<v Speaker 1>It's Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh on a
<v Speaker 1>Mix 100. Josh, anything interesting happen to you yesterday?
<v Speaker 2>You know what?
<v Speaker 3>No, I just fell asleep on my couch completely accidentally
<v Speaker 3>and woke up thinking it was like Friday. I had
<v Speaker 3>no clue what time it was, where I was. It's
<v Speaker 3>one of those things where you don't mean to. I
<v Speaker 3>don't like to nap because then I don't sleep well
<v Speaker 3>that night. And then that leads to me having a
<v Speaker 3>tired morning and everything. So I don't like to nap
<v Speaker 3>very often. But After my workout yesterday, I was so tired.
<v Speaker 3>I plopped down on my couch, passed out.
<v Speaker 1>It just happened.
<v Speaker 2>And I woke up. So I woke up at four.
<v Speaker 3>That made me think that it was four in the morning,
<v Speaker 3>which made me think that I was up late, which
<v Speaker 3>made me think that I had no idea where I
<v Speaker 3>was and I wasn't ready for the morning and all
<v Speaker 3>these things.
<v Speaker 1>You're like, why is the sun out?
<v Speaker 2>A massive panic attack. I didn't even realize that.
<v Speaker 3>I literally didn't even realize that the sun was out
<v Speaker 3>because I was so worried about getting everything ready. And
<v Speaker 3>it was about 30 seconds until I was like, okay,
<v Speaker 3>it's p.m., not a.m.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Everything's fine. We're okay. I have time.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>It was awful. What about you, though? Did you do
<v Speaker 2>anything crazy or interesting yesterday?
<v Speaker 1>I had to spend a lot of money, unfortunately. And Josh,
<v Speaker 1>don't take this the wrong way, because I'm not talking dirty,
<v Speaker 1>I swear. But I had a crack in my ball
<v Speaker 1>joint that needed some fixing.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, hold on.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not.
<v Speaker 1>I know. I know.
<v Speaker 2>What happened? How did you find this out? What went wrong?
<v Speaker 3>It was my dad.
<v Speaker 2>Car it's been.
<v Speaker 1>An issue for a while and quite honestly it was
<v Speaker 1>a safety thing at any moment my car could have
<v Speaker 1>basically crumbled yeah and so I finally had to get
<v Speaker 1>that fixed I took it to the mechanic yesterday and
<v Speaker 1>when I went to go pay hundreds of dollars for
<v Speaker 1>it once I got over the shock of the price
<v Speaker 1>tag on that then the mechanic was telling me yeah
<v Speaker 1>it took all three of my guys today and He's like,
<v Speaker 1>I need to go check the security camera. It's probably
<v Speaker 1>pretty funny because all of us using our body weight
<v Speaker 1>to get that thing out of your car.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so I guess it was a tough job. So
<v Speaker 1>thank you to the guys who were working on my
<v Speaker 1>car yesterday. But yeah, I had a crack in my
<v Speaker 1>ball joint.
<v Speaker 3>Well, first of all, that sucks because car trouble like
<v Speaker 3>that is awful.
<v Speaker 2>I know. But you're right.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. If that happens and you're on the road and
<v Speaker 3>it actually just completely snaps at that point.
<v Speaker 1>Not good.
<v Speaker 3>That's like the car's version of tearing your ACL and
<v Speaker 3>you don't want that. You are stuck if that happens.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, most definitely. So I took care of that before
<v Speaker 1>it was a bigger problem. Thank goodness.
<v Speaker 2>Poor Nina.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, poor Josh didn't know what day it was.
<v Speaker 1>I had to spend a whole bunch of money on
<v Speaker 1>my ball joints. Happy Wednesday. We're doing great over here.
<v Speaker 1>It's Denver's Morning Show on Mix 100. Netflix is coming
<v Speaker 1>out with a new show about JonBenet Ramsey. We all
<v Speaker 1>know this story, especially here locally. And actors Melissa McCarthy
<v Speaker 1>and Clive Owen are playing the parents, Patsy and Jon,
<v Speaker 1>and the first image of them in character as these
<v Speaker 1>parents is was recreating a famous interview they did with
<v Speaker 1>9 News here after JonBenet had passed. And the image
<v Speaker 1>came out, and Melissa McCarthy looks completely unrecognizable. She looks
<v Speaker 1>very similar to the mother of Patsy back in the
<v Speaker 1>90s when all of this happened and that news interview
<v Speaker 1>came out. But Melissa McCarthy, she's really, I guess, worked
<v Speaker 1>on her image a bit. She's just changed a lot
<v Speaker 1>throughout the years, losing weight and just getting healthier. And
<v Speaker 1>she looks incredible, don't get me wrong. But they did
<v Speaker 1>a really great job with the costumes and the hair
<v Speaker 1>and the style.
<v Speaker 2>Makeup and all that stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, for the mid-90s, it really is kind of a flashback.
<v Speaker 1>And so Netflix's limited series, The Murder of JonBenet Ramsey,
<v Speaker 1>is going to premiere December 10th, which is just two
<v Speaker 1>weeks before the 30th anniversary of JonBenet's death.
<v Speaker 3>30 years.
<v Speaker 1>I know, it's hard to believe. Oh my gosh. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but this Netflix series I think is going to be
<v Speaker 1>a big one, so watch out for that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, first of all, I love Melissa McCarthy. I think
<v Speaker 3>she's hilarious, and I'm not saying this is going to
<v Speaker 3>be a hilarious role, but she's one of my favorite
<v Speaker 3>old SNL actors. I've loved every movie she's been in
<v Speaker 3>in the last decade.
<v Speaker 2>So that's really exciting.
<v Speaker 3>And then the JonBenet Ramsey thing, that whole thing is
<v Speaker 3>so interesting to me. I, for one, I don't know why,
<v Speaker 3>but I love, like, the murder mysteries, like the Zodiac Killer.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>And the things that just can't, like, why can't they
<v Speaker 2>be solved? I don't understand it. Exactly.
<v Speaker 3>Especially even the 90s. It wasn't too long ago. I
<v Speaker 3>understand it's 30 years ago. But that being said, we
<v Speaker 3>still had the same forensic... or similar forensic technology, why
<v Speaker 3>can't we figure this out?
<v Speaker 1>And because this case is still so big, they've done
<v Speaker 1>more recent, so many things on it, and we still
<v Speaker 1>can't figure it out. It's hard to believe.
<v Speaker 2>It's super interesting. I, for one, will be watching it. Nina,
<v Speaker 2>I want to ask you a question.
<v Speaker 3>Do you ever see a Guinness World Record or something
<v Speaker 3>that you're like, I feel like I could beat that?
<v Speaker 2>I don't know why. I'm always interested in that stuff.
<v Speaker 1>We're very confident in ourselves, and yes, I have felt
<v Speaker 1>that way before. I'm like, I could do that.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, well, this is an interesting one. There's one that
<v Speaker 2>happened over the weekend.
<v Speaker 3>A man, fittingly, named David Rush got through and won
<v Speaker 3>a new Guinness World Record for folding 415 paper airplanes
<v Speaker 3>in one hour.
<v Speaker 2>Like, okay.
<v Speaker 3>So 415 paper airplanes, that seems like a lot, but
<v Speaker 3>between the two of us, I think we could crush that.
<v Speaker 3>Guinness requires a very strict seven-fold process for each plane,
<v Speaker 3>and then they have someone test its airworthiness to see
<v Speaker 3>if it actually flies. So that's all fine and dandy,
<v Speaker 3>but all we need is a team to help us
<v Speaker 3>slide the papers to us and then fly it, and
<v Speaker 3>I think we could totally beat this world record.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, are you saying that we need to try it?
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I'd be down.
<v Speaker 3>Rush averaged 8.67 seconds per plane.
<v Speaker 2>Do you think you could do that quicker? I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I'd have to practice. I don't want to say I could.
<v Speaker 1>I'd have to practice.
<v Speaker 2>No, we need the confidence. We can.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, fine.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, we can. Okay, thank you.
<v Speaker 1>We absolutely can. Good morning from Denver's morning show on
<v Speaker 1>Mix 100. We're Nina and Josh. And 54% of Americans
<v Speaker 1>are saying that their mental load is completely maxed out
<v Speaker 1>every single week.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>How are you feeling?
<v Speaker 1>There's a lot going on. I mean, you got a lot. Yeah. Currently,
<v Speaker 1>there's a lot. I mean, just starting this new job
<v Speaker 1>and dealing with a new schedule, getting less sleep than
<v Speaker 1>I may be used to.
<v Speaker 3>Way less.
<v Speaker 1>Incorporate some new workouts and move my body a little
<v Speaker 1>bit more. I had to cook dinner yesterday. You know
<v Speaker 1>what I mean?
<v Speaker 2>Sorry. I don't know if that's the worst, but I
<v Speaker 2>had to cook for my husband.
<v Speaker 1>Oh man, it was terrible. No, I mean, I know
<v Speaker 1>a lot of people are feeling the same way and
<v Speaker 1>there's just so much going on in the world on
<v Speaker 1>top of Your daily stuff, you know. There's politics and
<v Speaker 1>just things in the news and terrible things happening all
<v Speaker 1>the time.
<v Speaker 3>Well, the news is always so negative. And they just
<v Speaker 3>shove that down your throat. And you're right. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>if over half of Americans are already saying that their
<v Speaker 3>mental load every single week is at maximum capacity. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>the story goes on to say it's 25% say they
<v Speaker 3>can't even talk to their loved ones. 20% you're doing
<v Speaker 3>great at this, but 20% say they're getting squeezed out
<v Speaker 3>of gym time.
<v Speaker 2>I might be that 20%. You never know.
<v Speaker 3>And then more and more admit that they, their busy
<v Speaker 3>schedule is keeping them from even seeing their family members.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, it's, that's a sad life that you don't
<v Speaker 3>want to live. You need to take time for yourself
<v Speaker 3>and learn. We all need to learn how to take
<v Speaker 3>time for ourselves so that we are mentally okay. And
<v Speaker 3>that means seeing your loved ones or doing some physical activity.
<v Speaker 3>There's so many benefits that have been shown by that,
<v Speaker 3>you know?
<v Speaker 1>I think so, and I think you're totally right. It's
<v Speaker 1>hard to catch up on, you know, when you have
<v Speaker 1>free time, sometimes you just want to veg out on
<v Speaker 1>the couch and do nothing. But then at the same time,
<v Speaker 1>you're like, well, I could be making those phone calls
<v Speaker 1>to mom or I could be going to see... My cousin,
<v Speaker 1>I have it in a while that I swore I
<v Speaker 1>was going to go see last weekend or whatever it is,
<v Speaker 1>fill in the blank. It's just the possibilities are endless.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, a lot of people are feeling the burnout
<v Speaker 1>right now. Your mental load is completely maxed out. And
<v Speaker 1>so a slight solution. that some people have figured, and
<v Speaker 1>I saw this a couple months ago in Chicago, and
<v Speaker 1>it just happened in San Francisco. A bunch of people
<v Speaker 1>are getting together to just scream it out.
<v Speaker 2>What?
<v Speaker 1>There are these Facebook events that are being created of just, hey,
<v Speaker 1>let's get together and scream out our frustration at the ocean.
<v Speaker 1>So this is in San Francisco. A hundred people got together.
<v Speaker 1>One hundred people! That's a lot of people.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not... Saying it's wrong.
<v Speaker 1>And it was kind of one of those things on
<v Speaker 1>the count of three, just scream as loud as you
<v Speaker 1>can and let it all out.
<v Speaker 3>Now imagine, okay, that's on a San Francisco beach, a
<v Speaker 3>public beach. Imagine if you're just a beach goer and
<v Speaker 3>you're just there and all of a sudden you hear
<v Speaker 3>a hundred people screaming at the top of their lungs.
<v Speaker 2>You're like, what's happening? What's going on?
<v Speaker 1>I need to go home. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. It might help. It might help.
<v Speaker 1>But no, here's the thing is people have said that, yes,
<v Speaker 1>this helps because, Josh, a couple months ago I got
<v Speaker 1>the invite for the Chicago event. They were all screaming
<v Speaker 1>at Lake Michigan, just out into the giant lake there.
<v Speaker 2>Fair enough. We hate Michigan. No, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And then I saw some of the reports afterwards, and
<v Speaker 1>people are saying, you know what? I kind of needed
<v Speaker 1>that release. And you're surrounded by other people that also
<v Speaker 1>need that release and are also understanding.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And so some people were crying because they were able
<v Speaker 1>to release so many emotional things that were just, pent
<v Speaker 1>up on the inside. And so it's not the worst thing.
<v Speaker 1>It's a little bit weird, I will admit, but I
<v Speaker 1>don't think it's the worst thing.
<v Speaker 2>Well, no, it's definitely not the worst thing you can do.
<v Speaker 2>It's interesting. It's something I've never heard of. Here's the thing.
<v Speaker 1>Like, could this happen in Colorado?
<v Speaker 2>We just go shout at a mountain?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>But that's the thing.
<v Speaker 1>You shout at a mountain, you're shouting in a canyon
<v Speaker 1>or something, but it's going to echo. And I feel
<v Speaker 1>like it's going to sound way worse than screaming out
<v Speaker 1>into the ocean.
<v Speaker 3>Is there any part of Red Rocks that echoes, do
<v Speaker 3>you think? Can we have 14,000 people show up to
<v Speaker 3>Red Rocks and just yell at the top of our lungs?
<v Speaker 1>Hold on. You're making me think here.
<v Speaker 2>It's the Nina and Josh scream off?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Do we need to create an event, Josh?
<v Speaker 2>I mean... It would be interesting. Look, sure, I'll scream
<v Speaker 2>at the top of my lungs. I don't care. It
<v Speaker 2>sounds good to me.
<v Speaker 1>So if you want to join us, text us. Text
<v Speaker 1>us if you're interested. If this is something you're interested in,
<v Speaker 1>maybe Josh and I will create this event.
<v Speaker 2>303-691-1MIX.
<v Speaker 1>Would this be something you're interested in? Just let it
<v Speaker 1>all out.
<v Speaker 2>I'm going to go scream at an evergreen.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe it's at Red Rocks. Maybe it's in Evergreen. Maybe
<v Speaker 1>it's in a random canyon somewhere. But maybe we just
<v Speaker 1>go all in.
<v Speaker 2>Sixth and Wads, that's where we're going to go scream.
<v Speaker 1>Three things you need to know before you go into
<v Speaker 1>the office today. including this viral video in San Diego.
<v Speaker 1>A man was driving a Tesla, speeding, and took it
<v Speaker 1>onto a boardwalk full of people on the beach going
<v Speaker 1>70 miles an hour.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, what are you doing?
<v Speaker 1>People on bikes, bystanders just taking a nice walk. They
<v Speaker 1>were dodging the car, had to fully jump out of
<v Speaker 1>the way. One person was unfortunately hit and taken to
<v Speaker 1>the hospital. And when the Tesla finally crashed, the person
<v Speaker 1>driving it ran out of the car trying to run away,
<v Speaker 1>trying to flee the scene.
<v Speaker 2>What a moron.
<v Speaker 1>Exactly. He was chased down by two people who were
<v Speaker 1>filming the whole thing. Luckily, they did catch up to him.
<v Speaker 1>They tackled him to the ground. Good. And they waited
<v Speaker 1>for police to arrive, and they did arrest this man.
<v Speaker 1>We found out this is a 39-year-old man. He was
<v Speaker 1>arrested for not only stealing that Tesla, it wasn't his.
<v Speaker 1>He was also suspected of driving under the influence on
<v Speaker 1>this boardwalk. Yep, there it is. So I'm really glad
<v Speaker 1>that more people were not hurt because it really could
<v Speaker 1>have been a terrible situation. But good on those guys
<v Speaker 1>who chased this person down.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, they're heroes, right?
<v Speaker 1>Exactly. And a lot of people have a lot of
<v Speaker 1>things to say of like, why aren't you helping? You're
<v Speaker 1>just standing there filming. But these guys, they did both.
<v Speaker 1>They did both.
<v Speaker 3>But it's also one of those things, look, I understand,
<v Speaker 3>but when you're in a situation like that and all
<v Speaker 3>of a sudden your life is in danger because a
<v Speaker 3>car is going 70 miles an hour down a boardwalk,
<v Speaker 3>it's one of those things that you freeze and everybody
<v Speaker 3>wants to be the hero and say they would be
<v Speaker 3>and I understand that, but it, that's a different circumstance.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, you can really freeze up. Sometimes things like
<v Speaker 2>that happen, you know?
<v Speaker 1>Absolutely. So I'm just glad that there was not more
<v Speaker 1>people that were injured and that they did catch this man.
<v Speaker 2>That is good news.
<v Speaker 3>Well, hey, make sure if you go leaf peeping any
<v Speaker 3>time over the next couple of weeks, because it is
<v Speaker 3>like prime leaf peeping season, be smart where you park.
<v Speaker 3>You can't just park your car on the side of
<v Speaker 3>the road or anywhere just to look at those beautiful
<v Speaker 3>leaves all over the place because Over 150 parking tickets
<v Speaker 3>were given out in Gwinella Pass over the past two weeks, Nina.
<v Speaker 2>And each of those tickets is about $ 87.
<v Speaker 3>50, and it will be neatly placed on your windshield
<v Speaker 3>if you choose to park in an illegal area. Now,
<v Speaker 3>they're really cracking down on this because there are so
<v Speaker 3>many people there. The roads are essentially overloaded. They have
<v Speaker 3>designated parking areas. Just go up there, get there early
<v Speaker 3>if you want to go see the leaves. and park
<v Speaker 3>in the designated area. Otherwise, you will be met with
<v Speaker 3>a nice little ticket. Now, this next weekend is looking
<v Speaker 3>probably to be one of the biggest weekends yet as
<v Speaker 3>the leaves are changing a little bit quicker now. So
<v Speaker 3>just be sure, get there early, park in the designated
<v Speaker 3>area because you just make traffic way worse if you
<v Speaker 3>choose to be selfish and just pull up on the
<v Speaker 3>side of the road and park there, right?
<v Speaker 1>Plus, who has an extra $ 90 to spend on a
<v Speaker 1>parking ticket like that?
<v Speaker 3>Like, come on.
<v Speaker 2>As much as I love how beautiful the leaves are,
<v Speaker 2>$ 90 to go look at leaves? I'm not doing that.
<v Speaker 1>It ain't worth it.
<v Speaker 2>Uh-uh, we don't need to do that.
<v Speaker 1>Uh-uh. And last week it was bears. This week a
<v Speaker 1>mountain lion was found in a tree in a neighborhood
<v Speaker 1>in Westminster.
<v Speaker 2>What is happening?
<v Speaker 1>So this happened yesterday. This was just yesterday. Neighbors called
<v Speaker 1>the police and animal control who they did come out.
<v Speaker 1>They tranked this young cat and they are relocating him
<v Speaker 1>west of Castle Rock this week. But wildlife experts say that, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this incident is isolated. This is not because of Colorado's drought,
<v Speaker 1>which we've seen all the bears come through because of that.
<v Speaker 1>They say this is not because of that. They said
<v Speaker 1>that this is a young male mountain lion at the
<v Speaker 1>point in his life where they start to go out
<v Speaker 1>kind of like teenagers and look for their own home.
<v Speaker 1>And he just found himself in a neighborhood in Westminster.
<v Speaker 2>Dudes in Westminster are like, this is nice. All right, cool.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, like, I can move here. Here we go. We
<v Speaker 1>need to talk about Ed Sheeran. Ed is getting a
<v Speaker 1>lot of flack from people all over right now because
<v Speaker 1>Macklemore has been let go from opening at the Loop Tour.
<v Speaker 1>moving forward because of a performance last weekend and Macklemore's
<v Speaker 1>Free Palestine comments on stage. Now, Ed put out a
<v Speaker 1>message to fans explaining that he did not make this choice.
<v Speaker 1>It was more the promoters and the venue owners that
<v Speaker 1>wanted Macklemore to be let go, and Ed didn't want
<v Speaker 1>to cancel on his fans that were planning to attend
<v Speaker 1>his shows and all the tour crew members that would
<v Speaker 1>be missing out on their livelihood because that's where they work.
<v Speaker 1>And in solidarity of Macklemore, all tour openers and Ed
<v Speaker 1>Sheeran's band quit yesterday over this.
<v Speaker 2>That's crazy.
<v Speaker 1>Everyone quit. The openers include Phineas, Aaron Rowe, and Lucas Graham.
<v Speaker 1>They all put out their own individual... like, speeches on Instagram.
<v Speaker 1>They put out a message about this situation. And Ed
<v Speaker 1>is getting criticism online from other celebrities, people that are
<v Speaker 1>even in Congress, fans, everyone. And I have a feeling, Josh,
<v Speaker 1>that we're going to get more updates on the future
<v Speaker 1>of this tour. whether it's today, tomorrow, later this week,
<v Speaker 1>but I really don't know if this tour is going
<v Speaker 1>to continue because of everything that's going on.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it would be hard for it to. You know,
<v Speaker 3>you and I actually went to his American version of
<v Speaker 3>the Loop Tour.
<v Speaker 2>Fantastic. It was so good.
<v Speaker 1>It was 4th of July here at Empower Field.
<v Speaker 2>He crushed it.
<v Speaker 3>His band that came on that actually is one of
<v Speaker 3>the people that are taking a leave of absence now,
<v Speaker 3>they did such a good job.
<v Speaker 2>It's a very awkward situation. I think it's a lose-lose.
<v Speaker 3>No matter what you say, whether you stand up, there
<v Speaker 3>are going to be people that are upset about that,
<v Speaker 3>whether you stay quiet.
<v Speaker 2>This is very hard. It's kind of.
<v Speaker 3>ironic how that his loop tour is kind of supposed
<v Speaker 3>to be just him and his little loop pedals on
<v Speaker 3>there right it might literally just be him now.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah it seems like it i mean everyone dipped i
<v Speaker 1>don't know it's it's a sad situation it sucks to
<v Speaker 1>be put in um because again i just don't think
<v Speaker 1>you're going to come out a winner for this one
<v Speaker 1>i don't think so either and because like you said
<v Speaker 1>it's lose lose i just don't see that this tour
<v Speaker 1>continuing on.
<v Speaker 3>No, I think that's probably the right call, which is
<v Speaker 3>such a bummer because there's so many worldwide fans that
<v Speaker 3>love him.
<v Speaker 2>I'm one of them. I love Ed Sheeran. I think
<v Speaker 2>he's a very talented artist and writer. So that's a bummer.
<v Speaker 3>I'm selfishly glad we got to see him before this happened.
<v Speaker 2>But in some lighter news, Sherwin-Williams, why are they in
<v Speaker 2>the news today?
<v Speaker 3>They have already chosen what the color of the year
<v Speaker 3>is for 2027, Nina. 2026 color of the year was
<v Speaker 3>the Cloud Dancer. It's a soft, billowy white, which symbolized
<v Speaker 3>a fresh start, right? Don't you love billowy white?
<v Speaker 1>I guess. That's such a boring color. I know.
<v Speaker 2>So this year, hold on. Hold on.
<v Speaker 3>This next year, they are choosing, are you ready?
<v Speaker 1>I'm ready.
<v Speaker 2>Celery. Oh, celery.
<v Speaker 3>They chose celery. It's because it symbolizes a fresh perspective
<v Speaker 3>on comfort and calm.
<v Speaker 2>They added.
<v Speaker 3>that they chose it because it also reflects on today's priorities, wellness, balance,
<v Speaker 3>and connection. In reality, isn't it just like a light green? Again,
<v Speaker 3>I'm colorblind, so I.
<v Speaker 2>Don't really know.
<v Speaker 1>I was just going to say it's green, right?
<v Speaker 2>Yes.
<v Speaker 1>But I like a nice light green.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I forgot your colorblind.
<v Speaker 2>I know. I know.
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry. I like a nice light green. My bathroom
<v Speaker 1>is kind of a sage green. Okay. And we're thinking
<v Speaker 1>about repainting, so maybe we'll switch to celery.
<v Speaker 3>You've got to go to Sherwin-Williams and say, give me
<v Speaker 3>your finest celery. And they will give you a can
<v Speaker 3>of celery green, I guess. Anyway, that's the color of 2027.
<v Speaker 3>Can't wait to see what they do for 2028.
<v Speaker 1>Okay. And last year, eight people were found guilty for
<v Speaker 1>their roles in Kim Kardashian's Paris burglary, where they broke
<v Speaker 1>into her hotel room, tied her up, and took $ 6
<v Speaker 1>million in jewelry. And yesterday, the compensation for this case
<v Speaker 1>was due, and Kim was awarded the one euro that
<v Speaker 1>she asked for. Yeah, one euro. So they released a
<v Speaker 1>statement with her lawyers. They said today's decision is not
<v Speaker 1>about the compensation, but about accountability. We're thankful to the
<v Speaker 1>court and everyone who supported us through this process, and
<v Speaker 1>we hope to move forward to continue to heal. Kim
<v Speaker 1>just wanted to make it be known that it's not
<v Speaker 1>about the money. She has enough money. But she did
<v Speaker 1>want to move forward with convicting these guys, these eight people,
<v Speaker 1>because what they did was wrong and terrifying.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, yes. I didn't know she was tied up.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, they tied her up on the bed.
<v Speaker 2>I thought they stole when she was gone.
<v Speaker 1>No, she was in the room.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, that changes everything.
<v Speaker 1>They duct tape over her mouth everything. It was terrifying
<v Speaker 1>and a traumatic experience. and she still deals with that
<v Speaker 1>trauma today.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, rightfully so. I did not know that. Dang, Kim.
<v Speaker 1>I know, I know. Mix 100.
<v Speaker 2>Time to wake up and wise up.
<v Speaker 1>Am I in trouble? It's the Pop Quiz Hot Seat.
<v Speaker 2>Attention, everyone. On Denver's Morning Show.
<v Speaker 1>With Nina and Josh. The Pop Quiz Hot Seat is
<v Speaker 1>presented by Bally's Casino Blackhawk. Best value with $ 5 blackjack
<v Speaker 1>and $ 5 menu items daily today. And it is time.
<v Speaker 1>You have seven trivia questions to answer. If you get
<v Speaker 1>one wrong, you're out. But we will continue those questions
<v Speaker 1>with the next caller until we get through all seven.
<v Speaker 1>And when you win, we are hooking you up with...
<v Speaker 1>four tickets to join Big Rob at Anderson Farms for
<v Speaker 1>our annual Monster Bash.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's such a fun time.
<v Speaker 3>You get the VIP terror in the corn as well,
<v Speaker 3>so you can be frightened through more than a mile.
<v Speaker 3>It's like a mile of walking through the corn, and
<v Speaker 3>it's haunted. It is.
<v Speaker 2>It's spooky.
<v Speaker 1>It's very spooky, but wear comfy shoes because it is
<v Speaker 1>one of the longest haunted houses I've ever been in.
<v Speaker 2>It's awesome, though.
<v Speaker 1>It is. It's really, really cool. So if you're wanting
<v Speaker 1>to go VIP to Terror in the Corn at Mix
<v Speaker 1>100's Monster Bash at Anderson Farms next Saturday with Big Rob,
<v Speaker 1>I want you to call us, 303-691-1MIX. Come sit in
<v Speaker 1>the hot seat to win these tickets, 303-691-1649, or playing
<v Speaker 1>the Pop Quiz Hot Seat on Mix 100. Haley in Longmont,
<v Speaker 1>how are you this morning?
<v Speaker 3>I'm doing all right.
<v Speaker 1>Is traffic treating you okay today? Yeah, actually, it's pretty smooth.
<v Speaker 2>I haven't seen any major accidents, so that's a good thing.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yesterday was awful in the morning, so today's a
<v Speaker 1>better day. And hopefully today is a better day for
<v Speaker 1>you to win the pop quiz hot seat. Ready for
<v Speaker 1>the first question?
<v Speaker 2>Yes, ma'am.
<v Speaker 1>What was the name of the app that became famous
<v Speaker 1>for its six-second looping videos?
<v Speaker 2>Vine.
<v Speaker 1>Vine is correct. Your second question, what is the human
<v Speaker 1>being's average temperature? 98.6. Yes, 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. That is right.
<v Speaker 1>Your third question, in dating, what is it called when
<v Speaker 1>you want to get into a relationship in time for
<v Speaker 1>the colder months, typically starting in the fall?
<v Speaker 4>A holiday? I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>You know, that's a great answer, but it is not correct.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you so much for trying today. Kristen N. Parker,
<v Speaker 1>you're in the hot seat. How are you this morning?
<v Speaker 2>I'm good, thank you.
<v Speaker 3>How are you?
<v Speaker 1>I'm great. We are on the third question. Are you ready?
<v Speaker 1>I'm ready. In dating, what is it called when you
<v Speaker 1>want to get into a relationship in time for the
<v Speaker 1>colder months, typically starting in the fall? Cuddle season? Ooh,
<v Speaker 1>it was really close, so I'm going to let you
<v Speaker 1>try again. I.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. I've been in a relationship for so long. Well,
<v Speaker 1>thank you so much for trying today. I appreciate you.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you. Thank you.
<v Speaker 2>Goodbye.
<v Speaker 1>We haven't quite gotten a winner just yet, but I
<v Speaker 1>know a lot of people know the answer to this question.
<v Speaker 1>If you know the answer to question number three in dating,
<v Speaker 1>what is it called when you want to get into
<v Speaker 1>a relationship in time for the colder months? typically starting
<v Speaker 1>in the fall. David and Inglewood, how are we this morning?
<v Speaker 2>I'm doing great.
<v Speaker 1>How are you? I'm great, David. Now I got to ask,
<v Speaker 1>are you single in a relationship? Are you dating? I
<v Speaker 1>am married. Married. Okay, married. But maybe you know the
<v Speaker 1>answer to the third question. Ready?
<v Speaker 3>Okay.
<v Speaker 1>In dating, what is it called when you want to
<v Speaker 1>get into a relationship in time for the colder months,
<v Speaker 1>typically starting in the fall? Oh, shoot. Oh, I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>Coffee season?
<v Speaker 1>What was that?
<v Speaker 4>Coughing season.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, it is coughing season.
<v Speaker 1>See? Even a married guy, you know.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, God.
<v Speaker 3>Okay.
<v Speaker 1>All right, your fourth question. Which classical composer became deaf
<v Speaker 1>later in life but continued to compose music? Beethoven. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>Ludwig van Beethoven. Your fifth question, what was the name
<v Speaker 1>of the game that had people searching for virtual creatures
<v Speaker 1>using their phones in actual locations?
<v Speaker 2>Ah, yeah, Pokemon Go.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, and your sixth question, what was the name of
<v Speaker 1>the viral plush toy pillows that became extremely popular in
<v Speaker 1>the 2020s?
<v Speaker 4>Oh, Squishmallows.
<v Speaker 1>Yes. And your final question. Which actress plays Katie Herring
<v Speaker 1>in the movie Mean Girls? Oh, Katie, that's going to
<v Speaker 1>be Lindsay Lohan. Yes, and you're my winner for the
<v Speaker 1>Pop Quiz Hot Seat. Congratulations.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, right.
<v Speaker 1>Three things you need to know before you go into
<v Speaker 1>the office today, like the Avalanche Center Ice is actually
<v Speaker 1>changed this year compared to last year. And I don't
<v Speaker 1>know if you know this, Josh, but the Center Ice
<v Speaker 1>is hand-painted by the Avalanche Ice Patrol.
<v Speaker 2>It is. That's interesting. You think you trust them?
<v Speaker 1>I know, right? So they hand paint the circles and
<v Speaker 1>the lines on the ice. And then the logos are
<v Speaker 1>made out of this special freezing material that they just
<v Speaker 1>kind of place down and then put the ice over.
<v Speaker 1>But yesterday, the Avs unveiled this year's new design for
<v Speaker 1>Center Ice. They put back the original logo after last
<v Speaker 1>year's special 30th anniversary logo was up. And just so
<v Speaker 1>everyone knows, there is a free youth hockey day that
<v Speaker 1>is coming up Saturday, September 26th. They are bringing out
<v Speaker 1>NHL trophies for you to look at. Avalanche alumni are
<v Speaker 1>going to be there. You get a tour of the
<v Speaker 1>locker room. And this is free for kids. So you
<v Speaker 1>can go and register for Youth Hockey Day with the
<v Speaker 1>Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena at their website.
<v Speaker 2>That is so cool.
<v Speaker 3>First of all, if you have not had a chance
<v Speaker 3>to see their locker room, the Avs just got a
<v Speaker 3>new locker room a couple of seasons ago.
<v Speaker 2>It is fantastic.
<v Speaker 3>It is such a cool thing to go see what
<v Speaker 3>an NHL locker room looks like.
<v Speaker 1>I need a tour of that. I haven't been in there.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, my gosh. I mean, it's no secret. Hockey is
<v Speaker 2>my bread and butter.
<v Speaker 3>I grew up playing hockey. I absolutely love it. And
<v Speaker 3>when hockey season comes around, it makes me so happy.
<v Speaker 3>I'm one of the people that miss the smell of
<v Speaker 3>a locker room, even though it smells horrible.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I was just going to ask, does it smell
<v Speaker 1>like sweaty boys?
<v Speaker 2>Yes, and it's awesome, okay? It's fantastic. It smells so bad,
<v Speaker 2>and I love it, and I miss it dearly.
<v Speaker 1>Ew.
<v Speaker 2>It's so gross.
<v Speaker 3>Well, hey, a new study has found that reading for
<v Speaker 3>literally just six minutes can reduce stress by up to
<v Speaker 3>nearly 70%. And, Nina, we talked earlier about how so
<v Speaker 3>many people, in the United States especially, are just feeling
<v Speaker 3>mentally at their max. Like, they cannot take any more.
<v Speaker 3>That has added stresses. I just found out I might
<v Speaker 3>have to be buying a new laptop today. And that's
<v Speaker 3>added stress because they're so expensive.
<v Speaker 2>So just reading. I just want to read and take
<v Speaker 2>six minutes to reduce my stress. This is a.
<v Speaker 3>Crazy good news for adults especially. Adults who read also
<v Speaker 3>face a much lower risk of dementia and slower cognitive decline.
<v Speaker 3>Reading for pleasure is also linked for more empathy and
<v Speaker 3>less loneliness in adults and children. And unfortunately, Nina, there
<v Speaker 3>is a massive drop-off in reading among teens, especially boys
<v Speaker 3>aged 11 to 16, which shows different cognitive decline for
<v Speaker 3>people even starting with young adults. So young adults in
<v Speaker 3>their 20s, you don't want that. Just take a book,
<v Speaker 3>sit down and read. It's six minutes a day.
<v Speaker 2>That's it.
<v Speaker 3>And it shows so much improvement in your mental capacity.
<v Speaker 3>I think I'm going to start having to do that.
<v Speaker 1>I know, same. I've been trying to get myself to
<v Speaker 1>read a little bit more, so this is a great
<v Speaker 1>way to just, you know, try to get yourself to
<v Speaker 1>do it.
<v Speaker 2>And this isn't the same for audiobooks. You can't listen.
<v Speaker 2>You've got to read. Okay.
<v Speaker 1>And a 16-year-old donkey just broke the Guinness Book World
<v Speaker 1>Record for longest ears on a living donkey.
<v Speaker 2>You think he's hearing us talk about him right now?
<v Speaker 1>I know he can. He totally can. They're little satellites
<v Speaker 1>on the side of his head. So his long ears
<v Speaker 1>have always gotten comments because he's a riding donkey. And
<v Speaker 1>people who have gone out on rides with this donkey,
<v Speaker 1>they've always commented, hey, he has really long ears. And
<v Speaker 1>someone had sent the owner an article about the previous
<v Speaker 1>record holder. And kiddingly, he's like, let me measure my
<v Speaker 1>donkey's ears really quick. And he realized that Hank the
<v Speaker 1>donkey's ears were longer by like three inches.
<v Speaker 2>Dang, Hank.
<v Speaker 1>So. So he's like, let me go ahead, call up
<v Speaker 1>the people over at Guinness Book of Records. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And the process took about a year, but Hank the donkey,
<v Speaker 1>he is now a record holder. His ears are at 17.12
<v Speaker 1>inches long.
<v Speaker 2>What?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Hank the donkey.
<v Speaker 2>They almost like drag on the ground.
<v Speaker 1>Pretty much. Yeah, seriously.
<v Speaker 2>He's so cute.
<v Speaker 1>He is cute. He's adorable. Josh, let's give our next
<v Speaker 1>qualifier a call to let them know they could win
<v Speaker 1>a trip for two from the 303 to NYC from
<v Speaker 1>Mix 100. Hello. Good morning. This is Mix 100 calling
<v Speaker 1>for Julianne with Nina and Josh.
<v Speaker 2>Hi. Hi.
<v Speaker 1>Did we catch you by surprise today?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Well, we're calling you because you have texted in a
<v Speaker 1>couple of keywords to try to win a trip to
<v Speaker 1>New York to see Harry Styles.
<v Speaker 3>No way.
<v Speaker 1>Well, we wanted to call and give you some good
<v Speaker 1>news that you're officially qualified for that trip.
<v Speaker 2>That's amazing. Thank you so much. I can't even believe it.
<v Speaker 1>Yes. I mean, you're one of the few. We're not getting,
<v Speaker 1>we don't have that many qualifiers. We have lots of
<v Speaker 1>people trying, but not that many qualifiers to win this trip.
<v Speaker 1>So your odds are pretty good.
<v Speaker 3>That's amazing. I'm shaking right now.
<v Speaker 1>Well, it's a great way to start your morning knowing
<v Speaker 1>that you officially qualify. And we're also going to give
<v Speaker 1>you the album for Harry Styles, Kiss All The Time,
<v Speaker 1>Disco Occasionally, that you can hold close. Hey, maybe bring
<v Speaker 1>it with you to New York. See if you can
<v Speaker 1>get it signed or something.
<v Speaker 2>That would be awesome. Yes, absolutely.
<v Speaker 1>Well, Julianne, where are you from?
<v Speaker 2>Westminster.
<v Speaker 1>Westminster. Oh, did you see the mountain lion that was
<v Speaker 1>just out there yesterday?
<v Speaker 2>No, not in my neighborhood. Oh, thank God.
<v Speaker 1>That's good.
<v Speaker 2>And I was out walking at 4.30 this morning, so
<v Speaker 2>I'm really glad he wasn't near me. Oh, bring your mace.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, seriously. Crazy stuff. I can't believe that's happening. But
<v Speaker 1>at the same time, we are in Colorado, right?
<v Speaker 2>Absolutely. You never know what you're going to see.
<v Speaker 1>Exactly. And you never know what you're going to win.
<v Speaker 1>So congratulations, Julianne. We're so happy. Thank you so, so much.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you.
<v Speaker 3>I can't believe it.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you.
<v Speaker 1>I really, really appreciate it. Well, there has been an
<v Speaker 1>update in the investigation of Hayden Panettiere's death. The DEA
<v Speaker 1>believes that Hayden died after taking a pill laced with fentanyl,
<v Speaker 1>some really nasty stuff there. and investigators are trying to
<v Speaker 1>find the person who has been selling her those substances.
<v Speaker 1>They searched her phone, which was filled with texts, a
<v Speaker 1>lot of text messages, back and forth with one individual,
<v Speaker 1>this longtime person that she's gotten her stuff from, and
<v Speaker 1>they had... exchanged words about many different drugs that they're
<v Speaker 1>finding now.
<v Speaker 2>This poor girl.
<v Speaker 1>I know. I mean, she had major, major demons, and
<v Speaker 1>this was how she dealt with it. That's not necessarily
<v Speaker 1>saying that that was right, but she herself just didn't
<v Speaker 1>know how else to deal.
<v Speaker 3>Look, and when you've been through traumas like that, unfortunately,
<v Speaker 3>that is what a lot of people turn to.
<v Speaker 1>Right.
<v Speaker 2>And it is what it is. It's unfortunate. It's a
<v Speaker 2>very unfortunate thing.
<v Speaker 1>It really is. It's so sad. And right now, not
<v Speaker 1>only did they search her phone, they are searching her
<v Speaker 1>home in L.A. And neighbors are even telling police at
<v Speaker 1>her West Hollywood condo complex that three suspicious people would
<v Speaker 1>often come to her door for the past several years,
<v Speaker 1>dropping off small bags. I wonder what was in those.
<v Speaker 1>So they are looking for a couple of individuals missing.
<v Speaker 1>But I think that there is one main person that
<v Speaker 1>they are searching for right now.
<v Speaker 2>Poor girl.
<v Speaker 3>I hate this whole situation. It's such a bummer that
<v Speaker 3>she is gone, obviously, way too soon. It's just a
<v Speaker 3>sad situation. I guess we'll see how it unfolds. Now,
<v Speaker 3>to go to something completely different. The lifestyle queen, Martha Stewart,
<v Speaker 3>has been serving us up recipes for decades now of
<v Speaker 3>how to make cooking better and more interesting recipes. It
<v Speaker 3>seems like she's kind of ready to serve up something
<v Speaker 3>completely different.
<v Speaker 2>What?
<v Speaker 3>She posted on her Instagram earlier how she is literally
<v Speaker 3>just thinking about releasing all of her very intimate photos.
<v Speaker 2>Oh. Nina, I'm talking.
<v Speaker 1>Wait, Martha Stewart said that?
<v Speaker 2>I'm talking nude photos.
<v Speaker 3>I'm talking nude photos from Martha Stewart, the 85-year-old Martha Stewart.
<v Speaker 2>She didn't really offer any more details either. She just said.
<v Speaker 3>She's wondering if maybe it's time to release the stash.
<v Speaker 3>I guess she has a stash of fun little photos
<v Speaker 3>to spice things up.
<v Speaker 2>Now, this is kind of on a roll with other.
<v Speaker 3>Older women starting OnlyFans and things like that.
<v Speaker 2>Now, I'm not saying she wants to start an OnlyFans.
<v Speaker 2>She hasn't said that. However, she said.
<v Speaker 3>hey, maybe I'm ready to do this, and she kind
<v Speaker 3>of posted it with a thirst trap. She's done thirst
<v Speaker 3>traps before.
<v Speaker 1>And she has, and it's gotten a huge reaction. She
<v Speaker 1>looks good. And let's be totally honest, she looks great.
<v Speaker 2>She looks really good.
<v Speaker 1>80-some years old, Martha Stewart. Yeah, girl, get it. But also,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know who is sitting here necessarily asking for
<v Speaker 1>Martha Stewart's nudes, but thank you for the offer.
<v Speaker 3>There is something out there for everyone in this world.
<v Speaker 3>There's going to be a lot of people... That would
<v Speaker 3>want to see Martha's goodies.
<v Speaker 1>Well, is she bored and just going to release them,
<v Speaker 1>or is she trying to make money? I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I have questions.
<v Speaker 2>She hasn't answered yet, so we're waiting. We're all waiting
<v Speaker 2>right now. Martha, let us know, girl.
<v Speaker 1>All right, girl. Let's do it. Tyra Banks, she is
<v Speaker 1>trying to get her hands on the unedited footage of
<v Speaker 1>Miss J and J. Manuel's interviews on Netflix for their
<v Speaker 1>documentary of America's Next Top Model. We knew that already,
<v Speaker 1>but producers are denying Tyra scoffing at the request and
<v Speaker 1>now we know why tyra wants it in the first
<v Speaker 1>place so she believes that the footage could help prove
<v Speaker 1>that she was defamed due to producers at netflix selectively
<v Speaker 1>editing these interviews which it's kind of weird to ask
<v Speaker 1>the people that you want to sue for help.
<v Speaker 4>But i know that's interesting you know it's one way
<v Speaker 4>to go about it different way to go yeah Netflix
<v Speaker 4>insists that none of these items are the type of
<v Speaker 4>targeted discovery allowed to prove her claims because Netflix has
<v Speaker 4>been through stuff like this before.
<v Speaker 1>They're saying that her requests are way too broad. They're
<v Speaker 1>not giving her anything, and they are denying her right now.
<v Speaker 1>But Tyra may be coming after Netflix and J. Manuel
<v Speaker 1>and Miss J.
<v Speaker 2>She's in some hot water, though. She doesn't seem like
<v Speaker 2>a great person.
<v Speaker 1>Well, here's the thing. This isn't new. No. She's saying
<v Speaker 1>that this documentary defamed her, but... I mean, girl, you
<v Speaker 1>kind of did it to yourself in the original show.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, when all of that stuff came out about how
<v Speaker 3>cruel she was in the original show, you can't really
<v Speaker 3>back up.
<v Speaker 1>No.
<v Speaker 2>Like, well, there's a reason for it.
<v Speaker 1>No.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, there's no reason for it.
<v Speaker 1>No, not at all. I don't know. It's just really weird. So, Josh,
<v Speaker 1>yesterday after work, I was exhausted and tired, and I
<v Speaker 1>was here a little bit later than I originally wanted
<v Speaker 1>to be. I had an appointment to drop off my
<v Speaker 1>car last At 11. I didn't drop it off until
<v Speaker 1>after 12.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, I bet they loved you for that one.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, they loved me for that. And no, I'm not
<v Speaker 1>talking dirty to you right now, Josh, but I had
<v Speaker 1>a crack in my ball joint.
<v Speaker 2>Are you sure?
<v Speaker 1>And that is why I took my car in. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>ball joint, I guess it's down by the wheel somewhere.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, it's on the wheel base, and it's really important.
<v Speaker 3>If it breaks and falls all the way through, your
<v Speaker 3>wheel will essentially fall off. You don't want that.
<v Speaker 1>It's very dangerous, and I had this crack for a
<v Speaker 1>long time, and I was really pushing it. So I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>I need to get this fixed. I finally got it fixed.
<v Speaker 1>I took it to the mechanic. They told me they
<v Speaker 1>had a really hard time getting it out, but they
<v Speaker 1>eventually fixed it. But it took all three grown men
<v Speaker 1>like pulling on the ball joint to get it out
<v Speaker 1>of my vehicle.
<v Speaker 2>No one likes their ball joint getting yanked out. No
<v Speaker 2>one likes that. And that's I'm really quick.
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 2>That's such that's I don't know if it's girl math,
<v Speaker 2>but that's such a. a female way of thinking when
<v Speaker 2>you're like, I waited as long as I could to
<v Speaker 2>get this very important car thing fixed.
<v Speaker 1>Until it started to feel dangerous.
<v Speaker 2>Your wheel could fall off, Nina.
<v Speaker 1>I know.
<v Speaker 2>What are you doing?
<v Speaker 1>I'm being irresponsible.
<v Speaker 2>You have a husband to think about. I know.
<v Speaker 1>And that husband, Josh, he totally judged me yesterday because
<v Speaker 1>when I dropped off my car at the mechanic, it's
<v Speaker 1>not that far from my house. And again, I was
<v Speaker 1>really tired. My day was already going longer than I planned.
<v Speaker 1>I was also starving, hadn't eaten anything yet. And I
<v Speaker 1>needed to just get home ASAP after I dropping off
<v Speaker 1>my car. But it's like less than a mile from
<v Speaker 1>my house. And while I could have walked home, I
<v Speaker 1>did not.
<v Speaker 2>What did you do?
<v Speaker 1>I called a Lyft and I spent $ 10 on a
<v Speaker 1>two minute ride. A. 8 mile ride from the mechanic
<v Speaker 1>to my house.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, all right.
<v Speaker 1>I was hangry and I was grumpy and I was
<v Speaker 1>sleepy and I just wanted to get home.
<v Speaker 2>No, we're going to break it down. We're going to
<v Speaker 2>break it down in a second. Okay, I understand the hangriness.
<v Speaker 2>I get it.
<v Speaker 3>When we work this job, sometimes I don't like to
<v Speaker 3>eat breakfast that early in the morning.
<v Speaker 2>Before our show starts.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And then really, we don't get to have our first
<v Speaker 3>meal of the day till like noon or one.
<v Speaker 2>It's like lunchtime. I understand that. And I get it.
<v Speaker 2>I'm starving too. It's a thing.
<v Speaker 3>I totally get that. However, you have also been making
<v Speaker 3>it a point to get.
<v Speaker 2>Some steps in. You like to work out.
<v Speaker 3>I know.
<v Speaker 2>You're trying to get the blood flowing.
<v Speaker 3>You know.
<v Speaker 2>And I thought about it.
<v Speaker 1>Too I was like and.
<v Speaker 2>You were just like hell nah.
<v Speaker 1>I was like nah forget it like I just want
<v Speaker 1>to get home and I just need to eat something
<v Speaker 1>now and instead of a 15 minute walk I took
<v Speaker 1>a two minute lift ride.
<v Speaker 3>Home I just feel like couldn't if you were so
<v Speaker 3>hungry couldn't you have just maybe walked to a closer
<v Speaker 3>restaurant eaten there for an hour and then picked up
<v Speaker 3>your car.
<v Speaker 1>It was not an hour job Josh okay they had
<v Speaker 1>to fix the crack in my ball joint I already
<v Speaker 1>explained this Three things you got to know before you
<v Speaker 1>go today. This voting season in Colorado has more than
<v Speaker 1>a dozen statewide measures on top of everything else in
<v Speaker 1>the ballots, which already seem like longer ballots. And this
<v Speaker 1>year we are being warned that, yeah, it's going to
<v Speaker 1>be even bigger than it has ever been before. So
<v Speaker 1>yesterday on National Voter Registration Day, we are being reminded
<v Speaker 1>to vote early this year because of these longer ballots.
<v Speaker 1>And it is going to take longer to finalize. So
<v Speaker 1>the earlier you vote, the faster we will get our results.
<v Speaker 1>So October 2nd is the first day that ballots can
<v Speaker 1>be mailed out in Colorado. And October 9th is the
<v Speaker 1>deadline for initial mailing. And the 2026 general election in Colorado,
<v Speaker 1>of course, will be held November 3rd. And just a reminder,
<v Speaker 1>vote for whoever you want to. We're not going to
<v Speaker 1>get into all of that. But voting is important. So
<v Speaker 1>make sure you're registered. Check your status on that. It's
<v Speaker 1>about voting season, but it's going to be really long
<v Speaker 1>ballots this year.
<v Speaker 2>So get to it early.
<v Speaker 3>Should I be the one that fills it out the
<v Speaker 3>way I fill out my Scantrons? Just go A, B, C, D, A, B, C.
<v Speaker 2>D, A, B, C, D?
<v Speaker 1>Probably not.
<v Speaker 3>No?
<v Speaker 2>Oh, I've got to read it.
<v Speaker 1>I can't tell you how to vote, Josh, but I
<v Speaker 1>wouldn't do it that way.
<v Speaker 2>Some people might actually vote like that. Anyway, Nina. I
<v Speaker 2>have a very important PSA for people. I feel like
<v Speaker 2>in Colorado, there are so many people that either own
<v Speaker 2>a Subaru or a Toyota. That's like the major car
<v Speaker 2>brands here. We love our 4Runners. We love our CRVs.
<v Speaker 3>Well, Toyota is recalling more than 8,500 electric vehicles because
<v Speaker 3>of a software issue that causes them to completely shut off.
<v Speaker 3>And that is very, very bad, especially if you're on
<v Speaker 3>a highway, a freeway. anything like that, you automatically lose
<v Speaker 3>drive power.
<v Speaker 1>Really?
<v Speaker 2>You can't go anymore. So this is a big thing.
<v Speaker 3>The recall covers 8,500 models of the 2026 Toyota C-H-R. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>so it's their electric C-H-R vehicle, according to the National
<v Speaker 3>Highway of Traffic Safety.
<v Speaker 1>So this is their electric vehicle. Does it have anything
<v Speaker 1>to do with that?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's just an update that has kind of gone wrong.
<v Speaker 3>And they're working on fixing it, obviously, right now.
<v Speaker 2>It's a big deal.
<v Speaker 3>This is one that you do not want to kind
<v Speaker 3>of be like a Nina, like she was talking about earlier,
<v Speaker 3>how she waited until the last minute to get her
<v Speaker 3>car fixed.
<v Speaker 2>No, don't do that. There's a couple different ways you
<v Speaker 2>can do it. You can bring it in. They are
<v Speaker 2>doing resets and recalls and things like that.
<v Speaker 3>It's just a software issue. You need to automatically do that.
<v Speaker 3>The automaker determined... last month that you could conduct a
<v Speaker 3>voluntary safety recall. But it's definitely something that you want
<v Speaker 3>to be doing. The owner notification letters are going to
<v Speaker 3>be sent out and mailed October 18th. For people that
<v Speaker 3>are dealing with that software issue, they will fix it
<v Speaker 3>for free for you.
<v Speaker 2>This is on them. Okay. So it's for free.
<v Speaker 1>But that's like a month away.
<v Speaker 2>But just be careful and be cautious. Well, you can
<v Speaker 2>do the voluntary one right now.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, do that.
<v Speaker 2>Which I would suggest just because you don't want to
<v Speaker 2>have all of a sudden no power on the highway.
<v Speaker 1>Imagine an I-25 or I-70. No, thank you.
<v Speaker 3>Well, I-25 is like the freaking Autobahn anyway, so you
<v Speaker 3>don't want to lose your power there. So if you
<v Speaker 3>have a Toyota CH-R, again, that's the electric one, just
<v Speaker 3>be cautious and be careful.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, please. And it smelled a little smoky along the
<v Speaker 1>front range yesterday in Denver, Fort Collins, and in Boulder.
<v Speaker 1>And it might smell just a little bit again this morning.
<v Speaker 1>But don't worry, there's no new fires in Colorado. That
<v Speaker 1>smoke is actually drifting in from Wyoming and Montana. And
<v Speaker 1>those who are sensitive to changes in air quality, I
<v Speaker 1>know a lot of people are very sensitive to that.
<v Speaker 1>You can rest easy because it's not really going to
<v Speaker 1>affect our air quality here. But you could smell a
<v Speaker 1>little bit of that smokiness. But you can still go
<v Speaker 1>for those outdoor walks or those runs. Unless you're me
<v Speaker 1>and you order an Uber for that two-minute ride.
<v Speaker 2>Don't even get me started.
<v Speaker 1>Sorry, Josh.
<v Speaker 2>Don't even.
<v Speaker 1>I told you you were going to judge me. I
<v Speaker 1>hate you. It's Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh
<v Speaker 1>on Mix 100, and this is around the time we
<v Speaker 1>play the game of the day, which is called Just
<v Speaker 1>a Sec Today. We're playing a one-second song clip. We
<v Speaker 1>want you to give us the title and artist. Callie
<v Speaker 1>in Longmont, you doing okay today?
<v Speaker 2>I'm doing good.
<v Speaker 1>I'm getting Starbucks before school, but I'm running kind of late. Oh,
<v Speaker 1>all right. So we'll make this quick, Callie, because I
<v Speaker 1>know you know what this song is, but I'm going
<v Speaker 1>to play for you one more time, okay?
<v Speaker 2>Okay.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, give me the title and the artist of that song.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's Levitating by Dua Lipa.
<v Speaker 4>It is Levitating by Dua Lipa.
<v Speaker 1>Congratulations. You're our winner right now. Thank you. You're welcome.
<v Speaker 1>You're going to go to a show tomorrow. You're going
<v Speaker 1>to see gym class heroes at Mission Ballroom. All right.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you so much.
<v Speaker 1>Of course. I know you got things to do, but
<v Speaker 1>go ahead and tell me what station just hooked it up.
<v Speaker 1>It's 100... I love that Callie was treating herself before
<v Speaker 1>going into school today. She's like, I'm going to show
<v Speaker 1>up to class a little bit late with my Starbucks,
<v Speaker 1>but that's okay.
<v Speaker 2>It's okay, as long as you get that coffee in you, right?
<v Speaker 1>Yes, it's needed for sure. I mean, it's the middle
<v Speaker 1>of the week. And the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
<v Speaker 1>Walk is returning October 11th to Tivoli Quad at the
<v Speaker 1>Auroria campus. We need your help. We want you to
<v Speaker 1>make a difference by signing up your own team for
<v Speaker 1>American Cancer Society's Making Strides of Colorado. Maybe you join
<v Speaker 1>a team, maybe create your own team, or you can
<v Speaker 1>just donate to the cause. October coming up, everything is
<v Speaker 1>going to be pretty and pink. And we want you
<v Speaker 1>to be a part of it.
<v Speaker 2>Heck yeah.
<v Speaker 3>It's going to be an amazing thing that helps save
<v Speaker 3>people's lives. And Nina, I think you and I should
<v Speaker 3>team up, right?
<v Speaker 1>I think we should. Let's start this week. We need
<v Speaker 1>to make our team. And then we'll have a link
<v Speaker 1>for people to sign up for our team.
<v Speaker 2>Let's do it. I love it.
<v Speaker 1>That would be a lot of fun.
<v Speaker 2>That's awesome.
<v Speaker 1>When you reach your golden years, it's a little difficult
<v Speaker 1>to decide exactly what you want to do. It's exciting
<v Speaker 1>to retire. But my parents are kind of going through
<v Speaker 1>this right now. In your retirement, sometimes you get a
<v Speaker 1>little bored. You're like, I don't even know what to
<v Speaker 1>do with myself. So there's a really fun story of
<v Speaker 1>one retiree and what they decided to do.
<v Speaker 2>It's so cute.
<v Speaker 3>A 91-year-old man named Eric Edwards has been working at
<v Speaker 3>McDonald's for eight years, not because he needs to at all,
<v Speaker 3>but because he genuinely loves it. eric gain online love
<v Speaker 3>and appreciation recently when a social media post featuring him
<v Speaker 3>went viral sadly his wife had passed away 24 years
<v Speaker 3>ago but he says working here helps him stay engaged
<v Speaker 3>and also enjoy life he added if it's something you
<v Speaker 3>can still do reasonably well and you enjoy it keeps
<v Speaker 3>you going why stop i love love love that mindset
<v Speaker 3>of his i think it's so cute and i think
<v Speaker 3>getting up and having kind of a purpose for the day,
<v Speaker 3>especially at that age.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, totally.
<v Speaker 3>Gives you longevity in life. I think that is adorable.
<v Speaker 3>So McDonald's, hats off to you, Eric Edwards.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, thank you so much for that. Josh, I have
<v Speaker 1>a friend, and she is the sweetest, cutest little thing ever.
<v Speaker 1>And she pulled a Nina where she actually just bought
<v Speaker 1>a house with her boyfriend before getting married, engaged, any
<v Speaker 1>of that.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, boy.
<v Speaker 1>That's its own subject. We'll talk about that someday. But.
<v Speaker 2>We're going to need to.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Her being in this new house, I know from
<v Speaker 1>experience when you are able to finally buy your first house, yes,
<v Speaker 1>you are excited. Yes, you can't wait to decorate. But
<v Speaker 1>you're also very house broke in the beginning.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, yes. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yes. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>You just spend all your money getting the house. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I remember that. It's not fun.
<v Speaker 3>You have like cardboard as some of your nightstands. You're like,
<v Speaker 3>that'll work for a little bit, right?
<v Speaker 2>It's fine.
<v Speaker 1>It's all right. We'll worry about that later. Yeah, exactly.
<v Speaker 1>But my friend, she just got into her new house
<v Speaker 1>maybe a month or two ago. And yesterday she posted
<v Speaker 1>a video of all her new fall decorations. And she's
<v Speaker 1>so excited and proud about how many decorations she put
<v Speaker 1>up in her new house. Of course, she had the
<v Speaker 1>wreath on the front door with all the leaves on it,
<v Speaker 1>little scarecrows all over the place. She has a whole
<v Speaker 1>little table display for football season.
<v Speaker 2>Just awesome. So she's going all out. Full nine yards, right?
<v Speaker 2>She went all out.
<v Speaker 1>And all I could think of as a homeowner is
<v Speaker 1>how much money she spent on these decorations. And these
<v Speaker 1>are just fall decorations. It's not even for Halloween or
<v Speaker 1>anything like that.
<v Speaker 2>Is she the type she's going to change everything for Halloween?
<v Speaker 1>Oh, for sure.
<v Speaker 2>For sure.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm curious your thoughts on decorating the house. Do
<v Speaker 1>you do it? How much effort and time and money
<v Speaker 1>do you put into it in decorating your house for
<v Speaker 1>each season?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so, okay, I'm a guy. I live alone. I
<v Speaker 2>don't decorate my house at all. It's very... Gosh, if
<v Speaker 2>you walked through my house, you'd be like, yeah, a
<v Speaker 2>guy owns this place. It's just a thing. Bachelor pad.
<v Speaker 2>For me, last year, when I put up my Christmas tree,
<v Speaker 2>I have a Christmas tree.
<v Speaker 1>That's good.
<v Speaker 2>I put it up. The lights are already pre-hung on it,
<v Speaker 2>and I do no decorations.
<v Speaker 1>No? You don't put up any ornaments or anything on it?
<v Speaker 2>I put that thing together, plug it in, and I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>all right, Merry Christmas, Josh. There we go. I'm minimalist
<v Speaker 2>as it can be. But I will say, she's a
<v Speaker 2>new homeowner. I understand the excitement. Yeah. Me personally, I
<v Speaker 2>give it one full season. We'll give it the holiday season.
<v Speaker 2>So I'm talking.
<v Speaker 3>We'll give you fall. So fall through Valentine's Day. And
<v Speaker 3>then after that, she's like, it's too expensive. I'm not
<v Speaker 3>doing this again.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. I really wonder because she did, in
<v Speaker 1>her little blurb on her video about all of her decorations,
<v Speaker 1>she posted that.
<v Speaker 2>She made a video about this?
<v Speaker 1>She did.
<v Speaker 2>She's vlogging her decoration experience?
<v Speaker 1>She is excited, I'm telling you. She's very much this
<v Speaker 1>kind of person. And she came from, she lived at home, okay?
<v Speaker 1>She lived at home with her parents.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, so she has some stuff saved then, right?
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if it's her stuff because she mentioned
<v Speaker 1>that her mom always decorated her house for every holiday,
<v Speaker 1>every season, every change that the world is going through
<v Speaker 1>or whatever. Her mom was just always decorating the house
<v Speaker 1>like to the nines. And so inspiration from that, that's
<v Speaker 1>what she wanted to do in her home. She's excited
<v Speaker 1>to make it her own. But I'm like, girl, how
<v Speaker 1>much money are you spending on all these decorations? Like,
<v Speaker 1>don't go into debt.
<v Speaker 2>Hobby Lobby ain't cheap. I know that.
<v Speaker 3>No, this is just one of those things, like, it
<v Speaker 3>just shows the vast difference between guys' and girls' brains.
<v Speaker 3>Just because, for me, like, when you get the house,
<v Speaker 3>I'm so excited for it. I want to obviously decorate
<v Speaker 3>it a certain style, but for me, when I first
<v Speaker 3>got it, I was like, Star Wars. I want Star
<v Speaker 3>Wars decorations everywhere. Stop.
<v Speaker 2>I want to get everything I couldn't get as a child.
<v Speaker 2>This is what I want. And then for her, she's like,
<v Speaker 2>fall and Halloween. I know.
<v Speaker 1>It's just so many orange leaves and stuff. And don't
<v Speaker 1>get me wrong. I was this way in the beginning, too,
<v Speaker 1>decorating all the time. But it's just a matter of time.
<v Speaker 3>This is why men need women in their lives. We
<v Speaker 3>need a decorator because I don't have an eye for.
<v Speaker 2>It at all.
<v Speaker 1>Well, you have an eye for it, and sometimes it's
<v Speaker 1>fun to do, but like you said, for that first
<v Speaker 1>season and then afterwards, you get so burnt out for it.
<v Speaker 3>So tiring.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm like, oh, my sweet, sweet Hannah. It's really
<v Speaker 1>cute for now, but girl, just wait. It'll go away.
<v Speaker 1>Don't worry. It'll go away.
