[SPEAKER_05]: Remember to click the Amazon link at T.M.O.S.
[SPEAKER_05]: podcast.com before you shop.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's that easy.
[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now, on with the show.
[SPEAKER_13]: Ah!
[SPEAKER_13]: 60 minutes will be coming up following football.
[SPEAKER_13]: Followed by murder.
[SPEAKER_13]: She wrote.
[SPEAKER_04]: Michael Mara, radio entertainment.
[SPEAKER_04]: You can listen to the Michael Merucho at tmospodcast.com or anywhere fine podcasts or fun.
[SPEAKER_04]: Welcome to our show.
[SPEAKER_09]: Just play the hell out of the- It's got to be focus.
[SPEAKER_09]: This is good.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's the Michael Merucho.
[SPEAKER_04]: With Michael Merucho.
[SPEAKER_04]: Bye!
[SPEAKER_04]: Josh Roca.
[SPEAKER_04]: Josh!
[SPEAKER_04]: And Rob's speedwack.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, Rob!
[SPEAKER_04]: It's a special jar episode.
[SPEAKER_04]: Now, here's Josh and Rob.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I forgot that the jar show-open has different actualities in it.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, it's a little different.
[SPEAKER_17]: I've also thrown off by the clip you played before the intro because the comma confused me as well sometimes with how long the pause in the murder she wrote.
[SPEAKER_03]: That is actually from a documentary about Pat Summerall, where they talk about how the longer murders she wrote ran, the longer he paused, that it got to be a thing that they'd laugh about in the truck.
[SPEAKER_17]: So it's something he was doing in purpose.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, let's listen to that again, because anyone who ever watched CBS football knows this.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love that.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's great.
[SPEAKER_17]: He says murder with the proper telling like intrigue.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's perfect.
[SPEAKER_03]: I got a chance to meet Pat summer all once and all he asked me was, Where's jerky?
[SPEAKER_03]: And I said, huh?
[SPEAKER_03]: For jerky?
[SPEAKER_03]: For jerky?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I said, well, I thought, God, I guess when you play the 1960s together, you have nicknames.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thursday, action, welcome to the micro-marish show with a Josh and Rob.
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess we should lead off with an announcement that new formatics Thursdays are going to belong to you and me.
[SPEAKER_03]: And when I say you and me, I don't mean the listener and me.
[SPEAKER_17]: I mean Josh and me, but the listeners don't belong to the listeners.
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, on the Thursdays, get ready to, all you jarheads can open the jar, because it's a Josh and Rob show.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's kind of a producer's club preview, yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, someone says, uh, I did not pay for the producer.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the free producer's club.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is what this is the free sample.
[SPEAKER_03]: But we won't start charging them.
[SPEAKER_17]: But everything that distracts us in the producer's club.
[SPEAKER_17]: Now Thursdays is our chance.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, there are certain, certain things we're going to have, there are certain things that we're going to have to get like used to.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like for example, before the show, it's going to become commonplace if I ask you, are we going to read commercials?
[SPEAKER_03]: Or are we going to have all pre-records?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because today I forgot to ask.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: What would you like to do?
[SPEAKER_03]: We can do pre-records.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so you can handle that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, great.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we'll do pre-records today.
[SPEAKER_03]: Then no need to print out copy.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's good.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's very, very good.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is exciting.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I know there has been some heat on the less than the sites that are not dedicated to praising.
[SPEAKER_03]: the micro-marish show.
[SPEAKER_03]: There are some there, some celebrate the show, some enjoy the show, some do not.
[SPEAKER_03]: And those of do not, there have been complaints about the auction that people have not received their items yet from the auction, and also wasn't there a complaint that someone got charged right away?
[SPEAKER_17]: Yes, yes, you got charged right away, imagine that, just like any other
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, like Amazon or Yeah, see or God forbid you are playing to Amazon that I paid and my product is not arriving until Saturday.
[SPEAKER_03]: Dear Mr. Basos jerk, I have a problem with the fact that I ordered carabiners and I was charged before they arrived.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I did just buy carabiners by the way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because I have everyone needs them.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're gonna go, well, I got no, no, no, I got little ones because I have keys all through my desk I needed to keep my keys together and I don't have long enough fingernails to use a standard keychain ring You know the one I mean oh, yeah, and you like to clip them on the side of your pants And be like the tander walking around.
[SPEAKER_03]: I do.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like a Rudy the repair man if you want to make a reference from 80 years ago But yes, the auction items.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, have all been shipped.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yes, far as we know
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I know I should go mine.
[SPEAKER_17]: I know I shipped all mine.
[SPEAKER_17]: And remember, some of them were being custom-made.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's right.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know it's going to be the hardest item to ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I thought about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was going through the list.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is that hat?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because technically, it's going to require a hat box.
[SPEAKER_17]: Which is square box, is fine.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, yeah, but I mean, that's a pretty big hat.
[SPEAKER_03]: I remember the hat that my, the box that my top had arrived in.
[SPEAKER_03]: I should have saved it, actually, because you know, good for shipping, but whoever it was James Amado who purchased the hat, right?
[SPEAKER_17]: I believe it was someone else who then purchased it for James.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, in honor of James Amado, so I don't know if it's a surprise or not.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, well then, my mouth is, uh, nobody here what I just said.
[SPEAKER_17]: How are we doing so for good, but in any case, I, everything, you're a post office guy, you go to post office all the time because of your business, but my post office is different than your post office in what way.
[SPEAKER_17]: Well, because I don't go to a standard post office, I go to an auxiliary sorting post office.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so it's like a substation and does it also like got subway sandwiches and and a Starbucks.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, was it in a strip mall?
[SPEAKER_17]: Is it a free standing building?
[SPEAKER_17]: It's in a grocery store, but they took over the grocery store to all grocery store building.
[SPEAKER_17]: But it's now where all the mail for like my neighborhood comes to and sort it and put it on different mail trucks there.
[SPEAKER_17]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_17]: And they have one door where they let me go and drop off packages.
[SPEAKER_17]: You can't buy shipping.
[SPEAKER_17]: You can't talk to someone for help.
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, it's just a drop off.
[SPEAKER_17]: You drop off and they, but you hand it to someone and they scan it for you, but but if you need any of the normal post office services, they will not help you do they have to do they have the machines where you can like go in and buy postage and drop off.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so regarding post offices, I've learned a lot about post offices in my adult years now.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll say this from the word go.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love post offices.
[SPEAKER_03]: Don't know why.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just love the old timiness of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you go to a real
[SPEAKER_03]: normal post office.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not much different than it was on little house on the prairie.
[SPEAKER_03]: You bring in your stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: You wait in line.
[SPEAKER_03]: You talk to a disinterested clerk.
[SPEAKER_03]: They take care of you and you leave.
[SPEAKER_03]: The Leesburg post office is cool because it is old enough that the post office boxes are converted from the kind that actually had combination dials on the
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, like the big brass front now, they're keys, but they used to be the combination.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love my post office.
[SPEAKER_17]: And they've probably changed the blue boxes, like they did mine, where they've now welded a piece on the front of it, so you can only put letters in it instead of full port-down flap, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Most of my post office knowledge that came as a grown-up came from the P1 of all P1, Sharon Bailey, who is high up in the post office business, and she was the one that arranged it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now the massive post office, anyone in the D.C., Northern Virginia area will know that Mary Field.
[SPEAKER_03]: which is essentially the, I believe the, uh, sort of the annex of Galax Road, Route 50 and Lee Highway, that's where the big, big post offices.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the, that's the, that's the mama.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_17]: That's where you want tax day.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly, and that's where you have the local news guy making pancakes or handing out buffering or doing whatever they do Chick-fil-a coupons.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, also not really pertinent to the story, but Mary Field is where the old drive-in theater was the Lee Highway Drive-in where Legend has it I was conceived
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's a great, there's no point.
[SPEAKER_03]: What's that field now?
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, town homes.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's something technology, really.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think there might be a movie theater there, but it's not a draw.
[SPEAKER_03]: So please, no screwing in the movie theater.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the policy.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the big post office, it got to be great because when we started to really move fruit cakes, I guess like nine, 10 years ago, and we were trying to figure out the best way to mail them, the first system was flawed.
[SPEAKER_03]: in which we actually baked the fruit cakes in the bakery in Maryland, shipped them back, brought them back by hand to podville media where we box them and then took them by hand cart one block away to the post office and dropped them off.
[SPEAKER_03]: This was a flawed system because we're moving them too much.
[SPEAKER_03]: So Sharon Bailey got involved and she says, how about this?
[SPEAKER_03]: box them up in a huge box, you can just drop them off at Maryfield.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I said, how does one do this?
[SPEAKER_03]: And she phone to head and like at 10 p.m. We could drive into the Maryfield post office through a back entrance where post office trucks go back up to the loading dock and just give them all the fruit cakes, which was fantastic.
[SPEAKER_03]: yeah and then there are also there were times that we did two batches we could phone ahead and the people in Maryland were actually coming pick them up at the bakery so we got really good at mailing um but back to the leaseberg post office my home office uh that's for years we had a post office box for the micro marriage show with the leaseberg post office I just love it
[SPEAKER_03]: And I packed up all the items for the auction, the hoodie, the Elvis box set, all the things.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I was pleased that I had enough boxes and proper packaging for everything.
[SPEAKER_03]: And because we recorded three, and we recorded two yesterday.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we didn't finish the nearly six.
[SPEAKER_03]: So by the time I got everything together was seven.
[SPEAKER_03]: I called post offices closed.
[SPEAKER_03]: But because it's a great post office, the lobby never closes.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I can go and go into the big drop-off box that has a huge thing that you pull down.
[SPEAKER_03]: Put the box in, little bum, bum, bum, bum, and it goes in, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm good to go, and I've got them all marked up with poster.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be easy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Drive up there, get a perfect parking spot, even brought my own box.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I carry everything in.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's two of the big bins.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I pull the first one down and it's, if you haven't seen it, it's hard to explain.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I think if you would like a cylinder, a big cylinder that a quarter of it is cut out.
[SPEAKER_03]: So when you pull the handle, it reveals the part of the cylinder that you can put the package in.
[SPEAKER_03]: And when it goes back up, it falls in.
[SPEAKER_17]: And when it goes, that opens side points down so everything falls into the it's big box.
[SPEAKER_03]: In a perfect world, this is what happens.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the first one I go to and I pull it down and the cylinder doesn't spin It just comes off of its hinge This is being a broken.
[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't spin.
[SPEAKER_03]: It just pulls out.
[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't open out.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, it doesn't.
[SPEAKER_03]: I said, well, that sucks
[SPEAKER_03]: And some jerk, the last person who was there before me, who is gone, they put in a box that was just slightly too big and it's jammed.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I can only pull it.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I can only open it about three quarters of an inch before I hear the dead thought of cardboard against metal because the box is locked.
[SPEAKER_17]: That's not your box.
[SPEAKER_17]: Just start banging that thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you know, I started to think, what's the best way to handle this?
[SPEAKER_03]: I've got some that I could probably stuff, although it's not appropriate in the meter'd mail slot for mail bought for letters.
[SPEAKER_03]: Some of it would fit in it, like the the seat belt extender and the Michael Mary headshot.
[SPEAKER_03]: They would fit in there, but the big things won't.
[SPEAKER_17]: So I'm glad that you've used the cylinder of use that many times because there is a second post office.
[SPEAKER_17]: I'll go to that is next to the bin store right off.
[SPEAKER_17]: I'm going to the bin store.
[SPEAKER_17]: I go and I put them in that big drop box now when I flip the cylinder over I always open it back up to make sure my package is fell.
[SPEAKER_03]: This goes back to when I was a boy and you're using a blue metal mailbox, you always pull the flaps down, put it in and you always check.
[SPEAKER_17]: Otherwise, someone else can just take your packet to walk away with it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Even if it's something as simple as a letter, the last thing you want is for the system to be compromised, never wants to the letter not fall down.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because not only is it well designed, it's got gravity on its side.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to work, folks.
[SPEAKER_03]: But you always check, well, this jerk,
[SPEAKER_03]: My feeling right away, and I had a whole scenario in my head instantaneously.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's some pushy, leavesburg woman that had to get this package mailed.
[SPEAKER_03]: She knew she jammed the cylinder.
[SPEAKER_03]: She knew it and left.
[SPEAKER_17]: I would think like everyone else she checks to see did her package fall, and she's all that was jammed.
[SPEAKER_03]: And also, especially on the cylinder system, you hear it fall.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's not like you close it and it's not like a letter to the foop foop foop you hear it so it's too full so that package won't fall.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think that that entered my mind because the package was jamming I could see through the little the little crack that the package was what was jamming the cylinder yeah so I'm thinking a
[SPEAKER_03]: I made a, I don't want to make this a waste to trip.
[SPEAKER_03]: Grant, it's only two miles.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's nothing to it.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I had to go out to pick up dinner anyway.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm thinking, what's the best way to do it?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I start, of course, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
[SPEAKER_03]: Josh, did I use all of my strength to rock the machine?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I do.
[SPEAKER_03]: And when I say machine, I just mean big container.
[SPEAKER_03]: And when I heard that thing drop, there was a fist pump and a audibly loud, yes, because I got it default.
[SPEAKER_03]: But time for me to send in a request for the surveillance video.
[SPEAKER_17]: Okay, we all have information.
[SPEAKER_17]: Give me that.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think so, probably, but who is the jerk that leaves their package stuck there?
[SPEAKER_17]: That's self-hinged of others, or even doesn't even care about the person they are shipping the package to confirm that it went in.
[SPEAKER_03]: it's so it's I mean really it's just others others and they got the other problem I have with the post office experience now is you've used the machine where you can use your debit or credit card to print out your poster right and it looks like a kiosk right correct and it's it's actually a pretty well designed machine.
[SPEAKER_03]: They, and I have a scale on it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It actually measures the package for you by putting it in the corner and it gives you the exact number of Stamps the money you need to buy.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've sent many late fruit cakes using this.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've sent a personal fruit cakes using this But the problem with these machines is this
[SPEAKER_03]: When you use it, and it calls up for address and who it's coming from and everything, you have to type everything on the glass keyboard that's on the touchscreen, which is slow, slow, slow, slow.
[SPEAKER_03]: But then I got to thinking, when this label comes out, what's the post to join it?
[SPEAKER_03]: it has the return address, it has the where it's headed to address, and I've been at home typing a label to put on it already.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's useless because I'm just repeating all the information.
[SPEAKER_03]: So why would I, and this is, I guess, on me, I just need to learn to not address my postage when I take it to the kiosk because they do it for me.
[SPEAKER_17]: There is no point to put a label on your
[SPEAKER_17]: Right, my labels look so nice.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've you see here's trivia that you don't know Josh because you came after the we like to call the fruit cake era of the Michael Merch Show a fruit cake box is exactly four inches by four inches by seven inches okay this is the perfect size box for a fruit cake you can go to uline and say I want a four by four by seven we even had a custom line of boxes run once cut for us that literally said fruit cake on the box I like very cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: But let us take a waste of money, but I, well, well, it was shiny and new if you can.
[SPEAKER_17]: I would have just bought a stamp.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's a fruit cake and just stamp it like fragile.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but that's not shiny, and that's not new.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's not exciting.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we had all of those.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I have designed within my printer a perfect four by seven inch label that fits the fruitcake box.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so when I use it, it looks great.
[SPEAKER_03]: But then it's just always the difference.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that's technology I dislike.
[SPEAKER_17]: Because I ship so much stuff.
[SPEAKER_17]: Now I have a four by six label printer.
[SPEAKER_17]: It just has a, oh, labels behind it.
[SPEAKER_17]: So I just print straight to that.
[SPEAKER_17]: Are they adhesive?
[SPEAKER_17]: They're here?
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, they're stickers.
[SPEAKER_17]: They're just, uh-huh.
[SPEAKER_17]: They're just, what's that black ink that's, that he, like a receipt?
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh yeah, or like an almost like an old fax machine.
[SPEAKER_17]: Right, exactly.
[SPEAKER_17]: So it's a separate temper paper to something.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: Well, that was the old fax machines.
[SPEAKER_17]: I think this is high quality.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I was going to say if you wait more than two days to mail it, the whole thing turns gray.
[SPEAKER_17]: Right.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, it's improved.
[SPEAKER_03]: Did you ever have a fax machine?
[SPEAKER_17]: I did, because my dad always had a home office.
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, so you didn't have your own.
[SPEAKER_17]: No, I did not have my own.
[SPEAKER_17]: I had access to a fax machine.
[SPEAKER_17]: I never needed to go buy my own fax machine.
[SPEAKER_03]: back in the days of, as you know, I was producer of the Don and Mike show, Heritage Radiation.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was producer of them, I mean, three times, because I kept being name producer and then found inadequate and removed from the data.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, it's nice because they give you something and then it gives something that they can take away from you.
[SPEAKER_03]: But apparently, I wasn't so bad because I ended up getting the job again and again, but every morning I would have to wait to get a fax from Don that was today's show prep.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so I did have a fax, but it was a shitty fax machine paper very curly, especially towards the end of the roll, and it would turn gray.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I did figure something out after drinking with my friend Brad one night, a great prank for someone who had a fax machine.
[SPEAKER_03]: was to take a long piece of fax paper, probably like three feet and write a hateful message on it, something like use suck or worse.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then tape it into a loop around the fax machine's send and hit send because it's always going to stop.
[SPEAKER_03]: It would never stop.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so the person would wake up in the morning and just get thousands and thousands of people on the paper that said use suck.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's all right.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, of course, because you want credit for the gig, but before the gig became feasible to implement, fax machines became a non-issue.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that's why I didn't make a millionaire.
[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't become a millionaire.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was faxed last night.
[SPEAKER_17]: I'm glad fax machines won away.
[SPEAKER_17]: They were noisy.
[SPEAKER_17]: They never knew if it truly sent.
[SPEAKER_17]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_17]: And then you'd have to call the person, did you receive it?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and then you'd also forget to check your fax machine.
[SPEAKER_17]: Right, so people would not check it.
[SPEAKER_17]: If you had it in the office, co-workers would just throw out your old faxes.
[SPEAKER_17]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_17]: It must be extra copies.
[SPEAKER_03]: When they stopped making them, they always probably a tremendous hit to the brother corporation.
[SPEAKER_03]: They had to focus on printers.
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, yeah, brother in Epson both had a fax machines back then.
[SPEAKER_03]: vaccine division.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, with my luck, that's where I would have ended up.
[SPEAKER_03]: I could have gotten a good job at brother, but I've worked in the fax machine division.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, long story short, too late, all of the auction items have been dispersed with the exception of dinners on the cruise and the, oh, and for those who have reached out about the King's Dominion Trip,
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to wait, we're going to do it in September, when it's a little cooler, and when Halloween Haunt is going on, because they change the look of the park and it's fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll figure out when we're going to do that then.
[SPEAKER_03]: As far as the dinners on the cruise, do you know who your opponent is?
[SPEAKER_03]: Did you recognize the name?
[SPEAKER_03]: I know Mike's name, yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yes, I am.
[SPEAKER_17]: I have Tina Noble, who has her question.
[SPEAKER_17]: She's great.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, Sarah has been, of course, as James Noble, who played Governor Gattling on the show Benson.
[SPEAKER_17]: I, I would believe that guy would be dead by now.
[SPEAKER_17]: That sounds like an old show.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was an old show.
[SPEAKER_03]: And if you really want to go to all of these played, I believe a senator in, uh, or a representative in the movie 1776, but that's ancient, Reverend Widdler's been played.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're going to have that, uh, you should, you know what,
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a musical to deal with American history.
[SPEAKER_03]: 1776 is a musical.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a musical about the Declaration of Independence.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_03]: One of my dream roles on stage would be to play Ben Franklin.
[SPEAKER_17]: All right, maybe independence day.
[SPEAKER_17]: Hicks next next year.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it would be Hicks, Nicks, Picks, Firewicks or Hicks Dependence Day for all the Hicks, Nicks, Sticks, Picksies.
[SPEAKER_03]: But as far as Tina Noble, that's great.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think Mike's dinner guest is Terry Lettich, who is lovely and wonderful.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you are Brian's, uh, Snire?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but here's what throws me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Someone who is a big enough fan to come on the cruise.
[SPEAKER_03]: God bless you.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's fantastic.
[SPEAKER_03]: Someone who is beyond that, a big enough fan to bid on a meal.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know, with me.
[SPEAKER_17]: I know your issue.
[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know the sky.
[SPEAKER_17]: And he's your issue is that he is not Facebook friends with you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, because he probably looked up to see who am I having dinner with.
[SPEAKER_03]: I would be certain I would at least know the name and so I don't and because of this, it has an air of mystery, but also should I be frightened?
[SPEAKER_03]: because someone who's that big of a fan don't you think would make themselves known somehow before the bid was done.
[SPEAKER_03]: How are you Googling him now?
[SPEAKER_17]: I think yes, I was.
[SPEAKER_17]: I does not look on your friends either.
[SPEAKER_17]: I don't see anything on Facebook.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, you see, so this guy Brian, Brian, reach out to me.
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel that I should at least exchange a brief text with you or maybe
[SPEAKER_03]: What your deal is because I want to, you know, be ready.
[SPEAKER_03]: I want to I want to be a charming dinner companion.
[SPEAKER_17]: So I'm sure it'll be fine.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: We fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: Have you ever seen a burial?
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see.
[SPEAKER_03]: You may get one because he might kill me between the advertiser and of course.
[SPEAKER_17]: Now it doesn't matter, the cruise will be fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the cruise will be fun.
[SPEAKER_17]: And you can be worried about your dinner.
[SPEAKER_17]: I'm sure it'll be fun.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's not like it's a private dinner in like some alley somewhere.
[SPEAKER_17]: You're gonna be on a big ballroom with other people.
[SPEAKER_03]: Unless he arranges for that.
[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be like, it'll be like in a recent movie we both watched, strangers on a train.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just take dinner in my cabin.
[SPEAKER_03]: That would be a warning sign.
[SPEAKER_03]: I would stay away that option.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what Brian's got on his mind.
[SPEAKER_03]: Adam M. Joy.
[SPEAKER_03]: We always enjoy your comments and thank you for the ten jewel donation and the comment happy poop and who doesn't want that.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the auction stuff is out there and if you missed out, I do believe rumor has it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've heard it around the old water cooler that there may be another auction.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Christmas time.
[SPEAKER_17]: I don't think so.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just teasing.
[SPEAKER_17]: I don't think so.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've got another
[SPEAKER_03]: So I got to get rid of it, got to get rid of it, so keep in mind that it could happen and you know, requests could be made.
[SPEAKER_03]: A movie that you and I have been talking about behind the scenes.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm more excited about it than I probably ought to be because as Kerry has told me, she says, you know what the problem with you is?
[SPEAKER_03]: And I said, I don't have much time, but what?
[SPEAKER_03]: She says,
[SPEAKER_03]: She said you really haven't progressed since you were 12 years old.
[SPEAKER_17]: I thought process about, um, yes, I don't think 12 for me, but what will be your age?
[SPEAKER_17]: Probably 20, 22.
[SPEAKER_03]: What do you do that is a 22 year old that a 12 year old would, and I have to take drinking out of it because I don't do that anymore.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, and I don't, um, I think the fact that I am so passionate about
[SPEAKER_17]: I think you love baseball when you were 12.
[SPEAKER_17]: I did when I was 12 also.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, I think my music styles is all stuck to where I was 20.
[SPEAKER_17]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because that's when you were doing punk rock.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm all in that.
[SPEAKER_03]: What music did you listen to when you were 12?
[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't listen to music when I was a teen in the 80s, I had a great era of music to listen to.
[SPEAKER_17]: No, I drove with my parents, so in the radio it was like Rush Limbaugh or um...
[SPEAKER_17]: I think I think on WBL was Ron Smith in the afternoon, so you're dead with us in the wrong room in you.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yes, yes, Republican radio Republican grooming by then if I wrote it with my mom, it was like The K-Love equivalent of today.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's K-Love everywhere, but they had independent.
[SPEAKER_17]: Like, oh, you know what WAA before it flipped stations was one that was in our car radio when it was in music.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, it was, well, I was thinking of WBA when it was a top four.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm talking about.
[SPEAKER_03]: Great.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're in the middle of that.
[SPEAKER_03]: What sounds like what you were listening to, or what we're called, full service radio stations.
[SPEAKER_03]: And by the time you were around there, it all been relegated to AM.
[SPEAKER_03]: Even when I was a kid, they were AM.
[SPEAKER_03]: But they would do the time, the weather, the traffic, talk.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they might have came on the point.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: And, but I would love to have a WBL because they would do the school closings in the morning.
[SPEAKER_17]: They would play the Orioles in the evenings, so that you'd have the occasional sports talk in there as well.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And a and a heritage session, which probably didn't, well, especially at night, I mean WBL, you could probably pick up in the Midwest.
[SPEAKER_03]: But WBL, you're often.
[SPEAKER_03]: Why would anyone in New York be listening to Baltimore?
[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know, but I'd be on their own on that.
[SPEAKER_03]: The greatest part in the world.
[SPEAKER_03]: You could be listening to the greatest stations in the world.
[SPEAKER_17]: Because it's nighttime and I want to hear my Orioles break my heart again.
[SPEAKER_03]: What you should have done is stayed in Baltimore and listened to WABC.
[SPEAKER_03]: What you could have again because of the atmosphere bounce.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it probably didn't matter to you that WNEL was a heritage station.
[SPEAKER_03]: mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_17]: What we want to talk about coyote versus acne.
[SPEAKER_17]: That's what we're getting now, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: We're getting there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because 12 you loved Looney Tunes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Still do to this day.
[SPEAKER_03]: They put out five additions of original Looney Tunes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Each addition has four DVDs.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think each DVD has like 20 cartoons on it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we're looking at 80 times like 400 LooneyTunes slash Mary Melody cartoons that I have on DVD in my home at any time.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I've watched them my entire life channel 20 used to run them and they were a big thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Adam was 10 more jewels and happy poop again.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_03]: It again, that is something that I would have watched when I was 12.
[SPEAKER_03]: This very week, I got out in my DVDs of the dukes of hazard, because, you know, Cudder guy, then just watched it when you were 12.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I watched it when I was 12.
[SPEAKER_03]: That might have been what brought up the conversation, yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: I love Looney Tunes as well.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, because they do transcend time.
[SPEAKER_03]: They really do.
[SPEAKER_17]: They do and I wish my kids could get into them because I want my kids To go to want to I want to go as a family and see coyote versus Acme because I've seen the trailer and as a guy who Loves Looney Tunes loves every variation of Looney Tunes with real people
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: Space Jam, you were a fan.
[SPEAKER_17]: Space Jam, a fan, the Brendan Fraser.
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, I like the Brendan Fraser.
[SPEAKER_17]: What was there in one?
[SPEAKER_03]: Was there a second space jam?
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, that space Jam, too, with LeBron.
[SPEAKER_17]: That was fine.
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I probably could have guessed that it would have been called Space Jam 2 that would be the second one Yeah, that makes sense, but just so before we we have the trailer, we're gonna look at it Just so you know that Looney tunes when you talk about transcending time when my grandparents dated before World War II
[SPEAKER_03]: My grandfather, Big Daddy, would call the movie theater before they would go see a movie.
[SPEAKER_03]: They were dating and he wanted to make sure that there was a loony tunes or Mary Malady Cartoon up front before the feature so that he got to see a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I mean, it was important enough for who is relatively considered a serious guy that so I mean, it's a natural thing and it's been in my family for almost 100 years now.
[SPEAKER_17]: And that was a feature shown off in who framed Roger Rabbit as they showcased how they would show them cartoons before real movies.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and it's like we explained to you before short subjects and news real in a cartoon.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, did you like Roger Rabbit?
[SPEAKER_03]: I love Roger Rabbit.
[SPEAKER_03]: I did too.
[SPEAKER_17]: I believe it was too Halloween.
[SPEAKER_17]: So I went as Roger Rabbit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because you still have the costume.
[SPEAKER_17]: maybe, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: You should have called me, you know what?
[SPEAKER_03]: I would have been a great Eddie valiant.
[SPEAKER_03]: To your right, you would have been.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I wouldn't want to be Jessica Rabbit, but yeah, could do.
[SPEAKER_03]: Or baby, what's his name?
[SPEAKER_03]: Not baby.
[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know the baby's name.
[SPEAKER_03]: It'll come.
[SPEAKER_17]: But have you seen this trailer yet?
[SPEAKER_03]: I have watched it but I want to see it again so folks pop your popcorn and get your acne brand-anvel and let's take a look at this trailer.
[SPEAKER_03]: Actory Brand Roller is tasty.
[SPEAKER_08]: I've been horribly injured by a product made by the Actory Corporation.
[SPEAKER_08]: It's not your fault.
[SPEAKER_08]: There's probably someone to blame.
[SPEAKER_16]: Name of the case is Coyote versus the Actory.
[SPEAKER_16]: Why the Coyote?
[SPEAKER_16]: He is Rex.
[SPEAKER_16]: We all know who's responsible.
[SPEAKER_16]: And all of his injuries are self-inflicted.
[SPEAKER_08]: You've been settling at me cases for years.
[SPEAKER_08]: You can probably get you 250 bucks to death.
[SPEAKER_08]: This is your opportunity to really show people what your capable of.
[SPEAKER_08]: These companies think they can do whatever they want.
[SPEAKER_08]: We're a stick of it.
[SPEAKER_08]: At me, at you!
[SPEAKER_08]: Nothing is here.
[SPEAKER_15]: We really have nothing.
[SPEAKER_06]: We both know it would be very unpleasant if anything bigger.
[SPEAKER_06]: We'll to become public.
[SPEAKER_06]: somewhere, what is up, dark?
[SPEAKER_06]: The acting corporation is released in this film, where account of this is only.
[SPEAKER_06]: We do not condone any of the storyline's depicted.
[SPEAKER_03]: I will go see that on the day it opens.
[SPEAKER_17]: So, you know, I never leave the home.
[SPEAKER_17]: This movie got shelved a few years ago.
[SPEAKER_17]: Because they're going to take it as a write-off, right?
[SPEAKER_17]: They said it was a $30 million tax write-off.
[SPEAKER_17]: So they were going to shelve this movie and that put it out to save $30 million.
[SPEAKER_17]: The reason it's coming out now is because another company we saw it on the sign, like catch up something.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, catch up product.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, they bought it for $50 million.
[SPEAKER_17]: They bought the rights to it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I think they're going to make more than 50 million and the first weekend it will and then you're not even and then you're not even talking about This is a brilliant Vehicle for merchandising everything for all people true because because for a hundred years There's been people watching these cartoons.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to peel to every age level plus you've got John Cena who is literally money in the banks in this
[SPEAKER_03]: will forte and uh... you know i actually have in my office you don't see it because it's to my right a framed picture uh... will for that is a memorial no to melt blank the guy who all the voices originally that the reason i think this is going to work and it's got an edge over rager rabbit is that when rager rabbit came out nineteen eighty seven i think right about there
[SPEAKER_03]: is that the mixture of animation and live action and the backgrounds and everything, it was still sort of gimmick.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I know it goes back to like Mary Poppins and all that stuff, but this, it looks so natural.
[SPEAKER_03]: It looks like a real movie.
[SPEAKER_03]: When they did that opening sequence with the Acme roller skates and they set it in a real desert, it's beautiful.
[SPEAKER_03]: It looks fantastic.
[SPEAKER_17]: What I, and that's why I don't understand like this was shelved at the same time that they shelved that back girl movie and everyone was very clear on trash and old back girl didn't work because they were going to lose money anyway.
[SPEAKER_17]: No one has said anything bad about this movie.
[SPEAKER_17]: Have you shelved?
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: The first reviews came out.
[SPEAKER_17]: I think it comes out.
[SPEAKER_17]: Does it come out this weekend or next weekend?
[SPEAKER_03]: It's at the 28th.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's so real weak from you.
[SPEAKER_17]: I saw that I was reading this morning the first like predict reviews are coming out.
[SPEAKER_17]: And right now it's got like 25 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and it's not a 100% score.
[SPEAKER_03]: You see that's great.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now the skeptic in me would almost say this whole shelving and bringing it back was a marketing play.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I don't think it will.
[SPEAKER_17]: There's isn't making the money.
[SPEAKER_17]: This company's now making the money.
[SPEAKER_03]: Who owns catch up though?
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Don't say something.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm considering of how you know what?
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm too old and tired to do the detective work, but it does sound awfully suspicious.
[SPEAKER_03]: I do hope it's a success because I think it's a great property and I'm happy to see it as stay alive like that.
[SPEAKER_03]: By the way, you mentioned Batgirl.
[SPEAKER_03]: Have you seen any, it's all over when I turn on the streaming apps on my TV.
[SPEAKER_03]: Supergirl, have you seen the Supergirl movie?
[SPEAKER_03]: I have seen the Supergirl movie, and not for me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I got a problem, there's a, there's a thing now with, with some female actresses, they've got like a particularly strong jaw and this super girl has it, where it looks like that if they were to smile, they're wearing braces, but they're not wearing braces.
[SPEAKER_03]: Does that make sense?
[SPEAKER_03]: Like they've got like their lips that stick out a little bit?
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if it's a trend in beauty or whatever, but it's, it's probably to make beauty
[SPEAKER_17]: Did I?
[SPEAKER_17]: I think I took my daughter to see Supergirl.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: Because we go, I take her to see all the Supergirl movies, and she is twenty-one.
[SPEAKER_17]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: I thought there was strictly a Marvel thing for you, but that was a DC property.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's mostly Marvel, but she wanted to see it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's, I guess, because that's mostly what the movies are.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, so she wanted to see super girls high-toker and it's just it wasn't for me It didn't entertain me.
[SPEAKER_17]: I found lots of issues with the movie, but but she loved it.
[SPEAKER_03]: She liked it So you know what they're not they're not catering does anymore Josh.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're certainly not catering to me That's why I act me is gonna be it's gonna be fun that it's something that applies to us Do you have and we're a bit we need to take a break here, but before we close the topic here Do you have a favorite superhero movie
[SPEAKER_03]: going back for your entire life.
[SPEAKER_03]: I actually saw some of the early Marvel films, like I liked Iron Man.
[SPEAKER_03]: I thought Iron Man.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think great.
[SPEAKER_17]: I think the first Captain America is probably my favorite.
[SPEAKER_17]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_17]: And then I liked Civil War.
[SPEAKER_17]: I thought it was very good as well.
[SPEAKER_17]: So I like the first generation of the Avengers.
[SPEAKER_17]: I liked a lot of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: to emphasize my age, my favorite is for years it was the first and second Superman with Christopher Reeve, but when it goes to the movie that I've seen in the theater more times than any other movie is the original Michael Keaton Batman.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think I saw it in the theater 12 times.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, I can't complain about that one.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it is almost perfect and and even drove me to go see the flash when the flash came out.
[SPEAKER_17]: Which was a thing to see the five minutes of Michael Keaton.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it wasn't a good movie.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it troubled me because the flash himself reminded me of Jimmy Fallon, which ruined the movie for me.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the Michael Keaton stuff was great.
[SPEAKER_03]: We don't have a lot of stars anymore.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think Michael Keaton is still a movie star.
[SPEAKER_17]: I will share with you back to Looney Tunes before we go before we take a break for keeping me linear.
[SPEAKER_17]: Appreciate it.
[SPEAKER_17]: Well, I'm trying to I want to as we were talking to Looney Tunes.
[SPEAKER_17]: I thought about this.
[SPEAKER_17]: I used to own a six foot bugs bunny like stuffed animal and I don't know where it came from.
[SPEAKER_17]: It was just always there in my entire life.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_17]: And at some point, there was a time where again, 18, 19, 20, I'm home alone, parents are away or everyone's out of town or something.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're not going to creep me out with this story, are you?
[SPEAKER_03]: I get home from work.
[SPEAKER_17]: I can tell you, it was probably like one, two in the morning because it was coming home from working at Blockbuster.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_17]: I come in the house and I turn into my bedroom and in the doorway is a person standing there in the doorway.
[SPEAKER_17]: And I freak out because I walk in, you're going straight to your bedroom, you don't turn on any lights in the house.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, and you know, you know the route.
[SPEAKER_17]: I fall backwards over like a pile of laundry that was behind me and then that's when I realized because I kicked the man and it falls on top of me and realized that my friends have came in while I'm at work.
[SPEAKER_17]: and tied up Bugs Bunny right in my doorway.
[SPEAKER_17]: One, two, then completely freaking me out at two in the morning.
[SPEAKER_03]: Those were not your friends.
[SPEAKER_03]: Those were not friends.
[SPEAKER_03]: A friend wouldn't do that.
[SPEAKER_03]: A friend wouldn't do that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Perhaps.
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I used to have a cardboard cut out of, of, of Willard Scott that you could know.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure you'd be the same thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: You could, but it wasn't his charming and it wasn't stuffed, which is nice.
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I've got some stuff to talk about that's actually current events that leads into this program.
[SPEAKER_03]: And Josh, I hope you pretend to be interested because it's coming up after this.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll take a break.
[SPEAKER_03]: What's that?
[SPEAKER_03]: Tidbits.
[SPEAKER_03]: Tidbits.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not Tidbits.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're not doing.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is what this is.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a Tidbit.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is one thing and we'll be back after this on the micro-marish show.
[SPEAKER_05]: There are a lot of great things to do in the ocean, surfing, swimming, crab and skin diving.
[SPEAKER_05]: But no one can hold a candle to the TMOs 2027 cruise.

[SPEAKER_03]: We are live today.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you want, I can hold up an issue of today's paper.
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, I can sign where not live.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, well, they think that this is some sort of scam.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're not scamming you.
[SPEAKER_03]: We talked yesterday on the show that this was going to be a jar show today.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Not a producer's club.
[SPEAKER_03]: That is so Friday.
[SPEAKER_03]: And this is going to be a Thursday thing moving forward for the time being.
[SPEAKER_03]: So enjoy our time together.
[SPEAKER_03]: As Carol Burnett would say, we're so glad we had this time together.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the essentially third week in August, Josh is the third week in August.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mean anything to you, especially if I were to say the third week in August 1977.
[SPEAKER_17]: Well, that's 49 years ago.
[SPEAKER_03]: Before you were born before, it was born.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know you love saying so.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I don't know anything about August we have very different algorithms on our socials.
[SPEAKER_03]: This I can't escape it is the 49th anniversary of the passing.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is Elvis Death Week and there's lots of Elvis Presley.
[SPEAKER_03]: He was the King of Rock and Roll, notable singer had quite a few hit records.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, almost their backs still with us, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and Elvis Durran and Elvis Costello.
[SPEAKER_03]: And of course, Mexican Elvis impersonator, Elvis, who I have seen in concert, but that's for another time.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is Elvis's death week.
[SPEAKER_03]: This was a big deal on the old show that we were doing all Elvis show, talking about what a disaster Elvis is.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I enjoyed that, but I always was a true, Elvis, I love his music.
[SPEAKER_17]: Well, that's my question for you.
[SPEAKER_17]: You love Elvis.
[SPEAKER_17]: I do.
[SPEAKER_17]: But you also make jokes about him being a mess at the end.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's hard not to is because he was, but does that take away from any of your love of Elvis?
[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't because
[SPEAKER_03]: The body of work he left behind is so extraordinary that I think it can take the occasional dart.
[SPEAKER_03]: His life really does play out sadly without getting too deep like a Greek tragedy.
[SPEAKER_03]: He was a flawed hero.
[SPEAKER_03]: And he did, you know, you can say and make accusations about the racial climate in America in the mid-50s.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that he might have stolen his music from other cultures, but the fact is before Elvis, before Ed Sullivan put him on television, it was unacceptable to have rock and roll music at a white household.
[SPEAKER_03]: It paved the way for other black artists to be acceptable and to be mainstream.
[SPEAKER_03]: He was key believer or not in getting America to get vaccinated.
[SPEAKER_03]: He did his act, I think it was the flu vaccine or polio, I guess.
[SPEAKER_03]: The polio vaccine, he was vaccinated live on television to prove that it was the vaccine people do that before.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a little different, a little different than that.
[SPEAKER_03]: He went into the army to prove he was a true patriot and you know that cost America millions and millions of dollars in tax money because of the pay cut he took.
[SPEAKER_03]: because he went from paying taxes on millions of millions of dollars of income for two years to being taxed on like $42 a week.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they're end the music it speaks for itself and also for a long time it worried me as an Elvis fan because his fan base was literally dying, you know they're aging out and they're dying.
[SPEAKER_03]: But a couple of events have happened recently.
[SPEAKER_03]: The release four or three or four years ago of the Austin Butler Elvis movie.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think kind of explained a lot about what Elvis was, but more so for the Elvis fan of today that movie epic, that Baz Lorman released and said do it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now I thought that was just a concert.
[SPEAKER_17]: video.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is, but he made it tell a story.
[SPEAKER_03]: He interspersed it with Elvis interviews.
[SPEAKER_03]: He put it in order and it told the story of Elvis.
[SPEAKER_03]: And also the way they were able to use modern technology to re-engineer Elvis's live recordings, which as a rule, or pretty sloppy, great music, but sloppy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I was sitting in a theater and I had
[SPEAKER_03]: in an Elvis concert before never heard it because it was lost behind the horns and Elvis screaming in the back of singers at best lorman re engineered the music so the soundtrack to epic is probably the best Elvis live album of a concert that never happened it's just amazing what they did
[SPEAKER_17]: are you seeing are these movies helping younger people appreciate Elvis or find Elvis?
[SPEAKER_17]: I think so.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think so.
[SPEAKER_03]: Robert saw the best Lerman movie with me once, but he watched the the Austin Butler movie three times because it's good storytelling and the music is good and it's fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: And again, when all is said and done, I think that
[SPEAKER_03]: History will reflect a guy that was an amazing singer, good looking guy, and I think you're going to start to forget the peanut butter banana sandwich per cassette era of Elvis at the very end.
[SPEAKER_03]: And Graceland is always sort of buried that part of it anyway, and I'm sorry that he got to be old and fat and purple.
[SPEAKER_03]: that's really disappointing.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'd love to know where he would have gone.
[SPEAKER_03]: I always felt that Elvis would have become an older country singer like Johnny Cash sort of had a resurgence at the end of his life.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's where I think Elvis would have landed.
[SPEAKER_03]: But all that to say this, it is Elvis death week and they named the ultimate Elvis tribute artist this week at Grace Lundwich.
[SPEAKER_03]: They do every year.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's nice for whoever wins it because this is an Elvison personator as they say in ETA.
[SPEAKER_03]: Elvison tribute artist, God knows I've seen a lot of them, worked with one that was great, Michael Hoover.
[SPEAKER_03]: But this allows them to actually mention Graceland and when they're promoting themselves, they're like endorsed.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it went to a guy named Finley Watkins, and this is him.
[SPEAKER_03]: He kind of looks like him at a distance.
[SPEAKER_03]: He won $20,000 and the title.
[SPEAKER_03]: But here's the thing about Finley.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's 18 years old.
[SPEAKER_03]: He looks so very young.
[SPEAKER_03]: He is very young.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is to me, this is funny and a little surreal when they're announcing the winner.
[SPEAKER_03]: of the Alistair beauty artist because you know like at the end of Miss America when you have ten of the most beautiful women in America standing on stage waiting to see it on Elvis it's ten jumpsuits in a row and the winner of the twenty twenty sources for time ultimate Elvis tribute artist contest judges
[SPEAKER_17]: because he is the youngest and best rocker in all of us as one stage.
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh yeah, yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: So if there's a fan vote, he's getting the fan vote.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's a panel assembled by Graceland because also it benefits Graceland to have a young guy be the winner.
[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't just do jumpsuit Elvis.
[SPEAKER_03]: He was beautiful.
[SPEAKER_03]: He was in the Aztec jumpsuit, but he also does young Elvis.
[SPEAKER_03]: Here's a little clip from Wisconsin, maybe Missouri.
[SPEAKER_03]: And here's a clip from his local TV station.
[SPEAKER_14]: New this morning, the 2026 ultimate Elvis tribute artist was named last night and the winner is from the heartland, talking about 18 year old Finley Watkins is an award winning Elvis tribute artist and he's from Bernie Missouri and he faced fierce competition to secure that title at the iconic singer's home last night in Graceland.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we can see that he has the moves and the looks of the young Elvis, but what troubled me is can he sing like Elvis?
[SPEAKER_03]: And this is the clip they put out.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think this is pretty remarkable.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's not as accurate as some, but for an 18 year old, this is pretty good.
[SPEAKER_03]: I chose the song I thought you'd know, Josh.
[SPEAKER_07]: How great though, aren't you?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I got it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a him.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_08]: Elvis loved it.
[SPEAKER_03]: He said he does sound great.
[SPEAKER_03]: For 18, I give it a 10.
[SPEAKER_17]: I think he's sensational.
[SPEAKER_17]: How much have you looked into this kid?
[SPEAKER_17]: quite a bit.
[SPEAKER_03]: He also does like movie error at Elvis.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you go ahead, I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_17]: Did you know he was on television before?
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, he's been impersonation.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's been doing it since he was a kid.
[SPEAKER_17]: I was like this.
[SPEAKER_17]: I have a clip here of him on the Ellen show.
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, I didn't know it goes that far back.
[SPEAKER_17]: That the age of 12, I believe.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, let's take a look.
[SPEAKER_03]: Eight.
[SPEAKER_03]: Eight?
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Take a peek.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm.
[SPEAKER_03]: I hear the audio.
[SPEAKER_15]: That doesn't work like Elvis.
[SPEAKER_15]: Oh, that sounds like it.
[SPEAKER_15]: Oh, that sounds like it.
[SPEAKER_15]: We want the difference and tell me the difference.
[SPEAKER_15]: Hough.
[SPEAKER_17]: A tribute artist and an impersonation.
[SPEAKER_17]: So he's been doing this for over 10 years.
[SPEAKER_11]: Well, you pay his tribute to the Elvis.
[SPEAKER_11]: But it's only one else.
[SPEAKER_11]: And it's only one true king.
[SPEAKER_11]: So we just try to honor Elvis.
[SPEAKER_15]: Yes, you are right.
[SPEAKER_15]: He was a...
[SPEAKER_15]: It was the king.
[SPEAKER_15]: So you're eight years old.
[SPEAKER_15]: So how old were you when you got interested in this?
[SPEAKER_11]: I was four years old.
[SPEAKER_11]: I was four years old.
[SPEAKER_15]: And how did that happen?
[SPEAKER_11]: Well, I've been playing guitar since that's four, but we were going on a family vacation and I saw a billboard of Elvis and then I went home and I looked him up, but whenever I was looking up, I just felt Elvis in my soul.
[SPEAKER_11]: I just felt like I should do him.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's better than Alex Miller.
[SPEAKER_17]: He's great.
[SPEAKER_17]: Let me see it.
[SPEAKER_17]: Do they have a clip of him?
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, here we go.
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: Jordan a little bit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like what he said before.
[SPEAKER_17]: Here he is, perform in on the Ellen show at the age.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh.
[SPEAKER_17]: It makes me excited that this kid won, like the Ultimate Championship.
[SPEAKER_03]: To have that kind of path, absolutely.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's so, so cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, here he is doing like, this is movie era Elvis, 1960 to three.
[SPEAKER_03]: And this is from a movie from girl.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is from, as long as he's a girl after me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Michigan State MIT.
[SPEAKER_03]: He really does sound like him.
[SPEAKER_07]: Harvard University.
[SPEAKER_07]: Basket well, spit them brown.
[SPEAKER_07]: Singin' on the sand town tonight.
[SPEAKER_08]: It's fun to hide.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's got the move.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's like a kid that finds baseball and is obsessed with it for his entire life to this point.
[SPEAKER_03]: So congratulations to Finley Watkins.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's really cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: The death day is actually going to fall on Saturday this year, the 16th.
[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be 49 years since Elvis passed.
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess you probably don't remember where you were because you weren't born.
[SPEAKER_03]: In non-existent, not a thought.
[SPEAKER_03]: But true story.
[SPEAKER_03]: My parents had tickets to see Elvis, but he died.
[SPEAKER_03]: He was going to play a gig in New Jersey, and he never made it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that's sad, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: So as a tribute, you know, we had a week on.
[SPEAKER_03]: judging for knowing Colonel Tom Parker, probably not, but because we haven't done anything for Elvis's death day in at least a year, I know we didn't do anything last year.
[SPEAKER_03]: We do the TMO's classic every Friday.
[SPEAKER_03]: This Friday, we're going to bring back one time, one off, a raw radio, and I'm going to do a couple hours of Elvis music.
[SPEAKER_03]: because some new Elvis music has broken this way this year with the release of the movie and if you've never listened to Elvis's finest recordings and there's a real reason you probably haven't because you know what it just people don't anymore and bring you some of those best stuff and I hope you check it out because it should be a lot of fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know there's been a
[SPEAKER_17]: And we'll have to see how Rob Radio goes because I've noticed this three downloads is how no, no, no, but here's the issue music copy protection.
[SPEAKER_17]: We've have the issue on YouTube now Spotify is also starting to clamp down on podcasts that play music.
[SPEAKER_17]: So I've seen episodes get pulled of.
[SPEAKER_17]: uh... not of them like a marriage or yet but of other podcasts because play music or whatever so we have to be careful that rob radio might end up a future on to tiktok i've been thinking okay because tiktok you can play music around people to play music and you and i've had a great idea for tiktok
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, but are we going to share it yet or I thought we could share the two boxes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: This kind of this is fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is more music related and I mean we've been talking and talking and we've done thousands and thousands of hours.
[SPEAKER_03]: Literally of talking on this show.
[SPEAKER_03]: But Mike got his start and I got inspired originally by music radio.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love music radio.
[SPEAKER_03]: Love hearing music on the radio.
[SPEAKER_03]: You don't hear it good anymore.
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess XM has some, but not really.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I forget where we were going with it, how we got there, but it's talking about the fact that I do own a jukebox, a classic 1962 jukebox.
[SPEAKER_03]: Her name is Darlene.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's fun, because not only is it a great way to listen to 45 RPM records, it is a world letser, and you can actually see the action of the records changing, which to me is hypnotic.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's robot music machine, as what it is.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we wanted to do a TikTok, a live TikTok.
[SPEAKER_03]: where people watch and we will have a camera so you can see the selections and you can choose the songs replay and I can comment or talk up the records or even talk about them as they do it and it'll be the debut of Rob Radeo jukebox Rock.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, more importantly we get to watch the glow of the jukebox and the mechanics as it picks up the album and moves it and loads it.
[SPEAKER_03]: That was not a foul but it is a record yeah record sorry I mean one album because like a photo Because you know what I don't even want to give you that they're not 12 inch LPs There's seven and a half inch 45 RPM records.
[SPEAKER_17]: So I have one here hold on Well, we can watch it pick up the piece of plastic
[SPEAKER_17]: and move it over and put the needle on and play it.
[SPEAKER_17]: I think it'd be a lot of fun.
[SPEAKER_17]: Maybe it would translate to something we could do on like a bonus show type, private members feed, where we don't need to worry about copy protection, but I think TikTok is the perfect home for this in interaction.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we have, I have between 15 and 20,000, 45s.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there's not that many in that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I mean, well, there's 50.
[SPEAKER_03]: So per show I could reload it, is what I'm saying, if we did more than one.
[SPEAKER_03]: But this is rather historic.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is on the Robert Stigwood organization label.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is Rick D's famous disjockey, his novelty record, disco duck, but which, by the way, features an Elvis impression.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the first 45 I ever bought.
[SPEAKER_03]: right here and I still on it you want to talk about being a hoarder that's it right there I bought it a giant music on broad street and false church, but I think of hoarders as people who don't appreciate what they have and just hold on to everything.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no, I love everything I have.
[SPEAKER_17]: And I know you value everything.
[SPEAKER_17]: I'm thinking about your jute box show.
[SPEAKER_17]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_17]: This is so good for TikTok.
[SPEAKER_17]: You could load that thing up with Halloween music.
[SPEAKER_17]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_17]: And you could do it three nights in a row.
[SPEAKER_17]: You could do Halloween weekend.
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, I would do that.
[SPEAKER_17]: I'm 50 songs, but in whatever order the commenter's want.
[SPEAKER_03]: Finally, you found an angle, I just randomly last night, I said to Carrie, said, I hate Halloween, but that would make something out of the way.
[SPEAKER_03]: That would make it fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: That would make it fun, but I'm still not handing out County candies.
[SPEAKER_17]: No, but you need to be in costume.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I've actually, I've been on team move putting together a possible cost to them.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think you will appreciate it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Shall I reveal it?
[SPEAKER_17]: Because Mike's not going to hear this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Fred, Freddy from Scooby-Doo.
[SPEAKER_17]: Alright.
[SPEAKER_03]: The hard thing was finding, finding the orange culture from Mike.
[SPEAKER_17]: Now, you know what do you really want to say?
[SPEAKER_17]: I will have to buy a wig.
[SPEAKER_17]: What?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: You know what would you rotate Mike?
[SPEAKER_17]: Was that?
[SPEAKER_17]: If we didn't tell Mike ahead of time, and our cost tombs matched.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, who was you?
[SPEAKER_17]: Would you be Velma?
[SPEAKER_17]: Uh, yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember all the characters.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, I would prefer actually, and I know you could do it because you could buy it and return it is Scooby.
[SPEAKER_03]: I could do it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen the costumes where they cut the face out, but you still have Scooby's head on top.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: But that's be real.
[SPEAKER_17]: Michael would do the Scooby.
[SPEAKER_17]: Michael would need to be Scooby because he could get the voice.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I would want Mike to be the like evil pharmacist that was also going to rip the mask off.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and he said, and I would have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for that meddling Robin Josh and there's stupid dog.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right, so jukebox rock.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to consider it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Elvus radio tomorrow will happen.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'd like to see some feedback in the chat room.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you have an Elvis song you want to hear, please let me know because I'll play the hits also play obscure stuff and things from the new album from Elvus epic that I think you're going to enjoy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Speaking of Halloween, Nightmares.
[SPEAKER_03]: I had a weird dream last night, and Josh has a night Mary wants to talk about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no.
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
[SPEAKER_03]: No.

[SPEAKER_03]: No.
[SPEAKER_05]: Some of the greatest things in history have come from great pairings, but none of them can compare to the newest partnership that's the talk of the town.
[SPEAKER_05]: Also the county.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's the one you've been waiting for.
[SPEAKER_05]: The micro-marisho and Jimmy's old town tavern.

[SPEAKER_05]: And remember, please, sauce responsibly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Programming node timing would work out better Josh if we skipped the last commercial break is I going to penalize anybody today.
[SPEAKER_03]: Did you see the test message I was about to say?
[SPEAKER_03]: I did not.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I did not send it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, great.
[SPEAKER_03]: Same idea.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Two things real quick before we talk nightmares.
[SPEAKER_03]: First off, I had jot hot this morning with my breakfast out, Stan.
[SPEAKER_03]: What do you put on the eggs?
[SPEAKER_03]: Eggs, eggs, sounds.
[SPEAKER_03]: I had leftover Popeyes from last night.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you know what?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean left over fried chicken warmed in the oven and then you dip it in jot hot Forget it.
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, I'm not saying anything about it.
[SPEAKER_17]: Not taste and good.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there were no leftover red beans and rice But the chicken was left and uh to Joey Bagadona.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's 207-4 who says for f'sake he's dead
[SPEAKER_03]: I would like for you to keep in mind, Joey, keep ignoring the past.
[SPEAKER_03]: It seems to work so well in the present, doesn't it?
[SPEAKER_03]: It kind of speaks to where we are in America.
[SPEAKER_03]: I look back at history doesn't really hurt.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's all.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's all.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to say, that's it.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what, Joey?
[SPEAKER_03]: Watch 1776.
[SPEAKER_03]: Great musical.
[SPEAKER_03]: I learned some history.
[SPEAKER_17]: I told you I wanted to talk about Mike's nightmare because I tried to get Mike to talk about it on the bonus show, but it was really late in the bonus show.
[SPEAKER_17]: So that'll come out.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, also, no one really wants to talk about their own nightmares, but he shared with us.
[SPEAKER_17]: He shared with us early in the week that this nightmare is that his red socks are going to suck.
[SPEAKER_17]: And that's how he had it.
[SPEAKER_17]: Because they had it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, because someone who is an outside and from an outside are looking in, a casual observer, which is what I am, the socks had a horrible beginning, then they had an amazing run.
[SPEAKER_03]: Was it like 14 wins in a row?
[SPEAKER_17]: They had a record set in July.
[SPEAKER_03]: which is like unheard of in basically baseball best record in baseball in July by far so that was incredible and so Mike started as he does every year I've worked with him over 30 years it's always he starts singing this is the year
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the year they made the move.
[SPEAKER_17]: They got they got my catcher They got your catcher with a weird name.
[SPEAKER_17]: They gave up four of their top ten prospects to get this catcher It's like they what if you know what it is like they were as The red socks were as hungry to go all the way as the orials were dismisses about it Well, it's like Mike ran the organization because as soon as Mike got hot they also got excited and said oh this is it we're all in
[SPEAKER_03]: So how are they like said he has this nightmare that even after this game to life changing July Things are gonna go bad.
[SPEAKER_17]: He brought this up on Monday and I go on Monday.
[SPEAKER_17]: They lost.
[SPEAKER_17]: Let's see
[SPEAKER_17]: they lost two in a row one monday and that was his concern was so double header when they get on both well no no i think they lost like i think saturday and sunday they okay so leaving it on monday show they lost two in a row as of right now they've lost five in a row
[SPEAKER_17]: Wow, that is a, they are spiraling down and you know why is that, is that record setting five in a row?
[SPEAKER_03]: Not yet, but I'm hoping it continues.
[SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Mike, I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_03]: My team's not good, either.
[SPEAKER_17]: My team's probably going to miss the playoffs, but I am enjoying seeing the spiral after Mike brought up.
[SPEAKER_17]: That is nightmare.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you know, I mean, Mike is a sports fan who enjoys the struggle.
[SPEAKER_03]: And he sort of saw it coming, and he's struggling again.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Since you are probably today, between the two of us, the bigger sports expert, I'd like for you to comment on this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hi, Procam says, the Mariners are now well below 500.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: What are you thinking about the Mariners this year?
[SPEAKER_03]: The Mariners are not good either.
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, the Mariners got my outfielder.
[SPEAKER_17]: Taylor Ward, so maybe the curse is, if you traded for an Orioles player, you're gonna fall apart.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you, it's almost like a weird modern family situation where you have relatives and every town now.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're just spreading all your relatives, all your family around.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is the Mariners the stupidest name in baseball for an order?
[SPEAKER_17]: No, no, no.
[SPEAKER_17]: No, in fact this one.
[SPEAKER_17]: The Los Angeles Angels is the stupidest name.
[SPEAKER_17]: not because they can't make up their mind with their town as my childhood they were the California angels.
[SPEAKER_17]: I do remember the Los Angeles angels of Anaheim and then they became the Los Angeles or no for a small portion they were the Anaheim angels.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then they were did you drop a ball like you were playing for the area?
[SPEAKER_03]: My parents though.
[SPEAKER_17]: But then they uh
[SPEAKER_17]: Now they are currently the Los Angeles Angels, but their stadium is in Anaheim, so there is an alley law that passed all the steps that it'll be on Governor Newsom's desk, I guess, this week.
[SPEAKER_17]: For him to sign, which will require the Los Angeles Angels to be called the Anaheim Angels, if they're ever sold or bought by someone else.
[SPEAKER_03]: So when they were the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim,
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a very long name.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Almost like what the Catholic Church did.
[SPEAKER_03]: When they found out there was like 18 St. John's churches in Virginia and they all had to pick up extra words like the St. John's church I went to and McLean Virginia is now St. John's the beloved.
[SPEAKER_03]: And if you bring it up to like an older church member, they're like you know, screw that.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're not St. John's the beloved.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're St. John.
[SPEAKER_03]: They get very territorial about their Catholic churches.
[SPEAKER_17]: And that's why I have trouble with the angels,
[SPEAKER_17]: their name was problematic.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's not like the Indians changing to the guardians.
[SPEAKER_17]: I understand that move.
[SPEAKER_03]: But as a religious guy as a man of faith, does it bother you that they were calling themselves angels?
[SPEAKER_17]: No, no, and I don't agree.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because they're not real angels.
[SPEAKER_17]: No, no.
[SPEAKER_17]: But I am more mad that it's city politics that makes them keep changing their name.
[SPEAKER_17]: And someone, I don't know anyone in Anaheim, but you must have a real stick stock somewhere in the city of Anaheim to have this much pride that you have to have a law passed to make sure your city name is in the name of the team.
[SPEAKER_17]: You are because that's what you're talking about.
[SPEAKER_17]: This is like Landover.
[SPEAKER_17]: If Landover suddenly needed to be the Washington Commanders of Landover.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, and you know what I say to the stadiums there.
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel so bad for people that watch a national game that features the Commanders slash Washington Football Game slash Redskins.
[SPEAKER_03]: When they say it's a home game and they show the Washington Monument and the capital
[SPEAKER_03]: They don't realize that Landover is like 30 miles away from them.
[SPEAKER_17]: No, they should show the beltway and The parking and the parking lot that is on the other side of the beltway, so you have to take the bus across I would like a big shot of the church that says praise the Lord in like 40 foot letters that shares the parking lot with this
[SPEAKER_03]: So, as far as Mike's nightmare goes, that's fine.
[SPEAKER_03]: I started taking a supplement, and I'm trying to find that it's a magnesium brand sub, but it's some kind of magnesium, I don't know, in the name of it.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's supposed to help you sleep.
[SPEAKER_03]: It what it does is it quietes the mind as you know that you have the same thing is that when we lay down our minds tend to race and one thing is I come up with some pretty decent ideas when I'm asleep but it does keep me up at night so this is to calm that down and but one of the side effects of this is it makes me have crazy dreams and
[SPEAKER_03]: And I had some weird ass dreams last night to the point that I wanted to talk them out when I woke up because I knew I'd forget them.
[SPEAKER_17]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, I do too.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I was on vacation with a bunch of people that normally I wouldn't vacation with.
[SPEAKER_03]: One was a generic radio guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know who it was.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was just a guy that was in radio.
[SPEAKER_03]: One was my Uncle Pete, my father's twin.
[SPEAKER_03]: Carrie was there.
[SPEAKER_03]: uh... mic was there and we're in this big beach house that had all kinds of shelving with toys and electronics on it and there was a song we kept singing and it was gadgets and food and electronics to this is the best vacation ever and then
[SPEAKER_03]: we said what are we going to eat and they said don't worry we've got all these boxes of cereal and I looked on the shelf next to the remote control planes and there was rows and rows of boxes of cereal and I grabbed one that I liked it doesn't matter what it was and I opened it when I poured it into the bowl puzzle pieces came out it wasn't cereal it was jigsaw puzzle pieces and my uncle Pete looked at me and he said
[SPEAKER_03]: Don't lose any of those.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll need them when we do the puzzle.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it was just nothing made sense in retrospect.
[SPEAKER_03]: It made perfect sense in the dream.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it was so real.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was one of those dreams that was like, so real when it was happening.
[SPEAKER_03]: It didn't feel like a dream.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the thing that keeps coming back to me is the cereal box full of puzzle pieces.
[SPEAKER_03]: Any idea what that could mean?
[SPEAKER_17]: Well, you know, whenever you pour your dream out to me,
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, I go straight into my AI dream analysis.
[SPEAKER_03]: You see, this is why you're so smart.
[SPEAKER_17]: Okay, I would, I should have done this.
[SPEAKER_17]: Go ahead.
[SPEAKER_17]: All right, so I'm, I'm scanning it.
[SPEAKER_17]: It says, all right, vacation means there's a celebration happening.
[SPEAKER_17]: Okay, there's something coming up.
[SPEAKER_17]: The reason there's so many gadgets on the wall and serial boxes on the wall is because you have a lot of choices to make now.
[SPEAKER_17]: Okay, things aren't finished, but you're starting to put the pieces together.
[SPEAKER_17]: So when you dump out your cereal bowl and it's a bunch of puzzle pieces, it's because there's something exciting that you're working on, but you don't have all the pieces put together yet.
[SPEAKER_17]: So it's not cereal, it's you trying to put together a puzzle.
[SPEAKER_17]: Now what all these people have to do with it?
[SPEAKER_17]: It does not tell me why Mike and Kerry and Uncle Pete are there.
[SPEAKER_03]: dreams are wild.
[SPEAKER_03]: They really, really are.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for helping me make some sense of it, but there's nothing about the remote control planes.
[SPEAKER_17]: No, my favorite line is the generic radio guy is especially funny because your brain apparently decided we need another broadcast and personality here, but I'm not going to cast anyone specific.
[SPEAKER_03]: Josh, as a gadget, I think you'll appreciate the fact that every remote control plane had four remote.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you could like fly it with other, I don't know, just train you to happen.
[SPEAKER_17]: So okay, every remote control plane plane in the room had four remote.
[SPEAKER_03]: So mine is not a nightmare really, not as disastrous as the the socks losing five in a row, but it's still something, right?
[SPEAKER_17]: Rob, it says this new thing that you're trying to build.
[SPEAKER_17]: There are too many people trying to control the same thing.
[SPEAKER_17]: So it's if four people are trying to control and everybody's having fun together, everybody's performing together.
[SPEAKER_17]: Everybody has gadgets and things they can do on their own, but everyone is trying to control things.
[SPEAKER_17]: Nobody's clearly the pilot, and you're looking for some simple and sustain and instead you're handling a puzzle piece that you have to figure out and put together to see what's next.
[SPEAKER_03]: Josh, this is provided exactly no help, but thank you for doing that.
[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate it.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's not to help.
[SPEAKER_17]: It tells me that something's going on in your life.
[SPEAKER_17]: That's exciting and new, but you have to figure out all the details.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, the last thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what's exciting and new?
[SPEAKER_03]: The love boat.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what's exciting and new.
[SPEAKER_03]: When we come back, I've got beautiful video that we will enjoy and we will do that after this on the My Go Marriage Show.
[SPEAKER_05]: Attention T. M. O. S. fans, we've noticed something every Monday through Thursday thousands of people happily download the free show lap their heads off and then quietly slip away into the night like podcast ninjas.
[SPEAKER_10]: We know who you are.
[SPEAKER_05]: But if you're ready to graduate from free loader to TMOs player, it's time for the TMOs bonus show.
[SPEAKER_05]: Every Friday we crank things up with extra stories, extra laughs, extra behind the scenes and sanity, and the stuff that just doesn't fit in the regular show.
[SPEAKER_05]: Do you want the VIP treatment?
[SPEAKER_05]: Grab the commercial free feed.
[SPEAKER_05]: With the bonus show included every single week.
[SPEAKER_05]: or step into the producer's club, our little corner of the internet where the true TMOs faithful gather.
[SPEAKER_05]: Here's the important part.
[SPEAKER_05]: Your subscription isn't just buying more laughs.
[SPEAKER_05]: It keeps the microphones on, all the servers humming and this wonderfully ridiculous circus alive.
[SPEAKER_05]: So stop standing outside with your nose pressed against the window.
[SPEAKER_05]: Come on in!
[SPEAKER_05]: Hit the bonus show tab at TMOspodcast.com and join the party because life's too short
[SPEAKER_03]: I agree.
[SPEAKER_03]: The supplement I was looking for is magnesium, glycinate, GL-Y-C-I-N-A-T-E, magnesium, glycinate.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's nothing though.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, I am sleeping, and I'm having the weird dreams too.
[SPEAKER_03]: But make sure that's exactly what you get and get the capsules, not the gummies, because there's other magnesiums, and as my doctor was, he's fully, you know, he went to medical school.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you take that, you will shit your brains out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I like that some beautiful video Jerry time nobody wants that and I really great phone a show out tomorrow.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, very good.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're going to love it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think, you know, here's a producer's club like comment.
[SPEAKER_03]: This has been a very fun week of shows.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know it's because we're writing the middle of summer or whatever.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're just relaxed and they're fine.
[SPEAKER_17]: This it has been this has been a week where everyone has came in or relaxed.
[SPEAKER_17]: Everyone has been cut has been ready to have fun.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's been one of my favorite
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, until today's show, which I think we can all agree that's all about disaster, yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: Thank you for the listener.
[SPEAKER_03]: So artificial intelligence seems to be all the rage.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's in all the newspapers, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: This had me fooled for a second, until I started to really analyze the details.
[SPEAKER_03]: They said, we're finally releasing the lost episode of Seinfeld from 1998.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I said, oh, wow.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the plot was...
[SPEAKER_03]: I know, but here's the thing, it's AI, of course.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it is so well done, it just might fool you.
[SPEAKER_03]: And not just the audio, but the even the video looks right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Here is a sign-file, artificially intelligent.
[SPEAKER_02]: Smart out, Georgie.
[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think, Jerry?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the first listening party.
[SPEAKER_02]: I got to make a big impression.
[SPEAKER_02]: A big impression?
[SPEAKER_02]: You look like a walking marathon, you know, Jerry.
[SPEAKER_02]: on a guy, cars downstairs, we gotta get to the stadium and finish the album.
[SPEAKER_03]: So George recorded a rabbit.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're really gonna record your album in a locker room?
[SPEAKER_02]: Not just any locker room, Jerry.
[SPEAKER_02]: This room has been treated by the best rap producer in the world.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's Kramer, of course.
[SPEAKER_02]: Trust the process, Jerry.
[SPEAKER_02]: Are you really going to call the albumist, though?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's after my mother and remembrance.
[SPEAKER_02]: Your mother's alive.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm being proactive, Jerry.
[SPEAKER_03]: The thing that really threw me is when they change environments, the audio on the voice has changed, like the ambient changes.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's wild.
[SPEAKER_17]: It looks so rad.
[SPEAKER_17]: It's not bad, and that's the problem is it's little details that are missing, but it's just going to keep getting better.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, can you imagine if, like you really did get Larry David nailed down to write an actual sign-filled quality script, they could make it now, they could actually make it.
[SPEAKER_03]: They could.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, just it blows my mind and quit fooling me.
[SPEAKER_03]: How lazy on a scale of one to ten, ten being the most lazy, do you think Americans are?
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I think Americans.
[SPEAKER_17]: are not that lazy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think they're about a six.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think there are a man?
[SPEAKER_03]: Are there Americans though that are looking to be lazier?
[SPEAKER_17]: Oh 100%.
[SPEAKER_17]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because I got this ad on everyone younger than me.
[SPEAKER_03]: I got this ad on my, and I think this was Facebook.
[SPEAKER_03]: I want you to stay with it because the thing that surprised me was the text that came with the ad.
[SPEAKER_03]: But first, let's look at the ad.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Duck and traffic, and I have to pee right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: That panic hits fast, legs locked, sweating, nowhere to go.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is why I keep these in my car.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a disposable emergency pee bag that absorbs in seconds, turns liquid into gel, and seals tight so nothing leaks or smells.
[SPEAKER_01]: I used one during a 40-minute traffic jam, no mess, no cleanup, no stress.
[SPEAKER_01]: Perfect for road trips, kids, camping, sickness, or real emergency.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I understand the value on the product.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'm a guy who takes LASIC, so I understand the urgency, but one of the things in the written sales pitch was great for long flights.
[SPEAKER_17]: All right, you lost me on lost for long flights because I mean that if there's a bathroom on most planes, right, you're right bigger point what I could use that for is belt way sitting on that in that belt way and no and if I have to get off to use the bathroom, it's adding an extra 30 40 minutes to my drive I agree, but
[SPEAKER_17]: But, yeah, you lost me at the planes.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're right.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's just plain rude and besides, although I suppose it's practical, the last thing I want to think about is P gelatin.
[SPEAKER_17]: And, you know what, it's not necessary because you can always use a water bottle, or a coat bottle.
[SPEAKER_17]: Exactly, yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: You can always make do because if I keep that thing of my glass bottle.
[SPEAKER_03]: Or a gatorade bottle if you're particularly gifted.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yes, yeah.
[SPEAKER_17]: Well, you can get the, what is the Pepsi, like big slam or whatever, it's got the big open in as well.
[SPEAKER_17]: But, you know, I can't pass you in front of me, exactly.
[SPEAKER_17]: If I kept those things in my glove box, the instant it got used, it would be going out my car window.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: What are they called about that thing?
[SPEAKER_03]: I think fronters used to call the box, they were called sunshine grenades.
[SPEAKER_17]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Then they would throw out the window.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what that is.
[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, it looks very biodegradable.
[SPEAKER_03]: Great for long flights.
[SPEAKER_03]: and I saw it and I remembered it but I didn't remember how ridiculous it was.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's early, early internet, I guess it's a meme or it was certainly viral.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you remember when Miss South Carolina was, uh, for Miss Teen USA was asked a question that she could not handle.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so she babbled her answer.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you remember those?
[SPEAKER_03]: I do.
[SPEAKER_03]: This merits a look at again.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't normally retread stuff certainly from years ago But I want you to listen to this and try to decode which you know, with our 2026 eyes.
[SPEAKER_12]: Exactly Polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the US on a world map.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_12]: Why do you think this is?
[SPEAKER_12]: I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have bounce and I believe that our education like such isn't.
[SPEAKER_12]: South Africa and the Iraq everywhere like such as and I believe that they should our education over here and the US should help the US, or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future.
[SPEAKER_03]: that time that time or couldn't have gone off faster no she had a meltdown she really did and she was ready to answer something about foreign relations right so she mentioned i rack and all that but here's the thing that i did not know that really is a great capital to that tape shot she came in third
[SPEAKER_03]: She genuinely came in third.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's not the giving that answer.
[SPEAKER_17]: I would mean that's one part of the trivias, a small part of the contest.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I don't think it's trivias, much of it is the long-term question.
[SPEAKER_17]: Trivias would be like, I would not like it to fold the bait, like, put it to your point.
[SPEAKER_03]: who played the Riddler in TV's Batman, and then she could do the same answer for that.
[SPEAKER_03]: That would be trivia.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, you know what?
[SPEAKER_03]: Great that that tape still exists in beautiful high definition, and also great to see Mario Lopez, who I would like to tell us.
[SPEAKER_17]: I think it's also a great example of people that tried to just talk and talk.
[SPEAKER_17]: We can circles, where they never get their point out or what they want, they just want to sound smart.
[SPEAKER_03]: And some people, myself included, have made a great career of that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's close with this.
[SPEAKER_03]: The great Willie Nelson.
[SPEAKER_03]: When you think of him, you probably think country singer.
[SPEAKER_03]: You might think marijuana and enthusiasm.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_03]: Go ahead.
[SPEAKER_03]: And great song.
[SPEAKER_03]: No matter beautiful songs, he's written, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: You don't think of him as a particularly funny guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: And also, you know, I'm been at this a while.
[SPEAKER_17]: But I do hear when I hear him.
[SPEAKER_17]: Talk about how they love him and love to hang out with him.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I think it's the pod.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it's because he's teaching him cereal.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I know a lot of jokes and most anytime someone tells me a joke, even if I haven't heard it, I know where it's going.
[SPEAKER_03]: Here's Willie Nelson telling his favorite dirty joke, and I have never heard it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So all Hill Willie Nelson, who I believe is a hundred and ninety years old.
[SPEAKER_10]: Christmas time.
[SPEAKER_10]: and the doorbell rang and the lady went to the door and the postman was there.
[SPEAKER_10]: She said, come in, John, Merry Christmas.
[SPEAKER_10]: She, when the lady went to the back room, it screwed his brains out, brought him back.
[SPEAKER_10]: I'll fix him a big breakfast of ham and eggs, biscuit and gravy, and then walked into the door and handing my daughter and said, Merry Christmas.
[SPEAKER_10]: And the guy said, what just happened, lady?
[SPEAKER_10]: She said, well, I asked my husband what to give you for Christmas and it said, fuck, I'm giving him a dollar.
[SPEAKER_10]: She said, the breakfast was my idea.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the breakfast was her idea.
[SPEAKER_03]: Never heard it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I hope you enjoyed this episode, jarheads of the Josh and Rob show.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll be back tomorrow with a beautiful bonus show.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm trying to think, what was your highlight from the bonus show this week?
[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about a lot of stuff.
[SPEAKER_17]: Honestly, I don't remember the bonus show.
[SPEAKER_17]: I remember going away and saying that was a fun bonus show I like the week that I don't remember.
[SPEAKER_03]: We brought back a Spyroport We go through the least burger.
[SPEAKER_17]: I always enjoy Spyroport We go through the least burg next door app, which is always fun.
[SPEAKER_17]: No
[SPEAKER_03]: So check it out, that will drop tonight at Midnight.
[SPEAKER_03]: And also tomorrow, I try to get it on early for you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Elvis Rob Radio for Elvis Death Day is we observe.
[SPEAKER_03]: You don't celebrate and you observe at the 49th anniversary of the passing of the King of Rock and Roll.
[SPEAKER_17]: And still room for you available in the Producer's Club.
[SPEAKER_03]: What time is that tomorrow is that 11 am?
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, here's some, here's a fun wrinkle that Josh doesn't even know.
[SPEAKER_03]: I might be doing the producer's bug from the Volkswagen dealership.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay.
[SPEAKER_17]: I'll leave some things to do.
[SPEAKER_17]: I'll leave some things to do.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I think it might be fun to do it for 11 am.
[SPEAKER_17]: The dealership.
[SPEAKER_03]: They've got one of them fancy Coke machines.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, with the freestyle Coke machine, they see a Volkswagen cost a billion dollars to fix, but they treat you nice in the wild.
[SPEAKER_17]: Right, all the soda you can take.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then I use my pee bag who turns my urine into a beautiful gelatin.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure they've got bathrooms there.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_03]: No bathrooms.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's very German.
[SPEAKER_03]: You have to hold it.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what they do.
[SPEAKER_03]: We will see you again tomorrow.
[SPEAKER_03]: And Mike will be back for not only the bonus show, but fresh new show with the three of us on Monday.
[SPEAKER_03]: Until then, we will talk to you later.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I love you, Bob.
[SPEAKER_05]: Thanks for listening to another episode of the Michael Mary Show.
