[SPEAKER_06]: And I like to look at videos and say, you know, I'm a visual person, like most guys are.

[SPEAKER_06]: It's very very interesting and I don't know how many there are the very late now.

[SPEAKER_04]: When I used to announce for them, if I wanted it to go smoothly for a one o'clock game, and this is when I lived in McLean, not far away, I would have to leave at 9 a.m. for a one o'clock game, and I worked there.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then if you stayed for the game, it would go to a 430 and it would be another two hours.

[SPEAKER_04]: Just for the first time.

[SPEAKER_18]: The first time I had regret the first time was yesterday when they announced that

[SPEAKER_06]: I said that the one time I'm sure that somehow it was a miracle that they're going to start winning games because are you getting sucked into that because you know I think that both you guys actually you know you you're both lifers in this market and I'm not right that's right I see it a little more clearly than you do I'm looking at the same stuff

[SPEAKER_06]: Anybody that thinks the church does anybody thinks Kirk Cousins is and it's not only don't call him Kirk it's Kirk Cousins.

[SPEAKER_18]: If I wanted to, I could barely sell them for face value and everything else in StubHub was because they were so horrible was half price.

[SPEAKER_18]: So why would I, and if I would have sold them for face value to somebody, because for some reason I thought it couldn't go to the game, I sat there and I said, well, if I sell these, then

[SPEAKER_18]: I'm, I feel like I'm taking advantage of them because Starbucks is selling these same tickets for half the price because they don't want to buy them.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: It has become, uh, you know, and I'm still a passionate Red Sox fan, and it has become more of, I think we as fans are far harsher than we ever have been.

[SPEAKER_06]: I really do.

[SPEAKER_06]: I really think about it.

[SPEAKER_06]: I just think that people, they we invest more life is difficult, okay?

[SPEAKER_06]: Life is top.

[SPEAKER_06]: It's not easy to say the

[SPEAKER_06]: So very much but the thing about it is people I think people are out there slaying the dragon and in the cities That you see where the fans go out of their mind.

[SPEAKER_06]: It's a tough long winter and they and DC's no exception and for some reason

[SPEAKER_06]: DC, even though they've got a baseball team that's in the hunt and a hockey team that tries to stay in the hunt, the focus is always on the washing team.

[SPEAKER_06]: All has been and always will go out of their minds and would it say, and Oscar and Rob, you've been there more times than I have, probably the drunkest fan base in the NFL.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I believe.

[SPEAKER_04]: For Game Day, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: Last year, it was the drunkest fan base for any sporting event.

[SPEAKER_04]: If you want to get hammered, go to a tailgate.

[SPEAKER_04]: Mike, do you think it has to do the harshness, the increased harshness versus the teams with the business getting bigger and more expensive and you have to be more financially interested.

[SPEAKER_06]: I think it's actually simpler than that.

[SPEAKER_06]: I think that we are now getting, we're all the instant gratification people.

[SPEAKER_06]: All generations now are used to we want it now.

[SPEAKER_06]: So the idea of long suffering, uh, you know, it's like, for example, my, my team, your beloved Boston Red Zax 2004.

[SPEAKER_06]: We waited for a championship now that they won in 07 and 13.

[SPEAKER_06]: Now there is a fan base that's like, uh,

[SPEAKER_06]: Well, they had 500 losing seasons when I was growing up.

[SPEAKER_06]: But now nobody can deal with it anymore.

[SPEAKER_06]: To me, it makes it more intriguing.

[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, there are so many people with tickets that are willing to give them away at times.

[SPEAKER_18]: If you just, if your timing is right, you will scoop up a pair of tickets and enjoy that game day experience for free, most likely.

[SPEAKER_18]: because people can't go to every game.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it's more than that because what happens is, and I'll speak to this because I announced for them and I got to be on the field for, I think probably five years.

[SPEAKER_04]: And there was nothing more beautiful than walking out on that field on opening day.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it was green and sunny and the excitement was in the years.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then about November 1st is where they normally are statistically eliminated.

[SPEAKER_04]: And you realize you'll pardon the expression, you're just,

[SPEAKER_04]: And there's no point in being there and the fans are going to go sit in freezing weather and if it's raining Remember the stadium was brilliantly designed so certain people's seats are actually under down spouts So you would actually have water pouring on you by for a team that can't advance

[SPEAKER_04]: Mark my words, that's when you get your free ticket.

[SPEAKER_18]: A new facility will change everything, especially if it's a better location and it's Metro accessible.

[SPEAKER_18]: I just went to the Nationals game on and that's probably my sixth national game.

[SPEAKER_18]: A Nationals game since then.

[SPEAKER_18]: I had gone there enough that the guy the guys they would give me like a great discount Okay, every week right so they would give me I guess the hook-up So I was like this is fine.

[SPEAKER_18]: As soon as I got out, my first sign of trouble was that a gentleman in white camera with the Ethiopian flag on the back of the windshield almost killed me because apparently stop signs don't matter in that part of town.

[SPEAKER_04]: And maybe you took his parking spot.

[SPEAKER_18]: I look around.

[SPEAKER_18]: And as soon as I walk in, Rocky says, Oh, I forgot to tell you, we only take cash.

[SPEAKER_18]: And I said, I got cash on me, Rocky.

[SPEAKER_18]: I figured something was on.

[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, good thing to yell on that man, bro.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, really.

[SPEAKER_04]: Did you just stand in the strings?

[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, I got cash.

[SPEAKER_04]: What's up?

[SPEAKER_04]: I have cash in the sorefoot, so I don't run very fast.

[SPEAKER_18]: I realized I'd walked into what was a Hollywood replica, but in real life, and DC of the barber shop in coming to America.

[SPEAKER_18]: And I said, this is awesome.

[SPEAKER_18]: Because one, this is a great experience to talk about on the show, right?

[SPEAKER_18]: Two, I knew I was going to get a legitimate haircut because Rocky was there, and he cut my hair in the past.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was downstairs doing something on the computer and I said to Robert I said before dinner on Saturday night, I need you to walk the dog and this is always a tremendous head-butting experience even though the kids promised me for two years that if we ever got a dog they would always walk the dog.

[SPEAKER_04]: They never walked the dog.

[SPEAKER_04]: I said, Robert, just before dinner, take him out for ten minutes.

[SPEAKER_04]: God, dad.

[SPEAKER_04]: I just remember feeling that way.

[SPEAKER_18]: He gets his steward voice.

[SPEAKER_18]: And then I would get then I would get elcocacho, you know what that is.

[SPEAKER_18]: What it's my mom's ring finger Oh, and it's in it.

[SPEAKER_18]: It's like a clomus right to the head Sometimes she wouldn't be lucky when she would hit me.

[SPEAKER_18]: Oh, because she beat me all the time and the ring would hit me I'm like ah, and then I get the leash

[SPEAKER_04]: If I didn't remember it, he would call authority.

[SPEAKER_04]: I would have to carry it away.

[SPEAKER_04]: The cook guy should have told me more.

[SPEAKER_06]: I can relate to what your son goes for because I hate that.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's scared of the lights.

[SPEAKER_04]: He says, the fire truck.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I said, hold it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Fire truck on our street.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now keep in mind our street is the pipes that you're having.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you don't expect him to say there's a fire truck on your street Especially because our street is a pipe stem off a courtyard off of a secondary road off of a not very big road

[SPEAKER_04]: I did not, and I said, but there's a fire truck out there.

[SPEAKER_04]: He says, yeah, and another one's pulling up, and the lights are flipping out line.

[SPEAKER_04]: I said, well, let's go see what's happening.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I go outside just in time to see the fireman Tyler's house, directly across the street for us to see him taking out the door with an axe.

[SPEAKER_04]: oh my god and it's actually not the door but the long glass window that's beside the door yes so they take the axe out and wear also they can break in the house that window is gone and they reach and let themselves in so they're all ready they're already busting into a house and you know when the window breaks and you're here

[SPEAKER_04]: it's the spiral on.

[SPEAKER_18]: Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_04]: Really with amazing speed.

[SPEAKER_04]: Everyone in the neighborhood is coming out and standing on the street and looking news.

[SPEAKER_04]: For we knew that the, you know, what's your name, Gladys Cravitz is the house to the right.

[SPEAKER_04]: The one that talks to me through the screen that I hate there.

[SPEAKER_04]: She hanging around.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, she's sitting on her porch and then she's loving it.

[SPEAKER_06]: This is the greatest thing that's ever happened to her.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then the other family that has a young kid named Robert and Robert and Stephanie are their name, they're on the other side and they come out.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I touch base and make sure that the houses on either side of where the firemen are.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're okay.

[SPEAKER_18]: And they're far can easily jump from one town out.

[SPEAKER_04]: So they're contacted.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: So they seem to be, especially with the construction values in that community, you know, where the walls, what is the material tissue made to use?

[SPEAKER_04]: Mike, it is.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is tissue paper.

[SPEAKER_04]: Have you ever seen a movie?

[SPEAKER_04]: Have you ever seen T-house of the August moon about vacations?

[SPEAKER_04]: Now we ask just quickly to the builders and they said would you like to upgrade to construction paper or perhaps posterboard?

[SPEAKER_04]: I said that seems a little What about the paper machine option the paper machine?

[SPEAKER_18]: When I was younger, I grew up in a townhouse and the townhouse next to me, I happen to have Asian neighbors.

[SPEAKER_18]: And this kid, and this kid Yang live there with his family.

[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Yang, it's a parking lot.

[SPEAKER_18]: And and poor Yang knocked on our door one afternoon.

[SPEAKER_18]: It was my brother myself right.

[SPEAKER_04]: He said you can say me He said you don't need to say myself every time I brother in me.

[SPEAKER_04]: That sounds so wrong.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, but it's right myself is wrong.

[SPEAKER_18]: My brother and I are there and perfect and Yan comes over and said there's a fire So we get our garden hose and we actually go in and there is a fire flaming out of his oven inside his house And we're shooting.

[SPEAKER_18]: Oh, but they almost lost all of the ore gone from the from From the little foyer and these townhouses aren't that big into the kitchen

[SPEAKER_18]: But my brother looks at you.

[SPEAKER_18]: He says you're asked.

[SPEAKER_18]: Oh, no, one couldn't put the fire out with a boy.

[SPEAKER_06]: And they can go quickly to have this and go over it.

[SPEAKER_18]: And the fire got so bad.

[SPEAKER_18]: It actually went and crept to the top of the house.

[SPEAKER_18]: It crept into our attic as well.

[SPEAKER_18]: So the fireman had to go in our attic and fight the fire from our attic to Yang's attic.

[SPEAKER_18]: That's very scary.

[SPEAKER_04]: So this is scary.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now even though I am not connected to this strip of townhouses, it's frightening because it's so close.

[SPEAKER_04]: In the time it takes me to get out there, another fire truck pulls up and ambulance the Tahoe or the suburban for the fire department is there.

[SPEAKER_04]: The chief and then a third fire truck.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there is just as they say, as the guy at my sleep study says, this is a chaos.

[SPEAKER_04]: And there are people wanting the streets and we figure out one thing is that no one on the street called in the fire they must have an alarm system because no one saw the fire to call it in.

[SPEAKER_04]: And so the cop, the police got there, I'm sorry, the fireman got there based on their alarm system.

[SPEAKER_04]: At this time the front door opens again five firemen come out in the full yellow slick, you know, fire canvas outfits like they're ready to do back draft and they come out with a five court.

[SPEAKER_04]: Five court cooking pot is smoking like somebody left their box on one left a pot cooking.

[SPEAKER_04]: That was the problem and they and the five fireman took it and put it on the Put it on the edge drive way and just host a day.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, and I looked at the kids and I said you see I told you smoking bought his back So No lesson learned

[SPEAKER_04]: Let me ask you this.

[SPEAKER_04]: But I was pleased that such a small incident got such an amazing problem.

[SPEAKER_04]: Alarm system and set up with a, yeah, there's smoke.

[SPEAKER_06]: Let me.

[SPEAKER_06]: So the idea of the way they went through into the house, right?

[SPEAKER_06]: We, was it, I mean, obviously there are protocols.

[SPEAKER_06]: There are standard procedures.

[SPEAKER_06]: So they choose to break a window to go in the door.

[SPEAKER_06]: to open the door.

[SPEAKER_06]: It's because they're glass on either side of the door.

[SPEAKER_06]: Is that how they did it?

[SPEAKER_04]: No, yeah, it was on the, as you look at the house, on the left side of the door is a long glass window.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, like the height of the door.

[SPEAKER_04]: Cheapers.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's less than a door.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think so, but also before they did that, all the neighbors, they'd message them on Facebook.

[SPEAKER_04]: I love the fact that in this day and age, if your house is on fire, check your personal messages.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because your neighbors trying to get you on Facebook, their phone was off.

[SPEAKER_04]: They were out to dinner and they weren't checking Facebook.

[SPEAKER_04]: Forgive me, I hit a button.

[SPEAKER_04]: There you know, that's good But I mean they had the clean up actually took longer than getting the pot out because they had the hoses out and Every what could have happened if there was no fire truck there if no fire They could have gone into a fire bigger fire and then it could have gone to a different side

[SPEAKER_04]: It was just smoke, but it could have easily become a fire.

[SPEAKER_06]: And now I'll ask him a question that he won't be able to answer because in these neighborhoods, no one knows anyone of the Cummings and goings.

[SPEAKER_06]: You don't.

[SPEAKER_06]: Because that level of impersonality in these neighborhoods.

[SPEAKER_06]: Do you have any idea when the neighbors came back?

[SPEAKER_06]: And whether they talked about it or did you not?

[SPEAKER_04]: The Tyler's parents know no idea.

[SPEAKER_04]: I do know that when I got up the next morning They had taped plastic over the window and That nobody would see never we able to talk to anybody and find it.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, I talk to half a dozen neighbors that night, but I did The neighbors, but I'm talking about the real people I mean, what's everything's done?

[SPEAKER_04]: What am I gonna do get involved?

[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly and that ever would you?

[SPEAKER_04]: Of course, if it was Richards, I bet, but Carl and I would be over at his house.

[SPEAKER_04]: Or what if it was someone they didn't find out?

[SPEAKER_04]: and i go over because she meant she beckons me over and i and i'm right by my kids and i just like to say aw

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, because I've actually made eye contact with Gladys Brown and so I've got to go over there and I said to the kids I say Julia Robert come with me.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is going to be very short the kids.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, I don't like this woman and she said God, this is something, isn't it?

[SPEAKER_04]: And keep in mind for those of you that was your second you over for well Just so you know what this lady is like she is the one that has called my home before and as Carrie is there a phone number I can call where Rob doesn't answer the phone because I don't like talking to them
