<v Speaker 1>Welcome back, you horny little rats.
<v Speaker 2>It's time to smut up and listen.
<v Speaker 3>Just a reminder for today's episode and all future episodes,
<v Speaker 3>our opinions are subjective. We don't advocate for kink shaming
<v Speaker 3>or author shaming. This is all in good smutty fun.
<v Speaker 3>Enjoy and don't forget. To check out patreon dot com
<v Speaker 3>slash smut up and listen to listen to the r
<v Speaker 3>slash smut podcast, where Riley and I will be doing
<v Speaker 3>blind reactions every Tuesday to Reddit eratica, Hey guys, Hey.
<v Speaker 4>Hey, we're back. What's up? Guys?
<v Speaker 3>Happy twenty twenty six. We're recording this all the way
<v Speaker 3>in twenty twenty five, so tell us how it's going
<v Speaker 3>over there.
<v Speaker 5>Yea, I hope November and December are okay. The governments
<v Speaker 5>still shut down?
<v Speaker 6>So dat does today's episode trigger warnings? Our explicit sexual content,
<v Speaker 6>murder and human sacrifice?
<v Speaker 5>And I have a Spotify comment and this comes from
<v Speaker 5>Ali and it says, no, I still have all of
<v Speaker 5>November and December to deal with. But okay, enjoy any
<v Speaker 5>holiday you guys celebrate. I'll see you January. Smutty little rats,
<v Speaker 5>cute Nuary.
<v Speaker 4>Thanks, it's January.
<v Speaker 3>Right now, we're starting the season off with something super
<v Speaker 3>super cool. And if you're here then you already know.
<v Speaker 3>We actually tomorrow are doing an interview with JT. Geisinger.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my god, insane.
<v Speaker 6>I know, our first author interview and our first arc.
<v Speaker 3>I know, an arc of the book we're going to
<v Speaker 3>cover today. We're not releasing it until January, but tomorrow
<v Speaker 3>we're recording with her to discuss the book. And that's
<v Speaker 3>very cool. So thank you, JT. Geisinger.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, thank you, Yeah, so cool.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So this week we're telling Riley all about Blackthorn by Gt.
<v Speaker 3>Guysinger and how many stars did you guys give it
<v Speaker 3>on Good Reade five. I gave it a four and
<v Speaker 3>a half. I really liked it.
<v Speaker 2>Ooh, Charlotte boo.
<v Speaker 4>That's like a super good rating.
<v Speaker 3>Then, so we meet our female main character, Maven, and
<v Speaker 3>she is returning to her spooky hometown of Solstice, Vermont
<v Speaker 3>for the first time in twelve years since her mom died,
<v Speaker 3>and that's because her granny just passed away and she's
<v Speaker 3>going to the funeral.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, I be Granny.
<v Speaker 3>She's with her daughter Beatrix, who's freaking out because this
<v Speaker 3>town is creepy as fuck and super old tiny, and
<v Speaker 3>she's used to living in Manhattan. She's never lived anywhere
<v Speaker 3>like this before, so she's like, what the fuck is
<v Speaker 3>this place? I just imagine the town from like like
<v Speaker 3>hocus Pocus or Halloween Town or something.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yeah, and like coming from a city, I feel
<v Speaker 2>like it's a shock. It's a shock.
<v Speaker 3>But what I wouldn't give to live in a town
<v Speaker 3>like that?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I mean you say that, but once you get there,
<v Speaker 5>I'd be fine.
<v Speaker 2>Give me the suburbs, I'll thrive.
<v Speaker 3>They're picked up from the train station by the Blackthorns
<v Speaker 3>caretaker Quentin, and Beatrix is immediately like, this dude looks
<v Speaker 3>like a zombie. He's very much described as looking like
<v Speaker 3>Frankenstein's monster. He's just huge.
<v Speaker 4>He's like a brick.
<v Speaker 2>So there's monsters.
<v Speaker 6>He's not a monster though, he's a human.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, oh, he just don't look right. There's someone
<v Speaker 3>about him. Maven assures her he's very much not a zombie,
<v Speaker 3>but thinks to herself she can totally get why Beatrix
<v Speaker 3>would think. So he is very zombie like, and he
<v Speaker 3>also does not speak at all.
<v Speaker 2>He's mute.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, he's never spoken.
<v Speaker 3>What Mavin has known him since childhood and she can
<v Speaker 3>read him really well, so it's almost like he doesn't
<v Speaker 3>need to talk because they can kind of communicate. So
<v Speaker 3>he's been the caretaker for like forever for the Blackthorns.
<v Speaker 3>When they get to the Blackthorn, Manor Beatrix is stunned
<v Speaker 3>at the haunted looking gothic mansion. They're greeted by Mavin's
<v Speaker 3>aunt Esme and Divina, and they very much gave me
<v Speaker 3>Hilda and Zelda vibes.
<v Speaker 5>Oh.
<v Speaker 3>We get some weird conversation between Mavon and her aunts
<v Speaker 3>that suggests they don't ever marry, and they kind of
<v Speaker 3>stick together as Blackthorns, so like they're like, men are trash.
<v Speaker 3>They're good for one thing, relationships boo women good.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree.
<v Speaker 3>They basically only need men for one thing, which is sex.
<v Speaker 3>After dinner, Mavin is chilling with her aunts drinking some
<v Speaker 3>wine when she sees a dark figure standing outside the
<v Speaker 3>front gate, and she can tell immediately that it is
<v Speaker 3>Ronan Croft. She thinks to herself that you never forget
<v Speaker 3>your first love or your worst nightmare.
<v Speaker 2>What could that mean?
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, and then the darkness swallows him and
<v Speaker 3>he's gone, like he.
<v Speaker 2>Just walks away, or it's like.
<v Speaker 6>It's like the Melmer Simpson like me where he's going.
<v Speaker 2>In the bush.
<v Speaker 3>The next day, the Blackthorn Girls are headed to the
<v Speaker 3>funeral home to see Granny one last time. As Mavin
<v Speaker 3>looks down at her dead grandma, she thinks, if there's
<v Speaker 3>an afterlife, Lurinda is definitely kicking ass there because she
<v Speaker 3>looks just as fierce as she did when she was alive.
<v Speaker 3>She finds a long black feather tucked between her arm
<v Speaker 3>and the casket and pulls it out, inspecting it. Then
<v Speaker 3>Divina instructs Beatrix to put a pearl handled pocket knife
<v Speaker 3>into the casket for Granny to take with her wherever
<v Speaker 3>she is. She also gives her a pouch of coins
<v Speaker 3>to pay the ferrymen at the river sticks. So they're
<v Speaker 3>very woo woo, very witchy, feel.
<v Speaker 2>Like you have to be if you're there.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Then the actual viewing begins and the room is filled
<v Speaker 3>with the townspeople who were too afraid of Lucinda to
<v Speaker 3>get close to her while she was alive. Then Becca
<v Speaker 3>Maven's old schoolyard nemesis walks in and she doesn't exactly
<v Speaker 3>walk in. She more like limps in with an acne
<v Speaker 3>scarred face and a frumpy figure. Uh Goughly, she spots
<v Speaker 3>Mavin and immediately points to her and she's just like you.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>As Becca rushes toward Mavin to presumably attack her, she
<v Speaker 3>falls and smashes her face to shit on the ground
<v Speaker 3>as aunt Esme smiles, good ugly girl, make your face
<v Speaker 3>more ugly. Becca stands up and Divina whispers something in
<v Speaker 3>her ear, too quiet for Maven to hear, but it
<v Speaker 3>causes Becca to run out of the room, screaming, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it would be like, what'd you say? Her ants are
<v Speaker 3>scariest fuck?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I love them.
<v Speaker 3>Then Maven sees Elijah Croft, Ronan's father. He and Esmey
<v Speaker 3>look at each other with pure hatred in their eyes,
<v Speaker 3>and I guess they have some family beef because generations ago,
<v Speaker 3>Magara Blackthorn was hung for witchcraft on the order of
<v Speaker 3>Magistrate Levi Croft, and this was like generations and generations
<v Speaker 3>and generations ago, so.
<v Speaker 2>Like they're just always gonna hate each other.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Esme tells Elijah to kick Rocks, but he just demands
<v Speaker 3>that she call off her damn birds because they keep
<v Speaker 3>attacking him like crows ravens ah like everywhere he goes.
<v Speaker 1>He's like, ah, they're like pecking out his eyes, and shit, that's.
<v Speaker 2>Actually terrifying that he's scary. Birds are scary.
<v Speaker 3>Her aunt is like, I don't even know what you're
<v Speaker 3>talking about. And then suddenly a tree outside the window
<v Speaker 3>is filled with ravens staring intently at Maven and she
<v Speaker 3>catches a whiff of sulfur. Elijah wheels his wheelchair out
<v Speaker 3>of the funeral home and the rest of the viewing
<v Speaker 3>goes off with no more craziness. So he's also in
<v Speaker 3>a wheelchair.
<v Speaker 2>Oh so darn it.
<v Speaker 3>On the drive home, they see a bunch of fire
<v Speaker 3>trucks and then a burnt down house and Mabon is like, Auntie,
<v Speaker 3>is that Becca's house? And Davina just smiles and it's like,
<v Speaker 3>I do believe.
<v Speaker 4>It was, Oh my god, evil bitch.
<v Speaker 3>That night, while everyone is fast asleep, Mabon hears a
<v Speaker 3>thump from somewhere in the house, and when she goes
<v Speaker 3>to see what's going on, she sees a quick flash
<v Speaker 3>of light from the crack under the door to Granny's room.
<v Speaker 3>She walks in, but nothing seems out of the ordinary,
<v Speaker 3>aside from a book on the ground that looks like
<v Speaker 3>it fell down from the shelf, and it's Granny's journal.
<v Speaker 3>As she flips through it, I swear she can hear
<v Speaker 3>cold laughters throughout the house, but it's gone just as
<v Speaker 3>quickly as it arrived. She puts the book away and
<v Speaker 3>turns to leave, but sees the door is shut, and
<v Speaker 3>she's pretty sure she left it open. Scary, Yeah, it'd
<v Speaker 3>be shitt And she goes to open the door and
<v Speaker 3>it won't open.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, boot right there.
<v Speaker 3>She kicks it and it finally swings open. She steps
<v Speaker 3>into the hall and out the window on the landing,
<v Speaker 3>she can see a dark figure standing at the gates,
<v Speaker 3>so she books it outside. It's Ronan Croft and he's
<v Speaker 3>looking as hot as ever with his black hair and
<v Speaker 3>his piercing blue eyes, which what a combination, I know.
<v Speaker 3>She asks why he's here, but he just smiles, and
<v Speaker 3>she tells him to get out of here before she
<v Speaker 3>shoots him. And also she hates him, and their banter
<v Speaker 3>is very funny. She fucking hates his guts and he's like, pooky,
<v Speaker 3>come on your girl.
<v Speaker 5>Oh I love that dynamic. Were like the woman hates
<v Speaker 5>the man love.
<v Speaker 3>She fucking hates him. Yeah, he doesn't seem phased and
<v Speaker 3>is pretty amused by the six change. He tells her
<v Speaker 3>she doesn't hate him, and he doesn't hate her either.
<v Speaker 3>She tells him that his father showed up to granny's
<v Speaker 3>viewing today and if he knows what's good for him,
<v Speaker 3>he won't be at the actual funeral, and Ronan is like,
<v Speaker 3>why are you gonna wheel him into traffic? And Mavin's like,
<v Speaker 3>maybe I will, like keep your fucking father away from
<v Speaker 3>my granny's funeral. She tells him that they're done here
<v Speaker 3>and turns to walk away, but he just says are
<v Speaker 3>we as he gazes at her mouth, and then he
<v Speaker 3>walks out into the darkness.
<v Speaker 5>Also if he says all we Like, if you said that,
<v Speaker 5>how could you just walk away?
<v Speaker 3>After that?
<v Speaker 2>You're like, all right, else, fuck and I'll come back here.
<v Speaker 3>They haven't seen each other in twelve years, and Ronan
<v Speaker 3>can't believe what a beautiful woman she turned into. He's
<v Speaker 3>smoking a cigarette and staring into his fireplace thinking about
<v Speaker 3>how they ended all those years ago.
<v Speaker 5>There's a part of me, twisted selfish, that wants to
<v Speaker 5>punish her, force myself into her house, her bed, her body,
<v Speaker 5>make her submit and beg of her forgiveness for leaving
<v Speaker 5>the way she did, that dark part of me under
<v Speaker 5>control and unbuckle my belt instead.
<v Speaker 2>What's he gonna do?
<v Speaker 3>Dork it well? He jerks off thinking about her and
<v Speaker 3>comes into the fire. As he breathes her name comes
<v Speaker 3>to the fire. He's standing in front of his fireplace
<v Speaker 3>like she just yeah, it says it like sizzles when
<v Speaker 3>it lands in the fires.
<v Speaker 2>It's flammable.
<v Speaker 3>He tells himself that he and Maven aren't even close
<v Speaker 3>to done. Mavin wakes up in the morning with a
<v Speaker 3>bloody nose. She goes downstairs to see her aunts cooking
<v Speaker 3>breakfast with Beatrix, and her daughter tells her all about
<v Speaker 3>the cat she just made friends with, and Mavin is like, Luna,
<v Speaker 3>she's alive, And Divina is like, yeah, she's only twenty.
<v Speaker 6>Five, she's fine.
<v Speaker 2>A young cat.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, And Luna waltzes in and she does not look
<v Speaker 3>old at all. She's soft and silky and as spry
<v Speaker 3>as ever.
<v Speaker 2>I was gonna say, have you ever touched an old
<v Speaker 2>ass cat?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Cats that are like over eighteen or just like bags
<v Speaker 3>of bones.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's disgusting.
<v Speaker 5>I'm sorry, my apologies of this offends anyone's fucking grove.
<v Speaker 3>Asme tells the gang about this reoccurring nightmare she's been
<v Speaker 3>having about snakes in the house and she hasn't been
<v Speaker 3>sleeping well. So Divina makes her a nice hot cup
<v Speaker 3>of tea. Then Quentin walks in and presents Mavin with
<v Speaker 3>a butterfly he found, and she's shocked because it's an
<v Speaker 3>exotic species that isn't found around here. But she reaches
<v Speaker 3>out and it crawls onto her hand. And she's also
<v Speaker 3>like an insect scientist an entomologist. Oh, sorry, she's an entomologist.
<v Speaker 6>She studies bugs. I listened to a podcast on entomology.
<v Speaker 2>What podcasts are you listening to? Ologists?
<v Speaker 1>Do you smart?
<v Speaker 2>Little nerdy bitch? Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>And then you host this one. Yeah. After Maven tells
<v Speaker 3>her aunts all about the species, it flaps its wings
<v Speaker 3>and flies out of the door. Then the phone rings
<v Speaker 3>and they get a call from the funeral home and
<v Speaker 3>they have news they lost Granny's body.
<v Speaker 2>Are you kidding me?
<v Speaker 3>She's gone?
<v Speaker 2>How does that even happen?
<v Speaker 3>I don't know. As Maven gets ready to storm over
<v Speaker 3>to the funeral home for answers. The phone rings again.
<v Speaker 3>It's Ronan and he tells her he's the only one
<v Speaker 3>in this town that can help her find Lrinda. He
<v Speaker 3>assures her that although he had nothing to do with it,
<v Speaker 3>he thinks the opportunity to help her is delicious. She
<v Speaker 3>hangs up on him and goes to the funeral home
<v Speaker 3>to find out what the fuck is going on, but
<v Speaker 3>when she gets there, Ronan is already standing outside. He
<v Speaker 3>asks her if she remembers how many times they've been together,
<v Speaker 3>and she says, no, fuck off, and he's like, We've
<v Speaker 3>been together eight times.
<v Speaker 5>This time in the greenhouse on top of the bags
<v Speaker 5>of soil, twice in my bedroom, once in your bedroom,
<v Speaker 5>three times in the backseat of my car, and of
<v Speaker 5>course the first time where we did it standing up
<v Speaker 5>in the alley behind the movie theater after you threw
<v Speaker 5>your soda in my face and called me a soulless,
<v Speaker 5>spoiled rat with the intellect of a garden slug. That
<v Speaker 5>first time in the alley, with his hard cock stretching
<v Speaker 5>and his fingers digging into my bottom, his head bent
<v Speaker 5>to my neck and his bare teeth pressed into my
<v Speaker 5>skin as he fucked me against the wall. I went supernova,
<v Speaker 5>helplessly convulsing around him. I gave myself over to the
<v Speaker 5>kind of pleasure I now know is exceedingly rare. Fuck
<v Speaker 5>him again, girl, I'll do it.
<v Speaker 3>She refuses to admit anything, so she's like, Nope, I
<v Speaker 3>don't remember any of that. Maven storms into the funeral
<v Speaker 3>home but finds it completely empty of any employees. Ronan
<v Speaker 3>is still following her, and she's like, what the fuck
<v Speaker 3>do you want and he says he simply wants to
<v Speaker 3>know if their daughter knows who her real father is.
<v Speaker 2>A bumbu.
<v Speaker 3>She tells him that he didn't respond in a very
<v Speaker 3>fatherly way when she told him she was pregnant all
<v Speaker 3>those years ago, and he was like, I was seventeen,
<v Speaker 3>and she tells him she will not be discussing her
<v Speaker 3>daughter with him, and he's like, our daughter. And now
<v Speaker 3>she's pissed. But then mister Anderson, the funeral director, comes
<v Speaker 3>running in crazy. He confesses, while they haven't found the body,
<v Speaker 3>find her clothing on the ground outside of the window
<v Speaker 3>of the room they did the viewing in. They go
<v Speaker 3>to investigate and see the clothes, but no footprints or anything,
<v Speaker 3>and the clothes are folded neatly on the ground, like
<v Speaker 3>just in a nice little pile.
<v Speaker 2>I'd be like, my Grandma's still alive.
<v Speaker 4>And she's naked.
<v Speaker 1>Where is she?
<v Speaker 3>Also, he tells her that the cameras malfunctioned at the
<v Speaker 3>time of the incident, so there's no footage.
<v Speaker 2>Oh of course.
<v Speaker 3>They investigate the empty casket and Ronan once again asks
<v Speaker 3>about meeting their daughter, and Maven is like, I had
<v Speaker 3>a miscarriage. My daughter is nine. Do the math. You
<v Speaker 3>are not her dad, but he does not believe her. Eventually,
<v Speaker 3>Maven leaves with the threat of a lawsuit if they
<v Speaker 3>don't figure out what the fuck is happening, and she
<v Speaker 3>heads home, but her head is all over the place,
<v Speaker 3>so she decides to go for a walk. She winds
<v Speaker 3>up at a Mexican restaurant and orders a margarita and
<v Speaker 3>some food when lo and behold, Ronan comes in and
<v Speaker 3>sits down with her. He's very persistent.
<v Speaker 2>Would cave so quick?
<v Speaker 3>She tells him to beat it, but he does it
<v Speaker 3>and asks how many she would be if he asked
<v Speaker 3>her for a hate fuck for old time's sake, But
<v Speaker 3>she's like, nope, sorry, I have a fiance.
<v Speaker 1>Back home, she.
<v Speaker 3>Doesn't actually, but she did. She didn't like him that
<v Speaker 3>much and broke things off, but Ronan does not have
<v Speaker 3>to know that. And the man's name was Ezra. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>and he's always like calling her and he's like, hey,
<v Speaker 3>hope we can still be friends, and she's like, stop
<v Speaker 3>calling me Ezra.
<v Speaker 1>Uck.
<v Speaker 3>He's like, okay, so where's your ring then, but she deflects,
<v Speaker 3>and finally the food comes. She slams her margarita, but
<v Speaker 3>decides against a second one because she doesn't trust herself
<v Speaker 3>to be tipsy around Ronan. He reminisces about their past,
<v Speaker 3>which she groans at, and then he tells her he
<v Speaker 3>has a theory. Even though Granny was ninety three, she
<v Speaker 3>was fit as a fiddle and her aunts declined an autopsy,
<v Speaker 3>maybe she was never really dead. Maven thinks this is
<v Speaker 3>ridiculous and tells him the Blackthorn women never get autopsies.
<v Speaker 3>It is against their beliefs. And then he's like, was
<v Speaker 3>she embalmed? And she says no, that also goes against
<v Speaker 3>what we believe, and he's like, okay, so she was
<v Speaker 3>dead for six days at the viewing, and she didn't
<v Speaker 3>look decomposed at all. And now Mavin's like, oh shit.
<v Speaker 3>She pays and rushes out of the restaurant to head
<v Speaker 3>back to her aunts, but as she walks out the
<v Speaker 3>door run and grabs her arm, pulling her back, just
<v Speaker 3>as a chunk of concrete falls from outside the building
<v Speaker 3>above them and lands right where she was standing. So
<v Speaker 3>she almost just got squished to death by concrete.
<v Speaker 2>That'd be my last job.
<v Speaker 3>He tries to make it an intimate moment, but she
<v Speaker 3>reminds him what a shitbag he was to her when
<v Speaker 3>they were kids and shuts him down, and then she
<v Speaker 3>runs home. As soon as she gets inside, she calls
<v Speaker 3>the funeral home and asks how Granny was so fresh
<v Speaker 3>if she wasn't embalmed, and he's like, well, we kept
<v Speaker 3>her in the fridge, And now Mavin is like, okay,
<v Speaker 3>well that makes sense. Sure they kept her cold.
<v Speaker 2>Ask more questions, though.
<v Speaker 3>Mavin fights Beatrix, who tells her about a fox that's
<v Speaker 3>been sitting outside the window, and when Maven sees what
<v Speaker 3>she's talking about, it's almost like the fox smiles at
<v Speaker 3>her and she realizes it's sitting in the same spot
<v Speaker 3>Granny always did. Then it turns and runs into the forest.
<v Speaker 3>Beatrix tells her mom. She's sleepy and wants to take
<v Speaker 3>a nap, and Mavin's like, she're sweetie and pulls out
<v Speaker 3>her contact solution and she removes Beatrix's green contacts, revealing
<v Speaker 3>her piercing eyes, blue eyes.
<v Speaker 5>And what does she tell her daughter, like why she
<v Speaker 5>needs to wear these green contacts?
<v Speaker 2>What does she say to her?
<v Speaker 3>So, I guess her eyes are so blue that she
<v Speaker 3>was getting made fun of because they're almost white. And
<v Speaker 3>so Beatrix was the one that was like, can I
<v Speaker 3>please wear green contact so people stop making fun of me?
<v Speaker 2>Oh, she's like a little white walker.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. The next morning, Maven wakes up from a nightmare
<v Speaker 3>about being burned at the stake and wakes up with
<v Speaker 3>another nosebleed. She heads downstairs, where her aunts tell her
<v Speaker 3>that the funeral home was shut down. She knows Ronan
<v Speaker 3>went to the board of funeral directors and reported them.
<v Speaker 3>So also, the Crofts are super powerful and rich in
<v Speaker 3>this town. They like basically own the town. Beatrix comes
<v Speaker 3>in and starts asking about the women in the family
<v Speaker 3>and how they all died, And we learned that Granny
<v Speaker 3>snapped her neck falling down the stairs, and both of
<v Speaker 3>her sisters died in freak accidents, so did Mabon's mother,
<v Speaker 3>and when her mother's body was found, there were wheelchair
<v Speaker 3>prints in the dirt, and so everyone in town is
<v Speaker 3>suspicious that Elijah Croft had something to do with it,
<v Speaker 3>because remember he's in a wheelchair. That' Scott Mayven thinking
<v Speaker 3>about the concrete incident and maybe there's something going on
<v Speaker 3>with the women and how they die. She decides she
<v Speaker 3>needs to talk to Ronan, so she heads over to
<v Speaker 3>his house. It's a modern monstrosity and it's very much
<v Speaker 3>described as like Kim and Kanye's house. Oh God, And
<v Speaker 3>as soon as he opens the door, he's like, come in,
<v Speaker 3>come in my house. And at this point it almost
<v Speaker 3>seems like Maven may be warming up to him a
<v Speaker 3>little bit.
<v Speaker 5>Westare at each other as I will my blood pressure
<v Speaker 5>to stay within safe limits and my vagina to behave.
<v Speaker 5>If she gets any more excited, I'll have to change
<v Speaker 5>my underwear.
<v Speaker 2>Oh she's gushing. Yeah, she's hello soaked.
<v Speaker 3>He tells her he just wants to be friends, but
<v Speaker 3>she keeps saying fuck no, and she threatens to kill
<v Speaker 3>him in his sleep, but he just laughs and is like, wow,
<v Speaker 3>that sounds serious and She's like, yeah, it is, and
<v Speaker 3>then he says, you know what else is serious? And
<v Speaker 3>then he grabs her face and kiss her.
<v Speaker 4>Oh yeah.
<v Speaker 6>Maven melts into the kiss and Ronan deepens it until
<v Speaker 6>she's trembling, and then he pulls away. She immediately walks
<v Speaker 6>out the door and finds herself in town at the courthouse.
<v Speaker 6>She pulls herself together and asks the clerk for the
<v Speaker 6>death records, where he points her where to go. She
<v Speaker 6>gets onto the computer and begins her search of her family.
<v Speaker 6>She goes all the way back through her family tree,
<v Speaker 6>and every single Blackthorn woman has died a tragic accident
<v Speaker 6>except the original Blackthorn. She was executed and hung as
<v Speaker 6>being a witch. But there's one other thing she notices.
<v Speaker 6>There's only a family lineage of women. No man sick.
<v Speaker 4>What a family. Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>As she's getting ready to leave, her phone rings it's
<v Speaker 6>Ronan and he tells her to come back to his
<v Speaker 6>house and finish what they started. They get into their
<v Speaker 6>usual bickering, and again he tells her to come back now.
<v Speaker 5>Baby, you haven't been fucked right in the years, and
<v Speaker 5>we both know it. Now, stopping stubborn and get your
<v Speaker 5>ass back over here. We've got a lot of unfinished
<v Speaker 5>business to soar through. Yes, sir, I'll do it. I'll
<v Speaker 5>do it right away.
<v Speaker 6>He hangs up after that, and on her way home,
<v Speaker 6>she stops at the graveyard to see her mom's gravestone
<v Speaker 6>when she notices a fox, which she's pretty sure is
<v Speaker 6>the same one from previously with its knowing eyes, right
<v Speaker 6>by her grandma's open plot. Because remember, Granny's body is missing,
<v Speaker 6>so it's just a hole in the ground.
<v Speaker 2>I'd say, Grandma, are you that fox?
<v Speaker 6>As she watches the fox, she has a feeling that
<v Speaker 6>she's not alone, but when she looks around, no one's there,
<v Speaker 6>and then the fox is gone. The next couple nights,
<v Speaker 6>Runnin is standing outside of the gates of the house
<v Speaker 6>and he just stands there and smokes. He doesn't do
<v Speaker 6>anything else.
<v Speaker 3>I damn, he says, I don't want any cigarette butts
<v Speaker 3>by my fancy house, so I like to squish them
<v Speaker 3>all out here.
<v Speaker 6>On the third night, she goes out to meet him
<v Speaker 6>and tries to tell him yet again to fuck off
<v Speaker 6>and go die somewhere, but he says that he wants
<v Speaker 6>what's his and then pulls her through the bars and
<v Speaker 6>kisses her through the bars, which they got to be
<v Speaker 6>pretty wide bars. If someone's smooching through him, he just.
<v Speaker 2>Like slams her face against it.
<v Speaker 1>She's like ah.
<v Speaker 6>She breaks the kiss, and he begs her not to
<v Speaker 6>run away, but she goes back inside. Once she's in bed,
<v Speaker 6>she notices the house is very silent, and then the
<v Speaker 6>whispering begins. Her fear quickly turns to irritation, and she
<v Speaker 6>soon opens her bedroom door, but it stops, and then
<v Speaker 6>she feels her nose start gushing blood. She gets a
<v Speaker 6>handle on that and then decides that she needs to
<v Speaker 6>get out of the house. She gets dressed and starts walking,
<v Speaker 6>and somehow she's at Ronan's.
<v Speaker 3>Oh how did I get here?
<v Speaker 2>Dang it?
<v Speaker 6>He answers the door in nothing but a towel, and
<v Speaker 6>she asks him if he met his apology earlier about
<v Speaker 6>the way that he used to treat her as kids,
<v Speaker 6>and he says yes.
<v Speaker 2>Also, i'd like to say they were kids.
<v Speaker 5>I did some fucked up shit when I was younger
<v Speaker 5>that I would never do now.
<v Speaker 2>You know.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, but what he did was pretty fucked up.
<v Speaker 5>Can you just tell me no, it won't ruin anything. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>My sigh is heavy all right. Then he stares at
<v Speaker 5>me in all his half naked glory, a muscle working
<v Speaker 5>in his jaw.
<v Speaker 2>What does that mean? You agree to be friends?
<v Speaker 5>I'd rather be hit by a bus, but I'm up
<v Speaker 5>for a hate fuck if you are.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah.
<v Speaker 6>He asks about her fiance and she says that she
<v Speaker 6>broke it off before she got there, so she lied
<v Speaker 6>previously about that. He pulls her inside, kissing her, but
<v Speaker 6>she stops him, letting him know this is a one
<v Speaker 6>time hate fuck, and then he carries her to bed.
<v Speaker 6>Once on the bed, she takes a moment to appreciate
<v Speaker 6>how hot he is. He has tattoos, broad chests.
<v Speaker 5>With dark hair, and then she sees his dick, thick
<v Speaker 5>and veined. It juts out from between his legs as
<v Speaker 5>if it's proud of itself, which it should be. If
<v Speaker 5>there were a best in show for penises, his would win.
<v Speaker 6>He climbs over her. They kiss, and then he starts
<v Speaker 6>to bite her nipples, her shirt hard. He remembers her
<v Speaker 6>loving it, and she still does. He removes her pants
<v Speaker 6>and then he starts eating her out. He stops to
<v Speaker 6>admit that he's dreamt of this for years, though, because
<v Speaker 6>he's never done it, and all the times they hooked
<v Speaker 6>up as teenagers.
<v Speaker 3>Teenage boys don't give a fuck about the female satisfaction.
<v Speaker 2>No, no, they do not.
<v Speaker 6>She has her first orgasm and has a lot of
<v Speaker 6>feelings towards them that she's kept buried, and they're starting
<v Speaker 6>to resurface. So now she's kind of in her head
<v Speaker 6>a little bit about that. But he finishes undressing her
<v Speaker 6>and turns her over, settling his way over her before
<v Speaker 6>thrusting inside. He quickly switches positions to her on top.
<v Speaker 6>He tells her to take her braid out. She has
<v Speaker 6>crazy red hair, but dyes it box thy black and
<v Speaker 6>then only braids it. She doesn't do anything else with it,
<v Speaker 6>and he's like, take that ugly ass braid out.
<v Speaker 2>Let your long hair flow.
<v Speaker 1>Girl.
<v Speaker 5>Also box dyeing your beautiful red hair black, it's a crime.
<v Speaker 3>It's because all of the Blackthorn women have like very
<v Speaker 3>stinct red hair.
<v Speaker 2>She didn't want it when she moved away. That's fair,
<v Speaker 2>that's fair. Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>He tells her how beautiful she is as she grinds
<v Speaker 6>against him, and then she comes again. He flips her
<v Speaker 6>to her stomach now and then pounds into her until
<v Speaker 6>he finishes As they lay there, she reminds him it's
<v Speaker 6>a one time thing. It's not gonna happen again, and
<v Speaker 6>he says, yeah, yeah, yeah, but can you just stay
<v Speaker 6>the night like we have this night?
<v Speaker 2>Just don't ruin it.
<v Speaker 6>It's Friday and there's still no word on finding Granny's
<v Speaker 6>missing body. She makes work and school arrangements for her
<v Speaker 6>and Beatrix to let them be in town one more week.
<v Speaker 6>She takes Beatrix to town to get her hair dye
<v Speaker 6>and produce for the anties. They're vegetarian too. Yeah. As
<v Speaker 6>they shop, she spots Ronan and tries to hurry and pay,
<v Speaker 6>but it's too late. He sees them, and the first
<v Speaker 6>thing Beatrix says to him is do I know you?
<v Speaker 2>Are you my dad?
<v Speaker 3>He's like, I had to get some milk and cigarettes,
<v Speaker 3>but I'm back.
<v Speaker 6>Maven wants to die, but he says no, but he
<v Speaker 6>knows her mom. He stares at Beatrix and tells Mavin
<v Speaker 6>she's to unblock his phone number or the whole store
<v Speaker 6>is gonna know who this kid belongs to. She does
<v Speaker 6>as he says, but she's obviously pissed. She gets Beatrix
<v Speaker 6>back to Quentin tells him to take her home and
<v Speaker 6>then her phone rings. Ronan wants her back in the
<v Speaker 6>store to discuss this now. She does as he says,
<v Speaker 6>and he pulls her to the employee lounge, laying into
<v Speaker 6>her about leaving the other night. Then he drops the bomb.
<v Speaker 6>He called Beatrix's supposed father because she told Ronan she's nine.
<v Speaker 6>The math doesn't add up, and her dad is a
<v Speaker 6>doctor in California, doctor Latmin whatever. He tells Mavin that
<v Speaker 6>he called doctor Latman and doctor Latman has no idea
<v Speaker 6>who the fuck Beatrix is and he doesn't have a kid.
<v Speaker 2>Oh girl.
<v Speaker 6>She is full on panicking now, and he tells her
<v Speaker 6>that he knows Beatrix is his and he wants her
<v Speaker 6>in his life. She tells him that she was seventeen
<v Speaker 6>she was in love with him, and he abandoned her
<v Speaker 6>when she got pregnant, and he says, what did you
<v Speaker 6>just say you were in love with me? Because she
<v Speaker 6>never said that.
<v Speaker 2>Once ah ooe.
<v Speaker 6>Then he kisses her. It's getting frisky fast. There's fingering
<v Speaker 6>and grinding and then he's shoving into her. The sex
<v Speaker 6>is fast and frantic, and when they're finished, he tells
<v Speaker 6>her to let him into Beatrix's life or she's going
<v Speaker 6>to court, and then he leaves.
<v Speaker 2>All right, I mean it's his kid.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, but like he hasn't done anything.
<v Speaker 2>He didn't know.
<v Speaker 3>He did know kind of, so he didn't know. She
<v Speaker 3>told him that there was a miscarriage or something, but
<v Speaker 3>there wasn't.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, so he didn't know.
<v Speaker 3>But he didn't respond well either. Yeah, he responded in
<v Speaker 3>a way that I would have been like, Oh, I
<v Speaker 3>feel like I need to fake a miscarriage.
<v Speaker 2>Oh god, Okay.
<v Speaker 6>She rushes home and decides she's going to use outside
<v Speaker 6>help figure out the missing Granny business. She'd have so
<v Speaker 6>much shit going on. She has this man possibly taking
<v Speaker 6>her to court. Grandma's dead body is missing, There's weird
<v Speaker 6>shit going on in the house.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, she's got a lot. I'd be spiraling.
<v Speaker 6>He pulls up a number for a private investigator, mister Walker.
<v Speaker 6>She gives him the rundown a to z, what's going
<v Speaker 6>on with granny?
<v Speaker 3>Blah blah blah blah.
<v Speaker 6>Can you help me? Can I hire you? She says
<v Speaker 6>where she's located, and he pauses because that is where
<v Speaker 6>Croft Pharmaceuticals is, which is again a huge ass corporation
<v Speaker 6>that obviously Ronan's family is in, but she bates mister
<v Speaker 6>Walker and says, if you're too scared to take the job,
<v Speaker 6>I mean I can find someone else, and he says
<v Speaker 6>I'll be there shortly.
<v Speaker 2>I'll call you typical man.
<v Speaker 4>But before he.
<v Speaker 6>Hangs up, he advises digging up two to three relatives
<v Speaker 6>to do post mortem checks on them to see if
<v Speaker 6>they truly died of an accident.
<v Speaker 3>Imagine how yucky those bodies would be.
<v Speaker 6>I feel like the majority of them wouldn't.
<v Speaker 1>Be too bad.
<v Speaker 2>They're embalmed taw No, they don't believe it.
<v Speaker 1>That.
<v Speaker 6>The only way he can inbolb someone is if you
<v Speaker 6>do an autopsy.
<v Speaker 5>So they're just going down fresh, they go down refrigerated.
<v Speaker 5>They're going down in a refrigerator. If yeah, they're preserved forever.
<v Speaker 3>They all just get buried in a refrigerator generated power.
<v Speaker 6>She dyes her hair, and after her shower, she sees
<v Speaker 6>that the black dye did not take and her hair
<v Speaker 6>is still red, roots and all. She brings the post
<v Speaker 6>mortem accidental death situation to the anties, but they're unimpressed
<v Speaker 6>and unconcerned. She gets the private investigator contacts in her email,
<v Speaker 6>reads them, signs them, and then calls Ronin. She wants
<v Speaker 6>to talk to him about a question if he can
<v Speaker 6>actually be honest with her for once. He says it depends,
<v Speaker 6>but he needs to be honest with her too. He's sick,
<v Speaker 6>and now she's fawn panicking because he admits that it's
<v Speaker 6>a genetic disorder and if Beatrix is his kid, then
<v Speaker 6>she might have something. But he says, admit that she's
<v Speaker 6>actually mine.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe I'll tell you what my genetic.
<v Speaker 6>Disorder is, which is so fucked up.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's manipulative as hell.
<v Speaker 6>Mavin's pissed, hangs up on him, and now she spends
<v Speaker 6>her whole weekend obsessing over every word run and has
<v Speaker 6>ever spoken to her. On Monday, her war sphear happens.
<v Speaker 6>Beatrix acknowledges that the man at the store and the
<v Speaker 6>man in the wheelchair at Granny's funeral have the same
<v Speaker 6>color eyes as she does her real eyes. She asks
<v Speaker 6>Maven if her dad had pale eyes like that, and
<v Speaker 6>Maveon says yes, and then Beatrix asks to stop wearing
<v Speaker 6>her contact. Mister Walker calls and he has news Anderson's
<v Speaker 6>is known for not properly operating, so Granny isn't the
<v Speaker 6>first missing body out of that funeral home.
<v Speaker 2>What would you want with the dead Bonnie.
<v Speaker 6>Organ's fucking skin too?
<v Speaker 2>Of course you'd say these, Okay.
<v Speaker 6>They also have a list of citations for the funeral home,
<v Speaker 6>not only losing bodies previously, but the refrigerators haven't.
<v Speaker 2>Wear in years.
<v Speaker 3>Oh oh, but remember he was like, well, granny was
<v Speaker 3>fresh because she was refrigerated.
<v Speaker 2>What's going on?
<v Speaker 6>Mavin calls ronin immediately, and she mentions to him his
<v Speaker 6>previous offer for money. He assumes that she's talking about
<v Speaker 6>be a trix, but she says that she needs a
<v Speaker 6>small loan. She explains that she wants to exhume a
<v Speaker 6>couple of Blackthorn women to check her theory. She then
<v Speaker 6>goes into her theory based off of what she's researched.
<v Speaker 6>She also says she's pretty sure his family's behind all
<v Speaker 6>of the accidental deaths, So she's like, give me money,
<v Speaker 6>but also I know you fucking did it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, tell him.
<v Speaker 6>He pretty much says, you called to ask for money,
<v Speaker 6>but you're gonna blame me for something that I have
<v Speaker 6>no idea what you're fucking talking about, Okay, and he
<v Speaker 6>hangs up on her. She paces a room and when
<v Speaker 6>she goes to the window. She sees the fox again
<v Speaker 6>in the same spot where Granny used to sit. Then
<v Speaker 6>she sees Beatrix walk up to it pet it as
<v Speaker 6>it falls asleep. Ronan calls his father and asks if
<v Speaker 6>he had something to do with Elsbeth's death, which IS's mom.
<v Speaker 6>His father says that he would have never killed her.
<v Speaker 6>She was different than the other Blackthorn women.
<v Speaker 5>Confused, I frown. His voice sounds tender. Then it hits me,
<v Speaker 5>did he have a thing for Maeven's mother? A nasty
<v Speaker 5>little seed of horse sets down roots inside of my
<v Speaker 5>brain and sprouts. If they had a thing for each
<v Speaker 5>other and they consummated that thing, al Smith could have
<v Speaker 5>become pregnant, which means Maven.
<v Speaker 2>Ooh uh, oh, oh shit.
<v Speaker 6>He tries to ask his father if they slept together,
<v Speaker 6>and when he doesn't answer, he accuses him. He says
<v Speaker 6>that Mavon is his daughter, and his dad says if
<v Speaker 6>he brings us up ever again, he's dead and hangs up.
<v Speaker 2>Wait as I am so, Ronan and Mavon they were
<v Speaker 2>fucking right. Yeah, and they're siblings.
<v Speaker 3>They had a kick together. Ooo, that's why she has
<v Speaker 3>flippers in.
<v Speaker 2>Fast, That's why she's a little white walker.
<v Speaker 6>At midnight, Maven arrives at Ronan's house. He's disheveled. His
<v Speaker 6>house is a wreck. They's broken things everywhere, and she's like, what,
<v Speaker 6>what's going on? He tells her that his friend was
<v Speaker 6>over and found something out about the woman that he's seeing.
<v Speaker 6>She takes some guesses cheating, no, stole money, no, and
<v Speaker 6>then he says that his friend found out him and
<v Speaker 6>his lady are half siblings. Mavin is shocked and says
<v Speaker 6>that if they have kids, they need to get some
<v Speaker 6>genetic testing done, and maybe he shouldn't tell the woman,
<v Speaker 6>but they for sure cannot be together anymore. After the
<v Speaker 6>finish discussing this, he gives her twenty thousand dollars and
<v Speaker 6>kicks her out.
<v Speaker 3>What would you do if you found out your husband
<v Speaker 3>was your half brother?
<v Speaker 5>Okay, listen, I've thought about it before, and we were
<v Speaker 5>together for like eleven years.
<v Speaker 2>I can't leave him.
<v Speaker 4>The damage is done.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, we've already like fucked a million times. What more
<v Speaker 5>could a few more years do? And it's not like
<v Speaker 5>we're having kids, so like, fine, there's no like incestual
<v Speaker 5>children being made.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>She calls the cemetery asking to exhume her mom's body.
<v Speaker 6>A cemetery worker tells her that it's impossible. After the
<v Speaker 6>Anderson scandal, they can't do anything to any plot until
<v Speaker 6>further notice. He lets her know that the authorities have
<v Speaker 6>already begun to dig stuff up to prove all the
<v Speaker 6>mishandling of clients that Anderson's did over the years. The
<v Speaker 6>next day, it's Halloween, Maven agrees to take Beatrix retreating.
<v Speaker 6>As they're waiting in line for one of the haunted houses,
<v Speaker 6>Ronan approaches them. He has a date and it's a
<v Speaker 6>slutty barbie with fake moves.
<v Speaker 3>How do we know she's slutty? She could be a
<v Speaker 3>very nice woman.
<v Speaker 6>That's just what Maven describes her as she steers Beatrix
<v Speaker 6>away hurt, and then they entered the haunted house. They
<v Speaker 6>walk through it, making it to a hall of meares,
<v Speaker 6>and then Mabon sees that she's alone. She calls for
<v Speaker 6>her daughter over and over again and tries to leave
<v Speaker 6>the Hall of mears multiple times, but runs into distorted
<v Speaker 6>images of herself. When she finally finds a way out,
<v Speaker 6>she runs into Ronan, saying that she lost Beatrix in there.
<v Speaker 6>He enters and comes out a couple minutes later with Beatrix.
<v Speaker 6>Mavin thanks him and he leaves. The girls get ice
<v Speaker 6>cream and go home. But later that night, Beatrix wakes
<v Speaker 6>up because the little black eyed boys are staring at
<v Speaker 6>her through the window in the woods.
<v Speaker 2>Nope, no, hell no, I would yell at my child
<v Speaker 2>if they said that.
<v Speaker 4>I don't say that.
<v Speaker 5>I literally would be like, shut the fuck up.
<v Speaker 6>But in the morning, when she mentions that to Beatrix,
<v Speaker 6>everyone is confused. Beatrix says that she never had bad
<v Speaker 6>dreams last night, and Esmy tells all the girls that
<v Speaker 6>it's weird because none of them have had bad dreams
<v Speaker 6>in it forever, but just last week as Mey told
<v Speaker 6>all of them that she dreamt about snakes coming into
<v Speaker 6>the house. So now Mavin's like, did I make that?
<v Speaker 2>Shut up? Like, what the fuck is happening.
<v Speaker 6>Later in the day, Maven wanders to the old church
<v Speaker 6>where her mom's body was found. Ronan is there and
<v Speaker 6>demands that she leaves now it's in her best interest.
<v Speaker 6>As she's walking away, she hears an agonized scream in
<v Speaker 6>the distance, and then it stops. When she's back home,
<v Speaker 6>the phone rings again. It's a cemetery. They didn't find
<v Speaker 6>any one of her family members in their graves.
<v Speaker 2>All of their bones, everything is missing.
<v Speaker 3>They're just empty boxes or refrigerators. We don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>They hang up, and she's reminded of a voicemail that
<v Speaker 6>she has from Ezra. She listens and then looks up
<v Speaker 6>the article that he mentioned in the voicemail, and he
<v Speaker 6>tells her that she'll probably.
<v Speaker 2>Be interested in it.
<v Speaker 6>Once she reads the article. She gets to the bottom
<v Speaker 6>and the pharmaceutical company involved is Croft Pharmaceuticals AH, which
<v Speaker 6>is like some random article, like it really doesn't have
<v Speaker 6>anything to do with much, but the fact that Ezra
<v Speaker 6>just randomly started being like, hey, you should look this up.
<v Speaker 6>She didn't say where she's from to him, she didn't
<v Speaker 6>say anything about her town, like nothing, and he just
<v Speaker 6>randomly knew.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's weird.
<v Speaker 6>She calls Ezra and he pieces together some information for
<v Speaker 6>her that she never pieced together. Croft wanted access to
<v Speaker 6>a certain species of bug in the entomology program a
<v Speaker 6>couple of years ago. Their access got denied, and now
<v Speaker 6>she's wondering if that was Ronan trying to find her
<v Speaker 6>a couple of years ago. But then there's all the
<v Speaker 6>weird animal stuff going on in town, like the fox,
<v Speaker 6>the ravens, the butterfly that isn't native to that area.
<v Speaker 6>She's wondering if they're testing animal subjects. But then she
<v Speaker 6>takes it a step further. What if all the missing
<v Speaker 6>persons in town are the test subjects.
<v Speaker 2>That would make sense.
<v Speaker 6>She's got some thoughts in her brain. The Blackthorn females
<v Speaker 6>send all male offspring to the cross in exchange for money.
<v Speaker 3>That's crazy.
<v Speaker 2>That is crazy.
<v Speaker 6>She ran sacks her mom's room looking for any clues
<v Speaker 6>that could help. She finds nothing useful, but calls mister
<v Speaker 6>Walker back and tells them her theory. The testing is
<v Speaker 6>in the old church basement and starts, maybe everything that's
<v Speaker 6>happened since she talked to him yesterday. She tells them
<v Speaker 6>Ronan's family history with the mystery illness, and maybe all
<v Speaker 6>the testing is to help find a cure. He tells
<v Speaker 6>her to keep her phone on her he'll call her back.
<v Speaker 6>It's twenty minutes later and he tells her that fifteen
<v Speaker 6>years ago, the Croft family filed the lean and had
<v Speaker 6>the church basement redone, specifically by a company called Safari
<v Speaker 6>Large Exotic Animal Closures. So it's a basement full of cages.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yuh.
<v Speaker 6>She tells mister Walker, they have to do something about
<v Speaker 6>this now. He tells her not without proper procedure, so
<v Speaker 6>she continues to fire him and tells him to call
<v Speaker 6>her back up if he doesn't hear from her by
<v Speaker 6>noon tomorrow, and then she hangs up, holsters her pistol,
<v Speaker 6>and leaves.
<v Speaker 1>As she gets to the church, she hears a low,
<v Speaker 1>agonizing scream and she makes her way in, finding the
<v Speaker 1>door to the basement. She goes down and it's pitch black.
<v Speaker 1>She can't see anything, but all she smells is like
<v Speaker 1>an animal stench, and hears deep alarming ground and she
<v Speaker 1>knows down in her bones that it's just not human.
<v Speaker 1>Her instincts tell her to get the hell out of there,
<v Speaker 1>so she turns to leave, and she literally slips and
<v Speaker 1>falls and hits her head and knock herself out.
<v Speaker 2>Don't know, girl, I literally first to die.
<v Speaker 1>She wakes up in Rodan's bed, confused and disoriented. Edward
<v Speaker 1>he's like the cross version of Q so he's like,
<v Speaker 1>they're everything. Man. I guess he found her passed out
<v Speaker 1>in the basement and called him right away. She stirred
<v Speaker 1>up asked him, what's in the basement. He tells her
<v Speaker 1>it's wolfhounds, but somehow may even knew the answer was
<v Speaker 1>not the truth. It didn't explain the monstrous growling and
<v Speaker 1>the anguish cry she heard, and why he's been acting
<v Speaker 1>so strange. Rodan asked her for a favor. It's not
<v Speaker 1>just for him, it's for both of them. He asked
<v Speaker 1>her to promise to stay away from him because he's
<v Speaker 1>not strong enough to stay away from her. At first,
<v Speaker 1>she's taken back by his vulnerability, and then she's like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>it's because that bit she brought to Halloween. You have
<v Speaker 1>a girlfriend, don't you.
<v Speaker 2>Fair?
<v Speaker 1>Fair He's like, no, I'm your brother, and she airs
<v Speaker 1>out the whole thing. How like she knows the key
<v Speaker 1>requested access to her butterfly collection, but claimed that he
<v Speaker 1>didn't know at all where she was. So that was like,
<v Speaker 1>she just feels like betrayed. Thinking of how to answer her,
<v Speaker 1>he asked her, if he were to tell her that
<v Speaker 1>he's been in love with her for as long as
<v Speaker 1>he can remember, would she believe him. She immediately says no,
<v Speaker 1>So he's like everything else that I say is meaningless then,
<v Speaker 1>and then he just asked her to please take be
<v Speaker 1>a trick and leave stupid.
<v Speaker 2>Just say what you need to say, get it out.
<v Speaker 1>She's completely gagged, and she's like, wait, like you told
<v Speaker 1>me that you would hold me hostage if I ever
<v Speaker 1>tried to leave, Like, why are you.
<v Speaker 4>Kicking me out? This isn't how it's supposed to work.
<v Speaker 1>Since she's about to leave town and probably never talked
<v Speaker 1>to him again, she asked him if he's been kidnapping
<v Speaker 1>people and using them as test subjects in the church basement.
<v Speaker 1>He's like, what the actual fuck? Like, you literally think
<v Speaker 1>the absolute worst of me? Do you really think that's
<v Speaker 1>going down in my basement? Okay, I'll show you the basement.
<v Speaker 1>Let's go.
<v Speaker 2>When do I find out what the fuck he did
<v Speaker 2>to her?
<v Speaker 3>Well, I mean you did?
<v Speaker 1>What did he do?
<v Speaker 3>She was pregnant and he was like I don't want
<v Speaker 3>to be it done.
<v Speaker 4>Ah, that's like really bad.
<v Speaker 1>So they get back to the basement while she's like
<v Speaker 1>alive and conscious and she doesn't notice. The first thing
<v Speaker 1>is is she doesn't notice the smell at all. The
<v Speaker 1>first time that she went down and smelled like animal
<v Speaker 1>musk and like weird, and she doesn't smell anything she
<v Speaker 1>just smells mold and mildew. And there are six empty
<v Speaker 1>Florida ceiling medieval looking cages on each side. And as
<v Speaker 1>she's looking around playing a little detective run, it's like,
<v Speaker 1>do you want to do like a cute little truth
<v Speaker 1>for truth scheme? So we find out that she hasn't
<v Speaker 1>warned her hair down since they made love because he
<v Speaker 1>likes it down. She finds out that his sickness doesn't
<v Speaker 1>have a name, and that there's no cases outside of
<v Speaker 1>his family, so it's most likely a genetic mutation. She
<v Speaker 1>doesn't hate him, not even a little bit, not even
<v Speaker 1>at all.
<v Speaker 3>Oh my god, stop it. I can't think about Heath
<v Speaker 3>Ledger right now.
<v Speaker 1>He tells her that when he requested her work, he
<v Speaker 1>genuinely had no idea it was her work. Obviously, he's
<v Speaker 1>like a head honcho at Croft Pharmaceutical and he has
<v Speaker 1>a team of employees that literally work under him, and
<v Speaker 1>his employees were the one that requested her work because
<v Speaker 1>it had to do with what they were looking into.
<v Speaker 1>He said that if he would have known that she
<v Speaker 1>was the person that published it, he would have been
<v Speaker 1>there in person to pick it up. It's Ronan's turn
<v Speaker 1>to ask the question, and Maven knows what he's gonna ask.
<v Speaker 1>He asked if be a Trix is his. She ultimately
<v Speaker 1>answers by saying she will do anything to protect be
<v Speaker 1>a Trix. She would kill to keep her safe, and
<v Speaker 1>she's saying this because she doesn't want any type of miscommunication.
<v Speaker 1>So if he tries to take her and not even
<v Speaker 1>God can keep him safe from her, he nods, and
<v Speaker 1>he tells her that they have three days to leave.
<v Speaker 1>He and be a Trix have to be out of
<v Speaker 1>Stolcis before the sun sets. On the third day, he
<v Speaker 1>will let them both go and he won't follow. It
<v Speaker 1>will be the end.
<v Speaker 5>But if you're still here, I'll consider it your tactic
<v Speaker 5>acceptance that you're mine, and I'll never let you go,
<v Speaker 5>not even if you beg me to, and you will mabon.
<v Speaker 5>Once you know everything, you'll beg me to set you free,
<v Speaker 5>but it will be too late. Once I claim you
<v Speaker 5>your mind forever. His eyes are dark and endless as
<v Speaker 5>he repeats my words, not even God can keep you
<v Speaker 5>safe from me.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, yeah, but like tell her you're her brother.
<v Speaker 5>What if Beatrix does a twenty three and me down
<v Speaker 5>the road boom finds out mom and dad are brother
<v Speaker 5>and syss her it's.
<v Speaker 3>Just a family circle. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>He gives her a punishing smooch and then walks off,
<v Speaker 1>leaving her there. As she was about to turn to leave,
<v Speaker 1>her eyes ketch on a glimpse of something in between
<v Speaker 1>the seam of the brick on the wall of the cage.
<v Speaker 1>She wiggles it out and it's a smooth, perfect claw,
<v Speaker 1>which she puts on her purse for safekeeping. On her
<v Speaker 1>way out, she also noticed four tracks of a wheelchair
<v Speaker 1>tire impressions going to and from the basement.
<v Speaker 2>What's that little wheelchair?
<v Speaker 3>Fuck new endoment, fucking weelly, motherfucker.
<v Speaker 2>Two wheel bit.
<v Speaker 1>She showers, and as she's getting dressed and to eat,
<v Speaker 1>tells her that her friend Ezra is downstairs waiting for her,
<v Speaker 1>and she's like what the fuckber.
<v Speaker 3>Ezra is like, I hope we can still be friends.
<v Speaker 5>Call me.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, what is he doing here?
<v Speaker 1>As we're stating there and he's like, hey girl, sorry
<v Speaker 1>for showing up unannounced. I know we're broken up and stuff,
<v Speaker 1>but I thought you'd need support and all since you're
<v Speaker 1>fired and everything. She's like what and he's like, oh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Like there was like a team meeting, and they're just like,
<v Speaker 1>they said that you were fired defective immediately. So I thought,
<v Speaker 1>like I could be here so you can cry on
<v Speaker 1>my shoulder for what? What if she fired for?
<v Speaker 3>I mean she hasn't gone for like two weeks.
<v Speaker 1>I know.
<v Speaker 2>Oh wow.
<v Speaker 1>She tells him thanks, but no thanks, I do not
<v Speaker 1>need your support. You can literally actually leave now, and
<v Speaker 1>he's like, this is really awkward. But your aunties invited
<v Speaker 1>me to stay this weekend and I said yes, Sorry.
<v Speaker 2>I'd freak out. I would freak out.
<v Speaker 1>Annoyed, she tells him he can stay, but not in
<v Speaker 1>their manner. If he wants to be in this town,
<v Speaker 1>he's got to get a hotel or something. Maven tries
<v Speaker 1>calling her boss and she had no answer. She called
<v Speaker 1>her boss's boss, no answer, so she goes directed to
<v Speaker 1>calling Ronan. She kind of puts her finger at him,
<v Speaker 1>saying that he was the one who got her fired,
<v Speaker 1>but he denies it, and of course it pisses her
<v Speaker 1>off because she won't see him in any other light
<v Speaker 1>other than a monster. She gets vulnerable for a moment
<v Speaker 1>and she tells him she's tired of them fighting. She
<v Speaker 1>just wants peace. But she can't do it alone, and
<v Speaker 1>she wants his side of everything because with her speculating everything,
<v Speaker 1>it's just making it hell for her. He agrees, but
<v Speaker 1>only if it's in person, and they decide they will
<v Speaker 1>meet tomorrow. It tikes o'clock at Ronan's, Mabon and Ezbra
<v Speaker 1>go to dinner to catch up, and it's awkward as
<v Speaker 1>fuck because Mabon wants absolutely nothing to do with him.
<v Speaker 1>He gets a white girl wasted off of red wine,
<v Speaker 1>and by the end of dinner. As for Swaying, he
<v Speaker 1>tells her he got fucked up because he's hella nervous
<v Speaker 1>since he has something to ask her. He pulls her
<v Speaker 1>into a dark alley and she's like, great, Like I
<v Speaker 1>have the worst luck ever. I'm literally probably about to
<v Speaker 1>get kidnapped or something. But no, it's worse. He's like,
<v Speaker 1>marry me. No, He like brings out a whole thing
<v Speaker 1>of statistics, like basically saying that like they're both smart,
<v Speaker 1>they're a great match, you know, match made in heaven
<v Speaker 1>a lot, even though he admitted that he doesn't even
<v Speaker 1>really love her, and then he had to word it
<v Speaker 1>hurts and he's like, be so for real, right now,
<v Speaker 1>do you really think that you can find someone better
<v Speaker 1>than me.
<v Speaker 2>That's mean.
<v Speaker 1>Seeing the pain on her face makes him creepy smile,
<v Speaker 1>and then his eyes go away from her face to
<v Speaker 1>something behind her shoulder, and he turns ghostly white and
<v Speaker 1>chokes back a scream and then runs away, not looking back.
<v Speaker 1>When maeven turns to slick over her shoulder, there's nothing there.
<v Speaker 1>She gets home and tucks herself into bed and her
<v Speaker 1>phone goes off. It's a text from Ronan saying that
<v Speaker 1>if he ever disrespects her like that again, he'll cut
<v Speaker 1>out his tongue, and she's like, what the fuck? Like,
<v Speaker 1>how does he know Ezra's here?
<v Speaker 5>Careful, Mabon, if you keep it up, that smart ass
<v Speaker 5>tone will backfire on you, meaning what you'll come over
<v Speaker 5>here and give me a spanking. His voice deadly soft,
<v Speaker 5>he says, Oh, I'll give you something much more than that,
<v Speaker 5>then disconnects, Oh, come.
<v Speaker 1>Over now that Mabon is hot and bothered. She went
<v Speaker 1>downstairs to get a glass of whiskey, and she's a
<v Speaker 1>shadowy figure slipping between the door of her greenhouse. She
<v Speaker 1>grabs his steak knife and is ready to confront whoever's trespassing,
<v Speaker 1>but have no fear, It's just sexy baby daddy.
<v Speaker 5>Ronan, what are you doing here? Maybe I came to
<v Speaker 5>give you that spanking you asked for.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>The door slam shut, and Ronan, who was once across
<v Speaker 1>the room from her, is now standing directly in front
<v Speaker 1>of her. He presses her about Ezra being here, and
<v Speaker 1>she presses him about the woman from Halloween, and both
<v Speaker 1>sides are just like pouring jealousy right now. Mavion said,
<v Speaker 1>if he's jealous and if he does care what she
<v Speaker 1>does and who she's with, to please share with the
<v Speaker 1>class on why he suddenly wants her to leave so bad.
<v Speaker 1>He looks at her with heat in his eyes and
<v Speaker 1>then just says fuck it.
<v Speaker 5>He grabs me and crushes his mouth into mine, his
<v Speaker 5>arms pinning me against his body. He drinks deeply from
<v Speaker 5>my mouth, moaning into it. When I match his passion,
<v Speaker 5>I kiss him back with a mixture of relief and
<v Speaker 5>elation that leaves me dizzy. He's so big and masculine,
<v Speaker 5>hard everywhere I'm soft. But we fit together as if
<v Speaker 5>we were made for each other on some deeper level
<v Speaker 5>than rational dot.
<v Speaker 2>I believe we were through.
<v Speaker 1>Everything they've gone through Mavon knows that, even though he
<v Speaker 1>doesn't feel the same way, she loves him with her
<v Speaker 1>whole heart. But guess what kooky Ronan delivered. He looked
<v Speaker 1>her dead in the eyes and told her he would
<v Speaker 1>burn every single thing down for her, the town, his life,
<v Speaker 1>the world if she asked him to.
<v Speaker 3>He says, I don't care that I'm your brother. I
<v Speaker 3>don't care that we have the same dad.
<v Speaker 1>Our bond runs.
<v Speaker 4>Deep, deeper than most.
<v Speaker 1>Maven is gagged. She's shocked beyond beliefs that he genuinely
<v Speaker 1>means it. She needs to hear him say it out
<v Speaker 1>loud so she knows it's real. So he does. He
<v Speaker 1>tells her she's it, It's always been her, and he
<v Speaker 1>apologizes for his hand in treating her poorly, and she
<v Speaker 1>apologizes to him for being such a raging bitch, and
<v Speaker 1>then they smooched. He throws her on the greenhouse table.
<v Speaker 2>My heart pounding, I break away and whisper they'll hear us.
<v Speaker 2>Let them, my gosh, did they want to hear you?
<v Speaker 1>Just as she was naked beneath him and had his
<v Speaker 1>dick in her hands, he stopped. He tells her, I
<v Speaker 1>am not who you think I am, but she won't
<v Speaker 1>hear one more second of it. She tells him what
<v Speaker 1>he is is hers. They belong to each other, and
<v Speaker 1>nothing else matters your blood. So he looks her dead
<v Speaker 1>in the eyes and he says nothing else matters.
<v Speaker 3>He says, I've done all I can do.
<v Speaker 2>I tried, Yeah, just won't try anymore.
<v Speaker 5>Staring into his eyes, I whisper nothing else matters.
<v Speaker 2>Now, fuck me, take what's yours?
<v Speaker 4>Step throwing stuck half bro.
<v Speaker 2>Not even step.
<v Speaker 5>It'd be better if it was step, like an animal
<v Speaker 5>running with its mate. He bites me on the neck
<v Speaker 5>and growls against my skin as he pumps his hips,
<v Speaker 5>fucking me with ruthless strokes and pulling my hair.
<v Speaker 1>He's giving her the sibling Special five thousand, and.
<v Speaker 2>The sibling Special five thousand is what she just said.
<v Speaker 2>He's putting it at work, Hannah.
<v Speaker 3>His dad walks in, and he's like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 3>I just love seeing my kids getting along so well.
<v Speaker 1>Yay, Now, why don't.
<v Speaker 6>You push my wheelchair?
<v Speaker 5>His cock swells and growing harder and longer than before,
<v Speaker 5>until it seems I won't be able to take more
<v Speaker 5>of the massive organ, but I do, groaning in pleasure.
<v Speaker 2>As he fucks my wet hole. Wet hole, that's not
<v Speaker 2>my favorite.
<v Speaker 1>As her orgasm is building, Maven has an intense foreboding feeling,
<v Speaker 1>like down to her bones. But then she feels Ronan
<v Speaker 1>come and it draws out the most powerful orgasm of
<v Speaker 1>her entire existence. Things get intense fast. He's coming, but
<v Speaker 1>he's still fucking the life out of her. There's fire
<v Speaker 1>embers flickering around them. He comes again, and this time
<v Speaker 1>her scream shatters the air. Ronan screams into the sky
<v Speaker 1>and he's choking her while they're both literally still coming
<v Speaker 1>and Stemen's just pouring out of her. She looks up
<v Speaker 1>at Ronan and he has horns like and he has
<v Speaker 1>horns and batty wings and that like emids smoke and sparks,
<v Speaker 1>and at the end of each wing is a long talent.
<v Speaker 2>What the fuck?
<v Speaker 1>The best?
<v Speaker 2>I thought this was a human book?
<v Speaker 4>What what is he a bird? He just got.
<v Speaker 2>What the fuck?
<v Speaker 1>She tries screaming, but he's still choking the fuck out
<v Speaker 1>of her, so she can't get anything out, and then
<v Speaker 1>he flips her over.
<v Speaker 2>She get your talons away from me.
<v Speaker 5>He pushes my thighs apart, flondling my bottom and spreading
<v Speaker 5>his cumb all around his fingers roughly probing the tender
<v Speaker 5>butt of my ass. When he slides two fingers inside
<v Speaker 5>of me and starts to work them around in a circle,
<v Speaker 5>I know he's preparing me to take his cock.
<v Speaker 1>He's going to a pound town and she orgasms again.
<v Speaker 1>He keeps repeating the word maez over and over and
<v Speaker 1>over again, and a sigils on his wrist.
<v Speaker 5>Glow red, heavy testicles slap against my bare pussy with
<v Speaker 5>each snap of his hips, sending waves of pleasure throughout
<v Speaker 5>my body, dulling the pain of my stretched anus.
<v Speaker 2>Oh anus, what is that doing?
<v Speaker 5>He reaches between my legs and tugs on my engorged clip,
<v Speaker 5>tweaking and stroking it until I'm surging nearer to another orgasm,
<v Speaker 5>my ass stuffed with his car and my mouth with
<v Speaker 5>his fingers tugs on my engorged clip.
<v Speaker 1>And now he's licking his come up from literally starting
<v Speaker 1>at her ankles all the way up to her pussy.
<v Speaker 5>He slides two thick fingers inside my pussy, fits his
<v Speaker 5>mouth over my aching asshole, and sucks his sperm out
<v Speaker 5>of me, making the vicious noises of pleasure as he
<v Speaker 5>swallows over and over again, slurping his own comb, shoving
<v Speaker 5>his tongue deep inside my orifice to get every drop.
<v Speaker 1>She orgasms once more, just by that alone, and he
<v Speaker 1>says mayes again her knowing a thing or two about Latin,
<v Speaker 1>she knows he's been chancing your mind over and over,
<v Speaker 1>and then she loses consciousness.
<v Speaker 3>She's not good at staying awake.
<v Speaker 6>Or he chugged the soul out of her ass.
<v Speaker 1>It's true. Maven woke up in her bed with Auntie
<v Speaker 1>over her, being like, girl, wake up. You were having
<v Speaker 1>a nightmare and screaming bloody murder. You have a high fever.
<v Speaker 1>Don't get up. She asks for Beatrix's and Auntie tells
<v Speaker 1>her she said the Greenhouse with Q. The winds were
<v Speaker 1>crazy last night and blew the door open, knocking the
<v Speaker 1>pots around. They leave her to rest, and immediately she
<v Speaker 1>checks her phone and she's like, there's no way that
<v Speaker 1>I just imagined that entire thing. But there was no
<v Speaker 1>text or call in her phone from Ronan.
<v Speaker 3>Well, is your ass on fire right now?
<v Speaker 2>Because like literally.
<v Speaker 1>She also notices that her text from Ezra's missing, along
<v Speaker 1>with her calls from work, and at this point she's
<v Speaker 1>questioning her sanity. She asked her aunties if Ezra came
<v Speaker 1>by this morning, and they're like, who, We don't know
<v Speaker 1>who you're talking about. They tell her to drink the
<v Speaker 1>tea that they made for her and it'll make her
<v Speaker 1>feel better soon. So she does in one sitting and
<v Speaker 1>it makes her Auntie smile, how and when she gets up,
<v Speaker 1>she looks at herself in the mirror and she basically
<v Speaker 1>looks like a borderline corpse. That's definitely ill. She's questioning everything.
<v Speaker 1>She goes to her purse where she put the talent
<v Speaker 1>that she had that she found in the basement, and
<v Speaker 1>it's no longer there. Her aunties do a house call
<v Speaker 1>to one of the guy Auntie d is fucking, and
<v Speaker 1>it's a doctor, obviously, and she tells the guy about
<v Speaker 1>her dreams and the paranoia, the dizzy and his headaches
<v Speaker 1>and fever, and since her fever has apparently broke, he
<v Speaker 1>deems it a virus of some sort. When he's gone,
<v Speaker 1>she hears a buzzing noise and an intense form of
<v Speaker 1>bees and it makes her skin crawl and she instantly
<v Speaker 1>feels uneasy. She catches herself in the mirror and there's
<v Speaker 1>black flies covering her entire body, and her eyes are
<v Speaker 1>white and glossed over, and she looks like something that's
<v Speaker 1>died a long time ago.
<v Speaker 2>What the fuck imagine that being one of your hallucinations.
<v Speaker 5>I would smash her face into the glass. I feel
<v Speaker 5>like it, just like a reflax.
<v Speaker 1>She's like full blown hallucinating at this point that she's
<v Speaker 1>a living corpse, and she goes to run out of
<v Speaker 1>the room, and she runs straight into Auntie E. Suddenly
<v Speaker 1>the buzzing stops, and when she looks down at her hands,
<v Speaker 1>there's not a fly in sight.
<v Speaker 4>As Auntie's are.
<v Speaker 1>Ready to go to church, something inside her nags that
<v Speaker 1>she must go to. At the end of service, they
<v Speaker 1>take be a home, but maybe even sticks behind. Father
<v Speaker 1>O'Brien comes up to her and tells her that she
<v Speaker 1>can still be saved. It's not too late for her
<v Speaker 1>if she were to repent for her since she can
<v Speaker 1>still save, He tells her that there's a war on
<v Speaker 1>her soul right now and soon she will have to
<v Speaker 1>choose a side. She turns to leave, but he's next
<v Speaker 1>to her in an instant, pressing something into her hand
<v Speaker 1>and holding onto her wrist hard. He tells her the
<v Speaker 1>old Serpent is stirring and spreading plague throughout her blood
<v Speaker 1>like poison. Soon he will fulfill the prophecy and claim
<v Speaker 1>who has promised to him and the queen who will
<v Speaker 1>roll by his side in hell. But she can be
<v Speaker 1>saved if she repents.
<v Speaker 2>Oh good, away from me.
<v Speaker 1>In her hands. She found a wooden rosary, and some
<v Speaker 1>weird shit goes on at the church after this, like
<v Speaker 1>the cross from the wall comes flying down, and the
<v Speaker 1>Virgin Mary statue like turns its head and looks straight
<v Speaker 1>at Maven. She hears the building starts whispering, and then
<v Speaker 1>it turns into his scream in Latin. No. She gets
<v Speaker 1>home and immediately starts packing her bags and she's like,
<v Speaker 1>fuck this, I'm out of this crazy ass town. She
<v Speaker 1>calls Bia and tells her that they're moving back to Manhattan,
<v Speaker 1>and Beatrix is like, what, you pulled me out of
<v Speaker 1>school last week when I said I didn't want to
<v Speaker 1>go back. You said it was okay and that we
<v Speaker 1>can move here, and you even sent a letter to
<v Speaker 1>my principal. But Maven has absolutely no memory of this.
<v Speaker 1>Once she's done packing their things, she goes to get
<v Speaker 1>Beatrix to leave, but the whole entire house is empty.
<v Speaker 1>She's a strong feeling of impending doom and she's outside
<v Speaker 1>frantically searching for Beatrix. She sees the red fox and
<v Speaker 1>it's almost like it's pleading with her to follow it.
<v Speaker 1>She's lured deep into the woods, like so deep where
<v Speaker 1>she doesn't know which directions which anymore, and distinct smell.
<v Speaker 3>Stops her in her tracks.
<v Speaker 1>It's the same a smell that she smelled when she
<v Speaker 1>was in the greenhouse, coal animal musk and charred wood.
<v Speaker 1>A shadow creature falls over her and it blocks her
<v Speaker 1>entire view and it smells strongly of brimstone. Before she
<v Speaker 1>could do anything, she sees wings and then smoke, and
<v Speaker 1>then the form solidifies, and the next thing that she knows,
<v Speaker 1>she's in the creature's arms and it's launched into the sky.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my god.
<v Speaker 1>The creature flies her through the mountains to its cave
<v Speaker 1>and gently puts her down. And when she looks up
<v Speaker 1>at the creature, she's stunned to see familiar pale blue eyes.
<v Speaker 2>Is it her brother or her dad?
<v Speaker 1>When she looks lower, she gets a jump scare because
<v Speaker 1>she finds a huge raging boner.
<v Speaker 5>Its thick penis is ridged all the way up the shaft,
<v Speaker 5>topped with a swollen red crown that glistens with clear fluid.
<v Speaker 5>At the slit, a wisp of smoke rises from the fluid.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, I just thought it was funny that it's dick
<v Speaker 1>was smoking.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. She tries to fight it off.
<v Speaker 1>And the creature almost seems amused, like it's basically purring.
<v Speaker 1>It takes its talon and slices her clothes right off.
<v Speaker 1>And she thought it was just gonna fuck her right
<v Speaker 1>away and take its pleasure from her. But no, no,
<v Speaker 1>it's the other way around. The creature spreads her legs
<v Speaker 1>open and then it just starts eating it and it's
<v Speaker 1>fucking her with its monster tongue.
<v Speaker 2>Huh.
<v Speaker 1>At first she's like, ah, scary, but then she's like, ah,
<v Speaker 1>so scary. Oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>Ah.
<v Speaker 1>She holds the creature's horns like handlebars as it's eating
<v Speaker 1>her out, and she's grinding down on its face. She
<v Speaker 1>can't help it. She wants this monster dick, and next
<v Speaker 1>thing she knows, she's saying Ronin please. Finally she gets
<v Speaker 1>the monster dick, and she's getting her shit rocked. Oh
<v Speaker 1>I bet got that he says you're mine, and she
<v Speaker 1>feels fangs against her neck and then him drinking her.
<v Speaker 1>She's a crazy orgasm. But then she wakes alone in
<v Speaker 1>her bed with her hands down her pants.
<v Speaker 2>Oh okay, what the fuck?
<v Speaker 1>When she grabs her phone, she has six miss calls
<v Speaker 1>from Ronan and the date should be Sunday, only it's Tuesday,
<v Speaker 1>meaning that she lost two days. Her whole room is
<v Speaker 1>no longer packed, it's exactly how it was previously. She
<v Speaker 1>even calls her old job and they're like, we don't
<v Speaker 1>know who you are. We don't know who Ezra is like,
<v Speaker 1>grow your fucking crazy?
<v Speaker 2>What Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>Her phone drops to the ground and a second later
<v Speaker 1>it starts ringing. She picks it up and it's Ronan
<v Speaker 1>on the other end, pleading to know she's okay. She's like, wait,
<v Speaker 1>do you remember me? And Pooky's Hella worried about her,
<v Speaker 1>but she's reluctant to say what's going on because she's like,
<v Speaker 1>you are gonna think that I'm bashit crazy. As they're talking,
<v Speaker 1>she starts having just a menty bee. She's spewing out
<v Speaker 1>maybe she's the dead one, like were there even dead bodies?
<v Speaker 1>Like just a breakdown at this point because she like,
<v Speaker 1>she has a whole break in reality. She doesn't know
<v Speaker 1>what's real, what's up, what's down, because like, yeah, how
<v Speaker 1>would you. She knows that while she has him on
<v Speaker 1>the phone, she needs to tell him how she feels,
<v Speaker 1>and she declares her undying love for him. He tells
<v Speaker 1>her that he loves her too, and that he's coming
<v Speaker 1>right now to get her and Beatrix needing to get Beatrix,
<v Speaker 1>she hangs up on Ronan and she sees something inky
<v Speaker 1>slither across her walls, stretching to fill her whole entire ceiling,
<v Speaker 1>and that's the sneaky snake.
<v Speaker 2>Oh.
<v Speaker 1>She closes her eyes and when she opens them again,
<v Speaker 1>it's gone. She sees a reflection in the mirror and
<v Speaker 1>it's completely back to normal, except she has a rosary
<v Speaker 1>around her neck and two small puncture wounds on her
<v Speaker 1>throat midst viral. She hears Beatrix cry and that springs
<v Speaker 1>her into action. So in mythology, pomegranates are tied to
<v Speaker 1>the underworld because of Hades and Persephone. And when she
<v Speaker 1>goes downstairs to her kitchen, her entire kitchen table is
<v Speaker 1>filled with pomegranates, and I think that's like a kind
<v Speaker 1>of like a symbol, saying that her house is hell.
<v Speaker 2>Oh okay.
<v Speaker 1>She gets into the cellar where she heard the cries
<v Speaker 1>and it smells like herbs that would be used in sacrifices.
<v Speaker 1>When suddenly she's kicked down and slams her head into
<v Speaker 1>the ground. She feels her limbs being locked into something
<v Speaker 1>and sees a tallhooded figure standing over her. She looks
<v Speaker 1>around and she's basically in a huge underground catacomb in
<v Speaker 1>her basement. There's a person chained to an altar across
<v Speaker 1>from her with runes edged in their stomach, and it's.
<v Speaker 2>Ezra Oh, Ezra dang got astray.
<v Speaker 1>There's snake skin everywhere, and the person hovering over her
<v Speaker 1>lifted their cloak. It's Antie d and she says, welcome
<v Speaker 1>to the party. We're just getting started.
<v Speaker 4>She's like, what the fuck.
<v Speaker 1>Is happening, that's what she's saying. She thinks that there
<v Speaker 1>must be a slip in reality, because there's no way
<v Speaker 1>that her sweet aunt is about to sacrifice her. And
<v Speaker 1>Auntie tells her that before she left town, the first time,
<v Speaker 1>she left before she could be initiated, So they're fixing
<v Speaker 1>that today. Auntie also drops a bomb that they know
<v Speaker 1>that Ronan is Beatrix's dad, and although he's a Croft,
<v Speaker 1>they're not that upset because mating a witch with the
<v Speaker 1>demon makes the child incredibly powerful. When Beatrix is of age,
<v Speaker 1>she'll be the most powerful witch in generations. So they
<v Speaker 1>admitted that they're a family of witches and that Ronan
<v Speaker 1>the Cross are demons.
<v Speaker 4>Oh.
<v Speaker 1>We find out that her aunties knew her mom was
<v Speaker 1>trying to right or wrong the day that she died,
<v Speaker 1>and she was trying to undo the original spell. But
<v Speaker 1>a caster's final spell before death can never be reversed.
<v Speaker 1>The ravens that always come after Elijah Croft was because
<v Speaker 1>her grandmother casted it before she died to always have
<v Speaker 1>him be attacked by ravens. Maven starts crying and she's like, girl,
<v Speaker 1>don't cry just yet. You didn't even hear the best part.
<v Speaker 1>Your mom didn't die from trying to undo the curse.
<v Speaker 1>She died because she did a foolish thing, and I
<v Speaker 1>made sure that she would never be able to make
<v Speaker 1>another one. So Auntie d killed her.
<v Speaker 2>Oh damn.
<v Speaker 1>Auntie starts getting Ezra off while she's telling Mavin that
<v Speaker 1>their master's almost ready and when he rises, he will
<v Speaker 1>claim his queen to roll beside him and guess who
<v Speaker 1>it is. Be it Trix, a child bride. No, there's
<v Speaker 1>a whole entire sacrifice scene at this part, Like it's
<v Speaker 1>just crazy, but basically, Ezra's killed in the middle of
<v Speaker 1>his orgasm and Q is finger fucking both of his
<v Speaker 1>aunties and then.
<v Speaker 5>Just like starts fucking on both, so he's like, oh
<v Speaker 5>my god, that's cue okay.
<v Speaker 1>She quickly knows that she's next for the initiation, and
<v Speaker 1>she's like, I don't want to get fingered by Q,
<v Speaker 1>that's fair. She's panicking and through all the terror, she
<v Speaker 1>hears her name being called something with The sacrifice goes
<v Speaker 1>wrong because both Auntie starts screaming and a huge, smoky
<v Speaker 1>demon is in front of her. He uses his talents
<v Speaker 1>to get her free from the altar, but it's not
<v Speaker 1>just any demon, it's her demon, Ronan Gay. He roars
<v Speaker 1>and lifts them into the sky, getting her out just
<v Speaker 1>in time. Ronan is in the hospital with both Beatrix
<v Speaker 1>and Maven, both of them one room away. While he's
<v Speaker 1>sitting watching Beatrix sleep and holds onto her hand, one
<v Speaker 1>of the nurses says someone is here to visit Maven
<v Speaker 1>and he's like huh. He goes out and it's this
<v Speaker 1>old groundskeeper, Silas Hawthorne. He asks him what he's doing here,
<v Speaker 1>and it turns out Silas is Maeven's dad, So they're.
<v Speaker 2>Not brother in sisiety.
<v Speaker 1>Oh shit, tricked?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, wow, he thought they were when they did.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>He was just gonna ignore that, and he was like, well,
<v Speaker 5>my dad never admitted to it.
<v Speaker 1>He just kind of let me believe it, so that
<v Speaker 1>was really shitty of him. But he was like, eh,
<v Speaker 1>Dad's what are you gonna do. Mavin wakes up and
<v Speaker 1>Rodan goes to see her. We find out they're in
<v Speaker 1>a hospital from smoking elation and their house got burnt
<v Speaker 1>down and their anties did not make it out. Rodan
<v Speaker 1>vows to keep her safe and protected, and he loves
<v Speaker 1>her with all of his heart. Even though Blackthorns don't marry,
<v Speaker 1>he can't wait to put a ring on her finger
<v Speaker 1>and have him, her and Beatrix be one happy family.
<v Speaker 1>We're in the epilogue and it's in her private investigator
<v Speaker 1>Cole Walker's point of view, and he saw the Blackthorn
<v Speaker 1>Manner fire on the news. He immediately packed his bags
<v Speaker 1>and headed to Solstice. He made his way to the
<v Speaker 1>burnt down house where all the press and cops were
<v Speaker 1>and was able to get the tea. It turns out
<v Speaker 1>the reporter says that the fire started from extremely high
<v Speaker 1>levels of carbon monoxide in the air. The two that
<v Speaker 1>went to the hospital, Mavon and Beatrix, had high levels
<v Speaker 1>of carbon monoxide poisoning. The doctor who saw Mavin recently
<v Speaker 1>misdiagnosed it as a virus, but it was actually CO
<v Speaker 1>two poisoning. So she was having hallucinations, disneess and nausea
<v Speaker 1>and everything. So like, damn, we don't even know at
<v Speaker 1>what point in the book was her hallucinations and what
<v Speaker 1>was real?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, because there was a lot of weird shit going on. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>Like her aunts were straight up cursing people.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and her aunts had the ability because they're witches,
<v Speaker 1>they had the ability to remove memories. So that's why
<v Speaker 1>she like no one could remember that. She worked and
<v Speaker 1>like literally spent her entire life getting a degree. And
<v Speaker 1>then they were like, wholer, Damn, that's crazy.
<v Speaker 3>You don't know what the truth is, but like you're
<v Speaker 3>pretty sure it was a supernatural situation.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, Yeah, so no one even knows if Ronan is
<v Speaker 1>a talented, hot, sexy demon or if she was hallucinating
<v Speaker 1>the entire thing.
<v Speaker 2>The fox could be Granny we don't know, could be.
<v Speaker 1>The black eyed children that Beatrix saw, could have been
<v Speaker 1>her hallucinating because she was having carbon monoxide poisoning so rightly.
<v Speaker 3>How many red pepper emojis do you give this one?
<v Speaker 2>I liked it a lot. I think I give it four.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, I liked it.
<v Speaker 5>I like.
<v Speaker 3>And do you think Ronan Croft is sexy?
<v Speaker 5>I do?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I do. He's got away with the words.
<v Speaker 3>It does also black hair piercing blue eyes. Would you
<v Speaker 3>trade places with Maven.
<v Speaker 2>Because that one's a tough one.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I mean like maybe, but like I would go
<v Speaker 5>insane so quickly if I was her? Yeah, absolutely bad
<v Speaker 5>shit insane. I would make it everyone's problem.
<v Speaker 3>I would never be okay again.
<v Speaker 2>No, I would not survive that well.
<v Speaker 3>Next week, by popular demand, we are going to be
<v Speaker 3>telling Riley all about God of Fury by Rina Kent,
<v Speaker 3>and we're gonna have her look at the cover and
<v Speaker 3>give us her best guess on what it might be about.
<v Speaker 3>I cannot even count the amount of times that this
<v Speaker 3>book has been requested.
<v Speaker 5>I can't even remember what the fuck God of Malice
<v Speaker 5>was about.
<v Speaker 2>He's in like a mob, right, Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>They were like at school where it was like half
<v Speaker 3>British half American. Yeah, and he like killed people and
<v Speaker 3>then she was like trying to take her life at
<v Speaker 3>the cliff.
<v Speaker 1>He's like, I'll save your life. You suck my dick.
<v Speaker 5>Oh I remember that, And Jenna was like, ah, so
<v Speaker 5>this one got a fury. It says I'm taken by
<v Speaker 5>a beautiful nightmare. And I already know because the girly
<v Speaker 5>spoiled a little bit of this, but I already know.
<v Speaker 2>It's a boy.
<v Speaker 4>Book, bully boy biz, I think.
<v Speaker 2>And it does say it's a college romance.
<v Speaker 5>So I think they're gonna be in college, and I
<v Speaker 5>think one of them is going to be like in
<v Speaker 5>the mafia mob type thing, you know, one of them.
<v Speaker 2>One of them's like a real bad boy.
<v Speaker 5>Then the other guy he's not, but he like gets
<v Speaker 5>wrapped up into it and into their like mess, and
<v Speaker 5>so he like tags along with this other.
<v Speaker 2>Guy and they have eyes for each other.
<v Speaker 5>They're having eyes and then they just you know, develop
<v Speaker 5>a relationship. But it's kind of weird at first because
<v Speaker 5>they're like, whoa unexpected and then something crazy big is
<v Speaker 5>gonna happen. There will be no third act breakup, there
<v Speaker 5>will be a happy ending.
<v Speaker 1>How do you do something big happens?
<v Speaker 5>I had to be vague, had to be vague on
<v Speaker 5>this one. It's harder for me to do these. I
<v Speaker 5>feel like when we do a sequel book, they're like
<v Speaker 5>always harder for me.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know why that's fair.
<v Speaker 4>That's fair.
<v Speaker 3>Well, we'll find out next week. And thank you JT.
<v Speaker 3>Geisinger for letting us read this book early and for
<v Speaker 3>hanging out with us.
<v Speaker 1>There was a lot of detail in the book too,
<v Speaker 1>so we definitely recommend checking it out and reading it
<v Speaker 1>because we had to leave a lot of stuff out
