[SPEAKER_08]: that it's a good thing necessarily that this feels like the warm blanket of sanity in my life when I open that microphone and I kind of hear, but my life is kind of frantic right now, and so the idea of being here with all of you, God bless you listeners, God bless you Rob and Josh,

[SPEAKER_04]: Mike, I've worked with you pretty closely for a third of a century now, and you've had a checkered past.

[SPEAKER_04]: You've had good times and bad.

[SPEAKER_04]: You've had fun times and said, and the one consistent in your life for that time has been the show.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I know you've had, you know, times when

[SPEAKER_04]: You've been really borderline out of your mind, but the show can center you.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think the show is maybe one of the healthiest things in all of our lives.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's a major.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think it's mental health.

[SPEAKER_08]: We'll judge.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's always younger than us, and he's got a lot of things going, because that's what you do when you're younger, you do that type of thing, and I wasn't abused for 30 years.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's true.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's true.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's the biggest, the previous, the previous ones.

[SPEAKER_04]: And you, of course, have your God.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that helps a lot.

[SPEAKER_05]: But we thought Mike in the middle.

[SPEAKER_05]: So it's like we're giving him a big hug every morning.

[SPEAKER_08]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_08]: And today it is, it gives me a chance to share.

[SPEAKER_08]: And it gives me a chance to discuss what's going on.

[SPEAKER_08]: I like to refer to this as the saga of an overpriced lemon.

[SPEAKER_08]: uh... in a land long ago far far away yes there was a formally successful district he who's income had diminished significantly but

[SPEAKER_08]: he still hung on to some of the trappings of uh... when he was a high-flying uh... very successful radio personality and he decided that the old lady in titanic mike you're just living on you know you're still simple life but you still have that necklace i still have it i i went off and uh...

[SPEAKER_08]: Back when, you know, things were not, I guess I would describe it as reality, not crashing in on me and hitting me, I still thought that I could purchase certain things of a luxury nature that, you know, would allow me to hang on, were they brand new?

[SPEAKER_08]: No, but were they used?

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, and one of them was a very expensive automobile that my wife had always desired.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I said, I can get this simply by getting it the two years older with 18,000 miles on it.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is amazing if you just wait a year.

[SPEAKER_04]: How much a car devalues?

[SPEAKER_08]: I thought that I was getting the deal of deals.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's person tell you, oh, like a grandmother tried it.

[SPEAKER_05]: Drop it.

[SPEAKER_05]: She only took it to the grocery store.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and church on some note there was none of that there that I think the greatest lie that the this dealership told me That is a lie.

[SPEAKER_08]: That is a lie.

[SPEAKER_08]: The greatest lie the dealership said was Because obviously they had prepared the car for sale.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, that the car had not been smoked in

[SPEAKER_08]: And when you would hop in this car at the beginning, it was obvious, it car smelled great.

[SPEAKER_08]: And by the way, I bought this car when I was 80 pounds heavier, too.

[SPEAKER_08]: So one of the times when my wife was driving, I'm going to sneeze, there's so much stronger.

[SPEAKER_08]: Talk about smoking.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now you're smoking hot.

[SPEAKER_04]: I remember whenever Mike's sneezes, 10th caller gets tickets to see Oreo Speedwagon.

[SPEAKER_08]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_08]: when I hopped in this car on the passenger side and really smashed my butt down on the seat all of a sudden I was like small smoke came up from that that that's smell of the light

[SPEAKER_08]: And by the way, everybody's going to say what Carve talked about it before.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's a, it's a, from the British company, Range Rover, and, you know, back in the day, I've, you know, it was my car of choice for a while.

[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, you let me drive it once.

[SPEAKER_08]: The reliability is, let's just say suspect.

[SPEAKER_08]: Was there ever a time early in the career of the car that it wasn't suspect when you depended it like let's say you know no there was not actually if I think about it I took the car home and I noticed that That when I would break

[SPEAKER_08]: I would get like a little bit of a wobble and I had to take it immediately back and they had to change the rotors on the break and they fixed the brakes.

[SPEAKER_08]: But I should have known at this point that it was going to be a journey.

[SPEAKER_08]: I don't, I have never owned a car.

[SPEAKER_08]: You go ahead, Joe.

[SPEAKER_05]: Has it always been the same problem or do you have all the phone?

[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, it's all new.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's always everything.

[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, this is new again.

[SPEAKER_08]: I have gone through more.

[SPEAKER_08]: repairs with this car than any car and spent more money on repairs than any car I've ever owned.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I think they're two factors here.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think that, you know, sometimes when you buy used, the euphoria of the moment, uh, cloud management, and you don't realize that you're getting something that's crap.

[SPEAKER_08]: and then the second thing is the overall reliability of the brand, which I am here to say my personal experience.

[SPEAKER_08]: If I was filling out one of those forms, there wouldn't be a scale, you know, one being worst, best, happiest, saddest.

[SPEAKER_08]: I would want to go further negative than the lowest possible negative.

[SPEAKER_08]: I would want to go further than the sad face.

[SPEAKER_08]: I would want to be an F word in there, you know.

[SPEAKER_04]: what is that would be what I'm going into it I didn't know that they had a reputation for being finicky or reliable before you bought it did they have sort of a reputation the car like for example that is always you know so highly rated I think they did but I you know

[SPEAKER_08]: I get a call.

[SPEAKER_08]: Mrs. O'Mary is off to get blood work for her routine physical.

[SPEAKER_08]: And she is, I just go about my day.

[SPEAKER_08]: We tape the show.

[SPEAKER_08]: I do a few little errands around the house.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm really just going through what is a normal day.

[SPEAKER_08]: The phone rings, I can't give you a time, it's middle of the day, and the phone rings, and it's Carla on the other end, she goes, I am F, I am F to F to F to F to F. She has called me from the previously mentioned to automobile, and the, oh, she had mentioned briefly

[SPEAKER_08]: uh... first thing in the morning and odd and then she uh... calls as i'm after after she said everything stopped everything shut down in the car and she is stranded on a in a left-hand turn lane on the tamiami trail uh... just south of bonita springs florida and it's horrible so it's shut down while driving

[SPEAKER_05]: while driving normally wouldn't be a battery issue.

[SPEAKER_05]: What's that?

[SPEAKER_05]: That wouldn't be because of the low battery.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, when our car seized, it was because no one changed the oil for 10 years.

[SPEAKER_08]: I don't think it's seized.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think it's, but I think it's electric on.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think it'll be a fortune because it always is.

[SPEAKER_08]: And we're trapped in the vehicle because I financed it for too long.

[SPEAKER_08]: And the value is going down.

[SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, if you got that, I felt, I wish I had a camera device where I could turn my head upside down.

[SPEAKER_08]: I know if I found out I could.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, I just got my truck back from the repair shop.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, you did it.

[SPEAKER_05]: You pulled the trigger in the next thing way.

[SPEAKER_08]: I did pull the trigger and yeah, you have to.

[SPEAKER_05]: I did.

[SPEAKER_05]: I did.

[SPEAKER_05]: Because I looked at the math and already under it.

[SPEAKER_08]: So it's such a drag.

[SPEAKER_08]: And then the only ray of sunshine and I totaled a car a long time ago.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I'm going to give them a plug again because they don't advertise, but I wish they would.

[SPEAKER_08]: I am very pleased and very happy with the state farm insurance company.

[SPEAKER_08]: I am telling you they've been good to me and they've been hopefully good to you if you have them And they were so courteous to me when they canceled my policy very friendly They were very nice and telling me they will not ensure my home.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, at least they like you know upfront, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, if you flip up apparently if you flip your car you're what they call a disc Right

[SPEAKER_04]: And they don't want you on her their payment.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, we just, we've parted his friends.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: And my wife, she was, I reported stolen goods that the mover stole when they moved me to Florida.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, no, they were touched me.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: Because insurance doesn't like it if you actually use them.

[SPEAKER_08]: No.

[SPEAKER_08]: Well, in my case, what was stolen, sorry, got it replaced.

[SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, I'm happy with them.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, what was stolen in your move?

[SPEAKER_05]: A couple of video game systems and a drone.

[SPEAKER_08]: a big camera like a weapon for a drone a drone that carries warheads.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yep, it was a really luxury weaponized drone.

[SPEAKER_08]: So it's my boss.

[SPEAKER_08]: the good news that I didn't even know back the last time I had a problem with the tire was that uh... our insurance company we have telling coverage we have telling coverage on our vehicle which is a great thing began so smart because if you have to tell once it pays for itself it does for like two years it does really happy uh... with that and uh... and so i said to carla i'll be right there

[SPEAKER_08]: I shoot up the right, and by the way, she says, I'm across the, uh, I'm right across from the sushi place.

[SPEAKER_08]: And she says sushi, what did you send with sushi to?

[SPEAKER_08]: All I heard was a Thai sushi.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm across from the Thai sushi place.

[SPEAKER_08]: Now we have, you know, in this part of Florida, you can't go 10 feet without hitting a Thai sushi joint.

[SPEAKER_08]: So there are a lot of them down there.

[SPEAKER_04]: She might have said, uh, I'm near the nail salon in the strip mall.

[SPEAKER_08]: She was very, if you're not used to her, do you not use the own tracker?

[SPEAKER_08]: I didn't use the phone tracker, but I am, you know, my goal is speed to the rescue as soon as possible.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I heard Thai sushi place.

[SPEAKER_08]: And we have one literally right across the street.

[SPEAKER_08]: And that's where I thought she was.

[SPEAKER_08]: And then I realized after she said it to me, I said sushi tied to.

[SPEAKER_08]: which is why I've been a bonita and at this point I don't know why she left the house.

[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know where she went.

[SPEAKER_08]: I didn't know she was getting blood work.

[SPEAKER_08]: I didn't know.

[SPEAKER_08]: I didn't know I didn't know but I I get her on the phone and apparently she's got two other conversations going with the repair shop and the towing company at the same time and the insurance company and she doesn't answer the phone and I'm in the car in front of the the wrong

[SPEAKER_04]: Question on this Tammy and me trail.

[SPEAKER_04]: We've talked about it before.

[SPEAKER_08]: It means I and Miami rock.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: It connects them.

[SPEAKER_04]: No.

[SPEAKER_04]: Very good.

[SPEAKER_04]: Are there mile markers?

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but I mean, okay, but it was not the if I didn't listen because I was into rescue mode and so it was my mistake, but as soon as I Reborn the phone she says no Markers are not helpful.

[SPEAKER_05]: I yeah, they're not no no one pays attention to it You always break down in between two markers.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know clue amen I agree carry broke down very close to one so approved helpful, but then she also sent me a pin

[SPEAKER_08]: But to me, myel markers are, you know, you get lucky.

[SPEAKER_08]: You're right on top of one if you don't.

[SPEAKER_08]: But yeah, as soon as I get on the phone, she tells me that I got the wrong joint.

[SPEAKER_08]: I know exactly where she is.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I head up the road.

[SPEAKER_08]: And it's a lot further.

[SPEAKER_08]: And then I see her on the left with the flashes on.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I think the line was, I was surprised you got here so quickly.

[SPEAKER_08]: That was a win.

[SPEAKER_08]: That, that was a win.

[SPEAKER_04]: Josh, your, your mechanical, if it was an electric issue, would the flashers work?

[SPEAKER_04]: No, okay.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, if batteries that the flashers would not work, but it didn't get a low battery indicator.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's a low battery.

[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't think your car would just shut off because I thought once you start the car, the engine would recharge the battery.

[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_04]: The alternator.

[SPEAKER_08]: Here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think that we will find the information out perhaps today about this situation, but there's another wrinkle that I haven't even gotten to.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_08]: I would love to be on the luckiest car in the world.

[SPEAKER_08]: What is the vehicle?

[SPEAKER_08]: And the thing is, I said, can you stay with, do you have to stay with the garages?

[SPEAKER_08]: No, I don't.

[SPEAKER_08]: They'll call the two in company.

[SPEAKER_08]: Leave the key in the console and the two in company will come pick it up.

[SPEAKER_08]: We are off and what's going on at this point?

[SPEAKER_08]: Midday.

[SPEAKER_08]: I forgot if we picked our kit up by together or

[SPEAKER_08]: I took her to work.

[SPEAKER_08]: I took her to work.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's what I did.

[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_08]: Back to her shop.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's what it was and so much going on.

[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, it's the schedule and everything.

[SPEAKER_08]: I thank God for drugs.

[SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, getting back to where I was the the day progresses and I pick my son up and I'm not picking him up until later because he's going to be at the baseball park where he's how that's right out for his school team and in the meantime, I get a phone call from Carla and she said they picked up the car.

[SPEAKER_08]: Then maybe a half hour later I get another car from call from Carla and she says you're not going to believe this.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, God.

[SPEAKER_04]: So they put a certain exact tone when she says you're not going to believe it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like a good or bad almost amused because because you know, you have to give in.

[SPEAKER_08]: You know, when the bathtub in it falls through the floor, yes, in the money pit, the money pit.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's kind of where she calls me and she says you're not going to believe this.

[SPEAKER_08]: I said what she said, I just got a call from the towing company.

[SPEAKER_08]: They got the car to the repair shop.

[SPEAKER_08]: But in the back, I think when they were lowering it, the cable on the tow truck snapped.

[SPEAKER_08]: and the car fell off the tow truck into a ditch.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think that's a win for you.

[SPEAKER_16]: I...

[SPEAKER_08]: It was a win because you know enough damage you know won't be enough damage to and they'll figure out a way to Slate and then we'll also figure out a way to blame you somehow they will they were no they're on the hook They've admitted blame of course it's their fault.

[SPEAKER_08]: They were a total service sent by an insurance company

[SPEAKER_08]: You couldn't, you technically, you know, I hope both Axel's broke.

[SPEAKER_08]: I, I hope something I haven't seen the car.

[SPEAKER_08]: I hope that the, the car caught fire after it landed.

[SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't let me something if I went to the kitchen and blew up like a Hollywood car rolling down.

[SPEAKER_08]: I, you know, I couldn't, I couldn't, I couldn't, I couldn't be that good.

[SPEAKER_05]: Did you just call and tell them I would just have it towed because it was low air tire, they're pressure.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's actually was fine.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's so.

[SPEAKER_08]: Look, I don't know, I just don't know.

[SPEAKER_08]: I just know that that's where this car is at this particular juncture.

[SPEAKER_08]: And it is the car from hell.

[SPEAKER_08]: You know, you're really talking to a dealership or like a guy.

[SPEAKER_08]: No, I haven't been to a dealership with that car for two years.

[SPEAKER_05]: Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, yes, go ahead.

[SPEAKER_05]: I know someone who had a car like this.

[SPEAKER_05]: And they just took it over onto the eastern shore down to the nice farm road, poured over to the side, broke the windows, said it on fire, and then reported it stolen.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_08]: And we're describing insurance fraud.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's right here.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_08]: It was not me.

[SPEAKER_08]: It might you put a margin.

[SPEAKER_08]: I would imagine a decent investigator would probably get to the bottom of that.

[SPEAKER_08]: Really, I think what you think as far as crime is concerned, that that might be a crime that's attempted by usually normally law-abiding citizens.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, I think I wouldn't want to attempt to do that.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's one of the things.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, have you had to be at the end?

[SPEAKER_04]: You've got to be at the end of your rope, though.

[SPEAKER_04]: to break a window and set it around.

[SPEAKER_08]: You know where my rope is?

[SPEAKER_08]: Where is it right?

[SPEAKER_08]: My rope is somewhere just before let it get repode and doing what Josh suggested.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_05]: But now it's just that.

[SPEAKER_08]: When it was being towed, that's right.

[SPEAKER_08]: The bed rope.

[SPEAKER_08]: I wish it was going 70 when they, when they, when they, when the, when the thing snapped, you know, kill four people in the highway.

[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know, and here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_08]: This is when you don't care about a car.

[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if it was at the repair shop by the time the thing step, but I would assume they're lowering it off or getting it off.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, or if it happened on the road close to I, you know why I don't know, because I don't care.

[SPEAKER_04]: I hit almost has to be on the road, Mike, because if it ended up in a ditch, the refiner dealerships and then repair services are not surrounded by ditches.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but there are ditches around this where this is an industrial area.

[SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, there are ditches everywhere, you know, every top and center has a ditch around it because it feels with the water.

[SPEAKER_04]: I forgot, but native springs is the ditch capital of the world.

[SPEAKER_08]: So I don't know, we are now at the waiting game.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's getting appraised as far as what the damage is concerned.

[SPEAKER_08]: The miracle of miracles would be the car, you know, it's too expensive to repair.

[SPEAKER_08]: But at that point, I don't know what the end game is with the insurance at that particular point.

[SPEAKER_08]: But obviously, you know, the car, if it's not total, I have to get it repaired.

[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_08]: I just don't know.

[SPEAKER_08]: And by the way, you know, you know, it's going to get in the way of this whole thing that pesky honesty.

[SPEAKER_08]: Because at this point, yes, we're a pair of companies that's going to have to look at it and cause this.

[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, but I hate it.

[SPEAKER_08]: I really would love to throw it up.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: You have your health.

[SPEAKER_04]: I have your family.

[SPEAKER_08]: This is just, no, that's a funny joke.

[SPEAKER_04]: It really does.

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe this is just the way of getting this car out of your life.

[SPEAKER_08]: If you are researching vehicles.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_08]: research reliability because I mean if you're going to have a vehicle as I am now for long periods of time you want to have a vehicle and these are our notorious for their lack of reliable are they pretty are they fancy are they luxurious in all models they are going way back to the you know 90s they're good the 80s they're good but they're you know as scuba says they're crap hola

[SPEAKER_08]: they are crappella and i knew no further information about it did you not drive one in the war yes i did i you know you know i i know and i you know i think it's time that you tell this story alright in the uh... i was stationed in the uk at the beginning of ww two i remember

[SPEAKER_08]: And I was tasked with, well, the queen visited our base.

[SPEAKER_04]: She was so young then.

[SPEAKER_08]: She was, as a goodwill posture towards, and I was tasked with driving her around on her range.

[SPEAKER_08]: This was Victoria.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, so it's not the younger.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_08]: So Elizabeth, and I was tasked with driving her around in the range rover.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's a silly question, but you're obviously using a soup spoon when you eat.
