<v Speaker 1>Jared, Katy and Josh makes one hundred.
<v Speaker 2>All right.
<v Speaker 3>I'm hesitant to do this because it is so tired,
<v Speaker 3>so tired Star Wars Day, which, in my opinion, it's
<v Speaker 3>up there with the It's gonna be May memes, It's
<v Speaker 3>up there with Mario Day, It's up there with the
<v Speaker 3>ugly Christmas sweater parties.
<v Speaker 2>It's tired.
<v Speaker 4>But I know something, you love it?
<v Speaker 2>Yeahs me so happy. Ugly.
<v Speaker 1>There's something to be said for tradition, chare there is.
<v Speaker 4>But we need new things. I'm gonna tell you right now.
<v Speaker 4>I was thinking about this on my drive in today.
<v Speaker 4>I was like, hey, it's May the fourth. Yeah, every year,
<v Speaker 4>every year.
<v Speaker 2>Star Wars st play Star Wars.
<v Speaker 4>We need new we need new things, We need new days.
<v Speaker 3>We just need new things. Everything is just so repetitive, right.
<v Speaker 3>I don't want to sound all crotchy.
<v Speaker 4>I know I am.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, but but don't you think we It's like we need.
<v Speaker 4>To freshen things up a little bit.
<v Speaker 1>It's not crotchety, though.
<v Speaker 5>When you want to freshen things up, days new and excite,
<v Speaker 5>ssh excitement.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe we could do that.
<v Speaker 5>Maybe we could come up with a list of new
<v Speaker 5>holidays we can celebrate for the year. That are you know, unique,
<v Speaker 5>that people aren't all just worn out on I know,
<v Speaker 5>you know, I think, yeah, I'm with you on that.
<v Speaker 5>Like I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan. I know
<v Speaker 5>Josh gets annoyed when I call him am I one
<v Speaker 5>of those swords sword guys, So you know, like, but
<v Speaker 5>I get it.
<v Speaker 1>I get what you would want to make things.
<v Speaker 3>You know, I'll play a little Star Star Wars Starbucks,
<v Speaker 3>your little Star Wars music today.
<v Speaker 4>I'll play this little guy.
<v Speaker 2>There's me a chance to do that.
<v Speaker 4>I got some more audio for you. We'll even play
<v Speaker 4>this for you.
<v Speaker 3>Here you go.
<v Speaker 2>What day is it? Do you really not know that?
<v Speaker 5>I really.
<v Speaker 2>Never told you what happens to you?
<v Speaker 6>Father?
<v Speaker 4>E's May fourth.
<v Speaker 2>It's made the fourth, happy style Las day. May the
<v Speaker 2>fourth be with you.
<v Speaker 4>Enjoy Star Wars Day and the Star Wars Day it
<v Speaker 4>show time.
<v Speaker 2>I should have probably chopped that down. It's a little
<v Speaker 2>even at the end of it.
<v Speaker 4>I was even tired of it.
<v Speaker 2>No Josh happy.
<v Speaker 3>You know, I can't make too much fun of all
<v Speaker 3>the dorks out there, because I mean, I collect he
<v Speaker 3>man and stuff.
<v Speaker 2>So I get it.
<v Speaker 4>I get the appeal of collecting things, and holy crap.
<v Speaker 3>I got a ton of Star Wars action figures and
<v Speaker 3>stuff from the late seventies, you know, into the eighties.
<v Speaker 3>Like I've got old school stuff, which is so cool.
<v Speaker 3>We just need we need new days, you guys, right, Josh,
<v Speaker 3>we need new days. I had a Star Wars T
<v Speaker 3>shirt on this morning. You told Joe I had it on.
<v Speaker 1>Why did Why? This is the day you wear that.
<v Speaker 4>I don't want to look like an idiot today.
<v Speaker 1>You're like, I'm one of them.
<v Speaker 4>I was like, you know what, I still want my
<v Speaker 4>wife to find me attractive.
<v Speaker 1>Out with the shirt.
<v Speaker 3>So I took the shirt off and I put a
<v Speaker 3>Van's shirt on today. I was like, that's much more hippy.
<v Speaker 1>You're like, this is this is me.
<v Speaker 3>Enough of my complaining, Josh, what would you like to
<v Speaker 3>say about Star Wars Day?
<v Speaker 2>I get it.
<v Speaker 6>I totally understand where you're coming from. Yes, we do
<v Speaker 6>need new days. But for me, like you with he man,
<v Speaker 6>I love Star Wars. It's my fandom. So this makes
<v Speaker 6>me very happy. I mean, even over the weekend, my
<v Speaker 6>girlfriend gave me a Star Wars cupcake and she's like,
<v Speaker 6>don't eat it till the fourth and so I have
<v Speaker 6>this like massive decorated Star Wars cupcake waiting for me
<v Speaker 6>at home.
<v Speaker 2>It's cute now.
<v Speaker 3>For her because yeah, you guys are still on the
<v Speaker 3>lovey Dobby whoo each other's stage.
<v Speaker 1>Just totally wait this is your first May the fourth.
<v Speaker 1>That's a couple.
<v Speaker 2>Oh we're going all out, just you wait.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I got the Star Wars blue milk.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean like, I go all out. I like it.
<v Speaker 6>This this is my day. It's fun for me. She
<v Speaker 6>had fun with it, and so we have a bunch
<v Speaker 6>of stuff going on. I will be watching Star Wars
<v Speaker 6>later today like it's and you know what's funny, Jeremy.
<v Speaker 6>I also had a shirt on. I had it, I
<v Speaker 6>had it laid out. I didn't put it on, but
<v Speaker 6>I was like, I can't do it.
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to go. I got a little self
<v Speaker 2>shame there.
<v Speaker 3>I was like, I'm just gonna throw run errands today
<v Speaker 3>after the show, and I'm like, I'm i gotta go
<v Speaker 3>to the DMV today.
<v Speaker 2>Don't be jealous.
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, I'm not gonna sit at the DMV today
<v Speaker 4>in a Star Wars T shirt.
<v Speaker 2>It's not a question. Can't do it?
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, especially on today like any other day, I'll throw
<v Speaker 6>on a shirt, a Star Wars shirt.
<v Speaker 2>I don't care. But today I was like, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think I can do it.
<v Speaker 5>You're opening up the possibility of a lot of unwanted
<v Speaker 5>conversations if you wear a Star Wars shirt today, Like
<v Speaker 5>people will just come up to you and start.
<v Speaker 4>Not really irritating people.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't know we had so many songs.
<v Speaker 1>I know you're really going all out here with the
<v Speaker 1>Star Wars.
<v Speaker 4>Theme for all the young kids.
<v Speaker 2>This is star Trek. Yeah. I was like, this is
<v Speaker 2>a Star Wars I didn't know. I gonna know. That's
<v Speaker 2>gonna piss off the Star Wars fan mission.
<v Speaker 4>Accomplished hood right around this time.
<v Speaker 3>We'd like to give you a little PMI action with
<v Speaker 3>jkj here at mix. It's a positive, a minus, and
<v Speaker 3>something interesting to start your day.
<v Speaker 4>Who had the P today?
<v Speaker 6>I got the P today And this one's gonna warm
<v Speaker 6>your heart because Mary Emrick. She is a US veteran
<v Speaker 6>who is now dealing with PTSD after serving for a
<v Speaker 6>couple of years there. She teamed up with Colorado School
<v Speaker 6>of Minds and several students there, along with projects serve
<v Speaker 6>to help her deal with something. She has a service
<v Speaker 6>dog now that goes with her everywhere to help her,
<v Speaker 6>and she also deserves a lot of people in other
<v Speaker 6>nonprofits as well.
<v Speaker 2>And she's like, I have a problem.
<v Speaker 6>I have this wagon of things that I bring and
<v Speaker 6>I have so much stuff in here that it gets
<v Speaker 6>really heavy, and it's hard to go through doors and
<v Speaker 6>be able to get my dog through them because sometimes
<v Speaker 6>the door closes too quickly. So she teamed up with
<v Speaker 6>Projects Serve and Colorado School of Minds to come up
<v Speaker 6>with an apparatus that the Dot, her dog, her service dog,
<v Speaker 6>can actually wear, and then it brings the wagon along
<v Speaker 6>with her and she goes. It has made everything so
<v Speaker 6>much easier for so much better. So these students and
<v Speaker 6>I want to give them a shout out by name
<v Speaker 6>because what they did is awesome. So Hannah Gates, Karuna Owens,
<v Speaker 6>Kate Kudlak, Kira Buck Malter, and Sam Koch.
<v Speaker 4>So what is it?
<v Speaker 6>Teamed up and device that the dog can pull the wagon.
<v Speaker 6>Get teamed up and created this device that the dog
<v Speaker 6>can wear. And it's it's an apple. It's it's an
<v Speaker 6>it goes around. No, it's not a rope, it's it's
<v Speaker 6>the picture shows it much better than what I can explain.
<v Speaker 6>But it's this thing that goes around the entire dog
<v Speaker 6>and it's connected to the wagon, so the dog basically
<v Speaker 6>looks like what a horse would wear.
<v Speaker 1>A harness to attach to the way.
<v Speaker 5>It's pretty neat and he can pull it so it
<v Speaker 5>doesn't I guess, have any weight on the actual dog.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, wheels and stuff.
<v Speaker 6>It's like yeah, And what's so cool about this is
<v Speaker 6>these seniors got to do this for their senior capstone
<v Speaker 6>and they actually went back and forth from Nebraska where
<v Speaker 6>Mary lives, to get exactly what her vision was and
<v Speaker 6>we ate this thing. And they worked with her for
<v Speaker 6>almost their full school year to create this thing, and
<v Speaker 6>then they all showed it off at the senior capstone.
<v Speaker 6>Mary was there and she is so excited to be
<v Speaker 6>able to use this now because she is serving others
<v Speaker 6>along with her and her little service dog. And I
<v Speaker 6>love this story because all these seniors got to help
<v Speaker 6>work with veterans and I love being able to help
<v Speaker 6>the veterans in any way that we can.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, and thank you Mary for your service. Yeah very sweet.
<v Speaker 5>All right, Well, McDonald's is bringing us the minus today
<v Speaker 5>because what the heck are.
<v Speaker 1>They doing with their beverage stations?
<v Speaker 4>Are you hearing this about this too?
<v Speaker 2>Going on?
<v Speaker 4>This is?
<v Speaker 1>This is horrible. It is horrible.
<v Speaker 5>And they say by twenty thirty two they're gonna move
<v Speaker 5>away from the.
<v Speaker 1>Self service beverage station.
<v Speaker 3>Is to be all knowing law for the one time
<v Speaker 3>of year I go to McDonald's, I want to walk
<v Speaker 3>up and get me some most sodis.
<v Speaker 5>Pumps exact, Do you have your meal, and then right
<v Speaker 5>before you leave, you fill up your soda cup.
<v Speaker 1>I'm right there with you. You're not going to be
<v Speaker 1>able to do that anymore?
<v Speaker 4>Were they doing this too?
<v Speaker 5>The soda stuff is going to be designated through the
<v Speaker 5>actual employee, So if you want soda, the employee is
<v Speaker 5>gonna have to get it for you, give it.
<v Speaker 1>To you, give free refills, you can.
<v Speaker 5>But you're gonna have to go through the guy, the
<v Speaker 5>person and that. But a lot of McDonald's are privately
<v Speaker 5>owned and so it's all gonna be determined baby the
<v Speaker 5>individual ownership. So not all McDonald's will have free refills,
<v Speaker 5>and so it's not going to be consistent, which is
<v Speaker 5>something we love about McDonald.
<v Speaker 1>That's usually consistent across the board.
<v Speaker 5>Right, So, yeah, this is definitely causing some ruckus in
<v Speaker 5>the McDonald's community.
<v Speaker 1>And I just want to point out.
<v Speaker 5>Personally, they put in all those fun little machines where
<v Speaker 5>you get to like add cherry to your sprite.
<v Speaker 4>And you touch screen.
<v Speaker 5>Why did they do that if they're just gonna take
<v Speaker 5>it away from give it to us.
<v Speaker 1>If you're just gonna take it away.
<v Speaker 4>How rude.
<v Speaker 3>You know what I don't like this is we stop
<v Speaker 3>it a lot of times on our road trips at
<v Speaker 3>McDonald's because you can zip in and you know, have
<v Speaker 3>a bathroom break while you're there. Yeah, you know, grab
<v Speaker 3>yourself a little something something for the road, you know,
<v Speaker 3>then you hit the the soda machine right before you leave.
<v Speaker 4>And top off exactly, and then it's not gonna be there.
<v Speaker 4>And I get the aspect.
<v Speaker 3>Did you see this in the story because they're worried
<v Speaker 3>about like the cleanliness fact that it started.
<v Speaker 5>During COVID nineteen, that's where all this started. And then
<v Speaker 5>they just saw not only was it helping with hygiene,
<v Speaker 5>but their bottom line as well because the price point
<v Speaker 5>all the wasted soda with people who were just like,
<v Speaker 5>you know, then there is some of it.
<v Speaker 1>But I imagine it's not gonna.
<v Speaker 5>Be lessened a whole lot by letting employees handle all
<v Speaker 5>of it.
<v Speaker 3>They will you know, have you seen the public go
<v Speaker 3>up there and just you know, I'd get it, lean
<v Speaker 3>over and drink out of the time.
<v Speaker 5>I just feel like this, like they're gonna get so
<v Speaker 5>many pushbacks. I wonder if it's gonna be worth it,
<v Speaker 5>because already in this room.
<v Speaker 1>We're all mad.
<v Speaker 4>Guess who's going to Wendy's exactly? You know that's what
<v Speaker 4>people will do too, juniacs. There you go, there you go.
<v Speaker 4>All right, Well, let's wrap things up with the interesting.
<v Speaker 3>This one made me giggle, and Katie, I'm wondering if
<v Speaker 3>you're dealing this with your daughter. But gen Z is
<v Speaker 3>now being called the Christopher Columbus generation because they keep
<v Speaker 3>discovering things that have already existed. The latest one is
<v Speaker 3>silent walking, which is going for a walk without your phone.
<v Speaker 2>Uh you mean like the.
<v Speaker 5>Nineties Christopher Columbus, Yeah, the Christopher. Have you guys heard
<v Speaker 5>of these hot pockets?
<v Speaker 3>Whyet quitting is in there, which is what people have
<v Speaker 3>done for years. They just discovered coke floats, which have
<v Speaker 3>been around since the eighteen hundred I know when they
<v Speaker 3>think it.
<v Speaker 5>Is if you put ice cream in your soda, it's
<v Speaker 5>like an amazing upgrade.
<v Speaker 4>Try Oh my god, have you even tried it?
<v Speaker 3>Other things like they're discovering digital cameras. They've recently discovered
<v Speaker 3>wired headphones. Yeah, and CDs and cassettes and records.
<v Speaker 5>How about the little girl who went viral on TikTok
<v Speaker 5>who was like, here's an idea work with like no
<v Speaker 5>hear me out right, a phone.
<v Speaker 1>We all share it and it stays in the house.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, brilliant, It's so happening.
<v Speaker 4>What is happening there?
<v Speaker 3>You go, guys, as you're positive your minus and definitely
<v Speaker 3>something a little interesting and super annoying with jkj here
<v Speaker 3>at moos
