welcome Divergent historians the air is
thick with Secrets Whispers of the past
that have been hidden for centuries as I
move through these hallowed Halls of
History I can feel it stories that have
been kept in the shadows waiting for the
light and today I'm here to bring them
to you I'm Ralph and welcome to
Divergent history but this this is no
ordinary history lesson no today we're
pulling back the curtain on the hidden
overlooked and downright shocking truths
about women's history the stories you've
heard they've only scratched the surface
what if I told you that behind every
King there was a queen who truly held
the Reigns of power what if I told you
that the greatest inventions didn't come
from where you thought these are the
stories that could reshape how we see
all of history from Queens who secretly
ruled Empires to inventors who changed
the world from the Shadows this is going
to be one wild ride but here's the catch
if you don't stick around until the very
end you'll miss the most jaw-dropping
story of them all a truth so powerful it
might just change everything are you
ready let's step back in into the past
and uncover the history you've never
been
told first up let's talk about women who
shaped entire Empires without ever
getting the credit sure you've heard of
Cleopatra and Elizabeth the
first but what about hasetsu of Egypt
she was one of the most successful
pharaohs yet many of her achievements
were deliberately erased by those who
came after her jealous much
herin saw Egypt's economy boom and its
borders
expand but how many of us learned that
in school exactly not many next we have
atasa who was no passive Queen she
played a crucial role in shaping Persian
diplomacy using her influence to
solidify the Empire's control across
vast territories the woman had moves
worthy of any chess Grandmaster and now
one of my favorite what about Viking
women archaeological evidence suggests
they didn't just sit around weaving no
they may have led raids and managed
large Farms while the men were off
pillaging so forget the shield Maiden
myth these women were real life Power
Players now let's switch gears to
technology everyone knows about Edison
and Tesla but what about aah love lace
the first computer programmer not only
did she work on Charles babbage's early
Computing machine but she also had the
foresight to predict that machines could
go beyond simple calculation talk about
Visionary then there's Hy Lamar the
1940s Hollywood actress who co-invented
frequency hopping technology during
World War II which is the basis for
modern-day Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wow so
the next time your Netflix Works without
buffering let's thank he
bonus round did you know the first
Monopoly game was invented by a woman
named Elizabeth Magi she designed the
game as a protest against monopolies and
corporate greed but her role in history
was largely erased when Parker Brothers
commercialized it incredible isn't
it next we dive into
revolutions where women didn't just
watch from the sidelines they led the
charge everyone knows about George
Washington but what about CYO lington
she was only 16 years old when she rode
twice the distance of Paul River to
alert American troops of a British
Invasion how is she not a household name
now let's move across the pond during
the French Revolution olymp thees penned
the Declaration of the rights of women
and the female Citizen and fought for
gender equality her reward you might ask
the guillotine during the reign of
terror H not exactly the ending she
deserved Now we move down south down in
Colombia where polycarpa salvara was a
revolutionary Spy Who gathered
intelligence for Rebel forces against
the Spanish Crown she's one of
Colombia's National heroins though her
sacrifice isn't as well known as her
male
counterparts now let's move over into
science we've all heard of rosalin
Franklin right what no you haven't heard
of her well she's a scientist whose
x-ray images were crucial to discovering
the double helix structure of DNA but
guess what her male colleagues took most
of the credit and she was largely
overlooked in the Nobel Prize Awards and
who do you think figured out that
nuclear fion could be used to create
Atomic power any guesses that's right a
woman named lice miter
another genius who was pushed into the
Shadows while her male partner received
all the accolades and let's not forget
Margaret Hamilton who helped code the
software that landed Apollo 11 on the
moon without her Neil Armstrong might
not have made his one small step comment
so where is her giant
statue all right here's a bonus section
for you women who worked as spies and
changed the course oft history let's
talk about Virginia Hall who was an
American spy during World War II she was
so effective that the Nazis considered
her one of the most dangerous Allied
agents did I mention she did it all with
a prosthetic leg named cuffer weird fact
but James Bond eat your heart out and
then we have matahari a dancer turn spy
was she a brilliant double agent or just
a
scapegoat history is murky but her
execution by the French has ensured her
place in history's Hall of mysteries
these women didn't just infiltrate Enemy
Lines they rewrote the rules of
Espionage but wait we can't stop there
history is full of women who change the
game and most of them don't even get a
footnote in history take Julie the Aly
for example a 17th century French opera
singer and sword fighter Yes you heard
me right she fought duels with men
joined the Opera and even ran off with a
nun what a life or how about chingi the
most successful pirate in history
R she commanded over 300 ships and
terrorize the Chinese seeds when she
finally retired she broke her a deal
with the Chinese government to keep all
her Loot and live out her days in peace
oh and let's not forget Mary Anning the
paleontologist who discovered some of
the most important dinosaur fossils her
findings helped shape the field of
paleontology but because she was a woman
she didn't receive recognition until
long after her
death then we have en Zinga who was a
17th century Queen of the indongo and
matamba Kingdoms in what is now known as
Angola she's often described as one of
Africa's most formidable rulers and
Zinga fought against Portuguese
colonizers for for decades using
military tactics diplomacy and even
shifting alliances to keep her kingdom
free en Zinga was known for being both a
shrewd Diplomat and a brilliant military
strategist when the Portuguese refused
her a chair during
negotiations Legend has it she made one
of her servants kneel down so she can
sit making her Point loud and clear she
used Guerilla Warfare and formed
alliances with the African kingdoms to
resist European colonization for decades
protecting her people and her
power her story represents the resistant
many African rulers faced as Colonial
Powers attempted to invade in zinga's
determination and strategic mind kept
her kingdom intact for far longer than
many of her male
counterparts next up hatsu hatsu wasn't
just any Queen She she was a pharaoh
which meant she was technically the king
of Egypt ruling from 1478 to 1458 BC she
took on male titles and even wore the
ceremonial false beard to assert her
Authority under her Reign Egypt saw
unprecedented Prosperity she initiated
massive building projects that
solidified Egypt's cultural Legacy
including her famous Mortuary Temple at
De Al Bari but after her death her
stepson thos theii tried to heras her
from history statues were defaced
inscriptions were scratched off and her
name was erased from the official lists
of pharaohs the ancient version of a bad
breakup I
suppose yet despite the efforts to erase
her had Shepu Legacy endured historians
and archaeologists have since
rediscovered her Brilliance and restored
her rightful place as one of Egypt's
greatest rulers
[Music]
now let's look at another one Sophia D
leip Singh who was no ordinary
suffragette she was an Indian princess
and the goddaughter of Queen Victoria
born into royalty she used her platform
to fight for women's rights in Britain
during the early 20th century not
content with living a royal life she
became one of the most vocal members of
the women's social and political union
refusing to pay paid taxes and protests
and even selling suffer jet newspapers
outside Hampton Court Palace her royal
residence now imagine being a princess
and shouting slogans on the street
corner that's commitment Sophia's Royal
status didn't stop her from getting into
the trenches of the fight for women's
rights her courage and standing up to
the British government even while being
part of the establishment show that no
one is too privileged to fight for
justice
next up graany om Ali also known as
Grace om Ali was an Irish pirate Queen
in the 16th century who commanded ships
and fought English rule huh but don't
let the pirate label fool you she was
also a Savvy political leader and
negotiator Grace actually met Queen
Elizabeth the First in person two
powerful women face to face omali
negotiated the release of her captured
family members and cured her land's back
all while refusing to bow to the Queen
the nerve the audacity the Brilliance om
Ali's Story shows that women could wield
both sword and diplomacy commanding
respect in a male dominated world of
politics and piracy and let's be honest
I totally watch that
movie Next Up Wu Zan who was the only
female emperor in the history of China
ruling during the Tang Dynasty from 690
to 705 ad bet you haven't heard of her
her rise to power wasn't easy she
started as a concubine then used her
political wit to climb to the highest
position in the Empire once she secured
her throne woo wasn't just a placeholder
ruler no she initiated major reforms in
agriculture education and government and
expanded China's borders
she promoted meritocracy even changing
the rules of the civil service exams to
ensure fairness yet after her death her
Legacy was tarnished with historians
depicting her as a ruthless usurper W
Zan's Reign was both effective and
controversial she redefined what it
meant to rule an Empire and shattered
the gender Norms of her time but she was
later painted as a villain to restore
the patriarch
her Story shows that women who break the
mold often face backlash long after
their
reign next up Tomo Goen who was a
legendary female samurai warrior in 12th
century Japan Yes you heard me right she
fought in the gene war and is remembered
for her extraordinary bravery and skill
in battle her Legend describes her as a
Warrior capable of facing down entire
armies slicing through enemies with ease
and in case you didn't know female suar
eyes were not a common thing back then
Tomo goin's story is full of action and
mystery some accounts say she continued
to fight after the war While others
suggest she retired and became a nun H
either way her Legacy as a Fierce and
skilled Warrior remains cemented in
Japanese folklore and history Tomo Goen
was the real deal she wasn't just a
symbol of strength she lived it on the
battlefield next let's look at safo safo
was one of the greatest lyric Poets of
ancient Greece living on the Island of
Lesbos she wrote deeply personal and
emotional poetry about love Beauty And
The Human Experience her work was so
powerful that the great Plato called her
the 10th Muse but unfortunately Ely most
of her work has been lost over time
leaving us with only fragments of her
genius Sapp's poetry was revered in
ancient times and her writing provided a
rare glimpse into the emotional life of
women in ancient Greece despite this
much of her work was lost or destroyed
and for centuries her influence was
downplayed or ignored Sapp's Legacy has
endured though as a symbol of love
beauty and the emotional depth that
transcends
time from Pirate Queens to trailblazing
scientists these women didn't just
participate in history they truly shaped
it and the crazy part we've barely
scratched the surface their stories have
been buried for centuries but once you
uncover them you realize just how vital
they were to the world we live in today
but wait what if I told you that some of
the most famous moments in history have
a real dark side what if everything you
thought you knew about certain events is
only part of the story and the real
truth has been hidden in plain sight
stay tuned because in our next video
we're peeling back the layers of History
to reveal the shocking Truths Behind
Some of the most celebrated historical
moments trust me you don't want to miss
