know, we can't control the wind. The wind blows on us all. The economic wind, the political wind, the wind of culture. It blows on the rich and the poor, the believer and the unbeliever. But there was a man, a mentor to many.
named Jim Rohn and he used to say, it's not the blowing of the wind that determines your destination. It's the set of the sail.
The same wind blows on us all. The wind of disaster, the wind of opportunity, the wind of change, the wind of favorable and unfavorable circumstances. But why do we arrive at different destinations?
It's the set of the sale.
Today I want to help you set your sail. Because if you don't set it...
TD (01:52.898)
the current of this culture, the winds of Babylon are going to drive you right onto the rocks.
TD (02:05.494)
And to set that sail, we need to understand the waters we are navigating.
I've been thinking about two Latin maxims, two phrases that if you truly understand them, they will unlock almost every mystery in history, politics and economics. The first is key bono, which means
who benefits.
The second is caveat emptor. Buyer beware.
We live in a world that is tentative at best, a world of confusion, overstimulation, and moral fog. But confusion is a tool. It's a strategy. And when you look at the chaos, whether it's the food system, the monetary system, or the war machine,
TD (03:28.44)
You have to stop and ask. bono.
Who is profiting from this?
Usually it's they, them, and those. The central planners, the folks who think they can run your life better than you can. And that leads us to caveat emptor. Buyer, beware. Because they're selling you a bill of goods. They are selling you a synthetic history.
a derivative of money and fake food. Today, I want to arm you. I want to give you the intellectual ammunition to see through the fog. We're going to talk a little Austrian economics. We're going to talk about the philosophy of Jim Rohn.
And we're going to talk about building a fortress for your family. Because if you don't know the problem, the solution doesn't matter.
TD (04:53.676)
Let's start with the money. You have to follow the money.
If you look back at American history, a major turning point that I've already pointed out several times was 1913. That was the year we got the Federal Reserve Act in conjunction with the progressive unapportioned socialist income tax. Before that, you owned your labor. After that,
we became a debt slave to the military industrial complex.
Now I've been reading the Austrian economist, men like Ludwig von Mises.
These guys saw it coming a hundred years ago. They knew that if you let the government control the money supply, you lose your freedom. Mises said something that every free man should memorize. He said,
TD (06:07.944)
It is impossible to grasp the meaning of the idea of sound money if one does not realize that it was devised as an instrument for the protection of civil liberties against despotic inroads on the part of governments.
Did you catch that? Sound money isn't just about economics. It belongs in the same class as the Bill of Rights. When they decoupled us from the gold standard, when they gave us fiat currency, they didn't just change the money. They removed our protection against despotism.
TD (06:55.886)
Who benefits from things like inflation?
The first people to touch the money, the government and the banks. Who pays for it? You do.
Inflation is what eats your lunch, eats your legacy, and destroys your children's future. It's a hidden tax. Mises knew that if you don't have sound money, you don't have civil liberty.
And here's where Jim Rohn comes in. Rohn taught that failure is not a single cataclysmic event. You don't fail overnight. Instead, failure is a few errors in judgment repeated every day.
The Federal Reserve was an error in judgment in 1913. Leaving the gold standard was an error in judgment.
TD (08:14.198)
And we have repeated that error every single day since. And now we're drifting. Ron said, you can't afford to drift because you don't drift to the top of the mountain. You don't drift to success. You drift to failure. You drift to poverty. And as a nation, we have drifted into financial slavery.
because we didn't set the sale of sound money.
TD (08:51.094)
And what happens once the government can print out of thin air?
They don't have to tax you directly anymore. They can just print what they need.
And what do they need it for?
War.
Look at the timeline. Federal Reserve Act in 1913. Immediately followed by World War I. Then a brief law. Then World War II. Then Vietnam. Then Korea. Then Kuwait. Iraq. Afghanistan. Then...
TD (09:41.997)
Libya, the Sudan, then Ukraine, Palestine, and Iran. Now, Venezuela? Yeah, I see a pattern. I see a trend. And that would be endless wars and rumors of wars.
even with all the political talking points about peace and harmony, the wars don't stop.
TD (10:21.141)
I was raised in government school, so I learned all the talking points.
The victors write the history. I learned about the good guys and the bad guys.
TD (10:35.929)
History doesn't just repeat, rhymes.
Murray Rothbard, another brilliant Austrian thinker, put it bluntly.
Rothbard said, war is the health of the state.
He said that during war, the state really comes into its own swelling in power, in pride, and in absolute dominion over society. Think about it. World War II wasn't just a military conflict. It was essential in deconstructing the Western world and the family unit.
It was a social engineering project. It injected women into the workforce and destroyed gender roles. Key bono. Who benefited?
TD (11:42.243)
The corporations wanted your labor. The government wanted your taxes.
and the schools wanted your children.
TD (11:59.181)
The citizens? We're just collateral.
We're the funding source.
TD (12:09.497)
So how do they get us to go along with all of this?
propaganda.
from the time of the guards at Christ's tomb.
They've been paying people to lie.
TD (12:28.697)
Jim Rohn had a powerful concept regarding this. said, stand guard at the door of your mind.
He said, if someone came to your house and dumped a truckload of trash in your living room, you would be furious. You might get physical, but every day we let the news, the media, and the war machine dump trash into our minds. And we don't say a word.
We have to apply caveat emptor to the news. Don't buy the narrative.
We as Christians serve the Prince of Peace, but war is the health of the state.
and the state is always looking to get healthy.
TD (13:26.543)
Stan Gorr.
TD (13:30.575)
check replace.
Stand guard at the door, folks.
Don't let the trash in.
TD (13:43.659)
Okay, so they control the money.
and they used the money to fund the war.
But how do they keep us in line during peacetime, whenever that is?
they use technology.
They try to sell us a world without seasons, a world of eternal convenience.
TD (14:15.597)
I talked about one of the many of the synthetic food startups. One was called Remilk. They're making milk in fermentation tanks, no cows, just yeast spitting out proteins. And the CEO says it gives you the same experience as traditional dairy without the downside. Caveat mTOR.
buyer beware
This is the arrogance of central planners. They think they can replace God's design with a scientism experiment.
F. Hayek destroyed this idea. He called it the knowledge problem.
Hayek said, the furious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine they can design.
TD (15:27.097)
They think they can design a better milk than a cow. They think they can design a better family than God.
Hayek warned us that acting on this belief is likely to make us the cause of much misery. We are seeing that misery now.
They want you eating synthetic kibble in smart cities.
TD (16:02.393)
But here's the truth.
TD (16:06.571)
Life is about seasons. You can't hack the seasons.
TD (16:15.897)
Jim Rohn taught that there are four seasons of life and business.
First there's winter. Winter is inevitable. Some winters are long, some are short, but they always come. The economic winter is here. The inflation is here.
TD (16:42.179)
Rowan said, don't wish it were easier, wish you were better. Don't wish for less winter, wish for more skills. Winter is a time to get strong.
Then comes spring. Spring's opportunity. Spring is brief. You have to take advantage of it. You have to plant.
Rohn said, you must get good at one of two things, planting in the spring or begging in the fall.
TD (17:25.367)
and most people would rather beg the government.
for the sake of comfort.
TD (17:34.883)
then come summer.
That's when you protect what you've planted. The weeds are coming. The bugs are coming. You have to stand guard.
TD (17:50.263)
And finally, autumn, the harvest, you reap what you sow.
TD (18:00.641)
If you planted fake milk and fake money, you're going to harvest sickness and poverty. But if you planted truth, discipline, and hard work, you will harvest abundance.
TD (18:21.923)
The technocrats want you to believe in a permanent summer where the government takes care of everything. That's a lie.
embrace the seasons.
TD (18:39.535)
So if the system's rigged and the seasons are real, what's the solution? It's not voting harder. It's not waiting for the right political messiah.
TD (18:58.723)
The solution is the family economy. We have to stop thinking like consumers and start thinking like producers.
TD (19:12.143)
Hans Hermann Hoppe said that the process of civilization is to set in motion by an individual saving investment and the accumulation of durable consumer goods. A fall in the time preference rate.
TD (19:36.909)
That is the farmer's mindset. That is the family bank. You don't eat the seed corn. You plant in the spring. You protect in the summer. So you can harvest in the fall.
We need to build a family bank. Stop giving your money to the very people who hate you. Black Rock, Vanguard, State Street.
Stop utilizing the government approved tax deferred accounts like 401ks and Roth IRAs. Keep your capital in the family. Reinvest in your own businesses, your own skills, your own children.
TD (20:38.595)
Now Elon and the tech elites are talking about a universal basic or universal high income where robots and AI do all the work. Kibono.
Who benefits? If the robots do all the work, who owns the robots? Not you, not me.
TD (21:08.097)
Jim Rohn had the perfect economic rebuttal to this. He said, we get paid for bringing value to the marketplace, not time.
You can't fake value. A robot can do tasks, but real human work, mentorship, craftsmanship, care, that is value. Work is not a curse. Work is a necessity for mankind to flourish. Roan also said,
We must all suffer from one of two pains. The pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons. The pain of building a family business is ounces. The pain of relying on the government and finding out the cupboard is bare.
that weighs tons. I've been warning federal employees for a decade now and if your income is tied to the federal government as they continue their largesse and continue to grow, your income will be circumvented through whatever the new digital currency is going to be. That's how you're going to get your government kibble.
They're going to give you your government perks through a centralized, digital, controllable coin that they can turn on and off at their will. That's how they're going to easily control you.
TD (23:05.207)
We are living in Babylon.
TD (23:10.509)
And that is a mystery to most. But I think that's why the New Testament refers to it as Mystery Babylon.
TD (23:21.975)
just like Daniel, Hananiah, Michelle, and Azariah.
They were in Babylon, but they weren't of Babylon.
They refuse the king's meat.
That was their caveat and tour. They knew the price of that luxury was their soul.
TD (23:50.947)
We need fearless fathers to rise up.
Men who will establish a patriarchy of leadership rooted in scripture. Not domination, but responsibility. If you don't lead your home, the state will. If you don't teach your children, the state or the algorithm will.
TD (24:25.967)
Jim Rohn taught the law of association. He said you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.
Look at your children. Who are they spending time with? Are they spending time with TikTok influencers?
Are they spending time with the Babylonian school system? If so, don't be surprised when they start speaking the language of Babylon. The late great Vodi Bakum said, if you send your children to Caesar to be educated, you should not be surprised when they come back as Romans.
TD (25:12.801)
we would see right.
You have to curate their association. You have to be the primary influence. We need to pray like David. We need to reflect. Prayer gives us power, but reflection gives us direction. Rowan said, don't join an easy crowd. You won't grow. Go where the expectations and the demands to perform are high.
TD (25:49.091)
That's the call to the father.
to set high expectations, to demand excellence. Daniel wasn't average. He was excellent.
TD (26:07.065)
So, here's my challenge to you today.
TD (26:14.767)
Jim Rohn said, walk away from the 97%. Don't use their vocabulary. Don't use their excuses. Don't drift where they drift. The 97 % are eating and drinking the fake milk. The 97 % are trusting the fiat currency. The 97 % are sending their kids to Caesar.
education and expecting them to come back.
Romans. I mean Christians. Doesn't work that way.
TD (26:59.299)
Look at your life. Ask Kibono. Who is benefiting from my habits? Is it my family? Or is it the system?
Apply a caveat emptor. Be skeptical of the narratives.
TD (27:23.949)
Remember this.
Skepticism is good, but cynicism is deadly.
and then build.
Plant a Start a business. Hug your wife. Raise your kids.
If you want to get started with something tangible, go over to thetexasboys.com. The Food Forest in a Box is available. Get some cuttings. Put something in the ground. Touch dirt.
TD (28:09.452)
Roan said, your life does not get better by chance.
It gets better by change.
Be the change. Be the resistance. Observe the masses and do the opposite.
TD (28:34.871)
I love y'all. I hope this gets you thinking.
TD (28:42.701)
