<v Speaker 1>You're waking up to Denver's Morning.
<v Speaker 2>Show with Nina and Josh.
<v Speaker 3>Mix 100.
<v Speaker 4>Josh, I feel like, this is so bad. Are you
<v Speaker 4>familiar with Alex Earle? I feel like you might be.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, yeah, yeah, I know her.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, yes, you're like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Well, she's like famous for like just the get ready
<v Speaker 1>with me stuff, right?
<v Speaker 4>Yes, so she is an influencer. She is just very,
<v Speaker 4>very popular online. Yes, she's super duper hot. But I
<v Speaker 4>fear she is bringing back women in 2026.
<v Speaker 2>It's really bad because something just happened.
<v Speaker 4>She just admitted proudly at 25 years old, a full-blown adult,
<v Speaker 4>that she has never read a book.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>This is bad.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, hold on. How do you get through school without
<v Speaker 1>reading a book?
<v Speaker 2>Did she get fully through school?
<v Speaker 1>She's like, I'm pretty.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. I don't know her school history. I don't want
<v Speaker 2>to be mean, say too much. I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Also, she's only 25?
<v Speaker 2>She's only 25 years old.
<v Speaker 1>She looks like she's like 42. Oh my gosh.
<v Speaker 2>Well, I didn't want to be mean today, but you
<v Speaker 2>go for it, Josh.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, I didn't know if that's mean. Okay, sorry. She
<v Speaker 1>has a very mature look. There we go.
<v Speaker 3>Sorry.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't know that was mean.
<v Speaker 2>She's 25 years old.
<v Speaker 4>She was doing a quick round of questions, doing her
<v Speaker 4>influencer stuff, right? And they asked, what's the last.
<v Speaker 2>Book you read?
<v Speaker 4>Which is a pretty common question for that type of
<v Speaker 4>quick round question type of thing. And she said, well,
<v Speaker 4>I haven't ever really read a book. And then she
<v Speaker 4>was like, oh, well, maybe Dr. Seuss when I was little. Like,
<v Speaker 4>come on, what are we doing here?
<v Speaker 3>That's really interesting because right now I feel like is
<v Speaker 3>a time where a lot of women, I mean, there's
<v Speaker 3>so many different books that women are reading all the time.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, people are so into it.
<v Speaker 1>Smart books?
<v Speaker 2>Like, yeah, even I got into it. I read one
<v Speaker 2>of those.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I read Verity. I mean, come on now, people.
<v Speaker 3>That's interesting. I feel like that's not the norm, obviously.
<v Speaker 3>So you might be right in the fact, you know,
<v Speaker 3>kind of setting women back a little bit, but.
<v Speaker 1>Look, she doesn't need to. I hate to say it.
<v Speaker 1>She doesn't need to.
<v Speaker 2>No, she doesn't.
<v Speaker 4>But at the same time, if she wants to continue
<v Speaker 4>in her career, if she is, I don't know what
<v Speaker 4>she's trying to do, but if she wants to be
<v Speaker 4>an interviewer, like a lot of the times people are
<v Speaker 4>reading books and you're supposed to read their book to
<v Speaker 4>do some of your homework on an interview.
<v Speaker 2>If she wants to be taken seriously, read a book, girl.
<v Speaker 1>Well, and just don't. I appreciate her honesty.
<v Speaker 3>There's a lot of people out there that hold a
<v Speaker 3>book in their hand during interviews and stuff and look
<v Speaker 3>like they're reading when in reality they're not because they'll
<v Speaker 3>get asked questions about that book and they're like, I
<v Speaker 3>just started it. Where's the cliff notes? Yeah, exactly. Let
<v Speaker 3>me get the spark notes. I appreciate her honesty, but also, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>there are countless studies that show how good it is
<v Speaker 3>to read a book.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, but being 25 and saying I've never read a book,
<v Speaker 4>that's crazy.
<v Speaker 1>Put down the phone, pick up a book.
<v Speaker 2>I hate that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's very interesting. Okay, this gets me so excited.
<v Speaker 3>Undercover Boss is coming back. So this is a show
<v Speaker 3>that I loved back in the day.
<v Speaker 1>It would always.
<v Speaker 3>tug on your heartstrings. There was always that one person
<v Speaker 3>that was working so hard and so underpaid. And the
<v Speaker 3>boss would finally get to see them. And then there
<v Speaker 3>was also the jerk in there that's like, I hate
<v Speaker 3>my boss. And the boss is like, it's me. Hello.
<v Speaker 1>It's me.
<v Speaker 3>Hey. They're bringing it back. CBS just announced that they're
<v Speaker 3>bringing it back. It last aired in 2022. It's now
<v Speaker 3>in pre-production with a little bit of a twist. Drew Carey, yes,
<v Speaker 3>that Drew Carey from The Price is Right, is going
<v Speaker 3>to be joining the series as a host. Previous seasons
<v Speaker 3>did not have a host. So I'm very interested to
<v Speaker 3>see how this is going to go. Because normally, if
<v Speaker 3>you see the person like Drew Carey, you're like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>I'm on undercover boss.
<v Speaker 1>Right.
<v Speaker 3>So I don't know if he's just going to be
<v Speaker 3>hosting the show from like afar. And then finally, like
<v Speaker 3>when the show kind of has its conclusion and then
<v Speaker 3>like the boss meets the person who's working so hard,
<v Speaker 3>that's when they see him.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not sure how this is going to work, but
<v Speaker 1>I'm so excited. It's coming back. I think they said next,
<v Speaker 1>next year. So.
<v Speaker 3>Something to look forward to for me. I like that
<v Speaker 3>they're kind of bringing back reality shows because now everything's
<v Speaker 3>going the streaming way. And I like that CBS is like, uh-uh,
<v Speaker 3>we're going to bring back some shows to watch weekly.
<v Speaker 1>I agree.
<v Speaker 2>Reality shows, we need more of them. I am so
<v Speaker 2>about that.
<v Speaker 1>They're so addicting.
<v Speaker 2>Welcome back, Drew Carey. We love you. I talked earlier
<v Speaker 2>about Ella Langley. Of course, we have those Ella Langley
<v Speaker 2>tickets up for grabs.
<v Speaker 1>Those are popular, I've heard.
<v Speaker 4>Oh, yeah. Just a little bit. Pretty much everyone wants them.
<v Speaker 4>And so we do have tickets that we're giving away
<v Speaker 4>here on Mix 100. And you have to text in
<v Speaker 4>the keywords when you get them. We have more keywords
<v Speaker 4>for you today and tomorrow. And your next keyword happens
<v Speaker 4>at 8 a.m. And then shortly after that, Josh, we
<v Speaker 4>have a major prize to give away. We found out
<v Speaker 4>yesterday and we put up a little teaser video on
<v Speaker 4>our Instagram and Facebook.
<v Speaker 2>That we're giving away family four.
<v Speaker 4>Packs of tickets to go see your Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's a huge, huge ticket, especially after the win
<v Speaker 3>they had last night, Nina.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, my gosh.
<v Speaker 1>So good. Unbelievable.
<v Speaker 3>Big Rob, our boss, has got to stop leaving these
<v Speaker 3>tickets on his desk because you and I, we just
<v Speaker 3>walk past. He's got these big glass windows there.
<v Speaker 1>We see them. We just take them. We're like, let's
<v Speaker 1>give them away.
<v Speaker 3>Mine.
<v Speaker 1>Let's just give them away. Mine. I want to give
<v Speaker 1>these to people.
<v Speaker 3>Absolutely. These four packs also include so many perks with it.
<v Speaker 3>It includes drinks and food that come along with it.
<v Speaker 3>It's like your tickets are loaded. Yeah. with money, free
<v Speaker 3>money on there as well, which is awesome. And then
<v Speaker 3>I think they're taking on the St. Louis Blues that day,
<v Speaker 3>so that'll be a really good game as well.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so that is just very exciting.
<v Speaker 4>So 820 is when we're going to do a little
<v Speaker 4>contest for that. So if you want more details on
<v Speaker 4>what contest we're going to be doing at 820, go
<v Speaker 4>check out the video that we put up on our
<v Speaker 4>Instagram at Mix100Denver. We had some fun with that.
<v Speaker 1>We did, for sure.
<v Speaker 2>And we're talking about some shopping habits here.
<v Speaker 4>So I personally still love to go in-store to go
<v Speaker 4>shopping for clothes.
<v Speaker 3>I wanted to ask you that because I feel like
<v Speaker 3>you are a professional shopper.
<v Speaker 1>You just gave me that vibe.
<v Speaker 3>We're still getting to know each other here, and I
<v Speaker 3>love it, but I definitely have that vibe that you
<v Speaker 3>are Miss Professional Shopper over there.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like I dabble a little bit, for sure.
<v Speaker 4>But, yeah, I do enjoy still going into actual storefronts.
<v Speaker 4>I hate shopping online, first of all, because you just
<v Speaker 4>never know how things actually fit.
<v Speaker 2>You can go through the measurements all you want.
<v Speaker 4>I always try to read reviews as well because that
<v Speaker 4>is helpful when people will post up reviews like true
<v Speaker 4>to size or not, runs small, runs big, whatever. But
<v Speaker 4>at the end of the day, if you don't actually
<v Speaker 4>physically try it on, you just don't know what you're
<v Speaker 4>going to get.
<v Speaker 1>And for me.
<v Speaker 4>Another part of me, Josh, that I don't know that
<v Speaker 4>you've seen too, too much just yet, I'm a little hippie.
<v Speaker 2>I am a hippie dude.
<v Speaker 1>I get vibes of that, which I like. I think
<v Speaker 1>that's really chill and cool.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I like it. I like it.
<v Speaker 4>But when it comes to environmental stuff, I get real
<v Speaker 4>passionate about it.
<v Speaker 1>I love that.
<v Speaker 4>With returns, online purchases, returns, and I know how much
<v Speaker 4>everyone loves Amazon. Forever, I was so anti-Amazon. Because a
<v Speaker 4>lot of their returns are not going anywhere except for
<v Speaker 4>the landfill.
<v Speaker 2>And that is just awful.
<v Speaker 4>And so I'm just so almost against shopping online unless
<v Speaker 4>I really have to.
<v Speaker 1>For sure.
<v Speaker 3>I get that. And I think, Nina, it's funny. For me,
<v Speaker 3>one thing you might not know about me, I love
<v Speaker 3>to shop. That's one of my guilty pleasures.
<v Speaker 1>I love it. I love buying things for myself and
<v Speaker 1>for people, whether it's whoever it's for. It doesn't matter.
<v Speaker 3>I just like to go. But I like to... go
<v Speaker 3>into stores. I like to feel what I'm going to buy.
<v Speaker 3>I like a good heavy t-shirt or a heavy hoodie.
<v Speaker 3>I like the weighted things.
<v Speaker 1>Good quality. Yes. Good quality. And I feel like there's.
<v Speaker 3>So many things that you could buy online that are
<v Speaker 3>just so cheaply made and it feels that way. Right.
<v Speaker 2>Yes.
<v Speaker 3>And I don't like that. So I am an in-store
<v Speaker 3>person through and through. I love going in and feeling
<v Speaker 3>and trying on what I'm going to buy. Because like
<v Speaker 3>you said, You can have all the trust in the
<v Speaker 3>world of reviews online.
<v Speaker 1>It ain't the same.
<v Speaker 4>No, it really is not the same. And we talked
<v Speaker 4>a little bit last week, I think, about thrift shopping.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 4>And you've gotten into it a little bit more, but
<v Speaker 4>with thrift shopping, you really can.
<v Speaker 2>Find some good stuff. You want to talk about high quality.
<v Speaker 3>That's where you find the gold, which is so crazy
<v Speaker 3>to say because, again, I wasn't against it. It wasn't
<v Speaker 3>for me, okay? It wasn't for me for the longest time.
<v Speaker 3>And my brother, he got me into it. Joey, shout
<v Speaker 3>out Joey. And he showed me the hidden treasures that
<v Speaker 3>you can find. And I'm not even just talking clothes.
<v Speaker 3>You can find anything. At a thrift store. And it
<v Speaker 3>is so cool to see what he finds and what
<v Speaker 3>he's showed me, like how to find.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Because now I'm looking for these things.
<v Speaker 3>And you have a Denver Broncos jacket, right?
<v Speaker 1>Yes. Was that a thrift find?
<v Speaker 2>That was a thrift find.
<v Speaker 1>Thing is freaking awesome.
<v Speaker 2>It's so good. And it's the throwback logo and everything.
<v Speaker 1>So cool.
<v Speaker 2>Little windbreaker action.
<v Speaker 1>I love it. Actually, you know what?
<v Speaker 3>303-691-1649. Text us your thrift store treasure finds. I want
<v Speaker 3>to know what else you have found there because- There
<v Speaker 3>are so many stories of even people finding something, spending
<v Speaker 3>50 cents on it, and then all of a sudden
<v Speaker 3>they find out that it's.
<v Speaker 1>Worth $ 10, 000. Right.
<v Speaker 3>And they sell it at an auction or something. So
<v Speaker 3>I want to know your thrift store finds.
<v Speaker 1>303-691-1649. Let us know.
<v Speaker 2>Please let us know. That's so exciting.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, that's interesting that shopping in-store versus online.
<v Speaker 2>And I don't know. There's just so.
<v Speaker 1>Much to it.
<v Speaker 3>I will say there's a study that came out. More
<v Speaker 3>people still prefer it in-store, which I like to see. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Because I feel like, you know, we're so dominated by
<v Speaker 3>online shopping. It's thrown in our faces with every ad
<v Speaker 3>that we see on social media.
<v Speaker 2>It really is.
<v Speaker 3>So I like that we still can see those ads
<v Speaker 3>and go, you know what? No, I'm still going to
<v Speaker 3>Nordy's or I'm still going to a thrift store. I
<v Speaker 3>love the Ark, you know, all that stuff.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, exactly. So shout out to all the thrift stores.
<v Speaker 4>Shout out to all the mom and pops out there
<v Speaker 4>that are just doing their best. People still like to
<v Speaker 4>go to stores. I promise you.
<v Speaker 3>We do.
<v Speaker 2>We do. And keep up with those fitting rooms, please.
<v Speaker 4>Three things you need to know before you head into
<v Speaker 4>the office today, including this viral story coming from Arizona.
<v Speaker 4>Police got a call about an animal that fell down
<v Speaker 4>a canal in Arizona. You know they have those canals
<v Speaker 4>all over the place out there in Arizona. Well, officers
<v Speaker 4>show up to the scene. There are neighbors around where...
<v Speaker 4>this incident happened and the neighbors actually got this animal
<v Speaker 4>out safely and held it until police and animal control
<v Speaker 4>got there and to the officer's surprise they're thinking maybe
<v Speaker 4>it's a dog a cat no it was an.
<v Speaker 1>Emu Like Lemu Emu?
<v Speaker 2>Yes.
<v Speaker 1>That's who it was.
<v Speaker 2>A giant bird. What? The sunglasses were not included.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, shoot.
<v Speaker 2>But a giant emu bird all wet from the canal.
<v Speaker 4>And one officer, it was actually his first week on
<v Speaker 4>the job, and he's like, well, this is going to
<v Speaker 4>be interesting.
<v Speaker 1>That's a memorable one.
<v Speaker 2>And here's the thing.
<v Speaker 4>They don't know who it belongs to. And I was like, wait,
<v Speaker 4>why would they question that? And then I had to
<v Speaker 4>Google it. Can you own an emu in Arizona?
<v Speaker 1>There's no way.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you can legally own an emu in Arizona.
<v Speaker 3>Arizona's like the Australia of America. Everything goes down there.
<v Speaker 3>It's so weird. I've spent many different times in Arizona,
<v Speaker 3>and every time I come back, I'm like, Who are
<v Speaker 3>those people?
<v Speaker 2>That's such a weird place.
<v Speaker 3>Literally everything goes. Even the mountains don't make sense. They
<v Speaker 3>just like pop up in random places around there. It's
<v Speaker 3>so funny.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So Emu in Arizona, for some reason.
<v Speaker 1>What is happening? That is so weird.
<v Speaker 3>Well, October is one of my favorite months of the year,
<v Speaker 3>and it's probably one of the best months all year round,
<v Speaker 3>I think. So for sports fans out there, the MLB
<v Speaker 3>World Series is going to be at the end of
<v Speaker 3>this month. We got MLB playoffs throughout the month. We
<v Speaker 3>also have the NFL going on. The NHL just started
<v Speaker 3>and the NBA season tips off. So you have all
<v Speaker 3>four major sports going on for whatever you like to watch.
<v Speaker 3>I love that as well. Obviously, we have Halloween on
<v Speaker 3>the 31st. We understand that.
<v Speaker 1>And it's on a Saturday. Which, thank God.
<v Speaker 2>It's on a Saturday.
<v Speaker 1>So awesome.
<v Speaker 3>I love when we have that holiday on a weekend
<v Speaker 3>because you can stay up late and watch all the
<v Speaker 3>scary movies you want. The other big ones are Columbus
<v Speaker 3>Day or Indigenous People's Day, both on the 12th for
<v Speaker 3>whatever you want to celebrate. Also, I wanted to point
<v Speaker 3>out there are lesser-known holidays this month, including National Boyfriend Day,
<v Speaker 3>which is October 3rd.
<v Speaker 1>Hello.
<v Speaker 3>Let's get the boyfriends some presents. Also, International Beer Day
<v Speaker 3>and Pizza Day, both on the 9th. Those absolutely coexist.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, that goes hand-in-hand. I love that.
<v Speaker 3>Right?
<v Speaker 1>Nina, No Bra Day is on the 13th. Hey!
<v Speaker 3>Didn't know that, and I'm coming for you on October 23rd.
<v Speaker 3>Slap Your Coworker Day is October 23rd.
<v Speaker 4>Wow!
<v Speaker 1>Didn't even know that was a holiday, but that is awesome. Actually,
<v Speaker 1>hold on.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, that goes both ways, so watch yourself.
<v Speaker 1>I know, and you got the nails, too. Let's just
<v Speaker 1>both go for Big Rob. Don't tell him. Don't tell him, though.
<v Speaker 1>That would be fun.
<v Speaker 3>National Cat Day is on October 29th, so a couple
<v Speaker 3>other things to look forward to as well.
<v Speaker 2>All right.
<v Speaker 4>Speaking of Halloween and October, let's talk about the top
<v Speaker 4>10 Halloween candies.
<v Speaker 2>You talked about how they are as expensive as ever. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>but we'll go down the list. Number 10, Twix. I
<v Speaker 2>like Twix.
<v Speaker 1>I love Twix.
<v Speaker 2>I do too.
<v Speaker 1>Left Twix or right Twix?
<v Speaker 2>Ooh, right Twix.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, I'm left.
<v Speaker 2>All right, there you go.
<v Speaker 1>We can share.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly.
<v Speaker 4>Number nine, Skittles. Number eight, we have the Haribo Gold Bears.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, I like those. I actually do like those.
<v Speaker 3>I love those.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not a fan of most gummy candies, but I
<v Speaker 2>do like those.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like solely gummy. I don't really like chocolate.
<v Speaker 2>I just hate it gets so stuck in your teeth.
<v Speaker 1>How funny is that?
<v Speaker 2>I hate that. All right. Number seven, Sour Patch Kids.
<v Speaker 2>Those are pretty good.
<v Speaker 1>Those are good, yeah. I like them. First, they're sour.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, then they're sweet. Number six, Kit Kats, then Snickers afterwards.
<v Speaker 4>M & M' s at number four. Number three, just regular
<v Speaker 4>old Hershey's milk chocolate. Number two, peanut M & Ms.
<v Speaker 4>Those beat out the regular M & Ms.
<v Speaker 1>Those are better. They're better. They are.
<v Speaker 4>It's just a little bit more to it. And then
<v Speaker 4>number one, year after year, Reese's peanut butter cups.
<v Speaker 2>That's obvious.
<v Speaker 1>They're the best.
<v Speaker 2>They are the best.
<v Speaker 3>I love a good Reese's peanut butter cup. And really
<v Speaker 3>all kinds, like the dark chocolate or the milk chocolate.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Love both of them.
<v Speaker 4>100%. And one thing that did come out of this study,
<v Speaker 4>I guess, which is a little shameful, I'm sorry to say,
<v Speaker 4>Colorado and Wyoming have candy corn on the list for
<v Speaker 4>most popular in our state.
<v Speaker 1>Why do you hate on candy corn?
<v Speaker 2>You're the problem, Josh.
<v Speaker 3>Okay.
<v Speaker 2>You are the problem.
<v Speaker 3>It's nasty.
<v Speaker 1>You don't even back your own claim up. You just
<v Speaker 1>call me the problem?
<v Speaker 2>You are the problem. No, it's gross. I'm bringing you
<v Speaker 2>some tomorrow. No, I'm not going to eat it.
<v Speaker 3>Why? Ew.
<v Speaker 1>It's so mean.
<v Speaker 2>You can bring it all you want. I'm not eating it.
<v Speaker 4>I'm good. And Jim Carrey, he's a married man again.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, I didn't even realize he was married twice
<v Speaker 4>in the past, but he was. And now he is
<v Speaker 4>on marriage number three. But rumor is that, yeah, he
<v Speaker 4>married girlfriend Mina in a small private ceremony. So these
<v Speaker 4>two have been together actually for a little while now,
<v Speaker 4>since 2022. So I feel like the timing is right.
<v Speaker 4>Things have progressed in their relationship, and now they'll live
<v Speaker 4>a happy life together as man and wife, which is
<v Speaker 4>exciting for Jim Carrey. It is.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, absolutely.
<v Speaker 3>Everybody likes to find someone they can spend the rest
<v Speaker 3>of their life with, and even if you have to
<v Speaker 3>do it three times.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly.
<v Speaker 1>Congrats to you.
<v Speaker 2>Exactly.
<v Speaker 3>Honestly, I can't even imagine being married to him because
<v Speaker 3>I just feel like it would be a constant laugh fest.
<v Speaker 1>It would.
<v Speaker 3>Like, I don't think he can turn himself off. You know,
<v Speaker 3>he's so used to being that, like, presence. So I
<v Speaker 3>feel like as his new wife, she would just be
<v Speaker 3>constantly laughing. How can you not fall in love with that, right?
<v Speaker 2>How could you not? Exactly.
<v Speaker 1>Well, good for the happy couple. That's cute.
<v Speaker 3>Nina, after fat bear week finally concluded, we have a
<v Speaker 3>new winner.
<v Speaker 1>Do we?
<v Speaker 2>Who is he?
<v Speaker 1>Heck yeah, we do.
<v Speaker 3>A bear named Backpack, which is how cute is that?
<v Speaker 3>He has been crowned the winner of this year's Fat
<v Speaker 3>Bear Week. Backpack defeated Bear 910. I love how one
<v Speaker 3>bear is like, I'm Backpack, I'm cute. The other one
<v Speaker 3>is Bear 910. So whatever that is, in the final
<v Speaker 3>round by roughly 5,000 votes.
<v Speaker 1>So kind of a landslide here.
<v Speaker 3>Out of the more than 2.3 million votes that came
<v Speaker 3>in over that week, This is funny. So they said
<v Speaker 3>that the voting site actually crashed the first day due
<v Speaker 3>to the overwhelming demand.
<v Speaker 1>Nina, I tried to vote that day when it opened.
<v Speaker 1>I couldn't get on the site. It was crashed. It
<v Speaker 1>was down. I thought I was blocked. That's good. I'm glad.
<v Speaker 3>He's been a fan favorite since appearing on the Parks
<v Speaker 3>Live cams in 2012. He is now 20 years old
<v Speaker 3>and estimated to be around 1,200 pounds.
<v Speaker 1>So he is a big chunker right there.
<v Speaker 2>Wow, that's a big boy.
<v Speaker 1>Nina, this guy also has winning in his blood. His mother, Holly...
<v Speaker 1>previously won the contest in 2019.
<v Speaker 2>She did.
<v Speaker 3>Absolutely legacy family, we got winning in our blood. Park
<v Speaker 3>ranger Sarah Bruce described Backpack as an unusually calm bear,
<v Speaker 3>which I love. He's more of a stoic presence on
<v Speaker 3>the river, she said, and he holds his own very quietly.
<v Speaker 1>So we love a nice, peaceful chonker, right?
<v Speaker 2>So shout out to Backpack.
<v Speaker 1>He does, absolutely.
<v Speaker 2>He eats a lot.
<v Speaker 1>1200 pounds, come on now.
<v Speaker 2>And the news is official.
<v Speaker 4>Paramount is going to be merging with Warner Brothers and
<v Speaker 4>staying in California. So this took a while to figure out.
<v Speaker 4>And Paramount was ready to walk out of the state completely.
<v Speaker 4>But this $ 11 billion settlement, it orders the company to
<v Speaker 4>release at least 30 films a year. So we're going
<v Speaker 4>to be getting a lot of new movies.
<v Speaker 3>Wow.
<v Speaker 4>And invest over a billion dollars in film production and
<v Speaker 4>training for its workers, which is great for the economy
<v Speaker 4>as well. So when this sale goes through, a lot.
<v Speaker 2>Is coming together.
<v Speaker 4>CNN, CBS News, HBO Max, Paramount +, Warner Brothers, and
<v Speaker 4>Paramount Pictures, all under the same umbrella.
<v Speaker 2>That's massive right there.
<v Speaker 3>That is, and look, California isn't California without Paramount being there,
<v Speaker 3>or Paramount being there. It's been there for so long.
<v Speaker 3>It needs to, it's paramount that it stays there. So
<v Speaker 3>I'm glad that it is staying there. But I understand
<v Speaker 3>why it took so long, because you just said that
<v Speaker 3>merged like half of every TV movie series conglomerate together
<v Speaker 3>right there.
<v Speaker 4>There's a lot of money behind this, a lot of
<v Speaker 4>big companies and big names and big industries and all
<v Speaker 4>of that coming together. So yeah, it took a while,
<v Speaker 4>and it was crazy that they were about to walk away,
<v Speaker 4>but they figured it out.
<v Speaker 2>Good.
<v Speaker 1>I'm glad. You know what? They talked and got through it.
<v Speaker 1>Good for them.
<v Speaker 4>Look at them. Three things you need to know before
<v Speaker 4>you go into the office today. Like six Denver Summit
<v Speaker 4>FC players... are going to travel across the world to
<v Speaker 4>represent their national teams during the upcoming October FIFA international break.
<v Speaker 4>So going into a break right now. But, yeah, they
<v Speaker 4>got two players representing Canada, one going to Japan, one
<v Speaker 4>going to Germany, and two for the U.S.
<v Speaker 2>Women's national team.
<v Speaker 4>And all of these players play for us out here
<v Speaker 4>for Denver Summit.
<v Speaker 3>That's one of the things you've got to love to see.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, those players are known internationally. I know Janine Sonis,
<v Speaker 3>she has played for Team Canada before in the Olympics.
<v Speaker 3>She's a Highlands Ranch girlie. She's from here.
<v Speaker 1>She went to my high school, my alma mater.
<v Speaker 3>I love seeing her succeed in everything that she's ever done,
<v Speaker 3>along with all the other women that are playing. for
<v Speaker 3>Denver Summit FC and now across the world, right?
<v Speaker 2>Exactly. Across the world.
<v Speaker 4>And that's such a variety of different countries that they're from,
<v Speaker 4>that they get to travel and go represent and play for.
<v Speaker 4>And then they get to come back home here and
<v Speaker 4>play for us right afterwards again.
<v Speaker 1>Putting Denver on the map, right?
<v Speaker 2>Let's do it.
<v Speaker 1>I love it.
<v Speaker 3>So congrats to all you guys out there. We're going
<v Speaker 3>to keep it with the sports as well. Avs laid
<v Speaker 3>a beating on the LA Kings last night to open
<v Speaker 3>the season.
<v Speaker 1>It was awesome.
<v Speaker 3>The game started at like midnight. So if you didn't
<v Speaker 3>get to see it, it was a late game, 8.30 PM.
<v Speaker 3>It's midnight for me and you essentially. So I did
<v Speaker 3>stay up. I'm very tired this morning. I stayed up
<v Speaker 3>and watched the whole thing. I can't, I told myself
<v Speaker 3>I wasn't going to do it, Nina, and I just can't.
<v Speaker 3>I have to watch the games. I'm so addicted to them.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, and then the first game too, like it's exciting.
<v Speaker 1>It is.
<v Speaker 3>And I don't know why the NHL hates me, but
<v Speaker 3>they always make it so late at night, but It's fine,
<v Speaker 3>Nathan McKinnon had two goals in typical Nathan McKinnon fashion,
<v Speaker 3>and an assist, and then also beat the crap out
<v Speaker 3>of an LA Kings player. Like, Nate's not necessarily a fighter.
<v Speaker 3>I know he's a very fiery player, Like he always
<v Speaker 3>looks like he hates his life. No, Nathan McKinnon is
<v Speaker 3>just very focused and a fiery player. But last night
<v Speaker 3>he did get into a fight after the LA Kings
<v Speaker 3>player kind of started to beat on a couple of
<v Speaker 3>the Avs players.
<v Speaker 1>Nate was like, absolutely not. No way.
<v Speaker 4>Not my teammates. And that fight was intense. And it
<v Speaker 4>kind of went on for a long.
<v Speaker 2>Time, I feel like.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, yeah. It was another right by Nate. Another right
<v Speaker 1>by Nate. Another right by Nate. And then he threw off.
<v Speaker 3>The guy's helmet, threw the player down, started wailing on
<v Speaker 3>him again until the refs got on him. And then
<v Speaker 3>Nate took off his own helmet and threw it against
<v Speaker 3>the boards. I'm like, bro, it's game one.
<v Speaker 2>We still need you. I know.
<v Speaker 1>I'm also like, please don't get injured. Please don't get injured.
<v Speaker 3>You love seeing him stand up for his teammates. Obviously,
<v Speaker 3>the NHL is huge on that. You love seeing that.
<v Speaker 3>But I'm also like, please don't.
<v Speaker 1>Break your hand.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Please be okay. No, seriously.
<v Speaker 3>He had the Gordie Howe hat trick last night. Goal
<v Speaker 3>assist in a fight. But shout out to the Avs
<v Speaker 3>starting off the season in typical Avs fashion.
<v Speaker 1>They're Stanley Cup favorites.
<v Speaker 3>Again this year. You know, knock on all the wood.
<v Speaker 3>I'm just saying they're Stanley Cup favorites. So let's keep
<v Speaker 3>this season going.
<v Speaker 1>I love it.
<v Speaker 2>Let's absolutely.
<v Speaker 4>And I just want to mention really quick because we
<v Speaker 4>do have Avs tickets we're giving away. That happens at
<v Speaker 4>about 820. So we're not very far off from that.
<v Speaker 2>Stick around.
<v Speaker 4>Mix 100. 820 is your chance to win four tickets.
<v Speaker 4>to Saturday's game to see your Colorado avalanche. All right,
<v Speaker 4>the last thing you need to know, Twitch is trending
<v Speaker 4>once again. It's becoming, just gaining in popularity, and it
<v Speaker 4>always has been pretty popular for live streaming and things
<v Speaker 4>like that, but Twitch is definitely the default, and it
<v Speaker 4>has started up a conversation about what Twitch is and
<v Speaker 4>why people watch so many live streams nowadays.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>And honestly, it kind of comes.
<v Speaker 4>Down to, like, this is the modern version of TV
<v Speaker 4>on in the background. You just throw up a Twitch
<v Speaker 4>stream of your favorite streamer. And it's also a hangout for.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of people.
<v Speaker 4>I talked about the other day, people are not socializing
<v Speaker 4>in real life, in person, as much anymore.
<v Speaker 2>And a lot of it is because of things like this.
<v Speaker 1>They just.
<v Speaker 2>Hang out on Twitch.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's like a Twitch chat room as well. Those
<v Speaker 1>type of things.
<v Speaker 3>You can come back and meet the same people that
<v Speaker 3>watch your favorite streamer as well. I mean, it's so funny.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, a couple years ago when, first of all,
<v Speaker 3>video games took off. And you're like, we play video games, right?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And then a couple years ago I saw people watching
<v Speaker 3>people play video games and I was like, that will
<v Speaker 3>never take off.
<v Speaker 1>Watching other people play video, why would you do that?
<v Speaker 3>And then I started watching them and I'm like, they're
<v Speaker 3>so good, it is kind of like watching an elite sport,
<v Speaker 3>you know?
<v Speaker 1>They're so good at this certain thing. It's an e-sport.
<v Speaker 3>And it's cool to watch how amazing they are at that.
<v Speaker 1>It's another thing.
<v Speaker 3>I've kind of fallen victim to watching people on Twitch
<v Speaker 3>as well, so I get why it's the number one platform, right?
<v Speaker 4>Same. And I also like to watch people when they're
<v Speaker 4>playing not seriously.
<v Speaker 2>They're playing to be funny, to do funny things.
<v Speaker 1>That's the best.
<v Speaker 2>Because sometimes it is just absolutely hilarious.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so I can see why it'd be number one.
<v Speaker 1>I fall victim to it. I like it.
<v Speaker 4>Right.
<v Speaker 2>Same, same.
<v Speaker 4>We have some news about Sia. She sold half of
<v Speaker 4>her music catalog for $ 180 million.
<v Speaker 2>She did? And out of that 180, she gets 165
<v Speaker 2>million for herself.
<v Speaker 1>Not bad. Yeah, that's a good payday.
<v Speaker 4>But the thing with this is her ex-husband is already like, hey,
<v Speaker 4>can I have.
<v Speaker 2>Some of that?
<v Speaker 4>So.
<v Speaker 1>Your ex for a reason, big guy.
<v Speaker 2>Well, here's the thing.
<v Speaker 4>These two have been really messy in the past, throwing
<v Speaker 4>each other under the bus to the judge when it
<v Speaker 4>comes to custody of their child together, and this divorce
<v Speaker 4>has been messy. And while they are technically divorced, and
<v Speaker 4>you would think he doesn't have any rights to this money,
<v Speaker 4>You know, they were married for a while, so his
<v Speaker 4>name is Dan. He has agreed to waive any rights
<v Speaker 4>to that money if Sia gives him $ 1 million, which
<v Speaker 4>is actually not bad out of $ 165 that she gets.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, she.
<v Speaker 3>Won't even notice that's gone, to be honest.
<v Speaker 2>Exactly, exactly. But, hold on, there's more to the story.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, no.
<v Speaker 4>Because all of that money she got for selling half
<v Speaker 4>her music catalog for the $ 180, 000, That was all stuff
<v Speaker 4>that she had done before getting married to him. So
<v Speaker 4>that's why he has less rights to that money. But
<v Speaker 4>there is another $ 15 million that Sia is getting for
<v Speaker 4>songs that she made after they got married. And that's
<v Speaker 4>going to be a different battle between them.
<v Speaker 1>Did he help write the songs?
<v Speaker 2>Doesn't matter.
<v Speaker 4>They were married between. It just depends on what the
<v Speaker 4>prenup said, et cetera, et cetera. Talk about messy.
<v Speaker 1>That is messy.
<v Speaker 2>It really is.
<v Speaker 4>So Sia for now, I mean, it's annoying because she's
<v Speaker 4>going to have to battle him for a different set
<v Speaker 4>of money anyway. But I kind of feel like just
<v Speaker 4>give him the Millie, you know?
<v Speaker 1>Oh, yeah. That's the easiest way out for sure.
<v Speaker 2>For sure.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. Well, hey. Pete Davidson, the ubiquitous Pete Davidson, Nina.
<v Speaker 3>He's been around everywhere, known for SNL and virtually dating
<v Speaker 3>every woman in Hollywood.
<v Speaker 1>He is back up.
<v Speaker 3>He's opening up about really hitting rock bottom in 2023.
<v Speaker 3>He had a bunch of relapses and drug problems, right?
<v Speaker 3>Do you remember him going.
<v Speaker 1>Through all that stuff?
<v Speaker 2>Oh, yeah, for sure.
<v Speaker 1>Well, yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So he said, essentially, he kind of started turning numb
<v Speaker 3>to drugs because of how much he was doing them.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not going to talk about the actual drugs he
<v Speaker 3>was doing, but he was doing.
<v Speaker 1>Illicit hard drugs.
<v Speaker 2>Like real bad stuff.
<v Speaker 1>These are bad ones.
<v Speaker 3>He said, I ended up starting to essentially feel high
<v Speaker 3>when I wasn't even doing them. So he's like, that
<v Speaker 3>was a massive problem.
<v Speaker 2>That's a big red flag.
<v Speaker 1>He had a.
<v Speaker 3>Literal wake-up call from his mom and then he checked
<v Speaker 3>himself into rehab and he said, for what it's worth now,
<v Speaker 3>I am almost completely sober. He goes, a few beers
<v Speaker 3>a year with friends. And I'm like, okay, that's fine, whatever.
<v Speaker 3>He goes, I don't mess with drugs anymore. It's been
<v Speaker 3>two or three years since I've done anything hard, like
<v Speaker 3>the massive amounts of drugs he was doing.
<v Speaker 1>And he goes, And now it's been over a year
<v Speaker 1>off of weed as well.
<v Speaker 3>He said, oddly enough, weed was the hardest one to
<v Speaker 3>quit because he's been doing that ever since he was
<v Speaker 3>a child.
<v Speaker 1>But he goes, now it's easy to say no to
<v Speaker 1>everything because he has a kid.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, good for him.
<v Speaker 3>He goes, having a child really kind of sobered him up, literally,
<v Speaker 3>from everything.
<v Speaker 4>It forced that responsibility to actually do it because it's
<v Speaker 4>not just you you have to worry about.
<v Speaker 1>No, that's the thing.
<v Speaker 3>And I've heard a lot of things about that from dads, especially,
<v Speaker 3>that have had addiction problems. They say, The first second
<v Speaker 3>I look at having a child, it changes everything. And
<v Speaker 3>I think that's a beautiful story. He loves his little
<v Speaker 3>kid now and he loves being a dad.
<v Speaker 2>Well, that's so great for Pete Davidson. I was one
<v Speaker 2>of those girls that had a crush on him for sure.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 3>Why?
<v Speaker 1>I don't understand.
<v Speaker 4>Something about him, he's goofy and he's funny and he's
<v Speaker 4>not afraid to just be dumb.
<v Speaker 2>There's something about that.
<v Speaker 3>He looks like a cartoon character, is that it? Love
<v Speaker 3>you Pete, you are funny.
<v Speaker 2>That and I heard some other rumors about Pete Davidson.
<v Speaker 4>But anyway.
<v Speaker 1>Next story, next story. We all heard those.
<v Speaker 4>Macklemore, he turned this whole thing around for himself. So
<v Speaker 4>his three date international free Palestine tour in Dublin, Paris,
<v Speaker 4>and London, sold out within hours of going on sale,
<v Speaker 4>day one. So he says he's completely blown away. The
<v Speaker 4>shows were put together quickly with the belief that musicians
<v Speaker 4>can stand in solidarity with Palestinians, raise money, and use
<v Speaker 4>their platforms for activism. So no doubt he's going to
<v Speaker 4>be adding more shows. I mean, he talked about doing
<v Speaker 4>some in the States, hasn't announced anything just yet. But
<v Speaker 4>the fact, and I know it's only three dates, but
<v Speaker 4>the fact that it did sell out day one is
<v Speaker 4>pretty impressive. So I wonder how big that this tour
<v Speaker 4>is going to end up being, which- It's real interesting
<v Speaker 4>for Ed Sheeran, on the other hand.
<v Speaker 1>I know.
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, it's so funny. He really did turn this
<v Speaker 3>whole thing around for himself, which is awesome. I think
<v Speaker 3>he also said that all the proceeds are going to
<v Speaker 3>something to.
<v Speaker 2>Help Palestinians, which is great.
<v Speaker 1>We love that. Some non-profits, for sure. But also, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, I like Ed, and I feel bad for him.
<v Speaker 1>I know. I'm like, this dude's falling apart over there.
<v Speaker 1>I know. He didn't ask for any of this.
<v Speaker 2>I'm so sorry.
<v Speaker 4>Poor Ed Sheeran.
<v Speaker 2>I still feel for him. I know.
<v Speaker 4>Good morning from Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh
<v Speaker 4>on Mix 100.
<v Speaker 2>How exciting, Josh. I blocked out the phone lines already.
<v Speaker 2>I had to.
<v Speaker 1>You had to.
<v Speaker 2>I had to block them right now.
<v Speaker 1>Blowing up.
<v Speaker 2>They were. So we want to give everyone a fair chance.
<v Speaker 4>Because we do have this family four-pack of tickets that
<v Speaker 4>include a meal and a drink for each person to
<v Speaker 4>Saturday's Avs game.
<v Speaker 1>Which is awesome.
<v Speaker 3>You're essentially going to this whole thing for free. You're
<v Speaker 3>going to get the food. You're going to get the drinks.
<v Speaker 3>You're going to watch the Avs beat down the St.
<v Speaker 1>Louis Blues. Sorry, Nina. I know you're from there.
<v Speaker 2>I only lived there for a little while.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, you've got to be an Avs fan
<v Speaker 1>at this point. Of course. You have to.
<v Speaker 3>Of course.
<v Speaker 4>Of course I am, especially after everything that happened at
<v Speaker 4>the game yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>I'm just fighting words. Yeah, right? Exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So here's how this is going to work.
<v Speaker 4>We are going to ask people to call at 303-691-1MIX,
<v Speaker 4>and we are going to ask you to give us
<v Speaker 4>your best Alan Roach impression.
<v Speaker 1>It's his goal call, right?
<v Speaker 3>Yes.
<v Speaker 1>Everybody knows that famous Alan Roach goal call.
<v Speaker 2>Exactly.
<v Speaker 1>We have someone better, right?
<v Speaker 2>Here, we'll play it for you right now.
<v Speaker 1>Here you go.
<v Speaker 3>Oh!
<v Speaker 1>Avalanche goals! I mean, it's iconic. Iconic. It's so good.
<v Speaker 1>Come on. I love it.
<v Speaker 4>We want you to give your best impression of just that.
<v Speaker 4>Avalanche goal. And you can't forget the goal at the end.
<v Speaker 2>That's important.
<v Speaker 3>That's so important. It's the goal call. But we need
<v Speaker 3>you to do it with Alan Rocha's voice. So stretch
<v Speaker 3>out those vocal cords. Drink some tea. Chug some tea
<v Speaker 3>really quick. Clear it out.
<v Speaker 1>And then we want to hear you pretty much shout
<v Speaker 1>into the phone.
<v Speaker 2>Pretty much.
<v Speaker 4>So go ahead, fill up those phone lines, 303-691-1649. That
<v Speaker 4>is the number for you to call. And if you
<v Speaker 4>get through, we're going to see your best impression. The
<v Speaker 4>first Family Pack game of the season. That is this
<v Speaker 4>one coming up this Saturday. Family Pack ticket packages are
<v Speaker 4>customizable to your family size. That includes a ticket, meal,
<v Speaker 4>and a drink. So this offer is available right now
<v Speaker 4>at Ticketmaster.com. Or if you want to win four of
<v Speaker 4>them right now, call 303-691-1649. Look at those phone lines
<v Speaker 4>fill up immediately.
<v Speaker 1>I love it.
<v Speaker 4>We have six contestants on the line. the line to
<v Speaker 4>give us their best Alan Roach impression. This is going
<v Speaker 4>to be tough.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, this is really exciting.
<v Speaker 3>I cannot wait to hear what they're all going to
<v Speaker 3>sound like because I feel like they're all going to
<v Speaker 3>be so different but also so enthusiastic.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm excited for it.
<v Speaker 3>Exactly.
<v Speaker 2>So contestant number one, Ashley, give us your best impression.
<v Speaker 4>Avalanche Gold. All right.
<v Speaker 1>All right.
<v Speaker 3>Starting off strong. I like the enthusiasm there.
<v Speaker 2>Yes.
<v Speaker 3>So we're going to put you on a quick hold.
<v Speaker 3>Next up, Cecilia from Denver.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, here it goes.
<v Speaker 2>Avalanche Gold. Ooh, that little ruffly in your throat.
<v Speaker 1>I like that. I felt the grovelly voice there. I
<v Speaker 1>like that one. All right, okay.
<v Speaker 2>Third on the line, Liz in Wheat Ridge. Go for it.
<v Speaker 1>Avalanche Gold.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, whoa.
<v Speaker 1>Liz, that's pretty good. I liked that one. That one
<v Speaker 1>might be my favorite. So far, we'll see. Courtney in Brighton,
<v Speaker 1>you're up next. All right. Colorado Avalanche, go! All right, okay.
<v Speaker 1>I like the enthusiasm. There we go. All right, Courtney.
<v Speaker 2>Tony and Parker, show us what you got.
<v Speaker 1>All right. I got to do it well because I
<v Speaker 1>met him once, so it's important. Pressure's on then.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, the rumbly grumbly down there.
<v Speaker 1>I like it. That was deep. Yeah, got to get
<v Speaker 1>that gravel in there. Pulled that out of your soul.
<v Speaker 1>For real. Oh, thank you.
<v Speaker 2>All right, Tony, we're going to put you on hold.
<v Speaker 2>We have one more contestant to get to. Just hang
<v Speaker 2>with us, okay? Will do. Kim is our final contestant.
<v Speaker 2>Show us what you got.
<v Speaker 3>Avalanche, go!
<v Speaker 1>Oh, that was good.
<v Speaker 2>That was a good one.
<v Speaker 1>I like it.
<v Speaker 2>All right, Kim. Thank you so much.
<v Speaker 4>We're going to put you on hold. We got some
<v Speaker 4>deciding to do, okay? Just hang with us, okay?
<v Speaker 3>Thanks.
<v Speaker 2>All righty. All right. We really do need to narrow
<v Speaker 2>it down, I think, Josh.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, those were all so good. I think I have
<v Speaker 1>a favorite. We've got to talk this out. Let's talk
<v Speaker 1>this out.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, we're going to be right back. We're going to
<v Speaker 2>talk this out.
<v Speaker 4>We're going to narrow it down, and we will get
<v Speaker 4>a winner for these avalanche tickets coming up on Mix 100.
<v Speaker 4>We are doing your best Alan Roach impression to try
<v Speaker 4>to win a four-pack of tickets to see your Colorado avalanche.
<v Speaker 2>This Saturday comes with food and drink and everything.
<v Speaker 1>Everything. It's awesome.
<v Speaker 3>It's going to be so much fun. And Nina, we
<v Speaker 3>narrowed it down. Finally, we got our final three contestants, right?
<v Speaker 2>We did.
<v Speaker 4>So Cecilia is one of the final three. How about
<v Speaker 4>we have her do it again?
<v Speaker 1>I think we should. Okay, okay.
<v Speaker 2>Cecilia, hi. I just want to say congratulations. You made
<v Speaker 2>it to the final three.
<v Speaker 3>Great.
<v Speaker 2>Yes.
<v Speaker 4>So we have to narrow it down, obviously, to one winner.
<v Speaker 2>So we want to hear from you again.
<v Speaker 1>Go ahead.
<v Speaker 2>Give us your best.
<v Speaker 4>Okay.
<v Speaker 1>Avalanche Gold!
<v Speaker 4>Ooh, I can tell you kicked it up a notch
<v Speaker 4>right there.
<v Speaker 1>You did. I could feel that one. I did.
<v Speaker 2>I really want these tickets.
<v Speaker 1>I know, I know.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, we're going to hear from our other two, and
<v Speaker 4>then we'll let you know who ends up winning, okay?
<v Speaker 3>Great, thank you.
<v Speaker 2>Liz, congratulations. You made it to the final three.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, my gosh.
<v Speaker 1>I can feel the tense right there. You're so tense.
<v Speaker 2>I'm a little tense. Saturday is my oldest son's birthday.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, okay.
<v Speaker 1>So you're fighting for somebody here.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. I'm fighting for my kid right now.
<v Speaker 1>I love it. Okay, Liz.
<v Speaker 2>Well, you made it to the final three. So far,
<v Speaker 2>so good.
<v Speaker 4>Let's see if you can do it again because we
<v Speaker 4>just need to hear from everyone one more time.
<v Speaker 2>Avalanche!
<v Speaker 3>Goal!
<v Speaker 1>That's so good.
<v Speaker 2>Honestly, that's so good.
<v Speaker 1>You're digging deep. I felt a little bit more from
<v Speaker 1>you this time. I loved it. That was good.
<v Speaker 2>All right, Tony, you are up. You made it to
<v Speaker 2>the final three. Let's hear your next impression. Go for it.
<v Speaker 4>Oh, goodness. All right, the pressure's on.
<v Speaker 1>Here we go. Oh, okay. I like that one. I
<v Speaker 1>think I got deeper that time.
<v Speaker 2>I think so. I didn't know it was possible, but
<v Speaker 2>you did.
<v Speaker 4>Josh.
<v Speaker 2>All three of these guys, they're great.
<v Speaker 1>So good.
<v Speaker 2>They really are. But honestly, I feel like we have
<v Speaker 2>a clear winner.
<v Speaker 1>I do too. And I think we came to the
<v Speaker 1>conclusion right away, both you and I.
<v Speaker 2>I think so.
<v Speaker 1>Do you want to let them know?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, let's do it. Hi, Liz. How are you?
<v Speaker 3>I'm good. I'm still here.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, good.
<v Speaker 1>I know.
<v Speaker 2>You're fighting for these tickets. Your throat may feel a
<v Speaker 2>little sore from, you know, yelling out all those.
<v Speaker 1>Everything. Yes.
<v Speaker 3>I know.
<v Speaker 1>Break out the tea and honey, right?
<v Speaker 4>Right.
<v Speaker 2>Well, Liz, tell your son happy birthday. You're going to
<v Speaker 2>the game!
<v Speaker 3>Woo-hoo!
<v Speaker 2>Woo-hoo!
<v Speaker 3>Yes! Liz, you completely blew us away with how good
<v Speaker 3>you were able to do an Alan Roach impression of
<v Speaker 3>all things.
<v Speaker 1>You had the gravelly voice. You really got down in there,
<v Speaker 1>and we were absolutely in love with the way you
<v Speaker 1>did it.
<v Speaker 2>Yes.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, my gosh.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you guys so much.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, you're welcome.
<v Speaker 4>And I think, honestly, what won it for you is
<v Speaker 4>you also had the timing down.
<v Speaker 1>You did. You kind of hold on to the A
<v Speaker 1>a little bit longer. You drew it out. It's like
<v Speaker 1>you've heard a couple goal calls. Yes.
<v Speaker 4>I may or may not watch every game with that kid.
<v Speaker 2>I love it.
<v Speaker 1>Amazing.
<v Speaker 4>Well, Liz, we are sending you and your family to
<v Speaker 4>the Avs game on Saturday. You get four tickets, and
<v Speaker 4>it is the Family Pack game, so it includes a
<v Speaker 4>meal and a drink for each person. Happy birthday to
<v Speaker 4>your son. It's going to be so much fun.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, happy birthday, Oliver.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you guys so much.
<v Speaker 1>You're so cute. Happy birthday, Oliver.
<v Speaker 2>Oliver, we love you guys.
<v Speaker 4>And tell me what station is sending you to see
<v Speaker 4>your Colorado avalanche.
<v Speaker 1>Mix 100.
<v Speaker 4>It's Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh on Mix 100.
<v Speaker 4>And Josh, you found this story of a woman locally
<v Speaker 4>in Colorado that's kind of going viral right now because
<v Speaker 4>a literal miracle happened on the road.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it was up in Loveland. So a Thompson Valley
<v Speaker 3>EMS crew got one of the more exciting calls from
<v Speaker 3>from a mother or a soon-to-be expecting mother the other day,
<v Speaker 3>and it's because she went into labor a little bit
<v Speaker 3>earlier than she expected, and so they went to go
<v Speaker 3>pick her up and take her to the hospital, right?
<v Speaker 3>Pretty routine for an EMS cure. I feel like they
<v Speaker 3>get that a lot. However, the thing that was not
<v Speaker 3>routine was that as they were transporting the mother to
<v Speaker 3>the hospital is when she went into labor much quicker
<v Speaker 3>than everybody thought they were going to. So for the
<v Speaker 3>safety of the mother and the baby, medics actually pulled
<v Speaker 3>over on I-25, of all things. No way! Yeah, right
<v Speaker 3>on I-25, just south of mile marker 263.
<v Speaker 1>And they delivered the baby.
<v Speaker 3>So the baby was born in the back of the
<v Speaker 3>ambulance at 7.54 AM. And the whole crew was ecstatic.
<v Speaker 3>They love these calls because they're like, we're excited to
<v Speaker 3>kind of bring a new baby into the world with you.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, EMS crews have to deal with a lot.
<v Speaker 3>We understand that. And some of that stuff that they
<v Speaker 3>deal with is not as positive as bringing a baby
<v Speaker 3>into the new world. So Thompson Valley EMS said that
<v Speaker 3>They transported the baby and the mother after they delivered
<v Speaker 3>the baby. And they said both the mother and the
<v Speaker 3>baby are completely healthy following the literal delivery to the
<v Speaker 3>hospital of the baby.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, my gosh. That's insane. So the fact that the baby,
<v Speaker 2>it was coming regardless. The baby's like, I'm ready. I
<v Speaker 2>am here. Let me out right now.
<v Speaker 3>Well, and I think so for me as someone and you,
<v Speaker 3>we've never had kids. And so I'm always like, that's
<v Speaker 3>my biggest fear is like not getting to the hospital
<v Speaker 3>on time.
<v Speaker 1>Because I'm a guy.
<v Speaker 2>I have.
<v Speaker 3>no flippin' clue how that works. I mean, I understand
<v Speaker 3>your water breaks, and then you.
<v Speaker 2>Have- You went to health class that one time, but
<v Speaker 2>you know.
<v Speaker 3>But I'm also, I'm like, I don't know anything about
<v Speaker 3>growing a child inside of you, so. It's just one
<v Speaker 3>of those things that for me, whenever I do become
<v Speaker 3>a dad, I'm like, okay, I got to make sure
<v Speaker 3>everything's packed.
<v Speaker 1>Everything's ready. We're ready to go.
<v Speaker 2>You got to be prepared.
<v Speaker 1>At a moment's notice.
<v Speaker 4>But that's the funny thing about labor sometimes is no
<v Speaker 4>matter how prepared you may be, it can just happen
<v Speaker 4>in any way that it wants to happen.
<v Speaker 1>Out of nowhere. And it's so funny.
<v Speaker 3>My mom, you know, we have five kids in the
<v Speaker 3>family and the first four are were all born, I
<v Speaker 3>don't wanna say normally, but kind of normally. And then
<v Speaker 3>the last one she had was a surprise, and he
<v Speaker 3>came early, and everything was a mess, and it's just like,
<v Speaker 3>so it's so funny how even as an experienced birth giver,
<v Speaker 3>as my mom, she has the last one, and everything
<v Speaker 3>goes haywire there, and it's just, it's so, you can
<v Speaker 3>never be prepared enough for this.
<v Speaker 1>And I think it's awesome.
<v Speaker 3>I was thinking about, okay, baby born on the side
<v Speaker 3>of the road, what are you going to call it?
<v Speaker 2>Tire or.
<v Speaker 1>Ambulance? What do you name this thing? You can't just
<v Speaker 1>name it like Josh.
<v Speaker 2>Right, right. I mean, that name is so boring.
<v Speaker 1>Stab me.
<v Speaker 2>Sorry. If you delivered a baby on the side of
<v Speaker 2>the road, yeah. I mean, you kind of have to
<v Speaker 2>come up with one of those types of names.
<v Speaker 1>Grass?
<v Speaker 2>No. There's some decent names out there like Lane.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, I like that one.
<v Speaker 2>It was mile marker which?
<v Speaker 3>263.
<v Speaker 4>263. I mean, you're not going to call your baby
<v Speaker 4>mile marker 263, but you could call him Miles.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 2>Miles, that's a good name.
<v Speaker 1>We could call him Miles Mark. There you go. Miles Mark,
<v Speaker 1>there we go.
<v Speaker 2>First and middle name.
<v Speaker 1>I like that.
<v Speaker 2>There's also rider, journey if it's a girl.
<v Speaker 1>That's beautiful. It was a journey, haven't you? That was great.
<v Speaker 2>There you go, yes. The journey on the way to
<v Speaker 2>the hospital didn't quite go as planned, but.
<v Speaker 1>We love you. It's way better than mine.
<v Speaker 2>You're like, tire, grass?
<v Speaker 1>What, Josh? Oh, my gosh. You know what? You just
<v Speaker 1>stick with your name.
<v Speaker 2>Ambulance?
<v Speaker 4>No, you stick with your name, Josh, and you just
<v Speaker 4>sit over there looking pretty.
<v Speaker 1>All right, sounds good.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you, thank you.
