[SPEAKER_05]: it's only the beginning and now here's Mike boy it's nice to hear that makes now you did a nice job with that Rob.
[SPEAKER_05]: I see a lot of laughing at Josh's scream at the beginning.
[SPEAKER_05]: Welcome to the Michael Mary's Show for a Monday I'm glad to be here because outside of here the
[SPEAKER_05]: the man is getting me down the man is getting me down the man the man the wearing me out I'll talk about it later in the show.
[SPEAKER_05]: I won't burden you with the navigues.
[SPEAKER_05]: We have a guest coming up but oh my god
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm wondering at a certain point is it me, but that's another story because I lead today with joy because Rob's V-Wack contacted our first guest and was successful in getting this gentleman to come on the show along with his partner.
[SPEAKER_05]: and we could not be more thrilled because I discovered this person for this show and brought it to you guys and you guys liked him and his partner as much as I did and that's why we are thrilled before we before we bring him in a little clip on what I like to call the internet's
[SPEAKER_03]: Penny can welcome to my thrifted home here in Broho with Beach Delaware.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is Saturday.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're back from our trip to Columbus and everybody's out of town pretty much.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we're going to the club tonight and meet a relative of Dave's and not last year.
[SPEAKER_03]: David, last year.
[SPEAKER_03]: That will be interesting.
[SPEAKER_03]: He had found us online and they've been communicating.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm wearing my green sear sucker jacket.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love the green shirt that I love.
[SPEAKER_03]: The green works for you.
[SPEAKER_03]: And my wonderful green shoes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, the boat shoes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I love his shoes.
[SPEAKER_03]: They fit me perfectly.
[SPEAKER_03]: We had a kind of cold out that they closed and I was very disappointed because I liked his shoes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see, what day is it?
[SPEAKER_05]: Let's see what day is wearing?
[SPEAKER_05]: Come on in, Dave.
[SPEAKER_05]: Let's see.
[SPEAKER_05]: Let's see.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're wearing our silver jewelry and our.
[SPEAKER_03]: Our teeny pin.
[SPEAKER_03]: He is wearing the green stripe,
[SPEAKER_03]: shirt also currently white pants but now you and you normally in crime jabs so all I can say is
[SPEAKER_03]: Bob's your uncle, but have a wonderful day.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh my, Rob gets excited when we have guests.
[SPEAKER_06]: Let's bring my, you're a hypersensitive.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, Larry, Larry Pennington and let's bring in David last year as well, gentlemen, thank you so much for making the time to come in on this show and I got to tell you
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know how it came across my feed, my algorithm, but it was there, and I started watching every single day.
[SPEAKER_05]: I wanted to see what Larry was wearing, and then I wanted David to make his entrance and come in here.
[SPEAKER_05]: Welcome to the Michael Mary Show fellas.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for having us.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's great to have you here and I'm going to tell you that, you know, being I'm 67 years of age and I will tell you that I am challenged by technology, but I live in the midst of technology.
[SPEAKER_05]: So I think of people of a certain age as running away from technology and here you go, Larry
[SPEAKER_05]: Larry and David.
[SPEAKER_05]: Larry, you have embraced it.
[SPEAKER_05]: You are making a name for yourself.
[SPEAKER_05]: You are putting out content almost every day and we are thrilled to have you.
[SPEAKER_05]: Where I'll start with you, Larry.
[SPEAKER_05]: Where did you get the thought?
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, come in and do this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Our house in Florida was completely, when we bought it, we everything was sourced from antique shops and second-hand shops and consignment shops.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I wanted to do
[SPEAKER_03]: episodes about my thrifted home.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we sold that house before I ever started.
[SPEAKER_03]: So then I decided, well, I just start we dress every night and go out to dinner every week.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I decided we start doing outfit of the day and then I do some also do some decorating hacks and thrifting whole sort of things.
[SPEAKER_03]: And a lot of our things here are also thrifted or inherited.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, you answered my first question because I was going to ask you right away what the thrifted home means and it means that you, you know, you go out and you find antique stores and you furnish your home that way.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now, do you get, when you talk about your thrifted home, do you also occasionally find thrifted clothing that you wear?
[SPEAKER_03]: Especially in Florida, a lot of like the shirt I have on right now, I thrift it in Florida, the market there is just a standing people move to the villages.
[SPEAKER_03]: They bring all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: Then they decide they don't need it or somebody does and the family just disposes of everything.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I get a lot of really fine things there.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, we are checking in on you at least a couple of times per week to find out what's going on.
[SPEAKER_05]: When did you perceive that you might have a little following?
[SPEAKER_05]: Obviously you get the numbers when you look at it, but were you surprised at the number of people that kind of tracked with what you were doing?
[SPEAKER_03]: And it started growing very fast and then I had just really started and 3,500,000 people looked at one of my posts.
[SPEAKER_03]: New York Times style section did an article, Newsweek did an article, Tamron Hall wanted the honor show, we were out of cruise, couldn't do it, and my 15 minutes of fame expired, they didn't call back.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh no, well they should because I've I've just discovered you recently and I'm I'm captivated as well and You have been David you two have been married how long how long you guys been together
[SPEAKER_02]: 22 years.
[SPEAKER_02]: Mary and 22 to the other 32 now.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: So you've been together for a very long time as far as you got the New York Times paying attention to this.
[SPEAKER_05]: What about locally when you're in Rehobe, or you're in for and did you say you live in the villages?
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: And then.
[SPEAKER_05]: Wow, that's that's can be I don't know.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm a Floridian down here in Fort Myers, but I will tell you the villages You know from what I read occasionally kind of a whack-a-doodle little location down there Larry
[SPEAKER_03]: It can't be, but I must say they're very nice to us.
[SPEAKER_03]: We dance, we met ballroom dancing, we dance in the square.
[SPEAKER_03]: The only thing they say is you're such good dancers, we never get any criticism, we never get any blowback on that.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I get recognized there, I get recognized here.
[SPEAKER_03]: We just came back from Columbus, I got recognized in Columbus.
[SPEAKER_03]: It seems everywhere we go.
[SPEAKER_03]: wind up and I was actually like had a little episode recently and ended up in the emergency room and the nurse came and he was going to wheel me up to a room and he said, you look from milieu.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I said, are you want Tick Toki?
[SPEAKER_03]: He said, oh, you're Larry, Penny can not follow.
[SPEAKER_03]: We got to the room.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a white board in the room and the nurses are written.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're your number fault one fans.
[SPEAKER_03]: We love you.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's great.
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know what I, I, I, I track with it because I think, uh, I remember my dad.
[SPEAKER_05]: and like he would go to a football game with me and he would be wearing uh... when he was going casual he would be wearing the blue blazer with the blue button down and the gray flannels and and that i mean people in the day used to dress if you go through any airport now
[SPEAKER_05]: and we talk about it on this show all the time you see people in their pajamas uh... thank you for keeping a little style alive and out of the out of the week how many times do you guys go out it seems like gets constant we know we go out every night every night every doctor's for cocktails week we sometimes eat out or we bring the food back from there we used to cook but we no longer see any point in cooking
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, all right, so it's the club or I think I could almost remember them by now We have lots of good restaurants and we're hoping lots of good restaurants and I've seen one clip where you had a giant party Where everybody was really compared to you guys everybody looked a little underdressed Oh, you know, do you ever see the pendulum Larry swinging back where people will
[SPEAKER_03]: We have our fingers crossed and that will happen and our friends, especially our friends at the country club, they do dress up not quite as much, but they will wear jackets shirts and nice sports jackets and things so we are in a group that does dress.
[SPEAKER_05]: Rob, I'm monopolizing the conversation.
[SPEAKER_05]: You take the word.
[SPEAKER_06]: Obviously, it had to be rewarding when you saw over three million views of one video that you did, but when you set out to do it, what's it here?
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, they can't hear Rob.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, no.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, no.
[SPEAKER_06]: If you could relay this, is it, did they set out to get views or did they set out to make us look better?
[SPEAKER_05]: Did you set out to get views on your TikTok or did you set out to make the world dress better?
[SPEAKER_03]: I just wanted this outlet and it suddenly just blew up.
[SPEAKER_03]: I had no time at all.
[SPEAKER_03]: I had 200,000.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now I've got 271,000 followers.
[SPEAKER_03]: It just took off.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was crazy.
[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't.
[SPEAKER_03]: And one thing, there's no politics on it.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's no drama.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: it's something soothing that people can see every evening.
[SPEAKER_05]: It is, it is and we need it.
[SPEAKER_05]: We need more of that and I just realize as we're sitting here talking to you, that David Lassher has a striking resemblance to an actor.
[SPEAKER_05]: Rob, can you guess the actor?
[SPEAKER_05]: I think since they can't hear you, I'll say it for you.
[SPEAKER_05]: He looks like Ed Harris.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, Ed Harris, Danny, can you talk about that all the time?
[SPEAKER_06]: He's better dressed than Ed Harris, but yeah, he does look like him.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now, in your previous lives, before you slow down and, uh, you know, retired to Florida and now Rehobe, uh, what, uh, what line of work were you guys in?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I taught for 43 years, but Dave was in the Air Force for 25 on Air Force 1 for 11 years.
[SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they crew that maintain the auto pilot for Reagan and the first Bush.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, that, that's a, what did you teach when you were teaching David?
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, well, after my retirement, and therefore, I got a degree in counseling, school counseling.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, you were excited.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I meant to say, Larry, what did you teach when you were teaching?
[SPEAKER_03]: I taught first grade, I taught special way, I taught in an autism program and I taught American history at the high school for 10 years, most recently.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now, I was telling people on the show last week of the week before that, really one of the prettiest beach towns in America is a robot with beach, how long you've been there.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've had a house here since 1979.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I get from houses.
[SPEAKER_03]: We built this house as a vacation house, but with the idea of retiring, so we have no steps.
[SPEAKER_05]: No steps at all.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's the that's the way we do it down here in Florida.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know that right trash as far and by the way having a 12-year-old son I think I almost died in the garage this weekend and that was just a little table that was put down there as far and now the biggest question I have and I will end with this the Bob's your uncle
[SPEAKER_05]: That first of all, I just wait for you to say it and I would not be satisfied if you didn't say it, but I have not researched it and I have no earthly idea what it means.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's an English expression that means there you have it for voila.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: At the end of what I'm doing it's.
[SPEAKER_03]: Bob, you're uncle.
[SPEAKER_03]: There you have it.
[SPEAKER_05]: That is awesome.
[SPEAKER_05]: And do you have any style advice from either one of you gentlemen that you would like to share with our very wide demographic here.
[SPEAKER_05]: If we'd like to say from the womb to the tomb, we have listeners.
[SPEAKER_05]: Anything you'd like to share before we let you guys go.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're not confused.
[SPEAKER_03]: Bootbar clothing with streetwear.
[SPEAKER_03]: Bingo.
[SPEAKER_03]: Bingo.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_05]: that that is for comments.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, I love that.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's great.
[SPEAKER_05]: Larry Pennington, David Lacher.
[SPEAKER_05]: We are fans wanted to get you on here.
[SPEAKER_05]: We're so glad you took the time at your thrifted home in Rahovith to join us and keep making the contact.
[SPEAKER_05]: We'll keep looking for you, okay?
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, oh, they got the hats.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, oh, hey, hey, hey, I'm sure I'm having a wonderful day.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's nice.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's awesome.
[SPEAKER_05]: There they go.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's fun, huh?
[SPEAKER_05]: That's a good guy.
[SPEAKER_05]: So nice.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's the thing about the internet.
[SPEAKER_05]: It can be anybody for any reason at any time.
[SPEAKER_05]: Just two guys to dress up and go out there.
[SPEAKER_05]: And what he was saying is, essentially, you don't wear your pajamas on the plane.
[SPEAKER_06]: remember he said in the New York Times he doesn't understand sweatpants and I think that's solid and you know what a curse on the Tamron Hall production staff to not call him back.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, man was on vacation.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, maybe we'll get more John.
[SPEAKER_07]: I can do you know I see a request in the chat room that for the crews we have a Larry Pettington night where we also
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I love that idea.
[SPEAKER_05]: That is great.
[SPEAKER_05]: I will throw a jacket on apps.
[SPEAKER_05]: So who?
[SPEAKER_05]: And a shirt under it, my seat.
[SPEAKER_05]: Where shirt under it.
[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't promise that in an invite to literary as well.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's good.
[SPEAKER_05]: I love that.
[SPEAKER_05]: Welcome to the show, gentlemen.
[SPEAKER_05]: It is, uh, it is a day today where I, two things happened today that just warm me up early early on.
[SPEAKER_06]: I was that interview.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, no, the interview was fun.
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm kidding, of course.
[SPEAKER_05]: But...
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, the HVAC, I got a split unit in my garage and I've got a main AC unit that's been on and off.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: It, we heated up a little bit over the weekend, but uh, you remember I had the bad time, the last time the HVAC guy was out and he didn't suck out the goo from the condensation line.
[SPEAKER_06]: When you, when you say you heated up a little bit this weekend, what was the external?
[SPEAKER_06]: What was the outside temperature?
[SPEAKER_05]: No.
[SPEAKER_05]: going to go there because you always say, no, I'm just going to be more than that.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, I'm not.
[SPEAKER_06]: I promise not to bring that out.
[SPEAKER_05]: It was in the place and it was 77 inside the house.
[SPEAKER_06]: And it was to warm.
[SPEAKER_06]: That's way to warm.
[SPEAKER_06]: That is.
[SPEAKER_05]: It was removing the humidity, too, or the guy, the guy that came out last time was the guy that I believe with all of my soul that he did not suck out the line when he was supposed to suck out the line.
[SPEAKER_05]: And he did the second time, right?
[SPEAKER_05]: I've been pointed him into man that he sucks first thing Nice and put your mouth on that thing
[SPEAKER_05]: The first thing I did, the first thing I did this morning was I called the place where I didn't like the guy.
[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't like him at all, didn't like one thing about him.
[SPEAKER_05]: And you're not when he came into the house.
[SPEAKER_05]: I told you about that.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, thank you.
[SPEAKER_07]: And so you paid for the like warranty or service plan.
[SPEAKER_07]: I paid for the service plan.
[SPEAKER_05]: So I called canceled the service plan.
[SPEAKER_05]: They gave me a bit of a dab to have that.
[SPEAKER_05]: I said I just want to cancel that.
[SPEAKER_05]: We have to have that as I just want to cancel, blah, blah.
[SPEAKER_05]: So, you know, they never tell you, okay, your cancel, they say, we will submit this, bought a bought a bought it.
[SPEAKER_05]: And then did my little search for another company to come out and check it out.
[SPEAKER_05]: And so I go to my friends at AI, and I put in truth mode, which is a little hack that I got from
[SPEAKER_05]: No, but, but AI will, AI will, if you're looking for records and you're looking for businesses, they are likely to
[SPEAKER_05]: They are likely to share with you the same type of people that would be shared on Google.
[SPEAKER_06]: And as you know, you can manipulate Google to put yourself like first, like when you do a Google search if you're not looking, you're going to see up top sponsored hits.
[SPEAKER_06]: And those are the people that have paid to be at top.
[SPEAKER_06]: So truth mode sort of eliminates that.
[SPEAKER_05]: And they do a deep dive with the reviews and such.
[SPEAKER_05]: But I don't know.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think it's probably bullshit as well.
[SPEAKER_05]: I call this company because they specialize in the product that is in my garage and I decide I'd have them come out and as soon as the guy arrives, I'm like, you know, I know instantaneously I'm not going into this with a chip on my shoulder.
[SPEAKER_05]: I am the polar opposite.
[SPEAKER_05]: I am looking for a good experience, right?
[SPEAKER_05]: You want it to be good and this mad is halfway up the driveway and I know already.
[SPEAKER_05]: What's the story?
[SPEAKER_05]: What's the story?
[SPEAKER_05]: What's the story?
[SPEAKER_05]: What's the story?
[SPEAKER_05]: The dead eyes.
[SPEAKER_05]: The eye hate everything I do.
[SPEAKER_05]: Look.
[SPEAKER_05]: The, uh, I explained to him what the deal is with the split.
[SPEAKER_05]: He in his hand has a service contract.
[SPEAKER_06]: Ready to go.
[SPEAKER_06]: Of course.
[SPEAKER_05]: That is the first thing.
[SPEAKER_06]: That is the first thing he hands to me.
[SPEAKER_06]: Mike, have you ever had automobile trouble in a really small town, say a town that's like a adjacent to 95?
[SPEAKER_06]: Not kind of like the movies or anything like that, but I mean, I have pulled into a service station and they are ready to rebuild your engine right away.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, because they're ready to jump on the opportunity, and I think it's probably the same way.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I...
[SPEAKER_05]: I think nowadays much like buying a car or going out to look for anything we have at our disposal, a lot of information and I think that makes it a little bit easier, but this guy but it doesn't change attitudes and the attitude is
[SPEAKER_05]: such that I'm getting a little of the, well, we really can only make one service call per unit.
[SPEAKER_05]: I said, yeah, because doing it in any other way would not be fucking over the consumer, because you're gonna make a separate trip back instead of just taking a peek at the other unit just to make sure they're both functioning.
[SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_07]: So, I get, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I service company now in America is obsessed every owner of every company is obsessed with RMR, recurring monthly revenue.
[SPEAKER_07]: And that's why they're all pushing these service plans because they just make money for them not doing anything And do you push that when you're installing remote controls, Josh?
[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, uh, I can't believe that I quit part of that was the RMR transition.
[SPEAKER_07]: And I was okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: recurring monthly revenue.
[SPEAKER_05]: We've learned a new term and I think that's interesting.
[SPEAKER_05]: Makes perfect sense.
[SPEAKER_05]: The little unit that cools the garage and it was at a time we were doing a show from the garage and that's why we had that put in.
[SPEAKER_05]: But I'm still for Jake now, Jake can live in the jungle Josh he's I think a snake from you know The the great Amazon for us or something like that.
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know, but it's so we go I have him finally I might well You if you have time you can take a look at the big unit, but I just don't want to argue and he's got the dead eyes So no count take a look at
[SPEAKER_05]: And then I said, okay, if you need anything, uh, just knock on the door and I will see.
[SPEAKER_05]: And he goes off and does this thing and, uh, I don't bother with it.
[SPEAKER_05]: I just go back to the computer and then, and then I hear the door sensor go on, where he has now just like the other guy.
[SPEAKER_05]: walked into my home.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now he told him, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
[SPEAKER_05]: is shot and I said, can I look at he said, okay, he said, I have checked and it appears that this thing is under warranty.
[SPEAKER_05]: We can do the paperwork and get that item covered by a warranty.
[SPEAKER_05]: So that's it.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's, well, that's a win.
[SPEAKER_05]: And he said, right, but it's it does not cover labor.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I immediately go and I said, okay, to unscrew that motor, unplug it and plug it back in,
[SPEAKER_05]: I was expecting 200 bucks.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, in some places, I'm sure it is.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, man.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely.
[SPEAKER_05]: And at this point on my, that's outrageous.
[SPEAKER_05]: I said.
[SPEAKER_05]: By the way, I went inside and I researched it.
[SPEAKER_05]: The part, yeah, is anywhere from about 168 bucks to 324 bucks.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's where we are with that.
[SPEAKER_06]: And did you say what I would have said is, and so, why is it warranted?
[SPEAKER_06]: What does the warranty cover then?
[SPEAKER_06]: Because obviously, it's still going to cost me $400.
[SPEAKER_06]: So what's our next move here?
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, the next move for me was, well, I'm going to cancel the service plan that I just signed up for.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I will pay your visit fee, you know, your, your diagnostic fee.
[SPEAKER_05]: It can be a trip fee, a diagnostic.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm learning this.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm learning all of it.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm learning all of this works.
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm going to convenience, Charlie.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_07]: Well, once, once gas prices went up.
[SPEAKER_07]: every one now has trip charges, you know, because they want to pay to come you out.
[SPEAKER_07]: It also was why they say now with AI taken over everything.
[SPEAKER_07]: You want to be a plumber and HVAC guy or an electrician.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: And because they're future because they will price gadget and so I refused the repair.
[SPEAKER_05]: Settlement is my merry way when he react to that.
[SPEAKER_06]: I imagine again, that eyes, right?
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, not for him.
[SPEAKER_07]: He doesn't care.
[SPEAKER_07]: He doesn't care.
[SPEAKER_07]: His false cares.
[SPEAKER_07]: He doesn't
[SPEAKER_06]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_05]: Even carrot all doesn't.
[SPEAKER_05]: What am I listening to?
[SPEAKER_05]: I heard something.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think he's outside.
[SPEAKER_06]: No.
[SPEAKER_06]: I really was.
[SPEAKER_06]: Sound of a warranty contract.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I said, okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_05]: And he goes on a side.
[SPEAKER_05]: And then I get online.
[SPEAKER_05]: While he apparently is still filling out his rip off paperwork in the driveway.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I look and I see that.
[SPEAKER_05]: that in certain, with certain companies, the trip fee will be taken out of the repair cost.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I said, so I go out there, I said, by the way, it says here, if I agree to do the repair with you guys, the trip fee will go towards the repair cost.
[SPEAKER_05]: You said, you said, well, that would be if we had the part on the truck,
[SPEAKER_05]: That's the world we live in folks.
[SPEAKER_05]: That is the world we live in right now.
[SPEAKER_05]: And so nothing is going to keep them from... You wouldn't leave shock to that they've been there for a hundred and two.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I asked him, by the way, I said, how long does it take to do that repair?
[SPEAKER_05]: Because I looked at it, and you would not believe how simple it is.
[SPEAKER_05]: We're not talking about it.
[SPEAKER_05]: And he said, I don't know, I don't know, I don't have.
[SPEAKER_05]: He said, oh, yeah, okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: So is that include lunch?
[SPEAKER_06]: it's just it's it is what it is it you know yes I'm there and let the room cool make sure it actually cools down the room I'm genuinely shocked they didn't have some piece of shit fan on the truck because that's another move is to make you be certain that you buy the part from them yeah one of the greatest parts I ever broke
[SPEAKER_06]: was when a plumber said, Oh, I have.
[SPEAKER_06]: I just happened to have a new garbage disposal on the truck.
[SPEAKER_06]: I can install it for you today.
[SPEAKER_06]: I said, So funny.
[SPEAKER_06]: You would say that.
[SPEAKER_06]: I went to Home Depot this morning.
[SPEAKER_06]: And also bought a garbage disposal.
[SPEAKER_06]: And I pulled it out from behind the counter said, Well, you installed this one for me.
[SPEAKER_06]: And he's like, Well, yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so that's where I left it with them and that's where the, and then my kid goes off on his e-bike around the neighborhood and you know, and he, his phone's not working, so I can't keep tabs on him so it was just a bit of an unrewarding Monday morning, but you know, it's unrewarding.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I agree finding a mom and pop that is the challenge, but even with these hard, it's really hard.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's really hard to pop is selling out because people, these big companies are offering so much money, right?
[SPEAKER_07]: Because of that RMR.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's craziness.
[SPEAKER_06]: They're buying off the competition.
[SPEAKER_06]: So they can get all the money.
[SPEAKER_05]: So down the road, here is the plan.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I literally looked at the thing.
[SPEAKER_05]: I literally looked at it.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I said,
[SPEAKER_05]: There are a few bolts down on the floor of this thing, slips out, unscrew the other bolts, take them all around, put it back in, attach it to the fan, attach it to the electrical circuit board.
[SPEAKER_05]: Is it like with the power turned off, of course?
[SPEAKER_06]: Is it like a junction box that clips in or do you have to do any soldering or wiring?
[SPEAKER_05]: Looks like a clips in.
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, well, that's cool.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: I will tell you know, because this is on the heels of me changing out a breaker.
[SPEAKER_05]: And my electrical box, which I was pretty proud of, I did not electrocute myself.
[SPEAKER_05]: So it's happy to hear that.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_07]: I would love for you to make these as TikTok videos.
[SPEAKER_07]: Like when I'm doing this, you'd be in a handyman.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, I would rather have a TikTok video if you talk into the dead I guy.
[SPEAKER_05]: that would be more than the right glasses for that I have to get the glasses judge can come yeah so uh... you know was doing uh... you know doing the little power washing outside this weekend and that's where it was real satisfied and i went from a really satisfying weekend of that you know having a breaker the blue replacing the breaker
[SPEAKER_05]: And then, you know, getting firing up the old electric power washer again, and then getting the right cleaning solution that killed the green smeg that was all over my, my umbrella and I was usually come up and do the reflecting pool.
[SPEAKER_05]: I am a simple man with a simple task that is now happening in my financial situation too.
[SPEAKER_05]: do it yourself which by the way you're gonna get home owners they're gonna be so much more handy bigger than everybody is doing this because they are it is larceny it is it is had a grandfather it's well in some cases grand larceny it is yeah by the way they the the overall cost for one of these systems do you know what the markup is it's it's it's mind-numbing for the big ones that they put in a house with all the work and stuff
[SPEAKER_06]: Mike, will you entertain a question?
[SPEAKER_06]: I will indeed.
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, so when you say you replaced a breaker, this is the switch, like a circuit breaker switch that you had to come out and put this in, can you walk us through that briefly or not so briefly?
[SPEAKER_06]: Cause I've never even attempted a repair like that.
[SPEAKER_05]: So here it is, the scary part is,
[SPEAKER_05]: that if you're not a trained electrician, that you look, you're taking the risk yourself, but if you shut the power off to the main breaker box, you know, all your power goes out, and you, you know, you don't have on the lower breakers.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now, you don't want to mess with the top where the electricity is coming.
[SPEAKER_05]: The top is still hot.
[SPEAKER_05]: So the top is still hot.
[SPEAKER_05]: You don't want to mess with anything there.
[SPEAKER_07]: But you have to open it up completely.
[SPEAKER_07]: You have to get all those wires are exposed.
[SPEAKER_05]: When Josh is talking about opening up completely, every breaker box.
[SPEAKER_05]: So you see him in every house.
[SPEAKER_05]: And it's that little gray box.
[SPEAKER_05]: And you open the door up and then you get in there.
[SPEAKER_05]: And that's where your breakers are.
[SPEAKER_05]: You have to take that off.
[SPEAKER_05]: So I take that off.
[SPEAKER_06]: How nervous were you?
[SPEAKER_06]: uh, nervous until I uh, you know, I, until I put my tongue on the circuit.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, like, I hope you didn't do it.
[SPEAKER_05]: To make sure it was a once I knew it was, uh, it wasn't live.
[SPEAKER_05]: I knew it anyway because I'd shut the power off the main, the main on.
[SPEAKER_06]: I was in Florida the building code.
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know if this has changed, but I know in the 80s this was the way it was.
[SPEAKER_06]: You're not allowed to use insulated wire.
[SPEAKER_06]: So all the wires in a house in Florida is just bear coppers.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's still like that.
[SPEAKER_05]: It is not.
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, so it's a wire.
[SPEAKER_06]: The wires were covered.
[SPEAKER_07]: We're getting now have the ground in wire in Florida.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, that's optional.
[SPEAKER_05]: So as Josh says, you take the breaker by and by the way, Josh way in.
[SPEAKER_05]: If anything strikes you as odd or I take the I take the whole cover off and I identify what the breaker was.
[SPEAKER_06]: 13 called lucky 13 now be bad luck fine, and was it a GFI breaker?
[SPEAKER_07]: It was not a GFI break.
[SPEAKER_06]: Is that the one that goes into a wet environment where there's a button that pops on those?
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, if there's a little surge it'll pop and you gotta go reset it.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it doesn't go into a wet environment though
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, no, no, you will find a GFI breaker in a kitchen or a bathroom or a garage.
[SPEAKER_06]: Please, please, be more watermelons.
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: We're wanted to cause a short.
[SPEAKER_05]: The wet environment, you know, I was at American University and we don't have any time for that right now.
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, and you're talking about wet environments.
[SPEAKER_06]: I understand.
[SPEAKER_05]: I go, uh,
[SPEAKER_05]: And you've got to kind of wiggle it out because it's got a little hook on it where it's seats.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's not on it.
[SPEAKER_05]: But you've got to sort of wiggle it to slide it out and I do that.
[SPEAKER_05]: And then your work is not done because you have to unscrew where the wire is connected to the breaker.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I do that.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm off.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm off to the ace.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'll give you the response I got at the
[SPEAKER_06]: Don't have it the place for the help for hardware folk, and you know it's my favorite hardware So yeah, you've been seeing their praises for several hurricanes now.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it goes back many weather events Then it's off to the home to pot not a fan never been a fan don't like it But I go thinking maybe they'll have that
[SPEAKER_05]: They don't have it.
[SPEAKER_05]: They sent me to, they didn't send me to Lowe's.
[SPEAKER_05]: I go to Lowe's last chance, and Lord Almighty.
[SPEAKER_05]: There they go.
[SPEAKER_05]: They keep that particular breaker, that particular product.
[SPEAKER_05]: They have it in stock.
[SPEAKER_05]: Lowe's is sort of...
[SPEAKER_06]: It's less glamorous than your home depot, but I think Lowe's is better for product.
[SPEAKER_06]: I think it's more...
[SPEAKER_07]: It's more glamorous than Home Depot.
[SPEAKER_07]: Home Depot is where the contractors go.
[SPEAKER_07]: Lowe's is like a step above ace for the homeowner.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, and I like it.
[SPEAKER_05]: I like loads.
[SPEAKER_05]: I because they are helpful and I get it and then it's back home and put out the fire.
[SPEAKER_05]: I told Carla that the main would be off for, you know, until we get back and we reinstall everything.
[SPEAKER_06]: And so she's without carrying headphones screaming.
[SPEAKER_06]: I got it.
[SPEAKER_05]: I want to see the car that can't get into a casino That's why you told her to get a manual slot machine from 1984 Exactly and slide it in Throw the switch Bob's your uncle bingo bango, but then the tensest moment when you threw the switch
[SPEAKER_05]: yeah cuz it's uh... the same circuit is the refrigerator in the garage and so i look over at that to see if the powers on and it worked work and then i went out to uh... finished my powers job at the trip the breaker again and then i simply said uh... obviously i'm overloading this i will take another outlet and i will plug it into another outlet which is what i did i think that was the right thing to do right Josh that if it's tripping tripping tripping tripping tripping
[SPEAKER_05]: Although I used to be four, uh, just, you know, who knows what it's connected to.
[SPEAKER_05]: Bob's your uncle.
[SPEAKER_06]: Maybe I have too many things in the fridge.
[SPEAKER_05]: You could never have too much in the fridge.
[SPEAKER_06]: I know actually, I was just being silly.
[SPEAKER_05]: Although I brought my, uh, a lot of my cans of Guinness to Mirzy's house and they stayed there because I ended up drinking a pink drink.
[SPEAKER_06]: Pink Guinness?
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, just it was a pink drink with a vodka and rum.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, what made it pink?
[SPEAKER_05]: the base uh... that you get like the public there's there's a pink drink somewhere you can buy it's like a soft drink it's like a fruit juice base okay uh... drink that uh... that the kids like and the adults like and they made like a uh... kind of a punch kind of a punch out of it right is a good in front of a starbucks pink drink uh... short of like that here about a pink drink is starbucks yeah that's uh... pink is
[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, have your pink Guinness.
[SPEAKER_05]: There you go.
[SPEAKER_05]: So really satisfied.
[SPEAKER_05]: Got the job done unbelievable.
[SPEAKER_05]: 30 second cleaner on my umbrella with all the mold on it and phenomenal.
[SPEAKER_05]: Interesting.
[SPEAKER_06]: How are you watching?
[SPEAKER_06]: Did you use some sort of
[SPEAKER_05]: I used the 30-second cleaner on it and sprayed that on your supposed to just hose it off, but I used that with the power washer.
[SPEAKER_06]: Look at it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Which, oh, you wouldn't believe it.
[SPEAKER_05]: You would not believe that how why I didn't do it sooner is beyond me, but brand new.
[SPEAKER_05]: I have a brand new umbrella out there.
[SPEAKER_05]: I am so proud of you.
[SPEAKER_05]: Should have done this.
[SPEAKER_06]: What's that?
[SPEAKER_06]: Should have showed your umbrella to the guy fixing your hair conditioner.
[SPEAKER_06]: I did this kind of look at this.
[SPEAKER_06]: Come here.
[SPEAKER_05]: You get a guy that's, you know, you get Joe Arger coming out and, you know, power washing you deck and then you're not so many great people that have been in the power washing business.
[SPEAKER_06]: We knew one guy on the Eastern Shore who wasn't even qualified to just do things, but he had a power washing business.
[SPEAKER_06]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_06]: And you buy a truck you buy a power washer you're done.
[SPEAKER_06]: and he was, the name of his company was, sure was, and whenever you called his cell phone, he would say, and we'd listen to the message over and over again, because we found it so funny, he'd say, thank you for calling sure wash. All of our representatives are busy right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: All of them, him?
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it worked this weekend and then I ran into the roadblock.
[SPEAKER_05]: So yeah later on, I'll make the determination it looks pretty easy.
[SPEAKER_05]: It looks pretty easy.
[SPEAKER_05]: Pretty pretty easy.
[SPEAKER_05]: We'll see what happens.
[SPEAKER_05]: But I think we'll do it.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think we'll do it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I mean really it's it's larceny and I was not it's not larceny when I'm doing something myself, but now, you know, it's rewarding That's what it is and all there is is risk of electrocution and a tiny risk of a serious fall other than that, you know, I'm fine

[SPEAKER_05]: The tensions between the US and Iran continue to escalate after a brand new round of US military strikes targeted Iranian positions in the region.
[SPEAKER_05]: American officials say the attacks were aimed at military infrastructure and groups linked to recent threats against the US interests.
[SPEAKER_05]: Iran has responded by saying it remains ready to defend itself and has insisted that it's still controlling shipping through the strait of

[SPEAKER_05]: This is driven the prices of air conditioning repairs sky high.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I just get ready for it to be double charge for a trip.
[SPEAKER_05]: For purpose or moose.
[SPEAKER_05]: 84 year old an 84 year old guy he's a Florida man and he is facing serious charges ladies and gentlemen after police say he tried to set his former partner on fire following the end of this 42 year relationship.
[SPEAKER_05]: two years their old authorities say the 84-year-old man in his ex met in a parking lot where police alleged he poured gasoline onto her vehicle and set it up fire.
[SPEAKER_05]: Who can afford that anymore?
[SPEAKER_05]: And he did that, oh by the way, when both of them were still inside of it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yikes.
[SPEAKER_05]: The, uh, one down together.
[SPEAKER_05]: The woman batted to escape and suffered burns to her leg.
[SPEAKER_06]: The suspect also suffered serious burns to his, I'm sad because I bet that lady had great legs.
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, well, his face is damaged and so are her legs.
[SPEAKER_05]: And his hands were bothered to.
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, he was later arrested.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, bother.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, bother my hands, they're oozing.
[SPEAKER_05]: He was later arrested after receiving medical treatment.
[SPEAKER_05]: Police say, I can't believe this.
[SPEAKER_05]: Alcohol, why may have played a role?
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, thank you very much.
[SPEAKER_05]: After 42 years, most people would expect a sad goodbye.
[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe some divided property, not a crime scene involving gasoline.
[SPEAKER_05]: So there it is, Mike.
[SPEAKER_06]: I still think they love each other.
[SPEAKER_06]: Do you?
[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, he came prepared with the gasoline.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, that was thought out ahead of time.
[SPEAKER_05]: Premeditation, uh, teenage Frankenvolving and or bees water pellet gun in Florida, turned into a very real and dangerous situation.
[SPEAKER_05]: Is that a thing?
[SPEAKER_05]: The water pellet gun?
[SPEAKER_07]: or B or B or B is little gels that are tiny these tiny balls, but they soak water and then they get larger.
[SPEAKER_05]: So they hurt when they get heavy with water, I would imagine.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's a little sting.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's not as bad as like a pellet gun or, uh, obviously, same ball gun.
[SPEAKER_06]: But the thing is, is do you have to go and collect up the or B's after the fact?
[SPEAKER_06]: Because they listed the industry art.
[SPEAKER_07]: They disintegrate.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, see Mike, it's great.
[SPEAKER_06]: Or B's loves the environment.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it wasn't great here, Rob.
[SPEAKER_05]: Police say a group of teens accidentally shot the wrong vehicle while playing around the driver of that vehicle, Larry Pennington.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, it wasn't.
[SPEAKER_05]: Sorry, the driver of the vehicle believed he was being attacked.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and decided to take matters into his own hands.
[SPEAKER_05]: Officials say the man followed the teens for God old people hate kids down here.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, they really, now the kids are being assholes.
[SPEAKER_05]: Let's make no mistake.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but I mean, but I'll tell you a quickie about Carla before we go on with this story.
[SPEAKER_05]: Carla working out in the gym.
[SPEAKER_05]: My son's on the treadmill or the stair machine or whatever he's on next to her.
[SPEAKER_05]: She's trying to get his attention.
[SPEAKER_05]: He's got ear buds and one of the ladies in between them say, look over at my wife and say, he doesn't talk.
[SPEAKER_05]: and my wife looked at him and like that at the lady and said yes he does he's my son and then she looks back at my wife and says well some of the kids came in here and vandalize the gym a couple of weeks ago and Carlos says why are you telling me this
[SPEAKER_05]: that's the attitude.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, great.
[SPEAKER_05]: They don't even, they don't even hide it.
[SPEAKER_05]: They don't even hide their malice.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's like go to the 55 or dead community.
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, it would be great if that if she gets a person get an Orby's gun, but soaks the balance and gasoline.
[SPEAKER_06]: There you go.
[SPEAKER_06]: It can't afford it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Or there.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_07]: There was a good story with the Orby's guns last week of kids that got into a
[SPEAKER_07]: and the interior cameras saw what was going, so they just redirected the way out to the police station.
[SPEAKER_07]: That isn't a good thing for a car just drove them straight there.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I love that.
[SPEAKER_05]: So this dude follows the teens forces their vehicle to a stop.
[SPEAKER_05]: He pulls out a loaded handgun and he orders them out of the car before police arrived.
[SPEAKER_05]: The driver is now facing, yeah, of course.
[SPEAKER_05]: The driver's now facing charges, including aggravated assault, false imprisonment.
[SPEAKER_05]: The team involved in the prank also face consequences.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's another example of how something that starts as a joke can turn.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, serious.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, look, don't fuck with people.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's the bottom line.
[SPEAKER_05]: You don't know who's on the other end.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's the way he goes.
[SPEAKER_05]: But the overreaction, now they both go to jail.
[SPEAKER_05]: that's the way I like I hope they don't fight each other in jail with their orbys artificial intelligence is moving beyond the office and into the family room companies like open AI are looking at ways AI can become a part of everyday household life helping with homework organizing family calendars planning meals answering questions and helping people manage their busy lives what's kind of doing that anyway I used it today Mike to try and figure out how to play Majon
[SPEAKER_06]: It's worth it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Living is best life, Josh.
[SPEAKER_07]: He's living is best life.
[SPEAKER_07]: There it is.
[SPEAKER_07]: This is open AI saying they want to replace Alexa and save Alexa, yes, smarter, right to us.
[SPEAKER_07]: It will be better.
[SPEAKER_05]: Tech experts say the next big battle for AI companies may not just be business users with families who use the tech every day.
[SPEAKER_05]: The idea is that your assistant could eventually help with everything from your grocery list to your vacation plans, which means someday soon your computer may know you forgot your
[SPEAKER_06]: Don't forget if you're going to the parking lot to bring gasoline to kill your wife.
[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, hey, fun is it fun the best thing to have it is my truly moving right along smart glasses get a new makeover smart glasses You're getting a second chance with a new approach now Josh was showing us his smart has your last week Josh, let's see if he's got that look at that he keeps them right next to us.
[SPEAKER_05]: He looks smarter That's why they're called smart glasses Josh Soroka smart glasses use her
[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, Mr. O'Mara's time for me to put these on, but they need to be charged.
[SPEAKER_05]: Marvelous idea, sir.
[SPEAKER_05]: Earlier versions of smart glasses made people nervous because they worry they were secretly being recorded.
[SPEAKER_05]: The new generation is focusing more on features like translation, navigation, receiving notifications and helping people access information without pulling out a phone.
[SPEAKER_05]: I like that.
[SPEAKER_05]: I like that.
[SPEAKER_05]: I like that.
[SPEAKER_06]: Almost every word in that sentence rhymed, notification, information, everything.
[SPEAKER_06]: Everything.
[SPEAKER_06]: It was perfect.
[SPEAKER_05]: The new generation will focus more on, hold on a second.
[SPEAKER_05]: Let's see if I can do that.
[SPEAKER_05]: We'll focus more on the features like translation, navigation to slow fucking soundboard.
[SPEAKER_05]: Right when you try to do a quick one, and it's got to be like because poetry is not something that should be heard translation navigation receiving notifications, helping people access masturbation.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, no, that's the occasion.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, sorry about that.
[SPEAKER_05]: Eating.
[SPEAKER_05]: Tech companies say the goal is to make the glasses feel more natural and less like a sort of vans.
[SPEAKER_05]: A surveillance device.
[SPEAKER_05]: I love that.
[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you, Mr. Lady.
[SPEAKER_05]: Real test.
[SPEAKER_05]: or be whether people want to wear a computer on their face all day.
[SPEAKER_05]: Can you wear them on the SS Vendom?
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, I'll be on the Vendom with my red white and blue Speedo, or... Yeah, you just want to look like they're in science fiction movie.
[SPEAKER_05]: So isn't that special?
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_06]: Josh now is ready.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_05]: Right, at the... Wow.
[SPEAKER_05]: A Kentucky man, finally, allegedly took leaving the hospital to a whole new level.
[SPEAKER_05]: The police say the man was being treated at a medical facility when he decided he was ready to go I'm ready to go But instead of waiting for a ride home, he allegedly Well, he did what most people in Kentucky do when they're ready to go home from the hospital and ambulance of course
[SPEAKER_05]: The strangest part of the story authority say he was still wearing a hospital gown when he took off in the emergency vehicle.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I'm not getting ready for a close police eventually tracked him down.
[SPEAKER_05]: He was arrested on multiple charges.
[SPEAKER_05]: The big question if you're going to commit a crime is a hospital gown.
[SPEAKER_05]: Really the outfit you want to make you get away and if you're going to do it, wear pants.
[SPEAKER_06]: Where are your pants, people?
[SPEAKER_06]: He thought about it and he decided that a hospital gun was the best costume for the day I'm leaving my Kentucky hospital, and I'm doing it in my pants.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, baby Gans and pants.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: We got more show coming up But first I want to tell you about soul after a long work days your brain's still working over time Stress-down heat up unable to shut off.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's summer for crying out love.
[SPEAKER_05]: Come on
[SPEAKER_05]: Come on, Josh!

[SPEAKER_06]: You've wanted to do this for a week now theme park jargon This is the best piece of theme park jargon I've ever heard now if you listen you can hear
[SPEAKER_06]: stuff on radios when you're walking around Kings Dominion or your local theme park.
[SPEAKER_06]: The one that Mark Ridell, who was a marketing market Katie for a while, he said, always listen for the phrase, protein spill.
[SPEAKER_06]: Because that means someone has pused on a ride.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's what they call it, a protein spill that's for.
[SPEAKER_06]: And it used to crack me up and we were one time, we were, uh,
[SPEAKER_06]: We were denied access to the dominator, due to a protein spill.
[SPEAKER_06]: And so we knew exactly what we, and don't think we didn't tell everyone they could hear us.
[SPEAKER_06]: I would say that.
[SPEAKER_06]: You know what that means?
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_06]: Someone puked at the time.
[SPEAKER_05]: I will say this as someone who has not only done it once, but twice once in my childhood and the other in my senior years when I got off the guardians of the galaxy ride and route.
[SPEAKER_05]: I puked on the ride and then I puked into the trash can, oh my god, I'm so right.
[SPEAKER_06]: I still think I still think it would be great to get a small, self-adhesive brass plaque and sneak it onto that trash can.
[SPEAKER_06]: This is where the Michael, because would be so fun to spot it and I don't know that they would be able to pick it up.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, you remember the guy next to me had one leg.
[SPEAKER_06]: I did not know that.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, he had one leg, and I almost puked on him, but I was so skilled.
[SPEAKER_05]: He was the hopping man.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, he really didn't notice because I was so skilled in projecting my vomit to the right and out.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, on the outside of the car, I was fantastic.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's all I was thinking about.
[SPEAKER_05]: The last thing you want to do with perhaps a veteran is to barf in his lap for a good.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_06]: You don't want it, I mean, they're already at odds.
[SPEAKER_05]: It was really the last theme park experience I will ever have.
[SPEAKER_07]: I don't think we had a great one and really tough and good job to get it out of the car with the amount of spinning that thing.
[SPEAKER_05]: I know how to manage my protein spills.
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't think I've ever thrown up.
[SPEAKER_06]: I have had to sit down on the pavement and collect myself after a ride.
[SPEAKER_05]: But that's because of the tears, right?
[SPEAKER_06]: No, this was a ride that no longer exists at King's Meaning called the Apple Turnover.
[SPEAKER_06]: Now imagine if you would, a ride that is a large disk and there are cars hanging from it.
[SPEAKER_06]: And you get in and it starts to spin to a point that the cars go 90 degrees outwards, right?
[SPEAKER_06]: So, you're spinning, you're parallel to the ground in your spinning, and then the circular device goes up 90 degrees, so you're spinning at full centrifugal force this way.
[SPEAKER_06]: And when I didn't realize it did all that, when I got off, I had to sit down and collect my thoughts.
[SPEAKER_06]: But, this is a no, and the gun is just to hear you bend them, and then it will then what happened.
[SPEAKER_06]: And then I had to sit down.
[SPEAKER_06]: No.
[SPEAKER_06]: And then I had to hold my head.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, and then.
[SPEAKER_08]: I got it.
[SPEAKER_08]: No, and then.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, and then.
[SPEAKER_06]: And then I had to get a drink of water.
[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, uh, and the guardians ride.
[SPEAKER_07]: I had to lay down next to that trash jam.
[SPEAKER_07]: It is so.
[SPEAKER_07]: I couldn't walk up.
[SPEAKER_06]: destination for DMO at some point.
[SPEAKER_05]: Do you do you think this, you know what, if you get a chance, because not a homework assignment, I know you pop over Disney a lot, Josh, maybe just take in a break, have an beverage break, and sitting outside that ride, just to check people out that are walking out of it, which might be kind of fun, you know?
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but I don't know where the glasses and just sit outside watching people.
[SPEAKER_06]: All that'd be great.
[SPEAKER_07]: How great would that go?
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't think it's just older people kids puke on it too Yeah, they do, but I think that it's more funny when old people do it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I should say funnier I was more honest me.
[SPEAKER_05]: I would first of course down here a hundred percent humidity in the heat Yeah, and I had to linger my family was worried about and my to be perfect on as you were excited
[SPEAKER_06]: because you're a Disney.
[SPEAKER_07]: I did it at the end of the night and after laying down for a while, tried to leave and I couldn't get on the monorail because it was moving too much.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I'm pretty good.
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm pretty good with real rides.
[SPEAKER_06]: I can do speed and everything.
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm not great at spinning, but what gets me and I think that's what gets people on the pirates.
[SPEAKER_06]: What was not pirates of the Guardian.
[SPEAKER_06]: Guardians of the Galaxy is the virtual.
[SPEAKER_07]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
[SPEAKER_06]: But there isn't, there isn't any sort of projection or 4D going on with it as well.
[SPEAKER_07]: I thought there was some, there's projection cycle in the walls.
[SPEAKER_06]: That, I think that messes with your innate balance as well.
[SPEAKER_06]: But I could be wrong.
[SPEAKER_05]: Anyway, the right is called Guardians of the Manchin.
[SPEAKER_05]: Isn't it, no, no, no, it's just, no, I got it.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's a small pirate.
[SPEAKER_06]: Now that is a that's a great it's short.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, you just go in and you see him and you say what is that he is Thank you a small pirate well Mike.
[SPEAKER_06]: This is last week at Disney land.
[SPEAKER_06]: I believe Mr. Toads wild ride They had to close it down and people heard on the radio Why they closed it down and they had to do some research.
[SPEAKER_06]: They said on Toads wild ride we've got a a code grandma
[SPEAKER_06]: And I didn't know what a code grandma.
[SPEAKER_06]: What is a code grandma?
[SPEAKER_06]: A code grandma means someone distributed human remains in the right.
[SPEAKER_07]: and so much that it had to be shut down.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, my god.
[SPEAKER_06]: Now people might have to move people that would do that, probably didn't like all clotsie and stuff, too, right?
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, you know that I want some of me at the Grizzly.
[SPEAKER_06]: I've actually showed Josh the exact place I want to be.
[SPEAKER_06]: But this was on the ride to a point, Mike.
[SPEAKER_06]: This ride moves at a good enough speed that when they dumped it, it didn't just stay in their row.
[SPEAKER_06]: It went behind them as well, so that we'll never have them again, and I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_06]: So when the code grandma went down, the Florida didn't just get grandma.
[SPEAKER_06]: The people behind them got grandma as well.
[SPEAKER_05]: Have you thought about how you want your family doing yours?
[SPEAKER_06]: I have nod.
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm thinking that it's going to have control.
[SPEAKER_05]: Have you thought about it at all?
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, you have.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I mean, I know that the bear.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I know exactly where they're going to go.
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know how they're going to get the ashes in.
[SPEAKER_06]: They're nod.
[SPEAKER_06]: I thought it would be okay to get the ashes in.
[SPEAKER_07]: Checks really well.
[SPEAKER_06]: They do.
[SPEAKER_06]: They do the x-ray and everything.
[SPEAKER_06]: But I'm thinking, I'm thinking inside of a stuffed animal would be valid in a Ziploc bag.
[SPEAKER_06]: Maybe.
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's up to them.
[SPEAKER_06]: I'll be dead.
[SPEAKER_07]: I don't care.
[SPEAKER_07]: I could put you in my pocket and walk in and they wouldn't care.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, put a put robin your pocket and scatter him like Andy DeFranan, Shushank redemption.
[SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_06]: The dirt from the from the greatest cape.
[SPEAKER_06]: You could make it fall out of his mouth as you're walking with action.
[SPEAKER_05]: I want to put something people have actually seen.
[SPEAKER_06]: But no one ever saw a movie that won four Oscars.
[SPEAKER_06]: Mike, it's so obscure.
[SPEAKER_05]: Ninety what here was what year was fucking great escape?
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, now you're going to see it.
[SPEAKER_06]: You got me.
[SPEAKER_05]: So I've said I said escape.
[SPEAKER_06]: Now I've got you're going to see a great escape and it's long to it's really long.
[SPEAKER_05]: You're going to have to watch it.
[SPEAKER_06]: What year was it?
[SPEAKER_06]: 1962, maybe?
[SPEAKER_06]: Fine.
[SPEAKER_06]: Queen.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: My, my Shawshank redemption mentioned is an older movie.
[SPEAKER_05]: A very old movie now.
[SPEAKER_06]: Come on.
[SPEAKER_06]: It is, but it was, but it was such a great key plot point in the
[SPEAKER_06]: It wasn't like it wasn't like it wasn't in the shot It was also it was also by the way
[SPEAKER_05]: in your superior film to the greatest cape.
[SPEAKER_06]: Not sure.
[SPEAKER_05]: Shoshank Redemption much better.
[SPEAKER_06]: Not gonna harm you because the problem is is you'll never give up the fact that you're wrong on it.
[SPEAKER_06]: So I'll let you have that.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, it's not.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's because what?
[SPEAKER_05]: Because Steve McQueen, as far as credibility, as far as the performances, the performances are driving the greatest cape.
[SPEAKER_06]: Mike, the greatest cape was a hit from the word go now.
[SPEAKER_06]: I appreciate the fact that that is three hours long.
[SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[SPEAKER_06]: That makes the loose.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's just a nightmare.
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
[SPEAKER_06]: I applaud the fact that the Shawshank Redemption, though it failed upon release, picked up viewership and fandom on continuous airings at WTBS.
[SPEAKER_06]: I think that's nice.
[SPEAKER_05]: Is that where you discovered it?
[SPEAKER_06]: No, I saw it in the theater.
[SPEAKER_06]: I want to do a double feature of the Shawshanker Debtion and the Great Escape.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, I see it.
[SPEAKER_05]: How do you, when, when, when do you see it?
[SPEAKER_06]: I think I originally saw it.
[SPEAKER_06]: I think I originally saw it on HBO.
[SPEAKER_07]: For me, that's TBS.
[SPEAKER_06]: But TBS is showing it all the time.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, like three times a week, they would show it.
[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
[SPEAKER_06]: But anyway,
[SPEAKER_06]: I would like to be scattered, but not much, just some, some of me at the base of the bear outside the grizzly.
[SPEAKER_05]: And there would be scattered like out in the farmer's field, like in that movie, birth of a nation.
[SPEAKER_06]: That'd be good.
[SPEAKER_06]: I'd like that.
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't like that movie so much.
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't want to be scattered by the water.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, where the guy gets the stick in the moon?
[SPEAKER_06]: The tip to the moon?
[SPEAKER_06]: How about the one where the train comes at the cramp?
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and then you can get a freeze in terror.
[SPEAKER_06]: because the train has my ashes all right.
[SPEAKER_05]: So whatever you I mean, is this jargon grandma?
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that's just a new piece of jargon that I think is great code grandma I have not heard code grandma He's open.
[SPEAKER_07]: I have heard treasured guest Treasure guests.
[SPEAKER_07]: I know what this is just about.
[SPEAKER_07]: She's coming down to her over and say hey, could you come over and help with our treasured guest?
[SPEAKER_06]: It means the person's being an asshole.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and it's the person's causing a problem.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, like that's probably what they call me at the HVAC companies.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, no, they're just calling you an asshole.
[SPEAKER_05]: Right, right, I'll need to cover it up.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, but Disney has a whole code of con of the way you perform a code that may, if you want to get really mad at someone, you call them a treasured guest.
[SPEAKER_06]: And that's why you can communicate it to other people.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I love that.
[SPEAKER_06]: I love that.
[SPEAKER_06]: Conduct, baby.
[SPEAKER_06]: And by the way, who wants to be scatter on Mr. Toad's wild ride, there's a dozen rides better than that.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's, you know, at least they're at the A-list theme park instead of some hack, you know, Virginia theme park.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, that's it.
[SPEAKER_06]: You can talk about the grailies.
[SPEAKER_06]: You can look about the grailies.
[SPEAKER_06]: Talk about the greatest people you want.
[SPEAKER_06]: So what you start pissing on, a place that I'm in and a passenger do.
[SPEAKER_07]: That's like making fun of a family member to ride.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_07]: All right, I retract this day.
[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's a great team part.
[SPEAKER_06]: Very sorry.
[SPEAKER_05]: Treasure.
[SPEAKER_05]: You're a treasured asshole.
[SPEAKER_06]: I am a treasured asshole and an ambassador.
[SPEAKER_06]: I put the ass in ambassador.
[SPEAKER_05]: We'll take a break and come back to my place in the show right now.
[SPEAKER_05]: Navigating like these tastes isn't always easy.
[SPEAKER_05]: Trust me, Josh.
[SPEAKER_05]: I get it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Stress, burnout, anxiety, family, work.
[SPEAKER_05]: Sometimes it all adds up and you realize maybe it's time to talk to someone.
[SPEAKER_05]: Especially if you're running around the house and you know Mrs. B waxes you're a treasured.
[SPEAKER_05]: What are you doing to our clients today?
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh god, I'm so sorry.
[SPEAKER_06]: You're a treasured podcast.
[SPEAKER_05]: Find a therapist who actually takes your insurance.
[SPEAKER_05]: That can feel like a full-time job.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's where Rula comes in.
[SPEAKER_05]: Are you L.A. Rula connects you with licensed therapist and mental health providers covered by insurance.
[SPEAKER_05]: They work with over 100 insurance plans with average copays around $15 a second.

[SPEAKER_05]: Visit Rula.com slash TMOs today to get started.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's RULA.com slash
[SPEAKER_05]: Alright, back to the treasured assholes show.
[SPEAKER_06]: We have the great show in the world.
[SPEAKER_06]: We just want to say that.
[SPEAKER_05]: So the way I get it, you had said that paramount is taking over the world and now they want to buy something else and they want to get their claws into all sorts of media.
[SPEAKER_05]: What is the latest with the
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm trying to find the story here, but I, oh, right.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's war brothers.
[SPEAKER_06]: They will find.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right, before you do that, before you put it on, let me just say this, that I know I'm late to the party.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's already won a slew of Emmys, but I am digging on the show, Pluribus.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I don't know if either one of you have a hopped on this bandwagon yet.
[SPEAKER_05]: Pretty?
[SPEAKER_05]: It's sci-fi, and it's pretty solid sci-fi.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's on my TV, the entire first season's out so you can skim through it.
[SPEAKER_07]: And it's like, end of the world AI or something takes over.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to give it a second view.
[SPEAKER_05]: Mrs. Romera even might be intrigued, which is very rare, because she doesn't watch a lot of TV.
[SPEAKER_07]: What we're going to say is that it's the lady from Better Call Saul.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, she's the star she's the star and it really I did I started to watch that when I had Apple TV I did watch that it was good not bad not bad.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I right now.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's got a not bad.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'll let you know if you know if you know if it really holds my engines a really tough plot line to wrap your arms around if you want to if you do want to show that will probably draw Carla and you really should try her on episode one of search party I think she would like it
[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, I followed Rob's advice and we gave search party a chance as we can.
[SPEAKER_07]: And it took a little bit to get into the first season, but we're now like halfway through the third season.
[SPEAKER_07]: We're obsessed with it.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's all we watch this weekend.
[SPEAKER_06]: It is great.
[SPEAKER_06]: And Mike, I was shocked to find.
[SPEAKER_06]: No!
[SPEAKER_06]: I was shocked to find that you're cousin and doubt isn't it?
[SPEAKER_06]: I went into a totally blind race, yeah, but what happened is the California Attorney General Bob, I'm sorry, Rob Bonta is trying to block the states.
[SPEAKER_06]: The states are trying to block paramount from taking over Warner Brothers and Discovery.
[SPEAKER_07]: Actual states are trying to block it because they got federal approval, right?
[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, they did.
[SPEAKER_07]: Now there's 12 states that are trying
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's almost as if like the federal government doesn't care what's best for America.
[SPEAKER_06]: Almost, but California, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Washington State are all trying to block the merger.
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, and I can't think of a time that actual state governments have gotten in the way of meeting monopoly.
[SPEAKER_06]: And I know they go both ways, but I mean, that sounds pretty, that's a pretty drastic situation.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, we didn't talk about it and we probably should now that I think of it because it wasn't all that top of mind, but pretty stunning Senate death over the weekend with Lindsey Graham, passing away after a brief
[SPEAKER_05]: illness.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, he had been in Ukraine.
[SPEAKER_05]: He's an outspoken supporter of Ukraine.
[SPEAKER_05]: The Russians are, you know, not exactly unknown for slipping somebody something that results in a terrible illness.
[SPEAKER_05]: Is there anything more that's dropped on that at all?
[SPEAKER_07]: No, they said they they said it looked all clean in the initial autopsy, but also I ran last week was saying they were going to kill him and having pictures of him up last week.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_07]: And there are some funeral that they had.
[SPEAKER_05]: And you know what as someone who really diametrically opposed
[SPEAKER_05]: to so many things that Lindsey Graham was.
[SPEAKER_05]: When he early on in his career had that relationship with John McCain, they were friends.
[SPEAKER_05]: He was known as a senator who could work across the island, then he just became a total lackey for the MAGA movement, which he did.
[SPEAKER_05]: And with all that said, and I hated it, I hated Lindsey Graham in the way he did that.
[SPEAKER_05]: But,
[SPEAKER_05]: once again this is my I don't know my decorum the way I was raised might be my age but
[SPEAKER_05]: Man, oh man, it's just there are times that you let them have it when they're alive, you really do, you let them have it when they are alive.
[SPEAKER_05]: And by the way, I believe with all of my soul, Josh might disagree with me that the right started this bullshit with talking ill of the dead and Donald Trump is the one that did it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Donald Trump does it.
[SPEAKER_05]: And now when we do it, and people who come from the left do it, I fucking hate it.
[SPEAKER_05]: I absolutely hate it.
[SPEAKER_05]: It diminishes your argument.
[SPEAKER_05]: Wait a while, you know?
[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not going to stand at that.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, you know what, when somebody dies, they're dead.
[SPEAKER_07]: They're dead, dead, they're gone, you know?
[SPEAKER_07]: You can disagree with his policies.
[SPEAKER_07]: That doesn't mean you are happy a guy dies.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I think what happens now is you know, well Trump actually came out about somebody and said, I'm glad he's dead, which was horrible, and yeah, it was my father that he said that it's so it makes me so upset.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's so impolite.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you have to keep this off description of it, but that's what it is for the manners.
[SPEAKER_05]: We don't have any decor on our society.
[SPEAKER_06]: No matter how against you, against you, maybe someone politically, that person has family, that person has loved one, show a little respect for a moment.
[SPEAKER_06]: One of the biggest things that the states are concerned about what this mostly boils down to is that Warner Bros.
[SPEAKER_06]: Discovery is the parent company of CNN and no one likes the idea of CNN being run by the same people that run CBS news and I can understand that.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, CNN did a really nice job of mopping up my buddy, Grand Platter.
[SPEAKER_05]: They just spatched him pretty quickly.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I think they probably had a lot of that written.
[SPEAKER_06]: I think they had that written advance, probably.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, probably.
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, I hate that.
[SPEAKER_06]: But yeah, I mean, I guess that's the same monopolies.
[SPEAKER_07]: because they buy everything, then they jack up the price, but if we would just stop using them, they, the problem is they keep merging because they keep getting bigger, and they can't afford to be big.
[SPEAKER_07]: So then after merge with others, and it's, it's an old way.
[SPEAKER_06]: But if it's something that you, that you have to have, then they control you.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, the issue is not to have any of that.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but the issue is not just the monopolies.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's the political angle of the monopolies and putting in people that have a political point of view.
[SPEAKER_05]: And now that's the problem with everything nowadays.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's politics.
[SPEAKER_07]: Even this, the states that band together all are states ran by the same party.
[SPEAKER_07]: So they're on the other hand.
[SPEAKER_07]: What happened to the picture is only the political thing.
[SPEAKER_07]: So you can't trust anyone.
[SPEAKER_05]: Don't trust no, which by the way, is the way I feel about heating and air conditioning companies.
[SPEAKER_06]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_06]: They're doing it monopoly in your town.
[SPEAKER_06]: That's the way you can find a mom and pop.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's the way I roll baby, that's the way you do it.
[SPEAKER_05]: So that's it.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's all the information you have on that.
[SPEAKER_06]: But you need to wait and see what happens.
[SPEAKER_06]: They're trying to make it hold off until they're out.
[SPEAKER_07]: Paramount now is talking about leaving California and moving all of their studios out of California over this.
[SPEAKER_07]: Speaking of Paramount, I'm not even sure if it was Paramount, was it Paramount?
[SPEAKER_05]: I think so.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think that's what it was.
[SPEAKER_05]: It could be wrong.
[SPEAKER_05]: Don't know.
[SPEAKER_05]: My son makes me stay up Saturday night to watch the fight, the M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, combat sports that you can possibly, Floyd Mayweather comes to mind when he fought many Pacio and, you know, so many Floyd Mayweather fights.
[SPEAKER_05]: Even the heavyweight fights of old, the only time, the last time there was a consistent delivery on heavyweight fights on any combat sports that you knew was a guarantee was Mike fucking Tyson.
[SPEAKER_05]: He used to not disappoint because he'd come in there and usually eviscerate the guy.
[SPEAKER_05]: And if he didn't, he'd get knocked out
[SPEAKER_06]: Robert came storming down the next day.
[SPEAKER_06]: I said, how was the fight?
[SPEAKER_06]: He said there wasn't even a punch thrown.
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
[SPEAKER_06]: And it was the most disappointing thing I've ever seen in my life.
[SPEAKER_06]: What?
[SPEAKER_06]: I said Robert go back over the last 15 years to the day after any big fight and see how many people started by saying it was supposed to be great, but it was an amazing disappointment.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's just they don't exist anymore.
[SPEAKER_05]: You can't look, the risk you run and doesn't take away from your bottom line promoters.
[SPEAKER_05]: But when you overhype something, traditionally, it usually is a disappointment.
[SPEAKER_05]: In the case of the Connor McGregor fight, he blew allegedly.
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think he's lying about it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Blue is knee out.
[SPEAKER_05]: I've had that injury.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think I know what happened.
[SPEAKER_05]: He put weight on it, and it popped out, and you can see.
[SPEAKER_06]: You don't fight anymore.
[SPEAKER_06]: I blew mine out in an altercation.
[SPEAKER_06]: I know.
[SPEAKER_05]: I did.
[SPEAKER_05]: I legitimately did not a pay per view.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, not a pay per view.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I certainly couldn't pull that move back in that day.
[SPEAKER_05]: The Goddard did.
[SPEAKER_05]: But it looked to me when he was coming in right before he was going to go into the Octagon.
[SPEAKER_05]: He actually looked as though he tweaked something.
[SPEAKER_05]: And then it was gone.
[SPEAKER_05]: And there was nothing and, oh my God, if we're pissed, or Robert and I are pissed, can you imagine the betting public?
[SPEAKER_05]: Because the guy wins, the guy wins by TKO, that's all there is to it.
[SPEAKER_05]: So anyway, I mean, so many disappointments with the ridiculous hype machine.
[SPEAKER_05]: And by the way, somebody tell Bruce Purple Buffer to, you know, why don't you cut that in half your stupid bullshit intros?
[SPEAKER_05]: Really, it's silliness.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's too much.
[SPEAKER_06]: Mike, this is why I've chosen to focus on soccer.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, yeah, but you got the home one Derby tonight.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, good for it Eddie R. Wood says Connor wasn't even wearing cowboy boots good memory Eddie waiting Oh, thanks for a hey, you know, that's a new guy that pops in just to be a dick.
[SPEAKER_06]: How about this?
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, he does, but now they don't over-hyped this
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, don't hype it up.
[SPEAKER_05]: We will take a short break and return the beautiful video for us today Rob Scott.
[SPEAKER_06]: Of course.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm looking forward to that.
[SPEAKER_05]: But first we want to tell why I'm going to hype this.
[SPEAKER_05]: There are a lot of great cruises.
[SPEAKER_05]: Tom Cruise, Santa Cruz, Penelope Cruz.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_05]: And of course, my favorite.
[SPEAKER_05]: Ted.
[SPEAKER_06]: Ted Cruz.
[SPEAKER_05]: Mighty Teddy, as he's always been called.
[SPEAKER_05]: Mighty Teddy's always ready.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yet, uh, none can hold a candle to the TMOS 2027 cruise.
[SPEAKER_05]: This year, it's a better price.
[SPEAKER_05]: Longer trip, more notice, join Mike Robb, Josh, and your fellow Americans aboard the all new Margaritaville at sea island.
[SPEAKER_05]: They're sailing January 21st, 27.
[SPEAKER_05]: It, uh, it's 2027.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's very, very exciting coming up.
[SPEAKER_05]: Enjoy five.
[SPEAKER_05]: What do you mean?
[SPEAKER_05]: It's coming up.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's coming up closer every day, Mike, it's like every day.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's 24 hours' pleasure.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's fucking July, you've done it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Mike, create urgency, please.
[SPEAKER_06]: Just please.
[SPEAKER_05]: Enjoy five days, if it's coming up right around the corner.
[SPEAKER_05]: Enjoy five days and four nights of laughs, a live podcast recording, Larry Penning tonight.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: Meet and greet, tropical weather in the dead of winter, and plenty of time to unwind.
[SPEAKER_05]: Plus, on ship tattoos.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: They're depending on tattoos.
[SPEAKER_05]: Plus, I'll chip tattoos and bouffets.
[SPEAKER_05]: The parting from Tampa, you'll get two relaxing days and see a Saturday stop in beautiful Cosimela and one final chill day before heading home on Monday.
[SPEAKER_05]: You're not going to want to go home.
[SPEAKER_05]: You're really not.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to warn you about that to start with.
[SPEAKER_05]: Eight hundred eight one four seventy one hundred that's eight hundred eight one four seventy one hundred full details are a TMS podcast dot com just click store book now and lock in your price and we'll see you under the sun no Pharma fojo

[SPEAKER_06]: Mike another death that you did not cover in the news at age 78 in Wellington, New Zealand.
[SPEAKER_06]: Sam Neal passed from Limfoma, non-Hodgkins Limfoma, a variant of that.
[SPEAKER_06]: And he was, he was in a cry in the dark, he was in Deadcom, he was in the piano, but to me and some of my- That's true, the original Peaky Blinders.
[SPEAKER_05]: Great, and Peaky Blinders.
[SPEAKER_06]: To me, he was, you'll always be part of one of the true magical movies of my lifetime.
[SPEAKER_06]: One of the ones that when I saw it at the theater, it was a jaw dropper.
[SPEAKER_06]: And if you, I guess it's aged a little bit, but it's still so great, Jurassic Park.
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, it's just so, so great.
[SPEAKER_06]: And let's go back and take a look at this scene because it's still.
[SPEAKER_05]: There he is.
[SPEAKER_02]: It did it.
[SPEAKER_02]: It crazy so big you did it.
[SPEAKER_06]: We get this terrible old book.
[SPEAKER_06]: All blood in this it doesn't apply.
[SPEAKER_06]: The totally wrong is a hormonal creature.
[SPEAKER_01]: This thing doesn't only swarm.
[SPEAKER_06]: These things go better.
[SPEAKER_06]: 25-57 foot neck.
[SPEAKER_06]: And actually it's on 30.
[SPEAKER_08]: We're gonna make a fortune with this place.
[SPEAKER_06]: Mike, it is my memory that we actually had shoot in half, buddy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It is my memory that we actually did a Donna Mike show screening.
[SPEAKER_06]: The morning it came out.
[SPEAKER_06]: Uh-huh.
[SPEAKER_06]: And it, it was, uh-huh.
[SPEAKER_08]: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
[SPEAKER_06]: It was it's still a staggering film and I think a real I mean when they look back over the entire history of Hollywood, I think that film will be That was a great clip to play.
[SPEAKER_05]: The one I remember from Sam Neil is when he is explaining the way the Velociraptor kills somebody and they eat you while you're still alive.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, he did say it's turkey.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it was scary.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's a great great film.
[SPEAKER_07]: So it makes you it also emphasises how bad CGI is Yeah, because that movie looks great.
[SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_07]: It does.
[SPEAKER_07]: Absolutely.
[SPEAKER_06]: Anyway age 78 way too young My sympathies to his family and safe home Sam Neal now Mike you have been to Yellowstone, right?
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes
[SPEAKER_06]: Did you encounter any wildlife or did you just mostly fall over crowd to see the squirting water?
[SPEAKER_05]: Let's see here.
[SPEAKER_05]: We got there early to see old faithful and you realize as you're waiting around people that people suck.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, to be honest with you with noise and talking and just, you know, it made me feel like they were taking the amazing world of nature and turning it into a theme park, which is really what Yellowstone has turned into, but the natural beauty of Yellowstone is something to behold.
[SPEAKER_06]: I think the biggest breed of bison they have there is called the bullbison, and if you see a bullbison, it's pretty incredible thing to see, but you might want to get the hell out of there.
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm going to run this whole clip of a spectator watching a bullbison being a bullbison, but sticking around just a little too long.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh boy.
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, there he is, he's just, he's coming to a picnic set up, lays down, cleared alone, lovely.
[SPEAKER_06]: Of course, I don't, I think the music was added later.
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't think they pipe in music.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_06]: But you're the man in the park.
[SPEAKER_06]: They're stopping to take pictures.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, sure, what's not to like.
[SPEAKER_05]: You can't get a real perspective on how close they are, but they seem like they might be at a safe distance.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now he's, uh, rolling out like he's just happy, and that's what a dog does.
[SPEAKER_05]: So scratching his back a little bit.
[SPEAKER_06]: And now you get sort of perspective when he gets close to the pickup truck That he's nearly as big as a pickup truck now he's pursuing the guy the took the picture of him.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, he doesn't face my god.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh My god, and this guy is not a young fella and The bullbison is after him still he's trying to put you in between them and now I'll pipe down because I want you to see what happens to this fella
[SPEAKER_06]: Whoa, whoa.
[SPEAKER_06]: My estimate is my good and there.
[SPEAKER_06]: It flipped boom.
[SPEAKER_06]: Leave the bold bison alone right now.
[SPEAKER_06]: God, I had a new idea.
[SPEAKER_05]: I haven't seen it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yikes.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's scary.
[SPEAKER_06]: So just be careful.
[SPEAKER_06]: Folks, be very careful.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, I want to close Mike with something a little more upbeat.
[SPEAKER_06]: I think this is the greatest television commercial for radio station that's ever aired.
[SPEAKER_06]: This goes back to 1981 and I'm playing this for a reason.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, I think anyone in Washington, D.C. will remember this.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Here's something I know you like.
[SPEAKER_04]: Dude Walker, commercial free on your cue.
[SPEAKER_08]: It's absolutely gonna head with you.
[SPEAKER_08]: The three commercial free hours every day on the cue.
[SPEAKER_08]: 107, Joe Cypry and I'll drive in your home, commercial free.
[SPEAKER_08]: Hey, baby.
[SPEAKER_00]: You want 07.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is like a dummy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Another commercial free hour.
[SPEAKER_08]: Q107 standing, we bring you with more commercial free hours coming up for you on your key.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's remarkable.
[SPEAKER_01]: Commercial free hours is just one of the reasons Q107's remarkable radio station.
[SPEAKER_06]: Just a remarkable ad.
[SPEAKER_06]: And the reason I play that is that this Monday coming up as a TMLS extra.
[SPEAKER_06]: Um, over the weekend, I interviewed a dude walker in Doug Limerick.
[SPEAKER_06]: They're first long term interview that they've done together since they left the air.
[SPEAKER_06]: They've popped up at places, but they did an hour with me talking about the establishment of Q107, that commercial and how they dominated the airways for two years.
[SPEAKER_06]: And it is,
[SPEAKER_06]: fascinating and for anyone who's ever turned on a radio, you're going to want to hear it, but you have to subscribe to the bonus show to hear it.
[SPEAKER_06]: That's the only thing.
[SPEAKER_06]: So you may want to check that out.
[SPEAKER_06]: So that's dude and Doug on the Michael Marishow this Monday, make sure you join us.
[SPEAKER_05]: We're hopefully going to be able to air that.
[SPEAKER_06]: Figures crossed.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I have to approve it first.
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, Ron, we gave you the day off.
[SPEAKER_05]: So that's you know what.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, no, what we're going to do is there's nothing I like hearing more than, you know, something that's been done without my knowledge.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, we could run the audio for us.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, you run the hell out of it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Let me know what's going on for the
[SPEAKER_05]: Fuck wad sake here for god.
[SPEAKER_05]: I had no idea.
[SPEAKER_05]: I would have loved to set it up I would have loved to do an intro.
[SPEAKER_05]: What the hell is happening here?
[SPEAKER_05]: Am I losing control of my empire?
[SPEAKER_05]: My failing empire?
[SPEAKER_05]: What the hell is going on here?
[SPEAKER_05]: I've got mutinirs mutinirs on board ladies Jellam they're doing things without telling me Ed
[SPEAKER_07]: We are preparing in case some happens to you with your trips.
[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: I get it.
[SPEAKER_05]: You're preparing for my eventual death, which I think is.
[SPEAKER_06]: Which could be on the boat.
[SPEAKER_06]: It could happen.
[SPEAKER_06]: It could happen.
[SPEAKER_05]: It absolutely could happen.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, I remember seeing Doug Limerick at the radio thong in 19, probably right around that in 1981 time, probably 80, 81.
[SPEAKER_05]: And
[SPEAKER_05]: Dude walkers a great guy with the best place, but Doug Limerick's the one that came out to our radio time And I looked at him and it's one of the big reasons I wanted to be a DJ because he had that way But does he still have that kind of a nosh that's all he's always had sensational except when he laughs and a little bit of his North Carolina comes out It's actually okay funny.
[SPEAKER_06]: All right, hold him on it.
[SPEAKER_06]: They were both incredible and if you like radio You're gonna love this interview.
[SPEAKER_06]: I promise.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay check it out on TMOs extra you have
[SPEAKER_05]: to subscribe to the bonus show to get the T.M.
[SPEAKER_05]: O.S.
[SPEAKER_05]: X, or, though, with a dude in Doug and Rob, and that'll be coming up Wednesday.
[SPEAKER_05]: Can we drop Monday?
[SPEAKER_05]: Monday.
[SPEAKER_05]: We're a good week from today.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right, good stuff.
[SPEAKER_06]: That's it.
[SPEAKER_05]: What's that?
[SPEAKER_05]: We're done.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, that's it.
[SPEAKER_06]: We're going to go.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: We don't have any more video.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, no.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: That was an interesting something.
[SPEAKER_05]: See.
[SPEAKER_05]: But I mean, when you don't tell me it's going to end on.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's a very interesting.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: That was the whole reason.
[SPEAKER_05]: I said we were closing with it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_05]: But no.
[SPEAKER_05]: I got a little rattled.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_05]: I did.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's good.
[SPEAKER_05]: And that's a good commercial.
[SPEAKER_05]: And they were only knocked off.
[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe a little over a five six years later by power 105 WPA.
[SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_05]: Bye.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: By two young upstarts.
[SPEAKER_05]: We got to get out of here.

[SPEAKER_05]: I hope you enjoyed it.
[SPEAKER_05]: And thank you commenters for that.
