<v Speaker 1>Jerry, Katy and Josh six one hundred.
<v Speaker 2>There is a story out this morning talking about what
<v Speaker 2>it would cost a family of for this summer to
<v Speaker 2>head out and have a good time. You are easily
<v Speaker 2>looking at a bill of just shy of seven thousand dollars,
<v Speaker 2>eight hundred and sixty one dollars. Yeah, exact.
<v Speaker 1>That seems about right, it does. I'm going on a
<v Speaker 1>couple of vacations and just me singular that you know tracks. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that's about right.
<v Speaker 2>Two thousand dollars for meals, two grand for hotel accommodations,
<v Speaker 2>couple grand for airfare, and then you go, you got
<v Speaker 2>souvenirs and whatnot in there. But yeah, you know, I
<v Speaker 2>mean we've been planning our little trip and I would
<v Speaker 2>think that's going to be right in the ballpark.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, to get out of town for a week. Well,
<v Speaker 1>and I'm lucky at both of my places at the destination,
<v Speaker 1>I already have a place to stay. I don't have
<v Speaker 1>to pay necessarily for lodging, and I'm still going to
<v Speaker 1>be racking up a bill like that.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, thanks seeing little Yeah it costs to go relax,
<v Speaker 2>it sure does.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>They did list out the top ten most expensive travel
<v Speaker 2>destinations in the US, and then the ten most affordable
<v Speaker 2>believe it or not. If you're heading out with your
<v Speaker 2>family to Anchorage, Alaska, that's the one that's gonna cost
<v Speaker 2>you the most, right up there in the upper six thousands.
<v Speaker 2>Then New York is on there are you going in your.
<v Speaker 1>I am going You're going to New York? Yeah, flying
<v Speaker 1>into Albany.
<v Speaker 2>Albany, Santa Barbara Key West is on the list of Miami,
<v Speaker 2>and then multiple locations throughout the islands of Hawaii.
<v Speaker 1>The most affordable.
<v Speaker 2>I had to laugh at this one. The first one
<v Speaker 2>is Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It's gonna set you back for a
<v Speaker 2>family of four about thirty one hundred bucks. And I
<v Speaker 2>will tell you my dad growing.
<v Speaker 1>Up was a huge Civil War buck history.
<v Speaker 2>I was gonna say, history guy, mainly Civil War has
<v Speaker 2>all sorts of Civil War memorabilia and books and muskets
<v Speaker 2>and what you name it, black powder rifles and.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my goodness, I imagine there's a lot of like
<v Speaker 1>reenact and since.
<v Speaker 2>My mom put down and would not let him do
<v Speaker 2>the remaxment because it was just so ridiculous at that point.
<v Speaker 2>But he's got a little hat and everything but growing up, man,
<v Speaker 2>we we traveled the out East a lot, going through
<v Speaker 2>a lot of Civil War battlefields for you, including Ysburg
<v Speaker 2>and boy, kids love looking at Civil War battlefield hill like, hey,
<v Speaker 2>another corn field.
<v Speaker 1>Yay, so that's where it happened. Yeah, I'm right there.
<v Speaker 2>Now they're growing corn, miles and miles of corn. But
<v Speaker 2>back in the eighteen Clearwater, Florida's on there, Glendale, Arizona,
<v Speaker 2>Branson's on there. That's another one. My parents dragged me
<v Speaker 2>to Branson, Miss mic even. Oh my god, it was
<v Speaker 2>all these old acts from like the fifties. Oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>it was so bad.
<v Speaker 1>It sounds horrible.
<v Speaker 2>So we've been on so many boring family trips.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah anyway, Yeah, well I agree with you there. But
<v Speaker 1>when it comes to saving money, I do have a
<v Speaker 1>tip for you where you can save money, at least
<v Speaker 1>on the plane. And this is something I don't think
<v Speaker 1>you would have thought of. You know, the baggage fees
<v Speaker 1>that airlines are, you know, charging everyone. Now you can
<v Speaker 1>save a little money on that with your pillowcase. More well,
<v Speaker 1>you can bring a pillow on a plane, right Like
<v Speaker 1>they don't count it. They don't count it as like
<v Speaker 1>one of your pieces of luggage. So they say, you
<v Speaker 1>can take that pillow and fill it with soft clothes
<v Speaker 1>like your jeans, your t shirts. You know, if you
<v Speaker 1>have an extra blanket in your luggage or something that
<v Speaker 1>you need, and you know, if you pack it right,
<v Speaker 1>you can make it look like a pillow and it
<v Speaker 1>can get you in and you can save some money,
<v Speaker 1>because again, bags are costing like fifty bucks and you
<v Speaker 1>can imagine filling a pillowcase with all of those clothes.
<v Speaker 1>That's a good idea, except flight attendants are looking for
<v Speaker 1>things like this. Now. I found this on TikTok and
<v Speaker 1>it's trending on TikTok right now because again, baggage fees
<v Speaker 1>are so ridiculous. But fly attendants are being trained now
<v Speaker 1>to look at social media and see the trending little
<v Speaker 1>tips and hacks for flying so that they can counteract them.
<v Speaker 1>Because that's the thing is. Well, they're like, we have
<v Speaker 1>baggage restrictions and weight restrictions for a reason, like the
<v Speaker 1>standard pillow isn't going to weigh more than what a
<v Speaker 1>pound or two? Yeah, and if everybody does that able
<v Speaker 1>to take off the still exactly, And they said that
<v Speaker 1>you shouldn't really try this because you know those travel pillows,
<v Speaker 1>those they will let on, no problem, but a standard pillow.
<v Speaker 1>A lot of flight attendants, you're bringing a body pillow,
<v Speaker 1>they'll flag that. They'll be like, we don't allow that
<v Speaker 1>on the plane. We're going to have to charge you
<v Speaker 1>extra for it. So people trying to avoid charges, this
<v Speaker 1>may not work out for you, So just beware. It's
<v Speaker 1>trending on TikTok right now, but not everything that's trending
<v Speaker 1>is actually going to help you out.
<v Speaker 2>Like a hobo jumping on.
<v Speaker 1>Oh josh, if you can afford to fly private, you
<v Speaker 1>don't need a TikTok hack. You're right, you're right, you're right, man,
<v Speaker 1>that's funny.
<v Speaker 2>Was that it? That's the only hack you So there's
<v Speaker 2>a few other.
<v Speaker 1>Ones also, more not even just hacks, but things flight
<v Speaker 1>attendants are saying, like because this is the busy travel season, right,
<v Speaker 1>so water bottles. I didn't even think about this, but
<v Speaker 1>apparently flight attendants are getting a lot of passengers who
<v Speaker 1>come in with empty water bottles and then ask them
<v Speaker 1>to fill them, and they're like, please don't do that,
<v Speaker 1>Please fill your water bottle before you get on.
<v Speaker 2>Well, you shouldn't be drinking the plane on the water
<v Speaker 2>on the plane exactly.
<v Speaker 1>And then they're saying they only have so much water,
<v Speaker 1>and so when somebody comes and asks to fill their
<v Speaker 1>sixty four ounce hydro flask, they're like, we only have
<v Speaker 1>so much, you know, especially like per flight they're only
<v Speaker 1>allowed to carry bacteria exact water, saying you want, but
<v Speaker 1>they said, they get a lot of people who will
<v Speaker 1>get on the plane with empty water bottles and filling.
<v Speaker 1>So just one more thing to think when you're getting
<v Speaker 1>on the plane. And then there's another TikTok hack right
<v Speaker 1>now where people will buy the very back seats of
<v Speaker 1>a plane and then when it lands, they'll run to
<v Speaker 1>the front so they can get so they have like
<v Speaker 1>they'll buy the back seat so they have a clear
<v Speaker 1>path to run, and then they'll run up to the
<v Speaker 1>front before anybody gets up so they can be the
<v Speaker 1>first ones off the plane. And again, these are all
<v Speaker 1>things people see on TikTok and they think they can
<v Speaker 1>get away with it. And flight attendants are coming out
<v Speaker 1>in the saying, please don't make my job harder. I
<v Speaker 1>don't want to have to tackle you.
<v Speaker 2>I don't get they want to be the first off
<v Speaker 2>the plane, and they don't want to pay for their
<v Speaker 2>vacation exactly.
<v Speaker 1>They want. I don't get the people who stand up
<v Speaker 1>when the plane. I know, it's just relax exactly. We're
<v Speaker 1>all here for the next couple of minutes, four minutes exactly.
<v Speaker 1>So I just, yeah, these these are sit down Tina,
<v Speaker 1>all the seats. Yeah, But I just I think it's
<v Speaker 1>because I'm about to go on a flight that all
<v Speaker 1>of these things are popping up on my you know, feed,
<v Speaker 1>just to get me prepared for flight travel.
<v Speaker 2>I like this one from a former flight attendant. Her
<v Speaker 2>story is going viral for saying that you should let
<v Speaker 2>parents with babies board last and not first, because you
<v Speaker 2>see that a lot parents with strollers and small children
<v Speaker 2>get on first. Her advice is simple, board last, sit down,
<v Speaker 2>and then you take off within a few minutes, so
<v Speaker 2>you're not having to sit there while they board the
<v Speaker 2>rest of the plane. And then you've got maybe a
<v Speaker 2>baby that's just a little easier to take care of.
<v Speaker 2>I guess when you're boarding last and boom, a little
<v Speaker 2>less time on the plane. I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>That seems like a decent that's smart, that's smart.
<v Speaker 2>Some parents are fighting against it, though, saying that it's
<v Speaker 2>easier to go on first because you've got more stuff,
<v Speaker 2>and it's going to be easier to grab an overhead
<v Speaker 2>bin and space and not feel so rushed by going
<v Speaker 2>on first.
<v Speaker 1>Place for parents, boom, there you do, there you go,
<v Speaker 1>you go. Well, And I know now that Southwest does
<v Speaker 1>the assigned seating, this is going to be as big
<v Speaker 1>of an isiation because I know that's why people wanted
<v Speaker 1>to get on first so they could get the best seats. Right,
<v Speaker 1>But now that that's not a thing. Yeah, try breastfeeding.
<v Speaker 2>It was horrible.
<v Speaker 1>It is so inconvenient, and you have to because their
<v Speaker 1>little ears need to pop. And so when you're flying
<v Speaker 1>like you need their ears to pop. And that's how
<v Speaker 1>you make them is they need to be sucking on
<v Speaker 1>something to make their ears pop. So you have to.
<v Speaker 2>Think of the same thing.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, sometimes I forget who I'm talking to.
