[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but I enjoy the trolls too because that's fun for me because that gives me that gets me going that gets me all Riled up and I love being riled up.

[SPEAKER_08]: I don't like reading stuff on line on other forums that I can't respond to immediately, but here I won't miss this actual chemistry.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm counting on Josh to develop an AI mic to continue the show.

[SPEAKER_08]: You know what?

[SPEAKER_08]: That's a good place to start because I didn't get to it yesterday.

[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_08]: So in the last two days, last 48 hours, I and I might be late to the party on this because people have gotten it sooner.

[SPEAKER_08]: I have seen on my feed not only,

[SPEAKER_08]: put a script in and get a podcast like I guess you put it in some AI program and then it shits out a podcast voice and everything but a full link feature film put a script in and they will they will make a movie out of it.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's where we are.

[SPEAKER_09]: Well I remember it had to have been two years ago because Josh wasn't with us yet.

[SPEAKER_09]: When AI was in its infancy, and I went into, I believe it was chat GPT, and I said, here is the show, and here are the three principles, write a bit, write a scripted bit, and what they gave me was not only useless, it was almost unreadable.

[SPEAKER_09]: But you have to admit AI has made great strides in two years.

[SPEAKER_07]: If you go in with that same prompt of make a bit for the three of us, it'll be stupid.

[SPEAKER_07]: You have to hold a tan and treat it like a dumb assistant and tell it what you want to do.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'll tell you what a I can do and at least as far as I am concerned with a can do what they can do is they can curate news, which I rely on every day instead of the places that I used to rely on where they curated the news DJ curated.

[SPEAKER_08]: The DJ curated, I have found that to be a huge improvement for my personally.

[SPEAKER_08]: What they cannot do on AI is produce an outline of this show.

[SPEAKER_08]: I have never found anything that I can use at all that now.

[SPEAKER_08]: If I had a particular subject that I wanted to do a deep dive on, I probably could get some knowledge out of it, but I don't really use it for that.

[SPEAKER_07]: There are softwares that are advertising now on websites where if you are a writer and you write blogs and long-form stuff that you can take that article and put it in there and it'll make a podcast.

[SPEAKER_07]: And it'll make it sound like two robots talking to each other about your time.

[SPEAKER_09]: So it's not even a script.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's actually a generated piece of audio, and they try to make it sound human.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's not quite there yet.

[SPEAKER_09]: I don't think it can work because of the frequent left turns of the show takes.

[SPEAKER_09]: And that is part of the charm of this show is that you know, we lay out 10 12 topics we want to touch on before the show starts and how often is that we don't get to any of them.

[SPEAKER_09]: No.

[SPEAKER_09]: And then we'll put in a question.

[SPEAKER_07]: No.

[SPEAKER_07]: If that has stopped me, it can probably do audio books very soon.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think so.

[SPEAKER_08]: I, but it, to me, it is for whatever reason, this particular week, and we do keep our finger on the pulse of what people are kind of going batch it about online.

[SPEAKER_08]: And that seems to be AI.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's in the news again today.

[SPEAKER_08]: It seems to be every day.

[SPEAKER_08]: I have another example of that.

[SPEAKER_08]: But, you know, AI is not going to tell me to tell my listeners

[SPEAKER_07]: I made an episode of the Michael Mayer Show with AI.

[SPEAKER_07]: We did it three, four months ago, we did a TMOS extra completely in AI and what I had it do is when Robin I went to King's Dominion, we wore microphones.

[SPEAKER_07]: And we walked around the park for six eight hours and recorded everything and that to a point where we literally forgot we were wearing micro right Yeah, but it was still you, but yeah, that's the thing that's what I did that's way too much time to go through so I gave it to the AI machine

[SPEAKER_07]: and told it to find parts of this conversation that are entertaining and clip that down and then gave us a 90 second podcast.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and it's always entertaining.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's it's own AI voice.

[SPEAKER_07]: to craft a story around the audio.

[SPEAKER_07]: So it would come in with its robot.

[SPEAKER_08]: Well, what did you think of it, Rob?

[SPEAKER_08]: What did you think of it?

[SPEAKER_09]: It was, you know what?

[SPEAKER_09]: It was beyond listenable.

[SPEAKER_09]: I found it entertaining.

[SPEAKER_08]: It was, but it was a very weird comment.

[SPEAKER_09]: No, I mean, it wasn't anything to explain what that means.

[SPEAKER_08]: It was to a point that was beyond listenable.

[SPEAKER_09]: I was okay putting it up as an extra and listening to it, it was a little surreal because it was us, but us through the eyes of a lens that wasn't us.

[SPEAKER_09]: Does that make sense?

[SPEAKER_08]: And it was endless and a bold translated with that be another way of saying it was better than you expected.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yes, yeah.

[SPEAKER_09]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_09]: It was way better than I expected.

[SPEAKER_09]: We would have put up something that was listenable and it exceeded that is what I meant by saying beyond listenable.

[SPEAKER_09]: It found moment.

[SPEAKER_09]: I mean when you're looking at literally nine hours of tape and it found the moments that I remembered from the original nine hours and clipped them and put them together and I did not include Josh and I in the restroom, which was nice.

[SPEAKER_09]: It did not have that.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_09]: So I knew what to do.

[SPEAKER_08]: I like A.I.

[SPEAKER_08]: Mike's anger just isn't the real one, right?

[SPEAKER_07]: It's true.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's very true.

[SPEAKER_07]: What it would do Mike, is it would find a clip of us, and it would, the A.I.

[SPEAKER_07]: narrator would come in and paint the picture.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, would say Robin Josh have just left, uh, candy grove.

[SPEAKER_07]: and now they are handing out over of Janet Apple Grove.

[SPEAKER_07]: And now they are heading on to roller coaster.

[SPEAKER_07]: We're Rob not only rides the roller coaster, but makes a friend.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: And then it goes to our audio of Rob on the roller coaster.

[SPEAKER_08]: With an eight year old.

[SPEAKER_08]: Was there a giant factor to it with the app?

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, a little bit.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_09]: But you know what the content it used was still us.

[SPEAKER_08]: Could you pick the, uh, could you pick the narrator?

[SPEAKER_08]: Could you pick the type of voice you would use?

[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, you could a little bit, I geared it towards the most human sound and one they had at the time, so I'm sure with more software and now that it's been six months, you could do even better.

[SPEAKER_07]: Um, but it did a great job of painting the picture and transition in from scene to scene.

[SPEAKER_07]: It put the music that it picked up from when we recorded in front of the singing frogs.

[SPEAKER_07]: And it put that behind the narrator.

[SPEAKER_07]: So it all worked and sounded like it was a great picture.

[SPEAKER_09]: That's the multi track mix was pretty impressive.

[SPEAKER_09]: But it was weird to listen back to it.

[SPEAKER_09]: I really was.

[SPEAKER_08]: I, you know, it looked.

[SPEAKER_09]: I think it's still available at TMOspodcast.com.

[SPEAKER_08]: Here's my, and it's funny, just a moment ago, I was talking to some friends of mine and we were discussing AI and we were discussing the fact that I gave them my opinion on it and I think that what my opinion is is that the danger with AI is that you are going to eradicate

[SPEAKER_08]: labor in the United States.

[SPEAKER_08]: And elsewhere, there's no way it can't.

[SPEAKER_08]: You've got labor, especially intellectual labor, that is going to go by the wayside.

[SPEAKER_09]: But at the very base of it, how is it different than the, say, the Industrial Revolution in 1890?

[SPEAKER_07]: the an automation came in and got rid of people's yeah and yeah meaningless jobs no but like the railroad those used to be hammered in by humans and then they made a machine that could do it yeah well i think i think that the difference is

[SPEAKER_08]: the speed and the size of AI.

[SPEAKER_08]: The fact that AI is so all encompassing, I really do believe there will be a challenge to the labor force in the United States.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I think that it will be so significant

[SPEAKER_08]: that there will have to be some sort of plan to prop people up.

[SPEAKER_08]: You just can't leave people out in the cold when AI eliminates jobs.

[SPEAKER_08]: You can't, I mean, you, and I think there are going to be so many

[SPEAKER_09]: So many jobs eliminated that you're going to have a, you're going to have to come up with some solutions to that people are resilient and we've gone through phases like this in the past with like the assembly line or automation.

[SPEAKER_08]: the history.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I understand that, but it's not the same.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's not the same.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's bigger.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's more significant.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I think that you're going to have, you know, I'm talking about, in our business, Rob.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_08]: Copy writers.

[SPEAKER_09]: uh... news people uh... you know journalists but you're still going to need television content i feel like years away from people that aren't going to require we're still going to require editors we're still going to require people to present it we're still going to require the people that search the topics that we want written for us one analogy that i love is that

[SPEAKER_09]: A.I.

[SPEAKER_09]: is like an intern that must be watched closely, where you can make it do all the same work.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think that's that's too soft.

[SPEAKER_08]: I know that.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: I really think it is like an assistant where it can't do things on a tone, but I can give it tasks and monitor it and give it really clear directions and it'll do it and it'll do it faster than me and it'll get it done.

[SPEAKER_07]: I have to inspect it afterwards.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: But it does the work and it gets it done.

[SPEAKER_07]: I think it won't replace.

[SPEAKER_07]: Right now, and they don't keep getting better, but I don't think it'll ever replace.

[SPEAKER_07]: Someone is always going to have to guide it because it's not human.

[SPEAKER_07]: It doesn't have a personality.

[SPEAKER_07]: And for something like this, it doesn't know comedy.

[SPEAKER_08]: No, it doesn't do comedy.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's like sure.

[SPEAKER_08]: That's definitely true.

[SPEAKER_07]: We've been leaning on the AI images because they catch your eye.

[SPEAKER_07]: They're funny.

[SPEAKER_07]: We don't sometimes they look like us many times.

[SPEAKER_07]: They don't.

[SPEAKER_09]: One of my favorite things is when an image comes up, that doesn't look like us at all.

[SPEAKER_09]: I think that's, while we're entertaining.

[SPEAKER_07]: I like it when they stretch my forehead out.

[SPEAKER_07]: As simple one for the AI was a few weeks ago where we had a title card like hand-bredded chicken.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, because we're talking about the guy with the messed up hand-bredded chicken.

[SPEAKER_07]: But what the AI did is make your hand a branded piece of chicken because AI doesn't understand things.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and I have that very funny.

[SPEAKER_07]: And it was funny, so we left it.

[SPEAKER_08]: A.I.

[SPEAKER_08]: Learns.

[SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_08]: It learns, it learns from me, it learns what I want, it learns how I want it, what we put in it, yes.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yeah, but I'm not talking about the evil monster that's going to kill us all.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm talking about the labor force and jobs that have been done by people for a very long time that will be eliminated with AI.

[SPEAKER_07]: But it's already happened, but it'll open up more doors.

[SPEAKER_07]: because it'll allow people who are creative, like me, I'm not a great computer programmer.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm okay, but I'm not great, but I have a mind and know what I want, and I am able to then direct the AI to do more than I can handle in my own, that I will get as a mind drop.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I think, I think you will...

[SPEAKER_09]: I've already closed the past few weeks, and I'm worried.

[SPEAKER_09]: I'm worried about working with Josh, more than I am about to.

[SPEAKER_09]: I wish Josh would learn.

[SPEAKER_07]: Jesus, Jesus, I know you know I'm kidding you, but all right, it'll open up doors just like everything else The clear news is careers My hands have been up so far.

[SPEAKER_09]: We've always evolved and we've always resilient.

[SPEAKER_08]: I mean No, I mean I've said that you're misinterpreting what I'm saying.

[SPEAKER_08]: I am not saying.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's the end of the world.

[SPEAKER_08]: I am saying that

[SPEAKER_08]: things will have to change.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, to help the people that will be affected by it.

[SPEAKER_08]: I would be kind of a community of grieving perhaps.

[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I think you're on the right track.

[SPEAKER_09]: And I think the only person left that sort of has that Dolly Parton essence to them as a celebrity might be Dick Van Dyke.

[SPEAKER_09]: But even Dick Van Dyke does an approach Dolly Parton because I don't think he did a lot of good like charity work.

[SPEAKER_08]: I will tell you that my own situation when I was a much younger person and I had grown up and seen my drumming idol buddy Rich in concert 11 times, and he had a lot of health issues,

[SPEAKER_08]: He ended up dying rather suddenly by going in for an operation, a brain operation, and he died on the table, essentially.

[SPEAKER_08]: And so I remember just scattering the albums around, and but where does the para come into that?

[SPEAKER_08]: It was a big part of my childhood dream when I was like probably 13 and brought an album home and my dad would get home about 530 in the afternoon and we ended up listening to it before dinner.

[SPEAKER_08]: We went into the kitchen.

[SPEAKER_08]: We went back out and I told 11 o'clock at night in the den.

[SPEAKER_08]: We were listening to our buddy Rich's album.

[SPEAKER_09]: You shared with your father and that I mean so that's a symbolic death.

[SPEAKER_09]: I can think of a couple that hit me pretty hard.

[SPEAKER_08]: I wanted to say of all the, you know, you love grief.

[SPEAKER_08]: You are obsessed with it.

[SPEAKER_09]: I had plenty of it lately.

[SPEAKER_09]: And it's not grief as much as I like celebrity death, because they're like what it symbolizes.

[SPEAKER_08]: I've always been curious because you have a lot of it and I don't count Elvis because you were too liberal when I was going to say that.

[SPEAKER_09]: I mean, I regret that Elvis didn't go further with his career, but by the time I was aware of Elvis, I was, you know, he was gone.

[SPEAKER_09]: He's always been going to me.

[SPEAKER_08]: But as far as celebrity passing, do you have any memory of a celebrity death that was kind of a gut shot?

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, absolutely.

[SPEAKER_09]: Now this will surprise you.

[SPEAKER_09]: not Jerry Lewis.

[SPEAKER_09]: Jerry Lewis passed when we were on vacation and my phone exploded with listeners and friends and family, but Jerry was old.

[SPEAKER_09]: Jerry had given, yeah, he had given us everything that he had to give and he had, I mean, I was ready for that.

[SPEAKER_09]: Um, a big symbolic death for me was Frank Sinatra, but he was old too.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_09]: I, I grieved Frank because, is that, can you use grief as an active herb?

[SPEAKER_09]: I felt grief for Frank because his passing marked the passage of an era.

[SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_09]: I think the hardest death that I've had to deal with in my life was George Harrison.

[SPEAKER_09]: because George was really I know that I go on and on about Paul, but you were prepared for that too, right?

[SPEAKER_08]: Because he was sick for a while.

[SPEAKER_09]: Not really.

[SPEAKER_09]: They didn't really let on how sick he was.

[SPEAKER_09]: There was if you remember back then he had survived a stabbing from a guy that broke into a mentally unfit guy.

[SPEAKER_09]: I remember that.

[SPEAKER_09]: That broke into it.

[SPEAKER_09]: And so they said that he was recovering from that.

[SPEAKER_09]: But outside of his inner circle, I don't think anyone really anticipated the fact that

[SPEAKER_09]: And why talk about Paul George has always been my favorite beetle.

[SPEAKER_09]: I think there is a sweetness and an inherent talent and an understatedness about him.

[SPEAKER_08]: He's kids got it too.

[SPEAKER_08]: His kids got it.

[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, Danny is amazing.

[SPEAKER_09]: He looks so much like him.

[SPEAKER_09]: And then you think, well, I guess a lot of people went with, well, they'll never be a reunion.

[SPEAKER_09]: I never thought there would be a beetles reunion.

[SPEAKER_09]: But what really struck me is that I just don't get any more George.

[SPEAKER_09]: I don't get him coming on to a talk show and saying that Paul's being a dick or I don't get him to do.

[SPEAKER_09]: He did the stuff with the traveling wilderness that was so much fun.

[SPEAKER_08]: I never would have picked that one.

[SPEAKER_08]: You know, I, I, I, I, and you met him, you jerk.

[SPEAKER_09]: You did a great hour dedicated to Prince.

[SPEAKER_09]: And that was another one that I don't think people appreciated Prince as much as they do now until he passed.

[SPEAKER_09]: And they started to realize all he did and the sounds that he created.

[SPEAKER_09]: And he just came out with an album of his incomplete and track stuff that they found.

[SPEAKER_09]: He's got hours of stuff.

[SPEAKER_09]: And there's a couple good songs on it.

[SPEAKER_09]: It's just like, wow, I wish he'd been around to finish this album.

[SPEAKER_08]: You know, you hear the term a life well-lived, and you know, when it comes to celebrities in particular, I think it's extraordinarily difficult to be famous at that level for that amount of time when you talk about somebody like Dolly Parton and to be so incredibly cherished by the public.

[SPEAKER_08]: And yet grounded.

[SPEAKER_08]: and grounded, and it's just, it makes you realize when you see somebody like Donley Parton, just how hard that is to do, and that is really, really amazing when someone goes like, Donley, because nobody said anything bad about her.

[SPEAKER_09]: I thought when we talk about being grounded, there's a story that when he was like eight years old, Danny Harrison came home and asked his dad, dad, people at school said something about you.

[SPEAKER_09]: He said, what?

[SPEAKER_09]: Is it true you were in the Beatles?

[SPEAKER_09]: And he said,

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I was, but he never burdened his son with the notion that he was one of the former famous people in the world.

[SPEAKER_08]: He didn't dig the all the accoutrement that went along.

[SPEAKER_09]: And you can see it.

[SPEAKER_09]: There's the last film of them when they got together to do anthology and it's George and Ringo and Paul and George just looks

[SPEAKER_09]: is to be there.

[SPEAKER_09]: He doesn't want to relive the past.

[SPEAKER_09]: He doesn't want to look at Paul bossom around again.

[SPEAKER_09]: Make no mistake.

[SPEAKER_09]: The thing about Paul is they would say don't answer the phone.

[SPEAKER_08]: Let me tell you, if you're, you know, if there is a look in the ability to look down and see what they're saying about you, I would imagine the Catherine O'Hara had to be just so.

[SPEAKER_08]: just so delighted with that, because they painted a picture of her as being such a sweetheart, and then even in her perfectionism that apparently she had when she was working, she was still sweet.

[SPEAKER_08]: Sweet about, you know, doing that.

[SPEAKER_09]: That then you would get emails and say, a few thoughts.

[SPEAKER_08]: They're so funny.

[SPEAKER_09]: So funny.

[SPEAKER_02]: Just a couple of thoughts.

[SPEAKER_09]: But if you're dealing with it, you're dealing with it, acknowledge your feelings.

[SPEAKER_09]: Don't pretend they don't exist.

[SPEAKER_09]: You've got to grab it and know that it's there and face it, because it isn't going anywhere.

[SPEAKER_08]: I think that another one that jumps off the page, even though once again, kind of expected bad health, George Carlin.

[SPEAKER_08]: And you know, because, and when you talk about, I saw a couple of our chatter talking about Norm.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_08]: Norm McDonald.

[SPEAKER_08]: It is truly amazing.

[SPEAKER_08]: The Gilbert, too, I think.

[SPEAKER_08]: Gilbert got to you to an extent, but the thing about Norm McDonald is that Norm McDonald in death,

[SPEAKER_08]: just got a surge of popularity and I love it when that happens because then you end up getting giving him you know what he deserves, which is the notoriety he probably didn't have in life.

[SPEAKER_09]: I love it, but I hate it.

[SPEAKER_09]: Don't you wish that Norm was able to see how much he meant to everybody?

[SPEAKER_09]: He might have suspected it.

[SPEAKER_07]: But it tells me that he was a little ahead of his time, that he's having a really connected with the generation behind them.

[SPEAKER_08]: And the idea of that is so rare in comedy, it is so rare in acting, it is so, and very few people have it.

[SPEAKER_09]: And you know, I think it works great for Norm because grief is twisted.

[SPEAKER_09]: He fits well in sort of a grieving pattern.

[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know how much riding to the different shopping venues, but you get a lot of the people that are just out there tooling around.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, they'll have golf paths and stuff to make.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, short legal, but I once had to pull over because I walked a lady on a golf cart try to cross the street, hit the curb crashing to a bush and fall out of the golf cart into the bush.

[SPEAKER_07]: And actually they're drinking.

[SPEAKER_07]: She was so out of it.

[SPEAKER_08]: I saw a video where, you know, they do the police videos that we all like to watch and there was a this particular lady was loaded and they had the jurisdiction that she was arguing about but she got busted.

[SPEAKER_08]: She got a legitimate DUI for driving in the golf cart.

[SPEAKER_07]: This lady showed a head one.

[SPEAKER_07]: I had Owen with me at the time and I told him to stay in the truck.

[SPEAKER_07]: and i guess he was sticking his head out the window to look and he she looked at me and said that's a beautiful dog you have oh wow really so she was justified she yes but i had the finally she was nice i pulled the golf cart out of the ditch and she hopped right on that thing and started driving off oh really and yeah did you uh smell on the alcohol honor

[SPEAKER_07]: The Stanley Cups build wine everywhere.

[SPEAKER_09]: With its location on the Anacostri River, it does have a water view and you'll see some of the monuments.

[SPEAKER_09]: Now, when you see a commander's game on television and they show like the Capitol or the Lincoln Memorial, know this, the commanders play about 20 miles away from all of that stuff.

[SPEAKER_09]: They're in land over Maryland.

[SPEAKER_09]: So everyone's excited that they're coming back to DC.

[SPEAKER_09]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_09]: And so they revealed pictures today.

[SPEAKER_08]: This is going to be near where the original stadium was.

[SPEAKER_09]: Uh, not too far from it.

[SPEAKER_07]: I thought they tore down RFK and RFK is going to be the parking lot for this stadium.

[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know if it's the exact same footprint, but it is the same neighborhood.

[SPEAKER_09]: And it's going to be a huge development.

[SPEAKER_09]: And they revealed today the AI pictures of the way the stadium is going to look.

[SPEAKER_09]: And the AI pictures are great, but I do kind of laugh deep down because you know, I was like everyone in the city.

[SPEAKER_09]: I was mistreated by your Washington Commander's Nay Redskins, and so if I'm still a fan, I still root for them, but if something bad happens to the organization, it doesn't break my heart.

[SPEAKER_09]: They had a heartbreaking season opener, and I know they wanted to win so bad, so when they revealed these pictures, it would be, hey, we're undefeated, and here's what the stadiums are going to look like, but now it's not that way.

[SPEAKER_09]: No, but these are the impressive pictures,

[SPEAKER_09]: That is, it takes a clear, a clear roof, and the notion of it is to keep the sound in the building.

[SPEAKER_09]: They want it to be the loudest stadium in the NFL.

[SPEAKER_07]: And that's how the roof has been designed.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's also that roof is there, so they can have a Super Bowl.

[SPEAKER_07]: because the cold weather team needs a roof to have a super bowl.

[SPEAKER_09]: But if you look, it's not a dome.

[SPEAKER_09]: It's actually sort of inverted.

[SPEAKER_09]: So this is the way the stadium looks very low down.
