<v Speaker 1>guess the highest gate or highest grossing attendance they've ever

<v Speaker 1>had for a SmackDown in Toronto. So this was a

<v Speaker 1>big show tonight. Now why do you think that was

<v Speaker 1>Why do you think they had fifteen thousand or eighteen

<v Speaker 1>thousand or fifty thousand people, whatever the exaggerated number is

<v Speaker 1>going to be. One reason you can give all the

<v Speaker 1>credit to two men, Kevin Owens, mostly Kevin Owens and Cmpunk,

<v Speaker 1>because tonight they were in the main event, wrestling for

<v Speaker 1>the WWE Championship. And this was about as much of

<v Speaker 1>a one match show as you will ever see. When

<v Speaker 1>I tell you this was a one match show, This

<v Speaker 1>was a one segment show, is what this was. And

<v Speaker 1>I had to hear from people of the last few weeks.

<v Speaker 1>Couple weeks now, we were kind of joking about this

<v Speaker 1>on TNT the other night Smackdowns turned a corner, And

<v Speaker 1>I'm like, you know, can we wait a little bit

<v Speaker 1>before we proclaim that SmackDown has turned some sort of

<v Speaker 1>creative corner here, because I haven't seen it, okay, And like,

<v Speaker 1>one good SmackDown does not make a streak of great Smackdowns.

<v Speaker 1>Let's just wait and see what happens. It's great that

<v Speaker 1>CM punk got moved over to SmackDown. I think that

<v Speaker 1>could benefit the show. It's great that we have Kevin

<v Speaker 1>Owens back right. There are signs that would lead you

<v Speaker 1>to believe that, hey, maybe maybe we have better times

<v Speaker 1>ahead for SmackDown, and maybe we do. Tonight was not

<v Speaker 1>one of those times. SmackDown. Tonight was largely a very

<v Speaker 1>boring show, and it shocks me that they had that

<v Speaker 1>many people in the building tonight. They had fifteen thousand people,

<v Speaker 1>eighteen thousand people, And this is the show that they

<v Speaker 1>gave them. This is the show that they gave them. Horrendous,

<v Speaker 1>absolutely horrendous, a boring ninety d plus minutes with a

<v Speaker 1>very good main event. That's why I say this was

<v Speaker 1>a one match show. I was very much looking forward

<v Speaker 1>to this. It's hard to believe that for as long

<v Speaker 1>as Kevin Owens and Sea I'm Punk have been doing

<v Speaker 1>this for as long as they have been in pro wrestling,

<v Speaker 1>and they've crossed pads in over the years, and they

<v Speaker 1>kind of came from the same places. They've never had

<v Speaker 1>a match before. This was legitimately their first ever match,

<v Speaker 1>their first ever one on one encounter tonight on this show.

<v Speaker 1>Punk had a great match last month with Sammy's Ame

<v Speaker 1>when he won the WWE Championship. Kevin Owens, he just

<v Speaker 1>came back after seventeen months on the shelf, had a

<v Speaker 1>very good match at SummerSlam. I mean they got eight minutes,

<v Speaker 1>so I mean, you know, as much as you can

<v Speaker 1>have this a great, wonderful match in eight minutes, So

<v Speaker 1>I was very much looking forward to it. I thought

<v Speaker 1>these two delivered until we got to the finish, and

<v Speaker 1>then we got pretty much what I expected to get,

<v Speaker 1>which was a bunch of fuckery. Because as much as

<v Speaker 1>I wanted to see Kevin Owens walk out of Toronto

<v Speaker 1>as the WWE Champion, I knew in my heart that

<v Speaker 1>that was not going to happen. And I knew that

<v Speaker 1>Sammy's Ame was gonna show up as soon as Sammy

<v Speaker 1>got screwed at the end of the show last week

<v Speaker 1>when he was promised by Nick All this, if you

<v Speaker 1>beat Cody Rhodes, I will give you the first shot

<v Speaker 1>against whoever comes out of this match tonight, you will

<v Speaker 1>get a championship match. And then Sammy came out last

<v Speaker 1>week and the match never even started because Randy Orton

<v Speaker 1>went out there right he brawled all over the building

<v Speaker 1>with Cody Rhoades, and I said, this man got screwed

<v Speaker 1>yet again. It feeds into this whole gimmick justice for Sammy.

<v Speaker 1>There's no way that we're not gonna see Sammy's ame

<v Speaker 1>pop up and play some kind of role in the

<v Speaker 1>end of this match. Even if he tries to help

<v Speaker 1>Kevin Owens, it's gonna blow up in his face. Surprise, surprise,

<v Speaker 1>That's exactly what we got here. Kevin Owens. He was

<v Speaker 1>this close to becoming WWE champion for the first time

<v Speaker 1>in his career. But the streak continues. I'm not even

<v Speaker 1>sure what the exact number. I thought he was zero

<v Speaker 1>for thirteen. He might be it's into double digits. All

<v Speaker 1>the opportunities he's ever had to become the champion, he

<v Speaker 1>still cannot get the job done. And Sammy's ain't tried.

<v Speaker 1>He tried to help him. He tried. Ultimately, Kevin did

<v Speaker 1>not want his help. He got blasted in the head

<v Speaker 1>with the belt for his troubles, and see I'm punk

<v Speaker 1>was more than happy to take advantage get the pen

<v Speaker 1>and is still the champion. Oh it's right, Steve Mellow

<v Speaker 1>a fresh match that we haven't seen before. But I mean,

<v Speaker 1>in all honesty, in all seriousness, we kind of knew,

<v Speaker 1>we had to know that that was going to be

<v Speaker 1>the direction coming out of this show. So I'm just

<v Speaker 1>not sure if we're going to get a WWE title

<v Speaker 1>in the Bank. Money in the Bank would be the

<v Speaker 1>next real pl that they're doing, and they released a

<v Speaker 1>whole schedule Punk's entire schedule through the end of October.

<v Speaker 1>back and watch the Renegade episode of Dark Side of

<v Speaker 1>the Ring. It'll make a lot more sense. Renegade used

<v Speaker 1>to be an exotic male dancer before he got into

<v Speaker 1>pro wrestling, and so arn Anderson had to wrestle him

<v Speaker 1>at one of the w CW pay per views. In fact,

<v Speaker 1>I believe he lost his television championship to Renegade, but

<v Speaker 1>Arne was not happy about doing it because he believes

<v Speaker 1>that if you are going to get into the business,

<v Speaker 1>you should be a pro wrestler, not a did dangster.

<v Speaker 1>kill each other in Atlanta next month, but if either

<v Speaker 1>of you touches the other, that person will never again

<v Speaker 1>get a WWE Championship match. So there's your no Basically,

<v Speaker 1>there's your no physicality clause. Orton said that he would

<v Speaker 1>be mister professional. He would follow the rules and do

<v Speaker 1>what he's told. He's not going to risk not getting

<v Speaker 1>a sudden, the conversation turns to, well, is there any

<v Speaker 1>Paul Hayman? Right, everything seems to revolve around Haymen in

<v Speaker 1>some form or fashion here. I mean, it's ridiculous. But

<v Speaker 1>beyond that, this was not much of a segment. You

<v Speaker 1>know what really happened here? Nothing? We know. Cody hates Randy,

<v Speaker 1>Randy hates Cody. Now they can't touch. We have one

<v Speaker 1>is gonna be cool as fuck. Him walking down to

<v Speaker 1>the ring with that with that walking stick. Actually, someone

<v Speaker 1>said it looks like a shower rod, and I can't

<v Speaker 1>get that out of my head now. Every time I

<v Speaker 1>see him walking down to the ring, it's him and

<v Speaker 1>his shower rod. I have to say this also when

<v Speaker 1>they came out to the ring. The music that mft's

<v Speaker 1>instrumental is that Tallatonga's theme. I think it's just Taalatonga's theme.

<v Speaker 1>We didn't hear his theme very often because we didn't

<v Speaker 1>see him have matches on SmackDown by Himself very often,

<v Speaker 1>but I'm pretty sure it's his muse. I think it's

<v Speaker 1>a song called Destroyer. It's pretty good. I think it's

<v Speaker 1>a pretty badass. I mean, it's just an instrumental, but

<v Speaker 1>revenge or try to go for revenge on the woman

<v Speaker 1>who attacked her seven years ago. It feels like now

<v Speaker 1>attack Julia? When when did Julia have that match with

<v Speaker 1>Keana James? It had to be at least a month ago, right,

<v Speaker 1>six weeks? Why the fuck did it take this long

<v Speaker 1>to get to this point? But I'm like, okay, you

<v Speaker 1>Julia one on one except yeah, right, not really psych Yeah, no,

<v Speaker 1>I don't think so the match never started. Instead, Julia

<v Speaker 1>getting an entrance. Something felt very off to me, like, Hm,

<v Speaker 1>why are they giving Julia a full entrance here? That

<v Speaker 1>doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't they be giving Blake

<v Speaker 1>a full entrance for her debut. She already said that

<v Speaker 1>Triple H told her that she's not keeping the same

<v Speaker 1>entrance that she had in NXT, So I don't know

<v Speaker 1>what her new entrance is going to be. She said, Well,

<v Speaker 1>I trust Triple A, and Triple AH does tend to

<v Speaker 1>be good when it comes to stuff like that in

<v Speaker 1>terms of like creative entrances and stuff, So I don't

<v Speaker 1>know what ultimately her actual entrance will look like. But

<v Speaker 1>Julia starts coming out to the ring, and then sure

<v Speaker 1>enough we found out why she was getting an entrance here.

<v Speaker 1>She gets jumped by Blake Monroe, and Blake threw her

<v Speaker 1>into the barricade. She threw her into the ring steps

<v Speaker 1>then she threw her into the ring and Blake nailed

<v Speaker 1>her with a head butt and then she hit a

<v Speaker 1>neutralizer and then the referee waved Blake away as he

<v Speaker 1>was kneeling over Julia. And it's not like Julia was

<v Speaker 1>even out. She wasn't even selling it like she was

<v Speaker 1>out cold. She was just she kind of popped back

<v Speaker 1>up and the referee is just sort of hovering over

<v Speaker 1>her and telling Blake to stay away, and then they

<v Speaker 1>played Blake's music and she left. That's it. I guess

<v Speaker 1>the timekeeper made the decision that this match is not

<v Speaker 1>going to take place, the timekeeper or the music person,

<v Speaker 1>whoever it was. I didn't see the referee say anything.

<v Speaker 1>And so that was the end of this segment. I

<v Speaker 1>kid you now, that was the entire thing. Even the

<v Speaker 1>fans in the crowded looked like, We're like, what the fuck?

<v Speaker 1>What was that? And then it was over sixty seconds,

<v Speaker 1>boom done. They're going in very hard on this idea

<v Speaker 1>that Blake feels that she should debut on a women's

<v Speaker 1>championship match. She mentioned it a few times tonight. She's

<v Speaker 1>made mentioned it before. Actually in that segment last week

<v Speaker 1>that didn't err on the show. They had it as

<v Speaker 1>like an online exclusive. She was talking to Nick All

<v Speaker 1>this all. This was like, you know, I've been getting

<v Speaker 1>a lot of complaints about you from the other women

<v Speaker 1>on the roster, and she's like, well, I I'm fine

<v Speaker 1>with making my debut next week. I think it should

<v Speaker 1>be in a WWE Women's Championship match, and instead she

<v Speaker 1>ended up with this Julia match. So they're really leaning

<v Speaker 1>into this idea. Maybe this is going to continue where

<v Speaker 1>every time Nick All just tries to put this woman

<v Speaker 1>in a match, we get the same thing where she

<v Speaker 1>jumps her opponent, the match doesn't start, and eventually this

<v Speaker 1>is all leading to her making her debut in a

<v Speaker 1>women's championship match once Chelsea Green has been medically cleared

<v Speaker 1>and she can actually defend her title again, and maybe

<v Speaker 1>there is some weird, warped plan here for her to

<v Speaker 1>eventually debut and win the women's title. Now we'll look

<v Speaker 1>back on this and say, you know what, this was

<v Speaker 1>all still pretty fucking lame, but at least it wins

<v Speaker 1>so where at least it led to something fruitful for

<v Speaker 1>Blake Monroe. But to do that would be to give

<v Speaker 1>them the benefit of the doubt, which I've given them

<v Speaker 1>in the past. I'm done doing that. They haven't done

<v Speaker 1>anything to really deserve that. We'll find out soon enough.

<v Speaker 1>bet it doesn't, but it should. Corbin says, Trick lost

<v Speaker 1>the title man, and then he lost the rematch, so

<v Speaker 1>that's it. What do you have to offer me? What

<v Speaker 1>do you possibly have that you could offer me, because

<v Speaker 1>it isn't happening now. It isn't happening ever. Yachti gets

<v Speaker 1>back in the ring. He's behind Corbyn, He's got the

<v Speaker 1>trick stick and he whacks him with the Kendo stick hard,

<v Speaker 1>and he whacks him again. He hit him hard in

<v Speaker 1>the elbow. Corbin was holding his arm here even at

<v Speaker 1>the end of the segment, and then Trick knocks him

<v Speaker 1>out of the ring. So Corbin gets on the mic.

<v Speaker 1>then Sunday Night's main event sounds as good as anything,

<v Speaker 1>because Toronto certainly doesn't deserve this match. But before that,

<v Speaker 1>I want five minutes with him, and he points up

<v Speaker 1>a YACHTI. He wants five minutes with YACHTI in Yachti's

<v Speaker 1>hometown of Atlanta, and if Lil YACHTI can survive, then

<v Speaker 1>Trick will get his match, which I presume means that

<v Speaker 1>same night he'll get the championship match. But if Corbin wins,

<v Speaker 1>then he's done with Trick forever, and Yachty mulls this over.

<v Speaker 1>Yachty accepts, and Corbin warns him that this will be

<v Speaker 1>the longest five minutes of his life. This segment was

<v Speaker 1>the longest five minutes of my life as I sat

<v Speaker 1>here watching this, And so I will put this up

<v Speaker 1>for Sunday night's main event. Baron Corbin and Lil Yachty,

<v Speaker 1>what did we do to deserve this? And there in

<v Speaker 1>the background, all shrunken down is Trick Williams. So to

<v Speaker 1>beat the clock challenge, which of course Yachty will win,

<v Speaker 1>and when he does, Trick Williams will get his rematch,

<v Speaker 1>and Trick Williams will get his United States Championship back.

<v Speaker 1>Yachti concert on Sunday night's main event. Thankfully, they nixed

<v Speaker 1>that idea, or maybe not, I don't know, because apparently

<v Speaker 1>this was their alternate plan was to put him in

<v Speaker 1>a match. Maybe we should have had him in a concert,

<v Speaker 1>But yes, I forgot to mention that that was a

<v Speaker 1>report from Russell Votes this week. Their original idea was

<v Speaker 1>to have him in concert. So Kevin Owens is backstage

<v Speaker 1>with Kathy Kelly missus Owens. I'm sure didn't like that.

<v Speaker 1>Owens points out that Finn Balor is about to interrupt

<v Speaker 1>them because he could see him. We can't see him,

<v Speaker 1>but camera pans over and there he is. There's Finn Balor.

<v Speaker 1>Baler says he was happy to see Owen's back. The

<v Speaker 1>two of them were good friends, but would have been

<v Speaker 1>nice if I got a heads up. This is in

<v Speaker 1>reference to the match at Summerslim that Owen's basically hijacked.

<v Speaker 1>So now Gunther interrupts and he promises Owens that Balor

<v Speaker 1>is not a problem, but he will be if Owens

<v Speaker 1>wins that title tonight, and then gunher lee. That was

<v Speaker 1>Gunther's entire role on the show. So let's recap the

<v Speaker 1>last two weeks with Dunther. Shall we again? The man

<v Speaker 1>who retired John cnn aj styles. He showed up on

<v Speaker 1>the show last week in the opening segment to interrupt

<v Speaker 1>the women's champion, Chelsea Green, and then wrestled in his

<v Speaker 1>street clothes against Matt Cardona, who has not won a

<v Speaker 1>match on SmackDown since January, and that was his role

<v Speaker 1>on the show, and tonight his role on the show

<v Speaker 1>was to interrupt a brief backstage promo with Kevin Owens

<v Speaker 1>and Finn Baalor and then leave. Hell of a direction

<v Speaker 1>they've got for this guy. Can't wait to see what

<v Speaker 1>he does next. He leaves, and at that point Balor

<v Speaker 1>hypes up. Owens does warn him though that he'll be

<v Speaker 1>waiting for him after he wins the championship. We got

<v Speaker 1>Tiffany Stratton, the now former Women's United States Champion, taking

<v Speaker 1>on Lash Legend. Now. Late in the match, Stratton hit

<v Speaker 1>a lethal injection, Legend avoided a swanton bomb. Stratton then

<v Speaker 1>sidescept a pump kick. Stratton went for the prettiest Moon

<v Speaker 1>Salt ever. Legend, though, pushed her feet and crouched her

<v Speaker 1>on top and then dragged her back down to the

<v Speaker 1>mat and she got her up for her Lash extension

<v Speaker 1>finish and she pinned her. That was surprising. After the

<v Speaker 1>match was over, Legend and Jack's because Naya Jackson was

<v Speaker 1>out there in her corner. They beat up Tiffany some

<v Speaker 1>more until Chelsea Green ran out with a kendo stick

<v Speaker 1>to fight them off. She whacked him with it a

<v Speaker 1>few times. Good for Chelsea, she got to make an

<v Speaker 1>entrance here in Canada. People seemed like they were very

<v Speaker 1>happy to see her. The match itself was no good.

<v Speaker 1>The match was not good. I mean, they're trying with

<v Speaker 1>Lash and she's very ethlic but this was not good.

<v Speaker 1>We got a recap of the Kevin Owens and CM

<v Speaker 1>Punk brief rivalry here that we've only had really for

<v Speaker 1>a few weeks now, but they posted this on social

<v Speaker 1>media the other day. It was very well done. I mean,

<v Speaker 1>maybe the most surprising part of it was the Ring

<v Speaker 1>of honor stuff that they got into. Obviously, they didn't

<v Speaker 1>have access to any of the footage, not that there

<v Speaker 1>is footage of them wrestling each other, but like any

<v Speaker 1>actual video. But we got some still shots of them

<v Speaker 1>from their rohd's. We got Steen in the singlet, we

<v Speaker 1>got Punk with the ROH World title, so they you know,

<v Speaker 1>they touched on that and the story that Owen's told

<v Speaker 1>in their face to face promo when Punk embarrassed him

<v Speaker 1>backstage years ago in front of all their peers, and

<v Speaker 1>so this was to get us all pumped up here

<v Speaker 1>for the big match, which was the main event of

<v Speaker 1>the show. And I'm watching this and I'm like, save

<v Speaker 1>us Ko and Punk, please, we need a hell of

<v Speaker 1>a main event to save this fucking train rad of

<v Speaker 1>a show. And it was Kevin Owens challenging Cmpunk for

<v Speaker 1>the WWE Championship. Owens was out first. He got the

<v Speaker 1>expected big reaction and he was all fired up and

<v Speaker 1>he was yelling, you know, get him out here, play

<v Speaker 1>stupid music, get him out here, let's let's get this

<v Speaker 1>thing started. Cmpunk comes out and he's wearing a hockey mask,

<v Speaker 1>looking like Jason vorhees he was the villain in Toronto tonight.

<v Speaker 1>They get in the ring and Owens goes right up

<v Speaker 1>to him and he pie phases him hard. And these

<v Speaker 1>guys are They're like going at at the referees in

<v Speaker 1>between them trying to keep him separated. This is even

<v Speaker 1>before Mark Nash did the n ring introductions, which he

<v Speaker 1>finally did, so the bell rings. We are finally underway

<v Speaker 1>for the first time ever one on one CM Punk

<v Speaker 1>and Kevin Owens. And before I go on, I just

<v Speaker 1>have to give you guys a big shout out hit

<v Speaker 1>the bonus, which means you're getting two rounds of be

<v Speaker 1>the booker exciting. We didn't get any on Wednesday because

<v Speaker 1>that's the typical dynamite, but here tonight we get two.

<v Speaker 1>So we'll get to that here in a little bit.

<v Speaker 1>But Kevin Owens, he finally got to do the one

<v Speaker 1>thing he has been waiting twenty one years to do,

<v Speaker 1>and he regrets that he didn't do backstage and Ring

<v Speaker 1>of honor. That time he got to punch the Unpunk

<v Speaker 1>in the face. He punched him over and over again.

<v Speaker 1>They wound up outside the ring. Owens he cleared off

<v Speaker 1>the announced desk until Punk took him down, and then

<v Speaker 1>Punk picked up the lid and he placed the lid

<v Speaker 1>back on top of the announced desk. He did it

<v Speaker 1>the wrong way, but it's the thought that counts. They

<v Speaker 1>went to a split screen commercial break. Punk got the

<v Speaker 1>heat on Owens. During the commercial, Owens made a comeback

<v Speaker 1>on him. He did a crotch chop and then hit

<v Speaker 1>him with a cannon ball in the corner and they

<v Speaker 1>ended up outside again with Punk laid out on top

<v Speaker 1>of the desk. Owens got up on the barricade. He

<v Speaker 1>did a splash off the barricade through the desk. Back inside,

<v Speaker 1>Owen's landed a swanton. He covered him, Punk kicked out.

<v Speaker 1>Owens went for a pop up power bomb. Punk avoided it.

<v Speaker 1>He got Owens down, He went to the top. He

<v Speaker 1>hit a crotch chop of his own. He came off

<v Speaker 1>with a diving elbow for a two count. Then he

<v Speaker 1>tried for the anacon device. Owens was able to fight

<v Speaker 1>out of it, so Punk picked Owens up. He was

<v Speaker 1>going to go for the go to sleep. Owens, though

<v Speaker 1>caught Punk's knee, caught his leg on the way down.

<v Speaker 1>He swept out the other leg and he got a

<v Speaker 1>sharpshooter applied in Canada. The cheap pop always always with

<v Speaker 1>the cheap sharp shooter pops here in Canada. But he

<v Speaker 1>got the move applied, and he did it the right way.

<v Speaker 1>He sat back on him, not one of these lay

<v Speaker 1>mass sharpshooters where they they kind of lock it on

<v Speaker 1>but they're standing up. It's like, come on, man, this

<v Speaker 1>looks like shit. Yeah, I'm looking at you. Rock even

<v Speaker 1>sting towards the end, but you know what, it's sting.

<v Speaker 1>Come on, man, Alex, I'll allow it because it's sting.

<v Speaker 1>And the guy was like sixty something years old, so

<v Speaker 1>he got him locked in the sharpshooter and Punk was

<v Speaker 1>able to get a rope break, so Owens he went

<v Speaker 1>for the stunner and Punk shoved him off into the referee,

<v Speaker 1>referee Dan Engler, so they bumped the referee. Dan Engler

<v Speaker 1>did not go down right away. He was kind of stunned.

<v Speaker 1>No pun intended, but he didn't go down right away,

<v Speaker 1>not until Punk went for the GTS again and Owens

<v Speaker 1>shoved him into Engler and that sent poor dan Engler

<v Speaker 1>flying through the ropes and out to the floor. So

<v Speaker 1>there's your ref bump. And then Owens hit Punk with

<v Speaker 1>the stunner because of course he did, and he hooked

<v Speaker 1>the leg and he got the visual pin, which is

<v Speaker 1>the only pin that he will ever get on CM.

<v Speaker 1>Punk and the crowd counted, you know, they counted up

<v Speaker 1>to like thirteen or fourteen, but it didn't matter because

<v Speaker 1>there was no referee. So Owens went looking for the

<v Speaker 1>ref he's looking down at him, he's yelling at him,

<v Speaker 1>and then he turned around. He turned into a GT

<v Speaker 1>from Punk. Punk got a visual pin of his own.

<v Speaker 1>Still no referee. Punk went outside to try to revive

<v Speaker 1>the ref and as he's doing this, sammy' z ain

<v Speaker 1>emerges from through the crowd from the timekeeper's area. Sammy's

<v Speaker 1>ain is here. He sneaks up behind CM Punk and

<v Speaker 1>he shoves him face first into the ring post and

<v Speaker 1>then he puts him back in the ring. Owens didn't

<v Speaker 1>see any of this. He gets up, he hits another

<v Speaker 1>stunner on Punk as Sammy puts the referee back into

<v Speaker 1>the ring to count the fall, and he counts and

<v Speaker 1>he counts, and before he could hit three, Punk kicks

<v Speaker 1>out at the last possible and I do mean last

<v Speaker 1>possible second. I actually kind of look like the referee

<v Speaker 1>may have held up the count for a brief second

<v Speaker 1>there before Punk out the shoulder up. So at that point,

<v Speaker 1>Samy's aying he tosses the WWE Championship into the ring

<v Speaker 1>for Kevin Owens to use. Owens grabs the belt and

<v Speaker 1>it looks like he's squaring up like he's gonna use

<v Speaker 1>it on Punk, but he thinks better of it. Sammy's

<v Speaker 1>on the apron now and Owens turns around and he's

<v Speaker 1>looking at Sammy and he goes, I'm not gonna do it.

<v Speaker 1>I'm not going to use it, you know, and he

<v Speaker 1>gives it back to him, but he kind of like

<v Speaker 1>jammed it into his chest right and at that point,

<v Speaker 1>Sammy takes the belt and he waffles Owen's upside the

<v Speaker 1>head with it, which I guess the referee didn't see.

<v Speaker 1>So now Owens is stunned and he goes backwards, stumbles

<v Speaker 1>right into a gts by Punk, who covers him and

<v Speaker 1>he gets the pin to retain the championship. Nineteen minutes

<v Speaker 1>into this match, after it's over, Punk is celebrating, big

<v Speaker 1>smile on his face. Sammy's ain't gets in the ring.

<v Speaker 1>He blasts Punk in the head with the WWE title.

<v Speaker 1>Owens eventually recovers, he kind of stumbles to his feet.

<v Speaker 1>He goes kind of to lunge towards Sammy. Sammy smashes

<v Speaker 1>him again in the head with the belt for good measure,

<v Speaker 1>and then he hits Punk again. Punk from his knees,

<v Speaker 1>He hits Punk in the head with the championship, kneels

<v Speaker 1>down over Punk's body. He's yelling at him. He said

<v Speaker 1>justice would be this belt being back with me, and

<v Speaker 1>the show ended with Samby's aim posing with the WWE Championship.

<v Speaker 1>That's how SmackDown went off the air. First of all,

<v Speaker 1>I thought the match itself was very good. I was

<v Speaker 1>looking forward to the match. I think they had a

<v Speaker 1>very good match. They gave them a lot of time.

<v Speaker 1>Again just sh I have twenty minutes. So I think

<v Speaker 1>the match delivered pretty much what one would have expected

<v Speaker 1>from a CM punk Kevin Owens match. Hot crowd that

<v Speaker 1>was into. We got a couple of really good near

<v Speaker 1>falls in there. Of course, we got the obligatory ref bump,

<v Speaker 1>but you had to know that was coming, and you

<v Speaker 1>had to know that we were going to get some

<v Speaker 1>sort of fuck finish here. I was hoping not. I

<v Speaker 1>was really hoping that we would get an Owens win,

<v Speaker 1>but I just the likelihood of that was very slim,

<v Speaker 1>especially after what happened at the end of the show

<v Speaker 1>last week. So I had already prepared myself for the

<v Speaker 1>inevitable fuckery here at the end of this match. It

<v Speaker 1>doesn't make it any less lame, but now it feels

<v Speaker 1>like we got a three way feud going with these

<v Speaker 1>three men, and maybe we'll end up with a triple

<v Speaker 1>threat match at some point soon. I don't know if

<v Speaker 1>it would be Sunday night's main event. I don't know

<v Speaker 1>if it would be money in the bank, because again

<v Speaker 1>Punk is not advertised for that show, but that was

<v Speaker 1>certainly the impression they left you with here at the

<v Speaker 1>end of this match. For Owens, it's in the double

<v Speaker 1>digits now. Now in terms of opportunities that he has

<v Speaker 1>had over the last decade to win the WWE Championship,

<v Speaker 1>he has fallen short and failed every single time, whether

<v Speaker 1>it was Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, now Cmpunk, it doesn't matter.

<v Speaker 1>Opportunity after opportunity, and he has lost, and it just

<v Speaker 1>gets to a point where you start to ask yourself

<v Speaker 1>of Okay, you kind of see the writing on the wall.

<v Speaker 1>Maybe this just isn't gonna happen. Maybe we should all

<v Speaker 1>stop like falling for this that you know that moment

<v Speaker 1>is coming. But then I think about Sammy's Ain getting

<v Speaker 1>that moment in Saudi back in June, and you can

<v Speaker 1>never say never in wrestling. I could sit here right

<v Speaker 1>now and say, Okay, after this, it's never gonna happen.

<v Speaker 1>It would have been a nice moment in Toronto. It

<v Speaker 1>didn't happen. It's probably not going to I can't say

<v Speaker 1>that for sure. Maybe at some point in the distant

<v Speaker 1>future it'll happen. I hope Kevin Owens can have a

<v Speaker 1>fruitful career after the neck injury and can go another

<v Speaker 1>fucking five to ten years. But however long his career

<v Speaker 1>is going to be, you can never be one hundred

<v Speaker 1>percent sure. But it's very deflating to see him get

<v Speaker 1>chance after chance after chance. Uh, and then they just

<v Speaker 1>don't go with it. So for the time being, it

<v Speaker 1>looks like that that is basically gone. That ship has sailed,

<v Speaker 1>and now you know another Kevin Owens and Sammy's Ain feud.

<v Speaker 1>It's like, Okay, I guess we can go back to

<v Speaker 1>that again, I suppose. But as much as I've loved

<v Speaker 1>the matches they've had in the past, and they had

<v Speaker 1>that great one last year an elimination chamber in Toronto,

<v Speaker 1>you know, it just you get to a point where

<v Speaker 1>you want to see other things. You want to see

<v Speaker 1>them work with other people, or if they're going to

<v Speaker 1>work together but not necessarily against each other, you want

<v Speaker 1>to see something different. I can't say that that excites

<v Speaker 1>me a lot. A three way though, with the three

<v Speaker 1>of them in the ring fighting for the belt, that

<v Speaker 1>could be fun. You know, we can get a good

<v Speaker 1>match out of that, it's just a matter of when.

<v Speaker 1>But I will, I will hold onto this match because

<v Speaker 1>this was the only redeeming part of this entire show tonight.

<v Speaker 1>I thought SmackDown was largely a bore. It was a

<v Speaker 1>very uninspired show. Hot crowd in Toronto, shout out to

<v Speaker 1>them and Steve and everybody else who was there in

<v Speaker 1>the building tonight, and there were a lot of people

<v Speaker 1>in that building. But to think that you had up

<v Speaker 1>to eighteen thousand people in that building and this is

<v Speaker 1>the kind of show that they got, It's sad. This

<v Speaker 1>was not a good show. You know, all the little

<v Speaker 1>short segments, nothing segments, promo segments that really weren't all

<v Speaker 1>that great. Matches that really weren't all that great save

<v Speaker 1>for the main event. Now. I did mention the tag

<v Speaker 1>team title, Matt. I thought that was solid. That was

<v Speaker 1>not a great match. That was fine, That was not bad.

<v Speaker 1>But my god, in terms of this being a one

<v Speaker 1>match show, I said it at the beginning, it was

<v Speaker 1>a one segment show. It's a lot of work left

<v Speaker 1>to be done here. They're going to turn that ship

<v Speaker 1>around when it comes to Friday Nights and the women's division.

<v Speaker 1>They have a lot of women on the roster on

<v Speaker 1>this show. I know Rhea Ripley is out and Chelsea

<v Speaker 1>Green can't wrestle for another twenty three days, but it

<v Speaker 1>just feels like it's in shambles right now, Like what

<v Speaker 1>is going on at this moment? What is going on

<v Speaker 1>in the women's division? A lot of work to do.

<v Speaker 1>Get into your questions here, see what you thought of SmackDown,

<v Speaker 1>And then we got a couple of rounds that we

<v Speaker 1>got to get to later on for be the booker.

<v Speaker 1>Canadian fans show up for WWE shows, they do they

<v Speaker 1>deserve better? How about it? They deserve better. It won't

<v Speaker 1>be fixed overnight. Well I never thought it would be
