<v Speaker 1>Jerry, Katy and Josh one hundred shout out to all
<v Speaker 1>the parents listening this morning to jkj here at Mix
<v Speaker 1>one hundred. Would love it if you called in and
<v Speaker 1>sound off about your kiddo's and the reasoning behind their name.
<v Speaker 1>If you want to get on the air with us,
<v Speaker 1>I would love to have you on the air with us.
<v Speaker 1>This is all based off a message that we received
<v Speaker 1>from Megan. Megan said, Hey, I heard you guys talking
<v Speaker 1>the other day about how people picked their kiddo's names,
<v Speaker 1>and I had to write in because my son's name
<v Speaker 1>came from a very serious, deeply meaningful place, she said,
<v Speaker 1>my husband's childhood obsession with action movies. She said, we
<v Speaker 1>named our son Logan when we were pregnant, which I
<v Speaker 1>hate saying that. When we were pregnant. When she was pregnant,
<v Speaker 1>I had a list of sweet family names and my
<v Speaker 1>husband had one name, which was Logan. I thought he
<v Speaker 1>liked it because it sounded strong and classic. Well nope,
<v Speaker 1>he finally admitted that he wanted to name our little
<v Speaker 1>baby after Wolverine. Now, at first I said, absolutely not.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not naming my child after a hairy man with
<v Speaker 1>knives in his hands. And he has anger issues. But
<v Speaker 1>then the name kept growing on me, and Logan sounded
<v Speaker 1>normal enough for school, strong enough for adulthood, and just
<v Speaker 1>nerdy enough that my husband can feel like he won. Yeah. Well,
<v Speaker 1>little Logan is now seven, and she says his name
<v Speaker 1>kind of fits now. He's dramatic and stubborn and weirdly strong.
<v Speaker 1>So yes, our sweet baby boy is named after a
<v Speaker 1>sweaty action superhero. I wish I had a more elegant story,
<v Speaker 1>but the truth is my husband wore me down and
<v Speaker 1>he got his mutant brand. I guess what she said.
<v Speaker 1>That's pretty good. She said, maybe you guys can use
<v Speaker 1>this for a show topic. Did anyone else let their
<v Speaker 1>spouse name a child after a movie character, an athlete,
<v Speaker 1>a superhero, some random childhood obsession? Love you, guys, And
<v Speaker 1>that's from Megan. So yeah, we're gonna take this and
<v Speaker 1>kind of spin it. I see phone lines ringing already.
<v Speaker 1>If you want to shout out your kiddo and talk
<v Speaker 1>about where their name came from, doesn't have to be
<v Speaker 1>an action superhero. But what's the backstory to the name?
<v Speaker 1>Because I love these three O three six nine one
<v Speaker 1>one mix three O three six nine one sixteen forty nine.
<v Speaker 1>We'll get you here on the show. Now, how about
<v Speaker 1>little baby Zoey. That's spelled Zoie.
<v Speaker 2>Now it's z o w I E like Bowie. There's
<v Speaker 2>no wrong way to spell a name, let me tell
<v Speaker 2>you that much. But we got her name her dad
<v Speaker 2>and I were just going through a bunch of them.
<v Speaker 2>I mentioned this before on the show, that Genesis was
<v Speaker 2>an option, and my mom talked me out of it quickly.
<v Speaker 2>We were gonna go with Madison Elise for a while,
<v Speaker 2>but then I started to see a bunch of Madisons
<v Speaker 2>pop up. So we changed her name like three different times,
<v Speaker 2>and the one we settled on was Zoe. And it
<v Speaker 2>comes from the Baby Blues comic. Do you remember Baby Blues?
<v Speaker 2>The mom and the dad and then they have the
<v Speaker 2>little daughter Zoe, and then later on they had the
<v Speaker 2>little baby boy and they named him Hammy. That's so
<v Speaker 2>and I wish I love it's Zoe Hammy. It's her
<v Speaker 2>real name. But no, I loved that comic so much
<v Speaker 2>growing up, like I read it each and every week religiously,
<v Speaker 2>so I've always loved that name. And then we wrote
<v Speaker 2>all the names down on napkins, and it was why
<v Speaker 2>We spelled it the way we did because z O
<v Speaker 2>W I E just looked so pretty compared to the
<v Speaker 2>other ways we spelled it, So that's why we settled
<v Speaker 2>on that.
<v Speaker 1>But I still I'm named comic book character.
<v Speaker 2>So glad it's named Zoe. And then her middle name
<v Speaker 2>is Down and so her name means dish, so light
<v Speaker 2>and life is what those who means Zoe means life
<v Speaker 2>and don means light.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I wish it was named I wish it was
<v Speaker 1>the dish, so that would have been funnier, perfect name
<v Speaker 1>for her. It's not funny, it's meaningful. That's what her
<v Speaker 1>name is. Let's find some fun ones if you guys
<v Speaker 1>want to sound off about what you named your kiddo
<v Speaker 1>and why you named them that name. Uh, what did
<v Speaker 1>you name your kiddo and why did you name them that?
<v Speaker 1>Such a great message came in from a woman who said,
<v Speaker 1>we named our son Finn because my husband and I
<v Speaker 1>got engaged on a fishing trip. He wanted to name
<v Speaker 1>him Fisher. I said no, so we settled on Finn.
<v Speaker 1>Like cute. Rebecca wrote in and said, we named our
<v Speaker 1>son Miles because of my husband and I did long
<v Speaker 1>distance for three years before getting married, and we joked
<v Speaker 1>that we had put in the Miles. The name stuck.
<v Speaker 1>Now we've got a boy named Miles. See that's a
<v Speaker 1>cute backstory. So mine too, is is it? Nina? It's
<v Speaker 1>good morning, good morning to you. So you got a kiddo.
<v Speaker 3>I have a couple actually that have fun different names.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 3>My boy's name is Cairo, after Egypt because I love
<v Speaker 3>I've always just loved, been obsessed with Egypt my whole life.
<v Speaker 3>And then my daughter's name is a La, after a
<v Speaker 3>book character of the Clan of the Cave Bears series.
<v Speaker 1>What a deep pull, the Clan of the Cave Bears.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, if you've never read it, they're fun, they're interesting,
<v Speaker 3>there's they're wild.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's what we're talking about. And I don't think
<v Speaker 1>i've ever heard that name before.
<v Speaker 3>Ala Ala Yeah, yes, ma'am.
<v Speaker 4>So I was supposed to be named Aila.
<v Speaker 3>My sisters have two a names. And then my dad
<v Speaker 3>wanted somebody named after his side of the family, so
<v Speaker 3>I got Nina. So I named my daughter Aila.
<v Speaker 1>Perfect, you know what. I love the backstory? Well played,
<v Speaker 1>well played. Thank you for calling in and participating.
<v Speaker 5>You have a great week, you guys, thank you so much,
<v Speaker 5>you too.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, bye, Ela? How do I say in three? Ela?
<v Speaker 1>Isla Aliyah Aliyah Aliah? There you are?
<v Speaker 5>You got a kiddo, Good morning, I do.
<v Speaker 1>What's the name?
<v Speaker 5>So Jordan's need I say more?
<v Speaker 1>Really like you?
<v Speaker 3>Jeremy.
<v Speaker 5>I born in the eighties, raised by the nineties, so
<v Speaker 5>huge Michael Jordan's fan.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, well play the real go get that lebron crap
<v Speaker 2>out of here.
<v Speaker 1>Huh.
<v Speaker 5>No wing games these days have no idea.
<v Speaker 1>I love this. This is my favorite one so far. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Katie loves basketball.
<v Speaker 2>He's my favorite. Like MJ is king to me all day.
<v Speaker 2>I wanted to be MJ.
<v Speaker 3>I love m J.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, so my husband and I. Our wedding anniversary is
<v Speaker 5>Michael Jordan's birthday.
<v Speaker 1>You are and then.
<v Speaker 5>We we uh we went to Vegas and did it
<v Speaker 5>at the chapel he was first married at.
<v Speaker 1>Oh you are devoted, little bit a little bit? Did
<v Speaker 1>you wear Jordan's when you got married? No, I should
<v Speaker 1>have missed opportunity, missed opportunity.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, well I got a third out of he'all do that.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, we got a ton more parents on the line
<v Speaker 1>we got to get to. But thank you for the smiles.
<v Speaker 1>That's a great call. Love it.
<v Speaker 5>You're welcome to have a good day, you too, bye.
<v Speaker 1>That one made my whole day. Taran all right, Matt, Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>how are you well? We're super dupes, buddy. You got
<v Speaker 1>a kiddo, I have several.
<v Speaker 6>I'm four. The one I'm talking about is my son Chance.
<v Speaker 6>And I grew up watching a movie with my dad
<v Speaker 6>called Rio Bravo and it was a cowboy movie with
<v Speaker 6>John Wayne and Dean Martin and I used to I
<v Speaker 6>used to not love it, and then slowly, as you
<v Speaker 6>watch it with your dad, over years and years and years,
<v Speaker 6>it became my favorite movie. And so I named my
<v Speaker 6>son Chance after John Wayne's character John T. Chance in
<v Speaker 6>the movie. And it's just something that's real special to
<v Speaker 6>me and my dad and it's a cool story to
<v Speaker 6>get to tell people. And so couldn't be happier with
<v Speaker 6>the choice. And it fits in perfectly.
<v Speaker 1>And come on, I mean, what wrong masculine name John
<v Speaker 1>Wayne thrown in there too.
<v Speaker 2>Our dads were so too, Like my dad loved John Wayne,
<v Speaker 2>like that was just what dad's did.
<v Speaker 1>Every dad back then loved John Wayne totally. Matt, absolutely
<v Speaker 1>love the call. Give a shout out to Chance today. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>to Chance today.
<v Speaker 6>Okay, we'll do man, Thank you guys later.
<v Speaker 1>Body here, Hi, Josh's the best one. Who am I
<v Speaker 1>going to?
<v Speaker 3>You know what?
<v Speaker 1>I liked? Erica's was really funny. Erica, Hi, Hey, you
<v Speaker 1>big goof. You got a kiddo?
<v Speaker 5>I do.
<v Speaker 4>I have a lot, but I have one daughter, and
<v Speaker 4>after three boys, we were struggling to pick a name.
<v Speaker 4>And then as I was about to pop, my husband
<v Speaker 4>needed new work boots and the shoe salesman at the
<v Speaker 4>work boot place was named Liliana, and we ended up
<v Speaker 4>naming her after our salesman.
<v Speaker 1>I thought, for sure, you're gonna name your kid boot.
<v Speaker 4>For a cat?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Oh my goodness. So it just because you liked
<v Speaker 1>her name, that's all it took.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah. And we were debating a couple for months and
<v Speaker 4>then checked out at the store and I was like, Lily,
<v Speaker 4>i'ma like the one.
<v Speaker 2>And when you can both agree on it, it's almost
<v Speaker 2>like the light shines down on you and stuff, right,
<v Speaker 2>the moment is so real, like.
<v Speaker 4>This is it really?
<v Speaker 1>I think there was a hot Angela that wrote in
<v Speaker 1>and said her daughter's name was Clara. Now she named
<v Speaker 1>Clara after the nurse who took care of her during
<v Speaker 1>a really, really scary pregnancy complication. The nurse was calm
<v Speaker 1>when everyone else was panicking. I never forgot her. I
<v Speaker 1>didn't have a name ready, so Clara stuck see in
<v Speaker 1>the moment, it was like boom, that works a special moment.
<v Speaker 4>I hope that nurse knows that she had a kid
<v Speaker 4>named after her too that impact because my shoe failsman
<v Speaker 4>definitely doesn't.
<v Speaker 1>She doesn't know, so funny, Clara, thank you so much
<v Speaker 1>for calling in You guys, Rock appreciate all the calls
<v Speaker 1>and comments. Today with Jeremy, Katie and Josh here at
