Permaculture flows like a sweet spring.
I'm the daddy with the know-how seed.
Greening the world like it's meant to be.
I'm a ultra P-I-O-P, I'm the king.
Back to loving everything.
Bringing change, making it last.
welcome to episode four seventy three of
the permaculture pimp cast where pimp
stands for permaculture is my passion the
only pimp cast on this earth that
discusses permaculture preparedness
practical living and sometimes prostitutes
oh well good to be here with y'all
and with my partner in crime this episode
as always brought to you by the sovereign
health summit that's going to be october
twenty seven through the thirty first
that's going to be in harmony north
carolina and as of yet you know hey
we got tickets available
You can even be there virtually if you'd
like.
TPC will get you five percent off.
Also, EMP Shield,
fifty bucks off with promo code.
Well, yeah,
fifty bucks off with promo code PERMA.
I was sitting down here looking,
making sure.
OK, I thought they changed it, but no,
they didn't.
Look, y'all.
I've been a journeyman electrician for
almost thirty years,
and I'm here to tell you that your
number one threat isn't necessarily an
EMP.
It is a lightning strike.
And if anything gets downstream of this
thing and Kentucky fries anything in their
house,
they're going to cover you for twenty five
G's.
Find me another transient voltage surge
suppressor on the market that offers any
kind of protection like that.
So you can't.
That's why I reached out to them.
You know,
the advertisers don't reach out to me.
How are you doing, son?
Pretty good.
You were talking about lightning earlier.
Weird thing happened earlier today when I
was at the I got a new phone.
So hopefully the phone issues go away here
after today.
But while I was at the phone store,
it's clear sky.
I think I mean, well,
their version of clear sky.
I think there may have been like a
handful of clouds.
By no means was there a storm anywhere
near us.
And we were here in Thunder inside the
Verizon store.
while they were trying or inside the phone
store while they were trying to like do
the adjustments and all that stuff to the
phones to the point like we kept hearing
it like i went outside to go look
to see what was happening but we kept
hearing thunder it wasn't like there was
any kind of heavy equipment construction
going on there was nothing going on it's
right next to walmart it's not like
anything was going on at walmart and it
wasn't like anybody was blowing tannerite
up uh in the distance because i mean
it was in the middle of town um
Yeah, it was weird.
We kept hearing thunder and I wasn't the
only one.
Everybody else in the store heard it and
it was just bizarre.
But unlike everybody else, I mean,
everybody else just kind of heard it and
then didn't really think twice of it and
probably won't make much of it, you know,
as their day goes on.
But it was weird.
It was really weird.
I mean, no rain clouds in sight,
nothing like that.
Not a single one.
No.
At best,
it had the clouds that come after
everything dissipates a little bit.
It's like a hazy blanket, really.
But you can still see blue past it
and everything.
No solid rain clouds, nothing.
It was weird.
Yeah, I'm not at all surprised, man.
We had some weird stuff going on here
today.
I might as well just cover that since
we're going to delve into the weird stuff.
Son,
you can ask your mom if I'm lying.
I was on the front porch trying to
prep this show, I think.
And your mom was in the house doing
something in the kitchen.
And then in the distance,
we could hear this loud propeller noise of
a very large plane that was going
overhead.
I mean, you could tell it was coming.
And it was like,
I remember when I was at Fort Bragg,
A lot of the pilots out there would
be the ones dumping us out of those
planes where we'd jump out.
So at times they would do nap of
the earth,
meaning that they would fly relatively
low.
We've had C one thirties fly over this
thing before, but never, I mean,
you can ask your mom,
I could look up and I could literally
tell that was a C one thirties and
we're not at the top of the mountain,
but I've never seen a plane this low
anywhere.
And I haven't seen a helicopter.
I don't think this low.
I was flying around here.
Yeah, flew directly over the house.
You could hear it buzz.
And I'm like,
I'm waiting for this thing to crash
because it was really that low.
And so went out there and looked, okay,
that was very, very weird.
Folks, when I say low,
we live in the flipping mountains.
There's another thousand feet above me on
this mountain.
So you wouldn't think that they'd be down
in the valley part where the mountains
meet.
So that's exactly where they are.
How this thing didn't crash.
I do not know.
Um,
why is there so much like military plane
activity near you?
Like there's,
I remember I've seen jets out there.
I've seen helicopters out there.
I've seen a bunch of helicopters out
there.
I've seen C one thirties out there,
but there's all kinds.
Is it because you're so close to brag?
Yeah.
I guess.
Well, that's part of it.
And then also Robin Sage is where you,
everybody says special forces, meaning,
you know, no matter the branch,
there's only one special forces y'all.
And that's the green berets.
Everybody else is not special forces,
even though they kind of use it as
a generic term.
The Special Forces are the Green Berets in
the Army,
and they train at a place called Robin
Sage.
For all the guys that are breaking out
about to become full-fledged Green Berets,
they do their training missions over
there.
It's a pretty large area.
And also, you got Fort Bragg,
and you have a lot of the drop
zones on Fort Bragg.
You have drop zones there that are named
after...
major drop zones in World War II.
You got Sisley, Salerno.
I mean, shoot,
all the drop zones that were used in
World War II where paratroopers jumped
out, that's what they got at Fort Bragg.
And so before they actually,
when you load up on the plane on
Pope Air Force Base,
you get in there and it's agonizing
because you go up and then when they
come down, everybody has to pee.
Your number one motive for jumping out of
that plane is Boyle's Law, right?
Because when they were up high,
it didn't bother you so much.
But when they come down, now your bladder,
you're feeling the effects of it.
So anyway,
they do all this stuff because these
pilots want to get in their hours.
Remember,
Colonel told me this once when I was
at Bragg.
They want to get in their hours.
So they're flying nap of the earth.
They're doing all this kind of crazy
stuff.
So that may be part of it,
but I've never,
ever seen a plane this low in the
mountains.
They usually don't play that kind of game.
I mean, not here.
It's usually,
you can tell when they're low,
but it's never this low.
And I was looking and seeing, okay, well,
they drop any junk out of the sky.
Who even knows?
But anyway, yeah,
that was our strange deal for today.
So you have weird thunder out there,
and we got planes,
C- first
Just flying nap of the earth.
Yeah,
a lot of it I think has to
do with Fort Bragg,
but the direction of travel is nowhere
near coming from Bragg.
Well, in this case it was,
but in a lot of places we're seeing
it go north and south.
Bragg is to the east of us.
So it may be part of a larger
scheme.
These days you don't even know.
You don't even know.
I mean, I put in that new device,
and I'm wondering if we weren't going to
get some helicopter activity because I had
another person reach out to me.
Yeah,
I stuck that other device in the ground.
And for those that don't know,
it's the Agriculture X. Now,
you know about the first one,
the Agriculture X.
that we stuck in the ground and then
i went ahead and got the agriculture
shield which is considerably larger we
stuck that in the ground and i'm like
okay i've gotten reports from other people
telling me that they had some weird you
know black helicopter kind of stuff flying
over
Um,
maybe that stuff has happened when we
weren't here,
but so far we haven't seen any of
that.
Only weird air activity has come from C
one thirties flying over way, way,
way too low.
So, um, yeah,
you punched a hole in the roof and
they're like trying to figure out how to
patch this.
Yeah.
That's what's going on.
I wasn't going to say a whole lot
about it.
I wasn't going to say a whole lot
about it.
And by the way,
I haven't talked to William about this,
but I think we're going to have to
start putting the pimp cast on the pimp
cast channel on YouTube and also on, uh,
on rumble instead of doing it on a
regular youtube channel so folks subscribe
over there check it out because that's
where i think we're going to have to
start doing it because now youtube is
playing games every single time we put up
one of these videos mysteriously right at
a hundred people just jump off unsubscribe
how about that son are you experiencing
any of that
I mean, well,
it would be one thing if you did
it out of the normal topic of your
channel.
Like it's one thing if like,
let's say you have a channel talking about
like,
three D printing or something like that.
And then you do like a front porch
talk similar to what dad is.
Dad's been doing.
and that's like a one-off,
and then you have a bunch of people
dropping off.
But at this point, your followers,
your subscribers,
have to understand at least what this
channel's about.
You know what I mean?
So it's not like they would have signed
off thinking it was about something else
and then signed back off because then they
saw one of your front porch talks.
It would make sense if it happened at
first and it was a one-off thing,
but the fact that you do these every
Sunday and still people are dropping off
every Sunday, that doesn't make any sense.
Other than...
It's not Sunday, son.
It's whenever we go live,
whenever we do these podcasts is the only
time.
I don't have any problem otherwise.
It's whenever we do this right at about
a hundred people.
And folks,
I don't care about subscriptions.
I never have.
I mean,
that's really not my motive for any of
this stuff.
But there may be people out there that
legitimately want this information.
I'm afraid we're just going to have to
do it on the PimpCast channel and on
Rumble.
And then we can give you reminders,
I think, through here,
through the community notes.
I'm not sure exactly how to do that.
And we're always like, keep in mind,
we're always on every audio platform
available, anything,
anywhere you could listen to podcasts.
You can, you can always listen to the,
to the pimp cast and stuff.
And I think there's a way to do
video podcasting on Spotify as well.
I'm not entirely sure if you just link
in this YouTube live stream or from
whether it's from here or the pimp cast
channel or whatever.
Um,
I don't know if you just link that
and,
or if you have to
upload it separately,
but you can always find us on every
audio platform.
So there's that.
So go check us out there.
So some other things going on every single
day, son, I know it's crazy.
Everybody in the Western States are being,
you know, really,
really beat up by a drought,
which I fully believe is one hundred
percent engineered and
talking to Dane Wigington, you know,
it's kind of, man, it's pretty cool, man,
to be able,
that's one thing I love about this
podcast.
It has opened the door in so many
ways to people that ordinarily I would not
be able to approach.
So Dane and I have become pretty good
friends.
And anyway,
everything out West is still in drought.
I mean,
we got Europe just burning down left and
right, looking like Rome and, you know,
ancient Rome just walked all over it.
like Scipio in North Africa.
And, um, out here,
some we're getting rain just about,
honestly,
it seems like every single day we're
getting a rainstorm.
Now I know we live in a,
in a, you know,
temperate rainforest and stuff like this,
but this seems, I mean,
let yesterday it was coming down like cats
and dogs.
And I will say that device, I mean,
despite it being a thunderstorm,
it wasn't over us.
I mean, it wasn't anywhere around us,
but you could hear it in the distance.
Um,
Yeah, so rain every single day.
Other things we got going on around here.
Well, you know,
we're eating the food we grow.
That's exactly what I'm trying to get
everybody else to do out here.
And I know a lot of you are
doing it.
But yeah, we got spinach.
You know,
we're pulling that up out of there.
Cucumbers.
I finally got my first pear off a
tree today.
So we'll be getting a pretty good bumper
crop, I think,
of Asian pears and then some Anjou pears.
And then a number of others.
So pairs, you know, I love those.
So no complaints in that department.
And then also started,
I can't wait to show everybody what I
got going here.
I got, you know, beds full of beats.
And I'm eating for performance these days,
folks.
I really am.
Maybe a little bit too much because I'm
looking at my weight.
I mean, the last time I weighed myself,
I was about one eighty.
Today I weighed myself.
I was one sixty three.
I was last time I was one sixty
three, man.
I had to go get your mom scale
because I'm like, man,
what is going on here?
Yeah, dad,
you got to put on more weight.
Yeah.
I mean,
there was a time I was walking around
at two forty.
So, I mean, yeah,
not in the best shape ever,
but here I am at one sixty three
and I'm like, man,
what is going on here?
So I told your mom, OK, man,
I'm just going to have to start working
out,
putting on some muscle and stuff like this
because I'm becoming a little bit frail
around here,
a little bit too bony for my frame,
I think.
Yeah, your friend,
you need to be bigger for your frame.
Your frame is too big to be one
sixty right now.
Yeah, I'm like one sixty three.
And I'm like, man,
but this thing tells you your visceral
fat, your subcutaneous fat.
I mean,
my visceral fat last time I checked,
it was I mean, it was for me,
it was it was like nineteen something
today.
It was like six, which is really,
really good.
Yeah.
Most people are not even close to that.
But I'm going to be doing some experiments
to see how low I can actually get
that,
but at the same time put on some
real muscle at the same time.
So I'm going to be a hurting unit
tomorrow when – yeah, I started today,
but I'm also going to – I'm struggling
a little bit because ever since I started
discovering fasting –
One of the problems I've been having is
that I really don't eat much anymore.
Anybody that knew me from back in the
day knew I could clear a table.
And once I really, you know,
really understood the whole thing of
fasting,
I might eat once or twice a day,
not even really think about it.
So what I'm going to do,
this is experiment I'm going to do.
And I got it from Tom DeLauer,
I think.
So you basically fast once a week,
thirty six hours,
and then you eat anything you want any
every other day that week for the within
reason.
I mean,
you're not going to go on an all
ice cream diet or you shouldn't.
Or let's say you don't do a thirty
six hour fast.
Maybe you do two twenty four hour fast.
And what this is supposed to do over
a six week time,
just doing this for six weeks,
is that it should reset everything in your
body.
So I'm going to look to do that
and then really try to get in a
number of other calories.
But me walking around at one sixty three,
man, that I asked your mom, I said,
maybe the scale of mine is busted.
I said, where's yours?
And it's at one sixty two.
So I'm like, OK,
it's got to be one of these guys
got to be right.
Yeah,
you're getting close to the victim weight
category.
You got to get that weight.
Yeah,
I just got to get some muscle on
because I haven't done any weight training
in a long, long time.
But I started today,
and I'm going to be hopping and popping
on that.
So some other things we got going.
Yeah, soil saviors, man.
One day I'll put it in the high
tunnel,
and then the other day I'll put it
up here.
And then switching back and forth.
One week I'll do soil saviors.
The other week it's going to be a
biocomplete compost sun.
I will say, though,
I had a lamb that I had to
put down, or no, it died.
Um, it was his bottle baby that died.
I don't know,
maybe a month and a half ago,
maybe not that long,
but I stuck him in the compost pile,
man.
That pile is so doggone active, man.
There ain't nothing but a pile of bones
left in there.
I mean, that's, that's pretty good.
Yeah, I mean,
this pile is uber active in a big,
big way.
So, yeah, be using that stuff.
I need to look at it under the
microscope or better still have your mom
do it if she can.
Do any other things around here?
You know, folks,
for the ones that are thinking about, hey,
do I want this lifestyle?
Remember, repetitive things.
You know, you see these videos out there,
people doing really cool things in the
farm space.
Sadly,
a lot of it is fake or not
legit.
But the things they never talk about are
the tasks that you do every single day.
And for me right now,
this time of year is cutting down that
wheat, that, you know,
breaking out the weed eater and cutting
down silver grass in the places where it
isn't supposed to be.
In fact,
anywhere on this proper property is where
it isn't supposed to be.
Had I had time to really stay on
top of it,
I would have been using the soil savers
and the biocomplete compost back to back
to back to back because the areas where
I've done that, guess what?
It ain't coming back.
So I need to really get hot on
that.
And then other things that we're doing is
we're planting fall stuff out here.
Got beets in the ground.
Remember,
we all we're at three thousand feet so
we can get away with some of that
stuff.
So we got we got beets from seed.
I got them going out there.
And of course, also,
what else do I have?
Oh,
your mom planted some bush beans like two
rows.
And so in between, what am I doing?
planting microgreens.
I don't know why more people aren't doing
this.
I guess I'm the one to come up
with the idea.
I mean,
I haven't seen anybody else do it.
But in the rows, in between the rows,
folks, okay,
I don't know what they're charging for one
of those little plastic containers of
microgreens at the farmer's market.
I want to say, doggone it,
I want to say it's close to ten
bucks.
Ten bucks.
I want to say it's somewhere around,
maybe it might even be twelve.
Anyway,
Why would you go out there and buy
that from an inert medium when you could
go ahead and plant your own microgreens
and they're going to be astonishingly
awesome,
better than anything you could find even
at a place like that because you're
growing it in a sterile medium.
Why not grow microgreens in between your
rows?
And then while you're waiting on the
beans,
which are going to take sixty days to
come up.
Okay, while I'm waiting on that,
I'll be eating up these microgreens in
between the rows, which, by the way,
it's a living, I mean,
it is working beautifully as a living
mulch down there where you can do like
Eric Sider did where he's taking half of
his worm bin, growing microgreens in it,
and then letting the worms have the other
side.
So, you know,
I think it's the best of both worlds.
I can't believe nobody's ever done that
before,
but I'll keep everybody abreast of what's
going on there.
Sorry to go along so long, son,
but what's going on in your world?
No, you're fine.
Well,
I think the reason most people don't do
that is because it requires daily
maintenance and harvest every single day.
Most people just aren't used to going out
there and harvesting what they're going to
eat for the day from the garden.
And I think that's why most people don't
go the microgreens route.
And now, as far as my place goes,
it is impossible to do microgreens right
now because this sun...
is so doggone intense.
The garden is in limbo right now.
We still have plenty of tomatoes and
peppers and we have sweet potatoes and
watermelons and cantaloupes and all kinds
of stuff growing.
It's just the beds that I cleared out
before are kind of in,
they just have a cover crop
growing right now like whatever popped up
after i cleared out the bed is staying
there until we get past this really hot
phase for a minute so probably end of
august going into september once we start
getting shorter days so it's still going
to be as hot it's just going to
be shorter so the plants are having to
deal with as long of a hot day
um less evaporation less heat stress and
stuff like that
That's when I'll put in like stuff for
the fall garden.
But yeah, for right now,
we just got tomatoes, peppers,
sweet potato.
I have some I have a bunch of
potatoes and need to go harvest.
I'm just kind of in a debate right
now of like some of the potatoes that
I have in forty foot rows out at
the demonstration site.
What I'm thinking is if I go through
there and harvest the potatoes,
then I have a bunch of exposed soil
in this very, very intense heat right now.
It's not even that it's super hot.
It's just the sun is very,
very intense right now.
You can even see it on plants like
moringa.
My moringa has been slightly wilting in
the full sun here lately.
Speaking of moringa,
that thing has been blowing up lately.
Last time I was out of town...
I shut off the water,
the automatic watering system out there,
because it was basically raining every
single day.
And earlier this year,
I made the mistake of leaving it on
while it was raining,
and then I had some anaerobic side effects
and stuff like that.
So I turned it off while I was
out of town because it was raining pretty
consistently.
And then since I came back,
it hasn't really rained at all since
coming back,
and I haven't turned the watering system
back on.
And you can see that everything is...
it's pretty it's getting abused out there
the garden the plants the grass all that
type of stuff is getting abused right now
even one of the elm trees that i
have in the back granted they drop leaves
first but they shouldn't be trying to drop
leaves right now and i got leaves falling
off that elm tree in the back so
yeah there's some
And I haven't remediated the soil around
the elm tree.
So there's that aspect, too.
But there's some crazy things going on
with the very, very intense sun right now.
So there's that.
Dane Wigington talks a lot about that.
And even Eric Sider was talking about it,
that it feels so many people are
complaining that it feels like it's
cooking you on the inside.
And the reason why is because of this
lensing effect.
from the garbage they're dropping from the
sky.
Now I will say that here on this
property,
I'm not experiencing any of that like we
did before,
because these devices seem to be actually
working.
So we don't have any of that lensing
effect so far anyway,
maybe I shouldn't have said that out loud.
But if you go to other places,
you feel it,
and that's exactly what's happening.
This particulate matter that they're
dropping
takes the the focal point of the sun
and then acts like a magnifying glass to
so many different people hey thanks for
that thanks for that kind word uh nancy
and she also says my family is finally
realizing they need to call me before
produce shopping and like she said hit
that thumbs up no nancy i think that's
a beautiful place to be
And you're going to be an inspiration,
I think, to everybody else out there.
Okay, you like what I'm giving you here?
Hey, it ain't that difficult, man.
You can do it at your house.
I mean, it's little things like this.
And I think big things.
Because we are definitely heading towards
crisis in terms of our diesel fuel.
There are people talking about it.
You're just never going to hear it on
Fix News or MSNBC.
You're never going to hear it in any
of these places.
But...
everybody needs to encourage everybody
else, um,
to do victory gardens in every possible
way imaginable.
Um,
And I mean, at this point,
it's almost instead of victory gardens,
they're going to label them criminal
gardens.
Speaking of that,
you said at the beginning of the podcast,
my partner in crime, dad,
we're about to for real be partners in
crime this November.
Once they start practicing the Noahide
laws of the same month that they're doing
the draft,
we're going to have some problems.
Yeah.
Well, I'm not going to have any problems.
You're not going to have any problems.
I mean, you're outside the age range.
I'm not talking about the draft part.
I'm talking about the things we've said on
this podcast and them starting to get into
the Noahide.
We've had the Noahide laws for,
what was it, since the, like,
the eighties or nineties or something like
that?
Well, passively.
Yeah.
Passively.
Yeah.
Now they're... Go ahead.
No, no.
Go ahead, son.
All I was saying was, like,
now they're going to be...
What seems to be maybe implementing,
they're going to be looking at it,
maybe implementing some of the Noahide
laws this November, something like that.
But that's not going to be good for
anybody.
No,
that's exactly where we are right now in
the continuum.
But I'll tell you what I've done,
and I kind of alluded to it in
my front porch talk,
is I'll tell you what I've really done.
And folks, I mean, if you know me,
you know how big a deal this is
for me to not do it.
I have sequestered myself away from any
kind of social media outside of answering
questions from YouTube videos or something
like that.
Or maybe I'm watching the YouTube.
Believe me,
if I'm watching any YouTube videos,
it's not political of nature.
It's not any of that in nature.
All it is.
All I'm watching are things that,
you know, like, you know, Tom DeLauer,
like I was saying a moment ago,
things having to do with health and how
to improve your health and, you know,
tips and tricks and whatever,
stuff like that.
Because I think it honestly goes hand in
hand because you just can't grow a simple
garden anymore.
That's just not enough.
You got to know how to chelate this
junk out of you.
We got your mom working with one doctor,
and then we got me doing Morley's,
Morley Robbins, folks,
if you haven't heard him.
You need to go on here and check
it out.
And William,
I'm going to give you some suggestions
after the show regarding a couple of
things that I've discovered.
If you haven't checked out Morley Robbins,
y'all,
you're not going to see it on YouTube.
Go check it out on.
What is it?
Rumble?
Yeah, we got it on Rumble.
Go check out Rumble.
And he even left his phone number at
the end of it.
And he is encouraging people.
to call him up.
There's been a number of people that have
reached out already and said, man,
I can't believe this guy actually answers
the phone.
I mean,
he is world renowned and he's a regular
schmo just like the rest of us out
there.
He just had a problem he wanted fixed.
And anyway,
On that,
if the number if anybody wants his number,
I still got it written down here.
It's a eight, four, seven, nine, two, two,
eight, zero, six, one.
If somebody could type that in the chat,
I'm not signed in on anything on YouTube
just yet.
But eight, four, seven, nine, two, two,
eight, zero, six, one.
And it sounds like we're doxing the dude.
That's not it at all.
He wants people to have his number and
he wants people to reach out so he
can help you with whatever issues you got
going on.
Like my wife has talked to him.
three times so far just in just related
to like the,
her being pregnant and everything.
And he's more than happy to help and
direct you where,
where to go and what to do and
where to get stuff from.
Yeah.
He's, he's really extraordinary at that,
but I'm doing, I'm doing his protocol.
Your mom's doing this other doctor who I'm
going to have on later this month.
And like I said, y'all,
I'm trying to come up with a unified
field theory of the things that are going
to chelate the junk out of us,
number one, keep us healthy,
and a protocol that isn't so convoluted
that nobody can follow it.
That's what I'm trying to come up with.
It's exactly what we did, Sam,
when we came up with our model for
a food forest.
We cut and pasted all the very best
of all the best out there.
How nobody has ever done that before was
astonishing to me.
And we've done it with every other system
that we have out here and it has
worked extraordinarily.
And that's exactly what I'm trying to come
up with because there's a little more
I was a little more involved here.
I feel like I got the good framework,
but that's exactly why we're doing the
experiments that we are to find out
exactly what we can do to keep us,
I mean, in this world of toxicity,
whether it's the EMFs,
whether it's the stuff they're dropping
from the sky,
that things are putting in the food and
the water, all that stuff.
All of this means nothing.
Believe me,
there is nothing I'd rather talk about in
every single show than permaculture.
There's nothing I'd rather talk about
more.
But you'll notice that we've taken more of
a preparedness slant in a lot of what's
going on because I know a lot of
other people aren't paying attention.
And that's where, and, you know,
put bookends on that thing,
is I am in the news these days
maybe thirty minutes out of a day.
Thirty minutes.
I can find out what it is I
need to know,
and then I go back to putting positive
things in me.
And I'm telling you,
it has made a big, big difference.
Staying on my knees.
Every time I drink water, y'all,
every single time I get on my knees
and I thank the Lord.
It's a way to increase.
I came up with that one a while
ago.
It was stacking functions.
Okay, I got to drink water anyway,
but why not take every single time I
drink water to get on my knees and
pray?
So it's it's therapy and it's stacking
functions.
It's doing a whole lot of things all
at the same time.
But I'm finding out things work a whole
lot better when I don't hear five versions
of the same story.
Look, I'm ready.
I'm ready to rock and roll no matter
which way this thing goes.
So I don't need to be inundated with
it all the time.
But
Got to have one foot in there to
know what's going on and know exactly how
to zig when they're zagging.
All right.
So real quick, dad, real quick.
I keep getting or some people keep
commenting like issues with the chat bar.
Like who's your pioneer said it.
There was another person up here that said
it as well.
We have no control over the chat bar,
like whether it's present for the live
stream or whether it's not present for the
live stream.
So if.
If it's not available for you whenever you
get into the live stream,
then it's something on YouTube's end.
It's definitely not us.
People were saying that the chat bar
sometimes isn't there.
A,
they don't get notifications for the live
stream.
But B,
the chat bar isn't available sometimes
when they get into the live stream.
So I don't know.
We don't have control over whether or not
it's available or not.
And if we do have control over that,
it's not anything that we're aware of.
That's for sure.
I don't know how I hit that.
Anyway, one way to get around that,
or at least if you're listening on your
phone, it may not show up,
so you may have to left or right
slide your finger across that thing to get
it to pop up.
I've had that happen a time or two.
Yeah, Glenna says,
almost ten inches of rain,
not counting all the horizontal rain,
two days in north central Florida.
Yeah, so like us,
you guys are getting hit with all kinds
of rain.
And, you know, everybody else isn't.
So this is exactly what the powers that
shouldn't be.
They can call it La Nina, El Nino,
whatever.
They can call it whatever, y'all.
This is weather modification,
and it's being done on a massive scale.
I mean,
I can't even tell you how much of
Europe is burning down right now.
Canadian wildfire, son,
I'd like to know if somebody explained to
me how prevailing winds are taking Canada
away.
fires and sending that south when the
prevailing winds are from the southwest
and to the northeast nobody's explained
that one but um hey yeah well no
the only time anybody ever explains it is
that they say that this upper atmosphere
wind currents is what's causing it to
But you look at those maps and they
ain't pointing that direction either.
Because I remember we did it.
It was years ago when we were talking
about it.
Canada was having fires again.
The smoke was hitting North Carolina.
We did a video on it.
And some of the, I guess,
chat or the comment section,
people were saying like, oh, yeah,
it's upper atmosphere.
Like calling us crazy conspiracy
theorists.
I looked at the map.
It ain't pointing that direction for this
time of year.
I think it was Donna said that the
National Guard got called in before the
wildfire started over in Washington this
time.
Kind of like how FEMA got called in
the day before nine eleven happened.
How that happened.
Yeah,
this is exactly this is exactly how they
do it, y'all.
And they know we live in the United
States of Amnesia.
And most people look,
I'm trying to be polite here.
Look, I'll say something very, very nice.
They're very nice.
There are a lot of nice,
stupid people in this country, okay?
There is no other way I can put
it.
I mean,
we're being poisoned at every level,
but I'm just not going to allow myself
to be consumed with it.
I'm ready,
and I hope this audience is ready.
I mean,
we're doing everything we possibly can,
but it's always going to be the things
you don't see coming.
But, yeah,
just make sure you get all this.
This is part of why we're taking more
of a slant to preparedness because,
frankly,
a lot of farm shows are absolutely –
afraid to cover the things we're talking
about on here.
They won't cover it.
They just simply will not cover it in
any of their farm podcasts.
And then some of the biggest people out
there just, I mean, astonishing to me,
just refuse to even see it.
But that's exactly what happened to Rome
right before the fall, too,
because nobody in Rome wanted to see what
was happening.
All right, EMF Rocks,
ten percent off with promo code Prima.
I was wondering what was in my pocket.
I got that bag.
In fact, I was like, man,
what is just poking me?
Had it in there all wrong.
Anyway, that's the EMF Rocks bag.
And I got my feet on a bag
alongside a grounding map,
which comes from Redemption Shield.
Ten percent off with Prima.
With PERMA on either one of them,
ten percent off with PERMA.
Boy, did I get tongue twisted there.
Soil savers,
we got a link for that down below
for anybody willing.
All right,
so we'll go with some of the good
news right quick.
Check this out.
One weekly walk matched a three-day
routine for cutting belly fat study finds.
Okay, what people are realizing,
and this is another little trick I got
from Tom DeLauer, is that just...
Just walking for ten minutes after you eat
a meal makes all the difference in the
world with what your body does with it.
And so what they're finding out in this
study is that if you just do a
walk, it doesn't even have to be brisk.
If you're out there in the sun and
if you can ground,
it's even going to be even better.
Maybe you're walking with your bare feet
in the park or whatever the case may
be.
It matched a three-day routine.
So naturally,
some people are going to say, okay,
I'm sure there's more
You're probably getting more out of that
three-day routine depending on how this
study was conducted.
But anyway,
it cuts about the same amount of belly
fat just doing it once a week.
So all of you that are thinking, oh,
well,
I'm not going to get a routine because
I can't maintain it.
Well,
I'm sure you can manage one day a
week.
Or let's say you're at work.
Say they give you thirty minutes for
lunch.
Eat while you're walking.
Why can't you?
Yeah.
It's not like you're running.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That is always my entire life.
Eaton standing up.
You can do it.
Yeah, I mean, that's a double-edged sword,
actually, because I would, I mean,
you learn habits like that in the
military, and then you're not careful.
You don't sit down and eat with the
family because you got work you're trying
to get done.
So I'm actually eating standing half the
time.
And in fact, to this day, I mean,
I'm trying to slow down a little bit
more.
And the reason why is that you tend
to inhale your food when you're walking,
you don't chew it properly.
And that's where your digestion begins
right there in your mouth.
In fact,
I got one of my samples back from
this company that Dr. Artis recommended.
And one of my problems is that based
on the test they did is that I'm
not chewing my food enough.
I mean,
and part of that I think is not
slowing myself down long enough to eat a
meal, like sit down, chew every bite,
Because honestly,
I just inhale it half the time thinking,
okay, now I can get back to work.
Just got to slow down a little bit.
But anyway,
that's one thing I don't even know how
I got into that.
But here we are.
All right,
next one here is CDC data warns of
nutrient crisis as ninety-eight percent of
Americans lack optimal omega-three levels.
Okay.
That ain't it.
That ain't it.
What do you mean?
That's not all we're missing.
That's not all.
Ninety-eight percent of the world is
missing.
Yeah, but I mean, that's crazy.
Ninety eight percent of us don't have
enough omega three.
I'm willing to bet mine's on point because
I use some of the best fish oil
money can buy.
And I use like a teaspoon of that
every day.
But also, man,
I'm eating a small fish like three times
a week.
I'm eating fish.
I mean, it's either salmon or.
You know,
my little trick for salmon is I make
sure I get the ocean-caught stuff,
I buy the whole slab,
and then I'll cut it down and then
freeze it and then cook it, you know,
as I go.
So you're actually saving a pile of money
by doing that.
It's actually cheaper than sardines when
you do it that way,
when you buy the whole slab and then
just cook it yourself.
So...
You know,
three times a week I'm eating at least
sardines.
Man, I hate sardines, but I'll eat them.
Herring.
I hate sardines,
but I can eat herring all day long,
along with salmon or trout.
So that's one good way to get some
of those omega threes.
But yeah,
ninety eight percent of Americans lack.
Oh, man, that's that's crazy.
So that's one good way to get it.
At least that's how I'm getting it.
I mean,
how often do you think people are even
eating fish anymore?
like actual real fish probably not at all
i mean by and large if i go
to a restaurant and it's a decent
restaurant
And these days, believe me,
if we spend money to go out and
eat, believe me,
it ain't going to be at no restaurant
where I got to look up to order.
It's going to be at a place where
you look down to order at a menu.
So at least in those meals,
I get to sit down.
But honestly,
if I go to those places and they
have decent fish on the menu,
you can ask your mom.
I'll get it every single time.
I will get fish every single time.
In fact, man,
there's a place down the road, man,
got me jonesing for some of that.
I mean,
it's the best fish and chips I've ever
had.
And yeah, the problem is,
is that they're cooking it in the bad
oil.
It's not like they're cooking it in beef
tallow.
They're cooking it in omega six or nines.
So that's the double edged sword there.
But that's why I buy my fish,
bring it home and either pull it out
of the tin or just cook it right
there on the stove.
Hey,
for those of you guys that hate the
sardines or the herring or just canned
fish in general,
there's a couple of tips because my wife,
she didn't like them.
She learned from Logan over at Sewing
Prosperity that, hey,
you should treat this as a supplement,
not necessarily a
like food.
Um,
but she wasn't a big fan of them
until she tried the smoked herring.
And then that was more tolerable smoked
trout.
Even that, that was really good.
That's just hard to find around here.
You could probably find it pretty easily
where you are dead.
But if you're,
let's say you have like a can of
sardines and you're like, all right,
I know this is good for me.
I just got to stomach it.
A couple of things you can do is
put some you can put a ton of
hot sauce on there if you want to.
You can also put a ton of a
what's it called?
Mustard on there.
Any kind of mustard you like.
It all tastes good on that fish.
You could also put it on crackers if
you wanted to.
You could mix it up and make like
a almost like a tuna salad if you
wanted to as well.
Or you can put some one thing that's
really good is that everything bagel
seasoning on top adds a little bit of
texture as well for you.
But yeah, you can dress it up.
However you want to.
And I saw a comment.
Hey, Alabama,
definitely be careful with what you're
buying.
Like, be careful what it's packed with.
Sometimes it's packed with like sunflower
oil.
Sometimes it's just whatever oil they
could scrape up off the ground.
Try to get it in water if you
can.
Sometimes you can find it in olive oil,
but then you have to be careful where
they're getting the olive oil from.
So just be careful of what it's packed
with and pay attention.
A lot of the times it's packed in
like soybean oil.
So keep that in mind.
Very good point.
I'm glad you pointed that out because it
kind of ruins all the opportunity to get
something really good in you.
So, I mean, man.
But I'm finding out that if you buy
one of those really highfalutin tins of
kippers or herring,
it's actually cheaper to buy a whole slab
of salmon.
If you break it down per pound,
I mean,
you're better off buying the whole doggone
salmon.
I can get wild caught stuff here and
I'll break that sucker down and then I'll
just cook it.
And then, you know, and I don't know,
maybe three ounce portions or whatever the
case may be.
But yeah,
that's one cool way to get it there.
Plus you're getting DHA,
you're getting all these wonderful things
that you're not going to be able to
get otherwise,
especially if you're living, you know,
if you're not,
if you don't have access to a whole
lot of seafood.
All right.
So the final good news story here is,
um,
study links workout variety lowers workout
variety man i don't know who makes these
headlines i swear man they just make it
yeah anyway they're realizing that
The study links workout variety intensity
to lower depression odds,
meaning that if you're like me,
you tend to do the same kind of
exercise and then you got to really,
really consciously push yourself out of
doing that exercise to do something new.
I mean,
let's say it's kettlebells or let's say
you're going to ride a bike or maybe
go for a jog or whatever the case
may be.
They're finding out that when you have
workout variety,
it lowers depression even more than just
the person that goes out for a simple
walk.
If you can go out for a walk,
maybe you want to go out for a
bike ride.
Um, you know, maybe,
maybe walk with some kettlebells, uh, for,
or maybe do a little bit of hit
training, stuff like that.
So they're finding out that people that
add variety to their routine are
historically and provably so much better
than those that don't.
So, uh, you know,
or maybe they want to go for a
swim at the YMCA or,
or whatever the case may be.
If you can switch that up a little
bit.
If you have any depression or anything
like that,
plus it's making your brain work in ways
that are not typical.
I mean, I get walking's easy, man.
You can just walk out the front door
and just keep going.
But there's a place over by us,
by the college, where, yeah,
you can go walk.
But, man,
it is a nightmare because every senior
citizen wants to have a conversation when
I'm working out.
I mean,
you just can't walk up and down that
trail and do a workout,
and it's extremely frustrating for your
mom because, you know,
she's over here trying.
You're trying to be polite,
and at the same time, like, hey,
I'm running here, man.
I'm trying to do something,
and I can't even tell you how many
times along the way.
I mean,
it's one thing to tip your hat or
wave or something, but good night, man.
There's a couple of these guys, man,
that will absolutely.
I mean,
it made it to the point where you
don't even want to go anymore.
Especially,
I know that's frustrating to mom because
mom, I don't think she's ever taken a,
she's never done a casual workout or
anything like that.
It's like she's trying to beat her
previous record every time she goes and
does it.
Like with the ruck or with the walk
or whatever it is, working out,
lifting weights.
It's like she's trying to,
and she definitely doesn't want to be
bothered by anybody while working out.
So yeah,
I imagine mom is very frustrated with
being talked to while she's trying to work
out.
Or that last time she just did recently
another twenty six mile ruck march with
forty pounds on her back.
And, you know,
she was walking up and down that trail.
Man, that in the mountains.
Yeah.
Yeah.
She's doing, you know,
she's doing twenty six miles in one,
you know, eight hours or whatever it was,
maybe seven hours.
You know,
that's stepping it out pretty good.
And you just don't have time for that.
But anyway,
that's that's one of the downsides here
is.
is, hey, for all the seniors out there,
man, look,
I know this is a social thing for
you,
but there are people out there trying to
work out and they can't have a
conversation.
I'm not the only one complaining about
that.
So hopefully there is an etiquette.
There is an etiquette when you're on the
trail.
You see somebody running,
don't stop them to have a conversation.
That's just the bottom line.
I know some shirts you could wear in
order for nobody to talk to you while
you're on that trail from those old senior
citizens.
There's some shirts and there's some hats
you can wear.
It'll stop them all from talking to you.
Oh, yeah.
That's a good way of going about it.
But, yeah, man,
they just – and it'll be the same
guy.
You're like, hey, man,
I'm trying to go for a run here.
And he'll hit you up every single time.
You feel bad for him,
but at the same time,
you're like –
Okay,
maybe I need to find another place to
do this.
All right,
so we don't have anything from Eric.
He is on assignment.
He's traveling.
He's doing some stuff.
Anyway, bond charge,
fifteen percent off with promo code promo.
If you want some of these ball and
blue light blockers like me and William
have, bond charge, B-O-N-C-H-A-R-G-E.
Fifteen, I'm sorry,
fifteen percent off with promo code promo.
All right,
so let's get down to brass tacks.
So we're getting back to more to the
preparedness stuff in this permaculture.
Like I said, folks,
I wish I lived in a world where
all we needed to talk about is
permaculture.
I mean,
PIMP stands for permaculture is my
passion.
And it's true.
I love it.
And I think it's raining again.
Yeah.
As I'm in the studio and I'm like,
I hear this pitter patter, pitter patter.
Sure enough,
it's raining again and there was like no
chance.
So here we go again.
I was going to actually go out and
weed eat after this podcast and go, man,
I've been trying to do this same spot
for a week and I just can't do
it every single time it starts raining.
Anyway,
simple tools I would never be without
because like I said,
we're covering a lot of the preparedness
aspects without going to doom and gloom.
But right off the bat, son,
I'll kick this off.
I know this seems to go without question,
but folks, you are hard-pressed.
Unless I'm flying,
you will never catch me without a knife
and my Leatherman.
And I got them right here in my
pouches.
I mean, it's an ammo pouch.
Everybody thinks I'm, you know,
I got ammo pouches here, and, you know,
I might.
You took two categories.
You took two categories, dad.
All right.
I guess on my end,
I'll give you options, but go ahead.
Okay.
Well, I'm saying at all times,
even like when we flew to El Salvador,
I checked my pocket knife and my, um,
My pouch,
I checked all that stuff in a bag
so I could bring whatever contraband I
wanted in there.
And it was my Leatherman and my knife.
I won't go anywhere without it.
So I'll check that stuff.
And when I got down there, you know,
I put it right back on.
So, I mean,
you just never know where you're going to
wind up.
You never know what you're going to need
it for.
That Leatherman,
I don't think there is a single day
that I don't use that.
And folks,
I got Leatherman when it first came out
back when I was a private in the
Army.
Back in the day,
we were able to go to a couple
of pawn shops outside of Fort Bragg and
get, you know,
in the nature of the work I did
back in the Army, I wanted,
they actually had a Leatherman that had
blasting cap crimpers on it.
Now,
some fool stole that from me and then
they quit making it all of a sudden,
but they did have it once upon a
time.
And yeah,
blasting cap crimpers right there on a
Leatherman.
And believe me,
it got a lot of use back in
those days.
But you just never know what you're going
to need that thing for.
I mean,
you may be in a position where you
need to get out of a vehicle.
You need to bust a window,
and all you've got is that Leatherman that
you can use as some kind of whatever
to break a window out.
That's just as a blunt force instrument.
But you've got your knife.
You've got whatever.
And then I've got a dedicated knife,
which is more like a razor blade for
every other thing.
I never will be caught without those
things.
So, son, there you go.
All right.
So I had multi-tool and I had knives
as categories because those are the two
things that I carry every single day.
But those kind of vary depending on where
I'm going or what I'm doing and things
like that.
So let's talk about knives real quick.
There's a bunch of different options on
knives.
Knives are cool because this is something
that...
Everybody in the world,
no matter what it is you do for
a living,
no matter almost how old you are or
where you live, everybody uses knives.
Not everybody uses hammers.
Not everybody uses saws.
Not everybody uses all these other tools,
but everybody uses knives.
And there's always going to be a knife
that fits your situation perfectly.
I got a couple of examples here.
This is kind of like what dad was
talking about like a utility blade They
make them much better than those long
skinny Stanley like silver Stanley's that
you used to have to carry you can
get just folding Folding utility blades
and stuff like this.
This is from Kaiser.
It's called the drop bear utility but in
this as like a little serrated razor blade
on here as well and
hold longer if it's serrated uh because
the edge effect you just increase the
amount of edge like cutting edge you have
using a serrated knife um and as soon
as it's dull you can just swap it
out and this is a pretty small knife
as as far as you know knives go
here's another smaller knife that's not um
you know, it's pretty small.
It can fit in your fifth pocket.
If you have small pockets or women,
you guys get robbed on pockets.
This is a Civivi Yonder.
If you want to go with that.
And then there's like fixed blade options.
Like this is a,
this is something that I would use.
Like if I'm going to the demonstration
site or I'm going to be outside doing
a lot of like heavier duty tasks and
things like that,
but it's a full blown fixed blade.
Um, this one's from Dawson knives.
Mom and dad got this for me a
couple of years back, but this is a,
Awesome.
Heavier duty knife.
And they have like a knife for whatever
application you need.
So no matter what it is you do
for a living,
no matter what it is you do on
a day-to-day basis,
there is a knife and a price range
and a material range that fits your task.
Now, as far as multi-tools go,
there's just as many options.
Well, not as many options,
but there's options with
Multi tools as well.
It can be as simple as like a,
you know,
little Victorinox just like this.
I think this is a Huntsman.
I think that's what the model number is.
They all kind of look alike to me.
Here's the Leatherman that I carry.
Dad talks about Leatherman.
I love Leatherman.
But before too long,
I think they're going to get taken out
by other companies similar to like Roxxon
right here.
where you can literally pick what tools...
Now,
they're kind of big and clunky right now,
but you can literally pick what tools you
want to put in these multi-tools.
So you can customize it to whatever it
is you specifically do.
And one thing that I wanted to point
out is that these guys, Roxxon,
has the literal best scissors you can ever
find on a multi-tool.
These things actually work.
You can cut the Bible paper with it
if you wanted to.
Yeah, it just works fantastically.
So yeah, there's multi-tools, knives,
and multi-tool options depending on what
you're doing.
Like here's a lighter weight version
multi-tool,
and then here's like a heavier weight
multi-tool.
And the cool thing about Roxxon is that
you can build the exact multi-tool with
the tools that you need.
So pretty interesting.
I need to check them out.
That was something you pointed out a while
back to me.
I'm just so darn busy.
I haven't done it.
I would love to be able to get
one.
The only thing,
and I wonder if I could reach out
to him and find this out.
Yeah.
I'm sorry.
I'm hearing some feedback on mine.
Here's one thing I would love to reach
out and find out is if the one
complaint,
because
I'm a butcher, and so are you.
I want something.
I want a bone saw that they put
on a doggone Leatherman.
I tried to reach out to Leatherman once
upon a time.
I don't think it's a bone saw, son.
You can use it as a bone saw.
Um, it's a little bit more aggressive,
but, uh, well, no, actually they do.
Uh, they have those, uh,
like if you have a, they have a,
uh, sawzall attachment, uh,
option whenever you're building it,
they have like a sawzall attachment option
and you can put in your own, uh,
sawzall or even they have a smaller one
for jig saws and stuff like that.
But you could find like a boning saws
size,
like a metal blade or something like that
and use that.
I mean, I,
I butchered a whole pig with a Leatherman.
And I can't believe that video never got
watched.
I mean,
I was trying to show people the
versatility of a device,
of something like that.
But if they could somehow get some kind
of bone saw,
because if they can get somehow get a
bone saw, I mean, I probably,
when you get a chance,
send me a link to them because I
want to reach out to them.
I'll do the best promotion video they ever
seen because I'll do a whole animal.
And this is exactly why I did that
video to show you the value of a
multi-tool.
things didn't exist before the nineties
y'all,
at least not outside of Swiss army and
Leatherman came along and I think they
just put them under in so many different
ways.
So man,
I didn't expect to talk about a lot
of this stuff, but man,
I'm telling y'all you can,
I wouldn't be caught without either one.
Okay.
So let me jump out into the next
one.
Cause I know we're running out of time
here and it doesn't even have to be
the things that are on you.
But for me, a shovel,
You know,
not only could it be a one long
handled tool that can do a whole lot
of things, you can plant trees,
obviously dig swales if you had to.
I've done it with a shovel before in
Texas.
Move compost, bury fence posts,
harvest root crops, even fight fires.
And you know what?
Worst case scenario,
you can use it as a weapon.
There were Joes in Vietnam that killed
Viet Cong with E-tools, entrenching tools.
I mean,
obviously not the best use for it,
but what I'm saying is all of the
above, a shovel is something.
And the reason why I'm bringing up a
shovel is I just threw one to the
dump.
And I was talking to Spirko about this,
Jack Spirko.
It's supposed to have a hickory handle,
and we've been through two of these
hickory shovels.
You ain't telling me I broke a hickory
handle shovel.
Ain't happened.
And the reason why I like a wooden
handle shovel is that when you got your
bare hands on it,
you're grounding with everything you do.
Even though you may have boots on,
every time your hands touch that wooden
shovel, that wooden blade,
you're being grounded every single time.
But when you have a fiberglass blade or
handle, it ain't happening.
But so yeah,
that's our planned obsolescence at work.
But anyway, a shovel, that's my next one.
Well, on the note with the hickory handle,
at least with the hickory handle,
that's something that you can replace if
you want to and keep the same shovel
head with a fiberglass handle.
You ain't doing that.
Not without either getting potential
splinters or having to heat stuff up and
all that crap.
So that's another.
Yeah, but that is odd.
They must be putting balsa wood in there
or something like that.
If you keep breaking hickory handles,
especially if they're brand new.
Um, my next tool is, uh,
going to be like a notebook and pen.
Um, I carry,
I have this around with me everywhere.
Now dad mentioned the shovel.
I focused more on stuff that I could
fit in this backpack right here.
This is my general, wherever I'm going,
I typically have this backpack not too far
from me.
Um, and I don't treat like a, uh,
a particular vehicle as an EDC carrier or
anything like that,
because I'm in all kinds of different
vehicles all the time.
Sometimes I'm in my truck,
sometimes I'm in my wife's car,
sometimes a lot of times I'm in rental
cars.
And instead of moving everything from one
vehicle to the next,
I kind of keep everything that I'm going
to need in an emergency in the backpack.
And one of those things is a notebook
because I always I'm always constantly
writing stuff down, taking down notes,
writing down my plan for the day,
whatever it may be.
This notebook isn't too far from me.
And I have I keep two different or
two pens just in case one goes out.
I have another one that I can use.
And then I have some in the backpack,
like backup pencils and pens and Sharpies
and markers and stuff like that in the
backpack.
in case I need any of those,
but a notebook.
Some people use the notes on their phone.
That has never stuck with me.
That's never,
I don't like being on my phone anyway.
So for me to have to access my
phone just to get to my notes,
I don't want to do that.
So,
and also I remember it a lot better
if I write it down in a notebook
versus typing it into the phone.
So
I don't use the notes on my phone.
I know it has all these different
abilities and things like that and
reminders that automatically set.
There's a bunch of gadgets and gizmos when
it comes to the notes on your phone.
But for me,
it does not beat just having a regular
notepad and pen or pencil,
whatever it may be.
So this this is one of the things
that I guess this is my like external
brain right now.
I write out write out everything I need
to know in the notebook for the day.
Yeah, good stuff.
I'm with you in a hundred percent
agreement right there.
I've been, in fact, your mom's like,
did you leave your phone here?
Yeah, because I'm trying, you know,
little things like when you go into a
store,
do you really need to bring your phone
with you?
I mean, it's little things like that.
That's where you can start.
Say, okay,
I'm going to go in this grocery store.
I got the list I snatched off the
fridge and that's exactly how we roll.
So yeah.
Hey, hey, Alabama Sam, repost that video,
Billy.
You know what?
I think I might just go ahead and
have to do that.
I have to dig it up.
I think you're talking about the one with
the Leatherman.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'll have to dig that thing up,
but I, man,
that's the one thing I need to get
on there is a bone saw.
All right.
So my next one is going to be
a reliable cordless drill slash.
Now they've come out, you know,
when I first got in the trade,
there were no cordless drills and the ones
that they did have were not wonderful.
They're mostly DeWalt.
I mean,
they got the job done a little bit,
but the batteries were not good.
Now,
If you ask me,
Milwaukee makes the best stuff.
There ain't even a close second.
And I like how they do the batteries.
They don't play games like DeWalt and some
of the others.
Back in the day, DeWalt's what I used.
But when I discovered Milwaukee, I'm like,
okay, that's the only way I roll.
The reason why I'm saying that,
you can do so much.
I can drive, for example,
the gear that's on my worm compost bin.
It drives a ram up and down,
and it basically serrates everything
the compost the the worm juice at the
bottom and drops it out for me okay
well you do all that with the battery
drill i mean think about all the other
things you can do out there building a
fence raised bed uh hanging gates
constructions i mean but look if you think
you're gonna buy one of these little
cheapos from walmart i got news for your
nephew you're gonna you're gonna you're
gonna pray for the mercy of death dealing
with those things because they are awful
The battery technology is awful.
Everything about it is awful.
That's why I use nothing but it.
I mean,
they get another better brand out there
than Milwaukee.
I'll go with it.
But I love how Milwaukee has decent
batteries.
You can even get the jumbo batteries.
But that is a game changer.
You may want to go Amish style.
I get it.
But the cool thing about those cordless
batteries is that you can charge them up
from a very meager solar system.
That is a combat multiplier for the
purists out there to say, oh,
I'm just going to do everything by hand.
Okay, that's fine if you're so inclined,
but if you can accelerate,
this guy I know in the permaculture space
that wanted to do everything off-grid,
I think you know him too, William,
wanted to do everything off-grid.
I'm like,
why wouldn't you use commercial power to
do the heavy lifting for you than if
you want to be off-grid because it was
available to him?
but you just have people that just see
short-sighted that way.
I'm not one of them, but anyway,
battery drill.
Right.
I think that was,
that's an awesome addition.
Cause that just, I mean, yeah,
I can drill a hole with a whole
auger and bit, you know, hand crank setup,
but how many holes can I drill with
a battery drill?
And the amount of time it takes me
and the skill and the amount of time
it takes to learn the skill to do
it by hand.
Yeah.
I think that's,
I think that's a fantastic idea.
Now remember guys,
I focus on more things that I carry
on my person or within my backpack.
Uh,
Things like that.
But the next one is my...
Rarely do you ever catch me in public.
In legal states where I can do this
legally, guys,
rarely do you ever see me with...
And I'm not armed to some extent.
Every single time,
especially if I'm with my family,
even if I'm by myself,
no matter where I go,
if you see me outside,
even if I'm in my backyard,
I'm armed in my backyard.
I'm armed in the front yard.
Wherever I go, I'm armed all the time.
And that's kind of...
I mean, I hope I never,
ever have to use this outside of like
pests and stuff like that.
But it's kind of the, you know,
nation that we're in right now,
the state of things that we're in right
now.
Dad, what are you laughing about?
You laughing about the Homestead Twins?
Yeah.
And I know I'm already going to be
embarrassed when I tell the answer,
but go ahead.
Yeah, that was it.
I just wherever you can,
wherever possible.
And also, here's another thing.
As far as the locations where it's illegal
to carry a gun.
I just don't go.
I just don't go to those places.
Um, so yeah,
a lot of people talk about trying to
sneak in your,
your gun to these illegal spots or how
to get away with it, stuff like that.
Just stop supporting them.
Like, uh,
I'm talking about specifically like stores
where they have the no gun sign on
their window.
Stop going there.
I think the B place in Weaverville, uh,
had that no gun sign on their,
on their door or something like that too.
So,
Just keep that in mind.
I remember accidentally driving into
Illinois, not realizing, man,
I got a whole freaking arsenal up in
here, man.
And I'm like, oh, shoot.
And I couldn't get out of there quick
enough.
But like you said, I will.
I'll drive around a whole state if I
have to.
No, Homestead Twins,
these guys crack me up.
He says, Pip,
I know you didn't use that Swiss tool
I sent you.
Here's the problem I have.
I'm just,
I criticize my dad about this all the
time, but I'm the same exact way.
When somebody gives me something that I
know is absolutely awesome,
I don't want to use it.
I got it sitting there.
It's right there in the nightstand.
Well, down in the room,
it's in the nightstand down there.
And I'm like, man,
this thing is so doggone sweet.
I don't even want to take it.
I don't even want to take it out
of the pouch because,
but I know that's the whole reason why
you sent me that thing.
I use this cheapo.
I got it right here with me right
now.
I keep using this cheapo
Yeah.
Leatherman that I got in here because I
don't care if I mess this thing up,
but that's exactly why you sent it to
me.
But my dad,
it used to drive me crazy.
Every time you give him something,
he'd never use it.
It was like a museum back in his
room.
So I just got him stuff.
I knew he would eat.
So I get him a Pepperidge farm box
or something like that,
that I knew he would absolutely eat.
And here it is.
I just turned into my own dad in
that way, in that.
You know,
when somebody gives me something, man,
it's like a keepsake to me.
I don't want to use it, but man,
I'm really going to have to knock the
dust off that thing.
I did use it a couple of times.
And then I was like, man,
this thing is too doggone sweet to be
messing up, man.
I'm going to put it over here.
And that's exactly what I did.
Homestead twins.
Don't feel bad.
I got dad a Leatherman art,
which is still the platform he uses.
He doesn't even use that one.
So yeah, dad is stuck with his,
what is the Leatherman rebar or something
like that?
It's a cheapo, but it's got,
but I'm like, man,
I really need to get out here.
And, uh, the one they sent me, boy,
that thing is the cat's meow, son.
I ain't lying.
I mean,
this thing would make breakfast for you
easily.
Uh,
I need to go ahead and break the
dust off that thing because that's why
they gave it to me.
I'm just,
I'm too much like my dad in that
way.
So I got to, man, yeah,
I'll definitely get it done.
All right,
my next one on the list is,
this isn't even, it isn't that important,
but it is.
And I'm going to say a tape measure
and a level.
And for me, my eyeball is, I mean,
I know you think I'm joking when I
say this, but my eyeball,
having done the work I've done for so
many years,
is calibrated where I can tell plumb and
level just by looking at it.
And I mean, pretty darn close.
I'm going to be in that bubble every
single time just by looking at it.
And when you do the kind of work,
you know,
where you're dealing with those kinds of
things on a daily basis,
you don't necessarily need that.
But there's a whole lot of people out
there buying these lousy tape measures
they get from Walmart.
Do not do that, man.
Go get yourself a really,
really decent tape measure and be sure to
have more than one because it's one of
those things.
Back in the day when I got in
the electrical trade,
they didn't even let you use a metal
measuring tape.
You had to use a wooden rule.
To this, I'm talking to Con,
you got to fold up and it's six
feet long.
There was a reason they did it that
way back in the day as an electrician
because you're messing with electricity.
You don't want things that are going to
conduct and get you Kentucky fried.
So we use wooden rules a lot of
ways.
And like I said, to this day,
there are wiremen electricians that I know
that still use those things.
And for a time, I did too.
If nothing else,
I'd get a wooden rule because it has
so many other uses that you could use,
but also a level.
whether it's a line level,
whether it's a torpedo level,
whether it's a forefoot level,
whatever the case may be,
those are fundamental tools that you need
to be able to put up a structure
that's going to stand up where it looks
level and plumb and it should be all
those things to be adequate.
All right, son, go ahead.
I mean, on the level part,
you can even learn how to make a
water level with some clear hose if you
want to.
Yeah, those are important.
The next thing on my list is one
thing that I carry around with me
everywhere are these Knifex vice grips.
And I know that seems like overkill.
And I know that seems like it's too
much pocket space to dedicate to one tool
that has one job.
I'm breaking the...
Who's the good eats guy again?
The...
Alton Brown rule.
I'm breaking the Alton Brown rule.
But these things are one of the handiest
things I have in my pockets.
I use them for all I use them
all the time,
especially in combination with like a
Leatherman.
I have two.
I have the needle nose pliers with these.
And then I have the channel locks with
the Knifex channel locks.
And then I don't know what kind of
metal that they use in the teeth.
but it's harder than anything else you're
going to, uh, bite down on.
Um,
which is the downside of it is that
it'll mar anything that you're going to
bite down on it with,
but it has really,
really good grip and it has directional
teeth.
So as long as you know,
which direction you use channel locks,
you're always going to get a good grip.
Even if the head is completely stripped
out, even if you're ground,
even if you're grabbing like, um,
just a rod, you still get really,
really good grip with this.
In fact, I did the video,
it was years ago,
but I was saying like,
it has such good grip and it's so
handy and ergonomic and bites down well
that, you know,
if my truck wasn't so doggone heavy,
I could pull my truck with it.
I later put it in neutral and I
did pull it a little bit, um,
or not heavy,
but if it was on a level surface,
I could pull the truck with it.
And I grabbed the whole of the,
hold of the ball on the back.
And then I was able to move it
a little bit, uh,
just with using these.
So yeah, these seems like overkill.
I would recommend just, yeah.
Nancy said,
are they harder than woodpecker lips?
Yup.
They're harder than woodpecker lips.
I would recommend just getting a small
pair of channel locks.
These are not the smallest ones that they
make.
I think these are the,
seven and a quarter inch ones.
Um,
I would recommend getting a pair and then
just keeping it in your pocket for a
week and see how often you use it.
I found out I use it pretty doggone
often.
A lot of the times.
In fact, I think the ply,
these are a better option than the needle
nose pliers on a, on a, um, uh,
Leatherman most of the time.
Um, these just grip better.
They they're more ergonomic.
Uh,
they're faster for me to reach half the
time and yeah,
they're just a better option in my
opinion.
Yeah, I like the baby locks too.
I know Jack likes somebody in the chat.
Yeah, hey, hey,
Alabama was talking about the one Jack
Spierko promotes.
I just don't like that curved head on
those.
I like old-fashioned channel locks.
What brand is it?
Channel lock brand is the one I use.
No, the one that Jack is talking about.
I'm not sure.
It might be the very same brand.
I'm not sure.
My last one's going to be,
and this is going to sound crazy,
but think about it, a five-gallon bucket.
Lots of them.
That's something I'll never be caught.
I mean, what do you use it for?
Harvest basket?
Tool carrier?
In fact, when I was in the trade,
that's exactly what I used was a
five-gallon bucket.
It could be a feed bucket.
It could be a stool.
compost hauler.
I mean,
these are things I've just done in the
last couple of days.
I mean,
there's a bucket of compost on the porch
for your mom to finish up those beds
out back.
Compost toilet.
Composting toilet.
Well, I wouldn't, I don't,
I'm using it for multi purposes.
So I don't necessarily,
I wouldn't necessarily use it for that.
If this is something I'm using for up,
it could be a mixing container.
I mean, a seat, you know,
turn it upside down,
but do not ever buy them from Lowe's.
The Lowe's buckets are made with planned
obsolescence in mind.
Get them from Tractor Supply.
Get them from somewhere else,
but do not get them from Lowe's.
In fact,
I need to do a nasty video and
call them out because I know that is
just planned obsolescence.
If you can get a metal one,
it probably wouldn't be a bad idea.
I mean,
it could be an emergency water carrier.
It's probably the most versatile item on
the farm.
It really is.
A five-gallon bucket.
I was sitting here making up some compost
extract, and I was like, man,
think about all the different things you
do with these buckets.
And this is exactly why I'm so irritated
with Lowe's for making those buckets.
They just fall apart.
They chip apart.
And who even knows about the microplastics
in them?
So yeah, definitely,
definitely a five-gallon bucket.
Yeah, I got to agree with that.
My next one is going to be,
this is going to be pretty much tailored
to the individual,
but it's like set up little EDC pouch
kits that you can throw it in a
bag of like,
you can do this with first aid stuff.
You can do this with,
you can tailor it to whatever it is
you do.
Like if there's things that you might need
that are too big or too bulky or
it's too much to fit in your pockets,
throw it in like a little EDC bag
or something like that and then throw it
in a plastic
like a backpack, something like that.
It's not things that you use every single
or a bunch of times throughout the day,
but it's enough use or it's an extreme
of an emergency to have it on you
just in case you need it and stuff.
Like one of these,
I got a band-aids and stuff like that
in them.
I've got some rescue shears.
There's chapstick in here.
There's markers in here.
There's band-aids,
there's an extra notepad with an extra pen
and pencil if I want it.
I have an extra backup knife in here,
flashlight, another Swiss Army knife,
knife sharpening tool, a file,
all kinds of random stuff.
Anything that you might need occasionally
or let's say you have some extreme
allergies and you need like an EpiPen.
You can set up one of these bags
with an EpiPen with any additional things
that you might need in case of an
emergency and things like that.
The point of this isn't to carry it
directly on your person.
You don't want to be one of those
guys.
You don't want to be one of those
people that has like a Batman utility belt
and you're not a cop.
But it's something that you can throw in
like a backpack, something like that.
Or if you have a purse,
you can carry around a purse and throw
this little EDC kit bag in your purse
if you want to.
Whatever it may be,
set up like a little kit that is
tailor made for you.
And then you'll have whatever it is you
need.
at any point and there's a bunch of
youtube videos on it talking about how to
set up or things you should think about
when setting up like a little edc bag
or whatever it may be um here's something
that i keep in there five fifty cord
rolled up five fifty cord and then i
have like a zip tie wrapping around it
so it doesn't unspool on me i have
things like a lighter in there as well
um just because like
Five fifty cord in a lighter goes hand
in hand.
As soon as you cut that five fifty
cord,
you need to melt it to an extent.
You can even put things like flashlights
in there if you want to.
This one's interesting because it has a UV
effect.
I don't know how well you guys are
seeing that.
I can't really see much with my
red glasses,
but it has a UV light on there.
That's cool.
Especially whenever you,
if you're on the road a lot and
you have to rent a hotel room for
the night,
you can kind of get an idea of
where you should and shouldn't be in that
room using the little UV light if you
want to.
Also,
there's like a little laser pointer on
there as well.
You guys can see it on the chalkboard
in the back.
Dad would have loved that when I was
a kid or every time we go to
a zoo because dad likes messing with the
animals and getting them to dance for him
and everything.
But
Yeah,
set up like a little EDC pouch for
yourself.
Something that's tailor made to you if you
have kids,
things that your kids might need.
Or if you have a spouse,
something that your spouse might need or
things that you use occasionally,
but not often enough to keep it in
your pocket.
Yeah, a couple of other – yeah,
Juby Joe, I'm glad you pointed that up.
You know, Uline,
they probably get some pretty good buckets
over there.
That's where all the bone sauce that we
ship out.
You know, we use Uline.
They're reliable.
I just wish they would ship stuff a
little more ergonomically.
And then Nancy points out also no Harbor
Freight either in addition to Lowe's.
So, yeah,
I'm glad you mentioned that because there
are some things I get from Harbor Freight
like –
Hey, man, you want a really,
really good deal on Sawzall blades?
I'm going to go through them anyway, man.
That's a really good,
especially pruning blades.
You go to Lowe's and buy pruning blades
for your Sawzall.
They are going, man,
they are going to mop the floor with
you.
But you can go over there at Harbor
Freight for something like that.
Man, I'll just get the whole dog.
I'll get everything they have there.
And that's what I'm talking about.
Yeah.
Bakeries and stuff like that.
And restaurants learning to grow,
learning to grow guy.
That's a really good place because nine
times out of ten,
they're going to be food grade and food
grade are not the ones that are breaking
down.
So that's exactly the exact kind of places
you want to go.
Where's that one place to sell subs and
the giveaway buckets?
Firehouse.
Firehouse.
That's a good place.
I don't think you get lids with them,
but.
That's a good place to – because all
the firehouse buckets I got, just fine.
All the ones I got from Panera,
just fine.
Now, the handle,
they got those plastic handles on there.
They don't really hold up very well.
But anyway, yeah,
we went a lot longer than I intended
to, folks.
But this is – we're going to try
to cover a little more preparedness than
we have in the past,
and we'll try to slink back and talk
more about permaculture as well because
the problem that we're having –
Oh, my goodness, man.
The problem that we're having in a big,
big way is things are going sideways in
so many different ways.
And we got to be ready.
You got to stay alert,
stay alive in so many different ways.
And, oh, yeah, Homestead Twins,
I will tell you that that bag you
guys made,
Michelle uses that thing.
She uses it like a purse.
It is her favorite bag without a doubt.
So they made this bag.
I don't know what they made it, man.
It was like the stuff on Wolverine
skeleton.
You could put anything in this bag.
We go to the grocery store.
She got the bag.
We go to the farmer's market.
She got the bag.
I mean, this bag is like,
like I said, she'll carry that bag.
So, yeah,
that makes up for me not carrying that
letterman.
But I'm going to make it an absolute
effort.
I'm going to get down here,
and I'm going to put that thing on
my hip right next to my whip.
Guaranteed, y'all.
I'm going to get that thing worn,
and I'm going to wear it out.
And I know it's just going to absolutely
kill me just scuffing that thing up
because it's so doggone cool.
It's got so many cool things on it.
Anyway, I'm going to get that done.
All right, y'all.
Hopefully that was a blessing to you.
Crazy,
crazy world that we got going on right
now, y'all.
And it's getting crazier.
So be thinking about all these different
preparedness trips.
tricks.
Until next time, stay alert.
Stay alive.
Listen to the earth, they got us.
Black seeds of change.
Watch the world spin.
From the smallest sprout to the harmony
begin.
In the cycle of life,
where the magic's alive.
Turn it to the beat.
Feel the fire inside.
Go baby, do, do, do.
Do, do, do, do.
So much wisdom.
