Doing great.
Delighted to be here and look forward to
seeing what kind of trouble we can stir
up with our discussions.
Well,
I know it's going to be so much
trouble because we can't put this one on
YouTube.
We got kicked off.
We got kicked off in two weeks because
we had a guest bring up zinc,
an element on a periodic table.
And you talk a lot about the element
on the periodic table, as I understand it.
I do.
Well, Morley,
for all the people out there that don't
know who you are,
can you give them a background of who
you are and why you are so doggone
famous within this world?
I'm not sure famous is the right word.
Okay, thumbnail sketch.
I'm a pre-med retread.
I had designs of being a doctor when
I was in college.
I grew up in a very sickly family,
alcoholic mom who was a chain smoker,
manic depressive dad who had
schizophrenia.
My sister became a nurse,
so I was supposed to become the doctor.
until I found out how hard that was.
I still applied to medical schools and I
only got rejected by eighteen schools,
twelve in one day.
Not that there's any collusion in the
medical school industry,
but if you don't go to medical school,
you do the next best thing.
You go to business school,
which is what I did.
I got an MBA so I could become
a hospital executive.
and did that for twelve years and then
decided to go into consulting so I could
solve bigger and more complex problems all
over the country.
And so I did that for twenty years,
pulling a suitcase behind my back,
you know,
taking three or four flights a week.
It's a rough way to make a living.
It was very heady,
very intellectually stimulating,
very financially rewarding,
but it created a lot of stress in
my body.
and I developed what's called frozen
shoulder I couldn't pick my hand up above
my waist and so this goes back to
we're talking to and went to a health
food store that I had frequented for many
years uh and I explained what my problem
was they said oh you need to go
see Dr Liz and I said
I don't do witchcraft.
Just sell me some supplements.
I'm not going to go see it.
Because doctor and first name meant
chiropractor.
And I'm just like,
I'm not going to do that.
Because I was an allopathic brat.
And nothing changed.
I was miserable.
I couldn't sleep.
A lot of pain.
Went back two months later.
And the owner of the store was there
that day.
Lynn Bednar was her name.
And I explained what my problem was.
And she leans forward.
She says, Morley.
We love you.
Go see Dr. Liz.
So with my tail between my legs,
I go see Dr. Liz,
who at the time was a network
chiropractor,
which means she was working with nine
clients at a time.
I walked into her room.
I'm like, oh my gosh,
what am I getting myself into?
Well, suffice it to say,
there's a muscle in here in our TMJ
joint.
It's called the pterygoid muscle.
Dr.
Liz put on a little finger cut and
with the full weight of her body pressed
on that muscle, which was very painful.
But as she did that,
she was trying to meet the resistance of
the muscle to the pressure in her,
you know, touching it.
And as she did, my arm went up.
And I was like, oh, my God,
this is like a miracle.
I couldn't believe it.
This is the first time I've ever been
with a chiropractor.
I'm like, what is this all?
What's going on?
And she used a phrase I'd never heard
in thirty-two years of working in a
hospital industry.
She talked about an innate healer,
the healer within.
And I thought to myself,
I didn't say anything to her.
I said, if there's an innate healer,
why do we have millions of doctors around
the world?
And so I really set out at that.
That was March of two thousand eight.
I said,
I'm going to figure out who the innate
healer is.
And that's what the book is about.
The cure your fatigue is about the
importance of copper, copper metabolism.

a wide spectrum of issues.
And when I started this journey,
I thought, okay,
I'm going to be at it for just
a little while.
Well, that was years ago.
And I neglected to tell you the best
news.
Dr. Liz is my wife.
So she had quite an impact on my
being, as it were.
But the beauty of it is I've been
able to spend three hours a day,
seven days a week for
and i've read over twelve thousand
articles that's more than twelve thousand
doctors that you know and so i've amassed
a lot of information and by the grace
of god i have a very good memory
not perfect but pretty darn good and i
can sing sight chapter and verse articles
that i've read you know ten fifteen years
ago that have bearing on what we're going
to talk about today and i think it's
a a branch of
information that is not well known,
and it's not taught in medical school.
And I think the world of doctors,
I mean, if I had an automobile accident,
I'd want to have a doctor take care
of me.
If I have a nutritional problem,
if I have a chronic illness, no,
I wouldn't go to a conventional doctor,
because their MD degree,
which they think stands for medical
doctor,
really stands for mineral denialist.
They don't understand how the minerals
work.
They're very powerful.
They're the catalysts inside our body.
And anyone who works in farming
understands how important minerals are,
especially to the plants and the animals.
The part that I find wildly entertaining
are these very successful farmers who
raise amazing crops.
crop yields, amazing animals.
And when they get an ache and a
pain,
they go to see the doctor because they
believe in disease when in fact they know
it doesn't exist in the plants and the
animals.
And that I think will be part of
our discussion today and maybe going
forward is to help people realize that the
whole allopathic system is a scam and it's
a narrative.
And I came up with this concept many
years ago,
it was probably about ten years ago,
I was very active on Facebook.
And I just wanted to,
I wanted to stir the pot.
I wanted to see what people,
whether there was a pulse out there.
And I said,
because I had a very large following,
and I still do,
but this was at a very pitched moment.
I said, there is no medical disease.
There is only stress-induced mineral
dysregulation that causes metabolic
dysfunction.
And that phrase, when translated,
says when we get under stress in our
world,
we develop what's called oxidative stress
in our mitochondria.
And the energy production collapses.
And that's why the title is Cure Your
Fatigue.
It's cellular energy deficiency.
It's the cornerstone work of Douglas
Wallace,
who's a famous geneticist and biologist at
Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania.
And in his signature article in
scientific and clinical peers saying you
don't understand how energy is made and
and he really helped me galvanize the
whole premise of our philosophy which is
we ignore the enemies we ignore the
pathogens we ignore the toxins we ignore
the heavy metals which is where most
people are really freaking out about and
we're all about ignoring the enemies
ignite the energy
And the whole immune system runs on
energy.
And it's a completely different way of
thinking.
And really,
it's built around bioavailable copper and
its unique ability to regulate iron and
oxygen.
It's the only element on planet Earth that
can do that without creating static
electricity.
So it's a very different philosophy of
thinking.
It's a very different philosophy of
healing.
and it's been around now for about fifteen
years and it's helped thousands and
thousands of people around the world.
And it's been a lot of fun to
kind of challenge the status quo with a
whole different paradigm of thinking and
healing.
Well,
thinking about challenging the status quo,
well, let me back up.
I met some MDs as of late that
think MD stands for medical deity.
But I think I like your version of
it, too, because I think they both apply.
It's funny how a lot of these doctors...
they the whole notion of even talking
about minerals um i in fact i'm related
to one of them and he swore up
and down that you get everything you need
from your food but i've heard you speak
before has to the impossibility of what
that is in today's day and age especially
when they are spraying glyphosate on
everything out there morally you could
have knocked me over with a feather
When I heard you talk about glyphosate and
what it does to the human body,
I mean,
there is no way we're going to get
through all of this today,
so we're going to have to have you
back here for subsequent trips.
But right off the bat,
so many farmers and people that are in
the farm space are listening to this.
I want to ask you right out of
the gate.
I know you said that glyphosate kills more
than weeds, but from your perspective,
I mean, what is it doing?
What is that?
What is,
because they're telling us that copper
isn't necessarily good for us.
In fact,
there are some farmers out there telling
you copper away from your sheep and,
you know, it'll kill them,
but you're telling a very different story.
And somehow,
some way it seems to tie in with
glyphosate.
Well, it absolutely does.
And the world changed in the nineteen
seventies when Roundup was really
developed in its current use as an
herbicide.
You have to go back into the fifties.
Glyphosate in its original patent was
designed as a pipe cleaner,
industrial pipe cleaner to get rid of the
minerals in the pipes.
And it was just a quirk of fate
that someone happened to notice the runoff
from the pipe was killing the vegetation
outside the building.
It's like, OK, that's a serious problem.
But it's the seminal work of Don Huber.
He's a professor emeritus at Purdue
University.
In twenty twenty two,
he wrote this wonderful book on glyphosate
use in South Africa.
Like it's only a problem in South Africa.
Right.
It's a famous,
famous textbook that he wrote.
But in that book,
he introduces glyphosate.
a logarithmic scale of how quickly
glyphosate pulls minerals out of the soil.
That's an important thing to know because
you want the minerals in the soil to
nourish and to really stimulate the growth
of the plants.
So they then stimulate the growth of the
animals and then ultimately the humans.
in his logarithmic scale uh so just to
make sure people understand an earthquake
is measured on a logarithmic scale so an
earthquake of three yeah dishes rattle but
no one's hurt earthquake of twelve no one
survives because it's an order of
magnitude orders of ten every time you go
up a number so he applied that same
thinking to how quickly
Minerals are being pulled out of the soil.
So glyphosate pulls calcium and magnesium
out at a three.
Okay, that's quick, but not too bad.
It pulls iron and zinc out at a
nine.
pulls copper out at a twelve.
So what does that mean?
Well,
it means that copper is being chelated a
thousand times faster than iron or zinc.
And it's being chelated a billion times
faster than calcium or magnesium.
Now here's the challenge.
We can't relate to what's a thousand times
faster, what's a billion times faster.
When I was in college,
My mom was the executor of her dad's
estate.
He passed away when I was a sophomore.
And from the proceeds of that process,
she was able to buy a Mercedes sports
car.
And that's a sweet machine to have when
you're twenty years old, I'll tell you.
And I was driving that car in Florida.
Going down, ninety-five.
But I was going a hundred and forty
miles an hour.
Whoa!
Which was twice the speed limit.
And it was a very stimulating experience.
It was a wall of green going like
that.
And by the grace of God,
I didn't get caught.
Thank you, Lord.
And...
That was twice the speed limit.
Now, when I was a little boy,
a guy named Chuck Yeager, famous pilot,
he was an experimental test pilot,
he was in the X-Fifteen rocket.
And he went ten times the speed limit
when he broke the sound barrier.
That's ten times.
We don't know what a thousand times
faster.
We don't know what a billion times faster
is.
So what happens when you,
when you hear these numbers that are so
big,
they go right over our head and we
say, well, I don't understand that.
So it can't be very important.
No, it's very, very important.
And back in twenty eighteen,
There's a world-renowned scientist named
Stephanie Seneff.
Many of your listeners, I'm sure,
have read her material,
but probably seen her on podcasts with Dr.
Mercola or other people.
And we were at a conference,
but this particular moment was a breakfast
meeting,
and I was sitting right opposite her.
She leans forward and she says, Morley,
would you like to understand why
glyphosate is so hard on copper
metabolism?
And I just went,
I thought I had died and gone to
heaven.
And she started talking about aspects of
copper metabolism I'd never heard before.
So she's very well versed in all this.
And we've had subsequent conversations
since then.
But the thing is,
this is not being taught to doctors.
It's not being taught to scientists.
It's not being taught to farmers.
I've had three independent conversations
with soil agronomists about this very
subject.
And each time they say, oh, well,
what you're trying to propose is that
we're going to eliminate glyphosate.
I said,
that's exactly what we've got to do to
save humanity.
And they're like,
it's never going to happen.
I'm like, what are you talking about?
And I've looked at the battle maps to
see how much glyphosate use is being done
worldwide.
But what's happening now is
is we're into the third generation now of
people being exposed to this toxin.
And it was Jeremy Knowles,
who was then the chairman of the
Department of Chemistry at Harvard in
nineteen eighty seven,
wrote a very important article about
glyphosate and the shikimate pathway.
People may have heard that term before.
The shikimate pathway is what the
microbiome,
what the bacteria use for their
metabolism.
And we were told, oh,
this only affects the bacteria.
It's not going to affect the humans
because we don't have the shikimate
pathway.
Well,
our gut microbiome runs on the shikimate
pathway.
And so in his article,
there's seven enzymes that are used in the
shikimate pathway.
And copper knocks out one in four.
The very first enzyme,
the rate limiting enzyme is knocked out by
the copper chelation by glyphosate.
So they knew back in nineteen eighty seven
there was going to be a serious problem.
Well, here we are.
We're now forty years later.
We have a very serious problem.
And so people need to understand that
these mysterious ailments and symptoms
that they have are coming from this very
quiet,
elimination of a critical mineral and
other minerals as well.
But this one is coming out at a
rather prodigious rate and it's connected
to everything.
And that's not well understood as you
alluded to and pointed out that coppers
were told that it's toxic.
Well, let me give you an example of,
of how funny that comment is.
If you want to make energy in the
body,
you've got to have copper.
If you want to clear the exhaust,
the oxidative stress,
you've got to have copper.
If you want to move electrons in the
body, it's called reduction oxidation,
reducing chemicals and oxidizing
chemicals, just moving electrons,
you've got to have copper.
If you want to have color in the
body, hair color, skin color, eye color,
we're told that those are the only colors
that matter.
Actually, that's not true.
the heart is supposed to be red.
The liver is supposed to be brown.
The gallbladder is supposed to be green.
And the spleen,
which no one ever talks about,
is supposed to be the color of an
eggplant, a very vibrant purple.
And when I was sharing this with one
of my students,
because I teach a course in how the
body really works,
one of my students was a general surgeon.
She said, Morley,
I've never seen a purple spleen.
And what that means is if the organ
can't be the right color,
it can't emit the right frequency,
it can't do its job properly.
Color is frequency.
So color is really important inside our
body.
We have neurotransmitters.
you know, dopamine, noradrenaline,
things like that.
They're very,
very important for our day-to-day
activity.
You can't make them without copper.
We have what are called signaling
peptides.
You're probably not even familiar with
that term,
but there's forty seven hundred signaling
peptides in the human body.
I want to be technical.
It's four thousand six hundred ninety
nine.
I exaggerated.
Forgive me.
But the thing is,
most of those signaling peptides don't get
activated without one enzyme.
It's called the PAM enzyme.
And what does PAM stand for?
Peptidoglycine alpha-amidating
monooxygenase.
I get a dollar every time I say
it.
But guess where it's never taught?
It's not taught in medical school.
Guess what the rage is today?
Oh, I'm going to get peptides.
And people don't realize the scam that's
in play.
And when did peptides become really
important?
Forty years after the introduction of
glyphosate,
as it begins to ravage the availability of
minerals in the soil, plants, animals,
and humans.
There are things in our nucleus,
pretty important part of the cell,
called transcription factors.
You can't replicate the DNA if you can't
transcribe it.
Many of the transcription factors are
copper dependent.
Wow.
Also,
maybe there isn't such a thing as genetic
disease.
Maybe it's a nutritional deficiency
causing a transcription error.
Maybe.
There's stress enzymes called kinases.
And when they get tweaked because of heat
stress or some other mechanism of stress
in the body,
All metabolism changes by those kinase
enzymes because they phosphorylate things.
They put phosphorus on another chemical.
Can't do that without copper.
And finally,
forty-five percent of our connective
tissue, excuse me,
forty-five percent of our cells in our
body is connective tissue.
Wow.
tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, fascia,
all this connective tissue around our body
made by one enzyme.
It's called lysyl oxidase.
And in order to have connective tissue,
you need collagen for strength and you
need to have elastin for flexibility.
And what lysyl oxidase does is bring those
two proteins together like a zipper
So the tissue has strength, flexibility,
and ultimately integrity.
And so if you have a connective tissue
disorder,
it means you're copper deficient.
If you see anyone walking with a boot
They have a connective tissue disorder.
If you've heard of EDS,
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome,
there are six different forms of it.
They're all connected to copper
deficiency.
So that's just an initial list of things
that copper does.
And yet we're supposed to believe,
and what's the three-letter word in the
word believe?
Lie.
We're supposed to believe that copper is
toxic.
Well, it's toxic to two things.
copper is toxic it's toxic to all
pathogens in our body and it's toxic to
path to profit says it all william take
it away so the obvious question is uh
how do we increase the copper in our
diet like is it something we can do
even if we explore into like um
like food supplementation like maybe
certain foods have higher amounts of
copper or are we stuck with doing strict
like uh pill supplementation and stuff
like that like how what's the best way
to get copper in our diet at this
point wonderful question that great
question here's where it becomes a
challenge um back in the eighties as
monsanto wanted to to um expand their
presence on the planet they came over to
europe
And the country that was most opposed to
glyphosate was France.
They didn't ban it,
but they were vehemently opposed to it.
So someone in,
in decided to study how did the French
benefit from that decision?
What they discovered in this study is that
of French citizens are peeing glyphosate
in their urine.
And so we live in a very different
world now where everyone's being exposed
because it's in the air.
table it's not just on commercial soil
people want to believe it's oh it's one
of those CAFO farms and you know I
don't have to worry about it it's not
not hurting me it's in the air now
it's all over the planet and so you're
asking a very important question how do I
begin to push back the tide of this
insanity and so historically the richest
sources of copper on the planet were organ
meats and
So shellfish, mollusks, snails,
great source of copper, believe it or not.
What do you always put snails with?
Butter, great source of retinol.
What we're going to find out is that
retinol is what makes copper bioavailable.
Really, really important.
Seeds and nuts, very,
very important source of copper.
That's where the copper is in resonance,
is the seeds and the nuts.
And the broad leafy greens,
collard greens, beet greens,
mustard greens,
they're just a very rich source of copper
historically.
And one of the main reasons why I
developed this protocol,
the root cause protocol, it's really,
it's mother nature's protocol.
I just dusted it off.
My whole goal was to increase the
production of a critical copper protein
called ceruloplasmin.
No one's ever heard of that.
Very few doctors know what it is.
They would have learned it in school to
answer one question on their boards as it
relates to Wilson's disease.
But it's a very significant protein in our
body.
It has a thousand forty-six amino acids.
That's a beast.
Insulin has forty-five.
We know how powerful insulin is.
So,
it has six to eight copper atoms inside
it.
No other protein in our body has that
kind of methylation.
It's enormously important.
And so,
the protocol was developed to increase the
production of ceruloplasmin in the body.
And to your point,
how do I do that?
Well, we've got in the protocol,
we have a series of stops and starts.
And what will surprise people is to learn
what we're telling them to stop doing.
stop taking calcium supplements stop
taking iron supplements stop taking
vitamin d only supplements they're not
designed for your well-being even though
there's this overwhelming monolithic
evidence in the science what what's the
one thing they never talk talk about
Vitamin A.
A and D need to be taken together.
They're a tag team.
Frick and frack.
Abbott and Costello.
You don't just talk about Abbott and not
talk about Costello.
But you've got to stop the ascorbic acid.
It's a very toxic chemical.
It gets all sorts of praise.
But back in nineteen forty eight,
when Holmberg and Laurel,
two Swedish physiologists who discovered
ceruloplasma, well,
they thought they discovered the Holy
Grail and they had.
And that's why Big Pharma has been trying
to deep six it ever since.
But in their in their signature article in
nineteen forty eight,
they very clearly in the very first page
of the article talked about how ascorbic
acid is.
denatures ceruloplasmin.
Well,
that's a fancy word for blowing up
ceruloplasmin.
So the copper comes out,
and then it's unbound,
and then we're supposed to be afraid of
unbound copper.
So what we've developed is this protocol
with not just stops, but starts.
And we encourage people to begin to
remineralize their water,
make sure they're getting minerals
wherever possible in their diet,
focusing on restoring strength to the
adrenal glands,
and then beginning to supplement now with
copper.
I was initially,
probably for the first ten years of the
protocol,
i wasn't pushing copper i thought what we
would get it in our diet until i
began to really study the ravaging effect
of farming chemicals and technically
glyphosate is the ninth most toxic
chemical on the farm i don't even want
to think about what the other eight are
but but the thing is we're at a
point william where we need to be vigilant
about the quality of the food we eat
you know
absolutely organic coming from
regenerative farms would be ideal but
we've got to supplement our diet because
the food the soil doesn't have the
nutrients that we need and therefore the
food and therefore the human doesn't have
it and so what we're looking at basically
is
restoring minerals and vitamins,
especially vitamin A, retinol,
that got drummed out of our diet after
Eisenhower had his heart attack back in
the fifties.
We've got to restore whole food vitamin C,
not ascorbic acid.
They're very, very different.
And we've got to restore real B vitamins,
not synthetic B vitamins from a bottle.
Those were
The B vitamins that people are so
conditioned to taking,
they are coming from coal tar derivatives.
That's not a way to get your B
vitamins.
And so people don't realize the bait and
switch that's been occurring over the last
few decades to wink, wink, vitalize us,
get us to take those supplements.
And in fact,
there's a famous exchange that took place
in the Food and Drug Administration back
in the,
I think it was the late eighties and
early nineties,
where they wanted to outlaw supplements.
And just do away with them.
And Dr. Kessler,
who was the FDA commissioner at that time,
No, no, we're not going to eliminate.
We want it just the way it is.
We want people being thoroughly confused
about what to take.
And that's exactly where we are now,
especially post-COVID.
People don't realize the misdirection,
the misinformation,
the confusion that's out there is very,
very high.
You all are probably witnessing it in your
conversations with your colleagues,
family members.
keep followers as well and people don't
know which way to turn and And all
we're trying to do with the root cause
protocol is give people a viable
alternative to the Internet chatter that's
out there and basically what what the
Internet has become is just a compendium
of gossip a compendium of opinion and what
what I chose to do is use it
as a search engine to find the source
of
articles the peer-reviewed literature to
find out how does the body really work
and so we're we're faced with the way
i characterize is we're best off if we're
eating an ancestral diet like weston a
price recommended back in the thirties
following his decade of research around
the world looking for perfect teeth and
that we can remineralize our body we can
revitalize our body
But I think in a post-glyphosate world,
we have to be extra vigilant and we
need the nutrients that we talk about
within the root cause protocol.
Morley,
before we get into the root cause
protocol, you brought up a minute ago,
the big thing right now,
because I listen to a lot of health
podcasts and stuff like that,
as you mentioned a moment ago,
are these peptides.
And then when I hear everybody talking
about something, I instinctively think,
okay,
maybe I want to kind of step back
a minute and examine this.
But right alongside it is this thing that
for a while,
because I remember hearing Gary Brecka
talk about it,
Were these gene mutations like the COMT,
the MRR, the MTFR,
how does all of that, I mean,
I'm talking about the gene because I think
you've already covered the peptide thing,
but are these gene mutations anything to
be concerned about,
or is it just you get copper, right,
everything kind of falls in line?
We would like to think it's that simple.
I don't know that it is quite that
straightforward.
But when we're talking about gene defects,
we're really talking about variants.
We're not talking about completely
unavailable gene expression.
It's really the expression of the gene
that's important.
And so one of my mentors got his
MD, PhD at NIH,
which means he's one of the smartest
chimps on the planet.
Very,
very talented people go to NIH to get
their education.
He had occasion to meet with Dr. Watson,
James Watson of Watson and Crick fame,
who got the Nobel Prize for the double
helix.
So they were having a private audience.
And so Dr. Watson said, okay, Russ,
what do you want to know?
And Russ said, well,
I really want to understand the immutable
concrete-like nature of genes,
to which Dr.
Watson burst into belly laughter and said,
oh, Russ, that's for the little people.
They're turning on and off all the time.
Now, that's not mainstream awareness.
People think that, oh,
my doctor says I have MTHFR and I'm
screwed for life.
Eh, no.
When you really study the whole process of
developing
the methyl folate reductase enzyme it's
copper dependent it's absolutely copper
dependent and so could it be that if
copper is missing the body's incredibly
efficient and starts to change and become
a variant it's not as as effective as
it as if it were still working with
the copper
COMT, methyltransferase enzymes,
have a copper dependency.
Oh, wow.
We're beginning to hear a theme here,
aren't we?
And so these critical genes are just signs
of the hierarchy of where copper is in
our body.
And MTHFR,
a lot of people are affected by that.
I have people doing the protocol.
They're feeling great on just the
protocol.
They don't have to take methylated B
vitamins or whatever the buzz is.
And so I'm very dismissive about the gene
issue.
Because we're not getting the full story.
The gene jockeys want us to believe we're
broken.
No, we're not broken.
We're just not well nourished.
And I think that,
and there's some very powerful research to
back it up.
And what I've learned about with the PAM
enzyme that I referenced,
there was big research done back in, uh,
two thousand ten and twenty fourteen at
the University of Connecticut,
where a husband and wife team had been
studying
that enzyme for forty-five years.
One enzyme.
It had funding for forty-five years.
There's a story behind that.
And so they spent twenty years at Hopkins,
twenty-five years at UConn Medical Center.
Get it?
UConn?
Get it?
But they had two different graduate
students test how copper-sensitive the PAM
enzyme is.
And so what they did is they created
genes that were haploinsufficient,
which would create a defective expression
of the gene.
And they had rodents that were withheld
copper in their diet.
So both students did independent research,
but they were basically doing the exact
same research.
And so they had haploinsufficiency.
and copper deficiency.
And the expression of the PAM enzyme was
identical.
Then they did something that no one had
ever done before.
they fed the rodents copper to see how
it would change their expression.
And both the copper deficient animals and
the haploinsufficient animals had perfect
expression of the PAM enzyme.
Wow, what a change.
Another side of this is they've done
experiments to see what genes are turned
off and turned on by copper deficiency.
There's a holy grail around that research.
I've identified twenty-five different
genes that have altered expression just by
changing the availability of copper in the
diet.
And yet they would tell you that, oh,
all of those genes are defective now.
No, they're just hungry.
And so I don't want to leave people
with the impression that, oh, yeah,
just take copper and everything will be
fine.
But don't fall prey to this idea that
you're broken because you have an
expression of COMT or variant of COMT.
And so people need to be alert.
emboldened by this message that, wow,
you mean the quality of my diet,
the quality of my supplements can help
restore my expression?
Absolutely can.
And the other thing we've got to deal
with is the stress.
People are still waiting for the other
shoe to fall from COVID.
Everyone's kind of lurking around
wondering what's next.
And that's not a healthy way to live.
And the dilemma we've got is that when
we're under stress,
Do you all know anyone who's under stress?
Like everyone on the planet, right?
So when we're under stress,
there's a hormone that gets released.
Everyone's all keyed up about bioidentical
hormones.
Oh, my testosterone, my estrogen,
my progesterone.
But no one's talking about hepcidin,
H-E-P-C-I-D-I-N.
one of the most powerful hormones in the
body.
And what does it do?
It shuts down iron recycling.
And then we got a problem.
As iron gets sequestered and stored within
the tissue, it festers.
And by festering,
I mean it creates oxidative stress,
which means energy production drops,
which means I've got fatigue at a cellular
level and things don't work right.
Do your cell phones work when there's no
energy?
No.
And so those forty seven hundred signaling
peptides, they don't work without energy.
And so there's a lot of communication that
needs to take place inside our body.
And it's dependent upon signaling and
energy and the elimination of oxidative
stress.
And so people need to realize that, yeah,
you can have these variants,
but you can also have a normal life
as well.
And you just need to be disciplined about
moving beyond the pablum that you find on
the internet
get to a higher level of information
that's talking about how the body really
works,
not how they want you to think it
works,
and give people the opportunity to take
control of their health.
Because I can assure you that our
ancestors didn't have an ologist for every
part of their body working with them.
They didn't have the time or the money
for that.
They made sure they had good food and
they dealt with their stress.
And so I think we're
Dealing with the exact same challenges
today,
but it's harder to find real food and
the stress is unrelenting.
And people need to realize that that
stress is creating oxidative stress.
The minute you perceive you have stress in
your world,
you have oxidative stress undermining your
energy in your body.
And the immune system begins to just auger
down and it can't respond to the threat,
whatever it might be,
when there's a low energy response.
Wow.
So does anything like that?
Does that make sense?
Yeah.
Yeah, it totally makes sense.
Yeah.
All right.
Is there any benefit to using like copper
cups or pans or bracelets or anything like
that to increase the amount of
bioavailable copper in your body?
Or is that just useful in other ways?
Well,
you're not going to do any harm by
using those utensils or bracelets or
whatever.
But you're not going to restore
physiological levels of copper.
So to put it in orders of magnitude,
In the nineteen thirties,
they were very meticulous about studying
diet and what were the nutrients found in
the diet back in that era.
And what they discovered is that people
were getting four to six milligrams of
copper per day just in a natural diet,
standard diet here in North America.
By the nineteen sixties,
that number had dropped to two to five,
not a big drop, but a drop nonetheless.
And today, the RDA,
recommended daily allowance for copper,
is .
nine milligrams per day.
Wow.
I mentioned my grandfather, Dada.
He was born in a farm in Frederick,
Maryland.
He was a very vital guy.
I'm now seventy-three.
He was seventy-two the day I was born.
And I have this vivid memory of when
I was twenty years old.
This was about a year before he passed.
he had a big hill on his property
that always had weeds.
So we had to go out on the
hill and pull the weeds.
And I'm just aching and just complaining
about how hot it is.
And Dada was like a machine just pulling
the weeds out.
And he's just looking at me like, oh,
my gosh, what happened?
And so now I'm his age,
but I'm revitalized.
And now I know where his energy was
coming from.
And people don't realize how different
life was two, three, four generations ago.
and how resilient our ancestors were.
What does resiliency mean?
It means we're able to make energy in
the face of stress.
Now what happens when we're stressed out?
We cave, we collapse,
we can't respond because we can't properly
mineralize our mitochondria to do their
job.
And so I think it's important for people
to realize that the blueprint that runs
our body
loves energy it really digs energy and and
we've got to step back from this idea
that we're broken no we're out of balance
and our diet isn't right our capacity to
deal with stress isn't right and we've got
a lot of stuff being thrown at us
i'm not denying that
But I think even with all of that,
our body has this, I think,
limitless capacity to fillet the stuff
that they're throwing at us.
But it takes discipline.
It really takes discipline.
And this idea that suddenly we're going to
solve our problems with peptides or stem
cells or whatever the intervention du jour
is,
That's not successful thinking because
they're going to go out of favor.
And those interventions are not
inexpensive.
And they work as long as you do
them.
But the minute you stop doing them,
you're right back to where you were.
And so I think it's important to
remineralize from within and not be
relying on external forces like a cup or
a bracelet or some other technique that
might be in play.
Morley, to that point,
we live in our number one export in
this country,
and a lot of folks don't know it.
Believe it or not,
it's soil that goes down to the
Mississippi every single year.
We have no topsoil.
When Lewis and Clark did their thing,
there was ten feet of topsoil all over
this country,
which means we had biocomplete compost
down there.
We had legit stuff where people could
really feel like supermen and women based
on what they ate.
Well,
we no longer live in that world as
you described.
So let's maybe get into what you do
suggest in terms of the root cause
protocol.
It's one thing to identify the problems.
This is so much what I love about
your work is, you know,
it's the philosophy between William and I
that we never,
tell you about a problem without at least
proposing a couple of solutions at the
same time.
And you've done that very thing.
In fact, you've done a number of them.
So for all the people that are out
there realizing, okay,
I'm in a toxic world,
don't have enough copper,
where did they start?
What should they do?
Well, what I typically tell clients,
the very first thing I tell them is
go on an internet diet for a month.
Stop running to the internet.
And that's not an easy thing for people
to do today, as you can imagine.
Now AI is the rage.
Oh,
everyone's all excited about artificial
intelligence.
Well,
AI actually stands for always incomplete.
You're never going to get a good answer.
And what I've also done is flipped it
around and tell people what they need to
really be worried about.
It's not AI.
Be worried about IA,
iron accumulation in their body.
I encourage people to get out their
calculator right now and do the math.
Punch in your age and multiply it times
three sixty five.
So I'm seventy three times three sixty
five.
Got about twenty six thousand milligrams
of iron in my body.
This is not my formula.
This is the formula that all iron
biologists use around the planet.
Age times three sixty five.
Men are designed for five thousand
milligrams.
Women are designed for four thousand
milligrams.
And when you have a multiple four times,
five times,
six times what you're designed for,
it takes a toll on the body.
I look very differently today at seventy
three than I did when I was twenty
three.
And every change that's occurred,
I used to have red curly hair.
It doesn't look as red, does it?
But but the thing is,
All aspects of aging are caused by iron
accumulation, period.
Iron causes aging.
copper causes longevity.
And for the really sophisticated plant
farmers out there,
where is the copper hanging out in your
plants?
It's all in the new growth, right?
That's exactly where it is.
It's critical for the new growth.
And so when we were younger,
we had a lower iron content
and a fairly stable copper content.
And what happens as we age is the
iron just keeps rising and it overwhelms
the copper metabolism in our body.
Again, it's not my theory.
It's in the literature.
It's in volumes of the literature.
which is behind a Chinese wall,
because in universities,
they have two areas of focus.
They have the research side, Chinese wall,
medical classrooms.
And the doctors don't know to climb that
Chinese wall and get back to the research
that's being done down the hall,
proving that copper is essential for your
well-being.
So the other side of it, though, is
The meme that runs medicine on the planet
is you're anemic and you're copper toxic.
And that has a very powerful sway on
people.
I grew up to Geritol ads back in
the fifties,
watching What's My Line and Lawrence Welk.
Geritol,
that was the rage back then because
everyone had iron-poor blood.
Wink, wink, right?
And if I were Satan,
that's exactly what I'd want you to
believe is that you're anemic.
Well,
it turns out that there's two forms of
anemia.
There's...
absolute iron deficiency you've been in a
car accident or you've been in a gunshot
and you're bleeding out you are going to
be absolutely iron deficient but the vast
majority of anemia is called functional
iron deficiency and the body has an iron
recycling program so that every second of
every day we've been talking now for a
good long while but every second of every
day
We need to turn over two and a
half million red blood cells every second.
That's a lot of red blood cells.
And in the course of twenty four hours,
it's two hundred billion red blood cells.
Now,
what's fascinating about that is it only
takes twenty five milligrams of iron to
replace two hundred billion red blood
cells.
Twenty-five milligrams is so tiny.
It more than fits on the head of
a one-inch stick pen.
It's a very, very tiny amount of iron.
And the most important part,
which will shock you,
is to find out that twenty-four of the
twenty-five milligrams that you need every
day to replace two hundred billion red
blood cells,
which is only one percent of your blood,
by the way,
Twenty-four of the twenty-five milligrams
comes from this iron recycling system
that's run by copper.
Oh, I never heard that before.
And only one milligram is supposed to come
from our mouth, from our diet.
And what has medicine done?
They've flipped the narrative.
They want you thinking you need
twenty-four milligrams from your mouth,
and they don't talk about the iron
recycling at all.
It's very unsettling because it kills the
mean of your anemic.
And trust me,
the more iron you have in your diet,
fortified foods,
they're very prevalent in the
supermarkets.
The more iron you have in your diet,
the more iron you're going to have in
your body.
Even though you may show anemic on a
blood test,
so it's low on the blood test,
it's high in your tissue because the iron
recycling system isn't working right and
that's the that's the part that people
don't know about is that iron is slowly
accumulating every day while they're on
the planet and it's blocking the signaling
the metabolism the energy production
that's so critical
And so people need to be aware of
the fact that they've been fortifying our
food with iron since nineteen forty one.
during the Second World War was when
England, Canada, and the U.S.
started putting iron filings in the wheat
flour.
Wow.
Now it's eighty countries worldwide,
eighty countries.
It's over half the countries on the planet
are now fortifying their flours with iron.
Get it?
Get it?
Because you're anemic.
Get it?
Get it?
and people don't realize that all of that
the vast majority of that is because they
don't have adequate copper to ensure the
proper recycling of iron in the body
during that daily process and so iron has
a it's we can't live without it i'm
not i'm not saying stop taking iron
because we absolutely need it but we
copper is the general and iron is the
foot soldier
You don't need to be in the military
to know the difference between generals
and foot soldiers.
But if you're not really clear about it,
just read what Patton did back in December
of,
he changed world history by what he did
as a general.
And so the thing is,
we need that powerful force of copper to
regulate the iron.
And we can move in that direction with
our diet,
but then we can really close the loop
with the protocol.
And I think people just need to know
that we have much more discretion over
what we eat than we realize.
And we have to make choices.
We have to make some tough choices.
And one of the hardest things for people
to give up is their penchant for sweets.
Because what is sugar?
It's white iron.
Sugar has a capacity to increase iron
inside the body.
And that's a serious problem for a lot
of people.
I mentioned that some genes are turned on
and turned off.
But one of the genes that's turned off
by copper deficiency is a gene called
fetuin, F-E-T-U-I-N.
I'd never heard of it.
I imagine you haven't.
Your listeners are like,
what's he talking about now?
Well,
fetal A protein is really critical for the
signaling for the insulin receptors.
And in copper deficiency,
fetal A goes crazy.
And it disrupts the signaling for the
capture of insulin on the insulin
receptors.
What I'm trying to tell you is that
when you have a copper deficiency,
which most people have,
and a lot of people have blood sugar
issues, right?
It's one small gene that's being tweaked
by the lack of copper.
Oh,
it's an expression issue that's causing
type two diabetes.
It's in the literature from a study done
in nineteen ninety nine.
I was absolutely stunned by that when I
found it about six months ago.
And so now I'm on the prowl for
what are the other genes that are being
down-regulated or up-regulated?
And it's very tough information to find,
I can assure you.
The thing is,
what people need to realize is that the
body has incredible capacity to rebuild
itself,
to re-energize itself,
to revitalize itself,
when it's being given the proper diet,
base diet, and nutrients.
And I think it's something that is
certainly central to farming.
When you're feeding the soil so the plants
grow and you're feeding the animals with
the right nutrients,
it's all designed to optimize the health
and the vitality of the produce that
you're making.
Well,
we've kind of skipped the step for humans
and we've lost track of how important the
food is and how important the nutrients
are.
The challenge we've got is we're being
hammered daily with take this, take that.
And most of what's being recommended by
the internet is going to work against the
innate healing of the body.
And that's really the basis of the
protocol.

which is what they did in and we
all know what happened.
If you want to destroy your computer,
take all the silver out of your
motherboard.
It won't work.
you want to destroy the human take copper
out of the diet and that's exactly where
we find ourselves those are the noble
metals copper silver and and gold they're
very very important in their own right but
don't think that this isn't an
orchestrated program to make you dependent
And what we're all about in the root
cause protocol is sovereignty.
We want independence.
And I think that's really what we're meant
to be and where we're meant to serve.
And hopefully,
it'll be of benefit to those who decide
to do this.
