<v Speaker 1>Welcome to But I'm a Lesbian, the podcast where we
<v Speaker 1>serve all batty SaaS, queer, film reviews, and everything in between.
<v Speaker 1>Whether you are a baby, gay or.
<v Speaker 2>A clear elder, we're here, We're clear, and we're diving
<v Speaker 2>deep into all things lesbian. We're your hosts, Kaitlin and Angelina.
<v Speaker 2>Get ready for some sapphag serotonin. Okay, this week, well,
<v Speaker 2>we'll see. I think we might have different opinions on
<v Speaker 2>this one, which doesn't happen not often.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe I'm wrong.
<v Speaker 1>I think you might be wrong.
<v Speaker 2>But that's okay, Okay, Well, this week we are discussing, discussing,
<v Speaker 2>not discussing. We are discussing the star studded film Addicted
<v Speaker 2>to Fresnow. This film is directed by Jamie Babbitt, the
<v Speaker 2>same director as one of our faves and our new sake.
<v Speaker 1>But I'm a cheerleader in the films. What did you
<v Speaker 1>just say? But I'm a I know I did that.
<v Speaker 2>On another episode followers. Well, no, I was like, I remember,
<v Speaker 2>but I'm a lesbian when they did this, and I
<v Speaker 2>was like, Angeline was like yeah, AnyWho, so Jamie Babbott,
<v Speaker 2>But I'm a cheerleader so cool. In the film, the
<v Speaker 2>two main characters, played by Natasha Leone and Judy Greer
<v Speaker 2>work at a hotel as housekeepers. When you travel, do
<v Speaker 2>you prefer hotels or airbnbs?
<v Speaker 1>Angelina, I only recently started saying in airbnbs. I think
<v Speaker 1>when I had went to Portland. That was like our
<v Speaker 1>first time saying it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, oh, not in the.
<v Speaker 1>Best area, but you know, we saved money, so I
<v Speaker 1>was trying to, you know, look on the bright side.
<v Speaker 1>But then after that the other when we went to
<v Speaker 1>San Francisco, it was really nice and I enjoyed it,
<v Speaker 1>So I think I'm liking airbnbes a little bit more.
<v Speaker 1>What about you. Have you seen Barbarian? Oh, oh my goodness,
<v Speaker 1>I have it, but I've heard of it, and then
<v Speaker 1>somebody spoiled it for me, so well, don't spoil it
<v Speaker 1>for anyone else. I won't. I was just gonna spoil
<v Speaker 1>it right now.
<v Speaker 2>Actually, I mean it is a little bit old now,
<v Speaker 2>it's like three or four years old, so like people
<v Speaker 2>probably should have seen it, but you haven't seen it,
<v Speaker 2>so other people probably haven't. It's really good. I really
<v Speaker 2>like it, but it starts with an Airbnb type of vibe,
<v Speaker 2>so that's what I think of every.
<v Speaker 1>Time you stay in everyb you think of that.
<v Speaker 2>I don't stay in airbnb. Oh okay, okay. I love hotels,
<v Speaker 2>and I don't know, I don't know if that part
<v Speaker 2>of me is like is that because like I'm older
<v Speaker 2>and I'm like airbnbs are weird because they became a thing, like,
<v Speaker 2>you know, like ten ish years ago, and I was
<v Speaker 2>already an adult and I was like, no, you go
<v Speaker 2>to a hotel?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>Or is it because of my like bouginess of like
<v Speaker 2>I want to like pick like the cute hotel and
<v Speaker 2>I have to bring my dog, which I know there
<v Speaker 2>are airbnbs that are yeah, but I'm like, it's got
<v Speaker 2>to be like a good place for Abby because Abigail
<v Speaker 2>loves to go to hotels. We've never taken Sailor to
<v Speaker 2>a hotel because a lot of hotels have like weight limits.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, but I think.
<v Speaker 2>If she's like a if she's well support animal, she
<v Speaker 2>could go. But we did take Abby to the notts
<v Speaker 2>Berry Farm hotel and it was a no pets one,
<v Speaker 2>but I said that she is my service animal because
<v Speaker 2>you know.
<v Speaker 1>What she is.
<v Speaker 2>I am pretty undiagnosed, but I'm pretty sure I have
<v Speaker 2>this thing called pots where every time I stand up,
<v Speaker 2>I got really dizzy and I almost fall over. And
<v Speaker 2>so I was like, she tells me when I had
<v Speaker 2>this whole story planned in case they asked, because they're
<v Speaker 2>not supposed to ask, but you had a planet like
<v Speaker 2>what she does. I was like, Babe, you have to say,
<v Speaker 2>like you know, da da da, And no they didn't ask.
<v Speaker 2>But it's also easy because she's like a little chihuaha
<v Speaker 2>and nobody cares.
<v Speaker 1>But she loves going to hotel.
<v Speaker 2>She jumps right on the bed as soon as she
<v Speaker 2>gets in there, and she like goes and does the
<v Speaker 2>thing where she scratches at.
<v Speaker 1>The pillows to make it perfect. So freaking cute.
<v Speaker 2>And we went to La last year at some point
<v Speaker 2>when we saw the Yeas and we stayed at this
<v Speaker 2>hotel that was pet friendly and we could literally like
<v Speaker 2>walk to the venue, so that was cool. And they
<v Speaker 2>brought Abby a special bed. I'm like, she's not going
<v Speaker 2>to sleep on that. She's sleeping on the human bed.
<v Speaker 2>But it's really sweet that they came up and we're like,
<v Speaker 2>oh my god, we forgot to give you this. This
<v Speaker 2>is her little like squishy bed, and they give her
<v Speaker 2>like a little tree that's.
<v Speaker 1>So cute, the princess treatment she deserves. Yeah, she's like,
<v Speaker 1>I'm a diva. She is Sailor too, well, they both are.
<v Speaker 2>I know, I know Sailor my pity was attacked by
<v Speaker 2>her kitty siblings this morning, and she was so sad
<v Speaker 2>and scared. I know, she like they got her pretty
<v Speaker 2>good on her face, but and that's never happened. They
<v Speaker 2>love each other. But she ran down the stairs too aggressively,
<v Speaker 2>and I think she scared the baby kitten, so the
<v Speaker 2>reaction was to scratch her and hiss and then her brother,
<v Speaker 2>Atta Kiss came down to protect his baby kitty's sister
<v Speaker 2>and also hissed and scratched at her and then hold on. Yea,
<v Speaker 2>So now she's scared of them, So I hope they
<v Speaker 2>can be friends again, because she was like just shaking
<v Speaker 2>and like like like.
<v Speaker 1>She's like, what did I do? I was just running.
<v Speaker 2>She's like, I was just so excited to go downstairs
<v Speaker 2>and get my breakfast, and then I got to.
<v Speaker 1>See that I get attacked after.
<v Speaker 2>I know, I know she was sick a few days
<v Speaker 2>ago and now she's better, and now she gets attacked anyway,
<v Speaker 2>point being I like to go to hotels. Oh I
<v Speaker 2>wanted to tell you about too bad experiences I had
<v Speaker 2>at airbnb's.
<v Speaker 1>Oh okay, you we're curious. Okay.
<v Speaker 2>Reasons why I don't go Okay, because my dad loves
<v Speaker 2>to stay in airbnb's, and so when we would travel
<v Speaker 2>with my dad, he would get an Airbnb. We went
<v Speaker 2>to Nashville one time and uh, there was only one bedroom.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like he was always trying to save money,
<v Speaker 2>but it was my birthday.
<v Speaker 1>So he let us up, okay.
<v Speaker 2>And then he and his friend were going to sleep
<v Speaker 2>on like in the on the couches and one of
<v Speaker 2>them was a pullout couch. He pulled it out and
<v Speaker 2>it was like all pissed on ew so much p
<v Speaker 2>and so that was gross. So then you have foor
<v Speaker 2>and I call the airbnb hosts and they had a
<v Speaker 2>cleaner come over. The next thing.
<v Speaker 1>It's because well they.
<v Speaker 2>Were like it was a bachelorette party and I'm like, okay,
<v Speaker 2>so somebody was really drunk and like pete on there
<v Speaker 2>and was embarrassed and just like they just yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, oh my god, hoping that no one.
<v Speaker 2>Was which like yeah, their friends didn't notice, probably, But
<v Speaker 2>now the next people did. And then another time we
<v Speaker 2>had an airbnb in in New Orleans and it was
<v Speaker 2>really nice, but it had roaches and and and rats
<v Speaker 2>or mice, which makes sense in a city in a
<v Speaker 2>very old house because like a lot of the houses
<v Speaker 2>in well pretty even in California, but California not as
<v Speaker 2>much as like the South or like the East Coast.
<v Speaker 2>There's like really really old houses, you know, and so
<v Speaker 2>it was interesting. But yeah, I had never seen a
<v Speaker 2>coach in real life before, and I was like, what.
<v Speaker 1>The hell were they really big over there? I mean
<v Speaker 1>it was pretty, it was pretty.
<v Speaker 2>I really only saw one, so maybe they just had broach,
<v Speaker 2>not roaches, but where there's one, I assume there's more.
<v Speaker 2>And I was like freaking out. And I remember, Wow,
<v Speaker 2>my wife was like Catlein, stop screaming, get over it.
<v Speaker 2>It's fine, I'm gonna I'm gonna catch it and move
<v Speaker 2>it outside. And I was freaking out.
<v Speaker 1>So and then the mice or rats.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, like people were hanging out on like the like balcony,
<v Speaker 2>and one just like jumped on the railing and like
<v Speaker 2>walked across.
<v Speaker 1>Going about my day. Yeah, like this is my house.
<v Speaker 2>You guys are just visiting, you guys are staying here,
<v Speaker 2>so yeah, I live here. So anyway, that is a
<v Speaker 2>part of why I'm not the biggest fan of airbnbs.
<v Speaker 1>I mean that makes sense, Barbary.
<v Speaker 2>And also and the two experience, the two experiences that
<v Speaker 2>I had. So I wanted to ask if you have
<v Speaker 2>any hot takes or burning desires you want to share
<v Speaker 2>about this movie.
<v Speaker 1>I did. I wanted there. I think it wasn't a
<v Speaker 1>bad movie, but it's not my favorite, and.
<v Speaker 2>I maybe we have similar opinions. I thought maybe you
<v Speaker 2>were going to be like.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, like it's one of my favorite. Oh no, well
<v Speaker 1>I do love Natasha Leone. Yeah, and I do love
<v Speaker 1>Aubrey Plaza And oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>Isn't there like a little like yes, parents.
<v Speaker 1>And so like there's people that we like in there,
<v Speaker 1>but it's just something about it. I just wish there
<v Speaker 1>were more lesbian things happening.
<v Speaker 2>I know, I know, I mean, I'm like, you know, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I just.
<v Speaker 1>Didn't really like Shannon honestly.
<v Speaker 2>Which one was Shannon the sister Yeah, the sister Rudie
<v Speaker 2>Greer character.
<v Speaker 1>I just didn't really like her, but I mean she.
<v Speaker 2>Wasn't very likable, yeah, to be honest, Yeah, yeah, what
<v Speaker 2>about you hot takes. Well, Okay, maybe this is like
<v Speaker 2>I didn't realize that this happened, so maybe this is
<v Speaker 2>like a trigger warning for the movie. But uh, Shannon
<v Speaker 2>pretends that this guy that she decided to have sex
<v Speaker 2>with is raping her yea, and is like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>he's raping me. And it was really upsetting to me
<v Speaker 2>because uh, I yeah, maybe like this movie's not supposed
<v Speaker 2>to be that serious. But here's the thing, Like I
<v Speaker 2>hate when there are like movies or of like false
<v Speaker 2>allegations because a lot of people, including a lot of
<v Speaker 2>straight men, but some women will go back this too,
<v Speaker 2>will be like, oh, well, people make things up all
<v Speaker 2>the time, like it's probably she's just lying, and that's
<v Speaker 2>very rare that people do make up false allegations, and
<v Speaker 2>when people see it on a movie, they that goes
<v Speaker 2>to back their theory that it happens all the time.
<v Speaker 2>So it really bothered me that she did that, I know,
<v Speaker 2>and it made me and they.
<v Speaker 1>Never clarified and exactly she just let her think back.
<v Speaker 2>So that really made me mad. But also a spoiler alert,
<v Speaker 2>I hate that at the end Shannon turned herself in
<v Speaker 2>because they did so much work to have her get
<v Speaker 2>away with it, and then she called and turned herself in,
<v Speaker 2>and it made me mad. I don't know, do you
<v Speaker 2>think you know?
<v Speaker 1>That's where we I think have different opinions because I
<v Speaker 1>liked that she did that, because I think.
<v Speaker 2>She deserves finally taking accountability.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think so, and she needed to like break away.
<v Speaker 1>Both of them needed to like separate from each other
<v Speaker 1>and like grow on their own. Yeah, and they seem
<v Speaker 1>to be doing better without each other, but then you know,
<v Speaker 1>now they're like talking again and stuff and repairing the relationship.
<v Speaker 1>But that was definitely but I do agree because they
<v Speaker 1>did all that, like they robbed the bar mitzvah, they
<v Speaker 1>robbed the sex shop, they did all these things to like, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>To help her get away with it, and then she
<v Speaker 2>ended up turning yourself in any way, So I was like, girl,
<v Speaker 2>you should have done that in the beginning.
<v Speaker 1>But then that.
<v Speaker 2>Wouldn't be a movie, right, We're like, whatever, Okay, do
<v Speaker 2>you have anything else you wanted to share before we
<v Speaker 2>go to our break?
<v Speaker 1>No other than there should have been more lesbian things.
<v Speaker 2>Honestly, yeah, yeah, like yeah.
<v Speaker 1>It was like I know, Kelly and Martha and stuff,
<v Speaker 1>but like you know, yeah, I just wanted to focus
<v Speaker 1>on them a little bit more. But I get it
<v Speaker 1>was about like the two sisters and stuff.
<v Speaker 2>I know, It's just I think also because Jamie Babbitt
<v Speaker 2>directed it, it was like it was at the time,
<v Speaker 2>especially like I saw so much like, oh my gosh,
<v Speaker 2>Natasha Leone and Jamie babbittt are making another lesbian movie.
<v Speaker 2>Like it was like, so I thought that it was
<v Speaker 2>going to be like the main point of it, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>but it was more it was more like Fancy Dance
<v Speaker 2>where it's like she just happens to be gay and
<v Speaker 2>there is like I mean, there was a little more
<v Speaker 2>gay stuff, but it wasn't the main storyline. And I
<v Speaker 2>kind of like it when it is the main storyline.
<v Speaker 2>I know. I was like, she's gay now, like they're
<v Speaker 2>gonna get together. What it's about, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>So well, we hate when there's real life things have
<v Speaker 1>I mean, we wanted.
<v Speaker 2>To only be get Yes, it's because I guess I
<v Speaker 2>just have to be like in the like ready for it,
<v Speaker 2>because I went into it thinking it was just mainly
<v Speaker 2>about her being gay and it wasn't.
<v Speaker 1>I thought the same thing. So that's why I was disappointed.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, So We're gonna take a quick break now, and
<v Speaker 2>when we get back we'll get into the recap. Try
<v Speaker 2>not to slip into a gay panic moment while we're gone.
<v Speaker 2>Welcome back to but I'm a lesbian. This week we
<v Speaker 2>are discussing addicted to Fresno. Okay, first off, I think
<v Speaker 2>we should tell people that have you been to Fresno.
<v Speaker 1>I have been to Fresno, but not like to stay
<v Speaker 1>and visit, just like passing through.
<v Speaker 2>I just feel like it's important for people that don't
<v Speaker 2>live in California to know to know more about President.
<v Speaker 2>I don't Fresno is like bad, but people talk a
<v Speaker 2>lot of shit about Fresnel, like du Fresne and Bakersfield.
<v Speaker 2>I din't confused.
<v Speaker 1>That's a problem.
<v Speaker 2>I'm always like, oh, wait, are you You're from Fresno, right,
<v Speaker 2>and the person will be like Bakersfield, and I like, back,
<v Speaker 2>You're like, But it's because people from like where we
<v Speaker 2>live and also like big cities of California. Yeah, I
<v Speaker 2>love to talk shit about Fresne and Bakersfield.
<v Speaker 1>Like they're like Fresno and Bakersfield are like the shitholes
<v Speaker 1>of California. Like that's what the consensus is with everybody
<v Speaker 1>that I've talked to, and I'm like, I mean, you know,
<v Speaker 1>I'm pretty sure a lot of people like living there.
<v Speaker 2>I Mean, here's the thing. It's so cheap to live
<v Speaker 2>there in comparison to most places in California. Like if
<v Speaker 2>I could work fully remote, I would move to Fresne
<v Speaker 2>or Bakersfield, and I would have a nice ass house,
<v Speaker 2>you know, and I'd be like, that's fine and just.
<v Speaker 1>Deal with the heat. That's it. Oh well, I.
<v Speaker 2>Could afford to have my hair exactly. But the other
<v Speaker 2>thing is for us, or at least for me, because
<v Speaker 2>this is like we live in like a small town
<v Speaker 2>with a lot of small towns around us, Like we're
<v Speaker 2>not close to a city. So there have been times
<v Speaker 2>when like there is a band playing, or there's a
<v Speaker 2>restaurant in Fresno or Bakersfield where we go there from here.
<v Speaker 2>So I'm always like, people talk so much about these places,
<v Speaker 2>but like they actually get like because it's a bigger
<v Speaker 2>like city in comparison to where we live, Like they
<v Speaker 2>have more stuff, they have more vegan restaurants. There's a
<v Speaker 2>vegger restaurant in Fresno called plants Layre. We went we
<v Speaker 2>went to Fresno to see Peso Pluma.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and we stated a terrifying hotel.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, that's where.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, my wife is not allowed to pick the
<v Speaker 2>hotel anymore because the hotel that she picked it was
<v Speaker 2>a very good location. It was right across the street
<v Speaker 2>from the venue, so that was cool. And it was
<v Speaker 2>called University Hotel or something, so I don't know, it
<v Speaker 2>sounds fancy, like rich college to stay here. No, it
<v Speaker 2>was not nice. It was when my wife's brother and
<v Speaker 2>his girlfriend stayed at a nicer hotel and when they
<v Speaker 2>took their uber over, the guy was like, oh, why
<v Speaker 2>are you going over there? That's where all the not.
<v Speaker 1>Nice word for sex workers work at.
<v Speaker 2>So he was saying, there's not a great reputation about
<v Speaker 2>this place. And I was scared to leave Abby there
<v Speaker 2>because I brought Abby and I was like, we can't
<v Speaker 2>leave brother. I mean, she was fine. I'm like, nobody
<v Speaker 2>wants to like steal a little twelve year old chiuoa.
<v Speaker 2>I was gonna like sleep because yeah, she didn't mind,
<v Speaker 2>she just slept. But I was like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>it was it was not nice. But anyway, there's a
<v Speaker 2>place called plants Layer there is a really good vegan restaurant.
<v Speaker 2>They're actually having a special for Valentine's Day that I
<v Speaker 2>wish I could go to. But I'm doing other stuff
<v Speaker 2>on Valente. I was gonna say, I'm actually working on
<v Speaker 2>Valentine's Day. But they're doing like cause it's a it's
<v Speaker 2>like a more like a lunch vibe, like a burgers
<v Speaker 2>and like sandwiches, but they're doing like a fancy like
<v Speaker 2>vegan steak and potatoes and like cheesecake thing like at
<v Speaker 2>night plants layer for Valentine's Day. Anyway, I think that
<v Speaker 2>cool stuff in Fresno, but I know that people that
<v Speaker 2>are from Fresno probably talk shit about it, and people
<v Speaker 2>that are not from Fresno also talks about it. It's
<v Speaker 2>really hot there. That's the worst part I see.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I would say so the worst part is the heat,
<v Speaker 1>for sure, That's what I hear.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and like living in Vegas but less cool because it's.
<v Speaker 1>Tiny, Yeah, exactly.
<v Speaker 2>Anyway, I just really felt like they needed to address
<v Speaker 2>what to me was an elephant in the room. Well,
<v Speaker 2>I was like, we need to talk about Presno.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I feel like that's valid because in this
<v Speaker 1>movie they talk about Fresno. Literally all the characters minus Martha.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think she doesn't She's everybody is like, fuck Fresno.
<v Speaker 1>I hate Fresley. Yeah, got to get out of so
<v Speaker 1>you had to share. Yeah you had Fresno for a second.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I know.
<v Speaker 1>It's like Baker's Field. I know.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, then we throw Baker's Field in there?
<v Speaker 1>What what was the name of Honey? Don't that they
<v Speaker 1>were going to share bakers Build?
<v Speaker 2>Actually yeah, but it was supposed to be bakers Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So I don't know what it is with a lesbian
<v Speaker 2>movies pick like picking Town.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't know representation. Okay, they're like lesbians are here.
<v Speaker 2>I think they're like rich people making the movies, and
<v Speaker 2>they're like, where do poor people live? Bakersfield? Like they're like,
<v Speaker 2>people don't like that place. I don't know anyway, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>tell them the story.
<v Speaker 1>You're okay. So the movie begins with two sisters heading
<v Speaker 1>into work. They are housekeepers and side note, Kiln and
<v Speaker 1>I wanted to dress. We said that we wanted to
<v Speaker 1>dress similar. Yeah, I don't.
<v Speaker 2>They had like polo shirt and I was like, oh man,
<v Speaker 2>I wish I still had a polo Shark my own job,
<v Speaker 2>but I think I think my wife has a polo shirt.
<v Speaker 2>But okay, here's the thing this is. You know when
<v Speaker 2>people say, like, oh, lesbians, you get like double the clothes,
<v Speaker 2>you double your wardrobe. Okay, not if you're femine mask
<v Speaker 2>because she's not gonna wear this dress that I'm wearing.
<v Speaker 2>She would never wear that, and I don't really. I
<v Speaker 2>mean I'll wear her stuff to like hang out around
<v Speaker 2>the house or like on like a like a fun
<v Speaker 2>day where I'm not doing anything. But I wouldn't wear
<v Speaker 2>her polo because she doesn't get like the cute fitted
<v Speaker 2>girl once, like like the women's polos because I'm like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>they go edit the we my boob's like big. She
<v Speaker 2>she's once the opposite, so she gets like the men's
<v Speaker 2>polos so that they're loose. Anyway, So I didn't want
<v Speaker 2>to wear her polo because it wasn't my vibe.
<v Speaker 1>You know, I did have an option, just not the
<v Speaker 1>one I want. Yeah, So Shannon, one of the sisters
<v Speaker 1>is off putting. That is Judy Greer. I I feel
<v Speaker 1>like she's off putting, yeah, and she's kind of a bitch.
<v Speaker 1>So meanwhile, Martha Natasha Leone is nice and she seems
<v Speaker 1>really sweet. So the receptionist, Kristen recognizes Shannon and she
<v Speaker 1>tells her that Shannon's like being so rude to her,
<v Speaker 1>and she's like, aren't you supposed to be or Kristen
<v Speaker 1>tells Shannon, aren't you supposed to be like at your
<v Speaker 1>teaching job and stuff, And Shannon's like, no, I got
<v Speaker 1>fired because I had sex with everybody. And then she
<v Speaker 1>had sex in a public place and there were children there. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and so now she's a registered sex offender. Yeah. And
<v Speaker 1>then she also slept with Kristen's husband.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Then she's like, by the way, I sucked your
<v Speaker 2>husband stick in high school yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Something when you were supposed to be together. Yeah, and
<v Speaker 1>so Kristen's just like what and I'm like this yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and so then Martha just doesn't say anything. So they
<v Speaker 1>go to clock in for work and they're cleaning rooms
<v Speaker 1>and Shannon complains literally the entire time, while Martha is
<v Speaker 1>trying to over the ropes. Yeah, and you can tell
<v Speaker 1>Martha's like trying her best. I feel like like she's
<v Speaker 1>very patient. Yeah, she's very understanding, and she's obviously their sisters.
<v Speaker 1>So they have like that banter you know, and like
<v Speaker 1>they kind of get on each other's nerves, but like
<v Speaker 1>Martha's just so like patient. Honestly, I'd be done.
<v Speaker 2>I'd be like no, I'd be like, whatever, bitch, I
<v Speaker 2>got you a job.
<v Speaker 1>I'd be like, go, you can't clean a room? Really,
<v Speaker 1>just kidding, I need, I.
<v Speaker 2>Mean to be fair, I hate cleaning. So I would
<v Speaker 2>probably be Shannon. I would be like, oh, we had
<v Speaker 2>to make the bed. I even make my own bed.
<v Speaker 2>But I feel like she should be grateful because she
<v Speaker 2>is going to have a hard time finding a job
<v Speaker 2>anywhere else because she's a register.
<v Speaker 1>Register's sex offender exactly.
<v Speaker 2>Really came in clutch and helped her, and she's being
<v Speaker 2>a bitch.
<v Speaker 3>I know.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, there's not many jobs. Yeah, And their boss,
<v Speaker 1>Martha's like, you're lucky. He doesn't really know what a
<v Speaker 1>registered sex offender.
<v Speaker 2>Because she's so rude because the boss I think has
<v Speaker 2>down syndrome and she's like, that's our boss, and she's
<v Speaker 2>so like rude about it.
<v Speaker 1>And Martha was like, yeah, he's been here, like he's
<v Speaker 1>been doing this for a while, and you're lucky that
<v Speaker 1>he even like hired you for this.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. So she's like, oh, what did she say he
<v Speaker 2>thinks of registered sex offender?
<v Speaker 1>Is it means like fighting something, like it was like
<v Speaker 1>something fighting something against sex crimes. Yeah, like fighting them
<v Speaker 1>instead of like being yeah, like oh no, so that's
<v Speaker 1>why she got that. So after work, they go to
<v Speaker 1>a bar on wine and Martha asked about Shannon's time
<v Speaker 1>at rehab because she just got out, and Shannon's like,
<v Speaker 1>the last few weeks were private, like this is just
<v Speaker 1>for me, like I don't want to talk about it,
<v Speaker 1>and Martha's like, okay, well, like do you feel like
<v Speaker 1>you're getting better because obviously Shannon is a sex addict,
<v Speaker 1>you know.
<v Speaker 2>And like, yeah, that's that is been rehab for yeah,
<v Speaker 2>because at first I was like they're in a bar
<v Speaker 2>and she was in rehab, and then I'm like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>well they obviously she fucked everybody, so that's what they
<v Speaker 2>were trying to tell us.
<v Speaker 1>It was a sex addiction, yeah, and not like alcohol. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and so yeah, so Martha is just like, well, you know,
<v Speaker 1>that's the first you know, she's being encouraging, and then
<v Speaker 1>Shannon asks about her girlfriend Alicia, and Martha's like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>we broke up, like we needed some time, and Shannon's
<v Speaker 1>like well, she's a loser, and she like, you know,
<v Speaker 1>I'm glad you guys aren't together.
<v Speaker 2>Didn't she say she's straight? Yeah, she's a bored straight
<v Speaker 2>girl or something.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, She's like, she she's straight. She doesn't really like you.
<v Speaker 1>Marca's just like, stop, that's not true. Okay.
<v Speaker 2>But this is also the sad thing about kind of
<v Speaker 2>small towns because she probably runs into yeah, not there's
<v Speaker 2>not a lot of lesbians. So she's like, oh, this
<v Speaker 2>girl says she wants to.
<v Speaker 1>She has no option. That's really yeah, so I mean
<v Speaker 1>she has to. And she seems to really like Alicia anyway. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>she's like she's pretty. So while they're there, I know,
<v Speaker 1>she's like, no, that's not true, Like, don't talk about Alicia,
<v Speaker 1>Like we just needed some time. Yeah. So while they're
<v Speaker 1>at the bar, Shannon gets a text from a guy
<v Speaker 1>named Edwin and they head home, and so Martha is
<v Speaker 1>going out to her little gym class and Shannon's like
<v Speaker 1>waiting for her to leave so she can sneak over.
<v Speaker 1>And it turns out that is her neighbor, Edwin, and
<v Speaker 1>he was her therapist while she was in rehab.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, what a fucking dick that was so mad, like,
<v Speaker 2>this is why I don't trust men, because.
<v Speaker 1>They shouldn't even have had a job there in.
<v Speaker 2>The first place, because obviously he's a creepy weirdo. And
<v Speaker 2>then he's supposed to be helping people, and it's then
<v Speaker 2>he is just feeding into their addiction because he's.
<v Speaker 1>Like he's like, I'm gonna have sex with her. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>she's the reason why or he's the reason why she
<v Speaker 1>gets kicked out early. Yeah, are you okay?
<v Speaker 2>Face?
<v Speaker 1>Okay?
<v Speaker 2>I was like, oh, I haven't do you need to leave?
<v Speaker 1>Do you need to leave?
<v Speaker 4>Uh?
<v Speaker 1>So, yes, he's the reason that she gets kicked out
<v Speaker 1>of rehab early, and then he forges her release papers
<v Speaker 1>because Martha would literally lose her shit if she found
<v Speaker 1>out that that's the reason why Shannon, you know, had
<v Speaker 1>to leave. She comes to Shannon graduated, yeah, from rehab,
<v Speaker 1>which is not true, and obviously and he's a piece
<v Speaker 1>of shit too because he's cheated on his wife. I
<v Speaker 1>was like, also he's married.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>He's like, I forgot it's date night. I can't have
<v Speaker 1>sex with you. And she's like, okay. He's like, you know,
<v Speaker 1>as your therapist, you should go to a meeting, and
<v Speaker 1>she's like, well, your meetings are a really good place
<v Speaker 1>to like fuck people, and he's like, fine, I'll like
<v Speaker 1>have sex with you really quick.
<v Speaker 2>He's like, oh, I only have like ten minutes, so
<v Speaker 2>I'll fuck you in the car real quick. I know,
<v Speaker 2>I was really annoyed by the whole situation. I don't
<v Speaker 2>like Shannon, but I know I don't like men even more,
<v Speaker 2>and I feel like she was really really like taking advantage.
<v Speaker 2>She sup like, no matter how hard she comes on
<v Speaker 2>to you, you're in the position where you are supposed
<v Speaker 2>to be her doctor. That's really fucked up. Also, do
<v Speaker 2>you remember on the L Word, Helena was having an
<v Speaker 2>affair with her therapist, Yes, and.
<v Speaker 1>Then didn't her therapist tried to get like like sue
<v Speaker 1>her or restraining order or something because she was like,
<v Speaker 1>you tricked me, like you like seduced me.
<v Speaker 2>Probably because I know that then Dylan sued her or whatever.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, he's gonna looked bad that she had like two
<v Speaker 1>people that she seduced and like they said, coerced man.
<v Speaker 2>Helena is just very hot and beautiful. She can't help
<v Speaker 2>it that everybody wants to it there.
<v Speaker 1>I know, like for her, I mean, you know, with
<v Speaker 1>Dylan I that is different, but like the therapist again too,
<v Speaker 1>like what you know?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, well, and then we find out Dylan was gay,
<v Speaker 2>because remember she tried to be like I wasn't gay.
<v Speaker 2>I just did this for the money. And then like
<v Speaker 2>like okay, virus, we see her come back and she
<v Speaker 2>is a lesbian and yeah, like we knew that. Also,
<v Speaker 2>the person that played Dylan in The L Word is
<v Speaker 2>married to Jodie Foster in real life, in case any
<v Speaker 2>lesbians or people listening don't know that.
<v Speaker 1>I thought it was really cool.
<v Speaker 2>She's like cool, she's an actual gay and she's married too,
<v Speaker 2>like a queen of the case.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, I was waiting to see what you're gonna say.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, unless.
<v Speaker 1>So at the gym, Martha works out and her kravma. God, teacher,
<v Speaker 1>didn't you say what I did?
<v Speaker 2>No, my wife did. Oh my god, she's gonna be
<v Speaker 2>so mad at me. Moy thai okay, yeah, and she
<v Speaker 2>wants to start doing muy thai again. There's like a
<v Speaker 2>gym sort of clothes, and I think she should. She
<v Speaker 2>was waiting until she got her braces off so that
<v Speaker 2>if she got hit in the face, like scratch her up.
<v Speaker 2>And then I think she has to wear her like
<v Speaker 2>retainers all day for like a few more months. But
<v Speaker 2>then after that, I think she can do it. But yeah,
<v Speaker 2>she did like she did like actual fights. I saw
<v Speaker 2>like like a DVD of it.
<v Speaker 1>Wow. Why hope she gets back into it. I know,
<v Speaker 1>so cool. But also I don't want her to get hurt.
<v Speaker 2>I know.
<v Speaker 1>But if you said, you know, she can handle herself,
<v Speaker 1>She's got this. She's going to be the queen. I
<v Speaker 1>want to say, I know, but I wanted to say,
<v Speaker 1>kramm God. Like it literally was like no, yahma God, No,
<v Speaker 1>I'm making Wa just the queen of like all.
<v Speaker 2>The other things she does.
<v Speaker 1>All of that. She doesn't even know that she does.
<v Speaker 1>Kram God. She's like I do.
<v Speaker 2>I was gonna say something really important about muy Thai,
<v Speaker 2>but I forgot it, so never mind. Oh but when
<v Speaker 2>we went to Thailand, that was a big part of
<v Speaker 2>why we wanted to go, because she loved moy Thai
<v Speaker 2>and so we got to go see amy Thai fight.
<v Speaker 2>And I lied, I did see cockroaches in real life
<v Speaker 2>before New Orleans, because there were cockroaches on the ground
<v Speaker 2>and I was like had my feet up the whole time.
<v Speaker 2>I was afraid, and again she was like stopping dramatic,
<v Speaker 2>and I was like.
<v Speaker 1>They're gonna crawl on my feet, you know, I don't
<v Speaker 1>want want me.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, but there were kids, because they start like kids
<v Speaker 2>really young with like you know, different sports.
<v Speaker 1>So there were kids fighting and I was like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>I said she met the cockroaches. I was like the baby,
<v Speaker 1>I was like crouches. I was like, oh, they said
<v Speaker 1>them really young.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, yeah, they were born, it's what they do.
<v Speaker 1>That's cute.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, Okay, krap Maga, I don't know that much about it.
<v Speaker 2>I know that jiu jitsu is a lot of on
<v Speaker 2>the groundness. Yeah that's what I know because I saw
<v Speaker 2>a TikTok where they were like when you get attacked
<v Speaker 2>and all you know is Brazilian jiu jitsu and it's
<v Speaker 2>like getting on the ground whatever. Anyway, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe krap Ma guy is like my tie where it
<v Speaker 2>involves both. I don't okay, I need to look it up.
<v Speaker 1>Like she was boxing and then they were doing like
<v Speaker 1>regular exercises. But other than that, I didn't see anything else,
<v Speaker 1>so I can't for sure say exactly what it is.
<v Speaker 2>They probably didn't like train them in actual crap ma go.
<v Speaker 2>So they were just like I know, right, just like punch.
<v Speaker 1>Well because there were there were there was a kid
<v Speaker 1>in that class, yes, yea, so maybe it was like
<v Speaker 1>a beginner.
<v Speaker 2>Also, we were watching it and my wife was like,
<v Speaker 2>oh my god, a little bitch lesbian. And then she's like, oh, it's.
<v Speaker 1>Just a boy. I thought that the one time when
<v Speaker 1>we went to go eat somewhere and I was like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god, yeah, may look. I'm like, it's it's
<v Speaker 1>a butch lesbian and she's like, no, it's just a
<v Speaker 1>teenage boy. I was like, are you sure sure. She's
<v Speaker 1>like yes, and I was like, okay, I'll believe you.
<v Speaker 1>But I'm very I feel like it's a butch lesbian.
<v Speaker 2>This is why I like Justin Bieber so much when
<v Speaker 2>he first came out, like on the scene, because I
<v Speaker 2>was like, he looks like a really cute butch lesbian
<v Speaker 2>and I love it. But also one more funny story
<v Speaker 2>about boys looking like lesbians. I used to have this
<v Speaker 2>roommate and he was like kind of short and had
<v Speaker 2>like a very he had like very like soft round
<v Speaker 2>features because he was like a little chunky and short,
<v Speaker 2>kind of like that boy in the yeah, and he
<v Speaker 2>one time he when I was first dating who, he
<v Speaker 2>was like, hey, you from right and she's like yeah,
<v Speaker 2>and he's like, do you know a girl a lesbian
<v Speaker 2>named chantal or like Chantelle or yeah, Chantelle. And she's like, uh, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I know of her. He's like yeah, people say it
<v Speaker 2>look like her. People like I go places and they're like, hey, Chantelle.
<v Speaker 1>I know that.
<v Speaker 2>I've never seen Chantelle, but I apparently I know what
<v Speaker 2>she looks like, apparently because she looks like my old
<v Speaker 2>roommate Lucas.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god, that's so so funny.
<v Speaker 2>Oh. I was like, oh my god, it's true, you
<v Speaker 2>kind of do look like her.
<v Speaker 1>Oh She's like, I can't lie, you.
<v Speaker 2>Didn't do That's yeah, so funny. But I like that
<v Speaker 2>he wasn't offended by It's.
<v Speaker 1>Just my look alike twin.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know anyway, So sorry, kram God, there's a
<v Speaker 2>little boy in the class.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, okay, lesbian, that's all you need to know about.
<v Speaker 1>So Martha's working out in her Krapma God teacher Kelly,
<v Speaker 1>which is aby Plaza. She's like staring at her in
<v Speaker 1>a very lesbian way. Yeah, she's like checking her out
<v Speaker 1>while she's like working out, but she's not being like creepy.
<v Speaker 1>She's just like okay, like you know, as she's like
<v Speaker 1>helping the other people and so well, I mean, I
<v Speaker 1>don't think it's creepy because it's not just like straight
<v Speaker 1>up like if it wasn't be biased because that's like
<v Speaker 1>another woman. But if we're a man, i'd be like, ill,
<v Speaker 1>what are you looking at?
<v Speaker 2>No, But I feel like it wasn't too creepy. It
<v Speaker 2>wasn't like leering. It was you know, she like like
<v Speaker 2>looked and made a point to show her looking at her,
<v Speaker 2>so that we know that like she kind of interested.
<v Speaker 1>In yeah, exactly. So after class, Kelly talks to Martha
<v Speaker 1>and she's like, you're doing really good, and Martha asks, literally,
<v Speaker 1>she's like, have you seen Alicia? And she's like because
<v Speaker 1>usually she works out at this time and like all
<v Speaker 1>this other stuff and she's going all about Alesha and
<v Speaker 1>Kelly's like, no, I haven't seen her, but we should
<v Speaker 1>like get some tay food and go for beer, like
<v Speaker 1>get some beers and stuff. And then Martha's like, no,
<v Speaker 1>I can't because my sister just got out of rehab
<v Speaker 1>and she's super vulnerable right now and I'm like she's
<v Speaker 1>just throwing her business out there and Kelly's like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry, like you know that sucks, and so oh,
<v Speaker 1>I feel like Martha's a little oblivious because Kelly's like
<v Speaker 1>white thing, like she's flirting with her. She literally asked
<v Speaker 1>her out, and Martha's just like she's suck on Alicia Distractgery.
<v Speaker 2>It's like she's too I don't know. I know this
<v Speaker 2>happens to a lot of lesbians, but like it's just
<v Speaker 2>so annoying, you know. Like I used to know that
<v Speaker 2>girl with the pokadp pants. She always dated straight girls.
<v Speaker 2>I think I talked about her another episode she would.
<v Speaker 1>They like would go for the straight girls only.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, And I'm like, I feel like it's like it's like,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. I think there are different reasons. Part
<v Speaker 2>of it is like a like a conquest thing, like oh,
<v Speaker 2>I can turn this straight girl. But I think another
<v Speaker 2>part of it is like maybe this like avoidant attachment
<v Speaker 2>style thing going on, like well she's straight, so it
<v Speaker 2>won't really like turn into anything maybe, or like it's
<v Speaker 2>like a masochistic thing where it's like I really do
<v Speaker 2>want her, but I know she's probably gonna leave me.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>There's a lot of things go into it, but yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's really annoying that Martha is like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>where's Alicia when this beautiful woman is and that's actually gay,
<v Speaker 2>is like obviously trying to like ask her out, and
<v Speaker 2>she's just like.
<v Speaker 1>Oh no, I'm busy. She's like, no, I can't have
<v Speaker 1>to be there for my sister, which is like they're
<v Speaker 1>very co dependent on each other. Yeah, and Martha like
<v Speaker 1>basically does everything for.
<v Speaker 2>Shannon, and yeah, she is very much like isn't she
<v Speaker 2>the younger sister, but Marty is the young seem like
<v Speaker 2>the older sister, Like she's very much like the caregiver.
<v Speaker 1>And Shannon's just like I don't give a fuck about anything. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>So okay, Yeah, the next day I was like gonna repeat. No,
<v Speaker 1>I was gonna literally repeat the entire gym, so the
<v Speaker 1>propagad teacher. The next day, they head to work and
<v Speaker 1>they ride in an elevator with the creepy dude. He's
<v Speaker 1>like really creepy. He's just like, oh hey, ladies, and
<v Speaker 1>Martha's like stinky.
<v Speaker 2>I just decided he was thinky. I don't know that
<v Speaker 2>they said he was thinky.
<v Speaker 1>The guy that I say this, yeah, where he like
<v Speaker 1>hangs the condoms in the like uh over the shower, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>over the shower. And that's how Martha knows that he
<v Speaker 1>reuses them so they can dry out and yes, because yeah,
<v Speaker 1>they go down and Martha's just like, no, Shannon, I'm
<v Speaker 1>telling you, this guy is disgusting, like he always has
<v Speaker 1>women in there, like he has sex workers in there,
<v Speaker 1>and he reuses condoms and he's just nasty. Like I
<v Speaker 1>don't want to clean his room. We're not doing it.
<v Speaker 1>And so then Shannon's just like okay. I think she's
<v Speaker 1>just like, well they have to eat too, so like
<v Speaker 1>she's like, I don't know, but he's just creepy. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So and she's probably thinking like, oh, he fucks a
<v Speaker 2>lot of people, maybe we can have sex.
<v Speaker 1>And I feel like Martha told her like no, you
<v Speaker 1>like he's creepy, you know, without saying like, don't have
<v Speaker 1>sex with him.
<v Speaker 2>So she is She's like mourning, you.
<v Speaker 1>Girl, no, you do not want this dude. And so
<v Speaker 1>while Shannon is cleaning the rooms, she is like sending
<v Speaker 1>pictures to Edwin and then he calls her and he's
<v Speaker 1>just like, oh my God, I have to tell you something.
<v Speaker 1>I told my wife everything and I'm leaving her and
<v Speaker 1>she did not take it. Well, But like you and
<v Speaker 1>I are going to be a real couple because I'm
<v Speaker 1>in love with you.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what makes him think she wants that,
<v Speaker 2>because I feel like the because she say.
<v Speaker 1>That, yes, well the reason why well no, See, the
<v Speaker 1>thing is that Shannon was like, what the fuck? Why
<v Speaker 1>would you do that? And he's like, what do you
<v Speaker 1>mean why would I do that? You always tell me
<v Speaker 1>like you should leave your wife for me, And she's like, no,
<v Speaker 1>that's just something I say. I don't actually mean it.
<v Speaker 1>I say that. She's like, no, what the fuck are
<v Speaker 1>you doing? Like why don't you tell her like take
<v Speaker 1>her back or something? And he's like, no, I don't
<v Speaker 1>want to do that, and so she's like I just
<v Speaker 1>can't take this kind of pressure and she hangs up
<v Speaker 1>and he's like, oh my god, And that's exactly what
<v Speaker 1>he deserves because he is a discussing person. Yeah, So
<v Speaker 1>as soon as she leaves the room, she is like
<v Speaker 1>obviously in this like heightened state, and she sees the
<v Speaker 1>creepy guy and she's just like, do you want to fuck?
<v Speaker 1>And then they start having sex and I'm like, oh god, girl,
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god, it's so nasty. And as they have sex,
<v Speaker 1>Martha calls Alicia and she's like leaving her those long
<v Speaker 1>voicemail because she's like, I know you don't want to
<v Speaker 1>talk to me, but like, you know, maybe we could,
<v Speaker 1>I know. So after she's done leaving the voicemail, she
<v Speaker 1>hears noises and she's like Shannon, and she's like walking
<v Speaker 1>around outside and she knocks on the door and she's
<v Speaker 1>like housekeeping, and nobody answers, so she uses her little
<v Speaker 1>housekeeping card. She walks in and she sees Shannon and
<v Speaker 1>the guy having sex. But Shannon's like fire, which is
<v Speaker 1>in reference to a conversation that they had earlier where
<v Speaker 1>Martha told her if you're ever being raped, you should
<v Speaker 1>yell fire. So she thinks that Shannon is being raped,
<v Speaker 1>and she's like yelling at the guy, and Shannon's also
<v Speaker 1>yelling at the guy, saying like you know, you're discussing,
<v Speaker 1>like fuck you, and there's just like this whole thing,
<v Speaker 1>and so Shannon slaps him and pushes him into the
<v Speaker 1>bathroom and he falls and he breaks his neck and
<v Speaker 1>he dies.
<v Speaker 2>Literally, I am so scared of like ever accidentally killing
<v Speaker 2>someone because of movies like this, Like it's like makes
<v Speaker 2>it seem it's like so easy, like they always like
<v Speaker 2>hit their head on the corner of something, you know, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>like it's just just right.
<v Speaker 1>And it's like, yeah, they're dead instantly, so crazy.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, oh my god, I don't don't touch me.
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to accidentally kill you. Like it's scary
<v Speaker 2>because it did anything.
<v Speaker 1>She like hit him, like we don't even see it,
<v Speaker 1>like she hit him and then she pushes him and
<v Speaker 1>I don't even think that hard, but I think he
<v Speaker 1>like hits it on the corner of like the bathroom sink.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, well it makes me think of Fried Green Tomatoes
<v Speaker 2>because Sipsy hits the guy with like the pan or whatever,
<v Speaker 2>and then he dies. Like I don't know, it seems
<v Speaker 2>like you wouldn't die from like one hit, but I
<v Speaker 2>guess if.
<v Speaker 1>It's like maybe a lot of heavier really.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, probably they were like the cast I exactly, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>and you know he dies.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, he dies, and Shannon and Martha are like, holy fuck,
<v Speaker 1>he's dead. What the fuck did you do? And then
<v Speaker 1>Martha's like okay, well, like are you sure like he
<v Speaker 1>was raping you, right, And Shannon's like, yes, like he
<v Speaker 1>was totally raping me, like absolutely. She's obviously like oh
<v Speaker 1>my god, what did I do? And so Martha's like, okay, well,
<v Speaker 1>if obviously it was raped, let me call the friend desk.
<v Speaker 1>We can call the police explain it like it that's
<v Speaker 1>what it is. And so obviously Shannon's like, no, what
<v Speaker 1>do you mean, Like I'm a registered sex offender. That's
<v Speaker 1>not gonna go well for me. And so she convinces
<v Speaker 1>Martha not to call the police or anybody, but Kristen overhears.
<v Speaker 1>She doesn't hear anything, but she hears like commotion. So
<v Speaker 1>she comes over and she's like, I'm calling Jerry, our boss.
<v Speaker 1>So they quickly have to get the body and like
<v Speaker 1>take him to this empty suite and they like look
<v Speaker 1>through his stuff and they find out his name is
<v Speaker 1>Boris Yes, and he was an Olympic gold medalist.
<v Speaker 2>Or bron ron, which makes sense because when they were
<v Speaker 2>starting to have sex, he was like he was like
<v Speaker 2>what did he say? He said, call me champ and
<v Speaker 2>make you come so hard you come out here.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah.
<v Speaker 2>And then when they showed that he had like a
<v Speaker 2>medal I'm like, oh, that's why he wants them to
<v Speaker 2>call him like.
<v Speaker 1>Cham oh my god. And so they're going through things
<v Speaker 1>and they're like, okay, you know, maybe they're like he
<v Speaker 1>lives here in Fresno, but maybe he doesn't have anybody.
<v Speaker 1>And then they get a phone call and they're like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god, what do we do? So they pretend
<v Speaker 1>to be a voicemail.
<v Speaker 2>Recording and was so obvious you have reached the voicemail
<v Speaker 2>of Morris.
<v Speaker 1>And then they couldn't even say his I don't know
<v Speaker 1>it was last name, but they couldn't say it right.
<v Speaker 1>But the sister believes go for it. So they learned
<v Speaker 1>that he has a sister, and the sister's like, where
<v Speaker 1>are you. You're supposed to be here at Dead's birthday party.
<v Speaker 1>You need to help me change their diapers. So they're like,
<v Speaker 1>oh shit, he needs to be there. She's like if
<v Speaker 1>you're not there, I'm coming to get you at three
<v Speaker 1>because she knows that he has sex with a lot
<v Speaker 1>of women and the hotel that he goes to. So
<v Speaker 1>they're like, holy fuck, we have to do something. So
<v Speaker 1>they decide to drive his car and go meet the sister. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and Shannon pretends to be his life guru and is like,
<v Speaker 1>Boris needs a new beginning, and he sent me over
<v Speaker 1>here to basically say goodbye, and he's leaving Fresno. He
<v Speaker 1>never wants to talk to any of you again, and
<v Speaker 1>he this is for him to grow. And Margaret, the
<v Speaker 1>sister played by Molly Shannon, I love her. I was
<v Speaker 1>thinking superstyled.
<v Speaker 2>I was gonna be like sometimes when I get nervous,
<v Speaker 2>my hands into my own.
<v Speaker 1>We should have done that. So Margaret is like, no, like,
<v Speaker 1>don't meet me here, and Martha is in the car
<v Speaker 1>pretending to be Boris and sends like the lolgo by
<v Speaker 1>text and Martha goes to the window and sees the
<v Speaker 1>car taking off and she's like Boris, oh my god, Like,
<v Speaker 1>don't leave me here with that.
<v Speaker 2>She's like, I don't want to take care of our
<v Speaker 2>parents by myself.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, I know, and I felt bad. The parents are
<v Speaker 1>cute with the dad's like birthday hat and I know
<v Speaker 1>it just seems so cute.
<v Speaker 2>But then doesn't the mom also go like poopo, like yeah,
<v Speaker 2>she didn't change my diaper.
<v Speaker 1>Margaret just got done changing her She likes to go
<v Speaker 1>for gloves and she's like, I can't do this by myself.
<v Speaker 1>And so they leave the car and they leave a
<v Speaker 1>note saying like sell the car, sell the gold bronze medal,
<v Speaker 1>and like basically get out of Fresno. Yeah, Margaret, you know,
<v Speaker 1>like do whatever you need to do. But you know
<v Speaker 1>they're trying to sell that boris really left and he's
<v Speaker 1>not dead. Yeah, and Margaret believes so after they argue
<v Speaker 1>some more, but Martha, they still have the dead body
<v Speaker 1>and they realize they know somebody who has a pet cemetery. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and it's your favorite. Yes, I know. I forgot he
<v Speaker 1>was in this and I was like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 1>you're like he has all the people that we like,
<v Speaker 1>but just like some of the movie slack and.
<v Speaker 2>I know, but it makes sense that he's in it
<v Speaker 2>because this was when him and natash leone were together,
<v Speaker 2>because they were for like ten years together for so long.
<v Speaker 2>But I have read that he is not a good boyfriend.
<v Speaker 1>I read that too.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, he's a very funny person, but he's he is
<v Speaker 2>not a good partner. I think he's even said that,
<v Speaker 2>so at least he like admits it.
<v Speaker 1>Dang, but he's so funny, and he's funny in this too.
<v Speaker 1>He's self aware. Yeah. So he's the owner of the
<v Speaker 1>pet cemetery. His name is Gerald in this and his
<v Speaker 1>wife Ruby, he's had relations with Shannon, and he's like do.
<v Speaker 2>You remember he's like this scuter hand. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And then Ruby, his wife, is like, oh, scooter girl.
<v Speaker 1>And then she's like you told her and he's like yeah.
<v Speaker 1>So they're trying to cremate their great Dane. They're acting
<v Speaker 1>like they have a dog. They brought the cart in
<v Speaker 1>there with them first of all. Yeah, like the body,
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god. And so they're like, can we get
<v Speaker 1>the friends and family discount? And Ruby's like no, we
<v Speaker 1>need the money, like there's no discount, and we're gonna
<v Speaker 1>charge you because they also want to cremate the cart.
<v Speaker 1>And so they're like okay, but Ruby wants to measure
<v Speaker 1>everything because you know, she needs to know like for
<v Speaker 1>the casket and stuff. And right, they said the casket,
<v Speaker 1>didn't they I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think they do a casket if they're cremating,
<v Speaker 2>but they probably need to know for like the incinerator
<v Speaker 2>or whatever.
<v Speaker 1>Like, yeah, they said something about that they wanted to measure.
<v Speaker 1>Probably also maybe it's like the disposable.
<v Speaker 2>Well because also maybe I was thinking when you get
<v Speaker 2>like ashes back, all right, when you have to have
<v Speaker 2>a pet cremated, it like costs different depending on how
<v Speaker 2>big they are. Oh yeah, so maybe that's it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think so, because she's just like I need
<v Speaker 1>to know like the measurements, like we'll do it, but whatever,
<v Speaker 1>because Martha, of course is like, I'll pay for it. It's fine. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>And so they try to get Ruby to not go
<v Speaker 1>over there, but she does and her and Gerald see
<v Speaker 1>that is a human man and not a Dane, and
<v Speaker 1>they're like, what the fuck is going on? And Gerald's
<v Speaker 1>like we should call the police, and Ruby's like, no,
<v Speaker 1>we're not calling the police because we are not going
<v Speaker 1>to get any money. We need money. I want to
<v Speaker 1>leave Fresno, Yeah, because everybody fucking hates resident. She's like,
<v Speaker 1>sell this place and get like open a shop in Detroit.
<v Speaker 1>She's yeah, someone and I moved to Detroit.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, which is funny because I don't know that much
<v Speaker 2>about Detroit, but like Shannon mentions like you can get
<v Speaker 2>a house for like eight hundred dollars in Detroit. Like
<v Speaker 2>Detroit has a lot of like really run down places,
<v Speaker 2>because I think it used to have like, well, it
<v Speaker 2>is Detroit motor City, like it used to have the
<v Speaker 2>big car manufacturers and then they like moved them to
<v Speaker 2>other countries because it's cheaper. And I think that that
<v Speaker 2>really impacted Detroit and so it's like really poor. So
<v Speaker 2>point being, if they went there, they could get a
<v Speaker 2>place really cheap. So she wants a lot of money.
<v Speaker 1>Right, So they see that and she's like, you know
<v Speaker 1>what we're gonna do. We're going to blackmail these bits. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and she's like, you're gonna get us twenty five thousand
<v Speaker 1>dollars by Sunday or we are going to report you
<v Speaker 1>to the police. And they're like, where are we supposed
<v Speaker 1>to get twenty five thousand dollars? First of all, it's
<v Speaker 1>Fresno and that's only a couple of days away.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and even housekeepers like, we don't have twenty thousand
<v Speaker 2>dollars at our disposal.
<v Speaker 1>They're like movies like, you guys can come up with something,
<v Speaker 1>and you guys got this. So they're like, oh my god. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>So then they decide to rob a sex shop and
<v Speaker 1>Clan Duval comes out and she's like, oh my god, hey,
<v Speaker 1>and then they're like wrapping their face in toilet paper
<v Speaker 1>with the car the dead body in there, and they're like,
<v Speaker 1>give us all the money you have, and then they
<v Speaker 1>walk out with like a shit ton of dildos and
<v Speaker 1>they're like, wow, who knew that? They were like struggling business,
<v Speaker 1>so all they could get was like merchandise.
<v Speaker 2>She gave them all the dildos. Boss like, we don't
<v Speaker 2>have any money, but you could try to sell all
<v Speaker 2>of these.
<v Speaker 1>Deltos all here. This is all I have. And it
<v Speaker 1>was like a cart full of them too.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it was a lot.
<v Speaker 1>And so after they go to the event at the
<v Speaker 1>hotel that they work at. It's for lesbian softballers specifically,
<v Speaker 1>and they figure, we're going to sell these dill dos
<v Speaker 1>un and we're gonna be so much money. So then
<v Speaker 1>they go and they sell it. They do sell it, however,
<v Speaker 1>it's not enough. It's only like four hundred dollars. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and Shannon's like, oh my god, I knew it. Lesbians
<v Speaker 1>are poor, and marn just like, stop being homophoement Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it just made me laugh and talk about my people.
<v Speaker 1>She's like, just stop it, Shannon, you're being really homophobic
<v Speaker 1>right now. And so they're back in a room and
<v Speaker 1>they're like arguing and they're like mess hitting each other
<v Speaker 1>with the dildos and stuff. And then Shannon's just like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god, blame me for the dead body, blame
<v Speaker 1>me for mom dying of cancer and dad like drinking
<v Speaker 1>himself to death. And Martha's like I already do yeah,
<v Speaker 1>And so Shannon's like, oh.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, but also she like, yeah, she really did just
<v Speaker 2>leave her to deal with everything.
<v Speaker 1>She did, because earlier Martha did mention like, you know,
<v Speaker 1>I really could have used your help when mom got
<v Speaker 1>diagnosed with breast cancer, Like you just left, and like
<v Speaker 1>you were not here for Dad either, and you know
<v Speaker 1>now I have to like help you. So you kind
<v Speaker 1>of just like leave all the time. And so Shannon
<v Speaker 1>leaves and she goes outside and she finds her coworker
<v Speaker 1>Eric smoking, so she decides to join them, and they
<v Speaker 1>bond over hating Fresno. He wrote what was it, like
<v Speaker 1>like a poem? Yeah, poem about hating president, and so
<v Speaker 1>she's just like, oh my god, yeah, let's just smoke.
<v Speaker 1>And then meanwhile Martha's like, I'm going to go to
<v Speaker 1>the gym to blow up some steam, and she sees
<v Speaker 1>Alicia flirting with some guy.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, because she's straight exactly, and she's like pissed.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god, the little lesbian.
<v Speaker 2>Boy he's holding the thing and he's like, come on,
<v Speaker 2>even my grandma can kick harder than that.
<v Speaker 1>So she's like fully like getting into it because she's like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god, Alicia flirting with some guys just like
<v Speaker 1>the cherry on top for her, I know. And so
<v Speaker 1>Eric and Shannon obviously are bonding, and then they go
<v Speaker 1>back to the room to have sex. Yeah is what
<v Speaker 1>that's what Shannon wants obviously, and Martha talks to Kelly
<v Speaker 1>and she's like, who's that guy that Alicia's with, Like,
<v Speaker 1>I haven't seen him around, and Kelly's like, I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>but do you want to be my date to the
<v Speaker 1>bar Mitzvah? I think the boy's name is Kevin, the
<v Speaker 1>one on the class boy. Yes, he's having a bar mitzvah.
<v Speaker 1>And she's like I have to go, yeah, and you're
<v Speaker 1>gonna be my date, and Martha's just like, oh my god. Okay.
<v Speaker 1>So back at the hotel room, obviously, Shannon's wanting to
<v Speaker 1>have sex and Eric's like, hold on, can we just
<v Speaker 1>take things slow? And Shannon's like, oh my god, you're gay,
<v Speaker 1>and he's like, no, I just haven't had sex since
<v Speaker 1>I broke up with my girlfriend, and you know, I
<v Speaker 1>just want to take things. So he's like he is, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>he just want to like jump right into it, like
<v Speaker 1>they're kissing, but he's like, I just don't want to
<v Speaker 1>do that. And so she's beginning to drink and he's like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god, what do you do. She's like, I'm
<v Speaker 1>a sex addict, not an alcoholic.
<v Speaker 2>And he's like, oh, all that explains she was so
<v Speaker 2>mad that he didn't want to have sex.
<v Speaker 1>She's like oh. And so they start kissing and Martha
<v Speaker 1>walks in and she's like, oh my god, are you
<v Speaker 1>kidding me? And so later that night, Martha is telling
<v Speaker 1>Shannon like, hey, I know what we can do. They
<v Speaker 1>always do like tips in like a little jar for
<v Speaker 1>bar Mitzvah. We can rob them. So let's go to
<v Speaker 1>that bar Mitzvah and we're gonna rob them. And Martha
<v Speaker 1>came up with it too, and so she's like, I'll
<v Speaker 1>go be Kelly's date and you and Shannon is like, well,
<v Speaker 1>I have to bring Eric along. I won't tell him why,
<v Speaker 1>I'll just we need help. So she's like all right, whatever.
<v Speaker 1>The next day, Martha wakes up to go to work,
<v Speaker 1>and then Shannon is like desperate to have sex with
<v Speaker 1>Edwin and he's like, no, I'm not gonna have sex
<v Speaker 1>with you because basically you only used me and I
<v Speaker 1>fell in love with you, and I'm like, who gives
<v Speaker 1>a fuck about you? Fucks right. So later that day
<v Speaker 1>they go to the bar Mitzvah and they Kelly and
<v Speaker 1>Martha are flirting and it's really cute and they're like dancing.
<v Speaker 1>There's like a performance that the lesbian boy does. It's like,
<v Speaker 1>my dad's get down, what are you doing? You know?
<v Speaker 1>My day? Yeah? My dad is like oh no, He's
<v Speaker 1>like I thought it was gonna be like Bruno Mars
<v Speaker 1>and so yeah, and so they're just like all right.
<v Speaker 1>So they're dancing and flirting, and so are Shannon and
<v Speaker 1>Eric and they're like kissing and stuff. But then Martha's like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>let's take a break, like let's get a drink and stuff,
<v Speaker 1>like let's just relax, and Kelly's like, okay, I'm gonna
<v Speaker 1>go to the bathroom, don't go anywhere. So then the
<v Speaker 1>plan is in motion. Martha creates a distraction by pretending
<v Speaker 1>to choke, and Shannon yells out and a woman like
<v Speaker 1>Shannon's like a woman is choking, people like rush to her.
<v Speaker 1>She's like you need a doctor, and everyone's like I'm
<v Speaker 1>a doctor, and they go to help her. And so
<v Speaker 1>Martha's like pretending to still choke, but Shannon's taking forever
<v Speaker 1>to get all the money. So Martha can like clearly
<v Speaker 1>see Shannon, and she's like still pretending to choke, and
<v Speaker 1>then she's like, oh, okay, I got it out. I
<v Speaker 1>got it out because she thinks Shannon in this finish,
<v Speaker 1>but Shannon still is there by the money, so she
<v Speaker 1>pretends to have a seizure. She's like, oh my god.
<v Speaker 1>And then Kelly obviously came out of the restroom, is
<v Speaker 1>like there. Everyone is by her side. They put like
<v Speaker 1>a wallet in her.
<v Speaker 2>Mouth to like yes, and then she's like okay.
<v Speaker 1>All of a sudden, she's like, wow, it was peanuts,
<v Speaker 1>you guys, I don't know. I like I can't have peanuts.
<v Speaker 1>And so they're like, oh my god. And then they
<v Speaker 1>start praising the dad. They're like he's a hero. They're celebrating,
<v Speaker 1>and Shannon did get the money, and so obviously Kelly
<v Speaker 1>is like, oh my god, you should come back to
<v Speaker 1>my place so I can just like keep an eye
<v Speaker 1>on you, like are you sure you're okay? That was
<v Speaker 1>really scary? And Martha's like no, I think I should
<v Speaker 1>just like go home alone, like I almost died. And
<v Speaker 1>Kelly's like, well, what is it like you keep like
<v Speaker 1>you find every excuse to like blow me off, like
<v Speaker 1>I'm available, I'm here, Like do you want me to
<v Speaker 1>treat you? Like Alicia like should I be mean and
<v Speaker 1>flirt with guys? And then she's like or should I
<v Speaker 1>use my sister like as an excuse? Like you can't
<v Speaker 1>use your adult sister as an excus and Martha makes
<v Speaker 1>up another excuse. So Kelly's like goodbye, like I'm done.
<v Speaker 1>And so after the bar mitzvah, they're counting the money
<v Speaker 1>and they realize they only got twelve thousand dollars. Damn.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, twelve thousand dollars there's a lot for a child.
<v Speaker 1>Are you kidding me?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? But they only have like half of what.
<v Speaker 1>They have twelve thousand, four hundred and so uh, they
<v Speaker 1>are like damn. And they take it to Gerald and
<v Speaker 1>Ruby and they're like, oh, we have is a one
<v Speaker 1>thousand dollars, and Gerald convinces Ruby to go through with
<v Speaker 1>the cremation because he says he will sell his car.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, and he's like it's okay, we'll sell the car.
<v Speaker 1>We'll do that, and so Ruby's like fine, whatever. And
<v Speaker 1>the next day they arrange a fake funeral and Martha
<v Speaker 1>is giving her eulogy and she reminds Shannon how she
<v Speaker 1>was not there for her dad's funeral, and so Shannon
<v Speaker 1>is obviously like, oh fuck. And Eric and Martha find
<v Speaker 1>her and Gerald having sex, and Martha's like, I'm done,
<v Speaker 1>and Eric is just like like kind of like in shock. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and so Shannon runs and catches up to her, and
<v Speaker 1>basically Martha's like I'm done helping you do not bother
<v Speaker 1>coming back to the house, like it's over, Like you're
<v Speaker 1>exactly like dad, Like I just can't do this anymore.
<v Speaker 1>And so Shannon gets her things and stays at a
<v Speaker 1>hotel and decides to go to a meeting and she's
<v Speaker 1>like talking about all her problems and she's just like
<v Speaker 1>basically like realizing like how much she's been fucking up.
<v Speaker 1>And then at home, Martha's trying to ignore Shannon's text
<v Speaker 1>messages and she like tells Shannon, like stop texting her.
<v Speaker 1>So Shannon texts Edwin and finds out that she's blocked,
<v Speaker 1>and she goes over to his house and she's like
<v Speaker 1>throwing rocks and like looking through the door and knocking
<v Speaker 1>and there's no one. So she's just like alone. So
<v Speaker 1>she is like, oh, fuck a right, let me go home.
<v Speaker 1>At work, Jerry is talking to Martha and he's like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>here's your check and here's your sister's check. Martha's like
<v Speaker 1>she's gonna have to come pick it up because we're
<v Speaker 1>not talking. And she quit and Jerry's like, oh wow.
<v Speaker 1>And Martha kind of tells him a little bit like
<v Speaker 1>she just doesn't care about anybody. She's selfish and all
<v Speaker 1>this other stuff. And Jerry's like, then why are you
<v Speaker 1>helping her? Like why do you help people that don't
<v Speaker 1>want to be helped? And Martha's like, what do you mean.
<v Speaker 1>He's like, yeah, you should help yourself, like you're a
<v Speaker 1>maid in Fresno, and I think he says something else
<v Speaker 1>that has nobody he's like and Jerry. She tells Jerry
<v Speaker 1>She's like, Jerry, you also work here too, and he's
<v Speaker 1>like no, I'm not a maid. I'm the boss and
<v Speaker 1>I have a hot girlfriend. Yeah, he's like, I'm execut
<v Speaker 1>He's like, and I have a hot girlfriend. And she's
<v Speaker 1>just like okay, So I like that he like gave
<v Speaker 1>her a little bit of advice. And so Martha goes
<v Speaker 1>to see Kelly and she apologizes for her behavior and
<v Speaker 1>she's like, my ex is not in my life. My
<v Speaker 1>sister's not in my life. And I finally get to
<v Speaker 1>do like the stuff that I want to do for myself.
<v Speaker 1>And Kelly is like, okay, like do you want to
<v Speaker 1>go out tonight? Like what excuse are you going to use?
<v Speaker 1>And she's like nothing, I'm available. And so Shannon is
<v Speaker 1>walking and she runs into Margaret Boris's sister, and Margaret's like,
<v Speaker 1>I took your advice. I sold the car Boris's car,
<v Speaker 1>I sold the bronze medal, and I use that money
<v Speaker 1>to put my parents in a home. And she she's
<v Speaker 1>like and I'm so happy, and she's just like I
<v Speaker 1>really like you are so good, you know, and life. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Shannon's like, I never told you to do any of that,
<v Speaker 1>and she's like I just felt the vibe, like I
<v Speaker 1>felt your vibe, like you're a really good life guru.
<v Speaker 1>And Shannon's like kind of surprised to hear that, and
<v Speaker 1>so she's like, okay, she is like, wow, that's really interesting.
<v Speaker 1>But she goes to see Martha but stops and sees
<v Speaker 1>how happy she is with Kelly. So then she goes
<v Speaker 1>to the pet cemetery and she like sits down where
<v Speaker 1>they're great. Dane Boris is a yeah, and she calls
<v Speaker 1>the police and she's like, hi, like I killed somebody,
<v Speaker 1>Like he send them over? And then it kind of
<v Speaker 1>made me laugh though, because she's like it was an act,
<v Speaker 1>but like it's a really long story. And then they
<v Speaker 1>asked her if she could like walk to the station,
<v Speaker 1>and she's like, it's a really long walk. Can't you
<v Speaker 1>send someone over?
<v Speaker 2>She's like it's act.
<v Speaker 1>She's like or because they were asking like do you
<v Speaker 1>need em? And then she's like, oh no, this happened
<v Speaker 1>a couple of days ago, Like I'm right where the
<v Speaker 1>body is right and like the fact that they wanted
<v Speaker 1>her to walk over, She's like, can you just send
<v Speaker 1>somebody be easier? And so Shannon is obviously in prison
<v Speaker 1>and she's doing better, and in the beginning of the movie,
<v Speaker 1>we did see like someone wearing like the prison clothing
<v Speaker 1>and walking, but we didn't see who. And it was Shannon,
<v Speaker 1>and she was saying that like sometimes you know, like
<v Speaker 1>siblings are better off without each other and like growing
<v Speaker 1>and Martha and her are talking like they send letters
<v Speaker 1>and they're doing much better. Yeah, And I thought it
<v Speaker 1>was really sweet because she's like, I hate you, but
<v Speaker 1>by the way, like if you didn't know, that means
<v Speaker 1>like I love you like a sister. I thought that
<v Speaker 1>was very sweet. Yeah, but was kind of sweet. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I know you didn't like the ending.
<v Speaker 2>I know. I mean, I don't know. She probably did
<v Speaker 2>deserve to be in prison, but I just was like,
<v Speaker 2>oh my god, they did so much to not all
<v Speaker 2>of that, I know, but oh well whatever, so much
<v Speaker 2>merged Murder time. Okay, the options are Martha, Shannon, and Kelly.
<v Speaker 1>My eyes were like glazing over and I thought you
<v Speaker 1>put Margaret first instead.
<v Speaker 2>Of my head, I was like, who's Margaret? Oh yeah,
<v Speaker 2>this is no. There were a lot of women to
<v Speaker 2>choose from, but I just chose like the three most
<v Speaker 2>main characters.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, okay, what do you what do you say?
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to murder Shannon. I didn't really like her.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah she sucked. Yes, I'm going to munch Martha and
<v Speaker 1>merge with Kelly. Okay, what about you?
<v Speaker 2>I think, Yeah, I think I would merge with Martha
<v Speaker 2>because I like, I like someone that will take care
<v Speaker 2>of me.
<v Speaker 1>She's very she's so sweet, and she has a house.
<v Speaker 2>She's like a house see, and he's like, I have
<v Speaker 2>house and presno, yeah cheap okay, So I would merge
<v Speaker 2>with Martha. I would munch Kelly, and I would also
<v Speaker 2>murder Shannon.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah she was. I don't like her.
<v Speaker 2>And man, we're going to rate this movie on a
<v Speaker 2>scale of one to five, but what would you rate it?
<v Speaker 1>And I would give this movie honestly a three. Me too.
<v Speaker 1>I thought you were gonna say, like that's too hot
<v Speaker 1>or something.
<v Speaker 2>I thought originally I thought you were going to rate
<v Speaker 2>it higher. I don't know, because I feel like we
<v Speaker 2>talked about it once and you said you liked it,
<v Speaker 2>so I thought you were gonna I liked it because
<v Speaker 2>like everybody was.
<v Speaker 1>In it, yeah, like, but not parts.
<v Speaker 2>I laughed loud at the part where you know Martha
<v Speaker 2>was like having a seizure or like choking, because it
<v Speaker 2>was just so so dramatic.
<v Speaker 1>How do you no one see their doctor, they're like
<v Speaker 1>or the part I didn't mention that you or the
<v Speaker 1>part where she's like, oh Boris who was a dirty dog.
<v Speaker 1>It was real.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, I just it was very like.
<v Speaker 1>It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. It was very
<v Speaker 1>We have a lot of those. Yeah, yeah, so.
<v Speaker 2>Definitely a three. Okay, So thank you so much for
<v Speaker 2>the recap. So when we come back from this break
<v Speaker 2>we're about to take, we will be talking to the
<v Speaker 2>CEO and creative director of the longest running LGBTQ plus
<v Speaker 2>streaming platform. We're talking about queer media and how to
<v Speaker 2>support it and what happens when LGBTQ plus stories are
<v Speaker 2>actually made by us for us. If you've ever been
<v Speaker 2>queer baited into watching a movie or show that forgot
<v Speaker 2>lesbians actually exist, you're gonna love FELLO.
<v Speaker 1>Welcome back to but I'm a Lesbian Podcast. We are
<v Speaker 1>so excited to have Christian Baker, the CEO of Tello Films,
<v Speaker 1>the longest running LGBTQ plus streaming platform, which is celebrating
<v Speaker 1>nineteen years this year. That is yay, right. So Christian
<v Speaker 1>is an award winning director and Emmy nominator, Emmy nominated producer.
<v Speaker 1>Stacey Pewell is an author, actress, and Tello's film creative director.
<v Speaker 1>She is also the host of the travel lifestyle series
<v Speaker 1>Let's Go, which she creates with Christian. Together, Christian and
<v Speaker 1>Stacey create queer centered stories, shows and conversations that celebrate love, visibility,
<v Speaker 1>and adventure. Yes, and I think it's Kristin. Oh yes,
<v Speaker 1>so sorry. I think it's like the I apologize, so sorry, hie.
<v Speaker 3>Race.
<v Speaker 2>You have such a cool spelling of your name though,
<v Speaker 2>so I'm sure you get that my name is spelled weird. Absolutely, no,
<v Speaker 2>so cool. Okay, Well I'm I'm so excited. We're so
<v Speaker 2>excited to having look here.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you for being here. Yes, yes, oh so sorry.
<v Speaker 2>There's also sometimes this like lag with the zoom or
<v Speaker 2>oh yeah side thing. So if I'm ever accidentally interrupting you,
<v Speaker 2>I am sorry. So we have some questions for you.
<v Speaker 2>I think I think Kristin you came up with the
<v Speaker 2>idea for Tello. How did you kind of come up
<v Speaker 2>with that idea and what helped you to get it started?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, sob nineteen years ago, there was a show in
<v Speaker 5>the UK that was a prison drama called Bad Girls.
<v Speaker 3>It is super random.
<v Speaker 5>Not a lot of people remember it, but it was
<v Speaker 5>I think a little bit before Wentworth.
<v Speaker 3>If anyone yes, yea.
<v Speaker 5>So it was like pre Wentworth, like lesbian prison Drama
<v Speaker 5>had the same like you know Warden, you know, falling
<v Speaker 5>in love with one of the one of the prisoners.
<v Speaker 5>And after three seasons the couple that was on there
<v Speaker 5>that were called Nicki and Helen where the they had
<v Speaker 5>a ship name which of course I can't remember now.
<v Speaker 5>But that that ended and I was like, well, I'm
<v Speaker 5>not interested in any of the other storylines. Really, I
<v Speaker 5>really loved this one and that for some reason there
<v Speaker 5>was just like a void in in.
<v Speaker 3>In my world around that.
<v Speaker 5>I mean, we still we have the l words still
<v Speaker 5>and I can't remember when South of Nowhere popped in.
<v Speaker 5>It might have been like a little bit afterwards, but
<v Speaker 5>I just thought And at the same time, YouTube was
<v Speaker 5>like starting to.
<v Speaker 3>Become like a thing.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, and I thought, you know what, I can I
<v Speaker 5>can do this, Like I have a film background. I
<v Speaker 5>had a full time job, like at a nonprofit at
<v Speaker 5>the time, and I just like the idea.
<v Speaker 3>Would not leave me alone.
<v Speaker 5>It was like, you should start a lesbian streaming company,
<v Speaker 5>and that thought did not leave me alone. So I
<v Speaker 5>had to figure out how to do it. And I
<v Speaker 5>don't know anything about coding. I didn't know how to
<v Speaker 5>leave it up a website. Setting one up is so
<v Speaker 5>easy today, like you need a little bit of money,
<v Speaker 5>but back then, like there was, I had to find
<v Speaker 5>someone who could like help build the template. I had
<v Speaker 5>to figure out like how to upload that someone could
<v Speaker 5>watch it on their phone and watch it on like
<v Speaker 5>there was. There were no TV apps at the time.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so you know, it was.
<v Speaker 5>Really really early in the streaming sphere. But the yeah,
<v Speaker 5>the idea just wouldn't leave me alone. So I was
<v Speaker 5>really lucky that I got some angel investor money from
<v Speaker 5>some family and friends that helped offset the cost of
<v Speaker 5>like you know, putting it up and making original content,
<v Speaker 5>which was like very important to me from the beginning.
<v Speaker 5>And I could only afford to do like interview shows,
<v Speaker 5>so we would like find SI lesbians and then interview
<v Speaker 5>them and post it and then eventually we got more.
<v Speaker 3>Into like narrative things.
<v Speaker 5>But it was just like one of those ideas where
<v Speaker 5>like I would turn to myself in the middle of
<v Speaker 5>like working on this and I would be like you're crazy.
<v Speaker 3>You don't know anything about this.
<v Speaker 5>Text stuff, you don't know how to code, you don't
<v Speaker 5>know what are you doing. And then this voice would.
<v Speaker 3>Be like, yeah, but you got to do it, like
<v Speaker 3>like you got to do this.
<v Speaker 5>And so I don't know if anyone else has ever
<v Speaker 5>had that where just like an idea just sucks itself
<v Speaker 5>to your brain and it won't leave you alone.
<v Speaker 3>And that was Tello. So yeah, I was really lucky,
<v Speaker 3>Like I.
<v Speaker 5>Have found that in my life as I have just
<v Speaker 5>started talking about doing something, suddenly things start to happen
<v Speaker 5>and people appear in your life who are helpful.
<v Speaker 3>And so I just started talking about it, and I
<v Speaker 3>kept talking about it, and.
<v Speaker 5>The most random people would show up and be like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>I know someone who can do that. And then I'd
<v Speaker 5>be like, well, can I meet them? And They're like yeah,
<v Speaker 5>and so I thought okay, and then I just took
<v Speaker 5>that step, and then I would just like take the
<v Speaker 5>next step, and the next step in the next step.
<v Speaker 2>Ye. So you like, for real, manifesto, it's just gonna
<v Speaker 2>say you manifest yeah, which is so cool. And when
<v Speaker 2>you're talking about having an idea and you don't really
<v Speaker 2>know how to do it.
<v Speaker 1>That was us with the podcast.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, I've wanted to have a podcast for
<v Speaker 2>a really long time. Like I started listening to podcasts
<v Speaker 2>in like twenty fifteen. I was really into my favorite Murder. Yeah, okay, I.
<v Speaker 1>Was so into it.
<v Speaker 2>That was my first podcast that I listened to, And
<v Speaker 2>of course it had already been out for a few years,
<v Speaker 2>but I had to start at the beginn So I
<v Speaker 2>like binged it all and I always was like, wow,
<v Speaker 2>I wish that I could like make my job be
<v Speaker 2>just talking about things I like, mainly gay stuff and
<v Speaker 2>like pop culture stuff, but like no nobody would listen.
<v Speaker 2>And I thought about it for years and years, and
<v Speaker 2>then I met Angelina and we had so much in
<v Speaker 2>common because I have never really had, like I never
<v Speaker 2>had like a cool lesbian group of friends like on
<v Speaker 2>the OLT word like people have.
<v Speaker 1>I always thought what would happened to me?
<v Speaker 2>It never happened, so it's always been like just me
<v Speaker 2>and my wife and then like all of our friends
<v Speaker 2>were straight, really and then I met Angelina and even
<v Speaker 2>though she's like younger than me, I okay, we met
<v Speaker 2>on bumble BFF and you like swipe like you do
<v Speaker 2>with like yes, and I almost didn't like swipe on
<v Speaker 2>her because she's like ten years younger than me, and
<v Speaker 2>I was like, what is this little baby lesbian gonna
<v Speaker 2>have in common with me? But I did because there's
<v Speaker 2>not that many gay people around here, and I was like,
<v Speaker 2>she looks cool, cool style. We could maybe be friends,
<v Speaker 2>even though like I'm way older. And then we talked
<v Speaker 2>about all of these shows and movies and some of
<v Speaker 2>them not great.
<v Speaker 1>She was like, I've she went to the very bottom
<v Speaker 1>of two B.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of times and saw some really interesting things.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, every piece of lesbian media I need
<v Speaker 1>to consume. I need to watch it all. And so
<v Speaker 1>it was interesting, you know, seeing somebody else that had
<v Speaker 1>like also watched that end, like same as Caitlin. I
<v Speaker 1>did not have any lesbian friends growing up. They were
<v Speaker 1>all straight, and so it was like a special friendship.
<v Speaker 1>And then we're like, She was like, do you want
<v Speaker 1>to do a podcast together? And I was like yes,
<v Speaker 1>even though we do not know how to do any
<v Speaker 1>of them, which is why we have a producer.
<v Speaker 2>And again that's why yes we have Victoria, who I
<v Speaker 2>also met on Bumble BF.
<v Speaker 5>Yes, and.
<v Speaker 1>They yes sponsor.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know for real that and Grocery Outlet. I
<v Speaker 2>talk about the grocery Outlet a lot on here and
<v Speaker 2>how it's my favorite store. So bumble BFF and Grocery
<v Speaker 2>Outlet need to reach out. But anyway, yeah, and then
<v Speaker 2>my wife is really good, like at all. She went
<v Speaker 2>to school for a graphic communication. She's very good at
<v Speaker 2>editing and she's very artsy. And she was like she
<v Speaker 2>does so much work. I'm like, if we ever actually
<v Speaker 2>get paid from this, you, you and Victoria need to
<v Speaker 2>get paid first because they do all this behind the
<v Speaker 2>scenes stuff and we're like, we just watched the movies
<v Speaker 2>and write about that exactly.
<v Speaker 1>We're like, oh my gosh, and they're like doing the
<v Speaker 1>editing and everything. We thought we were going to do
<v Speaker 1>it at first because we were like we can do this.
<v Speaker 1>I remember having a conversation with Kaitlin and I was
<v Speaker 1>like I'll watch videos. I'll figure it out. I got
<v Speaker 1>this and Caylen's like yeah, me too, and then I
<v Speaker 1>was like no, I will do it. Yeah. Yeah, She's like,
<v Speaker 1>you guys are not going no.
<v Speaker 2>I think I was annoying my wife because I was like,
<v Speaker 2>just show me like the software that you have and
<v Speaker 2>I'll do and then I kept like asking a million
<v Speaker 2>questions and she's like, Babe, I'll just do it. It'll
<v Speaker 2>be like easier and faster every week if I just
<v Speaker 2>edit it. But yeah, anyway, I just had to share
<v Speaker 2>that because that like idea like sucking and being like
<v Speaker 2>stuck in your mind is like so resonates.
<v Speaker 1>And you're so right. It is easier now to like
<v Speaker 1>find what you need and to do all that stuff.
<v Speaker 1>I can't imagine back then starting our podcast and figuring
<v Speaker 1>everything out. I feel like it'd be kind of hard.
<v Speaker 2>Well, yeah, I'm thinking, like even there's this uh kind
<v Speaker 2>of like linked in but it's gay. I can't remember
<v Speaker 2>what it's called. I want to say it's called like
<v Speaker 2>the FAM or something. Another girl I met on Bumblebff
<v Speaker 2>told me about it because she was like, I'm not
<v Speaker 2>on any social media, but I'm on this. It's like
<v Speaker 2>a but it's an LGBTQ plus like networking app, which
<v Speaker 2>is really cool, and that would have been.
<v Speaker 1>Have you guys heard of this?
<v Speaker 3>No?
<v Speaker 1>Okay, okay, I'll look it.
<v Speaker 2>Up because I can't remember what it's called and I
<v Speaker 2>don't have my phone, but I still had it on.
<v Speaker 2>I want to say it is called like the family
<v Speaker 2>or the fam something, but it's really cool. I'll look
<v Speaker 2>it up and I'll like, yeah, I'll send it to
<v Speaker 2>you guys, but I'll also put it in the description
<v Speaker 2>of the episode. So if anyone's like, what is this
<v Speaker 2>girl talking about? Okay, anyway back to the actual question,
<v Speaker 2>I get distructed.
<v Speaker 1>So what is a lesbian story trope you're personally tired
<v Speaker 1>of seeing? And what's the wow storyline that you will
<v Speaker 1>never get tired of?
<v Speaker 4>Tired of the stores? Whereby dies at the end. We
<v Speaker 4>don't want that anymore?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, yeah, the trope that I hope like never die.
<v Speaker 5>I love the I don't I'm trying to get this
<v Speaker 5>is considered a trope. If the group decides it's not,
<v Speaker 5>I'm like, I'm fine to pick a different one.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 5>I really love movies where well and actually like Heated Rivalry.
<v Speaker 5>Even though it had a lot of sexy time, it
<v Speaker 5>had a lot of this too, like like the finger
<v Speaker 5>touched the hand, oh, the like putting your hand on
<v Speaker 5>someone for just a second longer than you should and
<v Speaker 5>those like just those moments of like tension and longing
<v Speaker 5>and like, oh my gosh, our fingers brushed.
<v Speaker 3>I know, I love that.
<v Speaker 2>I love that, Okay, I feel like we love that too.
<v Speaker 2>I'm thinking about Imagine Me and you. Have you seen
<v Speaker 2>that there's the more where they like touch pinkies and
<v Speaker 2>then it's like it's.
<v Speaker 1>Like yes, or the eye contact, like that's something that
<v Speaker 1>we're always like lesbian eye contact. It's so intense like
<v Speaker 1>that was also a big thing.
<v Speaker 2>And Imagining You and and a lot of other movies.
<v Speaker 2>I like it too, and I see that that I
<v Speaker 2>would say it's a trope because it's like sometimes even
<v Speaker 2>in shows that are not necessarily gay or you don't
<v Speaker 2>know it's going to be gay, Like I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>did either of you watch a typical Yes?
<v Speaker 1>I did, Okay, Okay, so I watched that like me too.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, I was like, I think you wat I watched
<v Speaker 2>it with my wife like in real time. And at
<v Speaker 2>one point they introduced the character I think her name
<v Speaker 2>was Izzy, and the sister became like they like hated
<v Speaker 2>each other, and I was like, oh, they're gonna fuck,
<v Speaker 2>like it was like enemies to lovers vibes, and then
<v Speaker 2>they're kept being this like me too, and so they
<v Speaker 2>kept having this like slow for that. Yes, and I
<v Speaker 2>was like, Oh, they're gonna get together and my wife
<v Speaker 2>was like, no, she's straight, she had a boyfriend. I
<v Speaker 2>was like she could be by okay. So then when
<v Speaker 2>it happened, I was like I knew it. It was
<v Speaker 2>like they but they did a good job of doing
<v Speaker 2>like the the little like lingering looks, and I was like,
<v Speaker 2>she really like her. I think she like loves her.
<v Speaker 1>Exactly. Okay.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, the app is called Hey fam.
<v Speaker 1>With two ms.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, we will still put it in the description, but yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's really cool. The only thing for me is that
<v Speaker 2>I probably should add on there the podcast infolk because
<v Speaker 2>I just put my regular day job and it's not
<v Speaker 2>that gay, so there was no one to really like
<v Speaker 2>that's a boring job. Okay. I wanted to also ask
<v Speaker 2>why is it important to you to platform smaller queer creators?
<v Speaker 3>Well, because who else is going to do it?
<v Speaker 2>Yes?
<v Speaker 3>Do you know what I mean?
<v Speaker 5>Like so many people have found found Tello through Alexander
<v Speaker 5>Swarrens's movies. Yes, who besides like you know, I mean,
<v Speaker 5>I know she's on two b I know, but like
<v Speaker 5>we give like like Alexandra does really really well on Tello,
<v Speaker 5>and I just love that part of our money is
<v Speaker 5>going to support her because I will keep her stuff
<v Speaker 5>on the site forever. Yeah, suddenly, Amazon or any of
<v Speaker 5>these other places could just decide, Nope, we're done. We're
<v Speaker 5>not making any money on you anymore. You're off the platform,
<v Speaker 5>and then all of a sudden, her amazing work is gone,
<v Speaker 5>or like work that, like we have a lot of
<v Speaker 5>her short films or her web series. Now you know,
<v Speaker 5>you can't put it on YouTube, but it's just harder
<v Speaker 5>to find, yeah sometimes, and it's not monetized as much.
<v Speaker 5>So I feel like it's really important because like you want,
<v Speaker 5>like a lot of these platforms like a tob or
<v Speaker 5>a YouTube can be overwhelming to you know, cut through
<v Speaker 5>all the straight shows, you know, like, Okay, it's independent creators.
<v Speaker 5>It's people that are trying to break in or maybe
<v Speaker 5>haven't yet and tellos unless the unless the filmmaker says
<v Speaker 5>please remove this now, like we want to do something
<v Speaker 5>else with it. We're not going to tell someone, hey,
<v Speaker 5>we're taking you off because you're not making any money. Yes,
<v Speaker 5>it's not not how we're in a role. So I
<v Speaker 5>think that, you know, the more we can highlight independent voices,
<v Speaker 5>everyone wants to be on like the big platforms, but
<v Speaker 5>I also think there's like incredible value and being a
<v Speaker 5>repository where you know, okay, I'm going to be able
<v Speaker 5>to find LGBT lesbian sapphic content.
<v Speaker 3>Everything like everything is lesbian.
<v Speaker 5>And it's you know, we try and make sure that
<v Speaker 5>we don't put things that are like I remember someone
<v Speaker 5>submitted a short film and there was a really a
<v Speaker 5>huge triggering negative scene between a father and the like
<v Speaker 5>his daughter's girlfriend, and we were like, nope, we're not
<v Speaker 5>putting this on, like it's way too triggering. And so
<v Speaker 5>I hope people know that when they come, you know,
<v Speaker 5>they're not going to see something that's like triggering or
<v Speaker 5>inappropriate or.
<v Speaker 3>Something like that.
<v Speaker 5>And you, I don't know the other platforms, like I
<v Speaker 5>don't say the care, but they don't have that same
<v Speaker 5>kind of curation.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, no, I can agree with that. I even just
<v Speaker 1>like searching for lesbian movies, like you said, it is
<v Speaker 1>so hard to find them. They just have it in
<v Speaker 1>one category, as in just LGBTQ plus. But then you're
<v Speaker 1>looking and looking and it's like some of them are
<v Speaker 1>semi gay, but they're not really. But when you go
<v Speaker 1>to tell O, you know that you're getting actual lesbian movies.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, okay, I was thinking of I saw I saw
<v Speaker 2>a TikTok of a girl talking about a show she
<v Speaker 2>saw on t be called The Lesbian Homie, and she's like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>it's gonna be a lesbian show. But basically it was
<v Speaker 2>like the lesbian friend hooking up with the guy the
<v Speaker 2>whole time, like secretly. And I was like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>that's like, yeah, okay, that would not be something that
<v Speaker 2>we would find one to know because you.
<v Speaker 3>Get yeah, we would say no, thank you exactly.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so that is really good to know. Okay, So
<v Speaker 2>let oh.
<v Speaker 1>If you could give any piece of advice to the
<v Speaker 1>baby gays, what would.
<v Speaker 4>It be, Oh, the baby get be patient with yourself
<v Speaker 4>and with other people. I mean, I don't know if
<v Speaker 4>I'm still a baby gay.
<v Speaker 3>You're not. But you have Oh I've been out four years,
<v Speaker 3>so too my children. Yeah, because you have kids, So
<v Speaker 3>I like you.
<v Speaker 4>I say, just really like, don't be so hard on yourself,
<v Speaker 4>like everything's not gonna be perfect at one time, like
<v Speaker 4>you have to. It took me, I mean it took
<v Speaker 4>me a good like two or three years to really
<v Speaker 4>feel like normal again. I don't know if that's the
<v Speaker 4>right word to use, but I mean when you make
<v Speaker 4>a big decision like that to tell everyone, like not
<v Speaker 4>everyone's gonna agree with you, You're gonna get people that
<v Speaker 4>don't understand, and you really just have to say, like
<v Speaker 4>true to yourself for the decision that you made.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, good, Yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Patient with my advice. That's good. Yeah, that's an important reminder,
<v Speaker 1>especially during the coming out process and even after, you know,
<v Speaker 1>because like you said, not everyone is going to have
<v Speaker 1>the reaction that you hoped for. Yeah. I like that.
<v Speaker 2>I like, be patient. My advice is like silly. Mine
<v Speaker 2>is like you don't have to try to be butchered
<v Speaker 2>just to fit in. Because we both when we came out,
<v Speaker 2>we both like cut our hair and we're like, LEI
<v Speaker 2>I have to like.
<v Speaker 1>Wet bad haircuty it were so bad.
<v Speaker 2>But I I stopped wearing makeup, even though I love
<v Speaker 2>makeup because I felt like I had this like, I mean,
<v Speaker 2>this was also for me. It was two thousand and nine.
<v Speaker 2>I had this like idea of what I had to
<v Speaker 2>like look like to be a lesbian. I had to
<v Speaker 2>get a lesbian haircut, and like what am I doing?
<v Speaker 2>So Okay, we're we only have time for one more question,
<v Speaker 2>but I wanted to ask, how can our listeners actually
<v Speaker 2>support clear media in a way that matters that?
<v Speaker 3>Thank you. That's such a great question.
<v Speaker 5>I think, I think one of the biggest things that
<v Speaker 5>I have been saying this for a very very long time,
<v Speaker 5>and I did say this recently on another podcast, but
<v Speaker 5>I think it is always.
<v Speaker 3>Worth repeating that. You know, I think.
<v Speaker 5>Your dollar is a vote for what you want to
<v Speaker 5>see in the world, like energetically and so and I
<v Speaker 5>know that a lot of times, like because you know,
<v Speaker 5>we are women and we don't make as much as
<v Speaker 5>men and lesbians. I mean, that's just statistic. I'm not
<v Speaker 5>talking I'm just talking about across the board. And we
<v Speaker 5>also lesbian and women tend to go into more servi
<v Speaker 5>service oriented jobs that don't make as much because we
<v Speaker 5>just love giving back and we so we don't always
<v Speaker 5>have as much disposable income as other people. So when
<v Speaker 5>you can and where you can support people making content
<v Speaker 5>that speaks to you, whether it's giving a little bit
<v Speaker 5>to someone's Patreon, whether it's subscribing to Tello or or
<v Speaker 5>any other platform, or renting a movie, spending money where
<v Speaker 5>you can that I think even like and also like energetically,
<v Speaker 5>that is a way where you can put your support
<v Speaker 5>behind people who are making the things that you want
<v Speaker 5>to see, because I mean Tello might not have all
<v Speaker 5>the things that you want to see, but there are
<v Speaker 5>no there might be another creator or a comedian who
<v Speaker 5>has a Patreon that makes you laugh or makes you think,
<v Speaker 5>like give money to that, and just I think that
<v Speaker 5>goes along a long long way. And I also think,
<v Speaker 5>just like energetically, that helps put more saphic stories and
<v Speaker 5>indie sapphic creators out into the world. So if you
<v Speaker 5>can rent something for two ninety nine, you know, do that.
<v Speaker 5>If if you can think about not renting it on
<v Speaker 5>Amazon and renting it on a Tello or renting it
<v Speaker 5>where it's you know, it's going back to the community,
<v Speaker 5>like Jeff Bezos does not need any more of your
<v Speaker 5>money and exactly from Amazon all the time too. Don't
<v Speaker 5>get me wrong, not poopooing it.
<v Speaker 3>But if you can, if you.
<v Speaker 5>Know you have a choice, you know, try and support
<v Speaker 5>places that want to support you.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, definitely, it's that that small amount of money that
<v Speaker 2>you're you know, putting towards someone's Patreon or subscribing to
<v Speaker 2>something or renting a movie that makes such a big
<v Speaker 2>difference to a small queer company or creator.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean and.
<v Speaker 2>Even like if people comment things on our YouTube that
<v Speaker 2>makes me so like I feel like, oh my gosh,
<v Speaker 2>we're helping someone or made someone last.
<v Speaker 5>And I think that also that's a great way of
<v Speaker 5>framing it as well, because I just had someone send
<v Speaker 5>me an email who was like so thankful for Tello
<v Speaker 5>and she was like, right now, like I have to
<v Speaker 5>cancel my subscription because I can't afford you, but I
<v Speaker 5>just want you to know like I've enjoyed everything, and
<v Speaker 5>so like emailing or contacting or putting a positive comment
<v Speaker 5>if you can't afford something, anything that you can do
<v Speaker 5>to put.
<v Speaker 3>Something positive out into the world.
<v Speaker 5>Like I'm so tired of like people on social media
<v Speaker 5>putting like a throw uppy face on something. It's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I have to you should make positive comments. That's my
<v Speaker 5>other advice just to the world. Yeah, that's big positive comments.
<v Speaker 5>If you don't like something, you don't have to comment.
<v Speaker 5>If if you want to throw a different opinion out there,
<v Speaker 5>like you can do that, but there's no need to do.
<v Speaker 3>Like Aji about to be me.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, where you can put positive comments, happy emojis, positive emojis,
<v Speaker 5>and support people that you want and if someone's doing
<v Speaker 5>something you don't like, just move along.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, definitely, I agree. Okay, so thank you so so much.
