<v Speaker 1>Jerry Katy and Josh Mix one hundred.
<v Speaker 2>All right, so there's a big story going around right now.
<v Speaker 2>It's definitely popping on the socials where this dad had
<v Speaker 2>to take his young daughters in to wash their hands.
<v Speaker 3>Staying away here, Okay, So it involves Oklahoma father Tyler
<v Speaker 3>and man he got a debate going after he recorded
<v Speaker 3>a confrontation at an Alabama gas station. So he brought
<v Speaker 3>his two young daughters into the women's restroom when he
<v Speaker 3>was on this road trip, right and he said he
<v Speaker 3>knocked and announced his presence beforehand to ensure the women's
<v Speaker 3>restroom was empty. I want to preface it with that
<v Speaker 3>he chose the women's room over the men's restroom because
<v Speaker 3>he felt the men's facility, often containing open urinals and
<v Speaker 3>occupied by adult men, was not a safer appropriate environment
<v Speaker 3>for his young daughters. So while he was in there
<v Speaker 3>helping his daughters wash their hands, someone, an older guy,
<v Speaker 3>aggressively confronted him. And there's video of this. You can
<v Speaker 3>see this guy just he is so mad about it.
<v Speaker 3>He's shouting at him, demanding they leave, arguing that his
<v Speaker 3>wife and ill mother in law needed to use the restroom,
<v Speaker 3>but felt uncomfortable with Tyler in there with the man
<v Speaker 3>inside the restroom. So this guy who was yelling at
<v Speaker 3>Tyler called nine one one, and part of the video
<v Speaker 3>is him telling the.
<v Speaker 1>Police there's a guy in the bathroom. He's got his
<v Speaker 1>girls in here.
<v Speaker 3>But here's the thing, is like they're trying to de
<v Speaker 3>escalate the situation. The cops arrive and they're like, you know,
<v Speaker 3>he has not broken any laws. This isn't a police manager.
<v Speaker 3>But the whole thing again went viral. Yeah, matter, but
<v Speaker 3>the whole thing went viral and was put up on
<v Speaker 3>the internet, and now folks are debating about it because
<v Speaker 3>it is very much like I one hundred percent think
<v Speaker 3>he's in the right. If a man wants to bring
<v Speaker 3>his two young girls into the women's restroom, as long
<v Speaker 3>as he made sure and checked it beforehand, made sure
<v Speaker 3>it was empty, announced his presence, it's one hundred percent okay.
<v Speaker 1>He's trying to.
<v Speaker 3>Make his daughters feel comfortable. So that's where I'm one
<v Speaker 3>hundred percent okay with it. But you and Josh have
<v Speaker 3>both said you don't.
<v Speaker 4>Think it's okay. Well no, no, no, I don't know,
<v Speaker 4>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I don't both said that you think it's okay for
<v Speaker 3>him to bring the girls into the men's bathroom, and
<v Speaker 3>I think that part is not I understand why he wants.
<v Speaker 1>To bring them into the women's insteads Listen, here's the thing.
<v Speaker 1>So then this.
<v Speaker 3>Is where the argument just gets going because people have
<v Speaker 3>a side on this.
<v Speaker 2>I guess I coming at it because I've I have kids,
<v Speaker 2>I have a daughter, you know, I think I've had
<v Speaker 2>to do this before, and I would just go into
<v Speaker 2>the men's room and quickly wash hands and leave.
<v Speaker 3>I think they're washing their hands in the video, but
<v Speaker 3>I think they went to the bathroom.
<v Speaker 1>I think the girls use the rest.
<v Speaker 4>A different thing.
<v Speaker 2>Then, then, yes, I would I would prefer the women's bathroom.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, then the men's in that circumstance.
<v Speaker 3>And would you go in there with your young girl
<v Speaker 3>to make sure she was okay?
<v Speaker 2>I would probably he popped my head in and just
<v Speaker 2>see if anybody was in there, and if nobody was
<v Speaker 2>in there, I'd let him go if they're capable, probably
<v Speaker 2>by themselves, if nobody was in there, okay, and just
<v Speaker 2>kind of stand guard at the door maybe and think
<v Speaker 2>maybe keep popping my head in and saying, hey, okay,
<v Speaker 2>everything good. I would just kind of monitor, probably from outside.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know if i'd go fully in.
<v Speaker 1>Well, in the.
<v Speaker 3>Video you can see Tyler. It is a restop, a
<v Speaker 3>gas station. It's at a gas station, so it's at
<v Speaker 3>the bathroom and the gas station. But in the video
<v Speaker 3>you can see Tyler is hoisting his young daughter up
<v Speaker 3>to the sink so she can wash. They need help,
<v Speaker 3>so he's in the bathroom with them. And that is
<v Speaker 3>apparently the problem that this older gentleman has and who's
<v Speaker 3>causing this.
<v Speaker 2>Biggest, an old crotchey man that just wants to get
<v Speaker 2>another people's business.
<v Speaker 5>Yes, it is shut.
<v Speaker 1>There are people taking both sides of this.
<v Speaker 3>There are people who are defending the man's action, saying
<v Speaker 3>he had every right to be upset, and then there
<v Speaker 3>are people defending Tyler and saying he's just being a
<v Speaker 3>girl dad trying to take care of his kid.
<v Speaker 4>They just needed to wash their hands and go to
<v Speaker 4>the bathroom.
<v Speaker 6>Leave.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Now, I will say it was funny off.
<v Speaker 2>The air because we briefly talked about this and we're like,
<v Speaker 2>hold on, let's talk about it more.
<v Speaker 4>On the air. Katie was extremely worried that if the
<v Speaker 4>girls went into the men's restroom, they might see ppding, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>because the like and.
<v Speaker 1>We're not familiar with all, I imagine.
<v Speaker 4>And you guys, you guys, we're just walking around, you know.
<v Speaker 2>And Joshua had to explain, it's like, you're you don't,
<v Speaker 2>you're not seeing pp ding ding.
<v Speaker 4>You're no, you don't know.
<v Speaker 2>You're standing at the urinal and even if there's no divider,
<v Speaker 2>you're staring ahead, You're not, you don't.
<v Speaker 4>And again, and mostly there's a lot of it's just divider.
<v Speaker 5>Ninety nine percent of the time, there are dividers in
<v Speaker 5>there too. I have been in men's restrooms my entire life,
<v Speaker 5>and I've never seen one like genuinely I happen.
<v Speaker 2>I've seen men come in with their kids and their
<v Speaker 2>daughters and just wash hands and stuff, and I've never
<v Speaker 2>thought anything about it. And if they're that young, they're
<v Speaker 2>not going to think twice about what they're seeing or
<v Speaker 2>what's going on. Those girls, No, they're not, though they
<v Speaker 2>are girls, they're not going to think twice about They're
<v Speaker 2>not going to.
<v Speaker 3>But in my mind, I'm like, as a young person,
<v Speaker 3>I mean, I'm sure you guys have had the talk
<v Speaker 3>with your father's when you're in your the urinal. You
<v Speaker 3>look straight, you don't look down, you don't know, you
<v Speaker 3>don't talk like. You've probably had that conversation, so you
<v Speaker 3>know what.
<v Speaker 1>That etiquette is so common sense, so you've done it
<v Speaker 1>a million times.
<v Speaker 3>But I'm sure there was a moment where it was
<v Speaker 3>curious for you too, and you looked, You're.
<v Speaker 2>Like, listen, it only happened once here where a guy
<v Speaker 2>looked he peaked.
<v Speaker 4>I'm not even joking about that.
<v Speaker 2>And he was a really tall guy and we were
<v Speaker 2>standing at the urinals and he peeked over and I was.
<v Speaker 4>Like, did you just peek?
<v Speaker 3>I was like, you peek's peak is like for a
<v Speaker 3>woman like I had no idea.
<v Speaker 1>I thought you guys just peaked all the time.
<v Speaker 2>You guys have no peaking and walked around with it,
<v Speaker 2>you know, out and about and getting fresh air.
<v Speaker 5>Katie. If the girls did need to use the restroom
<v Speaker 5>and not just wash their hands, there are actual stalls
<v Speaker 5>in there, you know, like where they.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I just think if you look at it, if you
<v Speaker 3>look at it from the remiss of how this all
<v Speaker 3>got started, and that was a young father thought it
<v Speaker 3>was okay to go into the women's restroom with his
<v Speaker 3>young daughters to help them out.
<v Speaker 4>And I do think it's nobody in there.
<v Speaker 1>So that's the question, do you think it's okay for.
<v Speaker 3>A guy I think bring his daughters into the women's bathroom?
<v Speaker 4>I one, Now, if.
<v Speaker 2>You're in there, nobody's in there, and you're standing there
<v Speaker 2>waiting and helping, and then women come in.
<v Speaker 3>Then what I do say, I'm here helping. We will
<v Speaker 3>be out in a second, please let me finish up again.
<v Speaker 3>I think women across the board will be like, yes,
<v Speaker 3>we are okay with you bringing your daughter to the restroom.
<v Speaker 1>So that's where I.
<v Speaker 2>Did, just think a normal human with some common sense
<v Speaker 2>and courtesy, you'll be like, hey, I get it, dad,
<v Speaker 2>you know, yes, kudos to you, you know, helping these
<v Speaker 2>girls out. We'll wait just a second exactly.
<v Speaker 3>And so that's kind of where the question was phrased,
<v Speaker 3>is where do you think it's okay should Tyler have
<v Speaker 3>brought his young daughters into the men's restroom?
<v Speaker 5>Well, especially if one was in there either, I mean,
<v Speaker 5>if he if you peep your head in and there's
<v Speaker 5>no one in the men's restroom, just bring your young
<v Speaker 5>daughters in, wash your hands, do whatever. Because I'm kind
<v Speaker 5>of on chair side, Like, yeah, I would have probably
<v Speaker 5>just peaked my head because I have sisters and I
<v Speaker 5>remember when we were very young, my dad would take
<v Speaker 5>them in, you know, if it was with my dad,
<v Speaker 5>or I would go to the women's restroom with my mom,
<v Speaker 5>like when I was very young. And again, like he said,
<v Speaker 5>it never occurred to me that it was weird or anything.
<v Speaker 5>I was just with my parent using the restroom. So
<v Speaker 5>I think that's what you say.
<v Speaker 4>He's sitting down all the time. I didn't even know
<v Speaker 4>you could stand up of peaking with Josh because he's extended.
<v Speaker 5>I'm in the stall.
<v Speaker 4>We got Patty, Emily and VICKI.
<v Speaker 2>We'll try to quickly work through these three calls. Hi Patty, Hi,
<v Speaker 2>Hey you what are your thoughts about this?
<v Speaker 7>Well?
<v Speaker 8>I think either they I think it was writing to do.
<v Speaker 8>You know, these kids are little, they don't know what's
<v Speaker 8>going on, and there's a lot of strange people out there,
<v Speaker 8>and we have to protect them. You are there their
<v Speaker 8>protector as a parent. No matter what you have to do,
<v Speaker 8>you do what you need to do. This is what
<v Speaker 8>got to wake up parents living in the fourteen hundred. God, okay,
<v Speaker 8>and I'm living if anything, get yourself. You know, if
<v Speaker 8>they complain, and so much complain, then they need to
<v Speaker 8>have more family friendly bathrooms.
<v Speaker 4>They do.
<v Speaker 2>Those family changing rooms are just game changers. You ever
<v Speaker 2>snuck into one by yourself phone with a bread out,
<v Speaker 2>you put my hands on the walls, or you just
<v Speaker 2>spread out? Thank you, Patty very wise?
<v Speaker 4>Hi, Emili, Hi, hey girl? All right? What do you
<v Speaker 4>thought your thoughts on this hand washing story?
<v Speaker 5>So?
<v Speaker 7>I remember when I was around six or seven, I
<v Speaker 7>remember my dad taking me into a men's restroom and
<v Speaker 7>it scarred me for years. I like, it freaked me out.
<v Speaker 7>I was so nervous. There are so many men, I
<v Speaker 7>thought way too much, and I'll never forget it. I
<v Speaker 7>would never ever let my like my daughters go into
<v Speaker 7>the men's trosture at this point.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, you were six and you remember that.
<v Speaker 4>Seven? Yeah, what was good keeping? Radio friendly? But what
<v Speaker 4>the hell was going on in that bathroom? What what
<v Speaker 4>were you seeing? I mean, I just I'm not familiar
<v Speaker 4>with this. I've been into a lot of men's rooms,
<v Speaker 4>you know, just.
<v Speaker 7>Very very crowded. There was probably like it was one
<v Speaker 7>of those trough like giant giant restrooms, and I just
<v Speaker 7>remember seeing men everywhere and I'm little and I have
<v Speaker 7>no idea what's happening, and it was very aggressive.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, and I don't like that.
<v Speaker 2>If I were to go in there with my daughter
<v Speaker 2>and there was that many dudes in there, I'd be like, no,
<v Speaker 2>we're going to find another option.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>I don't like that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, Emily, So you're against it
<v Speaker 2>or wait, what are your So you're okay with this
<v Speaker 2>dad going into the women's Yeah.
<v Speaker 7>Absolutely. If I'm in the women's restroom and I see
<v Speaker 7>a dad with his daughters, I'm like.
<v Speaker 8>Good on you.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, all right, because it's about keeping the kids comfortable, right.
<v Speaker 3>I think that's the best part of what this dad
<v Speaker 3>did is he knew that he would probably get some
<v Speaker 3>flack or at least expected it. But I mean he
<v Speaker 3>was trying to help his daughters out in this moment, which,
<v Speaker 3>as we can see from Emily, I'm glad he did it.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, Emily, thank you so much for the call. Really
<v Speaker 2>appreciate you. Let's wrap things up with Vicky, Hi, viky Hi,
<v Speaker 2>y'all fired.
<v Speaker 4>Up right now?
<v Speaker 6>VICKI no, I think that old guy needs to chill.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, don't joke.
<v Speaker 2>That's the bottom line of this story, right, like buzz off, dude,
<v Speaker 2>that guy's he needs a good old fashioned throat punch.
<v Speaker 4>I think as well.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, when I tested it, I said, you know, I
<v Speaker 6>know some of the colleges now the dorms are completely
<v Speaker 6>co ed. Oh like yeah, it's all boy girl it
<v Speaker 6>doesn't matter. And like the shower and the stalls are
<v Speaker 6>all floor to ceiling covered so you don't see anything.
<v Speaker 6>The sink area is a co ed and they keeps
<v Speaker 6>are fine with it. The parents thought, you know, it's
<v Speaker 6>a little whatever. But I don't want to name the
<v Speaker 6>schools because I don't want anything that's college for the
<v Speaker 6>little girls, for the little old I think it's better
<v Speaker 6>that the dad takes hurt them into the women's room versus.
<v Speaker 2>That's now, let me ask you, Vicky, Uh, you walk in,
<v Speaker 2>there's this dad in there washing the hands of the girls.
<v Speaker 4>What do you say?
<v Speaker 5>What do you do?
<v Speaker 6>I would say, that's fine. I'm a mom, and I'm like, yeah,
<v Speaker 6>I get it, you know, go go for it, especially
<v Speaker 6>especially if the rest of it was empty. When he
<v Speaker 6>went in. It was like, yeah, he's going to do
<v Speaker 6>his thing with the kids. He's not doing anything. He's
<v Speaker 6>just washing his kid's hand.
<v Speaker 7>He's a dad.
<v Speaker 6>Do you do at home?
<v Speaker 7>You know what I mean?
<v Speaker 6>When do you do at home? You have co ed
<v Speaker 6>bathrooms at home?
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, well I thought for sure you'd say you'd
<v Speaker 2>walk in and just go to a stall and just
<v Speaker 2>tear it up.
<v Speaker 4>I thought that's what you were going to say.
<v Speaker 6>If I still just go and do my business, yeah,
<v Speaker 6>if I have to go to SAT.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, that'll teach you theim get in there and tear
<v Speaker 4>it up.
<v Speaker 6>Thank you for there.
<v Speaker 4>It's fine.
<v Speaker 1>I'm glad that you're a good dude. Girls, girls just
