<v Speaker 1>Tonight was a special episode of AEW Dynamite, the Rebel

<v Speaker 1>Heart episode. They've been promoting this now for some time.

<v Speaker 1>It was a tribute to AEW star Taneya Brooks, better

<v Speaker 1>known as Rebel. We haven't seen her on television in

<v Speaker 1>a very long time, and there's a very good reason

<v Speaker 1>for that. Unfortunately, she's been dealing with a lot of

<v Speaker 1>very serious health issues now for a number of years.

<v Speaker 1>And when I say years, I'm talking at least the

<v Speaker 1>last two, maybe three years. And for those of you

<v Speaker 1>who haven't been following what has been going on with her,

<v Speaker 1>she started having a lot of issues years ago. Didn't

<v Speaker 1>know what it was. She was seeing all kinds of

<v Speaker 1>doctors trying to get diagnosed. And it was a very

<v Speaker 1>frustrating experience for her because she was misdiagnosed and there

<v Speaker 1>were other doctors who just didn't know what was going on.

<v Speaker 1>And it wasn't until earlier this year that she was

<v Speaker 1>officially diagnosed with ALS. or Lou Gehrig's disease, as it

<v Speaker 1>is sometimes known, which is a terminal illness. It's the

<v Speaker 1>same illness that Steve Mongo McMichael had, and he passed

<v Speaker 1>away not too long ago. Unfortunately, there is no cure

<v Speaker 1>for it. They're doing research, they're trying to find different treatments,

<v Speaker 1>but it's a chronic terminal illness. Very, very serious. It's

<v Speaker 1>a death sentence, is what it is. And I will

<v Speaker 1>tell you that having followed a lot of her videos

<v Speaker 1>on social media, the way that she talks about it,

<v Speaker 1>the way that she shares her story, she's a very

<v Speaker 1>brave woman. Because I cannot think of very many medical

<v Speaker 1>diagnoses that one could get that is as just awful

<v Speaker 1>as this one. It's just a very insidious disease. But

<v Speaker 1>she has put on a brave face and she's really

<v Speaker 1>become one of the many faces of ALS, partnering with

<v Speaker 1>various organizations and doing a lot of outreach and talking

<v Speaker 1>about the importance of donations and research. And when they

<v Speaker 1>announced this episode, I didn't know, I assumed she would

<v Speaker 1>be on the show. I didn't know to what extent

<v Speaker 1>she would be on the show. And this show took

<v Speaker 1>on a very different kind of tone when the butcher

<v Speaker 1>passed away this past weekend. because that was the big

<v Speaker 1>story coming out of the weekend, was the death of

<v Speaker 1>Andy Williams. Now, the Butcher had not been under contract

<v Speaker 1>to AEW since June. The Butcher and the Blade had

<v Speaker 1>been with the company from almost the very beginning. They'd

<v Speaker 1>been there for a good six years. Their contracts expired

<v Speaker 1>back in June. But obviously, they were part of that

<v Speaker 1>family for a very long time. A lot of the

<v Speaker 1>wrestlers there were very familiar with him and friendly with

<v Speaker 1>him and knew of him and had glowing things to

<v Speaker 1>say about him. And he passed away on Friday night

<v Speaker 1>after his match at the Enjoy Wrestling show in Pennsylvania.

<v Speaker 1>48 years old, very sudden, very shocking, very sad. So

<v Speaker 1>coming into the show, there were a lot of emotions.

<v Speaker 1>And I would imagine there were a lot of emotions

<v Speaker 1>for the people who worked in that company. What they

<v Speaker 1>did tonight was they treated it with... Great class, but

<v Speaker 1>I thought what they did with Rebel was just very,

<v Speaker 1>very cool. The way they were able to incorporate her

<v Speaker 1>into the show was a very emotional night in that regard.

<v Speaker 1>And unfortunately, you know, A.W. and Tony Khan in the past,

<v Speaker 1>and I always think back to that, you know, Brodie

<v Speaker 1>Lee tribute show back in 2020, they've had a few

<v Speaker 1>occasions over the years where they've had to pay tribute

<v Speaker 1>to people, and it's always a very shitty situation. They

<v Speaker 1>have done a really good job, though, of handling these

<v Speaker 1>situations in the past, and I think they should be

<v Speaker 1>commended for the show tonight. I thought they did a

<v Speaker 1>very good job with it. Obviously, it sucks that they

<v Speaker 1>had to, but tonight wasn't really so much about the matches.

<v Speaker 1>It wasn't even so much about the stories, although they

<v Speaker 1>did try to further those stories, and they're promoting a

<v Speaker 1>pay-per-view that's coming up in a few weeks. But that's

<v Speaker 1>not really what this show is about. if we're being honest.

<v Speaker 1>And we'll talk about everything that happened here. But especially

<v Speaker 1>after that Rebel segment, you know, when it aired in

<v Speaker 1>the middle of the show, you know, there was really

<v Speaker 1>nothing else that would come after that that was going

<v Speaker 1>to have the kind of impact that that had. We

<v Speaker 1>did have a tables match in the main event tonight

<v Speaker 1>where the Young Bucks actually took a loss to the

<v Speaker 1>Don Callis family, which was surprising given that the Bucks

<v Speaker 1>are in the big, you know, trio tag team title

<v Speaker 1>match coming up. I say trios. It's a three-way tag

<v Speaker 1>team title match coming up in Chicago at the end

<v Speaker 1>of the month. Although FTR had a lot to do

<v Speaker 1>with that. And FTR, of course, is one of their

<v Speaker 1>opponents coming up at All Out. So they took the

<v Speaker 1>loss in the main event. We got to see Sting Jr.

<v Speaker 1>We got to see Stephen Borden on this show multiple

<v Speaker 1>times to the point where I hope they're not going

<v Speaker 1>to burn him out. He does not have a lot

<v Speaker 1>of experience. He's obviously still very green. Darby Allin took

<v Speaker 1>him under his wing and has been training him now

<v Speaker 1>for a very long time. You look at him, it's

<v Speaker 1>like I'm looking into a window to the past. You know,

<v Speaker 1>I mean, again, he is his father's son and he's

<v Speaker 1>in great shape. He's not the youngest guy. He got

<v Speaker 1>a late start on things. I want to say maybe

<v Speaker 1>he's 37. So it's not like he's, you know, got

<v Speaker 1>20 years ahead of him. But he's picked up on

<v Speaker 1>things very well in a very short period of time.

<v Speaker 1>He looks the part. We got to hear him cut

<v Speaker 1>his first promo on Dynamite. Not bad. Again, very much

<v Speaker 1>reminded me of his father, just in terms of not

<v Speaker 1>just how he looks, but how he speaks. And that's

<v Speaker 1>not a bad thing, because I think, you know, I

<v Speaker 1>consider Sting to be a really good promo. If he

<v Speaker 1>could be a promo even remotely close to his dad,

<v Speaker 1>he'll be okay. But we really... got to get our

<v Speaker 1>first kind of look at him on the main show tonight.

<v Speaker 1>He had multiple segments. He had a match, he had

<v Speaker 1>a backstage promo, and he came out at the very

<v Speaker 1>end to make the save, along with Darby Allin for

<v Speaker 1>the Young Bucks. So we'll talk about what happened with

<v Speaker 1>him tonight and everything else, because there were a bunch

<v Speaker 1>of other things that took place. But again, tonight was

<v Speaker 1>about Rebel. That is why it is the Rebel Heart

<v Speaker 1>episode of Dynamite. I'm very thankful that you can join

<v Speaker 1>got to watch exactly what does the money go to.

<v Speaker 1>But they seem like a pretty reputable organization. Again, AEW

<v Speaker 1>has been pushing them. And so that is where that

<v Speaker 1>will be going. So get them on in. If you

<v Speaker 1>starts to fail on you, but the mind is still sharp.

<v Speaker 1>You remember the waiting rooms from the earlier days of Dynamite,

<v Speaker 1>many years ago. When Britt Baker was actually on the show,

<v Speaker 1>she used to host the show. Rebel would actually introduce

<v Speaker 1>her because she was with Britt. So here we had

<v Speaker 1>Rebel in her wheelchair introducing Britt Baker, who immediately referred

<v Speaker 1>to her as Reba. This was the running gag back

<v Speaker 1>then where she would call her Reba and she would

<v Speaker 1>be like, my name is Rebel. So she said, Reba.

<v Speaker 1>You've inspired everybody. And then, of course, Rebel corrected her

<v Speaker 1>and said, it's Rebel, not Reba. Just for old time's sake.

<v Speaker 1>Baker then introduced Persephone, who she calls Percy, the reigning

<v Speaker 1>TBS champion slash CMLL Women's World Champion. She walks out

<v Speaker 1>onto the set and Rebel had to remind Persephone when

<v Speaker 1>she was referring to Britt Baker that it is Dr.

<v Speaker 1>So she said that she thanked the doctor for helping

<v Speaker 1>her save the division after Maya World held the TBS

<v Speaker 1>Swerve Strickland. They had that match with the Rascals, which

<v Speaker 1>was a lot of fun. They were back here this week.

<v Speaker 1>This time it was Swerve and the New Level against

<v Speaker 1>the conglomeration for the AEW Trios titles. We got Kofi

<v Speaker 1>meeting Orange Cassidy here for the first time, which was...

<v Speaker 1>Quite the first meeting. Kofi was perplexed by this man.

<v Speaker 1>It was another week where the New Day was out

<v Speaker 1>here just busting their asses and flying all over the

<v Speaker 1>place and moving around at a pace that I'm not

<v Speaker 1>really used to seeing them wrestle on TV. Kofi avoided

<v Speaker 1>the orange punch, caught Cassidy instead and was holding him

<v Speaker 1>for swerve to come out of nowhere with a house

<v Speaker 1>call kick. And then Kofi had... Cassidy across his knee,

<v Speaker 1>Creed comes off the top rope with the double knees,

<v Speaker 1>or not the double knees, but the double stomp, or

<v Speaker 1>as they call it, daybreak, and the champs retain. Another

<v Speaker 1>fun trios match, two weeks in a row for Swerve

<v Speaker 1>and the new level. Now, when it was over, Kyle O'Reilly,

<v Speaker 1>Orange Cassidy, they shake hands with the champions. Ricochet then

<v Speaker 1>makes his way out with the Gates of Agony and

<v Speaker 1>the Lethal Twist. To shit on all three men in

<v Speaker 1>the ring. No more of this kumbaya crap, says Ricochet.

<v Speaker 1>He also said that Toa Leona's shoulders were not down

<v Speaker 1>on the mat, therefore they never should have lost the

<v Speaker 1>trio's titles all those many weeks ago in the first place.

<v Speaker 1>So they want their rematch. He wants the champions to

<v Speaker 1>get the stepping before they come in there and they

<v Speaker 1>lay an ass whooping on them. So now they got

<v Speaker 1>the ring surrounded, but here comes Hangman Adam Page, here

<v Speaker 1>comes Brody King, and here comes Bandito to even things up.

<v Speaker 1>And at that point, the heels backpedaled. Swerve and Hangman,

<v Speaker 1>they came eye to eye. The former champions, they picked

<v Speaker 1>up the trio's belts. Brodito, they handed over the gold

<v Speaker 1>to the new level. Page was a little more reluctant

<v Speaker 1>before he ultimately did hand the belt over to Swerve.

<v Speaker 1>So there was a little tension there between those two.

<v Speaker 1>But all was well in the end. And I was

<v Speaker 1>looking at this going, okay, all out, Chicago, I see

<v Speaker 1>the vision. Not that vision. We get enough of that

<v Speaker 1>on Monday. But I see the vision. I see Swerve

<v Speaker 1>and I see the new level against Hangman, Brody King,

<v Speaker 1>and Bandito. Now that's a fucking match. If that's where

<v Speaker 1>we're headed here, that's a fucking match that I'm looking

<v Speaker 1>forward to. I will say this. We could use some

<v Speaker 1>promo time from Kofi and Kree. We have not heard

<v Speaker 1>from them since they debuted. Now it's only been a

<v Speaker 1>couple of weeks, but you got two guys who can

<v Speaker 1>definitely cut promos. So hopefully we can get some promo

<v Speaker 1>time for them on this show by next week. We

<v Speaker 1>go to the back with Stephen Borden, our first of

<v Speaker 1>many appearances by Stephen Borden on this show, him and

<v Speaker 1>Darby Allen. They are teaming up later in the show

<v Speaker 1>to take on the Don Callis family. So Stephen says that,

<v Speaker 1>you know, he's lived in his father's shadow, but he

<v Speaker 1>wants to make a name for himself. And he watched

<v Speaker 1>decades of his father's career right in front of his eyes.

<v Speaker 1>A revolution a couple of years ago. And he didn't

<v Speaker 1>want to look back and ask, what if?

<v Speaker 3>Right?

<v Speaker 1>If he didn't pursue this himself. So he called Darby Allen.

<v Speaker 1>And Darby said, well, the training wheels are off and

<v Speaker 1>the pressure is on now. He goes, you don't have

<v Speaker 1>to be the second coming of Sting. You just need

<v Speaker 1>to worry about being the first Stephen Borden. And that's

<v Speaker 1>true for now. Although I did talk about this, I

<v Speaker 1>think it was last week. I would not be opposed,

<v Speaker 1>down the line, I would not be opposed to him

<v Speaker 1>taking on the mantle of the face paint. Whether it's

<v Speaker 1>the crow paint or the old, you know, surfers thing

<v Speaker 1>colored paint on his face. Almost like he's now earned

<v Speaker 1>the honor of having that passed down to him. At

<v Speaker 1>some point, doesn't have to be now. I think that

<v Speaker 1>would be cool. If he wore the paint, even if

<v Speaker 1>he only wore the paint on like special occasions, maybe

<v Speaker 1>he doesn't do it every week, but for like a

<v Speaker 1>big pay-per-view match or something, uh, I think that would

<v Speaker 1>be cool. But as far as promos go now, look,

<v Speaker 1>he didn't say a lot here. It was a pretty basic, pretty,

<v Speaker 1>pretty brief promo, but he sounded very sure of himself.

<v Speaker 1>He didn't seem nervous or, you know, stumbling over his

<v Speaker 1>words or anything like that. And again, I can't, I just,

<v Speaker 1>I hear that voice. I mean, you see the face,

<v Speaker 1>but I hear the voice and I hear his father.

<v Speaker 1>which is not a bad thing. So as basic and

<v Speaker 1>brief of a promo as it was, it was good.

<v Speaker 1>It's a good start. And we would see him in

<v Speaker 1>the ring for the first time on Dynamite a little

<v Speaker 1>bit later on. They cut back to the announce desk,

<v Speaker 1>where Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Taz, they all briefly spoke

<v Speaker 1>away a few days ago. Excalibur then read from a

<v Speaker 1>very nice, prepared statement that he put together. He was

<v Speaker 1>barely able to keep it together because he was so

<v Speaker 1>broken up. And he ended it by saying, And just, again,

<v Speaker 1>he was really struggling towards the end of this to.

<v Speaker 1>To get the words out, which I'm sure was very

<v Speaker 1>important to him. I know the two of them were

<v Speaker 1>very good friends. And it was just heartbreaking to watch

<v Speaker 1>and to listen to, because you could hear the pain

<v Speaker 1>in his voice. But also, I thought it was very classy.

<v Speaker 1>It was very classy and very much encapsulated really what

<v Speaker 1>everybody has been saying now for days on social media

<v Speaker 1>about Andy Williams, whether they knew him from wrestling or

<v Speaker 1>whether they knew him from music, because he was multi-talented.

<v Speaker 1>You know, he was a wrestler, but he'd been doing

<v Speaker 1>music since the Attitude Era. When Stone Cold won his

<v Speaker 1>first championship in 1998, around that period of time, is

<v Speaker 1>when the band Every Time I Die was formed. So

<v Speaker 1>that was a very big part of his life as well.

<v Speaker 1>And everybody who knew him from all walks of life,

<v Speaker 1>from what I've seen, everything that they put out, Not

<v Speaker 1>one bad thing to say about the guy. Which is

<v Speaker 1>really telling. When you can live your life in such

<v Speaker 1>a way that when you die, people aren't just trying

<v Speaker 1>to be nice. Oh, well, someone died, so let's say

<v Speaker 1>something nice about them. Well, if you live your life

<v Speaker 1>a certain way, there are going to be people who

<v Speaker 1>are going to be honest about their experiences with you.

<v Speaker 1>In this case, you could tell. every experience that he

<v Speaker 1>had with anybody that's worth anything was a positive one.

<v Speaker 1>And so we should all aspire to live our lives

<v Speaker 1>that way. Where when that day comes that we're not

<v Speaker 1>here anymore and people talk about us, they don't talk

<v Speaker 1>shit about us. Where they don't feel like, well, I

<v Speaker 1>don't really have anything nice to say about this person.

<v Speaker 1>Clearly that was not the case with him. And I

<v Speaker 1>thought the way that they handled this was was very classy.

<v Speaker 1>You know, one of the other things that Excalibur said

<v Speaker 1>in his statement was they learned through him, as an example,

<v Speaker 1>not to judge a book by its cover. And I

<v Speaker 1>kind of made a similar comment when I was talking

<v Speaker 1>about him on the sound off this weekend and on

<v Speaker 1>Uncrowned yesterday, where the first time that I saw him, again,

<v Speaker 1>just the big burly guy and the big bushy mustache

<v Speaker 1>and all tatted up and everything. And he's walking around

<v Speaker 1>and he had, what was it, the monocle or whatever.

<v Speaker 1>And he looked like something out of a bygone era,

<v Speaker 1>but he just that gruff kind of exterior. But when

<v Speaker 1>you got to know him, if you were somebody who

<v Speaker 1>knew him or if you heard his voice, like in

<v Speaker 1>an interview, it just like the two things didn't go together.

<v Speaker 1>Like you would just take one look at him and

<v Speaker 1>have a certain impression of him. And then you would

<v Speaker 1>either get to know him or hear him. And it

<v Speaker 1>was like something totally out of left field. So he

<v Speaker 1>is actually a great example of that. You know, not

<v Speaker 1>not judging a book by its cover. So he made

<v Speaker 1>that point here in his statement. But again, Excalibur did

<v Speaker 1>a very good job with this. They're also dedicating Collision

<v Speaker 1>this Saturday to him as well. It's a tribute to

<v Speaker 1>The Butcher, which is very cool. After a break, Rene

<v Speaker 1>was backstage with the Don Callis family and their various

<v Speaker 1>teams because they had a couple of different teams in

<v Speaker 1>a couple of different matches here on this show. Mark

<v Speaker 1>never stopped smiling, by the way. Even after Fletcher walked off, Okada,

<v Speaker 1>you know, he's yucking it up with Don Callis. Big

<v Speaker 1>I don't know where Takeshita disappeared to. I don't think

<v Speaker 1>we've seen him since Wembley. I don't think he was

<v Speaker 1>on the show last week, was he? I don't believe so.

<v Speaker 1>After this, we had the TBS and CMLL Women's Champion Persephone,

<v Speaker 1>along with Hikaru Shida, and the returning Dr. Britt Baker, DMD,

<v Speaker 1>against Maya World, Haiyan, and Thunder Rosa. This was Britt

<v Speaker 1>Baker's first match of any kind, in AEW or anywhere.

<v Speaker 1>She hasn't worked indies in 22 months. She has been

<v Speaker 1>out of the ring since November of 2024, so it's

<v Speaker 1>been a long time. At the very beginning here, she

<v Speaker 1>teased starting the match out, but then she saw Thunder

<v Speaker 1>Rosa across the ring, and she quickly bailed. So Persephone

<v Speaker 1>started out instead. She's had her issues with Thunder Rosa

<v Speaker 1>and CMLL. Britt didn't do too much here in this match,

<v Speaker 1>but what she did, she looked fine. Again, for somebody

<v Speaker 1>who's been out as long as she was out, reintroduced.

<v Speaker 1>her in a tag match like this probably was the

<v Speaker 1>smart way to go. Rosa did give chase to her outside. Persephone,

<v Speaker 1>this was later in the match. Persephone was waiting for her, though,

<v Speaker 1>caught her with a spear. Maya then flew off the

<v Speaker 1>top and took out Persephone with a crossbody on the floor.

<v Speaker 1>And then... The moment of the night, and the moment

<v Speaker 1>of this match, the crowd comes to its feet. Rebel

<v Speaker 1>rolls herself down to ringside in her wheelchair. I think

<v Speaker 1>she's got the electric wheelchair. She rolls herself down to

<v Speaker 1>the ring to a huge pop, and she reaches up

<v Speaker 1>and she hands Britt Baker the black glove. Because Britt

<v Speaker 1>always puts the glove on before she puts the lockjaw on.

<v Speaker 1>So she reaches up and hands the glove to Britt.

<v Speaker 1>Britt is holding back tears as best she can. She's

<v Speaker 1>doing a hell of a lot better than I was,

<v Speaker 1>I will say, during this segment. Sheeta, she was doing

<v Speaker 1>some other stuff outside. It's not really important what she

<v Speaker 1>was doing in this moment. Haiyan rolled up Baker, though.

<v Speaker 1>As Baker had the glove, she got rolled up, almost

<v Speaker 1>got pinned. But she kicked out. Baker popped back up,

<v Speaker 1>hit a thrust kick, and she put the glove on.

<v Speaker 1>She got lockjaw applied with the glove for the submission

<v Speaker 1>while Rebel was sitting in her wheelchair ringside and Sheeta

<v Speaker 1>was with her. And they're watching this and the bell,

<v Speaker 1>you know, they ring the bell and everyone's cheering and crying.

<v Speaker 1>Rebel's crying. Sheeta's crying. Britt's crying. I'm crying. I mean,

<v Speaker 1>this was something else. And When the match was over,

<v Speaker 1>Britt goes outside. She sits in Rebel's lap in the chair.

<v Speaker 1>And they showed the back of the wheelchair and it

<v Speaker 1>said the role model. Or the role model. R-O-L-L. Not,

<v Speaker 1>you know, like Bailey. And she backed the chair up

<v Speaker 1>the ramp with Britt sitting in her lap. And it

<v Speaker 1>was just a wonderful... sight to see and it was

<v Speaker 1>very emotional and everybody was crying and you know again

<v Speaker 1>normally in this situation I would point out to you

<v Speaker 1>how backwards it was that the heels were booked in

<v Speaker 1>this way these are the heels in this match and

<v Speaker 1>they were booked like baby faces and they were cheered

<v Speaker 1>like baby faces and normally I would point out how

<v Speaker 1>backwards that all is but it didn't matter tonight it

<v Speaker 1>didn't matter I did actually point that out in my

<v Speaker 1>all-in review, too, when Britt interfered in the TBS title

<v Speaker 1>match and cost Maya World, and the announcers were just

<v Speaker 1>so happy to see Britt Baker back, and I'm like,

<v Speaker 1>you know, poor Maya World just got screwed over here,

<v Speaker 1>but nobody seems to care. But tonight, it didn't matter.

<v Speaker 1>None of that mattered. It was all about this moment.

<v Speaker 1>This entire show was dedicated to this woman, and it

<v Speaker 1>was a fantastic moment. Um, I'm sure it meant a

<v Speaker 1>lot to Brit as well, because I know the two

<v Speaker 1>of them have been not just on screen, but the

<v Speaker 1>two of them have been friends for a very long time, uh,

<v Speaker 1>for her to come back and be a part of this.

<v Speaker 1>It was, it was, it was something special. I will

<v Speaker 1>say that as sad as the whole situation is just

<v Speaker 1>seeing her there and she was super happy. And then

<v Speaker 1>she was obviously very emotional. Rebel was very emotional. Um, man,

<v Speaker 1>it just, it, it, it got to me. I don't

<v Speaker 1>see how it couldn't get to you. You know, how

<v Speaker 1>does that not make you feel a certain way? Just

<v Speaker 1>knowing what this woman is going through and she gets this,

<v Speaker 1>you know, one big moment here on this show and

<v Speaker 1>everybody's going crazy for her and it's like they got

<v Speaker 1>the band back together. I'm very, very happy that they

<v Speaker 1>were able to make that happen. And after this was over,

<v Speaker 1>They aired a video package dedicated to Rebel, and in

<v Speaker 1>the video they showed her from the early days of

<v Speaker 1>her alliance with Brit right up until the modern day

<v Speaker 1>where she was talking about ALS and she was talking

<v Speaker 1>about her health struggles and everything that she's been through

<v Speaker 1>over the last couple of years and how people could help.

<v Speaker 1>It's a very well done video, and I think she

<v Speaker 1>made a very compelling case for people to help raise awareness.

<v Speaker 1>for a cause that is unfortunately something affecting a lot

<v Speaker 1>of people right now in this country. And I don't

<v Speaker 1>know that there's necessarily any sort of, you know, early

<v Speaker 1>indicator or, you know, what the latest research shows. I

<v Speaker 1>doubt that she had any sense, you know, that a

<v Speaker 1>diagnosis like this was coming her way or if there's

<v Speaker 1>anybody in her family who's You know, I'm not sure

<v Speaker 1>that there really is necessarily a family tie when it

<v Speaker 1>comes to something like this, which is kind of what

<v Speaker 1>makes it so scary. But I remember the Steve Mongo

<v Speaker 1>McMichael stuff. And I remember it from all the talk

<v Speaker 1>about wanting him to be in the Hall of Fame

<v Speaker 1>and how they wanted to try to get him to

<v Speaker 1>the Hall of Fame when he was ultimately inducted. I

<v Speaker 1>think they brought the Hall of Fame to him because

<v Speaker 1>at that point he was immobile. And they did a

<v Speaker 1>whole ceremony in his house. Like his bed was right

<v Speaker 1>there and they came to him. And that was a very,

<v Speaker 1>and I talked about that on the sound off at

<v Speaker 1>the time. And that was a very special thing. And

<v Speaker 1>so I, but I remember seeing those images of him

<v Speaker 1>and people and like Ric Flair and some of the

<v Speaker 1>other contemporaries of his from the NFL would come to

<v Speaker 1>the house to visit him. And, and, you know, they,

<v Speaker 1>they would show the pictures of it. And it was like,

<v Speaker 1>you would see this man laying there who used to

<v Speaker 1>be this hulking figure. You know, from the Chicago Bears.

<v Speaker 1>And he used to wrestle. And a former United States champion.

<v Speaker 1>And a four horseman. And you saw how he was

<v Speaker 1>by the end there.

<v Speaker 3>And....

<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I just... I don't know. I don't know what

<v Speaker 1>to say. She's a braver person than I might be

<v Speaker 1>in that same situation. And I just... Yeah, I just

<v Speaker 1>wish her all the best.

<v Speaker 3>Because.

<v Speaker 1>It doesn't get any better, unfortunately, but maybe it can

<v Speaker 1>for other people. And the more money that gets raised

<v Speaker 1>that does go to research, maybe there will come a day,

<v Speaker 1>I don't know if it'll be in our lifetime or not,

<v Speaker 1>but maybe that day will come where there could be

<v Speaker 1>some sort of breakthrough. And people won't have to go

<v Speaker 1>through that. Or they can really slow the progression of it.

<v Speaker 1>That's the hope. But this was all very well done.

<v Speaker 1>And good on them. Good on AEW and good on

<v Speaker 1>Tony for being able to put this together. We had

<v Speaker 1>Andrade El Idolo against The Beast Mortos for the AEW

<v Speaker 1>National Championship. Late in the match, Mortos, he caught the

<v Speaker 1>champion with a pop-up Simone drop. He went for another one.

<v Speaker 1>He went for another pop-up. And I don't know what

<v Speaker 1>happened here. Andrade, he landed on Frank's shoulders, Frank the Lawyer.

<v Speaker 1>landed on his shoulders in a position where he was

<v Speaker 1>either going to go, it looked like, for a victory roll,

<v Speaker 1>or maybe he was going to go backwards and give

<v Speaker 1>him a poison rana. And instead, they just sort of

<v Speaker 1>fell very slowly backwards in an electric chair position. So

<v Speaker 1>I'm not sure exactly what was originally intended here. They

<v Speaker 1>kind of botched it up a little bit, but not

<v Speaker 1>a huge deal. They simply moved on, and Andrade hit

<v Speaker 1>the Dia de los Muertos, the spinning back elbow. And

<v Speaker 1>then he hit the DM to finish off the beast

<v Speaker 1>and retain the championship in what I thought otherwise was

<v Speaker 1>a solid match. And when the match was over, Andrade

<v Speaker 1>got the microphone. He said, Mortos is a good wrestler,

<v Speaker 1>but he's not good enough to beat a real Latino man.

<v Speaker 1>He said that he would defend his title every week.

<v Speaker 1>And he has just one question. How you know? How

<v Speaker 1>you know? But then he got blindsided by the dogs.

<v Speaker 1>Gabe Kidd, Clark Connors, David Finley said that they know

<v Speaker 1>because they're always one step ahead of him. Will Ospreay's

<v Speaker 1>music hits. The AW world champion makes his way out.

<v Speaker 1>He hits the ring. Connors got backdropped out to the floor.

<v Speaker 1>Kidd got sent out over the top of the clothesline.

<v Speaker 1>Ospreay helped up Andrade. They're surrounded by dogs, though, until

<v Speaker 1>the Death Riders music hits. Out comes Jon Moxley with

<v Speaker 1>Marina Shafir. Moxley was coming out to sit in on

<v Speaker 1>commentary for the next match, which was going to be

<v Speaker 1>Will Ospreay against David Finley. So he took a seat

<v Speaker 1>at ringside, and that led directly into the next match,

<v Speaker 1>which was not a championship match. However, it was an

<v Speaker 1>eliminator match, where if David Finley could beat Will Ospreay,

<v Speaker 1>he would earn the right to challenge for the AEW

<v Speaker 1>World Championship. Late in the match, Ospreay, he signaled for

<v Speaker 1>the Hidden Blade. Finley, though, bailed out. Then he hung

<v Speaker 1>Ospreay out over the top rope, turned him inside out

<v Speaker 1>with a lariat for a near fall. Ospreay came back

<v Speaker 1>with an oscutter for two. Finley countered a hidden blade

<v Speaker 1>into a backslide. Ospreay, though, rolled through into a stun dog,

<v Speaker 1>followed by a Styles Clash for the win. I'm so

<v Speaker 1>happy to see the Styles Clash actually win a match.

<v Speaker 1>Ospreay's not the only one who has used the Styles

<v Speaker 1>Clash this year since AJ retired. And I can't think of,

<v Speaker 1>I mean, maybe once it happened, but I can't really

<v Speaker 1>think of very many times where people have won with it.

<v Speaker 1>I'm glad he actually won with the move here. Now,

<v Speaker 1>after the match, Ospreay just looked over at Moxley and

<v Speaker 1>was just burning a hole through him, just staring him down.

<v Speaker 1>And then Moxley got up from behind the desk and

<v Speaker 1>he and Marina Shafir left through the crowd. That is,

<v Speaker 1>of course, your all out main event, which was made

<v Speaker 1>official at the end of the show last week. And

<v Speaker 1>it looked like it surprised the hell out of the

<v Speaker 1>two of them when they saw the graphic go up

<v Speaker 1>on the big screen. It certainly shocked the hell out

<v Speaker 1>of Jon Moxley. We did actually get an answer a

<v Speaker 1>little bit later on here in this show about what

<v Speaker 1>Will Ospreay knew or didn't know. We'll get to that.

<v Speaker 1>But again, I just want to take a moment here

<v Speaker 1>So we're one step closer to the match. As I

<v Speaker 1>said earlier, I was hoping maybe this was being set

<v Speaker 1>up for All Out. Swerve in the new level against

<v Speaker 1>these guys. I would say the All Out card so far,

<v Speaker 1>shaping up very nicely. They didn't make this official. We

<v Speaker 1>still only have two matches official for that show, but

<v Speaker 1>we're getting a a glimpse into what the other matches

<v Speaker 1>are going to look like. And I like what I'm

<v Speaker 1>seeing so far. The card is coming together very nicely.

<v Speaker 1>We have the TNT champion Darby Allin teaming up with

<v Speaker 1>Stephen Borden. Take on the Don Callis family, Mark Davis

<v Speaker 1>and Josh Alexander. I was very curious to see how

<v Speaker 1>Borden looked here. Darby was going to star. Davis, though,

<v Speaker 1>wanted Borden. And so we had Elijo del Sting got

<v Speaker 1>in the match to start things out. Borden did a

<v Speaker 1>big leapfrog into an arm drag right out of the gate.

<v Speaker 1>No surprise. I mean, he's a very athletic guy. We

<v Speaker 1>already kind of knew that. Darby tagged in. Alexander blind

<v Speaker 1>tagged in. He got a chop block on Darby. And

<v Speaker 1>from that point on, really through the break, coming out

<v Speaker 1>of the break, it was the heels just working over Darby.

<v Speaker 1>Davis locked in a cloverleaf. And the heels were working

<v Speaker 1>very hard to make sure that he did not get

<v Speaker 1>that tag to Borden. They kept trying to pull him

<v Speaker 1>away and cut it off. Darby finally did hot tag

<v Speaker 1>him in. And the fans went wild. And Borden body

<v Speaker 1>slammed Davis onto his own partner. Laid out Davis out

<v Speaker 1>at ringside with a leaping clothesline off the ring steps.

<v Speaker 1>Back inside, Davis was seated on the top row. Borden

<v Speaker 1>hit a very impressive standing dropkick. Got some good height

<v Speaker 1>on that. Alexander, though, cut off a superplex attempt into

<v Speaker 1>a rack bomb. Darby, though, broke up the pin. So Borden,

<v Speaker 1>he escaped the snake eyes in the corner, then hit

<v Speaker 1>a scorpion death drop to Josh Alexander at the same

<v Speaker 1>time that Darby Allen came off the top with a

<v Speaker 1>coffin drop. That was very cool. I like that combo.

<v Speaker 1>Darby then quickly, and I do mean quickly, launched himself

<v Speaker 1>with a low tope out to the floor into Davis

<v Speaker 1>right in front of the announcers. And Borden pinned Alexander

<v Speaker 1>to win the match. He pinned a former TNA world

<v Speaker 1>champion to win it for his team. So this was

<v Speaker 1>his Dynamite debut. In-ring Dynamite debut. He's got around 30

<v Speaker 1>matches or so. A little over 30 matches so far

<v Speaker 1>in about a year that he's been wrestling. So I

<v Speaker 1>think given those conditions, he's pretty good. He's not you know,

<v Speaker 1>that polished, obviously still very green and I'm sure limited

<v Speaker 1>in what he can do. And so it's smart to

<v Speaker 1>just kind of protect him in that regard and, and

<v Speaker 1>don't have him out there doing stuff that he can't do,

<v Speaker 1>but you could tell whether it's a standing drop kick

<v Speaker 1>went on to become a multiple-time world champion. Batista, I mean,

<v Speaker 1>you could find examples, and I'm not saying he's going

<v Speaker 1>to end up being a big star at that level.

<v Speaker 1>But it's not an impossible thing. It's in his blood.

<v Speaker 1>It's in his family. He's already an athletic guy. All

<v Speaker 1>of those things will work to his advantage. And look,

<v Speaker 1>it doesn't hurt to be the son of Sting. Why

<v Speaker 1>do you think he's getting this opportunity in the first place?

<v Speaker 1>And out comes Willow Nightingale, who had her broken handle

<v Speaker 1>taped up. And she charged down to the ring at

<v Speaker 1>the exact moment that Tekla bailed out of the ring.

<v Speaker 1>in the aisleway. Mercedes, meanwhile, was still up in the

<v Speaker 1>crowd holding up her belt. And so here we were

<v Speaker 1>a week ago thinking we're heading towards a singles match

<v Speaker 1>at All Out between Tecla and Mercedes, two heels, which

<v Speaker 1>is one of the reasons why I didn't really think

<v Speaker 1>that would work for All In. And I think they, look,

<v Speaker 1>I wasn't a fan of Willow being a transitional champion.

<v Speaker 1>I do believe, I believe that if her hand wasn't broken,

<v Speaker 1>she would still be the champion right now. That's just

<v Speaker 1>what I believe. I think the injury necessitated a title

<v Speaker 1>change on that show. Regardless, now we see the direction

<v Speaker 1>that they appear to be going in is not a singles.

<v Speaker 1>It looks like we're heading for a triple threat. And

<v Speaker 1>last couple of weeks, I mean, tonight was not the

<v Speaker 1>first time that, you know, Willow has been brought up

<v Speaker 1>here in a promo between Mercedes and Tecla. You know,

<v Speaker 1>her name has been dropped now a few times. But

<v Speaker 1>she's got the hand. If her hand really is broken,

<v Speaker 1>I still feel like it's stupid. For her to be

<v Speaker 1>wrestling if she has a broken hand, maybe it's not

<v Speaker 1>as injured as she thought it was, or the injury

<v Speaker 1>is such that it's not going to get any worse.

<v Speaker 1>It could be worse, but it's not, and she could

<v Speaker 1>get cleared. Fine. I mean, again, I still think it's

<v Speaker 1>stupid to wrestle with a broken hand, and she's a

<v Speaker 1>pretty important part of that women's division. I would rather

<v Speaker 1>her get healthy and then come back. But if she's

<v Speaker 1>able to go, we probably are looking at a triple

<v Speaker 1>threat match in Chicago. So again, not official. But if

<v Speaker 1>it is, this card is shaping up very nicely. Because

<v Speaker 1>that's another very good match that they could add to

<v Speaker 1>that show. Maybe they didn't announce it officially because they're

<v Speaker 1>not sure if she can get cleared. That's also a possibility,

<v Speaker 1>but that was the impression they left you with here

<v Speaker 1>at the end of this segment. It makes sense for

<v Speaker 1>her to be involved. I don't want Willow to just

<v Speaker 1>be cast aside. Well, she had her run, that's it.

<v Speaker 1>Shuffle her off to the side. She's too good for that.

<v Speaker 1>You know, maybe she's not going to win it back.

<v Speaker 1>You know, not right now. But she should still be

<v Speaker 1>in the mix. After a break, the Death Riders were

<v Speaker 1>backstage and Pac was not happy. He was big mad.

<v Speaker 1>He was telling Moxley, look, I said all along, you

<v Speaker 1>can't trust Will Ospreay. He's cocky. He's arrogant. He was

<v Speaker 1>never one of us. Daniel Garcia spoke up. He said,

<v Speaker 1>I always liked him. He always treated me well. He

<v Speaker 1>was always cool with me. Pack then asked, have you

<v Speaker 1>forgotten what happened at Redemption? Gabe Kidd said that a

<v Speaker 1>year ago they broke his neck. They left him in

<v Speaker 1>the hospital, in a hospital bed.

<v Speaker 3>And now what?

<v Speaker 1>They're showing respect. Why? Pack and Kidd called him a

<v Speaker 1>rat and a snake. And then Osprey walked in. And

<v Speaker 1>he said to Moxley, do me a favor and muzzle

<v Speaker 1>them so that you and I can speak. So off

<v Speaker 1>the other members of the Death Riders went. So we

<v Speaker 1>only had Moxley and we had Ospreay. And Ospreay tells Moxley,

<v Speaker 1>you're the one, or rather he's the one, you're the

<v Speaker 1>one getting the match because I'm the one who asked

<v Speaker 1>for it. So we got some clarity here from last week.

<v Speaker 1>Moxley was shocked. Ospreay was not because now we find

<v Speaker 1>out that Ospreay is the one who went to Tony

<v Speaker 1>Khan and asked for this match to be made at

<v Speaker 1>the pay-per-view. And the reason is, he says, that... Moxley

<v Speaker 1>is the only man to pin him in 2026. So

<v Speaker 1>in Ospreay's mind, Moxley is the number one contender. He

<v Speaker 1>said this won't be like Dynasty, though. This time Moxley

<v Speaker 1>can have the Death Riders at ringside to second him,

<v Speaker 1>which was not possible in their first match because it

<v Speaker 1>was for the Continental title. And so under Continental rules,

<v Speaker 1>nobody is allowed at ringside. No outside interference. Nobody could

<v Speaker 1>even be at ringside in your corner. So he said,

<v Speaker 1>this time it's a little bit different. You can have

<v Speaker 1>the Death Riders in your corner. And we don't have

<v Speaker 1>a 20 minute time limit to worry about because I

<v Speaker 1>get 60. And he's coming at Moxley for revenge with

<v Speaker 1>a game plan calculated. And he knows exactly what it

<v Speaker 1>takes to beat a Death Rider. Good way to start

<v Speaker 1>this reign, huh? Caving in the skull of the ace.

<v Speaker 1>And Moxley said, well then, It looks like you've got

<v Speaker 1>it all figured out. Osprey said Moxley would see. He

<v Speaker 1>would find out in Chicago. So he left, and then

<v Speaker 1>Moxley kind of peered back over at Pack, who was

<v Speaker 1>just standing nearby, just shaking his head like a disappointed dad.

<v Speaker 1>And Moxley threw a chair out of frustration. So Osprey

<v Speaker 1>specifically asked for this. I would imagine that that was

<v Speaker 1>something that they were going to have him say regardless.

<v Speaker 1>Either that or they saw some of the criticism last

<v Speaker 1>week about this match was sort of just out of nowhere.

<v Speaker 1>And yes, I understand. Moxley is still the ace, right?

<v Speaker 1>He's been there since day one, multiple times, four or

<v Speaker 1>five times world champion. He's been undefeated this year. If

<v Speaker 1>anybody deserves a shot at the world title, it's Moxley.

<v Speaker 1>It's just the way that it was announced and it

<v Speaker 1>just kind of came out of nowhere was very weird

<v Speaker 1>last week. Obviously, he was the one who made the

<v Speaker 1>most sense because he has a wind. A pay-per-view win,

<v Speaker 1>a victory over Will Ospreay this year. Nobody else does.

<v Speaker 1>Except this man. So of course it makes sense for

<v Speaker 1>him to get a world championship match. But I like

<v Speaker 1>the fact they at least had Ospreay say, yeah, it

<v Speaker 1>was me. I'm the one who asked for it. We

<v Speaker 1>have to settle this once and for all. The main

<v Speaker 1>event of the show was Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight

<v Speaker 1>taking on the Young Bucks in a tag team tables match.

<v Speaker 1>After one final commercial break, Kevin Knight, he was looking

<v Speaker 1>for a coast-to-coast to the table. There was a table

<v Speaker 1>in the ring in the corner. Nick was trapped in

<v Speaker 1>that corner. Matt, though, saved him and shoved the table

<v Speaker 1>into Knight's face after Knight took flight right out of midair.

<v Speaker 1>There was a double stomp from Matt into a Liger

<v Speaker 1>bomb from Nick onto a table, which didn't break. Of

<v Speaker 1>course it didn't break because the table was flat on

<v Speaker 1>the mat. Can't break if it's laying on the mat.

<v Speaker 1>But he did land on the table. So the Bucks

<v Speaker 1>were looking for a melter driver to Kevin Knight. Fletcher, though,

<v Speaker 1>put a stop to that. He ended up taking an

<v Speaker 1>apron DDT from Matt Jackson. Knight got spiked with the

<v Speaker 1>melter driver. Fletcher tried to make the save. He ended

<v Speaker 1>up eating a BTE trigger. Matt tried a sunset flip

<v Speaker 1>off the apron onto Knight, who held on. Nick, though,

<v Speaker 1>super kicked him, and Matt delivered a powerbomb through the table,

<v Speaker 1>eliminating him. That's how this works. Each member has to

<v Speaker 1>be put through a table. So a little bit after that,

<v Speaker 1>Matt was in the ring. He charged at Fletcher. Fletcher

<v Speaker 1>backdropped him way up into the air, backdropped him up,

<v Speaker 1>and he landed through one of the two tables that

<v Speaker 1>were set up side by side outside. It was supposed

<v Speaker 1>to be both tables, I'm sure. He went through one.

<v Speaker 1>It didn't look fun, taking that bump on his lower back.

<v Speaker 1>That did not look like it was a good time.

<v Speaker 1>So that left Nick Jackson and Kyle Fletcher as the

<v Speaker 1>final two here in this match. Fletcher hit a Michinoku

<v Speaker 1>driver before setting up a table. Nick launched himself off

<v Speaker 1>of it into a destroyer and then super kicked him backwards.

<v Speaker 1>And so Kyle very gently fell flat onto the table.

<v Speaker 1>He was in, as Michael Cole would say, he was

<v Speaker 1>in the drop zone. And up goes Nick Jackson, right?

<v Speaker 1>He's going for the kill. something Cody Rhodes would not

<v Speaker 1>know about because he is incapable of doing so, which

<v Speaker 1>is why he lost to Randy Orton. You like how

<v Speaker 1>I kind of weave these things together? I mean, he

<v Speaker 1>was a member of the elite, right? Cody and the Bucks, right?

<v Speaker 1>They used to be like this. So Nick Jackson is

<v Speaker 1>going up to the top, and here comes FTR. Now, again,

<v Speaker 1>no disqualifications in a tables match. They hit the ring

<v Speaker 1>to prevent Nick from making the leap. He fights him off.

<v Speaker 1>But Stokely Hathaway, he held onto the foot. That allowed

<v Speaker 1>Fletcher to grab Nick. And he delivered an avalanche brain

<v Speaker 1>buster through the table to put things away. Even though,

<v Speaker 1>if you watch this, Kyle Fletcher is really the one

<v Speaker 1>who went through the table. I'm not even sure Matt

<v Speaker 1>Jackson went through the table. I would say Kyle Fletcher

<v Speaker 1>took 95% of this bump, at least. Maybe 3%, so

<v Speaker 1>let's say 97%, and then 3% of Matt Jackson, part

<v Speaker 1>of his head maybe, went through the table. The reason, though,

<v Speaker 1>that the Callis family won is because the way it

<v Speaker 1>usually works traditionally in a tables match... is you have

<v Speaker 1>to be put through a table right it's not enough

<v Speaker 1>to put yourself through a table you have to be

<v Speaker 1>put through one by somebody else which is why that

<v Speaker 1>didn't count Matt Jackson went through kind of and so

<v Speaker 1>the young bucks lose they take the L here in

<v Speaker 1>this match After the match was over, FTR, they planted

<v Speaker 1>Matt with a shatter machine. Then they took him to

<v Speaker 1>the apron. And they were about to go for the

<v Speaker 1>spike pile driver. Through a table, by the way. When

<v Speaker 1>Darby Allin and Sting's son, Stephen Borden, made his way

<v Speaker 1>back out. They had a bat and they had a chair.

<v Speaker 1>So the heels made their exit. Knight and Fletcher, they

<v Speaker 1>were standing on top of the announce desk just to

<v Speaker 1>keep their distance. In the ring, the Bucks, they were

<v Speaker 1>offering handshakes to Darby and to Borden. And they slowly accepted.

<v Speaker 1>Borden was very hesitant given, I mean, you think back

<v Speaker 1>to his father's retirement match a couple of years ago,

<v Speaker 1>two and a half years ago now. They tried to

<v Speaker 1>end his father's career. I mean, it was a retirement match,

<v Speaker 1>but they tried to end his life in that match.

<v Speaker 1>And I guess Borden still hasn't forgotten about that. But

<v Speaker 1>in the end, he did shake hands with them. And

<v Speaker 1>that is how they went off the air. I was

<v Speaker 1>surprised to see the Bucks take the loss here, given

<v Speaker 1>that they have a tag team championship match coming up.

<v Speaker 1>But FTR getting involved, that gives them the out. And

<v Speaker 1>it puts more heat on the two teams, two of

<v Speaker 1>the three teams that are in that TLC, CLT, CTL,

<v Speaker 1>whatever they're calling it, puts more heat on these two

<v Speaker 1>teams here. Fletcher and Knight, they are now 2-0 as

<v Speaker 1>a tag team. I don't know if this is going

<v Speaker 1>to be a thing for a while, but if it is,

<v Speaker 1>Then I guess you could add another tag team to

<v Speaker 1>the pile. They got a lot of them right now

<v Speaker 1>in this company. The tag team division in AW is

<v Speaker 1>already the best anywhere in wrestling. Put these two guys

<v Speaker 1>together as a team, even just for a short period

<v Speaker 1>of time, that's only going to make the tag team

<v Speaker 1>division that much stronger. It was a good main event,

<v Speaker 1>closing out what I thought was a very good, very

<v Speaker 1>emotional episode of Dynamite. And again, I hate that they

<v Speaker 1>have to do these, but when it comes to stuff

<v Speaker 1>like this and paying tribute to people, Tony does a

<v Speaker 1>hell of a job with it. And he did so

<v Speaker 1>here tonight. A good show where, honestly, again, it wasn't

<v Speaker 1>even so much about the in-ring. It wasn't about the in-ring.

<v Speaker 1>It wasn't even so much about the stories. It was

<v Speaker 1>about paying tribute to a couple of different people. Butcher

<v Speaker 1>and Rebel. raising awareness for a good cause, and the

<v Speaker 1>Rebel stuff at the end of that women's tag team

<v Speaker 1>match was something very, very special. That will go down

<v Speaker 1>as one of the memorable moments, truly, in Dynamite history.
