[SPEAKER_11]: Trying another guy that I wanted to talk to on the show, and my algorithm, my weird, weird, dark, dismal, just oddball algorithm for stuff that comes my way when I'm doing what everybody does.

[SPEAKER_11]: I believe it's eliminating reading from our world, I think there are people that are still worldly and knowledgeable, that probably tear through literature and books, but they're not enough of us anymore because we're all doing that five-second scrolling.

[SPEAKER_11]: And in my case today, I think the guy's name

[SPEAKER_11]: might be Andrew or maybe Arnold.

[SPEAKER_11]: I'm not sure he is a South African gentleman that goes from house to house and he finds poisonous snakes in South Africa.

[SPEAKER_11]: Specifically, Blick, Blick, Mumbai.

[SPEAKER_11]: Is this a business or a hobby?

[SPEAKER_11]: I believe it's a business where he gets paid to go out and rid people of these deadly venomous snakes but they sound so strangely like the plot of a three-stirge is short.

[SPEAKER_11]: No, he's at an office and he gets a call, but oh my god, the way he does it, the way he handles it.

[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, they are at least in the top five of the most venomous

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, he goes around and finds these snakes and sometimes in the most precarious situations.

[SPEAKER_11]: And once he gets done, he takes him out and everybody's going, and then he had last night.

[SPEAKER_11]: He went out like to a junkyard where they saw this black mamba, sending itself every single day.

[SPEAKER_11]: And he brought, he's got fans online from Germany that come on a vacation to South Africa.

[SPEAKER_08]: kind of interesting the Germans going to South Africa, isn't it?

[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, I mean, it's an international world we live in, Mike.

[SPEAKER_11]: I understand.

[SPEAKER_11]: And then so this couple comes down to and they want to go on a call with him and they go out on a call.

[SPEAKER_11]: And he's gotten snakes out of these, these crawl spaces, who has his post, are they continuing or did they just happen to stop recently suddenly?

[SPEAKER_09]: I'm just curious.

[SPEAKER_09]: No, I'm just curious.

[SPEAKER_11]: No, I think I think you're going to see this guy around for a long time, but he is.

[SPEAKER_11]: fearless and based on that they're two guys that float around.

[SPEAKER_11]: There's a venom guy that that works in a very controlled environment and he's very careful while at the same time he is dealing with these massive size black bombers and then there's this guy that goes out and gets it in the light.

[SPEAKER_11]: This guy and I will show you remember this name but I don't so sorry about that.

[SPEAKER_11]: I

[SPEAKER_09]: Do you think that to be an effective Black Mamba fighter, this exterminator, you have to have some stupidity?

[SPEAKER_11]: He's not an exterminator up.

[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_09]: For Black Mamba removal.

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_11]: I believe his name is Jason Arnold.

[SPEAKER_11]: And but then immediately takes his hand right down to the head of the snake.

[SPEAKER_11]: You know, that's the business end.

[SPEAKER_11]: Sure.

[SPEAKER_11]: And, uh, and really how he does this is stunning to me.

[SPEAKER_11]: And, uh, and he's, you know, he's kind, I don't want to say that he's awkward

[SPEAKER_11]: But he definitely flirts with disaster because sometimes he's in a very awkward, uh, and you said it's Jason Arnold.

[SPEAKER_11]: Jason, the name of the guy.

[SPEAKER_11]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_11]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_11]: I want to see if we can talk to him because he obviously would be a hell of a time difference.

[SPEAKER_11]: But warning, he is a trained professional.

[SPEAKER_11]: So do not do this at all.

[SPEAKER_09]: How do you get trained for grabbing a snake?

[SPEAKER_11]: Because you work with people that remove snakes from South African homes, right?

[SPEAKER_11]: I think that it's a dwindling business problem.

[SPEAKER_08]: No, no, no, no, it's common in other parts of the world.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm just intrigued he took fans with him.

[SPEAKER_02]: How's it, everyone?

[SPEAKER_11]: He's digging around where there is a deadly venomous snake.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I can just grab all of these piles.

[SPEAKER_09]: It sounds to me like he's actually clearing a path to the sort of guess where the snake will escape.

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I think so.

[SPEAKER_11]: I think so now he's going through this for just being a scam.

[SPEAKER_09]: It's someone to clean up your yard.

[SPEAKER_11]: No, I think he's been asked by the workers at the backyard to, uh, I think you're right.

[SPEAKER_11]: At least he's got a spotter.

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_11]: That's not a spotter.

[SPEAKER_11]: That's the tourist that came to watch him.

[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_11]: Now he's got some big tarp that he's lifting up.

[SPEAKER_09]: I was gonna say I bet those Germans had to sign a release form.

[SPEAKER_09]: It's just that algorithm.

[SPEAKER_09]: But I'm curious.

[SPEAKER_09]: When you saw that, how fast did you go to his other videos and how long did you stay with him?

[SPEAKER_11]: No, I've been watching.

[SPEAKER_11]: He's popped on my, I love, you know, you snakes are my thing.

[SPEAKER_11]: I fed Jake this weekend.

[SPEAKER_11]: I like snakes.

[SPEAKER_11]: So, uh, I'm checking yet.

[SPEAKER_09]: I know he's getting bigger.

[SPEAKER_11]: No, but this was.

[SPEAKER_11]: As far as a medium rat, this was the fastest dispatching of a rodent that I have seen Jacob accomplish.

[SPEAKER_11]: He was hungry.

[SPEAKER_11]: And I mean, it was bad.

[SPEAKER_09]: We've had a lot of great years together, Mike, when I still have not forgiven you for having me feed your rat.

[SPEAKER_09]: I was fun wasn't it?

[SPEAKER_11]: No, it was traumatizing and evil and it was just look all I'm trying to do and all I've tried to do Most of our relationship is tough in you up and and you know, I didn't mean to traumatize you I really really didn't it was it's the circle of life as I explained to your rabbit

[SPEAKER_09]: That's the circle of life, the great circle of life, and just a few minutes after that poor little mouse at that point scratching inside of the cardboard box with the air holes in the car and using don't let him out.

[SPEAKER_09]: I don't want a mouse in my car and I'm exactly.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yes, and you're like, come here, put that box, just put the mouse into the aquarium.

[SPEAKER_09]: Because it was, oh, it was just horrible.

[SPEAKER_09]: No one needs that.

[SPEAKER_09]: Have you just, no circle of life?

[SPEAKER_08]: Have you thought about letting Jake loose and making your own snake hunting video?

[SPEAKER_08]: Uh, sure.

[SPEAKER_08]: Why not?

[SPEAKER_11]: I'll get right on that.

[SPEAKER_09]: Well, he didn't get him a black momma mask, so he looks like.

[SPEAKER_11]: I'll do that right away.

[SPEAKER_09]: This particular snake is dangerous that it might pee on you.

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, yeah, my nose, what I like.

[SPEAKER_11]: I was I took a very long flight to from Copenhagen to Greenland in the middle of the winter.

[SPEAKER_11]: Well, I think it was winter.

[SPEAKER_11]: It's nice all the time out there, but fascinating little flight that you know where you're going to the Arctic Circle is saying.

[SPEAKER_11]: Right.

[SPEAKER_11]: Very, very cool.

[SPEAKER_11]: Very, very neat.

[SPEAKER_09]: And was it a jet or a smaller plane?

[SPEAKER_11]: It was a big, big ass jet.

[SPEAKER_11]: It was a, I think, a three by two by three.

[SPEAKER_11]: So it was not a small plane, not a small plane at all.

[SPEAKER_11]: And really, just interesting flying into that part of the world.

[SPEAKER_09]: I actually thought of you yesterday because of your flying phobia.

[SPEAKER_09]: And I think you've gotten better about being a phobia.

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_09]: But when we started together, you were, we were both not great at it.

[SPEAKER_09]: And last night on Turner Classic movies, they ran, or I had captured the movie, The High and the Mighty.

[SPEAKER_09]: which is like the first all-star airplane disaster film was called the high I've never heard of it.

[SPEAKER_09]: It was out of print for millions of years because John Wayne's estate wouldn't release it but the plot is John Wayne is older and he's a copilot and no one can understand why he's not a pilot and it's revealed through a series of flashbacks that he was a pilot but was involved in a plane crash not his fault that killed his daughter and his wife or his son and his wife.

[SPEAKER_09]: So he's got mental issues and they've got the ultimate drop plane that's what it is Mike, but they're flying from Hawaii to San Francisco.

[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_09]: Four drop plane because it's like 1954.

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, my mom and dad went on their honeymoon to Bermuda on a prop plane.

[SPEAKER_11]: And I was an old stop.

[SPEAKER_09]: Now, by the way, that's not that far off the coast, but it was kind of cool that they flew on that kind of silver American Airlines prop plane, which this is you would like this movie because I think it's pretty accurate with the interior of the plane and you know there's a lot everybody has a story and this is the movie that be got zero hour, which be got airplane and airport and airport 77 and all that stuff, but all the elements are in place.

[SPEAKER_11]: I am old enough to have seen uh... airport the original the dean martin one the dean martin one nineteen seventy five great i would be what birthday was it you do the math those fifteen fifty nine sit was sixteen

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, if you're 75, 1975 did you say?

[SPEAKER_11]: Maybe it was earlier.

[SPEAKER_11]: I'd have to find out when the original airport was probably early because I seem to remember I was younger.

[SPEAKER_11]: Maybe 14 or 15.

[SPEAKER_11]: I'm not sure, but all I know is Paul Richards, who was in 1970.

[SPEAKER_09]: That's the U.S. Or 11.

[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, so 11 would be much more.

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, that's what I remember and when Dean Martin is running down the aisle of the plane after he successfully lands the plane in the disaster movie Paul Richards who had just a little bit of a speech impediment said, I want here.

[SPEAKER_11]: Well,

[SPEAKER_11]: which was as funny.

[SPEAKER_11]: I've been listening to your family for years because I mean he's 11 and he's dropping that line and kids do that by the way, for those of you that are childless out there, I have to say that's what kids do.

[SPEAKER_11]: They'll lay one of those on you, and then come, and especially the younger they are, the more exciting it is when they will say something crazy, because it's just they fire it right out there.

[SPEAKER_11]: Now, I want to transition here because, um,

[SPEAKER_11]: My son, this, this was no pushing whatsoever.

[SPEAKER_11]: I really have to reiterate that.

[SPEAKER_09]: If I push, he fell off the cliff as on his own.

[SPEAKER_11]: Sports are what I probably would be a stage dad.

[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, but I don't even push with that.

[SPEAKER_11]: It's like what he likes to do and I like the fact that he's into it.

[SPEAKER_11]: And that's cool.

[SPEAKER_11]: I like that he plays golf, but I'm not pushing him.

[SPEAKER_11]: I think he's gonna be on his golf team, but that's how much I push.

[SPEAKER_09]: We can find out, he tried out like over a week ago.

[SPEAKER_11]: No, they got rained out.

[SPEAKER_11]: The triodes got rained out.

[SPEAKER_11]: So I'm not sure what the.

[SPEAKER_11]: I'm not true.

[SPEAKER_11]: What the deal is.

[SPEAKER_11]: So he is taking a course called Cougar vision, which is their mascot.

[SPEAKER_11]: And it is a their mascot is the Cougar is the Cougar.

[SPEAKER_09]: It's an older woman.

[SPEAKER_11]: It's a woman who's about 50.

[SPEAKER_09]: And she likes the students.

[SPEAKER_09]: I know that.

[SPEAKER_11]: So she likes the seniors.

[SPEAKER_08]: I love them.

[SPEAKER_08]: As you come up to the office.

[SPEAKER_08]: Florida schools have two mascots.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's either something from the water or a cat or a cat.

[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_11]: All of them.

[SPEAKER_11]: And you know, a lot of the schools have a TV production class.

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_11]: And he's been in this.

[SPEAKER_11]: I think he's in this second year.

[SPEAKER_11]: And they tapped him.

[SPEAKER_11]: at as a seventh grader to be the play by play broadcasts are from varsity football.

[SPEAKER_11]: And so Friday night I turned on the the internet broadcast and watched my son do play by play.

[SPEAKER_11]: for the very first time of a football game.

[SPEAKER_11]: He's done a lacrosse game.

[SPEAKER_11]: I don't know anything about lacrosse, but I was just blown away that he did such a good job.

[SPEAKER_11]: I don't know why you were.

[SPEAKER_09]: But lacrosse is a harder sport to call, I would imagine, because I've done some PA for lacrosse.

[SPEAKER_09]: And it's constant action.

[SPEAKER_09]: I mean, there's no like stop now.

[SPEAKER_09]: If you have a decent spotter, football is almost mathematical.

[SPEAKER_11]: thing has a spotter and then it's tough.

[SPEAKER_11]: Well, he would, they were doing a lot of Brock's got the ball, Brock, and I'm like, you got to give the full names.

[SPEAKER_11]: Right.

[SPEAKER_11]: You got to memorize the players, especially, you know, you can do it in order of the the guys that get most of the touches.

[SPEAKER_11]: Right.

[SPEAKER_11]: You know, at first, but at a certain point, you want to identify the names, and they were, it was Michael, his buddy Evan, who's also a seventh grader, and then the young lady, oh, I wish I remember her name.

[SPEAKER_11]: She's a senior.

[SPEAKER_11]: She's been a senior in high school.

[SPEAKER_11]: So the good thing about my kids.

[SPEAKER_09]: She's going for you.

[SPEAKER_09]: They go to What is he studying?

[SPEAKER_11]: I mean she really should be in the secretarial pool by the time she's a senior They go through they go through all the that's raw send the letters to Rob's be way hi ladies good morning

[SPEAKER_11]: B.C.

[SPEAKER_11]: Travis says this is completely a non-secretive here.

[SPEAKER_11]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_11]: I heard a story from a woman who cleaned hotel rooms in Vegas and she cleaned Dean Martin's room.

[SPEAKER_11]: She said there were only Tuxedo's pajamas and pills.

[SPEAKER_09]: That's nice.

[SPEAKER_11]: Thanks for sharing.

[SPEAKER_11]: not relevant to this discussion, but it's interesting.

[SPEAKER_09]: The best Dean Martin moment in Airport is at the end when he realizes he's going to stay with the woman he knocked up.

[SPEAKER_09]: And he says, let's go on back into my place and get some eggs.

[SPEAKER_11]: And by the way, Reese says, is it me or does it look like Mike has new teeth?

[SPEAKER_11]: That's what I was at the dentist last week.

[SPEAKER_11]: I got new bonding right here.

[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, nice.

[SPEAKER_11]: That's my new bonding on these two.

[SPEAKER_11]: Nice and tight.

[SPEAKER_11]: A little more even and a little brighter.

[SPEAKER_11]: There you go.

[SPEAKER_11]: I feel like I'm...

[SPEAKER_11]: Anyway, the thing about the broadcast was I couldn't believe that he was the one that was doing what I wanted to happen, which is when you're watching any kind of broadcast, you want to have the

[SPEAKER_11]: You want to have the names, the time that's left, because they do a one shot of the field, and the one shot of the field is just completely, they don't show you the running time, they don't show replays, and they don't show the scoreboard.

[SPEAKER_09]: Does he know Sam Hofstrick?

[SPEAKER_09]: What's that?

[SPEAKER_09]: okay now this is this is actually very very smart Sam in the Redskins travel kit there was an egg timer and on the egg timer was a piece of tape that said Sam because it was Sam's egg timer was a two-minute timer and one of Sam's jobs in the booth Sam Huff who was a all-of-famer and did play by play for the Redskins back then he would turn the egg timer and when it ran out he would give how much time was left in the score.

[SPEAKER_09]: That way they'd never go more than two minutes without doing that reset for the people listening.

[SPEAKER_11]: Really?

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_11]: That's great.

[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, that's the way it should be.

[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, when you're especially when you're doing radio, you want to make sure that people know exactly what's going on.

[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, that's the bottom line.

[SPEAKER_11]: So I mean, when you do that.

[SPEAKER_09]: But oh, you're like an hourglass.

[SPEAKER_09]: You want something that's two minutes.

[SPEAKER_11]: you want to two minutes, you do not want to do it the other way.

[SPEAKER_09]: But I was proud of him.

[SPEAKER_09]: It shouldn't be that so.

[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_11]: Am I, am I, do I want him to get into this business?

[SPEAKER_11]: Not in any way, shape or form?

[SPEAKER_11]: I don't like the business of show.

[SPEAKER_11]: And that's kind of a version of it.

[SPEAKER_11]: But I mean, it's certainly an honorable profession to be.

[SPEAKER_11]: Football has a good purchase.

[SPEAKER_09]: It hasn't been purchased by I Heart Radio yet.

[SPEAKER_09]: It's still a business.

[SPEAKER_09]: No, there's still plenty of money in it.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's exactly right.

[SPEAKER_08]: Did you, uh, do you have some post game notes for him?

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I did.

[SPEAKER_11]: I did, uh, the notes were full names, the notes were constant, uh, uh, re, uh, re mentioning of the amount of time that's left in the game because we can't see the, uh, running time.

[SPEAKER_11]: Now the tea, I don't do, you know, I don't teach the course.

[SPEAKER_11]: I wish.

[SPEAKER_11]: Obviously that there were it was a closer telecast to a real broadcast, but they've got one camera that goes back and forth.

[SPEAKER_09]: Is it still being taught by Jim Nance?

[SPEAKER_11]: No, I forgot the name of the guys.

[SPEAKER_11]: Cool guys.

[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, that's good.

[SPEAKER_11]: It does this.

[SPEAKER_11]: But at one point, one of the players on Michael's home team got injured, and they were talking about it.

[SPEAKER_11]: And doing a pretty good job of the analysis, and the camera paned over, said, oh, we're going to see the kids see how he's doing if he's recovering, and they showed a picture of the cheerleaders.

[SPEAKER_11]: which was, uh, rating what I want to see.

[SPEAKER_09]: I mean, you're driving, you don't.

[SPEAKER_09]: And also, there's a beauty that,

[SPEAKER_09]: when you're dropping someone off in your headed somewhere, you're going to do it in his timely fashion as possible, but it's not my deadline.

[SPEAKER_09]: You know, I don't have to stare at the clock and say, oh my God, it's two minutes after five.

[SPEAKER_09]: I'm doing the best I can and I don't have any penalty.

[SPEAKER_09]: So it's really low stress as far as doing it.

[SPEAKER_09]: And Josh, do you have anything that you drive or your driver is two miles away.

[SPEAKER_11]: He will be there in one hour and thirty seven.

[SPEAKER_09]: And he will be bringing brownies.

[SPEAKER_08]: It is.

[SPEAKER_08]: No, the good part, you make your own schedule.

[SPEAKER_08]: So you just go out whenever you want.

[SPEAKER_11]: But just remember, if you want to get more fairs in you want to get a place where people are going to use Uber, you might want to try an airport.

[SPEAKER_09]: That's what I got for another good place is you could just go and park in Mike's asshole.

[SPEAKER_08]: And it tells you on the way to go pick up the person like what their Uber score is instead.

[SPEAKER_11]: I don't think Uber drivers get there's no cash involved.

[SPEAKER_09]: No, you would just have to make your writers so mad that he stabbed you.

[SPEAKER_11]: I think there isn't there can't be much because are there any rules about pack and heat like if you have a concealed carry permit I'm sure I could probably bring an AK 47 into the car with me.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, but it doesn't have to be glove box You need something smaller like one like my little gun that's also a lighter

[SPEAKER_09]: something tiny one Florida's just got to fit in the gun rack.

[SPEAKER_09]: That's right up front.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I did not encounter anyone that gave me even pause yesterday.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and by shady, I just mean they have their headphones on before they get in the car.

[SPEAKER_11]: Doug says airport to start is good if it's not busy.

[SPEAKER_11]: Best way to get airport rides is to drop off at the airport first.

[SPEAKER_09]: When I got back home, I mean other than an insane urge to pee, I felt great.

[SPEAKER_11]: I think that, you know, at the, you both have said it, it ends up being roughly on a good night, what 25 bucks a year.

[SPEAKER_11]: 25 to 30.

[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_11]: 25 to 30 bucks an hour, which is better than like working in a warehouse or something like that.

[SPEAKER_11]: So that's, that's pretty cool.

[SPEAKER_11]: You get cut up to the top of the line to get an airport ride out of the ride if you drop someone off there.

[SPEAKER_11]: If you sit at the airport waiting, you're at the bottom.
