[SPEAKER_02]: We're here every Tuesday, cited to join you Jeff Ponds, Josh Norris, JJ Cooper, talking about prospects today, talking about the areas that are folly grossers and is always taking your questions.

[SPEAKER_02]: But right now, we have an exciting prospect

[SPEAKER_02]: Baseball playoffs are around the corner.

[SPEAKER_02]: And Fox 1 is covered all post season long.

[SPEAKER_02]: More on Fox 1 in a minute.

[SPEAKER_02]: But one team that has already punched their ticket in the class, one of the several are all sent to Stotchers.

[SPEAKER_02]: And they called up their top prospect, the top prospects in the game, outfield our hostway to Paula last week.

[SPEAKER_02]: We've already seen him make an impact already.

[SPEAKER_02]: We're seeing him show power, draw walks,

[SPEAKER_02]: Jeff, as a hitting prospect, we had a piece of last week at Baseball America said, like, we saw Kevin the Gondical coming up at the end of last year.

[SPEAKER_02]: We called him a near perfect hitting prospect before this season.

[SPEAKER_02]: Hoseway to Paula kind of fits in that, like, it's kind of hard to imagine Hoseway to Paula not hitting at the big league level, isn't it?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think so.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think when you look at just the characteristics of who he is as a hitter, beyond the surface level numbers, obviously we have some underlying data, it's stuff that we have access to dating back to 2019 when it became prevalent where there was stat cast, measured measuring devices all throughout finally baseball.

[SPEAKER_04]: There aren't a lot of cops or a lot of hitters

[SPEAKER_04]: that to Paula has I think Kevin McGonagall kind of being the most recent example of somebody who has outlier about to ball skills to Paula has that.

[SPEAKER_04]: He had an 8.8% in zone mist rate this season.

[SPEAKER_04]: Excellent swing decisions is a 22% chase rate with a 45.6% swing rate.

[SPEAKER_04]: We typically look at those two numbers to kind of give us a delta of like how much is he chasing versus how much is the swing rate to kind of contextualize that and then that gives us an idea of what their you know zone swing is he's a guy that has an incredibly high zone swing high heart swing meaning he very rarely misses an opportunity to swing to pitch over the plate.

[SPEAKER_04]: even less so misses one of those pitches over the plate.

[SPEAKER_04]: He hits the ball incredibly hard at a 90th percentile EV of 105 this year.

[SPEAKER_04]: He hits the ball in the air consistently now.

[SPEAKER_04]: He hits the ball hard consistently.

[SPEAKER_04]: Kind of does all the things at the plate that you want.

[SPEAKER_04]: And of course, this is an excellent base dealer as well.

[SPEAKER_04]: So let you look at the totality of the offensive player that the poll is.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's just really impressive.

[SPEAKER_02]: But there is one remaining question.

[SPEAKER_02]: We've already seen this in the big leagues with Jose de Pala, which is on Sunday, he had a double, he had a Homer, he had a walk in three plate appearances, and then they pulled him from the game for a defensive replacement after the sixth inning, and a game that they ended up losing late or later on where they didn't get really any more runs.

[SPEAKER_02]: Josh, how much of a concern is Jose de Pala's outfield defense?

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a big concern, like if he's being removed at this level at this age for defensive replacement, it's not great because it's probably not going to get much better as he gets older.

[SPEAKER_01]: So this is going to be a really offense driven prospect.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Jeff said it better than I could say it.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's hit for average and power and knows the strike so I'm better than most for a player his age or most any age in the minor leagues.

[SPEAKER_01]: But his defensive skills are lacking and they have been lacking for the majority of his career.

[SPEAKER_01]: So

[SPEAKER_01]: all or nearly all of his value is going to come at the plate and on the bases.

[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be very interesting to see if the Dodgers put him on the posts using roster because of just how much they value what his back can do.

[SPEAKER_02]: I would kind of say I've tried to watch a lot of his way to Paula outfield defense in the minor leagues and I would describe him as There are too many plays where it's like, okay, that is a ball that might be catchable and it just be on his reach It's a double, it's a triple or there's a ball where it's hitting the corner on the ground and he falls down and it becomes a double things like that, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: And that's I think that this is going to be a real calculation for the Dodgers when we come to the post season.

[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously there are a lot of teams where you say, okay, we'll just make him a DH.

[SPEAKER_02]: But that's where she'll be a tiny place, or you could say, okay, you know, there's really it's going to be hard even as good as this bad is.

[SPEAKER_02]: they're going to have to have some comfort level with his defense to be able to kind of fit him in to a postseason line up where you again hopefully have a hope if you're the Dodgers, a healthy showy of Tony and you then know that you're really not going to have a DH.

[SPEAKER_02]: You don't want him to just be a pinch hitter.

[SPEAKER_02]: But the funny thing about this, I would say, like this is a guy who I'm not saying he's Uber athletic, but he does have he's been a very successful

[SPEAKER_02]: you kind of seen him his impact on the base pass as well as hitting for power.

[SPEAKER_02]: You both, you and Jeff both kind of put together to the staff.

[SPEAKER_02]: But it is a pretty special when you see a guy who has this combination of power, stolen bases, and contact in the minor leagues.

[SPEAKER_02]: You don't see this very often.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think Jeff found someone in 2006.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think the numbers were 30 doubles, 25 homers, and 25 stolen bases with fewer than 100 strikeouts in a given season.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's one of, I think, two, I didn't find anybody else in, no, there's no one else.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, in two decades to do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that speaks to how rare his season is, but I kind of wanted to bounce off something you said, JJ, about the calculations for the postseason roster.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you remember, I mean, obviously the Dodgers won the World Series last year, that last game turned on defense, from Miguel Rojas or Andy Pochay, who never had a reputation as an astron-defender,

[SPEAKER_01]: get to that ball that would have won the Blue Jays the World Series and grasp it by running over Keke Hernandez.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that's the kind of things these games come down to.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if it's a lesser defender there, you know, the Blue Jays might be the World Series winners this last year.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's going to be a real calculation come October.

[SPEAKER_02]: But I also don't want to over underemphasize the other part, Jeff, which is there's also even at this incredibly young age, if you ask me which Dodgers hitters are going to put together the best at bats in a crucial situation.

[SPEAKER_02]: I feel very good about Jose de Paul is chances of not striking out if he comes up in a key moment.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think that's, you know, where he would potentially fit onto the roster, especially when they've had some struggles this season with, you know, Kyle Tucker and T. Oscar Hernandez and other guys that he could potentially hit, hit, hit for in a big spot.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I think that's probably where the, the politics in and probably why he will be on the postseason roster for them.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because he can produce and I think even what we've seen in a short sample size in the big leagues, knowing what the hit tool is, and just the bad speed numbers that we're getting on to Paula are pretty outrageous.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I think they'll keep him around for the reason that in the right spot he could be really useful.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we are seeing some questions already coming, but if you haven't gotten your questions in, and you want us to give them an answer, put them in now, we will get to that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Arizona Folly Grosters have dropped, and we have the full roster's 11 top 100 prospects on the roster's a ton of coverage over at baseballamerican.com.

[SPEAKER_02]: Josh, I got to come to you first.

[SPEAKER_02]: You are the giant fan of theirs on a following.

[SPEAKER_02]: Head out there every year, who are some of the players that you are most excited and fans should be most excited to see in the years on a following?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you just saw him on your screen right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Eduardo Quintero, another outfielder from the Dodgers, who, you know, I fell in love with the first swing I saw, a couple of fallies, a spring trainings ago in Arizona.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was one of those swings that you just see it, and you go, okay, I think I slacked everyone, so this guy's gonna be a top 50 prospect someday, and I undersold it a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's an outstanding prospect.

[SPEAKER_01]: Someone asked me the other day in our hot sheet chat.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you could be a 65 future value player, and I said absolutely, he has a chance to provide value on all sides of the ball and, you know, you've got a great from outside the organization, and inside the organization that say he could be a double plus defender in center field, which there's already a ton of value right there and gives him a really high floor.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he's a good hitter and he hits for power too.

[SPEAKER_01]: He has a chance to be really special down that list.

[SPEAKER_01]: You see, Dex killed me with the Yankees.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he had a chance to overtake George Lombard this year as the number one prospect in that system, but he was injured most of the year, and Lombard's about to graduate, so it's kind of a trap-traveling on parallel tracks that are not going to intersect with one other.

[SPEAKER_01]: Harlan Susanna, I haven't seen him since before the surgery, but he throws really hard and has a devastating slyer, I'm excited to see him, Bryce Rainer looks, you know, rejuvenated, since

[SPEAKER_01]: kick in the rust off after his injury to meet real Chris Santas can hit hit and hit some more.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then Charles Davelon and other Dodgers outfielder will, we'll see where he plays.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, make it some time in the infield and the outfield to help break up their long jam at the top with a lot of outfield prospects.

[SPEAKER_02]: Jeff, one of the things that stands out here to me is also we've got some guys here.

[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously it's a very positioned player heavy list of the

[SPEAKER_02]: Josh mentioned them, but how excited are you to see more of Harlan Susanna?

[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like the AFL could be very important for him kind of getting ready for 27.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and I think something, you know, Susanna got hit more, I think then we had anticipated in his return from a right lap surgery that he underwent at the end of last year.

[SPEAKER_04]: So about a year ago, got back into AA at the end of the season, but I'm not mistaken.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think it was 22 strikeouts to four walks over 11 and a third innings in the return.

[SPEAKER_04]: to double A was obviously only run out for a couple of innings there.

[SPEAKER_04]: So the command that control was actually there, the strikeouts, the swing and messed stuff was there.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's getting hit a little bit more than I think we anticipated he would be and was hit pretty hard at that.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm excited to see him.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm excited to see Brandon Clark as well.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think these are

[SPEAKER_04]: arguably the hardest right-handed picture in the minor leagues and arguably the hardest left-handed picture in the minor leagues.

[SPEAKER_04]: And two of the hardest throwers in professional baseball.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I think there's maybe some interesting, some interesting arms here in the AFL.

[SPEAKER_04]: Another one that I'll throw out there is pure storage of the white socks who had a really good season as a reliever.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's another triple

[SPEAKER_04]: in the AFL we're going to have an article later today, up on baseball America going through all the guys that hit triple digits that are pitching in the AFL this fall.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, you know, I think there's some interesting arms here, certainly excited to see Sussan again, always want to see more branding Clark.

[SPEAKER_04]: I other than Jacob Miserowski, there's not many guys that are as electric for one inning or one at bat as branded Clark is.

[SPEAKER_02]: I, I was also one note of Clark like you are talking about that is why we talk about how their, your triple digits is more common, triple digits for the left side is still a very rare thing to see.

[SPEAKER_02]: Lefties just don't be.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think there are 10 lefties who've touched 100 in the major league this year, just 10.

[SPEAKER_02]: Think the number on the right hand side is more like 60, 65, 70 or something like that.

[SPEAKER_02]: So like it is a still very rare to see lefties who throw that hard.

[SPEAKER_02]: Josh to kind of give a, people a little bit of a bigger picture also.

[SPEAKER_02]: Expect to see a lot of offense, expect to see a lot of homeruns, but what is kind of like what do you if you're a fangirling out to the ears on a folly for the first time?

[SPEAKER_02]: What are some of the things that you should expect if you check it out?

[SPEAKER_01]: should expect a more relaxed atmosphere than you see at minor league games, which aren't exactly pressure cookers to begin with, but the stands are not going to be filled.

[SPEAKER_01]: Mostly, it's usually friends, family, autographs, seekers, scouts, and people like me in the stands watching these games.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you can have your choice of seeds.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to see guys who are going to be in the big leagues next year.

[SPEAKER_01]: get a lot of foul balls if you're a kid or a parent of a child who wants a foul ball.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not like a minorly game, there's no mascots, there's no between any game, there's no mascot race is obviously, there's no post game fireworks, I imagine that would be devastating in the desert and very hard to pull off.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's just baseball and, you know, it's six weeks of the year and there's a lot of prospects There's a lot of suspects and there's going to be a lot of guys who you will see in the big leagues in prominent roles next year So it's a fun time.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love it because the weather is usually really good It's like I said a chill atmosphere and there's a lot of talent there.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm beyond the the

[SPEAKER_01]: Top 100 guys that we listed.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's under the radar guys, there are a little name I always go to for names I always go to for some reason are Will Vest and Alex Vesia, who obviously didn't come into the following with a whole lot of fanfare, but have carved out long weekly careers.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if you look hard enough, you can find guys like that on the top 100 names who will be in the desert for six weeks.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think in a perfect example last year, as Owen Ayers at this time last year, it was in the years on a following that kind of jumped out that Owen Ayers looks like a much better hitter.

[SPEAKER_02]: We saw that all this year.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's kind of turned himself into a top prospect.

[SPEAKER_02]: That was not something that was very much on the radar at all, going into the years on a following last year.

[SPEAKER_02]: Jeff, one of the other guys that really stands up to me, we saw him on that list of top 100 prospects.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think the most notable thing about Caleb Bonner, who, among the miners, lears and homers this year, 38 bombs played in high and double-eye.

[SPEAKER_02]: But probably most significantly, the thing that we're going to see him more regularly do in the AFL is playing the outfit.

[SPEAKER_02]: He started playing a little bit of center field in the year, played short and third-base primarily.

[SPEAKER_02]: You look at the white socks and I know they have a lot of outfielders too, but it obviously, this could be a step for him, getting him ready for hopefully a big league roll at some point in twenty twenty seven, I would imagine.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know, I think, you know, bottomer playing the outfield is like one of those quintessential sort of AFL narratives and story lines where.

[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody goes out there to get work at a different position pitchers learning new pitch guys are maybe making adjustments to their swings and can sort of be that like first stone in the path of you know sort of moving to the outfield full time he's a better runner than I think people realize is always kind of tested that way.

[SPEAKER_04]: you'll get above average run times on him, and obviously steal some basses as well.

[SPEAKER_04]: So maybe utilizing that speed in a more straight line capacity and getting him to like a fringe average corner outfield defender, I think goes a long way.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's not a great in fielder that's always been a knock on him.

[SPEAKER_04]: No one thinks effort that he's gonna stick at short stop, but I don't think definitely didn't think third bass was a likely outcome either.

[SPEAKER_04]: because of what the demands are on that side of the end field.

[SPEAKER_04]: But certainly could probably handle left or right fields.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I think when you look at the roster construction of the white socks, probably fits into their long-term picture a little bit better as a corner out field, guys.

[SPEAKER_04]: not a lot of pressure on him out there.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is a tough place to play the outfield in my opinion.

[SPEAKER_04]: His big skies kind of like you see down in Florida and spring training where, you know, there's not a contrast with clouds and that's sort of thing against it.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's a lot of daygames.

[SPEAKER_04]: So it will be a good test for him as well.

[SPEAKER_04]: So it will be interesting to see

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, him and that Glendale outfield, which, by the way, is one of the more interesting and talented groups of positional groups among AFL teens this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but that is when you talk about outfield defense and Arizona sky, that's the worst one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Camelback Ranch has been, you know, named Melanoma Ranch for a reason.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's right in the sun and I've seen multiple players drop balls 40 feet behind them.

[SPEAKER_01]: I drop balls.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just miss them.

[SPEAKER_01]: They go up, they don't see it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It lands 40 feet behind them and you just have to chalk it up to the Arizona sky.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it'll be a really good test.

[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know,

[SPEAKER_01]: Bonamer being from the White Sox has been around that particular backfield and big field for his entire career.

[SPEAKER_02]: I just wanted to note with that also, like they've had him started playing center field.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's smart because while it may seem like, well, center field is the most taxing outfield position where most range required.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's also the easiest reads, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: So get comfortable making reads in center field and then move to the corners where the ball's slicing a lot more, you're having a little bit tougher time kind of figuring it all out.

[SPEAKER_02]: Smart, smart move by the white sucks there will be very interesting to see how his defense

[SPEAKER_02]: may improve by going out to the AFL.

[SPEAKER_02]: So let's look at the AFL.

[SPEAKER_02]: We have a number of questions from you guys.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I want to touch on what's going on in the M-I-L-B playoffs.

[SPEAKER_02]: We are back, and there has been full and camp comment that I wanna start us off with before we get here.

[SPEAKER_02]: Not question, but a comment that I think we need to touch on because it's perfect setting us up for a while.

[SPEAKER_02]: We could talk about what's like well on this week.

[SPEAKER_02]: Ben will be at the mid-west league championship series game tonight in Dayton.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's hoping that Justin LeBron, the Reds first run pick, snaps his cold streak to the playoffs, but I just bring that up because Josh is getting ready to go out and see Jackson Flora, the Giants first ground pick.

[SPEAKER_02]: who's been added to the double a Richmond roster, but we got a lot of plans.

[SPEAKER_02]: Playoffs are going on right now tonight, double a, high a and low a.

[SPEAKER_02]: We could see class a champions, crowned as soon as I'm going to be at the Fayetteville one tonight too.

[SPEAKER_02]: So, so yes, but you're going to see Flora, how excited are you and what are you looking for when you see?

[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's a between Jackson, Flora and Jacob, Brisbane, a hand.

[SPEAKER_02]: That is the the pride of the giant's pitching staff,

[SPEAKER_02]: on one roster.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm excited to see Flora.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've actually seen him before, but he wasn't anywhere near Jackson, Flora with big capital letters and an underlying under him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was in the cold at Campbell University in February or something, and he was pretty good, and he was second starter to Tyler Bremner, but he's obviously got a lot better since then.

[SPEAKER_01]: press everyone this year Jacob Rudner our college guy is a huge fan and I'm excited to come into this with a fairly blank slate and you don't get to do that very often.

[SPEAKER_01]: I saw Jacob President Ham last week and he was outstanding.

[SPEAKER_01]: He took the first thing to kind of warm up a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was kind of just met that first inning but from getting two through seven he turned it on and you know his fastball doesn't light up the radar gun but it's certainly moves

[SPEAKER_01]: issues with it all day combined with a really nasty change up and that was I think the best start of this career shout out to be a alum Connor glassy who was the signing scout when President Han was with Clea been before we get a trade for Alex Cobb so I'm excited to see those guys and there's some other guys on the

[SPEAKER_01]: They're facing areas that's Bryce Rainer and Zire Hope, who will also be in the fall league, shout out to last segment.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be a fun day and possibly too, depending on how the series goes, but yeah, I'm really excited to see Jackson Flora and figure out what he looks like.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, next up, we have Sammy Boy Smith, who has speaking of Ho's way to Paula, think JDP will make showy and Tucker's numbers better too.

[SPEAKER_02]: I just hope his defense is improving under the tutelage of Jason Hayward.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'll take this one to say, improving maybe, but it still has a long ways to go.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, we are seeing that already at the big league level, there are intentions to DHM, DHM as much as they can.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's going to be something that very much monitor of these next few weeks, but I will say he's not going to turn into a

[SPEAKER_02]: The fender that you are comfortable with leaving out there in the left field every night over the rest of the regular season is just not enough time.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, maybe that's the hope for 27 and beyond, but it is definitely something to kind of keep an eye on for now.

[SPEAKER_02]: We also have a Carlos LaGron Hey question I believe coming up next, which is Jonathan asks, where do you see Carlos LaGron Hey after the season?

[SPEAKER_02]: looking at you guys either one of you off, not I'll take it, but Jeff, I'll I'll tell you up for a minute.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, he's supposed to potentially return in the next week or so, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: Like he just threw a bullpen.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think was the last note that I had seen on it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is he pitching tonight?

[SPEAKER_01]: It's, I think someone on Twitter mentioned he's going to get some action tonight, which, like the way they ordered it, but yeah, you get a pitch.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, all right, then that kind of just I figured he was going to get a couple of earnings before the end of the year.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's in the 40 man roster.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I guess he could get added to an AFL roster Josh like that wouldn't be shocking if they wanted to get him some work in that kind of capacity.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, probably going to see the next week as a reliever now.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think so too, but you know, after this season is kind of ambiguous, if he looks good in these and outing or two down the stretch with the last few days of scranton season, maybe give him a shot on the postseason roster, like that's a really live arm and he could help you in the big leagues, especially because most hitters, most hitters are not familiar with him.

[SPEAKER_01]: You don't get too many guys that are 100 with that slider.

[SPEAKER_01]: that is very true.

[SPEAKER_04]: So if the context is after the season meeting the postseason and yes, I think he could be on that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's right.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Ben Fulicap had one that's kind of similar to this, which is, how do rosters get to side of the AFL?

[SPEAKER_02]: For example, if multiple teams want to send over a short stop, is there any process to determine who gets priority?

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I'll give this the best answer I can, which is from what I understand,

[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of back and forth, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it's like a U of first priority on shortstop this year because you had second priority last year, whatever.

[SPEAKER_02]: But there is very much, it is a mix and match of, okay, here are our priority guys.

[SPEAKER_02]: And here are guys who can go to Phil Spots.

[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone has to put some arms out there.

[SPEAKER_02]: But from that, you've got to cover innings.

[SPEAKER_02]: But I would say, like, if, obviously, if you have five teams who are all filling a roster, and they all say they want to send a short stop, the answer is no, you can't all have short stuff.

[SPEAKER_02]: However, then the follow-up question often becomes is one of these guys, someone you would be comfortable playing at second base pretty regularly or whatever.

[SPEAKER_02]: And it goes back and forth.

[SPEAKER_02]: There is a reason that these rosters get released when they do.

[SPEAKER_02]: There is a lot of back and forth between farm directors, MI, MLB, officials for teams, and the errors in a folly to try to put together the most

[SPEAKER_02]: complete rosters that they can for this.

[SPEAKER_02]: And again, it does become a little bit also of a mix of matches and during the season, because players will leave other players will join, put it all together.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of tough to piece together.
