so Mackenzie
this next topic um
it really did stop us in our tracks
is the moment the agent said it
I think we both were like
podcast topic
and we did ask her if we could use this yes
yeah we won't
username but I was like damn
this really describes a lot of real estate agents
so we were interviewing her
cause she was thinking about making a change
yes and what did she say
she was
she was like girl
I am bored burnt out and broke
and we're like oh
my gosh those
those are the three cycles
yeah that agents go through
yeah hopefully not all at the same time
which I think is why she was making a change
cause she was feeling like she was living all three
in that particular moment
which is a lot but I think
you know
sometimes you either cycle through it or unfortunately
you could be in the mode of feeling them all
nobody in real estate is gonna tell you the real stuff
so we will we're gonna talk about all the stuff
that nobody posts about but everybody needs to hear
we've been in this industry long enough
to know what works and long enough to know what doesn't
I'm Pam and I'm Mackenzie
and this is real talk real agents
if you're a real estate agent
that is so tired of the fake it till you make it energy
this is your show we
are two agents who are still in it every single day
and we are not coaching from the sidelines
we are in the trenches with you
no filters and no fluff alright
real talk starts right now
so today we're gonna talk about
what does it look like to be bored
burnt out and or broke and um
some tools to use
and just some experiences that maybe we've had for sure
so
if you have experienced any of these currently
in the past
feel like you may be a future pacesetter for this one
please like and subscribe
let's talk about the first one
I guess um
is the bored part which you would think
like we wouldn't be bored because this is a crazy job
but you but I don't even know what it means to be bored
I mean I do
but when you think about it
yes
and I saw a meme the other day and it was like
you know you're a real estate agent
when things get a little slow
you start thinking about a brokerage change
a logo change I'm all of a sudden gonna have a team now
like
you know I was like
oh my god because we can't stop
this literally is every agent out there
made me giggle but is that Borden
how do you know that
you're getting bored with real estate
or I'm assuming you've gotten
you've been bored with it
yeah right
it's interesting the two I think for me
boredom and burnout really go hand in hand
okay
I find that if I'm not feeling creative or
or building something like
I had another great conversation
we were there with another team leader
and she's like I'm a builder
and I was like ah
plus I really relate to that
and so if I'm not building
I'm not stretching then I can get super bored
with just all of it just like with the industry
I probably shouldn't say that out loud
I wasn't pausing
this is me learning to be more reflective
I'm looking at Mackenzie's face going
did she just say that
no and
um when I feel that I'm bored
there are two things is
I'm working on things
that I don't really love working on
but the time the moment in time
requires it to get to that next level
that's one where where I get bored
or I've learning where I'm
if I'm working on something
or working with somebody or helping someone
and my heart just not into it anymore
or my heart is into it more
yeah I just
I get bored with the same
outcome right
right and it's
and I'm a high ass and I love if I do this
and this will happen
right but the more that I've Learned to take chances
and to put myself out there
I get bored
I can't believe I'm gonna say this out loud
I'm getting bored with
sometimes the conversations of those not
yes cause I've seen
I don't know if I'm articulating that well
but example I have for you
OK so Mackenzie is one that literally
she'll walk through fire with you as an agent
she will drag you into transactions
whether you want it or not
but here recently
I feel like you have said
I cannot want this more
than what someone else is willing to do for themselves
and I think you're coming to some of this conclusion of
I can literally do almost everything for someone
and it's just they're just
not willing to take it across the finish line so
so I think you get bored of saying the same just
I'm just like what the fuck
like pick up the phone
like I don't know what to tell you like
and then someone told me that really
my job title is chief repeating officer
I'm like well
but how many times do I have that
I don't like that's not the job I signed up for
no it is not
and then you turn 50 on top of that
and then I just get annoyed much quicker
yeah I know
so I have to talk about stuff menopause self reflection
am I bored because I'm just where I am in my life
or so the board cause I'm finding myself
and I shouldn't be saying this to Pam
team owner extraordinary
I procrastinate when I'm bored
and I'm not a procrastinator
I think that's I same
I do the same
I perform so much better when I'm like
balls to the wall like busy
yeah like
that stresses me out that's a whole yeah
that is a problem
just for the record extreme example
correct but
but now I get that yeah
I don't know so I
when I find myself so
you know asking if an agent's listening to this
and they're like am I bored
am I broke or am I burnt out
so for me I know that I'm bored
when I procrastinate on things that I would
just'cause I'm somebody who's like
just get it done so it's not on my
I just rather get it done
whether I like to do it or not
I I'm too type a
and I'm too disciplined to not do it
even if I don't wanna do it
I don't have that issue yeah
but the procrastination
and then I get better that I'm doing it
when I start doing it and so that's my say OK
why am I bored
and a lot of times when it used to be well
it's because of something else or someone else
but no
maybe I need to flip how I'm thinking about something
flip how I'm having a conversation with someone
I need to hear it differently
or maybe
it's time for them to hear from somebody different
yeah going back on a previous episode
where if someone used to have a different opinion
or a different way of helping an agent
than what I would I would like
spiral like oh my gosh
who am I to be giving advice
who am I to be telling somebody
you know how to make them their
their business better you know
so I just really try to to look into that a little bit
but that's how I know I'm bored is when I
when I procrastinate on topics
yeah I think
I'm not nearly as productive when I'm bored too
I can see it just in my output
same not having the zest for like
whipping through the to do list like I normally would
and I have realized that
there's a creative piece to all of this
that I need as well
but um
yeah it'll
it'll push me to do a new activity right yeah
alright broke
you wanna talk about broke
do broke or burnout burnout
okay
apparently we're not talking about being broke
I don't know I felt aggressive
hahaha
I'm sorry I have two kids in college right now
she's thinking about my fucking people hahaha
I'm in my college tuition era right now
no let's talk about bro
no we don't have to
no no
for real it's
I mean that's the
that's why we're doing all this stuff right
we are so that we're not broke
we're
we are gainfully employed and yeah
because if you're making money
then maybe you're not
you're less burnout and all the things
I think it is a byproduct
was the reason why I paused
I think the broke piece is a
is a byproduct of the you know
burnout burnout and maybe bored too
well that
let's talk about the let's flip it
we can do that right
so um
we talked about when we know we're bored
right the procrastination
so when does it go from I'm bored to like
I'm just burnt out I'm
I'm procrastinating cause I just have nothing
yeah you know left to give
I think some of it is on
continually doing the things that don't give you joy
for a long period of time
and there's sections of anybody's job that
you know you just gotta plow through
like it doesn't give you joy
but it's it's the nature of the beast
you have to do it
but there is a time there where
I think it's just energy spent spent spent
spent without any joy given back
and again that's what's
for me it's the creativity piece
which I think is why I like to build
because it makes me think differently
and then I'm like oh
what about this and that can give me additional joy
which can be the payoff for all the extra work
so I have to flip my mind a little bit
to find something creative to get me out of boredom
which also can help get me out of burnout
but that's for me
I find when I'm burnt out
the difference between is
because
I don't have a clear direction of where I'm going
and what I'm doing
that's really good
cause I've been
for the record I'm not burnt out at the moment
yeah but
and I think trying to not
cause I was burnt out probably end of last year
maybe a little bit have to go just
and when we were moving no
we were yeah
we're moving there was a lot going on
and so I had some time over the holidays um
just really think about that
and I think I was creeping into burnout
but I also didn't
there wasn't clarity on where I really
where I wanted to spend my time and my growth
yes for me
my role what we do here
Capital Coast
all that stuff yes
there's also another piece of me
that's not capital to coast it
it is about capital to coast
it's about agents it's about community
and really finding that time
to be able to explore that part of it
but there just isn't enough time right now
because we're in growth mode
yeah and so when I just feel a lack of clarity of
as long as I have you know
we're gonna go back everyone's like
what's your why and for me
it's like I have to have the why
it's just it I have to believe in it
mm hmm and if that's the right word
and I have to want to be a part
feel like I'm a part of it
yeah I don't have to be in charge of it
I don't have to be a leader of it
just a part of it yeah
and um
so I'm really trying to
when I feel that if I'm doing too many things
or trying to put myself out there'cause I find myself
if I put myself out there and doing too many things
when am I feeling burnt out
when I'm not cause I can do a lot and I
I will always do a lot it's just
who is how I'm wired
I don't know how to not to do a lot
yeah and I'm in a season of a life where I can
because I don't have big little kids at home
and a husband who's supportive
and just you know um
I don't know but I've really been thinking about
not cause I'm in it but just
it's helping me to
to not get into it again and just it again
and just
that's kind of
I think what I've been thinking about a lot with the
with the burnout cause I think we can say it
but then I don't wanna get there again
I don't either and I
a couple years ago yeah
I went through a real phase of
just being really burnt out
and I would have feared that I wasn't gonna be able
to get out of it and I think commonly
we don't realize it till we're like
right in the middle of I mean hell
it feels like almost like a mental breakdown
like it feels super heavy
um
I mean there was a lot of heavy stuff with
not just Capital Coast
but some adjacent things last year too
that was just weighing on personal professional
all things right
so um
but I agree with you on the clarity piece
because I feel like when we got super clear on
we're going independent
and
I think me working with my coach has helped me a lot
he's been instrumental
which I just rescheduled with him
so this is very important
but he has helped me identify
the things that are really important
and helped give clarity
and I think through clarity helps develop a plan
you know to kind of move forward
so I agree with you
there's an energy shift there when you feel like
well maybe we could do this
maybe we could do that
that indecision piece with any of it is
and you bringing up somebody with your coach
who he's like a third party
yes right
like so what I love about that for you
is that he's third party cause the other part of
when I also know that I'm feeling burnt out
is when I have a lot of voices
telling me what I should be doing
I got a lot of that going on last year yeah
coming from different places
personally and professionally
like this is what you should do
but you're really good at this
and so you go back to the imposter syndrome
well they must know me better
I'm like nobody knows me better than me right
taking that minute to take a beat and say
no one's here no one's around you
you can say whatever you want to say
say it out loud what do you want to do Mackenzie
that's the question
I journaled probably every day for a few weeks
is what do you really want to do
write it down no one's gonna read it
yeah what do you really wanna do
and I get burnt out when I hear what other people think
that I should be doing
the people pleaser in me wants to please them
and wants to do that really
really well and then I get burnt out
so I don't want agents to want to please us
cause I want them to want to do it for them
so I'm trying to be very cognizant of that yeah
I had an observation with an agent yesterday
I'm trying not to stip who it is
it's okay
I already called out Charles in the last episode
sorry Charles
we love you but I met a spouse
and felt a tinge of
should
hmm you know what I mean
so you're right these external factors there too like
I mean they say all the time like
the five people you choose to spend your time with
you know choose them wisely
um and then sometimes you have friends and family
which I don't think
they're coming at it from a bad point of view
they they love you
they want to protect you
and they certainly have their own perspective
um but at the same time that negativity
I don't know it
it's it
it is definitely a factor in all this
right
well especially when you respect and love that person
who's in your is in your life
and so if they're in your life
and they're your top five people
then you clearly will most of the time
want them in there you know
and so you take to heart
your heart your head
whatever they're saying and you
you internalize that and that then
becomes a basis of decisions that you make
yeah so you're making decisions for somebody else
not you
cause something that you know
my therapist yes
I have a therapist for seven years
everyone's very happy that I have a therapist
that's a good thing it's a good thing
so that's my third party person right
um but talking about
you know talking with her
and just talking about just these expectations that are
that are put on us and
cause she recognized the burnout before I even did
mm hmm she was like
she was like you're just doing too much
like why always do too much
so why why is this any different
yeah this is just
this is where I am this is
it's never but it's
it was what the things were that were the too much
like the it was the stacking it
but you know
I don't know cause I can't
we're not that close yet
to give you all my dirty laundry
but we'll get there maybe episode 700
that's what I was talking about exactly
let me tell you let me tell you my real vibe check
anyway I digress
but going back to to that burnout
it was where it was heavy
big decisions big things
and there was it was all
they were being thrust upon you in some ways
correct and I really could not weed out
what was the right thing
I could not answer the question
the more I ask myself the question
what do you really want
the more frustrated I got because I couldn't answer it
yeah
and so that that burnout part
and so again I just
and I don't know
that they were going back to what my therapist was
reminded me and it's a great
it's so she's always in the back of my head
is that they're coming to you with their opinion
with their baggage mm hmm
and and what their life experiences are whatever
correct yeah
so I really the people that are closest to me
they're coming to me with their
opinions and what they think I should do
it's from their fears yeah
and so are those my same fears
so that's the question I ask if I know their fear is
is that my fear is that not my fear
that's been very helpful
so I don't get frustrated with them
I don't get angry with them
I just you know
where do I think they're coming from
and then being like yep
nope that's
that's not where I am so we're good
so then I can easy it or not completely
but yeah just say thank you and I'm gonna do this
and I'm like cause what's hard for me is I say nope
I'm still doing this and if it doesn't work
I fail then I
that's really hard for me
so it's the point like
thank you great idea
no and I'm gonna do this
and oops that didn't work
you feel like you can tuck your tail a little bit
correct maybe they were right right
so it validates that fear
but if I didn't do that and feel there
that I wouldn't have done the next thing
yeah 100%
it's hard to see
Lord don't like to fail but yeah
getting better at it
I don't know if that's a good thing to have
but what
honestly it kind of ties into some of that
imposter syndrome that we've talked before too right
all this fear based kind of thing as well
so it all starts to tie in a little bit more
so then we're bored we're burnt out
so where does that broke come into all of that
again it is the byproduct of both of those
I think I think if you're bored
you're probably not working at your highest capacity
you're just you're not
we get lazy when we're bored
you ever been to a restaurant that was like
so incredibly slammed but it was a good experience
it's super efficient and then
you walk into a place
where there's everybody standing around
you're like Jesus Christ
why is this taking twice as long
the service is shittier you know
but that's life right
that's how we all kind of operate there too
so yeah
getting out of that boredom piece
if I feel that broke
I start asking myself
I think it can be a habit for people to start to
then blame external factors
oh god yes yes
that is not me I'm perfect
exactly
which this whole podcast about me not being perfect
so obviously I can say that
yeah
cause it's harder to get out of that broke feeling
or am I really broke I just
you know it's
I'm gonna get a little woo woo on you
it's just being in the moment and just
I am where I am I can handle these actionable steps
I can control the controllables
and going into that faith of the work will come
the opportunity will come
it'll come right now
you have to do something
I'm not saying just sit there and pray and
if you were that person thank god
good for you cause you know just
and if it works for you exactly
double thank god for you exactly however
so that broke piece cause then you get into that rut
and then you get into blaming people
market situations life is self fulfilling prophecy
correct and then that's hard to get out of
and that's when people think they want to make a change
of a brokers
that's when people think they want to do that and
you know change
change the logo go independent
I'm just kidding that's not why we're going independent
but then you want to reflect on that
so you're very good
when an agent came to us and talking about
even if they didn't label it broke burnout
what was the other one bored
I already forgot to be she's bored with the topic today
oh my gosh but I'm not
that's so funny okay
was that well
what do you think a brokerage change will do for you
like so getting better at asking those questions
like really identifying you know
or how will it be different here
what were you looking for over there
you know if you're interviewing
well that wasn't what I thought it was gonna be
what were you looking for it to be
yeah you know um
so I don't know
I'm not bored of the topic hahaha
so what about you for broke
yeah I mean
like
there's there's very time
I have had to learn
how to be okay with some UPS and downs
um
with just the real estate industry and all the things
um I think I have more faith now
through experience
experience that if I'm doing all the things
that I'm less likely to be broke
um but again
I just I think broke is a byproduct of the other two
so I can control my money
through my mindset and my actions
and try not to stay bored or burn out
but it
it does require to sit down and realize where you are
how you're feeling why you're feeling
I don't burnout is one of those things
like true burnout
it's not a quick fix
it's not a let me just snap my finger and be out of it
and it will impact your wallet if you're not careful
that indecision that lack of
that lack of plan that all of it direction
will negatively impact your dollar every single time
so talking to agents
I think the part we can control is the plan
and the clarity
and that's the reason why we ask the questions right
to kind of understand where they are
and to help themselves discover where they've been
where they need to go and what they need
and if we can help them develop a plan
that is more clear for them
then typically that will generate more income also
and I am a fan sometimes it
sometimes you do need a little bit of change
that could be a positive thing
to help get you out of a little bit of burnout
not to say go change everything all the time
cause I think that's can be lazy too
but there is a place for that
if you're
if you're stuck and you're stagnant and you are bored
broken burn out
hell you gotta do something
and maybe maybe a change is really the
the instigator to get that
that you know
momentum going in the other direction
this is a good one I don't know
got me all my feels
I know this one's a deep one
it's I again
we both experienced burnout
I would not wish it on anybody
because you do feel a little helpless
it's it's a sad
it's a sad moment especially when
you know we want to talk some about maybe social media
and the impact that can have
is when everybody else feels like your life is great
and your business is good and all
and you're like fuck
I mean I'm
I'm at home really just
you know struggling with this
like on like
what's next where to go
how to build how do I get out of this
like I'm tired
I'm just I'm tired I'm exhausted
and so um
that the social media is not helpful
with that too it just
I don't yeah
it is not so talked about bored
burn out broke
did not forget so I'm not bored
I will not forget this time
agent's listening
I would be shocked if one thing we said did not just
you know have somebody think yeah
because and it's okay if it hasn't
but you know
so
what is your one thing that you would say to an agent
who's listening to this episode
that they could take to maybe help them
if there were any of or all of the three BS
so what do you think it's gonna take
to get you out of the situation
like for reals
like I can give you one thing
but it's different for everybody right
is it turning off the noise
is getting a plan is it change
is it energy what is the fucking thing
that's gonna make a difference
to change your life like
today or tomorrow
cause living like that in burnout mode and broke
I mean that's
I mean I hate to even utter it
all that sounds just incredibly negative
so stop bitching about it
stop reflecting on it all the time
like for such a long period of time
like Jesus Christ lady
figure out something to go you know
this is the tough love that Pamela gives us yes
it is but sometimes
maybe talking to somebody and being honest about it
like I'm fortunate that you and I have
very candid conversations with each other
when we're feeling certain way
and um
if you don't have that find a coach
find a therapist find somebody to talk to about it
I mean it's
it's true mental health absolutely
and I think
what I would say to anyone listening to this
don't forget to like and subscribe
this is some really good stuff
and Deborah behind
is very excited that I remember to do that
see I didn't forget
I'm not bored just kidding um
but now I forgot what I was gonna say
I did not
if you're listening to this feeling
one or all of them
what helped me was to stop sharing how I was feeling
because people just for a hot minute
because people want to fix
people want to help that's true too yeah
so just being with my feelings or
you know a long enough to first answer
to first answer the question for myself
because I'm a sharer I'm an over sharer
you know I always wonder what other people think
but not but to the detriment of that
what they think should Trump what I think and want
right so when I was
when I went inward for a hot minute
and was writing out all those questions
and just kept writing and kept writing
getting frustrated and getting frustrated
and just kept writing and writing and writing
am I encourage you to do that for any three of the
the feelings that you
and it's um you might not like what you
what you write down and that's a whole another
but I would really encourage you
just to go in there for just a hot minute
don't stay there
cause I don't know what your brain looks like inside
that ain't the history
I'm not I'm not gonna say that forever
but that really help if you're somebody who
a lot of external factors can
can um
help you make decisions
that maybe aren't the right ones for you
yeah I think that's
I think that's incredibly great advice journaling is
it's helped me at different points of my life too
just writing things down you're writing
being honest with yourself
asking some really hard questions
and really being truthful with yourself
a side note I was organizing my home office
and a lot of my old journals came out and I was like
heaven forbid something should happen to me and you
Mike like the top five people closest to you like
oh my word
like different journals in different parts of my life
I sometimes I just wanna like alright
I wrote that out and then get rid of it
so some I've kept back but I was just like
Lord have mercy it's just been fascinating
so part of me is like
I think it might be time to purge the journals
I don't know oh god
there's nothing like like better
I'd confess but I don't know
I always think I always think about that exactly
I was just like I don't know
but food for thought I might be no one
go to my dumpster at my calendar
grab my journals learn all my things
but I might be purging
my journals because I got some crazy thoughts in there
hahaha
Pam it is time for our weekly vibe check
and mine is
is not cheeky or saucy
I feel like my last few vibe checks have been like
this is my place to tell you how I'm really feeling
I have my vibe check was last night
we happened to have our past client
our client appreciation event
we did it at a baseball during balls
we live in Raleigh North Carolina
whoever are listening to this and man
we've got some incredible agents on our team
we do we do and
what fun talking to our clients in a space
just that was incredible
I just had a sense of just gratitude
driving home from the baseball game last night
of the we talked about life with the agents on our team
last night we didn't talk about real estate or I didn't
it was just about cause they brought their kids
or they didn't have their kids there or what I
it was just we got cute kids on our team
by the way I mean
we do produce some gorgeous children
so we got to meet their children
so I got to watch agents as moms
which can tell you a lot too
sure can and then just hopping to the different um
the clients were able to come last night
I'm just talking with them
and they were just so grateful and thankful
and
I don't know my vibe is just
we talk about we're doing this for the community
but I am so incredibly proud of who
and looking at talking about social media being
you know can be a negative place
but watching agents on our team
post about how proud they are to be on our team
is what I saw last night
I don't know heard that
and also some of the clients too going
you guys do this for your
and that felt really good too
cause it felt exceptional
felt different and yeah
I think it does project
kind of the vibe we wanna have with
we might be broke after it
but yeah
I haven't seen the last Bill on that
we'll see
totally kidding it was worth it
it was totally worth it whatever it was
I don't know I just had a moment again
you know I'm
I'm very I'm not good at sitting what we've created
I'm always looking for the next best thing
not the next best thing okay
what's the next thing you know
I'm not good at sitting in what we've accomplished
right and the weather I
we could not have had that
it was the one day of the last 12 days
that was like
not 800 degrees and there was a breeze
it was perfect it was a perfect sky
it was gorgeous sunset but my vibe check is
and then very quickly this morning
my vibe check changed but we got corrected with
we got corrected very quickly
with the current transaction
but driving home saying nope
absolutely not let me just take in a moment
sit in that moment and
and just overall yeah
we have an amazing group of people around us
that have chosen to align with us
either to help us buy or sell or
or to to
to build their business with us
and so I love that that's my vibe
I love the vibe and mine is adjacent um
unfortunately it's good from bad
so
um we've had
again a couple transactions
been a little little dicey
but that's a great word
but we you know
one in particular closed this week
and it's it was delayed
and there was just a lot going on
and to see how an agent
Jessica I'm just gonna say it
I love to watch her growth
and how she has really stepped into like
such a beautiful place of
talk about just pure leadership right
of how to remain calm like
I just the amount of growth I've seen in her um
and then how the agents have handled it in like
such a professional way even when things have not been
necessarily positive um
and I think we should take ownership of like
I think that's a a direct reflection of
kind of
how we want to present our company and ourselves
and um so two moments of
of pride um
this week too
maybe started off on a negative that we had the the
the transaction we had to deal with to begin with
but that's how you learn
that's how you grow through some sometimes tough spots
you learn what you're made of
and Jessica's amazing
well I mean
a lot of our team is amazing
but just calling her out this week has just been
it's been a lot she's
she's done a great job
can I share with you
where I think that you've grown a little bit
from my perspective oh
and okay
no it just made me
because you have called yourself
I'm not calling her this she
you called yourself self described
you know I have to do it myself
giving up control yeah
control driver yes
you're all you are all of those things
whether it's I don't know how it's feeling
I don't know if it feels good for you or not
you are letting us do those things
and not feeling that you have to do it
yes hahaha
I told you I didn't know how it was making you feel
no I am
cause I think people feel like I've done
like I'm a control freak for a certain reason
and I think it's
I'm a control freak for a different reason
like it's not that
I don't feel like other people
are capable of doing the job better than me
I guess I've always felt like
I'm definitely not the right person
a good portion of a lot of this stuff
but I think just due to my personality
like I just I don't want to ask
or put something on someone else to do things
until I feel like they want the ownership
to take it on themselves I'd rather just
I'd rather just not add the burden to them
hm
so watching Jessica kind of
I mean cause I definitely in the beginning was like
holy shit this could be a whole real show
and so I monitored it and then watched her
and she took the reins she wanted ownership of that
and so I'm like who I'm
I'm only gonna muck it up to kind of get in the middle
so take it girl you got this
go she's shown the amount of confidence
that she's had in herself
that allowed me to go fuck it
get out she's got it
she'll reach out to me if she doesn't anytime
100% 100%
I like that yeah
me too OK
cause I will say it does feel good
I'm like she's
she's got it and she not only does she got it
she wanted it
and she's proud of herself
yes yes OK
alright you ready
for a little bit of rapid fire questions no
go
yeah for some reason
I mean I've got my glasses on
I got my necklace you feel like you're like
I'm ready
just to throw this out there and see what you're like
I know cause I don't know the answers
the answers are getting a little nervous
I think they're good okay
good questions okay
um what's the fastest way to lose momentum
wow I'm right
that's good I have answers
I just what's
the fastest way to lose momentum
is to get distracted by external forces
I think that's a great answer
that's a good one yeah
it's not what
one down four to go
that's really good
what creates burnout fastest in real estate
listening to other people's voices before your own
okay
I'm seeing some common things here
this one had a note here of lack of boundaries
which is very similar to what you just said
but that just made me think that's a
that's a more general concept there too
of just lack of boundaries in life
like what people are saying time
or
that other people's
mmm hmm
this is becoming more rapid fire
about getting on my getting on my feels but
the boundaries
of what they're dealing with and going through
is more important than
maybe what I needed to do in that time and space
yeah I don't know right yeah
and then I go to that burnout
but yes
what's one thing agents avoid too much
and this one let's get it
what's one thing agents avoid too much
just doing the damn thing
yeah whatever that thing is
we everyone knows what it is
yeah we all do
it's eating the frog whatever that frog is for you
but you know what you gotta do you just gotta do it
the note here too
and I love this you will too
having real conversations
hmm
and the amount of bullshit conversations
people have with themselves
I think like
they really truly
all of this stuff is just not sitting down enough
normally processing how you're feeling
why you're feeling what's the deep
dark stuff going on with you that's holding you back
yeah real conversations with clients
all of it again
I think it is a byproduct of just social media
curating this perfect version of the world
that's just not perfect not existent
what's a sign an agent is bored
lack of engagement hmm
mm hmm
and whatever
that's good too
mm hmm just engagement
mm hmm yeah
we can usually tell something's off
you stop showing up to meetings
we just see you a little bit less
it's a little bit of a disconnect there
yeah so maybe they're bored
or they're feeling something else
you know sometimes
and I try not to make the Assumption
I used to I know
assume
and sometimes it just like yeah
I'm really going through a spell right now
and being that space to
to let them go through that spell
but not too long yeah
thank you for asking the question right
what's going on what's up
yep my Spidey sense goes off
I'm feeling something
what's the best reset when business builds off
to go back to my last 90 days
to see what all my accomplishments are more again
I've done more than I think
that I give myself credit for
almost always yeah
and then if I don't
that's when I know that I'm burnt out
because that I procrastinated
I haven't done anything right
going back full circle but when I feel off
I go I have a board at home um
I've got three separate goals for the year
and you can say I'm behind in everything
but I go back to my board and I like hmm
you're just behind in one
you're actually ahead in this one right
and so I I have to remind myself of the accomplishments
it's a positive reinforcement
well it is
but it's that evidence going back
it's not just me blowing smoke up my own ass
it's no
I've already
I have already closed these amount of deals
we have grown the team to this
and this is what you know
so yeah
that's great hundred percent
the final note here just says
go back to basics hmm
which I think is a good one too
but exactly to your point
going back to what's worked in the past
the evidence what it's shown
goes back to clarity hundred percent
the basics yeah
you say all the time we are making this too difficult
we make things more harder than they need to be
and so we do that
alright Pam
we've had this one on the
in the docket for a while
this the broke
the burnout yeah
and bored
hahaha
I do not know I'm bored
she's never bored so it just never comes to mind
exactly
um
so thank you for this this one got
I don't know deeper than I thought it was going to be
well I think it might have been the reason
why we were holding off on it a little bit too
it's like those are three
like really deep topics to kind of pull together
in some ways yeah
so hopefully Pam and I aren't the only ones
and the agent that we spoke to feeling bored
broke or burnt out so if this resonated with you
if you're looking to hear all the genius things
that Pam and I have to to say and to think
we would love for you to subscribe like this
and put in the comments
what do you want us to talk about
we're just coming from what
our life experiences as moms
as entrepreneurs
as real estate agents and so if you
that's something that you want us to talk about
cause clearly we pretty much will talk about
and share anything pretty much
I don't think there's really much that's off topic
but I would love to hear you know
just some things that people are grappling with
and so we can just put our spin on it and
continue to learn as we go absolutely
