<v Speaker 1>Welcome to But I'm a Lesbian, the podcast where we
<v Speaker 1>serve all batty SaaS, queer, film reviews, and everything in between.
<v Speaker 1>Whether you were a baby, gay.
<v Speaker 2>Or a clear elder, We're here, We're clear, and we're
<v Speaker 2>diving deep into all things lesbian. We're your hosts, Caitlin
<v Speaker 2>and Angelina. Get ready for some suffix serotonin. Okay. On
<v Speaker 2>today's episode, we will be discussing the twenty eighteen lesbian
<v Speaker 2>Thanksgiving movie Lesbomb. It's a silly name. I yeah, help,
<v Speaker 2>but mention it. I'm like, oh, so I thought this
<v Speaker 2>would be a good time to talk about Thanksgiving food.
<v Speaker 2>What do you have a favorite Thanksgiving food.
<v Speaker 3>That's hard?
<v Speaker 2>Do you like all of it? Or are there like
<v Speaker 2>are you like I don't like Thanksgiving food.
<v Speaker 3>I don't mind it, but that was like, that's the thing.
<v Speaker 1>It's so different, I feel like because when we would
<v Speaker 1>do Thanksgiving, my grandma did not like turkey, so we
<v Speaker 1>would always make her a ham. But then everyone else
<v Speaker 1>wanted turkey, so they had turkey.
<v Speaker 2>I know, sorry, im more than turkey. I never liked ham.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I know.
<v Speaker 1>She she was the opposite, so we would make her
<v Speaker 1>like a special one because obviously we're like, okay, of
<v Speaker 1>course you get what you are. Yeah, and then we
<v Speaker 1>would like add in like the normal stuff where it's like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>what do you think of Thanksgiving food stuffing turkey mashed potatoes.
<v Speaker 1>But we also would do and I was just talking
<v Speaker 1>about this with my coworker and he's like, oh, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>us too. So I don't know if this is weird,
<v Speaker 1>but we just do Mexican rice with.
<v Speaker 2>No Oh my god, that favorite favor. That is so funny. Okay.
<v Speaker 2>So my wife's brother was like not in the picture
<v Speaker 2>for like a while, and so my first Thanksgiving with him,
<v Speaker 2>like with the family, was I think two years ago now,
<v Speaker 2>and he was like, why are you guys having mom's rice?
<v Speaker 3>And what do you mean?
<v Speaker 2>Well, I was like, that's our tradition now, okay, like
<v Speaker 2>because it was favorite food is like her mom's rice.
<v Speaker 2>So she always makes us. She makes everybody else the
<v Speaker 2>regular rice, and she makes us a giant thing of
<v Speaker 2>vegan rice and that is like a part of what
<v Speaker 2>we have. So I'm glad that you also have rice.
<v Speaker 2>That we were being weird, and I was like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>every time.
<v Speaker 1>They say it, Like I talked to my friends and
<v Speaker 1>they're like oh yeah, which is everyone has their own thing, right,
<v Speaker 1>but they're like, you also have rice, and I'm like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>we including everything. And there was also a time when
<v Speaker 1>we obviously Thanksgiving came around when I was a teenager
<v Speaker 1>and I was vegetarian and so it was my sister,
<v Speaker 1>so we did like little like like potato thinkies with
<v Speaker 1>like tofu and like, I don't know, we did that
<v Speaker 1>and then now again this year too, yeah, and yeah
<v Speaker 1>that's my favorite.
<v Speaker 3>Part, so we both have a favorite part.
<v Speaker 2>My god, oh my god, I love I love having
<v Speaker 2>Mexican rice for Thanksgiving. It's so good. Okay. I also
<v Speaker 2>wanted to ask if you have any special traditions. Well,
<v Speaker 2>I guess it was a special tradition to make a
<v Speaker 2>ham for your grandma because yeah, but.
<v Speaker 1>No, we yeah, yeah, that was the special tradition.
<v Speaker 3>What else would we do?
<v Speaker 1>Well, usually my family would just come down and visit,
<v Speaker 1>which is still gonna happen. My theo is gonna come down.
<v Speaker 1>But other than that, no, we don't have like any
<v Speaker 1>other like thing.
<v Speaker 3>What about you, Yeah, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I guess we've kind of made traditions in like recent years,
<v Speaker 2>like we've been doing this thing where my niece will
<v Speaker 2>uh come over the night before Thanksgiving and spend the night,
<v Speaker 2>and then like I will usually make a pie or
<v Speaker 2>two pies. It's funny though, because we always go to
<v Speaker 2>my wife's family's house because I'm not like that close
<v Speaker 2>with my family, and like I do talk to my mom,
<v Speaker 2>but she lives in Oregon, so I'll not close. But
<v Speaker 2>my wife's family lived like the town over right, so
<v Speaker 2>we always go there. And so it is funny though,
<v Speaker 2>because I like, I'm like, oh, I'm gonna make a
<v Speaker 2>fancy pie, like I made pecan pi, and my wife,
<v Speaker 2>I don't think she'd tried pacanpi before, and she's like,
<v Speaker 2>I love it.
<v Speaker 3>I love pacompi.
<v Speaker 2>So we're gonna make a pacan pie again this year.
<v Speaker 2>But it's funny because I don't feel like her family
<v Speaker 2>ever eats my pies that I make. They always get
<v Speaker 2>the pie from Costco or whatever, like the apple and pumpkin,
<v Speaker 2>and they just beat that and I'm like, you, guys,
<v Speaker 2>I made this pie. I think her dad will eat
<v Speaker 2>it because he likes anything, yeah, and he loves sweets.
<v Speaker 2>But I think usually, if anything, they just do it
<v Speaker 2>to appease me. Like one time, I one time I
<v Speaker 2>had this crazy for like the candied yams, and no,
<v Speaker 2>I don't think anyone really liked it. They were like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>they're like, yeah, I hate the same when I made
<v Speaker 2>green bean castle roll one time, I fucking love greeny
<v Speaker 2>Castle so good, but like, it's really hard to make
<v Speaker 2>a vegan version of it, especially without mushrooms because my
<v Speaker 2>wife hates mushrooms and it's like cream of mushrooms soup. Anyway,
<v Speaker 2>it was good, but it wasn't as good as if
<v Speaker 2>it had mushrooms. But yeah, nobody was that into it.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, we have. We always make our own like roast,
<v Speaker 2>so we usually do a tofurky because the og is
<v Speaker 2>the best. I gotta tell you it's if you have
<v Speaker 2>you had a tofer ky, Oh you gotta buy it.
<v Speaker 2>Get it from Sprouts. We're gonna go to Sprouts soon
<v Speaker 2>because they usually have sales, sometimes lessons, but usually Sprouts
<v Speaker 2>will have a sale and after oh if there's any
<v Speaker 2>vegetarians or vegans listening and you have a Sprouts near you,
<v Speaker 2>after Thanksgiving and Christmas, so usually like January first dish
<v Speaker 2>or the very end of December, they have like to
<v Speaker 2>furkys and field roasts like all kinds of vegan roasts
<v Speaker 2>for like ninety nine cents to five dollars at Sprouts
<v Speaker 2>because unfortunately, I guess they always order too much. And
<v Speaker 2>I got like six of the like feasts like it
<v Speaker 2>came with the toe furky, a big brownie, and then
<v Speaker 2>like two things of gravy for ninet nine cents each.
<v Speaker 2>I need to turn into one of those white people
<v Speaker 2>that have like a cooler for.
<v Speaker 3>Your extra Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>But because I was like, why'd you buy all these?
<v Speaker 2>They don't fit in our freezer, and I was like,
<v Speaker 2>we gotta make them fit. So we were taking them
<v Speaker 2>out of the boxes and like you know, just like
<v Speaker 2>taking a picture of the directions. Anyway, I love to
<v Speaker 2>freaky so good if you put like when you cook it,
<v Speaker 2>you use just like soy sauce, a little bit of
<v Speaker 2>olive oil and then like rosemary and sage, and it's so good,
<v Speaker 2>and then you can make like a homemade gravy if
<v Speaker 2>you don't have the to furkey gravy. I love Thanksgiving.
<v Speaker 2>I'm really excited about it. You couldn't tell I love it.
<v Speaker 2>But oh, the thing I was gonna say is my
<v Speaker 2>wife's family, her mom hates turkey too. But they would
<v Speaker 2>always make a chicken instead. They would make like a
<v Speaker 2>big roast chicken or whatever. So I don't know that
<v Speaker 2>she likes hammer either, So it was always a chicken
<v Speaker 2>that they would do. So they still do that. They
<v Speaker 2>still do their chicken. Okay, AnyWho. I thought that was
<v Speaker 2>really important, So let's move on. Do you have any
<v Speaker 2>hot takes or burning desires that you want to share
<v Speaker 2>about this movie.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know how many of our viewers have seen lesbim,
<v Speaker 1>but watch it. Yeah, you should watch it and then
<v Speaker 1>tell us what you think about it.
<v Speaker 3>But I also hated it.
<v Speaker 1>I hated it when I first watched it, but again,
<v Speaker 1>I was just trying to consume any in all lesbian media.
<v Speaker 1>But I still hated it, and I hate it now.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think that's really a hot take. Maybe people
<v Speaker 1>like it.
<v Speaker 2>I mean there's probably somebody out there that likes it.
<v Speaker 2>I thought that everyone hated Blue is the Warmest color
<v Speaker 2>because I hate it, and I found out it has
<v Speaker 2>so many fans.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, people love it.
<v Speaker 2>I don't love it because it was creepy, but you
<v Speaker 2>know what, I get that the we'll talk about Louis
<v Speaker 2>Worm's color.
<v Speaker 3>I need to have like a whole season for me.
<v Speaker 2>For some people, I think for a lot of people
<v Speaker 2>it was like the first like Lesbie stream for me
<v Speaker 2>that they saw. Yeah, it holds a special place for people.
<v Speaker 2>I just wish that it wasn't directed by like a
<v Speaker 2>creepy man that made them do like what seven minutes? Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I was like so exploitat of sorry I brokeed you guys.
<v Speaker 2>It's embarrassing, It's okay, it's.
<v Speaker 3>A normal body function.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. One time. I don't know if my wife will
<v Speaker 2>edit this out, but one time she pro One time
<v Speaker 2>she was drunk when we were like first dating, and
<v Speaker 2>she doesn't drink very often. I think she must have
<v Speaker 2>drank beer or something, because she like went to kiss
<v Speaker 2>me and she burped, and she was so embarrassed. She
<v Speaker 2>looked like she was gonna cry. Oh my love. It
<v Speaker 2>was like, you're like that, I don't care, but she
<v Speaker 2>was so embarrassed, and I feel like sometimes we still
<v Speaker 2>laugh about it, and this was like you're like remember
<v Speaker 2>that twenty twelve. Yeah. Also, one time, I'll tell this
<v Speaker 2>is an embarrassing story, so hopefully she'll leave hers in
<v Speaker 2>because mine's more embarrassing. When we were first dating, she
<v Speaker 2>wanted to show me that she could pick me up,
<v Speaker 2>and I was like, bitch, I don't think you can
<v Speaker 2>pick me up because I feel like at the time
<v Speaker 2>I probably weighed more than her or we laid the same.
<v Speaker 2>But she was like really into wait Thai and working
<v Speaker 2>out at the time, and she's like, oh, I could
<v Speaker 2>pick you up. And she picked me up, but she
<v Speaker 2>squeezed me to her and I farted. I was sossed.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, we do still laugh about that. Also, so
<v Speaker 2>it's okay if you do something embarrassing like that when
<v Speaker 2>you're first dating someone, you might end up married to them, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>But I wanted to share my hot shot. I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it was so obvious spoiler. You know by
<v Speaker 2>now that there's gonna be spoilers in the hot takes.
<v Speaker 2>It was obvious from the very beginning that that guy
<v Speaker 2>Austin loved Lauren, and the whole situation could have been
<v Speaker 2>avoided if she didn't try to keep a friendship with
<v Speaker 2>a straight man that she had.
<v Speaker 3>Sex with before.
<v Speaker 2>It's like, yeah, she really thought they could just be
<v Speaker 2>friends and it's like, no, he obviously loves you. Yeah, weird.
<v Speaker 2>And then I also had to put this in because
<v Speaker 2>this makes me mad. And they made a lot of
<v Speaker 2>weird fish jokes and trying to say that vagina smell
<v Speaker 2>like fish, and I've got to tell you that vagina's
<v Speaker 2>only smell like fish if you have an infection, If
<v Speaker 2>you have bacterial vaginosis, that is what makes it smell
<v Speaker 2>like fish. Also, I've heard that it can happen if
<v Speaker 2>you have sex with men and like their sperm like
<v Speaker 2>dries and then it smells like fish. But I'm just
<v Speaker 2>saying you could have bv without having sex with men too.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, you can get that use infections from anything.
<v Speaker 1>It's extremely common and it's nothing to be ashamed about it.
<v Speaker 2>No, it's nothing to be ashamed of. But it also
<v Speaker 2>is not what vaginas should smell or taste like if
<v Speaker 2>they are healthy and you have a healthy pH So
<v Speaker 2>I hate it when anyone makes jokes about fish, even
<v Speaker 2>like you know on drag Race, when they're like, ooh, girl,
<v Speaker 2>you're giving fish because like they look really like feminine
<v Speaker 2>and caurly, and I'm like, oh, because some gay man
<v Speaker 2>decided that's what vaginas smelled like. Maybe they had a
<v Speaker 2>bad experience and somebody had a fishy vagina anyway, point being,
<v Speaker 2>I hated those jokes. It made me mad. I remember
<v Speaker 2>when I first came out, my mom thought that this
<v Speaker 2>was a funny story to tell me about how she
<v Speaker 2>was hanging out with one of her church friends and
<v Speaker 2>they went to a restaurant and they had fish tacos
<v Speaker 2>and he was like, oh my god, I bet your
<v Speaker 2>daughter would love that. And she thought that was a
<v Speaker 2>funny story. And I was like, first of all, I'm nineteen,
<v Speaker 2>why is this old man thinking about like mine?
<v Speaker 1>And why are you laughing that's your daughter. I'd be like,
<v Speaker 1>don't make that joke.
<v Speaker 3>That's so rare. I just you know what we know,
<v Speaker 3>and we keep like reinforcing is that men are stupid.
<v Speaker 1>And then they're like the behind every single like yes,
<v Speaker 1>shaming women, And it was always it was the men
<v Speaker 1>obviously making those jokes. And I'm like, the audacity, And also,
<v Speaker 1>Lauren is stupid for allowing Austin to continue to say
<v Speaker 1>those things.
<v Speaker 2>I know, I'm sorry and maybe might. So that's that's
<v Speaker 2>my soapbox about BB.
<v Speaker 4>So.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, so now you know a lot about this movie
<v Speaker 2>if you haven't watched it. But we're gonna take a
<v Speaker 2>quick little break yet and when we get back, we'll
<v Speaker 2>get into the recap. So prepare yourself for a very
<v Speaker 2>interesting promiss. Welcome back to But I'm a Lesbian. This
<v Speaker 2>week we're discussing lesbomb.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, So the movie starts with two women. They're in
<v Speaker 1>the kitchen and they're talking about like their fan Emily's
<v Speaker 1>and past relationships. And one of the women is asking
<v Speaker 1>the other one like about how many times she's like
<v Speaker 1>received flowers, and the other ladies like, I usually I
<v Speaker 1>am the one to give flowers. I never receive flowers.
<v Speaker 1>And so we can get that they're in a relationship
<v Speaker 1>because they're talking about their past relationships. So their names
<v Speaker 1>are Lauren and Haley, and they're interrupted by her ugly
<v Speaker 1>roommate Austin, which you could already we already give a spoiler.
<v Speaker 2>He's not that ugly, but he's he keeps making jokes
<v Speaker 2>about vagina smelling like fish, which makes him ugly.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and he's also like inserting himself to every day.
<v Speaker 1>So they're interrupted by Austin and he's bringing home this
<v Speaker 1>I forgot her name, but he's bringing home this girl. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and then he they're like obviously like making out on
<v Speaker 1>the couch but he's just like, oh, hey, whatever. And
<v Speaker 1>then he answers Lauren's phone and it's her mom and
<v Speaker 1>he's just like, oh hey, like I forgot her last name,
<v Speaker 1>but he's just like hey, you know, like yeah, missus
<v Speaker 1>b whatever. And then Lauren is like, oh my God,
<v Speaker 1>give me my phone. And Hailey's obviously like annoyed because
<v Speaker 1>she's just like, oh hey, like you know. And so
<v Speaker 1>Rose is Lauren's mom. She's the owner of a hotel,
<v Speaker 1>and she sees something shady going on through a security camera.
<v Speaker 1>Oh I went all the way up through a security camera.
<v Speaker 1>Her brother is up to something shady with a woman
<v Speaker 1>in a white van. And so then back at home,
<v Speaker 1>she speaks with her husband about how much she misses
<v Speaker 1>their dad. So this is their first Thanksgiving without her dad,
<v Speaker 1>and she's just like, who's gonna cut the turkey? And
<v Speaker 1>she's just sad, you know. But they're just showing everybody's
<v Speaker 1>like little things up until the Thanksgiving dinner.
<v Speaker 3>And so.
<v Speaker 1>We seem a Rose seems to think that Hayley is
<v Speaker 1>just her friend and that Lauren has a boyfriend, because
<v Speaker 1>Lauren said, like, I have a mystery like person and
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to introduce them to you on Thanksgiving, and
<v Speaker 1>so obviously Rose her mom assumes that it's a man
<v Speaker 1>and she's like, I'm bringing Haley and then she's like,
<v Speaker 1>oh yeah, I see you in Haley all the time,
<v Speaker 1>like I see your Instagram posts. And where were they
<v Speaker 1>at they were at the it was like, oh, pack
<v Speaker 1>of it, like lesbian was like lesbians in law or something, yeah, something,
<v Speaker 1>and it's like she.
<v Speaker 2>Doesn't get it. It goes right over.
<v Speaker 1>They literally explained to her and they were like, oh yeah, feminists,
<v Speaker 1>Like you're a feminist now, they're like yeah. So so
<v Speaker 1>she plans on coming out to them at Thanksgiving dinner,
<v Speaker 1>which is very bold because she's like very nervous about
<v Speaker 1>how they're going to take it because she's you know,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if.
<v Speaker 2>She's thinking like maybe they'll act better because other family
<v Speaker 2>like grandma and Grandpa will be there. I don't know
<v Speaker 2>why she wants to do it at things.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe she figures off word all her family is there.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, she's like, I don't have to go to
<v Speaker 2>one and another.
<v Speaker 1>And I wanted to do that too, but then I
<v Speaker 1>was like that's not probably a good idea.
<v Speaker 3>I want to do it like individually. But then I
<v Speaker 3>was just like, speed around, get everyone over in the
<v Speaker 3>same day. Yeah, I was just like, but I get
<v Speaker 3>I mean, you know.
<v Speaker 1>So then Lauren arrives home and speaks with their parents
<v Speaker 1>and attempts to tell him about her mystery relationship. And
<v Speaker 1>it's one of those movies where like the character the
<v Speaker 1>main character is trying to tell their family whoever something,
<v Speaker 1>but it somehow gets lost in translation, like they either
<v Speaker 1>aren't listening and they're like too focused on other things.
<v Speaker 1>So I tend to hate movies like that. No, it's
<v Speaker 1>so easy to say, like I'm a lesbian. You can't
<v Speaker 1>confuse that.
<v Speaker 2>I know. It's like that classic like misunderstanding type of thing,
<v Speaker 2>like where it's like you could just be like you guys,
<v Speaker 2>shut up, like this is my girlfriend.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, literally, like I am a lesbian, this is I
<v Speaker 1>am in a relationship with this person.
<v Speaker 3>Like it's so easy to say that, but she didn't.
<v Speaker 1>So then Austin arrives to Thanksgiving dinner and Lauren's like,
<v Speaker 1>what the fuck are you doing here? I'm trying to
<v Speaker 1>come out And as soon as they see Austin Rose,
<v Speaker 1>her mom is like, oh my god, now that makes sense.
<v Speaker 1>Why you wouldn't say it in the beginning. Why he's here.
<v Speaker 1>Why he sent a smoke turkey to me, and he said,
<v Speaker 1>smoke turkey's everywhere, which see that is is he rich?
<v Speaker 2>Exactly turkeys.
<v Speaker 1>But they they think that they are in a relationship.
<v Speaker 1>And even though Lauren literally says no, I'm not in
<v Speaker 1>a relationship with Austin, and then later on Austin also
<v Speaker 1>says like, no, we're not together, they still somehow think
<v Speaker 1>that they are together because they're just like, oh my.
<v Speaker 3>God, you don't have to keep it a secret, It's okay.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, silly.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Rose is like overjoyed because she likes Austin and the dad,
<v Speaker 1>which his name is, his name is George.
<v Speaker 3>He is also like, what the fuck they live together?
<v Speaker 1>They've been living together for three years, so why like
<v Speaker 1>wouldn't they say about the relationship.
<v Speaker 3>So he's mad.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, he's like, he didn't my permission, I know, like,
<v Speaker 2>you know, what the fuck are you do? I'm sorry
<v Speaker 2>because you own the daughter and you want another man
<v Speaker 2>to own her now.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, he was fine when they were just friends,
<v Speaker 1>but now that they're in a relationship, he's like, so, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>he arrives and they believe they're together, and then meanwhile,
<v Speaker 1>Haley arrives at the station with flowers and little wine,
<v Speaker 1>and she's thinking that Lauren already came out.
<v Speaker 3>She's just like, I got this for.
<v Speaker 1>Your mom, and you know, Lauren tries to tell her, Hey,
<v Speaker 1>Austin's here and I did not come out, but Haley's like,
<v Speaker 1>I don't want to hear about Austin.
<v Speaker 3>Don't talk about Austin.
<v Speaker 1>If you talk about Austin, like, I'm gonna jump out
<v Speaker 1>of this car, like, don't do it. So Lauren's like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>I won't tell you. But then when they arrive, she
<v Speaker 1>sees Austin and she's like, what the fuck is he
<v Speaker 1>doing here? And she's like, well, that's what I was
<v Speaker 1>trying to tell you. Meanwhile, George and Austin go to
<v Speaker 1>the store, but George is Lauren's dad and he is
<v Speaker 1>like basically questioning Austin. He's just like what do you have?
<v Speaker 1>Like are you with my daughter? And Austin's like no.
<v Speaker 1>And then somehow it comes out that Austin and Lauren
<v Speaker 1>slept together, which.
<v Speaker 2>Why would you tell the dad that? I was like,
<v Speaker 2>I wanted you to say.
<v Speaker 1>We had sex once, but it meant nothing, and then
<v Speaker 1>George is like, what the fuck do you mean him
<v Speaker 1>meant nothing?
<v Speaker 2>You fucked my daughter and it meant nothing.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, He's like, you better be together if you had
<v Speaker 1>sex with her, and he's just like and he's just
<v Speaker 1>like trying to say no. But then the dad's like,
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna like basically kill you, like there's nobody here,
<v Speaker 1>so say the truth, like tell the truth.
<v Speaker 3>And Austin's like, okay, yes, yes, yes, I love your
<v Speaker 3>daughter very much.
<v Speaker 1>We are together and all this stuff, and George is like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god, why did you just say that.
<v Speaker 2>She made it worse by being like we had sex
<v Speaker 2>and yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, what is fucking wrong with you?
<v Speaker 1>So then now Austin has to keep up this whole
<v Speaker 1>thing that him and Lauren together because he's afraid of George.
<v Speaker 3>And I'm like okay.
<v Speaker 2>So then.
<v Speaker 1>Hailey is talking to Rose and George when they get
<v Speaker 1>home because Austin is like grabbing, he grabbed Lauren and
<v Speaker 1>was like, oh my god, your dad like found out
<v Speaker 1>that we had sex. And Lauren's like, what the fuck
<v Speaker 1>is wrong with you? Yeah, and he's just like we
<v Speaker 1>have to pretend we're in a relationship. And then Haley
<v Speaker 1>is talking to her parents and she thinks that charity
<v Speaker 1>came out, so she's just like, oh yeah, like this
<v Speaker 1>means so much, like thank you for having me here.
<v Speaker 1>And Rose mistakenly thinks that Hailey is jealous of Austin
<v Speaker 1>because Austin and Lauren are in a relationship, and she's like,
<v Speaker 1>don't worry when they get married, You'll still be her
<v Speaker 1>good friend. And Hailey's like, huh, what do you mean,
<v Speaker 1>And so then Lauren tries to explain again, like we're
<v Speaker 1>not together, but Austin's just like, no, yeah, like we're
<v Speaker 1>together because he's like, I don't want your dad to, like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, hurt me. So then Lauren tells Haley like,
<v Speaker 1>I'm so sorry.
<v Speaker 3>I will fix this.
<v Speaker 1>Let the right time, like, let the right time come
<v Speaker 1>and I will come out and we'll clear this whole
<v Speaker 1>thing up. But she also did not tell Haley that
<v Speaker 1>her and Austin slept together, so she's hiding that because
<v Speaker 1>you know.
<v Speaker 2>I think I would think it's weird if my girlfriend
<v Speaker 2>had had sex with her male roommate before and I
<v Speaker 2>could tell that he has a crush on her, still,
<v Speaker 2>I would be like, yes, it's And then then he
<v Speaker 2>shows up to Thanksgiving, but yeah, she doesn't know that.
<v Speaker 2>She doesn't know they had sex. She thinks they're just
<v Speaker 2>really good friends.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and so she's sort of like trying to be
<v Speaker 1>okay with her parents, thinking that like they're in a relationship,
<v Speaker 1>and she's clearly like jealous, you know, but I mean
<v Speaker 1>I would too because the boundaries between.
<v Speaker 3>Them are so weird and they're just very uncomfortable.
<v Speaker 1>So obviously Lauren is outside with Haley and explaining to
<v Speaker 1>her like, hey, you know, it's okay, like I will
<v Speaker 1>fix this, and her grandparents arrive and they see Haley. Well,
<v Speaker 1>the grandpa sees Haley and Lauren kissing and he's just
<v Speaker 1>like oh. And so then they go in and obviously
<v Speaker 1>it's like, you know, the whole family banter and everything.
<v Speaker 1>And then Rose tells George, do you think the reason
<v Speaker 1>why she's like so secretive is because she's pregnant? And
<v Speaker 1>you were just like, oh my god. So then they're
<v Speaker 1>just like okay, they're coming up with a plan to
<v Speaker 1>be like is she pregnant or not?
<v Speaker 3>So then they.
<v Speaker 1>Offer her wine and she's like, no, I'm okay, I
<v Speaker 1>don't want wine, and he's like, drink the wine and
<v Speaker 1>she's like, no, I don't want any wine.
<v Speaker 3>Do you want the wine? And so she doesn't know.
<v Speaker 1>But he's like the only smart person here because she's.
<v Speaker 2>Like she's a lawyer.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, She's like, they think you're pregnant. And then she's like, no,
<v Speaker 1>they don't. She's like, yes they do. That's why they
<v Speaker 1>want you to drink the wine. Like and she's like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god, I'll just clear this up. And so
<v Speaker 1>Lauren also pisses me off too, because it's so easy
<v Speaker 1>to just correct things, but she doesn't. Yeah, I said,
<v Speaker 1>her whole family's so annoying, and then I agree. So
<v Speaker 1>in the kitchen, Lauren again tries to come out to
<v Speaker 1>her family, but it's just like all women in the
<v Speaker 1>kitchen and they're just like reminiscing because her like aunt
<v Speaker 1>is there and her cousin, and her cousin's like very
<v Speaker 1>like fast for the teenager.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, she's like.
<v Speaker 1>She basically tells Lauren like, okay, so you and her,
<v Speaker 1>you and Austin are in a relationship, and she's like
<v Speaker 1>super into lacrosse players, and so she's just like, oh
<v Speaker 1>my god, like okay, I'm gonna basically try to like
<v Speaker 1>get with him and they're just like, what the fuck.
<v Speaker 2>I did think that that was such funny writing, though,
<v Speaker 2>because I feel like as a teenager you go through
<v Speaker 2>these weird phases. Like she was like, I'm in my
<v Speaker 2>lacrosse player phace. I just found out lacrosse players are hot,
<v Speaker 2>so now lacrosse players all the time.
<v Speaker 3>And her mom was like, why do you like lacrosse players?
<v Speaker 3>Like what is it? Just what is about them?
<v Speaker 2>And she's just like, yeah, I just love them. And
<v Speaker 2>so her mom is from the Parent Trap. She is
<v Speaker 2>the you know, the dad's young fiance that they hate
<v Speaker 2>in The Parent Trap. I can't remember what the actress's
<v Speaker 2>name is, but she's very beautiful and I wanted to
<v Speaker 2>point it out she.
<v Speaker 3>Still looks exactly the same.
<v Speaker 2>Why why she's a vegan? No, I can't remember her name,
<v Speaker 2>so I feel bad, but I think she's on Dancing
<v Speaker 2>with the Stars right now, and someone posted about it,
<v Speaker 2>and then I went to her pageos I was like,
<v Speaker 2>oh my god, that's the lady from Parent right. Wasn't
<v Speaker 2>her Nameredith something in the movie I can't remember, but
<v Speaker 2>I just remember that she was twenty six and I
<v Speaker 2>thought that was really old at the time, Yeah, because
<v Speaker 2>it came out when I was liked it. But anyway,
<v Speaker 2>her instagram is all about being began, So I like
<v Speaker 2>her and that's all. So it's important to It's just
<v Speaker 2>important to know that she's the aunt.
<v Speaker 1>Because she's beautiful, Yes, she is beautiful, and she's also
<v Speaker 1>like funny, she's funny.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, she's just she's just there.
<v Speaker 1>I think she's like my favorite out of everybody, honestly,
<v Speaker 1>of her family because her family's fucking stupid and they're
<v Speaker 1>including herself, including Lauren. Yeah, so it makes sense why
<v Speaker 1>her family is stupid because she step from So as
<v Speaker 1>Rose goes down to the basement, Lauren tells her that
<v Speaker 1>her uncle Mike is down there smoking weed and they
<v Speaker 1>get into like Rose and Mike, their brother and sister,
<v Speaker 1>they get into like a little thing and they like
<v Speaker 1>knock the bottle of alcohol over and he's smoking weed.
<v Speaker 1>So it's like foreshadowing that something's gonna happen.
<v Speaker 3>Oh my god.
<v Speaker 1>Right, And so then outside, Lauren's grandpa tells his wife
<v Speaker 1>that he saw Lauren kissing kissing Haley and the grandma's
<v Speaker 1>like what, and she's just like yeah, and the grandma's
<v Speaker 1>like I know what.
<v Speaker 3>She's trying to do and I'm gonna set this straight.
<v Speaker 1>So then they pull her aside and they tell her
<v Speaker 1>you don't bring the side dish with your.
<v Speaker 3>Main dish to Thanksgiving. I was like, And then Lauren
<v Speaker 3>was like, oh my god, you guys get it.
<v Speaker 1>And she's like, yeah, your little thing with Hailey and
<v Speaker 1>your little thing with Austin.
<v Speaker 3>Whatever. What does she say?
<v Speaker 1>She was saying something about that these like youngins want
<v Speaker 1>they want their gluten free cake and they want to
<v Speaker 1>eat it too, and so it made me laugh that like, yes,
<v Speaker 1>she got this. She was in a relationship with a woman,
<v Speaker 1>but she thinks that Austin is part of their relationship.
<v Speaker 2>Yah. She thinks it's like a yes.
<v Speaker 3>And so Lauren is like no, no, no, no no.
<v Speaker 1>And then Haley comes in and they're just like we're
<v Speaker 1>watching you, like you shouldn't have brought like your side
<v Speaker 1>dish with this.
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, oh my god. And so then.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so then Lauren tells John, her brother, that Haley
<v Speaker 1>is her girlfriend because he is trying to like hit
<v Speaker 1>on Haley like hardcore and he's a creepy's a weirdo.
<v Speaker 3>I don't like him.
<v Speaker 1>And John is just like okay, like he gets it,
<v Speaker 1>but then he's also like, but you made out with
<v Speaker 1>my friends in high school, so I'm still gonna like
<v Speaker 1>hit on Hailey.
<v Speaker 3>And she's like, no, what the fuck is wrong?
<v Speaker 2>Not just my friends?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and she's like that was one time, Like well,
<v Speaker 1>you're so immature, and also that was in high school.
<v Speaker 1>But he's still like, no, I like Haley and I'm
<v Speaker 1>gonna flirt with her and make her uncomfortable. So at
<v Speaker 1>the dinner table, Lauren finally chugs wine in order to
<v Speaker 1>prove that she isn't pregnant, just as the smoke alarm
<v Speaker 1>goes off, and I was just like, grab the turkey,
<v Speaker 1>grab everything, and they start running out of the house.
<v Speaker 3>And she's like the turkey.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>She's like, I've been in a relationship with a Haley
<v Speaker 1>for six months and like no one cares, and they
<v Speaker 1>obviously didn't hear her. So of course there was a
<v Speaker 1>fire happening in the basement because of the alcohol, and
<v Speaker 1>he left his joint in there, right because yeah, and
<v Speaker 1>that was her dad's living area, and so she was
<v Speaker 1>very upset because she was our the mom was already
<v Speaker 1>upset that her dad passed away, and so She's just
<v Speaker 1>like that was all his stuff, and they're like it's okay,
<v Speaker 1>we can still.
<v Speaker 3>Salvage this Thanksgiving.
<v Speaker 1>Let's go to the hotel because the moms owns a
<v Speaker 1>hotel and they're like, we'll just have the Thanksgiving there.
<v Speaker 1>So as they go over to the hotel and they're
<v Speaker 1>trying to set everything up, Haley.
<v Speaker 3>Is like, I don't want to go to the hotel.
<v Speaker 3>I just kind of want to go home.
<v Speaker 1>But then Rose comes over and like talks to her,
<v Speaker 1>and Haley's like, okay, like yeah, go to the hotel
<v Speaker 1>for Thanksgiving. And so then Haley confronts Austin and tells
<v Speaker 1>them like, you have liked Lauren since before this, and
<v Speaker 1>you've like hijacked this entire Thanksgiving and they have like
<v Speaker 1>a little thing, and Austin's just like, well, you guys
<v Speaker 1>have been dating for six months and I've known her
<v Speaker 1>for three years.
<v Speaker 3>And he's like that's supposed to be, like like he thinks.
<v Speaker 2>He's gonna win, Like she's a prize and he's gonna
<v Speaker 2>win her.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, He's like, I know her more, I've known her.
<v Speaker 3>You guys have only been you know.
<v Speaker 2>That's what I mean. She's gonna choose you right, and
<v Speaker 2>the choice in this matter exactly.
<v Speaker 1>He's just but I mean, Lauren is in the right
<v Speaker 1>here because Austin definitely obviously likes Lauren and is like
<v Speaker 1>trying to insert himself in this, which is why we
<v Speaker 1>just like him. So then George is bringing the turkey
<v Speaker 1>in and he drops it and so then he tries
<v Speaker 1>to wash it and it has like trash on there.
<v Speaker 2>I know, I'm like, and then he puts so funny.
<v Speaker 3>In yeah, I'm like, oh my god.
<v Speaker 1>And then after he does that, he puts like a
<v Speaker 1>shit ton of salt just all.
<v Speaker 3>Over it because he's just like because he washed off
<v Speaker 3>the season and then he's like, let me just put
<v Speaker 3>that on there.
<v Speaker 1>And so he doesn't tell his wife this because she
<v Speaker 1>would probably like be like what it.
<v Speaker 3>Would break down?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, typical man behavior. So then back in the hotel room,
<v Speaker 1>Lauren tries to talk it out with Haley and she
<v Speaker 1>tells her that she will tell her family at the dinner.
<v Speaker 1>And then Mike and his friend Emma, which is like,
<v Speaker 1>there's something shady about Mike. He sells weed and he's
<v Speaker 1>like in trouble and stuff. And there is a very
<v Speaker 1>masculine woman that everyone knows he's a lesbian, and he's like,
<v Speaker 1>that's my girlfriend, Emma.
<v Speaker 2>She's just here to celebrate, Okay.
<v Speaker 1>They're like okay, and so everyone's just like, okay, that's
<v Speaker 1>your girlfriend, but obviously they're there to do something shady.
<v Speaker 3>So that's his girlfriend, Emma, and she's just like, what
<v Speaker 3>the fuck is this?
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to pretend to be your girlfriend. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>She's like, we're here to do business. I'm not trying
<v Speaker 3>to pretend to be your girlfriend.
<v Speaker 1>And then it comes out that Emma's like we should
<v Speaker 1>have messed with the cartel and I'm like, what the fuck?
<v Speaker 1>And Mike is like, speaking to that, I want to
<v Speaker 1>be part of the cartel and she's like you really don't.
<v Speaker 3>But okay, because he's fucking dumb.
<v Speaker 1>And so Ken, which is Lauren's uncle that's George's brother,
<v Speaker 1>comes over and we find out earlier in the movie
<v Speaker 1>that he is in remission from cancer, but he's still
<v Speaker 1>like recovering, and he's just like, can I buy some
<v Speaker 1>weed from you guys?
<v Speaker 3>And so he buys weed and.
<v Speaker 1>He's out there smoking and oh my god, what's her
<v Speaker 1>name in this movie? The Blonde Maggie No Maggie's the cousin.
<v Speaker 2>But the no, Maggie is the mom of the cousin.
<v Speaker 3>What's the other girl's name?
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, Okay, well I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>She comes out and he starts, I'm like I didn't
<v Speaker 3>write her name. Yeah yeah, I'm like, it can't be Emma.
<v Speaker 3>There's too many Emma.
<v Speaker 2>I think it's Maggie because I put her on Munch
<v Speaker 2>French Murderer because I look Maggie. Okay, so the blonde
<v Speaker 2>girl I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>So Maggie comes out and she's just like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 1>you bought all this weed because they made him buy
<v Speaker 1>like a backpack full of weed, and she smokes with them.
<v Speaker 1>So then at dinner they Lauren is giving grace and
<v Speaker 1>she tries to tell her family that she is gay,
<v Speaker 1>but she fails yet again.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know how many times she's tried and.
<v Speaker 1>It's not and so it upsets Hayley, and Lauren's aunt
<v Speaker 1>pulls her to the side and tells her like, oh
<v Speaker 1>my god, I figured it out. You and Lauren are together,
<v Speaker 1>and she's just like yes, thank you, and she's just like, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>now we can bring everyone in here, and I can
<v Speaker 1>tell them like individually or something, but she's like, no,
<v Speaker 1>I have to tell my mom first because she would
<v Speaker 1>literally die if I didn't tell her and everyone else knew,
<v Speaker 1>and so Lauren attempts to tell her family and fails
<v Speaker 1>yet again.
<v Speaker 3>So Haley is like fuck it.
<v Speaker 1>She kisses John in front of everybody, and then Lauren
<v Speaker 1>is like, I'm gonna kill you John. So then she
<v Speaker 1>starts like chasing John and like they're just like fighting,
<v Speaker 1>and then meanwhile Austin is kissed by I want to say,
<v Speaker 1>Emma's kissing Austin. I wrote Emma Emma's Yeah. So the
<v Speaker 1>teenager corners him in the bathroom.
<v Speaker 2>She's like, did you do you play lacrosse?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>And he's in high school and she's like she corners
<v Speaker 1>him in the bathroom and she's like, oh, you know,
<v Speaker 1>you should lock the door or maybe you wanted me
<v Speaker 1>to come in here or something, and he's just like no, no, no,
<v Speaker 1>like no, you're way too young for me, all.
<v Speaker 3>Sort of stuff.
<v Speaker 1>But then she kisses him, and just as she kisses him,
<v Speaker 1>George opens the door and he's like.
<v Speaker 3>I'm gonna kill you.
<v Speaker 1>So then George is chasing Austin and Ken obviously chases
<v Speaker 1>him as well because that's his daughter. Meanwhile, Lauren is
<v Speaker 1>like fighting John, and Haley like pulls Lauren because she's like,
<v Speaker 1>what are you doing? And Lauren finally shouts out that
<v Speaker 1>we are in a relationship. She kisses her, She kisses Haley,
<v Speaker 1>and then she's just like, I'm in a relationship with Haley,
<v Speaker 1>and everyone's just like, oh, and Emma, the mask lesbian
<v Speaker 1>is like knew it.
<v Speaker 3>Oh wait, because there's so many emmas.
<v Speaker 2>Are we sure that the child is named Emma and
<v Speaker 2>the mask lesbian is named Emma?
<v Speaker 1>He says that her name is Emma, and I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>what the fuck? Okay, well, there's so many emmas. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>I just want to make it clear.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, it was the child cousin that is like a teenager, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>kissed him, not the mask, not the masks pretending to
<v Speaker 2>be Yes. There was a lot of chaos though, so
<v Speaker 2>as to the chaos.
<v Speaker 1>So then everyone's like, oh my god, okay, you're a
<v Speaker 1>lesbian and her family now understands.
<v Speaker 3>But her dad asked her.
<v Speaker 1>He tells her like, why did Austin say that you
<v Speaker 1>guys slept together? And Hailey is like, you slept with
<v Speaker 1>Austin and she's just like She's like so then everyone
<v Speaker 1>is just like what the fuck and Rosie's coworker interrupts
<v Speaker 1>and says that there are men loading like a shit
<v Speaker 1>ton of weed outside, and so everyone goes out there
<v Speaker 1>and Rose just like what the fuck is going on?
<v Speaker 1>And they say we're from the cartel and they like
<v Speaker 1>scare them off finally, and so Hayley is like packing
<v Speaker 1>up to leave in the hotel room and she doesn't
<v Speaker 1>want to talk to Lauren, and Lauren is just like
<v Speaker 1>trying to get her to talk.
<v Speaker 3>To her, but she doesn't.
<v Speaker 1>So then she goes to Austin's room and she's just
<v Speaker 1>like freaking out. She's just like I don't know how
<v Speaker 1>to fix this, Like I don't know what's like, I
<v Speaker 1>don't know how to fix this. She doesn't want to
<v Speaker 1>talk to me, and Austin hugs her and he's like,
<v Speaker 1>why didn't you come out before Thanksgiving dinner? Like before
<v Speaker 1>all this, Like, h well, it clearly wasn't like that
<v Speaker 1>important to you. It's for you to come out, and
<v Speaker 1>then he tells her that it wasn't so bad being
<v Speaker 1>in a relationship for the day, and then he tries.
<v Speaker 3>To kiss her, and they do kiss I hate it.
<v Speaker 1>I hate him because he's just like it wasn't so bad,
<v Speaker 1>Like it wasn't so bad be in a relationship with you.
<v Speaker 1>I know you're really upset about your girlfriend, but like,
<v Speaker 1>I'm in love with you.
<v Speaker 2>It's homophobic because it's like he doesn't count her relationship
<v Speaker 2>with a woman as a real relationship. Does He doesn't say,
<v Speaker 2>there's just an experiment and like you're gonna want to
<v Speaker 2>be with men, and I'm gonna be that man exactly.
<v Speaker 1>So then just as they're kissing, because Austin kissed Lauren,
<v Speaker 1>Haley opens the door and she's just like oh okay.
<v Speaker 3>So then Lauren and Haley.
<v Speaker 1>Go out there and they have an argument and Lauren's
<v Speaker 1>just like what the fuck, Like, no, he kissed me.
<v Speaker 3>Haley's like yeah, sure.
<v Speaker 1>They have an argument and then Lauren's like, okay, I
<v Speaker 1>don't want to be gay, like no one wants this,
<v Speaker 1>like I never wanted to be gay, and Haley's like, well,
<v Speaker 1>thank you for being honest with me, and she leaves.
<v Speaker 3>And so then Lauren.
<v Speaker 1>Yells at her parents and she's like, this is your
<v Speaker 1>fault that they left, that Haley left and all this
<v Speaker 1>other stuff, and Rosa's just like, oh my god, am
<v Speaker 1>I terrible mom? And George's like, no, we're not great,
<v Speaker 1>We're not bad, We're fair.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, just regular. So then I put like, she doesn't
<v Speaker 3>want to be gay, okay?
<v Speaker 2>And then no, you wanted to be with the man.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm like, girl, what the fuck?
<v Speaker 1>So then the next morning, Rose talks to Lauren and
<v Speaker 1>tries to comfort her, and she asks her questions, but
<v Speaker 1>then also her aunt asked her to She's just like, so, like,
<v Speaker 1>could I scissor or something? Do you have to do
<v Speaker 1>the splits to scissor? I've always wondered.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, And I'm like, oh my god.
<v Speaker 1>And then her mom starts asking her questions and then
<v Speaker 1>Lauren is like really upset because she's like, Haley hates me.
<v Speaker 1>And Rose is just like, no, it's okay. She doesn't
<v Speaker 1>hate you.
<v Speaker 3>She's just upset.
<v Speaker 1>Like we like her by the way, she's just upset,
<v Speaker 1>and we're totally okay with this, Like, you know, we
<v Speaker 1>don't know why you.
<v Speaker 3>Would think that we wouldn't be okay, but I mean,
<v Speaker 3>you know. And so.
<v Speaker 1>Back at their place because now this is after Thanksgiving,
<v Speaker 1>Austin's already there Lauren is like, hey, you left without
<v Speaker 1>like saying anything, and he's like, yeah, I thought i'd
<v Speaker 1>give you like some time, And basically he apologizes because
<v Speaker 1>he says, I didn't know that your relationship was that serious.
<v Speaker 2>It's so sticky.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, And he literally also did say you go through
<v Speaker 1>so many phases that he did think that her being
<v Speaker 1>gay was a phase.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, didn't he say, like remember when you did
<v Speaker 2>this class or something like that, like compared to that
<v Speaker 2>she's not an exercise class.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, And so then Laura's just like, no, it's okay,
<v Speaker 1>and he's like, I'm sorry about kissing you too, and
<v Speaker 1>she's she let him off the hook really easy, like
<v Speaker 1>really easy. She's just like no, it's okay, I understand,
<v Speaker 1>but I'm gonna move out. And they're like okay, cool.
<v Speaker 1>So then she's like moving out and she's trying to
<v Speaker 1>call Haley. Haley's not answering. She's going on a jog,
<v Speaker 1>and then she's like, I know what I'm gonna do.
<v Speaker 1>She goes to buy her flowers and she interrupts Hailey's
<v Speaker 1>yoga class while Haley's like upside down on her head and.
<v Speaker 2>Other people in the class and she's just like hey.
<v Speaker 1>She's like, Haley, I'm so sorry, like I love you,
<v Speaker 1>because they also said I love you during the argument,
<v Speaker 1>but she's like I love you and I want to
<v Speaker 1>be with you and I am so sorry and like
<v Speaker 1>please tell me that you'll like take me back, and
<v Speaker 1>Haley's just like okay, yes, and then she's like, well,
<v Speaker 1>you also move in with me.
<v Speaker 2>And he's like, oh my god, yes, I've been waiting
<v Speaker 2>to ask.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And so then they make up and as they're like going,
<v Speaker 1>Haley's like as they're walking, Haley's like, when are you
<v Speaker 1>going to tell your family that we're moving in together?
<v Speaker 1>And Lauren jokingly is like maybe this Christmas. And then
<v Speaker 1>they kiss and then the movie ends.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah that was a wild ride.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, it does have a happy ending, which I
<v Speaker 1>love happy endings movies. But to me, I'm just like,
<v Speaker 1>this movie was so fucking dumb.
<v Speaker 2>It was dumb. I do want to say two things.
<v Speaker 2>First thing is that the another basic white name Jessica
<v Speaker 2>actually Lauren sa Emma. But also I did think that
<v Speaker 2>it was sweet that even at the end, she got
<v Speaker 2>her flowers because they talked about it in the beginning,
<v Speaker 2>like Hayley saying she's usually the one that gets people flowers.
<v Speaker 1>She doesn't receive. Yeah, and then Morn's like, well we're
<v Speaker 1>going to have to change that. Yeah, and so you know,
<v Speaker 1>she finally did it.
<v Speaker 2>It's sweet that she did that, but yeah, not that
<v Speaker 2>big of a fan overall.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it was that. I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I just felt like it was such a like basic apology,
<v Speaker 1>like I'm so sorry, yeah, I want to be gay.
<v Speaker 3>I'd be like, what the fuck.
<v Speaker 2>It also something that influenced my outfit today. I'm really
<v Speaker 2>confused about the time here because it came out in
<v Speaker 2>twenty eighteen, but the way that they were dressed and
<v Speaker 2>also the I don't know, it being such a generic
<v Speaker 2>like oh my god, it's a Lesbie. I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>It was giving very early twenty tens to me, And
<v Speaker 2>so I wonder if she wrote this and maybe like
<v Speaker 2>started working on it like a lot of years before
<v Speaker 2>it actually came out, because I don't know, I don't
<v Speaker 2>know it was weird to me or what if that's
<v Speaker 2>just the worst style. I do think about that as
<v Speaker 2>I get older, because when I was getting ready this morning,
<v Speaker 2>I was like, I'm a listen to Christina Aguilera, and
<v Speaker 2>I was like, oh my god, I'm turning it into
<v Speaker 2>my mom because my mom would always listen to eighties
<v Speaker 2>music even though it was the two thousands, and now
<v Speaker 2>I'm listening to two thousands music even though it's the
<v Speaker 2>twenty twenties. But anyway, we are going to do munch
<v Speaker 2>merch murder, and the options are Lauren, Hailey, and Maggie,
<v Speaker 2>who is the aunt who was the actress from Parent Trap.
<v Speaker 2>So I'll answer this first because I do feel like
<v Speaker 2>for a lot of episodes, I was like making you
<v Speaker 2>go first, so I'll try to like catch up. I
<v Speaker 2>would okay, I would murder Lauren, yes, which I feel
<v Speaker 2>bad because she's annoying. I do think like she's pretty.
<v Speaker 2>She kind of looks like the girl that Paige Michael
<v Speaker 2>Chuck dated into Grassy the next.
<v Speaker 3>Year is pretty. She's just annoying.
<v Speaker 2>But she's just annoying. I would merge with Haley because
<v Speaker 2>she's actually gay and I I like her cute, like
<v Speaker 2>crooked teeth. My wife was being a hater when we
<v Speaker 2>were watching So Pretty. Hailey is so pretty now now
<v Speaker 2>that my wife got her braces and has perfect teeth.
<v Speaker 2>She loves to be a hater about people. She's like,
<v Speaker 2>look at her little snaggle teeth, and I'm like, there
<v Speaker 2>looks they look cute at her. I was like, she
<v Speaker 2>looks so cute with it anyway. And I would munch
<v Speaker 2>Maggie because she's beautiful and she's interested. She wants to
<v Speaker 2>learn how to scissor maybe I could show her.
<v Speaker 3>You have to show her.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, a struggle. We'll talk about this and more on
<v Speaker 2>another episode, but there can be struggles. So who would
<v Speaker 2>you munch, merch, murder.
<v Speaker 3>My answers are the same as yours.
<v Speaker 1>I would kill Lauren, I would merge with Haley, and
<v Speaker 1>I would munch Maggie.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>You would also show her how things are done. She's
<v Speaker 2>so curious, so.
<v Speaker 3>I know, right.
<v Speaker 1>And she also just seems like a vibe like she's like,
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna get high and I'm gonna eat my spinach
<v Speaker 1>and artichoke damp and she's just like, you know, yeah.
<v Speaker 3>She's also very beautiful.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah yeah, so okay, so I probably know. But what
<v Speaker 2>would you rate this movie on a scale of one
<v Speaker 2>to five cherries?
<v Speaker 1>I would rate this movie a one out of five cherries?
<v Speaker 3>What about you?
<v Speaker 2>I gave it too I was trying to be nice,
<v Speaker 2>you know why, because you need to be nice. I know,
<v Speaker 2>I know, but I do feel like this. The actress
<v Speaker 2>that plays Lauren, I think is also the writer and
<v Speaker 2>direct her, and I think she really put her heart
<v Speaker 2>and soul into it, and I feel bad giving her one.
<v Speaker 2>She tried, and.
<v Speaker 3>Well, now you're making me feel bad.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, sorry, I just I felt a little bad.
<v Speaker 2>But I don't like it. I don't like it at all.
<v Speaker 2>But I gave it a two because I'm not allowed
<v Speaker 2>to do it one point five anymore, so I round it.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, you know what now, No, I'm still sticking with
<v Speaker 1>your Yeah, don't don't.
<v Speaker 3>Sorry, Lauren, I just didn't like it.
<v Speaker 2>No, it's okay. Maybe she'll make another movie someday and
<v Speaker 2>it'll be better. She's like, just for you because So

<v Speaker 2>Yes, okay, huge fans over here, So hi Marita, thank
<v Speaker 2>you so much for guesting on our podcast.
<v Speaker 4>Hi you guys, thank you so much for having me.
<v Speaker 4>I'm so happy to be here.
<v Speaker 2>Yay, Okay, so we are super excited. I will tell
<v Speaker 2>you that on the show, I mean, everyone has favorites,
<v Speaker 2>but you were one of my favorites because I like,
<v Speaker 2>I liked your feminists and your makeup and it made me.
<v Speaker 2>It made me think of me because I love to
<v Speaker 2>do makeup. So I was like, oh, I love her.
<v Speaker 4>I love that. That's amazing.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, okay, so we have some questions for you. So
<v Speaker 2>let's see, are you ready for.
<v Speaker 4>Them, super ready as was born ready.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, okay, so okay, So starting off with a pretty
<v Speaker 2>serious one, when did you realize that you were queer?
<v Speaker 2>And what was your coming out story?
<v Speaker 5>Like, okay, so it's actually so funny. I watched Blue
<v Speaker 5>Crush last night and I just had this like moment
<v Speaker 5>of like, oh yeah, because I used to like love
<v Speaker 5>that movie and the.
<v Speaker 4>Blonde obviously the main character. And then there was the
<v Speaker 4>tension with that Lena girl who was like upset about
<v Speaker 4>the surf competition. But I don't think it was just
<v Speaker 4>a serf competition.
<v Speaker 5>There's something more back to like childhood, I guess. I
<v Speaker 5>actually got a call from my babysitter back in August.
<v Speaker 5>It was around my sister's birthday, and she basically said
<v Speaker 5>that I asked her to marry me when I was
<v Speaker 5>three years old. I yeah, it's pretty wild, like my
<v Speaker 5>queer identity and like everything that like I always knew,
<v Speaker 5>Like I just always knew, and that's why I stand
<v Speaker 5>true and the fact that like you can't teach queerness,
<v Speaker 5>and like people that are trying to take away like
<v Speaker 5>the books and like the education and everything in our schools.
<v Speaker 4>It's like it's not gonna work.
<v Speaker 5>Like you're were born this way, like literally, Lady Goga, We're.
<v Speaker 4>Born literally, And yeah, so I knew at a very
<v Speaker 4>very young age.
<v Speaker 5>And then I started realizing or trying to fit within
<v Speaker 5>societal norms and like I just like did not ever
<v Speaker 5>have a boyfriend, but I tried to like engage.
<v Speaker 4>In heteronormal activity.
<v Speaker 1>It was.
<v Speaker 4>My thing. I never had an emotional connection with the guy.
<v Speaker 5>And then yeah, I realized like, yeah, okay, let's stop
<v Speaker 5>trying to be something else and let's just fully embrace
<v Speaker 5>exactly who I am.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I love that you mentioned Blue Crush because I
<v Speaker 2>forgot about that movie. And then my niece was over
<v Speaker 2>and I don't know, it was on Disney Plus, which
<v Speaker 2>I need to understand that Disney Plus has things that
<v Speaker 2>are not necessarily kid movies, and so I was like,
<v Speaker 2>oh my god, let's watch this. It's from when I
<v Speaker 2>was a kid, and like it has these girls and
<v Speaker 2>they're they're in Hawaii and they do the surf competition
<v Speaker 2>and she's ten, but anyway, she was like okay, and
<v Speaker 2>she was not that into it. She didn't really care.
<v Speaker 2>And then also there was like that whole scene where
<v Speaker 2>they're cleaning and there was like a condom and then
<v Speaker 2>it was like gross because they cleaned the hotel and
<v Speaker 2>she was like so confused. She was going and then
<v Speaker 2>I told my wife and she's like, why are you
<v Speaker 2>having to watch that? Remember they talk about condoms. This
<v Speaker 2>is too adult for her.
<v Speaker 5>You're like, I forgot that even happened is just about
<v Speaker 5>the surfing in the gayess Okay, So.
<v Speaker 2>That reminds me when I was a kid, I really
<v Speaker 2>loved Pretty Woman because because my babysitters loved it and
<v Speaker 2>they were like teenagers, so I was like, oh, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's cool. And I remember there's a part and Pretty Woman.
<v Speaker 2>Have you seen Pretty Woman Marita? Okay? But I want
<v Speaker 2>you to be like, I've actually never seen it. Okay.
<v Speaker 2>There's this part where she Julia Roberts, has like all
<v Speaker 2>these condoms and she's like I'm a safety girl and
<v Speaker 2>I thought they were band aids. And I remember saying
<v Speaker 2>to my mom like, that's like a lofty girl. I
<v Speaker 2>was like, that's so cool she carries all those band aids.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, my god, so silly. But we're was like,
<v Speaker 2>did you have any issues with your family when you
<v Speaker 2>like came out or were they just kind of like
<v Speaker 2>we knew this.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, yeah, I had an interesting coming out, and like
<v Speaker 7>I like I tried not to talk about it too
<v Speaker 7>much because like it's in the past and obviously like.
<v Speaker 4>We've moved on and we've grown through that experience, but
<v Speaker 4>I also like to talk about how the fact, like
<v Speaker 4>our parents and their generation, they.
<v Speaker 5>Like they didn't grow up in the culture that we
<v Speaker 5>are growing up in, so it's kind of like they
<v Speaker 5>they have to go through a learning curve as well
<v Speaker 5>to like try to accept us, which which is like
<v Speaker 5>it's good and it's bad. So essentially, like what happened
<v Speaker 5>with my coming out was I told one parent and
<v Speaker 5>then they told me not to tell the other parent,
<v Speaker 5>and they were together at the time, so I was
<v Speaker 5>like really confused and sad and like I wanted to
<v Speaker 5>tell both of my parents at the same time, but
<v Speaker 5>my girlfriend at the time was like, you need to
<v Speaker 5>call them right now, and like they weren't together, so
<v Speaker 5>I called one before the other, and it was just
<v Speaker 5>this like weird energy of like trying to hide myself
<v Speaker 5>from both of my parents because that one parent I
<v Speaker 5>told wasn't like you can be yourself, you can tell everyone.
<v Speaker 5>They were like you need to hide from this. So
<v Speaker 5>and then my girlfriend at the time came to visit
<v Speaker 5>a year later and was awful to both of my parents,
<v Speaker 5>and then the parent that knew. Once we left to
<v Speaker 5>go back to school, the parent that knew told the
<v Speaker 5>other parents came out for me.
<v Speaker 3>Oh jeez, oh my god.
<v Speaker 5>I got a call from that parent and they were
<v Speaker 5>like really really sad that I didn't trust them or
<v Speaker 5>tell them, and it was like heartbreaking.
<v Speaker 4>So my coming out was like it was a lot.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, but I think everybody has their own story. I
<v Speaker 5>like now that I think about it, like it was,
<v Speaker 5>it was a hard time, and like I I think
<v Speaker 5>that I could have given that parent more grace, but
<v Speaker 5>at the same time, it was kind of like a
<v Speaker 5>betrayal situation. So we've worked through it. Communication is key,
<v Speaker 5>and it's not always going to be easy. If it
<v Speaker 5>is hell yeah, yeah, that's nice.
<v Speaker 3>That's that's ideal.
<v Speaker 4>It's not always it's not always easy.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Well, that's so cool that you've worked through it now
<v Speaker 2>and everything. That's hard when someone decides to come out
<v Speaker 2>for you, I know.
<v Speaker 3>Struggle, Oh my gosh.
<v Speaker 1>But I'm glad that you guys are in a way
<v Speaker 1>better place, and like you said that in the past,
<v Speaker 1>and you guys have you know, reflected on that and
<v Speaker 1>it's good.
<v Speaker 4>No, so yay, I love full of support on both sides.
<v Speaker 1>Now, yay.
<v Speaker 3>Love that.
<v Speaker 4>Yes.
<v Speaker 1>So how did you end up getting cast on the
<v Speaker 1>ultimatum queer love?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>So the person that I went into the experience with
<v Speaker 5>knew somebody in Nashville and we were together for five years.
<v Speaker 5>We started our relationship in Nashville, and essentially, like this
<v Speaker 5>person was like reached out to by a casting.
<v Speaker 4>Agent and they ended up not being in a relationship
<v Speaker 4>any anymore.
<v Speaker 5>So they they basically referred me and the person that
<v Speaker 5>I was with at the time, and then we went
<v Speaker 5>on like went through the process with the producers and
<v Speaker 5>they unpacked a lot about our relationship and they kind
<v Speaker 5>of noticed different patterns that like really went along with
<v Speaker 5>the experience and like what we could have gotten out
<v Speaker 5>of it.
<v Speaker 4>So that's how it all happened.
<v Speaker 5>And I like fully was embracing the experience when I
<v Speaker 5>got there.
<v Speaker 4>I wanted to get engaged. I wanted to like go.
<v Speaker 5>There for like a stronger foundation and to build off
<v Speaker 5>of what I already had with this person that I
<v Speaker 5>was with for five years.
<v Speaker 4>So it was not what I expected, but I wouldn't
<v Speaker 4>change it for the world.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I mean five years is a long time. Also,
<v Speaker 2>you're really young, right, Like how old are you?
<v Speaker 4>I was twenty five when I went on the show,
<v Speaker 4>and I'm twenty seven now.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, Yeah, so that's a really long time, especially when
<v Speaker 2>you're that young.
<v Speaker 3>And in lesbian years, it's really long.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I know when I was like twenty two.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I know, I know. So okay. Speaking of
<v Speaker 2>the show, did you feel like like it represented queer
<v Speaker 2>people authentically?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I feel like there that's that's a good question.
<v Speaker 5>I actually haven't received that question like at all, and
<v Speaker 5>I do podcast all the time.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I feel like it was.
<v Speaker 5>I feel like the concept can definitely be a little messy,
<v Speaker 5>and I think that that's true for both the queer
<v Speaker 5>version and the straight version. Obviously lesbians have a lot
<v Speaker 5>of like hormones and emotions and thirstiness, I guess. But yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I feel like there were a good amount of stories
<v Speaker 5>from different couples and different people that were in the experience.
<v Speaker 4>Brittany and a obviously were my favorite.
<v Speaker 5>Like I sat across the table from them because, like
<v Speaker 5>I was placed there, but like when they were telling
<v Speaker 5>their story, it was like, I know that this couple
<v Speaker 5>is going to get married. I know that they're going
<v Speaker 5>to make it through this. I was like, this is
<v Speaker 5>a beautiful story to watch. And then like Haley and Pollard,
<v Speaker 5>their story was like incredible to the amount of time
<v Speaker 5>they'd been together and like the struggles that they like
<v Speaker 5>wanted to overcome together, Like it's all about like togetherness,
<v Speaker 5>you know, like going on to an experience with your
<v Speaker 5>person at that time, it should be that you want
<v Speaker 5>to build together. And like that is how I was
<v Speaker 5>taking the experience. So yeah, it's just I think that
<v Speaker 5>there was a lot of really good queer representation, but
<v Speaker 5>there's also a little bit of messiness, and there could
<v Speaker 5>have been more cultural diversity.
<v Speaker 2>I would say, yeah, yeah, we agree with that. Yeah yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I mean any time it's a show of I think
<v Speaker 2>they want the producers probably want a little messiness, right
<v Speaker 2>because they want to draw people in. So it's it's understandable.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, I I feel like I really liked this
<v Speaker 2>second season. I like the first one too, but I
<v Speaker 2>really like the second one. I wish there were gonna
<v Speaker 2>be more seasons, but I know.
<v Speaker 1>So, so who from the cast are you still close with?
<v Speaker 4>Who from the cast am I close with?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I'm really close with Brittany and aj and Haley
<v Speaker 5>and Polar.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, we love them.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, yes, I know. I saw there was a relatively
<v Speaker 2>recent video that was going around of Haley and Polar. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>they were like.
<v Speaker 1>Daddy when they were taking photos.
<v Speaker 3>I was like, wow, I know, and.
<v Speaker 4>That's like amazing they So I saw them.
<v Speaker 6>Four days before their wedding because we were doing an
<v Speaker 6>event in Honolulu together, and like it was incredible to
<v Speaker 6>like be with them that close to like when they
<v Speaker 6>were going to a lope and they didn't even plan that.
<v Speaker 4>So it's pretty wild that that just ended up being
<v Speaker 4>on ABC.
<v Speaker 5>Area because I'm from the Bay Area and I was like,
<v Speaker 5>wait a minute.
<v Speaker 4>Hey, like par.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, okay, that's cool. I didn't know that you're from
<v Speaker 2>the Bay Area. I was actually gonna ask that because
<v Speaker 2>you said that you were living in Nashville, So you're
<v Speaker 2>from California, but you were living in Nashville at that point.
<v Speaker 5>Yes, I'm from Moren So I was one of those girls.
<v Speaker 2>My my dad is he owns a shop in Moren
<v Speaker 2>like a car shop. He's been in MORENN forever and
<v Speaker 2>then I grew up in Petaluma partly, so yeah above
<v Speaker 2>marine geographically, Yeah, it smells like Cow's there.
<v Speaker 5>Marinn is a lot nicer, but the downtown is so cute.
<v Speaker 2>It is cute.
<v Speaker 4>I know.
<v Speaker 2>I spent so much of my teenage years at the
<v Speaker 2>Phoenix Theater in downtown Pedaloma. Was like what it was
<v Speaker 2>all about. Okay, So okay, how has your life changed
<v Speaker 2>since being on the show.
<v Speaker 5>Oh boy, I feel like my life has just drastically changed.
<v Speaker 5>And like I've been on I'm very like spiritual, like
<v Speaker 5>not too much. I'm not like a witch or like
<v Speaker 5>a woo woo or anything.
<v Speaker 1>Okayven if you were, yeah, like no hate the people
<v Speaker 1>that are.
<v Speaker 4>Maybe I'm like a secret one, but I don't know. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I'm just like very spiritual.
<v Speaker 5>And I feel like everything that happened happened for a reason.
<v Speaker 4>As hard as it was to.
<v Speaker 5>Go through what I went through, it was like kind
<v Speaker 5>of like a life lesson and like the universe like
<v Speaker 5>basically redirecting my life in a way.
<v Speaker 4>So I've been really really happy.
<v Speaker 5>I feel like I've been attracting really good energy into
<v Speaker 5>my life.
<v Speaker 4>I've been making connections with amazing.
<v Speaker 5>Queer women and like traveling, which is something I've always
<v Speaker 5>wanted to do.
<v Speaker 4>I often moved across the country. So now I'm back
<v Speaker 4>in California.
<v Speaker 5>I'm in Los Angeles, and I'm creative, I'm singing, I'm
<v Speaker 5>like doing all these amazing things.
<v Speaker 4>I'm meeting a lot of lesbians here.
<v Speaker 5>Like it's just been it's been so fun. So yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I've been doing really well.
<v Speaker 2>So cool.
<v Speaker 3>That is great to hear.
<v Speaker 1>And also it's always a bonus when you get to
<v Speaker 1>meet more lesbians, Like you can never have too many
<v Speaker 1>lesbians in your life for real.
<v Speaker 2>Like I remember, I'm a little older, but well you
<v Speaker 2>watched well, okay, I the Ward, but also the Real
<v Speaker 2>L Word. Did you watch the Real L Word when
<v Speaker 2>it was out or ever?
<v Speaker 4>I okay, I've seen the L Word obviously the Real
<v Speaker 4>L Word? Is that like a I think? Is that
<v Speaker 4>like a reality? Yeah?
<v Speaker 5>Yeh.
<v Speaker 2>It was in LA and it was like all these
<v Speaker 2>hot lesbians and I was like, oh my god, I
<v Speaker 2>can't that be my life, because I was like it
<v Speaker 2>came out in like twenty ten to twenty like thirteen,
<v Speaker 2>so I was like twenty one, You're.
<v Speaker 3>Like I need your girl.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, why isn't this my life? I live
<v Speaker 2>in this tiny town and the only lesbian I know
<v Speaker 2>is my girlfriend And then also.
<v Speaker 1>The L Word for you two, you're also like I
<v Speaker 1>want to have that.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah. I also definitely thought when I was watching
<v Speaker 2>The L Word when I was like seventeen, that like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>when I'm eighteen, I'm gonna like move to LA and
<v Speaker 2>have like a group of lesbian friends.
<v Speaker 3>Automatic you know, that.
<v Speaker 2>Didn't happen for me, but anyway, it's really cool. It's
<v Speaker 2>so cool to meet other queer women. Like that's like
<v Speaker 2>a big part of I always wanted to have a
<v Speaker 2>podcast because I love to talk, right. But then I
<v Speaker 2>met Angelina and I I never had like a close
<v Speaker 2>friend who was also a lesbian. I all, yeah, neither
<v Speaker 2>had us.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I always only had like my girlfriend, yes, yeah, and
<v Speaker 2>then all my friends were straight, and it's like or
<v Speaker 2>maybe sometimes by but it's hard. It's so hard because
<v Speaker 2>I felt a lot of times like I can be
<v Speaker 2>friends with these people and I love them, but they
<v Speaker 2>don't understand certain things, like I can't I can't talk
<v Speaker 2>to them about gay stuff. They're not going to get it.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>So when we met, I was like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>this is so cool. We can talk about all the
<v Speaker 2>gay things.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>She like also loves all of the older lesbian movies,
<v Speaker 2>so I was like, we need to make a podcast.
<v Speaker 2>We could talk about all of the lesbian movies and
<v Speaker 2>all the lesbian things, all literally all lesbian.
<v Speaker 4>I'm so shocked. That's crazy.
<v Speaker 5>I feel like I have only had lesbian friends since
<v Speaker 5>the year of twenty.
<v Speaker 4>Nineteen. Well, I mean, I have a couple straight fresh
<v Speaker 4>you're all just I could name them.
<v Speaker 5>On like one hand, yeah, but the rest they're all queer.
<v Speaker 5>And I like, first of all, if you have ever
<v Speaker 5>been to Saint Pete, everybody's a lesbian. I'm talking like
<v Speaker 5>your like your bartenders, your vets, your dentists, your like
<v Speaker 5>coffee burisas.
<v Speaker 4>Everybody's a freaking lesbian.
<v Speaker 3>I love the Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Literally, it's it's kind of yeah, it's kind of like
<v Speaker 5>this crazy little lesbian town. And I had a straight
<v Speaker 5>couple visit me in Saint Pete once and they were like,
<v Speaker 5>we were.
<v Speaker 4>Like, where are there straight people?
<v Speaker 3>You're like, no, everyone's gay.
<v Speaker 2>No, I think, yeah, it's just it's just weird, like
<v Speaker 2>you know.
<v Speaker 3>We're very area.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it is a pretty small like town, yeah that
<v Speaker 2>we live in. And then I don't know. It does
<v Speaker 2>suck though, And I've started since we started the podcast,
<v Speaker 2>we've been needing more.
<v Speaker 3>People, more or lesbians, queer women.
<v Speaker 2>Anytime I see lesbians or like, oh, I think there
<v Speaker 2>are a couple. Instead of just going like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>lesbians to my wife, I'm giving them a sticker for
<v Speaker 2>the podcast. I'm trying to make lesbian friends. Because I went, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>like you might be gay, do you want this? It
<v Speaker 2>did backfire. One time at Pride, this woman.
<v Speaker 1>Was like she had lesbian colored hair, and Kaylin and
<v Speaker 1>I were like, oh my god, we should go up
<v Speaker 1>to her. We went up to her and Kaitlyn gave
<v Speaker 1>her the sticker and was like complimenting her, and the
<v Speaker 1>lady was like, oh okay, like it was so weird,
<v Speaker 1>and we.
<v Speaker 2>Were like than her husband came up and they were
<v Speaker 2>like giggling like a man and they were giggling. I
<v Speaker 2>was like, oh, I'm sorry, why are you up Pride
<v Speaker 2>with lesbian flag colors in your hair and you don't
<v Speaker 2>expect a lesbian to talk to you. I'm like, she
<v Speaker 2>probably thought I was trying to hit on her, and
<v Speaker 2>we were like, no, here's our podcast. I was just
<v Speaker 2>trying to get you to follow my podcast.
<v Speaker 4>Oh my god, that's wild.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, but that was the only way. Yeah, that was
<v Speaker 1>the only bad one.
<v Speaker 2>But yes, okay, So we were gonna ask this, Oh,
<v Speaker 2>how do you feel about the cancelation of the show?
<v Speaker 2>Do you have like strong feelings one way or mixed?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 5>No, absolutely, I think like it's it's a scary time.
<v Speaker 5>Like we were just talking about the Supreme Court November seventh, Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>how they are considering overturning same sex marriage.
<v Speaker 4>So yeah, I mean I think it's a scary time
<v Speaker 4>right now.
<v Speaker 5>And I put out like an official statement on how
<v Speaker 5>I feel about the entire experience of the Ultimatum Queer Love,
<v Speaker 5>but it's also the same for the straight version.
<v Speaker 4>And then we also ended up like having a.
<v Speaker 5>Lot more views and like there was like more traction
<v Speaker 5>around our show, but because it's queer, it's being canceled,
<v Speaker 5>and like for a second, I was like, wow, that's
<v Speaker 5>like really unfair, Like how could they like try to
<v Speaker 5>erase us off of our screens because we need more
<v Speaker 5>queer representation in the media. And then it kind of
<v Speaker 5>dawned on me that like if this court ruling goes
<v Speaker 5>in the wrong direction, there wouldn't even be a show
<v Speaker 5>because it's based off of getting engaged and if that's
<v Speaker 5>not allowed in certain states, then things would have to
<v Speaker 5>get messy with like Netflix and like casting and that
<v Speaker 5>kind of thing. So I think it's awful all around,
<v Speaker 5>Like everything that's happening right now and what I've been
<v Speaker 5>trying to do lately is just like have a voice,
<v Speaker 5>be creative, and like get loud about the situation.
<v Speaker 4>I think that's all we can do.
<v Speaker 5>Right now, is like try to band together and like
<v Speaker 5>be powerful, keep going to Pride even if it's canceled.
<v Speaker 5>Don't necessarily riot, because that's like not what we should
<v Speaker 5>be doing. I think we should just be like trying
<v Speaker 5>to spread love and like still show up exactly who
<v Speaker 5>we are, and like if we do get a race
<v Speaker 5>from the media, that's not going to stop us from
<v Speaker 5>loving one another, loving whoever the fuck we want. Like
<v Speaker 5>it's it's a scary time, but use your creativity, use
<v Speaker 5>your use your platform and your soul to like make
<v Speaker 5>sure that you don't lose sight of who you are.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, definitely, I know as soon as I saw that
<v Speaker 2>it was being canceled, I sent it to my wife
<v Speaker 2>and I was like homophobic, Yeah, like so.
<v Speaker 4>Much homophobic and yeah, And I didn't.
<v Speaker 2>Even know that they weren't canceling the straight one at
<v Speaker 2>that time. I just was like, is this a joke?
<v Speaker 3>Because they only said about like the queer loves.
<v Speaker 2>Also, I watched the first straight one, but the other
<v Speaker 2>ones I was bored. I was like, what are they
<v Speaker 2>making another queer one? But I think, you know, if
<v Speaker 2>if nothing else, they need to make another show, like
<v Speaker 2>you know, in the UK they have the I Kissed
<v Speaker 2>a Girl.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, my gosh, it's so good.
<v Speaker 2>They need to make a US version they do. I yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>I agree, And like another thing is the ultimatum.
<v Speaker 5>Career love is a is a space for queer people
<v Speaker 5>to relate.
<v Speaker 4>To things that we go through, like.
<v Speaker 5>Different stories, different like things that happen on screens.
<v Speaker 4>Like it's hard to relate to the straight.
<v Speaker 5>Versions or the heateronormative culture versions because like our our
<v Speaker 5>love and like the way that we express us ourselves
<v Speaker 5>is very different than you.
<v Speaker 4>Know, the heterinformative culture.
<v Speaker 5>So I think, like it's important to continue to have
<v Speaker 5>queerness in the media because if not, like, people are
<v Speaker 5>going to feel like we're not. We don't have a
<v Speaker 5>safe space to indulge and to laugh, to cry to like,
<v Speaker 5>you know, all of the things I'm watching, what's on
<v Speaker 5>our screens?
<v Speaker 2>I know. Okay, we have time for one more question.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, So okay, yeah, I think we can leave off
<v Speaker 1>on a good note. What projects or passions are you
<v Speaker 1>currently working on right now?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah? So I'm writing a song every single day.
<v Speaker 2>Oh that's so cool.
<v Speaker 4>I so the full moon was on Thursday.
<v Speaker 5>I think.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, So I like wrote.
<v Speaker 5>Down all of my manifestations and I was like, I
<v Speaker 5>want to set like a goal for myself. I'm also
<v Speaker 5>doing no drink November, so that feels really good.
<v Speaker 4>Nice channel my sadness and my.
<v Speaker 5>Frustration into good outlets right now. So I feel like
<v Speaker 5>writing songs, like working out, Like I went boxing like
<v Speaker 5>a motherfucker. Yes, Oh nice, I wasting that thing so hard.
<v Speaker 5>The girl next to me was like, I look like
<v Speaker 5>the incredible fold. But yeah, like passion projects, I've been singing,
<v Speaker 5>I've been writing, I have a studio. I think it
<v Speaker 5>would be really cool to start a podcast. I'm doing
<v Speaker 5>like another show very soon, which is exciting, and yeah,
<v Speaker 5>there's just a lot of stuff going on. I also
<v Speaker 5>am start getting to partner with Aria the Club, which
<v Speaker 5>is a like women loving woman member.
<v Speaker 4>Luxury travel.
<v Speaker 2>Luxury Travel cool.
<v Speaker 4>I think I've heard of this organization.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, but we're hosting two trips in Spain in January.
<v Speaker 2>So fancy. Okay, that's so super fun.
<v Speaker 4>It's a castle in the Canary Islands.
<v Speaker 3>Are you kidding me? I'm like, can we go?
<v Speaker 2>I know, I'm like I want to go to a castle. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>What what are your socials or where can people listen
<v Speaker 2>to you? Like, do you have any songs out that
<v Speaker 2>people can find?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, so I have a song from twenty eighteen out
<v Speaker 5>right now, and I do have a couple of songs
<v Speaker 5>that like I could potentially like re record in the studio
<v Speaker 5>or some of my new stuff. But right now, on
<v Speaker 5>Spotify you can find me at just and like it's
<v Speaker 5>called Broke Me and it's by Marita featuring.
<v Speaker 4>Ill Will, And then on socials you can find me.
<v Speaker 5>At Marita Proger on Instagram and TikTok owes.
<v Speaker 2>That's great. Wow, Okay, that was so fun. So we

<v Speaker 2>excited that you came on.
<v Speaker 3>I know, thank you. Yes, yeah, of course it was fun.
