<v Speaker 1>Welcome to But I'm a Lesbian, the podcast where we
<v Speaker 1>serve all batty SaaS, queer film reviews, and everything in between.
<v Speaker 1>Whether you were a baby, gay or.
<v Speaker 2>A queer elder, we're here, We're queer, and we're diving
<v Speaker 2>deep into all things lesbian. We're your hosts, Caitlin and Angelina.
<v Speaker 2>Get ready for some sapphix serotonin. So this week we
<v Speaker 2>are discussing Carmen and Lola or Carmen Eve Lola.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not good at doing a Spanish accent.
<v Speaker 1>Sound it really good? You sounded like the ones where
<v Speaker 1>like they're teaching you how to speak Spanish. God, You're like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, you said it in a very like you know.
<v Speaker 1>I have professional to.
<v Speaker 2>Remind myself that there are people that are Spanish teachers
<v Speaker 2>that their accent is not that great, but at least
<v Speaker 2>they know the words and they have the confidence to
<v Speaker 2>literally like teach people Spanish. So I should have the
<v Speaker 2>confident to say some things in Spanish. But it's because
<v Speaker 2>I sounded like you should all.
<v Speaker 3>The time, and it's so embarrassing.
<v Speaker 2>And then the other day my niece made fun of
<v Speaker 2>the way I said tacos, and then I was like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>I said it in the most American way.
<v Speaker 1>But you say it like I said tacos.
<v Speaker 2>But am I supposed to be fus I sound stupid.
<v Speaker 3>I don't think anybody says that.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe she was just like it was giving, you know,
<v Speaker 2>like I'm like, am I supposed to say? Like you
<v Speaker 2>know when people are talking and it's like i'd like, I.
<v Speaker 1>Can't just like try to.
<v Speaker 2>So you know what, what I've been trying to, like
<v Speaker 2>do is as long as I can learn the words,
<v Speaker 2>if my accent is not that great.
<v Speaker 3>It's like people I hear all the time.
<v Speaker 2>That are speaking English and they have a strong accent
<v Speaker 2>of another language, I can still get what they're saying,
<v Speaker 2>and I appreciate that they're trying, and I need to
<v Speaker 2>just try. And if I sound like a white valley
<v Speaker 2>girl American saying like, oh my gods, like.
<v Speaker 3>That's okay, because yeah, I'm still trying.
<v Speaker 1>So anyway, the point is that you're trying. I'm yaying.
<v Speaker 2>So. Carmen Ilola It is a twenty eighteen Spanish film
<v Speaker 2>about two young women falling in love. Early in the film,
<v Speaker 2>both of the main characters are exposed to some racy
<v Speaker 2>picks or videos. Do you remember the first time you
<v Speaker 2>saw a woman naked in a magazine or a movie, Angelina,
<v Speaker 2>or did you ever get your hands on any like
<v Speaker 2>playboys or scandalous magazines as.
<v Speaker 3>Like a kid.
<v Speaker 1>You know, I'm trying to think back. I think to
<v Speaker 1>like the first time. It definitely was a movie. I
<v Speaker 1>just actually I do remember the movie. I was at
<v Speaker 1>my Theo's house, yeah, and he loved horror movies, and
<v Speaker 1>I remember I think my mom and my grandma were
<v Speaker 1>going to the store somewhere and he was like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>this is like a really good horror movie, because like
<v Speaker 1>it actually was a good horror movie, and I liked
<v Speaker 1>horror movies as a kid.
<v Speaker 3>Was it The Thirteen Ghosts?
<v Speaker 1>No, but I know not naked. Yeah, I know what
<v Speaker 1>you mean, but no, I don't remember the name of it.
<v Speaker 1>I have to, like, I haven't seen that movie since.
<v Speaker 1>But it was like she was gonna be burned at
<v Speaker 1>the stake because they thought she was a witch. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and she actually was a witch and she was like
<v Speaker 1>doing these things, but like they had there was a
<v Speaker 1>part where she was naked, and I think my Theo
<v Speaker 1>forgot that part of it because it was only like
<v Speaker 1>a split second. He was like, oh my god, I
<v Speaker 1>was like over your eyes, but I was just like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god. Yeah, that was the very first time.
<v Speaker 1>But I was more interested in the movie because I
<v Speaker 1>was like, this is a really good movie and it
<v Speaker 1>wasn't at all like sexual. Yeah, as far as like
<v Speaker 1>a scandalous magazine, no, I never There was never any.
<v Speaker 3>Of those in your dad didn't have anything like that.
<v Speaker 1>Dad, we had nothing like that, and at that time
<v Speaker 1>he only had like a flip phone, so he only
<v Speaker 1>used it like for calls and stuff. It wasn't like
<v Speaker 1>to like go. And we didn't have a computer until
<v Speaker 1>I was like older, and even then it only had
<v Speaker 1>like the games on it. We didn't have like the Internet,
<v Speaker 1>So I don't know why we had a computer. So no,
<v Speaker 1>I know, right. Surprisingly it was at school more often,
<v Speaker 1>I think, Actually, yeah, that's where I first heard about
<v Speaker 1>porn because the other kids were talking about it and
<v Speaker 1>I was like, what is porn? Because they said one
<v Speaker 1>of the teachers was watching porn during her break and
<v Speaker 1>I was like, oh, and I didn't know what it was.
<v Speaker 1>I think it was, and she was so like you
<v Speaker 1>would not expect it from her, like she's like typical teacher,
<v Speaker 1>like very like strict, like one of the very strict teachers,
<v Speaker 1>and someone caught her and she was like really embarrassed.
<v Speaker 1>And I had her class that day and when they
<v Speaker 1>but I didn't know what that was. I think this
<v Speaker 1>was like maybe third grade or something, and I didn't
<v Speaker 1>know what that was. Theyre like telling me like, oh
<v Speaker 1>my god, Angie, like we caught her watching porn and
<v Speaker 1>I was just like, oh, that's that's cool. I was like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god. And I didn't know what porl was.
<v Speaker 1>I was just like, oh, okay, I didn't know I
<v Speaker 1>was a big deal. And they were like, oh my gosh,
<v Speaker 1>she doesn't know what porn is.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's so embarrassing when you're a kid.
<v Speaker 1>I like try to play off. I was like yeah
<v Speaker 1>I do. They're like, then what is it? And I
<v Speaker 1>was like, well, I don't want to talk about it,
<v Speaker 1>so you're not going to get me to talk about it.
<v Speaker 3>I know.
<v Speaker 1>For that conversation, I was just like, yeah, I can't
<v Speaker 1>believe she would do that. And I was like whoa.
<v Speaker 1>And then later on, I think I asked one of
<v Speaker 1>my other friends and then they told me and I
<v Speaker 1>was like, what the She's watching that at school? So
<v Speaker 1>what about you.
<v Speaker 2>That's really funny. That reminds me of when I was
<v Speaker 2>in like third grade. I was my friend, my best
<v Speaker 2>friend Mattie was coming uh to like have a sleepover
<v Speaker 2>at my house, and my mom had like a truck
<v Speaker 2>at the time, so it was like all three of
<v Speaker 2>us sat in like the cab of the truck, you know,
<v Speaker 2>and I was in the middle. And it was the nineties,
<v Speaker 2>and my friend was talking about how she got to
<v Speaker 2>watch the VMA's and Marilyn Manson was in a thong
<v Speaker 2>and can you believe he was in a thong? And
<v Speaker 2>I was like, oh my god. My mom was like,
<v Speaker 2>don't know what a thong is? And I was like, yes,
<v Speaker 2>I do.
<v Speaker 1>And then she called you up, Oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>What is it?
<v Speaker 3>And I was like, uh, something people wear.
<v Speaker 2>And then my friend Madie and my mom both laughed
<v Speaker 2>at me and they were like, it's underwear that goes
<v Speaker 2>up your butt. And I was like, wow, why is
<v Speaker 2>your mom calling you out in me?
<v Speaker 3>Girl behavior?
<v Speaker 1>That is mean girl. I'd be like, yeah, my daughter
<v Speaker 1>knows what it thought.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So that's how I learned what a thong was, because
<v Speaker 3>I was like, oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>He was wearing a thong. I don't know that is
<v Speaker 2>it was before the thong song came out. Okay, right
<v Speaker 2>before the song song.
<v Speaker 1>Came out, but they should have waited, yes, okay, so.
<v Speaker 3>I okay.
<v Speaker 2>Well, I the first time that I saw a woman
<v Speaker 2>naked in a movie I talked about before, I think,
<v Speaker 2>on here, it's because my mom was a naked mom,
<v Speaker 2>so I always saw like her boobs, but her boobs
<v Speaker 2>were like kind of saggy because she was a mom.
<v Speaker 2>And that's fine. My boobs are sagging and I'm not
<v Speaker 2>a mom. They're just gravity happens.
<v Speaker 3>But I didn't know that.
<v Speaker 2>Other women's boobs were not necessarily saggy until I saw
<v Speaker 2>Titanic and I was like, I thought that there was
<v Speaker 2>something wrong with kinshad and it just like goes straight
<v Speaker 2>down and I was like, why have they like kind
<v Speaker 2>of up like this, like the what that's weird?
<v Speaker 3>As it was so weird to me.
<v Speaker 2>And then like a year or so after that, I
<v Speaker 2>saw the movie Criybyby with Johnny Depp and the one girl,
<v Speaker 2>like the main character girl. There's a part where she's
<v Speaker 2>topless and her boobs are like pretty big and they're
<v Speaker 2>very perky, and I remember being really like, I thought
<v Speaker 2>that looked weird.
<v Speaker 3>I I think I'll tell you.
<v Speaker 2>I guess I'm just a fan of saggy boobs because
<v Speaker 2>I still am, like, I'm fine with that, Like they're
<v Speaker 2>head like heavy boobs.
<v Speaker 1>It makes sense.
<v Speaker 2>I just it looks so weird to me when they're
<v Speaker 2>big and they're also like hers were like almost like
<v Speaker 2>pointing up.
<v Speaker 3>They were that perky, and I was like, girl like, wow,
<v Speaker 3>that was crazy to me.
<v Speaker 1>And when I started.
<v Speaker 2>To get booths, they were never that perky. They were
<v Speaker 2>more like straight on, but they were never up. So
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, now you know about my boobs. So
<v Speaker 2>but I would always read my dad's Playboys and Maxims,
<v Speaker 2>and I was like doing it for research obviously because
<v Speaker 2>in research, yes exactly, yes, in the centerfold of Playboy,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. Well, for a while Playboy stopped doing nudes.
<v Speaker 2>I think they do again, I don't know. But like
<v Speaker 2>in the centerfold, you open it, it would tell you
<v Speaker 2>all the stats about the woman, like it would be
<v Speaker 2>like five five, one hundred and ten pounds, size thirty
<v Speaker 2>two D twenty four ways. And this is where also
<v Speaker 2>I got my idea that I said, I used to
<v Speaker 2>write on the shower wall how I wanted my body
<v Speaker 2>to be. It was basically based off of the Centerfolds measurements.
<v Speaker 2>That's like what I wanted my body to be. I
<v Speaker 2>was not looking at them like I am attracted to them.
<v Speaker 2>I was looking at them like I wanted.
<v Speaker 3>To be them. Yeah they were.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, oh my god, how are they only
<v Speaker 2>one hundred pounds. I'm over one hundred pounds and I'm twelve,
<v Speaker 2>you know. I was like, what so, yeah, maybe probably
<v Speaker 2>did more damage to my body image, but yeah. I
<v Speaker 2>would always read the articles in like Maxim, and I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, I thought they were kind of interesting. But
<v Speaker 2>one time I went to my dad's friend's house and
<v Speaker 2>he was like a bachelor and he didn't have kids,
<v Speaker 2>and in his bathroom he had so many magazines. But
<v Speaker 2>they were like way more scandalous than Playboy and Maxim
<v Speaker 2>because they were like Penthouse and Hustler.
<v Speaker 3>They were like.
<v Speaker 2>Spread open, like lips open, uh, spread eagle things.
<v Speaker 1>In the bathroom was crazy.
<v Speaker 2>The first time I saw like of the Jojo, like
<v Speaker 2>wo like it was like spready. I was like and
<v Speaker 2>I remember feeling like really like I don't think I
<v Speaker 2>should be looking at this, Like this felt like way
<v Speaker 2>more scandalous because like Playboy was like you could see
<v Speaker 2>like you know the.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, Like it was like.
<v Speaker 2>You could see that little landing strip because that was
<v Speaker 2>the early two thousands, they always had a little him
<v Speaker 2>being strip. But yeah, I was like, this is like fuck,
<v Speaker 2>oh my god crazy.
<v Speaker 3>And then my dad.
<v Speaker 1>Is u.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I don't know if he is a porn addict,
<v Speaker 2>but he definitely has had a porn problem in his life.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>He gave me his old computer when I was like fourteen.
<v Speaker 2>You could as soon as you open the Internet it
<v Speaker 2>was so much porn because he got all of these
<v Speaker 2>viruses and like it was like constantly chicks with dicks,
<v Speaker 2>Like that was like a big thing. And I don't
<v Speaker 2>know if he specifically looked at that or if that
<v Speaker 2>just was a pop up thing, but it was like
<v Speaker 2>a very pretty girl with a giant dick, and like
<v Speaker 2>that was a thing that I saw a lot. And
<v Speaker 2>every time I wanted to go on MySpace, when I
<v Speaker 2>fucking opened the Internet, I had to see all of
<v Speaker 2>these porn ads come up.
<v Speaker 3>I had to try X out of them. It was
<v Speaker 3>really embarrassing. When I had my friends come over because
<v Speaker 3>they thought it was me. Seriously not me.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, but like Caylen has like this really oh my god, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>why would he not clear it out? I don't know
<v Speaker 1>why did he not do that?
<v Speaker 3>Because he ruined it so bad.
<v Speaker 2>He's like, I know who want Yeah, and he like
<v Speaker 2>thought I wouldn't say anything, And I didn't say anything
<v Speaker 2>about it because I was thankful to have a computer
<v Speaker 2>because I needed it for school. But but likes embarrassing, right,
<v Speaker 2>And then like a few like years later.
<v Speaker 3>One time we were like in a fight and I
<v Speaker 3>said something, well, at.
<v Speaker 2>Least I didn't ruin my computer with a bunch of
<v Speaker 2>weird porn and then give it to my daughter, said
<v Speaker 2>something like, you ay with that, because that is crazy.
<v Speaker 1>How do you know that? If that to me, that's weird.
<v Speaker 1>You were like fourteen, Yeah, that's insane, maybe fifteen, I
<v Speaker 1>think any age, Yeah this is crazy. Yeah, even if
<v Speaker 1>you were an adult, like I don't you don't want
<v Speaker 1>to see your dad's porn? That insane?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, inappropriate? So anyway, god, that was a really weird
<v Speaker 3>thing that.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my god, I would think, Yeah, he ruined every
<v Speaker 2>computer he had, kind of like how I would ruin
<v Speaker 2>my computer with LimeWire.
<v Speaker 3>I think he would run it with that's.
<v Speaker 1>A way better thing than.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so whatever, I know too much about him because
<v Speaker 2>of that.
<v Speaker 3>So anyway, that was fun topic.
<v Speaker 2>Do you have any hot takes, are burning desires you
<v Speaker 2>want to share about this movie?
<v Speaker 1>Okay, I don't know if it's necessarily a hot take.
<v Speaker 1>I think, you know, I feel like this was so
<v Speaker 1>boring for me, but like I just wanted a better ending. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I just wanted a better ending.
<v Speaker 2>But like time I watched it, I felt that way,
<v Speaker 2>And the second time I watched it, I liked the
<v Speaker 2>ending more.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, I understand it, but I'm like, it's
<v Speaker 1>not my first choice. Yeah, maybe that's why they made
<v Speaker 1>the movie and not me. It'd be like fairy tale
<v Speaker 1>ending and they're like that's very unrealistic. Yeah, especially because
<v Speaker 1>like what's going on? So I know what about you?
<v Speaker 2>I didn't really, I guess have hot takes, but things
<v Speaker 2>that I really want to talk about.
<v Speaker 3>I thought it was interesting because it seemed to me
<v Speaker 3>like the.
<v Speaker 2>One girl, Carmen was way older. Carmen was going to
<v Speaker 2>get married married. Yeah, it seemed like she was way older,
<v Speaker 2>maybe because she was going to get married but also
<v Speaker 2>like her style, Like I thought there was like an
<v Speaker 2>age gap, but then I found out they were both teenagers.
<v Speaker 3>It's just she looked so she was.
<v Speaker 1>Like in a style.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I thought I thought she was like twenty two
<v Speaker 2>or something, and I was like, this is kind of weird.
<v Speaker 3>And then I realized, like.
<v Speaker 2>They were house she just seemed older because of like
<v Speaker 2>her style, because I looked up in the actresses of
<v Speaker 2>the same age, so it's not even that.
<v Speaker 3>So I thought that was interesting.
<v Speaker 2>It's like the way that she does her makeup and
<v Speaker 2>stuff like made her look older.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I could see that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>And then I said, it's so sad that the mom
<v Speaker 2>is so afraid of the dad Lola.
<v Speaker 3>I know, like she's like she's upset.
<v Speaker 2>About Lola being gay, but I think she's really mainly
<v Speaker 2>upset because she's scared of what the dad will do
<v Speaker 2>to her ant to Lola, and like that's a really
<v Speaker 2>sad way to live that she is just like in
<v Speaker 2>fear of her husband. And then there was some point
<v Speaker 2>I don't remember who said it, where somebody compared being
<v Speaker 2>gay to being a pedophile, and I fucking hate when.
<v Speaker 3>People do that.
<v Speaker 1>Oh that's I think that's when uh Lola's dad takes
<v Speaker 1>her their praying remember, and though oh, the woman was
<v Speaker 1>like it's a sin, like oh my god, she's like
<v Speaker 1>listing all these things where she's just like no, it's bad.
<v Speaker 1>And then they compared her to being a pedophile because
<v Speaker 1>they said she was sick. And then that's when she's like,
<v Speaker 1>I'm not sack, Like what the fuck?
<v Speaker 2>I think they said something like she was like I
<v Speaker 2>love her, and she's like, well if you if a man,
<v Speaker 2>what a grown man, was in love with a ten
<v Speaker 2>year old, would that be okay?
<v Speaker 3>Like this isn't okay. And it's like, that's not the same.
<v Speaker 3>I hate when people say it.
<v Speaker 2>It's the same thing that people used to always say
<v Speaker 2>and probably still say about gay marriage. They'd be like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>it's a slippery slope. Next thing, somebody's gonna marry a kid.
<v Speaker 2>Next thing, someone's going to marry a dog. And it's
<v Speaker 2>like that's not the fucking same, Like it's not the
<v Speaker 2>same hand. Go back to my daddy issues. My dad
<v Speaker 2>tried to tell me that I need to respect him
<v Speaker 2>dating barely legal girls because he respects me dating women,
<v Speaker 2>and it's not the same because he specifically seeks out
<v Speaker 2>girls who are eighteen nineteen because their frontal lobe is
<v Speaker 2>not developed and they don't make good decisions yet, and
<v Speaker 2>it's right on the edge of it's legal even though
<v Speaker 2>they're barely developed into a woman. It's fucking creepy and
<v Speaker 2>I don't accept it, and I don't think that I
<v Speaker 2>have to accept it. And I don't think being gay
<v Speaker 2>is the same as being a borderline pedo trying to
<v Speaker 2>only date eighteen and nineteen year old when you're fifteen.
<v Speaker 2>It's not the same, and it makes me mad. I
<v Speaker 2>date women who are age appropriate and I only have dated.
<v Speaker 1>One month older.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, she's actually two and a half weeks older than me,
<v Speaker 2>so she's my coup.
<v Speaker 1>That's as much of an age gap as you're gonna day.
<v Speaker 3>That's my age gap.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So I don't know, point being, it's not the same,
<v Speaker 2>And I hate when people try to compare being gay
<v Speaker 2>to things that I think are like either really evil,
<v Speaker 2>like pedophilia or hostiality or like even like when my
<v Speaker 2>dad tried to do that, I felt like it's because
<v Speaker 2>the thing that when they have like interviewed men, like
<v Speaker 2>there have been surveys of men and basically whatever is
<v Speaker 2>the legal age, they will they will have sex with that. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>Like if the age of consent is seventeen, they will
<v Speaker 2>have sex with the seventeen year old. If the age
<v Speaker 2>of sixteen, if they and there are a lot of
<v Speaker 2>men that go to different countries because the age of consent,
<v Speaker 2>age of consent being lower. And I learned this about
<v Speaker 2>Dominican Republic recently from TikTok. I learned this because I
<v Speaker 2>knew about people going to the Philippines and going to
<v Speaker 2>Thailand because my dad is one of those sex tourist
<v Speaker 2>guys that goes there for that. And I was so
<v Speaker 2>disturbed to find out that there are so many men
<v Speaker 2>that do that because you're taking advantage of a lot
<v Speaker 2>of women that are forced into this lifestyle. And a
<v Speaker 2>lot of men try to say, like, oh, I'm helping
<v Speaker 2>them by giving them money, But you could give them
<v Speaker 2>money without fucking them, you know that, right, Like I
<v Speaker 2>just it's weird. And anyway, point being, I learned about
<v Speaker 2>Dominican Republic. A lot of guys go on like a
<v Speaker 2>bachelor's party trip or whatever because the age of consent
<v Speaker 2>is very low there, so they can like legally have
<v Speaker 2>sex with like fourteen and.
<v Speaker 1>They're like it's fine because like to them, that's what's
<v Speaker 1>it's disgusting.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so point being people are gross. I know that
<v Speaker 2>the guy in the last episode was not an asshole. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>some good ones, but there's a lot of bad ones exactly.
<v Speaker 2>So those were my comments about that. And so we're
<v Speaker 2>gonna take a little break and when we get back
<v Speaker 2>we will get into the recap. So brush up on
<v Speaker 2>your Espanol while we're gone.
<v Speaker 3>Welcome back to but I'm a Lesbian. This week we
<v Speaker 3>are discussing Carmen and Lola.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, hey, so, oh my god, I see my hot take.
<v Speaker 1>I wanted them to have a happy Endaye. So the
<v Speaker 1>film starts with a woman in traditional romani attire and
<v Speaker 1>she's sitting on her bed and other women are singing
<v Speaker 1>like a wedding song, like they're basically saying like she's
<v Speaker 1>gonna get married, and they're like they have everybody, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>everybody in here can sing. I feel like they all
<v Speaker 1>sounded pretty good when they started singing, like they just
<v Speaker 1>started singing out of nowhere, and I'm like, wow.
<v Speaker 3>That's so interesting.
<v Speaker 2>No, well, because I have seen this like stereotype, but
<v Speaker 2>also like my cousin that's Filipino has posted about it,
<v Speaker 2>like apparently a lot of Filipino people are really good singers.
<v Speaker 2>I've heard that a lot of Filipinos and Filipino men
<v Speaker 2>and so like they are really good at karaoke, like
<v Speaker 2>and so I was like, well, maybe Romani people.
<v Speaker 1>Are also also good. And we didn't know that's write
<v Speaker 1>I was. I thought you were gonna say no, I
<v Speaker 1>didn't think they sounded that they sound a great Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, wow, Okay, So I think like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>maybe because you know, they say you can teach yourself
<v Speaker 1>how to sing too, and like in their culture, like
<v Speaker 1>it seems like there's a lot of singing that goes on,
<v Speaker 1>Like they have very like specific songs that like everybody knows,
<v Speaker 1>which I think goes the same favorite culture. But like
<v Speaker 1>I feel like they grew up singing, so maybe that's
<v Speaker 1>why we should have grown up singing.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, apparently I sing like a man, so I would
<v Speaker 2>maybe not fit in.
<v Speaker 1>And no, you have range because you can do Jessica Simpson.
<v Speaker 2>I could do like a Brittany like a y Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>You could, I dare I say, you could even do
<v Speaker 1>Christina Aguilera no little bit, Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>You could you try easy parts of the Christina, but
<v Speaker 2>when she does the high parts, then I'm like goodbye.
<v Speaker 2>You're like no, no whistle, no right, no, no Maria Carrie,
<v Speaker 2>no Ariana Grande, no Christina.
<v Speaker 3>When she's not just doing what.
<v Speaker 2>A girl wants, hearts now AnyWho, they're really god, yeah
<v Speaker 2>they are.
<v Speaker 3>They're sinning.
<v Speaker 1>So then the woman wakes up and begins getting dressed.
<v Speaker 1>We learned that her name is Carmen, and she is
<v Speaker 1>going to get engaged, and it's like a very big thing.
<v Speaker 1>They it's not just they at like the your fiance,
<v Speaker 1>your boyfriend asks you to marry him. It's like two
<v Speaker 1>families have to get the approval and there's like a
<v Speaker 1>huge party, and it's like they come to the girlfriend's
<v Speaker 1>house and it's like a whole it's like a whole thing.
<v Speaker 3>Honestly, it's kind of like partly like arranged.
<v Speaker 1>By the family. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>It's like yeah, okay, that's cool, I'll talk to the
<v Speaker 2>other dad.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and we'll like get the approval.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>So she's getting dressed and she's very happy and she
<v Speaker 1>is trying to speak to her boyfriend out there, which
<v Speaker 1>I thought was really funny, even though they are a
<v Speaker 1>boyfriend and girlfriend. She was trying to talk to him
<v Speaker 1>outside like from a distance, and her mom was like
<v Speaker 1>scolding her, being like, don't push it, like you're already
<v Speaker 1>gonna get like proposed in a month. And I'm like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like I think that's a little but you know,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I think this is showing that her family
<v Speaker 1>is very strict and they're following Romani culture. So then
<v Speaker 1>we see another woman by the name of Lola. She's
<v Speaker 1>at the market. Her dad and her mom sell fruits
<v Speaker 1>and vegetables and she also does the same. So we
<v Speaker 1>see that she's also into graffiti, which I think is
<v Speaker 1>really cool because she's really good at it. Esah, like
<v Speaker 1>she's very talented. So her family is also super traditional
<v Speaker 1>as well, and but her mom is a little bit
<v Speaker 1>less traditional like she is, but she also wants Lola
<v Speaker 1>to continue going to school and like do something and
<v Speaker 1>not just like be a housewife and yeah, not have
<v Speaker 1>her education. But the dad's like I hate her father.
<v Speaker 1>He does not care at all. He's just like why
<v Speaker 1>does she even need that, Like, yeah, she's going to
<v Speaker 1>go to school. He's like she should already be married
<v Speaker 1>off because like they bring this up a lot. Then
<v Speaker 1>at their age, they were already married at fourteen and
<v Speaker 1>like started their family and that's what they should also do.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, so this is when I realized that they were.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you're like, oh shit, okay, yeah, and so yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I hate her dad. He sucks. He is very mean
<v Speaker 1>and like you said, he's mean to the mom as well.
<v Speaker 1>But the mom also goes along with that too, because
<v Speaker 1>I mean, what else can she do?
<v Speaker 3>So break out of it?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, like her I mean, I think a divorce is
<v Speaker 1>like unheard of.
<v Speaker 2>Probably yeah, probably they would try to take her and
<v Speaker 2>get an exorcism if she tried to get it.
<v Speaker 1>They're like, she's sinning right now. Yeah, oh my gosh.
<v Speaker 1>So Lola goes to like this internet cafe thing and
<v Speaker 1>she rents a computer and she's watching lesbian porn. It's
<v Speaker 1>like she's like trying to it's almost like a cubicle
<v Speaker 1>kind of because like the way they have it is
<v Speaker 1>like some privacy, right and unless the person behind you
<v Speaker 1>is like looking at you, but there's nobody, and so
<v Speaker 1>she's like looking up BLESSI and porn. So we're like okay,
<v Speaker 1>And later that day she goes to the market to
<v Speaker 1>work and she meets Carmen and she's immediately attracted to her.
<v Speaker 1>She's like staring at her, which is a very lesbian thing.
<v Speaker 2>I know, it's giving and you literally she's just like like.
<v Speaker 1>This show like she's just like attracted her. And Carmen's
<v Speaker 1>a little flirty too. I feel like, wasn't she Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but I think that's just like her personality. Oh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>So this seems like they're flirting in my opinion. And
<v Speaker 1>then I said, hey, Lola's dad, he's such a man derogatory.
<v Speaker 1>The next day, Lola looks for Carmen and they go
<v Speaker 1>smoke and they get to know each other, and Carmen
<v Speaker 1>tells Lola that she's getting engaged next month and asked
<v Speaker 1>her if she has a boyfriend or if she's also
<v Speaker 1>going to get engaged, and Lula's like, no, I don't
<v Speaker 1>want to do that.
<v Speaker 2>It just made me think of you know, those TikTok
<v Speaker 2>videos where it's like when my grandma asked me if
<v Speaker 2>I have a boyfriend, It's like I am the boyfriend.
<v Speaker 1>I know.
<v Speaker 3>I was like, no, I could be your boyfriend.
<v Speaker 1>She's like, I know, literally, I feel like she's already
<v Speaker 1>like drawn to her, so she's just like, you know, okay,
<v Speaker 1>And then I thought that was funny because Krmen was like,
<v Speaker 1>you're not ugly, like, you're actually attractive, So why why
<v Speaker 1>aren't you getting married or.
<v Speaker 3>Any what a nice compliment. You're not ugly, you're actually
<v Speaker 3>kind of good looking.
<v Speaker 1>It's like you should be getting engaged, Like what's going on.
<v Speaker 1>So then they talk about what it is like to
<v Speaker 1>be Gypsies and that the Whities are like they don't
<v Speaker 1>tolerate them basically, even though like they're literally everybody is
<v Speaker 1>a person, but you know, I feel like they everybody
<v Speaker 1>in their community, the Romani community has that sense of
<v Speaker 1>like that white people look down on them. Yeah, And
<v Speaker 1>so the next day, little Carmen tries to find a job,
<v Speaker 1>but the white people are racist towards her, and so
<v Speaker 1>she knocks stuff down and she's just like fuck you basically.
<v Speaker 2>Which also reminded me of in Monster, Oh My God.
<v Speaker 2>Goes and tries to get a job and then that
<v Speaker 2>guy has a jerk and then she's like, whatever, fuck you.
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to work for your stupid I know.
<v Speaker 1>And she got all dressed up too, and she was
<v Speaker 1>feel so sad about that. You need to do like
<v Speaker 1>revisit Monster.
<v Speaker 3>My God, it's also so sad. That was another movie
<v Speaker 3>like JA. Women were like, I love it, and then
<v Speaker 3>we were like, this is the saddest movie ever.
<v Speaker 1>Why are we doing this? I know we like to
<v Speaker 1>torture ourselves.
<v Speaker 2>I know.
<v Speaker 1>Well, yeah, there's that stereotype a lot of lesbian movies.
<v Speaker 1>Her gay movies are like tragic, I know, and that's true.
<v Speaker 3>I know. We're trying to get away from that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>So the next day, Carmen's mom scolds her because Carmen
<v Speaker 1>doesn't want to clean, and she's like, why do I
<v Speaker 1>need to do this? And her mom's like, you need
<v Speaker 1>to be like the traditional wife. You need to cook
<v Speaker 1>for him, you need to clean, you need to like
<v Speaker 1>not embarrass me. I'm raising you better than this, Like
<v Speaker 1>they he better not come to me like complaining, or
<v Speaker 1>my or your mother in law either. And Carmen's just
<v Speaker 1>like I don't give a fuck. She's like, I'm not
<v Speaker 1>gonna clean. I'm not gonna do all that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And so Carmen's engagement day finally arrives and all of
<v Speaker 1>her friends and family are getting ready, and her boyfriend's
<v Speaker 1>family gathers, and we learn that her soon to be fiance.
<v Speaker 1>Rafa is Lola's cousin, which Lola didn't know and neither
<v Speaker 1>did Carmen. So they obviously go to her house and
<v Speaker 1>the two the dads talk and they're like, well, they're
<v Speaker 1>already dating, so they want to get engaged. Should we
<v Speaker 1>let them get engaged? And then he's like, yeah, let's
<v Speaker 1>do it. And then everybody celebrates and they're dancing and
<v Speaker 1>they're like, oh my god. And Lola seems sad because
<v Speaker 1>she's like, oh shit, like the girl that I like
<v Speaker 1>is gonna marry my cousin. And I don't like Rafa either.
<v Speaker 1>He's kind of an asshole, but.
<v Speaker 3>I mean he's a teenager.
<v Speaker 1>He's a teenage boy, So I'm like, okay, I guess
<v Speaker 1>that's not great. Yeah, I know, right. So then Lola
<v Speaker 1>goes around town and begins drawing birds, like she's doing
<v Speaker 1>graffiti of birds, because Carmen has these hearings that are
<v Speaker 1>like little birds and they're really cute.
<v Speaker 3>It's so lesbian. It is like, wow, weird this little detail.
<v Speaker 3>And she's like.
<v Speaker 1>Birds everywhere, Like she starts drawing birds in class and
<v Speaker 1>she's just like obsessed. So then she goes back to
<v Speaker 1>the Internet, and she's on this like chat room, which
<v Speaker 1>is funny because the chat rooms come up even though.
<v Speaker 2>This is like I feel like it's just it's more recent,
<v Speaker 2>like this movie came out in twenty eighteen. But it's
<v Speaker 2>also showing that, like they are from kind of a
<v Speaker 2>poor area that's sort of you have to go to
<v Speaker 2>the internet cafe still, whereas most people in like America
<v Speaker 2>or in Spain have access to the Internet like at
<v Speaker 2>their home, but because of their community being like less wealthy, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>they have to go there and they.
<v Speaker 1>Have to go.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, but I didn't realize chat rooms we're still a thing.
<v Speaker 2>But I have this thing where I think when I'm
<v Speaker 2>not into something, it's not cool, so.
<v Speaker 1>It doesn't exist.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, So I haven't been in a chat room since
<v Speaker 2>I was like, you know, sixteen maybe, so I'm like
<v Speaker 2>chatrooms don't exist.
<v Speaker 3>They do exist too, And Laa's in the yes.
<v Speaker 1>So she's say one yeah kay, yeah, yeah yea. So
<v Speaker 1>she's in the chat room and she's like kind of
<v Speaker 1>making plans with this other person to hang out, and
<v Speaker 1>that person's just like, yeah, we could like get a hotel,
<v Speaker 1>we can be there for a couple of days and
<v Speaker 1>then She's like the other person's asking her like is
<v Speaker 1>she like pretty and you know all this other stuff,
<v Speaker 1>and Lola's just like she just leaves a chat.
<v Speaker 3>She's like she's like I'm just gonna yeah.
<v Speaker 1>She's like okay. So then once again at the market,
<v Speaker 1>Carmen and Lola meet up and Carmen asked Lola to
<v Speaker 1>tell her about Rafa, like does he have somebody else
<v Speaker 1>on the side, Like is he a good person? I'm
<v Speaker 1>like okay. Lola's like, yeah, he's a good guy and
<v Speaker 1>like he hasn't been with anybody else from what she knows,
<v Speaker 1>and so they're bonding. But then that night, Lola staring
<v Speaker 1>out a picture of Carmen and I said, so gay, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>like I was zooming in the photo.
<v Speaker 3>She's like, wow, oh my god, we did you watch
<v Speaker 3>The Hunting Wives?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, okay, remember, oh my god, Brittany Snow is like
<v Speaker 2>zooming in on Marlowe, Margot Margot, Margo's thing.
<v Speaker 3>That's what I was like, everything reminds me of something else.
<v Speaker 1>Girl, I know my name is That's what I was
<v Speaker 1>thinking of. That stupid TikTok. What it's like this early
<v Speaker 1>now I can't remember the sound, but I feel like,
<v Speaker 1>my name is Margo something. It's so dumb off to show. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>you probably heard of it. I feel like I vaguely
<v Speaker 1>remember anyway, but it did remind me of that. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>So she's just like, wow, I love Carmen zoom in
<v Speaker 1>like super zoomed in when I And so, where's she
<v Speaker 1>zoomed in on the picture? She's looking at her? And
<v Speaker 1>then at the school we see Lola's friend Paki. She's
<v Speaker 1>tutoring a student and she's like kind of yelling at
<v Speaker 1>the student kind of, but like she's like, come on.
<v Speaker 1>And so Paki and Lola hang out and they discuss
<v Speaker 1>their future, and I really like Pakia. I think she's
<v Speaker 1>a good friend because she's telling Lola, you are different
<v Speaker 1>and you actually have the balls to get out of here,
<v Speaker 1>and Lola's just like, why would I want to leave
<v Speaker 1>my family and my friends are here, and you know,
<v Speaker 1>like what else can I do? And Paki's like, well,
<v Speaker 1>you know, are like people don't understand people like you,
<v Speaker 1>which I feel like Paki knows that Lola is like different,
<v Speaker 1>like she probably knows it she's gay, maybe even she
<v Speaker 1>hasn't said it, like, you know, explicitly, but She's also like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, you can do something, And Lola said that
<v Speaker 1>she would want to study birds, which I think is
<v Speaker 1>cute because she's like, birds are beautiful. I have this
<v Speaker 1>like new found obsession with them.
<v Speaker 3>Remind me of this girl, Carmen.
<v Speaker 1>And so she tells her that and yeah, she says,
<v Speaker 1>the birds are beautiful. The next day, Carmen's sister wakes
<v Speaker 1>her up to show her outside there is a beautiful
<v Speaker 1>drawing of a heart with birds and Carmen's name, so cute,
<v Speaker 1>and Carmen's so happy because she thinks it's Rafa, but
<v Speaker 1>it's not. It's Lola. Yes, Lola does graffiti. And so
<v Speaker 1>the next day they're hanging out or no, that same
<v Speaker 1>day they're hanging out and she sees Lola's hands or
<v Speaker 1>like painted and she's like.
<v Speaker 3>What is that?
<v Speaker 1>And Lola didn't say anything, but Carmen puts two and
<v Speaker 1>two together and is like, you were the one who
<v Speaker 1>did that, Like, why are you drawing hearts with my name?
<v Speaker 1>You only draw hearts for people that you love. And
<v Speaker 1>Lola's like kind of says nothing. She just says like
<v Speaker 1>she's sorry, and Karmen's just like, oh, you're one of
<v Speaker 1>those people. I think she's like, yeah, no, she's like
<v Speaker 1>you people like you make me sick, Like I'm not
<v Speaker 1>like you, I'm a normal girl. Like that's disgusting.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I think she also calls her a dyke too, and
<v Speaker 1>she's just like no. And then Lola says like nothing
<v Speaker 1>other than she's sorry, and she's like everybody saw this
<v Speaker 1>and they think it's rafa, Like they think that it's rafa,
<v Speaker 1>and so she doesn't say anything and she just leaves
<v Speaker 1>Lola and it was really sad. So Lola is depressed
<v Speaker 1>in her room because the girl that she likes basically
<v Speaker 1>was so fucking rude. It was such a bitch to her. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>And so Lola's mom calls Paky over because Lola will
<v Speaker 1>not come out of her room. And then Lola confides
<v Speaker 1>to her about what happened, and Packy comforts her because
<v Speaker 1>she's just like I don't care, you know, but poor Lola.
<v Speaker 1>And so then the elders are speaking about how things
<v Speaker 1>used to be, like getting married at fourteen through arranged marriages,
<v Speaker 1>and then wow, the good days. They're like nowadays they
<v Speaker 1>actually talk to each other and tell them that they
<v Speaker 1>like tell each other they want to get married and
<v Speaker 1>then get approval. Can you believe that they are consenting
<v Speaker 1>through the whole process?
<v Speaker 3>Why?
<v Speaker 1>Right to my.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>So then Carmen, while the elders are talking, Carmen confronts
<v Speaker 1>Rafa about him flirting with another girl, and she's like,
<v Speaker 1>what the fuck are you doing? And he's like, oh, well,
<v Speaker 1>I just flirt with her because you know how she gets.
<v Speaker 1>And she's like, no, you shouldn't be flirting with anybody.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna get married, and she doesn't back down, but
<v Speaker 1>he's like, I'll do what I want and you need
<v Speaker 1>to show me respect. All you need to do is
<v Speaker 1>be a good like gypsy housewife basically, like take care
<v Speaker 1>of the kids, cook and respect me. And she's just
<v Speaker 1>like what the fuck.
<v Speaker 3>She's like, maybe that's not what I want. Yeah, Like
<v Speaker 3>she told her mom she doesn't want to Yeah, she
<v Speaker 3>already had that, like.
<v Speaker 2>You know that.
<v Speaker 1>She doesn't want to do any of that, but she
<v Speaker 1>still wants to get married. So meanwhile, Lola still depressed
<v Speaker 1>and does not want to go to Rafa's birthday party,
<v Speaker 1>but her mom is just like, no, you're gonna go.
<v Speaker 1>I bought you these shoes, so get up and get ready.
<v Speaker 1>So of course she has to. At the party, though,
<v Speaker 1>Carmen attempts to like smooth things over with Lola, but
<v Speaker 1>she makes it clear she's like I'm still a normal girl,
<v Speaker 1>like I'm not like you, and these are like you
<v Speaker 1>better not cross the line. And I love that Lola
<v Speaker 1>said this because she's just like you've got it twisted,
<v Speaker 1>like you're reading into things. And so then they're okay,
<v Speaker 1>but like Lola's like, girl, I don't want you, even
<v Speaker 1>though she does. So the next day they meet up
<v Speaker 1>in a secluded area and they talk about Lola being
<v Speaker 1>a lesbian and Carmen's like, have you ever had a girlfriend?
<v Speaker 1>Have you ever kissed a girl? And Lola's just like no,
<v Speaker 1>And Carmen's like, well, then how do you know that
<v Speaker 1>you actually like girls? And Lola's like the same way
<v Speaker 1>that you like Rafa, Like how do you know that?
<v Speaker 1>She's like yeah, She's like it's the same way that
<v Speaker 1>you like Rafa. But also, how do you know you
<v Speaker 1>don't like girls? You've never kissed a girl? And so
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, oh my god. They so like each other.
<v Speaker 1>So then they kiss, but they give each other like
<v Speaker 1>just a little kiss, and they're both like wow, that sucked,
<v Speaker 1>like because we're not like we need to kiss better.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>So then they kiss again, and this time I think
<v Speaker 1>obviously you can tell it was just like oh.
<v Speaker 3>And Carmen.
<v Speaker 1>I think you can tell that as well too. So
<v Speaker 1>then at the market. They're always at the market. I literally, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>well that's their job there.
<v Speaker 3>It's like the probably there's not a lot of places like.
<v Speaker 1>The hot spot like to meet people. I think, So
<v Speaker 1>at the market, Lola and Carmen sneak away, but Lola
<v Speaker 1>gets upset when Carmen was like, oh yeah, I was
<v Speaker 1>like making out with Rava. I was like doing this whatever,
<v Speaker 1>and Lola was like, why the fuck are you telling
<v Speaker 1>me that. Yeah, Karmen's like you're my friend. We're allowed
<v Speaker 1>to talk about this like stuff with each other. That
<v Speaker 1>kiss was like nothing like whatever. But then they like
<v Speaker 1>kind of Carmen kind of like runs away a little
<v Speaker 1>bit and Lola like catches up to her, and then
<v Speaker 1>they kiss again, and I'm like, oh my god, there's
<v Speaker 1>so much chemistry between them, and so they begin I said,
<v Speaker 1>they end up making out, though they begin spending more
<v Speaker 1>time with each other, with Lola taking Carmen to like
<v Speaker 1>secluded places to be alone and like kiss and like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, be with each other. However, a nosey ass
<v Speaker 1>lady past is by one day and sees them, and yeah,
<v Speaker 1>how the hell she even saw them in there?
<v Speaker 3>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>It was crazy, and I'm like, how are you gonna?
<v Speaker 3>Okay?
<v Speaker 1>But like they're obviously making out and that lady sees them,
<v Speaker 1>excuse me.
<v Speaker 3>And so.
<v Speaker 1>The following day they skip school and they watch planes
<v Speaker 1>go by and they're like holding hands and it's really cute,
<v Speaker 1>like they're so adventurous. And so then Lola takes Carmen
<v Speaker 1>to like an abandoned pool that has no water because
<v Speaker 1>Carmen doesn't how to swim, so she's teaching her how
<v Speaker 1>to swim and they're like dancing and it's super cute.
<v Speaker 1>They're just having fun. And then Lola invites Carmen to
<v Speaker 1>spend the night and I so, oh my god, girls night.
<v Speaker 1>It's always good night. And so at the dinner table,
<v Speaker 1>the dad, I still hate him. He's just like asking Carmen,
<v Speaker 1>like how's your family doing and all that, and the brother,
<v Speaker 1>Lola's brother keeps staring at Carmen and Carmen because she's pretty, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>because she's pretty, and he's just like staring at her,
<v Speaker 1>and Laula's like, what are you staring at? Stop it?
<v Speaker 3>And so that's my girl.
<v Speaker 1>She's like, don't look it. And it made me laugh
<v Speaker 1>because Lola's mom was like, are you sure you guys
<v Speaker 1>are gonna fit in that tiny bed? Like when if
<v Speaker 1>you could sleep on the couch and the other can
<v Speaker 1>take the bed, and Laua's like, no, we'll fit.
<v Speaker 3>Like we're going We're not worried about it.
<v Speaker 1>She's like, no, it's totally fine, and yeah, they do
<v Speaker 1>kind of look down and they're like smiling. And so
<v Speaker 1>that night that day, it looks like it's the next
<v Speaker 1>day ready because it seems like it's night, I mean
<v Speaker 1>it's daytime, and Lola's drawing birds on Carmen's feet and
<v Speaker 1>she helps her like put on a shirt because Karmen
<v Speaker 1>doesn't have like a top on, and I feel like
<v Speaker 1>maybe they were trying to obviously say that they did
<v Speaker 1>stuff like they had sex, but like without it being
<v Speaker 1>like a sex scene. And so after this, Carmen kind
<v Speaker 1>of goes Lola. She doesn't respond to her text messages.
<v Speaker 1>So Lola goes by and sees her and tries to
<v Speaker 1>like talk to her, and Carmen just like ignores her.
<v Speaker 1>So then Lola is like crying and breaks a window
<v Speaker 1>out of frustration, and I feel like that's so sad,
<v Speaker 1>like you know. And then Carmen goes outside and sees
<v Speaker 1>that Lola has written I've already forgotten you by the
<v Speaker 1>drawing of the heart with her name. And so the
<v Speaker 1>next day Carmen breaks it off with Ralpha, like she
<v Speaker 1>says nothing. He's just like is it another guide. He's
<v Speaker 1>like yelling at her and he's like, you know what,
<v Speaker 1>you didn't break up with me. I broke up with you, okay, whatever,
<v Speaker 1>And she's just standing there like all right, and she
<v Speaker 1>goes back in and I'm like, so then she Lola
<v Speaker 1>gets a text to go to her patio, so she
<v Speaker 1>goes out and she sees that Carmen wrote I cannot
<v Speaker 1>I can't forget you on the wall and so she's
<v Speaker 1>so happy because she's like, oh my god. And then
<v Speaker 1>they are talking and they're asking each other like what
<v Speaker 1>do we do because obviously it's not just like we're friends,
<v Speaker 1>like we kind of love each other, yeah, and Lola's like, well,
<v Speaker 1>I know that I want to be with you, like
<v Speaker 1>that's all I know. And so obviously Carmen says the
<v Speaker 1>same thing, and she gives Lola a love note and
<v Speaker 1>tells her not to read it yet until she gets home,
<v Speaker 1>because she says there's a lot of spelling errors, but
<v Speaker 1>it's so cute that she try, and she's just like here, like,
<v Speaker 1>here's my note. So then at home, Lola's reading it
<v Speaker 1>and it's a really sweet no because they're declaring their
<v Speaker 1>love for each other, and so Lola's like writing back
<v Speaker 1>and she's just like, I hope you know that, like
<v Speaker 1>I'm telling you that I love you, and like if
<v Speaker 1>we could get married, I would marry you. And I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my gosh, it is so sweet, and so then
<v Speaker 1>they Oh, but before that, when Carmen gives Lola her note,
<v Speaker 1>she forgets to pick up her sister at school, and
<v Speaker 1>so then her dad starts yelling at her, and the
<v Speaker 1>mom is yelling at her as well, saying like you're
<v Speaker 1>so different, You're up to something you called off the way,
<v Speaker 1>and like now you forget to pick up your sister
<v Speaker 1>and it's like so weird. So then she is grounded
<v Speaker 1>because she forgot to pick up her sister one time
<v Speaker 1>and so yeah, so she read it. So then at home,
<v Speaker 1>when Lola's writing her response, she like puts it away
<v Speaker 1>in like a little box and she like hides it.
<v Speaker 1>So at the school now, Carmen is venting to Paki
<v Speaker 1>and Lola about how she's grown, and she's like, I'm
<v Speaker 1>not going to be like confined to my house, Like
<v Speaker 1>it's stupid. I don't understand why I'm being punished. But
<v Speaker 1>Pocky calms her down and it's like, you should probably
<v Speaker 1>go back home before you get in trouble and you know,
<v Speaker 1>just let things like let them calm down first of all.
<v Speaker 1>And so Lola goes home and finds that her mother
<v Speaker 1>has read Carmen's letter this nosy bit. Yeah. She like
<v Speaker 1>walks into her room and sees like her stuff on
<v Speaker 1>her bed and she's like, oh my god. And then
<v Speaker 1>her mom comes in holding the letter and she's like,
<v Speaker 1>what is the meaning of this, Like what do you
<v Speaker 1>mean you love another girl? And she's crying, like begging
<v Speaker 1>Lola to say, like, please tell me it's not true.
<v Speaker 1>And then she reveals that nosey ass lady Maria is
<v Speaker 1>telling everybody in the neighborhood that there dou she saw
<v Speaker 1>Lola and Carmen doing things that they're not supposed to
<v Speaker 1>be doing, and then the mom finding the letter confirmed
<v Speaker 1>that she's gay, and so here's my beef with her.
<v Speaker 1>She's such a fucking bitch because she's saying that she
<v Speaker 1>loves Lola and then she doesn't want it to be
<v Speaker 1>true and that if her dad finds out that, like
<v Speaker 1>he's gonna kill both of them. Yeah, but she's like,
<v Speaker 1>I have to tell your father. Yeah, you stupid fucking bitch. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>It's like.
<v Speaker 2>She doesn't want to get any more trouble with her
<v Speaker 2>husband because if he then found out that she knew
<v Speaker 2>and didn't tell. Yeah, So it's like she's kind of
<v Speaker 2>sacrificing her daughter so that she might get the brunt
<v Speaker 2>of it.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like, yeah, it's so fucked up because Lola's
<v Speaker 1>like please, like, you cannot, you can't tell dad, but
<v Speaker 1>her mom starts getting so her mom starts getting more upset,
<v Speaker 1>and she eventually like goes to liv room to tell
<v Speaker 1>her dad, and her dad is furious. He's like what
<v Speaker 1>the fuck, Like, first of all, he blames a mom
<v Speaker 1>and he's like, it's your fault that she's like this,
<v Speaker 1>you fucking pig and then he's like, it's also a
<v Speaker 1>pockey's fault, that's slut and I'm like, what does she
<v Speaker 1>have to do with it? And so then he drags
<v Speaker 1>her outside and he is like trying to get her
<v Speaker 1>into the van because he's going to take her to church,
<v Speaker 1>and everybody is outside watching. It's like a whole scene,
<v Speaker 1>and the mom is like trying to get him to
<v Speaker 1>be like, oh my god, where are you taking her?
<v Speaker 1>She's like crying, and the dad takes her to church,
<v Speaker 1>but the pastor is not there, he's visiting family. So
<v Speaker 1>then they get another He tells the issue to the
<v Speaker 1>woman and then they begin praying over her and saying
<v Speaker 1>that there's like basically a conversion like therapy camp that
<v Speaker 1>she can be sent to so that she can be
<v Speaker 1>cured because she's sick. And the dad's like very aggressive
<v Speaker 1>with her, like he's like tossing her around and like
<v Speaker 1>grabbing her and they're praying and he's like crying, and
<v Speaker 1>she's just like, oh my god, I'm not sick, Like
<v Speaker 1>what the fuck. So then Packy looks out the window
<v Speaker 1>and sees Lola's mom pacing around, so she's like, let
<v Speaker 1>me go see what's going on?
<v Speaker 3>So weird?
<v Speaker 1>She's like, what's going on? I know, She's literally just
<v Speaker 1>like walking around. So then Pocky goes to talk to her,
<v Speaker 1>and the mom's like this is all your fucking faults,
<v Speaker 1>Like this is your fault. Paki doesn't know what the
<v Speaker 1>fuck is going on, ye, so she's like, uh, what's
<v Speaker 1>my fault? And then meanwhile, Carmen is upstairs like you know,
<v Speaker 1>like listening to everything at the school. And so just
<v Speaker 1>as Lola's mom is telling her that the dad and
<v Speaker 1>mom come back and I mean Lola and the dad
<v Speaker 1>come back, and he starts yelling at Pocky too, and
<v Speaker 1>Lola's like running behind Pockey and it's like this big
<v Speaker 1>scene and he's basically just owning Lola. He's like, I
<v Speaker 1>will deny that I am your father for one hundred
<v Speaker 1>and one years. And the mom is just like telling
<v Speaker 1>Pocky like just take her go, like please let her go,
<v Speaker 1>because Paki said, why don't you let her come to
<v Speaker 1>my house for a couple of days and you know,
<v Speaker 1>just till everything cools off. And but they basically are
<v Speaker 1>like hysterical and disown her. Yeah, and Carmen is upstairs
<v Speaker 1>like crying listening to this because she's like holy fuck.
<v Speaker 1>So they all go to Paki's apartment and Lola is
<v Speaker 1>like in a state of shock, like she's not responding
<v Speaker 1>to anybody because she's like, holy fuck, like I lost
<v Speaker 1>my family. And so upstairs, Paki is like trying to
<v Speaker 1>call somebody and say, like I don't know what to do,
<v Speaker 1>like I really don't know, like what's going on. And
<v Speaker 1>so at this point, I think we can assume everybody
<v Speaker 1>in the neighborhood knows what's going on, because Maria told
<v Speaker 1>everybody that knows that neighbor and they saw what was
<v Speaker 1>going on. And so Lola still isn't saying anything. She's
<v Speaker 1>just looking out the window and Carmen's just trying to
<v Speaker 1>comfort her. And it's nighttime. They're sleeping, and Carmen wakes
<v Speaker 1>her up and she like, come on, we gotta go,
<v Speaker 1>and she takes Paki's money but like says thank you,
<v Speaker 1>like writes her little thank you note, and they are
<v Speaker 1>on a bus and they're just like talking to each
<v Speaker 1>other and they see that there's like the beach and
<v Speaker 1>they're like, oh, it's beautiful, and it's so sad, like
<v Speaker 1>I can see why the first time around, but okay,
<v Speaker 1>let me finish, and so like I'm getting ahead of
<v Speaker 1>myself here. So they're on the bus and they see
<v Speaker 1>the beach and they're like, oh, it's beautiful. It's like
<v Speaker 1>better than the movies. And so they get off and
<v Speaker 1>they're like running into the water, holding hands, and that
<v Speaker 1>is how it ends. And the first time I hated it,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, no, that's I know that they're have to
<v Speaker 1>deal with everything, but I think this time around, it's
<v Speaker 1>just I mean, that's like realistic. It's what you can expect.
<v Speaker 1>It's not necessarily a happy ending, but it's like what
<v Speaker 1>else can they do. They're teenagers, they're just trying to
<v Speaker 1>like find some comfort in the situation.
<v Speaker 3>So did you take the ending as they were going
<v Speaker 3>to go back at some point or that they were.
<v Speaker 1>For me, I felt like they were going to run
<v Speaker 1>away and they wanted to like stop somewhere. But then
<v Speaker 1>I also felt like maybe they were like we just
<v Speaker 1>need to get away for right now or something. But
<v Speaker 1>she did take the money, So yeah, what did you
<v Speaker 1>feel like?
<v Speaker 2>Well, that's why the first time I watched it, I
<v Speaker 2>guess I took it as they were just they took
<v Speaker 2>the money to go on like a day trip. But
<v Speaker 2>I thought they were going to go back to the
<v Speaker 2>town and the family, and I didn't like the ending
<v Speaker 2>because I was like, it's toxic there. But then the
<v Speaker 2>second time I watched it, I was like, I think,
<v Speaker 2>maybe I'm supposed to interpret it as this is the
<v Speaker 2>beginning of their running away to be together, and so
<v Speaker 2>I hope that they're starting a new life. So then
<v Speaker 2>I thought of it more as a happy ending because
<v Speaker 2>I was like, they are going to like start a
<v Speaker 2>life in this seaside town and like get jobs and
<v Speaker 2>have this like be able to be themselves kind of
<v Speaker 2>maybe like boring type of life, but it's like a
<v Speaker 2>life where they can be together. So yeah, I think
<v Speaker 2>the first time I took it not as happy as
<v Speaker 2>I did the second time. So I hope that they
<v Speaker 2>are running away.
<v Speaker 1>From me too. You know what we made that new
<v Speaker 1>ending they did, Like you said, they're gonna get jobs, Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>They're gonna live by the sea.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and they both seem to really like it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>After you know, Lola talk, Carmen had to swim. Yeah, so.
<v Speaker 3>You need to learn how to. I know, I only
<v Speaker 3>found that out, like oh I know, yeah, we were
<v Speaker 3>talking about it.
<v Speaker 1>I do need to learn how to swim. I don't
<v Speaker 1>care she is trying to teach me. But she's also like,
<v Speaker 1>you have to get over your fear too, because that's
<v Speaker 1>what's holding you back. Because when she did try to
<v Speaker 1>teach me, I was not a very good like listener.
<v Speaker 1>I was just like, no, I can't do it. No,
<v Speaker 1>I can't do it. No, I'm scared, like I can't
<v Speaker 1>do it.
<v Speaker 3>It's the same. I know you're an adult and I
<v Speaker 3>don't know if you like to be compared to a.
<v Speaker 2>Kid, but that's the same way that my nieces she
<v Speaker 2>could not like and she's done some swimming lessons, but
<v Speaker 2>she gets really in her head and she's like scared,
<v Speaker 2>so like she doesn't like she loves to go in
<v Speaker 2>the water, but she only wants to go in the
<v Speaker 2>kiddie pool or like the hot tub because she's scared
<v Speaker 2>of being in too deep because she doesn't trust her
<v Speaker 2>like swimming skills. And we're like, oh, I think you
<v Speaker 2>know how to do it, like we've shown you, but
<v Speaker 2>I think she like gets scared and she freaks out.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, So a lot of it is when she gets to.
<v Speaker 2>High school and has to do swimming class if she's
<v Speaker 2>gonna be so.
<v Speaker 1>Scared, but the fact that you guys are showing her
<v Speaker 1>at her age and I feel like eventually she will
<v Speaker 1>get over that fear, especially if you're like consistent with it,
<v Speaker 1>where she's like, okay, I can trust myself. I'm doing good.
<v Speaker 1>So maybe by high school she'll be a really good swimmer.
<v Speaker 2>I hope so because I bought her one hundred dollars
<v Speaker 2>bathing suit that she put on her Christmas list from
<v Speaker 2>Pink Palm Puff.
<v Speaker 3>She's manifesting a swim because you have this expensive bathing suit.
<v Speaker 1>That would be her motivation. Okay, she will.
<v Speaker 3>I was like, you need to learn okay, so so
<v Speaker 3>out of.
<v Speaker 1>Nowhere, you're like you need to learn how to sorry,
<v Speaker 1>because you.
<v Speaker 3>Were like she's teaching her how to swim and blah
<v Speaker 3>blah blah.
<v Speaker 2>And I was thinking about how you told me that
<v Speaker 2>Yami was trying to teach you how to swim, and
<v Speaker 2>I was like, that's kind of like sweet and romantic, even.
<v Speaker 3>Though you're like, oh, I'm gonna drum, I know, I'm.
<v Speaker 1>So so annoys me. After that, I was like, you
<v Speaker 1>know what, you can go swim. I'm gonna stay in
<v Speaker 1>the area where I know I can stand up and
<v Speaker 1>I woke down.
<v Speaker 3>Oh no, well I found out. I mean, we've talked
<v Speaker 3>about this.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of people that I know of don't know
<v Speaker 2>how to swim, and like my my wife learned how
<v Speaker 2>to swim basically from high school school. Yeah, but like
<v Speaker 2>she her mom worked at a hotel when her and
<v Speaker 2>her brother were kids, so they were like allowed to
<v Speaker 2>go in the pool sometimes when the mom was working.
<v Speaker 2>But they so they kind of taught themselves how to swim,
<v Speaker 2>I think, but like they didn't like really know, and
<v Speaker 2>so she learned like better in high school. But she's like,
<v Speaker 2>I don't think I'm like a good swimmer. I'm not
<v Speaker 2>like a comp I'm like, babe, I'm not saying your
<v Speaker 2>Michael Felts, like, you don't have to be like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>I only swim the professional way with the exact right.
<v Speaker 3>Sho competitive stimm Like, just as long as you can
<v Speaker 3>stay up in the water exact I feel like that
<v Speaker 3>means you can swim.
<v Speaker 1>But you know, I like that because I remember you
<v Speaker 1>telling me that too. You're like, you don't have to
<v Speaker 1>be like correct with everything if you can keep yourself
<v Speaker 1>up in the water.
<v Speaker 2>You're swimming. Yes, I have this confidence, like I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>I'm a good swimmer. If I were to look at
<v Speaker 2>people that swim like competitively, no, I'm not a good swimmer.
<v Speaker 2>When I had to do it in school and you
<v Speaker 2>had to do like a certain amount of strokes before
<v Speaker 2>you you have to breathe with your head on.
<v Speaker 3>A safe so hard, I'm like not good at that.
<v Speaker 3>But I can like tread water. I can.
<v Speaker 2>I can do the I can doggy pedal, I can breaststroke,
<v Speaker 2>I can be on my back and float like I could.
<v Speaker 3>Be a water sister, my mermaid. Yes, I do all
<v Speaker 3>the fun games.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, I can.
<v Speaker 3>You know when you're like, I don't know, maybe you
<v Speaker 3>don't know. But like when I was a kid, I
<v Speaker 3>would always like have.
<v Speaker 2>People give me things and I would throw them to
<v Speaker 2>the bottom of the pool so I could like be
<v Speaker 2>a mermaid and go against them.
<v Speaker 3>It is really fun. Also, it's so.
<v Speaker 2>Fun being a water trickster, where you like, I can't
<v Speaker 2>do like a like a handstand in real life, but
<v Speaker 2>I can do it in the water.
<v Speaker 3>Girl so.
<v Speaker 2>Silly anyway, Okay, so I even though this was kind
<v Speaker 2>of sad, I did think we should still do a
<v Speaker 2>munch merge murder. Yeah, and obviously this is the adult
<v Speaker 2>version of them, because I think they're like seventeen, so
<v Speaker 2>we're interested in their grown ups, yes, or that as
<v Speaker 2>Victoria did when she was on, or that we're also
<v Speaker 2>teenagerous again say range Okay, so the options for munch
<v Speaker 2>merge murder are Carmen, Lola, and Paki.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, have you thought about this at all?
<v Speaker 1>I have. I haven't thought about it, But do you
<v Speaker 1>have an answer?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah? I would. I feel bad they're all nice, but
<v Speaker 3>they are. I would. I would merge with Paki.
<v Speaker 2>To say, she has a place and she's more and
<v Speaker 2>she's like she seems older to me for something.
<v Speaker 3>I think she is old.
<v Speaker 2>I think she is like she was like tutoring the kids,
<v Speaker 2>so maybe she's like in her like early twenties and.
<v Speaker 1>She yes, that's her job. Yeah exactly, And.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, I would merge with Paki. I would munch
<v Speaker 2>grown up Lola, and I I would have to murder Carmen.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, See, for me is the opposite. I think I
<v Speaker 1>would munch Carmen and murder Lola, even though I like,
<v Speaker 1>I like go through they're really nice. I know they
<v Speaker 1>are really nice. You know.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if this goes back to my very
<v Speaker 2>specific type of I don't want to date somebody that
<v Speaker 2>wears like the same.
<v Speaker 3>Amount or is like, yeah, Lola doesn't really like wear makeup.
<v Speaker 3>She is giving like a more tomboy energy.
<v Speaker 1>I can see that, but I feel like Carmen's giving
<v Speaker 1>like dom femme kind of.
<v Speaker 3>That's that's true, but I'm not into it.
<v Speaker 2>I think they're very beautiful, but I'm like, we can
<v Speaker 2>be besties, so like best friends.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, anyway, so what would you rape this movie?
<v Speaker 1>On a scale of one to five, I would say
<v Speaker 1>four to five cherries.
<v Speaker 3>Oh really? Yeah you I said a five.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, because okay, I liked it this time when I
<v Speaker 2>rewatched it. The first time I watched it, I I
<v Speaker 2>didn't like it as much. I would have said like
<v Speaker 2>a three point five or a four, because I think
<v Speaker 2>that I had a negative connotation with the ending.
<v Speaker 3>But then the second time I watched it, I just
<v Speaker 3>maybe I was in a better mood emotionally because I
<v Speaker 3>took it.
<v Speaker 2>I took it more positively at the end, and I
<v Speaker 2>thought it's really awesome that Like I also thought it
<v Speaker 2>was really cool to learn about Romani culture because I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, like really anything about it. This is where
<v Speaker 2>I learned that there are a lot of Romani people
<v Speaker 2>in Spain because I didn't know that, and I learned
<v Speaker 2>that from this movie.
<v Speaker 3>I was like, wow, this is so cool. I don't
<v Speaker 3>know a lot about it.
<v Speaker 2>I know that there are those shows like The Gypsy
<v Speaker 2>Wedding and the Gypsy Sisters and those are Romani people,
<v Speaker 2>but reality.
<v Speaker 3>I haven't watched them.
<v Speaker 1>Also, I am very different than this, okay, sure, but
<v Speaker 1>similar similar.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I don't know. I don't know, so I mean
<v Speaker 2>so I just like was like, oh, I get to learn. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>and yeah, I like that they went to the beach
<v Speaker 2>at the end. So I gave it a five out
<v Speaker 2>of five. I was in a good mood when I
<v Speaker 2>rate it as your five.
<v Speaker 3>Okay.

<v Speaker 3>We're doing cookie jar cues today.
<v Speaker 1>Welcome back, Okay, so today we're going to do some
<v Speaker 1>cookie jar cues. I wanted to say something completely different.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. It's like, you know, when you're gonna
<v Speaker 1>speak and then your mind like twists the words around.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, like I started to say I was gonna say cool,
<v Speaker 3>but I started to say great.
<v Speaker 1>Something like the words were like twisted. I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, okay, it's any users. I can't gonna ask you
<v Speaker 3>what oh.
<v Speaker 1>Is it a long way.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my gosh, oh my god.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, wait, no, okay, is it bad?
<v Speaker 1>No?
<v Speaker 2>It just makes me think of what we were just
<v Speaker 2>talking about. Okay, what's something you're irrationally confident you could
<v Speaker 2>do with no training? And it's just funny because I
<v Speaker 2>was like, I'm really confident that I'm a good swimmer,
<v Speaker 2>even though like just I could just stay afloat. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>So it's something maybe something you haven't even really tried,
<v Speaker 2>something that you are confident you could do with no training.
<v Speaker 1>With no training, Yeah, oh my god. Okay, you know,
<v Speaker 1>I feel like this is very different than what I've
<v Speaker 1>said in other episodes. Sometimes I feel like I do
<v Speaker 1>sing pretty well. Okay, yeah, they're like sometimes how do
<v Speaker 1>you be here?
<v Speaker 3>Too?
<v Speaker 2>No one.
<v Speaker 1>Is so unique, I mean, but I feel like for
<v Speaker 1>certain songs, when I'm singing and I'm like actually trying,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, oh my god, that was really good, but
<v Speaker 1>I don't dare record and listen back or like, you know,
<v Speaker 1>it's just like one of those things when you're by
<v Speaker 1>yourself and you're like, yeah, I'm feeling good. When I'm
<v Speaker 1>not around my cat, they're like to bite me because
<v Speaker 1>I have such a bad voice. Prince Princess ever since
<v Speaker 1>I was literally ever since he was a kitten, and
<v Speaker 1>I would be like doing karaoke and I wasn't singing
<v Speaker 1>like obnoxiously or anything like super annoying. I was just like,
<v Speaker 1>like normally he would come up and bite the fuck
<v Speaker 1>out of my leg, and I like as soon as
<v Speaker 1>I would stop singing, he would like walk away, and
<v Speaker 1>I was like, that's really fucking rude, because everybody else
<v Speaker 1>can do karaoke button Oh.
<v Speaker 3>My god, what a crazy boy.
<v Speaker 1>I don't do it now either, because I'm like, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>you're old and I don't want to disturb you, so
<v Speaker 1>I just won't do karaoke when you're around. We actually
<v Speaker 1>know that's a lie. We actually did do it, and
<v Speaker 1>I was trying to sing with everybody, but I just
<v Speaker 1>lowered my voice so low. I was just like trying
<v Speaker 1>not to disturb it.
<v Speaker 2>It's probably because you're so good that it is like
<v Speaker 2>it just throws him off. He's like, is Mariah carrying here?
<v Speaker 1>What?
<v Speaker 3>My mom is a star and I need her to
<v Speaker 3>take care of me. She can't go off and be god.
<v Speaker 3>That's why star singer.
<v Speaker 1>So I have to tumble her to one thing. It
<v Speaker 1>makes me so mad. I'm like, why I'm your mother,
<v Speaker 1>don't do that well snape.
<v Speaker 2>Our you know cat that we had and he passed
<v Speaker 2>away recently. He hated my laughter and it was like
<v Speaker 2>if we needed him to leave, like, I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>this is gonna sound well, this is life.
<v Speaker 3>You know.
<v Speaker 2>Sometimes you have pets and they want to lay on
<v Speaker 2>your bed, but you want to do sex stuff, so
<v Speaker 2>you have to get them to leave. What would be
<v Speaker 2>like just laugh really loud, so I have to be
<v Speaker 2>like like my like obnoxious cackle, and he would leave me.
<v Speaker 2>He hated my laughter. So it's like everything but the
<v Speaker 2>lat the laughter. He was like the fuck, oh oh
<v Speaker 2>oh what about you? What do we both answer? I
<v Speaker 2>can't remember if you want to. Yeah, I don't know
<v Speaker 2>that there's something that swimming.
<v Speaker 3>With no training. I mean I think I could like
<v Speaker 3>host a show and I would just you see, we
<v Speaker 3>have no training for this. I could host like another show.
<v Speaker 2>I could do like a guest host on a show,
<v Speaker 2>and I feel like it would be fine. And I oh,
<v Speaker 2>I never bought you the theme. Okay, if anyone's listening,
<v Speaker 2>there's this thing. It's like your Clifton strengths and it's
<v Speaker 2>your top five strengths, and we do it at my work,
<v Speaker 2>but I find it so much like outside of work,
<v Speaker 2>like I'm like, oh, I bet this person has this
<v Speaker 2>in their top strengths. But anyway, I'm going to tell
<v Speaker 2>you what my number one strength is. It's wu, which
<v Speaker 2>is winning others over. And that's why I think I
<v Speaker 2>would be really good as a I have a host
<v Speaker 2>on something, because I would hopefully be able to use
<v Speaker 2>my strength in winning people over.
<v Speaker 3>And I would be like, Oh, she's weird.
<v Speaker 1>But I like her so like she's her on the air.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, she's she can be Rock and Robin. Any who's
<v Speaker 2>there's okay, pick one.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, Okay, let's say mixing these around? Okay, Oh my god,
<v Speaker 1>what app are you embarrassed to admit you're addicted to?
<v Speaker 3>Okay? Well, I don't, I'm not.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, maybe I should be embarrassed to be addicted
<v Speaker 2>to TikTok, but I feel like a lot of people
<v Speaker 2>are addicted to TikTok.
<v Speaker 1>I am, but then there's the like half of people
<v Speaker 1>that are like, oh my god, you like to.
<v Speaker 3>Your on TikTok.
<v Speaker 2>I know, I know, but I also feel like I've
<v Speaker 2>I think that being like not being afraid of being
<v Speaker 2>cringe or like weird or embarrassing is like what has
<v Speaker 2>like set me free to be my real self. So
<v Speaker 2>I don't care if it's embarrassing to be addicted to TikTok,
<v Speaker 2>but I do. Yeah, I have the specific TikTok I have.
<v Speaker 2>I have a TikTok for slime, and I am addicted
<v Speaker 2>to watching slime videos and the wax cracking videos and
<v Speaker 2>the soap cutting videos, Like I can watch them for
<v Speaker 2>hours every day, and I kind of do like I'll
<v Speaker 2>put them on in the background while I'm.
<v Speaker 3>Like rushing my teeth. I'm like, oh, slime videos.
<v Speaker 1>So I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe that's embarrassing to people because I'm thirty five and
<v Speaker 2>I'm addicted to slime videos.
<v Speaker 3>But it's okay.
<v Speaker 1>Who cares, Like you said, right me happy? It makes
<v Speaker 1>you happy, and people need to find things that make
<v Speaker 1>them happy and not judge others for its as long
<v Speaker 1>as it doesn't hurt anybody. Yeah, exactly, exactly, and you're
<v Speaker 1>not hurting anybody watching your exactly.
<v Speaker 3>Do you have a different app that you're addicted to?
<v Speaker 1>I feel like a game talk you for sure? But
<v Speaker 1>also I sometimes just really like Facebook. It's just really
<v Speaker 1>like going out there, going on. I like seeing what's
<v Speaker 1>on there, and it just feels so like abandoned almost
<v Speaker 1>sometimes like I'll look at me. Yeah, it feels like that. Obviously,
<v Speaker 1>not when I was younger. There's always stupid little like
<v Speaker 1>post on your wall and everything, and like, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Now it's just so different. But also Facebook Marketplace, which
<v Speaker 1>I know you like to I love Facebook Marketplace, Okay, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but I don't think that's embarrassing because I think everybody
<v Speaker 1>likes Facebook Marketplace.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, they just don't like Facebook.
<v Speaker 1>That's true. But my maybe that well, my part of
<v Speaker 1>it is sometimes I do like going I know, I
<v Speaker 1>love it.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't like a lot of groups.
<v Speaker 1>I know. My dad put me in this one group
<v Speaker 1>for his forty nine ers fans. It's like forty nine
<v Speaker 1>ers in Mexico and Arizona, and he added me in there.
<v Speaker 3>And I'm like, oh my god, that's so funny, Like
<v Speaker 3>my daughter wants to be in this group.
<v Speaker 1>I accepted. And sometimes I'll get people liking like things
<v Speaker 1>that my dad will post and I'm like, what, like
<v Speaker 1>for this one birthday thing, there's like a bunch of
<v Speaker 1>people and they're saying like happy birthday from the forty
<v Speaker 1>nine ers club, and I was like, I had a
<v Speaker 1>say thank you. I was like, thanks, that's so sweet.
<v Speaker 3>But I'm like, who are these people? They're just really
<v Speaker 3>into it.
<v Speaker 1>It's just really they're supportive.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's a community that's so sweet.
<v Speaker 2>That's like I'm in a group for like orange cats,
<v Speaker 2>and a group for black cats, and a group for
<v Speaker 2>yes and so I just see people post pictures of
<v Speaker 2>their pets and then I like them. And then sometimes
<v Speaker 2>I post pictures of my pets and I'm like, this
<v Speaker 2>is such a like old lady thing to do.
<v Speaker 3>It's like my Grammy to do. But I'm like, I
<v Speaker 3>love it this. I'm channeling Grammy. Okay, if the same thing.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know how I feel about this one. If
<v Speaker 2>your ex had to describe the pod in one word,
<v Speaker 2>what would it be?
<v Speaker 3>Hmmm? I feel like.
<v Speaker 1>That is like okay, see that's the thing I feel
<v Speaker 1>like in terms of having like an ex, I don't
<v Speaker 1>consider it because I dated people, but it was never
<v Speaker 1>serious for me. Yeah, Like it was never like oh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>like we were like together for years or anything. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and obviously I'm with yamies. She's not my ex.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>So I feel like if it were like an ex
<v Speaker 1>person I was talking to, I don't know that they
<v Speaker 1>would necessarily like this, you know what I mean? And
<v Speaker 1>I feel like maybe they would be like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 1>like you're trying to have a podcast, and to that,
<v Speaker 1>I'd say, I don't give a fuck because we're going
<v Speaker 1>to be famous, and yeah, yeah that's all I have
<v Speaker 1>to say. What about you?
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if you want to this is my
<v Speaker 2>Aquarius god complex and my Leo rising come out coming out.
<v Speaker 2>But I feel like anyone that I have dated or
<v Speaker 2>had a thing with is probably still in love with me.
<v Speaker 1>So they would be like this is so cool, like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god, my ex is really cool awesome. Yours
<v Speaker 1>is like yes, But I'm like, I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I'm just like, whatever, Okay, do we do? We do
<v Speaker 3>one more cookie jarque and then do the clear trivia?
<v Speaker 1>Okay? Oh wow?
<v Speaker 2>What?
<v Speaker 3>Okay?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? Who's I thought it was something completely different. I'm like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>what are words? No? Genuinely for a second, they like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>so who's the more likely one to fall in love
<v Speaker 1>during a podcast recording?
<v Speaker 3>Oh?
<v Speaker 1>And I feel like maybe it's like when we're discussing
<v Speaker 1>the movies and we're like in love with the people.
<v Speaker 1>And I feel like that happens a lot because we
<v Speaker 1>have a lot of celebrity questions. Yeah, like Angelina Jolie,
<v Speaker 1>she's so beautiful.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, she's like perfect person. I well, we both are
<v Speaker 2>in relationships, so we're not falling in love with anyone
<v Speaker 2>else because we're not polyamorous.
<v Speaker 3>But I, I mean, we talk a lot about.
<v Speaker 1>Our I'm gonna say you because you always.
<v Speaker 2>Think I get thirsty and over them all the time.
<v Speaker 2>It's gonna be Yeah, it's gonna be awkward when we're
<v Speaker 2>famous and we're you actually meet these peoples and then
<v Speaker 2>I had to see them and I talked about how
<v Speaker 2>hot they are.
<v Speaker 1>You're like, oh my god. But at least it's nothing bad.
<v Speaker 1>It's just how hot.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't say that I hated them or exactly. Yeah. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>so let's see, okay, do it well? Yeah, one queer trivia?
<v Speaker 1>Okay, okay, just do that one. Okay, what analogy does
<v Speaker 1>David Rose use? And the TV show Shits creepy? Oh,
<v Speaker 1>this is my favorite to explain his sexual orientation. Is
<v Speaker 1>it a chocolate b wine, see cookies or d flowers.
<v Speaker 2>It's wine because he says that he likes the something
<v Speaker 2>like he likes the wine, not the label. He's like
<v Speaker 2>because the one girl that he had sex with was like,
<v Speaker 2>I just gem confused because I thought you were gay,
<v Speaker 2>and he's like, oh, well, you know, I like red wine,
<v Speaker 2>but I also like white wine, and sometimes I like
<v Speaker 2>a rose. And I've even had a wine that was
<v Speaker 2>red and then it turned into a white wine or whatever,
<v Speaker 2>and so I always loved the I want to use
<v Speaker 2>it when I teach foster parents.
<v Speaker 3>I think of it as like wine. So anyway, I
<v Speaker 3>know that's right.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, okay, I.
<v Speaker 3>I love that one. Okay, which poet you keep getting
<v Speaker 3>like like history?
<v Speaker 1>But you know what the last one I think I
<v Speaker 1>guessed right, and I I think so was like Hans Christensen,
<v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Christian person. Okay, So which poet originated the phrase I
<v Speaker 3>contain multitudes? Is it William Blake, Sappho, Adrian rich or
<v Speaker 3>Walt Whitman.
<v Speaker 1>Who? Okay, simply just because I wanted to be sho,
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna say Sappho. Yeah, Yeah, why did you say yeah?
<v Speaker 2>You like?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>I meant yeah, I understand why you wanted to say.
<v Speaker 1>But it's what that was? Who was I was gonna say?
<v Speaker 1>But then I was like, no, no, okay, you know what.
<v Speaker 1>Trust your tuition. Yes, I clearly didn't.
<v Speaker 3>And I heard I know wrong. Okay. That was so fun.
<v Speaker 2>So thank you all for tuning in to But I'm
