[00:00:00] cybershortieee: Finger

[00:00:01] hd: itch That mean you finna get some money

[00:00:02] cybershortieee: Come on and bring it to Big Mama.

[00:00:05] hd: Big Mama. I probably should've started with that

[00:00:13] Them kids asking her about why, uh, why she call herself Big Mama is hilarious to me

[00:00:29] intro: You're now watching the Tesla Talk hosted by AC

[00:00:37] hd: and Cybershortieee. Hit the like button. All right, welcome back. Welcome back, guys. We are back. Um, if you are here, maybe that'll be on Patreon. I don't know. We'll see. Uh, I think we had a little fun with that, but, uh, we got a lot of fun headed you guys' way. Um, let's go ahead and talk about the quick topics, and then we'll just talk about what we've been up to.

[00:00:58] Where are we at? [00:01:00] Talking points. Let's turn these bad boys on. All right. Oops. It would help if I put them on the screen

[00:01:10] So some of the bigger topics we got is the interview process changing, Pentagon getting hacked, Meta Muse is going rogue. Muse, I said muse. Student loans, cybersecurity awareness. But I'm your host today, HD.

[00:01:26] cybershortieee: And you got your girl Cyber Shorty in the house.

[00:01:28] hd: And just do us a favor, if you still on here after 30 seconds, just hit the like button, like my daughter said, and, uh, subscribe to us.

[00:01:35] But it's been what, two weeks since we recorded?

[00:01:38] cybershortieee: Yes.

[00:01:39] hd: Yeah. You- what you

[00:01:40] cybershortieee: been- Two mighty long weeks. I've been doing the most, as always.

[00:01:42] hd: Nah, but, um, if y'all don't know... Let me put the camera on her. Wait another second. Shorty went back home-

[00:01:50] cybershortieee: I did ...

[00:01:51] hd: to Flint.

[00:01:52] cybershortieee: Man, relax.

[00:01:54] hd: But, um, no, uh, Kalamazoo.

[00:01:57] cybershortieee: Yes.

[00:01:58] hd: And she did her hospital [00:02:00] takeover book signing.

[00:02:00] So you wanna tell us about it?

[00:02:01] cybershortieee: Yes. It was a really great turnout. I was so excited to be home and be able to share that moment with my family and my friends. Sold a bunch of merch, a bunch of books, a bunch of body oils, signed a bunch of books, took a million... I was so over smiling. You know how you be done smiling, like you like, that's not even a good smile.

[00:02:22] My smile look decent in the pictures, but it was a really good time. I'm really happy that I was able to take the moment home and, like I said, spend it with my family and friends. Um, 'cause I obviously did the book signing first in Dallas 'cause I'm here. And so, again, just taking things back home. Two out of 10, would recommend.

[00:02:39] If you're doing something like that, you're venturing off and you're away from home, do it where you're at, and don't forget to go back home so they can love on you.

[00:02:50] hd: Nah, thank you for that. But with that being said, when part two coming out?

[00:02:56] cybershortieee: Ah, I'm trying to get it out before- this year. I'm trying to be do- I... No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. Let's just... Baby steps. Let me, let me... I'm trying to be done. Do [00:03:00] you

[00:03:02] hd: have a chapter or two even?

[00:03:04] cybershortieee: I have more than a cha- I have more than a chapter or two.

[00:03:06] I have, like, six chapters.

[00:03:07] hd: Okay. And is it gonna be longer?

[00:03:09] cybershortieee: Yes, it's gonna be longer. Um, I'm trying to be done, honestly, with the book this year. There's no reason why I can't be done with the book this year I think it was just somebody t- talking. Yeah.

[00:03:21] hd: Okay. I was just making sure audio wasn't playing from somewhere.

[00:03:23] Okay. Okay, cool, cool, cool. 'Cause the fans wanna know, you know?

[00:03:27] cybershortieee: Yeah.

[00:03:27] hd: We, we finished and we waiting.

[00:03:29] cybershortieee: Yeah.

[00:03:30] hd: It's... Well, no way. I was gonna say could you be JK Rowling, but, I mean, technically you already signed for Shorty, so.

[00:03:35] cybershortieee: Yeah. You know, my own lane, do my own

[00:03:38] hd: thing. I'm pretty sure you got another pen name knowing you.

[00:03:39] cybershortieee: I do. I'll tell you by later.

[00:03:42] hd: If y'all want the pen name, y'all gotta go to the Patreon.

[00:03:44] cybershortieee: Yeah. It's how you on there.

[00:03:46] hd: Um, as for me, just working. Uh, my back and stuff's still hurting from moving. Feet hurting, I need to go get a pedicure besides.

[00:03:55] cybershortieee: Do, do, do you feel like you old?

[00:03:57] hd: No.

[00:03:57] cybershortieee: No.

[00:03:58] hd: I don't

[00:03:58] cybershortieee: feel old. You just, you just like it was just a lot.[00:04:00]

[00:04:00] hd: I feel like I-

[00:04:01] cybershortieee: I feel like I'm getting old and everything is a lot.

[00:04:04] hd: Okay, Wale. But nah, I think it was just my fault for really not doing my due diligence like I wanted to. It really was the kitchen. The kitchen in, in my room I took for granted, and so that's why I had so many trips. You, you

[00:04:18] cybershortieee: underestimated.

[00:04:19] hd: I didn't underestimate it. I just didn't pack it up. What

[00:04:21] cybershortieee: would, what would you call it?

[00:04:22] hd: I didn't pack it up, 'cause, like, the... where we was moving to was so close to the old

[00:04:26] cybershortieee: spot. You thought you was just gonna be able to real quick?

[00:04:27] hd: I knew I could make it back and forth, but then eventually I was like, "I'm tired of doing this."

[00:04:30] Yeah. So it, it was my fault. Never again. 'Cause my movers were great, it was just the fact that I should've just had everything packed up and I'd have been done faster. But, um, no, overall in that, the, like, the people saw the episode that came out, yeah, last week. Last week I was talking about a childhood friend that had passed.

[00:04:48] And ironically, as I was looking at my Facebook memories, I was seeing memories that I had with him- This, what was it? This week. Mm-hmm. From like our yearbook. Like I was, like [00:05:00] 11 years ago I shared like all our middle school yearbook pictures when people was like looking real ugly- Looking real crazy ... and down bad in there.

[00:05:07] And um, and then I had shared a couple pictures that he was in and I had thought about it. I was like, "Dang, that's crazy. It don't feel real." But um, today is not gonna be a sad day. We're gonna have fun. I think the easiest thing to start off with is Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

[00:05:24] cybershortieee: Yes, yes, yes.

[00:05:26] hd: All

[00:05:28] cybershortieee: right. Go ahead.

[00:05:28] All right, so it is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which is basically our Super Bowl. It is year 23. So the National Cybersecurity Alliance theme is Don't Make It Easy For Them, and honestly, let's break that down a little bit more. Um, so it's co-led by the National Cybersecurity Alliance, which is a nonprofit, and CISA.

[00:05:49] CISA's own 2026 theme is Securing the Next 250. Um, anyone can sign up free as an NCA champion and get [00:06:00] a toolkit. Um, you're also able to provide industry commentary, um, regarding the theme. So we kind of understand a little bit more about attackers rarely... They don't need to be clever these days. All they need to do is be a little bit...

[00:06:14] They need us to be more predictable than what we already are. Um, so if you kind of think about Cybersecurity Awareness Month, um, this is a good time to spread any commonly known best practices to your family and friends, to your elders, to your cousins that are in college, to your cousins in high school who are online, to parents.

[00:06:39] Um, so this is a time that we should be sharing a ton of knowledge and information to help everyone stay a lot safer online

[00:06:47] hd: Yeah, then, um, I'll just say as for me, piggybacking off what she said, we are so much more connected on the internet and everything else as we were years ago. You got smart washing [00:07:00] machines, smart refrigerators, all these things, and a lot of times they get hacked by a third party.

[00:07:04] So you wanna make sure that you're using good services to monitor your data, whether you're using Aura, you can use tools like Dashlane. They have dark web monitoring. And the simple thing you can do is you can go to Have I Been Pwned, throw your emails in there and see if your email address, uh, password has been leaked.

[00:07:21] If so, please change that. And also make a passkey, do MFA. You need the multiple ways to get into your machine.

[00:07:31] cybershortieee: Don't use the same password, pretty, pretty please with sugar on top. Okay. And an extra cherry.

[00:07:37] hd: Yeah. Then I will also say that, uh, to make sure you're not just clicking on links, because no matter what, if you have MFA and everything enrolled on your profiles and everything else, if you click on a link and they steal your sessions, they're gonna be in.

[00:07:51] And 9 times out of 10, most of you guys are doing this from your personal. It's not like you're doing it from a work machine. So when you're trying to reach out to Facebook or [00:08:00] X or TikTok, it's gonna take a long time for them to get back to you. Mm-hmm. So you'll be waiting. You'll be on Facebook saying, "Hey, anybody work so-and-so?

[00:08:06] I need help." Because they got in your session, it's gonna take a minute. They don't prioritize your sessions versus the actual internal employees' sessions. So just remember that. We'll try to give more tips. Well, actually, Shorty has been doing spooky cyber tips.

[00:08:23] cybershortieee: Yes. Yes. Day two.

[00:08:24] hd: Yeah. And if you suggest a good spooky cyber tip to her, she'll probably give you some candy corn.

[00:08:30] Are you a candy corn eater?

[00:08:31] cybershortieee: I will not go buy any, but if someone has some, I can pick up, uh, three or four pieces.

[00:08:36] hd: There'll be no ca-

[00:08:37] cybershortieee: I'm not a hater, though ...

[00:08:38] hd: there'll be no candy corn slander on my watch.

[00:08:40] cybershortieee: I'm not gonna go buy it, but I will eat some.

[00:08:43] hd: I like those and like, I like the pum-

[00:08:44] cybershortieee: You like the big ones?

[00:08:45] I like the big ones. I

[00:08:46] hd: like the candy corn and the buttercream, uh, buttercream, like the pumpkins.

[00:08:50] cybershortieee: Yeah, I know what you're talking about. Yeah.

[00:08:50] hd: Yeah. I like them. Them things be good.

[00:08:52] cybershortieee: Them do be good.

[00:08:53] hd: But too much of them, you be like, "Ah, man."

[00:08:55] cybershortieee: Yeah.

[00:08:56] hd: But I think outside of that- Do

[00:08:58] cybershortieee: you eat your kids' Halloween [00:09:00] candy?

[00:09:01] hd: So, uh-

[00:09:02] cybershortieee: Tell the truth right now ...

[00:09:03] hd: I'll say no, 'cause they haven't, they haven't really did that yet. Mm-hmm. So this might be the first year where they'd actually do that. So I don't have a good answer for you.

[00:09:12] cybershortieee: Yet.

[00:09:13] hd: 9 times out of 10 it'll probably be a no, but like Mom really don't play nothing about they teeth, so they- Period

[00:09:18] even if they get candy-

[00:09:20] cybershortieee: They ain't gonna be

[00:09:20] hd: eating none ... they might not eat many. Yeah. She might say, "Y'all got five pieces to eat." Mm-hmm. And she also like, "I ain't trying to eat everything from everybody house." Yeah. So she also like that, too, so we'll, we'll definitely see. Um- What's your first hot topic that you had up here?

[00:09:34] cybershortieee: Um, I have the federal files. So both the FBI and the Pentagon got some things going on.

[00:09:41] hd: Okay. Give me a second. I'm gonna add that to the lower third, and then I'll tell you action. Action.

[00:09:46] cybershortieee: All right, so two federal personal breaches in one week. Let's talk about it. So first, the FBI, a group called ShinyHunters, which we've talked about time and time again, claim they hacked the HR system behind [00:10:00] fbijobs.gov.

[00:10:01] Now, that is the bureau's job portal since 2017. TechCrunch reports they got in through a vulnerability in Oracle PeopleSoft. Um, PeopleSoft is an HR software that, um, organizations run on. Now, the FBI hasn't publicly confirmed a breach, but MS now reports an internal notice told staff their names, addresses, job titles, and Social Security numbers were exposed.

[00:10:28] And the twist in this scenario is that the attackers, um, say that they don't want any money. They want the FBI to correct a report about them. That part. Next, we have the Pentagon. So the Defense Manpower Data Center, the military's records and identity office, says attackers were inside a file-sharing system for about nine months.

[00:10:52] Ooh, that's a long time. Social Security numbers, birth dates, service history, about 2.8 million living people and roughly [00:11:00] 300,000 who have died, and the r- and the notice also says that the records were not, and I repeat, not encrypted. That part. Um, so if you're not sure, encryption at rest is going to scramble that data while it's stored.

[00:11:16] So if it is stolen, it's basically gonna be a, a bunch of gibberish if you don't have the key to basically unlock it. Um, so I think that this is just yet another example to show you that we don't have it all figured out and that it can happen to anyone, including our most protected, allegedly, um, areas within the government.

[00:11:41] The FBI and the Pentagon, that's pretty big

[00:11:45] hd: I agree, I agree. Why is there so much on my side? Hang on. This is killing me. Give me a second. But yeah, I mean, like most people know, a lot of that government stuff is outdated.

[00:11:57] cybershortieee: For sure.

[00:11:57] hd: They are not attracting the top talent to [00:12:00] work there because they don't pay like the top talent wants to be paid.

[00:12:03] cybershortieee: Mm-hmm.

[00:12:04] hd: In order to get the top talent, they are going to have to have better offerings. Like, "Hey, if you come work for us, salary might not be the best, but we'll pay for your-

[00:12:16] cybershortieee: Student loans ...

[00:12:17] hd: we'll pay for your student loans." Yeah. "We'll pay for you to stay wherever you want."

[00:12:21] cybershortieee: Mm-hmm.

[00:12:21] hd: They gonna have to do stuff like that.

[00:12:23] I think that's the only way that they're gonna be able to do that. But also stuff takes so long to change.

[00:12:28] cybershortieee: It do.

[00:12:29] hd: And- Especially

[00:12:29] cybershortieee: in the gov-

[00:12:30] hd: I'm pretty sure... And then the bad part is they're gonna make this about the FBI's, you know, cybersecurity being weak or whatever. But nine times out of ten, them people already said, "Hey, fix this."

[00:12:40] And they said, "Oh, we can't, it's gonna impact X, Y, Z, and it's gonna be a, you know, two years for us to actually get all this work done."

[00:12:46] cybershortieee: Yeah.

[00:12:47] hd: I'm pretty sure it's like that. And so in these situations, these people get a bad rap, but I'm like, no, they've been told too.

[00:12:52] cybershortieee: I would say I wouldn't even blame the people.

[00:12:55] I would blame, just like you said, it's just, it's just... It's a, [00:13:00] it's a industry that is a little bit behind. Yeah.

[00:13:03] hd: Yeah, for sure. Um, yeah, I guess you got a point.

[00:13:09] cybershortieee: Like they are. It... They're very slow- But I don't think- ... to accept all these new things that are going on. They, they have to be vetted and blah, blah, blah.

[00:13:16] hd: I think, yeah, I think that's the thing. There's too many change processes. I also read something where it said, like, they're about to consolidate all the freaking... I don't know if it had to do with the websites, whatever, but, like, all these different government agencies that you finna be able to go to one site and be able to- Let's

[00:13:28] cybershortieee: do it

[00:13:29] hd: because it's, it's too dispersed. And, and I know- I don't know how often these people talk to each other, but you got like Department of Energy, you got FBI, you got Department of Defense. Like it's- CIA ... so many different things. Yeah. Speaking of, you didn't even watch Line of season three, did you?

[00:13:44] cybershortieee: No, I didn't even watch season one.

[00:13:48] Should do that song. I haven't What do you mean by that? Yeah.

[00:13:57] hd: Are you sug- hey, chat- I

[00:13:58] cybershortieee: heard it was good, [00:14:00] though ...

[00:14:00] hd: chat, can y'all believe she ain't watched Linus?

[00:14:01] cybershortieee: I heard it was... That's with, um, um, um, um, um, Zoe.

[00:14:05] hd: Zo- Saldana ... Saldana.

[00:14:05] cybershortieee: Yeah.

[00:14:06] hd: Yeah, you know they always got a, uh, with a white zaddy.

[00:14:09] cybershortieee: I'm screaming.

[00:14:10] hd: But nah, like, if you watch that show, it make you feel like how does something like this happen?

[00:14:15] But I mean, it's all dramati- uh, dramatized. But I don't know, man, I just think that this is gonna keep on happening.

[00:14:25] tiktok: For

[00:14:26] hd: sure. And my fears are, I had j- literally just did the podcast with Monte, and one of my fears was the, the fact I was like... He said, "What should we be looking into?" And I was like, "Utilities, critical infrastructure."

[00:14:37] Those are the things that are keeping on getting attacked, and they are very susceptible to getting attacked because they are not up to par, and I'm more concerned with that, 'cause they have... I seen it on Twitter, I don't know how real it is, I think CNN posted too, but the Northeast may hit a, get a blackout where affect, affects five million people-

[00:14:54] cybershortieee: Mm-hmm

[00:14:54] hd: and businesses.

[00:14:55] cybershortieee: For, for an undisclo- Gary Indiana was just out of power [00:15:00] for a week.

[00:15:01] hd: You know what's funny? They was not talking about it.

[00:15:03] cybershortieee: They wasn't. I found out about it on, from TikTok.

[00:15:05] hd: Yeah. So I don't know. Um, stuff like that is definitely, uh, very interesting. I

[00:15:11] cybershortieee: think, I think for me it, it's, uh, unsettling because there are so many federal pieces of data or information that can be exposed about somebody, like psychiatric records, and evaluations, and mental health, and medications, and, like, just things you just generally don't want someone else- And-

[00:15:32] to be able to get ahold of- Right ... about you.

[00:15:34] hd: Right. In most of these instances, these people really low-key just want to get paid. Mm. Like, that's... They don't really care too much about releasing it. They're just trying to bluff, and they'll probably release it, but they really just wanna be paid.

[00:15:46] cybershortieee: Well, in the FBI's case, they said they don't want no money.

[00:15:49] They need them to fix that report that they wrote about them.

[00:15:52] hd: What report?

[00:15:53] cybershortieee: I don't know. That's the tea. Mm. That's the tea.

[00:15:57] hd: Interesting. Interesting. Um, [00:16:00] let me see something real quick. Where are we at? Hmm. I wanna do the Frontline Education breach. All right, so Frontline Education breach. It's not just the feds.

[00:16:16] Smaller in scale, but great for relatability since, um, when I hit... This is, oh my God, that's too much stuff.

[00:16:25] cybershortieee: I just had to do that.

[00:16:26] hd: Okay. Let me take this out. Frontline Education breach. Frontline Education, an ed tech company providing admin and workforce management software to school districts, is notifying districts of a breach after attackers exploited a vulnerability in the third-party software to steal employee information, including Social Security numbers.

[00:16:46] The company's security team identified the vulnerability on August 14, 2026, and in one district alone, 1,200 employees were impacted.

[00:16:55] intro: Mm.

[00:16:56] hd: With Social Security numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses exposed. [00:17:00] There's also a slightly awkward corporate detail worth a laugh line. Frontline will handle notifications on behalf of districts unless a district opts out by October 16th, and if the district opts out, Frontline won't reimburse them for the cost of sending their own notices.

[00:17:16] What?

[00:17:17] cybershortieee: Wait, say that again.

[00:17:18] hd: So Frontline will handle notifica- notifying people, uh, where the districts have been affected, unless the district opts out, and if the district opts out, Frontline won't reimburse them for the cost of sending their own notices. That's a very read the fine print moment for the HR admin people.

[00:17:38] Three separate breaches, three totally different sectors, law enforcement, military, and K through 12 schools. Same root cause every time, a vulnerability in third-party or legacy software, and nobody patched fast enough. So.

[00:17:50] cybershortieee: I mean, that's how it is in vulnerability management. Nobody is in a rush to patch stuff.

[00:17:54] hd: So you know, over this past weekend, the biggest thing that people were busy with was this, uh, Citrix [00:18:00] NetScaler stuff.

[00:18:01] cybershortieee: Mm.

[00:18:02] hd: Um, let me see. It's patched now.

[00:18:07] cybershortieee: Patched now?

[00:18:08] hd: Yeah. Um-

[00:18:16] So this is back on September 30th, but there was a mass exploitation of Citrix NetScaler. Actually, I can do the old-fashioned way. Give me a second. All right, so this is old, this has been patched, but it's just something good to read about. But government authorities and security teams were racing to assess the fallout from a campaign aimed at a critical flaw in Citrix NetScaler.

[00:18:37] Government agencies and critical infrastructure providers were targeted in a wave of attacks dating back more than a month in what may be targeted espionage.

[00:18:45] intro: Hmm.

[00:18:46] hd: Security teams were first alerted over the weekend in a series of direct warnings from government security agencies, IT security vendors and others urging them to immediately disable their systems.

[00:18:55] In the days since, researchers say the impact has been felt in dozens of organizations [00:19:00] across multiple industries. Citrix on Sunday disclosed a total of eight vulnerabilities in NetScaler ADC and NetScaler Gateway. Two of those vulnerabilities tracked as CVE 2026-88-771 and, uh, 88-772. They were confirmed to be under exploitation.

[00:19:19] Both vulnerabilities have a severity score of 9.5

[00:19:23] tiktok: out of 10.

[00:19:25] hd: So for, uh, CVE-2026-88771, it's a remote execution vulnerability linked to improper input validation according to Citrix. Successful exploitation enables an attacker to execute arbitrary commands on a system without the need to authenticate identity.

[00:19:43] The flaw affects all versions of NetScaler ADC and NetScaler Gateway, even when in default setting. And for 2026-88772, it's a memory overflow vulnerability, which can lead to remote code execution or, uh, denial of service according to [00:20:00] Citrix. However, successful exploitation requires a communications protocol called Datagram Transport Layer Security, so DTLS, to be enabled on NetScaler.

[00:20:10] So pretty much if you disable that, it sh- you should be good to go. On VPN virtual servers, DTLS is enabled by default. Hmm. Good learning. Citrix warned that the vulnerabilities could lead to a variety of impacts, including remote code execution, denial of service, HTTP request smuggling, policy bypass, and TCP initial sequence number prediction.

[00:20:34] The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency issued its own advisory on Sunday and added the two critical flaws to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog

[00:20:48] cybershortieee: That's insane

[00:20:50] hd: And let's see. Okay, it's almost done. The National Cybersecurity Center in the Netherlands alerted critical infrastructure providers and other organizations to take immediate mitigation measures on Friday, [00:21:00] including disabling systems that were not secure, according to a spokesperson. Z-CERT, the national agency for the healthcare sector, advised hospitals to either increase monitoring or temporarily disable vulnerable systems as precautionary step.

[00:21:13] Some Dutch hospitals, including Christmas MC and Amphia, suspended online access to patient portals after taking SigCert and Xscalers based systems offline. Man

[00:21:25] That's crazy. That is crazy. It's a, it's a lot more as I read on here. Um, this is on cybersecurity dive. I actually have them. They, I'm subscribed to them, so they send me stuff. But there's always something going on. There's always something going on. Is that me? That's me. Oh.

[00:21:43] cybershortieee: I be always asking 'cause I use my stuff silent.

[00:21:47] hd: Yeah. But, uh, but no, I, I thought that was pretty cool

[00:21:54] Let me see. What did-

[00:21:56] cybershortieee: AI agents, Australia and Meta Muse

[00:21:59] hd: Okay

[00:21:59] cybershortieee: Or, [00:22:00] well, you want to do Meta Muse- Yeah ... 'cause you probably have a better thing,

[00:22:03] hd: but I- No, it don't matter. Uh, you can do it. Uh, I just wanted to talk about it because I think what, what we'll do for Meta Muse is, um, 'cause funny, I don't know if you father, uh, follow Jared Albright, Doc- Dr.

[00:22:15] J. Yeah. So he was the one that was on my, "Hey, I made my AI agent on Muse," and that made me think about Muse was doing something with privacy because it's Meta. Like, it's just a thing, like, you could be gung ho to do it, but it's like, hold on. Wait. Who made this agent?

[00:22:28] cybershortieee: Mm-hmm.

[00:22:28] hd: And you gotta think about it like that.

[00:22:29] So, um, you said Australia AI?

[00:22:33] cybershortieee: And Meta Muse. They're kind of, like, in conjunction

[00:22:43] All right, go forward All right. So OpenAI apologizes after AI agents accessed Australian government systems and Meta disputes Muse privacy claim. Exhibit A, in June during internal testing, an [00:23:00] experimental OpenAI model got a research task. Find out how much Victoria, Australia spends on skin condition medicine.

[00:23:10] It couldn't find the data publicly, so by OpenAI's own account, it got into an internal government system, ran commands and grabbed files and credentials. At another agency, it used an exposed access key. Australia wasn't told until September. OpenAI apologized and Australia is investigating. So again, we have a chat by answers, an AI agent that's taking action.

[00:23:35] It browses, it runs code, it logs into things to hit its defined goal. And to an agent, a locked door isn't a no, it's basically like a puzzle. Um, and so it's not, um, one company. TechCrunch reports Anthropic, Meta and Google have all disclosed similar incidents during testing. Exhibit B, Inc. columnist [00:24:00] Jason Aten says Meta's new Muse agent synced his private messages on his Mac without permission.

[00:24:07] Ugh. Meta says that's impossible without two opt-ins and that Muse's own explanation of what happened was just wrong. It's he said, they said. But the lesson in all of this is an AI explaining itself is a statement, not a log file. So who made it easy? There was a key left out and permissions were clicked that we are able to click through.

[00:24:32] Agents don't need to break in if we hand them the keys. Um, so the OpenAI incident in June, Australia was notified in September 10th. OpenAI says it found no evidence that individuals' medical or criminal records were accessed. It obviously is offering technical findings credits and independent, um, an independent investigation task force.

[00:24:53] Um, and then for Muse, Meta's Andy Stone and David Singleton say [00:25:00] the messages integration requires both full disk as- access and a messages connector Aton says full disk access was off, so it looks like that one potentially could be unresolved. I still think it's kind of interesting though because that is scary.

[00:25:18] Off his Mac?

[00:25:19] hd: Yeah, and we know Macs ask you to hit okay and unlock everything. A million

[00:25:23] cybershortieee: times.

[00:25:24] hd: So I wonder what level access it has to bypass all that, and that's the whole thing is like-

[00:25:30] cybershortieee: Full disk ask-

[00:25:31] hd: The-

[00:25:31] cybershortieee: All disk access ...

[00:25:32] hd: we should have, I should have labeled this the cons of being an early adopter.

[00:25:36] cybershortieee: No, that is very true.

[00:25:38] Very true, because early adoption does come with a lot of-

[00:25:42] hd: And the crazy thing is I actually downloaded Muse a while back, like a, maybe like a week before, uh, AJ was talking about he was using it. However, I thought it was strictly for Instagram, 'cause the way they was-

[00:25:53] cybershortieee: The way that it was advertised.

[00:25:54] hd: Yeah, I thought it was an agent for my Instagram, so I was like, "Cool," 'cause, like, I'm busy.

[00:25:58] I can get this to [00:26:00] pitched for me and all this other stuff. But then I realized it's more than that, and I'm like, "I'm not jacking that."

[00:26:06] cybershortieee: I'm scared to integrate a lot of things. I am, truly. Like, I use a lot of things, but I don't integrate them with other things to make my life easier.

[00:26:16] hd: Yeah, no, for real. I'm just, like, getting on, on the

[00:26:20] cybershortieee: AI- Like Cloud, Chat, same.

[00:26:21] They're not accessing Google anything. I'm just giving it

[00:26:25] hd: whatever. Oh, oh you're saying it's got a local MCP? Yeah. Okay.

[00:26:27] cybershortieee: Yeah.

[00:26:28] hd: Yeah.

[00:26:28] cybershortieee: I'm just nervous.

[00:26:29] hd: Well, I use my Gemini within the browser, so it's all that going on. But while we're talking about this, that made me think about, um, at Fal.Con, Kraushik announced that they were...

[00:26:41] Pretty much everybody is doing this now, but, um-

[00:26:44] cybershortieee: At what?

[00:26:45] hd: Fal.Con, that's their, uh, com- conference. Conference. Hopefully, hopefully I'll be there next year. Hopefully, you know.

[00:26:51] cybershortieee: We're speaking it into existence. We could be there. It's not hopefully, we will be there.

[00:26:54] hd: Can you be there?

[00:26:55] cybershortieee: Yeah, I'll be there.

[00:26:56] hd: I was just asking could you be there.

[00:26:58] They a competitor .

[00:26:59] cybershortieee: Oh, [00:27:00] probably not then. Ha ha ha.

[00:27:01] hd: Or you just can't post that you was there. Hmm. Hmm.

[00:27:03] cybershortieee: Let

[00:27:05] hd: me go to, uh, let me screen share this, right? 'Cause it's always something. I was telling my team that before we got off, I was like, "Man, we should get some shirts with the logo that says, 'It's always something.'"

[00:27:22] But so like Crash like announces con-continuous identity for AI agents. And I'm not gonna read everything, but, um, modern identity span human service accounts, cloud workloads, SaaS applications, APIs, and increasingly autonomous AI agents operating across cloud infrastructure, SaaS platform, browsers, and unmanaged devices.

[00:27:43] These agents can access multiple systems, invoke APIs, interact with SaaS applications, and make autonomous decisions at machine speed. This creates a challenge for traditional security models. The speed of these agents, combined with the varying privileges of the humans using them, means a trust decision [00:28:00] that was valid at login may no longer be valid moments later.

[00:28:03] And that's a good sentence because of what we just talked about, Muse opted him in the stuff that he said, "Nah, I don't want to do that." A compromised credential or change in business context can instantly alter risk. It's not enough to grant access once and assume trust persists. So CrowdStrike is redefining identity security with continuous identity delivered through CrowdStrike's Falcon's next gen identity security

[00:28:31] Okay, well, we'll talk later. Where we at? Where we at? Where we at? Um

[00:28:36] cybershortieee: Next gen security

[00:28:38] hd: Thank you. Which continuously evaluates identity device threat and business context to determine whether access should be granted, adjusted, or revoked. So they introduced three innovations that extended continuous identity across the modern identity attack service.

[00:28:54] Continuous identity for AI agents enabling real-time authorization for every agent action, expanded [00:29:00] modern privileged access for AWS cloud infrastructure, and unified ownership, visibility, and intelligence across non-human identities. Together, these capabilities help organizations continuously verify trust across human, non-human, and AI identities while reducing standing privileges and identity-driven risk.

[00:29:19] So I'm not gonna read through all this 'cause, uh, it's like, it's a longer thing, so I'm not going through that. If you're interested, go to CrowdStrike's website and check that out. But I think that's gonna be a norm for a lot of companies, that they're going to pretty much make tools to do that. I wouldn't be surprised if Okta does it and everybody else does it, because at the end of the day, it's a, it's a beefed-up service account.

[00:29:43] intro: Mm-hmm.

[00:29:44] hd: That's what it is. It's a beefed-up service account that has much more access than a service account that could do more, potentially can outthink what a service account can do. Can do. So yeah. I was telling [00:30:00] people just that, um, I think something me and Lee was talking about was like, stuff is changing but not really.

[00:30:04] It's the same thing but different. Now, I say, we used to monitor regular human identity, identity, which we're still gonna do. Now, we're changing the attack service to monitor AI agent identities and what they're doing. It's the same thing but differently, and you're probably gonna do it through a different platform.

[00:30:20] So there's a way where now people, if you want to start studying... You know what I'm saying? If you want to start studying all this different stuff with the AI agents and everything else, I definitely think it would be a good look. Shout out to JPMC back there.

[00:30:36] cybershortieee: No, literally

[00:30:40] hd: Now I think it's time to have some fun.

[00:30:42] I think-

[00:30:43] cybershortieee: Spelling bee?

[00:30:44] hd: No.

[00:30:45] cybershortieee: Okay.

[00:30:46] hd: Um, pattern disrupt.

[00:30:48] cybershortieee: Pattern disruption?

[00:30:49] hd: Mm-hmm, and I got the first one

[00:30:56] cybershortieee: Finger

[00:30:57] hd: itch That mean you finna get some money

[00:30:58] cybershortieee: Come on and bring it to Big [00:31:00] Mama

[00:31:01] hd: Big Mama. I probably should've started with that.

[00:31:09] Them kids asking her about why, uh, why she call herself Big Mama is hilarious to me

[00:31:17] cybershortieee: Itching too

[00:31:18] hd: Oh, no. That made me like, uh... She got a song, you know, s- she got a song with 21 called Pop It, and she said, uh, like I said, I'm a real visionary person, and she said, she said, "I ain't shave. If it's something, I ain't give a damn."

[00:31:32] Something she said that, I was like, that was funny to me, but I like it. That remind me of, uh, Nobody knows what it mean, but it's, uh- But

[00:31:40] cybershortieee: it's provocative

[00:31:41] hd: Uh-huh. Let me see what she said. I'm gonna cut this part out of the, uh, thing. That make me wanna say, "Ball so hard, wanna, wanna find me, mm-mm. Dun-dun."

[00:31:50] cybershortieee: Dun-dun.

[00:31:51] hd: Dun-dun. "Mm-mm. Mm-mm."

[00:31:53] cybershortieee: That would be fun. If we did a song- Could only- ... but we could only make the sounds. We couldn't... Well, I guess we could say the lyrics.

[00:31:59] hd: What [00:32:00] she order?

[00:32:00] cybershortieee: But we couldn't play the-

[00:32:01] hd: Fish fillet

[00:32:02] cybershortieee: I don't... That's the only part I know.

[00:32:04] hd: I said a very cadence Ashley. Ball so hard.

[00:32:08] cybershortieee: Yeah.

[00:32:08] hd: I got a Rollie that go tick-tock.

[00:32:10] But anyway, do y'all notice that life was better-

[00:32:15] cybershortieee: Light, I thought you meant the movie

[00:32:17] hd: Life like,

[00:32:23] life, hold on. Life like. But you know that remind me of when Casey and JoJo's on that thing.

[00:32:26] cybershortieee: Oh my God. So

[00:32:29] hd: it's- What he say?

[00:32:29] cybershortieee: It's good little life for me. JoJo, wait. No, what did he say? Casey- Life

[00:32:35] When I tell you I watch that video once a week. Casey what, JoJo? Casey what, JoJo? They lost their minds. But I

[00:32:43] hd: think he said what happened was the, it was a issue with the sync on

[00:32:46] cybershortieee: the

[00:32:46] hd: track.

[00:32:46] cybershortieee: I don't, I don't wanna hear it. They still sounded- They were going crazy ... they still sounded terrible.

[00:32:51] hd: They didn't.

[00:32:53] cybershortieee: Go watch it again.

[00:32:54] hd: I did.

[00:32:54] cybershortieee: No, go watch it again. It's- Yes, they did ...

[00:32:56] hd: one sounded terrible.

[00:32:57] cybershortieee: Okay. I can't argue with that. They both [00:33:00] sounded pretty funky to me.

[00:33:01] hd: What's your favorite Jodeci song?

[00:33:04] cybershortieee: I'm honestly not a big Jodeci fan.

[00:33:06] hd: Me either. I am a fan, but-

[00:33:07] cybershortieee: I can't even name a song ...

[00:33:09] hd: you know this.

[00:33:10] cybershortieee: Tell me.

[00:33:11] hd: Mm-hmm. That's Jaheim.

[00:33:13] cybershortieee: Okay. Mm.

[00:33:15] hd: Watch, I'm starting.

[00:33:21] cybershortieee: What song

[00:33:21] hd: is this? You can see.

[00:33:30] Every time I close my eyes, you know that. I wake up feeling so horny. I wake up feeling so horny. Ayy. I can't get you out of my

[00:33:40] cybershortieee: mind. I can't get you out of

[00:33:41] hd: my mind. A- freaking you is all I need. Freaking you is all I need. Ayy. Is

[00:33:44] cybershortieee: it all I see or all I need?

[00:33:45] hd: All I

[00:33:45] cybershortieee: need. All I need, yeah.

[00:33:46] hd: I would do any- mm, mm.

[00:33:48] It's a animated end with that.

[00:33:49] cybershortieee: Just to make you-

[00:33:51] hd: Just to hear me.

[00:33:52] cybershortieee: Yeah, that's all. Darling, think about

[00:33:54] hd: nothing else. I don't care about nothing else. Freaking you is all I need [00:34:00] tonight. Freaking you is all I need tonight. Mm, mm, mm, dah. I need your body tonight. I need your body tonight. Mm, mm, mm, mm. Hey, they was getting off in the background.

[00:34:12] And my problem is, I wanna sing the ad libs in the song.

[00:34:13] cybershortieee: Yes, same. I don't even know them either, but yeah, same.

[00:34:17] hd: I just want the... What's that last part? Tonight.

[00:34:23] I just want the last part.

[00:34:23] cybershortieee: Who sing, who sing Beauty Is Her Name?

[00:34:27] hd: We'll g- we'll get back into Walmart 24 hours. However, when Walmart was 24 hours, life was better.

[00:34:33] cybershortieee: What a time to be alive. Oh, to go to the store- You could- ... and see them stocking, and I need to get a cr- a can of cream of mushroom, and you're putting it out.

[00:34:44] hd: Take it back. Let's even strip out of the way. You 18, 19, you probably can't get in the club. So, you just got done watching a movie with whoever you with,

[00:34:54] cybershortieee: and- This is a perfect scenario, too.

[00:34:55] hd: Yeah, you just say, "Hey, let's go to Walmart." We go to Walmart. We go to [00:35:00] Walmart. We used to go to Walmart and ride bikes- We go to Walmart

[00:35:02] and get all types of

[00:35:02] cybershortieee: fool-

[00:35:03] hd: foolishness ... Wally, Wally, Wally, Wally, Wally World. The Wally, Wally, Wally, Wally, Wally, Wally World. You ever seen that?

[00:35:08] cybershortieee: Yes. But no, like you, there was, there's so much that you can go to Wal- you can go to Walmart and get some snacks, and go park in lot and pimp. Yeah. You can go to Walmart and ride the bikes.

[00:35:19] We done did that plenty of times. Ayy, listen. We done went and got the, you know the little balls that, that used to be in the little things?

[00:35:24] hd: Mm-hmm.

[00:35:25] cybershortieee: We done went there and played with them. Like, it's so much to do at Walmart.

[00:35:28] hd: Oh, well look. You, ay, listen. D- do not do this, but if you do it, just don't get caught.

[00:35:35] If you ain't got no money, go to Walmart, get you some chicken, and walk around, look around, eat that joint, try to hide it. If they catch you, it's like, "Man, I was gonna pay you. I just forgot."

[00:35:47] cybershortieee: I... Okay, so there's a store back home called Myers that I feel like is more like that. Like, I know that Walmart sells warm food, but I never really got much warm food from there, but Myers-

[00:35:59] hd: Oh, [00:36:00] you s- man, listen

[00:36:01] warm food. I just had

[00:36:01] cybershortieee: some

[00:36:02] hd: Buffalo- Was they

[00:36:02] cybershortieee: tenders?

[00:36:03] hd: Yeah, I got some Buffalo wings. Or bone-

[00:36:04] cybershortieee: those wings.

[00:36:05] hd: Bone-in. And I got some, like, some sweet and sour chicken from Walmart from the deli. Fire. Mm. Fire. That's the thing, too. People be sleeping on, like, the store food, and it be good.

[00:36:16] cybershortieee: Whole Foods has

[00:36:17] hd: good, good food.

[00:36:17] So, 'cause like now, I like getting the, like, Kroger has some good deli sandwiches. I can go to Kroger. I got the deli submarine seasoning at home. Add that joint on there, you straight. 10

[00:36:25] cybershortieee: out of 10.

[00:36:26] hd: You straight. But nah- COVID messed up Walmart being 24 hour

[00:36:30] cybershortieee: It really sucks too, 'cause Walmart really was like, "Yeah, and we're not going back."

[00:36:34] hd: And the crazy thing is-

[00:36:35] cybershortieee: It was convenient ...

[00:36:36] hd: if they do it, it would give so many young kids ways to do... It would be a good way for people that work, like go to school and work open night.

[00:36:42] cybershortieee: To work third shift, yeah. They

[00:36:43] hd: should do it. They should bring it back.

[00:36:45] cybershortieee: More

[00:36:45] hd: jobs. Because think about it, everybody talking about, "Boycott Target.

[00:36:48] Boycott Target." Well, make Walmart 24 hours again, we'll think about it. 'Cause I stay right by Target and they ask me, "Can I help you find something?" Walmart don't ask me that at all. Walmart'll let me look five times and j- just keep walking past

[00:36:59] cybershortieee: me. Let me [00:37:00] tell you who also is friendly, Kroger-

[00:37:01] hd: Yeah ...

[00:37:02] cybershortieee: and Tom Thumb.

[00:37:02] hd: That's the reason why they're... Well, Kro- Tom Thumb been absorbed by... Well, no, Tom Thumb absorbed-

[00:37:08] cybershortieee: By Albertson?

[00:37:09] hd: No, they took, they... I think they absorbed Albertsons, but I think Kroger is gonna buy some Tom Thumbs. 'Cause if you look at the layout, they kinda similar.

[00:37:17] cybershortieee: They very similar. Very similar.

[00:37:19] hd: But I like that Tom Thumb has more people than it has self-checkouts.

[00:37:24] cybershortieee: They have a lot of people in there, especially if it's a new store. They're very kind and friendly and very... They're, they're, they make you feel like, "We're so excited that you're here shopping with us."

[00:37:33] hd: And, and stores like that, 'cause like back home we have a store called Brookshire's. Matter of fact, get some Brookshire's out here.

[00:37:38] Get

[00:37:38] cybershortieee: some here, yeah.

[00:37:39] hd: Stores like that actually hire people with disabilities too. Yep A lot, and get them jobs. So I like that. Like, so when everybody's talking about all this, uh, technological advancement and everything else, they forget about the people. Like, certain people are not gonna be able to do everything, which is why either go do that or everybody gonna have AGI.

[00:37:58] They gonna have to. [00:38:00] There are certain people can do only certain jobs.

[00:38:03] cybershortieee: Agreed.

[00:38:05] hd: So yeah, Walmart 24 hours. Let us know what you think about it in the comments. And if you're on the Patreon, you just witnessed a jam session.

[00:38:12] cybershortieee: We definitely ate it up. '

[00:38:14] hd: Cause I was about to... Listen, I was gonna go on another fire checking run.

[00:38:16] cybershortieee: And beauty is her name.

[00:38:18] hd: No, Sisqó got a song called I Got to Get It. What he say? If I gotta grab you, your neck, to make you listen to me. That's insane. And the

[00:38:26] cybershortieee: mm-mm-mm, mm-mm-mm. That's an insane thing to say.

[00:38:31] hd: You never heard the song?

[00:38:32] cybershortieee: Probably... I probably have.

[00:38:34] hd: Man, you wasn't on Sisqó when you was little.

[00:38:36] cybershortieee: Random, my uncle had a stroke.

[00:38:38] hd: Yeah, you told me.

[00:38:39] cybershortieee: How he doing? Um, my mom just texted me, said she was going up there to see him. He was supposed to get out yesterday from what he told me, but I guess he's still there I mean, you can stay a couple days. You had a stroke

[00:38:51] hd: I'm trying to see. I, I wanna get into the student loan thing. But I'm not sure should I go to the articles or should I go...

[00:38:55] Yeah, let's go to the reaction first and then go [00:39:00] into the, um- The loans ... yeah When I give you my keys, oh boy, don't move my car, man. Oh, baby, what's your name? Don't move my car. Hey, girl. It's your birthday. It's your birthday. I'll buy you- I'll buy you ... know you're thirsty. Say ah. Ah. Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.

[00:39:18] cybershortieee: Say ah.

[00:39:19] hd: Ah, ah, ah, ah. And we don't buy no drinks at the bar. And we don't buy no drinks at the bar. We pop champagne 'cause we got that dough. We pop champagne 'cause we got that dough.

[00:39:26] cybershortieee: Let me hear

[00:39:26] hd: you say ah. They had nobody though. Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah. All right.

[00:39:32] cybershortieee: Bottles of that bub.

[00:39:34] hd: The Rosé. Yeah.

[00:39:38] cybershortieee: Your side of the bed.

[00:39:40] hd: All right, my guy Jamal, he always be making sense

[00:39:45] tiktok: A bachelor's degree is enough if you pick the right major. And the Black people I see on here who are weathering any economy or any environment right now over the last seven years, including the pandemic, are those who majored in [00:40:00] accounting, engineering, finance, like me, and economics, which I also minored in.

[00:40:06] Like, we have weathered it... The... We have survived layoffs. Like, when we g- do get laid off, we find re-employment really quicker. It's something about those specialties, and there's something to be said that Black men and women being a minority in those fields helps it as well. Because all the companies are all, despite what they say, they're always looking to fill that quota of diversity and all that.

[00:40:34] And because we're not so present in those fields, when we have, when you have a major or when you have a degree in those four majors, you stick out. So I wanna know if anyone else is seeing, in those four fields, are seeing what I'm seeing. Like, when I come on here, when I see the Black people who have transversed with the conditions say they should be in [00:41:00] It's always in those four fields, especially considering, and this isn't a aha moment, but there are people who are more credentialed than us who are having a time, and I would say it's because they have the wrong major or they majored in the wrong field And that's just something I thought about because I saw a young lady who made a video saying that she picked accounting- Yeah

[00:41:25] and she didn't have a... She said she could, she didn't have a choice but to get it right because she knew she couldn't afford to, you know, go through grad school and all that. But it just made me think like when I think about the Black people who are really succeeding in the corporate world, it's always those four majors.

[00:41:46] hd: You know what? I ain't gonna hold you, but, uh, he got a point. I would, I would throw us in there, um, if you did get a major in like computer science, computer information systems or something around that, some STEM adjacent, that's [00:42:00] a hot field. I would definitely say, um, we stayed down but not out long enough.

[00:42:05] cybershortieee: Mm-hmm.

[00:42:06] hd: But nah, he's right. And then a lot of people are going to school to picking the wrong majors which is the whole... It's kind of sucks too though.

[00:42:14] cybershortieee: I did. I went to school and picked the wrong major, and I didn't know until I was done.

[00:42:18] hd: You think you picked the wrong major or you just think- Yes ... you didn't prepare for the major?

[00:42:22] cybershortieee: No,

[00:42:22] hd: I picked the- 'Cause you did criminal justice, right? ...

[00:42:23] cybershortieee: wrong major.

[00:42:24] hd: But like hyp- scenario, let's say your people when you told them as a kid, "I wanna be a lawyer," and they started that, what's that? 50- I forgot what it's called, but it's like a saving plan for college. Let's say they started that then, so by the time you got it you had at least a little bit of change to go to law school and focus.

[00:42:44] intro: Mm-hmm.

[00:42:45] hd: I actually think like in your situation, a lot of people I've known that's did criminal justice, most people's families didn't prepare for their kids to go to school. 'Cause if you take criminal justice in the events that you want to be a lawyer, I think [00:43:00] that as long as you prepare you should be okay, especially with now we know student loans and everything else is you're gonna have to prepare for it 'cause they're not finna pay for it.

[00:43:11] But for a lot of people they are doing something just like obsolete. But I, but I don't think that-

[00:43:17] cybershortieee: I don't think that's the worst that you could do degree-wise, but I do think for me personally it wasn't the best decision to get me where I wanted to go. Like, I would've been more happier if I would've just majored in law and started having those conversations then versus after the fact.

[00:43:36] hd: So I did a quick Google and it said lowest paying majors, and I don't subscribe that because they're low in paying they're bad majors to get. Lowest paying majors though came out to be, uh, ECE and elementary education. Yeah. Theology and religious, I definitely agree that. You ain't gotta go to no theology school if you wanna scam people.

[00:43:55] cybershortieee: Um, please.

[00:43:56] hd: Start your own church.

[00:43:57] cybershortieee: Please, please.

[00:43:58] hd: Social services and [00:44:00] performing arts, I definitely think that because like things like that you're either gonna be at the top or you're gonna be at the very bottom. Yep. It's not a lot of in between with those roles. Highest unemployment and underemployment.

[00:44:10] Now this is all Gemini. Google Gemini is citing this story from different articles and videos. Anthropology and archeology.

[00:44:18] cybershortieee: I'm not shocked

[00:44:19] hd: For things like that, I would definitely suggest that- But

[00:44:21] cybershortieee: we need anthropologists and archeologists, you know?

[00:44:24] hd: Yeah. But things like that, I would definitely suggest that you know somebody that does that before you get into it Think about it.

[00:44:32] Hey, I'm gonna be a anthropologist, okay? Who do you know that's an anthropologist? Do you know what they make?

[00:44:36] cybershortieee: Yeah.

[00:44:36] hd: So how do you- Do you know what it takes to be-

[00:44:38] cybershortieee: It might be easier for you ...

[00:44:38] hd: the top anthropologist?

[00:44:39] cybershortieee: Yeah, exactly.

[00:44:41] hd: Fine arts and art history, which is true.

[00:44:43] cybershortieee: Yep.

[00:44:44] hd: Like, I had a fine arts teacher, but she also used to do taxes and other stuff.

[00:44:49] General lib- because she Black, you know, she gonna make it. I'm

[00:44:51] cybershortieee: screaming.

[00:44:53] hd: General liberal arts and communications. Think about general studies and all that, people will handle jobs.

[00:44:57] cybershortieee: They didn't say sociology.

[00:44:58] hd: Um, [00:45:00] let's see. CNBC did the 14 worst college jobs, uh, in March. I mean, college majors. Let's see what they came up with.

[00:45:10] Here are 14 majors that lead to the lowest medium incomes for workers ages 22 to 27. Number one was pharmacy.

[00:45:17] cybershortieee: Really?

[00:45:18] hd: Yeah. I guess it's not the same as being a pharmacist. They had theology and religion at number two, social services, three, performing arts, four, general education, five, ECE, six, elementary education, seven, liberal arts, eight.

[00:45:33] All these things are under $50,000. Biology was nine. Biology is another one, like, if you're not gonna go to med school, do not major in biology. Leisure and hospitality, $45,000. Psychology, $45,000, which I got to help my baby sister, is she wants to do something with psychology and whatever. Granted, we know some people that can help her make some money either while she right out of school, whatever, she gotta stay in school more.

[00:45:55] But I always ask her, "Okay, what you planning to do with that? I know you're gonna have to get an advanced degree."

[00:45:58] cybershortieee: Yeah. "

[00:45:59] hd: What you plan to [00:46:00] do with that?" Anthropology is 12, art history is 13, finance, 14. So it's kind of the same stuff we already read. Uh, it says, "It's worth noting that these figures reflect workers whose highest degree is a bachelor's, so the data doesn't include licensed pharmacists who earn a median..."

[00:46:14] Yeah, I think that's a little disin- disingenuous. I think they probably meant pharmacy techs, 'cause there ain't no way possibly you can put pharmacists in the mix because-

[00:46:21] cybershortieee: They had to meant techs ... '

[00:46:23] hd: cause licensed pharmacists earn a median of $137,000 per, uh, Bureau of Labor Statistics data, and becoming a pharmacist requires a doctorate or pharmacy degree and state licensure.

[00:46:35] A bachelor's degree alone, yeah, so I feel like that's BS. So instead, education fields remain clustered near the bottom a decade into a worker's career. Here's a, a look at the 15 majors held by full-time workers ages 30 to, 35 to 45, who report the lowest median earnings below $75,000. Elementary, 55,000.

[00:46:55] General education, 56,000. Special education, 56,000. Social services, [00:47:00] 60,000. Miscellaneous education, 60,000. Secondary education, 62,000. Anthropology, 65. Family and consumer sciences, 65,000. Theology and religion, 66,000. Health services, 67. Nutrition sciences, 70,000. Treatment therapy, 70,000. Psychology, 72,000. Finance, 77,000.

[00:47:19] In a perfect world, if everything wasn't so high, these salaries is decent. That's my hot take. In a perfect world, if everything wasn't so high, these salaries are decent But with them not adjusting for inflation, you could definitely be hitting some rough patches. So either you get married or you get a good side hustle that can help fill in the blanks.

[00:47:42] That's what I would say for that. Now-

[00:47:46] cybershortieee: I have a question.

[00:47:46] hd: Go ahead

[00:47:50] You forgot it?

[00:47:51] cybershortieee: Spelling bee.

[00:47:53] hd: No, we gotta get to, um, we gotta get to the stu- two student loans.

[00:47:57] cybershortieee: Oh, yes, yes, yes.

[00:47:58] hd: The student loan stuff.

[00:47:59] cybershortieee: The [00:48:00] treasury handoff and scam session.

[00:48:02] hd: Yeah. Did you wanna read that?

[00:48:06] cybershortieee: Yes. Okay. I might not cover it all, so you can chime in.

[00:48:09] hd: Give me a second. Let me edit the thing.

[00:48:18] And I'll, um, I'm gonna filibuster here, then we'll get into it. But the reason why I wanted to go into that is because there's been a lot of different things going on with the updates to the student loans where Trump is not funding certain student loans that they used to in the past, and all this other stuff.

[00:48:33] And my take really is, hey, y'all can't just be down on the people that need student loans. Make the admissions go down for some, and tuition go down for some of these schools because they were shaking hands in the background, "Hey, you raise tuition, we gonna pay the loans. Y'all gonna get paid regardless.

[00:48:48] We gonna screw the people that need it." That's literally what it is.

[00:48:52] cybershortieee: Yeah.

[00:48:52] hd: That's, that's literally what it is, and everybody, the end user or the consumer, we're always taking the brunt end of everything [00:49:00] versus them actually just doing something right, making stuff reasonable, like raising stuff. Like, we really was thinking about it, like, think about it, it shouldn't make sense that it costs less for you to stay off campus than on campus.

[00:49:11] cybershortieee: Why?

[00:49:12] hd: It just don't make sense at all.

[00:49:14] cybershortieee: It does, though. It actually makes the most sense.

[00:49:16] hd: It d- No, no, it shouldn't. It should be much cheaper for you to be a college student to stay on campus.

[00:49:21] cybershortieee: Than it is to stay off.

[00:49:23] hd: Right.

[00:49:23] cybershortieee: Yep.

[00:49:24] hd: Like, why are you so fixated on making all that money from people who are coming to the organization?

[00:49:32] Like, some of them teachers barely even teaching, and they tenured and getting paid a lot of money for what?

[00:49:37] cybershortieee: For the bare minimum

[00:49:39] hd: Exactly. Let me put it on you. Go ahead.

[00:49:42] cybershortieee: All right, the treasury handoff and scam season. Um, so money talk, and this one is touching a lot of our people. So the one point seven trillion federal student loan portfolio is moving from the Education Department to the Treasury in phases, [00:50:00] starting with borrowers in default.

[00:50:02] This week, phase one went live, an online portal called the Defaulted Loans Support Center, where borrowers can get back on track without mailing paperwork. Stakes, nine point three million borrowers were in default as of June. Involuntary collections, meaning taking money from paychecks or benefits, are paused with no restart date.

[00:50:23] The administration says this is a modernization, and Treasury brings financial expertise. Critics, including more than sixty Democratic lawmakers, question whether Treasury can handle it. Here's why it's important for us to talk about. Anytime money changes hands in government, scammers change their scripts.

[00:50:44] Um, and so a lure is the believable story, obviously, that a scammer is going to use to get you to act. Your loan moved to Treasury, for example. Click here to avoid garnishments. Something along those lines. Um, and it's gonna work because part of that is [00:51:00] true, and if you're not paying attention, it's gonna prey on your sense of urgency, um, mentioning the word garnishment, you responding or losing your train of thought out of fear to make a mistake and fall for whatever that scam could potentially be.

[00:51:17] Now, this transfer was announced in March. The portal launched September thirtieth and was beta tested with fifteen thousand borrowers. Also in the news, a rule finalized in July holds programs accountable if graduates don't out earn high school grades-- excuse me, high school grads. Um, the Education Department disputes the banning majors framing.

[00:51:39] LA Times estimates about five percent of programs could fall

[00:51:45] hd: Interesting. And that's the treasury joint, right?

[00:51:47] cybershortieee: Mm-hmm.

[00:51:48] hd: And then so to sum it up real quick, and under the Do No Harm standard, undergraduates who programs, who graduates fall, they see [00:52:00] those as high school graduates could lose access to federal loan funding.

[00:52:03] The reasoning is for decades the government has forced the American people, the taxpayers to underwrite these loans and tuition has increased over 1,000%. Like they just put that out there making it like it's on us. It's increased 1,000% and people can't pay it. They have to get a loan. Since the government got into the guaranteed student loan program, that's also related honestly wilder data point worth mentioning.

[00:52:26] intro: Mm-hmm.

[00:52:27] hd: In a separate but connected policy move, nursing was excluded as a professional degree. Under the administration's bill, meaning nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physical therapy students lose access to the higher $200,000 loan cap that feels like medicine, law, and dentistry still get.

[00:52:49] The American Nurses Association warned that this threatens the very foundation of patient care since it could discourage people from pursuing nursing degrees. Genuinely... Let me see what I want [00:53:00] to say This would really disa-, uh, what's it called? Disproportionately affect Black women

[00:53:12] Well, let me say it. I... This is gonna affect Black people. So black and African American nurses... That's wrong. Black- ... nurses carry the highest average student loan debt burdens compared to other racial ethnic groups. The average debt burden is higher than their peers, with recent studies reporting the mean student debt burden's around $70,000.

[00:53:36] And then a borrow- borrowing weight, ooh, borrowing rate is over 56%. Over 56% of Black nurses utilize federal student loans to finance their initial RN education. They experience disproportionately higher debt-to-income stress and slower principal pay down due to systemic wealth. And then if we get the white women compared to Black [00:54:00] peers, the average is approximately $27,500.

[00:54:04] Hispanic and Latinos, they're high initial utilization at 55%, relying on federal loans for basic RN education. And Asians rely on 22% using federal student loans for initial RN education. And I just think that the way they're going about this is definitely gonna hurt the diversity in the healthcare system.

[00:54:23] We all know, especially when it comes to us, and now being more specific with Black women, they have issues in healthcare with people taking them serious. So if you remove nurses that look like them in healthcare, that could probably read, read through the lines of what's going on with them and be an advocate for them when they don't know how to say what's going on, we can run into big issues bake on, based on lack of diversity.

[00:54:47] I do think being a nurse is a professional job. If not, they should decrease the cost of being a nurse, if that's the case, if you don't deem it to be professional. So [00:55:00] that is kind of where the numbers take us when it comes to that, and that's who it's gonna directly affect. And so if you have young children now who think they wanna be a nurse, start saving now to help them reach the dream of being a caretaker.

[00:55:13] There are some women that actually always wanted to be a nurse, and they are made for it. There are other people that chose the money to be a nurse, and they aren't made for it, so they shouldn't be nurses, because they gonna do a half-ass job.

[00:55:23] cybershortieee: I'm screaming.

[00:55:24] hd: I've seen it. I've seen it. I've seen it.

[00:55:27] Everybody shouldn't be no nurse, and that's just, that's just real. If you ha- and we didn't make you pick to be a nurse. You didn't have to be a nurse. You could've been something else. But I don't know. With these student loan things and the tuition still going up, that's the biggest issue. Lower the tuition and y'all enrollment will grow

[00:55:47] cybershortieee: Thanks

[00:55:47] hd: Lower it.

[00:55:48] That's all you gotta do. All right, so this is from the thread subreddit Career Advice. It says, "Would you leave a 200K extremely stable job to move to a city you really want to live in?" [00:56:00] My answer is no, but let's see. "I'm 33-year-old female and work in tech for a large private company in Atlanta, Georgia. I make around $200,000.

[00:56:08] My benefits are excellent and paid for by my employer. PTO is very flexible, and I generally like my company. I've been there almost five years and have a lot of stability. The company also has a strong no-layoff culture, which feels especially valuable given the current tech market and uncertainty around AI.

[00:56:23] The problem is I really wanna live in Chicago. Let me see if I can do a girl voice. "I've been visiting- Oh my gosh ... I was willing for the past year, and I have built a group of friends there. Date there and generally love the lifestyle, walkability, social life. I thought about treating it as a one-year experiment rather than a permanent move.

[00:56:41] My company recently denied my request to relocate to Illinois for tax legal reasons, so moving would mean eventually leaving my job. That's why I'm stuck. A comparable Chicago job may pay closer to $150,000. I am very well aware that my particular company overpays me. I'd be giving up a six-figure job security in a [00:57:00] rough market.

[00:57:00] There's also obviously no guarantee that moving would make me happier, that my current friendships will last, or that I'd meet a partner there. But I'm also afraid of letting the golden handcuffs keep me in Atlanta indefinitely. I worry that I'll look back and regret not taking the risk while I'm single, financially comfortable, and relatively free to try living somewhere new.

[00:57:19] I also wonder whether staying somewhere primarily because my job is safe is allowing my career to dictate too much of my personal life. I'm not planning to impossibly quit. I have substantial savings and would only leave for another job. I'm more trying to figure out what would make an opportunity worth leaving this level of security for.

[00:57:35] For people who have faced something similar, how do you decide when the stability, golden handcuffs were worth giving up for the life you wanted outside of work? Did you take the risk or stay, and how do you feel about the decision now?"

[00:57:47] cybershortieee: I don't know what women talk like that, but okay, go off.

[00:57:50] hd: I can't make my voice- Go off I can't, I don't got a high, high voice, so hey.

[00:57:54] Uh, so somebody says-

[00:57:56] cybershortieee: This is on Reddit?

[00:57:57] hd: Yeah.

[00:57:58] cybershortieee: Mm-hmm.

[00:57:58] hd: So here's one, [00:58:00] "42-year-old female here in a similar position in another field. You'll be a fool to leave your situation. Chicago is miserable most of the year. The humidity is horrendous. My ex-husband went to med school there, and he was miserable. It's either too hot, too humid, or too cold.

[00:58:13] There's nice weather like once a month in the year. The cost of living is going to be much higher. Your quality of life is going to decrease. You'll be leaving your life behind. This seems like a quarter-life crisis. You're living the dream right now. I make 100K more than you, but I live in LA. With the mortgage, it doesn't go that far.

[00:58:29] Stay in your comfortable job in Georgia. Travel to Chicago since you have the vacation time."

[00:58:34] cybershortieee: That's literally what I was gonna say. You want to be in Chicago and so bad, just go and visit.

[00:58:39] hd: Somebody said, "I had to laugh at your complaints about the weather. I'm gonna go on a limb and say there is zero chance Chicago is hotter, more humid than Atlanta."

[00:58:46] But they're com- they talking about LA, so of course everything gonna feel like more humid to them. "ATL here. The AC is relevant. Plenty of apartments still don't have AC in Chicago like they almost do all in Atlanta, so the summers can be a bit warmer. Humidity [00:59:00] about the same. Is everyone just gonna gloss over the no-layoff culture?

[00:59:05] I'm in a company that explicitly says they do not do layoffs, and it's a single, and it is the single most important thing for me. I can imagine seeing the '08 recession layoff nightmares and even contemplating leaving that if it would be more important than any potential pay raise or cut

[00:59:21] Uh, let's see

[00:59:26] I'm trying to see if there's anything that's actually, like, good worth eating over here. All right, so somebody says, "I'm in Chicago for at least a week, at least six times a year. I wouldn't move there for 150K pay raise, let alone pay cut. I don't enjoy it. Obviously, original poster does. That's fine. I just don't see the appeal, and my company does all the fancy restaurants and the hotels.

[00:59:45] This is a career advice thread. I don't think it's the best career move, just my opinion as someone who frequently has business meetings in Chicago and with my knowledge of the job market. I didn't say the population of Chicago is shrinking. I know it's not, and that is obvious by all that's going on [01:00:00] when you are there.

[01:00:00] I said people are leaving Illinois because of taxes, which they are, including me and many of my friends and family

[01:00:10] All right, so this is a good one. That's for the person. Um, "I feel like I may be going against the grain, but saying the move could be worth it. When you want to do something, there's only one life to live, and if you're really into it, it's good. Could it cost you some money? Could it be a mistake? Sure. But could it also be a great thing that takes you out of stagnation?

[01:00:28] I'm not saying you're in stagnation, but just moves you into something new. A new place, a new phase, and a new part of life." Yes, absolutely. Also, for what it's worth, Chicago is said to be the climate change haven, whereas Atlanta's probably going to get really boiling over the next 10 to 20 years. That should do some very good things to the Chicago real estate prices.

[01:00:46] I don't buy the argument that cost of living is higher in Chicago. Northeast cost of living in general, Chicago is higher. I don't know what they're talking about. In general, even with changes in taxes and other things, it's very often offset by the increase in amenities that you get provided, like libraries, education, healthcare, et [01:01:00] cetera.

[01:01:00] I'm lumping Chicago in with the Northeast. All that said, you will also likely get more of an urban life if that's what you're looking for. Chicago is one of the few cities in the US where you can actually have walkability, sure. It's gonna be cold for some of the year, but it's got transit, it's got people, and it's got life.

[01:01:14] I think personally, it's a great city for the future I don't know. To be honest, uh-

[01:01:23] cybershortieee: It's a privilege question ...

[01:01:24] hd: if you are, uh, let- okay, take this for you. Say you're not married, you making $200,000, and you say, "You know what? I wanna move to Chicago."

[01:01:33] cybershortieee: I wouldn't. I wouldn't wanna move that bad to take a pay cut.

[01:01:36] I don't care about n- I don't care about how bad I would... No. You talking to

[01:01:40] hd: the mic?

[01:01:40] cybershortieee: Personally, I wouldn't do it. I don't care about how bad I would want to move or what I feel like Chicago could offer me. I'm not taking that lar- 100? Please. 50? I'm not even taking a $10,000 pay cut, so no. Uh, I don't think so.

[01:01:56] No.

[01:01:56] hd: Really? See, I'd do- I've taken, I've taken a [01:02:00] 15,000 pay cut to go-

[01:02:01] cybershortieee: To, to move-

[01:02:02] hd: No ...

[01:02:02] cybershortieee: somewhere that I d- that I... No. Not to move. That's what I'm saying. No. Personally, no.

[01:02:07] hd: I'm-

[01:02:08] cybershortieee: It's a privilege question. I'm not mad. I'm happy that she has the, the, the option and the choice. Like, if it's not gonna be that big of a deal for her, then go do it.

[01:02:15] But for me and myself, absolutely not.

[01:02:20] hd: Yeah. I mean, it, it depends. Like, w- 'cause y'all think about it, like, if, if your heart of hearts, if that's where you wanna be-

[01:02:26] cybershortieee: I'm thinking about it and-

[01:02:27] hd: Because some people are like that. Some people will, will leave making more money here to go somewhere because they hate Dallas, DFW so bad.

[01:02:34] cybershortieee: I mean, to each his own.

[01:02:36] hd: That's what I'm saying. So I can't knock them if that's what you want to f- if you feel like that's gonna bring you the intrinsic value of being happy, by all means, go. If I was close to this person, 'cause we're all similar age, I would ask them a couple questions, like, "What is it about it?

[01:02:50] Like, are you just feeling, you feel like more people that's in your vibe? Have you changed your surroundings in Atlanta? 'Cause maybe you can find that there." I'd be like, "Regardless of what people [01:03:00] say about it, it don't get no Blacker than that." No.

[01:03:02] cybershortieee: Yeah. So

[01:03:03] hd: you can find what you need. I mean, Chicago got its Black parts, too.

[01:03:06] I do like that, uh, a lot of the houses there got his- I mean, uh, not history. What's the word I'm looking for? Personality. Has s- like, certain parts got personality based on stuff I see on The Chi. Uh, it's one of my places to go visit, 'cause I like, uh, some of the skylines and stuff that you see in Chicago.

[01:03:23] It looks fabulous. So I don't know. I, I personally wouldn't probably take a 50K pay cut to go there.

[01:03:30] cybershortieee: Same.

[01:03:31] hd: I mean- To

[01:03:31] cybershortieee: the snow? Please ...

[01:03:33] hd: and just, I mean, I know you say you date there, but why were you doing long distance? I feel like this is all about a man or a woman. Mm. 'Cause you come out dating there.

[01:03:43] That's a long way to date.

[01:03:44] cybershortieee: It is a long

[01:03:45] hd: way. Technically, that don't even count. Y'all just only talk when y'all are, like, really around each other. You trying to move all the way there just for some Harold's Chicken?

[01:03:51] cybershortieee: I'm screaming, and it ain't all of that, either.

[01:03:54] hd: If I was you, I'd move to Detroit.

[01:03:56] cybershortieee: I wouldn't do that.

[01:03:57] hd: What up, though?

[01:03:58] cybershortieee: Man, go [01:04:00] on. Please.

[01:04:02] hd: I w- I would move to Detroit. Um- Let's see, so we did that one. Stu Lone, Spend A Muse, FBI. Okay, we got one of the ones that you gave me you wanted to look at, and it's the ice coffee thing.

[01:04:21] cybershortieee: Actually, you picked that.

[01:04:22] hd: No I didn't, you picked that.

[01:04:23] cybershortieee: I did? Oh, okay.

[01:04:25] hd: You gave me the link.

[01:04:26] cybershortieee: Oh, it's a TikTok.

[01:04:27] hd: Mm-hmm.

[01:04:27] cybershortieee: It's a TikTok.

[01:04:28] hd: Yeah, you thought I picked it. I just replaced the link with what it was so I know I stay on it

[01:04:38] tiktok: You know who's not bringing an iced coffee to a job interview? A Black person, because they know that white people get hired faster, and the last thing that they're going to do if they get scheduled a job interview is anything that would get them out of the running because they know how hard it is to get scheduled a job interview.

[01:04:57] You know who's not bringing an iced coffee to a job [01:05:00] interview? A woman who's 52, who was laid off a year and a half ago, who has applied to 167 jobs and can't get scheduled an interview to save her life. You think if she gets scheduled a job interview, she's going to risk it by bringing an emotional support beverage?

[01:05:15] You know who's not bringing an iced coffee to a job interview? A woman who had the audacity to take eight years off of her career to raise her children and now has a gap on her resume. You think if she gets lucky enough to get scheduled an interview, she's gonna bring in an iced chai? If you think that not being able to bring an iced coffee to a job interview is unfair, you have lived a sheltered and privileged existence, and you need to zoom out and understand that you have no idea what true unfairness is.

[01:05:49] cybershortieee: She ate She ate down. I don't even know, you know, how I'm like online, but I'm not. I don't even know how this conversation came about, but... A-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ate down. [01:06:00] Please. Please, please, please.

[01:06:05] Please. I don't know how this conversation came about, but I will say it's pretty-

[01:06:09] hd: It came from a recruiter. It's- So the background- Oh ... is it came from a recruiter saying people are getting iced coffees, and they're doing stuff with them in the interviews.

[01:06:16] cybershortieee: Yeah, they doing this right here.

[01:06:17] hd: Yeah, so it's making it tough on-

[01:06:19] cybershortieee: Come on, bro.

[01:06:21] Come on. Be for real. The cup sweating, the table wet. Mm-hmm. Come on, come on. Be for real.

[01:06:25] hd: Yeah. No, that's... I mean, I talked about it in length a little bit. I-

[01:06:29] cybershortieee: I'm, I'm gonna stop at Starbucks before the interview, but I'm not gonna take it in with me.

[01:06:33] hd: But see, I don't... The thing is, I've seen women make good points about it.

[01:06:37] I used to say, "Hey, natural hair wasn't professional at one point in time." So I don't think it's not professional, I just think that if you are- I just think it's

[01:06:44] cybershortieee: unnecessary ...

[01:06:44] hd: if I just set it down right here, that's fine. One thing. But if I'm playing with the straw- You,

[01:06:49] cybershortieee: or just roll it, like-

[01:06:51] hd: And all that stuff, that's too much.

[01:06:53] Please.

[01:06:53] cybershortieee: Like, so- Please, please ... no, that's too much. And people don't all have the same manners and understanding of, you [01:07:00] know, what should and should not occur.

[01:07:02] tiktok: Y'all remember we used to really go to the computer lab, get on the internet, and then leave the internet right there? Like, nigga, when school was over, nigga, we was outside.

[01:07:14] We wasn't even thinking about a damn phone or social media. Nigga, it was straight about money, being outside, having fun, playing, going over each other crib, or shit, de- D hoes. Like, times used to be good in the bed, like, before this internet shit. Like, you really had to be outside to meet people, to make connections, to build bonds.

[01:07:37] Like, for real, like, there was no way that anybody that come outside was ever an introvert. We was all extroverted. We ain't had no problem being ourself. We ain't had no problem meeting new people. Like, shit used to be cool.

[01:07:52] hd: First of all, that dude look younger than us, so he's kinda capping. Secondly, just because you will go outside don't make you an extrovert.

[01:07:59] You can still be [01:08:00] an introvert and go outside.

[01:08:01] cybershortieee: Me.

[01:08:01] hd: So I don't know what buddy talking about. But yeah, nah, computer lab, going to computer lab used to be fire.

[01:08:07] cybershortieee: So much fun. Literally so much fun.

[01:08:09] hd: Going

[01:08:10] cybershortieee: to- With your friends. Yeah. And y'all all sit like right by each other, and then be pointing to your screen.

[01:08:14] We

[01:08:14] hd: could try to, and then we get in trouble and they gotta move us. And

[01:08:17] cybershortieee: they gotta move you 'cause you're being too loud.

[01:08:18] hd: Yeah.

[01:08:19] cybershortieee: Or going to the library. That used to be a something that-

[01:08:20] hd: Or, or doing something, um ... people used to do ... yeah.

[01:08:23] cybershortieee: Okay.

[01:08:23] hd: Putting the proxy in and going on MySpace, watching YouTube. Um, this is another one I think people need to hear.

[01:08:30] We, especially we know we advocate for people to get into tech. They are around people who do not have like minds of them, and I thought this was perfect, 'cause this is something I definitely have to tell my oldest. Like, stop volunteering information to people. They don't care. It's har- and peop- your kids might think you're being harsh, but you're just trying to prepare them for the real world.

[01:08:50] tiktok: Some of the best advice I can give you, shut the fuck up. Stop telling people your shit. My mom used to tell me some shit as a little kid. She would say, "Chris, don't goddamn [01:09:00] volunteer information." Stop telling people your dreams. They not, they gonna hate on that shit. Soon as you, soon as you open your mouth, either they gonna hate on that shit or they gonna go behind your back and talk shit about you.

[01:09:12] Stop telling people what you gonna do. Just go do that shit. Let the results do the speaking. Because when the results speak, that's when everybody gonna be on your ass, "What'd you do? How'd you do it?" Yada, yada, yada. Stop talking. Just shut the fuck up. That, that's some of the best advice I can give you. Hmm.

[01:09:29] A lot of people are so, they're so eager to, you know, s- "Hey, this is what I did. This is what..." Man, look, a lot of times people ain't rooting for you, and a lot of times it's your close friends who ain't rooting for you. And a lot of people don't understand that. They think all these people that are close to them, they're rooting for them.

[01:09:47] That's why I always tell people, "Look, privacy is a flex." Because when people don't know what the fuck you're doing, they can't fucking hate on you, they can't plot against you. But when you tell the whole fucking world what you gonna do, then guess what? Here come the haters. It's like America [01:10:00] saying, "Hey, we gonna go fuck up this country."

[01:10:01] They're not gonna do that shit. They're gonna fuck that country up when all our ass sleep. When their ass sleep, matter of fact, they not gonna say, "Hey, we finna come over here and fuck y'all up." So stop volunteering information, all right? Hopefully this is helping somebody. Chris with the gems.

[01:10:16] hd: Yeah. No, he's right though, 'cause I mean, think about it.

[01:10:20] You can't tell big dreams to small-minded people.

[01:10:22] cybershortieee: Yeah, they don't, they don't dream that big, so they're not gonna get it and, and be as supportive as someone who do get it.

[01:10:29] hd: And that's when you have to start segmenting- Your friends Mm-hmm ... and figure out who you could tell what. Like you come tell me, "Hey, I'm tryna make 40,000 a month."

[01:10:38] I s- I'ma say, "You can do it." You go tell somebody who only making $2,000 a month, "I'm tryna make 4,000 a month."

[01:10:45] cybershortieee: They not really gonna- "

[01:10:45] hd: Are you happy with what you got?"

[01:10:46] cybershortieee: Exactly. "

[01:10:47] hd: That's too much money. You can't do that. Who you supposed to be?"

[01:10:49] cybershortieee: Exactly.

[01:10:50] hd: And so that's one of the things. Or you might tell somebody, you know, who a grocery bagger, "Hey, I wanna go to law school."

[01:10:56] "You think you can be a lawyer?" All that type of stuff. I [01:11:00] mean, it's real, and that is why your environment matters and your network matters and who you around matters. And I always tell people, and I especially tell the young kids, like ba- if we go back into with the person who wanna move to Chicago, I always just talk about briefly when people like, like back home in Shreveport, people like, "Why y'all moving to the Dells?

[01:11:17] Why you move Dells?" 'Cause- '

[01:11:18] intro: Cause I want

[01:11:18] hd: to ... it's better, and you open up your mind. I was like, when I moved out here to Little M, I ain't see the hood no more. Mm-hmm. Like back home, I could be driving through the hood, then it turn into where you see where the property taxes are at. And I was like, "Yeah, this is different."

[01:11:32] And I was like, even something simple as like when I joined LA Fitness and started playing ball, met different people, and you, your, your mindset stuff starts to change. It switch gears. Even though it's already changed before then- Yep ... because I was making 40, 42,000, $45,000 in Bossier, and that was a lot for the area, but to me it wasn't a lot, 'cause I was like, "I deserve to get paid more."

[01:11:53] And I couldn't get it in the city I was in. And but if you go with somebody who only making $17,000 out of that 45 [01:12:00] seemin' like a lot, and so you can't talk to them about your problems 'cause they don't understand.

[01:12:05] cybershortieee: Yep. Factual. Actual factual.

[01:12:07] hd: So it's just like similar to like you, you'll tell your parents like, "Yeah, I'm paying, you know, $2,000 for an apartment."

[01:12:14] "Oh, you should go get a house." Not knowing, hey, this shit costs $5,000 a month. They're like, "You, you out of touch with reality." It ain't the same back in the day where it used to be so much cheaper to go buy you a house than get an apartment. Not to mention that there are other things that happen if you ain't got no good inspector and everything that's going on where you could've made a bad choice in getting you a, a crib and you paying more money than you ever paid for stuff that should've been fixed, and they try to gyp you when they say, "Oh, well, hey, we ain't responsible for that.

[01:12:41] You signed on the dotted line." Like it's, it's a lot of different things. But to get back on there, but like don't volunteer information. And for me, one of the things I had to work on was- Not volunteering stuff, information people didn't even ask me for. Not in a bad way. Like for example, I'll see somebody I know that's making a concert or something like that.

[01:12:59] I'll [01:13:00] keep scrolling. I say, "You know what? If they ask me what I think about something or what should they do, I'll tell them, but I'm not gonna suggest nothing

[01:13:06] cybershortieee: to them." You'll volunteer the information out

[01:13:07] hd: of yourself. Yeah. I'm not, 'cause they didn't ask me.

[01:13:09] cybershortieee: Yeah.

[01:13:09] hd: And that took me a minute to, to stop doing that.

[01:13:11] So I was like, they want- I'm,

[01:13:12] cybershortieee: I'm gonna ask you.

[01:13:14] hd: So I'm like, if they want the advice, I'll tell them. If not, it's cool. But I don't know. But I think that wrapped up most of our topics we had today for the most part. Um-

[01:13:25] cybershortieee: It's been a good one ...

[01:13:26] hd: we had a concert. We talked about some good things. Hopefully y'all find this one, uh, very entertaining, especially for the Patreon people.

[01:13:34] If you are on Patreon, come to this comment section and tell them they gotta check out the Patreon version because it would not be loaded on... I actually, I could load it onto YouTube because I'm not monetized on the other channel.

[01:13:45] intro: Mm-hmm.

[01:13:46] hd: So I probably could just put it on there. I wouldn't care. Like, or I'll just make it not be, um, monetized, so I might just do that just for the fun of it.

[01:13:54] We'll see. 'Cause they be like, "Man, what he got going on this episode?" Y'all start out talking about something, then get into [01:14:00] singing Jodeci and, and Julia. And

[01:14:01] cybershortieee: then...

[01:14:02] hd: Right. So I'll see how the flow is when I'm editing it. But, um, anything you wanna sa- say to them before we get out here?

[01:14:07] cybershortieee: Um, it's Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

[01:14:09] Call your grandma, call your grandpa, call your great aunties and uncles and, and tell them to be careful on Facebook. You know, tell them to be careful. Tell them to relax with the AI photos, 'cause we've had enough, 'cause they be cutting up. That's my advice. And, and, and,

[01:14:25] tiktok: and, and, and, and

[01:14:26] cybershortieee: I'm Cyber Shorty.

[01:14:28] hd: And my advice is, uh, look both ways before you cross the street.

[01:14:32] Put your seatbelt on, look in the rear view mirror, and, uh, drive slow and drive safe. And in the words of Bebe, get home safe. But until next time, we out. Peace.
