[SPEAKER_07]: Hi everybody, sorry for the delay is my fault.

[SPEAKER_07]: You're right, whoever said short time or syndrome.

[SPEAKER_07]: Short time or syndrome, that's me.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's me, that's me, Mr. Short now.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, maybe it is, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_06]: Maybe my, maybe my, what I'm curious about is looking forward to coming in today.

[SPEAKER_07]: I got a lot of great stuff to talk about today.

[SPEAKER_04]: Why do we happy joyous stuff?

[SPEAKER_04]: We always enjoy Monday's shows because we haven't been together in a while, but,

[SPEAKER_04]: I have to ask, and if you want me to show up, you just say it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Where did the, oh, no, go ahead.

[SPEAKER_04]: Where did the story about the power outage fit in?

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I got caught by dressed like this.

[SPEAKER_07]: How many times you guys talk over the weekend now?

[SPEAKER_05]: We three or four or five times three four times.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I And drive you across for the fun.

[SPEAKER_07]: Josh Josh used to talk to me that many times on the weekend at the beginning when he first was right now No, he's on to his next new thing.

[SPEAKER_07]: He's talking to you.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's so I didn't know that that you know the last time I talked to Josh was Wednesday of last week

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but I mean, we established it and there was actually a graphic on Facebook.

[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see, when did that come out this morning?

[SPEAKER_07]: See, I didn't see it.

[SPEAKER_07]: So I was running around.

[SPEAKER_04]: And you know what, we've all been late once in a while and that's no big deal, but I'm just trying to manage my schedule.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's what I'm trying to do.

[SPEAKER_04]: But what about the power out of it?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I didn't get it.

[SPEAKER_07]: I just made no sense because it was caught.

[SPEAKER_07]: said you haven't yet in equipment trouble and I said uh... power out of you i lied and then i came on with with you guys and i said i was lying and with it was a very short lived life because i got caught by it with my pants down i was completely caught off guard i didn't realize it was fucking three o'clock and that was as usual for a clock but what it's going to be the right to tell us that's not yes

[SPEAKER_07]: What yeah, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know sense.

[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know why.

[SPEAKER_07]: Why I don't lie by Michael Marra because I can't.

[SPEAKER_07]: My wife could have told you that a lot.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'll go.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I'm not good at it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I would buy that book.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not good at lying.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, we all.

[SPEAKER_05]: We also that don't Wednesday show last week Yeah, what did I do?

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's go with the people can prowling prowling into your studio, and you were trying to hide the fact Oh, you had ice cream bars in cereal hit guess what what God Yeah, who discovered the I car lat asked

[SPEAKER_07]: and she gets whatever she wants and on her birthday.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: I can't.

[SPEAKER_06]: And she said, do you have cereal?

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Where is it?

[SPEAKER_07]: Since in the office.

[SPEAKER_07]: And now it's gone for her.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no, this wasn't too much.

[SPEAKER_07]: She's you.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, she wanted cereal.

[SPEAKER_07]: She wanted cereal.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's either gone in the trash or she has now re-hidden it in a place where, you know, she can find it.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, this is the concern people have with NA meetings that you just go and meet up into a neighbor's.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and what is she, you know what she hasn't found them what she hasn't found my ice cream Whereas my mom is now referring to them clearly my the mouse sickles Sickles you're right that she's gonna think they're mice so they're safe Since we're talking about food yeah

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm running errands today and Mrs. Omar's birthday is at the end of the week.

[SPEAKER_07]: What is that you or me or what?

[SPEAKER_07]: That's me.

[SPEAKER_07]: The landscape has showed up.

[SPEAKER_05]: Perfect.

[SPEAKER_05]: Not any of my yards.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's right.

[SPEAKER_07]: Way to start today, early boys.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, just rolled out of bed and headed on over to Josh's place.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, anyway.

[SPEAKER_07]: Excuse me.

[SPEAKER_07]: All right, here, let me, this is what I'm drinking.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's why I'm, I'm all completely erected.

[SPEAKER_04]: Take a breath.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's good.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, Pepsi.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, so here we go.

[SPEAKER_07]: I used to think that as far as traveling, the most difficult food to manage, if you were trying to be somewhere, was the Burger King Burger.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's a sloppy burger.

[SPEAKER_07]: The Burger King Burger very almost impossible to eat when you're in transit, especially if you're being pursued by Seagulls.

[SPEAKER_07]: And it was, I don't get it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_04]: I should have said your time to feed him.

[SPEAKER_04]: I basis or even so.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was a call back to when I had that moment, but a week call back because it's got to be more obvious.

[SPEAKER_07]: You're right.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_07]: I used to think that the water was the the harder thing to deal with.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's, I've discovered now there.

[SPEAKER_07]: I went through the drive through after I went out.

[SPEAKER_07]: She's not listening.

[SPEAKER_07]: Birthday shopping for Carla.

[SPEAKER_04]: Are you going to get her a TV?

[SPEAKER_07]: No.

[SPEAKER_07]: Now I can get anything for the anniversary either.

[SPEAKER_04]: You didn't get her anything or she didn't get you anything or I got her card.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's nice.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Um, but I said, I'll, yeah, the bell.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'll go through the bell and I will get the small, uh, tacos.

[SPEAKER_07]: The three small tacos.

[SPEAKER_07]: And hard.

[SPEAKER_07]: Soft.

[SPEAKER_07]: And one of the, if not two, one, the first one had a ruptured colon, right in my fucking hand, and I am telling you, I, you know, I was put together, prior to the show, I was ready to go, even though you don't see me full body, I've got a nice shirt on and very

[SPEAKER_07]: I was show ready when I went out to run my errands.

[SPEAKER_07]: So I looked together.

[SPEAKER_04]: Mass you questioned or actually issue a statement to all the Taco Bell people within the sound of my voice, whether you be an owner or a worker.

[SPEAKER_04]: I understand that you're owned by PepsiCo and young foods.

[SPEAKER_04]: You're already operating at a strong disadvantage.

[SPEAKER_04]: But when you put something say sour cream in a taco,

[SPEAKER_04]: Spread it out.

[SPEAKER_04]: You don't want a dollop of sour cream in one place.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and that's what happens to you I couldn't they don't they don't but they should yeah, I look down on my lap.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I went how does

[SPEAKER_07]: My big mistake, they do this little, you know, what's the, what's the, what's the Japanese paper folding that they are?

[SPEAKER_07]: They do this little origami bullshit where they, they place sick place the taco in the paper.

[SPEAKER_07]: And it has the little fold at the end.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's like a little pocket where it sits.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, by the way, where it sits and is glued to the paper because the paper is not proper for, for that vehicle.

[SPEAKER_04]: The waxed paper half envelope is designed for all of the cheese to fall out.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is the design of it.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: And the little slivers of cheese, but you, but in and there was it was usually the taco meat is of a consistency where it's okay, just moist enough to eat it.

[SPEAKER_07]: This was watered down.

[SPEAKER_07]: What taco me?

[SPEAKER_07]: This is a diarrhea taco.

[SPEAKER_04]: You got beef and not like a steak taco, not the steak so often.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's the main thing.

[SPEAKER_05]: You have to upgrade that beef every time.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you don't want that.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, you mean that the ground beef?

[SPEAKER_07]: I should upgrade it.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and what is it?

[SPEAKER_07]: It's probably, if you get a regular Taco Bell person, so I don't know.

[SPEAKER_04]: Steaks off taco is probably now, what are they like $14 each because it got steak in it?

[SPEAKER_07]: I've had like the three I had was like eight bucks.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's about right.

[SPEAKER_07]: I had an eight dollar lunch.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and you spent it was worth about two dollars.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, if that.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, tiny little taco shell soft tacos.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, there was not one you go up a lettuce dollar cheese.

[SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't long ago that you could go to Taco Bell and pick anything you wanted from the menu until you got tired and your total would never exceed eleven dollars ever You could do it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't frequent the bell, but I've always been happy with it when we go.

[SPEAKER_07]: But I had forgotten that this is a process.

[SPEAKER_07]: And it was...

[SPEAKER_07]: I was his angry as I can be angry at food, you know, ejaculating all over me, the, you know, and by the way, nothing stains like taco meat stains.

[SPEAKER_04]: I know because you got in the fat and every fat and tomatoes and a cumin and maybe even some smoked paprika, all of these are red things, get right on your shirt.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, it's still there and you know what and I use my my go to my Costco Kirkland baby wipe, which is usually the stain the feeder and then the last time I did the last time I have one of these problems like it's shit I mean all the time.

[SPEAKER_07]: I mean I'm just of slob and and the last time I used the baby wipes with the tide to go stick that had been sitting in the car for three months and the to go in and when I took the lid off it

[SPEAKER_07]: It's smell like a corpse's crotch when I, when I, it was no, I did not, I Simmons Blazers, what a terrible Simmons Blazers.

[SPEAKER_07]: What does that mean?

[SPEAKER_07]: Explain that.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't understand.

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe he's a man who sells men'sware.

[SPEAKER_07]: Layed to the party to get into an altercation in the parking lot.

[SPEAKER_07]: No.

[SPEAKER_07]: But my wife, you know, who works her ass off to support me in the manner I'd like to become a custom.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I should eat better, but I'm not.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm adjusting to it, you know, I really, and really how tough is it to get some ground beef and some taco seasoning and just put it in a bowl in the refrigerator and heat it up on a taco shell.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's the same thing I could do.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's what I should have done.

[SPEAKER_04]: I often times will have just taco, Mike, I'll have working taco meat in my refrigerator to make a taco salad.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's one of the easiest go-tos.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it's a great thing to do.

[SPEAKER_07]: All right, Simmons plays just explain his last name as Simmons and Portland Trailblazers.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'll change it for you.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think that's, you know what?

[SPEAKER_04]: I'd like to see that helpful attitude with more of us.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_07]: That is it.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's nice.

[SPEAKER_04]: We don't.

[SPEAKER_04]: We have pressure going on.

[SPEAKER_07]: You go to the right Hernandez.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, so it look it's it that's how that a started, but I am coming in here momentarily frustrated of coming off a what I would describe as a 10 weekend and you know I don't have 10 weekend.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, you don't.

[SPEAKER_07]: I never have a 10 week.

[SPEAKER_07]: I had a 10.

[SPEAKER_07]: weekend.

[SPEAKER_07]: We had a beautiful, beautiful weekend experience.

[SPEAKER_07]: We drove up to the Hamlet of Sarasota Florida, where there was a baseball tournament just about the best tournament I've ever seen, not for my son's individual achievement, but for his team.

[SPEAKER_04]: Did you stop by ringing brothers while you were in town?

[SPEAKER_07]: did not.

[SPEAKER_07]: We were actually, we kind of cruise through Sarasota proper and went even north of Sarasota, a little little town called Palmetto.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's, uh, is that where the bugs come from?

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, you know, I'm sure it's got lots of bugs.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: You know, and then there's another town that's with it.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's Ellenton Palmetto or something.

[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, it's like for someone who had a 10 weekend, you look very dissatisfied with geography.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, no, we the we stayed overnight Saturday night because we didn't have a game until noon on Saturday.

[SPEAKER_07]: So we were going to be late on Saturday and then it turned out late on Sunday as well because we won.

[SPEAKER_07]: But the the Hampton dog friendly in was 10 minutes from the ballpark, which is very convenient.

[SPEAKER_07]: And the price was right on the hotel and I could start at the game, but I could find I should probably finish with the game I should start with the fact that after the two wins on Saturday Michael and Carlin I were walking to the car and Michael's friend who's like six-eight Alex was going out for with his mom for sushi.

[SPEAKER_07]: They're staying in the same hotel We're in and they were going into good fish

[SPEAKER_07]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

[SPEAKER_04]: How's the weather up there?

[SPEAKER_07]: All right, so we're going, the Michael said, uh, we can I go out and it's you guys could be like together on your anniversary and then oh, he played that car, Alex is mom.

[SPEAKER_07]: is a sweetheart and she was up there because Alex is dad who's also an Alex is traveling.

[SPEAKER_07]: He was bummed that he could make it.

[SPEAKER_07]: He's got to go to a conference in Vegas where he does his work for his company at 5 o'clock in the morning and then his conference started at 8 a.m. Las Vegas time.

[SPEAKER_07]: I felt for the guy.

[SPEAKER_04]: Have you met this?

[SPEAKER_04]: Have you met Alex senior?

[SPEAKER_07]: One of my favorite dads.

[SPEAKER_04]: Is he also very tall or is the tall one from the mother?

[SPEAKER_07]: The tall comes from mom.

[SPEAKER_04]: I said mom is six and a half.

[SPEAKER_07]: Anyhow, they go out for sushi.

[SPEAKER_07]: We're free.

[SPEAKER_07]: Nice.

[SPEAKER_07]: We discovered a restaurant just on the fly, which is the way we planned it.

[SPEAKER_07]: We didn't make any reservations because you don't know when you're going to be done.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: With rain delays and lightning alerts.

[SPEAKER_07]: Gasp.

[SPEAKER_07]: Spill.

[SPEAKER_07]: All good things.

[SPEAKER_04]: Swallowing dinner back No, you're great and you love your life.

[SPEAKER_07]: Come on.

[SPEAKER_07]: You're like we go to this joint

[SPEAKER_07]: and it turned out to be a 10 restaurant experience and I never have those in them.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: They don't exist.

[SPEAKER_07]: What don't exist?

[SPEAKER_07]: Because to me, if you're going to charge over $25, $25, $30 for an entree, I'm not going to have a good time.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's why you need to go to the money there.

[SPEAKER_04]: You need to go to stake in egg words.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, you guessed it.

[SPEAKER_04]: What do you want 99?

[SPEAKER_07]: I am telling you.

[SPEAKER_04]: What genre of restaurant was it?

[SPEAKER_07]: And are you feel free to give us the name of it?

[SPEAKER_07]: Not at all.

[SPEAKER_07]: I am fine giving you the name.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was called or an iron kind of the seafood steak type of thing and man.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh man.

[SPEAKER_07]: So the waiter comes over Carly says she's in the mood for roast chicken, which is always wonderful because if you order roast chicken in any of these high-fluten restaurants, you're probably getting the price point that's the most favorable on the menu.

[SPEAKER_07]: Of course, chicken is still cheap.

[SPEAKER_07]: They're still cheap and the waiter came over and said, you know what, and it sounded good.

[SPEAKER_07]: The way it was described, said, that's my favorite item on the menu.

[SPEAKER_07]: And at that point, I switched my order.

[SPEAKER_07]: We both got the roast chicken and this chicken,

[SPEAKER_07]: Look, in my opinion, and great chefs might tell you this, a properly roasted or prepared chicken can be one of the greatest culinary experiences in the world.

[SPEAKER_07]: 100% but it's not easy to get it right.

[SPEAKER_07]: It is not easy.

[SPEAKER_04]: Was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was it an easy, was

[SPEAKER_07]: uh... and i am telling you they rost it and then they flash fry it before they bring it out to you are it all that is what was crisping the skin of the chicken and i and then they put it on a bed of taters and it had almost a thanks giving flavor to it was on

[SPEAKER_07]: be livable any other veggies for you uh... asparagus cuz i love to smell my p but that's one that you don't hate you don't hate that and the others he just knocks under the table that's right and honor of some for the chicken yeah why do i think it's that blazer's guy that changed his

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, because his name is now I love Michael Marra.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, of course that's him.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's all.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, Simmons.

[SPEAKER_07]: But anyway, it was great.

[SPEAKER_07]: And then they brought out a special dessert that we shared.

[SPEAKER_07]: We looked across in each other.

[SPEAKER_07]: Carla had a little Vino.

[SPEAKER_07]: I had a drink and Vino and it was just fan-tastic.

[SPEAKER_04]: What was the special dessert you know I have to have?

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, it was a, it was kind of a combo, carrot cake, but more like a spice cake with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

[SPEAKER_07]: And it had your fruit cake flavor to it, which was pretty special.

[SPEAKER_04]: Floves, cloves, and really, really good.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's a great flavor profile.

[SPEAKER_04]: And if you can get ice cream and caramel, it hits all the points.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was it was been I passed out after dinner.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm really responding to the comments that who passed out after that it was back to the room first.

[SPEAKER_07]: And then I found out they've got a chain that's located down here.

[SPEAKER_07]: So they've got another one down here.

[SPEAKER_05]: So we'll definitely go back not cheap, you know, but not crazy pricey but it wasn't cheap.

[SPEAKER_05]: Not pretty pretty.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah,

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, the anniversary is once a year, we can go, and then the rest of the weekend to see these kids play the game they played and to talk about a team of little guys that build each other up these 13 year olds man, oh man six nothing at the beginning they throw a six spot on them these little guys they're just so

[SPEAKER_07]: kind to each other and they build each other up there is team camaraderie, you know, you hear about baseball, right, right, shut up, non-sports guy.

[SPEAKER_07]: Anyway, the camaraderie they have and you hear about that with baseball teams in particular, Josh, where the chemistry will be so good between the kids because they're not the best athletes in the world, they're not.

[SPEAKER_07]: But they

[SPEAKER_07]: In such a way that to come back and walk off in the game and the championship, it was just so cool.

[SPEAKER_04]: How many games do you have to play this?

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry, Josh, what?

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, that commodity, I just screwed that word up.

[SPEAKER_07]: that bond in is the similar as theater yeah it is very much like I was gonna welcome you back into the conversation on that was that was terrific not only as a notion but all the presentations they all bond how many games did they have to play this weekend they were for no they had to they win they won two on a Saturday that got them a buy for Sunday morning okay so then they had to win two

[SPEAKER_07]: And that's the way those tournaments work.

[SPEAKER_07]: And it was just fun, fun, fun, fun, fun.

[SPEAKER_07]: And my kids have in trouble.

[SPEAKER_07]: My kids struggling at the plate.

[SPEAKER_07]: So he's got it in his head.

[SPEAKER_07]: And he made enough contact, took enough walks to make it work.

[SPEAKER_04]: But the team made him feel okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: And then to come home and see big blue, my football team went by the way, meantime, my Red Sox won.

[SPEAKER_07]: Otherworldly good, you know, I'm waiting for the other shooter drop.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh uh, uh uh, uh uh, uh uh, uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I mean, and just to see these kids battle back because, uh, you know, a lot of kids would uh, and the other, I don't want to dis the other team's parents because we were on that side.

[SPEAKER_07]: We didn't want to move.

[SPEAKER_07]: They changed dugouts for the second game on Sunday.

[SPEAKER_07]: I didn't, we didn't want to haul away at the tent.

[SPEAKER_07]: We got the little, the little wagon, got the chairs, got the cooler, blah, blah, blah, the whole, the whole thing.

[SPEAKER_07]: Didn't want to move to the other side.

[SPEAKER_07]: So we kind of were sitting in

[SPEAKER_07]: the enemy territory, but chatting with these parents, but you know Josh knows what I'm talking about when they have just a little of that cockiness, just a little of that.

[SPEAKER_07]: Sure.

[SPEAKER_07]: We're not used to losing vibe and that made it all the sweeter.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was going to say that kind of makes it better for the ride, doesn't it?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, they really did, and then yeah, it was, but the only negative is we took an asshole one and asshole two up with us.

[SPEAKER_07]: The dogs came on the the trip the dogs that are just not and it good at anything that's it.

[SPEAKER_04]: They need more camaraderie is what the dogs need.

[SPEAKER_05]: Were you gonna say Josh?

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, they both made it back.

[SPEAKER_05]: could have gotten back into an 11 if you only brought one back.

[SPEAKER_07]: And the we had a fan form.

[SPEAKER_07]: We had water form.

[SPEAKER_07]: They were in the shade.

[SPEAKER_07]: And when slow's pant because his tongue is deformed and too big for his head was was this.

[SPEAKER_04]: This literally that is all you heard the whole thing was it more and a heat pan or was also what I hate a stress pan I don't know.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't care.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, we took care of him.

[SPEAKER_07]: He's fine.

[SPEAKER_07]: You know, it was a heat pan and the other one wasn't doing it stubby wasn't doing it when it was doing that

[SPEAKER_07]: And then we have this really cool Ryobi fan like the big turbo fan that we use.

[SPEAKER_07]: I've talked about it before and one of the parents from the other team said, well, I guess your dog doesn't like that fan.

[SPEAKER_07]: That fan and Winslow had lifted his leg and peed right on the fucking fan.

[SPEAKER_07]: Because he sucks.

[SPEAKER_07]: He wanted to see what those ministers.

[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, he's going to say what the fan running, those jokes were, you know, hey, it's

[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I don't know what to do with him.

[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_07]: I do not know what he pisses on a diaper is probably going to be what we end up doing.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's a great idea.

[SPEAKER_07]: We're going to put him in a diaper.

[SPEAKER_05]: Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's fine.

[SPEAKER_07]: And then let him, you know what?

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to put him in a diaper.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to put him in a diaper and let him just have the run of the house.

[SPEAKER_05]: Why not just get a double Michael in there, too?

[SPEAKER_07]: No, no, no, no, put him back right on Michael as well.

[SPEAKER_04]: When he pees on the fan, do you think it is a gesture of him flexing his muscles as well?

[SPEAKER_04]: No, or is it just stupid?

[SPEAKER_07]: I just people who say that are the carnies rob, you know, this is true.

[SPEAKER_07]: The carnies that think they know what a dog is thinking.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Nobody knows what a dog is thinking.

[SPEAKER_07]: You don't see a structure and he pisses on it.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's what he does.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's like a fish going to a structure under water.

[SPEAKER_04]: The same kind of thing is the same way.

[SPEAKER_04]: God, he's stupid.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's such a stupid dog.

[SPEAKER_04]: We have one bag of mulch that we have not yet spread in the backyard.

[SPEAKER_04]: And he pisses on it.

[SPEAKER_04]: that like it's his job.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we've gotten it's not a big yard, but there's bushes and there's grass and there's every there's any of my the places to piss are multifulls.

[SPEAKER_07]: Multifulls.

[SPEAKER_04]: But always to the

[SPEAKER_07]: oh yeah I look I think that in the long run that might the diaper might be the solution I don't have I do not want to invest the money to you know try to break him of this habit when he could go back to it and uh that's the same thing and it's just getting to the point where you know he goes out does this business outside but then

[SPEAKER_07]: stubble overnight first thing in the morning go out and he'll stand in the middle of the yard and he'll pee on the grass and he'll pee and pee and pee wins law will go out and pee just a little.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, he's ready to mark it.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's like that's what he wants to do.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's wins law continue to mark things when he doesn't have any pee left.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I hate that.

[SPEAKER_07]: I do too hate.

[SPEAKER_07]: I do too.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's like their thing that they want to do.

[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, I even Simmons calm down too much of you too much of you today.

[SPEAKER_07]: All right.

[SPEAKER_07]: too much of you, but he's too many, it's just too many.

[SPEAKER_07]: And then for the New York Giants last night, I will say for a team that boy Josh, I'm sorry, but you sure look like the Ravens.

[SPEAKER_07]: God Almighty, dude, does that man know how to coach your football team?

[SPEAKER_07]: Talk, I haven't seen all five years.

[SPEAKER_07]: I have not seen the New York Giants more prepared to play a football game than they were by that coat.

[SPEAKER_07]: He is a great coat.

[SPEAKER_07]: It might very well be the Andy Reed syndrome here where he just spends 14 more years with the Giants.

[SPEAKER_05]: And he brought people he likes up there with them.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: So he had a card up there and likely there to help the offense.

[SPEAKER_05]: And they were not to be the most darts ever ran in a game.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was, it was, no, he's run before, but he used to run the Chris Collins worth who I don't like a lot, but he was spot on when he said, the previous Jackson dart was look for a receiver.

[SPEAKER_07]: He's covered, start to scramble.

[SPEAKER_07]: Now it's look for a receiver.

[SPEAKER_07]: He's covered, checked down to the other one, checked down to the other one.

[SPEAKER_07]: And he's been trained, and he has been coached up, and the New York Giants are a better football team already.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not going to say they're going to, you know,

[SPEAKER_07]: And any particular number of games, but I am going to say this is a better, a much better football team.

[SPEAKER_04]: Any point during I did not watch the evening game last night.

[SPEAKER_04]: At any point, did any of the Giants piss on anything?

[SPEAKER_07]: Let me ask this.

[SPEAKER_07]: What did you watch last night?

[SPEAKER_04]: Last night?

[SPEAKER_07]: What did you watch?

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if it wasn't black and I watched Mike, I watched a movie would have loved.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's been out of print and I finally found it on a cable provider.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's a James Cagney movie from 1962 called 1-2-3-162.

[SPEAKER_07]: He was probably in his 60s.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was his last movie before he did a period of retirement because he was disappointed he could.

[SPEAKER_07]: In the mid-state New York area.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he couldn't keep up with the speed of this.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's a cold war comedy with Billy Wilder as director.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it's about trying to get Coca-Cola into the Soviet Union.

[SPEAKER_04]: But it was, it's actually really good movie.

[SPEAKER_04]: Not easy to talk about.

[SPEAKER_04]: What's the title?

[SPEAKER_04]: One, two, three.

[SPEAKER_04]: I've been looking for it for years.

[SPEAKER_04]: And Cagney, I don't know why he thought he was disappointing because he was sensational in it.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, so he enjoyed it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, very, very good.

[SPEAKER_04]: But I did watch our commanders and they let us down.

[SPEAKER_04]: So that's fine.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, they'd lost to the Eagles.

[SPEAKER_04]: The Eagles, and you know what?

[SPEAKER_04]: They did what they always do.

[SPEAKER_04]: They make you think they've got a chance, and then they blow it with stupid air.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, the NFL's back, and it's a good time for sports fans and down here in Florida, where we actually play all the way through the cold temperatures up north, we got our baseball and it's fun, fun, fun, but every day, same thing.

[SPEAKER_07]: We are dancing every single day.

[SPEAKER_07]: around thunderstorms and it gets to a point where it's, uh, it's crazy.

[SPEAKER_04]: But you've always been having a drink and too.

[SPEAKER_04]: Did you have as good a weekend as I did?

[SPEAKER_04]: My weekend was super fine.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: Great.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Good weekend.

[SPEAKER_04]: Do your thunderstorms always headed about the same time?

[SPEAKER_07]: no they can be midday they can be like afternoon they can be evening they can be morning it does not matter you never know when it's going to happen and they are you know really pop up storms you just don't know when they're going to happen and it's a you know it's a regular current standing I did get to great surprises this weekend that's that really sort of a really took me off guard and I loved it is that my son Robert and my mother Sharon have both

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, that is awesome.

[SPEAKER_04]: And my mom is coming with her sister, Lina.

[SPEAKER_04]: So they've got their own little group that they've, you know, they've got a line of one to go.

[SPEAKER_07]: Lina wants to go.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, I don't want you to see her.

[SPEAKER_07]: I didn't know you had a line of, I had an out, Lila.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, she, this is L-I-N-A, and a lot of people want to say Lena.

[SPEAKER_07]: On Regina, on Lyla, on Anna, on May, on Kitty, and Lyla.

[SPEAKER_07]: I had to be married women in my family.

[SPEAKER_04]: If, do you think if Anne Regina were to go on the, the Margaritaville, let's see, what would her review of it be?

[SPEAKER_07]: Good.

[SPEAKER_07]: You know, the fact that robbery members that makes him an unofficial member of my family.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because God, we've known each other for a long time.

[SPEAKER_07]: But I mean, that is so, that's what a family member of mine would do.

[SPEAKER_07]: Because he would want the, he would want the pretty good.

[SPEAKER_04]: to pay off.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Good.

[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, I'm most excited that Robert is coming because this will be the first time in over a year that all four of us have been together, not in a holiday setting.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like, you know, like a social setting, get to have my two kids with me.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm thrilled.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's going to be great.

[SPEAKER_07]: I will tell you that as we are approaching the holiday season here, I have compartmentalized.

[SPEAKER_07]: the thought of, you know, that being my last TMOS podcast and really my last show show that I'm going to be doing.

[SPEAKER_07]: It really is the same way I handle 9-11, Elizabeth texted me over the weekend then.

[SPEAKER_04]: I hope it goes better than 9-11.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, she was with a friend and they were listening to our

[SPEAKER_07]: In my own way, when I don't dwell on 9-11 and I don't like to talk about 9-11, especially when I'm not on the air.

[SPEAKER_07]: I recognize that it's a thing that people talk about on the air.

[SPEAKER_07]: I think that in a very weird way that

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't care to be in any way discussing it when I'm just, I don't know what it is.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's not that I was, I didn't, I was in New York.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I experienced being in that city and there was a little bit of fear, not of the unknown, but at the same time I was not, you know, I didn't have somebody in the

[SPEAKER_07]: unsettled and weird about talking about it.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I think it has to do with the aftermath that we were all eyewitnesses to up there.

[SPEAKER_07]: When you saw the guys on the fire trucks in particular, yeah, covered with dust from head to toe where they had been down in the debris.

[SPEAKER_07]: And there was so much debris.

[SPEAKER_07]: It just, you know, as I said, I'm more comfortable talking about it here than I was,

[SPEAKER_04]: Because I've talked to Robert, I don't know if I have.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because Robert wasn't born, Julia was nearly two.

[SPEAKER_04]: What had happened?

[SPEAKER_07]: The turn of my kid plays him was a 9-11 memorial turn.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: That was the theme of the turn of him.

[SPEAKER_05]: But even that, like the school here, they'll do things on 9-11, where everyone wear red, white, and blue.

[SPEAKER_05]: But the kids don't really process it as

[SPEAKER_04]: the rest of us do they can't I don't think they can and you know for someone who does cover himself in nostalgia and like to serve as the unofficial historian of this show I have never once touched those broadcasts again once we did them I'm no interest in hearing them again well they're out there I know I would be I would be I think that no not really I think that

[SPEAKER_04]: that she chose to listen to your coverage of that event.

[SPEAKER_07]: I didn't remember how weird it was.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's one of a few times when I turned it on after Elizabeth told me they were listening to I said, where did you get that?

[SPEAKER_07]: Should YouTube?

[SPEAKER_07]: And then I went and I saw the, you know, it's got the WJFK logo and then it's just the audio broadcast.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I listened to a little bit of it.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I felt as though

[SPEAKER_07]: I wasn't listening to myself.

[SPEAKER_07]: I felt like I was listening to somebody else and hearing buzz and hearing dawn.

[SPEAKER_07]: The compartmentalization.

[SPEAKER_07]: Lisa herndon and just a strange, strange time.

[SPEAKER_04]: Time is a go.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I think if you really wanted to point to something that changed our world,

[SPEAKER_07]: uh... that was it yeah uh... that was the moment where we got freaked out and and uh... oh stop at stop at stop at stop at stop at stop at stop at stop at stop i think the obvious comparison would be what changed more what changed the world's more that or covid and i think i got to take this guy so i'll be right back

[SPEAKER_04]: Josh, I would say that 9-11 was more of a life-changing experience because COVID, there was always the hope of getting a cure, getting, you know, getting the vaccine, getting things back on track.

[SPEAKER_04]: And in many ways, although they'll never be exactly the same, we're kind of back on track, the way things were before COVID.

[SPEAKER_04]: But 9-11 changed everything.

[SPEAKER_05]: right on the time and we all of our security measures across the country changed then.

[SPEAKER_04]: Really the first I mean it was an act of terrorism but I mean the first sort of act of war since 1812 on our soil.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean that's scary and that was something that we never processed.

[SPEAKER_04]: I never thought that it could happen.

[SPEAKER_05]: and it was also at a point where technology wasn't where it is today.

[SPEAKER_05]: So technology allowed us to get through COVID and get through all that, where this was more of a cut-off communication for a little bit.

[SPEAKER_04]: It did.

[SPEAKER_04]: I actually, my mom here, you got to take the deal with it.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's actually looking at what's going on.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think Mike has his second mic open.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think that, um,

[SPEAKER_04]: One thing I never really talked about it with my mother, and talked about it over the on 9-11 this year, the 25th anniversary, and I just said, what was it like for you?

[SPEAKER_04]: She said, I was scared out of my mind for you, because I couldn't get through to them.

[SPEAKER_04]: there weren't cell lines to be had.

[SPEAKER_04]: You could barely get a landline out of the city at that point once everything happened.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I finally got through it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I heard like four o'clock that afternoon and I said everything's cool or safe, everyone's safe, but we're going to be here for a while and you know, I said, are you okay?

[SPEAKER_04]: And she said yeah, so let's go.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was, I don't know, I don't believe that you should label things PTSD, you know, and, and, but I think, on a really small level there, it's from a previous coworker.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: But that's just a, that's a weird one.

[SPEAKER_07]: I can't even get my head around how I, how I react to that.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_07]: I, like, deep in my soul, I think the,

[SPEAKER_07]: the emotional reaction is way, way, way down there because maybe because we had to be on the air right away.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm curious and again you said that you don't like to talk about it so I won't belabor it, but when all that was going down and you, by the way, not what I was going to say, you said one of the most important things that has stayed with me the whole time, you said, well, they've hit government and they've hit business.

[SPEAKER_04]: they're probably going to want to hit media next.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: And we were one of the most focused media organizations in the entire city of New York.

[SPEAKER_04]: We were wondering about you.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: We were one floor underneath the all news station, which would be next to 30 rock.

[SPEAKER_07]: a logical target in a, you know, on a ninth floor situation.

[SPEAKER_04]: A bad day got worse when Mike said that, but no, but what I want to ask you is, when we were in covering it and that first day was just so muddled and we didn't really have a plan or how to cover it or anything, did you feel kind of like you were in the eye of the storm?

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like everything was just spinning around us.

[SPEAKER_07]: I felt claustrophobic, I felt trapped, and we were technically, we were trapped in the city.

[SPEAKER_07]: We couldn't get out, you know, we were going back and forth, and that's how I felt.

[SPEAKER_07]: I wanted to get out almost half way through the very first day, the broadcast.

[SPEAKER_07]: I was like, please just make this end and there was no to do it.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, we were, we were, you know, getting in there.

[SPEAKER_07]: There was no.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was almost an automatic reaction to do the broadcast.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was like autopilot, you were on all, and we were on autopilot for three or four days.

[SPEAKER_07]: There's a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

[SPEAKER_07]: We got out and Friday.

[SPEAKER_07]: Did we broadcast on Friday?

[SPEAKER_04]: I think we left after the show and Friday.

[SPEAKER_07]: We left after the show and Friday.

[SPEAKER_04]: I believe, and the way we were able to swing it is he's no longer with us.

[SPEAKER_04]: We had the best driver in New York, Richard.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: And Richard said, I can get across the bridge.

[SPEAKER_04]: If you guys like, you can hop in the car,

[SPEAKER_04]: to national airport, and then you can disperse from there.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's what he did.

[SPEAKER_04]: And we were such a worthless guy.

[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you, dropped me off of the train station, too.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm way to...

[SPEAKER_07]: He took us into DC, and it was just a completely surreal.

[SPEAKER_07]: And then the other thing I remembered coming down into the DC area, and they were giving traffic reports, and I remember saying, traffic reports.

[SPEAKER_07]: Right.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was foreign to me that they were able to do,

[SPEAKER_07]: returned a little bit more to normal than it had in New York.

[SPEAKER_07]: New York was, you know, was over for a while.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: You know, there was nothing going on in New York City.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was, it was strange.

[SPEAKER_07]: But that's, you know, I'm glad that people make an effort to keep it in our minds.

[SPEAKER_07]: But the fact that terrorism can succeed in changing the way a country operates in a way in a way

[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, and a flip of the switch, I mean, the moment that plain hit, everything changed.

[SPEAKER_07]: Because that's when the whole immigrant thing went down, and it all fell.

[SPEAKER_05]: We also had a whole, in the DC area, we had a whole bunch of stuff right after that.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, because the D.C. shooter after that we got the anthrax then we got the sniper I forgot just this the sniper got the shoe bomber and the underwear bomber guys so it was like a lot of stuff Started happening right sniper was like Was that be September of 02 so it was not that long after that when we were not there

[SPEAKER_04]: We were in the hospital carry was giving birth to Robert when all that was going down and almost as well as I remember the birth of my son, Mike, I remember Mike Buchanan losing his mind on Channel 9.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: During the DC sniper man, it was some riveting teller and we were all scared to death, but this guy who was no longer on the air, Mike Buchanan, he took it personally.

[SPEAKER_04]: He would stand up and he was like,

[SPEAKER_04]: He was like the guy in network.

[SPEAKER_04]: He was screaming his head off and somehow that made me feel better.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Good for you, but because we could laugh at somebody else.

[SPEAKER_07]: All right.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, we got we'll move on.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, that's our little moment and we will move on from that.

[SPEAKER_07]: We got some tidbits coming up and a good show show for you ladies and gentlemen.

[SPEAKER_04]: There was just a little Jerry Todd putting his head in there.

[SPEAKER_07]: Cheers.

[SPEAKER_07]: Cheers.

[SPEAKER_07]: Cheers.

[SPEAKER_07]: President Trump is pushing back hard against growing concerns about artificial intelligence.

[SPEAKER_07]: Today he called warnings about AI safety, a hoax.

[SPEAKER_07]: and a sick conspiracy designed to hurt the USA I industry and benefit China.

[SPEAKER_07]: Why is he upset about this?

[SPEAKER_05]: What is he distracting us from?

[SPEAKER_05]: So the so I don't agree with Trump on this, but I do agree that AI is an concern.

[SPEAKER_05]: Because here's the thing, it is the head guys at anthropic and yeah, it's a new story here.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, they're the two companies that you pay a lot of money to use their AI service or saying that they, we should have restrictions on AI in America.

[SPEAKER_07]: Darryl O'Modi, yeah, they, he's called for more oversight.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Did he invent a medicine, a modium?

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, the problem is, like anything, you have to look at where the money is.

[SPEAKER_05]: And he wants the restrictions because you can now run AI on your own in open source platforms, and they want you to spend money with them.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, that's everything, right?

[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, that's always money.

[SPEAKER_05]: Because tap in AI and put restrictions on it in America, won't do us any good when the rest of the world just does what they want to do.

[SPEAKER_07]: But, look, I think the motives can definitely be questioned

[SPEAKER_07]: I think you can really look at that and say, you know, he wants to monetize it.

[SPEAKER_07]: So that's why he's saying, beware, but basically With the people who built the robot now saying maybe we shouldn't give this thing the keys to the house It makes sense because I think the the real facts are that

[SPEAKER_07]: Unleashed this could be problematic.

[SPEAKER_07]: I think we've always known that that there was a chance of this happening You're not worried about that.

[SPEAKER_07]: You're not afraid of that.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, I think it's computer software.

[SPEAKER_05]: It doesn't have a brain of a tone I can unplug it whenever I want.

[SPEAKER_05]: I think it's more concerned

[SPEAKER_05]: is one of the projects I did last week is I got tired of paying for these guys so I downloaded an open source say I and set up my own computer to run it so I didn't have to pay them monthly.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I think that's their concern.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I guess you know the money is always at the base of a lot of stuff.

[SPEAKER_04]: I just had was thinking that you know it's there's always saved for example out there been the ingredients to make a bomb.

[SPEAKER_04]: you know, if you really wanted to make a bomb you could, but they're not outlawing gasoline and fertilizer and all that stuff.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're just sort of going on the notion that you're not going to make a bomb.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now with AI, it could be used for evil.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm certain, but they're going to have to go with a certain amount of faith that people are not going to use it for absolute.

[SPEAKER_07]: Here's what I think you need to worry.

[SPEAKER_07]: When they really get the love doll's

[SPEAKER_07]: the love robots, like they have in Japan, you know what I mean?

[SPEAKER_07]: When they're really more friendly, like real, yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: That'll really tear out at the, you know, the family institutions.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: And for that Josh now, is that, is that worth getting paying for?

[SPEAKER_04]: Do you want to do that as an open source loved off?

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't want to keep out on that.

[SPEAKER_07]: This is another story.

[SPEAKER_07]: I've got an alliance, a political alliance.

[SPEAKER_07]: You never put these guys together on a stage, but they were strangest political alliance of the year, maybe Bernie Sanders, and former Trump advisor Steve Bannon are joining forces to warn about the dangers of artificial intelligence.

[SPEAKER_07]: The two couldn't be much further apart when it comes to politics.

[SPEAKER_07]: they agree that AI needs more human oversight.

[SPEAKER_07]: They're appearing at a pro-human assembly in Washington that is calling for limits on AI power and more government accountability.

[SPEAKER_07]: You seem to really be into this, yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, yeah, because I read it all because I'm a tech guy.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I find that the people who are against AI probably didn't do a whole lot of research into it and think it's Terminator.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, like on it.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I can't see any Sanders and Steve Bannon sit down and learn how AI works to find more.

[SPEAKER_06]: No, never mind.

[SPEAKER_06]: And all I know is the robots will take care of the world.

[SPEAKER_04]: What is Mr. Sanders?

[SPEAKER_04]: Hi, Rob.

[SPEAKER_04]: Michael, you Colonel.

[SPEAKER_06]: Try to find that there we are.

[SPEAKER_06]: I'm on the phone now.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, Bernie.

[SPEAKER_04]: What if we were able to use AI to somehow get more ruffage into your diet?

[SPEAKER_06]: I'd love AI to get me more chicken.

[SPEAKER_06]: And I just want to say, Michael Merra, that was the greatest description of a roasted chicken.

[SPEAKER_06]: I've ever heard.

[SPEAKER_04]: A roasted white?

[SPEAKER_06]: A roasted chicken.

[SPEAKER_06]: That's delicious.

[SPEAKER_06]: Very, very good.

[SPEAKER_04]: Do you like banan?

[SPEAKER_06]: Steve Bannon.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_06]: He's wonderful.

[SPEAKER_06]: That's him.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, really bad.

[SPEAKER_04]: Good luck.

[SPEAKER_04]: But you know a good skin on the chicken.

[SPEAKER_06]: Good skin on the chicken crispy.

[SPEAKER_07]: win.

[SPEAKER_07]: The NFL season off and running.

[SPEAKER_07]: There were some big numbers in week one.

[SPEAKER_07]: The Chicago Bears beat Carolina.

[SPEAKER_07]: Fifty nine to thirty seven.

[SPEAKER_07]: The most points ever scored by the Bears in a season opener.

[SPEAKER_07]: Caleb Williams accounted for four.

[SPEAKER_07]: Count him touchdowns.

[SPEAKER_07]: Sad to see winner.

[SPEAKER_07]: Josh Allen and the booze beat Houston thirty six to thirty one.

[SPEAKER_07]: Hey.

[SPEAKER_07]: Allen responsible for four touchdowns.

[SPEAKER_07]: The ravens, they don't miss John Harbaugh, they beat the cult's 41-23, Derek Henry ran his ass off for 144 yards, and the four Giants fans.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_06]: There's actually good news.

[SPEAKER_06]: The Giants beat the Cowboys 28-20, made my evening.

[SPEAKER_06]: That's the kind of result that makes Giants fans go, maybe this year, but then everything goes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Why do I feel that Bernie Sanders might be a Jets guy?

[SPEAKER_06]: I like the drugs.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not a story for you.

[SPEAKER_07]: The 78th prime time Emmy Awards are tonight's with Marissa Hargate.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is problematic to me.

[SPEAKER_07]: Why is that?

[SPEAKER_04]: Because what I know that it is an NBC property this time and they can all the stations get to change.

[SPEAKER_04]: They get to take their turn.

[SPEAKER_07]: So I went and was with ABC.

[SPEAKER_07]: They had Kimmel.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: But don't you think there's someone in the NBC stable of stars that is going to be a better variety type performer than Mariska Hargitay.

[SPEAKER_07]: Look, all I know is maybe a year ago, maybe even a little longer.

[SPEAKER_07]: I stopped.

[SPEAKER_07]: I no longer participate.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't have any interest in them.

[SPEAKER_07]: They board me out of existence.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I don't pay attention to the Emmys.

[SPEAKER_07]: I have no interest in them whatsoever.

[SPEAKER_07]: They were really fun for a while.

[SPEAKER_07]: But when everything was a little smaller, and we didn't have 750,000 different options to watch the show.

[SPEAKER_04]: Showers, yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: You know, I used to like it because you would have your favorites and your favorites were more limited.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and so we'd pick our favorites and everybody get together and you certainly knew who the competition was.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know anymore.

[SPEAKER_07]: What's going on?

[SPEAKER_04]: Josh and I were talking how long before Netflix puts their hat in the ring to be the every fifth year.

[SPEAKER_04]: They get to run the Emmys because they sort of control all the prizes now, don't they?

[SPEAKER_07]: I think so and I all I know is that the amount of self-serving behind the scenes people that nobody who is a viewer cares about and people say, well, they put the stuff, no, let me make it clear to you.

[SPEAKER_07]: We are the consumers.

[SPEAKER_07]: We,

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, put that on as entertainment television entertain us and you're not entertaining us when you get best adapted screenplay from a makeup artist with, you know, with a foreign film.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't need that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, they have split the, they've split the awards now like they kind of did with the Grammys.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's already been one ceremony for technical awards.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but they still have a lot of boring orders.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, they do.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's funny.

[SPEAKER_05]: What we're going to say, the show with the most nominations for tonight is the pit.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but you know what still not a network show, and in that way, what is the pit that is.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's be a max, isn't it?

[SPEAKER_07]: He's be a max.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_05]: And you got Hacks at 24.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's also HTO max.

[SPEAKER_07]: Don't you think Hacks is like the award darling, that's it, that's it.

[SPEAKER_07]: They're well marketed, is that what it is?

[SPEAKER_04]: TV congratulating itself, because it's a, it's about a comedian on TV.

[SPEAKER_05]: Right, right.

[SPEAKER_05]: But you're right.

[SPEAKER_05]: We've got widows bay at 19.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's apple.

[SPEAKER_05]: Plora.

[SPEAKER_05]: Apple.

[SPEAKER_05]: At 18.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's apple.

[SPEAKER_07]: What was the one that's uh, Florida's?

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, Florida, but so okay.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, beef with 16.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's natural.

[SPEAKER_05]: Another one that everybody supposed to like.

[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know what was fine.

[SPEAKER_04]: Second season sucked.

[SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[SPEAKER_05]: What is DTF St. Louis?

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I know with DTF means well, that test 13.

[SPEAKER_05]: Do you know what that is that a TV show?

[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_07]: DSL is the same Lewis.

[SPEAKER_05]: So that's got 13 S S and L has 11.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I think that's the first show on network television.

[SPEAKER_04]: But SNL is another media darling.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's, it'll win even if it doesn't deserve it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And do you want to get anything?

[SPEAKER_07]: Did Lyna get any, uh, probably not.

[SPEAKER_05]: These are the shows with land and nominees.

[SPEAKER_04]: The Dutton Ranch.

[SPEAKER_04]: that they should all be noticed.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, landman, especially, I think.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: This, I don't know why this pisses me off, is that it's at the Nokia Theater tonight.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's where they're doing the award ceremony.

[SPEAKER_04]: But due to a deal between Comcast and AEG live, who runs the Nokia Theater, it's now called the peacock theater, because it's Comcast.

[SPEAKER_07]: And it was the Samsung Theater, because then the theater would actually fold.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's the Mike the Samsung Vitor is 112 inches in diameter.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's one.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was looking.

[SPEAKER_05]: Linus has one nominee for stunt acting.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_05]: And nothing for land man.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: Nothing for land man.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, I don't think they like Taylor Taylor Sheridan.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it seems here that they've renamed Xbox Plaza in Los Angeles as Peacock Plaza.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, and that lovely.

[SPEAKER_04]: That is.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, because I like the pit, so I might take a peek, but I doubt it.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know if the pins are on my wrist.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'll watch the Death Real tomorrow, and they've already saved released what who's going to do the Death Real.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is a, they don't have a band of this year.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I guess it's all pre-recorded music.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, no, that sucks.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it's going to be a folk pop star, Noah Kayhan, don't know him, who will sing Bridge Over Troubled Water, while they run the montage of celebrities that have passed away.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure Bob Mackie won't make it.

[SPEAKER_04]: He had the bad timing to die today.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's too late to get in the montage.

[SPEAKER_07]: Mariska is the first woman to host the Emmy since Jane Lynch in 2011.

[SPEAKER_07]: Hargitay has been preparing with writers from Stephen Colbert Show.

[SPEAKER_07]: So she's got some serious comedy firepower.

[SPEAKER_04]: That will be good, you know what it'll be?

[SPEAKER_04]: It'll be very, very up her crusty.

[SPEAKER_07]: And she also won two creative arts Emmys for her documentary, My Mom Jane, which I did not watch.

[SPEAKER_07]: No.

[SPEAKER_07]: She's going into the night as both a host and a winner, which is pretty good.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I wish they bring back Bob Hope.

[SPEAKER_04]: I want to tell you.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's a wild road.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's a, I'm about that drain lunge.

[SPEAKER_07]: Sure.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, take networks out of it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Who would be your ideal host tonight?

[SPEAKER_04]: Because if it stays on NBC, I hate to be this guy.

[SPEAKER_04]: They watch it all.

[SPEAKER_03]: They watch it all.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, I think they would.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm shocked they didn't go with Fallen, but you know Seth Meyers would have been great.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, and NBC, a guy?

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: Alec Baldwin.

[SPEAKER_05]: But they couldn't take any one from SNL and it would have been better or entertainment than this.

[SPEAKER_04]: Not more solo Hernandez.

[SPEAKER_04]: Bill Hater.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I'd like that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I like Bill Hater.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'd like to tell you that's it.

[SPEAKER_07]: He could do the whole thing as Alan Alder.

[SPEAKER_05]: Whew.

[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,

[SPEAKER_05]: All right, that's why a large stage that she's great, yes, what does seem like something where it should have been a Colin Jost and Michael Chey?

[SPEAKER_04]: Jost and Chey would be great, that's co-host, I think that would be sensation, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see, a new wired investigation is looking at an online network known as the Burnerverse.

[SPEAKER_07]: which has been used to harass and humiliate young women.

[SPEAKER_07]: One case involved a University of Florida student.

[SPEAKER_07]: Her name was Maddie Koalski, whose non-consensual sexual video was circulated online.

[SPEAKER_07]: The harassment expanded into doxxing threats and attacks against her family.

[SPEAKER_07]: Three University of Florida students have been charged with sexual cyber harassment.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's a dark story, but it's a good conversation about the fact that the internet has created an entire generation of people who think posting something isn't real life.

[SPEAKER_07]: Unfortunately for the victim, it very much is.

[SPEAKER_04]: That to me is much more horrifying than AI.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, anyone that's up in arms about AI, I mean, you can literally ruin an individual's life with one thing that you do on the phone that you carry with you all the time.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's horrifying.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's the way of the world and these kids have a mile, a minute.

[SPEAKER_07]: information, just coming into their brains, streaming it all constantly, it never, ever stops.

[SPEAKER_07]: So I don't know what you do about it, but it's the genie's out of the bottle right now.

[SPEAKER_06]: So who knows?

[SPEAKER_07]: All right, Florida, Florida, man.

[SPEAKER_07]: He was arrested for allegedly exposing himself and the headline actually describes him being in a G string.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's the beauty of Florida crime somewhere in the country.

[SPEAKER_07]: A police report says,

[SPEAKER_07]: Suspect was wearing a G-string and everybody in Florida just nods and says, he sounds about, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: And you have the butt of G-string.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_07]: He was wearing a G-string.

[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see.

[SPEAKER_07]: It doesn't say where he did it.

[SPEAKER_07]: Where he was located.

[SPEAKER_07]: As a matter of fact, it's like, yeah, I think.

[SPEAKER_07]: Now if you're on a train,

[SPEAKER_07]: funny.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, right.

[SPEAKER_07]: If you're on a bus funny, uh, you know, standing on a street corner.

[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what if you're at iron or roasted chicken restaurant, whatever that was good.

[SPEAKER_07]: It would have made the, uh, I think it would have made the anniversary dinner all the more festive.

[SPEAKER_04]: Another salad for this young man, please.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, have it another margarita!

[SPEAKER_07]: Ah, yeah, take that off.

[SPEAKER_07]: Alright, we'll take a break, we'll come back with more fun and more thrills, ladies and gentlemen.

[SPEAKER_07]: But first, after all these years, you know, the Michael Mary Show was never going to sneak out the back door.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, we're sneaking out to see.

[SPEAKER_07]: and you, my friends, are coming with us.

[SPEAKER_07]: From January 21st through the 25th, the TMOS gang is taking over the high seas, sailing from Tampa to Cosimel for four unforgettable days of sun, laugh, swag, meet and greet, and more than a few ship-prime groups.

[SPEAKER_07]: Alone or worried uh, but this isn't just another TMOS trip.

[SPEAKER_07]: This is the Grand Finale somewhere between Tampa and Paradise We are going to gather together for the final episode of the Michael Maris Show podcast recorded live with a live studio audience You Yippee and what's gonna be great is in the last portion of the final show.

[SPEAKER_04]: We are going to draw a number

[SPEAKER_04]: and determine who your replacement is, right?

[SPEAKER_07]: For the last show, one last room full of TMOS family, one last chance to make some history together.

[SPEAKER_07]: If you've listened, laugh, written in, come to the live shows.

[SPEAKER_07]: Or, you know, come to the live show.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, if you have listened, if you have laughed, if you have written in, if you come to the live shows, or you just made TMOS part of your day.

[SPEAKER_07]: This cruise is yours.

[SPEAKER_07]: Get all the details at TMOSpodcast.com, come and say goodbye to me.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, please, or call 800-814-7100, use group code 4435 and tell them you're with TMOS book today to lock in your price.

[SPEAKER_07]: We've shared a lot of years together.

[SPEAKER_07]: Now let's share one hell of a goodbye.

[SPEAKER_07]: How are we doing with this thing, Josh?

[SPEAKER_05]: We're doing well if you booked your cruise.

[SPEAKER_05]: not by calling the phone number and giving our group code reach out to me so we can make sure we get you added to our group.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's important.

[SPEAKER_05]: So if you went online for some reason the book even though we've been telling you to call reach out to me so we make sure to get your registration line to work.

[SPEAKER_04]: And also jerks, you better be nice to my mom, all right?

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to deal with it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to deal with it.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're always nice too.

[SPEAKER_04]: They better be.

[SPEAKER_07]: Too, too, Sharon.

[SPEAKER_04]: She's like a princess.

[SPEAKER_07]: She's a lovely lady.

[SPEAKER_07]: She's a wonderful, wonderful lady.

[SPEAKER_07]: And, you know, I have to say, on a serious note, my lady is pretty wonderful to me too.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I'm very, very happy.

[SPEAKER_07]: And this week, we go right from, I'm not even sure whether you're aware of this.

[SPEAKER_07]: We go right from Anniversary to birthday.

[SPEAKER_04]: I remember them being closed in proximity.

[SPEAKER_04]: Here's my secret.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I'm doing the five days of birth.

[SPEAKER_04]: five days.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like a like a Hanukkah thing.

[SPEAKER_07]: Why five days?

[SPEAKER_07]: Because it's five little gifts.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's always to one big gift.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's a good way.

[SPEAKER_07]: And she found I'm getting a really big.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well they start with the best gift and then sort of diminish or we'll let's go.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well that's what they don't do on Hanukkah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Hanukkah, the big night is the first night.

[SPEAKER_07]: I was smart enough to know that the gifts that she actually said, I want something.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I think I correctly acquired that.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's a parfume.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I think I got it right.

[SPEAKER_07]: She's got like the two series that she wanted one third one.

[SPEAKER_07]: And hopefully I got it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And if you need a fifth gift, my kid, women love spatulas.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, because if you're going to cook, you need a great city dot com.

[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_04]: And that's where you go.

[SPEAKER_07]: Now, you had mentioned something you wanted to talk about today, Rob, speedwack, and I wrote it down, and then I dropped it off of my computer by accident.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was actually, it was the morning, the Emmy Awards, but there is something else I want to talk about.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: All right.

[SPEAKER_07]: Go ahead.

[SPEAKER_04]: have you ever ordered anything on Timo and you keep getting updates and updates and you assume it's never going to show up and you just give it up and you say one of the 12 bucks I've wasted right one of the great drawbacks of alley express of team with sheen of all of them is that on occasion you will get even Amazon.

[SPEAKER_07]: you will get lost in the shuffle.

[SPEAKER_07]: And by the way, if you're going to shop Amazon, go through our page, please.

[SPEAKER_07]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_07]: You do that one click.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, but I've had many experiences where something is shown up that there was no record of.

[SPEAKER_07]: where I'm like, I was actually watching it and then it disappeared and then two weeks later it shows up at the house and it was just like an extra surprise, but yeah, I know what you're talking to anything can happen when you use those, uh, doesn't the story on Saturday, she will occasionally order stuff from Walmart and for no reason Walmart delivered her two gallons of wool light.

[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't even know they still made way.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I didn't know you guys were that big sweater wearers.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, we never had wool light in our cart.

[SPEAKER_04]: They just determined and it was delivered.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I said, are you going to return it?

[SPEAKER_04]: She says, no, because

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, if we're in some sort of loop where they're sending us free stuff, don't mess with it.

[SPEAKER_07]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: So we gave a gallon of oil light to my daughter and we're keeping and by the way, if your marriage can outlast a gallon of oil light, good for you.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, that's wonderful.

[SPEAKER_07]: But I mean, I'm thinking will light in terms of that's a product that you hand wash stuff.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Is that what it is?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: So, I mean, do you wear a lot of wool?

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it's also my underwear, is my underwear is woolen.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, I have a couple sweaters that I could use it on, but I mean, when you are really using something occasionally that you use by the cat's soul, he said, you know, this Simmons guy's out of his friggin' mind.

[SPEAKER_07]: He wants to, you get him to join the show.

[SPEAKER_07]: He said a working gallon of woolen.

[SPEAKER_07]: We haven't broken the seal yet, Mike, that's the thing.

[SPEAKER_04]: But this morning, I woke up to an email and it says,

[SPEAKER_07]: From GoFo, oh, that's the, no, that's not GoFo, that's the, that's the transport service.

[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_04]: I say that's gotta be the thing.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, that's the thing.

[SPEAKER_04]: I know what this is.

[SPEAKER_04]: I know what this is supposed to be.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I know what I paid for it.

[SPEAKER_04]: So let's have a little unboxing Showing.

[SPEAKER_07]: Can we do a guessing game?

[SPEAKER_07]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_07]: How much, do you mind if I ask what you paid?

[SPEAKER_04]: I believe it was 12.95 and shipping was included.

[SPEAKER_07]: 1295, all right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Which if I need to put it into perspective 1295 is enough to make you think twice, but not enough to stop you if you know you're about to get really ripped off.

[SPEAKER_07]: Now Josh is somebody who's better at this than I am because I know you better.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's a little low for a microphone.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is it's not a microphone.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's a little it's not a little low for a kitchen gadget.

[SPEAKER_04]: You're right, but it's not a get you to work and I believe the box if I had to put it I say it's probably six by eight inches, and it's in a padded miller, but there's a box in there I'm so conditioned to it.

[SPEAKER_07]: I get excited when I see the box I'm in my mind with consumerism

[SPEAKER_05]: I know you got really excited about that gunlighter.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that was one of the best for you in another.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's not a gunlighter.

[SPEAKER_07]: Give us a hint.

[SPEAKER_04]: It has to do with probably my favorite overall performer.

[SPEAKER_07]: Jerry Lewis.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, over.

[SPEAKER_04]: Elvis.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, Mike, you're on the right.

[SPEAKER_07]: Elvis, when you we got a big fight because you were challenged.

[SPEAKER_07]: I know.

[SPEAKER_07]: I brought up Elvis.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: Elvis, but not a record.

[SPEAKER_04]: No.

[SPEAKER_07]: Any kind.

[SPEAKER_04]: And not a gun and not a kitchen gadget.

[SPEAKER_02]: a figurine.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think it might be more like an action figure if I remember how it was just to get to the unboxed.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see what happens.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I know Joshua loved the fact that he crazy posed you on.

[SPEAKER_04]: Joshua loved the fact that I actually have a razor blade ready to go to himself.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, I'm not going to.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, opening it up now.

[SPEAKER_05]: This is exciting.

[SPEAKER_04]: Boy, you're telling me.

[SPEAKER_05]: I like to think it made that same noise when you cut your ears.

[SPEAKER_05]: Here it is.

[SPEAKER_04]: The baby Jesus.

[SPEAKER_05]: The baby Jesus.

[SPEAKER_07]: Bye, baby.

[SPEAKER_04]: But he's not possible.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, mine's right here.

[SPEAKER_04]: I have one back here, too.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, there we go, the baby Jesus.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: Do you know, is that you've got an African American baby Jesus?

[SPEAKER_07]: That's my type of Jesus.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: There you go.

[SPEAKER_07]: I've got a white dog.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's why you left your church, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: Because they wouldn't preach to the black baby Jesus.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Open your saying.

[SPEAKER_04]: What do you got there?

[SPEAKER_04]: Alright, first of all, when you open the box, it really does look like a coffin with Elvis face down.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know if you can tell, the arm is not attached to it, but it looks like he comes with a guitar, hold on.

[SPEAKER_07]: Here's the arm that is by design, but you're supposed to construct the guitar and the arm in every way.

[SPEAKER_04]: The likeness to the face is absolutely stunning.

[SPEAKER_07]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: are you lonesome uh... the arm and all it's a ball and socket joint so yeah you can put it we see that face again yeah sure yeah real close hey man hey jack soon spongebé now can you put the guitar in his hand i haven't tried okay i think i like the under the jumpsuit shirt it almost looks like extra skin

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, how many speedwack thumbs would you give it well if you have Elvis standing like this Have to give it not many Oh wait, his arm came off again.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, one of his legs come off Oh, his legs come off.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, legs do come off

[SPEAKER_07]: for a limited time on Timo it's polio Elvis yeah crash best Elvis but you know why he doesn't pose in a way that I can make him sit by the joints too loose and cheap yeah it's horrible it's a piece of shit I mean it's so it doesn't he can it stand that can he stand on its own

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna, you know what, can I stand his arm?

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm like, oh, we'll hold on, I think I put that leg on backwards, hold on.

[SPEAKER_04]: His feet were facing back.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, hell, yeah, he stands, he just looks like he's, his feet were pointed in.

[SPEAKER_07]: So will it make it to your wall?

[SPEAKER_04]: It will make it to the shelf, of course.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: But let's see about the guitar.

[SPEAKER_04]: The guitar is very peculiar, Mike, it is shaped like an acoustic guitar, and yet it has five pickups on it.

[SPEAKER_04]: So it's not exactly accurate.

[SPEAKER_07]: That was needs boats now now do that again because it appears to me that normally those figurines are there Remember always hold up his by his face.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's so he can dance.

[SPEAKER_07]: They're supposed to be tighter.

[SPEAKER_07]: Aren't things just to be tighter?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's true.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah, it's garbage.

[SPEAKER_07]: Did you get which source was it the she and the alley was it the Timo which one was the Timo Timo the problem you're probably exclusively Timo Aren't you when you go to the east do you do sheen do you I have what I'm clothing right?

[SPEAKER_07]: So it's Josh for that matter.

[SPEAKER_07]: I know what to do.

[SPEAKER_07]: I know exactly what to do.

[SPEAKER_07]: Post-washing figures.

[SPEAKER_04]: Here we go.

[SPEAKER_04]: Here's Elvis, so cripply.

[SPEAKER_04]: Holy his guitar.

[SPEAKER_07]: Boy, that's seriously.

[SPEAKER_07]: That looks like, you know, this is his legs were crushed in the accident.

[SPEAKER_07]: I.

[SPEAKER_04]: I thought a lot of shitty Elvis stuff, but I would almost have been happier if this had never arrived.

[SPEAKER_04]: That pose, that pose, that one pose, did the hat come off?

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to see if it does.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now the head seems to be sound-wings.

[SPEAKER_06]: That's awesome.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's awesome.

[SPEAKER_04]: So that's it.

[SPEAKER_04]: By the way, this is no authentic jumpsuit.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is just sort of a representation of a jumpsuit.

[SPEAKER_04]: But no, you can't.

[SPEAKER_04]: You cannot bend the legs to a seating position.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, I mean, I'll probably just time to something.

[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey

[SPEAKER_07]: is this is a difficult sentence.

[SPEAKER_07]: Bear with me.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: The fix is Hicks, Nick's sticks, picks.

[SPEAKER_07]: The podcast about Rob.

[SPEAKER_04]: I never miss it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I never do.

[SPEAKER_07]: Every week join our own Joshua Roca as he watches a classic movie, hands selected by his co-host Rob Spiwak.

[SPEAKER_07]: Rob tries to convince Josh why the movie is great and sometimes he succeeds, but not always.

[SPEAKER_07]: So whether it's a comedy, a horror, well, a horror movie, not a horror, a western, a musical, color of lack of white.

[SPEAKER_06]: mostly black and white.

[SPEAKER_07]: Watch the movie in advance and listen in.

[SPEAKER_07]: You might learn something more to you.

[SPEAKER_07]: Why my arm fell off, Jack.

[SPEAKER_07]: My hands are like a tar.

[SPEAKER_07]: But you will enjoy yourself.

[SPEAKER_07]: So treat yourself to come a Hicks Nicks Pixie.

[SPEAKER_07]: Doesn't be become a Hicks Nick sticks Pixie.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, that's our, that's our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our

[SPEAKER_07]: That like smells a little off that have I talked to you about what a burger yet as far as the the Review of my trip to water burger.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think so.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think so.

[SPEAKER_07]: I think I did it since since I haven't been We boys.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we've talked about water burger, but mostly you wait and for to open

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, because it was Friday.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was Friday and you're a bad Catholic.

[SPEAKER_04]: I go down to go and get a burger.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, Friday.

[SPEAKER_07]: That joke would have been funny in 1968, not now.

[SPEAKER_07]: So I go down my kids golf match, lightning delay, then they cancel the whole thing.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's the first match of the year.

[SPEAKER_07]: All the parents are bombed.

[SPEAKER_07]: All the kids are bombed.

[SPEAKER_07]: On the way back, I see, you know, for two days, we've been experiencing this, what are burger, mania?

[SPEAKER_07]: right here in Fort Myers.

[SPEAKER_07]: And the line was two, there was a kid on the news that was waiting in line two and a half hours to go to what a burger.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's a perfect suburban event.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we had the same thing when years ago when the Chipotle opened in Leesburg.

[SPEAKER_04]: And they were out into the park.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I said, it's, you want one, go to Sterling.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's no line there.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's so big deal.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: called following exists for this particular burger chain and uh the line was significant all week long.

[SPEAKER_07]: I think they opened them Wednesday and I was shaking my head

[SPEAKER_07]: Sorry, Rafa, I had a goofy Monday, it's it's it's it's the lime was I was shaking my head every time I went by I don't want a bunch of fucking rude.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, because you wanted it.

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, you just want to wait in line.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, no, I at this point I will tell you I was curious

[SPEAKER_07]: But yes, I think subconsciously you see that frenzy Josh, you see that enthusiasm, they can't see that.

[SPEAKER_07]: And they, so let me just get cut to the chase here.

[SPEAKER_04]: Did you at any time when you drove by, did you yell at the people in line?

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, yeah, it's a matter of fact, uh, let me, I gotta make sure I get, no, that's not what I have.

[SPEAKER_07]: God, nothing's working.

[UNKNOWN]: Hello?

[SPEAKER_07]: No, that's it, that's my robot.

[SPEAKER_07]: Hello?

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I was driving by.

[SPEAKER_06]: Mmm, look at that.

[SPEAKER_06]: All right, so water deck, you're all dick, you're all dick, you're all dick, you're all dick, and why did they build this best food place with the bottom of a cavern?

[SPEAKER_07]: You're a driver, that's my official car sound.

[SPEAKER_07]: Let me out the window of the car, you know.

[SPEAKER_07]: Enjoy your burger, you dick.

[SPEAKER_07]: All right, anyway.

[SPEAKER_07]: Friday, golf meds gets canceled, lightning alert, blah, blah, blah.

[SPEAKER_07]: We're driving back Michael's bummed, I'm bummed.

[SPEAKER_07]: Right.

[SPEAKER_07]: And as we take a ride onto the Super Slav known as 41, that is known as the Tam Miami Trail.

[SPEAKER_07]: I like to call it 40 Wonderful, 40 Wonderful.

[SPEAKER_07]: I see that there's a break in the two-hour like line.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I'm like,

[SPEAKER_07]: Why not?

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm in the middle lane.

[SPEAKER_07]: I zip over into the right lane and I am three cars prior to the parking lot.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: So I am there.

[SPEAKER_07]: I am there.

[SPEAKER_07]: It is still batshit crazy.

[SPEAKER_07]: I think our total time commitment may have been somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 35 minutes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now are you able at Watherberger to drive through or do you have to go in?

[SPEAKER_07]: They are letting you drive through, they have prepared, they have multiple employees out there.

[SPEAKER_07]: Now, they're bundling up there like paper goods that had been outside of a trailer because the storm is a comment.

[SPEAKER_07]: Sure.

[SPEAKER_07]: And so they're doing this.

[SPEAKER_07]: But then I meet this lovely lady from Houston, Texas, who's one of those hired guns,

[SPEAKER_07]: the place established and then she's off on her marry one and we are and at this point Michael's golf matches Can't so we do not have dinner with Mrs. O'Mara.

[SPEAKER_07]: She is working late.

[SPEAKER_07]: She is working late We have no time constraints.

[SPEAKER_07]: We are fine with this.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm like A.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, and I'm chatting them up

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, where are you from?

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, that's fantastic.

[SPEAKER_07]: I said, she goes, I'm from Houston.

[SPEAKER_07]: I said, I owe 45 minutes in the cab from anywhere.

[SPEAKER_07]: And she laughed because that's their joke in Houston that takes a long time to get anywhere you need to go.

[SPEAKER_07]: And it was pleasant.

[SPEAKER_07]: And then we did it with the next person in line.

[SPEAKER_07]: We took the, they took our order.

[SPEAKER_07]: We ordered, I said, Michael, I think it's a good idea to order as standard.

[SPEAKER_07]: a product as we can because I want to know what the the what what the one of the base is right and they said what's the what's the standard burger and sheep with obviously got in that question before she said that's uh that's the regular get a regular water burger uh get a regular water burger meal comes with a drink and a side of medium fries i'm like that's what we will have grand and i'm here to tell you

[SPEAKER_07]: first thing into my cake hole was thirty pounds gained no first the first thing was the fry the fry solid performer better than any of the secondary burger fresh

[SPEAKER_07]: Shoes strings like that good for me.

[SPEAKER_07]: The best my favorite.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, Josh's trying to do this is we'll have to go there.

[SPEAKER_05]: I go there regularly.

[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_05]: Did you get they are known for their spicy ketchup to go with the fries?

[SPEAKER_07]: No, we did.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, we want to get the spicy ketchup next time.

[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_05]: And and onion rings.

[SPEAKER_05]: Take it rectally.

[SPEAKER_05]: What was that?

[SPEAKER_05]: Damn.

[SPEAKER_05]: Damn onion rings.

[SPEAKER_05]: Onion rings.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: Very good.

[SPEAKER_07]: I was you know you go in when you've seen this hype machine and you know nothing about the chain you're going in ready to poo poo Right, this is good.

[SPEAKER_06]: This is a better burger than

[SPEAKER_07]: all of them in a fast food environment.

[SPEAKER_07]: This is fine.

[SPEAKER_07]: This is really solid price point reasonable right Josh.

[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, they're not more expensive than Mickey.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, it's 15 bucks, which is all fast food now.

[SPEAKER_05]: It was the last five guys.

[SPEAKER_05]: The last five guys.

[SPEAKER_07]: The burger itself larger than your McDonald's fair, right?

[SPEAKER_07]: And it had better fresher and great.

[SPEAKER_07]: It had this is how I can describe it.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was a cleaner version of the water.

[SPEAKER_07]: It was the wiper without all the crap going on, you know, it was, it was, and it was, I would, I said, this is, you know, this is good enough to say it's good enough.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's what, that's how I would review the water burger dessert.

[SPEAKER_07]: What did we get?

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: This is the one negative.

[SPEAKER_07]: They have sold us on an apple pie.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's the apple pie is not good.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's garbage.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah,

[SPEAKER_05]: It is a Coke property and it is styrofoam cups, which I love.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, that's good for the environment too, yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: If they invade your city, I say go for it.

[SPEAKER_07]: We're up on a break.

[SPEAKER_07]: I have to do this and then when we come to do you have some beautiful video.

[SPEAKER_04]: I do, I don't have any video of burgers, but I do have some other thing.

[SPEAKER_07]: Another one coming to my town too.

[SPEAKER_07]: They're like opening two that are close by.

[SPEAKER_04]: Mike, I've done karaoke with you before, but I don't think you're a big karaoke enthusiast.

[SPEAKER_04]: But if I were to show you the most festive Russian karaoke presentation of all time, do you think I could sell you?

[SPEAKER_07]: Let's do it.

[SPEAKER_07]: I can be sold on Karaoke.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, these are appears to be three Russian fellows, and they're singing live in La Vita, which is a great song.

[SPEAKER_04]: But just watch what goes on while they perform karaoke.

[SPEAKER_04]: I am all in.

[SPEAKER_04]: The fire guy is good, but the champagne guy is great too.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is these eruptions, yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, that's gasoline he's pouring into the fire.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is so Russian that when I downloaded it very Russian violent don't you think right the letters didn't even look like Roman letters They were just that old Russian character.

[SPEAKER_07]: They definitely have that that kind of like we're overly violent drunk Yeah, and what a waste of champagne when you take it in your weapon on the ground to it Yeah, not a very strange made me an easy rob it made me uneasy it didn't sell me on the cat.

[SPEAKER_07]: I okay

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, maybe the next time we go behind the iron curtain, we'll do it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: The second tape mic, this is Dehuis Choice.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's two of your favorite people.

[SPEAKER_04]: Do you want to update from Vicki Lawrence, or do you want to find out a little bit about Marlo Thomas?

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, man.

[SPEAKER_07]: They're like that is so equal.

[SPEAKER_07]: That is very there.

[SPEAKER_04]: So and know this is what we don't get to today.

[SPEAKER_04]: We can get to tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_07]: Still don't use dead, right?

[SPEAKER_07]: It's dead.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know, but that's how you think he's gone.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Let's get both of them.

[SPEAKER_07]: But let's get Vicky Lawrence.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, Vicky Lawrence, it wants you to know Mike, and this really does apply.

[SPEAKER_04]: You, you chose well, Patwan, because I know so many times when you click on Vicky's videos on the social media, you want to make sure it's really Vicky Lawrence, and not someone faking Vicky Lawrence.

[SPEAKER_04]: So she wants you to know she's genuine.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hi, guys.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, she was good.

[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I guess there has been some question out there as to- I don't know why they have like a robot filter on her voice.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, but she doesn't look bad.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, she doesn't.

[SPEAKER_07]: She doesn't.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right?

[SPEAKER_07]: I was scared when you said that because I thought we were going to see somebody that didn't resemble the killer.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, but this is very important message she has.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hi you guys, it is me, I guess there has been some question out there as to whether it is really me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, it's for sure me, this is my Facebook page.

[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the deal, Patty goes out on the road with me when I do a Comic Con, so I become pretty good friends, and occasionally we have more, or I

[SPEAKER_00]: something just tries to spare her funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we'd like to do these silly little videos just to entertain ourselves.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, Patty started posting it on things and since she's a camera woman, she's the one that has to post them.

[SPEAKER_00]: So there you have it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm glad you're enjoying them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And thank you for all of your lovely comments.

[SPEAKER_04]: Here's what you do, Mike, you follow Vicki on social media and she goes to these signing shows.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're not like the big ones, not like Comic-Con.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're like ones that we go to at Gethersburg.

[SPEAKER_04]: And she goes dressed as Mama from Mama's family and we'll do photo ops and sign things, but those with the videos are that she's talking about when she does stick as Mama.

[SPEAKER_04]: and I do believe that mom's family might be my least favorite situation comedy of all times.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, I didn't know she does mama.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, she does mama.

[SPEAKER_07]: How old would she be now?

[SPEAKER_04]: But she'd be in her 70s or 80s.

[SPEAKER_04]: I bet she'd just probably crested 80 because she's younger than Carol because she was cast as Carol Burnett's younger sister.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, but I tell you what, I hope I look that good at 70.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I don't know, I'm kind of there already.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I wish you had her hair.

[SPEAKER_04]: I can get it.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's very red.

[SPEAKER_07]: I can go on by it.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, absolutely.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's close with this, Mike.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is a guy on, I believe I found this on the Graham.

[SPEAKER_04]: His name is Richie Moriarty.

[SPEAKER_04]: Richie Richie.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I think you will appreciate the fact that Richie says, every baseball announcer sounds the same.

[SPEAKER_01]: Moriarty with a flag of a flag of a flag of a flag of a flag of a flag of a flag of a flag of a flag of a flag of a flag of a flag

[SPEAKER_01]: And again, it's a five on the same group, I find a sense.

[SPEAKER_01]: A five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a one.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same, a five on the same

[SPEAKER_07]: That's awesome.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's good.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's what they all sound like.

[SPEAKER_07]: He's the first one that did it.

[SPEAKER_07]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's incredible quality video.

[SPEAKER_07]: He did it on the fly and that's the internet now pitpokes you can do it and it gets on a show like this.
