[SPEAKER_06]: And then whenever they had a party, they would back out of their driveway and go straight into the ditch and then they'd call my father to tow them out.

[SPEAKER_08]: And he had a serious commitment to booze when you've got, like, when you're by traces.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yeah, at a point, even when I moved down here.

[SPEAKER_08]: I bought a an armor that was in an armor as a bar one of those really nice stand up bars that I still have no touch it anymore I went out for one margarita last night.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and I feel like crap Ola today and I believe that the margarita that I had

[SPEAKER_08]: Last night was something that probably caused a dream to happen that was one of the weirdest and most disturbing I've ever had.

[SPEAKER_08]: It was just weird.

[SPEAKER_06]: I thought you were going to say you thought your margarita was tainted, like someone was after you.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's thanks to you.

[SPEAKER_08]: It just did great, but the over, excuse me, she got a flutter.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to float around that margarita.

[SPEAKER_07]: God, I don't know what's wrong.

[SPEAKER_08]: And this has to be top of mind because I'm talking about it already.

[SPEAKER_06]: You actually brought this up after we did our little prep meeting.

[SPEAKER_06]: It was weird.

[SPEAKER_08]: I don't think it was an L. Cheapo.

[SPEAKER_08]: It was a craft made, you know, where it's not a mix or anything.

[SPEAKER_08]: They use the real lime juice, and then the Tequila had a different flavor property to it.

[SPEAKER_08]: Where?

[SPEAKER_08]: Corn?

[SPEAKER_08]: It had a, it had just a weird, not weird, a nicely different flavor, but I knew I was drinking something different.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's the point I want to try to make, or I try to make, or I want to make.

[SPEAKER_08]: So when you took your first sip and since this was from the local do they offer floaters or was it just didn't have a floater no Okay, so you're first think that that you know, I'm I'm I'm I'm not in need of quitting like you were but I think that I

[SPEAKER_08]: don't nearly enjoy it like I used to.

[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, they're not doing it enough.

[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, that's exactly what it is.

[SPEAKER_03]: Or it's just back off and save the money.

[SPEAKER_08]: But I don't know if it's the money either, but, you know, talking about the bar.

[SPEAKER_08]: There was a time down here when we moved to this house where, yeah, I've got a fully stocked bar in there that's got very little tequila left.

[SPEAKER_08]: So I mean, we've had some, but it's not every week.

[SPEAKER_06]: And Josh, that's like that, that's after he left Manazza's and gave me a literal Santa Claus sack full of booze.

[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, you don't that.

[SPEAKER_06]: I took home that.

[SPEAKER_08]: No, you don't have to travel that.

[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, I would have.

[SPEAKER_08]: This is the guy Rob knows this Josh.

[SPEAKER_08]: This is my history.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm the guy that owned a bar.

[SPEAKER_08]: I like to drink so much that I bought a bar and I bought a bar and don't get me wrong.

[SPEAKER_08]: I really bought the company.

[SPEAKER_08]: I loved it so much I bought the company.

[SPEAKER_08]: I wanted it to be successful.

[SPEAKER_08]: But it was only after the fact that I realized it probably would have been more successful if I didn't have me and my friends drinking it for free every night.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, there was a regular, but you know what, you ran a fun place while it lasts.

[SPEAKER_08]: What I say, what's the first thing you're going to do?

[SPEAKER_08]: What's that?

[SPEAKER_08]: Regular's are great if they pay.

[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, they most of them did.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_08]: But I say to people, how was the barbers?

[SPEAKER_08]: I said, five, we had five years, three of them good.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's the absolute truth.

[SPEAKER_08]: First three years of the experience couldn't be better St. Patrick's Day, 6 a.m. opening the doors on St. Patrick's Day, fantastic getting off the radio at afternoon driving, making my way to the bar with my name on it and taking a shower and then going in for a round two of my evening and just hanging out and then sometimes on the weekends having such a great time.

[SPEAKER_08]: And even on the week nights that the party would spill back to my home after the bar closed.

[SPEAKER_06]: I like having a dark screened in portrait, I should say.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, the the the the the the the sun porch that had been used by the previous owner as a as a stack of lumber as a lumber shed.

[SPEAKER_08]: Really dumb.

[SPEAKER_08]: Now is a beautiful porch.

[SPEAKER_08]: It was a bit once we cleaned it up.

[SPEAKER_08]: It was spectacular.

[SPEAKER_08]: It was great.

[SPEAKER_08]: Great place to hang out.

[SPEAKER_08]: So make you have a state.

[SPEAKER_08]: Did you have your own office at the bar?

[SPEAKER_08]: We had an office, it was not, I would not call it mine.

[SPEAKER_03]: It would be the man who's not one for you to set up and sleep in.

[SPEAKER_06]: Didn't you have a cardboard standup of the St. Pauli girl in that room?

[SPEAKER_08]: When we were moving into the other room, moving pool tables, I went grudgingly.

[SPEAKER_08]: I just don't.

[SPEAKER_08]: You know, that's the fancy lad in me.

[SPEAKER_06]: That's the little, uh, you know, bumper pool.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's old school kind of dirty bar crap that I, you know, I wanted it to be a, uh, I wanted to have a pub food atmosphere with a vibrant nightlife.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's what I have to do.

[SPEAKER_08]: I would call it an invasion.

[SPEAKER_06]: And upscale Irish pub with a vibrant nightlife.

[SPEAKER_06]: I think that's what it was.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, probably overshoot the runway with the upscale a little bit.

[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I mean, that's what you wanted.

[SPEAKER_08]: But that nightlife.

[SPEAKER_08]: the night was that the bar would be on the weekends the first three years the bar would come alive at about 10 30 at night.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's when it would really start popping.

[SPEAKER_06]: Mike you love the night life you love a bookie on the disco round.

[SPEAKER_08]: your voice was always a good tell is to how late of a night you had when you can and in the after got in trouble with the principle on the show when I came to this one year rockville right i i came to rockville and i had had denny hamland the NASCAR driver yes to my house after the bar

[SPEAKER_08]: As one does, as one does, you know, gets a NASCAR drivers to come over and he came to my house and it was, it was a late night and it was a late night where I was so banged up that even the three o'clock start time was questionable and then I was finally called out on it and I backed off from that quite a bit.

[SPEAKER_06]: That was not your worst.

[SPEAKER_06]: I think the worst hangover

[SPEAKER_06]: We see I wasn't with you then and I know that is you're going worst as years go on It seems like I was with you in mornings, but yeah, it wasn't it was we were in New York City And you'd had a big night at what was the name of your place in the hotel?

[SPEAKER_06]: Rizzo's Zeppies

[SPEAKER_06]: Zeppie, Zeppie's it was, and you had a rough rough night and the next day for sort of a show experiment, we all met at a restaurant that only served peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: And you showed up the color of Wonder Bread and choked down like one, one half a sip of a day.

[SPEAKER_08]: It was not and split.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think I looked on my own.

[SPEAKER_06]: you got your eyes were glassy and staring elsewhere.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, it was, it was not fun.

[SPEAKER_08]: So the long and short of this is that I just, and also I think that when you get older, if you maintain that lifestyle, it'll kill you a quick.

[SPEAKER_08]: So you really don't want to, you just don't want to be that.

[SPEAKER_06]: like age 25 or 30 you stop being able to bounce back.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, it's really an issue.

[SPEAKER_08]: It is.

[SPEAKER_08]: So having one, but I certainly didn't think that having one, one, like my parents did like late in life.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's made out.

[SPEAKER_08]: That would affect me, but I can't think of any other outlight.

[SPEAKER_08]: Well, there are two things that happened.

[SPEAKER_08]: I came back from the Mexican joint and it was very nice.

[SPEAKER_08]: We liked it.

[SPEAKER_08]: We'd go again.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's the measure.

[SPEAKER_06]: I thought you just went first.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, we had a drinking dinner and so it was up at 130 and took about 20 minutes to get back to sleep.

[SPEAKER_08]: And then once I went back to sleep, I did that I had this dream.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I think I've had this dream before.

[SPEAKER_08]: And can I ask what cost you the way we have to play this, you know, if we're going to do it here, I'll play that, please, hello.

[SPEAKER_06]: If I may ask, when you woke up at one, was it because of acid reflux, did you have to pee or do you think it is when your body finally filtered out the rest of the alcohol, and you sort of wake up because of that?

[SPEAKER_08]: I woke up because of either the effects of the drink and food that I normally don't eat during the week.

[SPEAKER_08]: I usually clean, believe it or not, so it was a little combo of everything.

[SPEAKER_08]: But when I went back to sleep, obviously, was ever in my system was in my system, because when I, when I got up in the morning, I had, you know, a little reflux because I just don't eat like that.

[SPEAKER_08]: And then I eaten badly because I had

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, you know what?

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm beginning.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's all coming together now.

[SPEAKER_08]: That drink was a killer.

[SPEAKER_08]: If I'd had two of them, I would be, uh, Yippity Yippity.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's, that's how that.

[SPEAKER_08]: And then I hate when you're Yippity Yippity.

[SPEAKER_08]: It would have been, it would have been over the top.

[SPEAKER_08]: There was one particular hole where I put the T in the ground and it was the wrong set of T boxes and they said no up here and he pointed to a door.

[SPEAKER_08]: And they were T boxes in front of a square open wooden door that I had to hit the Wow, this is like like P we's big adventure dream.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and then there was another T box where I didn't have any T's in my pocket.

[SPEAKER_08]: So I was late and I remember the guy up on the T box going

[SPEAKER_06]: I think that is a common of when you get lost in something you're familiar with.

[SPEAKER_06]: Like you're put in something that you're intimately familiar with.

[SPEAKER_06]: I'll house that you grew up in or something like that carry always dreams about houses she grew up in.

[SPEAKER_06]: But the added horror is not knowing your way around.

[SPEAKER_06]: If I can analyze it, I think it is, that's a lack of control dream, isn't it?

[SPEAKER_08]: And it is the way I feel right now with everything going on, uh, you know, with this car.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's, uh, that's kind of where where I am.

[SPEAKER_08]: No, the car had nothing, but I think the car is probably where I feel the most lack of control.

[SPEAKER_08]: right and you know it's interesting for a car that is a valued what it is how the predators got on the horn yesterday as soon as I valued it and put a phone number in there you know how they started saying oh will buy it will buy it will buy it will buy it what you go to the Kelly blue book yeah what's going to the Kelly blue book they they descend and I realized after well I might as well take a look at this mileage and year and see what they get well now I know by the way Josh how much money does your wife make from her blue book

[SPEAKER_08]: the Kelley blue button off, the Kelley blue book.

[SPEAKER_06]: I was pricing cars all over the place.

[SPEAKER_08]: So I got probably 11, 10 or 11 phone calls on the car.

[SPEAKER_08]: You don't want that.

[SPEAKER_08]: No, I mean, it just tells me though, there's interest because whatever the problem is with the car, like if you want to fix the place where she hit the drug store, you know, you type that.

[SPEAKER_06]: The ball not the drug.

[SPEAKER_08]: By the way, that is a minor minor minor minor.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's ugly and it's rare, but it's minor minor minor minor.

[SPEAKER_08]: So the point where at some point I will be going out to see if I can buff it out myself with some.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's a journey and how did the time and how did the dream end?

[SPEAKER_06]: How did the dream end?

[SPEAKER_08]: Uh, it's just kind of went away.

[SPEAKER_08]: I tried it.

[SPEAKER_06]: It was thought twice.

[SPEAKER_08]: Think the, I think the alarm woke me up.

[SPEAKER_06]: It's six a.m.

[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_08]: And this is the meals of also numbing and control where I, I, I wanted to get a line of credit, home equity loan, and I realized that in June, uh, this past summer, we were laid on a payment and that eliminates your, your ability to get a loan until the following June.

[SPEAKER_08]: You may not have money.

[SPEAKER_08]: You will not have loans and I owe I owe more money on that car than it's worth on the trade.

[SPEAKER_03]: So it's just like this really analysis, the green analysis software says that it is because you feel that you're being rushed to make a decision that you're not ready to make.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's so true.

[SPEAKER_08]: And it's just, I don't know, it's just a drag.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's just, I, every, the one thing that's consistent is that, you know, we've had this, it's all related.

[SPEAKER_08]: maintain your savings doing, you know, doing the best you can, you want to take advantage of these rates and you want to eliminate some credit card and you want to get rid of this car.

[SPEAKER_08]: And it's it's just all kind of come home to roost and what I want to do is obviously get the most money I can for this car.

[SPEAKER_08]: Sure.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I think that they fix everything on the car when they get it.

[SPEAKER_08]: And then they, you know, fix it for a certain amount of money and then sell it for a significant amount more money.

[SPEAKER_08]: And that's how they make their money.

[SPEAKER_06]: That's why

[SPEAKER_06]: why they all want it's a dealer.

[SPEAKER_06]: It's a dealer's dream.

[SPEAKER_06]: They just need to get it looking and running okay and then find another room.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: And then it's not their problem anymore.

[SPEAKER_08]: And if you buy it, you're a room because the reliability is not there.

[SPEAKER_08]: And oh, and the other thing out of control is, even though it's not anything that's a big deal,

[SPEAKER_08]: They got a gazillion kids that have gone out for this school team, my kid is trying out for and they've got a lot of 7th and 8th graders and he's a sixth grader and there's probably not a good likelihood that he's going to make the team but they're adding like a JV middle school so that the kids can get practice and play some games.

[SPEAKER_08]: So I think that's very cool that they did that.

[SPEAKER_08]: But we are mentally, but obviously it would be more fun if he made the team for him, but his heads in the right place with that, but it's still for us a lack of control.

[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, not really knowing what the future holds, so there's a lack of it.

[SPEAKER_08]: Can I ask you another question about these problems or nothing compared to the problem some people have?

[SPEAKER_08]: I get that.

[SPEAKER_08]: I understand that.

[SPEAKER_06]: But you know, you're always dealing with your own problems and if they're your problems, they're in the front of your mind.

[SPEAKER_06]: Let me ask you a question about dreams.

[SPEAKER_06]: And thank you for saying that.

[SPEAKER_06]: I'm not trying to diminish it.

[SPEAKER_06]: Are you the kind of person that doesn't always remember your dreams?

[SPEAKER_06]: What is your dream retention rate?

[SPEAKER_06]: Because when I wake up, sometimes I remember them.

[SPEAKER_06]: And there are times that I physically feel myself forgetting them.

[SPEAKER_06]: Like if I have a dream I get up and I'll say let's say I had a weird dream about Josh and Mike and me and and and then it's gone like I know that I remembered it but then it's gone.

[SPEAKER_08]: Let me offer this on this particular subject.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think dreams like many things are used in a Hollywood to such an extent where we are dupped into thinking we really do have these detailed dreams when I don't think we do.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think it's just a bunch of pictures that we kind of cobbled together.

[SPEAKER_08]: Some we remember better than others, you know?

[SPEAKER_06]: I have I've heard from more than one source, but one guy I really respect was a pretty pretty important sleep expert that I engineered a podcast with and he explained dreaming is this and it makes great sense to me.

[SPEAKER_06]: When you go into REM sleep, when your body is in that ultimate deep sleep, but you're just about to wake up normally.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_06]: That a dream happens when the sort of random access memory, the stuff, the operating memories in your brain, start filing memories into storage.

[SPEAKER_06]: Like it goes from, you know, recent memories to long-term memories.

[SPEAKER_06]: And it files.

[SPEAKER_06]: And because your brain works sort of like a computer, it has stuff it recalls and stuff it sort of puts on the back burner.

[SPEAKER_06]: When you have a weird dream, it's because your brain misfires and puts the

[SPEAKER_06]: I also think that if you are in a situation right now where you've got these stressors going on and your body is trying to refile these memories, it's going to have each one is going to be tagged with a certain amount of stress.

[SPEAKER_06]: And I think that probably is what drives people to have the dreams that can be analyzed.

[SPEAKER_06]: But normally it's just your brain shifting data around and that's why dreams can be just really vanilla and joy.

[SPEAKER_03]: You remember your name is Drisha Soroka?

[SPEAKER_03]: I am in the rob camp where I remember it when I first wake up, but if I can't about it in our later, then I've forgotten it.

[SPEAKER_03]: And I know that's why people do the notebooks by the bedside where you're supposed to wake up and write down your dream before you and people have told you I need to send you a yellow pad?

[SPEAKER_06]: No, I don't.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: Josh hates my yellow pet.

[SPEAKER_06]: For example, Paul dreamed the song yesterday.

[SPEAKER_06]: He woke up and wrote it down because he was afraid he'd forget it.

[SPEAKER_06]: And he went around telling people, what is this song?

[SPEAKER_06]: What is this song that I dreamed?

[SPEAKER_06]: And that's a drug dream.

[SPEAKER_03]: No, well, maybe.

[SPEAKER_06]: Well, you know what?

[SPEAKER_06]: It's the most recorded song of all time.

[SPEAKER_06]: So if that's a drug dream, give me them drug.

[SPEAKER_06]: That is a lie.

[SPEAKER_08]: hmm what's wrong with this picture uh and the guy this truck let me tell you what this truck had i look at my rearview mirror and i see it's a duly first of all so it's a big big engine that's a big truck with the double wheels on it and it's got this little trailer with a like a power washing unit on it

[SPEAKER_08]: that was like going that's interesting and then on the side it's got, you know, something something powerwashing and then it had the grill that really almost looks like the face of a like a, I don't know, a predator.

[SPEAKER_08]: And then I have the spikes.

[SPEAKER_08]: uh... that come out that the little sharp spikes that come out of the uh... uh... cap but they were white so it matched the rest of the truck this guy had either a very small penis or had a big old chip on his shoulder oh and yes you think the little power washer on the back paid for that truck

[SPEAKER_06]: I think it's that because I've known people that have owned power-washing businesses in the past.

[SPEAKER_06]: We've worked with one, Mike, but one guy in particular on the eastern shore that I know he had a business called shorewash.

[SPEAKER_06]: Um, S-H-O-R-E. Good pun.

[SPEAKER_06]: And he was maybe the most high-functioning moron I've ever met in my entire life.

[SPEAKER_06]: And it was him and his power washer.

[SPEAKER_06]: And he had a fancy truck too.

[SPEAKER_06]: And when you called him, he never picked up the phone.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm very aware when I talk to call centers that drive me insane right now, most recently being with a roadside assistance program that originated out of Bangladesh and was just absolutely maddening, I mean drove me insane and then I found out at the dealership that this same roadside assistance has they all know it sucks.

[SPEAKER_08]: and it was just unbelievably maddening.

[SPEAKER_08]: But I'm very, very, very much aware of what culture when it comes to even being on the phone with, because they always say this conversation may be recorded.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think that's the main reason they do that is so that they prevent somebody from doing something abusive or faking them out or something like that.

[SPEAKER_06]: I always love replying with, oh, that's cool.

[SPEAKER_06]: I'm recording it, too.

[SPEAKER_08]: I can't get that, but, you know, I've always, this is a fantasy, I've always had, this is so stupid.

[SPEAKER_08]: They looked at 35 different chains, and actually had people go pull prices directly off the shelves, they used what you'd pay if you had loyalty card with discounts.

[SPEAKER_08]: They found that the cheapest place in America to get groceries, Rob.

[SPEAKER_08]: It is Costco, make sense, I think it does make sense for all the stores to how much you pay at Walmart, the largest grocery chain in the US.

[SPEAKER_08]: You'll pay an average of 21.4% less at Costco than its BJ's wholesale.

[SPEAKER_06]: what they're not taking into account though is I mean they're obviously going by unit pricing and you know if you can buy five bottles of ketchup as opposed to one bottle of ketchup it's going to be cheaper right-em-wise so i would say that almost bj's and casco i don't think they belong in this list because it's a different business plan and i'm very disappointed that sam's club is not in that list
