<v Speaker 1>This was not a good show tonight, and Summer Slam
<v Speaker 1>is tomorrow night, or at least Night one is. Night
<v Speaker 1>one is the stronger of the two nights on paper,
<v Speaker 1>easily by far. The best parts of this show were
<v Speaker 1>everything involving Nick Aldus, the return of Haku, and the
<v Speaker 1>closing credits which meant that the show was over. Those
<v Speaker 1>are the best parts of SmackDown. We did have one
<v Speaker 1>last face to face though, in the closing segment with
<v Speaker 1>Cody Rhodes and Cmpunk. That is our main event for
<v Speaker 1>Night one, and they were trying to really drive home
<v Speaker 1>the fact that these two they don't like each other
<v Speaker 1>all of a sudden and they've been at each other's throats,
<v Speaker 1>and we had a big pull apart brawl and they
<v Speaker 1>were throwing they were throwing shots at each other, and
<v Speaker 1>we went off the air with a kind of a
<v Speaker 1>wild brawl between them. I was looking forward to this match,
<v Speaker 1>and look, I still think that they will go out
<v Speaker 1>there tomorrow night and have a very good wrestling match.
<v Speaker 1>I'm still optimistic about the main event that we are
<v Speaker 1>going to get tomorrow. And I didn't think that they
<v Speaker 1>needed a terribly long period of time to really put
<v Speaker 1>this match together, because again, they've kept them apart. There's
<v Speaker 1>not a lot of history there. So whether you gave
<v Speaker 1>them three weeks, four weeks, eight weeks, you know, it
<v Speaker 1>really wouldn't have made that much of a difference. What
<v Speaker 1>matters is what do you do in those three weeks
<v Speaker 1>or four weeks when you're putting this match together. And
<v Speaker 1>now that we're here and this was the go home segment,
<v Speaker 1>it leaves a lot to be desired because really, what
<v Speaker 1>we've gotten here to spark the feud, to light the fuse,
<v Speaker 1>so to speak. We had the errant belt shot at
<v Speaker 1>Saturday night's main event, which was like, Okay, I guess
<v Speaker 1>if we're going to use that as the spark for
<v Speaker 1>this thing. Sure, And then they showed footage from a
<v Speaker 1>house show yesterday. Now didn't that currect me if I'm wrong?
<v Speaker 1>Didn't Cody Road say that he had a gift for
<v Speaker 1>CM Punk at the live event on Thursday night? Isn't
<v Speaker 1>that what we heard last week was the Well maybe
<v Speaker 1>this was the gift. I mean the gift was CM
<v Speaker 1>punk went. They were celebrating after their win and CM
<v Speaker 1>Punk was standing right there and when Cody turned Punk
<v Speaker 1>basically came up from behind him, went to go tap him,
<v Speaker 1>and Cody gave him the most telegraphed back elbow you'll
<v Speaker 1>ever see. Maybe that was the gift that he was
<v Speaker 1>referring to. I don't know, but it felt very forced.
<v Speaker 1>And that's the word I keep coming back to when
<v Speaker 1>I think about what we've gotten between these two over
<v Speaker 1>the last few weeks. Forced, you know, I mean, I
<v Speaker 1>was I was kind of hoping that as great as
<v Speaker 1>they are when it comes to promos and Punk, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>we know what kind of promo that Punk is, obviously,
<v Speaker 1>Cody one he's on his A game is also a
<v Speaker 1>great promo. And I was kind of hoping that, you know,
<v Speaker 1>we would get some stuff, you know, from them that
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, would really kind of light a fire
<v Speaker 1>under them and this would come off as some sort
<v Speaker 1>of hot feud. But we didn't get that. And so
<v Speaker 1>now we're going into this match this week and I'm
<v Speaker 1>not as fired up for it as I was kind
<v Speaker 1>of hoping I would be. And maybe it is the
<v Speaker 1>first match and we get a second one, and going
<v Speaker 1>into the second one, things were a little bit different.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, I don't know how quickly after this
<v Speaker 1>one we're going to get the second one, but it
<v Speaker 1>was not enough, certainly to save what otherwise, you know,
<v Speaker 1>in my opinion, was a bad show. We've had a
<v Speaker 1>lot of those unfortunately on SmackDown this year. But that
<v Speaker 1>closing segment didn't really change my mind of everything else
<v Speaker 1>that we got here. And yes, I'm glad that you
<v Speaker 1>pointed that as somebody mentioned the jacket Cody Rhodes. It
<v Speaker 1>was actually very emblematic I think of Cody and his
<v Speaker 1>position in the company that Cody came out for the
<v Speaker 1>closing segment tonight in his Club WWE jacket. It wasn't
<v Speaker 1>really a Club ww jacket, but he had a Club
<v Speaker 1>WWE patch on his jacket like a good little soldier
<v Speaker 1>because today was launch day for Club WWE got to
<v Speaker 1>remind everybody of that you gotta wear the patch. I
<v Speaker 1>didn't see that patch on cm punks jacket. He's the
<v Speaker 1>WWE champion, but Cody Rhodes had that Club WWE patch
<v Speaker 1>right there. But anyway, that was the closing segment. Lash Legend,
<v Speaker 1>as I told you she would be. Lash Legend is
<v Speaker 1>in the interim Women's Championship Ladder match on Sunday, The
<v Speaker 1>completely unnecessary interim title match that we're going to be getting.
<v Speaker 1>The field of five has now been set, Charlotte Flair,
<v Speaker 1>Jade Cargill, who do we have, Tiffany Stratton, Chelsea Green,
<v Speaker 1>and now lash Legend She is officially in, even though
<v Speaker 1>Naya Jacks really got hosed if you think about how
<v Speaker 1>things have played out with her qualifying matches over the
<v Speaker 1>last couple of weeks, and then Adam Pierce's big decision
<v Speaker 1>was to put lash In there instead of Naya. Again,
<v Speaker 1>I'm not advocating for Nya Jacks to be in the
<v Speaker 1>ladder match. I'd rather have Lash in then then Naya
<v Speaker 1>in the situation, but the whole thing was just very,
<v Speaker 1>very silly. Meanwhile, details on the funeral service for Julia
<v Speaker 1>will be shared once that information becomes available. So once
<v Speaker 1>I have that information, I will be able to pass
<v Speaker 1>it along to all of you and then we can
<v Speaker 1>all join. Maybe if you can't be there in person,
<v Speaker 1>perhaps you can zoom in. I'll try to provide the
<v Speaker 1>zoom link if one is provided, and maybe we could
<v Speaker 1>all say a few words for the career of Julia
<v Speaker 1>in WWE, which, if it wasn't over, already came to
<v Speaker 1>an abrupt end. Tonight about two minutes, so we have
<v Speaker 1>that as well on the show. I will have some
<v Speaker 1>news to share a little bit later on from this
<v Speaker 1>week's Observer as it relates to Randy Orton and Kevin
<v Speaker 1>Owens and their potential returns to Wwe save that for
<v Speaker 1>later and we'll go through the rest of this show.
<v Speaker 1>Not a whole lot to get excited about, but this
<v Speaker 1>is your Friday Night SmackDown review. Even when we have
<v Speaker 1>a bad night of SmackDown, we try to have a
<v Speaker 1>good night here on the sound Thoff. That's what my
<v Speaker 1>goal is for tonight. It is Friday. It is the
<v Speaker 1>last Friday, the last day of July. July thirty first,
<v Speaker 1>there is no July thirty second. Twenty twenty six. I
<v Speaker 1>am the solemn Monster. Like and subscribe. Super chats are open.
<v Speaker 1>I've had a few of them come on in before
<v Speaker 1>I went live tonight, so I will be reading those
<v Speaker 1>and any new ones that come in. Ban T twenty
<v Speaker 1>one says SmackDown drew forty five hundrehundred people tonight. That
<v Speaker 1>was in Green Bay. Yeah, that's a far cry from
<v Speaker 1>what they did in that building the last time they
<v Speaker 1>were there. Don't know if they care. Don't know if
<v Speaker 1>they care. I'm sure ticket prices were probably elevated from
<v Speaker 1>what they were last time. For all I know, they
<v Speaker 1>made more money tonight than they did before, and they
<v Speaker 1>may have had twice as many people in the building
<v Speaker 1>last time. I don't know. It's certainly indicative of something,
<v Speaker 1>whether or not WWE is getting the message. I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>They're expecting in the range of thirty five thousand people
<v Speaker 1>for each night of Summer Slam this weekend, ordinarily a
<v Speaker 1>very healthy crowd, far cry from what they had at
<v Speaker 1>MetLife Stadium last year. We're off the peak people, they
<v Speaker 1>already peaked. We'll see where we are for Summer Slam
<v Speaker 1>next year. If Summer Slam even stays two nights next year,
<v Speaker 1>I'm sure it will. I'm sure it will. They would
<v Speaker 1>much rather try to get it combined sixty five or
<v Speaker 1>seventy thousand people than have one night of thirty or forty.
<v Speaker 1>So I think the two nights Summer slams are here
<v Speaker 1>to stay. But again, get those super chats on in.
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to bring up the wheel and we're going
<v Speaker 1>to find out here if if we are going to
<v Speaker 1>do be the booker tonight I guarantee you that if
<v Speaker 1>we do be the booker tonight, I will book a
<v Speaker 1>better show than the one they gave you. That I
<v Speaker 1>can guarantee, But I don't know if that's going to
<v Speaker 1>be happening. We need five hundred and fifty likes. We
<v Speaker 1>are at two hundred right now. You know, we didn't
<v Speaker 1>do it on Wednesday. We did it on Monday. We
<v Speaker 1>didn't do it on Wednesday. We may not do it
<v Speaker 1>tonight either. It's a good thing we have Summer Slam
<v Speaker 1>this weekend. Would it be admitting defeat if they went
<v Speaker 1>back to one night of SummerSlam, I don't know. I
<v Speaker 1>mean they're not going heating against anybody. I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>If I would call it defeat, I would say that
<v Speaker 1>it's it would be an admission that business is not
<v Speaker 1>what he used to be. How about it? How about it? Indeed,
<v Speaker 1>venom KOTETSI thank you. That was his idea. By the way,
<v Speaker 1>saw the recent Valvenus footage, no hair and just the beard.
<v Speaker 1>Now he looks like road dog. Curious but worrying. I
<v Speaker 1>haven't worried about anything Valvenus related in about twenty seven
<v Speaker 1>or twenty eight years. I know this footage out there
<v Speaker 1>of him gyrating. I have no interest in seeing it,
<v Speaker 1>especially you know, I'm a few hours away from bedtime.
<v Speaker 1>It's the last thing I want to have on my mind.
<v Speaker 1>Sammy's Ain and Finn Balor they're going to be having
<v Speaker 1>a match this Sunday at SummerSlam. To open the show tonight,
<v Speaker 1>we had let me get rid of the wheel here.
<v Speaker 1>To open the show tonight, we had Finn Ballard. Now
<v Speaker 1>I've called him win Baler recently instead of Pinballer because
<v Speaker 1>he's actually been stringing together some victories. I know this
<v Speaker 1>won't last very long, but he's on a bit of
<v Speaker 1>a hot streak. So he came out to the ring
<v Speaker 1>to open the show and he talked about how every
<v Speaker 1>time Summer Slim season rolls around, he can't help but
<v Speaker 1>think back to twenty sixteen. That was the year where
<v Speaker 1>he won the Universal Championship. In fact, he was the
<v Speaker 1>first ever Universal champion. He was on the highest of
<v Speaker 1>highs when he won the title that night, but it
<v Speaker 1>was also followed by the lowest of lows when an
<v Speaker 1>injury forced him to relinquish the belt, which was only
<v Speaker 1>twenty four hours later. And now here we are in
<v Speaker 1>twenty twenty six. Baler says he spent years scratching and
<v Speaker 1>clawing trying to reach those heights again, and with the
<v Speaker 1>Ballor Club behind him, they were so close to getting back.
<v Speaker 1>So what is the stronger club? Ballor club or club WWA,
<v Speaker 1>Sammy's ain't interrupted the last real good guy justice for
<v Speaker 1>Sammy had his T shirt on and Sammy said he'd look.
<v Speaker 1>He understood that this was a very emotional time for Ballor,
<v Speaker 1>but there were things that he needed to get off
<v Speaker 1>his chest, and he bitched and moaned about CM Punk
<v Speaker 1>and Cody Rhodes having their match and how it should
<v Speaker 1>be a triple threat tomorrow. Night talked about how he
<v Speaker 1>wanted Cody Roads to win at SummerSlam for the simple
<v Speaker 1>reason that he already beat him once and he knows
<v Speaker 1>he can do it again, but there was a small
<v Speaker 1>part of him that also wanted CM Punk to win,
<v Speaker 1>and he called him a hypocrite for becoming a corporate
<v Speaker 1>poster boy. Oh I don't know. I mean, he wasn't
<v Speaker 1>the one with the club WWE patch on his jacket. Tonight,
<v Speaker 1>Baller took issue with Sammy, saying that he respects him
<v Speaker 1>because Sammy was very deferential to him at first, and
<v Speaker 1>he did say that, he did say that he respected him.
<v Speaker 1>Ballot told Sammy, look, you gotta grow some balls. Come
<v Speaker 1>down to the ring to talk, because Sammy was talking
<v Speaker 1>from the stage. And Sammy said, you know what, I will.
<v Speaker 1>I owe you that much, and he came down to
<v Speaker 1>the ring and he climbed inside. He said that everyone
<v Speaker 1>knows how great Balor is and he probably should have
<v Speaker 1>been w W E champion four or five times by now.
<v Speaker 1>And then he corrected himself and he said, well, maybe
<v Speaker 1>more like two or three times. But he said, look,
<v Speaker 1>you had your time. This is my time now. Sammy
<v Speaker 1>said it's bigger than him and Balor, though he said
<v Speaker 1>it's about justice. Balor said justice? What about my justice?
<v Speaker 1>What about what about Balor's justice? I'm sitting here thinking
<v Speaker 1>what about Sid justice? Sid would if Sid came out
<v Speaker 1>right now, and then Sid would crush these two. Sid
<v Speaker 1>would absolutely crush these two. Actually, now that I think
<v Speaker 1>about it, I think Sammy's ain actually owns one of
<v Speaker 1>the more annoying spots that I've ever seen in my life.
<v Speaker 1>And I don't remember what independent show it was from,
<v Speaker 1>but many years ago, in the El Generico, days because
<v Speaker 1>supposedly Sammy's ain. It's never been confirmed, but he may
<v Speaker 1>have been under the l Generico mask. I can't prove it, though,
<v Speaker 1>but there was some kind of match and I think
<v Speaker 1>Sid right power bombed Generico and he totally no sold it.
<v Speaker 1>I wish I could remember all the details, but just
<v Speaker 1>I mentioned Sid just now and it made me think
<v Speaker 1>of that. So, yeah, they're talking about Justice. I'm thinking
<v Speaker 1>about Sid Justice. I'm thinking about anything but the fucking
<v Speaker 1>show that I'm watching here. So Sammy said, look, it's
<v Speaker 1>been ten years and Balor never came close, so maybe
<v Speaker 1>he should take the hint. Balor said the title or
<v Speaker 1>he held the title and it got taken away from
<v Speaker 1>him due to injury. In Sammy's case, he had the
<v Speaker 1>championship and the reason he lost it is because he
<v Speaker 1>lost fair and square. Sammy said, well, those sound like
<v Speaker 1>fighting words. He said, if Balor was anybody else, he
<v Speaker 1>would drop him, but he said he's not gonna do
<v Speaker 1>that because he's the last real good guy. Said that
<v Speaker 1>he would walk away. He would see Baller at Summerslim.
<v Speaker 1>So before he could walk away, Gunther enters the ring
<v Speaker 1>from behind Balor and knocks Ballor into Zayanne and because
<v Speaker 1>you know, he took great issue with them talking about
<v Speaker 1>being the number one contender for the WWE Championship, which
<v Speaker 1>is what they're fighting for this weekend. He says he's
<v Speaker 1>the true number one contender. Adam Pierce comes out onto
<v Speaker 1>the stage. He's got security with him. He's talking about
<v Speaker 1>gun there and what are you doing and Gunther he
<v Speaker 1>approaches Pierce and he says he's doing what he has
<v Speaker 1>to do to get what's rightfully his. And he went
<v Speaker 1>to Pierce and said, what do I have to do?
<v Speaker 1>Do I have to beat your ass too? So Baler
<v Speaker 1>runs down the aisle. He hits Gunther from behind. Sammy
<v Speaker 1>then tossed Balor aside. He starts attacking Gunther. Baller grabs Sammy.
<v Speaker 1>They start trading shots until Gunther clotheslined them both ran
<v Speaker 1>them into the barricade. Nick All this shows up and
<v Speaker 1>he attacks gun Thro in the aisle. He tosses him
<v Speaker 1>into the ring. This he ends up putting him down
<v Speaker 1>and locking him in a Texas clover leaf, and the
<v Speaker 1>crowd was given this a nice ovation. Pierce in the
<v Speaker 1>security guards they intervened. They pulled all this to the
<v Speaker 1>corner and ed Gunther took a cheap shot at him.
<v Speaker 1>Both guys had to be separated. I like the segment
<v Speaker 1>in this regard. They did I think a decent job
<v Speaker 1>here of pushing two matches in one segment. So you
<v Speaker 1>had a very basic back and forth, you know, dialogue
<v Speaker 1>here between Sammy and Finn. Again, there's not a whole
<v Speaker 1>lot to talk about because this is not some long
<v Speaker 1>drawn out feud. It's this number one contenders match that
<v Speaker 1>was just kind of put together randomly a week ago.
<v Speaker 1>So there's no real history between these two, not recently anyway.
<v Speaker 1>And what they said was what you would expect them
<v Speaker 1>to say, right, they kind of took shots at each other.
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to be number one contender. No, I'm going
<v Speaker 1>to be number one contender. Sammy's doing his bit where
<v Speaker 1>you know, again justice for Sammy. I've been screwed and
<v Speaker 1>now I'm going to get what's mine. See that's what
<v Speaker 1>you got. But then Gunther comes in and they weaved
<v Speaker 1>it right on into guntherro and Nick all this. So
<v Speaker 1>I like what they did. They're all this and there
<v Speaker 1>was more stuff later on with all this, the limited
<v Speaker 1>stuff that we got regarding Nick all this on this
<v Speaker 1>show was some of the best parts of the show.
<v Speaker 1>And I don't know how many of you saw the
<v Speaker 1>interview that he did with Chris van Vliet, but in
<v Speaker 1>the course of the interview, Chris was, you know, talking
<v Speaker 1>to him about this match that's coming up, but why
<v Speaker 1>it means so much to him and all this guy
<v Speaker 1>very emotional. He couldn't even speak for like it felt
<v Speaker 1>like a minute straight. He was trying to compose himself.
<v Speaker 1>He was crying. He had tears in his eyes, and
<v Speaker 1>he said, this is his one shot and I've said
<v Speaker 1>it before, like this is a moment for him that
<v Speaker 1>he has been waiting for for many, many years. He
<v Speaker 1>never wanted to come to WWE with the idea of
<v Speaker 1>being a general manager or any kind of manager, right.
<v Speaker 1>He wanted to wrestle in TNA. He was a wrestler
<v Speaker 1>TNA World Heavyweight Champion in the NWA. He's been five
<v Speaker 1>years in the NWA combined over a thousand days working
<v Speaker 1>for Billy Corgan is the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion. Wrestle
<v Speaker 1>Cody roades at the first all in in fact in
<v Speaker 1>an NWA title match to come to WWE and not
<v Speaker 1>be a GM, right, he wanted to be a wrestler.
<v Speaker 1>They didn't have any interest in him at that time
<v Speaker 1>in that role. They had a specific role for him.
<v Speaker 1>Over the last three years, he's taken that role and
<v Speaker 1>I think he's knocked it out of the park. He's
<v Speaker 1>done very well with it. I still see this as
<v Speaker 1>being a one off for the time being. I don't
<v Speaker 1>really have any expectation that this is going to be
<v Speaker 1>a regular thing and they're just going to find the
<v Speaker 1>new GM and all. This is just going to be
<v Speaker 1>a wrestler from now on. But I think if all
<v Speaker 1>goes well tomorrow, this will absolutely lead to more in
<v Speaker 1>ring opportunities for him and he'll probably end up back
<v Speaker 1>in the GM role, which I think is still the
<v Speaker 1>right role for him. But it all depends on how
<v Speaker 1>things go tomorrow. And I'm look, I'm pulling for him.
<v Speaker 1>I hope everything goes well. I hope the two of
<v Speaker 1>them go out there and they have a killer match
<v Speaker 1>and then one match begets two, two begats three and
<v Speaker 1>so on and so forth, because that was always the
<v Speaker 1>guy's dream. He's not getting any younger. If he's going
<v Speaker 1>to get in the ring and he's going to do stuff,
<v Speaker 1>now's the time to do it. He's got a whole
<v Speaker 1>roster of people to work with, who in most cases
<v Speaker 1>he's not ever worked with before, worked with Cody. Beyond Cody,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I have to go back and check. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know who else on the current roster he would
<v Speaker 1>have been in the ring with. But I'm sure that
<v Speaker 1>number is not very great. But this match legit not
<v Speaker 1>as like a wrestling promo or storyline. This match means
<v Speaker 1>a lot to him. He's got a lot riding on
<v Speaker 1>this match. He's got a lot of pressure on him
<v Speaker 1>that I'm sure he's putting on himself for this match tomorrow,
<v Speaker 1>and I'm looking forward to that. As far as Balor
<v Speaker 1>and Sammy, I've got Balor winning on Sunday. I think
<v Speaker 1>what they also did here is they set things up
<v Speaker 1>perfectly because again I think Baler's going to win. He's
<v Speaker 1>going to become the number one contender. I think coming
<v Speaker 1>out of this weekend, they've set things in motion for
<v Speaker 1>a program between Balor and Gunther. The match that we
<v Speaker 1>were deprived of six years ago because of the pandemic
<v Speaker 1>was supposed to happen in Dublin. He was still Walter
<v Speaker 1>at the time and we never got that match. Now,
<v Speaker 1>I think since then they've wrestled maybe once on TV.
<v Speaker 1>But now we have a chance to have a proper
<v Speaker 1>feud between them, because I've asked that question in recent
<v Speaker 1>weeks as I go over it in my head, like, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>we get to Summer Slam, Gunther is going to beat
<v Speaker 1>all this. Anything else to me is ridiculous, especially if
<v Speaker 1>all this is not going to be a full time performer.
<v Speaker 1>What the hell does he need to win for? But
<v Speaker 1>then coming out of Summer Slim, it's like, well, where
<v Speaker 1>do you go with Gunther? You know, he was doing
<v Speaker 1>the WWE title thing for a while. It feels to
<v Speaker 1>me like he's going to be out of that picture
<v Speaker 1>for a bit. I've given up on speculating about when
<v Speaker 1>we're going to get Ilia Dragonov back. I'm sure he'll
<v Speaker 1>be back at some point. It could be next week,
<v Speaker 1>it could be next year. I'm done. I'm done wondering
<v Speaker 1>about it. If Gunther is still on the SmackDown roster
<v Speaker 1>when Dragonov eventually comes back, it's a natural feud, right
<v Speaker 1>It would be a sin for them to be on
<v Speaker 1>the same ross her and for WWE to never go
<v Speaker 1>in that direction without knowing when he's going to be back, though.
<v Speaker 1>I got my eyes on Gunther and Balor. I think
<v Speaker 1>that could be where we're headed. After SummerSlam, we had
<v Speaker 1>Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green taking on Beefab and Meechin
<v Speaker 1>the Batties in tag team action here with Jade Cargill
<v Speaker 1>in their corner. Stratton got a hot tag. About midway through,
<v Speaker 1>she dropped meechin with the floatover cartwheel Alabama Slam went
<v Speaker 1>up top for the swanton bomb. Meechin, though kicked out
<v Speaker 1>it two Jay took Tiffany out on the outside through
<v Speaker 1>or right into the steel steps back inside, Chelsea got
<v Speaker 1>Meechin with a drop kick. Beefab, though tagged in, and
<v Speaker 1>the two of them put her down with their finish.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't catch the name of their finish. They haven't
<v Speaker 1>teamed together very often enough for them to even establish
<v Speaker 1>a real tag team finish. Whatever it is that they
<v Speaker 1>were able to pick up the wind. So they were
<v Speaker 1>celebrating when the match was over and they were interrupted
<v Speaker 1>by Charlotte Flair's music and Charlotte Flair walks out. She's
<v Speaker 1>wearing a jacket. Now I know they were in Green Bay.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know what the current temperature is in Green Bay.
<v Speaker 1>How how cold could Green Bay possibly be? We're at
<v Speaker 1>the beginning of August. However, it is Charlotte walked out
<v Speaker 1>in the biggest, most oversized jacket she could, she could fit.
<v Speaker 1>I wouldn't be shocked. They could have done an angle
<v Speaker 1>tonight where Alexa Bliss was hiding under the jacket. What
<v Speaker 1>a reveal that would have been. She gets in the
<v Speaker 1>ring and unzips the jacket and Alexa comes out throws
<v Speaker 1>a fucking fireball in Jade's face. This was like it
<v Speaker 1>was like George Costanza on Seinfeld with the puffy jacket. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>this thing was gigantic. So she's standing there and Jade
<v Speaker 1>has her back turned to well, I mean, all three
<v Speaker 1>the batties are looking at Charlotte. But what Jade doesn't realize,
<v Speaker 1>nor Meetchen nor Beefab is that Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea
<v Speaker 1>Green are up on the floor outside and they reach
<v Speaker 1>in they pull out the batties. So now Jade is
<v Speaker 1>all by herself in the ring. And so Charlotte gets
<v Speaker 1>in the ring after taking her puffy jacket off, and
<v Speaker 1>the two of them go toe to toe and it
<v Speaker 1>led to uh Jade retreating out to the floor. Charlotte
<v Speaker 1>stood tall. Look, I told you guys on the sound
<v Speaker 1>off when I did by Summer Slam predictions that if
<v Speaker 1>Lash qualifies and we'll get to that match later, I
<v Speaker 1>suspected that Lash was beating Julia when and if Lash
<v Speaker 1>Legend were to win, She's my pick to win the
<v Speaker 1>ladder match on Sunday. If she was not to win
<v Speaker 1>and Julia was somehow going to get the win tonight,
<v Speaker 1>then Jade would have been my backup choice because I
<v Speaker 1>think I still feel that way. I still feel like
<v Speaker 1>it's going to be one of those two as far
<v Speaker 1>as what happened with Lash Juliet'll we'll get to that
<v Speaker 1>here in a little bit. That's the fashion nowadays, baggy
<v Speaker 1>and big. I mean, look, when I was younger, I
<v Speaker 1>had the I had the baggy pants. Okay, they were
<v Speaker 1>falling down on me. I had like extra large shirts.
<v Speaker 1>So many of those old WWF shirts, like the Attitude
<v Speaker 1>Ere Austin three sixteen and and all that, like they
<v Speaker 1>were all xls, you know, some of them that I kept.
<v Speaker 1>I actually still have my original Austin three sixteen T shirt,
<v Speaker 1>and I don't want to say it's oversized on me,
<v Speaker 1>like it's hanging off me or anything, but like it's
<v Speaker 1>I should have definitely ordered a large, not an extra large.
<v Speaker 1>That's kind of the way things were. I don't know
<v Speaker 1>what this was. This was. This was like triple XL
<v Speaker 1>on Charlotte. It looked ridiculous. That's the style. Okay, well
<v Speaker 1>that's a terrible style. I'm sorry. There's baggy and there's
<v Speaker 1>whatever the hell that is. We had Phraxium and we
<v Speaker 1>had Dragon Lee. They were having a conversation in the
<v Speaker 1>back when they were approached by Dominic Mysterio and JD
<v Speaker 1>McDonough and they got in a back and forth exchange here,
<v Speaker 1>which led to a challenge being made for Ray Phoenix
<v Speaker 1>to defend his Triple A Cruiserweight Championship later in the
<v Speaker 1>show against JD McDonough, who said, you know what, it's
<v Speaker 1>about time I bring singles goal to the judgment day.
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to go talk to Adam Pierce. Then we
<v Speaker 1>got a video with Tomatonga and Taalatanga talking about how
<v Speaker 1>they forgot who they were and why they're here. Well,
<v Speaker 1>perhaps they should see a doctor. If you forget who
<v Speaker 1>you are and where you are and why you're here.
<v Speaker 1>That sounds like a serious medical issue, especially for someone
<v Speaker 1>in their profession who's constantly being hit in the head.
<v Speaker 1>I would be a little worried about that. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I forget sometimes what I'm gonna say, I forget my keys.
<v Speaker 1>It happens. But this sounds very concerning. But they forgot
<v Speaker 1>who they were, and Talatanka said that they were too
<v Speaker 1>busy fighting Solo Socoa's battles for him. He said that
<v Speaker 1>they would put their family first from now on. And
<v Speaker 1>then all of a sudden, in this vignette, who shows
<v Speaker 1>up Haku the man himself, one of the toughest men
<v Speaker 1>in the history of the wrestling business, and he walks
<v Speaker 1>in and you know what makes him even more bad
<v Speaker 1>I didn't think it was possible for Haku to be
<v Speaker 1>more badass, just you know, by being Haku. But he
<v Speaker 1>walks in with a giant walking stick. He's like Gandalf
<v Speaker 1>but cooler. So he's got this giant stick. And for
<v Speaker 1>those who don't know, this is the father of two,
<v Speaker 1>the father of Bremode now venham Ca Tetsi, thank you,
<v Speaker 1>thank you, brother, the father of bre Mode. Can you
<v Speaker 1>imagine he is the father for those who don't know
<v Speaker 1>of Tomatonga and Taalatoga and man Tonga. Lowa has got
<v Speaker 1>to feel like shit man because he's the one who
<v Speaker 1>got shit. Can The other two are still there, they're
<v Speaker 1>working with their dad. I don't know what Toangaloa is doing,
<v Speaker 1>probably watching this thinking, man, I should be there with them.
<v Speaker 1>So he shows up. He tells them, you gotta make
<v Speaker 1>people fear you again. He's given them a pep talk.
<v Speaker 1>I love seeing Haku, the idea that by just putting
<v Speaker 1>Haku on TV, this is going to get me to
<v Speaker 1>give a shit about the MFTs. Ah. Yeah, it's gonna
<v Speaker 1>take a little bit more than that. It's a step
<v Speaker 1>in the right direction, though, but it's gonna take a
<v Speaker 1>lot more than that. After this, we had the epic
<v Speaker 1>encounter that has been promoted now for many, many weeks.
<v Speaker 1>This was guys, Okay, this was big. Okay. We don't
<v Speaker 1>get a match like this very often. Like, dude, my
<v Speaker 1>hair is standing up right now. You can't see it.
<v Speaker 1>I have I have goosebumps right now on my arm. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>I'm matchally nervous. I'm nervous. I'm gonna talk about this match.
<v Speaker 1>I'm nervous. Can you believe this? I'm nervous. We had
<v Speaker 1>Winner take All? Do you realize the stakes in this match?
<v Speaker 1>Winner take All for the WWE Tag Team Championship and
<v Speaker 1>the Triple A Tag Team Championship. We had the war
<v Speaker 1>Raiders putting their Triple A titles on the line against
<v Speaker 1>Damian Priest and Our Truth. I don't know that either
<v Speaker 1>one of these teams, by the way, got an entrance
<v Speaker 1>here on this show, but this was big time Man
<v Speaker 1>and the crowd in Green Bay, well, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, somebody forgot to clue them in as to
<v Speaker 1>the historical significance of this match, but I shall try
<v Speaker 1>to do it justice by giving you a very succinct
<v Speaker 1>description here. They went to a commercial break, as they
<v Speaker 1>do for every other match on this show. They came back.
<v Speaker 1>Damian Priest took Ivar off the top with a rana.
<v Speaker 1>Eric though had blind tagged himself into the match, so
<v Speaker 1>they took Priest up and down with a pop up
<v Speaker 1>power slam. They covered him. Truth though, jumped in to
<v Speaker 1>break up the pin. So the war Raiders they were
<v Speaker 1>going after Our Truth, and as they were fighting him,
<v Speaker 1>they shoved Charles Robinson his side. Now that's just something
<v Speaker 1>you don't do, okay, you don't put your hands a
<v Speaker 1>little nature, and he was willing to let that slide.
<v Speaker 1>And he goes back and now they're all fighting. Now
<v Speaker 1>Damian Priest is in there and he shoves Charles Robinson
<v Speaker 1>down to the mat. And that's it. I mean, at
<v Speaker 1>that point, now you've had these men put their hands
<v Speaker 1>on you two different times. There's nothing left to do
<v Speaker 1>but call for the disqualification, call for the bell. The
<v Speaker 1>fans booh, that's the lamest, most unenthusiastic boo. Yeah, they
<v Speaker 1>were very happy about that. The fight continues, though they
<v Speaker 1>end up brawling into the crowd, to a very tame
<v Speaker 1>reaction from said crowd. Truth got up on the barricade
<v Speaker 1>while they were in the crowd. He did a splash
<v Speaker 1>off the barricade onto everybody. They fought their way back
<v Speaker 1>to ringside and here's Tomatonga and Tlatanga and they're back
<v Speaker 1>in the face paint the dead presidents makeup. They got
<v Speaker 1>it back on their face here. So they take everybody
<v Speaker 1>out and including in the ring. Tomatonga is not so
<v Speaker 1>hidden blade the cutthroat, as he calls it. And then
<v Speaker 1>I look and all of a sudden, I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>it's like he teleported himself. I don't know where he
<v Speaker 1>came from. Maybe I guess he walked down the aisle.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. But Haku was there in the ring
<v Speaker 1>with his walking stick. I think it's a walking stick.
<v Speaker 1>It looked like a staff. It almost looked like something
<v Speaker 1>that Skeletor would like. Yeah, the Skeletor maybe they could
<v Speaker 1>get if you got Skeletor to manage the MFTs. I
<v Speaker 1>still wouldn't give a fuck. But Haku is there and
<v Speaker 1>his sons are holding up both sets of tag team titles,
<v Speaker 1>and it appears that Haku is going to be a
<v Speaker 1>regular character on TV. You know, we lost Lil YACHTI.
<v Speaker 1>I've noticed he hasn't been on TV for a couple
<v Speaker 1>of weeks. If we traded Lil YACHTI for Haku, I'm
<v Speaker 1>okay with that. The fact that he is now with
<v Speaker 1>his sons and they were holding up the tag team
<v Speaker 1>titles guarantees they're winning the titles, not the Triple A ones,
<v Speaker 1>the WWE ones. Triple A ones don't matter on this show.
<v Speaker 1>Hakku is scarier than Skeletor. Well, I mean that is true.
<v Speaker 1>That is true. Really, if you know anything about Skeletor,
<v Speaker 1>he is very goofy. He's very goofy. He'll say something
<v Speaker 1>and then he'll run off. Haku would never run away,
<v Speaker 1>not before he plucks your eyeballs out of your skull.
<v Speaker 1>It is kind of funny to be though, now that
<v Speaker 1>we have Haku on television after Jacob Fatu adopted the
<v Speaker 1>Tonguan death grip and has done a great disservice to
<v Speaker 1>it by not winning a single match with it. If
<v Speaker 1>I were him, I would just give it up and
<v Speaker 1>let Haku. Being that he's on TV now, let Haku
<v Speaker 1>do it. He's the only one that should be doing it.
<v Speaker 1>If he's actually going to be on these shows, let
<v Speaker 1>him have the Tongan death Grip. As far as the
<v Speaker 1>match itself, it was okay until the absolutely just fucking
<v Speaker 1>lame finish, which rendered this match completely useless. They promoted
<v Speaker 1>this thing. I know, it wasn't like a significant promotion
<v Speaker 1>and people didn't really care, but they promoted this match
<v Speaker 1>in various backstage segments for weeks weeks and weeks, and
<v Speaker 1>then they do it, and they do that finish. It's
<v Speaker 1>so fucking lame. It's so lame Haku with the Tongans,
<v Speaker 1>it adds a new dimension to them. Look, I've talked
<v Speaker 1>about how these tag team divisions on Ron SmackDown are dead. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>they're dead. They virtually don't exist. They just don't have
<v Speaker 1>enough teams to sustain separate divisions, even if you combine them.
<v Speaker 1>Tag team wrestling in WWE has I don't think ever
<v Speaker 1>been as bad as it is right now, and it's
<v Speaker 1>not because they don't have talent and the company who
<v Speaker 1>could kind of fill those roles. If you look at
<v Speaker 1>the teams that they have, they have the street profits.
<v Speaker 1>I guess they have the vision right, the street profits,
<v Speaker 1>the vision you've got the MFT. I'll still call them
<v Speaker 1>the MFTs. Priest in truth, I'm sorry, not a real team.
<v Speaker 1>The war Raiders. You have Phraxium, you have Los Garza.
<v Speaker 1>Who else am I missing here? You want to count
<v Speaker 1>domin JD. I mean, they're not a real team if
<v Speaker 1>you want to put the Judgment Day in there, though,
<v Speaker 1>I guess I guess you could do that. Again, it's
<v Speaker 1>the USOS Okay, I forgot about the USOS. Got the
<v Speaker 1>USSOS as well, Right, It's not much of a division
<v Speaker 1>because there's no emphasis on tag team wrestling, so when
<v Speaker 1>it comes to it, like I again, I was mocking
<v Speaker 1>it before, but you have a champion versus champion title
<v Speaker 1>for title match on this show right that they've been
<v Speaker 1>hyping up for weeks, winner take all, both sets of
<v Speaker 1>tag team belts are on the line. There's a reason
<v Speaker 1>why nobody gave a shit. Nobody cared given the stakes
<v Speaker 1>that were in this match. Did it sound to you
<v Speaker 1>like the fans in Green Bay, Wisconsin gave a fuck
<v Speaker 1>about this match? And if I polled every single person
<v Speaker 1>watching this right now, okay, you can't tell me that
<v Speaker 1>the vast majority of people either a even remembered this
<v Speaker 1>match was booked for this show or B tuned into
<v Speaker 1>the show tonight specifically because they were excited to see
<v Speaker 1>this match. I don't believe you. I think you're a liar.
<v Speaker 1>There's a reason for that, though, because the fans have
<v Speaker 1>not been given a reason to think that any of
<v Speaker 1>these belts are meaningful in any way, because tag team
<v Speaker 1>wrestling is not considered meaningful in any way on these shows.
<v Speaker 1>So it's sad. You know, when I talk about a
<v Speaker 1>match like this that should be a big deal, it
<v Speaker 1>doesn't feel like it. And that's not on the war Raiders.
<v Speaker 1>That's not on our truth. That's not on Damian Priest.
<v Speaker 1>That's on Paulo bec and Bruce Pritchard and Michael Hayes
<v Speaker 1>or Paul Hayman or whoever is sitting in that fucking
<v Speaker 1>room that we see on Unreal. It's on them. It's
<v Speaker 1>on them. They aired footage of CM Punk and Cody
<v Speaker 1>Rhodes sharing the ring together after their match. They had
<v Speaker 1>a tag team match at the live event in Springfield
<v Speaker 1>last night. Cody handed Punk the belt and patted him
<v Speaker 1>on the shoulder and then he turned around and he
<v Speaker 1>was looking at at the crowd. Punk then went to
<v Speaker 1>go pat Cody on the back, and Cody delivered. He
<v Speaker 1>just threw the again the most telegraphed forced elbow, and
<v Speaker 1>they tried to play it off like, oh, it was
<v Speaker 1>a mistake. It was almost as it was so bad.
<v Speaker 1>I watched this believing that it almost had to have
<v Speaker 1>been done to where the fans can see that Cody
<v Speaker 1>was full of shit and that Cody did it on purpose,
<v Speaker 1>and so if they wanted to play it off that way,
<v Speaker 1>then it works. The fact that they were all trying
<v Speaker 1>to play it off like it was a mistake, like
<v Speaker 1>it was terrible. It was just it was so it
<v Speaker 1>was so forced and it was so obvious. But we
<v Speaker 1>go to the back. Kathy Kelly is live with the
<v Speaker 1>WWE champion for an interview, and Punk says that he
<v Speaker 1>and Cody they are not going to be friends in
<v Speaker 1>the ring, but as far as after the match is over,
<v Speaker 1>we'll see Trick Williams, the United States Champion, walks in
<v Speaker 1>with his furry belt around his waist. Again no Lil
<v Speaker 1>YACHTI and he says that, you know, Punk should be
<v Speaker 1>happy that Trick lost in that fatal four way last
<v Speaker 1>week because he's coming for the WWE title. And Punk says,
<v Speaker 1>he you want this, how you want to be Trick
<v Speaker 1>two Belts? And I I went like this, you heard
<v Speaker 1>what I said last? Was it last week? I just
<v Speaker 1>said this last week. I just said this the other day.
<v Speaker 1>If I never hear another reference to so and so
<v Speaker 1>two belts, it won't be a day too soon. Now
<v Speaker 1>he's talking about Trick two Belts. Tiffany Stratton's in the
<v Speaker 1>ladder match on Sunday. She's gonna try to become Tiffy
<v Speaker 1>two Belts. I would love for there to be a
<v Speaker 1>six month moratorium and professional wrestling on wrestlers holding more
<v Speaker 1>than one championship. I don't want anybody to have two belts.
<v Speaker 1>I don't even I'm going to count the belt around
<v Speaker 1>their pants that keeps their pants. O, you're not allowed
<v Speaker 1>to wear that. Either you got to pick. You got
<v Speaker 1>to pick one or the other, either the belt to
<v Speaker 1>hold up your pants or your championship belt. I don't
<v Speaker 1>want anybody to have two belts. I'm over the two
<v Speaker 1>belts stuff. But talking to Trick and saying, all right,
<v Speaker 1>that's cool, that's cool. You want to become Trick two belts?
<v Speaker 1>Here he goes, and I tell you what I wish
<v Speaker 1>it was you. I wanted to face you. I'm looking
<v Speaker 1>for fresh, younger, hungry, newer challengers. And he says, when
<v Speaker 1>you finally do become number one contender, I'll be waiting
<v Speaker 1>there to whoop that trick. So then after this, we
<v Speaker 1>got a video package on Nick. All this he was
<v Speaker 1>sitting in the locker room on one of the benches,
<v Speaker 1>cutting a promo and talking to the cameraman saying it's
<v Speaker 1>been a privilege for him to be the SmackDown general manager.
<v Speaker 1>But it was never his first dream. He's always been
<v Speaker 1>a wrestler, says, He's won indefended titles all around the
<v Speaker 1>world against legends. And they showed clips for the first
<v Speaker 1>time here we actually got video showing the casual WWE
<v Speaker 1>viewer who doesn't know a whole lot about Nick Alldis
<v Speaker 1>other than the fact that he's that GM guy, the
<v Speaker 1>fact that, holy shit, this guy was a wrestler and
<v Speaker 1>he won championships. And they showed him in there with
<v Speaker 1>wrestlers like Kurt Angle and other names that a lot
<v Speaker 1>of fans would probably recognize, right. They showed him in
<v Speaker 1>there with a whole bunch of different people. They didn't
<v Speaker 1>just have footage from TNA, though they had some footage
<v Speaker 1>of him from Triple A, and they had it wasn't
<v Speaker 1>really footage, and I think it was just one still
<v Speaker 1>image from NWA, but it was him face to face,
<v Speaker 1>nose to nose with Cody Roads. All this said, he
<v Speaker 1>was willing to just be the best GM that he
<v Speaker 1>could be, and he was going to leave that part
<v Speaker 1>of his life behind, but then Gunher pushed him too far.
<v Speaker 1>He goes, this isn't about his dream, It isn't about
<v Speaker 1>being the GM. It's about being a man. So he's
<v Speaker 1>gonna lace up his boots. He's gonna lace him up
<v Speaker 1>real tight. He's gonna face Gunther one on one like
<v Speaker 1>a man. This was good. This was one of my
<v Speaker 1>favorite parts of the entire show. I only wish that
<v Speaker 1>they would have done this more than twenty four hours
<v Speaker 1>before the match, but at least we got it at all.
<v Speaker 1>We had the United States Champion Trick Williams out to
<v Speaker 1>the ring to address his rival at SummerSlam, his challenger
<v Speaker 1>for the title, Baron Corbin. He said that he had
<v Speaker 1>a lot to get off his chest, and he said
<v Speaker 1>that Corbin decided to just wake up one day and
<v Speaker 1>hate on him, looking like a big ass Tommy Pickles.
<v Speaker 1>Holy shit, we got a rug Rats reference on this show.
<v Speaker 1>I haven't thought of that show in a very long time.
<v Speaker 1>What was the last time I even saw an episode
<v Speaker 1>of rug Rats? I don't even know. It's been years.
<v Speaker 1>Trick called out Corbin for a fight right now. Corbin
<v Speaker 1>walked out only as far as the stage. He didn't
<v Speaker 1>go down to the ring, and he said he learned
<v Speaker 1>some very valuable lessons in his time away, like the
<v Speaker 1>virtue of patience, something that Trick doesn't know. Says, Trick
<v Speaker 1>got the rocket strapped to him right away, include entrance
<v Speaker 1>music that makes people think he's more important than he
<v Speaker 1>really is. At SummerSlam, Corbin will drown him in quicksand
<v Speaker 1>and he's going on and on, and Trick interrupts him
<v Speaker 1>and says, you're not gonna do anything because he's Corbyn
<v Speaker 1>here just to collect the check. The only thing Corbyn
<v Speaker 1>will be collecting is Trick's boot up his ass. So
<v Speaker 1>Corbin interrupts, says a trick. Trick wants to do it
<v Speaker 1>right now. He wants to fight right now. Corbin says,
<v Speaker 1>I'm not stupid. We're not doing that. He goes, Trick
<v Speaker 1>is just a dumb rookie who doesn't get it. And
<v Speaker 1>on Sunday he's taking the US title and there's nothing
<v Speaker 1>Trick can do about it. And Trick warns him that
<v Speaker 1>on Sunday there will be thirty five thousand people. I
<v Speaker 1>was more shocked that gave the legit number thirty five
<v Speaker 1>thousand people, he said, chanting, whoop that Trick again. This
<v Speaker 1>was okay, this was serviceable, not a whole lot to
<v Speaker 1>draw from here, and just came back a few weeks ago.
<v Speaker 1>Literally just came back what two weeks ago, maybe three,
<v Speaker 1>I think two, and we got one promo video prior
<v Speaker 1>to this where he talked about I guess his motivation.
<v Speaker 1>This generation of young kids now they think they know
<v Speaker 1>everything and everything's handed to them. That's the gist of it,
<v Speaker 1>and that's really it. That's really all that we have
<v Speaker 1>to go on here with these two. There is someone
<v Speaker 1>who is missing in this equation. I'm going to assume
<v Speaker 1>that carmel O Hayes accepted his fate. I'm just going
<v Speaker 1>to assume that he accepted his fate and sees things
<v Speaker 1>for how they really are, because he has turned into
<v Speaker 1>a ghost on this show ever since we saw him
<v Speaker 1>in the ring of that non title match with Trick.
<v Speaker 1>It was the night that Corbyn came back. Corbyn didn't
<v Speaker 1>just beat up Trick Williams that night, he beat up
<v Speaker 1>Carmelo Hayes and Trick has been on his ass ever since.
<v Speaker 1>Carmelo Hayes is no where to be found out. I
<v Speaker 1>had somebody who actually wrote in the chat before that
<v Speaker 1>apparently he was there tonight, and this person said that
<v Speaker 1>carmel O Hayes wrestled Ricky Saints on main event, so
<v Speaker 1>he has been relegated to Maine event, dude, like Jordan
<v Speaker 1>Grace was reduced to main event, and I don't even
<v Speaker 1>know where she is now. I don't even think she's
<v Speaker 1>on main event. But that is where Carmelo Hayes is.
<v Speaker 1>He has had nothing to say about Baron KORbin laying
<v Speaker 1>him out and attacking him all those weeks ago. Amazing,
<v Speaker 1>all that work that they did with the US title
<v Speaker 1>Open Challenge, Like Sammy Zay is in a good spot
<v Speaker 1>right now. He even won the WWE Championship for nine days,
<v Speaker 1>but then the title went from Sammy to Dragonov right,
<v Speaker 1>and then from Dragonov to Carmelo Hayes. And the two
<v Speaker 1>men that inherited the US time a open Challenge and
<v Speaker 1>had killer matches week after week, and honestly, they were
<v Speaker 1>the saving grace of this just dreadful television show for months.
<v Speaker 1>Those two guys right now are a total non factor
<v Speaker 1>on this show because you would think, like you can
<v Speaker 1>use that open challenge gimmick to truly elevate somebody, and
<v Speaker 1>they did for a brief period of time. It was
<v Speaker 1>beneficial to Carmelo Hayes and that people started to really
<v Speaker 1>get behind him in a way that they hadn't since
<v Speaker 1>he was drafted to SmackDown. I was like, Okay, it's working.
<v Speaker 1>He's getting himself over by going out there and having
<v Speaker 1>these really killer matches, and he's getting screen time every week,
<v Speaker 1>and this is good. And Dragonov is another one like
<v Speaker 1>Dragonov's going out there, his matches are getting over because
<v Speaker 1>there's nobody like him in WWE. He brings a level
<v Speaker 1>of intensity to what he does that nobody else does.
<v Speaker 1>That's why he ends up busting himself open in every match.
<v Speaker 1>He's a little too intense. All the work that they
<v Speaker 1>put in, all the television time they devoted to these
<v Speaker 1>two to try to elevate them, if that was even
<v Speaker 1>their real goal, and they've been I mean, in the
<v Speaker 1>case of Dragon OFV, he's been off television all year.
<v Speaker 1>He's been off television all year, ever since the Rumble.
<v Speaker 1>And I can think back to the Royal Rumble and
<v Speaker 1>all those fucking morons who tried to convince me when
<v Speaker 1>I talked about how stupid it was, and it was stupid.
<v Speaker 1>Oh well, brock Lesner, no selling those chops from Ilia Dragonov.
<v Speaker 1>It's really not a big deal or it's you know,
<v Speaker 1>I forgot what dumb argument they came up with, Like, Oh,
<v Speaker 1>it's gonna help him get over in a way by
<v Speaker 1>having a moment with get the fuck out of here,
<v Speaker 1>pack your shit and fucking leave all the dumb shit
<v Speaker 1>that I had to hear coming out of that. I'm
<v Speaker 1>getting angry just thinking about it all over again. That
<v Speaker 1>was the beginning of the end for him, that fucking
<v Speaker 1>dumb spot in the rumble. He was never the same
<v Speaker 1>after that. So it's sad. It's just sad for me
<v Speaker 1>to look back here, almost like a lost year for
<v Speaker 1>him and Framelo. Look, maybe coming out of Summer Slim,
<v Speaker 1>maybe they just want to get through Summer Slim and
<v Speaker 1>then he'll magically reappear next Friday, I hope, so for
<v Speaker 1>his sake, I hope. So that's all I can say. Now.
<v Speaker 1>I should point out that about half an hour past
<v Speaker 1>before our last match, we were finally getting another one
<v Speaker 1>here Ray Phoenix defending the Triple A Cruiserweight Championship against
<v Speaker 1>JD Mcdondoah. This was our second Triple A title match
<v Speaker 1>of the show. And if I am going to as
<v Speaker 1>I have done before, when Tony has gone a little
<v Speaker 1>overboard with it, although I think he's done a little
<v Speaker 1>bit better with it, at least as far as the
<v Speaker 1>TV shows go recently. But I don't like when we
<v Speaker 1>end up in a situation, as we have done before
<v Speaker 1>in AAW where we start getting this overabundance of title
<v Speaker 1>matches titles that are not connected to AW. Occasionally, it
<v Speaker 1>had gotten a little out of control. On this show alone,
<v Speaker 1>we had two Triple A title matches. Now, I don't
<v Speaker 1>mind the occasional Ray Phoenix Triple A Cruiserweight title defense
<v Speaker 1>simply because it is the only way that Ray Phoenix
<v Speaker 1>will ever get television time on SmackDown is to defend
<v Speaker 1>that championship. I hope he never loses it. I hope
<v Speaker 1>he retires as the Cruiserweight champion, because the minute he
<v Speaker 1>drops that title, we will never see him again on
<v Speaker 1>this show. So I'm okay with it, and more often
<v Speaker 1>than not, when he's in there, if they give him
<v Speaker 1>some time, like it'll probably end up being the best
<v Speaker 1>match on the show, Like the match he had here
<v Speaker 1>with McDonough was was good for the time that it lasted.
<v Speaker 1>But we had that and we had the Triple A
<v Speaker 1>tag team title match. It's too much. I don't want
<v Speaker 1>to see that again because I don't care about these
<v Speaker 1>Triple A titles. And by the way, we had the
<v Speaker 1>Triple A Mega Champion on this show too, Dominic Mysterio.
<v Speaker 1>Now I understand them wanting to promote the Triple A brand.
<v Speaker 1>There are ways that you can do that, but let's
<v Speaker 1>not get into the act of having these constant Triple
<v Speaker 1>A title defenses on these shows, as I feel like,
<v Speaker 1>what I don't want them to do is lean on
<v Speaker 1>it as a crutch. Oh, we can have title matches
<v Speaker 1>because we can just use Triple A titles, so we
<v Speaker 1>can have more title matches on the shows. Don't do that.
<v Speaker 1>Phoenix hit a springboard splash of the frog variety, follow
<v Speaker 1>that with a brainbuster that got him a near fall.
<v Speaker 1>Then it was Phoenix with a handspring springboard Cutter McDonough
<v Speaker 1>came back with a running Spanish Fly. He got a
<v Speaker 1>near fall out of that. Phoenix was on the top rope,
<v Speaker 1>Dominic was out there. He caused a distraction that got
<v Speaker 1>him ejected from ringside, and dom was beside himself. You
<v Speaker 1>can't throw me out, you can't do that. As he's leaving,
<v Speaker 1>he's backing up down the aisle. We hearoo you ah. Cursed.
<v Speaker 1>The whole fucking show is cursed. Dan Hausen is here
<v Speaker 1>because we don't get enough of him on TV. We
<v Speaker 1>don't get nearly enough dan Hausen on these shows. I
<v Speaker 1>was so happy that we had more of him there,
<v Speaker 1>especially this week after that amazing segment that we had
<v Speaker 1>on Run Monday night. I was begging for more Dan Hausen.
<v Speaker 1>But he has a match at SummerSlam, so I understand it. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>he does have a match on the card this weekend,
<v Speaker 1>so they wanted to get him on the show in
<v Speaker 1>some way. So Dan Housen walks out, he's by himself
<v Speaker 1>and now he's face to face with Dom on stage
<v Speaker 1>and he goes you ah, and before he can curse him,
<v Speaker 1>Dom just punches him in the fucking face and down
<v Speaker 1>goes dan Hausen. Will now outcome the Minie Housens and
<v Speaker 1>the midgets run out and they attack him, and now
<v Speaker 1>Dan Housen is and I think Dan Housen was holding
<v Speaker 1>him and the Mini Housens now are beating up the
<v Speaker 1>Triple A Mega Champion and this is all played for
<v Speaker 1>haha comedy. This distracts JD McDonough, who was in the
<v Speaker 1>middle of a title match, by the way in the
<v Speaker 1>middle of the ring, and with his attention diverted, he
<v Speaker 1>ends up eating an audios Amigo kick and then Phoenix
<v Speaker 1>finishes him off with the Mexican Musclebuster to retain the
<v Speaker 1>Triple A Cruiserweight Championship. So we had Dan Housen and
<v Speaker 1>the Mini Housens playing a prominent role a few weeks
<v Speaker 1>ago on Saturday Night's main event. We have them on Raw,
<v Speaker 1>we have them on SmackDown. We're gonna have them. It's
<v Speaker 1>Summer Slam. It's too much. Dial it back, Dial it back.
<v Speaker 1>There's room for Dan Housen on these shows, not on
<v Speaker 1>every show. If the people paying their money with their
<v Speaker 1>kids to bring their kids to the show, you think
<v Speaker 1>they're gonna want to see Dan Housen. Send him out
<v Speaker 1>there during a commercial break. You send everybody else out
<v Speaker 1>there during a commercial breaks. The only fucking way Joe
<v Speaker 1>Hendry can get fucking time in the building on most weeks.
<v Speaker 1>Send him out there during the commercial break. He can
<v Speaker 1>do a bit, He can do a dance. You know,
<v Speaker 1>he could do a fucking Broadway number. He could do
<v Speaker 1>whatever you want him to do. Dial it back. It's
<v Speaker 1>too much. I beg of you, there's too much Danausen
<v Speaker 1>on these shows. Then we had. It only gets worse.
<v Speaker 1>It only gets worse because we had Lash Legend, who
<v Speaker 1>came out. She got her entrance, at least until the
<v Speaker 1>point that they went to commercial. She got half an entrance,
<v Speaker 1>but she came out for the next match, which was
<v Speaker 1>the final qualifying match. Here in the interim Championship Ladder
<v Speaker 1>match that we have coming up on Summer Slave Sunday,
<v Speaker 1>one spot left to be filled, and it was either
<v Speaker 1>going to be Lash Legend or was going to be Julia.
<v Speaker 1>When they come back from commercial, Julia is already in
<v Speaker 1>the ring, no entrance. She caught Lash in an octopus hold.
<v Speaker 1>Then she hit her a riveder Chini not that long
<v Speaker 1>later for a near fall, and Lash just you know,
<v Speaker 1>kicked out of it like it was nothing. It got
<v Speaker 1>basically no reaction. It was kicked out of We were
<v Speaker 1>a minute into the match. If we were sixty seconds
<v Speaker 1>into the match, I would be shocked. I think that
<v Speaker 1>that says it all right there, when you hit one
<v Speaker 1>of your signature moves okay, which I think she's used
<v Speaker 1>it as a finisher maybe occasionally in the past. But
<v Speaker 1>even if it's a setup to the finish, when you
<v Speaker 1>hit one of your signature moves in the opening minute
<v Speaker 1>of the match and the person kicks out of it
<v Speaker 1>like it's nothing and it doesn't even get much of
<v Speaker 1>a reaction, you're cooked. Like you're cooked. Not that we
<v Speaker 1>didn't already know this before the match even ended, though,
<v Speaker 1>I was like, man, this is just this is sad.
<v Speaker 1>Lash too big though to take the Northern Lights bomb,
<v Speaker 1>So Julia locks on a guillotine instead. Lash, though powered
<v Speaker 1>out of it with a head butt, and then she
<v Speaker 1>hits her Lash extension and she wins in about two minutes.
<v Speaker 1>They gave them two minutes and Julia was effectively squashed.
<v Speaker 1>It wasn't a total squash, but it was a squash.
<v Speaker 1>Thanks for coming. Julia enjoyed the chicken. I hear it's
<v Speaker 1>quite tasty. That's where she'll be spending most of her
<v Speaker 1>time for the duration of her time here on SmackDown.
<v Speaker 1>Mark my words, I will be stunned a year from
<v Speaker 1>now if she's not back in Marigold, she won't be here.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know where she'll be, maybe not marriag Well,
<v Speaker 1>but she will not be here. Two minutes, no heat,
<v Speaker 1>by the way, for any of this, not for her,
<v Speaker 1>not for lash, not for nothing. And in a two
<v Speaker 1>minute match like this, it's not like anybody's actually getting over.
<v Speaker 1>So everything about this was a complete and just utter failure.
<v Speaker 1>And I was just more sad than anything watching this.
<v Speaker 1>And for Julia, the Julia experiment on the main roster
<v Speaker 1>has been an abject failure, and there's this blame to
<v Speaker 1>go around all around. But whatever she was doing in NXT,
<v Speaker 1>it has not translated to the main roster, and they
<v Speaker 1>gave her two different runs, by the way, with the
<v Speaker 1>United States Championship, nobody cared. She would come out every week.
<v Speaker 1>They would play her music, and she had the cool entrance,
<v Speaker 1>you know, with the the mask and everything, and I
<v Speaker 1>like the colors, and nobody cared, nobody can. They had
<v Speaker 1>her with Keana James. Keanu was doing most of the
<v Speaker 1>talking and then Julia started to, you know, do some
<v Speaker 1>more talking on her own. She knows English. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>obviously it's not her first language, but it's not like
<v Speaker 1>she can't communicate. I mean, look at Andrade right now
<v Speaker 1>in AAW I would never say that. Androtte's promos are
<v Speaker 1>his strong suit. Right, They're not the strongest tool in
<v Speaker 1>his toolbox. And even after all these years, it can
<v Speaker 1>still be tough sometimes to understand him in a promo.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I understand pretty much what he's saying most
<v Speaker 1>of the time, but he's got that thick accent, and obviously,
<v Speaker 1>you know, again English is not his first language. But
<v Speaker 1>he doesn't have to say much these days. Sometimes you
<v Speaker 1>just hit on the right thing, and now people love him.
<v Speaker 1>He's having the run of his career right now in
<v Speaker 1>aw and all he has to do is say how
<v Speaker 1>you know, and the crowd goes nuts, right, So you
<v Speaker 1>never know what might get over, And you can find
<v Speaker 1>other Joshi wrestlers that have gotten over on the main roster,
<v Speaker 1>OSCA EO being the two shining examples. Whatever it is
<v Speaker 1>about Julia, she has not connected with the audience. She
<v Speaker 1>has not clicked with the audience. And having seen her
<v Speaker 1>work previously and even in NXT, but even before she
<v Speaker 1>came to WWE, if you would have told me that
<v Speaker 1>one day Julia will finally end up in the States
<v Speaker 1>and she will finally end up in WWE, and she
<v Speaker 1>will absolutely make no difference whatsoever, and nobody will give
<v Speaker 1>a shit. I would have said, you're lying. I don't
<v Speaker 1>believe that. How do you bring in Julia and not
<v Speaker 1>get her over? Right, of course she's gonna get over. Well,
<v Speaker 1>here we are, here we are, and she's not getting
<v Speaker 1>a lot of assistance, I would say from the booking,
<v Speaker 1>because I want to point out something else to you.
<v Speaker 1>And again this is also a failure on creative. So
<v Speaker 1>they do First of all, this whole interim title idea
<v Speaker 1>is just fucking nonsense and it's stupid and it shouldn't
<v Speaker 1>be happening. You could do a ladder match. It doesn't
<v Speaker 1>have to be for an interim championship. This is what
<v Speaker 1>they wanted to get cute, and this is what they're doing. Fine,
<v Speaker 1>so you got five spots in this ladder match, right,
<v Speaker 1>So we have Charlotte Flair, we have Jade car Gill,
<v Speaker 1>we have Tiffany Stratton, and we have Chelsea Green and
<v Speaker 1>they have this match. And I'm thinking to myself, why
<v Speaker 1>is Lash legend in this match? Not just because Naya
<v Speaker 1>Jacks was screwed over twice, so let's give let's give
<v Speaker 1>Lash a shot and fuck Nya. Why is Lash legend
<v Speaker 1>in this match? If the idea and this is why
<v Speaker 1>I picked her to win because they have one heel
<v Speaker 1>coming into tonight. They had one heel in that lineup
<v Speaker 1>of four, that was Jade. I figured they're gonna want
<v Speaker 1>to heal in that match. They're not gonna want a babyface,
<v Speaker 1>so naturally, and plus Julie is just a jobber on
<v Speaker 1>this show, so it just made all the sense in
<v Speaker 1>the world that, of course lash is gonna win. Would
<v Speaker 1>it not have made more sense to put blakeman Row
<v Speaker 1>in this spot? Blake Monroe when she officially debuted, I
<v Speaker 1>don't even know how many weeks ago it was at
<v Speaker 1>this point, it may have been a fucking month she
<v Speaker 1>showed up. I think it was the night that Julia
<v Speaker 1>beat Keana, and Blake Monroe showed up and she ambushed
<v Speaker 1>Julia from behind in the ring, and I consider that
<v Speaker 1>to be like her official debut. She attacked Julia one
<v Speaker 1>more time and Keana in a backstage segment after that,
<v Speaker 1>so twice this woman has attacked Julia. We have not
<v Speaker 1>heard anything from Julia about the attacks from Blake, not
<v Speaker 1>a fucking word, And now you're doing this match. Would
<v Speaker 1>it not have made more sense to make it Julia
<v Speaker 1>and Blake Monroe Because at least then Julia, she has
<v Speaker 1>this recent history where she's been attacked by this woman
<v Speaker 1>and she wants to get after her, and Blake is
<v Speaker 1>on the opposite side here she's getting a shot to
<v Speaker 1>be in the ladder match, but there's a little bit
<v Speaker 1>of history, a little bit of tension here between the
<v Speaker 1>and then have Blake win and put Blake in the
<v Speaker 1>latter match. Blake Monroe hasn't wrestled the match yet. Is
<v Speaker 1>she hurt? Is she injured and we're just not aware
<v Speaker 1>of it because she's been doing stuff physically. She's attacking
<v Speaker 1>people in the back. If she had some sort of
<v Speaker 1>serious injury, I can't imagine she would be medically cleared
<v Speaker 1>to be doing that. Why has she not wrestled yet?
<v Speaker 1>Why are we getting all of these dumb fucking appearances
<v Speaker 1>from her where she's beating people up in the back
<v Speaker 1>and she's writing in her fucking journal or whatever it
<v Speaker 1>is that she's doing. She's doing everything but wrestling on
<v Speaker 1>this show, and here you had an opportunity to fill
<v Speaker 1>one of those spots with her, because they're sure as
<v Speaker 1>fuck didn't give it to j C. Jane. They bounced
<v Speaker 1>her out of this fucking thing so that we'll put
<v Speaker 1>lash Legend in there. We'll have a random ass match
<v Speaker 1>between lash Legends and Julia and Blake Monroe, who again
<v Speaker 1>was not a She wasn't even on the show tonight.
<v Speaker 1>I guess she's still coming, She's still coming soon. She's
<v Speaker 1>waiting to find somebody else to beat up in the back.
<v Speaker 1>I guess there were no other women available tonight. Candice
<v Speaker 1>Lay was not there. We didn't see Johnny Gargano planking
<v Speaker 1>on this show. I see that match would have made
<v Speaker 1>more sense, and I would have loved to have seen
<v Speaker 1>Blake in the ladder match. And you know what, for
<v Speaker 1>the people who would say, well, why would she be
<v Speaker 1>in the ladder match because she hasn't even wrestled yet,
<v Speaker 1>who gives a shit? Baron Corbin came back. He hasn't
<v Speaker 1>wrestled yet either, He's got the United States Championship match.
<v Speaker 1>Who gives a fuck? They obviously don't, so it doesn't matter.
<v Speaker 1>You could have absolutely put Blake Monroe in that ladder match,
<v Speaker 1>but for whatever reason, they don't want her wrestling, she's
<v Speaker 1>not allowed to wrestle. I don't get it. I don't understand.
<v Speaker 1>I don't understand what the line of thinking is here.
<v Speaker 1>I really don't none of this makes any sense. But
<v Speaker 1>Lash is in, and I'm gonna stay with my prediction.
<v Speaker 1>I think Lash is gonna win. Maybe that's why Blake
<v Speaker 1>wasn't in. Maybe that's why Blakeman wrote didn't get the
<v Speaker 1>spot because I'm right and Lash legend is going to
<v Speaker 1>be anointed the interim Women's Champions, so she could feud,
<v Speaker 1>have a very brief feud, but Rhea Ripley. When Rhea
<v Speaker 1>comes back, I'm gonna stick with her. I'm gonna stick
<v Speaker 1>with Lash. If Lash doesn't win, I would go Jade,
<v Speaker 1>but I just have this feeling it's gonna be Lash.
<v Speaker 1>I don't see them wanting to do Charlotte and Rhea
<v Speaker 1>right now. Jade and Rie has already been done. But
<v Speaker 1>I could absolutely see them running that back. It sounds
<v Speaker 1>exactly like the sort of thing they would do. But
<v Speaker 1>you know, even if the two of them cancel each
<v Speaker 1>other out, so that leaves Tiffany, who's already got a belt. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>no two belts. She already has one. I know it's Minnesota,
<v Speaker 1>but she doesn't need another belt. Chelsea Green, I goya
<v Speaker 1>put the fucking belt on Shaw. You kidding me. They're
<v Speaker 1>gonna put the belt on Chelsea Green to set up
<v Speaker 1>what to set what are they gonna set up there?
<v Speaker 1>It'll be a nice moment for Chelsea to set up
<v Speaker 1>what baby faced Chelsea against it Rhea Ripley when she
<v Speaker 1>comes back. So Riha could fucking kill her in five minutes.
<v Speaker 1>Who wants to see that? You're left with Lash Legends.
<v Speaker 1>Doesn't sound like much of a stretch to me. In
<v Speaker 1>their mind, this is a big spot for Lash. If
<v Speaker 1>she wins, you get one big match out of it
<v Speaker 1>with Rhea Ripley. Let's see how she does. After the break,
<v Speaker 1>it was time for our closing segment, af By making sense.
<v Speaker 1>By the way, when I talk about this stuff right again,
<v Speaker 1>I don't go out of my way to be overly negative,
<v Speaker 1>but when I see stupid shit on the show, it
<v Speaker 1>annoys me. It just drives me nuts, and I have
<v Speaker 1>to point it out. And I don't think that there's
<v Speaker 1>anything I'm saying that's wrong or inaccurate. Cody Rhodes was
<v Speaker 1>on his way out to the ring for the closing
<v Speaker 1>face off with CM Punk. He didn't even get through
<v Speaker 1>the woe part of his entrance. He was kneeling down
<v Speaker 1>on the stage getting ready to do the woe CM.
<v Speaker 1>Punk's music interrupted and Punk walked out and Punk blew
<v Speaker 1>right by. He might have actually patted him on the head,
<v Speaker 1>but Punk bleuw right by him and Cody did not
<v Speaker 1>seem very happy about that. So as Punk's music is playing,
<v Speaker 1>Cody is just casually walking down to the ring. So
<v Speaker 1>they both have mics and they're both kind of arguing
<v Speaker 1>about you know, how they got to this point. Cody
<v Speaker 1>brought up the fact that can't fake anything with you.
<v Speaker 1>After twenty years of knowing each other, he knows Punk
<v Speaker 1>knew that they were on this path to hating one another.
<v Speaker 1>Now they're on this inevitable collision course. Here we are.
<v Speaker 1>Punk says, of course, I would you know. He knew
<v Speaker 1>that he would ruffle some feathers and hurt some feelings,
<v Speaker 1>but he wasn't going to be like a whiner in
<v Speaker 1>the back. He wasn't going to behave like Sammy's ain
<v Speaker 1>or say no like the other mediocre bums in the back.
<v Speaker 1>He seem punk. He will always show up and he
<v Speaker 1>hopes that it pisses people off. And for twenty years
<v Speaker 1>he's been doing just that and for ten of that stretch.
<v Speaker 1>He wasn't even here, but his name made people freak out.
<v Speaker 1>So let's talk about what this is all really about.
<v Speaker 1>This is really about the championship. Punk won't be Cody's
<v Speaker 1>friend tomorrow, but when it's done, it's up to Cody
<v Speaker 1>whether or not they remain friends. Punk just has to
<v Speaker 1>know who's the better man between them. I need to
<v Speaker 1>know for business purposes, he says, I need to know
<v Speaker 1>who the better man is, and Cody's not buying it.
<v Speaker 1>And this is the point in the in the segment
<v Speaker 1>where I noticed that he was wearing the club WWE patch,
<v Speaker 1>Cody was on his jacket. So he also was kind
<v Speaker 1>of taken aback by the fact that when he did
<v Speaker 1>his what do you want to talk about? People were
<v Speaker 1>chanting for cmpunk. They were not as hot for Cody
<v Speaker 1>when he said his usual line, and they were chanting
<v Speaker 1>for Punk. So he says, if this is really about business,
<v Speaker 1>then Punk is just double talking. The title is in business.
<v Speaker 1>It's personal. He knows how personal it is to the
<v Speaker 1>two of them, and it is to everybody else who's
<v Speaker 1>ever held that title and everybody who's never held it.
<v Speaker 1>That belt means that you're the best in the world.
<v Speaker 1>You've got the crown, you call the shots, and he
<v Speaker 1>says he recalls Punk saying that he was here to
<v Speaker 1>make money and not friends. That was the first promo
<v Speaker 1>that Punk cut in twenty twenty three when he came
<v Speaker 1>back to the company. Punk says he wasn't here to
<v Speaker 1>make friends, but he didn't want to lose them either.
<v Speaker 1>But if it's between losing a friend or losing a championship,
<v Speaker 1>well tomorrow, Tomorrow won't be your night. Cody says he's
<v Speaker 1>bothered by the word tomorrow. I don't like that word
<v Speaker 1>because Punk is prepared to do almost anything tomorrow night
<v Speaker 1>at SummerSlam. Well, what do you want to do about it? Tonight?
<v Speaker 1>And Punk tossed the mic, laid down the belt, and
<v Speaker 1>he took his jacket off, and he's fixing for a fight.
<v Speaker 1>Squaring up. Cody tosses his mic. He tosses his jacket
<v Speaker 1>into the crowd. Very interesting. When he took the jacket
<v Speaker 1>off to note that he was wearing all black, Cody
<v Speaker 1>was dressed in black from head to toe. It could
<v Speaker 1>be indicative of nothing, or it could be a sign
<v Speaker 1>of something. I'm just pointing it out he was the
<v Speaker 1>man in black. Punk offered the first shot. He goes,
<v Speaker 1>go ahead and hit me. Cody obliges, and the fight
<v Speaker 1>is on. Cody drops him and then clothes lines him
<v Speaker 1>out of the ring. So they brawled over by the
<v Speaker 1>announced desk, and he starts clearing off the desk. Punk
<v Speaker 1>launches Cody over the desk as I'm sure Triple H
<v Speaker 1>is sitting a gorilla in the back, crossing his fingers
<v Speaker 1>and toes hoping, please don't get hurt. Twenty four hours
<v Speaker 1>before Summer Slam, Please don't get hurt. Punk stands up
<v Speaker 1>on top of the desk. Cody sweeps the legs. Punk
<v Speaker 1>returns the favor. He does the same to Cody. Finally,
<v Speaker 1>here come the officials down to the ring to separate
<v Speaker 1>these two men. And now they're both standing on top
<v Speaker 1>of the desk, and they start firing shots at one another.
<v Speaker 1>And I can't sit here and say that there was
<v Speaker 1>any real intensity between these shots. I mean, I'm kind
<v Speaker 1>of watching it, thinking, man, these guys are moving in
<v Speaker 1>slow motion here, but they're going through the motions though,
<v Speaker 1>throwing punches at each other. So finally they got separated,
<v Speaker 1>and then they broke free and they start trading shots
<v Speaker 1>again on the floor, and this is how they went
<v Speaker 1>off the air. So, you know, with only a few
<v Speaker 1>weeks of hype, Yeah, they only had a few weeks
<v Speaker 1>to hype up this match. What we have really been
<v Speaker 1>left with here is a combination of phony looking belt
<v Speaker 1>shots to the face and you know, forced back elbows
<v Speaker 1>to the face and was it an accident and was
<v Speaker 1>it not an accident? And you know, the words that
<v Speaker 1>they were speaking in the promo were fine, but I
<v Speaker 1>don't think they could have done a worse job of
<v Speaker 1>building up this match and making it feel special. This
<v Speaker 1>should have been a really big fucking deal. And I
<v Speaker 1>don't know if I'm the only way, you know, the
<v Speaker 1>only one who feels this way, But right now, at
<v Speaker 1>this moment, this doesn't feel as big as I feel
<v Speaker 1>like it should be. This could have been a WrestleMania match.
<v Speaker 1>It makes me wonder now what the WrestleMania bill would
<v Speaker 1>have looked like. I don't know, I don't know, maybe
<v Speaker 1>Pat McAfee would have been involved. I'm looking forward to
<v Speaker 1>the match. It's a first time ever match, It's two
<v Speaker 1>of the biggest babyfaces in the company, two of the
<v Speaker 1>biggest names outside of Roman. It's Roman, Cody and Punk.
<v Speaker 1>Put them in whatever order you want to put them in.
<v Speaker 1>I know the order WWE would put them in. It's Roman,
<v Speaker 1>Punk and Cody at this point. But there's just something
<v Speaker 1>missing here. You know there's something missing here. Question is,
<v Speaker 1>you know, does Cody go heel tomorrow night. I'm sticking
<v Speaker 1>by my prediction. My prediction is Punk retains, maybe even
<v Speaker 1>takes a shortcut in doing so, right, do whatever it takes.
<v Speaker 1>I don't see him being the one to go heel.
<v Speaker 1>If anybody goes heal, and maybe they won't, but if
<v Speaker 1>anybody goes Helm, I'm thinking and hoping that it's Cody,
<v Speaker 1>so he would turn. That probably would be a post
<v Speaker 1>match thing. It would be weird for him to do
<v Speaker 1>a turn during the match and still lose, So, if anything,
<v Speaker 1>I think we're looking at maybe a postmatch angle. But
<v Speaker 1>it does also lead us to this news item that
<v Speaker 1>I told you about. I told you I was going
<v Speaker 1>to get to this. This was from Dave Meltzer. He
<v Speaker 1>reported this in the latest installments the latest edition of
<v Speaker 1>the Wrestling Observer newsletter, which dropped earlier today. Randy Orton
<v Speaker 1>and Kevin Owens are both expected to be returning very
<v Speaker 1>soon Orton perhaps in the next week. Owens has dropped
<v Speaker 1>weight after a lengthy and frustratingly long recovery from next surgery.
<v Speaker 1>Orton was one of those guys who claimed he wasn't
<v Speaker 1>injured and he was just taking the summer off, but
<v Speaker 1>in fact he was injured, which I mean, anybody with
<v Speaker 1>a brain could have figured he was injured. You know
<v Speaker 1>when those reports first came out a few months ago, like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>Randy Orton, he's got a back injury again. His back
<v Speaker 1>is acting up on him. That's why we haven't seen
<v Speaker 1>him since WrestleMania. And then Orton, I think, went on
<v Speaker 1>X or whatever, and you know, he posted something like
<v Speaker 1>a response and everyone was like pointing the finger at Meltzer.
<v Speaker 1>Ha ha ha. You know, Dave got it wrong again,
<v Speaker 1>And I'm like, you schmucks. Did you actually read what
<v Speaker 1>Randy Orton wrote? Where in what Orton wrote at the time,
<v Speaker 1>did he deny anything that Meltzer said. He never denied
<v Speaker 1>it because he was hurt. How seriously, I don't know
<v Speaker 1>seriously enough that we haven't seen him since WrestleMania. And
<v Speaker 1>the parting shot from WrestleMania Night one was Randy Orton
<v Speaker 1>after losing the match punt kicking Cody in the skull.
<v Speaker 1>I'm sure that whatever plans they had, the plan was not, Hey,
<v Speaker 1>why don't you punt kick the champion and then vanish
<v Speaker 1>for fucking four months or five months? Right? The only
<v Speaker 1>reason that would have happened is because he was hurt. So, yes,
<v Speaker 1>of course Randy Orton has been hurt. He said he
<v Speaker 1>was actually scheduled to beat Cody at WrestleMania unless they
<v Speaker 1>felt his back was going to not allow it. When
<v Speaker 1>they realized that that was the case, all kinds of
<v Speaker 1>plans were changed. Oh, there were a lot of plans
<v Speaker 1>changed for WrestleMania this year in that main event, unfortunately
<v Speaker 1>for the worst, so much so that it killed my
<v Speaker 1>appetite to even see Cody and Randy. I didn't think
<v Speaker 1>it was possible, but wwe did a great job of
<v Speaker 1>getting me to not give a fuck about Cody Roads
<v Speaker 1>against Randy Orton. So good job, guys. But now here
<v Speaker 1>we are, and so we have this report that Randy
<v Speaker 1>is on his way back very soon and Kevin Owens
<v Speaker 1>is on his way back very soon. Does Randy Orton
<v Speaker 1>show up tomorrow night? Does Randy Orton in some way
<v Speaker 1>factor into this match with Cody Rhodes and Cmpunk is
<v Speaker 1>Randy Orton's return. Let's say it's SummerSlam, a way for
<v Speaker 1>them to do the match tomorrow without giving us a
<v Speaker 1>straight winner, which would be a very lame way for
<v Speaker 1>that match to end if we don't get a winner,
<v Speaker 1>if it's like a no contest or something, that would
<v Speaker 1>be just incredibly lame. But the idea that like Orton's
<v Speaker 1>going to come back and he's going to pick up
<v Speaker 1>the feud with Cody, right, it makes sense because again,
<v Speaker 1>the last we saw him, he punt kicked this man
<v Speaker 1>in the head and Cody never did get his revenge.
<v Speaker 1>So for him to want to pick things up with
<v Speaker 1>Cody would actually make sense if that's the direction they
<v Speaker 1>wanted to go in. Speaking for myself personally, the inclusion
<v Speaker 1>of the Pat McAfee story in that angle ruined the
<v Speaker 1>entire thing for me. Now, maybe they'd like to have
<v Speaker 1>another crack at it and you know, kind of get
<v Speaker 1>a do over. Maybe so maybe. So listening to Cody
<v Speaker 1>talk about that match on Unreal, I mean it was
<v Speaker 1>comical to me, Like, for all the things they cover
<v Speaker 1>on that show, they very conveniently left out how the
<v Speaker 1>whole Pat McAfee thing even came together. That was never
<v Speaker 1>covered at all. They mentioned the fact that Pat was
<v Speaker 1>involved in the angle. Cody is very proud of that
<v Speaker 1>match and how the match turned out. I mean, the
<v Speaker 1>match could have been a hell of a lot worse, right,
<v Speaker 1>they could have had McAfee and Jelly roll out there
<v Speaker 1>for the entire thing. But like to hear them talk
<v Speaker 1>about it, the whole thing was a big success. Everything's great,
<v Speaker 1>everything's great, everything's great, right, But for all the backstage,
<v Speaker 1>behind the scenes stuff they never did get into, like
<v Speaker 1>how that all came about with Pat McAfee. Hm, it's
<v Speaker 1>funny how that works. They tell you what they want
<v Speaker 1>you to know. What they don't want you to know,
<v Speaker 1>you don't hear about. But for people like a Meltzer
<v Speaker 1>or you know, a sap at fight Full or you know,
<v Speaker 1>wrestle Votes or whoever, because you're sure as hell not
<v Speaker 1>going to hear it from WWA. The idea of running
<v Speaker 1>Cody and Randy back, though maybe they could salvage it.
<v Speaker 1>I don't really have an interest in it anymore. Again,
<v Speaker 1>that's me. They kind of killed it for me. Now
<v Speaker 1>on the other hand, I have a great interest in
<v Speaker 1>seeing the return of Kevin Owens. This show has suffered
<v Speaker 1>for him not being on it. Now him alone coming
<v Speaker 1>back is not going to save SmackDown. But if Kevin
<v Speaker 1>Owens comes back and he does end up on smacked
<v Speaker 1>maybe he wouldn't even be on SmackDown. But if he
<v Speaker 1>ends up on SmackDown, that's going to go a long
<v Speaker 1>way to reigniting my interest in this show, especially if
<v Speaker 1>we get a Kevin Owens CM Punk program. That's one
<v Speaker 1>of those programs that ever since Punk came back, I've
<v Speaker 1>been waiting for. And the only thing we've had with
<v Speaker 1>these two, I think, is one backstage segment and that's it.
<v Speaker 1>So you give me that, you give me Ko and
<v Speaker 1>a program with him in Punk. I'm here for that.
<v Speaker 1>That I would love to see. That has my attention,
<v Speaker 1>but we don't even know what brand he would end
<v Speaker 1>up being on. I said it at the beginning though
<v Speaker 1>of this review, the best parts of this show tonight
<v Speaker 1>were basically anything involving Nick All, this Hakou, and the
<v Speaker 1>closing credits, because that meant the show was over. SmackDown
<v Speaker 1>is a largely terrible show. It was your typical SmackDown tonight.
<v Speaker 1>This show did not do anything. It did zero to
<v Speaker 1>get me any more invested or excited for summer. Salim,
<v Speaker 1>you're either excited for Summer climb Ory or not. I
<v Speaker 1>wouldn't use the word excited. There are matches I'm looking
<v Speaker 1>forward to. I'm looking forward to the Helen a Cell match.
<v Speaker 1>I am looking forward to Cody and Punk. I just
<v Speaker 1>wish that there was more umph to it going into it,
<v Speaker 1>and there isn't. But it's why say in the Night
<v Speaker 1>one is just it's such a better card than Night Too.
<v Speaker 1>You know, you got Cody and Punk first time ever,
<v Speaker 1>you got the Helen a Cell match, you got all
<v Speaker 1>this in gun Through. There's that interest in seeing Nick
<v Speaker 1>all this back in the ring right first time in WWE.
<v Speaker 1>What's that going to look like? Live an e O
<v Speaker 1>is Living EO tomorrow? I believe it is. So there's
<v Speaker 1>a lot more that I like on the card tomorrow
<v Speaker 1>than Sunday. But no, thanks to SmackDown. SmackDown didn't do
<v Speaker 1>a whole hell of a lot to get me excited
<v Speaker 1>for this show. But thank you guys for hanging out
<v Speaker 1>with me and indulging me here on this Friday night
<v Speaker 1>what was worse this week, SmackDown or Raw? I don't
<v Speaker 1>know if I have a good answer for you, honestly.
<v Speaker 1>I mean that Raw show had one of the worst
<v Speaker 1>segments of all year, so it's kind of more heavily
<v Speaker 1>weighted in the negative category. Neither show was good this week.
<v Speaker 1>You know what's scarier about that show? On Monday though,
<v Speaker 1>they were at the End to It Dome in Los Angeles,
<v Speaker 1>and apparently there were tons of Netflix executives there, so
<v Speaker 1>it was a very important show, Like the pressure was
<v Speaker 1>on the creative team to put on a really good show.
<v Speaker 1>And knowing that they actually came up with the idea
<v Speaker 1>for that concert slop that we saw, knowing that there
<v Speaker 1>were executives there and the pressure was on them. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know what it says about the creative team,
<v Speaker 1>but whatever it is, it's not good that they actually
<v Speaker 1>looked at that and said, hey, you know what we
<v Speaker 1>need on this show. This segment's gold Gold, Jerry Gold,
<v Speaker 1>and they thought that they needed it on that show
<v Speaker 1>with Ryan Garcia no less. Out of twelve matches, how
<v Speaker 1>many will go less than eight minutes? I reckon quite
<v Speaker 1>a few. If it's anything like Night one of wrestle
<v Speaker 1>many of this year. Fucking Stephanie and Live couldn't even
<v Speaker 1>get seven minutes. All right, we're gonna start with dry
<v Speaker 1>chicken here with a five dollars super chat. Triple H
<v Speaker 1>is gonna cook up nice and neat match card added
<v Speaker 1>lots of salt, spices and season names for each match.
<v Speaker 1>Don't burn down the kitchen. Yeah, I wouldn't exactly say
<v Speaker 1>he's cooking these days. Death Scythe says after Summer Slam,
<v Speaker 1>Oba should win the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in
<v Speaker 1>the Bank because there is such a thing as waiting
<v Speaker 1>too long, and if there is a possibility of Rock
<v Speaker 1>and Roman at WrestleMania, they need to get that belt
<v Speaker 1>off Roman before then. Well, this is the issue, isn't it.
<v Speaker 1>When you kind of rely on the possibility that Rock
<v Speaker 1>may show up every year and he doesn't. They don't
<v Speaker 1>find these things out until it's too late. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>even if Rock was available, I would prefer they stick
<v Speaker 1>with Rock and Oba. But Saudi Mania, if they want Rock,
<v Speaker 1>Rock and Roman is going to be the match. So
<v Speaker 1>but to put the belt on Oba money in the Bank,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. Yeah, I mean whatever, especially if Roman's
<v Speaker 1>not gonna be around every week, then just take the
<v Speaker 1>fucking belt off him. Broli says, Baler and Sammy all
<v Speaker 1>over forty, Punkin Cody over forty, Gunther and all this
<v Speaker 1>over forty. Those three tag teams tonight all over forty,
<v Speaker 1>and Truth is over fifty. This is embarrassing. Yeah, well,
<v Speaker 1>I mean Oba is not over forty. Trick Williams is
<v Speaker 1>not over forty. Dominic Mysterio is not over forty. It's
<v Speaker 1>not like they don't have young stars on the roster,
<v Speaker 1>But then you look at some of them and where
<v Speaker 1>they were where they are now. Jacob Fatu, bron Breaker
<v Speaker 1>mellow it is. It is embarrassing. Death Site says there's
<v Speaker 1>a horror a horror video game I recently discovered called Mermaid.
<v Speaker 1>It's about a girl who was kidnapped and turned into
<v Speaker 1>a mermaid against her will. And it gave me the
<v Speaker 1>fly tusk and human centipede vibes. It's a game. I've
<v Speaker 1>never heard of this game before that on Steam. Gonna
<v Speaker 1>send me a link Holiday one ninety seven with an
<v Speaker 1>Australian twenty here. Hey Solo, if Orton comes back, they
<v Speaker 1>need to put him on raw to feud him with
<v Speaker 1>Roman or maybe even Oba to bide time until the
<v Speaker 1>year's end. Raw is lacking top players and SmackDown is
<v Speaker 1>getting crowded with them. Orton versus Cody is ruined. It
<v Speaker 1>may be, it may be ruined. I don't know about
<v Speaker 1>putting Orton on Raw, though I almost feel like it
<v Speaker 1>might be better off putting Owens on Raw. But then
<v Speaker 1>we can't get Owens and punks. So yeah, that's sort
<v Speaker 1>of the trade off there. I'd rather Owen stay un
<v Speaker 1>smack then when he comes back. Death Side says, I
<v Speaker 1>would rather push a guy like La Knight, who's in
<v Speaker 1>their forties, charismatic and can connect with the audience over
<v Speaker 1>a guy like Austin Theory, who's in their twenties and
<v Speaker 1>has the personality of a doorknob. Well, you keep banking
<v Speaker 1>on that La Night push. You may be waiting a while.
<v Speaker 1>I don't disagree that he should be, you know, doing
<v Speaker 1>more than he is, and he is he is very charismatic.
<v Speaker 1>But you just get to a point where you gotta
<v Speaker 1>just you got to turn the page and accept that
<v Speaker 1>they just don't see it the same way. Brolly says.
<v Speaker 1>Blake hasn't wrestled since April, Keana is buried, Juliet is
<v Speaker 1>Jordan is missing, jac is about to be fed to
<v Speaker 1>the bellas I feel for HBK. Yeah, you know, he
<v Speaker 1>basically just kind of he tees him on up and
<v Speaker 1>they just keep swinging and missing. I don't understand deaths,
<v Speaker 1>I says, imagine if Haku became Brocklesner's advocates. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>that's that's a lot of man. There as too much
<v Speaker 1>testosterone in the ring together. The Sheltered Kid says, how
<v Speaker 1>big was the rise of Jeff Hardy in two thousand
<v Speaker 1>and eight? It was pretty big. I'm pretty sure he
<v Speaker 1>became the number one merch seller there for a while.
<v Speaker 1>I think he usurped Sina. But again, were it not
<v Speaker 1>for his issues and you know, unreliability at the time,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, the sky was the limit for him. It
<v Speaker 1>was very high. It was very high up there. Brole
<v Speaker 1>says in NXT they are treated like goddesses. As soon
<v Speaker 1>as Triple H gets his hands on them, He's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>wins and losses don't matter, and time for wrestling doesn't either. Well,
<v Speaker 1>I mean that would have been an interesting question for them,
<v Speaker 1>in a respectful way, perhaps to ask him when he
<v Speaker 1>spent twenty minutes on Busted Open Radio on WWE Radio
<v Speaker 1>the other day, and they asked him and it was
<v Speaker 1>it was Dave Legreca and it was Nick Nemeth, and
<v Speaker 1>they asked him exactly one question in the entire interview.
<v Speaker 1>The rest of it was just random comments. One question
<v Speaker 1>that Nemeth asked about live events. Otherwise they let him
<v Speaker 1>just blather on about pretty much nothing. It was quite
<v Speaker 1>the insightful interview. But see, that would be a very
<v Speaker 1>interesting question as far as his philosophy when it comes
<v Speaker 1>to the women on the main roster and why we
<v Speaker 1>have some of these deficiencies when it comes to the
<v Speaker 1>women's division and some of the faces of the division
<v Speaker 1>on Ron SmackDown, But that's not a question you can ask.
<v Speaker 1>GMB with the dollar ninety nine says SmackDown women's division
<v Speaker 1>has been down since Bianca's injury. I wouldn't say it's
<v Speaker 1>been down since then, because there was a period of
<v Speaker 1>time where, I mean, I feel like there was a
<v Speaker 1>period of time there where it was still okay. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>Bianca's been out now for what a year and a half.
<v Speaker 1>I maybe I'm misremembering the uh spring and summer of
<v Speaker 1>twenty five. I don't know, but she has missed has
<v Speaker 1>has she? Has she popped yet? I saw these pictures
<v Speaker 1>of her on social media like a week ago, and
<v Speaker 1>my god, she looked like she's housing quadruplets. That looked
<v Speaker 1>incredibly uncomfortable. But she looked like she was about to
<v Speaker 1>pop any day. I don't know if she's had her
<v Speaker 1>baby yet or not. Her finger still looks very gnarly. Yeah, no,
<v Speaker 1>her her finger is still fucked. Broley says, Ricky and
<v Speaker 1>Mellow were on main event. Yes, that's what I had
<v Speaker 1>saw earlier from Broley. Main event. You want to see
<v Speaker 1>Carmelo Hayes and Ricky says, that's where you can go.
<v Speaker 1>Joseph Marris, I don't see WWE taking the title off live,
<v Speaker 1>as they'll want her to have the belt with her
<v Speaker 1>while promoting her movie, which comes out next month. Is
<v Speaker 1>that that bad Lieutenant movie? Forgot about that? Well? I
<v Speaker 1>hope they take the title off for her, but let's
<v Speaker 1>be honest, even if they do, when they put it
<v Speaker 1>on EO, it's not like the booking is going to
<v Speaker 1>be any different. We got Rojo Bet twenty four says
<v Speaker 1>I was stuck in traffic for over an hour and
<v Speaker 1>a half today and it was better than SmackDown. It's
<v Speaker 1>like that guy that wrote in this was many years ago.
<v Speaker 1>He sent a super chat in and it was on
<v Speaker 1>a Monday Night rawstream. He said, I buried my grandfather
<v Speaker 1>today and that still wasn't as bad as Monday Night Raw.
<v Speaker 1>I've never forgotten that, but that must have been a
<v Speaker 1>bad episode of Raw. Andre Jefferson with a ten hey solo.
<v Speaker 1>I could see the Bellas turning on Page, and after
<v Speaker 1>Page continues to be on the losing end against the
<v Speaker 1>Bellas she gets help from aj Lee. Could be the
<v Speaker 1>other thought I had was Page going heel and maybe
<v Speaker 1>linking up with a fatal influence. But I could see
<v Speaker 1>that too. Then the Bellows would be healed. But they
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. I mean, they turned Nicki bella heel
<v Speaker 1>late last year and then one day she just stopped
<v Speaker 1>being healed. I guess when her sister came in. It
<v Speaker 1>was like forgotten about. So they already did one failed
<v Speaker 1>heel term with Nicky. I don't know if they want
<v Speaker 1>to go right back to that. Yeah, yeah. Bliss Fen
<v Speaker 1>says they didn't say a word tonight about the Bellows match.
<v Speaker 1>This weekend. They didn't. We had no bloodline segments tonight. Man,
<v Speaker 1>you would think I would love this show. That's how
<v Speaker 1>bad the show was. Even without bloodline segments, which normally
<v Speaker 1>would be a relief, the show still sucked. Robbie says
<v Speaker 1>justice for Julia beginning to trend. It's not gonna matter.
<v Speaker 1>It's not gonna matter. You're wasting your time. She's cooked,
<v Speaker 1>her goose is cooked. Prepare for Julia in Marigold. No,
<v Speaker 1>we'll get to see the old Julia back venom cantetsuit.
<v Speaker 1>Did you catch the all This chat with CVV? I did?
<v Speaker 1>I mentioned that earlier. I never saw any of his
<v Speaker 1>in ring work before, so I really only have genuine
<v Speaker 1>interest in his match with Gunther over the whole weekend.
<v Speaker 1>Even under the suit, he looks battle ready. Well. I
<v Speaker 1>think in that interview he even said like it might
<v Speaker 1>have been Mickey Mickey James who told him, you know,
<v Speaker 1>always be Randy Orton told him also, always be ready,
<v Speaker 1>because there were rumors when Orton had that open challenge
<v Speaker 1>of WrestleMania last year that maybe it was going to
<v Speaker 1>be all this and it turned out not to be,
<v Speaker 1>but they told him, like, you gotta be ready, dude,
<v Speaker 1>because when the time comes, they're you're not going to
<v Speaker 1>give you a big heads up. You're not gonna have
<v Speaker 1>months and months to train and prepare. You're gonna have
<v Speaker 1>to turn that shit around pretty quick. So you've got
<v Speaker 1>to always keep yourself in like ring shape, and sure enough,
<v Speaker 1>here we are. I don't think you got a big
<v Speaker 1>heads up about this, Dried Chicken says, TKO and WWE
<v Speaker 1>Creative really make you hate pro wrestling in America. Well,
<v Speaker 1>the good news is there's other pro wrestling in America,
<v Speaker 1>which is why competition is a good thing. Leo says,
<v Speaker 1>Keana James. Being left off Summer Slam is a crime.
<v Speaker 1>Fuck this company, well, said Dry Chicken says, we need
<v Speaker 1>to break out the megaphone and tell Carmelo Hayes to
<v Speaker 1>get out of SmackDown and go to Raw, as if
<v Speaker 1>it would be any different over there. Come on, brother,
<v Speaker 1>you're smarter than that. What was the likes goal tonight?
<v Speaker 1>The likes goal tonight was five fifty. What do we have?
<v Speaker 1>Five sixty six? So we're guaranteed the one round to
<v Speaker 1>be the booker, but we're eight out of ten. Look
<v Speaker 1>at that on the bonus goals, so we may actually
<v Speaker 1>get two rounds tonight. Oh we got Jeremy with a
<v Speaker 1>double super chat. Here. Look at this. I don't know
<v Speaker 1>if a word is missing or if there's a previous
<v Speaker 1>chat that I missed. It's like it picks up in
<v Speaker 1>the middle of a sentence. It looks like I think
<v Speaker 1>he means, of course, of course they want Julia over.
<v Speaker 1>Just have her beat the shit out of EO, maybe
<v Speaker 1>cost her the title. Win a match versus EO, and
<v Speaker 1>Julia would be a major heel. I got news for you, brother.
<v Speaker 1>She wouldn't be. She's not over now. You could say
<v Speaker 1>she's not over in part because the booking hasn't helped her,
<v Speaker 1>and she's not on television consistently. If they gave her
<v Speaker 1>someone maybe like EO, because EO is beloved. Everybody loves EO, right,
<v Speaker 1>they pointing at themselves, and EO is just she's a
<v Speaker 1>fun person to watch. And anybody who beats up EO, yes,
<v Speaker 1>you're probably gonna get booed. But this idea that well,
<v Speaker 1>just put her with EO and she'll beat up EO
<v Speaker 1>and she'll be this mega heel. She won't be. She
<v Speaker 1>won't be because I don't trust them to book her
<v Speaker 1>consistently enough to get her there, and at the moment
<v Speaker 1>she's not there. Fans have not taken to her, and
<v Speaker 1>they don't seem to be in any great sense of
<v Speaker 1>urgency to do something different with her that might help
<v Speaker 1>get her there. Like she went from heel to babyface,
<v Speaker 1>But what has she done is a babyface. She's done nothing.
<v Speaker 1>She beat Keana, she got jumped by Blake, and she's
<v Speaker 1>done nothing ever since. This is what I'm talking about.
<v Speaker 1>It's what's so maddening about this. They don't put the
<v Speaker 1>effort in. She done, Dude, she's done. It's over. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I'm done giving them the benefit of the doubt when
<v Speaker 1>it comes to her. Says Creative needs an ex female
<v Speaker 1>wrestler on the team if they could find the right person.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, they have Molly Holly working for them, but
<v Speaker 1>I don't think she's on Creative. I think she's a producer.
<v Speaker 1>Tried Chicken says it won't surprise me if Julia decides
<v Speaker 1>to walk out. Much more likely that they'll just you know,
<v Speaker 1>let her contract wind down and then she can leave,
<v Speaker 1>or they get rid of her first, which I hope
<v Speaker 1>doesn't happen. But I mean, I'm sorry. They have gotten
<v Speaker 1>rid of people who were literally in the middle of storyline.
<v Speaker 1>They got rid of Kyrie in the middle of a
<v Speaker 1>storyline without even paying it off. You think Julia is
<v Speaker 1>immune from that tracking problems. Remember when Andrada used to
<v Speaker 1>call staying stink good times, Yes, I do, it was
<v Speaker 1>quite funny. He's a man called stink. Arabian Night two
<v Speaker 1>thousand says Julia is dead. Triple H permanently ruined her
<v Speaker 1>next year, she should go to AW or hope to
<v Speaker 1>get mercifully cut post WrestleMania, along with another misused talent
<v Speaker 1>in Jordan Grace. I don't know. I mean, when Julia
<v Speaker 1>became available, there was talk that AW really had no
<v Speaker 1>interest in bringing her in, that there were people there
<v Speaker 1>who were not fond of Julia. So I don't know
<v Speaker 1>that she would necessarily be welcomed into AW, but I
<v Speaker 1>guess we'll wait and see. And we just hit the
<v Speaker 1>bonus goal, So thank you guys. We hit the ten
<v Speaker 1>out of ten on that one. And now I'm going
<v Speaker 1>to stop that one and I'm just gonna toss this
<v Speaker 1>out there for a potential third round when one goal
<v Speaker 1>is achieved. We had a new one. How about it?
<v Speaker 1>How about it? Indeed the Juliets Bill Buckner still hasn't
<v Speaker 1>bent over to pick that ball up. Damn shame, Austin,
<v Speaker 1>Thank you again for that twenty eight dollars super chat.
<v Speaker 1>Austin's excited he's going to Summer Slim. It's his first
<v Speaker 1>live event. That's pretty big. Summer Slim used to be
<v Speaker 1>one of my top it was really rumble in Summer Slam.
<v Speaker 1>We're my favorite events of the year, going back to
<v Speaker 1>like golden era times, lots of great classic Summer Slim shows.
<v Speaker 1>I miss I missed those old school Summer slams with
<v Speaker 1>that original theme song. That's when it felt like Summer Slime.
<v Speaker 1>Tucky Neutron with the four ninety nine feeling like shit
<v Speaker 1>lately mental health is no joke. Thanks for being my
<v Speaker 1>getaway when I feel like the world is against me
<v Speaker 1>and I suck as a person. Well, Tucky Neutron, you
<v Speaker 1>do not suck as a person. In fact, I was
<v Speaker 1>going to say that username is actually one of the
<v Speaker 1>cooler ones that we have here. I love that name,
<v Speaker 1>Tucky Neutron. So I don't know what is going on
<v Speaker 1>right now on a personal level, but what I can
<v Speaker 1>tell you is that you have a whole community of
<v Speaker 1>people here who are very happy to have you, and
<v Speaker 1>hopefully you will be with us this weekend and many
<v Speaker 1>more times in the future, so you don't have to
<v Speaker 1>think that at all. Dry Chicken says when Bracklesner locked
<v Speaker 1>the hell in a cell door on Oba Femei, he
<v Speaker 1>says that he would purposely to give Lesnar a hawked
<v Speaker 1>tua in his face, like MJF or you know, they
<v Speaker 1>could have just lifted the cell since they were both
<v Speaker 1>supposed to be out there for a scheduled weigh in,
<v Speaker 1>but apparently locking the door renders them unable to lift
<v Speaker 1>the cell. Do you know I had There were people
<v Speaker 1>who argued, because they'll defend anything that this company does
<v Speaker 1>to the death. If it's their dying breath, they'll defend it.
<v Speaker 1>And they defended that by saying, well, Triple H was
<v Speaker 1>just trying to protect his investment. He didn't want the
<v Speaker 1>two of them to go at it and ruin the
<v Speaker 1>plan cell match for this weekend. But of course the
<v Speaker 1>basic counterpoint to that would be Rock came out because
<v Speaker 1>there was a scheduled weigh in, so I mean they
<v Speaker 1>knew what they were doing. When they invited the two
<v Speaker 1>of them out to the ring together and they were
<v Speaker 1>both supposed to be there, but no, we can't lift
<v Speaker 1>the cell now because we don't want them to engage
<v Speaker 1>in any kind of physicality. I see death Site says
<v Speaker 1>Omega and Osprey has more heat and feels like a
<v Speaker 1>bigger match than Punk and Cody, and I originally thought
<v Speaker 1>it was going to be the other way around. I
<v Speaker 1>will say this. I will say this, the closing segment
<v Speaker 1>that we had on Dynamite on Wednesday was better than
<v Speaker 1>the closing segment that we had with Punk and Cody
<v Speaker 1>tonight in terms of the actual like promo stuff. I know,
<v Speaker 1>we didn't really get too much physicality between Omega and Osprey,
<v Speaker 1>but Omega and Osprey is also four weeks away, right
<v Speaker 1>Cody and Punk is twenty four hours away, so it's
<v Speaker 1>a little bit different, but especially Osprey more so than Omega.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't think Omega was great in that segment. He
<v Speaker 1>was good, but I thought that Osprey and his intensity
<v Speaker 1>and everything really sold that match in that segment, and
<v Speaker 1>we didn't get anything like that tonight with punkin Cody
<v Speaker 1>John says thoughts on Grayson Waller burying the TNA Heavyweight
<v Speaker 1>title on NXT. This WWETNA partnership is awful. Anyway, just
<v Speaker 1>got my h og La ticket excited. You should be. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>we just made the announcement back to Los Angeles on
<v Speaker 1>September fourth, so hopefully I get to see some of
<v Speaker 1>you guys there. Yeah. I'm gonna chime in on the
<v Speaker 1>Waller promo on the sound off this week. And I like,
<v Speaker 1>I was live on JD's channel for TNT on Tuesday,
<v Speaker 1>and I like glanced over and everybody in the chat
<v Speaker 1>was going nuts about this grace of Waller promo. So like,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, oh man, this must be some great fucking promo.
<v Speaker 1>I can't wait to watch this. And then I watched it,
<v Speaker 1>and I'll I'll give you my full thoughts on the
<v Speaker 1>sound off on Sunday. I will say, I did hear
<v Speaker 1>the line where he buried the TNA title. If it's
<v Speaker 1>going to lead somewhere, like if it's possibly going to
<v Speaker 1>lead to him maybe going to TNA to challenge for
<v Speaker 1>the championship, that's one thing. But yeah, yeah, you would
<v Speaker 1>never like the equivalent of that. You would never see that,
<v Speaker 1>Like TNA would never allow somebody right now to go
<v Speaker 1>on their show and say anything remotely similar to that
<v Speaker 1>about WWE. It's a very one sided partnership. Honestly. It's
<v Speaker 1>kind of the way I feel about AAW and CML
<v Speaker 1>and the way that they book persephone on AW television.
<v Speaker 1>There's no like, there's no planet in which Tony Kahan
<v Speaker 1>would reciprocate that and allow his Women's champion to go
<v Speaker 1>into CMLL and be treated the same way. It's it's
<v Speaker 1>one very one sided in that regard. Alexander says, one
<v Speaker 1>day every pl E will be two nights. I sure
<v Speaker 1>as fuck hope not. I hope not. By the way,
<v Speaker 1>the thing about that Grace of Waller promo, because there
<v Speaker 1>were a lot of comparisons select the pipe bomb and everything.
<v Speaker 1>It was not a pipe bomb. People have to stop
<v Speaker 1>making that comparison. Uh it was. It was not a
<v Speaker 1>pipe bomb. It was an important promo, though for a
<v Speaker 1>very different reason. It had nothing to do with the
<v Speaker 1>substance of it. So we'll talk about that on Sunday.
<v Speaker 1>Jeremy Rose says Night two is straight trash. Better have
<v Speaker 1>some major angle to end the night. Night one has
<v Speaker 1>every match I want to see and the bella match
<v Speaker 1>for the bathroom break. Well, sometimes you just got to
<v Speaker 1>drain the lizard, and I guess everyone has their bathroom
<v Speaker 1>break match. I'm surprised they're doing both six person tags
<v Speaker 1>in the same night. I would think that they would
<v Speaker 1>want to separate them, but the men's match with the
<v Speaker 1>Bloodline and the women's match are both on the same night.
<v Speaker 1>Joseph Brooks with a nine ninety nine. Isn't it crazy
<v Speaker 1>to see what Triple H has done with most of
<v Speaker 1>the NXT stars called up recently, especially Gargano. These guys
<v Speaker 1>were like his NXT babies. Now he treats them like
<v Speaker 1>unwanted step children. Well it's like as his kids have
<v Speaker 1>gotten older, he just doesn't want to have anything to
<v Speaker 1>do with them. It kind of does feel that way. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean it's I don't have a good explanation for you,
<v Speaker 1>it is. It is very crazy. Death Side Ko can
<v Speaker 1>still be on Raw and feud with Punk on SmackDown
<v Speaker 1>because what brand split? After all, Dan Housen is on
<v Speaker 1>both fucking shows nearly every single week. This is true,
<v Speaker 1>And actually Sammy's aim made a great point, like he
<v Speaker 1>was forced to defend the WWE Championship, which is a
<v Speaker 1>SmackDown title on Raw against Punk, which is how he lost.
<v Speaker 1>He goes, I never should have been forced to defend
<v Speaker 1>my title on Raw to begin with. It's a very
<v Speaker 1>good point, Joseph says. I see that Izzy the superfan
<v Speaker 1>is getting a lot better in the ring. I remember
<v Speaker 1>you would have you had a storyline involving her and Bailey.
<v Speaker 1>I did. I pitched it. God, I pitched it probably
<v Speaker 1>nine or ten years ago, when she was still a
<v Speaker 1>little girl. I pitched a whole storyline on the sound
<v Speaker 1>off where one day she comes in and actually I
<v Speaker 1>think I pitched a couple of them. I think one
<v Speaker 1>involving Mercedes, which is not gonna happen now, but you know,
<v Speaker 1>one where she debuts and she actually attacks Bailey. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know Bailey will be in WWE by the time.
<v Speaker 1>Is he might get a look by the companies. She
<v Speaker 1>might not even be there anymore. I'd get more into
<v Speaker 1>the details and everything. But is he has me blocked?
<v Speaker 1>So I noticed that a few years ago. I couldn't
<v Speaker 1>tell you why, but I haven't been I haven't seen
<v Speaker 1>anything that she's posted or any sort of updates on
<v Speaker 1>her in years, because even if I wanted to, I
<v Speaker 1>can't follow along the Juliet three sixteen with a ten.
<v Speaker 1>Forty five years ago, MTV debuted Oh My God. Also,
<v Speaker 1>please no spoilers for the latest Spider Man movie in
<v Speaker 1>the chat, and aj styles Son was victorious in his
<v Speaker 1>GHC debut. Yeah, I'm not gonna be seeing the Spider
<v Speaker 1>Man movie because I just I'm not going to get
<v Speaker 1>so many of the references. And if I am going
<v Speaker 1>to attempt to go back with these Marvel movies and
<v Speaker 1>try to play catch up before Doomsday comes out, I
<v Speaker 1>feel like this one, I've got to wait. I haven't
<v Speaker 1>seen any of the other Tom Holland ones, so to
<v Speaker 1>see this one doesn't make any sense. But I will
<v Speaker 1>say I was curious. I looked up the movie showings
<v Speaker 1>and I don't know how it is by you, but
<v Speaker 1>they're all sold out. I just was curious. I went
<v Speaker 1>on the website for like the nearest theater and they're
<v Speaker 1>all sold out. And I see that it made movie
<v Speaker 1>history yesterday, that movie, that new Spider Man movie made
<v Speaker 1>more money in Thursday previews than any movie in history,
<v Speaker 1>seventy two million dollars on Thursday, seventy two million dollars.
<v Speaker 1>That's insane, Like it beat Endgame, which I know was
<v Speaker 1>a big deal when Avengers Endgame came out and it
<v Speaker 1>beat Endgame numbers. Now, I don't know if it'll do
<v Speaker 1>that for the entire weekend, but for Thursday, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>that's that's pretty impressive. It getting good scores too. It's
<v Speaker 1>probably a great movie. I just I gotta see the
<v Speaker 1>other ones first before I see this one. Yeah, it
<v Speaker 1>looks like it's sold out everywhere. I don't think it's
<v Speaker 1>in Imax though, I think because all the Imax showings
<v Speaker 1>are still sold out. With Odyssey, Odyssey only had a
<v Speaker 1>twenty five percent drop, which is which is incredible. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I figure with this new movie, the Spider Man movie,
<v Speaker 1>it would have dropped a lot more than that, But
<v Speaker 1>twenty five percent drop is great. It's good though. It's
<v Speaker 1>good to see the movies making a rebound in theaters
<v Speaker 1>because you know, the pandemic really killed it and then
<v Speaker 1>there was all this talk about how you know, the
<v Speaker 1>movie theater industry is going to go out of business.
<v Speaker 1>It's not gonna be movie theaters anymore. This has been
<v Speaker 1>like a huge rebound year for movie theaters. So it's
<v Speaker 1>good to see Super Pony. Would it be overbooked if
<v Speaker 1>they had Randy cost Cody and Owen's attack punk after
<v Speaker 1>the match. Yes, doesn't mean that I wouldn't like to
<v Speaker 1>see it. You just asked me if it would be overbooked.
<v Speaker 1>The answer is yes. It. Look there was a match
<v Speaker 1>in the Owenhart Tournament with Will Ospury and Mark Davis
<v Speaker 1>that I loved, incredibly overbooked, probably the most overbooked match
<v Speaker 1>I've seen all year, and I fucking loved it. Overbooking
<v Speaker 1>doesn't necessarily mean bad, right, you don't want to make
<v Speaker 1>a habit out of it. It depends on what you're doing.
<v Speaker 1>The WrestleMania forty main event was overbooked as all shit.
<v Speaker 1>It's one of the best WrestleMania main events of all time.
<v Speaker 1>It just depends on the situation. If it leads, if
<v Speaker 1>it's going somewhere where it's going to lead to something great,
<v Speaker 1>then it's okay. Gary Sean with a nine to ninety nine,
<v Speaker 1>just showing love, no message, Hey Gary, thank you man,
<v Speaker 1>actually a couple. Look at that he dropped two of them.
<v Speaker 1>We're two out of five. Two on that other goal,
<v Speaker 1>Hey Gary, thank you. But Juliet says with a fourteen,
<v Speaker 1>if you could challenge anybody to do the ice Bucket challenge?
<v Speaker 1>Who would you challenge? Oh, I don't know anybody who
<v Speaker 1>wants to partake. Anybody who wants to partake and help
<v Speaker 1>out a good cause. I think it's great. It kind
<v Speaker 1>of died down there for a while, Like the ice
<v Speaker 1>Bucket Challenge was like a big thing a few years ago,
<v Speaker 1>and and then I feel like you didn't hear about it,
<v Speaker 1>and then it sort of made a comeback. It's just
<v Speaker 1>very sad though, Like everyone's like, ah haha, it's like
<v Speaker 1>a fun thing to do and everything, but like, it's
<v Speaker 1>just it's such a horrible, insidious disease and the fact
<v Speaker 1>that there's it feels like there's more and more people
<v Speaker 1>being diagnosed with it. It's terrifying. It's just it's terrifying
<v Speaker 1>to think about. Leo says, I'm not saying I want
<v Speaker 1>Keana to leave, but her on the indies tearing shit up.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe a TNA run would be amazing. It would be
<v Speaker 1>so great to see her show what she's capable of
<v Speaker 1>and stick it to WWA. You know when they broke
<v Speaker 1>up her in Juliet or we knew that it was
<v Speaker 1>it was coming, right, I said, Keana is the one
<v Speaker 1>who they're probably going to be more apt to push
<v Speaker 1>more than Julia. And now I'm like, I don't even
<v Speaker 1>know if they have I don't even know if they
<v Speaker 1>have the desire to push Keana. I don't under I
<v Speaker 1>don't understand the mentality behind cooling so many of these
<v Speaker 1>people down at a time when you can really use
<v Speaker 1>some new faces in the women's division. Rhea Ripley is
<v Speaker 1>your champion. She's been out of action since the beginning
<v Speaker 1>of June. You would think that this is an opportunity
<v Speaker 1>to really push more new faces. Blake Monroe kind of
<v Speaker 1>sort of debuted, but yet she won't wrestle. Julie has
<v Speaker 1>been buried. Keana is missing. Jordan Gray, I forget about
<v Speaker 1>Jordan Gray. Jordan Grace is done. I don't know what's
<v Speaker 1>going on, dude. I don't know. I don't know. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know why any of this is happening. It's the
<v Speaker 1>whole thing is a fucking mess. And Nick Rosso with
<v Speaker 1>a nine ninety nine really enjoyed the Big boss Man
<v Speaker 1>Dark side of the Ring episode. Didn't know we had
<v Speaker 1>a painkiller addiction. I was surprised that so many people
<v Speaker 1>offended by ninety nine boss Men. Also can't believe they
<v Speaker 1>recreated the Hell in a Cell Spot. Yeah, they did
<v Speaker 1>recreate it. They do a good job on the recreations
<v Speaker 1>on the show. I enjoyed the episode. I've got a
<v Speaker 1>full review. I've got a lot to say about that
<v Speaker 1>and stuff that wasn't included as I usually do. But
<v Speaker 1>you'll get that on the sound off this weekend. Full
<v Speaker 1>recap of the Big boss Man, one of the more
<v Speaker 1>memorable characters from my wrestling childhood. Okay, Jeremy didn't want
<v Speaker 1>to hear me say that. I guess Jeremy Rose a
<v Speaker 1>twenty dollars super chat says enough, Jeremy, I'll get to
<v Speaker 1>you in a second. We're three out of five now
<v Speaker 1>on that double bonus goal. We have who we have?
<v Speaker 1>Who we have? We have? Joseph Cherish keep borrow sell
<v Speaker 1>on title runs that should have happened in their respective
<v Speaker 1>brands at the time, says hy t J as WCW
<v Speaker 1>champion in WCW rv D is ECW champion in the
<v Speaker 1>original ECW, Monty Brown and TNA Cody in AEW Monty
<v Speaker 1>Brown for sure in TNA. I mean, I gotta I gotta,
<v Speaker 1>Cherish on that one. That guy had a ton of charisma.
<v Speaker 1>They were a young company that was growing, and you
<v Speaker 1>never know who catches fire, and maybe it could have
<v Speaker 1>been him. You know, you will never know, but it's
<v Speaker 1>just crazy to me that he never you know, he
<v Speaker 1>never got there. As far as rv D, I'd probably
<v Speaker 1>go with at number two. I didn't put him a
<v Speaker 1>number one just because I feel like the injury kept
<v Speaker 1>him out for so long and he was destined to
<v Speaker 1>move on to bigger things. But of course rv D
<v Speaker 1>is ECW champion. I mean that would have made a
<v Speaker 1>lot of sense Cody and Aw and then I put
<v Speaker 1>why to Jay last I never felt like Jericho as
<v Speaker 1>WCW champion. Uh seemed unrealistic to me, at least at
<v Speaker 1>that time. Had he stuck around and sure, but dry
<v Speaker 1>Chicken says, when Kenny Omega's character gets paranoid, he makes
<v Speaker 1>terrible decisions that always have consequences for his actions, so
<v Speaker 1>it makes him a good heel. I'm not sure he's
<v Speaker 1>supposed to be a heel right now, but he was
<v Speaker 1>definitely coming off more heelish On Wednesday, Super Pony, do
<v Speaker 1>you think it's more likely we get Owens tomorrow night
<v Speaker 1>or on SmackDown on the twenty first in Toronto. I
<v Speaker 1>think when he comes back, it's not going to matter
<v Speaker 1>whether they're in Toronto or not. I think it's more
<v Speaker 1>likely if anybody that we get Orton, then we do
<v Speaker 1>Owens tomorrow. I don't think Toronto really has anything to
<v Speaker 1>do with it, and death Side says it's amazing how
<v Speaker 1>Grayson Waller has made himself more relevant in eight minutes
<v Speaker 1>than Austin Theory has in eight months. Dry Chicken says,
<v Speaker 1>Julia will purposely appear on TNA unannounced. Yeah, like they
<v Speaker 1>would put her on there. TNA is gonna go rogue
<v Speaker 1>and show Julia. I don't think so. I don't think so.
<v Speaker 1>And Jeremy rose with a twenty anyway, Orton and Kao
<v Speaker 1>returned to help Cody, creating a stable storyline. Wise, Cody
<v Speaker 1>getting punted and kao injury made him come to his
<v Speaker 1>senses and he rekindles the relationships. Goal is to get
<v Speaker 1>rid of punk. Goal is to get rid of of Punk.
<v Speaker 1>And then it says w G I s killing Do
<v Speaker 1>you mean who's killing WWE? That's a weird typo. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know, man, And then you gotta wonder where Drew
<v Speaker 1>McIntyre fits into all this, because McIntyre is going to
<v Speaker 1>be back soon. Also, you put together Orton and Cody
<v Speaker 1>and Ko. I mean, who do you counter them with Punk?
<v Speaker 1>And who who's on the other side? Sammy Sammy just
<v Speaker 1>whin heal? Why would Sammy want to align with Punk?
<v Speaker 1>That group is almost too powerful. Would be interesting, but
<v Speaker 1>I think it's too strong of a faction unless you
<v Speaker 1>have some really good baby faces outside of Punk to
<v Speaker 1>really counter it. Dan Housen, Yeah, believable, just what we need. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>some good questions, some good shit. We have two rounds
<v Speaker 1>now coming to us, possibly three, We'll see how that goes.
<v Speaker 1>But we got two rounds to be the booker. Let's
<v Speaker 1>do it, ladies and gentlemen. We're two hours into this thing.
<v Speaker 1>Get the show on the road. Here. It is time
<v Speaker 1>to be the booker. It only gets better from here.
<v Speaker 1>Our first tag team match here of the night. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>maybe a round three soon. I know, with three out
<v Speaker 1>of five on that new goal, we might hit third round.
<v Speaker 1>We have a Nikolai Volkov and the iron Chic Shiky
<v Speaker 1>baby is in be the booker man. We go from
<v Speaker 1>Haku on TV tonight. And then we got we got
<v Speaker 1>Shiky Baby here and be the booker, former tag team Champions,
<v Speaker 1>and they're gonna be stepping into the ring with Hog
<v Speaker 1>and Pig the godwinds. What a terrible match. That sounds
<v Speaker 1>like the godwins against Nikolai Volcano and the Iron Chic.
<v Speaker 1>That sounds awful. Not the way I wanted to start this.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I know it's chic, but we're not talking
<v Speaker 1>about cutting promos. We're talking about in ring. We have
<v Speaker 1>Ivy Nile where she bit. We haven't seen her on
<v Speaker 1>TV either. I see her more in her YouTube vlogs
<v Speaker 1>with her boyfriend than I do with Monday Night Raw.
<v Speaker 1>Then again, I don't know where the fucking Creeds are either,
<v Speaker 1>so maybe she's wherever they are. She's with them. Ivy Nile.
<v Speaker 1>At least she gets a booking here on be the booker.
<v Speaker 1>She gets to step into the ring with the glamour.
<v Speaker 1>It is Mariah May, and I'm going to give that
<v Speaker 1>the belt, if for no other reason because I did
<v Speaker 1>what Triple Ah doesn't have the balls to do. I
<v Speaker 1>booked Mariah May in a match. She can wrestle. You know,
<v Speaker 1>she's actually pretty good at it. Alright, our main event now,
<v Speaker 1>first main event of the evening. Now one more to go,
<v Speaker 1>last scene with the Creeds in Triple A. Great. We
<v Speaker 1>have Ray Phoenix who was on SmackDown tonight defending the
<v Speaker 1>Triple A Cruiserweight Championship. Now he's in the main event.
<v Speaker 1>He's graduated. Look at this to the main event of
<v Speaker 1>be the booker. But who will his opponent be? Who
<v Speaker 1>I say, I say A say, who will be his own?
<v Speaker 1>It will be the nature boy, Rick Flair against Ray Phoenix.
<v Speaker 1>He's gonna be bumping all over the place for Ray Phoenix.
<v Speaker 1>Rick Flair and Ray Phoenix. There's a clash of styles.
<v Speaker 1>It's a very interesting clash of styles there. Yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>think that could be a fun one. All Right, we
<v Speaker 1>get round number two. We get to do this all
<v Speaker 1>over again, but this time we get to attach some stipulations.
<v Speaker 1>We got a bunch of them in here, as you
<v Speaker 1>can tell. And I have no idea where it's going
<v Speaker 1>to land. That's the beauty of it. I just push
<v Speaker 1>a button and we end up with an ambulance match.
<v Speaker 1>Somebody is going to have to be deposited into the
<v Speaker 1>back of an ambulance and when both doors are closed shut.
<v Speaker 1>The match is over. Now. It would be a little difficult,
<v Speaker 1>but not impossible to have a tag team ambulance match.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm going to skip right to the women on
<v Speaker 1>this one and let's find out who is in the
<v Speaker 1>ambulance match, starting with oh oh the fuck is that image?
<v Speaker 1>Will haunt me in my dreams. Here. This is spooky
<v Speaker 1>Nicky Cross with that freaky mask on from the Wyatt Six.
<v Speaker 1>Another one who can wrestle, and you would never know
<v Speaker 1>it because they did not have her wrestling for like
<v Speaker 1>two years. She would just show up and look like
<v Speaker 1>this and do a Lutha's press every now and then.
<v Speaker 1>And that was the extent to which she did any wrestling.
<v Speaker 1>Niki Cross in the ambulance match. Let's get a drum
<v Speaker 1>roll down in here. Come on now, man, we got
<v Speaker 1>our main event round. We need a drum roll. Creepy
<v Speaker 1>Pasta Cross against the glamour Mariah May, boy boy, I
<v Speaker 1>think Be the Booker is in love. I think Be
<v Speaker 1>the Booker is smitten, smitten back to back rounds of
<v Speaker 1>Mariah May. I don't blame Be the book Look, I'm
<v Speaker 1>smitten myself. I don't blame Be the Booker in the least.
<v Speaker 1>You can never have too much Mariah May. And since
<v Speaker 1>they refuse to give us enough of her on TV,
<v Speaker 1>I'll be more than happy to provide you with Mariah
<v Speaker 1>May here. It's fine with me. I'm okay with that.
<v Speaker 1>We have an exploding barbed wired deathmatch. Well, this is
<v Speaker 1>going to be most interesting exploding barbed wire deathmatch. There
<v Speaker 1>are certain people who would really fit in a match
<v Speaker 1>like that, and there are a lot of people in
<v Speaker 1>this that absolutely would not fit there. Drew McIntyre interesting.
<v Speaker 1>I think Drew McIntyre would do well in an exploding
<v Speaker 1>Barbeyer death match. He took a lot of abuse. He
<v Speaker 1>was bleeding like a pig in that hell in a
<v Speaker 1>CEL match with Punk. I don't think he would shy
<v Speaker 1>away from an exploding Barbier death match. I think he
<v Speaker 1>would excel. I don't think TKO is going to be
<v Speaker 1>very happy about that, considering what they pay him. Oh mind,
<v Speaker 1>look at that Drew McIntyre against Claudio casting Noli in
<v Speaker 1>exploding Barbyer death match. Man, I don't know who to
<v Speaker 1>pick who wins that? Who wins that? I'm gonna go Drew.
<v Speaker 1>But that's a good one, man. I just I wish
<v Speaker 1>the stipulation wasn't even attached to it though. And now
<v Speaker 1>our main event of the evening, ladies and gentlemen, are
<v Speaker 1>we looking at a sweep? Are we looking at a sweep?
<v Speaker 1>Another exploding barbed wire death match? Oh my god, Vince
<v Speaker 1>Russo has struck again. This is what you call classic overbooking.
<v Speaker 1>Classic overbooking. You don't book back to back exploding barbed
<v Speaker 1>wire death matches. You don't do that. Be the booker
<v Speaker 1>has a thirst for be. The booker has a thirst,
<v Speaker 1>we've learned tonight, for blood and for Mariah Bay. Those
<v Speaker 1>are the two things. Those are the two things that be.
<v Speaker 1>The booker has a thirst for My goodness, all right,
<v Speaker 1>we go from Drew McIntyre in Claudio in an exploding
<v Speaker 1>barbed wire deathmatch. Two, Oh my god, the former NWA
<v Speaker 1>World Heavyweight Champion Tyris Tyris is going to be in
<v Speaker 1>an exploding barbeyer deathmatch. Who would pay to see this?
<v Speaker 1>Who would pay to see this? Tyris against Joe Hendry
<v Speaker 1>in an exploding barbed wire deathmatch. Not if you paid me,
<v Speaker 1>I still would have no desire to see that match.
<v Speaker 1>So that's the bad news. However, I do have some
<v Speaker 1>good news, and the good news is that we just
<v Speaker 1>hit the bonus goal again, which means we get to
<v Speaker 1>take her for a spend one more time. We're getting
<v Speaker 1>a third round to be the booker. Give yourselves a
<v Speaker 1>round of applause. You have earned a third round. Doesn't
<v Speaker 1>happen very often, but it happened tonight. We didn't even
<v Speaker 1>get to Summer Slim. Yeah, we got two nights of
<v Speaker 1>Summer Slim. I'm gonna be live tomorrow night. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 1>be live Sunday night. We could do even more, be
<v Speaker 1>the booker. It's a double bonus. It is a double
<v Speaker 1>bonus round. And because it is a double bonus round,
<v Speaker 1>going to a different dimension here, we've gone to a
<v Speaker 1>level that we've never been to before. All Right, we're
<v Speaker 1>gonna have a last man standing match. Oh man, I'm
<v Speaker 1>just I'm just happy that it's not another exploding Barbier
<v Speaker 1>death match. Personally, I'm very happy about that it's a
<v Speaker 1>last man standing match. Okay, let's see, hope you're keeping
<v Speaker 1>track of these cards, so you gotta have to compare
<v Speaker 1>them when we're done here and see which round is
<v Speaker 1>the best. Mister perfect Kurt Hennig, I like where this
<v Speaker 1>is headed. That's right, it's the be the Booker Special stage.
<v Speaker 1>So he knows, he knows ball, he knows mister perfect
<v Speaker 1>jbl in a last man standing match, you know what,
<v Speaker 1>I'll give that the bell. I'll give that the bell.
<v Speaker 1>I think that has the potential to be good. Two
<v Speaker 1>heels though a little weird. Not a big fan of that,
<v Speaker 1>not a big fan of the two heel thing. But
<v Speaker 1>our next match is going to be first blood and
<v Speaker 1>it's going to go to the ladies this time. A
<v Speaker 1>first blood women's match should be very interesting here with
<v Speaker 1>Mako Satamora, the retired Mako Satamora. I don't think I've
<v Speaker 1>ever seen her bleed, but you would think over a
<v Speaker 1>thirty year career, I'm sure she's been busted open a
<v Speaker 1>few times. Oh, Maco, Maco, Maco, Mako Makosatamora against Jade
<v Speaker 1>Cargill Macosatamora is going to make Jade Cargill bleed, bleed
<v Speaker 1>her own blood. As Billy Graham once said, boy Maco
<v Speaker 1>better have her working shoes on for that match. That's
<v Speaker 1>all I'm gonna say. And our true final final main
<v Speaker 1>events here of the evening is going to be a
<v Speaker 1>Lions then mat are you all ready to enter the Lions?
<v Speaker 1>Then we're walking in. We got a Lions then match,
<v Speaker 1>two people enter, one person leaves. We have got the
<v Speaker 1>American badass, the Undertaker, this limp biscuit Taker inside the Lions.
<v Speaker 1>Then I wouldn't want to be trapped in the Lions.
<v Speaker 1>Then with the Undertake, it's a little rough. The Undertaker
<v Speaker 1>against Razor Ramone in a lions Den match. Yes, guess
<v Speaker 1>we finally got a sweep. It only took three chances,
<v Speaker 1>but we finally we finally got the sweep. Yeah, Undertaker
<v Speaker 1>Razor Ramone. They did wrestle each other, but not too
<v Speaker 1>many times and never any any sort of like TV program.
<v Speaker 1>I would have liked to have seen that. It's kind
<v Speaker 1>of weird because I was literally just watching earlier with
<v Speaker 1>lunch today I was watching. They had a three hour
<v Speaker 1>Razor Ramone compilation on the WWE Vault channel that they
<v Speaker 1>uploaded within the line couple of weeks. I'm in the
<v Speaker 1>middle of it. Great match on there by the way
<v Speaker 1>from the August first, I want to say nineteen ninety
<v Speaker 1>four episode of Raw. It was in the lead up
<v Speaker 1>to SummerSlam that year. Was the first match that Seawn
<v Speaker 1>Michaels had since the latter match of WrestleMania ten. He
<v Speaker 1>had been out of the ring since then. His first
<v Speaker 1>first match back, no ladders, no bullshit, straight singles match
<v Speaker 1>against Razor. Great fucking match, Great TV match. Those guys
<v Speaker 1>had great chemistry. It's almost like they were friends. E J.
<v Speaker 1>Slam says, which would you choose if you were if
<v Speaker 1>you were me? Men at Work or a White Sox
<v Speaker 1>Guardians game in the middle of the Pennant race with
<v Speaker 1>a postgame JA rule concert Men at Work? That was
<v Speaker 1>an easy one. Super Pony, I need Ko to package
<v Speaker 1>pile drive Dan Hausen. I heartily endorse this, EJ says,
<v Speaker 1>in honor of the iron chic, fuck the Hulk Hogan.
<v Speaker 1>That's right, that Jabron break his back and make him humble.
<v Speaker 1>Super Pony says. SAP just reported that Kevin Owens is
<v Speaker 1>in Minneapolis. Interesting. I wouldn't say that necessarily means anything,
<v Speaker 1>because I feel like he's been around some of the events,
<v Speaker 1>and I know he was also doing the LFG stuff,
<v Speaker 1>But in light of the Meltzer report today, it is interesting.
<v Speaker 1>I hope so man, we need him back in the
<v Speaker 1>worst way. Gary Sean with a couple of nine to
<v Speaker 1>ninety nine super chats. Gary is just Gary is probably
<v Speaker 1>the reason we hit that bus around here would be
<v Speaker 1>the booker. So Gary, thank you, brother Gary put us
<v Speaker 1>over the top there. Without that, we wouldn't have gotten
<v Speaker 1>the clean sweep that we got. Dry Chicken, says Nikki
<v Speaker 1>Cross against Mariah May, Chucky and Ash Williams on commentary
<v Speaker 1>during Halloween, Sith Banks eighty seven with a five. Just
<v Speaker 1>join the show, So sorry if you already answered, But
<v Speaker 1>did you figure out the YouTube TV ESPN Unlimited? I've
<v Speaker 1>been trying to get it synced. I finally did today.
<v Speaker 1>I finally got the frickin thing to work, So I'm
<v Speaker 1>gonna try this weekend. We're going to give it a
<v Speaker 1>shot and see if I can actually access SummerSlam. Took
<v Speaker 1>long enough for YouTube TV to finally have the integration,
<v Speaker 1>but I just I couldn't get it to work. And
<v Speaker 1>I wasn't the only one. Like the option I was
<v Speaker 1>supposed to check off just wasn't there, so unless they
<v Speaker 1>were just like slow rolling it out. But I finally
<v Speaker 1>got it to work today, so we shall find out tomorrow.
<v Speaker 1>Navy forty one eighty one says, the first pay per
<v Speaker 1>view I saw was Summer Slim eighty nine. That was
<v Speaker 1>a great one, dude, those are the metal Lands. A
<v Speaker 1>week later, Rick Rude beat the piss out of Roddy
<v Speaker 1>Piper on The Brother Love Show with a podium and
<v Speaker 1>the Rude Awakening. Summer Slim eighty nine is a favorite
<v Speaker 1>of mine. Great main event was Hogan and Beefcake against
<v Speaker 1>Macho or Macho King and Zeus. But really fun main event.
<v Speaker 1>He nineteen seventy two Bones, You're very welcome, but also
<v Speaker 1>the Warrior Rick Rude match on that show better than
<v Speaker 1>their WrestleMania match. Actually the best match I ever saw
<v Speaker 1>them have. They wrestled at Summer Slim in a cage
<v Speaker 1>match the following year, but that eighty nine match is
<v Speaker 1>the best one they had. Dry Chickens says, mister perfect
<v Speaker 1>against JBL what kind of stipulation is that? And buy
<v Speaker 1>everybody at pizza. I can't have it. That's terrible. Gabe California,
<v Speaker 1>what do you think makes a great wrestling match? Well,
<v Speaker 1>great wrestling to start, but also you need two people,
<v Speaker 1>whether it's two men two women, to tag teams that
<v Speaker 1>the fans can invest in. If you have the fans
<v Speaker 1>investing in what they're seeing, and it's not just some
<v Speaker 1>random match, but a match, let's say that's been built
<v Speaker 1>up for a while. Great heat, right, You want to
<v Speaker 1>have a great crowd. Great the crowd is so important
<v Speaker 1>in matches like that. A great crowd can take a
<v Speaker 1>decent match to a really good match, or a good
<v Speaker 1>match to a great match, or a great match to
<v Speaker 1>a legendary match like Rock and Hogan they wrestle maybe eighteen.
<v Speaker 1>It's not the same without that crowd. So what makes
<v Speaker 1>a great wrestling match is going to be objective. I've
<v Speaker 1>seen great wrestling matches that have different elements that they
<v Speaker 1>don't always have the ingredients to make like a perfect match.
<v Speaker 1>But you want to have, you know, good wrestling. You
<v Speaker 1>want to have good characters. Then you want to have
<v Speaker 1>good heat from the crowd. You put all that together
<v Speaker 1>and that's really all you can ask for. You just
<v Speaker 1>want to get the people to believe. You want to
<v Speaker 1>get them to invest. They don't care about what they're seeing,
<v Speaker 1>or they're indifferent, or they're quiet, or they're sitting on
<v Speaker 1>their hands, they're on their phones. It's a bad wrestling match.
<v Speaker 1>You could do all the moves and the flips and
<v Speaker 1>all kinds of crazy shit. If nobody cares, or if
<v Speaker 1>nobody's reacting to it and it doesn't really mean anything,
<v Speaker 1>how can you call that a great match? Charlotte versus Jade.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe the interim title on the line next Friday. I
<v Speaker 1>told you, look, if it's not going to be Lash,
<v Speaker 1>I'm going with Ja. I don't see Charlotte winning on Sunday.
<v Speaker 1>But somebody said that was that announced already that Charlotte
<v Speaker 1>and Jade are having a singles match on SmackDown next Friday.
<v Speaker 1>I think I saw somebody mention that what night is
<v Speaker 1>Chad and Penta? I believe that's going to be on
<v Speaker 1>Night Too. No, it is on Night Too, because it's
<v Speaker 1>one of the only matches on Night Too. I'm really
<v Speaker 1>looking forward to, and it will be in the first hour.
<v Speaker 1>I guess the first hours of these shows are not
<v Speaker 1>airing on ESPN like they've been doing, but I believe
<v Speaker 1>Penta and Gabler are playing for the first hour of
<v Speaker 1>Night two. Hey, Chris, what's going on? Chris? You came
<v Speaker 1>in right at the end. Brother, We're getting out of
<v Speaker 1>here all right. Well, thank you guys for being with me.
<v Speaker 1>We went two and a half hours today. Look at
<v Speaker 1>that you're crazy sobs in here man, good crowd, good stream,
<v Speaker 1>not a great SmackDown. I am hopeful. I am hopeful
<v Speaker 1>that we will have a great Summer Slam this weekend.
<v Speaker 1>It begins with Night one Tomorrow Night There it is
<v Speaker 1>Cody and punk Oba and Brock, the blowoff, the payoff,
<v Speaker 1>Hell in a Cell and Nick All this first time
<v Speaker 1>ever in a WWE ring. The big question will Cody
<v Speaker 1>go heal? Will Randy Orton make an appearance? Well, Kevin
<v Speaker 1>Owens make a return? Apparently he's in Minneapolis. This is
<v Speaker 1>the night I'm looking forward to the most. I will
<v Speaker 1>be live on YouTube when it is over. Be aware
<v Speaker 1>that it's a six pm Eastern start time. So I
<v Speaker 1>don't know that I see this show going four hours,
<v Speaker 1>but it could. I suppose it's possible. I would think
<v Speaker 1>I'll probably be live by ten. I would imagine between
<v Speaker 1>nine thirty and ten. But whenever it's over, you give
<v Speaker 1>me a few minutes and then I'll be live on
<v Speaker 1>YouTube for the full review. Sound Off Episode nine seventy
<v Speaker 1>four is going to be dropping on Sunday, and then
<v Speaker 1>Sunday night we do it over again for night too.
<v Speaker 1>You get three podcasts from me this weekend. That's a lot.
<v Speaker 1>You're gonna get a lot of me this weekend. You're
<v Speaker 1>gonna be so sick of me. I'm gonna be like
<v Speaker 1>Dan Housen by the time this weekend is over. You're
<v Speaker 1>not gonna want to see my face. But at least
<v Speaker 1>you know I'll always deliver for you, so I'll be well,
<v Speaker 1>Stay safe and yourself. Is a great rest of your
<v Speaker 1>night and a good weekend, and I will see you
<v Speaker 1>for Night one of Summer Slam tomorrow night. Until then,
<v Speaker 1>take care, guys.
