<v Speaker 1>Welcome to But I'm a Lesbian, the podcast where we
<v Speaker 1>serve all batty SaaS, queer film reviews and everything in between.
<v Speaker 1>Whether you were a baby, gay.
<v Speaker 2>Or a queer elder, we're here, We're clear, and we're
<v Speaker 2>diving deep into all things lesbian or your hosts, Caitlin
<v Speaker 2>and Angelina, you're ready for some sophic serotonin. I was
<v Speaker 2>having a lot of feelings, you guys in the movie
<v Speaker 2>It is.
<v Speaker 1>There's a lot.
<v Speaker 2>So today we're going to discuss a classic, even though
<v Speaker 2>it's only from twenty fifteen, but I think it's still
<v Speaker 2>it's still a classic now it's been ten years. And
<v Speaker 2>also it was from a book that.
<v Speaker 1>Was okay that we want to read by the way.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, okay, so I'll tell you okay, we are going
<v Speaker 2>to discuss Carol. Carol was based on a book called
<v Speaker 2>The Price of Salt from I can never remember her
<v Speaker 2>first name, Betrays high Tower, Okay high Tower, who was
<v Speaker 2>a queer author in the fifties, so I looked up
<v Speaker 2>for Wikipedia. She did have many relationships with women. This
<v Speaker 2>was her only specifically WLW book because she well, it
<v Speaker 2>was the fifties, and also I think she didn't want
<v Speaker 2>to get pigeonholed into being like a lesbian writer and
<v Speaker 2>not have more mainstream success. So The Price of Salt
<v Speaker 2>I have not read yet, but I do find it interesting.
<v Speaker 2>I guess I can't tell how big the age difference
<v Speaker 2>is between Carol and Therez, but it seems like it's
<v Speaker 2>like twenty years. No.
<v Speaker 1>I thought so too. The very first time I watched it.
<v Speaker 1>I thought so too, that it's like she was very
<v Speaker 1>young obviously, and that Carol was like much older. But
<v Speaker 1>apparently Terres is like somewhere between eighteen to twenty, and
<v Speaker 1>Carol is supposed to be like in her thirties. Yes
<v Speaker 1>in the book. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>In the book, Teres was nineteen to twenty. Yeah, and
<v Speaker 2>Carol was early thirties, so like thirty two, which seems
<v Speaker 2>like less of an age difference. But I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe I'm just I just thought Kate Winchett looked kind
<v Speaker 2>of like a lot older, Like she didn't look thirty two,
<v Speaker 2>and I don't know how old she was. Also, when
<v Speaker 2>I first watched this, I was twenty five, so I
<v Speaker 2>think I thought she looked like really old, And now
<v Speaker 2>I'm watching it and I'm like, she doesn't even look
<v Speaker 2>that old.
<v Speaker 1>I think now that I'm thirty five, I'm like, oh.
<v Speaker 2>She doesn't even Why was I such an eater ten
<v Speaker 2>years ago? I was like this old lady, she's not.
<v Speaker 1>And the first time I watched it, I was like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that age gap is something like really big. But then
<v Speaker 1>when I watched it again, I'm like, oh, yeah, she's
<v Speaker 1>literally that like we were thinking, like you said, like
<v Speaker 1>twenty plus movie.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, So I think it also is the vibe that
<v Speaker 2>we get because like she is a mom and she
<v Speaker 2>is like this fancy lady, and then to res Is,
<v Speaker 2>she just gives off very young and naive vibes and
<v Speaker 2>she's also there's like the dynamic of like she works
<v Speaker 2>at a shop and this lady is like fancy and rich,
<v Speaker 2>and so it almost made the age difference seem more
<v Speaker 2>to me. Anyway, we're wearing our little Christmas frame deer
<v Speaker 2>Ears because this is our most Christmasy episode. Yes, it's
<v Speaker 2>just funny because this movie is a Christmas movie. I
<v Speaker 2>would say because in the beginning when they first meet,
<v Speaker 2>Terrez has a Santa hat on because it's Christmas time.
<v Speaker 2>But then like a lot of the relationship unfold after Christmas,
<v Speaker 2>so it's funny because I guess it's not as much
<v Speaker 2>of a Christmas movie as I thought, but you know,
<v Speaker 2>it's still a Christmas movie.
<v Speaker 1>It still is.
<v Speaker 2>That's how they met, yeah, for Christmas. Okay, So we've
<v Speaker 2>gotten a lot of requests to review this one. So,
<v Speaker 2>like every time we've posted on TikTok or Instagram about
<v Speaker 2>what are your favorite lesbian movies? What are movies you
<v Speaker 2>want us to review, somebody always mentions Carol. Yeah, And
<v Speaker 2>so we were like Christmas episode, perfect time. This film
<v Speaker 2>stars a favorite actress among lesbians, Caplyn Chett, and a
<v Speaker 2>favorite actress among vegans, Rooney Mars. She's married to Joaquin Phoenix. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>and they're both vegan and they have a vegan baby. So,
<v Speaker 2>since Caitlyn Chett is such a popular middle aged actress
<v Speaker 2>crush yeah, do you have any middle aged actresses or
<v Speaker 2>older actresses that you have a crush on?
<v Speaker 1>Yes? When I was younger, and I think still now,
<v Speaker 1>but maybe it's like calm down now. I was obsessed
<v Speaker 1>with tomahaik. I was like, she is my number one,
<v Speaker 1>Like I just I just she's still beautiful.
<v Speaker 2>She is.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. But then, as we mentioned in the other episode,
<v Speaker 1>there's that whole thing with like her husband and stuff,
<v Speaker 1>and there's like something so I kind of took a
<v Speaker 1>step back from her, but she will always be there
<v Speaker 1>for me actually, like I know her personally and like
<v Speaker 1>we just had to step away from our relationship. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it's like.
<v Speaker 2>She's so gorgeous. I remember the first time I remember
<v Speaker 2>seeing her was Wild Wild West. Did you see that movie?
<v Speaker 1>She was beautiful? Oh, oh my god, who is there?
<v Speaker 1>She's the best thing about that movie.
<v Speaker 2>I do really, I watched them. We watched it not
<v Speaker 2>that long ago, and I was like, oh, this actually
<v Speaker 2>isn't that good. But when I was nine and I
<v Speaker 2>would go see it at the theater, I thought it
<v Speaker 2>was the best movie ever I was.
<v Speaker 1>I saw it in Okay.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, me and my cousin would walk to the movie
<v Speaker 2>theater by my dad's house in the summer because it
<v Speaker 2>came out like in the summer and it was one
<v Speaker 2>of those movie theaters where they only show one movie
<v Speaker 2>at a time.
<v Speaker 1>Oh oh.
<v Speaker 2>He would like give us money to do something during
<v Speaker 2>the day and we would just go see Wild Wow
<v Speaker 2>West over and over.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So anyway, any other ones, No, not like putting you
<v Speaker 2>on the same lie.
<v Speaker 1>There is this one other actress that came out and
<v Speaker 1>I don't I don't know how old she is exactly,
<v Speaker 1>but when I saw it, I don't know if you've
<v Speaker 1>seen Queen of the South, like the newest one. Her
<v Speaker 1>name is Alice Braga and she actually is gay. She's
<v Speaker 1>she has a partner that they're both Brazilian, and I
<v Speaker 1>was like, it was one of those things you know
<v Speaker 1>when you look up when you're younger, like are they
<v Speaker 1>gay like anything? I just put like their names, I
<v Speaker 1>put their name and then gay or girlfriends, old friends. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>When I looked her up after I saw that, because
<v Speaker 1>I only remember her from Oh my God, City of Gold.
<v Speaker 1>She started that when she was like really young. But
<v Speaker 1>she yeah, she's a partner. But I don't think she's
<v Speaker 1>like older. I think she's like in her forties maybe,
<v Speaker 1>So I don't really think that's old.
<v Speaker 2>So, okay, we're saying middle aged actresses. I've seen tiktoks
<v Speaker 2>where these young's are putting here my middle aged crushes
<v Speaker 2>and they put aoc on there. She's my age, So
<v Speaker 2>I guess she is kind of middle aged.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, I guess, I guess.
<v Speaker 2>I guess think it's a nineteen year old doing it.
<v Speaker 2>A thirty five year old is middle aged. But when
<v Speaker 2>I think of middle age, I think of like, I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, I think of Sandra Bullock, Like, yeah, that
<v Speaker 2>makes sense in her. Well, she might be like sixty now,
<v Speaker 2>but she she looks like younger. I don't know. Sandra
<v Speaker 2>Bullock perfect gorge. No, no, I think she's like one
<v Speaker 2>of the most beautiful women in the world. But I
<v Speaker 2>don't like have a crush on her. I just think
<v Speaker 2>we should be best friends. But I do think that
<v Speaker 2>she's secretly gay. She's one of the people that there's
<v Speaker 2>those rumors about that she has like a club and
<v Speaker 2>all the other Hollywood lesbians go there and like pick
<v Speaker 2>up with each other.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, yeah, I did hear about that. But also I
<v Speaker 1>feel like I know who yours is. I want you
<v Speaker 1>to say it first.
<v Speaker 2>Oh now I'm nervous.
<v Speaker 1>No, it's okay, okay, but I get it wrong.
<v Speaker 2>I've never heard anyone mention this. But she is middle age.
<v Speaker 2>It's clean Latina.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you know, I'm like, dude, every time I see
<v Speaker 1>love her and I send it to you, I'm like, yes,
<v Speaker 1>this is Kit's Kitten's other woman.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I love her. I love her so much ever
<v Speaker 2>since I saw set it off and I was like, good, damn,
<v Speaker 2>who is this like very curvy butch woman, And then
<v Speaker 2>everything she's in even when she's not butch, I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>I love her. I love We're going to talk about
<v Speaker 2>Bessie at some point. I think we saw her boobies
<v Speaker 2>in that. I don't think she used the body double.
<v Speaker 2>And I'm not trying to be like a creepy man.
<v Speaker 2>I'm just appreciating her beautiful body. No, I love her.
<v Speaker 2>That is totally who I was going to talk about.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know that I have any others. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. I think that very young people would
<v Speaker 2>consider this a middle aged actress. And I don't like
<v Speaker 2>who she how I don't like her personality, but I
<v Speaker 2>think she's really hot. Is Michelle Rodriguez.
<v Speaker 1>She's she was one of my two. But then she
<v Speaker 1>went on that rant and I was.
<v Speaker 2>Like, I just if I just picture her in like
<v Speaker 2>the wife pleaser, like okay, like the dickies or whatever,
<v Speaker 2>like kind of like, she's so hot and she was
<v Speaker 2>so like in the closet for so long, and I
<v Speaker 2>know we all knew girl.
<v Speaker 1>The closet was good.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, anyway, Okay, that was fun.
<v Speaker 1>That was fun. Really.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, okay, people write in the comments tell us your
<v Speaker 2>middle aged actress crush and.
<v Speaker 1>Lets them actually be middle aged. Yes, yeah, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I did this thing. I shouldn't have done it. I
<v Speaker 2>think it advertised it to me on like TikTok or something.
<v Speaker 1>It was like death.
<v Speaker 2>Clock or something, and it like predicts how old you'll
<v Speaker 2>be when you die. Oh and mine predicted that I
<v Speaker 2>would be ninety six. So if that's the case, I'm
<v Speaker 2>not to middle age yet.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, you're not.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, but some people if if I were to only
<v Speaker 2>live to be seventy, then I am middle aged. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I'm thirty five anyway, point being, hopefully I'm gonna to
<v Speaker 2>be ninety six.
<v Speaker 1>Hopefully. Yeah, you'll be the longest will be musbian ever, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you'll be one hundred and six.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Well, because I think I've.
<v Speaker 2>Told you about how my wife's family lives really like
<v Speaker 2>a long time and mine only live to be like eighty,
<v Speaker 2>I know you're gonna break.
<v Speaker 1>You're going to be a cycle.
<v Speaker 2>And it's totally like that clock thing is very like
<v Speaker 2>do you drink alcohol? Do you smoke cigarettes? Do you exercise?
<v Speaker 2>And then it like bases it off of that. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I think that's it was like you could live to
<v Speaker 2>one hundred and three if you started exercising, and I
<v Speaker 2>was like, leave me alone.
<v Speaker 1>You're like, I'm making other changes. I don't drink. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know.
<v Speaker 2>But it's also like I didn't ask me about my
<v Speaker 2>energy drinks. But I think that would have taken years
<v Speaker 2>off of my life if they did.
<v Speaker 1>Anyhow so.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like I rambled on for a while, but
<v Speaker 2>I need to ask you about your hot takes or
<v Speaker 2>forgot about my too.
<v Speaker 1>I was going to a break just kidding. Do you
<v Speaker 1>have one? I think yes, because I know we had
<v Speaker 1>talked about it before, and I said, the first time
<v Speaker 1>I watched it, I didn't really like it because I
<v Speaker 1>thought it was super long, and I was like, let's
<v Speaker 1>get to the gay parts. Yeah, like I think I
<v Speaker 1>remember specifically like skipping through to see when it was
<v Speaker 1>like the gay parts, and then I was like, well,
<v Speaker 1>now I need to watch all of it. So then
<v Speaker 1>I was like, let's go back and then let's watch it.
<v Speaker 1>But then I don't know. I guess my mind just
<v Speaker 1>didn't want me to like sit there and pay attention
<v Speaker 1>to the movie.
<v Speaker 2>Your frontal lobe wasn't developed yet and now it is.
<v Speaker 1>You know what, I'm probably I had no harm friendship
<v Speaker 1>for any movie longer than like an hour.
<v Speaker 2>Should I forward to see the sex scenes?
<v Speaker 1>Okay, I was like skip skip, But this time around,
<v Speaker 1>I really liked it. So I know people either really
<v Speaker 1>love this movie or hate it. And I liked it,
<v Speaker 1>and I'm very surprised. I'm like, yeah, what is your
<v Speaker 1>hot take?
<v Speaker 2>Or Okay, well I kind of thought this wasn't a
<v Speaker 2>hot take at first, but then I saw that this
<v Speaker 2>movie was rated like the best lgbt QIA movie of
<v Speaker 2>all time by like some British magazine or British movie thing.
<v Speaker 2>So I do think that my take is hot because
<v Speaker 2>I did like this movie more than I liked it
<v Speaker 2>the other times the other time I watched it. I'm
<v Speaker 2>pretty sure the first time I watched it, I was
<v Speaker 2>blacked out drunk because I only remember like the first
<v Speaker 2>like thirty minutes of it, and I thought it ended there.
<v Speaker 1>Just seen and then that's Deacintly, I thought it.
<v Speaker 2>Was such a Christmasy movie because I was like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>all that happens is they meet at Christmas. She goes
<v Speaker 2>up to her house and then she leaves. No, there's
<v Speaker 2>a whole road trip that I forgot about, and there's.
<v Speaker 1>Will imagine if it literally all just happened for like
<v Speaker 1>Christmas like that. I thought I thought it was like
<v Speaker 1>a movie, like a couple of days. Yeah, they did.
<v Speaker 2>But my my hot take is that I know this
<v Speaker 2>is a beloved movie, but I can't get over the
<v Speaker 2>the similarities between Terrez and the daughter Rindy. I don't
<v Speaker 2>know that they did that in the book, and I
<v Speaker 2>tried to look it up and all I found was
<v Speaker 2>people on Reddit talking about it and someone saying it
<v Speaker 2>wasn't like that in the book. But I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>and I haven't read it yet.
<v Speaker 1>If you have, well we read, we will get Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like.
<v Speaker 2>But if you have, you can tell us in the comments,
<v Speaker 2>like if there were so many noticeable similarities between Terres
<v Speaker 2>and Rendy because I thought it was weird that they
<v Speaker 2>had the same haircut, then that is so true.
<v Speaker 1>And the hairbrush, that's what That's what came for me, the.
<v Speaker 2>Hair brushing thing. And then there was a scene at
<v Speaker 2>the end ish where Rendy came to finally see her
<v Speaker 2>mom after being away from her, and she had on
<v Speaker 2>a little green hat and a green outfit. And then
<v Speaker 2>right after that scene they showed Therez meeting with Richard
<v Speaker 2>to get her stuff, and she's wearing a green hat,
<v Speaker 2>like a very similar green hat. And then there's this
<v Speaker 2>other part where there's Therez is showing the pictures that
<v Speaker 2>she's taken, and then there's a picture of her as
<v Speaker 2>a little girl, and she goes, is this you as
<v Speaker 2>a little girl? And she like touches it all lovingly,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm like, to me, I felt like part of
<v Speaker 2>the reason that Carol was so interested Slash loved the
<v Speaker 2>Rez was because she was losing her daughter in a
<v Speaker 2>way and she was like replacing her. But then she
<v Speaker 2>fucked her, which I thought, like ruined the mother daughter thing,
<v Speaker 2>and so I thought it was kind of creepy. So
<v Speaker 2>I still think it's creepy. I don't think the age
<v Speaker 2>gap was as big as I thought, but it's more
<v Speaker 2>than mother.
<v Speaker 1>More like the behavior for you. Okay, I don't see
<v Speaker 1>where you're coming from with like the similarities of like
<v Speaker 1>her obviously being like very innocent and young. Yeah, but
<v Speaker 1>maybe she just has mommy.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I don't know that.
<v Speaker 1>I don't care if you you know, maybe they both do,
<v Speaker 1>I guess so.
<v Speaker 2>Also at the end, I thought that they I thought
<v Speaker 2>that Therez had realized that Carol was creepy in my mind,
<v Speaker 2>and then she wasn't going to be with her, But
<v Speaker 2>that's not really what happened. So so anyway, Yeah, people
<v Speaker 2>are gonna hate me, Please don't unfollow because I dislike
<v Speaker 2>Carol because I didn't dislike it as much as I
<v Speaker 2>did the first time when I was drunk, and Angelina
<v Speaker 2>likes it.
<v Speaker 1>So I know.
<v Speaker 2>We have a here, So okay, we're gonna take a
<v Speaker 2>quick break and when we get back, we'll get into
<v Speaker 2>the recap. So grab your Santa hats and get ready.
<v Speaker 1>Welcome back to but I'm a Lesbian. This week we
<v Speaker 1>are discussing Carol.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, okay, So, I, like I said, I watched this
<v Speaker 2>movie once when it first came out. I thought that
<v Speaker 2>I remembered all of it and that I hated it,
<v Speaker 2>And this time I didn't hate it. I just wasn't
<v Speaker 2>the biggest fan. And I watched the whole thing and
<v Speaker 2>remember it now, so that's good. Also, star studded cast,
<v Speaker 2>I saw Sarah Paulsen is in this, and then Carrie
<v Speaker 2>Brownstein is in it for like the smallest amount of time.
<v Speaker 2>And then the boyfriend of Terres, yea, he was. He
<v Speaker 2>was in the office and his nickname was PLoP. So
<v Speaker 2>the whole time we were watching it, I was like,
<v Speaker 2>oh PLoP so yeah, AnyWho, I don't know that. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I think was he in White Lotus or something. He
<v Speaker 2>was in something big recently, but I kept calling him
<v Speaker 2>PLoP in that too, So I mean he's like a
<v Speaker 2>big actor now at least. Yeah, I don't know his name,
<v Speaker 2>not big enough for us.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know his name. So okay.
<v Speaker 2>We open on a city street and we see a
<v Speaker 2>man buying a newspaper from like, you know, a newspaper stand,
<v Speaker 2>and he goes into a hotel bar and he's like
<v Speaker 2>ordering at the bar, and then he looks over and
<v Speaker 2>he sees Kate Blanchette, who plays Carol in this movie,
<v Speaker 2>and Rooney Mara, who plays Terrez, sitting at a table,
<v Speaker 2>and then he tells the bartender like, oh, I need
<v Speaker 2>to go make a call. But then he just goes
<v Speaker 2>over to the table and he's like Terres and he
<v Speaker 2>like ruins the moment, the rude just like a man
<v Speaker 2>he likes. He's like, what could they possibly be talking
<v Speaker 2>about their two women? Yeah, He's like, nothing important.
<v Speaker 1>It's one of the most important I know, okay, And
<v Speaker 1>so she's he's like, Heyters, like, are you gonna come
<v Speaker 1>to Phil's party?
<v Speaker 2>Do you need to like catch a ride with us?
<v Speaker 2>And then Carol is like, I'm just gonna leave you
<v Speaker 2>guys have fun at the party, and there's looks like
<v Speaker 2>kind of sad, and then she's like, no, I have
<v Speaker 2>to make some calls anyway, And as she walks away,
<v Speaker 2>she puts her shoulder on Terre's her her hand on
<v Speaker 2>the would understand we're going to try to make that
<v Speaker 2>of it. She puts her hand on her shoulder and
<v Speaker 2>it's very gay. It's like a lingering touch, and like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>this looks like she's feeling things. And then and then
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, Terres looks kind of worried. And but then
<v Speaker 2>she still goes and catches a ride with the guys.
<v Speaker 2>And then while she's in the cab with the guys,
<v Speaker 2>she sees another older blonde woman and she looks at
<v Speaker 2>her and I think maybe at first she thought she
<v Speaker 2>was Carol, or she was thinking of Carol, because she's like,
<v Speaker 2>that's her type.
<v Speaker 1>That's what she loves, old, older, blonde, white, dominant women. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>And so then.
<v Speaker 2>We started seeing flashbacks of her and Carol. So basically
<v Speaker 2>she be she has been thinking this whole time, like
<v Speaker 2>about Carol, while she's in the cab with all these
<v Speaker 2>guys to go to a party. So we are backtracking.
<v Speaker 2>We see Terres in the morning at her apartment, waking
<v Speaker 2>up and talking to a man and then riding on
<v Speaker 2>a bike with him to work. So this is I
<v Speaker 2>don't know how many months before because it doesn't really
<v Speaker 2>tell you. I don't know how many months. They weren't
<v Speaker 2>talking exactly, but yeah, anyway, so he takes her to
<v Speaker 2>work and then when they get to work, they're giving
<v Speaker 2>everyone Santa hats. So it's like this is issued by
<v Speaker 2>the Mace.
<v Speaker 1>What was it called Frankenfelds or yeah, something like that.
<v Speaker 2>It was something, but it was basically like a Macy's,
<v Speaker 2>like a Bloomingdalees or whatever. And so she that's why
<v Speaker 2>I was like Christmas movie. And so they we're go
<v Speaker 2>at this department store and it's set in the fifties.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't tell you guys that, So if you haven't
<v Speaker 2>seen Carol, it's set in the fifties. Yeah, and then
<v Speaker 2>there's so many people shopping, so it's like extra Christmas vibes,
<v Speaker 2>like this must be like a very important last shopping
<v Speaker 2>day type of thing, like people need to go buy
<v Speaker 2>stuff for Christmas. And to Rez sees Carol from across
<v Speaker 2>the room, I wrote, I don't like her already because
<v Speaker 2>she's wearing fur. It's like this bitch.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I hate this bitch.
<v Speaker 2>I mean at that time it was probably real fur
<v Speaker 2>because I don't think Foulfer was. I was like, I
<v Speaker 2>don't think popular, and she was rich. I feel like
<v Speaker 2>it's giving, like this is my mink coats, like yeah,
<v Speaker 2>and then they make eye contact and so lesbian and
<v Speaker 2>we've talked about literally contact. Yeah, and then a lady
<v Speaker 2>interrupts her and asks her for something, and then she
<v Speaker 2>like loses sight of Carol for a minute. And then
<v Speaker 2>Carol comes up to up to Z and asks her,
<v Speaker 2>can you help me find this doll for my daughter
<v Speaker 2>because she's working at like the doll area. And then
<v Speaker 2>again there's so much eye contact, and then she tells
<v Speaker 2>her like, well, we don't have that specific doll. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>sold a specific doll. She's like, we sold out and
<v Speaker 2>she's like, well, what kind of doll. That's another thing
<v Speaker 2>that was weird. What kind of doll did you like
<v Speaker 2>when you were a little girl?
<v Speaker 1>Like she that's true because she's so young, I just
<v Speaker 1>stopped playing with all.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, but I think we're supposed to gather like that.
<v Speaker 2>She was not rich, she didn't really have dolls. She's like,
<v Speaker 2>uh no, I never. She's like, we have a really
<v Speaker 2>cool train set. And she's like, oh, do you know
<v Speaker 2>a lot about train sets? And she's like yeah, like dude, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>she's so different. Yeah, and so she's like, okay, I'll
<v Speaker 2>buy it sold and she's like cool, it'll be delivered
<v Speaker 2>in two to three days. And I was like, they're
<v Speaker 2>so flirty, and Theresa is staring at Carol. She walks away.
<v Speaker 1>She's like, wow, she's so beautiful.
<v Speaker 2>She's like and then I think she like left her
<v Speaker 2>gloves there, but I think she did her absolutely. And
<v Speaker 2>then after work we see with a man and he's
<v Speaker 2>all over her and was that PLoP because it was
<v Speaker 2>in the dark. They were like at a movie theater.
<v Speaker 2>I guess it was him because he's yes, it was.
<v Speaker 2>He looked different in that.
<v Speaker 1>Like we called him Pop. His name was a Richard.
<v Speaker 2>His name is Richard and he's her boyfriend, but she
<v Speaker 2>seems like not not into that. Like he they mentioned
<v Speaker 2>more later, but like he really wants to marry her
<v Speaker 2>and wants to take her on a trip to her up
<v Speaker 2>and blah blah blah, and she's very like, I don't
<v Speaker 2>think I'm not really ready.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 2>And then then they go to a bar and she's
<v Speaker 2>with a bunch of guys again, and then there's this
<v Speaker 2>guy Danny, and he's like, Oh, you're into photography, I
<v Speaker 2>could probably introduce you to someone that will help you
<v Speaker 2>with your photography because.
<v Speaker 1>I think he works at the times. He works at
<v Speaker 1>the time and works at the times. And yeah, like
<v Speaker 1>the person he was going to introduce her too was
<v Speaker 1>like one of his coworkers. Okay, yeah, get your portfolio together. Yes.
<v Speaker 2>And so then the next day we see theres mailing
<v Speaker 2>Carrol's gloves to her. She like nicely patched them up
<v Speaker 2>and like nailed them off to her. And we then
<v Speaker 2>see Carol at her fancy or rich lady house and
<v Speaker 2>we see her with her daughter and her husband. So
<v Speaker 2>she has a little daughter that has the same haircut
<v Speaker 2>as Rudey Mara to us and they're talking.
<v Speaker 1>About how Oh.
<v Speaker 2>Then they show her and the daughter and the husband
<v Speaker 2>like at the table and they're talking about how the
<v Speaker 2>little girl Rendy is saying like, Mommy takes me to
<v Speaker 2>see Aunt Abby all the time, and the husband is like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>of course she's taking you to see Anna Abbey, like
<v Speaker 2>he seems annoyed. So we were like, okay, I don't think.
<v Speaker 1>Why don't you like Aunt Abby.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, okay, I don't think it's really like her sister.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know it's her aunty giving that he's mad
<v Speaker 2>because they're gay, but we don't know that for sure yet.
<v Speaker 2>And then we see Teres checking with her boss like
<v Speaker 2>we're back at the whatever the worries are, and she's
<v Speaker 2>checking with her boss to make sure Carol's trainset got
<v Speaker 2>delivered and he says that it did, and so it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>because she's still thinking of her, you know, just like it's.
<v Speaker 1>As for her daughter, like is it there?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, And then she gets a call at work from
<v Speaker 2>Carol who wanted to say thank you for mailing the
<v Speaker 2>gloves and asked her out to lunch to think her like,
<v Speaker 2>I'll buy you lunch and I wrote, I know some
<v Speaker 2>other ways she could thank her, and then they meet
<v Speaker 2>in a fancy place because Carol is fancy, yes, she and
<v Speaker 2>Carol also loves smoking cigarettes. She's smoking and Terrez is like,
<v Speaker 2>oh my god, you smell nice, which they mentioned him
<v Speaker 2>multiple times, so whatever perfume she wears must smell really good.
<v Speaker 1>But she's also.
<v Speaker 2>Smoking a lot of cigarettes, so I assume she smells
<v Speaker 2>like cigarettes, but cigarettes. And I think it's like at
<v Speaker 2>that time, especially and especially probably too Terrez, who's so young,
<v Speaker 2>she's like so sophisticated, like she's like this older woman
<v Speaker 2>that's got it together and she's a cigarettes and she's
<v Speaker 2>so sixy. I don't know, she probably has really expensive
<v Speaker 2>perfume on, you know. And then Terre's yeah, she's like,
<v Speaker 2>you smell really good. And then Carol mentions her husband
<v Speaker 2>and says they're getting divorced, and so we're like, okay,
<v Speaker 2>they did. Their relationship seemed kind of like not on
<v Speaker 2>the best term. So now we find out she's getting divorced.
<v Speaker 2>And then we find out that Terrez has a boyfriend
<v Speaker 2>and his name is Richard, and she is not interested
<v Speaker 2>in marrying him. And Carol invites Torez to come over
<v Speaker 2>to her house on Sunday and she's like, uh yeah,
<v Speaker 2>She's like yeah. After lunch, Carol gets into a car
<v Speaker 2>with another fancy woman and then we find out that
<v Speaker 2>that is Aunt Abby, who is played by Sarah Paulson,
<v Speaker 2>and of course she plays another lesbian. Yeah, Sarah Paulson
<v Speaker 2>plays a great vintage lesbian.
<v Speaker 1>She does the nurse ratchet yes, really good.
<v Speaker 2>But also in season two of American Horror Story The
<v Speaker 2>Asylum one, she was a lesbian.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, but Clea Duval was.
<v Speaker 2>Her girlfriend or her wife. Well, they weren't allowed to
<v Speaker 2>be married, but they lived together anyway, so close to
<v Speaker 2>the same time period. So then and Aunt Abby drops
<v Speaker 2>her off at this party thing that her husband wanted
<v Speaker 2>her to go to. I think it's like at his
<v Speaker 2>family's house. And then they're dancing and he's like, you're
<v Speaker 2>always the most beautiful woman in the room. So we
<v Speaker 2>get the vibe that he still wants her, and she's
<v Speaker 2>the one that wants to divorce because he's like, please
<v Speaker 2>come to this party, and then he's telling her out
<v Speaker 2>beautiful she is, you.
<v Speaker 1>Know, she's like, we're divorcing.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, She's like no, no thanks. And then another lady
<v Speaker 2>invites her to hang out with her family at Christmas,
<v Speaker 2>so she's not all alone. So it's like knowing that
<v Speaker 2>they are like breaking up, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Which I'm sure was really unheard of, and.
<v Speaker 2>Carol declines and says, you know, I'm thinking about going
<v Speaker 2>out west by myself a few days. And then we
<v Speaker 2>cut to seeing Danny and Terrez at the place that
<v Speaker 2>he works, and they're talking about photography and attraction. Basically,
<v Speaker 2>he's like, do you like photograph people? And she's like,
<v Speaker 2>not that often, something like that, and then he goes
<v Speaker 2>on and on about it attraction and how you know
<v Speaker 2>you're attracted to somebody or whatever, and then he kisses
<v Speaker 2>her and I'm like, eh, why are mental?
<v Speaker 1>Gross?
<v Speaker 2>I knew he was gonna try kiss it because.
<v Speaker 1>I know the people, the only one in there, they're drinking. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean if she wanted to, yeah, but she was.
<v Speaker 2>Just like yeah, also has a boyfriend, Richard. Yeah, but
<v Speaker 2>I'm glad that she was like you shouldn't. And then
<v Speaker 2>he's like, oh, okay, Like because I was really worried
<v Speaker 2>when they were in there alone, I know he's really aggressed. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>And so he's basically like, when will I see you again,
<v Speaker 2>and she's like, I don't know, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Like Monday, Wednesday, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Like you're freaking me out. And then we cut to
<v Speaker 2>seeing Carol and her husband getting home from the party,
<v Speaker 2>so like he drove her home and he wants her
<v Speaker 2>to come to his parents' house for Christmas. He's like,
<v Speaker 2>tonight went really well, like you should please like come,
<v Speaker 2>and then she mentioned Abby at some point and then
<v Speaker 2>he got mad, and then she says, I think this
<v Speaker 2>is where she says, like, you know, me and Abby
<v Speaker 2>were over for you and you and I were over
<v Speaker 2>something like that. So we're like, okay, So she and
<v Speaker 2>Abby had an affair, but in stereotypical lesbian fashion, because
<v Speaker 2>this is not how it is in my life. They
<v Speaker 2>are still friends, so like they have an affair and
<v Speaker 2>they're like best now.
<v Speaker 1>They're like, oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. And then Carol goes and plays with the trade
<v Speaker 2>set by herself. And then on Sunday we see Carol
<v Speaker 2>picking Terres up at like her house, her apartment, and
<v Speaker 2>Richard comes to meet her and then he's like okay, bye,
<v Speaker 2>I love you to Terres and and then we get
<v Speaker 2>a lot of close ups of Carol's face and hands,
<v Speaker 2>which is so less so lesbian. Yeah, I also think,
<v Speaker 2>you know.
<v Speaker 1>It's just like the look that she gives to us too.
<v Speaker 2>She's just like, yeah, but I do love like the
<v Speaker 2>way that they kind of like filmed. I feel like
<v Speaker 2>they're filming Carol the way that Teres sees her, like
<v Speaker 2>she's looking at how beautiful she is, Like she's like
<v Speaker 2>obviously so infatuated by her, and obviously she's looking at
<v Speaker 2>her hands too because she's gay, and she's like, I
<v Speaker 2>would like you do a finger blast me. But I
<v Speaker 2>don't know if she knows that she wants that yet.
<v Speaker 1>Because she's like whatever it is that lesbians do, I
<v Speaker 1>want to do.
<v Speaker 2>I have some feelings. And then Carol stops to buy
<v Speaker 2>a Christmas tree and Terre takes pictures of her, so
<v Speaker 2>it's like that's special because she had the whole thing
<v Speaker 2>about how she doesn't really take pictures of people. Then
<v Speaker 2>they talk about attraction, so it's like obvious she's attracted her, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>these pictures of her. Then they get to Carol's house
<v Speaker 2>and Reddy is there and also the nanny lady who
<v Speaker 2>is a judgmental bitch.
<v Speaker 1>And very like, oh, she was like the she's on
<v Speaker 1>Harder's side. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, the husband is named Harj. I don't know what
<v Speaker 2>that's short for, but it's a stupid name.
<v Speaker 1>It was like Harder or not herder, it was something
<v Speaker 1>it was hard It sounds like harder like he wishes
<v Speaker 1>That's what she was saying. And then also I thought
<v Speaker 1>this was like, I.
<v Speaker 2>Don't know, I thought this was noticeable of like kind
<v Speaker 2>of the dynamic between them, but also that like Teres
<v Speaker 2>is so like just like infatuated that she goes in
<v Speaker 2>and makes tea and I'm like, that's really nice of her.
<v Speaker 2>She's serving her at her own house, I know, and
<v Speaker 2>she's like to do it. Yeah, but it's like she's
<v Speaker 2>like I just know everything for her. And so Carol
<v Speaker 2>and the and the kid, Brindy Carol kid decorated, I
<v Speaker 2>wrote the child, and then at some point I started
<v Speaker 2>calling her Brandy. Okay, So they're decorating the tree. And
<v Speaker 2>then that night Carol asked her were you taking pictures
<v Speaker 2>of me earlier? And she's like, oh, yeah, sorry, like
<v Speaker 2>I had a friend that said I should take more
<v Speaker 2>pictures of people. And she's like that's okay. And then
<v Speaker 2>Teresa's playing piano and Carol's watching her, and then she
<v Speaker 2>comes up behind her and puts her hands on her shoulders,
<v Speaker 2>and then there's like so much sexual tension.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like, I know, you know there is, because
<v Speaker 1>she's like, oh, like you're playing, you know, and they're
<v Speaker 1>just like you.
<v Speaker 2>Know, yeah yeah. And then Carol asked to see Theres's
<v Speaker 2>photography work and she's like, oh, well, it's all at
<v Speaker 2>my house like under my sinking. She's like, well, maybe
<v Speaker 2>you should bite me over.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. She's like, we'll mine me over and I can
<v Speaker 1>see her house. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>And then Hard shows up that cockblock. I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>beaver dam. I think I heard a calm before.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>He shows up and Carol is not excited, and he
<v Speaker 2>sees Theres and is mad like why is there this?
<v Speaker 1>Like what the fuck?
<v Speaker 2>And then they get in an argument and he's like, well,
<v Speaker 2>I need to pick up Brindy because we're going on vacation.
<v Speaker 2>And then he comes and asks to Res how she
<v Speaker 2>knows his wife. Yeah, and she's like explaining like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>we met like work at a department store. And then
<v Speaker 2>he like looks at Carolyn, He's like wow, that's bold.
<v Speaker 2>Like he's like a fa like, yeah, it's just like
<v Speaker 2>out of courtesy. Yeah, I'm trying to thank her by
<v Speaker 2>giving her orgasms. And then the husband takes the kid
<v Speaker 2>and Carol is sad and Harj's being creepy and like
<v Speaker 2>drunk and he's like, please come with us, and he's
<v Speaker 2>kind of aggressive with her and Theresi's like through the
<v Speaker 2>window and then he falls because he's drunk, and he's like,
<v Speaker 2>if you don't get in that car with me right
<v Speaker 2>now then and he like doesn't finish it, and she's
<v Speaker 2>like what then it's over, Like he didn't really finish
<v Speaker 2>that sentence. And I think that was foreshadowing to show
<v Speaker 2>that he's going to do more shady things.
<v Speaker 1>But also didn't he tell her to like I despise
<v Speaker 1>women like you And she's like, well, you married me,
<v Speaker 1>you knew like kind of what I was Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Like yeah, yeah, he's a hater.
<v Speaker 1>Can't let his wife feel with another.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, she's abborcing you. Just get over it, okay, And
<v Speaker 2>then he leaves the kid. Carol comes in. She has
<v Speaker 2>this really beautiful dress on that has buttons all the
<v Speaker 2>way on the back and I love it.
<v Speaker 1>I love the fashion in this I love it. It is
<v Speaker 1>so beautiful. Yes, I just yeah, I wish.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like it's probably very uncomfortable because I feel
<v Speaker 2>like a lot of the fabrics in that time were
<v Speaker 2>so like structured and thick, which is for a reason,
<v Speaker 2>Like it's not like, you know, it's not like a
<v Speaker 2>cheap like she in like dress that's like it's like
<v Speaker 2>a very welcome, very expensive and it has like the
<v Speaker 2>buttons that it fits her body like so perfectly, you know.
<v Speaker 2>So I was like, Okay, I see, I see why
<v Speaker 2>theres is feeling this way because I was like, I
<v Speaker 2>like these buttons like in the curves.
<v Speaker 1>You know, the buttons.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, the button slash her butt like that's good.
<v Speaker 1>And then.
<v Speaker 2>Carol is like kind of being like a little bit
<v Speaker 2>bitchy because she's mad, I think, and she kind of
<v Speaker 2>takes it out on Terres and she drives her back
<v Speaker 2>to the bus and it's like you can take the
<v Speaker 2>bus home, and then Terrez is crying on the bus.
<v Speaker 1>I would too, honestly. I'd like she just witnessed the
<v Speaker 1>little fight. And then she's like being sent back home now.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, And so then we see her getting home and
<v Speaker 2>Carol called her and was like sorry, I was horrible earlier.
<v Speaker 2>Please forgive me. Can I come see you tomorrow night?
<v Speaker 2>And of course she's like yeah, She's like, of course
<v Speaker 2>you can.
<v Speaker 1>I ever give you. It was like that thing.
<v Speaker 2>And then Terrez is like, I want to ask you things,
<v Speaker 2>but I don't know that you want that, and she's
<v Speaker 2>like ask me things please. So I don't know. I
<v Speaker 2>thought that was kind of cool because it's like she
<v Speaker 2>probably was feeling like she's kind of this like mysterious,
<v Speaker 2>like cool older woman, and she's like, no, I want
<v Speaker 2>to be like open with you. Yeah, And then a
<v Speaker 2>bunch of drunk men show up in the hallway where
<v Speaker 2>the phone is that she's talking on, and then she
<v Speaker 2>hangs up. And then the next day we see Carol
<v Speaker 2>walking to her lawyer's office and he tells her that
<v Speaker 2>Hard filed an injunction to not let her see her
<v Speaker 2>child and that he now wants soul custody, even though
<v Speaker 2>they had agreed on like joint custody, and they're saying
<v Speaker 2>that he should get the kid basically because of a
<v Speaker 2>morality clause, and she's a moral because she's gay, and
<v Speaker 2>so it's so stupid, and she's not allowed to see
<v Speaker 2>her until the custody hearing, which won't be until March
<v Speaker 2>or April, and we know that this is like Christmas time. Ye,
<v Speaker 2>she's not allowed to see her kid for like at
<v Speaker 2>least three months and then potentially not see her if
<v Speaker 2>he wins the soul custody, which is like so fucked up.
<v Speaker 2>And then we switch scenes to scene to res buying
<v Speaker 2>a record and she sees some lesbians and then they're
<v Speaker 2>like looking at her. I feel like they're looking at
<v Speaker 2>her kind of like angrily, but it's because they're probably like,
<v Speaker 2>why is a strict girl looking at us? If she
<v Speaker 2>gonna like say something or like you know, get a
<v Speaker 2>beat up by her boyfriend. But she's looking at them
<v Speaker 2>because I think she's like do I want that?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? I want that.
<v Speaker 2>And then Richard asked her to come to his family Christmas,
<v Speaker 2>and she's like, I don't really want to go. And
<v Speaker 2>then Richard's like, what about going to Europe? And she's like, no,
<v Speaker 2>I like want to be a photographer here, like I
<v Speaker 2>want to like talk to Danny's friend at the times
<v Speaker 2>and like start working on a portfolio. Yeah, And he's
<v Speaker 2>like and then she says something I don't know somehow
<v Speaker 2>it comes up that they haven't had sex.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, well, because she tells him like you, She's like,
<v Speaker 1>have you ever been in love? And he's like, well,
<v Speaker 1>no before you And she's like, but you said you
<v Speaker 1>were with two other girls and he's like.
<v Speaker 2>That was just sex.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. He was like, that's just sex. This doesn't mean anything.
<v Speaker 1>She's like, so you love me because we haven't gone
<v Speaker 1>all the way.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>But also how he calls her Terry. I'm like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>we'll get out of here.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. I like making her name, but he's
<v Speaker 2>like Terry.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, oh, you're ruining her room right now the
<v Speaker 1>name yes.
<v Speaker 2>And then and then she asks have you ever been
<v Speaker 2>in love with a boy?
<v Speaker 1>Very right? Wow?
<v Speaker 2>And then he's like gets all offended and I don't, girl,
<v Speaker 2>I'm not like that, and I don't know any people
<v Speaker 2>like that. And then he's like, when people are like that,
<v Speaker 2>it's because of something that happened to them. Basically, he's
<v Speaker 2>giving that old like thing people. It's only like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>because someone was abused or something, and that's the only
<v Speaker 2>reason that anyone would be gay. And then he's like,
<v Speaker 2>are you trying to tell me that you're like in
<v Speaker 2>love with a girl? Or something, and she's like, no,
<v Speaker 2>obviously she is, I know. And then he tries to
<v Speaker 2>ask her about getting married again and she's like, oh
<v Speaker 2>my god, no, what, like I want to leave alone.
<v Speaker 2>And then we cut to seeing Abby and Carol at
<v Speaker 2>drinks or lunch, and Abby is like blaming herself for
<v Speaker 2>the injunction because she's like, is this because of me?
<v Speaker 2>Because like I think she's kind of an out lesbian
<v Speaker 2>at this time, because they say like something like is
<v Speaker 2>this about Abbi? Blah blah blah. So I feel like
<v Speaker 2>it's like people, so you shouldn't be friends with her
<v Speaker 2>because people are gonna think you're gay, yeah, which is sad,
<v Speaker 2>even though Carol is gay, but like, you know, so
<v Speaker 2>she's feeling like it's her fault, like her association with
<v Speaker 2>her is causing this, and Carol's like, don't you dare
<v Speaker 2>to blame herself? And Abby's like, also, like, do you
<v Speaker 2>know what you're doing with that young girl? Like no,
<v Speaker 2>she's really young, and she's like, yeah, I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>but I never I never know what I'm doing. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>And then and then Abby is talking about some girl
<v Speaker 2>that she has her eye on that oh yeah.
<v Speaker 1>The redhead.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm like, oh, this is cute because like they
<v Speaker 2>you can be friends with your ex Yeah, well some
<v Speaker 2>people can, and I definitely understand it, especially at this time,
<v Speaker 2>because it's like they might be like some of the
<v Speaker 2>only like queer women that they know. Yeah, And I
<v Speaker 2>feel like we said before, like I feel like it's
<v Speaker 2>important to have friendships with people that are queer. And
<v Speaker 2>if she doesn't know anybody else, you got to you
<v Speaker 2>gotta hold on to your exes, you know.
<v Speaker 1>And it seems like they're both like over they just
<v Speaker 1>care about each other.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, she reminds me. I think I talked about I
<v Speaker 2>talk about Andrea Gibson a lot, but I remember when
<v Speaker 2>they passed away, it was like they they had like
<v Speaker 2>four of their ex is at the bed and like
<v Speaker 2>multiple friends and stuff, and it's like they were a
<v Speaker 2>person that really really believed in like stay friends with
<v Speaker 2>this these people because like you had a connection with them,
<v Speaker 2>you know. And I think it's really sweet that like
<v Speaker 2>all of these people still like loved them and showed up.
<v Speaker 2>And I still got to watch that Come See Me
<v Speaker 2>in the Good Light with that documentary that Tig made.
<v Speaker 2>It's it's out on Apple TV now, But I haven't
<v Speaker 2>watched it because I'm not ready to cry because I
<v Speaker 2>know I'm just gonna cry.
<v Speaker 1>Cry, cry, and I'm not ready.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, So anyway, then Carol shows up at Teresa's house
<v Speaker 2>with a suitcase and I was like, oh, she's moving
<v Speaker 2>in because she's being a sugar mama because at some
<v Speaker 2>Pointes had said like, oh well I don't even like
<v Speaker 2>have like a nice camera or anything. So she bought
<v Speaker 2>her new camera and like a whole box full of
<v Speaker 2>film and so that's really nice. Kind of reminds me
<v Speaker 2>of when Sherry Jaffe bought the whole like photography.
<v Speaker 1>Oh for shamee, Oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah yeah, yeah Sherry did that, didn't Sherry first bought
<v Speaker 2>her a salon, like and then when they was it
<v Speaker 2>her or Molly that bought her the photography thing. I
<v Speaker 2>think it was her later, I don't know. Anyway, makes
<v Speaker 2>me think of Sherry Jeffy and shame because there was
<v Speaker 2>also any difference and a financial difference. Yeah. Anywhood, then
<v Speaker 2>the thing happens that I mentioned earlier. There's a picture
<v Speaker 2>of Teresa's a little girl, and I feel weird about
<v Speaker 2>it because she's like touching it very like sentimentally, and
<v Speaker 2>I know that that's probably because Carol is thinking of
<v Speaker 2>her child, but it just makes it kind of weird
<v Speaker 2>to me because I feel like they particularly made the
<v Speaker 2>actresses look alike the child and the rest. And then
<v Speaker 2>Carol like kind of starts crying or I don't know
<v Speaker 2>if she's actually crying, but she does.
<v Speaker 1>She gets upset because she's like, you know, thinking about everything.
<v Speaker 2>So then she tells her about what's happening the whole Injunction,
<v Speaker 2>and she's like, I'm going to go away for a while.
<v Speaker 2>Do you want to come with me? And of course
<v Speaker 2>she's like yeah, hell yeah, literally, I will go wherever.
<v Speaker 2>And then the next day we see Teres packing to
<v Speaker 2>leave and Richard is like, what the fuck? You don't
<v Speaker 2>even know her, Like, wow, you just have a schoolgirl crush.
<v Speaker 1>I think you have a big crush on her.
<v Speaker 2>I don't have a crush on her.
<v Speaker 1>I just like her.
<v Speaker 2>I just think she's so interesting or whatever. Yeah, it's
<v Speaker 2>a crush. And he's like, you're going to be begging
<v Speaker 2>for me back in two weeks because this woman's going
<v Speaker 2>to get tired of you, and he like storms out.
<v Speaker 2>She's like whatever, I'm still going she packs all her
<v Speaker 2>stuff and the presence for Carol, and then we see
<v Speaker 2>them get in the car together, and then we see
<v Speaker 2>they stop at a diner and THEES gives Carol her present,
<v Speaker 2>which is the record that we saw her bye, and
<v Speaker 2>then she takes a picture of her at the diner,
<v Speaker 2>and then we see back sort of back home, back
<v Speaker 2>in like New York or where wherever they live, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>because I thought it was New York, but I think
<v Speaker 2>I think because they mentioned they mentioned somewhere in New
<v Speaker 2>Jersey later, So okay. Anyway, so we cut to Harje
<v Speaker 2>banging on Abby's door looking for Carol. He's like, she's
<v Speaker 2>not at home, so she must be with you, and
<v Speaker 2>I'm looking for her because Randy wants to see her
<v Speaker 2>mom for Christmas. And she's like, she isn't here, and also,
<v Speaker 2>you suck. I don't remember exactly what she says. She's
<v Speaker 2>like fuck you, yeah, very much, and he's like I
<v Speaker 2>love her, and Abby's like, I can't help you with that,
<v Speaker 2>and then he's.
<v Speaker 1>Like, yeah, you are so much right. Yeah, you're wanting
<v Speaker 1>to take away custody of.
<v Speaker 2>Her job exactly. And then we see Terres and Carol
<v Speaker 2>at a hotel and I realized that they're staying in
<v Speaker 2>different rooms Becauserettas knocks on the door and I'm like, oh, okay,
<v Speaker 2>I guess that makes sense because but I was thinking
<v Speaker 2>if the room had two beds, then it wouldn't be
<v Speaker 2>like suspicious. Which later they do stay in the same
<v Speaker 2>room with two beds, but I think they.
<v Speaker 1>Carol didn't want to. I feel like yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>And so anyway, when theres goes in, Carol is like
<v Speaker 2>taking a shower and she's like, can you get me
<v Speaker 2>my sweater or something? And she goes through her suitcase
<v Speaker 2>to find it and she finds a gun, so it's
<v Speaker 2>like whoa, oh no. Anyway, then she hands her her
<v Speaker 2>like thing through the door and Carol is like naked
<v Speaker 2>but you can't see it. But I think that it's
<v Speaker 2>very I think it's very exciting for trist She's like, oh, anyway,
<v Speaker 2>and then they do more driving and they eat sandwiches
<v Speaker 2>while they're driving, and I was really hungry when I
<v Speaker 2>was watching this. I was like, oh my god, I
<v Speaker 2>love Yeah, sandwiches are so good. And then they get
<v Speaker 2>to another motel and Carol tries to get two rooms,
<v Speaker 2>but Teresa's like, well, why not get the presidential suite.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, lady told her like they're more attractive, and
<v Speaker 2>so they get the presidential suite and it does have
<v Speaker 2>two beds. So I was like, I don't think that
<v Speaker 2>that looks like weird.
<v Speaker 1>But I don't know. But it's like, ooh, we're sharing
<v Speaker 1>the same room.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, but I just meant like from outside like yes,
<v Speaker 2>like oh, two women are sharing a room. But it's like, well,
<v Speaker 2>it has two beds, so I don't think it's like
<v Speaker 2>that weird, you know.
<v Speaker 1>And so.
<v Speaker 2>They then do each other's makeup and nails and try
<v Speaker 2>and perfume and it's the cutest thing ever. And I
<v Speaker 2>love being a lesbian because every night is girls' night.
<v Speaker 2>It's constantly a slumber party. I have so much fun
<v Speaker 2>all the time, just giggling with my wife and then
<v Speaker 2>she does my eyebrows for me, and we can do
<v Speaker 2>masks together, not like mask women, but like noks on
<v Speaker 2>and it's just so fun.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, So then they like go to sleep, but Terreza's
<v Speaker 2>not sleeping. She's just staring at Carol because I feel
<v Speaker 2>like she's like she's so beautiful.
<v Speaker 1>She's just like, oh my gosh, it's like my first
<v Speaker 1>time watching her. Yes, she's so beautiful.
<v Speaker 2>And then in the morning, a weird man tries to
<v Speaker 2>talk to Terre's and Carol pulls up a chair and
<v Speaker 2>I was like, why the fuck is this man not leaving?
<v Speaker 2>He's like not getting the hen Carol is pretty much
<v Speaker 2>ignoring him, and he doesn't seem to get the point
<v Speaker 2>because men are stupid. And then then later they're driving,
<v Speaker 2>they go to another hotel and they get a fancy suite,
<v Speaker 2>and then they get dinner at the hotel restaurant and
<v Speaker 2>we see Carol try to make a call. And then
<v Speaker 2>they go to Iowa and they're drinking beers and it's
<v Speaker 2>New Year's Eve and then she Carol puts her hands
<v Speaker 2>on both of Za's shoulders this time, and I thought
<v Speaker 2>this was very sexy. Then she just like undoes her
<v Speaker 2>robe and like, because Teresa's like sitting at the vanity, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>so it's like she can see that, Like she undid
<v Speaker 2>her robe and it's like, oh shit, it's on. And
<v Speaker 2>then then theresas they kiss and esays take me to bed,
<v Speaker 2>and I was like.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, she was very receptive to that kiss first of all,
<v Speaker 1>and then I was like, oh my god. And then
<v Speaker 1>she was just like, let's go to bed. Yes.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, it's giving bossy bottom vibes. She's very like,
<v Speaker 2>I want you to do this to me, do it.
<v Speaker 2>So I was like, okay, I like this like different
<v Speaker 2>dynamic of like their everyday life. Anyway. Then we see boobs,
<v Speaker 2>we Seeway's boobs, we see boobs, and then Carol goes
<v Speaker 2>to turn off the light and she's like, no, I
<v Speaker 2>want to see you. And I was like, oh, I
<v Speaker 2>love it.
<v Speaker 1>It's so sexual.
<v Speaker 2>And then Carol goes down on her and then I
<v Speaker 2>don't remember. Oh, this is where I realized I didn't
<v Speaker 2>watch the I was blacked out when I watched this
<v Speaker 2>movie the first time because I was like, I don't
<v Speaker 2>remember any of this. I literally don't remember them even
<v Speaker 2>starting the road trip. Oh my god, that's what I
<v Speaker 2>wrote in my notes. I was like, what the fuck,
<v Speaker 2>I don't remember any of this, And so that was interesting.
<v Speaker 2>And then Carol calls Terres her angel flung out of space,
<v Speaker 2>which is important because she said that when they first met,
<v Speaker 2>and I thought that was a weird thing to say,
<v Speaker 2>but I felt like it was important because it was
<v Speaker 2>a weird thing to say. So I was like she's
<v Speaker 2>probably gonna say it again and yeah, but I didn't
<v Speaker 2>write it down the first time anyway. Then in the morning,
<v Speaker 2>they're like being cute, and then when they go to
<v Speaker 2>check out, Carol finds out that she got a telegram
<v Speaker 2>and then when she sees it, she freaks out and
<v Speaker 2>goes to grab her gun, and we find out that
<v Speaker 2>that weird guy that was trying to talk to them
<v Speaker 2>is actually I think he's like a PI.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah he was.
<v Speaker 2>He was hired by the husband and he like got
<v Speaker 2>tapes of them that are in Rome. And so she
<v Speaker 2>is like threatening him with a gun and he's not scared,
<v Speaker 2>and then she tries to shoot his like recording machine
<v Speaker 2>thingy and the gun isn't loaded, and then thereres is
<v Speaker 2>like how could you to that man? And he's like,
<v Speaker 2>it's not personal, it's like my job, lady.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, He's like it's just business.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. And then Carol calls Abby and we find out
<v Speaker 2>she's the one that sent the telegram. So I think
<v Speaker 2>she sent it to warn her like he's doing this,
<v Speaker 2>which I don't really know how she knew that, but
<v Speaker 2>maybe because he came to the house. She's like, I
<v Speaker 2>have a feeling he's going to try to find you. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>And when they're in the car, Theres is saying she
<v Speaker 2>feels bad and like it's her fault because she should
<v Speaker 2>have said no to her. She's like, I never say
<v Speaker 2>no to people, and Carol pulls over and is like,
<v Speaker 2>I took what you gave willingly. And I also thought
<v Speaker 2>that was kind of a hot sexual thing. I was like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>she took what she gave willing. She was all about it.
<v Speaker 2>And then they go to another hotel and Carol is
<v Speaker 2>talking to Abby on the phone about how sad she is,
<v Speaker 2>and then they snuggle on one of the small beds,
<v Speaker 2>but the snuggling turns into sex. Yeah sometimes does what's
<v Speaker 2>that super saying like spooning leads the forking so dumb.
<v Speaker 2>And then in the morning, Terrez wakes up and Abby
<v Speaker 2>is there and not Carol, and she's like did she
<v Speaker 2>leave And she's like, yeah, she left early this morning
<v Speaker 2>and she's not coming back, and Terrees is like, this
<v Speaker 2>is all my faults and Abby is like nonsense, and
<v Speaker 2>then she says we should get going, so she's gonna
<v Speaker 2>drive her back home and Terres is like They're like.
<v Speaker 2>Then they're like having coffee and Teresa's like, why do
<v Speaker 2>you hate me? And I thought that was really weird
<v Speaker 2>because I didn't feel like her at all.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, she was just like I think maybe she was
<v Speaker 1>just in her feelings.
<v Speaker 2>Also, I was trying to be like she's so young
<v Speaker 2>and immature, like, because I'm like, why would she think
<v Speaker 2>she hates her?
<v Speaker 1>She like, yeah, she did it, honestly.
<v Speaker 2>She's like, I flew across halfway across the country to
<v Speaker 2>come drive you back, Like obviously I don't hate you. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>So that was weird. And then I think, is this
<v Speaker 2>when she gives her the letter?
<v Speaker 1>Oh, I think she's jealous soul because she was just like, well,
<v Speaker 1>you're not doing it for me, doing it for Carol.
<v Speaker 1>But I'm like, she doesn't even know you, so yeah,
<v Speaker 1>she's going to do it for Carol.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, it doesn't mean that she hates you. She's like,
<v Speaker 2>what happened with you too? And Abby's like it was
<v Speaker 2>completely different. I've known her since I was ten, and
<v Speaker 2>I was like, were they both ten or wash that's
<v Speaker 2>the same age?
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god, Carol's immortal she's been Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>But anyway, I guess they hooked up five years ago
<v Speaker 2>and then at some point it changed and it's no
<v Speaker 2>one's fault. That just happens, Like they just weren't into
<v Speaker 2>each other that way. Yeah again, but then they were
<v Speaker 2>just friends. Then she gives her a letter from Carol,
<v Speaker 2>and Terrez like takes it outside to read it in private,
<v Speaker 2>and the letter says that he would have found them
<v Speaker 2>eventually no matter what. Basically like, it's not your fault.
<v Speaker 2>She's also like, you were seeking resolutions because.
<v Speaker 1>You are young, and one day you don't understand, and.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, oh, yeah, maybe she's too young for you.
<v Speaker 2>But anyway, but then she's like, when you do, imagine
<v Speaker 2>me there to greet you. She says there must be
<v Speaker 2>no contact between them and that she would do anything
<v Speaker 2>to see her happy, and that is why she is
<v Speaker 2>releasing her. But obviously Terrez is like really sad. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>And we see Terrez getting home. She develops all her
<v Speaker 2>pictures and she has these beautiful pictures of Carol, and
<v Speaker 2>we see her make a call to Carol and Carol
<v Speaker 2>answers and then they just kind of listen to each
<v Speaker 2>other breathe for it, like you think of a second. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>and then she has and then later we see another
<v Speaker 2>day she has Danny the guy that has the friend
<v Speaker 2>with the photography stuff. He's over there and he sees
<v Speaker 2>the picture of Carol and he's like, well, these are
<v Speaker 2>so good, but she doesn't want him to see it
<v Speaker 2>and like doesn't want to talk about it because I
<v Speaker 2>feel like it's very personal. And then he's like, I
<v Speaker 2>could introduce you to my friend at the times. And
<v Speaker 2>then he tries to talk to her about Carol, like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>you went away with her right, Like she doesn't want
<v Speaker 2>to talk about it, she like shuts down. And then
<v Speaker 2>he's helping her pain her.
<v Speaker 1>Part and I was like, wow, so pretty color.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and then we see Carol and Harge at his
<v Speaker 2>parents' house and Rendy isn't there and Carol is sad,
<v Speaker 2>and then they're talking about how Carol is going to
<v Speaker 2>this psychotherapist who is helping her and I was like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>helping her Navia so that she can get to see
<v Speaker 2>her kid, like she has to like so fucked up? Why? Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>And then Rendy gets home and Carol is so happy,
<v Speaker 2>and this is the scene where Rendy's wearing this like
<v Speaker 2>cute green outfit with a green hat, and then literally
<v Speaker 2>right after that, we cut to seeing Terre's meeting with
<v Speaker 2>Richard Blop and getting all her stuff at the park,
<v Speaker 2>and she's wearing a very similar green hat and that's
<v Speaker 2>why I was like, why do they keep making them
<v Speaker 2>do such similar things? That's so weird to me. Then
<v Speaker 2>we see Carol and Abby at Carol's house and she's like,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know how long I can keep this up
<v Speaker 2>for so basically like this pretending and going to the
<v Speaker 2>psychotherapist and like trying to play nice, and she asks
<v Speaker 2>They kind of ask each other like have you heard
<v Speaker 2>about from Terrez or have you? And Abby's like no,
<v Speaker 2>she probably started her job at the Times by now,
<v Speaker 2>and Carol is like, she hasn't tried to call me
<v Speaker 2>in like a month. And it's like, well, how long
<v Speaker 2>do you want to Why do you want to?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you said no contacts. Yeah, And so.
<v Speaker 2>Then Carol is like, basically like I should have asked
<v Speaker 2>her to wait, like she shouldn't have done it the
<v Speaker 2>way that she did, which I agree, But anyway, vin
<v Speaker 2>A Carr pulls into the driveway and Abby says she
<v Speaker 2>will leave, but then Carol's like no, and then they
<v Speaker 2>go to the door together. I don't really know.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know who that was supposed to be.
<v Speaker 2>The point was that she doesn't want to live in
<v Speaker 2>like a lie anymore, and so she's like, I'm not
<v Speaker 2>going to make you leave, Like we can answer this
<v Speaker 2>door together no matter who it is, Like, I'm not
<v Speaker 2>going to hide my gayness. I think that was the point,
<v Speaker 2>because I kept thinking they were going to show us who.
<v Speaker 1>Was at the door too. Yeah, there was another deeper
<v Speaker 1>meaning to yes.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, oh, okay, we just figured it out.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 2>So then on another day, Carol is in a cab
<v Speaker 2>and she sees Terrez walking and then we see Carol
<v Speaker 2>and Harge at a custody hearing and they say that,
<v Speaker 2>well her lawyer. Carol's lawyer is like, well, Harge's behavior
<v Speaker 2>caused her emotional break and.
<v Speaker 1>Then that's why she went and had a little lesbian yes.
<v Speaker 2>And then they're all like fighting, like everybody is like
<v Speaker 2>kind of like getting upset, and then Carol is like,
<v Speaker 2>please let me talk, and she's addresses hard and she's like,
<v Speaker 2>I just want you to be happy, and like we
<v Speaker 2>gave each other the greatest gift ever, which is rendy
<v Speaker 2>and I am not going to deny that I wanted
<v Speaker 2>what happened with Terrez, and I will not regret it,
<v Speaker 2>but I don't want to ruin our child's life. And
<v Speaker 2>you can go ahead and have full custody, but I
<v Speaker 2>want regular visits. And she says basically like what you
<v Speaker 2>submitde to Rendy if I'm living life this way going
<v Speaker 2>against my own grain, so like if she were to
<v Speaker 2>keep leaving a lie, like she's not a good example
<v Speaker 2>for her daughter, like wow. And then she leaves and
<v Speaker 2>goes to a diner and then we switch to seed
<v Speaker 2>Theres at her new job, and it's a whole bunch
<v Speaker 2>of men, which makes sense, like any job at this
<v Speaker 2>time is a bunch of men. Yeah, And then a
<v Speaker 2>guy walks in and gives her a letter or a
<v Speaker 2>telegram and it's from Carol asking her to meet for
<v Speaker 2>Tea that evening.
<v Speaker 1>And then we get back to the.
<v Speaker 2>Beginning scene because then we are we see the hotel lobby,
<v Speaker 2>We see that Carol like is on the phone there,
<v Speaker 2>but she gets off the phone and goes to see
<v Speaker 2>Terres and then they're like sitting together, so we're like, okay,
<v Speaker 2>we're back at the beginning. And then Carol asks if
<v Speaker 2>Teres hates her, and she says no, how could I,
<v Speaker 2>and Carol says she's proud of her and that she's blossomed,
<v Speaker 2>which I also thought was you're.
<v Speaker 1>So grown up now, Oh my god. Like all it's
<v Speaker 1>different is that she's I think grain makeup and her
<v Speaker 1>hair different job. Yeah, and her hair is just like
<v Speaker 1>a little different. It's not like straight that she has
<v Speaker 1>it like kind of something. Yeah. I'm like that's the
<v Speaker 1>only thing.
<v Speaker 2>But okay, Yeah, and then she's like telling her about
<v Speaker 2>how they're selling the house and she got an apartment
<v Speaker 2>in the city and she has a new job, and
<v Speaker 2>she's like, Teresa's like, have you seen rendy? And she
<v Speaker 2>said a couple of times, but she's living with Harge
<v Speaker 2>because it's the right thing. And then she's like, so
<v Speaker 2>I have an apartment, do you want to come live
<v Speaker 2>with me?
<v Speaker 1>There? Yeah, that was crazy. She was like, I don't
<v Speaker 1>suppose you'd want to like come live with me, and
<v Speaker 1>Terest just like no. I was like, good for her,
<v Speaker 1>because that's crazy. Yes.
<v Speaker 2>So this was when I thought, Okay, is she going
<v Speaker 2>to be like I don't want to be with you?
<v Speaker 2>But that's not really what happened because then they kind
<v Speaker 2>of get interrupted. So Carol invites her to come and
<v Speaker 2>meet some friends for dinner at this other like restaurant
<v Speaker 2>in the city, and she doesn't answer, and then Carol
<v Speaker 2>is like, I love you, and then that stupid man
<v Speaker 2>comes up and interrupts them, and so it was like
<v Speaker 2>he picked like the worst time, literally, and so like
<v Speaker 2>the but still, yeah, would never interrupt, never interrupt two
<v Speaker 2>women talking, Yeah, And so then Carol leaves and there's
<v Speaker 2>like they show her like almost run after her, but
<v Speaker 2>then she doesn't, like she stops herself, and then she
<v Speaker 2>goes in the bathroom and like puts water on her face.
<v Speaker 2>So it's obviously like having feelings. And then she does
<v Speaker 2>go to the stupid party, and then she sees her ex,
<v Speaker 2>Richard PLoP at the party, and then we see Kerry
<v Speaker 2>Bronstein and she totally plays a lesbian. She is like
<v Speaker 2>they're looking at each other and I feel like they're
<v Speaker 2>being really flirty, and I was like, obviously, whether there's
<v Speaker 2>just the only other day here, like yeah, and then uh,
<v Speaker 2>we see Terres leave the party and catch a cab
<v Speaker 2>and she goes to the restaurant that Carol told her about,
<v Speaker 2>and she goes right past the host searching for Carol,
<v Speaker 2>and then she finds Carol with her friends and then
<v Speaker 2>they lock eyes and that's like.
<v Speaker 1>How it is like this like super intense contact and like.
<v Speaker 2>Sort of like a like a smile from Karen, like
<v Speaker 2>she's like they're like, she's like I.
<v Speaker 1>Got it like that. So yeah, that was That was
<v Speaker 1>the end. That was Carol. Guys was Carol.
<v Speaker 3>So, uh, we will do a munch, merge, murder. The
<v Speaker 3>options are like you said that we will do okay.
<v Speaker 2>Abby, Carols okay, do you have yours?
<v Speaker 1>Well?
<v Speaker 2>I don't like Carol that much. Okay, So I would
<v Speaker 2>murder Carol, and I would I would merge with Abby okay,
<v Speaker 2>and I would munch tores.
<v Speaker 1>Okay. Yeah, that is interesting. It is. I think it's
<v Speaker 1>a tie between Abby and Carol, whether or not I
<v Speaker 1>want to merge with either of them. But I think
<v Speaker 1>I would merge with Carrol, I would munch Abby, and
<v Speaker 1>I would kill Tersteh.
<v Speaker 2>Wow, I'm so different. I was like get rid of
<v Speaker 2>them in character. I don't like her.
<v Speaker 1>We always do that sometimes we're always just like, m yeah,
<v Speaker 1>one of them we like, we don't.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, okay, So what would you rate this movie on
<v Speaker 2>a scale of one to five?
<v Speaker 1>This is going to shock you, I think, but I
<v Speaker 1>genuinely really liked it this time around, so I want
<v Speaker 1>to give it a five. Five child, Yeah, I know.
<v Speaker 1>If you had caught me like way back then, I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>not enough boobs, too long, I don't like it. And
<v Speaker 1>then this time around, I like you said my friend's allow. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>now it's now developed, and I'm like, knowledge, I like this,
<v Speaker 1>what about you?
<v Speaker 2>I was torn on this one kind of similar to
<v Speaker 2>the last one, even though they're totally different vibes. But
<v Speaker 2>I was torn between a three and a four because
<v Speaker 2>I do feel like when I watched it sober, I
<v Speaker 2>could actually pay attention, it was important. I think it
<v Speaker 2>was really cool that it talked about all of the
<v Speaker 2>I mean, there are so many women and probably men
<v Speaker 2>that are gay that have lost like relationships with their
<v Speaker 2>children during these times because they're like, oh, you're gay,
<v Speaker 2>you can't be around them. So that was messed up.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, I think I'm gonna give it a four.
<v Speaker 2>It's only not a five because I am weirded out
<v Speaker 2>by the daughter and Terrest's similarities.
<v Speaker 1>I figured that five.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, So we have done our ratings, okay, so then okay,
<v Speaker 2>it's time for our last break, and then we're gonna

<v Speaker 1>Welcome back. This week, we are going to talk about
<v Speaker 1>our current obsessions. Yes, what is your current obsession?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, I have two because I can never just choose one.
<v Speaker 1>I know, it's always two.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, So the first one I was thinking of is
<v Speaker 2>putting cute little bow tie collars on my baby boy.
<v Speaker 2>Atta kiss my kitty.
<v Speaker 1>He just looks so cute. I got so distinguished, Yes,
<v Speaker 1>my boy.
<v Speaker 2>So I got him one for like every holiday. And
<v Speaker 2>then god, yeah, that was like it's like an obsession.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, I have to buy one for every holiday.
<v Speaker 1>New Year's yes, yes.
<v Speaker 2>There's even like a fourth of July one.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>Well, I make him wear that a Marco one, I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, Yeah, he has to, but it's so it's cute.
<v Speaker 2>She has like a Valentine's Day like little Heart anyway,
<v Speaker 2>so cute, and he actually like doesn't mind wearing them.
<v Speaker 2>Which our cats that we've had in the past, we
<v Speaker 2>used to try to put collars on them and they
<v Speaker 2>would take them off of each other, but.
<v Speaker 1>They had each other to take that's so good.
<v Speaker 2>He like plays with Junie and stuff, and they seem
<v Speaker 2>to be wearing their collars okay, at least for now.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, so it's really cute. So that's one of
<v Speaker 2>my obsessions putting them on him. And he's so sweet.
<v Speaker 2>He likes to like he'll just like come right up
<v Speaker 2>to you. If you're like, I think he's come here,
<v Speaker 2>I have to put your collar on. He's like, he's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I think he likes looking Dancy's so.
<v Speaker 1>Was cute, I know.
<v Speaker 2>Okay. My other one is it's Freedom McFadden books. So
<v Speaker 2>if you are not familiar. She is most famous for
<v Speaker 2>the Housemaid series, which I don't know when the movie
<v Speaker 2>comes out, but they're making a Housemaid movie and I
<v Speaker 2>feel like it's coming out next year because I feel
<v Speaker 2>like they already finished filming. But it has Sidney Sweeney
<v Speaker 2>in it, which is probably like kind of socks. But
<v Speaker 2>it also has what's her name that looks just like
<v Speaker 2>her but older, the girl from Me and Girls, Amanda
<v Speaker 2>say Freed.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, I just saw the trailer to it. Actually, really,
<v Speaker 1>yeah I did. Actually I just saw the trailer to it.
<v Speaker 1>It was when I was watching that Christmas movie I
<v Speaker 1>was telling you about.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, yeah, okay, Well did it say when it's coming out?
<v Speaker 1>No, I didn't see that, but I think you're right.
<v Speaker 1>It's next year.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, Well I love it.
<v Speaker 1>Seems interesting, yes.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, No, it's really good. The book is really good,
<v Speaker 2>so I'm excited for the movie. But yeah, Frida writes
<v Speaker 2>all kinds.
<v Speaker 1>Of we have just been updated. It is coming out
<v Speaker 1>December ninety what, so even we better see it? Yeah
<v Speaker 1>we should. Okay everyone, We're inviting you guys. Everyone.
<v Speaker 2>Everyone go see it everything at the same time. Talk
<v Speaker 2>about it on on TikTok because I don't think that
<v Speaker 2>we can't do a whole episode. Yeah yeah, wow, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>I'm so excited. So anyway, I love all of her
<v Speaker 2>books that I've read so far. The first one I
<v Speaker 2>read was actually not the Housemaid one, even though one
<v Speaker 2>the first one I read was called Never Lie, and
<v Speaker 2>it was I thought I had figured it out at
<v Speaker 2>the beginning, but there were more twists and turns, so
<v Speaker 2>it's really good. And then I read this one called
<v Speaker 2>The Intruder I've read. I'm on the fourth Housemaid book,
<v Speaker 2>well technically third, but there's like one in the middle
<v Speaker 2>of book two and three that's like like a mini
<v Speaker 2>book called The Housemaid's Wedding. So anyway, I've read all
<v Speaker 2>those and now I have them like all on my
<v Speaker 2>two be read because she has a bunch. She has
<v Speaker 2>like one called The Boyfriend. I know a lot of
<v Speaker 2>them are wow in the name. I've noticed the Housemaid.
<v Speaker 2>So anyway, I'm really into those. So that's my fun
<v Speaker 2>current obsession. Are any of them I have a question
<v Speaker 2>about this. Are any of them like super gay?
<v Speaker 1>I don't think so. I know, maybe in the future
<v Speaker 1>she will branch out and make something gay.
<v Speaker 2>I mean I feel like she should. I mean, maybe
<v Speaker 2>I need to read more of them, but I feel
<v Speaker 2>like I would have heard about it if they were gay,
<v Speaker 2>because I'm on like lesbian book talk, and so usually
<v Speaker 2>any lesbian book.
<v Speaker 4>Any hints of like, yeah, kind of gay I hear
<v Speaker 4>about so yeah, okay, wait's I feel like I only
<v Speaker 4>have one surprise on the side because I can't think
<v Speaker 4>of so many.
<v Speaker 1>No, it's okay. Last time I feel like I had too,
<v Speaker 1>didn't I Or maybe I'm lying. I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>you had two at least once. Yeah, this time around,
<v Speaker 1>it's just so I Reso Talco, Oh my god, so good.
<v Speaker 1>I used to really like Criso when I was a teenager,
<v Speaker 1>but then I stopped eating it for a while because
<v Speaker 1>I like had that all the time and I got
<v Speaker 1>really sick of it. So I was like, I need
<v Speaker 1>a break from it. And then as an adult, I
<v Speaker 1>was like, oh my god, I've discovered it again. So
<v Speaker 1>it's been in nachos, it's been in tacos. It's just
<v Speaker 1>been there. I even used it in chili that last
<v Speaker 1>time I was telling you it, it was like instead
<v Speaker 1>of obviously just like to the like before I became
<v Speaker 1>a vegetarian again, like the turkey Yeah I did turkey chili.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah before with like hamburger, when I was oh yeah,
<v Speaker 2>we would do Yeah, you're making a little healthier.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, just a little bit, yeah, but this one around.
<v Speaker 1>We did Curriso in there and I'm so freaking good,
<v Speaker 1>but I want to stop. It's my obsession right now.
<v Speaker 1>But not like the Potstircers, where I ate it so
<v Speaker 1>much they needed a break. I literally was eating them
<v Speaker 1>like every meal. Every time you would ask me like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>are you making for dinner? I'm like, I want to
<v Speaker 1>come up with different But.
<v Speaker 2>What brand do you get?
<v Speaker 1>We get the one from foods Co. Is it like
<v Speaker 1>or something?
<v Speaker 2>No, it's like the fuck, I have to I should
<v Speaker 2>look at what one I haven't. I only see it
<v Speaker 2>because it's on foodsc on my fridge and.
<v Speaker 1>It's I've tried the other ones before and they weren't bad,
<v Speaker 1>but so far this one is like my favorite and
<v Speaker 1>it just so happens to be on my's favorite too.
<v Speaker 2>So we both agree to get that one nice something.
<v Speaker 2>It's the kind that comes in the little package, like yeah, and.
<v Speaker 1>The little package. Yes, I will look for it and
<v Speaker 1>show you after. I don't know why.
<v Speaker 2>Well, I'll show you what we have in the fridge
<v Speaker 2>later so you can see if it's I'm like, you
<v Speaker 2>always get it at the grocery outlet because it's my favorite.
<v Speaker 2>Star I guess I should do a current obsession about
<v Speaker 2>grocery outlet, but it's been my obsession for the last
<v Speaker 2>like ten years, so it's really it's a constance. I
<v Speaker 2>fucking love the grocery outlet. We get so many deals there.
<v Speaker 2>We should do like the opposite of current and have
<v Speaker 2>like what has your obsession been for? Like? Yes, no,
<v Speaker 2>what's your long long standing obsessions?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, we'll do a special episode.
<v Speaker 2>Is that?
<v Speaker 1>Oh that's all I can. I love it. It's so good.
<v Speaker 1>It is.
<v Speaker 2>If anyone hasn't tried it, you should try it it.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't try it for a really long time because
<v Speaker 2>it's like the vegetarian or vegan version of choriso. I
<v Speaker 2>don't like Terisa, so I was like, I'm not gonna
<v Speaker 2>like this, and it doesn't it either. It tastes like chiso,
<v Speaker 2>which is great in this case because like with a
<v Speaker 2>Beyond burger, you're like, I want it to taste like
<v Speaker 2>a burger. But since I don't like chiso, I'm really
<v Speaker 2>glad it doesn't taste like it. It tastes so much
<v Speaker 2>better because the thing with chariso is it has like
<v Speaker 2>a lot of like weird fat I don't know it's
<v Speaker 2>not as fad because it has all this like fat
<v Speaker 2>pockets in it.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I was always really weird about like what meats I
<v Speaker 2>would eat when I was a kid. I would make
<v Speaker 2>my mom like, get all of the fat off of
<v Speaker 2>my steak if they make steak, and then I still
<v Speaker 2>would find more pieces of fat and it would just ruined,
<v Speaker 2>and I want to eat it. I would also make
<v Speaker 2>her melt American cheese on it.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, we're making stup there. Oh wow, I
<v Speaker 1>don't know.
<v Speaker 2>My natural white trashiness.
<v Speaker 1>I just need this. It's not a steak, it's not
<v Speaker 1>Caitlin's steak without I need it. Now. We need to
<v Speaker 1>do the vegan version of that. And you like, yeah, but.
<v Speaker 2>Vecan steaks are so expensive, so I don't want to
<v Speaker 2>waste it by putting a.
<v Speaker 1>Piece of cheese on the top.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. No, you just don't like it exactly.
<v Speaker 1>It could probably it will like bring you back to
<v Speaker 1>when you have you have.
<v Speaker 2>You heard of people putting the slice of cheddar cheese
<v Speaker 2>on apple pie?
<v Speaker 1>What?
<v Speaker 2>No, Oh my god, I've done that, but I've heard
<v Speaker 2>of it. Apparently it's really popular in like I don't know,
<v Speaker 2>certain pockets of America.
<v Speaker 1>Have you tried that like before?
<v Speaker 2>No, I feel like it sounds gross. I love apple pie,
<v Speaker 2>but I like it. Have you seen Little the Sunshine?
<v Speaker 1>Yes?
<v Speaker 2>Like, don't think I would want cheese with or without
<v Speaker 2>ice cream on it. I don't think I would be
<v Speaker 2>that big of a fan. I mean maybe if it
<v Speaker 2>was like, you know, like like like a soft cheese
<v Speaker 2>that can like go with something, you know, like a
<v Speaker 2>breeze and then it goes something sweet nicely. But cheddar
<v Speaker 2>cheese sounds gross, Yeah, it does. I don't know. I
<v Speaker 2>do like to try new things. If there was a
<v Speaker 2>vegan restaurant that had it on the menu. I took
<v Speaker 2>this quiz once when I was like on a diet.
<v Speaker 2>It was like, what kind of eater are you? I'm
<v Speaker 2>an adventure eater. Oh so I always picked the weirdest
<v Speaker 2>thing on the menu. So like, if there was a
<v Speaker 2>vegan restaurant that had that, I would order it.
<v Speaker 1>My nose are breaking out.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if you were here on the audio version,
<v Speaker 2>but we have our little reindeer ears and they have
<v Speaker 2>little bells. So I keep hearing the bells and I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>who is that?
<v Speaker 1>It's Jill.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, our little baby girler is not a lot in
<v Speaker 2>the room. It's my kitten and she's too crazy so
<v Speaker 2>when she gets old door. Yes, okay, so we had
<v Speaker 2>so much fun. I feel like this was a fun episode,
<v Speaker 2>but I think they're all fun. So thank you so

<v Speaker 1>Yes, so tune in next week for our New Year's episode.
<v Speaker 1>We're going to discuss I Hate New Year's Available on Amazon, Prime, YouTube,
<v Speaker 1>and Fandango. Yes you have to run you give them options.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yes, but it sucks because I can't find it
<v Speaker 2>on any streaming services where you don't have to rent it.
<v Speaker 1>So that's why we put.
<v Speaker 2>Multiple options because we're like, I think it was two
<v Speaker 2>ninety nine on.
<v Speaker 1>Each of these. Okay, that's not bad, right, yeah, but
<v Speaker 1>you know what, I.
<v Speaker 2>Think that the money goes to support, like it seems
<v Speaker 2>like a very independent Oh. I don't know. I've never
<v Speaker 2>seen it, but I saw the cover and it looked
<v Speaker 2>a little bit low budget. So we want to help
<v Speaker 2>independent makers, Okay, especially if they're making gay stuff. Anyway,
<v Speaker 2>we will see you next Tuesday. Executive producers for Bud
<v Speaker 2>I'm a Lesbian are Caitlin Beatty and Angelina Herrera. Produced
