[SPEAKER_06]: Michael Mera, Radio Entertainment.
[SPEAKER_01]: The higher you get the game, and then the analogy lobby is quiet with what we will start to show.
[SPEAKER_06]: T-M-O-S, classic.
[SPEAKER_06]: Friday, flashback.
[SPEAKER_07]: Mike, you remember yesterday showed you a member of that show when a member there was the thing from I think it was a San Francisco TV station that aired the S word twice and immediately the anchors that all were very sorry to happen here that profanity yes that's one way to handle profanity on the air another good way is to just laugh it off and keep saying that it was bound to happen.
[SPEAKER_07]: Let's go to ESPN's Michael Smith on the show first take.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's insane to me.
[SPEAKER_04]: Are you impressed by this?
[SPEAKER_07]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, and by the way, what he's talking about is pretty great.
[SPEAKER_07]: If you've ever seen the vine vine video, a Penn State Lineman tackles a tree.
[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, literally tackles a tree.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's fantastic.
[SPEAKER_04]: Hello, I'm happy you're impressed by it.
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm a tackled a tree.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's that right there is why guys do stupid stupid stupid stupid
[SPEAKER_04]: It was about to happen.
[SPEAKER_04]: It was about to happen.
[SPEAKER_04]: It was about to happen.
[SPEAKER_04]: I'll see you all next week.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, let me know how fast that is up for you.
[SPEAKER_07]: So what you got to do is watch this guy say the answer, but then watch the guy tackle the tree.
[SPEAKER_07]: Both great videos.
[SPEAKER_06]: I think that anybody that's going to throw rocks at this guy has to be mindful of the fact that they should never ever cost them for their children.
[SPEAKER_06]: And let's get a line of people that have never done that.
[SPEAKER_06]: Say you got a 10 year old kid and let's find the kid that has never had their folks come to some front of them by accident.
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_07]: Well, you know what I love when I do it now, Robert says language.
[SPEAKER_07]: So a couple weeks ago when they announced that they were touring and they put out that live Japan album Sammy Heygars said David Lee Ross sucks Essentially.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and now they asked David Lee Ross about that when he was on the red carpet is it called the red carpet after an award show still red carpet Okay, so he's on the red carpet.
[SPEAKER_07]: They say that when he tours with Van Halen, are they gonna sing any songs from Van Heygars?
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a credibility issue there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Good batter in the middle, you know, Roth means it.
[SPEAKER_03]: The other guy doesn't.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that's why it sold half as well.
[SPEAKER_03]: Literally, Midas, Bible, half, never did better than half.
[SPEAKER_03]: And why would you bring that into the proceedings?
[SPEAKER_03]: This hamburger don't need no helper.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly, Mike.
[SPEAKER_03]: This hamburger don't need no helper.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's one show failed.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's why it failed.
[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, you know what?
[SPEAKER_07]: Just like all of us fired by CBS.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but I remember I turned on I turned on his show and I said, okay, what's this going to be like and it was like that.
[SPEAKER_05]: It was just riddles and rhymes and I said, where is this show?
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, where's the hamburger?
[SPEAKER_07]: No need no elbow.
[SPEAKER_06]: I haven't credit though.
[SPEAKER_06]: I saw him on the billboard.
[SPEAKER_06]: The opening of the billboard music awards.
[SPEAKER_06]: He has changed the look.
[SPEAKER_06]: You remember the one we saw in Philadelphia robber.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, the Spandex and he looked ridiculous.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, he sort of lost it.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_06]: He's well, he's gone acdc and those guys have been around for 70 years.
[SPEAKER_06]: That because they they keep that little, you know, wear some tweed and some leather and some vests.
[SPEAKER_07]: And you can get away when you listen to Van Halen on the awards though.
[SPEAKER_07]: Didn't it sound like most of the stuff was being played by a guy with a record player backstage.
[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, there was a lot of over W.
[SPEAKER_07]: You get the same feeling when you watch Charlie Watts jump drum for the stones like he's not really doing that So he's got a machine back there.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, but I will tell you that performing live Sammy Hagar still does a better job Yeah, he does you know, and I was just a there people that love early Van Halen and people that love Van Hagar at the same time Stop it, please.
[SPEAKER_06]: Maybe they're trying to do it.
[SPEAKER_07]: Can't we all just get along like I say I'm Facebook
[SPEAKER_07]: There is a comedy group called the shunky brothers there from Australia and one of them is named Laz shunky, L.O.Z, or maybe L.O.Z and Laz shunky, that's the guy's name.
[SPEAKER_07]: He's Australian.
[SPEAKER_07]: He recorded a fart and he realized that if he slowed the fart down just a bit, it was a major seventh and B-flat with a twill and so here is what he has done.
[SPEAKER_07]: He gives you the fart and then plays it on musical instruments.
[SPEAKER_07]: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
[SPEAKER_07]: And if I get the quote right at, oh, sorry about that loss, I think the quote was, and it all came out of my arse.
[SPEAKER_07]: So there you go.
[SPEAKER_07]: Every now and then when you're gathering audio, you hear tape of someone that you want to meet.
[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, there's a lot of people out there, but I really want to meet John Jones Jr. of Atlanta.
[SPEAKER_07]: He is a truck driver.
[SPEAKER_07]: He's been out of work for over a year, and he was fighting with his wife and he got mad and he was bored.
[SPEAKER_07]: So he decided to drive his truck through his house.
[SPEAKER_07]: Now here's the deal, not at least we're called, but there's no law against it so they couldn't do anything So they interviewed him after the fact don't you want to meet this guy?
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know it just one of those bad moments crazy things been out of work for past year and half
[SPEAKER_02]: Why not, and don't play, but hey, keep him busy.
[SPEAKER_02]: And probably he's come out here.
[SPEAKER_02]: I told my needed air condition.
[SPEAKER_02]: I said, open the window.
[SPEAKER_02]: Tell my wife and enough.
[SPEAKER_02]: As you can see, he had nice breeze.
[SPEAKER_02]: A copy, jinxed me.
[SPEAKER_02]: He said, man, I can't believe he didn't plot no tires.
[SPEAKER_02]: Next morning, it was Lincoln.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just not going there because I will do it.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, my chances are he lives on Peach Street.
[SPEAKER_07]: But that is John Jones Jr. of Atlanta.
[SPEAKER_06]: T.M.O.S.
[SPEAKER_06]: Classic.
[SPEAKER_07]: would you consider yourself a thanksgiving dominator dominator no and you always talk about that you do this and you do use to do that used to do the Thanksgiving thing and it's gotten to know we all gather at my uncle George's house and we all bring some of that's if you want to know that's George Bailey exactly that's exactly right this to George Bailey he's yeah he got himself a huge stack of bricks and center of it
[SPEAKER_07]: They'll be about 60 of us.
[SPEAKER_07]: There'll be some extended, if it will have three turkeys in a ham.
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, I only got, and only got 10s one particular Thanksgiving.
[SPEAKER_06]: And what you said?
[SPEAKER_06]: The one where you looked across the table and said, why, George, you're worth more dead than a lie.
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, and also an Uncle Billy lost the deed to the house and we all had to What a stand in the door.
[SPEAKER_07]: Thanks.
[SPEAKER_07]: Uncle Billy.
[SPEAKER_07]: Uncle Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: If you don't watch it, by the way, if you watch it, it's a wonderful Life the day after the holiday next week.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_06]: Remember that Robin I. Cust, Uncle Billy, the stupid, Stick that loses all the money for the Bedford I have seen.
[SPEAKER_07]: I have been in a room with my father when Uncle Billy gives the paper to Mr. Potter and it has the money.
[SPEAKER_07]: And my father stands up and says, God damn it!
[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_07]: The greatest holiday picture of them all.
[SPEAKER_05]: Why don't you go lose.
[SPEAKER_05]: How do he lose all of them?
[SPEAKER_05]: He has a new feeling.
[SPEAKER_05]: Just a daily watch it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Was that a positive scheme?
[SPEAKER_06]: Have he watched it so wonderful life?
[SPEAKER_04]: It was a positive scheme.
[SPEAKER_04]: No, I never saw it.
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, George Bailey has a brother that goes off to war.
[SPEAKER_06]: Hymie Bailey.
[SPEAKER_07]: No, Hymie.
[SPEAKER_07]: Why?
[SPEAKER_06]: What's his name?
[SPEAKER_06]: What's the brother's?
[SPEAKER_06]: I bet you don't know the red brother's name.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's George Bailey.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, it's George Bailey.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, it's George Bailey's.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, it's George Bailey's.
[SPEAKER_06]: Jimmy's the brother that's the war hero that Uncle Billy's all excited about.
[SPEAKER_06]: That's why Uncle Billy is all happy because he won the Medal of Honor.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's because George Bailey's claim.
[SPEAKER_06]: Claim Bailey now is it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, you don't know.
[SPEAKER_06]: You don't know.
[SPEAKER_06]: It'll come to me.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Tony.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's gonna give you that Tony Bailey Tony Bailey.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's Billy.
[SPEAKER_06]: It
[SPEAKER_06]: Harry, oh, you got it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I had to go back to my head.
[SPEAKER_06]: Harry, Harry Bailey.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, so what happens Oscar is that Harry Bailey wins the metal of honor.
[SPEAKER_06]: And Uncle Billy is charged with going to the bank and making the deposit for the building alone, which incidentally doesn't make a lot of sense, Rob, because
[SPEAKER_07]: If it's a bank anyway, a building alone, why aren't they not just keeping the money they wouldn't have to read a positive and not be going to a different brain remember at that point I think Potter had bought half interest in it remember that right yet it almost remember he had they'd almost failed and Potter was leaning on them really hard.
[SPEAKER_07]: So you can't really really can't go to that movie and start, you know, breaking down the finance.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, breaking up the financial.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, I can.
[SPEAKER_06]: I can.
[SPEAKER_06]: I know you can.
[SPEAKER_06]: So Uncle Billy is charged with taking the deposit to the big chunk, right?
[SPEAKER_06]: And it was that it.
[SPEAKER_06]: It was that it.
[SPEAKER_06]: Stack your cash.
[SPEAKER_06]: Isn't it $8,000?
[SPEAKER_06]: I believe it is.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, man.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's $8,000 and he's got it wrapped up in the newspaper.
[SPEAKER_06]: Because that's what stupid people do because that's what stupid people do.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's not in like one of those little vinyl pouches because Uncle Billy's a Stick on yeah, not only is he damn Uncle Billy a functional idiot He also lives in a house with a squirrel and a crow and that is never really emphasized enough right that he probably has sex with
[SPEAKER_07]: So he's at home raping the crow.
[SPEAKER_06]: And incidentally, wink, wink.
[SPEAKER_06]: Listen, let's listen to who gave the biggest laugh at that joke.
[SPEAKER_06]: Our friend, our friend with the sugar gliders.
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, he needed water and a bandage.
[SPEAKER_06]: Uncle Billy is in a really really really good mood because Harry Bailey won the Medal of Honor Right coming back from the war and he's gloating to the evil Mr. Potter who controls everything And he he comes over it and he's got his $8,000 in wrapped up in the newspaper and because he's stupid He hands the newspaper to Mr. Potter to show him the fact that Harry Bailey won and he walks away because
[SPEAKER_05]: And you should know why didn't Mr. Potter because he's inherently evil hitting column on a cell.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, no, no, Mr. Potter, Mr. Mr. Potter discovers the money inside the newspaper and that would be the honorable thing and the decent thing to do to let you know what's going on.
[SPEAKER_07]: But believe actually that is the scene or at least one of the scenes where he says shove me up because he goes back into his office finds the words out the door.
[SPEAKER_07]: That's right, and he sees Uncle Billy and Uncle Billy is also one of those guys that tight strings around his fingers And did you notice on the movie when they show his hands a lack of hygiene?
[SPEAKER_07]: It looks horrible Uncle Billy, what's horrible?
[SPEAKER_07]: Why being it?
[SPEAKER_07]: So the A.K.
[SPEAKER_07]: So was the A.K.?
[SPEAKER_07]: That's the money.
[SPEAKER_07]: Well, let me finish.
[SPEAKER_06]: He finds the money in the newspaper and opens it up and there's the $8,000.
[SPEAKER_06]: Then he asks his little assistant to push him up to peer through the door.
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, it looks out into the bank lobby and of course Uncle Billy is
[SPEAKER_06]: Again.
[SPEAKER_07]: Again.
[SPEAKER_06]: And what she just does constantly not doing it obviously, but he's rubbing himself inside.
[SPEAKER_07]: Well, he would think it's just with so many people that are feeble minded.
[SPEAKER_07]: He spends most of the movie with an auction.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_06]: Like Dopey.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's not way to the seven doors.
[SPEAKER_06]: A lot of people don't know that Dopey was a really chronic.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's disgusting.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's really.
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, it's constant.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's constant with the, you know, with Uncle Bill.
[SPEAKER_05]: What happens with the money?
[SPEAKER_07]: Do you really want to know the end name?
[SPEAKER_07]: Spoiler alert.
[SPEAKER_07]: The movie just came out in 1946.
[SPEAKER_07]: So, right.
[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, they eventually, the towns people find out that George is in trouble.
[SPEAKER_07]: And even though you're skipping way ahead, let me get all you want to know.
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, you really want to know.
[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_06]: Uncle Billy starts to panic because he can't find the money and he goes back and he asked to tell George He panicked so badly Mike that he can no longer sustain his Yeah, and he also he soils himself Yeah, and he goes back to the building alone and George Bailey played by Jimmy Stewart Just beats him almost within an inch of his yeah
[SPEAKER_06]: fall beats him clean.
[SPEAKER_06]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_07]: Because what they keep at the building and loan is they keep actually a picture of the father who found the building and loan and that's a reminder where they came from, but he also keeps a sock full of babies.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_07]: And he uses the sweat sock full of babies to be proud.
[SPEAKER_06]: That's the first thing he does when he's sitting in the torso.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, he's a distant relative.
[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, it's not you can read it on this and wrote it right, but the thing is you know the scene in casino Where they break the man's hand the George Bailey does that's Uncle Billy man.
[SPEAKER_06]: He puts his hand out and he said Okay, which hand do you count the money with and Uncle Billy goes no George.
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know what's happened then and then George smashes his hand with a hammer and break breaking his hand kills no mercy you make me pop your eye out for that
[SPEAKER_06]: It's what it says.
[SPEAKER_06]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_07]: George Bailey looks at our cabillian says, you gave the money to Charlie and you gave him the money.
[SPEAKER_06]: to Charlie, and Mr. Potter.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, no, that's George Bailey.
[SPEAKER_06]: Mr. Mr. Potter is back.
[SPEAKER_06]: No one knows that Mr. Potter has the money.
[SPEAKER_05]: Right, so Uncle Billy's like Robert De Nero in this thing.
[SPEAKER_06]: Very similar, very similar.
[SPEAKER_06]: At this point, Uncle Billy is incoherent because he's in such agony, but George Bailey leaves him in the office.
[SPEAKER_06]: And then when he goes out, suddenly people find out that they have lost the money at the building in loan.
[SPEAKER_06]: And there's a run on the bank because Mr. Potter
[SPEAKER_06]: The fact that they don't have any assets at this point is in Georgia's father dead, so I think Yeah, actually there's a slight you had a slight hiccup there.
[SPEAKER_07]: The run on the bank was earlier That was the great depression on the day of his wedding.
[SPEAKER_07]: What happened is when George Bailey found out that they lost all the money He went to try to cash it in his life insurance and that's when he walked into I believe he was in an opium Dan and he went he went and he found a strategic thunder.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, he wanted to have Mr. Potter's opium down and Mr. Potter's there in his wheelchair But also a silk rope
[SPEAKER_07]: And he says, George, you're worth more dead than alive, and George goes to kill himself.
[SPEAKER_07]: Really?
[SPEAKER_07]: He's going to judge wants to kill himself.
[SPEAKER_07]: But George is in control of us and make it.
[SPEAKER_07]: And also, you know, it's killing himself.
[SPEAKER_07]: Just want a bad day thinking you think he can't get any worse.
[SPEAKER_07]: He goes home, it's Christmas Eve, and he goes up to Sarah's to find his wife Donorid.
[SPEAKER_07]: And she's f***ing burnt the cab driver.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's terrible.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's not real.
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm so excited.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's burnt.
[SPEAKER_07]: the cop and or any of the cab driver.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's the dumbest.
[SPEAKER_05]: I've never heard anything about this.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, it's implied because it's an older movie.
[SPEAKER_06]: They don't actually show penetration, but you know what's going on.
[SPEAKER_06]: And then he is so destroyed by this that he goes out and he wrecks his car.
[SPEAKER_06]: matches his car into a tree and then he walks to this bridge right and as he gets the bridge starting to snow and he doesn't have any options so he decides to throw himself into the river and commit suicide right when he plunges into the river he's rescued by a clown that's
[SPEAKER_06]: who goes, oh, Joseph!
[SPEAKER_06]: Joseph!
[SPEAKER_06]: Hock, oh, Joseph!
[SPEAKER_06]: And that's, and so Clarence takes him back into this little shed, which I never really understood.
[SPEAKER_06]: Why they have a shed that's next to a bridge where it's snowing and there's some other guy and they're doing God knows what I think.
[SPEAKER_06]: I think we're ice fishing?
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_06]: No, it's not always fishing and at this paddling meth Mike.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, the clown says, I'm your guardian angel.
[SPEAKER_06]: And that's my dad.
[SPEAKER_06]: And at that point, you're a family we hate to reference to nearer movies again, but you remember the scene where Billy Bats comes back from prison and Joe Peshie comes in then George really opens up on clearance the clown.
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
[SPEAKER_06]: And they don't kill him.
[SPEAKER_06]: They don't kill him.
[SPEAKER_06]: He actually follows him around and they go to a place they go to.
[SPEAKER_06]: I think it's a, I think it's a tilted killed.
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and it's the tilted killed.
[SPEAKER_07]: It's the first one.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's the first one, right?
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
[SPEAKER_06]: The tilted killed.
[SPEAKER_06]: George goes in there, gets into a fight, goes downtown, gets into another fight.
[SPEAKER_06]: And it goes on.
[SPEAKER_07]: Well, to be fair, Mike, when they were in the tilted killed, George would had a couple drinks.
[SPEAKER_07]: Couldn't keep his hands to himself and was all over the
[SPEAKER_06]: the slutty wages really all over yeah well I thought he was over the wash his hands and that that's when the uh... the town prostitute violet bick that's not happening what is the town uh... get get together and help out okay so so what happens is they leave the uh... the bar uh... with uh... clearance that clown George bale who is just covered in vomit yeah and it's the hookers still with them
[SPEAKER_06]: What is the hooker still with them or do they leave violence?
[SPEAKER_06]: He's taking care of the men at the tilted kill.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, that's right.
[SPEAKER_06]: Three at a time.
[SPEAKER_06]: That's her mind.
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm trying to remember when it all gets better for George.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think like actually, I think that's the end of the movie.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now now you've said that the town rallies and helps them.
[SPEAKER_05]: And now that's the director's cut.
[SPEAKER_06]: So one of the things they have a lot of shots that this has a, you'll like this Oscar because it's got a space component.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, all right.
[SPEAKER_06]: I'll show this shot.
[SPEAKER_06]: There's an asteroid up there that's kind of and it's that the technology is not there that we have with CGI The asteroid is kind of a it looks like a a black screen where they're just pressing kind of a button to make it look like a light Right, that's the asteroid that's a hurtling towards Earth the me asteroids talk don't they rob they do they do and they talk about how much they hate Earthlings and that they're going to destroy us
[SPEAKER_07]: This was exciting.
[SPEAKER_07]: It was a sci-fi.
[SPEAKER_07]: No, it is a way ahead of its time to upgrade sci-fi and crisp interest.
[SPEAKER_07]: Interesting.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's one of the first science fiction Christmas movies.
[SPEAKER_07]: Pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_06]: And they figure out that the only way they're going to be able to prevent this asteroid is quite a simple and almost inconceivably easy method.
[SPEAKER_07]: It was a ring of bell.
[SPEAKER_06]: It was in the time.
[SPEAKER_06]: They rang a bell to avoid the asteroid from back to the plunging into the earth.
[SPEAKER_05]: I thought the timeline.
[SPEAKER_05]: This isn't the only holiday alien movie.
[SPEAKER_05]: I thought the timeline for Earth Girls are easy.
[SPEAKER_05]: Was during the holidays, but this is earlier.
[SPEAKER_07]: This is the first one.
[SPEAKER_07]: And what they do is while they're ringing the bells, they're actually able to land a probe on the comet.
[SPEAKER_06]: Ah, which was, this is the best part of the movie.
[SPEAKER_06]: He wasn't even born then.
[SPEAKER_06]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_06]: Wasn't that big a deal.
[SPEAKER_06]: So they saved the earth.
[SPEAKER_06]: Clarence brings George back to his house where miraculously, the town people have had a yard sale and in the snow, which is very, very rare.
[SPEAKER_06]: This sold all of George Bailey's back issues of playboy.
[SPEAKER_07]: And they used the money.
[SPEAKER_07]: And this is my favorite part.
[SPEAKER_07]: This is one of the closing scenes.
[SPEAKER_07]: They go into the living room and everyone is gathered.
[SPEAKER_07]: You know what they're doing?
[SPEAKER_07]: What?
[SPEAKER_06]: They're all lying, Zine Robby, they're all lying.
[SPEAKER_06]: They'll forget up, they're waterboarding, Mr. Potter.
[SPEAKER_06]: which has installed the money and that well, he stole a lot of money from a lot of people, but they're waterboarding him and he doesn't have the use of his legs.
[SPEAKER_06]: He's not even more painous crying than that happens.
[SPEAKER_06]: Now Violet Bick meanwhile has turned many, many tricks over at the tilted kilk and she collects her money and she brings it back to Georgia's house.
[SPEAKER_06]: And at that point, all the kids are there, wonderful Donner Reed, hopefully Jimmy Stewart's wife, who is just tray boxed.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it didn't feel free to stay there.
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, she's topless.
[SPEAKER_06]: She's not full front of her.
[SPEAKER_06]: She's wearing an apron and she's like, she's not, she'd be bitch.
