<v Speaker 1>Well, we got one night down, one night to go.
<v Speaker 1>Night one is in the books, and my takeaway again
<v Speaker 1>as I just said, is that Summer Slam definitely does
<v Speaker 1>not need to be two nights. I would like to
<v Speaker 1>hope that we can all agree on this because it
<v Speaker 1>is very clear the only reason that SummerSlam is two
<v Speaker 1>nights at this point is so that they can fit
<v Speaker 1>in all the ads. There's no other reason. There really
<v Speaker 1>is no other reason there. It really hit me when
<v Speaker 1>it was over, like, you know what, you could have
<v Speaker 1>had one big mus saying it has to go five
<v Speaker 1>hours either, one big night of Summer Slam, that's all
<v Speaker 1>you need. But they want to sell as many tickets
<v Speaker 1>in one weekend as they possibly can, and so this
<v Speaker 1>is what we are left with. And Night one actually
<v Speaker 1>was the stronger of the two nights on paper coming
<v Speaker 1>into this weekend. I'm not sure what that says about
<v Speaker 1>how SummerSlam is going to end up, but we shall see. Championship.
<v Speaker 1>You would think coming into this show that that was
<v Speaker 1>going to be the main event of the show that
<v Speaker 1>was going to headline. I was very surprised when I
<v Speaker 1>read earlier that in fact, the Helen a Cell match
<v Speaker 1>was going to get top billing on this show. And
<v Speaker 1>it told me also that the likelihood of there being
<v Speaker 1>a Cody Rhodes heel turn was probably slim to none.
<v Speaker 1>If there was any real hope of anything like that happening.
<v Speaker 1>That's the sort of thing that if you're going to
<v Speaker 1>do it, you close the show with it. And so
<v Speaker 1>that kind of gave away to me, all right, maybe
<v Speaker 1>we shouldn't be expecting anything like that here tonight. And
<v Speaker 1>it became very clear in the main event why that
<v Speaker 1>WWE Championship match did not go on last. When I
<v Speaker 1>watched brock Lesner tearing up the ring Matt, he was
<v Speaker 1>ripping up the canvas, he was exposing the boards underneath.
<v Speaker 1>I said, oh, okay, now it makes sense why this
<v Speaker 1>match is going on last. So they headlined with Helen
<v Speaker 1>is Cell. This was a big endorsement for Obafemi. All right,
<v Speaker 1>let's let's get the good out of the way first.
<v Speaker 1>The fact that they put this match on the last,
<v Speaker 1>and you knew Oba was going over because this could
<v Speaker 1>end no other way. That was a big endorsement of Obafemi.
<v Speaker 1>We got an actual endorsement when it was over from Brocklesner,
<v Speaker 1>who hugged him, got on the mic who verbally put
<v Speaker 1>him over. He didn't even do that with Cody Rhodes
<v Speaker 1>three years ago after Cody beat him and then he
<v Speaker 1>raised Cody's arm. I don't remember bra getting on the
<v Speaker 1>mic and basically cutting a short promo and putting the
<v Speaker 1>guy over. So they did that for Oba. They left
<v Speaker 1>the ring to him. They closed the show Night one
<v Speaker 1>with him tonight. They've made it very clear up until
<v Speaker 1>this point that Oba they see him as the future.
<v Speaker 1>He got a win over Brocket WrestleMania, they made him
<v Speaker 1>king of the ring, and tonight he got to be
<v Speaker 1>the man to end the undefeated streak of Brocklesner inside
<v Speaker 1>Hell and hisself. So they're all in on Obafemi. But
<v Speaker 1>as I reflect back on what we got in the
<v Speaker 1>main event tonight, I was left very disappointed. Even though
<v Speaker 1>we got the right ending, we got the right outcome.
<v Speaker 1>All of that was exactly what it needed to be.
<v Speaker 1>They went out there, though, and had effectively the same
<v Speaker 1>match they had at WrestleMania and Clash in Italy. This
<v Speaker 1>one was a little bit longer than the last one.
<v Speaker 1>This one had a little bit of plunder. It had
<v Speaker 1>a giant cell surrounding the ring. But really, was this
<v Speaker 1>match all that different than the other matches these two
<v Speaker 1>men have had. It really wasn't. This was the blowoff,
<v Speaker 1>This was the payoff. This was the final time that
<v Speaker 1>we're likely ever going to see these two men in
<v Speaker 1>the ring together. They've been playing this feud out now
<v Speaker 1>since March and then when they announced the hell in
<v Speaker 1>a Cell stipulation, especially given that the last time we
<v Speaker 1>had a hell and a Cell match was that five
<v Speaker 1>star affair that CM punk and Drew McIntyre had. That
<v Speaker 1>was a violent, bloody match that really did live up
<v Speaker 1>to the stipulation that was two years ago. Excellent Helen
<v Speaker 1>is best Helen a Cell match that we've had in many,
<v Speaker 1>many years. When they announced Helena Cell, I wasn't really
<v Speaker 1>expecting it to live up to those expectations, But I said, men,
<v Speaker 1>I really hope that they at least give them more
<v Speaker 1>time and that they can give us something special and
<v Speaker 1>they can give us something memorable here, because if they're
<v Speaker 1>going with that stipulation, they must have something up their sleep,
<v Speaker 1>you know, they must have something planned here for it.
<v Speaker 1>The hell and of Cell was not needed. As we
<v Speaker 1>look back on what they did here tonight. This was
<v Speaker 1>a complete waste of the Helen of Celle stipulation. Cell
<v Speaker 1>never even came into play at any point during the match.
<v Speaker 1>It's very clear. The only reason that they actually even
<v Speaker 1>advertised the Helen of Cell match when this easily could
<v Speaker 1>have been by the way, like Last Man Standing, you
<v Speaker 1>could have done something out and we saw Brock many
<v Speaker 1>years ago here on this show have a quality last
<v Speaker 1>man Standing match with Roman Reigns. I would even argue
<v Speaker 1>it may have been the best match those two have
<v Speaker 1>ever had, and they've wrestled like fifty thous times. They
<v Speaker 1>got creative in that match. They did some pretty unique
<v Speaker 1>stuff in that match, and that's why that match is memorable.
<v Speaker 1>You could have done something like that. The cell was
<v Speaker 1>not needed. The only reason they did it is because
<v Speaker 1>they wanted Oba to be able to say I am
<v Speaker 1>the man who ended Brock Lesnar's undefeated streak inside Helen
<v Speaker 1>his cell. And when I say undefeated streak, I should
<v Speaker 1>put air quotes around it. Because the man had two
<v Speaker 1>matches in his entire fucking twenty five plus year career
<v Speaker 1>inside Helen is cell. I don't need I mean, does
<v Speaker 1>two matches really constitute a streak. I'm not really sure.
<v Speaker 1>It doesn't seem to me that it does. But that's
<v Speaker 1>why they did it. Why did they make oba Femi
<v Speaker 1>King of the Ring if they weren't going to live
<v Speaker 1>up to the stipulation that the winner of the King
<v Speaker 1>of the Ring gets to choose the champion that they
<v Speaker 1>want to challenge at summerslim because they didn't give a
<v Speaker 1>shit about that. They wanted him to have the title
<v Speaker 1>of King of the Ring. They want to be able
<v Speaker 1>to call him the King of the Ring. That's the
<v Speaker 1>only reason we got a Hell and a Cell match
<v Speaker 1>on this show. So it sucks because I had high
<v Speaker 1>hopes for what they could potentially do inside or outside
<v Speaker 1>the cell. Two big guys like that, You know, it
<v Speaker 1>wouldn't be difficult to imagine they would do a spot
<v Speaker 1>where they would kind of go barreling through the cage wall.
<v Speaker 1>They would end up outside and do some stuff outside.
<v Speaker 1>But you know, they kind of exhausted the announced desk
<v Speaker 1>spots in the previous match, and you got two guys here.
<v Speaker 1>They're not climbing into the tay. You see how tall
<v Speaker 1>that cell is, They're not climbing to the top of that.
<v Speaker 1>So this is what we were left with, and that
<v Speaker 1>was just very underwhelming. But you know what, even more
<v Speaker 1>than that, my biggest gripe with what they did here
<v Speaker 1>in that main event. Right when it felt like the
<v Speaker 1>match was about to kick into that next gear, he
<v Speaker 1>was about to elevate into that next gear, it was over,
<v Speaker 1>Brock exposes the boards underneath the ring, and now the
<v Speaker 1>fans are coming to their feet like, oh shit, what
<v Speaker 1>do they have planned here? What are they going to do?
<v Speaker 1>And people are getting excited, and sixty seconds later the
<v Speaker 1>match is over. Right when it was starting to get good,
<v Speaker 1>it ended, and it was just it was very it
<v Speaker 1>was very flat because I was expecting more and then
<v Speaker 1>it was over. So to me, that was my biggest
<v Speaker 1>disappointment here with what they did in this match, not
<v Speaker 1>even twelve minutes that main event, when they could not
<v Speaker 1>even squeeze fifteen minutes out of that main event. Now,
<v Speaker 1>the WWE Championship match went just shive half an hour,
<v Speaker 1>so that got plenty of time, but this one, unfortunately
<v Speaker 1>couldn't even get fifteen minutes. And I'm not even saying
<v Speaker 1>that this should have gone twenty minutes or anything like that,
<v Speaker 1>because look, you got two guys like this, Brock is
<v Speaker 1>very limited in what he's going to do. You know
<v Speaker 1>that Brock is not going to go in there and
<v Speaker 1>do anything too crazy, Right, He'll take bumps, but he's
<v Speaker 1>not going to take like big bumps, and he's not
<v Speaker 1>going to wrestle the way that he used to wrestle
<v Speaker 1>twenty years ago. It's going to be a lot of suplexes.
<v Speaker 1>It's going to be a lot of the same shit
<v Speaker 1>that you always see. Brock. Do Oba also is limited
<v Speaker 1>in what he can do because he's a big guy.
<v Speaker 1>You know what's he gonna do. He's gonna be in
<v Speaker 1>there doing technical matt wrestling. He's not, so it doesn't
<v Speaker 1>have to go absurdly long. But unfortunately, you know, when
<v Speaker 1>it was over, it was just like, man, there was
<v Speaker 1>more meat on the bone, especially if this is their
<v Speaker 1>last time working together. And I just wish we would
<v Speaker 1>have gotten more out of it because for a main event,
<v Speaker 1>it was over and I just felt very underwhelmed. It
<v Speaker 1>was just very disappointing to me. The outcome, though, was
<v Speaker 1>the correct outcome as far as that goes. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>they did exactly what they needed to do. Anything other
<v Speaker 1>than that would have been completely ridiculous. I don't give
<v Speaker 1>a shit where this show was. Oh it's Minnesota, who
<v Speaker 1>gives a fuck. The only outcome here that made sense
<v Speaker 1>to close out the feud was Oba Femi beating Brock Lesnar, because,
<v Speaker 1>as Brock himself said when the show was over, I'm
<v Speaker 1>the past, you're the future. He's not just the future,
<v Speaker 1>he's the hero and now. Right. He's getting pushed now
<v Speaker 1>in a big way. And if he isn't world champion
<v Speaker 1>by wrestlemanian year or at WrestleMania next year, he'll be
<v Speaker 1>champion before that. So he's the hero and now and
<v Speaker 1>Brock is the past. So he was right, you know
<v Speaker 1>when he said that, And you want to get over
<v Speaker 1>the future. Brock has nothing left to gain by, you know,
<v Speaker 1>winning a big match like this. It would serve no purpose.
<v Speaker 1>So they did what they had to do. As far
<v Speaker 1>as that goes. I don't know if this is it
<v Speaker 1>for Brock. There's been a lot of rumor and speculation
<v Speaker 1>that this could be his retirement. I don't think anybody
<v Speaker 1>is buying into any of that bullshit. After the stunt
<v Speaker 1>he pulled at WrestleMania this year, taking off the gloves,
<v Speaker 1>taking off the boots crying in the middle of the ring.
<v Speaker 1>And so even if you had come out tonight and
<v Speaker 1>said that I'm done, right, I'm officially done, would anybody
<v Speaker 1>even believe him? Probably not. Do I believe that Brockleisner
<v Speaker 1>is done? No? I don't. I don't. They'll be an
<v Speaker 1>offer for him to come back and do another WrestleMania
<v Speaker 1>or do some other big match, and he'll come back
<v Speaker 1>or make a cameo or whatever it may be. But
<v Speaker 1>if it was going to be the end, and for him,
<v Speaker 1>he went out exactly the way that you would hope
<v Speaker 1>he would. He went out putting over the future and
<v Speaker 1>doing the honors on the way out, and at the
<v Speaker 1>end of the day, that's really all you can ask for.
<v Speaker 1>We did have the WWE Championship on the line. It
<v Speaker 1>was Cody Rhodes challenging Cmpunk first time ever, first time
<v Speaker 1>ever since both these men returned to WWE. The one
<v Speaker 1>time they wrestled each other again, it was like eighteen
<v Speaker 1>years ago something like that. I mean, it may as well.
<v Speaker 1>It may as well have been their first time in
<v Speaker 1>the ring together. I mean, the two men you saw
<v Speaker 1>in the ring tonight not the same people that were
<v Speaker 1>in the Ring on Monday Night Raw. Okay back in
<v Speaker 1>two thousand and eight, so for all intents and purposes,
<v Speaker 1>first time ever match here. I was at one time
<v Speaker 1>very bullish on this being one of the WrestleMania Maine
<v Speaker 1>events this year, and I think it could have been,
<v Speaker 1>you know, had creative gone in a different direction, that
<v Speaker 1>could have been a wrestle Media made event this year.
<v Speaker 1>We got it on pretty short notice here for SummerSlam,
<v Speaker 1>and I think all you really needed to do to
<v Speaker 1>sell this match was to have one or two really
<v Speaker 1>good promos, right, because these are two good promo guy. Punk,
<v Speaker 1>Punk's a great promo guy. We never really got that.
<v Speaker 1>We had this kind of manufactured thing where Punk accidentally
<v Speaker 1>hit him in the face with the belt strap at
<v Speaker 1>Saturday Night's main event, and then this house showed the
<v Speaker 1>other day where Cody didn't know who it was and
<v Speaker 1>he gave this really phony looking back elbow, like, come on,
<v Speaker 1>you knew exactly who it was. That it all just
<v Speaker 1>felt very forced and very manufactured, and even the end
<v Speaker 1>ring promo worked between the two of them, it just
<v Speaker 1>it just fell very flat to me. So coming into
<v Speaker 1>the show, this match just didn't feel like as big
<v Speaker 1>of a deal as it should have, which is too
<v Speaker 1>bad because I still feel like, even now, I still
<v Speaker 1>feel like this could be a really big match at
<v Speaker 1>some point, but by that point, maybe better off if
<v Speaker 1>one of them is a heel and not both of
<v Speaker 1>them being babyfaces, because that also kind of hurts it
<v Speaker 1>a little bit. But we had the title match tonight,
<v Speaker 1>and we did get a big return at the end
<v Speaker 1>of that title match factor actually into the finish of
<v Speaker 1>the match, and that is Randy Orton. We have not
<v Speaker 1>seen Randy Orton since he punk kicked Cody Rhoads in
<v Speaker 1>the skull at the end of WrestleMania Night one and
<v Speaker 1>then he vanished. He went away, and there was a
<v Speaker 1>lot of speculation about him being injured. They've Meltzer reported
<v Speaker 1>that there was a back injury. Randy Orton chimed in.
<v Speaker 1>People took that to mean it was a denial. It
<v Speaker 1>was never a denial. I'm sure the man was hurt.
<v Speaker 1>Whether it was his back or not, who knows, but
<v Speaker 1>he was hurt. That's why he disappeared, and I hope
<v Speaker 1>he's healthy now. I hope he's healthy enough to stick
<v Speaker 1>around and not disappear again because him kicking Cody in
<v Speaker 1>the head and then vanishing really seemed to fuck up
<v Speaker 1>their creative plans whatever they were, as if TKO didn't
<v Speaker 1>fuck it up enough for WrestleMania. So now Randy Orton
<v Speaker 1>is back and he costs Cody Rhoads the Unbeknownst to
<v Speaker 1>CM Punk, who didn't see any of this, Cody gets
<v Speaker 1>dropped with an RKO and it leads directly into the finish.
<v Speaker 1>CM Punk is still the WWE champion, which I completely expected,
<v Speaker 1>and now we're looking at a Cody Roads Randy Orton feud,
<v Speaker 1>non title I have. I mean, there's so much I
<v Speaker 1>could say about this, going back to WrestleMania. You talk
<v Speaker 1>about feuds that I had been looking forward to because
<v Speaker 1>there was a lot of history there and it was
<v Speaker 1>just untapped. They had stayed away from it for so long,
<v Speaker 1>and that this was gonna be the year finally we're
<v Speaker 1>going to visit the whole Cody and Randy thing. And
<v Speaker 1>they had little like teases of it over the years
<v Speaker 1>and little backstage segments on the television show, but we're
<v Speaker 1>finally going to get it this year, and they fucked
<v Speaker 1>it up. And it takes a lot to fuck up
<v Speaker 1>a Cody Roads Randy Orton story, but they managed to
<v Speaker 1>do so, and yes, there was a very good reason
<v Speaker 1>why we can't put that all on Triple Ah and
<v Speaker 1>the creative team, but nonetheless, they fucked it up and
<v Speaker 1>when it was over, I didn't have any interest in
<v Speaker 1>seeing it again. So now all these months have gone by,
<v Speaker 1>Pat McAfee is but a distant memory, and now they're
<v Speaker 1>going to try it again. We're going to go back
<v Speaker 1>to the well once more with Cody and Randy, and
<v Speaker 1>I'll give it a shot, but my interest level ain't
<v Speaker 1>nowhere near what it was at the beginning of the
<v Speaker 1>year to see that match. I really hope they could
<v Speaker 1>put something together to heat things back up and get
<v Speaker 1>me excited and get me invested in this again, because
<v Speaker 1>they did a lot of damage with what they did
<v Speaker 1>going into WrestleMania this year. But that's the direction we're
<v Speaker 1>going in as far as those two, I don't know
<v Speaker 1>how long it'll be before we see Cody and Punk
<v Speaker 1>back in the ring together. But this was only the
<v Speaker 1>first match, and it ended up being a good match,
<v Speaker 1>but they clearly were holding back in certain in certain
<v Speaker 1>regards and leaving a lot more for the future. Maybe
<v Speaker 1>the future isn't until WrestleMania, you know, in Saudi next year,
<v Speaker 1>because right now Cody is going to be occupied Randy Orton, which,
<v Speaker 1>by the way, that opens up c I'm punk to,
<v Speaker 1>I say, feud with. But he can have a lot
<v Speaker 1>of little mini feuds. I mean, he can defend that
<v Speaker 1>championship against any number of people on SmackDown. Look at
<v Speaker 1>all the people he name dropped a few weeks ago,
<v Speaker 1>right not just Sammy's aying. He names dropped Damian Priest.
<v Speaker 1>He names dropped Trick Williams, and he might have mentioned
<v Speaker 1>Royce Keys, I don't really remember. But there's a whole
<v Speaker 1>bunch of people where he could sort of branch off
<v Speaker 1>and he can have a little mini feud with this
<v Speaker 1>person and he can wrestle that person and defend the
<v Speaker 1>title against this guy. And don't forget there's another big
<v Speaker 1>name that is rumored to be on their way back
<v Speaker 1>very very soon. I don't know if it'll be tomorrow.
<v Speaker 1>He is in Minneapolis because he had some signings, and
<v Speaker 1>that is Kevin Owens, and I'm dying to see a
<v Speaker 1>feud between Sea I'm punk and Kevin Owens. I don't
<v Speaker 1>know that I would go right into it is owens
<v Speaker 1>first feud and then he loses his first feud. I
<v Speaker 1>don't think he needs to jump right into it, but
<v Speaker 1>I would hope when he comes back, he's on SmackDown
<v Speaker 1>and they can build a punkin Owens. That's a feud
<v Speaker 1>that's a first time ever met that I am very
<v Speaker 1>much interested in seeing. So for Punk, he's got plenty
<v Speaker 1>of people that you could put pair him off with
<v Speaker 1>and then circle back around to Cody at some point,
<v Speaker 1>maybe early next year. But this was only match number
<v Speaker 1>one between them. I thought it was good. Speaking of good,
<v Speaker 1>we had a Women's World Championship match on this show
<v Speaker 1>between Live Morgan and EO Sky that they actually opened
<v Speaker 1>with that I thought was very good. No title change
<v Speaker 1>is on the show tonight. WWE Championship did not change.
<v Speaker 1>Women's World Championship did not change. We also had the
<v Speaker 1>debut of Nick Aldis in ring. All this is. I said,
<v Speaker 1>it's weird saying the debut of Nick Alldis. All this
<v Speaker 1>has been on the roster is the GM for three
<v Speaker 1>years now, but it took this long for them to
<v Speaker 1>put him in the ring. We had not seen him
<v Speaker 1>wrestle in WWE until tonight. This was the man's dream.
<v Speaker 1>He wanted to come here years ago, and finally he
<v Speaker 1>came and they didn't have any interest in putting him
<v Speaker 1>in the ring. So three years go by, he's three
<v Speaker 1>years older. You don't know what you're going to expect.
<v Speaker 1>I'm sure this all came together on relatively short notice.
<v Speaker 1>And you know, he keeps himself in good shape, but still,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, it takes a while to get yourself in
<v Speaker 1>ring shape, and you don't know what the guy's going
<v Speaker 1>to look like. He showed up tonight, he was in
<v Speaker 1>great shape. It's not like he got gassed out or
<v Speaker 1>anything like that. He looked great in the ring with
<v Speaker 1>Gunther tonight. Gunther was just the perfect, you know shit
<v Speaker 1>heel opponent for him. They went out there. I was
<v Speaker 1>very happy for all this that he was able to
<v Speaker 1>get that moment. His wife and son were at ringside
<v Speaker 1>to watch the match. The crowd was super into it.
<v Speaker 1>They were fully behind him, They were fully invested in
<v Speaker 1>seeing Nick all this. They want him to beat Gunther.
<v Speaker 1>So it all worked out very well. And when the
<v Speaker 1>match was over, I was wondering, Okay, well where to now?
<v Speaker 1>Does he want to wrestle full time? I don't know
<v Speaker 1>if they want him wrestling full time. You know, he
<v Speaker 1>does a very good job in the GM role. Why
<v Speaker 1>would they want to replace him? And we got our
<v Speaker 1>answer when the show was over. For those who didn't
<v Speaker 1>see on the post show, there was a segment in
<v Speaker 1>the back where all This confronted Triple H and he
<v Speaker 1>handed him his letter of resignation because he said, look,
<v Speaker 1>I was the GM, but I had to fight Gunther
<v Speaker 1>and I was relieved of my duties and I understand
<v Speaker 1>what I did, and so here's my letter of resignation.
<v Speaker 1>And in the end, Triple H basically ripped it up
<v Speaker 1>and said, I'm reinstating you as the General Manager of SmackDown.
<v Speaker 1>So everything's back to normal. Nick All, this is back
<v Speaker 1>as the GM. It doesn't mean that we'll never see
<v Speaker 1>him back in the ring ever again, but if he
<v Speaker 1>wasn't coming back full time, it just is very awkward.
<v Speaker 1>How do you like? Storyline wise? How do you do that?
<v Speaker 1>Just to have the one match with Gunther, right, he
<v Speaker 1>had to temporarily resign his position as the GM. So
<v Speaker 1>what does that mean every time he wants to have
<v Speaker 1>a match with somebody, he's got to temporarily resign as
<v Speaker 1>the general manager. You kind of have to shit or
<v Speaker 1>get off the pot. You got to make a decision.
<v Speaker 1>Do you want him as a full time wrestler do
<v Speaker 1>you want him as a GM. I think there's more
<v Speaker 1>value to him as a GM. It's not like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>the roster, they so desperately need Nick all this on
<v Speaker 1>the show. They don't. He'll serve them better in the
<v Speaker 1>GM role. And then if a storyline comes up, or
<v Speaker 1>if you you know, cameo in the Royal Rumble or
<v Speaker 1>something like that, he can be back in the ring. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>maybe he'll get a WrestleMania match one day, but we
<v Speaker 1>have our answer. Now he's back to being the GM,
<v Speaker 1>and at least he got his one moment. Well. Then,
<v Speaker 1>it was also the tale of two trios matches on
<v Speaker 1>this show, one for the men, one for the women.
<v Speaker 1>I had fun with the men's match. I had whatever
<v Speaker 1>the opposite of fun is is what I had with
<v Speaker 1>the women's match, and it was colored by a potential
<v Speaker 1>injury to Brebella. It's very clear that she was hurt.
<v Speaker 1>I think the only question is how badly is she hurt.
<v Speaker 1>There's no way she wasn't hurt, and so that didn't
<v Speaker 1>help matters. This was a good show. It was a
<v Speaker 1>good show. I can't I can't say it was anything
<v Speaker 1>more than that, because I can't sit here and tell
<v Speaker 1>you it was a band show. I enjoyed more than
<v Speaker 1>I disliked. The opening match I thought was very good.
<v Speaker 1>The men's six man I thought was very good, The
<v Speaker 1>oldest match I enjoyed that. The punkin Cody match started
<v Speaker 1>very very slow. Crowd was very quiet, but it built
<v Speaker 1>because they knew they were going thirty minutes and it
<v Speaker 1>built nicely to the end. We got the big Randy
<v Speaker 1>Orton return and even in the main event in Helen
<v Speaker 1>a cell While I was disappointed in the match that
<v Speaker 1>we ended up getting and this absolutely did not need
<v Speaker 1>to sell, I cannot impress upon you how much this
<v Speaker 1>did not need to be inside Hell and a cella.
<v Speaker 1>What a waste of the stipulation it was. But still
<v Speaker 1>it was Oba Femi doing what he needed to do,
<v Speaker 1>which is beat Brocklesner in the main event, with Brock
<v Speaker 1>putting him over at the end, and I can't shit
<v Speaker 1>on that that's exactly what they should have done. But
<v Speaker 1>when the show was over, this is SummerSlam, and it
<v Speaker 1>didn't feel like a big Summer Slam. To me, it
<v Speaker 1>felt very safe. It felt very underwhelming in many ways.
<v Speaker 1>If I had a grade this on a scale of
<v Speaker 1>one to ten, I'd probably go six. I think that's fair,
<v Speaker 1>maybe six and a half. I would not go higher
<v Speaker 1>than that. And again, think about it. This was on paper.
<v Speaker 1>I think most people would agree on paper, this was
<v Speaker 1>the stronger of the two nights, and this was a
<v Speaker 1>six out of ten. What does that mean for Night two?
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, but we'll talk about night too tomorrow.
<v Speaker 1>Right now, I'm here to talk about Night one. This
<v Speaker 1>is your Summer Slam Night one review for twenty twenty six.
<v Speaker 1>If you don't know who I am, of course you do.
<v Speaker 1>I am the Solemn Monster. Thank you for being with
<v Speaker 1>me here on a Saturday night. Do me a favor
<v Speaker 1>and hit the subscribe button if you're new here. That
<v Speaker 1>way you'll get notified whenever I go live, including tomorrow night.
<v Speaker 1>Hit the like button as well. Super chats, Yes, we
<v Speaker 1>got a bunch of them to go through. I want
<v Speaker 1>yours so I can read them. They are open. You
<v Speaker 1>will see them periodically popping up on your screen. Look
<v Speaker 1>at that. That's a long message right there. Brody had
<v Speaker 1>a lot to say in that super chat, but I'm
<v Speaker 1>going to be reading all of them, so get them
<v Speaker 1>on in and I have to bust out the wheel.
<v Speaker 1>What is the wheel for? Well, we have a little
<v Speaker 1>segment we do at the end of these streams sometimes
<v Speaker 1>ah called be the Booker. Be the Booker is what
<v Speaker 1>it's called. Fuck that tree debts, I thank you for
<v Speaker 1>the learning tree, and the wheel will determine how many
<v Speaker 1>likes we need in order to hit the be the
<v Speaker 1>Booker goal. It's actually very simple. So I spin and
<v Speaker 1>then I leave the rest up to you. Guys. All
<v Speaker 1>you got to do is hit that thumbs up. It's
<v Speaker 1>the easiest thing in the world. And all we need
<v Speaker 1>is four hundred and sixty five likes. And I mean
<v Speaker 1>this is the Summer Slam stream and we're already at
<v Speaker 1>four hundred and seventy likes. So so I have to
<v Speaker 1>spin again that See that. If you kn't be doing
<v Speaker 1>that when you've already attained the goal, we have to
<v Speaker 1>try again. That's that's cheating. That's that's not right. All right,
<v Speaker 1>six hundred. You know we're still going to hit it.
<v Speaker 1>You know we're still going to hit it. But I
<v Speaker 1>had to spin again, six hundred likes. That is the goal.
<v Speaker 1>You guys, get to work. We got a couple of
<v Speaker 1>new super chat amounts fourteen to fifteen dollars ones. I
<v Speaker 1>believe it's all in the description down below, so go
<v Speaker 1>check that out. But let's get to this. So they
<v Speaker 1>were in US Bank Stadium, and there was a lot
<v Speaker 1>made of the attendance coming into this show, and the
<v Speaker 1>attendants compared to what they did at MetLife Stadium last year,
<v Speaker 1>far far below what they did last I mean to
<v Speaker 1>the tune of like fifteen to twenty thousand tickets less.
<v Speaker 1>I don't believe, now, correct me if I'm wrong. I
<v Speaker 1>don't believe they mentioned the attendant once tonight. They certainly
<v Speaker 1>weren't gloating about it. Gee. I wonder why Usually they're
<v Speaker 1>all about they put the graphic up, or they have
<v Speaker 1>somebody make the announcement. They have a legend out there
<v Speaker 1>making the announcement. I didn't hear a single word said
<v Speaker 1>about Actually, the only thing that I did here, Michael
<v Speaker 1>Cole multiple times said a capacity crowd is what we
<v Speaker 1>have here in Minneapolis today. Apparently capacity doesn't mean what
<v Speaker 1>he used to me. So we did have Michael Cole
<v Speaker 1>lying to us multiple times and telling us it was
<v Speaker 1>a capacity crowd. It was not a capacity cred but
<v Speaker 1>they still had something like thirty seven thousand people there.
<v Speaker 1>That's still a healthy crowd. Now, US Bank Stadium, it's
<v Speaker 1>not an open air stadium, but I guess it must
<v Speaker 1>have like a transparent roof because the sunlight was shining through.
<v Speaker 1>For even during the main event, we had sunlight. Hell
<v Speaker 1>in a cell doesn't hit quite the same way when
<v Speaker 1>it's still light outside. It's like when Sting wrestled it.
<v Speaker 1>WrestleMania has one Wrestlemanium match. It's Sting. He's a dark character.
<v Speaker 1>He comes out and it's just fucking sunshine. The clouds
<v Speaker 1>are out, it's bright and sunny. It just doesn't hit
<v Speaker 1>the same way. So I don't know if it's the
<v Speaker 1>entire roof for just a portion of the roof, but
<v Speaker 1>you could see the light shining through the stage look
<v Speaker 1>good though. The setup looked good. Before the show started,
<v Speaker 1>we had Vaughan Evelyn performing God Bless America. And if
<v Speaker 1>you're wondering, well, who is Von Evelyn, that would be
<v Speaker 1>Von Evelyn Leveck, the fifteen year old daughter of Triple
<v Speaker 1>H and Stephanie McMahon. I don't believe they ever identified
<v Speaker 1>her as being their daughter, but she sang before the show.
<v Speaker 1>They opened the show with the Women's World Championship on
<v Speaker 1>the line, Live Morgan. This was a landmark day because
<v Speaker 1>this was Live Morgan's first title defense since she won
<v Speaker 1>the championship at WrestleMania in April. Over one hundred days
<v Speaker 1>of no defenses and finally she defended her title and
<v Speaker 1>it was against the Queen of the Ring, Eo Sky.
<v Speaker 1>So Morgan hit a three amigos. This was pretty early
<v Speaker 1>on in the match. There was a sunset bomb spot
<v Speaker 1>where liv got power bombed off the apron to the floor.
<v Speaker 1>Back inside, EO headed up top. Here comes Roxanne Perez
<v Speaker 1>and Raquel Rodriguez. This is a little deeper into the match,
<v Speaker 1>and so you knew the judgment Day was going to
<v Speaker 1>rear their heads at some point. So Roxanne distracted the
<v Speaker 1>referee while Raquel shoved Eo off the rope. She took
<v Speaker 1>a flat back into the center of the ring, but
<v Speaker 1>Eo made a comeback and she took out Perez and
<v Speaker 1>Rodriguez with a moon salt out to the floor. And
<v Speaker 1>then a few moments later, EO hit an avalanche Spanish
<v Speaker 1>fly and dropped Live all the way down, covered her
<v Speaker 1>for a near fall. EO then hit a backbreaker. Live
<v Speaker 1>rolled to the corner and EO went for the bullet
<v Speaker 1>train knees. Live moved out of the way, so she
<v Speaker 1>hit the turn buckle. EO hit Live with her own
<v Speaker 1>oblivion finish, only for a near fall. Then she went
<v Speaker 1>for her over the Moon salt, landed on her feet
<v Speaker 1>though when Live moved out of the way, EO sold
<v Speaker 1>it like maybe she jammed her knee or her ankle
<v Speaker 1>on the landing. Lived then jumped from the middle rope.
<v Speaker 1>She hit a code breaker for a two count. EO
<v Speaker 1>was able to dodge an oblivion attempt, got Live on
<v Speaker 1>the apron, and she delivered a German suplex on the apron.
<v Speaker 1>And now it Live sitting up against the ring post.
<v Speaker 1>Here comes EO and she comes charging in with the
<v Speaker 1>bullet train, knees back inside. Now EO goes up. She's
<v Speaker 1>gonna go again for the over the Moon salt, but
<v Speaker 1>Live got her feet up and then she went for oblivion.
<v Speaker 1>And it looked at first like she hit oblivion, and
<v Speaker 1>I get I mean, I guess EO blocked it. She
<v Speaker 1>ended up landing on her feet. She like propelled herself
<v Speaker 1>back up onto her feet, and she starts like screaming.
<v Speaker 1>She's all fired up, and like the crowd is into it.
<v Speaker 1>But then Live quickly followed up with a code breaker
<v Speaker 1>and then one last oblivion, and this time she got
<v Speaker 1>the pin to retain the title, and so liv Morgan
<v Speaker 1>remains undefeated at SummerSlam. This was either her third or
<v Speaker 1>fourth match at SummerSlam. She was undefeated coming into this show.
<v Speaker 1>She is still undefeated, which also means the dan Housen
<v Speaker 1>curse has been broken. Dan Housen cursed her, he never
<v Speaker 1>uncursed her, and she won. That means the dan Housen
<v Speaker 1>shit is dead. The curse has been broken. It has
<v Speaker 1>been rendered ineffective. Maybe we can start to quiet down
<v Speaker 1>the various dan Housen appearance. It just dial it back
<v Speaker 1>a little bit. Maybe I thought this was a very
<v Speaker 1>good opener, a great closing sequence, and they got time too.
<v Speaker 1>You know, Actually, now that I think about it, what's
<v Speaker 1>kind of said? This got more time than Brock and
<v Speaker 1>Obad inside the cell? It did? It got like a
<v Speaker 1>minute minute and a half more. This got about thirteen minutes.
<v Speaker 1>Brock Andoba had just shi of twelve. See that's what's
<v Speaker 1>ridiculous about it. Okay, again, I'm not saying that Brock
<v Speaker 1>Andoba had to go twenty plus, but I mean, for
<v Speaker 1>God's sake, does Eosky and Live Morgan really need to
<v Speaker 1>go longer than Brocklesner and Oba Femi when you have
<v Speaker 1>a hell in a cell stipulation, I mean, that's pretty
<v Speaker 1>fucking ridiculous. What I'm happy about, though, is that Live
<v Speaker 1>In Stephanie got like seven minutes if that at WrestleMania.
<v Speaker 1>So at least she got five or six minutes more
<v Speaker 1>for this match than she did in Mania. And now,
<v Speaker 1>I look, I just hope I was pulling for a
<v Speaker 1>title change, mostly because I'm just sick and tired of
<v Speaker 1>Live walking around with the title as a fashion accessory.
<v Speaker 1>They had nobody for her to work with. She became
<v Speaker 1>the de facto manager of the Judgment day. Okay, she retained,
<v Speaker 1>Now what, right? I don't want them to just go
<v Speaker 1>back to the way and let another one hundred days
<v Speaker 1>go by or fifty days go by, right, No more
<v Speaker 1>of this shit. She needs to get in the ring.
<v Speaker 1>She needs to defend the title every now and then, right,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I don't even think they have another pl
<v Speaker 1>E until when is the next pl E. I don't
<v Speaker 1>even know they have a Saturday they have a Sunday
<v Speaker 1>Night's main event at the beginning of next month. I
<v Speaker 1>don't even know what. I don't even know when the
<v Speaker 1>next pl E is. Honestly, they haven't announced wrestled Palooza yet.
<v Speaker 1>I can't imagine they don't bring it back. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>they were so in love with it last year, so
<v Speaker 1>I would think the Wrestle Palooza announcement for September is
<v Speaker 1>probably coming very soon. But for God's sake, just line
<v Speaker 1>up two or three women. I mean, maybe, with any luck,
<v Speaker 1>Stephanie Vicaier will reappear on RAW on Monday. Maybe she'll
<v Speaker 1>be back. Maybe she'll be back on TV this Monday,
<v Speaker 1>you know, and they can resume the feud, reignite that.
<v Speaker 1>But I mean, otherwise, you know, line a few people
<v Speaker 1>up and get her in the ring and let her
<v Speaker 1>defend the championship. No more of this bullshit where people
<v Speaker 1>are just hoarding belts and they don't do anything with them.
<v Speaker 1>Because here's the thing, it makes for boring television. If
<v Speaker 1>you want the television to be more exciting and more interesting.
<v Speaker 1>You've got to line up some challenges for these people.
<v Speaker 1>Even if EO had won, if EO won the belt,
<v Speaker 1>to that it would have been the same thing. You
<v Speaker 1>have to have people lined up for them to work with.
<v Speaker 1>So that's my only hope. If they have people lined
<v Speaker 1>up for live, great, then I have no problem with
<v Speaker 1>her retaining. But Monday would be a great time for
<v Speaker 1>a Stephanie Vickier return. Now they plugged, I mean they
<v Speaker 1>had a lot of different commercials here during the show.
<v Speaker 1>By the way, this show it started at six and
<v Speaker 1>it was over a little over three hours, like nine
<v Speaker 1>oh five. Maybe I think the show was over. I
<v Speaker 1>like it. Very economical. I will not complain about that.
<v Speaker 1>That's great. There's certain other pay per views that I
<v Speaker 1>wish would would also be you know, around that length
<v Speaker 1>three and a half hours, maybe top out around there
<v Speaker 1>would be nice. But we had a lot of ad
<v Speaker 1>breaks in between the matches, and one of them was
<v Speaker 1>they were advertising the new line of LJN figures. They've
<v Speaker 1>brought the ljns back, like last year. I think they
<v Speaker 1>brought them back. They had like Hogan and Dusty and
<v Speaker 1>Logan Paul and John Cena, right, I think those are
<v Speaker 1>the first four. So then there was like another line
<v Speaker 1>of figures and they announced, and this might have just
<v Speaker 1>been announced it to a comic con, that they're coming
<v Speaker 1>out with a Heart Foundation two pack, and that drew
<v Speaker 1>my attention because when I was a kid, I never
<v Speaker 1>did have the Heart Foundation ones with a Brett one
<v Speaker 1>and I was like, hmm, I don't know, maybe maybe
<v Speaker 1>maybe I'd be interested in that. And apparently today was
<v Speaker 1>the pre sale on Target. They're a Target exclusive, and
<v Speaker 1>so somebody reminded me of this earlier and they said, hey,
<v Speaker 1>they just open up the pre sales and they're available
<v Speaker 1>and they're discounted for like forty bucks if you want
<v Speaker 1>to jump on there and buy them. I'm like, oh shit.
<v Speaker 1>So I jump on Target dot Com earlier today, and
<v Speaker 1>there they are. They got the Heart Foundation, they got
<v Speaker 1>Brother Love. Who gives a fuck about Brother Love? And
<v Speaker 1>I click on the Heart Foundation one and it looks
<v Speaker 1>like it's in stock, and I go add to cart
<v Speaker 1>and it won't let me add to cart. It says
<v Speaker 1>items sold out. These are for pre orders. By the way,
<v Speaker 1>I said items sold out. It was just available that quickly. Gone, Gone,
<v Speaker 1>gone with the wind. Actually, I was shocked at the
<v Speaker 1>ship day. They're not even shipping until May of next year.
<v Speaker 1>What the fuck fucking ten months away? But it doesn't
<v Speaker 1>matter because they're already gone. Fuck off, LJN ridiculous, doesn't
<v Speaker 1>even look like Brett. I was very mad about this,
<v Speaker 1>and then they have to have a commercial for it.
<v Speaker 1>Fuck off. We had the six man tag team match.
<v Speaker 1>It was La Knight. It was Solo, Socoa and Royce
<v Speaker 1>Keys against Jacob fought To and the USOS. The blood
<v Speaker 1>Line got a special Gears of War a video game
<v Speaker 1>entrance or it was like a video game sponsored entrance,
<v Speaker 1>and Jacob thought to He entered wearing a werewolf mask.
<v Speaker 1>We haven't seen him wear that mask in a while.
<v Speaker 1>He's warned a few times before, so the mask is
<v Speaker 1>kind of cool. Solo and Jay they ended up in
<v Speaker 1>the ring together and Solo he turns, He turns to
<v Speaker 1>the hard can. He turns to the heart. Solo is great,
<v Speaker 1>fuck that tree, Ah hate Chief, thank you, thank you
<v Speaker 1>for the luring tree and super super Trabo with the subscribe.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you brother, appreciate it. Solo looks to the hardcam
<v Speaker 1>and he gives the signal to run it back and
<v Speaker 1>they start playing Jay Usso's music and fucking Solo Sokoa
<v Speaker 1>is standing in the middle of the ring and he
<v Speaker 1>starts yeating, and the entire crowd, like on the Hard Camp,
<v Speaker 1>you see everybody just standing up and yeating along with Solo,
<v Speaker 1>and Jay is looking at it. It's like, what the
<v Speaker 1>fuck do you do? Jack in my entrance here you're
<v Speaker 1>jacking my shit. But this was this was hilarious, Like
<v Speaker 1>the look the giant smile on Solo's face amazing. How
<v Speaker 1>was this man ever? A heel? Solo dropped fa too
<v Speaker 1>with a Samoan drop, but Jacob no soul that got
<v Speaker 1>right back up to his feet and he ended up
<v Speaker 1>dropping Solo with the pop up samo and drop and
<v Speaker 1>then a running sent on. So the Bloodlin worked over Solo.
<v Speaker 1>In the corner. Crab was chanting, let's go Solo. I'm
<v Speaker 1>starting to hear that more and more. We heard that
<v Speaker 1>on Monday night when he was in the crowd. They
<v Speaker 1>started chanting let's go Solo. Let's they were chanting for me.
<v Speaker 1>It's very possible. I'm sure you're all at home right
<v Speaker 1>now when you tune into these streams and you're chanting
<v Speaker 1>that same thing. In fact, I want you to type
<v Speaker 1>that out in the chat. We got to get some
<v Speaker 1>let's go solo chance going so FA two hit solo
<v Speaker 1>with a running hip attack in the corner, but then
<v Speaker 1>the two of them ended up colliding. They closelined each other.
<v Speaker 1>We got a double down. So anyway, Royce Keys tagged
<v Speaker 1>in and Jimmy Uso tagged in and Keys planted him
<v Speaker 1>with the world's Strongest Slam. I guess that was maybe
<v Speaker 1>a little tribute to Mark Henry who was in the crowd.
<v Speaker 1>They showed him in the crowd. In fact, the entire
<v Speaker 1>Busted Open crew was in the crowd. They had a
<v Speaker 1>shot of them later on right there was Dave Lagreca,
<v Speaker 1>Tommy Dreamer, Bully Ray, big smile, big cheesy smile on
<v Speaker 1>his face. Yeah. So there was a spot where Keys
<v Speaker 1>was on the ropes with Jimmy and he was trying
<v Speaker 1>to pick him up again like almost in a World's
<v Speaker 1>Strongest Slam position, but from the middle rope. But he
<v Speaker 1>was struggling, man, I mean, it was it was tough.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know what if it was just like his
<v Speaker 1>positioning on the ropes or he just couldn't get a
<v Speaker 1>good grip or whatever it was. This was taking forever,
<v Speaker 1>and then finally he was able to power slam him
<v Speaker 1>off the ropes. Jimmy does look bigger. I don't know
<v Speaker 1>if that had something to do with it, but La
<v Speaker 1>Knight and Jay they got tagged in and Jacob tried
<v Speaker 1>to jump into things. Night knocked him off the apron
<v Speaker 1>hit a big elbow for a near fall, and Jay
<v Speaker 1>came back with a spear for a near fall of
<v Speaker 1>his own. So Jay went up top. Night though he
<v Speaker 1>popped up, did the leap up to the top that
<v Speaker 1>he does and brought him down with a superplex. But
<v Speaker 1>Jimmy was on the top rope in the opposite corner
<v Speaker 1>and he came diving off with an USO splash. So
<v Speaker 1>then Solo took out Jimmy with a Yuranagi. FA two
<v Speaker 1>took out Solo with an implant DDTDI impaler. Royce keys
<v Speaker 1>he drove FOT two into the mat with a spinebuster,
<v Speaker 1>and then they ended up outside and this was the
<v Speaker 1>big spot of the match right here, because Jacob charged
<v Speaker 1>in towards Royce, who was over by the timekeeper's barricade.
<v Speaker 1>So here comes Jacob Fatu Keys catches him as he
<v Speaker 1>comes charging in. He catches him for a power slam,
<v Speaker 1>and he power slams him over the timekeeper's barricade to
<v Speaker 1>the floor on the other side, which is exposed. It's
<v Speaker 1>the concrete on the other side of the barricade. Keys
<v Speaker 1>goes over the barricade with him and nearly spikes himself
<v Speaker 1>face first down into the ground. I mean, this was
<v Speaker 1>a crazy spot and that could have ended very badly.
<v Speaker 1>So that was like the one big holy shit spot
<v Speaker 1>of the match. Back inside, j hit Knight with a spear.
<v Speaker 1>Jimmy came off the top with an USO splash and
<v Speaker 1>he covered Night though kicked out it too, And so
<v Speaker 1>the USO set up for the one D solo was
<v Speaker 1>on the apron and he reaches over and he delivers
<v Speaker 1>the Samoan spike to Jimmy. La Knight then catches Jay
<v Speaker 1>with a BFT and man, I'm kind of under selling it.
<v Speaker 1>He got all of that BFT. He fucking planted him,
<v Speaker 1>and I will say Jay sold this great and La
<v Speaker 1>Knight pins j Uso to win the six man tag
<v Speaker 1>team messie that I wasn't expecting that. That was a
<v Speaker 1>pleasant surprise, And I have to say this, I feel vindicated, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>for all the times, and you guys know, for all
<v Speaker 1>the times over the last several months that I have
<v Speaker 1>said that deep within there is a babyface run, a
<v Speaker 1>great babyface run buried within Solo's socoa. Why is he
<v Speaker 1>continuing to do the shit that they have him doing
<v Speaker 1>on TV? Why is this MFT stuff still going on?
<v Speaker 1>Why are the MFT still feuding with the Wyat's six right?
<v Speaker 1>How many times did we talk about this over and
<v Speaker 1>over and over again, and now it is starting to
<v Speaker 1>bear fruit. You are seeing. This is why I was
<v Speaker 1>saying it the entire time. It's amazing sometimes how if
<v Speaker 1>you just let somebody be more like themselves, how they
<v Speaker 1>can get over. The guy is a natural babyface. He's
<v Speaker 1>naturally charismatic and naturally funny. If you just let some
<v Speaker 1>of that shine through on TV, he will get over.
<v Speaker 1>He will get over. The only regret I have is
<v Speaker 1>that I had this whole idea in mind for the
<v Speaker 1>entire MFT. He's not just Solo. Yeah, they could have.
<v Speaker 1>You could have gotten the whole group over. Instead you
<v Speaker 1>fired half of them, and now Tallatoga and Tomatonga are
<v Speaker 1>going to be doing something with Haku and we'll see
<v Speaker 1>where that goes. But solo on a zone as a babyface.
<v Speaker 1>This is how it needs to be. Any consideration to
<v Speaker 1>turning him back or there being a swerve, or you know,
<v Speaker 1>we don't want him to be a babyface for the
<v Speaker 1>long run, Like that's bullshit. You gotta put that idea
<v Speaker 1>out of your mind. If they're thinking about that, they
<v Speaker 1>need to not think about that and just keep riding
<v Speaker 1>this wave. Let him go out there, let him be himself,
<v Speaker 1>and he will continue to get over and the crowds
<v Speaker 1>will continue to chant his name, and you see how
<v Speaker 1>far you can take it. So that is great to see.
<v Speaker 1>I was surprised the bloodline lost, pleasantly surprised even more
<v Speaker 1>so that La Night got the pin on jay Usso again,
<v Speaker 1>I was not expecting that to take place. I don't
<v Speaker 1>know that it leads anywhere worthwhile. I gave up a
<v Speaker 1>long time ago getting my hopes up assuming that there's
<v Speaker 1>really anything of substance in store for this guy, that
<v Speaker 1>they have some sort of big grand plan for him.
<v Speaker 1>They don't, but you never know. Right, you're only one
<v Speaker 1>injury away, A spot opens up and all of a
<v Speaker 1>sudden la and getting a big push. Not that I'm
<v Speaker 1>advocating for anybody to get hurt, but I have no
<v Speaker 1>faith whatsoever they have any real grand plans for him
<v Speaker 1>beyond what he's doing right now. For one night though,
<v Speaker 1>for one night, he beat the yeat Man and he
<v Speaker 1>got the win for his team, and he wasn't looking
<v Speaker 1>up with the lights. I'll take it. Fun match, fun match.
<v Speaker 1>They kept up a good pace. I thought everybody had
<v Speaker 1>a chance to shine at different points, and the bloodline
<v Speaker 1>ate shit for a change. This was an easy thumbs up.
<v Speaker 1>Then we had Gunther, the Ring General, taking on the
<v Speaker 1>National Treasure Nick All this this was all. This is
<v Speaker 1>in ring WWE debut. This was his first match in
<v Speaker 1>three years he's been out of the ring, and they
<v Speaker 1>actually paid for Oasis not to perform live, but they
<v Speaker 1>paid for Morning Glory, which was a little difficult to
<v Speaker 1>hear when he initially came out, but then it became
<v Speaker 1>very clear listening to it what it was. And I'll
<v Speaker 1>be damned, I'm sure that didn't come cheap. I'm also
<v Speaker 1>sure that this is going to be edited off the
<v Speaker 1>replays on ESPN and or Netflix. I would be shocked
<v Speaker 1>if they keep that song in there, but they had
<v Speaker 1>to pay something for it, and I'm sure it wasn't cheap.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know how many people they're going to have
<v Speaker 1>to release in the next wave of cutbacks to pay
<v Speaker 1>for the song, but it just added to kind of
<v Speaker 1>the special nature of the occasion. And I'm sure for him,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if he had to say in the song.
<v Speaker 1>I mean he must have. But that was very unexpected
<v Speaker 1>because I was worried they were going to deaf rebel him.
<v Speaker 1>I started thinking about, like, oh, man, when he comes out,
<v Speaker 1>like what is he gonna come out to? Yeah, God
<v Speaker 1>only knows what god awful song they're going to have
<v Speaker 1>him come out to. So him coming out to that
<v Speaker 1>was a relief. And they introduced him as the National Treasure,
<v Speaker 1>which is the nickname he used to go by when
<v Speaker 1>he was the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion. He looked incredible.
<v Speaker 1>I mean he really did, like he got himself. I
<v Speaker 1>mean he was already in shape, but like whatever work
<v Speaker 1>he's put into things over the last several weeks, it
<v Speaker 1>paid off just cosmetically. He looked like he can just
<v Speaker 1>you know, he could be on the active roster right now.
<v Speaker 1>It wouldn't look out of place at all, so he
<v Speaker 1>was in great shape. They also acknowledged him on the screen.
<v Speaker 1>They put a graphic up showing some of his past
<v Speaker 1>accomplishments and they acknowledged him as a I think a
<v Speaker 1>two time TNA tag team champion, but said nothing about
<v Speaker 1>him being an NWA champion, which was I just found
<v Speaker 1>that funny. His wife, Mickey James and their son Donovan
<v Speaker 1>were in the front row for this match. I popped
<v Speaker 1>at Michael Cole talking about all This's appearance last week
<v Speaker 1>on Chris Van Vliet's podcast, which is a great interview
<v Speaker 1>by the if he didn't see it, but wait, according
<v Speaker 1>to Cole, it was the NWE. Is that what he said? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Cole is he's just been awful lately. The NW. I'm
<v Speaker 1>sure there is a promotion out there called NWE. I
<v Speaker 1>don't think they can all this ever wrestle for them,
<v Speaker 1>but I'm sure they exist somewhere. What I was gonna
<v Speaker 1>say is I popped at Michael Cole. He was talking
<v Speaker 1>about all disappearing on Chris's podcast and never acknowledge the
<v Speaker 1>fact that in the front row on the hardcam right there.
<v Speaker 1>I think as he was saying it let alone all night.
<v Speaker 1>He was right there in the front row was Chris
<v Speaker 1>van Vliet. He was sitting right there. Never even acknowledged him,
<v Speaker 1>but he did mention that he was on his podcast.
<v Speaker 1>I should have texted Chris during the show, just to
<v Speaker 1>fuck with him, and then while I'm watching, I'll see
<v Speaker 1>him look down at his phone and know that it
<v Speaker 1>was me. See, but I didn't do it though I
<v Speaker 1>didn't want to bother. There was a very impressive spot
<v Speaker 1>early on here in this match where all this he
<v Speaker 1>caught Gunther out of mid air and then muscled him
<v Speaker 1>up into a vertical suplex. All this went to the ropes.
<v Speaker 1>Gunther came over though he chopped him off the ropes,
<v Speaker 1>and all this took a hard bump down to the floor.
<v Speaker 1>So gun the he went over and got in Mickey's
<v Speaker 1>face in the front row a ringside. See. I thought
<v Speaker 1>they were setting up for a spot late in the match,
<v Speaker 1>you know, where like he would saunter on over to
<v Speaker 1>Mickey and then Mickey would like slap him in the
<v Speaker 1>face or something. They didn't do anything like that. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>put you know, go to put the kid in the sleeperhold,
<v Speaker 1>and then Mickey smacks him or something. I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. When they show the family on screen,
<v Speaker 1>immediately you think angle alerts, right. I'm just it's kind
<v Speaker 1>of ingrained in me as a wrestling fan to think
<v Speaker 1>okay and Mickey obviously herself being a wrestler, but they
<v Speaker 1>never did factor into the match. So a little bit
<v Speaker 1>later on Gunther he escaped a clover leaf attempt, he
<v Speaker 1>locked in a sleeper. All just sent Gunther into the
<v Speaker 1>turn and buckles to break the sleeper hold, but Gunther
<v Speaker 1>then mowed him down with a hard lariat and he
<v Speaker 1>tried to go up top. All this though, cut him
<v Speaker 1>off with a superplex, and at this point the crowd
<v Speaker 1>was shedding. You still got it? Or, as Michael Cole said,
<v Speaker 1>you still have it? Does he just make shit up
<v Speaker 1>as things go? He just I don't know, I don't
<v Speaker 1>know what it is with him. Man, how long has
<v Speaker 1>he been doing this for? Now? Thirty years? Hm? So
<v Speaker 1>All this caught gun Through with a flying clothesline, then
<v Speaker 1>he hit a British Bulldog style power slam for a
<v Speaker 1>near fall. All this put Gunther down with a slam
<v Speaker 1>before hitting a top rope diving elbow. Then he followed
<v Speaker 1>up with another top rope elbow and then he got
<v Speaker 1>the clover leaf applied. And the crowd was invested in
<v Speaker 1>this man, because when he got that submission locked on,
<v Speaker 1>and it's not like he's ever wrestled for them before.
<v Speaker 1>It's not like it's been established that this is his
<v Speaker 1>move sets and this is his finishing move, and people
<v Speaker 1>were popping for it, man, I mean they were fully
<v Speaker 1>into it. Gunn There eventually grabbed the bottom rope for
<v Speaker 1>the break. Gunther There got another sleeper, replied all this,
<v Speaker 1>though quickly reversed it to a big pop, and Gunther
<v Speaker 1>broke the hold with a Sayito suplex and then locked
<v Speaker 1>in yet another sleeper. This time he has him down
<v Speaker 1>on the mat and that's not the place to be.
<v Speaker 1>All this was able to fight up to his feet.
<v Speaker 1>Gunther takes him back down again and then eventually all
<v Speaker 1>this is forced to tap out. After Gunther left, they
<v Speaker 1>stopped the music and all this got to his feet,
<v Speaker 1>nice respectful ovation, standing ovation and applause from the crowd.
<v Speaker 1>Mickey comes into the ring along with young Donovan and
<v Speaker 1>we have a nice little family celebration in the middle
<v Speaker 1>of the ring. And again, you know, for the fans
<v Speaker 1>who want a chance. You still got it. You still
<v Speaker 1>got it. One thing that all this proved in the
<v Speaker 1>ring tonight, in this match, he never lost it. It's
<v Speaker 1>always been there. He was just waiting for the opportunity.
<v Speaker 1>If you watch the interview with Chris van Vlie, he
<v Speaker 1>got very emotional when he was talking about this match
<v Speaker 1>coming up and starts crying. He can barely speak, and
<v Speaker 1>he just says, after like a minute of not being
<v Speaker 1>able to speak, he just goes, this is in so
<v Speaker 1>many words, it was like, this is special, Like this match,
<v Speaker 1>this means a lot. He basically said, like, this is
<v Speaker 1>my shot. This is the shot he's been waiting for
<v Speaker 1>for years. He's getting it now. I don't know how
<v Speaker 1>old is he, thirty nine, forty, he's in that range.
<v Speaker 1>It took this long, but this was his shot. So again,
<v Speaker 1>him going out there and the presentation with the music
<v Speaker 1>and everything, and him coming out being in shape like
<v Speaker 1>that and towel around the neck, you know, the national treasure.
<v Speaker 1>Everything just had to be pitch perfect because he doesn't
<v Speaker 1>know when or if he's going to have another chance
<v Speaker 1>to go out there in WWE and do this. This
<v Speaker 1>may be it, you know, we don't know. Took him
<v Speaker 1>three years to get this guy in the ring. If
<v Speaker 1>this is gonna be the only shot he has, he
<v Speaker 1>wants to make the most of it. Well, he can
<v Speaker 1>be very proud of what he did today. There was
<v Speaker 1>nothing in this match that would lead you to believe
<v Speaker 1>that this man shouldn't be in the ring. He didn't
<v Speaker 1>embarrass himself, he didn't gas himself out, he didn't you know,
<v Speaker 1>slip on the ropes or I mean, there was nothing.
<v Speaker 1>Everything was Everything was pitch perfect. You know, when the
<v Speaker 1>match played out exactly the way I figured it would.
<v Speaker 1>You know, he got some hope spots in there, he
<v Speaker 1>had the crowd behind him. But in the end, gunther
<v Speaker 1>took him to the mat and he put him out
<v Speaker 1>because there was no other outcome here. I know, for
<v Speaker 1>the sake of like the story and making people happy.
<v Speaker 1>It would have been great to give him a happy
<v Speaker 1>moment with his family there. But what is that accomplish
<v Speaker 1>if he's just gonna go back in the suit and
<v Speaker 1>tie and become the GM again. And now you got
<v Speaker 1>gunther On SmackDown and it's like, okay, you've been beaten
<v Speaker 1>by the general manager of the show. Oh boy, that
<v Speaker 1>really helps Gunther, like there could be no their outcome here.
<v Speaker 1>It played out exactly the way that I expected it to,
<v Speaker 1>in the way that it should have now, I said
<v Speaker 1>earlier when the show went off the air for those
<v Speaker 1>of you who are joining late all this, confronted Triple
<v Speaker 1>H and tried to hand him a letter of resignation
<v Speaker 1>as the GM of SmackDown, and he said, look, I
<v Speaker 1>accept my fate. I may not be able to be
<v Speaker 1>the GM anymore because I wanted this match. It's been
<v Speaker 1>an honor and a privilege to serve. And Triple H said,
<v Speaker 1>not so fast. I'm reinstating you. So he is going
<v Speaker 1>to stay on as the GM of SmackDown, and we'll
<v Speaker 1>see if he wrestles again at some point, maybe a
<v Speaker 1>cameo and a rumble or something. I could see that,
<v Speaker 1>but it would be very awkward, you know, to have
<v Speaker 1>to shoot an angle every single time he's going to
<v Speaker 1>feud with this person or that person to you know,
<v Speaker 1>kind of pull him from the GM position. So if
<v Speaker 1>you got to make a decision, I think the right
<v Speaker 1>decision is to keep him in the GM spot. Now,
<v Speaker 1>as far as Gunther, who picked up the win, here,
<v Speaker 1>where does he go? Coming out of this, right, probably
<v Speaker 1>not the WWE title picture. Frankly, I don't really want
<v Speaker 1>him in the title picture. Been there done that. We
<v Speaker 1>already did that a few months ago. There is a
<v Speaker 1>number one contenders match coming up tomorrow in Night two
<v Speaker 1>between Sammy's A and Finn Balor that I believe Finn
<v Speaker 1>Balor is winning. I mentioned that last week, and so
<v Speaker 1>Gunther on Friday yesterday attack both of them, making it
<v Speaker 1>very clear that he wants to be the number one contender.
<v Speaker 1>That could be setting up something between Gunther and Finn
<v Speaker 1>Balor Balor if he wins. I mean, he may get
<v Speaker 1>his title match first, but like coming out of that,
<v Speaker 1>I would love to see something with Baler and Gunther. Right,
<v Speaker 1>they've had maybe one match before on TV on Raw
<v Speaker 1>many years ago, but they've never had a proper feud,
<v Speaker 1>so that could be. To me, that's actually the likely
<v Speaker 1>direction if I had a guess for Gunther as we
<v Speaker 1>go forward after this, we had more six person tagg
<v Speaker 1>team action. This was quite the departure from the one
<v Speaker 1>that we had earlier. This was the opposite of the
<v Speaker 1>six person tag we had earlier. This was fatal influence,
<v Speaker 1>J C. Jane and the women's tag team Champions fallon
<v Speaker 1>Henley and Lany Reid taking on Page and the now
<v Speaker 1>reunited Bella Twins now that Nikki Bella is back. This
<v Speaker 1>was a mess, That's what this was. This was a mess,
<v Speaker 1>and the crowd was quiet for most of it. But
<v Speaker 1>there was an early cannon ball outside the ring by J. C.
<v Speaker 1>Jane to Bree Bella up against the ring steps, and
<v Speaker 1>I'm pretty sure this is where she got hurt because
<v Speaker 1>Brie immediately clutched her right shoulder. I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>it was the shoulder the collar bone, but there was
<v Speaker 1>some injury that took place. And yeah, how about it?
<v Speaker 1>How about it? Venom Kaitetsu with the fourteen dollars super chet. See,
<v Speaker 1>this is a very this is becoming a very popular one.
<v Speaker 1>Sy guy is here. Thanks for the content, man, I
<v Speaker 1>will thank you. I'm glad you enjoy it. But from
<v Speaker 1>that cannonball spot, from that point forward, she kept clutching
<v Speaker 1>that shoulder. She would not let go of it. It
<v Speaker 1>was clearly bothering her for the rest of the match.
<v Speaker 1>So whenever she tagged back in, she was basically useless
<v Speaker 1>in the ring. She was like a one armed woman
<v Speaker 1>in there. She couldn't do anything. She could barely take
<v Speaker 1>any bump. She was trying to protect her arm. It
<v Speaker 1>was very clear to me as a fan, as an
<v Speaker 1>observer just watching at home, you know, on my fucking
<v Speaker 1>iPad watching this show. I can't imagine that. You know,
<v Speaker 1>there weren't people in the back who could tell that
<v Speaker 1>she was hurt. You have two other women that are
<v Speaker 1>on her team, and it's not like they were doing
<v Speaker 1>any sort of like convoluted spots that well, we need Bree, like,
<v Speaker 1>let her just tag out. Why was she still in
<v Speaker 1>there doing stuff that she clearly was in no condition
<v Speaker 1>to do. I don't know why she was able to
<v Speaker 1>stay in the match, and the referee didn't just communicate
<v Speaker 1>to her, like get out of the ring and let
<v Speaker 1>the doctor go check on you. But there was an
<v Speaker 1>embarrassing spot late where she was supposed to throw Jace
<v Speaker 1>Jane out of the ring, but she couldn't do anything
<v Speaker 1>except move out of the way, and Jace basically had
<v Speaker 1>to throw herself out of the ring to the floor.
<v Speaker 1>Page got a blind tag, caught Jace with a sunset
<v Speaker 1>flip for a near fall, but then after a distraction,
<v Speaker 1>Jace caught her with a rolling encore and she pinned
<v Speaker 1>Page to win the match. So even though she lost
<v Speaker 1>the match for her team, the Bella's, they embraced Page.
<v Speaker 1>They said it's okay, and they gave her a hug.
<v Speaker 1>And then when that was over, predictably, the Bella Twins
<v Speaker 1>attacked Page and turned heel and the process, Bree threw
<v Speaker 1>a few very weak kicks because that's really all she
<v Speaker 1>could do. It was mostly just Nicky beating the crap
<v Speaker 1>out of Page, and she dropped her with a rack attack.
<v Speaker 1>Triple H announced that on the post show, Brie is
<v Speaker 1>now injured. Well yeah, I mean, I didn't need Triple
<v Speaker 1>H to tell me that. I could tell she was injured.
<v Speaker 1>Hopefully it's not too serious. I don't like to see
<v Speaker 1>anybody get hurt. But it was pretty clear, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>ninety seconds or whatever it was into the match, it
<v Speaker 1>was pretty clear. The shoulder Demon again I said, collar
<v Speaker 1>bom potentially probably it looked like more of a shoulder injury.
<v Speaker 1>The shoulder Demon, it looks like may have taken another
<v Speaker 1>one tonight. He's been on vacation. We haven't heard from
<v Speaker 1>the shoulder Demon in a while. I guess we were overdue.
<v Speaker 1>But then after Nicki lays out Page and the Bellas
<v Speaker 1>are leaving together, and Brie looks very upset. That was
<v Speaker 1>the other giveaway, like she knew something was probably badly,
<v Speaker 1>badly wrong. She didn't seem very happy about that. But
<v Speaker 1>Nikki is just kind of like muttering to herself and
<v Speaker 1>just talking out loud, and she says, don't ever take
<v Speaker 1>my spot. And I'm like, it doesn't make any sense.
<v Speaker 1>You're the one who chose Page to be in the
<v Speaker 1>spot that was supposed to belong to you, but you
<v Speaker 1>got hurt. You chose Page, you made the phone call
<v Speaker 1>to bring her in, and that's why she won the
<v Speaker 1>Tag team championships with your sister. How did she take
<v Speaker 1>your spot? I mean, that's that's on. You didn't really
<v Speaker 1>make a whole lot of sense to me. But I
<v Speaker 1>don't know, man, I mean maybe it's a sign. You know,
<v Speaker 1>one Bella gets hurt, she's gone for months, literally her
<v Speaker 1>first match back, and her sister gets hurt, and she's
<v Speaker 1>probably gonna be gone for weeks at a minim them
<v Speaker 1>because it didn't look good. So I don't know what
<v Speaker 1>that means now for whatever their plans are. You know,
<v Speaker 1>there was somebody in the chat yesterday, I think on
<v Speaker 1>the stream who suggested that maybe the direction is the
<v Speaker 1>Bellas turned on Page. Page then brings in aj Lee.
<v Speaker 1>You know her old friend aj Lee. They were tag
<v Speaker 1>team partners at WrestleMania, weren't they WrestleMania thirty one, I believe,
<v Speaker 1>And then we end up with Page and aj feuding
<v Speaker 1>with the Bellas. I'm not sure who was asking for that,
<v Speaker 1>but I said, yeah, you know what, I could see that. Well,
<v Speaker 1>now what I'm not saying that was the plan. I'm
<v Speaker 1>just saying I could see that being the plan. And
<v Speaker 1>whatever the plan was for the Bella is, if you're
<v Speaker 1>one Bella down, do they put Nicki on ice or
<v Speaker 1>what do they do here? I don't know. It would
<v Speaker 1>seem to me like we may get Paige and Nicki
<v Speaker 1>in a one on one feud. Again. I don't know
<v Speaker 1>if anyone is asking for this or itching to see this,
<v Speaker 1>but they may not have a choice. Now. So already
<v Speaker 1>it was time for the WWE Championship match. It was
<v Speaker 1>Cody Rhodes challenging Cmpunk and I have to show you
<v Speaker 1>this image because Cody had a very special end. Now,
<v Speaker 1>for those of you who don't know Cody Roads is
<v Speaker 1>going to be in a movie coming out in October,
<v Speaker 1>a little movie called street Fighter. Roman Rains is in
<v Speaker 1>that same movie. Roman Rains plays a Kuma and Cody
<v Speaker 1>is going to play Gile. I saw the Mortal Kombat movie. Well,
<v Speaker 1>I saw Mortal Kombat two when it came out a
<v Speaker 1>few months ago, and I enjoyed it. I thought it
<v Speaker 1>was a fun movie. I will see street Fighter. I
<v Speaker 1>saw the trailer for it. It looks like dumb fun.
<v Speaker 1>I was a big Street Fighter fan, you know, back
<v Speaker 1>in the day, and played street Fighter two, Turbo and
<v Speaker 1>some of the other ones. And they took the graphics
<v Speaker 1>for this intro here right out of Street Fighter two
<v Speaker 1>because they had a like a main menu screen and
<v Speaker 1>then it went to your character select screen, which is
<v Speaker 1>what you see right now. I actually thought this was
<v Speaker 1>very cool. I love this retro shit. I mean, you
<v Speaker 1>look at the intro I use for the stream tonight,
<v Speaker 1>can't you tell. I'm a big fan of the eight
<v Speaker 1>bit days, so they put this up. But I was
<v Speaker 1>looking at the character selection screen, which I will draw
<v Speaker 1>your attention to right now, and obviously here they chose
<v Speaker 1>Cody Rhoades and see I'm punk and that was cool.
<v Speaker 1>But look at the other characters that they included here.
<v Speaker 1>And I'm looking at this and I see Javon Evans
<v Speaker 1>is there, and Jade car Gill is there. There's Gun there.
<v Speaker 1>There's Dan Housen because a fucking course he's everywhere. And
<v Speaker 1>there's Cody and Becky and Sammy and Ray. And then
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, is that is that Ricky? Is that Ricky Saints?
<v Speaker 1>I believe it is? And I thought to myself, that
<v Speaker 1>was totally Cody. Now what makes sense why Ricky Saints
<v Speaker 1>would be in there? It was Cody's entrance. I'm sure
<v Speaker 1>Cody was like, Hey, you know what, let's get Let's
<v Speaker 1>get my boy Ricky in there. He's not getting a
<v Speaker 1>lot of love on TV these days, so let's get
<v Speaker 1>Ricky in there. I'll tell you what, though, if this
<v Speaker 1>I would play the shit out of this game. If
<v Speaker 1>this was real, I would I'd be all over. That
<v Speaker 1>gives me TJ. Perkins vibes. If anyone remembers out here,
<v Speaker 1>I do remember that, yes, old TJP. So Cody comes
<v Speaker 1>out and he is wearing his skull mask, but the
<v Speaker 1>skull mask has like gile hair attached to it, or
<v Speaker 1>it was part of the mask or whatever, because that's
<v Speaker 1>the character he plays in the movie. This whole thing.
<v Speaker 1>Cody just sort of appeared on the stage, got like
<v Speaker 1>no reaction. The crowd was very very quiet for all this,
<v Speaker 1>which is kind of the way they were for Cody, honestly.
<v Speaker 1>As he came to the ring, then we got to
<v Speaker 1>see him Punk entrance and they followed him the long
<v Speaker 1>walk through the back and through Gorilla and then out
<v Speaker 1>onto the stage no music. They did the same thing
<v Speaker 1>at WrestleMania this year, and the camera's behind Punk, so
<v Speaker 1>you see his back and then you kind of look
<v Speaker 1>out into all the vast sea of fans right thirty
<v Speaker 1>seven thousand or whatever they have there, and then the
<v Speaker 1>music kicks in and then he makes his way down
<v Speaker 1>to the ring. I would say that nearly nearly the
<v Speaker 1>first half of them. I can't even say quarter of
<v Speaker 1>the match. I would say close to the first like
<v Speaker 1>half of the match. Very slow, very dull, very plodding
<v Speaker 1>at times. But they knew they were working thirty minutes,
<v Speaker 1>and so they started slow, and the idea was to build.
<v Speaker 1>And I'm not saying it doesn't make sense. They were
<v Speaker 1>working body parts and sometimes in matches like this, when
<v Speaker 1>you take the time to work a body part and
<v Speaker 1>to work a limb, psychologically, it might make sense and
<v Speaker 1>it might factor into things that are going to happen
<v Speaker 1>later on in the match, but in the moment it
<v Speaker 1>can be pretty fucking boring. And that's what this match was.
<v Speaker 1>Long stretches of just nothing where they're just working over
<v Speaker 1>a body part and then they get you know, kind
<v Speaker 1>of shunned away, and then they go back to it again.
<v Speaker 1>They repeat the same spot over again, dragon screw or
<v Speaker 1>you know, whatever the case may be. So with Cody,
<v Speaker 1>it was Punk working over Cody's left arm, and then
<v Speaker 1>Cody started working over Punk's left knee. So finally things
<v Speaker 1>started to pick up a little bit here because I
<v Speaker 1>was getting very restless as I'm watching this match, and
<v Speaker 1>it's time for Cody to go to sleep. All right,
<v Speaker 1>now we're going Now we're going into the finisher spam
<v Speaker 1>phase of the match here. They didn't go too too
<v Speaker 1>hard on that, but he went for the GTS. Cody
<v Speaker 1>elbows his way out of it, still favoring the arm.
<v Speaker 1>He goes for the Cody he drops. Punk goes for
<v Speaker 1>the pin to count only so Cody follows that with
<v Speaker 1>the disaster kick for another near fall. Now he's setting
<v Speaker 1>up for a super Cody Cutter and he nails it
<v Speaker 1>and he covers again. Punk kicks out, So now he's
<v Speaker 1>teasing the crossroads and you could hear fans booing. They
<v Speaker 1>certainly weren't cheering. There were definitely booze that were noticeable.
<v Speaker 1>Punk avoids the attempt Schoolboy only for two. Punk goes
<v Speaker 1>for a GTS. Cody, though, catches the leg on the
<v Speaker 1>way down and he gets punked down and he locks
<v Speaker 1>on the figure four leg lock and he's been working
<v Speaker 1>over the leg, he's been working over the knee, so
<v Speaker 1>now he's going to the figure four and when he
<v Speaker 1>gets the figure four applied, now the crowd is starting
<v Speaker 1>to come alive. Now the crowd is responding and they're
<v Speaker 1>starting to really get into it here. And Punk is
<v Speaker 1>screaming and he's trying to reverse out of the hold,
<v Speaker 1>and finally he's able to roll over and he forces
<v Speaker 1>a row break. So Cody went forward again. Punk pulled
<v Speaker 1>him forward though I thought he was pulling him forward
<v Speaker 1>into a small package, but he transitioned into the Anacon
<v Speaker 1>device and Cody very easily gets his foot on the
<v Speaker 1>bottom up to force the break. So then Cody, this
<v Speaker 1>was kind of a weird spot. Cody gets him up
<v Speaker 1>in an Alabama Slam position. I'm like, oh, he's hearkening
<v Speaker 1>back to his tag team days with Hardcore Holly. Here.
<v Speaker 1>It's like when Steve Austin was feuding with Brett and
<v Speaker 1>he was still using the million dollar dream that he
<v Speaker 1>took from Ted Dbiassi. So he gets him in position
<v Speaker 1>for the Alabama Slam, which I guess now is it's
<v Speaker 1>Tiffany Shratton's move, so can't use it now because it's
<v Speaker 1>her move. But instead of giving him an Alabama Slam,
<v Speaker 1>he starts spinning and he gives him an airplane spin
<v Speaker 1>and I'm not sure why. I mean, the airplane spin
<v Speaker 1>spot was always funny to me because you make yourself
<v Speaker 1>just as dizzy. But he gives him an airplane spin
<v Speaker 1>and then Punk just transitioned out of it and back
<v Speaker 1>into the Anacon device. So it was kind of a
<v Speaker 1>stupid spot and I'm not really sure what the point
<v Speaker 1>of that was. But he got out of it. He
<v Speaker 1>drops Punk with the Crossroads. He covered him, Punk kicked out,
<v Speaker 1>and he got a big pot for doing so. So
<v Speaker 1>Now Cody is standing over Punk and he reaches down
<v Speaker 1>to pick him up, and he places Punk on the
<v Speaker 1>top rope and Cody follows him up. Punk, they'll fights
<v Speaker 1>him off, and he back elbows him all the way
<v Speaker 1>down to the map. And then CM Punk is on
<v Speaker 1>the ropes and he's looking back at Cody and I'm like, hmm,
<v Speaker 1>what's he gonna do here? Is he gonna go for
<v Speaker 1>his top rope elbow? I mean, what are we about
<v Speaker 1>to see here? CM Punk, at forty eight years old, decides,
<v Speaker 1>you know what, you know what I've never done in
<v Speaker 1>my career. You know, this would be a really good
<v Speaker 1>time to debut a new move off the top rope. Now,
<v Speaker 1>I could sit here and lie to you and tell
<v Speaker 1>you that, oh, CM Punk went or a spiral tap,
<v Speaker 1>or he went for a fucking phoenix splash, and that
<v Speaker 1>would have been pretty crazy. This was just as crazy, though.
<v Speaker 1>He went for a moon salt. Now. The closest thing
<v Speaker 1>I could compare it to is when Terry Funk would
<v Speaker 1>do those moon salts and they were kind of crooked,
<v Speaker 1>like they never looked pretty right, but he would hit them. Cempunk.
<v Speaker 1>I guess maybe he went for his own vert because
<v Speaker 1>we know he's a big Terry Funk fan. He went
<v Speaker 1>for his own version, I guess, of a Terry Funk
<v Speaker 1>moon salt. It was very clear to me that he
<v Speaker 1>had never even tried this with like a crash pad
<v Speaker 1>or anything like that. I mean, it wouldn't shock me
<v Speaker 1>if right before they went out there he's like, Hey,
<v Speaker 1>you know what, I think I'm gonna try a moon salt. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>he almost killed Cody on the way down. Cody was
<v Speaker 1>able to like narrowly avoid Punk landing on top of
<v Speaker 1>his head. That's how far off the mark Punk was.
<v Speaker 1>And even in doing the moon salt. Like I when
<v Speaker 1>I tell you that he did a moon salt, in
<v Speaker 1>your head, you probably picked him doing a moon salt
<v Speaker 1>and just missing. No. I can't even describe to you
<v Speaker 1>like the direction that his body went in as he
<v Speaker 1>attempted this move. It was the worst moon salt that
<v Speaker 1>I have ever seen in my entire life. I've never
<v Speaker 1>seen it, truly, I cannot, off the top of my
<v Speaker 1>head remember ever in my life seeing a moon salt
<v Speaker 1>worse than this. And I use that word moonsalt very lightly,
<v Speaker 1>by the way, I'm not sure what else to call it.
<v Speaker 1>If I don't call it a moon salt, I wouldn't
<v Speaker 1>even know what else to call it. But yes, he
<v Speaker 1>nearly killed himself. He nearly killed Cody. I'm sure his
<v Speaker 1>life flashed before his eyes. The first thing I thought
<v Speaker 1>of was the Bart Simpson meme, right with the birthday cake.
<v Speaker 1>At least you tried. At least you tried. I wish
<v Speaker 1>he hadn't. That's a very dumb thing for him to try.
<v Speaker 1>It's like Seth Rollins a crown jewel last year, Seth
<v Speaker 1>Rollins of the World Heavyweight Champion, and he's wrestling Cody
<v Speaker 1>and he's like, he's going to do a coast to
<v Speaker 1>coast but it's not enough to do a regular coast
<v Speaker 1>to coast drop kick. He has to do a coast
<v Speaker 1>to coast headbutt, which sounds really fucking stupid because you're
<v Speaker 1>really putting yourself in danger when you land, and just
<v Speaker 1>you got to brace yourself just the right way. And
<v Speaker 1>so what did he do? He landed on his shoulder.
<v Speaker 1>He blew shoulder out. Now you have to vacate the championship.
<v Speaker 1>You're out for months. Storylines go out the window. WrestleMania
<v Speaker 1>this year would have looked very different had seth not
<v Speaker 1>gotten hurt all because he had to do a move
<v Speaker 1>that I've never seen him do before, and Punk's even
<v Speaker 1>older than him. Don't do that again. The unk Salt?
<v Speaker 1>Is that what you could call it? The unk salt?
<v Speaker 1>A cartwheel off the top? Yeah, a sidewinder. He's lucky
<v Speaker 1>he didn't hurt himself. I mean, seriously, you're the fucking champion, dude.
<v Speaker 1>The entire brand is now built around cm Punk. Let
<v Speaker 1>me go do a moon stone. My grandmother could do
<v Speaker 1>a better moon salt than him, Okay, and she's been
<v Speaker 1>dead for twenty five years. Don't do that again. So
<v Speaker 1>then there was a GTS attempt and he nailed it,
<v Speaker 1>but Punk hurt his knee on the on the landing right,
<v Speaker 1>he Cody's head collided with Punk's left knee, which is
<v Speaker 1>the knee that was being worked over earlier, so took
<v Speaker 1>him a few extra seconds, but he crawled over to
<v Speaker 1>make the cover, and when he did, Cody kicked out
<v Speaker 1>and Cody rolled out to the floor and Punk followed
<v Speaker 1>him outside. He bounces him off the Spanish announced desk
<v Speaker 1>a few times, and Punk then clears off the desk.
<v Speaker 1>He climbs on top of it. Cody, though, sweeps the
<v Speaker 1>lake and then he sends Punk very weakly into the ring.
<v Speaker 1>Steps Cody suddenly realized that, like he hears Charles Robinson
<v Speaker 1>is up to like eight. He's like, oh shit, So
<v Speaker 1>he rolls into the ring very quickly to break break
<v Speaker 1>the count, and then he rolls back out to the
<v Speaker 1>floor or he takes a part the English announced desk,
<v Speaker 1>but he rolls Punk back into the ring instead, and
<v Speaker 1>when Cody follows him in, Punk hoists him up for
<v Speaker 1>another GTS and he covers him and Punk grabs the
<v Speaker 1>bottom rope to save the match. So back out to
<v Speaker 1>the floor they go. Punk lays him flat on top
<v Speaker 1>of the announced desk and then he turns and he
<v Speaker 1>stares at the top rope and I'm like, did you
<v Speaker 1>not learn your lesson after the fucking moon salt that
<v Speaker 1>we just saw? So he thinks he's Logan Paul now
<v Speaker 1>and he goes into the ring. I think he did
<v Speaker 1>this to Roman at WrestleMania. The one thing I look,
<v Speaker 1>you got to say this about Punk, Okay, all due credit,
<v Speaker 1>he doesn't hold back in these matches. It would be
<v Speaker 1>very easy for him to just play it safe and
<v Speaker 1>don't do anything too risky, right, because just coast on
<v Speaker 1>my name and people look at a cheer for me
<v Speaker 1>no matter what I do. But he's out there doing
<v Speaker 1>fucking moon salts. He's doing diving elbows from the top
<v Speaker 1>rope through the announced desk. He's tempting fate every time
<v Speaker 1>he does this, but he certainly doesn't hold back. So
<v Speaker 1>he climbs up to the top rope and he dives
<v Speaker 1>for the elbow. Cody, though, rolls off the desk and
<v Speaker 1>Punk took this horrible bump just crashing through the desk.
<v Speaker 1>He took it mostly knees first, which I think was
<v Speaker 1>the idea because Michael Cole on commentary just wouldn't shut
<v Speaker 1>up now, like, oh, he landed on the bad knee.
<v Speaker 1>He landed on the bad knee, even though he really
<v Speaker 1>landed on the right knee more so than the left one.
<v Speaker 1>But I guess he had that in his notes, So
<v Speaker 1>that was the idea anyway, that he landed on the
<v Speaker 1>bad knee. But I mean, that was just it was
<v Speaker 1>just a fucking terrible landing. It looked like it sucked.
<v Speaker 1>So Cody very quickly gets him back in the ring
<v Speaker 1>and he goes for a super Cody cutter. Punk, though,
<v Speaker 1>moves out of the way and Cody collides with Charles Robinson.
<v Speaker 1>Poor little nature. How old is he now? God, he's
<v Speaker 1>been around forever. He's great. He's got to be at
<v Speaker 1>least sixty though, mid sixties, maybe got to be around
<v Speaker 1>sixty ish. He'll always be a little nature to me though,
<v Speaker 1>no matter how old he gets. So I don't know
<v Speaker 1>if the idea was that Cody was going to like
<v Speaker 1>drop him with the cutter. He didn't really hit him
<v Speaker 1>with the cutter. He just sort of collided with him,
<v Speaker 1>and that's really all he needed to do. And so
<v Speaker 1>down goes Charles Robinson. Punk then gets Cody yup for
<v Speaker 1>another go to sleep Cody. He hits it. Cody staggers
<v Speaker 1>backwards into the ropes, bounces off and just falls back
<v Speaker 1>on top of punk shoulders. So he's going to go
<v Speaker 1>for another GTS this time, though, Cody slips out and
<v Speaker 1>he hits the crossroads and Punk rolls out to the floor.
<v Speaker 1>He's got the presence of mind to roll out to
<v Speaker 1>the floor. We have he's sixty two sixty one, all right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>he's somewhere in that ring. Robinson is either sixty one
<v Speaker 1>or sixty two. God bless him, man, he's still out
<v Speaker 1>there doing it. Truly, one of the nice guys in wrestling.
<v Speaker 1>You will not find anyone to say a bad word
<v Speaker 1>about him. Yeah. What I also think is cool about
<v Speaker 1>Charles Robinson. He is a big collector of horror memorabilia.
<v Speaker 1>He's got like a bunch of it in his basement,
<v Speaker 1>and I think that's pretty cool. I think he and
<v Speaker 1>I would get along very well. Would love to say
<v Speaker 1>I would love to see what his collection looks like.
<v Speaker 1>But Punk rolls out to the floor, So you knew
<v Speaker 1>something was about to go down because the ref got bumped.
<v Speaker 1>Punk just rolled out to the floor, and here's Randy Orton.
<v Speaker 1>I know why I sounded like meat Loaf there for
<v Speaker 1>a second. Randy Orton that still lives rent free in
<v Speaker 1>my head. God, when Meatloaf was unraw. Randy Orton hits
<v Speaker 1>the ring. The reports were true. Is anybody gonna give
<v Speaker 1>Uncle Dave credit for that? Of course not. But he
<v Speaker 1>gets into the ring, Cody turns around and Randy Orton
<v Speaker 1>drops him with an RKO out of nowhere, and then
<v Speaker 1>Orton looks into the hardcam when he gets up, gives
<v Speaker 1>it a little wink and then he slips out of
<v Speaker 1>the ring and back into the crowd and Charles Robinson
<v Speaker 1>rolls back into the ring. CM Punk rolls back into
<v Speaker 1>the ring none the wiser. He has no idea what
<v Speaker 1>just happened. He didn't see any of this and gts
<v Speaker 1>to Cody covers him. Here comes Robinson one two and three,
<v Speaker 1>and CM Punk retains the World Heavyweight Champion or the
<v Speaker 1>w W Championship. I should say, got my titles mixed up.
<v Speaker 1>You know, Punk was the World Heavyweight Champion earlier this year.
<v Speaker 1>So what we ended up with here, no post match angle,
<v Speaker 1>which was a little surprising obviously, no turn, no heel
<v Speaker 1>turn for Cody or anybody. Really the match itself, it
<v Speaker 1>started out very slow, but it built nicely and the
<v Speaker 1>crowd really locked in there for that final stretch. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know how long it was. I mean the final
<v Speaker 1>like five or six minutes at least. They were really
<v Speaker 1>locked in. They were hanging on to the near falls. Again. Punk,
<v Speaker 1>he just threw it all out there, man, that moon salt,
<v Speaker 1>the diving elbow Cody. I guess Cody really didn't do
<v Speaker 1>anything two out of the ordinary, and they ended up
<v Speaker 1>having a good match. It really did feel like the
<v Speaker 1>first It felt like they were holding back in some respects.
<v Speaker 1>Even though they went thirty minutes or almost thirty minutes,
<v Speaker 1>it was still the first match, and you have to
<v Speaker 1>imagine they're going to run this back at least one
<v Speaker 1>more time. I don't know if it'll end up being
<v Speaker 1>a whole series where they do three or four of them,
<v Speaker 1>or if we're not going to see this again until
<v Speaker 1>WrestleMania in Saudi next year, right, and they just sort
<v Speaker 1>of get away from it for a while, which I
<v Speaker 1>think is very possible because obviously, you know, we have
<v Speaker 1>Cody taking the loss here, which is the right outcome.
<v Speaker 1>By the way, there is a very real thing called
<v Speaker 1>Cody fatigue. I know many of you have been feeling
<v Speaker 1>it already for many months, even before I started feeling it,
<v Speaker 1>and now a lot more people are feeling it. And
<v Speaker 1>it's good to have a break from him as the champion.
<v Speaker 1>He doesn't need the belt. Cody's already a made guy
<v Speaker 1>in this company. He finished his story. He's been the
<v Speaker 1>champion three or four times now, and it's okay to
<v Speaker 1>I mean, he'll still be He'll always be in the mix.
<v Speaker 1>You know, he's not going to be feuding with Baron
<v Speaker 1>Corbin in the mid card, but he doesn't need the title.
<v Speaker 1>You know, there's just a sameness to it after a while.
<v Speaker 1>He's not stone cold Steve Austin at the height of
<v Speaker 1>his popularity in the Attitude era, where you can get
<v Speaker 1>away with keeping the belt on him because he's super
<v Speaker 1>over even someone like him. Rock At Austin, they never
<v Speaker 1>had any long title reigns. They were constantly being beaten
<v Speaker 1>and having the title taken away from them and being screwed.
<v Speaker 1>Because the money is in the chase, and so if
<v Speaker 1>the fans want to see Cody chase for the belt,
<v Speaker 1>they'll let you know that. Right now, the crowds, they're
<v Speaker 1>not responding the same way to Cody as they wore
<v Speaker 1>six months ago. You can hear it. You can hear
<v Speaker 1>it each week on SmackDown, right, he gets cheered, but
<v Speaker 1>it's not like as vociferously as it might have been
<v Speaker 1>a year ago. And now Punk is the new guy
<v Speaker 1>on SmackDown. He's going to be your top babyface. Now.
<v Speaker 1>Cody now moves into a non title feud seemingly with
<v Speaker 1>Randy Orton, And as far as my thoughts on that,
<v Speaker 1>as I said earlier, they did a lot of damage
<v Speaker 1>for me anyway, as someone who is really looking forward
<v Speaker 1>to that match or wrestle many of this year. The
<v Speaker 1>whole inclusion of McAfee and the departure from the whole
<v Speaker 1>just departure from what the story was supposed to be
<v Speaker 1>to what they ended up doing, really soured me on it.
<v Speaker 1>But now months have gone by, McAfee is a distant memory,
<v Speaker 1>and they're gonna try again with Cody and Randy. They're
<v Speaker 1>gonna pick things back up. They're going to resume things.
<v Speaker 1>I understand it because the way they left it the
<v Speaker 1>last time we saw Orton, he kicked this guy in
<v Speaker 1>the head. He punted him in the head. So why
<v Speaker 1>wouldn't Cody want to go after him. Now he's been
<v Speaker 1>given a really good reason to because Randy just fucked
<v Speaker 1>him out of the championship. So you're gonna go off
<v Speaker 1>and do that non title which I think is fine.
<v Speaker 1>And then as far as punk again, he name dropped
<v Speaker 1>a whole bunch of people on the show a few
<v Speaker 1>weeks ago that he would love to get in the
<v Speaker 1>ring with and defend the title against, almost like little
<v Speaker 1>side quests. He was just had a segment on SmackDown
<v Speaker 1>last night in the bag with Trick Williams. You know
<v Speaker 1>they were teasing that at some point you could do that.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna get a number one contenders match tomorrow. It's
<v Speaker 1>gonna be Balor or Sammy. I would imagine that's going
<v Speaker 1>to lead to a television match. So you can have
<v Speaker 1>Punk doing other things in the meantime, and then there's
<v Speaker 1>Kevin Owens. I hope Kevin Owens is on some back
<v Speaker 1>down when he comes back, and I would love for
<v Speaker 1>them to build something with punkin Owens. I would love it.
<v Speaker 1>I think Kevin Owens fans would end up being very
<v Speaker 1>disappointed if they don't put the belt on him. They
<v Speaker 1>feel like kind of like Ballor where so many years
<v Speaker 1>have gone by, and I mean, I guess there's a
<v Speaker 1>lot of similarities between them really because Baalor was never
<v Speaker 1>WWE champion, he was Universal champion. Kevin Owens was never
<v Speaker 1>WWE champion, he was Universal champion, and then all these
<v Speaker 1>years have gone by. Actually Kevin Owens only became the
<v Speaker 1>Universal Champion because Finn Baalor got hurt. Holy shit, I
<v Speaker 1>forgot about that. So here we are ten years later.
<v Speaker 1>People have been clamoring for a Kevin Owens title run.
<v Speaker 1>It's not fair. How come Ko can't get a run right? Well?
<v Speaker 1>Who knows? Maybe now he can, you know, maybe you
<v Speaker 1>do an extended feud with him in CMPUNK. I hope
<v Speaker 1>we get to see that match, I really do. Do
<v Speaker 1>we see Owens pop up tomorrow night during Night two? Possible?
<v Speaker 1>But I mean in what way though? What would he
<v Speaker 1>be doing on the show? You know, maybe he comes back.
<v Speaker 1>He's not going to go after Punk right away, let's say,
<v Speaker 1>but like, who would he be working with? Who would
<v Speaker 1>he be feuding with on SmackDown? Would he tie in
<v Speaker 1>with Sammy's ain in some way? I don't know. We
<v Speaker 1>saw Orton tonight, we could see Owens tomorrow. I just
<v Speaker 1>don't know where he really I don't know where he
<v Speaker 1>really fits into the picture with the people who were
<v Speaker 1>on that show tomorrow unless he's on Raw, unless they
<v Speaker 1>move him to Raw. Maybe we see him after the
<v Speaker 1>Roman and Seth match, but I don't see that. I
<v Speaker 1>don't see that. And let's not forget Drew McIntyre is
<v Speaker 1>also still, you know, on his way back soon. I
<v Speaker 1>can't imagine they put orton Owens and McIntyre all on SmackDown,
<v Speaker 1>plus he already got Cody and Punk. I mean, I'd
<v Speaker 1>be pretty pissed if I was Netflix. You would think
<v Speaker 1>one of them would have to end up on Raw,
<v Speaker 1>you know, maybe Drew. But then we had the main event,
<v Speaker 1>which was brock Lesner in his home state of Minnesota.
<v Speaker 1>Actually I say home state. He wasn't born in Minnesota,
<v Speaker 1>but went to college and wrestled in Minnesota. He is
<v Speaker 1>forever linked to the state of Minnesota. I think he
<v Speaker 1>was a Gopher. Was he a Gopher? I think he was.
<v Speaker 1>I'm pretty sure he was because I think he and
<v Speaker 1>Shelton they went to school together, and I know Shelton
<v Speaker 1>Benjamin was a Gopher. Anyway, brock Lesner back home against
<v Speaker 1>Oba Femi and this was contested inside helen a Cell.
<v Speaker 1>This was only the second helen a cell match in
<v Speaker 1>Summer Slam history, the first one being Undertaker and Edge
<v Speaker 1>eighteen years ago. Oba was out to the ring first.
<v Speaker 1>Can't be the only one who looks at that necklace
<v Speaker 1>around his neck and notices that it seems to be
<v Speaker 1>getting bigger every time he comes out here for a match.
<v Speaker 1>Tony Chevanni says. Hometown of Minnesota, ah Tony Yes, Tony Schevanni,
<v Speaker 1>who on Wednesdays Dynamite said that Androte was going to
<v Speaker 1>have a match in his hometown of Mexico. That's what
<v Speaker 1>he said. His hometown of Mexico A big town. That's
<v Speaker 1>a very big town. Brocklesner came out. First thing I
<v Speaker 1>noticed about Brock when he came out with Hayman, he
<v Speaker 1>had elbow pads on. And I realized, I said, I
<v Speaker 1>don't think I've seen Brockolesner wearing elbowpads since his first
<v Speaker 1>run in like two thousand and four. So I immediately
<v Speaker 1>thought he must be wearing them for a reason, like
<v Speaker 1>they must have something, some big spot planned and he
<v Speaker 1>wants to protect his elbow or something. But yeah, he
<v Speaker 1>looked weird. He looked a little weird wearing elbow pads.
<v Speaker 1>Michael Cole on commentary gave a shout out to his
<v Speaker 1>old partner Taz, and he dropped the line here comes
<v Speaker 1>the pain when Brock came out. So that was kind
<v Speaker 1>of cool. Cole and Taz, by the way, very underrated,
<v Speaker 1>announced duo. So we have the entrances and then they
<v Speaker 1>finally lowered the cell. The cell was like halfway down.
<v Speaker 1>They waited until after they were both in the ring.
<v Speaker 1>They did the end ring intros, and then they finally
<v Speaker 1>lowered it and everything here. It just took forever. The
<v Speaker 1>bell sounded to start the match. It was eight point
<v Speaker 1>fifty one PM, a good twenty five minutes had passed
<v Speaker 1>since the end of the last match. So Brock out
<v Speaker 1>of the gate here one German suplex, two Germans, three Germans.
<v Speaker 1>But Oba bounces right up to his feet and he
<v Speaker 1>clos those lines. Brock out over the top to the floor.
<v Speaker 1>Not a lot of room there between the cage and
<v Speaker 1>the ring, but again in a hell and a cell
<v Speaker 1>met you can obviously brawl outside the ring. So Lesner
<v Speaker 1>ends up sending him shoulder first into the steel steps,
<v Speaker 1>and he tried to supplex Oba on the floor, just
<v Speaker 1>a regular supplex, not a German. Oba stuffed it. He
<v Speaker 1>ended up superplexing Brock on the floor, and then he
<v Speaker 1>sent Lesner into the steps. Oba pulls out a slim
<v Speaker 1>gym table and he props it up against the side
<v Speaker 1>of the cell, which, now that I think about it,
<v Speaker 1>this may have been the only spot technically in the
<v Speaker 1>match to actually make use of the cell. And they
<v Speaker 1>weren't even really making use of the cell. I mean
<v Speaker 1>they were making use of the table more than they
<v Speaker 1>were the cell. But he props the table up against
<v Speaker 1>the cell. He goes back and actually he throws Brock
<v Speaker 1>into the table. So Brock crashes through the table. He
<v Speaker 1>gets Brock back into the ring and Lesner hits Oba
<v Speaker 1>with three straight shots with the steel steps. I didn't
<v Speaker 1>even notice that he put the steps in the ring
<v Speaker 1>hits him, and he hits him hard too, three straight
<v Speaker 1>times with the ring steps right in the skull. Then
<v Speaker 1>we got a fourth German. We got a fifth German.
<v Speaker 1>The Welts were showing on Lesner's pale body. Now Brock
<v Speaker 1>takes a chair right to Oba's back and then he
<v Speaker 1>hits him again. And at this point I just wrote
<v Speaker 1>in my notes, I just noticed the fucking chare has
<v Speaker 1>a wingstop ad on it. This is the first time
<v Speaker 1>I noticed this. Now they have branded chairs on this show.
<v Speaker 1>There's just there's no end. There's no end to it.
<v Speaker 1>We have the fireball ladder, we have the slim gym table,
<v Speaker 1>we have the wingstop chair. What's next. We're gonna get
<v Speaker 1>branding on the ring steps. It's inevitable. We'll have the
<v Speaker 1>KFC steps. They could put something on the ring bell.
<v Speaker 1>Perhaps they could put ads on the lids of the
<v Speaker 1>announced desks. I don't think they've done ads on there yet,
<v Speaker 1>but they put other logos on there. We'll have that right.
<v Speaker 1>We already have ads on the ring posts, we have
<v Speaker 1>ads on the mat, we have ads on the the
<v Speaker 1>led barricades. Actually, during the Cody match, they had a
<v Speaker 1>street fighter ad on there. What other objects can they brand? Unbelievable?
<v Speaker 1>Panda Express Kendo sticks. Oh, it's only a matter of time.
<v Speaker 1>You give it time, give it time. Fucking wingstop chairs.
<v Speaker 1>You have got to be kidding me. Now, the Calshi
<v Speaker 1>Kendo sticks. I like that. That's better. So Brock went
<v Speaker 1>for an F five. Oba countered out and he caught
<v Speaker 1>Brock coming off the ropes into a giant choke slane.
<v Speaker 1>We got a brief double down here. Then they repeated
<v Speaker 1>the same spot with the F five attempt. Oba slips
<v Speaker 1>out and delivers a chokesla. I don't know why they
<v Speaker 1>redid that again. I don't really understand that. But he
<v Speaker 1>picks up Brock, he beels him. He didn't beel him
<v Speaker 1>the way that he bealed. JD McDonogh on TV the
<v Speaker 1>other week. But you know, he threw Brock and then
<v Speaker 1>he was setting up for a fall from grace and
<v Speaker 1>he popped Brock up into the air and he dropped him,
<v Speaker 1>and Brock kicked out at two, which I believe makes
<v Speaker 1>him the first person to kick out of the fall
<v Speaker 1>from grace. I don't remember if he kicked out of
<v Speaker 1>one in Italy Clash in Italy, I don't remember. I
<v Speaker 1>think this was the first time. So then he followed
<v Speaker 1>that with an F five and then a second F five.
<v Speaker 1>Oba staggers back up to his feet into a third
<v Speaker 1>F five. There's the cover. Oba kicks out, So Brock
<v Speaker 1>goes back to the wingstop chair for more shots to
<v Speaker 1>the back. He bends the chair across Oba's back, and
<v Speaker 1>now Brock starts ripping up the canvas, and then he
<v Speaker 1>pulls up the padding underneath the canvas to expose the
<v Speaker 1>wooden boards, the wooden the support beams, the boards underneath.
<v Speaker 1>And so now we know why this match went on last.
<v Speaker 1>You can't rip up the ring and then send the
<v Speaker 1>main event out to the ring. This has to be
<v Speaker 1>the main event. So this is at least one of
<v Speaker 1>the reasons why this match went on last Brock gets
<v Speaker 1>him up for another F five. It's gonna give him
<v Speaker 1>an F five on the boards. As he's holding Oba
<v Speaker 1>up in the air, Brock looks straight ahead into the camera.
<v Speaker 1>He does the Undertaker throat slash, and then he maneuvers
<v Speaker 1>Oba into position for a tombstone pile driver, and he
<v Speaker 1>delivers a tombstone pile driver onto the exposed boards, and
<v Speaker 1>then he crosses Oba's arms and he sticks his tongue
<v Speaker 1>out and he does the Undertaker pin and Oba kicks out.
<v Speaker 1>Oba kicked out of an Undertaker tombstone from brock lesner
<v Speaker 1>onto the wooden beams. Look at that he kicked out.
<v Speaker 1>He kicked out of a tombstone on the wooden boards.
<v Speaker 1>I guess this was like Brock's tribute to the one
<v Speaker 1>man he's ever wrestled inside Hell and a cell. The
<v Speaker 1>only two cell matches Brock ever had coming into tonight
<v Speaker 1>were both with the Undertaker, So I guess that was
<v Speaker 1>his little tribute tribute to the aew Nosa. Yes, it's
<v Speaker 1>very possible that's what it was. This was Brock his
<v Speaker 1>little redemption tribute for the pay per view last week
<v Speaker 1>and all the kickouts we got on that show. So
<v Speaker 1>Brock grabs the chair, he gets it punched back into
<v Speaker 1>his face, and then Oba hits the fall from Grace.
<v Speaker 1>Not on the boards though, and I'm watching this, I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>did he not intend to do it on the boards.
<v Speaker 1>But I'm pretty sure Brock at one point I thought
<v Speaker 1>I saw him kind of glance back at the boards
<v Speaker 1>as if he was like making sure he was in
<v Speaker 1>the right position. Oba hit the fall from Grace and
<v Speaker 1>it was not on the boards. So my guess is
<v Speaker 1>that the intent was to do it on the boards,
<v Speaker 1>and they just missed, and he just dropped him on
<v Speaker 1>the mat. But then he pinned him one two three. Now,
<v Speaker 1>on the one hand, I'm glad that Brock only kicked
<v Speaker 1>out of his finisher once, right, I mean, I it
<v Speaker 1>would have sucked to see him kick out of it
<v Speaker 1>for a second time. But like it just ended, and
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, that's it. That's like, we're barely twelve minutes.
<v Speaker 1>We're like eleven minutes and fifty something. I timed it
<v Speaker 1>on my phone. I was curious how long this match
<v Speaker 1>was gonna go. Eleven minutes and fifty three seconds is
<v Speaker 1>what it came out to here for this main event,
<v Speaker 1>they were done. Now. The bell rang at eight fifty one.
<v Speaker 1>The match was done by nine oh three, and my
<v Speaker 1>first I had a lot of thoughts going through my
<v Speaker 1>head when this was over. My first thought was this
<v Speaker 1>did not need hell in a cell. Now, my guess
<v Speaker 1>is the reason they did it is because Brock was
<v Speaker 1>undefeated in the cell. And it's another notch in the
<v Speaker 1>cap of Oba Femi to be able to say that
<v Speaker 1>he not only beat Brocklesnar twice, but he became the
<v Speaker 1>first man and only man ever to beat him inside
<v Speaker 1>hell in his cell. And that sounds all impressive and shit.
<v Speaker 1>But at the end of the day, I'm watching this
<v Speaker 1>match and I'm expecting to see something special from these two.
<v Speaker 1>You've told us that this is going to be inside
<v Speaker 1>the cell. These men have been trying to get at
<v Speaker 1>each other in the worst way. Like Oba on Monday night. Man,
<v Speaker 1>he couldn't get to Brock because the cage was between them.
<v Speaker 1>He wanted to tear this man to shreds. And I'm expecting, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>there's a reason why this is a cell match. That's
<v Speaker 1>going to be all kinds of chaos. Something's going to happen.
<v Speaker 1>They had a regular fucking match. Like we see plunder
<v Speaker 1>matches on TV all the time, kendo sticks and chairs
<v Speaker 1>and ladders and stairs. We didn't see anything out of
<v Speaker 1>the ordinary when we saw punkin MacIntyre. They got blood
<v Speaker 1>in that match that made that match unique. In this match,
<v Speaker 1>there was nothing. There was nothing out of the ordinary
<v Speaker 1>that you could not have done in any typical notice
<v Speaker 1>qualification match or if you wanted to do a last
<v Speaker 1>man standing match. The cell served no purpose in terms
<v Speaker 1>of the match. Okay, forget them being able to say,
<v Speaker 1>oh but be probably who gives a shit As far
<v Speaker 1>as hell and a cell matches go, one of the
<v Speaker 1>more underwhelming ones that you will ever see. I can't
<v Speaker 1>say it's the worst hell in a cell match they've
<v Speaker 1>ever done. It wasn't a bad match. It just it
<v Speaker 1>didn't serve any purpose, which I think is the worst
<v Speaker 1>thing that you could say about a hell and a
<v Speaker 1>cell match when the cage doesn't even really come into
<v Speaker 1>play and you're left saying, Wow, this really didn't need
<v Speaker 1>to be a hell and a cell match. It's not
<v Speaker 1>a bad match, but it's a bad hell and a
<v Speaker 1>cell match. It didn't make use of the cell. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>you don't have to climb up to the tippy top.
<v Speaker 1>But my god, you know, the cell is its own
<v Speaker 1>like living, breathing thing. It's like the third man out there,
<v Speaker 1>and it just never came into play. So that's number one.
<v Speaker 1>Number two, the match was just getting good, it was
<v Speaker 1>just about to kick into high gear, and then it ended.
<v Speaker 1>You could have gotten another four or five minutes or
<v Speaker 1>three or four minutes out of this match, right, they
<v Speaker 1>would have had to come up with some other big
<v Speaker 1>spot to do instead of doing the same shit over
<v Speaker 1>and over again, because honestly, how many more times are
<v Speaker 1>they going to kick out of an F five or
<v Speaker 1>a fucking fall from grace? But it's like that's that's
<v Speaker 1>all they had in mind here, and then it's like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, wham bam, thank you ma'am, And that's all
<v Speaker 1>she wrote. And I was just very underwhelmed when it
<v Speaker 1>was over. I'm glad Oba won, but I had higher
<v Speaker 1>expectations for this and this did not meet those expectations, unfortunately.
<v Speaker 1>And when I saw they were putting it in the
<v Speaker 1>main event and only reinforced my thought that they must
<v Speaker 1>have something planned here. I guess what they had planned
<v Speaker 1>was brock ripping up the canvas ooh, okay, I'm sorry
<v Speaker 1>that's not enough. So you got an eleven minute you know,
<v Speaker 1>plunder match for your main event. Oba wins, which was
<v Speaker 1>the predictable outcome. It was the right outcome. And they
<v Speaker 1>have the closing credits, Paul Levec leaf fitting like they're
<v Speaker 1>going off the air. But we're not done yet because
<v Speaker 1>Brock and Hayman they come back down to the ring.
<v Speaker 1>Right the music stops, They climb into the ring. Broc
<v Speaker 1>goes over and he hugs Oba and then he raises
<v Speaker 1>his arm and then he asks for the microphone, and
<v Speaker 1>he said, Minnesota and the whole wide world watching this
<v Speaker 1>shit tonight. This is the future of WWE goes, come here,
<v Speaker 1>Oba goes, congratulations. He goes, this is the past, and
<v Speaker 1>he points to himself and then he points at Oba
<v Speaker 1>and he goes, this is the future. And I believe
<v Speaker 1>I spied Paul Haman also shaking hands with Oba Femi.
<v Speaker 1>We don't necessarily need to read too much into that, right,
<v Speaker 1>Brock shook his hands, so did Hayman. But if Brock
<v Speaker 1>is going away for a while, it could open up.
<v Speaker 1>And people have floated this idea that you know, it
<v Speaker 1>could open up. Paul Hayman to you know, take on
<v Speaker 1>Oba Femi as his newest client, to which I would
<v Speaker 1>say it's not needed. Oba is doing just fine on
<v Speaker 1>his own without having to, you know, work Paul Hayman
<v Speaker 1>into everything. I mean, you want to do it, you
<v Speaker 1>could do it. I don't think it's going to necessarily
<v Speaker 1>hurt Oba. But Oba comes down to the ring by
<v Speaker 1>himself doing his strut. He can cut a promo on
<v Speaker 1>his own. He doesn't need anybody doing any talking for him.
<v Speaker 1>I don't see where Hayman really brings value that you're
<v Speaker 1>not already getting from this guy. He doesn't need it.
<v Speaker 1>Could they do it? Sure? If Hayman needs a guy,
<v Speaker 1>he doesn't have a Roman anymore. Brock might go away.
<v Speaker 1>He's no longer with the Vision. I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>they're going to keep him with bron Breaker or or
<v Speaker 1>if he's going to be with Bronson Reid when Bronson
<v Speaker 1>Reid comes back, which could be any week now. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know who that next big Paul Hayman guy is.
<v Speaker 1>It's still gonna be bron Breaker. Bron Breaker is in
<v Speaker 1>a real bad way right now. They ain't doing shit
<v Speaker 1>with him, so I don't know who that next big
<v Speaker 1>Hayman guy is gonna be Maybe it's Cody. Maybe Cody
<v Speaker 1>eventually goes heal. I mean him and Cody have been
<v Speaker 1>chummy in the past. I don't know. I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>but I saw I saw the handshake and people have
<v Speaker 1>mentioned that before. What maybe maybe Paul switches and he
<v Speaker 1>goes with Oba. Yeah, I just why, Right, That's what
<v Speaker 1>John Cena talked about on this new season of Unreal. Right,
<v Speaker 1>you gotta figure out your why. What's the why? Why?
<v Speaker 1>Why would why would Oba need Hayman to get a
<v Speaker 1>title shot? He already had one. He gave it up.
<v Speaker 1>Oba Femei, by the way, had a guaranteed World Championship
<v Speaker 1>match on this show, and he gave it up willingly
<v Speaker 1>for an eleven minute match to beat Brocko Lesnar, which
<v Speaker 1>he already did at WrestleMania. I hope it was worth it.
<v Speaker 1>I hope it was worth it because they were sure
<v Speaker 1>talking about it like it was just it was gone.
<v Speaker 1>But he'll win the Royal Rumble, he'll go to WrestleMania,
<v Speaker 1>he'll probably win the belt next year. You know, it's
<v Speaker 1>not like he's not going to be the champion, but
<v Speaker 1>it's kind of funny to me now, like you gave
<v Speaker 1>up a world title match on this show for what
<v Speaker 1>ended up being a very underwhelming match. I don't know
<v Speaker 1>if it was worth it. The endorsement, though, is very cool.
<v Speaker 1>You know, to have somebody like Brock who's been dominant
<v Speaker 1>for so long, he's been positioned to the top of
<v Speaker 1>the food chain, when he goes in there and he
<v Speaker 1>gives you the big handshake, gets on the mic and says, look,
<v Speaker 1>I'm the old guy, you're the young guy. I'm the past,
<v Speaker 1>you're the present or the future. Yeah, that means something.
<v Speaker 1>So it was nice to get that endorsement there at
<v Speaker 1>the end. The show overall a very mixed bag. There
<v Speaker 1>were some good things on the show. There were some
<v Speaker 1>very underwhelming things on the show. So it was very
<v Speaker 1>middle of the road. I would say it was a
<v Speaker 1>solid six out of ten, you know, somewhere in that range.
<v Speaker 1>Not great, but not terrible. Now we have Night two,
<v Speaker 1>which was not as strong on paper. This is what
<v Speaker 1>the Night two lineup looks like for tomorrow. We have
<v Speaker 1>Sammy z Ain and Finn Balor number one contenders match
<v Speaker 1>for the WWE Championship. I'm going with Baler in that match.
<v Speaker 1>Trick Williams and Baron Corbin for the United States Championship.
<v Speaker 1>I'm going with Corbin to win the title. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 1>take a flyer on him. Dan Hausen in a human
<v Speaker 1>money He's on a pole. Match is going to wrestle
<v Speaker 1>Dominic Mysterio. Anything but Dominic Mysterio winning this match, it
<v Speaker 1>would be fucking ridiculous. We have the Interim Women's Championship
<v Speaker 1>ladder match Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratt and Chelsea
<v Speaker 1>Green and Lash Legend. Call me crazy, I'm going with
<v Speaker 1>Lash Legend to win the title. Penta defends his Intercontinental
<v Speaker 1>Championship against Chad Gable. Remember one job, they have one
<v Speaker 1>job tomorrow. This should be very easy. And we have
<v Speaker 1>Roman Reigns against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship,
<v Speaker 1>and I expect that to be a win for Roman Reigns.
<v Speaker 1>We could put this shield stuff to bed once and
<v Speaker 1>for all fourteen years of this shit. It all comes
<v Speaker 1>to an end tomorrow night. Somebody said that Oba called
<v Speaker 1>out Punk on the post show. So is Oba gonna
<v Speaker 1>be like brock in that he's not really attached to
<v Speaker 1>a brand. He's like a big enough attraction on the
<v Speaker 1>show that he could just bounce around wherever he wants
<v Speaker 1>to go. That's interesting. I mean, we could potentially be
<v Speaker 1>looking at Punk and Oba coming up next. I'm okay
<v Speaker 1>with that too. I feel like he would just break
<v Speaker 1>Punk in half if he hit him with a fall
<v Speaker 1>from Grace. Just break. I don't know, though. After tonight,
<v Speaker 1>some of the bumps he took, he kind of came
<v Speaker 1>off as indestructible. I'm surprised he didn't explode into a
<v Speaker 1>pile of ash when some of the bumps he took tonight. Anyway,
<v Speaker 1>that's your night two card for tomorrow. We'll be back
<v Speaker 1>here again. We'll do it all over again tomorrow. We're
<v Speaker 1>not done here yet, but we'll be back for the
<v Speaker 1>full recap tomorrow. And by the way, there's going to
<v Speaker 1>be a full podcast tomorrow as well. When I wake
<v Speaker 1>up in the morning, I'll be recording episode nine to
<v Speaker 1>seventy four of the sound Off, which will include I
<v Speaker 1>got some stuff to say. Oh, it's going to be
<v Speaker 1>an animated morning, I could tell. I got some stuff
<v Speaker 1>to say about Triple H's comments. I'm busted open. This
<v Speaker 1>past week, the Grace and Waller promo that everybody was
<v Speaker 1>raving about from NXT. I'll talk about that and my
<v Speaker 1>Dark Side of the Ring review on the Big boss
<v Speaker 1>Man episode. So all of that is coming up tomorrow.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's take a look at your super chats.
<v Speaker 1>Let's see what you guys thought of Summer Slam, and
<v Speaker 1>I appreciate all the support. Get him on in. We
<v Speaker 1>got a bonus goal going on right now. In the chat,
<v Speaker 1>when is night three? Bruce? Don't get me don't don't,
<v Speaker 1>don't get me started, Bruce, he's talking about night three
<v Speaker 1>of Summer Slim. Don't even get me started, Bruce, a
<v Speaker 1>three night extravaganza. We got Bossmo Jackson with us, solid show.
<v Speaker 1>Night two will out do Night one? Really? Okay? Well,
<v Speaker 1>we got Froed at seventy nine talking about all kinds
<v Speaker 1>of sodas. Here the chat awaits the response under the
<v Speaker 1>solo learning tree. This is what we were talking about
<v Speaker 1>during Summer Slam. Sprite seven up, Sierra mist or Mellow Yellow. Well,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if this is going to disappoint all
<v Speaker 1>of you or not, but I have never drank any
<v Speaker 1>of those four. I think I tried Sprite once and
<v Speaker 1>never again. I was not a sprite guy. I was
<v Speaker 1>not a seven up guy. I don't even I don't
<v Speaker 1>even think I know what mellow yellow is. Terms of soda,
<v Speaker 1>I was a coke and pepsi guy, more so coke.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not really a pepsi fan, but you know, you
<v Speaker 1>go to some of these, like stadiums or movie theaters
<v Speaker 1>and restaurants, sometimes all they have is pepsi, and it's like,
<v Speaker 1>all right, I'll have pepsi. I'm a coke guy. I
<v Speaker 1>like coke clip super Poty was really hoping for Ko
<v Speaker 1>and got Randy instead. Disappointed. I think Punk might not
<v Speaker 1>want to work with Ko. They have real life heat. Brother,
<v Speaker 1>this this is not going to be an issue. They
<v Speaker 1>will work together. They've already done segments together on the show.
<v Speaker 1>Do you think they avoid each other in the hallway backstage?
<v Speaker 1>Dr Pepper, Yeah, Doctor Pepper is another one. I don't
<v Speaker 1>like Doctor Pepper. I don't like any of that sh all.
<v Speaker 1>That shit is fucking terrible for you shouldn't be drinking
<v Speaker 1>any of it. You should not be drinking any of it.
<v Speaker 1>Jack and coke is fine. Jack and coke is acceptable
<v Speaker 1>death side. Honestly, I would rather see a feud between
<v Speaker 1>heel Orton and Babyface punk over the title because Cody
<v Speaker 1>versus McAfee featuring Orton was no good. Yeah, it really
<v Speaker 1>was Cody against McAfee, wasn't it? Holiday one ninety seven
<v Speaker 1>with a ten dollars Australian Oba shit cash in his
<v Speaker 1>King of the Ring reward shot on Roman and money.
<v Speaker 1>He doesn't have it anymore. Brother, I think it's gone.
<v Speaker 1>It's gone. He gave it up. He's not holding on
<v Speaker 1>to it for a rainy day. He gave it away.
<v Speaker 1>It no longer exists. Says it probably won't happen. But
<v Speaker 1>in Oba versus Bronz, Breaker versus Fat two World title manager,
<v Speaker 1>WrestleMania could be good. No, it's not that it probably
<v Speaker 1>won't happen. It won't happen. Would it be good? Though?
<v Speaker 1>Of course it would be good. Donovan d says, can
<v Speaker 1>we go back to the days when one finisher actually
<v Speaker 1>finished a match? Also, Michael Cole needs to go? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Michael Cole and Tony Shiavanni both have just been h
<v Speaker 1>It's not been good lately. It's not been good. Death
<v Speaker 1>Site says the Bellas could say. The only reason that
<v Speaker 1>page was relevant in WWE the first time was because
<v Speaker 1>of fighting with my family. When she came back and
<v Speaker 1>doesn't have that anymore, she tried to leach off of
<v Speaker 1>us brother. I could not possibly care about any feud
<v Speaker 1>involving Page in the Bellows against each other. I just
<v Speaker 1>I don't care. I appreciate you trying to at least
<v Speaker 1>attach some sort of story to it, but it ain't
<v Speaker 1>for me. Punk mentioned that he wants o But to
<v Speaker 1>choose him over Romans, so I don't think it's gone okay,
<v Speaker 1>So they're making it up as they go along. Then
<v Speaker 1>they literally had people on their own podcast. It was
<v Speaker 1>with Sam Roberts Omega Morant talking about it after it happened,
<v Speaker 1>as if he had given it away, Like, they don't
<v Speaker 1>even know what they're doing. They're just making it up
<v Speaker 1>as they go along. So I guess now they're going
<v Speaker 1>back on they're going back on things, and now all
<v Speaker 1>of a sudden, magically Obo will still have the shot. Great,
<v Speaker 1>no one knows what they're doing, he says, I mean
<v Speaker 1>the Bells are heels now, so they would say something
<v Speaker 1>stupid like that. Well, they may not be saying anything
<v Speaker 1>if Bree is going to be out for a while.
<v Speaker 1>The sheltered Kid says, do you think WWE would ever
<v Speaker 1>allow a celebrity to have a five star match if
<v Speaker 1>they were able to, or would they see it as
<v Speaker 1>anyone can do? What do you mean allow them to
<v Speaker 1>have a five star man? What does that even mean?
<v Speaker 1>Allow them to have a five star match? I think
<v Speaker 1>we saw one with Bad Bunny a few years ago,
<v Speaker 1>so the answer is yes, yes they would, But I'm
<v Speaker 1>not even sure how you would define a five star match.
<v Speaker 1>You think they give a shit with Dave Meltzer things.
<v Speaker 1>What kind of five star scale are we talking about here?
<v Speaker 1>Death Site says Oba should win the World Heavyweight Championship
<v Speaker 1>as soon as possible. Don't wait until Wrestle many of
<v Speaker 1>forty three because they did the same thing with Lex
<v Speaker 1>Luger and what happened They wait, dude, are you comparing
<v Speaker 1>Lex Luger and the reaction that he was getting at
<v Speaker 1>that time to Oba Femei and the reactions that he's
<v Speaker 1>been getting. I mean, dude, it's night and Day Brody.
<v Speaker 1>I thought Night one was overall pretty good, aside from
<v Speaker 1>the two to six person tag matches. Main event was great,
<v Speaker 1>he says, a solemn moster, I love your intros to
<v Speaker 1>live streams. They're awesome. Thanks for all that you do. Well,
<v Speaker 1>I have good resources that I'm able to pay for
<v Speaker 1>and pull them from, So no, I'm not sitting here
<v Speaker 1>and creating them myself. I'm not that talented. I do
<v Speaker 1>a lot of the art. I do all the art
<v Speaker 1>now that you see here on the channel, but like
<v Speaker 1>the thumbnails and stuff, but that stuff was a little
<v Speaker 1>above my pay grade. But I'm glad you enjoyed them,
<v Speaker 1>and try to liven things up with some of the intros.
<v Speaker 1>Death Side says Night two, Dan Housen versus Dominic Mysterio
<v Speaker 1>and a human Money's on a Pole match. Yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>would rather travel to the Safari wearing all red and
<v Speaker 1>have my butt impaled by an angry charging rhinoceros. Well,
<v Speaker 1>I wouldn't because that sounds awful. I think you're exaggerating.
<v Speaker 1>Donna Yasu brocks streak may be over, but I will
<v Speaker 1>remind you that Michael Cole's undefeated streak at WrestleMania lives on. Well,
<v Speaker 1>then I guess that'll have to be the next Oba
<v Speaker 1>streak that he conquers. Oba Femi against Michael Cole at
<v Speaker 1>WrestleMania forty three. At least it'll take him out of
<v Speaker 1>the booth for the show, but then we'll just end
<v Speaker 1>up with Joe Tessitur talking about Jade Cargole when she
<v Speaker 1>comes at for her match. Uh, we got two, we
<v Speaker 1>got hey, link Master, thank you, brother boomerang with a ten.
<v Speaker 1>Do you remember when Max said that he pitched the
<v Speaker 1>idea of tearing up the canvas for his Hell and
<v Speaker 1>a Cell match against Seth Rollins that was shot down
<v Speaker 1>by Vince and Triple H. It's not I roll In
<v Speaker 1>due singing for Triple H. Now well, Triple H wanted.
<v Speaker 1>He wanted to save it for either himself or for
<v Speaker 1>someone not named din Ambrose. Wasn't a good idea back then,
<v Speaker 1>but it's a great idea now we have got Chief
<v Speaker 1>running Wolf, says Russo voice Solomon's to Bro, thank you
<v Speaker 1>for suffering through all these wwepls for us Bro. You're welcome, Bro.
<v Speaker 1>It's just wrestling, Bro, It's just wrestling. Nick Grosso, I
<v Speaker 1>don't agree with Live retaining EO should have won, and
<v Speaker 1>the real reason Live one and Rhea kept her title
<v Speaker 1>is because that's the match they want for Crown Jewel.
<v Speaker 1>Who wants to see that in twenty twenty six. Apparently
<v Speaker 1>Paula vec Ragnarock props to WWE for doing literally anything
<v Speaker 1>possible to keep from turning Cody heel. It's actually impressive
<v Speaker 1>at this point. Hats off. They're holding out as long
<v Speaker 1>as they possibly can. Death Sithe. Even though Rock was
<v Speaker 1>champion heading into WrestleMania fifteen, he was nowhere near the
<v Speaker 1>same guy heading into WrestleMania seventeen and made his match
<v Speaker 1>with Stone Cold feel like a first time Well, I
<v Speaker 1>can't disagree with you on that, David says, I like
<v Speaker 1>the Live Morgan match more than the Cody Rhodes match.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think that's like a hot take. I enjoyed
<v Speaker 1>that match too. I thought it was very good. The
<v Speaker 1>Cody and Punk match got what died to get, probably
<v Speaker 1>an extra sixteen or seventeen minutes more. But I also
<v Speaker 1>thought it was very boring for the first portion of it.
<v Speaker 1>I was never bored by Live and EO Alexander with
<v Speaker 1>a four ninety nine says Live Morgan was caught fiddling
<v Speaker 1>with the four leaved clover in a rabbit's foot in
<v Speaker 1>the back before the match. Is that what broke the curse?
<v Speaker 1>So now we know how to break the Danhausen curse.
<v Speaker 1>If only Wemby knew that san Antonio might have won
<v Speaker 1>the championship. Venom Caitetsu says, maybe if Live sported a
<v Speaker 1>Solo Monster shirt, you would be enduring her title reign
<v Speaker 1>much easier. Happy weekend man, thanks for what you do. Cheers.
<v Speaker 1>She's welcome to wear one anytime. I'll send a free
<v Speaker 1>one if she wants one. Maybe I'll shoot a DM
<v Speaker 1>over see if she wants. When she follows me, so
<v Speaker 1>I could DM her now, I'm not gonna bother. I
<v Speaker 1>can only imagine. I can only imagine that kind of
<v Speaker 1>DMS that this poor woman must get. SI guy is
<v Speaker 1>here says thanks for the content. Fourteen dollars super chat. Hey, siguy,
<v Speaker 1>thank you. That's the brand new fourteen dollars superchat drop
<v Speaker 1>we got, Brodie. Let's go solo, Let's go solo. Let's
<v Speaker 1>go solo. I love that chant rarely even with a five.
<v Speaker 1>How is the anacond device legal in WWE? It is
<v Speaker 1>literally a choke hold. You're strangling your opponent. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>what are you asking me for? I don't make the rules.
<v Speaker 1>I don't disagree. Arnold PJ. Michael Cole, also called libs
<v Speaker 1>three amigos as the three Omego's. Maybe maybe he was
<v Speaker 1>referencing three of Kenny Omega's friends. How bout it? How
<v Speaker 1>bad it is that what Omega calls his friends? Would
<v Speaker 1>that be the young Bucks and Hangman? Are they the
<v Speaker 1>three Omegos? I think Michael cole Is is pretty burnt out,
<v Speaker 1>That's what I think. Yeah, it's funny because in the
<v Speaker 1>last couple of years, I think he's taken a few
<v Speaker 1>days off, but like, up until a few years ago,
<v Speaker 1>he talked about it with such pride that he only
<v Speaker 1>took like three days off in twenty seven years. And
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, that's not something to celebrate, dude, Like that's awful.
<v Speaker 1>That is awful. I could, I guess understand in some
<v Speaker 1>weird warped way, like this is a source of pride
<v Speaker 1>for people who work for that company, who could be like,
<v Speaker 1>I've never taken any day. I've missed three days in
<v Speaker 1>twenty seven years, Like why would you ever want to
<v Speaker 1>work for a company where you feel like you have
<v Speaker 1>to work and only miss three days in twenty seven
<v Speaker 1>Like it's just insane to me. That's not something to
<v Speaker 1>be celebrated. You end up burning yourself out. Don't do
<v Speaker 1>that Grand Prairie Cobra. Just like player manager in MLB
<v Speaker 1>and NBA fifty years ago, this is a perfect angle
<v Speaker 1>for all this, much like Hall versus Zubisco, build heat,
<v Speaker 1>then use him to settle a score. That probably would
<v Speaker 1>be the best role for him. Honestly, you were going
<v Speaker 1>to have him get back in the ring for any feuds.
<v Speaker 1>Darryl Strawberry is with us. Want me to make your
<v Speaker 1>day even worse than the tooth. Thousand and six NLC
<v Speaker 1>has Game seven. If Beltron walk off Wainwright with the
<v Speaker 1>bases loaded, it would have been a grand slam. Darryl,
<v Speaker 1>you need to just you need to cool it. Brother.
<v Speaker 1>You're putting me in a very bad headspace. If you
<v Speaker 1>take me back to two thousand and six, in that
<v Speaker 1>series Tried Chicken says, can you imagine see I'm punk
<v Speaker 1>attempting to do a Maide in Japan move during a
<v Speaker 1>WWE may You wouldn't be doing that to me. I
<v Speaker 1>would never agree to that, Bruce. The show was mediocre,
<v Speaker 1>but these Michelobe ultras are making it better, with everybody
<v Speaker 1>saying yeah, it's gonna be there, It's gonna be their
<v Speaker 1>new sponsor on the ring steps Michelobe. Actually, maybe they
<v Speaker 1>could put them on the microphones instead of having like
<v Speaker 1>the raw what they call like a bug the wrap
<v Speaker 1>around of the microphone, it'll just be the Michelobe logo,
<v Speaker 1>the Michelobe mic Yeah, we'll have the calci Cando sticks,
<v Speaker 1>the Michelobe microphones. What else can we brand? Plus Ultra
<v Speaker 1>Adrian Cody. Fatigue may be a thing, but solo monster
<v Speaker 1>fatigue will never be a thing. Thank you for all
<v Speaker 1>that you do. That's right, There was no such thing
<v Speaker 1>as solo monster fatigue. It would be impossible. Actually, solo
<v Speaker 1>monster fatigue is a very real thing, but it's literally
<v Speaker 1>the solomn monster is just very fatigued because he doesn't
<v Speaker 1>get enough sleep. But you guys, there should be no
<v Speaker 1>such thing as solo monster fatigue. Bass Beer says moon salt.
<v Speaker 1>He wrote that, like like literal moon salt, there's salt
<v Speaker 1>on them. We may find out soon. Supposedly SpaceX is
<v Speaker 1>blowing up a rocket or something on the Moon. I'm
<v Speaker 1>sure that'll end well. When pieces of the Moon end
<v Speaker 1>up landing on Earth and killing people, that'll be great.
<v Speaker 1>Jeremy Roe, says Cody. Ko versus Orton Punk feud incoming.
<v Speaker 1>So Ko is going to be back to being friends
<v Speaker 1>with Cody. Why would he do that after everything they
<v Speaker 1>went through? Bruce says Mickey James was the highlight of
<v Speaker 1>the aldest match. I like the aldest match. Abystle Zones
<v Speaker 1>looked like Brocks sat up and laughed after the first
<v Speaker 1>fall from Grace. I figured it was his tribute to
<v Speaker 1>his summer slim matches in twenty fourteen and twenty fifteen
<v Speaker 1>are about that? Or is that just a tribute to him?
<v Speaker 1>No selling and yelling and laughing in Ilia Dragadov's face,
<v Speaker 1>and no selling his chop his chops from the Royal Rumble.
<v Speaker 1>Bass Beer says Blue Choo adds on the Kendo sticks. Now,
<v Speaker 1>I think when the wrestlers start branding their boots it'll
<v Speaker 1>be the Blue Choo boot. Venom Catetsu Captain Morgan Tonight
<v Speaker 1>with no mixer staying healthy hm, hm, you always need
<v Speaker 1>a mixer would be nine out of fifteen on the
<v Speaker 1>bonus call. HM. We're definitely doing the one round to
<v Speaker 1>be the bookers, so we are we are at least
<v Speaker 1>safe with the one round. Solemn Monster's lost son is
<v Speaker 1>with us with a four ninety nine. Dad, I for
<v Speaker 1>sure thought Brock was hiding a blade in one of
<v Speaker 1>those elbow pads. Low key disappointed main event punk Cody
<v Speaker 1>should have main evented every now and then, you know,
<v Speaker 1>he chimes in and reminds me that I raised him
<v Speaker 1>right with a take like that Pseudo with a five
<v Speaker 1>I chose. I chose sleep and five star GP over SummerSlam.
<v Speaker 1>Seems like I made the right choice. Well you did,
<v Speaker 1>And I mean, now you're here with the reviews, so
<v Speaker 1>I could just tell you everything that you missed. You
<v Speaker 1>didn't miss much, bas Beer says was Triple H. Was
<v Speaker 1>Triple H versus Nash in Helena cell better than tonight?
<v Speaker 1>I mean, from what I can remember, I don't remember
<v Speaker 1>really liking that Matt was that the one with Fully
<v Speaker 1>as the referee? Was Fully the referee for that match?
<v Speaker 1>I remembering the same match it probably was. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I haven't seen that match in years. I just was
<v Speaker 1>not a big fan of a lot of those Triple
<v Speaker 1>H matches during that era. Solo Monsters lost Sun again.
<v Speaker 1>Where are you getting all this money from Solo Monsters?
<v Speaker 1>So I cut you off a long time ago. You
<v Speaker 1>back out on the street. If any celebrity can have
<v Speaker 1>a five star match, it would be Tom Holland. I
<v Speaker 1>grew up with Toby, but I can confidently say after
<v Speaker 1>the new movie, he is my favorite. You know, Out
<v Speaker 1>of curiosity, I just checked to see what all the
<v Speaker 1>showings were at my local movie theater and they were
<v Speaker 1>all sold out for that Spider Man, even until like
<v Speaker 1>one p thirty in the morning. They were all sold
<v Speaker 1>out for Spider Man. I mean that movie is going
<v Speaker 1>to do record monster business by the time this week
<v Speaker 1>and this is just the opening weekend. Did seventy two
<v Speaker 1>million on Thursday previews alone, seventy two million on Thursday crazy,
<v Speaker 1>and then we got Haavely, we got that red Bomb.
<v Speaker 1>I love seeing that Red. Brett Hart said that he
<v Speaker 1>was supposed to drop the Intercontinental title to Sean Michaels
<v Speaker 1>at SummerSlam in DC. If this was true, what would
<v Speaker 1>Davy boy have done if SummerSlam was one night this year?
<v Speaker 1>What would be the main event? Brock versus Oba, Roman
<v Speaker 1>versus Seth or Punk versus Cody and Favorite Summer Simpoll.
<v Speaker 1>He's got a lot of questions here. Favorite Summer Slam
<v Speaker 1>in eighty ninety what there was no Summer Slam in
<v Speaker 1>nineteen eighty. What are you talking about Summerslim eighty ninety
<v Speaker 1>or I dude, I don't know where the eighty came
<v Speaker 1>from in that, but of the options that you presented
<v Speaker 1>to me, the answer is ninety Summer Slim ninety. If
<v Speaker 1>Summer Slim was one night this year, the main event
<v Speaker 1>would have been Oba and Brock if they insisted on
<v Speaker 1>doing the ring spot, because you can't rip up the
<v Speaker 1>ring and then send another match out there. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I guess you could, but it would take a while
<v Speaker 1>to repair. So it probably would still be Brock and Oba,
<v Speaker 1>but if not, then it would be Roman and Seth
<v Speaker 1>over Cody and Punk And as far as the first story,
<v Speaker 1>so that is true. The original plan for Summerslim in
<v Speaker 1>nineteen ninety two, they were going to run Washington, DC
<v Speaker 1>and Sewn Michaels was going to challenge Brett and probably
<v Speaker 1>win the Intercontinental title. They made the decision to go
<v Speaker 1>to Wembley, which was very ambitious because business wasn't exactly
<v Speaker 1>booming in ninety two, but overseas their business was really
<v Speaker 1>really good, and they legit had eighty thousand people in
<v Speaker 1>Wembley Stadium like the legitimate number of people they had
<v Speaker 1>in Wembley in ninety two. The old Wembley was more
<v Speaker 1>than AW had and they had a lot of people
<v Speaker 1>their first time in Wembley. But once they made that decision,
<v Speaker 1>they decided to go with the Bulldog. What would Bulldog
<v Speaker 1>have done if they did Summer Slim in DC, Nothing
<v Speaker 1>of note. You know, It's not like he would have
<v Speaker 1>been wrestling for a championship. The only reason they put
<v Speaker 1>the belt on him when they did was because they
<v Speaker 1>were going to Wembley. So that one decision changed everything.
<v Speaker 1>You know, people still talk about Breton Bulldog as being
<v Speaker 1>the greatest Summer Slim match of all time, and it
<v Speaker 1>almost didn't happen just because they could have just gone
<v Speaker 1>with a different location for the show that year. I
<v Speaker 1>don't remember why they ultimately, like what it came down to,
<v Speaker 1>and why they made the call to take it Overseas.
<v Speaker 1>My guess would be that again, they were doing really
<v Speaker 1>big business on those international tours back then, and they
<v Speaker 1>were like, hey, we could probably fill up the stadium
<v Speaker 1>doing it, And oh my, I just noticed m Mills
<v Speaker 1>just came in like a tornado and absolutely wrecked the goal.
<v Speaker 1>The bonus goal we have hit fifteen out of fifteen
<v Speaker 1>on those ten dollars superchats, and so we are going
<v Speaker 1>to be doing a double round of be the booker
<v Speaker 1>round of applause for m Mills. M Mills is awesome.
<v Speaker 1>Ul Cogan was there now, Hulk Cogan, Despite what he
<v Speaker 1>may have told people, ul Cogan was not at Wembley
<v Speaker 1>Stadium for SummerSlam. He was there. He was there in spirit. Brother, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>well be there in spirit now too. Anyway, Havili, thank you, brother,
<v Speaker 1>very very generous of you. I appreciate it. Don't be
<v Speaker 1>afraid to show your face more often. Cameo Johnson with
<v Speaker 1>the nine ninety nine Phil should have practiced that top
<v Speaker 1>rope with the time off that he had and hit
<v Speaker 1>up Raymisterio about that stem cell Lol. Live should have lost.
<v Speaker 1>But to Raquel, why does she have the Intercontinental Belt?
<v Speaker 1>Thanks again, Solo for the content. Cameo, I wish I
<v Speaker 1>had a better answer for you. I don't know. It
<v Speaker 1>seemed a few months ago like that's the direction we
<v Speaker 1>were headed in. They were going to do something with
<v Speaker 1>Live and Raquel, and things were headed down, you know,
<v Speaker 1>a breakup between them or even Rock Sande Lived. They
<v Speaker 1>were kind of building tension between them, and they've completely
<v Speaker 1>just gotten away from that. All right, I'm gonna stop
<v Speaker 1>that goal and just throw up a different one. We
<v Speaker 1>did this the other night. If we hit this one,
<v Speaker 1>we'll have three rounds to be the booker. Let's throw
<v Speaker 1>that one as a double bonus up there. Hey Darryl
<v Speaker 1>Shrubberry again, thank you, brother, coming in with another super chat.
<v Speaker 1>Robert Peterson. Do you think WWE could have made a
<v Speaker 1>push for ravishing Rick Rude to be the world champion
<v Speaker 1>in his time? Sure they could have. I think he
<v Speaker 1>would have made for a fight. Look, he was a
<v Speaker 1>great champion in WCW. He had more success there than
<v Speaker 1>he did in WWA, EJ Slam Baseball News, my White
<v Speaker 1>Sox trade for Luis Castillo and the Dodgers somehow get
<v Speaker 1>even richer by landing Tarik School. Oh my goodness, it's
<v Speaker 1>fucking Dodgers, man. Something has to be done about them.
<v Speaker 1>Something must be done about these Dodgers. They're an absolute
<v Speaker 1>menace to the game. Tucky Neutrons speaking on your ad
<v Speaker 1>rant Taco bell ring bell. They could call it the
<v Speaker 1>taco ring Bell. Give me backshots, solo monster. I will
<v Speaker 1>not live winning makes Roxanne money in the bank favorite
<v Speaker 1>in my I hope so, because then that'll make me
<v Speaker 1>look really smart because I picked her at the beginning
<v Speaker 1>of the year when I did my predictions, I picked
<v Speaker 1>her to win money in the bank all the way
<v Speaker 1>back in like December. And then we had m Mills
<v Speaker 1>coming in with all of these nine to ninety nine
<v Speaker 1>super chats to get us to the bonus goal. M Mills,
<v Speaker 1>I salute you. I hope you're having a great night.
<v Speaker 1>I love it, Boots with a five solo monster. You
<v Speaker 1>watch Raw, SmackDown and the Ple so we don't have to.
<v Speaker 1>Will you be joining Club WWE and give us the
<v Speaker 1>first hand beats? I will not, will not. I was
<v Speaker 1>not planning on joining Club WWE. I don't even what
<v Speaker 1>are all the perks of Club WWE. Do I get
<v Speaker 1>a cool patch like Cody had on his jacket on
<v Speaker 1>SmackDown last night. Can't wait for the MLB lockout? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Unfortunately the lockout is coming. Unfortunately it is inevitable. You
<v Speaker 1>know the last time we had an Mlbut the last
<v Speaker 1>time we had an MLB lockout, we ended up with
<v Speaker 1>Abe Knuckleball Schwartz on TV. Joseph Brooks with a four
<v Speaker 1>to ninety nine. You get to give TKO more money.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, that's just what I want to be doing.
<v Speaker 1>Joseph says by rent sell on hbk's rematches of great
<v Speaker 1>matches that he had HBK against Razor ramone Summer Slam
<v Speaker 1>ninety five, HBK against Undertaker, WrestleMania twenty six, HBK against
<v Speaker 1>Sena on Raw in the UK. I'm gonna go HBK
<v Speaker 1>Razor from SummerSlam ninety five. I actually like that ladder
<v Speaker 1>match more than their WrestleMania ten ladder match, and I
<v Speaker 1>love that match, so I'm buying on that. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna rent on the WrestleMania twenty six match, and
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to sell on the Raw match with Sina
<v Speaker 1>Super Pony. Ko should help Sammy win tomorrow. I think
<v Speaker 1>that it would be a slap in the face to
<v Speaker 1>have Sammy lose the belt and lose to a guy
<v Speaker 1>that has zero chance of winning a world title. Again,
<v Speaker 1>I love Finn, but that is the reality. Well, you know,
<v Speaker 1>I guess that would be the only way that I
<v Speaker 1>would see Owens returning tomorrow is if he was to
<v Speaker 1>help Sammy win, which I then would I imagine, would
<v Speaker 1>then set up an automatic feud with Owens and valor
<v Speaker 1>Darryl Strawberry the Dodgers. Just yes, we just talked about that.
<v Speaker 1>Darryl Strawberry is very excited about this and Dried Chicken
<v Speaker 1>with a five you're going to hate me for this,
<v Speaker 1>bright orange ladders during pleas to sponsor home depot. I
<v Speaker 1>could absolutely see that. I could totally see that Dry Chicken,
<v Speaker 1>Thank you, Darth ridiculous with a five, hot tip. Want
<v Speaker 1>to see Spider Man with no crowd? Get a ticket
<v Speaker 1>to a showing with closed caption? Saw it Thursday? Only
<v Speaker 1>six people in there? Do it all the time. How
<v Speaker 1>was that the trick? People don't like seeing the closed
<v Speaker 1>captions on the screen. That's interesting, and we have Javili says,
<v Speaker 1>I meant in the eighties, nineties, two thoys, tens, and twenties. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>in the eighties, I thought you were saying nineteen eighty.
<v Speaker 1>They didn't have pay per views back then. Brother favorite
<v Speaker 1>Summer Slam in the eighties, well, there were only two
<v Speaker 1>of them, so not a huge sample size. I gotta
<v Speaker 1>go eighty nine though. Eighty nine was a favorite of mine,
<v Speaker 1>so that one's easy. In the nineties, hmmm, gets a
<v Speaker 1>little bit harder. There were some really good summer slams,
<v Speaker 1>My boy, I think I might have to go ninety one.
<v Speaker 1>I might have to go ninety one. I probably would
<v Speaker 1>go ninety or ninety one. Two thousand's two thousands, two thousands,
<v Speaker 1>two thousand and two, and then twenty ten. I probably
<v Speaker 1>would go twenty thirteen, and then of the twenty twenties,
<v Speaker 1>you know, that may be the hardest one, and those
<v Speaker 1>are the most recent ones. I don't know. I don't
<v Speaker 1>know which man, I don't that's a tough one. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know. Maybe twenty two, maybe twenty two. PAVELI the
<v Speaker 1>thirty six months of Channel membership. Any chance of getting
<v Speaker 1>the Demon tomorrow against Sammy's Ain, No no, I would
<v Speaker 1>say very little. There's no reason for it. You bring
<v Speaker 1>out the Demon when there's a reason for it. This
<v Speaker 1>is a random match. I mean, there's no reason to
<v Speaker 1>have the Demon out there. We have Shift and Shive.
<v Speaker 1>Post show, Triple H saying that he loves all the
<v Speaker 1>wrestlers working hard to get themselves over with the fans,
<v Speaker 1>why so he can bury them in catering hilariously hypocritical. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean there's a lot of stuff he says that
<v Speaker 1>is very hypocritical. So there's stuff he said on WWE
<v Speaker 1>Radio this week that I'm gonna be talking about tomorrow
<v Speaker 1>that was very hypocritical. But see, he didn't answer the
<v Speaker 1>most important question though, Schiff. At some point during the
<v Speaker 1>Post Show did he a call this the beginning of
<v Speaker 1>a new era? Or b did he say it's what
<v Speaker 1>we do? There has to be at least one reference
<v Speaker 1>to that every single time he talks on the Post Show,
<v Speaker 1>it's what we do. The Juliet says, rest in peace.
<v Speaker 1>Vincent past story. Yes, Big Pusss passed away. I think
<v Speaker 1>he was eighty one years old. It pus from the Sopranos.
<v Speaker 1>I mean he's been into a lot of different stuff. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I saw he passed away. So I was bummed to
<v Speaker 1>hear that. Someone tell Carmelo Hayes that triple ah statement.
<v Speaker 1>Did you see the picture that Carmelo Hayes posted yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>It's either during SmackDown or after SmackDown. It was just
<v Speaker 1>a picture of Steph Curry just sitting on the bench.
<v Speaker 1>Oh man, that guy is not happy. I don't blame him.
<v Speaker 1>It's thinking, what do I have to do? What do
<v Speaker 1>I have to do? You leave me off WrestleMania, You
<v Speaker 1>leave me off Summer Slim. What do I have to do?
<v Speaker 1>Link Master? What's worse? Seene of beating Ray? Or Brock
<v Speaker 1>beating Kofee, Brock beating Kofe. I know Ray only had
<v Speaker 1>the belt for an hour. Kofe had it for six months.
<v Speaker 1>It was not nearly as bad as the way in
<v Speaker 1>which Koffee was just discarded like he was nothing. Cooffee
<v Speaker 1>was worse. All right. We got two rounds to be
<v Speaker 1>the booker now coming our way, thanks to all of you.
<v Speaker 1>And it's a very special addition too. It's the Summer
<v Speaker 1>Slam edition, so we gotta we gotta do a good
<v Speaker 1>one here. I got high hopes for this. It's time
<v Speaker 1>to be the booker, Ladies and gentlemen, It is now
<v Speaker 1>time to oh no, Matt Scales. Matt Scale says, the
<v Speaker 1>dude wipes fire extinguish. Sure, it's only a matter of
<v Speaker 1>time before the wrestlers themselves are forced to wear advertisements
<v Speaker 1>on their gear. It's only a matter of time. Dried Chicken,
<v Speaker 1>says Carmelo. Hayes needs to call the undertaker for Triple A.
<v Speaker 1>This goes on for much longer. He's gonna have to
<v Speaker 1>call an undertaker for his career like Julia. All right,
<v Speaker 1>here we go. Tag team match. We did not have
<v Speaker 1>a straight tag team match at all, and I don't
<v Speaker 1>believe we have one tomorrow night either. We had two
<v Speaker 1>six person tags tonight though, but no tag team title
<v Speaker 1>defenses this weekend. Hollywood Hogan and the Worm Dennis Rodman
<v Speaker 1>are kicking us off here and be the booker. We
<v Speaker 1>landed on these two a few weeks ago, a lot
<v Speaker 1>of star power there headlined a Bash of the Beach
<v Speaker 1>pay per view many actually two of them, I believe.
<v Speaker 1>I think it was ninety seven and ninety eight Hogan
<v Speaker 1>and Rodman against Tito Santana and Rick Martell. Interesting. Interesting,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, who's doing the job. But interesting match there,
<v Speaker 1>totally going to be carried by Strike Force. Tito was great.
<v Speaker 1>I mean Martell was great too, but Tito is awesome. Man.
<v Speaker 1>Tito is so underrated. Doesn't get enough love. We have.
<v Speaker 1>We have that Butterfly belt. Look at that monstrosity. We
<v Speaker 1>have the former Divas Champion Michelle McCool. This was back
<v Speaker 1>during that phase of her career. Where she was just
<v Speaker 1>loving life. Remember those vignettes. It would show her doing
<v Speaker 1>various things. We rollerblading. Michelle McCool is loving life. She's
<v Speaker 1>loving life. Michelle McCool defending the Diva's title. Up. We
<v Speaker 1>have a triple threat stipulation. Look at that. We have
<v Speaker 1>a bonus stipulation. We have landed on a bonus stipulation,
<v Speaker 1>which means we have to pick two more people. We
<v Speaker 1>have a Divas Championship triple threat. So we have Michelle McCool,
<v Speaker 1>we have who do we have? Ah? Now I'm depressed.
<v Speaker 1>Now I am depressed. I said her name. See I
<v Speaker 1>don't recognize this woman. This is not the same woman
<v Speaker 1>that we see on Friday Nights back then. I don't
<v Speaker 1>know what happened to her, but I want this Julia back.
<v Speaker 1>This is stardom, Julia stardhom Julia would absolutely just assassinate
<v Speaker 1>Michelle cool. I mean, this is not even a fair fight.
<v Speaker 1>We have to add one more person because it is
<v Speaker 1>a triple threat. I'm telling you, man, be the booker
<v Speaker 1>is self aware and it hears things. It's very very
<v Speaker 1>eerie how we land on some of these things. Okay, well,
<v Speaker 1>now hold on, is that not now. Now, now we
<v Speaker 1>have been transported from a triple threat to a fatal
<v Speaker 1>four way. We're just gonna keep adding women here. We're
<v Speaker 1>gonna have our own little harem. So we have Michelle McCool,
<v Speaker 1>we have Julia, and now we need two more women.
<v Speaker 1>Now it has turned into a Divis Championship four way. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>it is evolving. Teagan knocks Julia, Tigan Knox and Michelle McCool.
<v Speaker 1>We need a drum roll for this. We got to
<v Speaker 1>pick our fourth and final lady here in this match,
<v Speaker 1>and it will be EO Sky and I am gonna
<v Speaker 1>give that the automatic bell because we have Julia and
<v Speaker 1>EO Sky in the same match. That's an automatic bell.
<v Speaker 1>Tiga Knox and Michelle McCool. They can go fight off
<v Speaker 1>out to the floor. Give me Eo and give me Julia.
<v Speaker 1>It's all that's all we need here. It's all we
<v Speaker 1>need alright, our final match here of round number one.
<v Speaker 1>We need a good main event. It is SummerSlam Night one.
<v Speaker 1>Give me a good main event. Next spin is the
<v Speaker 1>guest referee. Well this is new okay, So we're gonna
<v Speaker 1>have so the first person we're gonna spin for is
<v Speaker 1>going to be the special guest referee, which means this
<v Speaker 1>person has to call this match right down the middle.
<v Speaker 1>Whoever it is that we land on. Man, that's a
<v Speaker 1>hard slap right there. I think Sammy's ay, he looks
<v Speaker 1>like he should be trying out for power slap. All right,
<v Speaker 1>so the guest referee for this main event contest will
<v Speaker 1>be ah, wait, what is going on here? You get
<v Speaker 1>to pick the mystery man. I get to pick the
<v Speaker 1>mystery man. Huh. You know what that means. Since we
<v Speaker 1>basically doubled up on stipulations here, that means I get
<v Speaker 1>to pick the special referee. Okay, so I need some
<v Speaker 1>input from you guys who should be the special guest
<v Speaker 1>referee for this match. I'll give you a few seconds. Think,
<v Speaker 1>think hard about this. Chime in in the chat, and
<v Speaker 1>whoever I pick, I'm just gonna like, I'm just gonna
<v Speaker 1>pick the person and that will be the referee for
<v Speaker 1>the match, and then we'll pick the actual participants. Ariel Helwani,
<v Speaker 1>Nick All this JD from Ny boss Man, Jim corn Boy.
<v Speaker 1>This is look at the look at Dave Meltzer. Look
<v Speaker 1>at all these My god, Solomonster. Of course I could
<v Speaker 1>pick yeah, but see if I pick myself though. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>that's that's like a conflict of interest A lot. I
<v Speaker 1>see a lot of albundies in the chat. All Right,
<v Speaker 1>I gotta make I gotta make a decision here. Uh
<v Speaker 1>you know what I will go. I will go with JD.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna go. JD from NY is going to be
<v Speaker 1>the special referee here for this match. Okay, so now
<v Speaker 1>we know who the official is going to be. Now
<v Speaker 1>we have to pick the participants. The Jets, the reigning
<v Speaker 1>T n T champion in a e W Kevin Knight.
<v Speaker 1>He was just in a main event. He was just
<v Speaker 1>in a pay per view main event last weekend. In fact,
<v Speaker 1>we got the Jet Kevin Knight the main event against
<v Speaker 1>Psycho said, and you know, and actually I believe that
<v Speaker 1>was a clean sweep, a clean sweep. SID is going
<v Speaker 1>to power bomb not only Kevin Knight. He's going to
<v Speaker 1>power bomb JD. For shits and giggles. He's gonna leave
<v Speaker 1>them both laying with a power bomb and everyone's gonna pop.
<v Speaker 1>He's taking a ref bump. Now, he's taking a He's
<v Speaker 1>taking a power bomb, is what he's taking. He's gonna
<v Speaker 1>be biased towards Sid. Now, we need a referee that
<v Speaker 1>can call it right down the middle. He's gotta be
<v Speaker 1>able to call balls and strikes. I gotta tell you,
<v Speaker 1>that was a wild round, and we got one more
<v Speaker 1>left to go. I don't know if we can top
<v Speaker 1>what we just did. Now it's all stipulations here. So
<v Speaker 1>the first stipulation is gonna be a barroom brawl. We're
<v Speaker 1>gonna have ourselves a good old fashioned Donnybrook like, all right,
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna have a barroom brawl tag team match. I
<v Speaker 1>don't believe we've had one of those. Oh my god,
<v Speaker 1>enough with the fucking shield. My god. Oh, I can't
<v Speaker 1>get away from them. This, by the way, is your
<v Speaker 1>main event tomorrow night. You want to know your Summer
<v Speaker 1>Slam Night two main event. There it is right there,
<v Speaker 1>staring you, rent your face, Roman Reigns and seth Rawlins.
<v Speaker 1>I mean they look so young, they're so much older.
<v Speaker 1>Now we have the Shield in a barroom brawl against
<v Speaker 1>the Bang Bangang, Jay White and Juice Robinson. I can
<v Speaker 1>that's right. I cannot escape the shield vortex. None of
<v Speaker 1>us can. I'm just glad that the Bang Bang Gang
<v Speaker 1>is going to be away from the dogs. I'll take it.
<v Speaker 1>Match number two is going to be Oh, grave consequences.
<v Speaker 1>This is how a casket match ought to be done.
<v Speaker 1>This is not just any casket match. This is a
<v Speaker 1>very violent, bloody casket match. Let's stick with the men
<v Speaker 1>on this one. It's a little too violent for the ladies.
<v Speaker 1>We'll stick here to the guys for this one. Grave consequences.
<v Speaker 1>He uh, good morning brother, DDP, Diamond Dallas Page. It's
<v Speaker 1>gonna be on one side of the ring here in
<v Speaker 1>grave consequences. DDP, Yo, it's me, It's me. It's DDP
<v Speaker 1>against l A night. Yeah, grave consequences. The BFT very
<v Speaker 1>similar though, isn't it? The BFT and the Diamond Cutter
<v Speaker 1>a little too similar? Little too similar. And now our
<v Speaker 1>main event, our main event of the evening. What kind
<v Speaker 1>of match are we gonna have? It's going to be
<v Speaker 1>a of course, it's going to be a blindfold match.
<v Speaker 1>This is how they book in WWE. They have all
<v Speaker 1>their creative meetings or fucking blindfold matches. The two men
<v Speaker 1>will have a bag over their heads. They will be
<v Speaker 1>unable to see. It's pretty simple. It's basically how the
<v Speaker 1>match works. Not the best stipulation, but that's what we
<v Speaker 1>landed on Logan Paul in a blindfold match, and here
<v Speaker 1>I thought that we might actually be able to pull
<v Speaker 1>off the double sweep. But it's not looking too good.
<v Speaker 1>Well Logan Paul against I mean, this is not just
<v Speaker 1>Eddie Kingston. This is like zombie Eddie Kingston, which I
<v Speaker 1>gotta tell you, Eddie Kingston in the ring, this version
<v Speaker 1>of Eddie Kingston in the ring with Logan Paul. That
<v Speaker 1>is a double sweep. We pulled it off. We did it.
<v Speaker 1>I was ready to hit the buzzer on that match.
<v Speaker 1>As soon as I saw Logan Paul and blindfold match,
<v Speaker 1>I said, yeah, I don't like where this is headed.
<v Speaker 1>But then we saw Eddie Kingston. Eddie Kingston, by the way,
<v Speaker 1>the Mad King, Bloody Kingston. I liked that. See I
<v Speaker 1>like that, Nobdy says, Bloody Kingston. The Mad King is
<v Speaker 1>going to be coming to the NYC Arena. We have
<v Speaker 1>him in the main event of House of Glory next
<v Speaker 1>Friday against Charles Mason for the World Championship. You can
<v Speaker 1>see it live and free on YouTube next Friday, unless
<v Speaker 1>you care that much to watch SmackDown, Otherwise you can
<v Speaker 1>watch hog I'm just saying, well, we ended well I
<v Speaker 1>like how that ended. I like that. Yeah, we ended
<v Speaker 1>up doing two men's matches instead of the women's match.
<v Speaker 1>I made a judgment call that we were not going
<v Speaker 1>to get too overly violent with the women in grave consequences.
<v Speaker 1>So there you go. I gotta tell you man that
<v Speaker 1>card next Friday that what we put together is stacked.
<v Speaker 1>It is stacked. All right, let's get back to your
<v Speaker 1>super chats here, because we are not done yet. We
<v Speaker 1>have hmmm, try chicken, says Martel and Tito against Hogan
<v Speaker 1>and Rodman Eric Bischoff as the referee. Yeah, I don't
<v Speaker 1>think we need him. JAVELI buy sell or rent says
<v Speaker 1>Favorite Summer Slam of the Undertakers ninety six against Mankind,
<v Speaker 1>ninety seven against Brett Or, ninety eight against Steve Austin.
<v Speaker 1>And are they saying Stephanie Vicaires? Are they saving Stephanie
<v Speaker 1>if he cares returned for Raw? I've been waiting for
<v Speaker 1>Stephanie to come back since WrestleMania, So unless there's some
<v Speaker 1>reason why she cannot work, Yes, it would seem to
<v Speaker 1>me like Raw would be the perfect place for them
<v Speaker 1>to bring her back. As far as favorite Summer Slim
<v Speaker 1>of the Undertaker. Let me tell you something, man, those
<v Speaker 1>were three great matches he had back to back to
<v Speaker 1>back like that, but I don't think any of them
<v Speaker 1>were as good as the ninety seven match with Brett,
<v Speaker 1>and the finish of that match was just a work
<v Speaker 1>of art. I gotta go ninety seven. I will go
<v Speaker 1>ninety six because I'm a fan of that boiler room brawl,
<v Speaker 1>and then I'll put ninety eight against Austin on the bottom.
<v Speaker 1>Even though the hype and the promotion for that match,
<v Speaker 1>the Highway to Hell stuff, I mean, clears them all.
<v Speaker 1>The match itself, I'd have to put that third JS
<v Speaker 1>js J swag ninety three home from Summer Slim. It
<v Speaker 1>was six point eight out of ten to me, that's
<v Speaker 1>about in line with what I said. I said about
<v Speaker 1>six out of ten, maybe six and a half, middle
<v Speaker 1>of the road trending up. Se yea. And that's from
<v Speaker 1>someone who was there in the stadium. Tried chicken, says
<v Speaker 1>Michelle McCool. Stardom, Julia Tigan, Knox and Eosky Winner gets
<v Speaker 1>a Lamborghini. You know, I what was I gonna say
<v Speaker 1>about Julia just forgot well, I said, I said, a
<v Speaker 1>year from now, if she's not in stardom. She'll be
<v Speaker 1>back in Marigold. I mean the writing, the writing with
<v Speaker 1>her is on the wall fast Eddie solo. Have you
<v Speaker 1>seen the I Play Rocky trailer? That movie is gonna
<v Speaker 1>be phenomenal. I have not. I have not. Is it
<v Speaker 1>worth watching? They have not seen the trailer? Maybe forty
<v Speaker 1>one eighty one CM punk with the un prettiest moon saln.
<v Speaker 1>I love it. I love it CEM punk with the
<v Speaker 1>un prettiest moon salt ever, CM punk the grievous of
<v Speaker 1>the sky. I like the unprettiest moonsalt ever. Actually a
<v Speaker 1>great way to describe it. Dry chickens, says Logan Paul
<v Speaker 1>against Eddie Kingston. Max Dupree Low blows Eddie to help
<v Speaker 1>Logan for more heat. Well, it's a good thing you're
<v Speaker 1>not booking. You kill the territory. E CW original ECW
<v Speaker 1>with the three fifty seven been listening since twenty twelve,
<v Speaker 1>twenty thirteen. You kind of taught me the English language.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you for always being unbiased in your reviews. Well,
<v Speaker 1>I appreciate that. Is that a good thing or a
<v Speaker 1>pathic that I taught you the English language? I probably
<v Speaker 1>taught you a few words you shouldn't be using. But
<v Speaker 1>that's a long time, man, that's well over a decade.
<v Speaker 1>I appreciate all the support. You've stuck with me for
<v Speaker 1>a very long time. You know we're getting very close.
<v Speaker 1>We're getting awfully close to episode one thousand of the
<v Speaker 1>Sound of You know what happened when Raw hit episode
<v Speaker 1>one thousand it went to three hours. I promise you,
<v Speaker 1>I promise you. I make this vow. I will not
<v Speaker 1>do that. I will not do that. If anything, I'll
<v Speaker 1>shave an hour off. And link master X says I
<v Speaker 1>pay thirty dollars a month for C plus pay per views.
<v Speaker 1>Why are you paying thirty dollars a month? Do you
<v Speaker 1>not have ESPN Unlimited or Netflix at a VPN? I
<v Speaker 1>don't think these shows are worth thirty dollars a month.
<v Speaker 1>But I'm sorry to hear that, brother. I only now
<v Speaker 1>got access to ESPN U Limited through YouTube TV. I
<v Speaker 1>finally got it to work so I was able to
<v Speaker 1>watch it on there. Finally, it only took a year.
<v Speaker 1>Better late than never, I guess, man, we got a
<v Speaker 1>lot of longtime listeners in the chat. Chris is twenty ten.
<v Speaker 1>Next year is going to be twenty years for the
<v Speaker 1>sound of Yes. Next year is the twenty year anniversary
<v Speaker 1>next November. We got episode one thousand coming up, twenty
<v Speaker 1>year anniversary. There's a lot of milestones coming up. Well,
<v Speaker 1>thank you guys for hanging out with me for Night
<v Speaker 1>one of Summer Slim. Tonight, I thought that we pretty
<v Speaker 1>much covered all the important stuff. I think I pretty
<v Speaker 1>much called it fairly, some good stuff, some not so
<v Speaker 1>good stuff. And tomorrow we'll do it again. Hopefully it's
<v Speaker 1>better than tonight. Night two, headlined by Roman Reigns and
<v Speaker 1>Seth Rollins. We'll see if they're saving any surprises. If
<v Speaker 1>we're gonna get any title changes, it's gonna be in
<v Speaker 1>the Intercontinental match. Obviously we're gonna have a new interim
<v Speaker 1>Women's champion, but I'm not counting that. But we should
<v Speaker 1>have at least the IC title change tomorrow. That's the
<v Speaker 1>match I'm actually looking forward to most on that card,
<v Speaker 1>Roman and Seth, I'm sure they're gonna have a quality
<v Speaker 1>main event. It's just again, fourteen years of this. It's like,
<v Speaker 1>can we move on, please? You know, it's twenty twenty
<v Speaker 1>six and we have they're building this whole main event around,
<v Speaker 1>like the Shield and nobody loved the shield as much
<v Speaker 1>as I did back then. But my god, can we
<v Speaker 1>can we move on from this? Please? Let's let this
<v Speaker 1>be the end and link Master Kubrick or Tarantino. Tarantino, Hey, Alex,
<v Speaker 1>what's going on? Necro says it's going to blow tomorrow.
<v Speaker 1>I love the attitude. I love the optimism, Dry Chicken.
<v Speaker 1>There is one way for Julia to get out of
<v Speaker 1>her contract. Take a picture with Tony Kahan. Yeah, just
<v Speaker 1>take a picture with the Elite. She'll She'll be gone
<v Speaker 1>pretty quickly again. Sound off nine seventy four. We'll be
<v Speaker 1>dropping tomorrow sometime, hopefully early afternoon. I don't want to
<v Speaker 1>wait until we get too close to summer, Slim, and
<v Speaker 1>then we have night two. I'll get the page up
<v Speaker 1>just like I did today. We'll be here probably around
<v Speaker 1>the same time nine thirty nine forty five tomorrow night.
<v Speaker 1>We'll wrap everything up. Hit that like button on your
<v Speaker 1>way out, leave a comment, thank you again for all
<v Speaker 1>the love. Be well, stay safe, have yourselves a great
<v Speaker 1>rest of your night. Bring all that support tomorrow so
<v Speaker 1>we can do be the booker again, and I'll see
<v Speaker 1>you there. We ain't done yet, night too. I'll see
<v Speaker 1>you tomorrow,
