<v Speaker 1>The Western Slope's great. I miss it so much every

<v Speaker 1>time I go back. I'm just like thrown into nostalgia.

<v Speaker 1>I love it over there, and I especially love it

<v Speaker 1>when it's peach season. Right. The Peach Fest was this

<v Speaker 1>past weekend, and it really was a lot of fun. Like, uh,

<v Speaker 1>they take over like Palisade is where it's at if

<v Speaker 1>you're not familiar, the famous Palisade Peach that's where it's

<v Speaker 1>come comes from. But they're big parks there. They turn

<v Speaker 1>it into a big like farmer's market on steroids. Like

<v Speaker 1>they have everything you can imagine, everything, truck everything, peach.

<v Speaker 1>They're selling clothing that's peach themed. They've got like animals

<v Speaker 1>out there who are dressed as peaches.

<v Speaker 2>I saw you dress as Princess Peach.

<v Speaker 1>No, but there is a Peach princess not to be

<v Speaker 1>confused with the video game character, and a Peach queen.

<v Speaker 1>So there's a lot of Peach themed stuff. Going on.

<v Speaker 1>I saw a peach eating contest, which is kind of gross.

<v Speaker 1>Oh my gosh, and one guy ate six peaches in

<v Speaker 1>a minute. If you could imagine what that looks like.

<v Speaker 2>Difficult.

<v Speaker 1>I feel like he ate a pit somewhere going down.

<v Speaker 1>How did you eat all that so quick?

<v Speaker 3>Some old guys out there, He's like, you know, and

<v Speaker 3>you shwallow a peach pit, You're gonna grow a peach tree.

<v Speaker 1>Exactly exactly. But one of the funny so this year

<v Speaker 1>for peaches, I mean, if you can think back, like,

<v Speaker 1>our winter was a little out of the ordinary, right,

<v Speaker 1>we didn't necessarily get the typical Colorado snow filled winter

<v Speaker 1>that we normally get, and that really affected the produce

<v Speaker 1>over there on the Western Slope. So part of it

<v Speaker 1>was that they had so many hot days. I mean

<v Speaker 1>I was talking to one of the peach farmers and

<v Speaker 1>he said they had a string of like twenty straight

<v Speaker 1>days of over one hundred and that is not good

<v Speaker 1>for the produce over there. So from what I understand,

<v Speaker 1>it was a bad year for the produce over on

<v Speaker 1>the Western Slope, and there were a lot of people

<v Speaker 1>who weren't able to, you know, provide the peaches that

<v Speaker 1>you expect, yeah, to.

<v Speaker 2>Get your peach of five.

<v Speaker 1>I mean, because when you think about the peaches, it's

<v Speaker 1>the big, fat peaches and when you take them there iconic,

<v Speaker 1>they're so juicy that it drips down your arm. This

<v Speaker 1>is how people describe Palisade peaches.

<v Speaker 2>It's true.

<v Speaker 3>Yeah, No, it has to have the Palisade marketing lady

<v Speaker 3>come into the radio station each and every year with

<v Speaker 3>a bushel. Ye, she'd bring us a bushel and we'd

<v Speaker 3>have some on the air, and it was our engineer

<v Speaker 3>hated it because we'd have peach juice all over the equipment.

<v Speaker 2>Here, sure, what you doing peaches in the studio?

<v Speaker 1>Well, and I had friends who had never been to

<v Speaker 1>the peach festival, and so they were looking forward to it.

<v Speaker 1>But we got there and one of my friends had

<v Speaker 1>a peach and it was not good. It was hard.

<v Speaker 1>It was not the typical Palisade peach that you would expect.

<v Speaker 1>And we were talking to people who said because of

<v Speaker 1>the weird weather, because it got so hot, the peach

<v Speaker 1>trees blossomed like two to three weeks early, and then

<v Speaker 1>we had a crazy freeze, so it wiped out a

<v Speaker 1>good chunk of a lot of the produce, but.

<v Speaker 2>The stuff you don't want too well, and the stuff.

<v Speaker 1>That wasn't wiped out, it was so small. So that's

<v Speaker 1>the thing. If you get Palisade peaches this year, you'll

<v Speaker 1>notice number one, they are way smaller than they typically are,

<v Speaker 1>and that is because they weren't able to you know,

<v Speaker 1>the weather parabort.

<v Speaker 2>Full maturity.

<v Speaker 1>They didn't reach that big, big stage. But what it

<v Speaker 1>did is like, so it's because it's small. The sugars

<v Speaker 1>are concentrated for some of them. So if you found

<v Speaker 1>someone who is able to keep their peaches in order,

<v Speaker 1>you were able to get the small peaches. But they

<v Speaker 1>were full of sugar, so they were super super sweet.

<v Speaker 1>If you were able to find something now good enough

<v Speaker 1>for me, I know a peach guy, Like I lived

<v Speaker 1>on a peach orchard. You guys know this. So I

<v Speaker 1>went out to my peach guy. I got some really

<v Speaker 1>good peach you know, produce, got some good peach options.

<v Speaker 3>Somebody to take a shot. Every time you hear the

<v Speaker 3>word peach during this conversation.

<v Speaker 2>Shot peach.

<v Speaker 1>It was peachest.

<v Speaker 2>Okay, that's awesome.

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, well I didn't okay, So I was sitting at

<v Speaker 1>the chef demos out there at the peach fest that

<v Speaker 1>they were talking about. You know, people brag about that,

<v Speaker 1>like all the time I lived over there, And that's

<v Speaker 1>one of the things you can brag about the food

<v Speaker 1>because it is superior to the food over here on

<v Speaker 1>the Western Slope, and it just is. I'm sorry to

<v Speaker 1>tell you this, but the peaches are better over there

<v Speaker 1>because because it gets so hot during the day and

<v Speaker 1>so cool at night, it stresses the produce. It's not

<v Speaker 1>only that, but it stresses them out, which makes them

<v Speaker 1>work harder, which makes them create more nutrients.

<v Speaker 4>Which makes it a better peach. It's a stressed it's

<v Speaker 4>science better.

<v Speaker 2>And this sounds like this.

<v Speaker 1>So the grass also super stressed, right, Grass even needs

<v Speaker 1>to stress out to grow, so it has extreme nutrient

<v Speaker 1>volume in it as well. So then when you have

<v Speaker 1>the cows and the pigs and all the animals that

<v Speaker 1>eat the grass, it has the more nutrients. Then their

<v Speaker 1>meat is super tasty too. So now we got tasty cows,

<v Speaker 1>we got tasty picks. It sounds like you're on grass,

<v Speaker 2>I've been saying it all morning. Don't shook him. Now

<v Speaker 2>where the cattle was. The cattle smaller this year too.

<v Speaker 1>That's all right, chrisking of the peach cobbler. I got

<v Speaker 1>it from the Marching Band, and I just felt bad

<v Speaker 1>because I wanted to help send them to State.

<v Speaker 3>I don't know about that beach poisoning. We were talking

<v Speaker 3>about you last week because this is the event where

<v Speaker 3>you were going to go stay at the Airbnb. It

<v Speaker 3>was two couples and then Katie truly like the fifth Wheel,

<v Speaker 3>I know, and they were we were talking about like

<v Speaker 3>how you were going to pay and all that. How

<v Speaker 3>did it play out?

<v Speaker 1>It was we split it between the five of us,

<v Speaker 1>so that was nice.

<v Speaker 2>They hear the show.

<v Speaker 1>I didn't. I think one of them might have actually

<v Speaker 1>good and so yeah, that was kind of brought to

<v Speaker 1>my attention that they were going to do that. So

<v Speaker 1>I kind of figured that maybe somebody did hear it.

<v Speaker 1>That's fantasic, kind of a big deal about but you know, again,

<v Speaker 1>save you some cash. It did save me some cash.

<v Speaker 2>How did the gas work?

<v Speaker 1>The gas was fine. I rode over with them, so

<v Speaker 1>we were, you know, tag team in that as well

<v Speaker 1>as far as who would pay for what because gas

<v Speaker 1>be expensive right now, and even driving like we were

<v Speaker 1>helping driving, I was driving a lot. Well, we were

<v Speaker 1>in town since I was familiar with everything and knew

<v Speaker 1>where to go. So yeah, I think everything worked out

<v Speaker 1>pretty well. But I was anticipating it because two of

<v Speaker 1>the people who were showing up I'd never met. So

<v Speaker 1>Julia and Matt what up, my new homies. I'd never

<v Speaker 1>met them, so coming in that was gonna be something

<v Speaker 1>I was anticipating. But my friend Amy was telling me

<v Speaker 1>that Julia specifically, now you know, she's Matt and Brendan

<v Speaker 1>were the two guys who were there, and so they

<v Speaker 1>were kind of hanging out. But Julia, I was told specifically,

<v Speaker 1>is like one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

<v Speaker 1>So I was really excited to meet Julia because from

<v Speaker 1>what I understood, she was like a ray of sunshine. Right,

<v Speaker 1>And so Julia and Matt show up, and they couldn't

<v Speaker 1>have had a better description for Julia. I mean, she

<v Speaker 1>was just such a nice person, easy to get along to,

<v Speaker 1>super funny, very very likable. And her fiance Matt, also

<v Speaker 1>the same. Right. So we did all this fun stuff.

<v Speaker 1>We went to Peachfest, we went to all the restaurants together.

<v Speaker 1>We just had the best time. And they're a little

<v Speaker 1>younger than me, so I was trying to not really

<v Speaker 1>impress them, but I was just trying to hang right,

<v Speaker 1>be one of the crew, and I really thought I

<v Speaker 1>was doing it. I was like, oh my gosh, I'm

<v Speaker 1>making friends. This is great, We're having a great time.

<v Speaker 1>And then the last day, okay, the last day, we're

<v Speaker 1>all packing everything up and Julia comes into my bedroom

<v Speaker 1>and she was just like, this is so much fun.

<v Speaker 1>This was really just like a really good vacation. I'm

<v Speaker 1>glad that we all got to hang out.

<v Speaker 2>And da da da da da.

<v Speaker 1>She's like, hey, did you happen to see may my

<v Speaker 1>pink toothbrush. I was just like, no, I don't know

<v Speaker 1>what you mean, and she's like, yeah, I had a pink,

<v Speaker 1>pink toothbrush. I left it in the bathroom and she's like,

<v Speaker 1>I went for it last night and I couldn't find it.

<v Speaker 1>And I was just wondering if maybe somebody knocked it

<v Speaker 1>off the counter one and I was just like, huh,

<v Speaker 1>I haven't seen. But it's funny. I also have a

<v Speaker 1>pink toothbrush, because you know, you.

<v Speaker 4>Don't have your regular toothbrush, you have the travel toothbrush,

<v Speaker 4>so I'm not familiar with even I'm not used to

<v Speaker 4>my toothbrush, right. So I was doing so good, and

<v Speaker 4>then I found out that the last night I went

<v Speaker 4>to bed before everybody because I go, I wake up

<v Speaker 4>early and I'm just in the cycle, right, So I

<v Speaker 4>say good night to everybody Saturday night, and I must

<v Speaker 4>have just grabbed her toothbrush off the counter toothbrushes somebody

<v Speaker 4>I just met.

<v Speaker 1>I used her toothbrush, and I mean I went because

<v Speaker 1>I ate a lot of peaches. Really brush my teeth

<v Speaker 1>is basically kids.

<v Speaker 2>Kids.

<v Speaker 1>I ate a lot of peach based stuff. The funniest

<v Speaker 1>part was trying to because I was like completely convinced

<v Speaker 1>I had not stolen. This disgusted and so then I

<v Speaker 1>had to like really collect my stuff, like collect myself,

<v Speaker 1>and I was like, Julia, I'm so sorry. I don't

<v Speaker 1>know if I took your toothbrush. All I know is

<v Speaker 1>I also have a pink toothbrush. So then I I

<v Speaker 1>tugged through my stuff.

<v Speaker 2>I was gonna say where was Yours was.

<v Speaker 1>In the very bottom of my makeup bag, in a

<v Speaker 1>bag underneath everything. So I didn't I didn't see. I

<v Speaker 1>did not notice that I had used somebody else's toothbrush.

<v Speaker 3>I can't a bottle of CoA.

<v Speaker 1>So not only did I use it that night, I

<v Speaker 1>woke up the next morning.

<v Speaker 2>And brush my teeth again.

<v Speaker 4>So twice I used her too, And then once I figured.

<v Speaker 1>It out, I gave it back, like she's gonna use

<v Speaker 1>that tooths? Right?

<v Speaker 2>Did she take it?

<v Speaker 1>She did, but I think she just did it to

<v Speaker 1>We all had a really laugh about it. But I mean,

<v Speaker 1>you know, she went home and told her fiance.

<v Speaker 1>All right, and so yeah, it was. It was fun

<v Speaker 1>to hug her goodbye and say I'm sorry I used

<v Speaker 1>But I was happy for them, you know what I mean,

<v Speaker 1>this show. It was supposed to start at seven o'clock

<v Speaker 1>at Ball Arena, right, and again it had an opening act,

<v Speaker 1>so I thought, opening act starts at seven o'clock. Right,

<v Speaker 1>they're gonna go for an hour and some change. Sure,

<v Speaker 1>that's usually how it goes. And the terns, everybody's out

<v Speaker 1>getting their drinks, and I'm thinking, by nine o'clock, Good

<v Speaker 1>Charlotte's gonna take the stage. They'll be on till ten

<v Speaker 1>thirty eleven, and it'll be the best show ever and

<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna have the time of my life. And I'm

<v Speaker 1>gonna be tired today, but it'll be fine because I

<v Speaker 1>got to see Good Charlotte. Well that is not what happened.

<v Speaker 2>What happened.

<v Speaker 1>I show up to Paul Arena at like eight forty five,

<v Speaker 1>and I'm like, I'm early, this is perfect, And I

<v Speaker 1>park and I go into the building and I see

<v Speaker 1>all these people in the concourse and they have the

<v Speaker 1>Avenge sevenfold shirts on. So I'm like Oh, well, they're

<v Speaker 1>not staying there, They're gonna dip whatever. It's fine. I'm

<v Speaker 1>here for Good Charlotte. That just means I could maybe

<v Speaker 1>move down even further into the concert and be even

<v Speaker 1>closer to one of my favorite acts. So I get

<v Speaker 1>up to where I'm supposed to be and I'm actually

<v Speaker 1>in a suite, right And so I get in there

<v Speaker 1>and I will open the door and there's nobody in

<v Speaker 1>there and everywhere. Well, no, I'm excited because I'm like,

<v Speaker 1>I get the whole suite to myself.

<v Speaker 2>That's a good feeling. This is the best.

<v Speaker 3>We get those tickets and we are in there early

<v Speaker 3>and get to enjoy it for like, you know, half

<v Speaker 3>an hour before anyone else.

<v Speaker 2>It's a good feeling.

<v Speaker 1>That's when you do all your videos, you take pictures

<v Speaker 1>your loving life. But it's funny because as I'm rolling

<v Speaker 1>into the suite, I noticed that Good Charlotte has already

<v Speaker 1>taken the stage, and I was like, oh, I'm glad

<v Speaker 1>I didn't miss so much. And they're playing Lifestyles of

<v Speaker 1>the Rich and the Famous, which is one of their

<v Speaker 1>the biggest song, yeah, biggest song, arguably their biggest song.

<v Speaker 1>And I'm like, oh, they opened with it, Well, that's

<v Speaker 1>a nice little twist, isn't. It's not.

<v Speaker 4>They're like, good night everybody, and their big good Charlotte

<v Speaker 4>brand goes up on the screen.

<v Speaker 1>All the lights come on, and I was like, hey,

<v Speaker 1>wait what hap? I could not be it. The show

<v Speaker 1>was done at nine o'clock and I still don't know

<v Speaker 1>how that happened.

<v Speaker 3>First of all, that's hilarious, it's not. You didn't notice

<v Speaker 3>that the parking lot was like full. No people were leaving,

<v Speaker 3>nobody was in line, people were walking in the other direction,

<v Speaker 3>and you're like.

<v Speaker 1>Dude, do do do? When they scanned my ticket, they

<v Speaker 1>were like, Hi, what.

<v Speaker 2>You didn't notice any none of it?

<v Speaker 1>None of it. I at nine o'clock at night, I

<v Speaker 1>am so in my own zone. It's eight forty five.

<v Speaker 1>Let's get up to that. I'm going to be like,

<v Speaker 1>you know, let's get maybe some popcorn before I take

<v Speaker 1>my seat.

<v Speaker 2>And you got in there wrapping up good night everybody.

<v Speaker 3>And note she had slammed a giant energy drink, so

<v Speaker 3>she had a silwere concert.

<v Speaker 2>So then you didn't sleep.

<v Speaker 4>I didn't go to bed until like one thirty because

<v Speaker 4>out at a good Charlotte concert.

<v Speaker 3>Oh a second observation, that's awesome. That is the way
