[SPEAKER_11]: You can listen to the Michael Mero Show and she is always my first on the show for anywhere fine podcast or fun There's buddy for everyone.
[SPEAKER_11]: It's the Michael Mero Show with Michael Mero Josh Rooka and Rob Speedway
[SPEAKER_11]: It's only the beginning.
[SPEAKER_11]: And now, here's Mike.
[SPEAKER_11]: Beep.
[SPEAKER_11]: Beep.
[SPEAKER_03]: Beep.
[SPEAKER_03]: Beep.
[SPEAKER_03]: Something's backing up?
[SPEAKER_03]: I looked like I am a construction worker today.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you'd really do you look like a cone.
[SPEAKER_03]: Carlos said it, you know.
[SPEAKER_03]: I bought him in bulk.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I'm not going to leave all of them or not color.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm talking about I bought a variety of colors in bulk from my Chinese website and That was the greatest one was that from Timo or dayglo.com.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was from I don't know one of the one of the probably
[SPEAKER_03]: Probably Timo I would think anything approach that one in subtlety or there is there an orange one that's I would say probably brighter.
[SPEAKER_03]: Would you would you gain yourself to wear that on the bonus show today?
[SPEAKER_02]: Would that be possible?
[SPEAKER_03]: I you have asked I think it is in the closet and it will your wishes my command this is truly a great day
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, but I will warn you with my new soundboard anything I find appropriate for that question You know that suggestion I have to play things.
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how stupid that sounds
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, yeah, so welcome to the show.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's great to have you here.
[SPEAKER_03]: We are we're going to be joined today by a I'm taking a deep dive into my giant fandom as we welcome Marshall Green from Giants now on chat sports a guy that I've mentioned this before he suffers
[SPEAKER_03]: so I don't have to and I watch him get very upset when he is watching the giants on that's the bit now he does he does this is like a watch along or does he re-watch after he does redo a watch along and you don't so it's like the man in cast that right it's the man in cast but you got to watch your own does the man in cast have the game well that's the first time football and yes the game is on the screen he doesn't have
[SPEAKER_12]: He's just lit by side.
[SPEAKER_12]: I know what this is screened.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is like the old days when they'd say turned down the TV and turned on Sonny Sam and Frank.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so you get to watch someone else comment on the game coverage.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that's exactly what I did coming back from my kids game over the weekend.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it was just the many moods of this guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I said, you know what, he really is suffering.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm not because he's getting so upset that it doesn't that it's taking my upsetness away and I realize that ever since I followed him, a couple of years now, I turn him on.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you do.
[SPEAKER_03]: And
[SPEAKER_02]: He likes breaking all of the big mouth.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's take it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you do.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a lot for you.
[SPEAKER_04]: And there's a lot for you.
[SPEAKER_03]: There always is.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so it's fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I reached out.
[SPEAKER_03]: And he said, yes, and he came on.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we taped it last night.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we'll play that for you later this second.
[SPEAKER_02]: With his being, you know, he's not shy about showing his mood and his disappointment.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's funny because that was the same thing we used to joke about in Washington, D.C., the classic radio team of sunny salmon Frank.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you tuned in on like the fourth quarter, you knew the score.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because you knew by their mood.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I got a text from my buddy Brad yesterday.
[SPEAKER_02]: reminiscing about listening to them and he said here's the greatest moment with sunny I said there's so many and he said well what about this one when they came out of a commercial after they was a turnover on downs or something and Frank has all he said well quarterback that's a really common error that a lot of quarterbacks make in the game play isn't it and he just says sunny said no
[SPEAKER_02]: I said that's fantastic.
[SPEAKER_02]: I miss that now.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're losing.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll tell this for Sam.
[SPEAKER_03]: So last night as we mentioned on the show yesterday was your big night at the library of Congress where you got you put your hard shoes and your school clothes on and you went out.
[SPEAKER_03]: to a smart casual event that was going to be, well, not really a fundraiser, but you were invited by the Bush family because you do a podcast.
[SPEAKER_02]: Conservation Nation.
[SPEAKER_03]: You did a many, many podcasts with this Lady Doro Bush.
[SPEAKER_03]: And why is she?
[SPEAKER_02]: She's Dorothy, obviously.
[SPEAKER_02]: Short for Dorothy and her sister-in-law.
[SPEAKER_02]: Her real name is her full name, Dorothy Bush Cook.
[SPEAKER_02]: Cook as we just established, and then her sister.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's cook.
[SPEAKER_02]: And her sister-in-law is Patricia Cook.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they run this organization in addition to their podcast.
[SPEAKER_10]: And on as far as you think you are.
[SPEAKER_02]: never have been.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they, their organization, an edition of the podcast is called Conservation Nation.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was shocked when I got there because there was never a mention of donations or anything like that.
[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't put the touch on anybody.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's the, you're jumping like into the halfway.
[SPEAKER_03]: I want to get the whole experience.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're off.
[SPEAKER_03]: Your wife is feeling good about the, oh,
[SPEAKER_02]: look at that is that's decay or not good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, don't pull it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that should be in pieces.
[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so you're off.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're you're going to the library Congress.
[SPEAKER_03]: You really don't know what you're going to.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I actually told the Bush sisters.
[SPEAKER_02]: later in the evening I said I'm glad I came even though the invitation was strangely vague and they said yeah Was kind of it was it a paper invitation?
[SPEAKER_02]: It was it was an electronic invitation at an email.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so what did the email
[SPEAKER_02]: say, come and join us as we make a presentation of the progress and steps that we have made with conservation nation.
[SPEAKER_02]: And also remember there was going to be co-hosted by the princess from Saudi Arabia, who is also the ambassador from Saudi Arabia.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: And just the very fact that it came from their office and I have a great relationship with them and to be perfectly honest, I miss working with them because they're great.
[SPEAKER_03]: was the evening and opportunity for them to talk about the work they are doing for conservation.
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that would be it and it definitely had a pro conservation theme, but the main thing that they kept coming back to that was remarkable is the advancements that have been made in just the last 10 years of recording the way wildlife underwater, sea creatures, fish, whales, dolphins, all of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: They talk to each other.
[SPEAKER_02]: and the ability to capture their sounds.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now we've all known that whales sing underwater.
[SPEAKER_02]: We've all heard that.
[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, exactly like my just like Bob Bridges and Jeff Bridges.
[SPEAKER_04]: And I didn't realize they had a series of five speakers
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you might have been the guy that was running sound last night, because that's what a lot of the stuff sounded like.
[SPEAKER_12]: Well, have they made it far enough along to translate?
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, recordings now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they did, they said that could.
[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of the fish talk about your political beliefs, Josh.
[SPEAKER_02]: They had a it was a beautiful I think it was a bluefin tuna that as Josh if he had a Jew haircut But he's got the pension server No, but they um they were showing Examples of their new directional microphones and and stuff where they can get frequencies if they haven't ever Been able to do before and they had
[SPEAKER_03]: Now that they're putting these off a boats, yeah, they put them on boos, what they do all of that.
[SPEAKER_02]: They go underwater with the microphones.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have a scuba gear that goes underwater with it.
[SPEAKER_02]: They also want to lava-lear.
[SPEAKER_02]: They do.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have placed microphones.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the fish, actually.
[SPEAKER_03]: I would say there would be interesting for even a layman.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was fascinating.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then they had footage I had never seen before.
[SPEAKER_02]: They showed footage of
[SPEAKER_02]: This was the only time it had ever been captured, and I'm sure it's on the internet if you want to see it, but I had never seen it, that on a whale watching expedition, they saw like maybe 10 sperm whales in a circle, like wouldn't from above it almost looks like a floral design, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: Like they're all spread out like petals.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they didn't know where they, uh, nose first.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, hanging in the water with their tails hanging down.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that too.
[SPEAKER_02]: That was a great.
[SPEAKER_02]: I did not.
[SPEAKER_02]: I see.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they were all faced in a nose first with the tails out.
[SPEAKER_03]: I wish we could really play it back.
[SPEAKER_03]: I would love to know what it was.
[SPEAKER_03]: I heard something.
[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe that was gastro because I would don't know what the bonus show.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I think you've crept out of you and you didn't even know it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, that's the case.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not, I'm not getting any younger.
[SPEAKER_03]: The thing I remember recently seeing online are a pod of sperm whales and they are nose up to the surface and their tails are hanging down.
[SPEAKER_02]: These were more just sort of floating on the surface, okay, and they'd never seen this arrangement before so they were watching it carefully and they saw blood and they said, oh my god I hope one of them is okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're not dying or one of them is sick and they realized one of the sperm oils was giving birth.
[SPEAKER_02]: They showed this on video and
[SPEAKER_02]: and because when a sperm whale calf is born, it's what they call it, it is negative buoyancy that they need to as a family and even though they're not related, they call them a family.
[SPEAKER_02]: This pot of whales need to hold the baby above the water.
[SPEAKER_02]: so it can fill its lungs with air.
[SPEAKER_02]: It takes an hour or more for it to happen and they take turns holding this calf up so it can get the air and its lungs that it needs to breathe and live.
[SPEAKER_02]: They did the research.
[SPEAKER_02]: They found out that this was not a family of whales that were related.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was just a pod of whales and that there were other sea creatures that were there
[SPEAKER_02]: to assist in a birth is crazy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Where, and obviously, the conservation element is protecting the whales was a big whale type of... Well, it's all ocean, all the ocean creatures, ocean people is going to say, it's all ocean creatures.
[SPEAKER_02]: The keynote event of the night, and I wrote her name down because I wanted to get it right, they did a sit down interview with Dr. Sylvia Earl.
[SPEAKER_03]: And she was mother.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Sylvia's mother's long gone.
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but 20 years ago, she was named a legend by Library of Congress.
[SPEAKER_02]: She was the first female named to be chief scientist of the National Oceanic and Atmosphoric Administration.
[SPEAKER_02]: She's been at this forever.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's Dr. Earl right there.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then in the middle is Trisha Cook.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then that's Dorothy Dora Bush Cook on the end.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's the event last night.
[SPEAKER_02]: And she was talking about just statistics that really make you think of not only the damage we've done, but what we have not seen yet and realized about the ocean.
[SPEAKER_02]: How much of it remains unexplored and how important it is for the Earth to exist.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it was very, very eye-opening.
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, the the oceans for the earth to it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's just it was an amazing presentation even for as you said, a layman and not a particularly bright one.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I was fascinated by the whole thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I thought it was we're there and now let's get to the celebrities.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're there any political celebs in attendance.
[SPEAKER_02]: not that I could tell when you really couldn't tell because it opened up in the auditorium which was uh it was actually gorgeous and they had a live orchestra like a nine-piece band that played while it was.
[SPEAKER_03]: James Roy said that really sounds like uh it didn't know a gym gym piece as do golf balls get stuck in their blows.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry, but go ahead, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: They had a live 9 piece orchestra that played what we saw this amazing 4K footage of all ocean from all over the world.
[SPEAKER_02]: Any senators?
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't see any political notables, and I looked around in any congressmen.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, really, as I explained it to Kerry, I said, Captain, members, I looked around, and I said, this just feels like money.
[SPEAKER_02]: it was just rich people.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's the feeling I got that's you meet the princess
[SPEAKER_02]: The princess was called away unexpectedly and had a video presentation.
[SPEAKER_02]: The princess was not there.
[SPEAKER_02]: That was a disappointment.
[SPEAKER_02]: So she did do a nice speech, but it was on video.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is for the princess.
[SPEAKER_09]: You are such an ass.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, that's royalty, Mike.
[SPEAKER_02]: Your royal highness was in there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Come on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Things come up.
[SPEAKER_02]: The best person.
[SPEAKER_02]: Mike, the best person I met.
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, for those kids, we have to go to the little boys room.
[SPEAKER_02]: That was me.
[SPEAKER_02]: Don't take your basics before an event.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you what.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you know what?
[SPEAKER_02]: They did have undisplayed a couple really cool things.
[SPEAKER_02]: The Gutenberg Bible was right in the middle of the Steve Gutenberg.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was the entire cast of policing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, now you're talking about the library of Congress.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so they had the Gutenberg Bible, which was really neat and also Mike donated to the Library of Congress.
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know this.
[SPEAKER_02]: all of the awards that have been given to Marvin Hamlish.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're on display.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking Grammys and Emmys and Oscars and a lot of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: So Marvin Hamlish, how did you just notice that?
[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's there in glass cases as you walk through the halls of life right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're just picking out what meant something to you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's what I saw.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, obviously I've been a lot to everybody, but we got up to no, but I mean, I'm sure what my point was.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I can play this one for you right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let me just do this hold on.
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, no, that's not what I wanted.
[SPEAKER_03]: I want to do this one.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hold on.
[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, you please, just listen to me.
[SPEAKER_03]: My point is that of all the things displayed.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it was, I would say they can't tell me that Marvin Hamlish is the only celebrity that had awards in the library of Congress.
[SPEAKER_03]: He was being featured in the Bible also.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and the Bible was there, which was great.
[SPEAKER_02]: I did meet one person of note, and I have a photograph with this one person just because and it's carries camera and it was dark, so it's not a great picture, but Mike, this is me, and I want to get his name right, it is Robert Newlin.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I never really thought this title existed, but he is the librarian of Congress.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's the head librarian of the... That's his title, the librarian of Congress.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I went up and introduced myself.
[SPEAKER_02]: He was super cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: I gave him a card.
[SPEAKER_02]: He introduced himself to me.
[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about all the stuff that goes on at the Library of Congress.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, I can't believe it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you've never been, and it's a shame that I hadn't been my life after being a DC guy in my whole life, you must go.
[SPEAKER_02]: The building itself, beyond the fact that it's the biggest library in the world, is just beautiful.
[SPEAKER_02]: With painted ceilings and murals, marble, statuary, the whole thing is amazing.
[SPEAKER_02]: And there was great food, there was an open bar, which I did not benefit from, sadly, would have been a lot better five years ago for me.
[SPEAKER_02]: when we got up to the great hall after the presentation when the reception area and everyone's milling around and being rich people and everybody's knowing everybody and I'm not just one of the security guy came up to you last night.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he came up to me and he said a tape of that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, good.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I got that on tape.
[SPEAKER_03]: Somebody Josh, did you know that Rob was approached as soon as he walked through the double doors of the library of Congress?
[SPEAKER_07]: Play that tape where you guys can all see you don't belong here.
[SPEAKER_02]: So why don't you just quietly gun that up your things?
[SPEAKER_02]: And let's not cause a scene, shall we?
[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, Mike, what the security guard said was, hey, great outfit.
[SPEAKER_02]: He said, you really look smart and casual.
[SPEAKER_02]: There was the thing about the evening that was a surprise that they teased a surprise.
[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't know what it was.
[SPEAKER_02]: And there was up in the reception, after we watched the speakers and everything, and
[SPEAKER_02]: and the music stops.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they make a presentation all of the people that have worked with and alongside conservation nation that have recorded all of this audio underwater of fish and whales and all of this stuff that has never before been captured was last night donated to the Library of Congress to be preserved and held with national protection.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was very, very cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, I'd be fascinated by that.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I play pay attention to that kind of stuff because it fascinates me that so much of under the surface of the ocean is unexplored territory, and it's never been seen in all that cool stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the fact that we got to actually see a presentation of that kind of import to the Library of Congress, it was a president's though.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, I do feel a president's.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, but maybe a few future presidents.
[SPEAKER_03]: Rich people.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: But the one thing I do, security was I did have to take off my belt to get in and the metal detector stuff was very specific.
[SPEAKER_03]: They said no bags, so I was actually, I said to carry, it's not using this now I'm doing repeats already, but the security guy, when Rob removed this belt, she was, she was very, she was impressed.
[SPEAKER_03]: She was impressed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, I can't believe it.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's why I didn't even have to show my license.
[SPEAKER_02]: But because they said in the email that we discussed yesterday, no bags of a certain size, I say, Carrie, if you want, I'll carry whatever you need.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so Carrie just said, well, I'll just bring my ID and a credit card.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I put the ID in the credit card in my pocket.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we went in and so she didn't have to worry about any of that stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we're waiting and during the presentation, there's all kinds of
[SPEAKER_02]: pro photographers and videographers everywhere because obviously I realize if this is not a fundraiser what this is this is conservation nation and all the people that are involved they're gathering audio video stuff that they can use to promote and use on social media like there was a like you see at a movie premiere there was an area with like pin spotlights in the background so people could get their picture taken professionally and stuff well there is right there right
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's the event is that the event and so we were there and there's all these, you know, professional news gathers and then photographers and journalists, I didn't know when I saw it looked like all types of people Yeah, that's that's the job speedwack correspondent, but by dumb luck because this presentation of all this audio was a surprise, I didn't realize we're going to be positioned pretty close to where the speeches were being made.
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know this.
[SPEAKER_02]: So when it happens, there's video cameras, of course, trained on the people that are speaking, but then a couple video cameras that are filming the crowd that are watching so they can have cutaway shots.
[SPEAKER_02]: Did you mug?
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't, but here's the funny thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: The video camera, we're talking like a big television network sized video camera was maybe six feet away from me and carry and pointed right at us.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, okay, don't look like an asshole.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm looking up and I'm talking to you.
[SPEAKER_05]: You are such an asshole.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I am.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm trying to play it very cool and look serious and clap what I'm supposed to clap.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then I notice that the guy that's holding the camera points it carry and indicates, please look at the people that are speaking and don't look directly into the camera because she was... That's that's for hoops.
[SPEAKER_03]: Not me not me.
[SPEAKER_03]: You were looking at the camera.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was not.
[SPEAKER_12]: I was absolutely not I told you not to look that's because when the guy is looking right over there when the guy is going like this You can see it in peripheral vision magic box you can see it in peripheral vision So as we're leaving in the you know, we got our food.
[SPEAKER_03]: We got a guy
[SPEAKER_02]: me.
[SPEAKER_02]: I held up a business card.
[SPEAKER_03]: It sounds fascinating.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, thank you.
[SPEAKER_03]: It sounds a bit wonky, little, you know.
[SPEAKER_02]: As always, thank you for your support.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sorry, I've just gone it like I see it.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, there's no celebrity sightings.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm kind of bummed about that.
[SPEAKER_03]: We were kind of talking yesterday on the show that maybe, just maybe,
[SPEAKER_03]: Dubya might show up which we would pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_12]: I was hoping that I could be that could be the case But this is the type of event that those northern Virginia McClain people love Yep, go out there and pretend that you're richer than you are a lot of other people who also think they're richer than they are
[SPEAKER_02]: So when I'm with the librarian of Congress and I said, you know, I just wanted to say this is very cool and it's very positive to me to you and I don't feel I'd be doing myself.
[SPEAKER_02]: I feel I'd be doing a disservice if I had the chance to meet the librarian of Congress and I didn't.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he was very cordial and very nice and he said, have you ever been here before I said no and he said, well you must.
[SPEAKER_03]: he's the nation's hoarder he is you know what my why you would get along with him he absolutely is and he talks so quiet I bet there are more awards than just from Marvin Hamlish I'm sure there are but none more important Marvin and he hears how old I am ladies and gentlemen
[SPEAKER_03]: Marvin Hamless somebody we had on the show years ago and you know what he was great even though he's a noted dick he was super fun he was a blast he loved coming on the show he could let him in a couple of times remember he wrote uh i think he wrote the p-guy jingle for what they're he boy very fun very fun
[SPEAKER_02]: I said, you know, we were just on our way out.
[SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to introduce myself and the librarian of Congress said, well, I'd be pleased to walk you out.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, wow, that'd be great.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we're walking out and hand holding.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you get
[SPEAKER_02]: you get very nice reactions from employees of the library of Congress when you're with the big boss, you know, you get like a, hi, how you doing and all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we're leaving and you tell me all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I give Carrie at this point, as we leave the great hall, I give Carrie her ID back, because we're going back to get the valley parking.
[SPEAKER_02]: because I'm gonna go home and read with the librarian like if you want to take a ride share here's a Washington insider okay don't root yourself to the library of congress you root yourself to the Neptune fountain which is right in front of the library of congress all right good so we're walking to the Neptune fountain and
[SPEAKER_02]: At that point, the librarian of Congress turns me says, do you know what the best thing about being the librarian of Congress is?
[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought, well, it got access to all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: The fact that, you know, the nation's knowledge base is really your responsibility.
[SPEAKER_02]: He said,
[SPEAKER_02]: this parking spot.
[SPEAKER_02]: He was parked about nine feet away from the front door.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody likes the same stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: He loved it.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: I said, your car is closer than the Valleis stand.
[SPEAKER_02]: He said, very cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: I park here every day.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, well, it was so nice to meet you.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I shook his hand and we go.
[SPEAKER_02]: And at this point, Carrie says, did you give me my license back?
[SPEAKER_02]: I said, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Remember, we were up there.
[SPEAKER_02]: I gave it to you.
[SPEAKER_02]: She says, check your pockets.
[SPEAKER_02]: I said, okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: I checked.
[SPEAKER_02]: I said, no, I gave you your license.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this up to now.
[SPEAKER_03]: We had here you go again.
[SPEAKER_03]: You too.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're always leaving stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: You did it on the cruise and now you're doing it at the library of Congress.
[SPEAKER_02]: Mike, I was having a great night and even Kerry was having a good time.
[SPEAKER_02]: We agreed before we left.
[SPEAKER_02]: This was a great night.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then before you let the event.
[SPEAKER_02]: And why were you?
[SPEAKER_02]: Why were you holding her license?
[SPEAKER_02]: because there were no bags allowed, and so, and she did, I mean, women's clothes and have a lot of pockets, and of course, you know, I had my, my burks and my cargo pants.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, my, actually my, they were parachute pants, why are you giving it to her now?
[SPEAKER_02]: Because we're about to get the car and she's going to drive, and I didn't want to forget to give it to her.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the idea is lost.
[SPEAKER_02]: so it's gone and she's and all the whole mood changes.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is like the all the oxygen has been sucked out of the district of Columbia because what it had been a lovely night is now a horrific night because it doesn't matter that they're saving the ocean.
[SPEAKER_02]: What matters is that Carrie has misplaced her driver's license.
[SPEAKER_02]: So she goes to go back in to the library of Congress to look for it.
[SPEAKER_02]: But just like on a theme park or a football game or any sort of big event, they're done letting people in.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're just letting people out.
[SPEAKER_02]: So she can't get back in.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm waiting for the car to come at the, uh, where do you think it is?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it has to be between the hallway of the Great Hall exiting to where the car was.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's very, very little space where it could be.
[SPEAKER_02]: But Carrie wants to re-walk the entire route.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so I get a text from her as our car is being pulled up to the valestia.
[SPEAKER_02]: I get a text she says, I'll be back soon.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just waiting
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, uh, what do you think happened?
[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't.
[SPEAKER_02]: She dropped it.
[SPEAKER_02]: She dropped it.
[SPEAKER_03]: When you when you did the transfer when you hit it to her.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mike, one would think or when she was handing it to you to put in your pocket.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, it was when I handed to her because I handed it to her.
[SPEAKER_02]: I saw it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I put it in her hand.
[SPEAKER_02]: put it in the pocket of her silky black one piece jumpsuit and i'm sure the pockets were not a great for holding on the licenses but she did get back in she walked the entire path my car is just their waiting so i say to the attendant i say um... i'm waiting on my wife is it okay if i just pull my car up and wait here she says sure so i'm there for maybe twenty twenty five minutes and carry
[SPEAKER_02]: Ram the corner and sits in the car and she's I said, did you find it?
[SPEAKER_02]: She had no And I said, oh, okay, and she says go ahead and I'll drive home because you don't see good in the dark Okay, and it became from a great night to stone cold silence for the entire drive home to the point that I'm thinking Am I involved here because why am I being?
[SPEAKER_02]: a part of this, oh, disarray of, of, of, of displeasure because she lost her license, so it's a 40 mile drive from the district of Columbia to our home.
[SPEAKER_02]: And as we're nearing home, I said, that was your, your real ID, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: The one you just got, she said, yeah, I said, do you still have the driver's license that preceded it?
[SPEAKER_02]: She said, yeah, I said, and it's still valid?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I said, so you still have a driver's license.
[SPEAKER_02]: All you need to do is stop by the DMV and get it replaced as a real idea at your leisure.
[SPEAKER_03]: Or call the Library of Congress the following day.
[SPEAKER_02]: I did that today, did not show up.
[SPEAKER_02]: But I did speak to Millie at the Lost Sound Desk and it was not there, so.
[SPEAKER_12]: Or you can go online to the Virginia DMV and they will mail you it.
[SPEAKER_12]: You won.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that might be our next step, but the whole problem is that I had to deal with saving angry the entire ride home because of the inconvenience of the whole thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: When, in fact, it's not that big of a deal.
[SPEAKER_02]: When did you say she noticed it was messing?
[SPEAKER_02]: As we were leaving the event, probably about 9-10.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, people before you got in the car, like it's not in your car.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no.
[SPEAKER_03]: During the transfer, do you think that's when it was dropped?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because your hands do don't do shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's true, especially being that close to an open bar.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was just a mess.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, I suitably gave it to her and she put it in her pocket and then it was gone.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, things are better today.
[SPEAKER_02]: Here's what I know is that we need to fix the oceans and the whales can talk and carry needs a new realises.
[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you to conservation nation and thank you to Doro and Trisha Cook for inviting us because it was a lovely evening and pretty cool to have that kind of sort of unfettered access to the Library of Congress after hours.
[SPEAKER_02]: I had a blast.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's very pretty.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right programing note we're going to do our tidbits a little later on when we come back we're going to have a chat with the little giants nerdiness if you're not a football fan I don't care.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're just going to we're going to talk about this guy and the emotions of sports and what it is to be one of these guys that works for you know a specific team he handles the nicks and also the giant so we will talk to Marshall Green and
[SPEAKER_03]: And, uh, and find out all about the new York Giants.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, it's a little swimming like me, and, uh, Rob was at the library Congress when we recorded that.

[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back to the Michael Mary show everybody.
[SPEAKER_03]: I am going to take a deep plunge right now into one of my passions since I was a little boy since I was five years old at my father's knee watching the Giants and Yankee stadium.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you've listened to this show for any number of years you will know that I am a giant New York Giants fan.
[SPEAKER_03]: and I have become a turbo fan of this gentleman.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's from chat sports.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's Marshall Green.
[SPEAKER_03]: The show is Giants now.
[SPEAKER_03]: I urge you to watch this guy at all times if you are a Giants fan, and if you just want to be entertained on a Sunday.
[SPEAKER_03]: Watch what he does.
[SPEAKER_03]: And let me explain before we bring Marshall in here.
[SPEAKER_03]: I want to explain what happens on Sunday.
[SPEAKER_03]: I watched this in the car because my kid has a little lead tournament.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're driving back down 75 from Sarasota, Florida.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I am watching not the telecast.
[SPEAKER_03]: I am watching
[SPEAKER_03]: Marshall and chat sports and Marshall is watching the game and he is reacting to the game and First of all Marshall, thank you so much for coming on the Michael Mary show.
[SPEAKER_03]: We appreciate it.
[SPEAKER_09]: Thanks for being here Yeah, thanks for having me man.
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm excited.
[SPEAKER_03]: I this thought
[SPEAKER_03]: And, and I immediately, I don't reach out very often to people I have, my very talented guy, Josh, reach out to people, but I, I was so, this thought came into my head that when I watched you watch the New York Giants on Sunday.
[SPEAKER_03]: you, Marshall Green, suffer for me and it takes some of my suffering away.
[SPEAKER_03]: I so wanted to tell you that personally, that's why I booked you and I also told you that I'm an enormous fan and you are the resident giants expert and Marshall was booked a we were recording this late night and he had to step away because there is breaking news
[SPEAKER_03]: And Marshall had a breaking thing happen with the Giants.
[SPEAKER_03]: What happened just a minute ago?
[SPEAKER_09]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_09]: The Giants wide receiver, Braxton Barrios, who was sign of the active roster last week.
[SPEAKER_09]: He left the week four with a foot injury, and it was first reported that he was going to go on IRR.
[SPEAKER_09]: And I think a lot of people assumed four week are IRs.
[SPEAKER_09]: Season wasn't going to be done.
[SPEAKER_09]: But news came out literally 20 minutes ago that he's going to be done for the season Which leaves the giants extreme.
[SPEAKER_09]: We shorthanded at the wide receiver spot only four guys on the active roster And then they signed Dante Fleming who I'm sure we all know everything about To their practice squad so kind of a follow-up move with barriers being out for the year, but The hits that they keep on coming for the New York giants and I'm feeling every single one for
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and Barry is joining that, that wonderful club of injuries under reported by the New York Giants.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then season any, you are all things New York Giants.
[SPEAKER_03]: I want to, you know, I'm not a sports guy per se, but I do like to talk about the emotions of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that thing you do on Sunday.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Have you done that since you've been hosting Giants now on a chat sports?
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you do that every Sunday during the Giants season?
[SPEAKER_09]: Sunday, the first season was 2022.
[SPEAKER_09]: So we've been doing it for a little while now.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, all right, because it watching you react and the many moods of Marshall, including you do a thing for super chats.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you get I think it's $100 donation.
[SPEAKER_03]: You do a beer bang.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I am every time you did one in the fourth quarter, I am showing my wife as she's driving the car.
[SPEAKER_03]: I said, I said, I know, she said, and she, you know, she said, tell him, tell him to be careful.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what she said in my home.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so I'm watching this and the ups and downs of James Winston and the Octaibanks you and I both big fans of the Octaibanks Let's talk about you because you're you're always talking Giants nuts and bolts.
[SPEAKER_03]: How did you get involved with this?
[SPEAKER_03]: Are you at you know, did you become a Giants fan?
[SPEAKER_03]: Have you always been a Giants fan?
[SPEAKER_03]: I would think so from watching you
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, so I'm a third generation giant fan.
[SPEAKER_09]: My dad's giant fan, his dad is a giant fan.
[SPEAKER_09]: I was born on Long Island, but I'm really from Houston, Texas.
[SPEAKER_09]: I was raised there.
[SPEAKER_09]: My dad's in New Yorker 35 years born and raised.
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm 31 years old, so growing up, the Texans weren't really a thing until like 2002, 2003, and I was nine or 10 years old.
[SPEAKER_09]: But every Sunday in our house, my dad
[SPEAKER_09]: I get my Giants fandom from him for better or for worse.
[SPEAKER_09]: It was a, it was a party at our house every Sunday.
[SPEAKER_09]: He had Sunday ticket for as long as I can remember.
[SPEAKER_09]: Giants are on.
[SPEAKER_09]: So I got blessed with being a giant fan from him.
[SPEAKER_09]: But I went to school University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
[SPEAKER_09]: Probably 35 minutes north of Dallas.
[SPEAKER_09]: Always knew I wanted to be sports media.
[SPEAKER_09]: And when I graduated in 2020, there was a company in chat sports.
[SPEAKER_09]: That was just starting to hit the ground.
[SPEAKER_09]: I applied for the job, I got it, I started as a production assistant totally behind the scenes, the company had five people at the time, very, very small, and we had a sponsorship deal come up where the sponsor wanted us to do more Giants videos, and I just stuck my neck out there, and I was like, I could do, I could be the guy and fast forward five years later here we are, and
[SPEAKER_09]: uh... it's been a blast they get to go to work every single day full time job uh... and talk about the giants i also cover the next for chat sports as well so we did that for the finals run that was that was even more of a headache and heartbreak and awesome moments but it was awesome i love it i'm i'm super blessed and i never thought my wildest dreams this would this would be my job i did not
[SPEAKER_03]: it is very it's very modern I mean it's it's the new media and it's a great example of that because I don't know if every team is represented now on the chat sports but there's certainly are a lot of them you cross pollinate with the other people that do what you do in the different markets but you know I haven't had chance to look at many other chat sports
[SPEAKER_03]: But I will tell you.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if there's anybody out there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, can you clearly your passion?
[SPEAKER_03]: It's that's what I love about it because it almost reminds me the old days of radio Where you just you let it go, man.
[SPEAKER_03]: You let all of your emotions out there and I just wanted to say That's why I told you I was a fan.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a beautiful thing to watch.
[SPEAKER_03]: It really is did you?
[SPEAKER_03]: ever get from any of the suits or any of the powers that be any blowback on a hay martial take a chill pill a little bit when when those Sundays are rolling along.
[SPEAKER_09]: what they tell me is don't let my emotions affect putting on a good show and that's really about it.
[SPEAKER_09]: So they let me be me which sometimes I can be a little over the top but I'm just being me.
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm just myself and I'm the good of me is because of me, but sometimes the bad is going to be because of who I am as well.
[SPEAKER_09]: I can't help it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I do.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, look, this is somebody where my son knows you and he likes your stuff, my wife, when my wife says, she doesn't care about football at all.
[SPEAKER_03]: She goes to the bedroom when the football game comes on, you know, and it's just that passion.
[SPEAKER_03]: Does remind me of the old days where you could really be yourself and they're not many places now, certainly in radio, where or even on a national broadcast where you're doing that and here's the here's the another compliment that I will send your way that when I'm watching you do a decent job of these insane emotional fluctuations and also monitoring the game and I'm
[SPEAKER_03]: literally following the game by listening to you.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you stay on that.
[SPEAKER_03]: You stayed focused on that.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the thing I have to ask.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you get a super chat.
[SPEAKER_03]: You do a beer bomb.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you have a record of beer bombs during one of the broadcasts that you consume?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because that's a lot of beer.
[SPEAKER_03]: Marshall, that's a lot of beer.
[SPEAKER_09]: We have gone through a couple of 12 packs before, for better or worse, as you know, the giant skins when you get into November and December the last four or five years aren't that fun.
[SPEAKER_09]: We try to entertain and inform, so we've had to be the entertaining part.
[SPEAKER_09]: Giants are finally holding up the run to the bargain, but yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: And last year, I a study and I've been doing it a lot longer than you have.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, as I mentioned, I have been suffering the ups and days.
[SPEAKER_03]: I went through the good stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: I went through the good stuff as well.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen I've seen the super bowls.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was there in a Blizzard in Washington, DC working at the radio station down there.
[SPEAKER_03]: And when they I think it was Denver, they did they did they beat.
[SPEAKER_03]: Denver in the Super Bowl.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it might have been, but it was, look, it's fun to do, but you also have to know the X's and the O's.
[SPEAKER_03]: Have you always been a sports nerd following all the details like my son does now?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because back people, you're 31, in your generation, not necessarily as informed as the kids are nowadays.
[SPEAKER_03]: Have you always been a knowledgeable in this area?
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, this is sports have been my life.
[SPEAKER_09]: Funny story.
[SPEAKER_09]: I remember one time in middle school.
[SPEAKER_09]: I didn't have a great report card.
[SPEAKER_09]: Come home one time in my dad's.
[SPEAKER_09]: I don't worry about it.
[SPEAKER_09]: Just focus on football.
[SPEAKER_09]: So that was the kind of house that I grew up in.
[SPEAKER_09]: But I played football since I was six years old.
[SPEAKER_09]: My older brothers, five years older than me.
[SPEAKER_09]: I was the team mascot when I was three years old.
[SPEAKER_09]: I played one year of very, very small college football.
[SPEAKER_09]: But yeah, I'm a football junkie, I'm a football nut, and, um,
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, no, it's my life, it is my life and my life depends on the Giants, which is not always a good thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is, and you know, I don't know, I think I have enough stress in my life and certainly during my broadcast career, I had enough stress in my life, but I, uh, with, with now being an elderly father and having a 13 year old, and he is a Giants fan now, my father was a Giants fan.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's, uh, it's a roll group.
[SPEAKER_03]: Last season's hard to describe.
[SPEAKER_03]: as devastating being a fan of that team and when your team, when your team not only loses, but creatively manufactured as many losses as the team last year did.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just, I mean, and you were suffering through all of it, and really sometimes I would only turn you on when
[SPEAKER_03]: when the giants were already, you know, making their march to defeat.
[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, say it just to make me feel, does anybody else share that with you that you relieve me of some of the emotional baggage that I have to deal with?
[SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of a lot of pressure I would think.
[SPEAKER_09]: I get that and then I also get the from my friends and people that watch like, I love the turn you want when bad things are happening with giants because I want to see what to do with them.
[SPEAKER_09]: So you get fruit for happiness for me.
[SPEAKER_09]: That's okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're talking with Marshall Green.
[SPEAKER_03]: He is the host of giants now on chat sports and also the Nixon chat sports and you can find him on a YouTube.
[SPEAKER_03]: If it's any news regarding the giants he will have that for you, I
[SPEAKER_03]: I have to get, I can't let you get out of here without asking a nuts and bolts question.
[SPEAKER_03]: So rumors floating around about perhaps an a-list or receiver for the Giants.
[SPEAKER_03]: What do you think?
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think there's a chance that we could pull in somebody like a Marvin Harrison Jr. to supplement the Giants receivers?
[SPEAKER_09]: At this point, I wouldn't be shocked.
[SPEAKER_09]: I mean, I was shocked when they traded for JJ McCarthy.
[SPEAKER_09]: I kind of felt like, are the giants really going to reach into the 2027 pool of assets to try to save the 2026 giants?
[SPEAKER_09]: You're down Jackson Dart.
[SPEAKER_09]: You're down Brian Burns.
[SPEAKER_09]: Right.
[SPEAKER_09]: when you're three and one like the giants are in lane johnson for ballot Hall of Famer right tackle for the Eagles retire their injuries are stacking up the cowboys don't look great the commander's are commandering the division does somewhat look wide open and
[SPEAKER_09]: The one thing I can say about John Harba is he's not going to quit.
[SPEAKER_09]: He's not going to put on the season.
[SPEAKER_09]: And if he feels like another receiver is going to help this team, I think they will do it.
[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know if they will make a blockbuster trade, but maybe you move on the margins or something along those lines.
[SPEAKER_09]: But I think a move could be coming quite frankly, my need to come.
[SPEAKER_09]: You only have four active wide receivers.
[SPEAKER_09]: And I don't care how much you want to run the football.
[SPEAKER_09]: You're going to need more than those throughout 13 more games.
[SPEAKER_03]: And as far as JJ McCarthy, the new signing from Minnesota, the trade from Minnesota stone cold lock that we will see him during the season in your opinion.
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I think so.
[SPEAKER_09]: I don't think the giants traded a fifth round pick.
[SPEAKER_09]: for him to hold the clipboard for Jamis while we're on the roller coaster of the Winson experience.
[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know when it will happen.
[SPEAKER_09]: I think as long as the Giants win games, that Winson will keep that job.
[SPEAKER_09]: But if they lose a game, when they lose a game, if they lose back to back games, and they feel like maybe the momentum of the season is slipping, I think JJ is going.
[SPEAKER_09]: I've heard that once he learns the playbook and he feels comfortable, he's going to get thrown in there.
[SPEAKER_09]: They had some packages for him to go and play on the field and the red zone and use his legs as a dual threat didn't ultimately happen, but I think that kind of just gives you a peek behind the curtain of what they think his plan is going to be for this football team.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you're doing, you know, I call you, I can.
[SPEAKER_03]: I can call you a kid and I refer to you as a kid.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're about the, uh,
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you said 31.
[SPEAKER_03]: That is my oldest daughter's age.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I root for you.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's just what you're doing in my opinion is unique.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it was so nice for you to take the time.
[SPEAKER_03]: I would love, you know, listen, how about this?
[SPEAKER_03]: In the event that we get to the playoffs, can we can we reconvene just I have a moment to talk to Giants because that would be an awful lot of fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'd love to get
[SPEAKER_03]: any time you want me and this this was awesome i appreciate you reaching out to kind words uh... you don't have to be that kind i'm not that there's martial make no mistake you suffer so i don't have to suffer and that i give you a solid for that and i think it's what all by the way are you a married guy do you have any uh... married with kids or you i didn't i get the impression with the beer belongs maybe not
[SPEAKER_09]: No, I'm married to the New York Giants, right?
[SPEAKER_04]: Ah, that's a great, that is a great fucking answer right there.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Marshall Green Chat Sports Giants now, check them out.
[SPEAKER_03]: T.M.
[SPEAKER_03]: OS fans, because this guy is the real deal.
[SPEAKER_03]: I will be watching you someday, my friend.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for coming on, Marshall.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much.
[SPEAKER_03]: Very cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love doing that.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a lot of fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, very nice guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, I kissed his ass for 15 minutes.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, yeah, I'm a fan, boy.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm a fan, boy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Big time, because you know, I mean, but it's hard to describe the psychological.
[SPEAKER_03]: The psychological well-being that I experience when I watch him.
[SPEAKER_03]: He lifts all the pain from me.
[SPEAKER_02]: You cannot ignore grief.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And grief will hit you at the weirdest times.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm glad that you were able to somehow alleviate your grief here.
[SPEAKER_03]: What?
[SPEAKER_03]: We have a big news from Ali M.D.
[SPEAKER_03]: Prices have dropped.
[SPEAKER_03]: In fact, these are the lowest prices they've ever offered.

[SPEAKER_03]: Ali M.D.

[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think peptides would help the giants?
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, I don't think they need help.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're three and one, Rob's viewing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Did you know that?
[SPEAKER_02]: But Mike, that's still not undefeated.
[SPEAKER_03]: no, it's not undefeated and it's also a long season.
[SPEAKER_03]: Very, very aware of that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's start with President Trump.
[SPEAKER_03]: Shall we?
[SPEAKER_03]: We seem to always start.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's a news thing, Rob.
[SPEAKER_03]: You get that right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, he is the president.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's the president.
[SPEAKER_02]: There was an election and a lot of people cast their ballots.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that went to the electoral college.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he was able to secure 270 or more.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he became the president.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's weird about him, Mike, is that so often it's not uncommon for President to serve eight years, but to have another President serve between the two terms, we've not seen that before.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, thank you for the history lesson.
[SPEAKER_03]: Of course, see one trip to the Library of Congress and listen to you.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's pretty incredible.
[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, he's making his third trip our president to Texas in a month as Republicans try to protect what has long been one of the safest states for Republicans.
[SPEAKER_03]: The 2026 midterms are already getting interesting.
[SPEAKER_03]: Trump won Texas by 14 points in 2024, but Democrats are now competitive in several races.
[SPEAKER_03]: Trump is particularly involved in the Senate race.
[SPEAKER_03]: This guy, he's running against.
[SPEAKER_03]: This guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god Ken Paxton.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, just do a dive on him sometime.
[SPEAKER_03]: Find out about this guy Oh my god in the movie Titanic.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm thinking of the same guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I don't think so.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay And you know what I might as well be Ken Pullman because I get Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton mixed up all the time And Bill Pullman.
[SPEAKER_03]: It no Bill Pullman wasn't the guy that passed away was he don't know
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now you got me thinking about my movie and all I know is that all they the headstone for the guy that recently passed away just says bill Because no one was short very good Republican Ken Paxton is trailing Democrat James Talarico and recent polling.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's a good drug recent not anything like that
[SPEAKER_03]: But Trump's approval rating is also becoming a problem with a recent Reuters Ipsis poll putting him at God damn 32 percent.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's pretty significant.
[SPEAKER_03]: So stay tuned.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's gonna be an interesting midterm.
[SPEAKER_03]: Meanwhile, the White House is promoting the new Trump accounts for children.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, sorry.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: I've not heard about this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let me guess.
[SPEAKER_02]: Trump accounts for Joe are these bank accounts.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
[SPEAKER_02]: Were you actually keep a bank book?
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's accounting for children, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: My son's speaking of children has decided to interrupt my news right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: What are you doing?
[SPEAKER_03]: What are you doing?
[SPEAKER_03]: What are you doing?
[SPEAKER_03]: What?
[SPEAKER_08]: And I've been here.
[SPEAKER_03]: What what hold on what you have mean parents no, no, I said I have made an appearance Oh, you've made it a bit lean in so they can see you on the camera.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is my son Michael right here Let's go.
[SPEAKER_02]: Not a great appearance so far make it worthwhile man.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, make it work well You just interrupt the news.
[SPEAKER_03]: What's going on?
[SPEAKER_08]: How shag Michael you got a lean
[SPEAKER_08]: Hashtag Michael's hair is too long and you need to haircut.
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, you do.
[SPEAKER_12]: We're doing cute out of work again.
[SPEAKER_12]: No, I don't think so.
[SPEAKER_12]: What do you do?
[SPEAKER_12]: Do you have any other short day for Mike?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, do you have a real good haircut?
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you have a real good haircut?
[SPEAKER_08]: We're making Nana's brownies tonight.
[SPEAKER_03]: Are you really?
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, because I'm bringing in for my class tomorrow.
[SPEAKER_03]: Are you going to make one?
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you're going to make extras?
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to make three batches.
[SPEAKER_03]: Two batches.
[SPEAKER_03]: OK, thank you.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right, none of those are not.
[SPEAKER_03]: That was worth coming in.
[SPEAKER_03]: Huh?
[SPEAKER_02]: Nuts and those are not.
[SPEAKER_02]: No nuts.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I like a black walnut in my brownie.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, uh, my son's allergic to a nuts.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I told him to talk about trying to kill him, Rob.
[SPEAKER_03]: Good job.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a, uh, accounts for children.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what we were talking about.
[SPEAKER_03]: Government backed investment accounts designed to get kids into the stock market.
[SPEAKER_03]: Children are born and be my kids already in the stock market.
[SPEAKER_02]: He plays it.
[SPEAKER_03]: He does.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's doing it.
[SPEAKER_03]: He does a demo, then play real money.
[SPEAKER_03]: But he does a demo thing online.
[SPEAKER_03]: What can you show my door, please?
[SPEAKER_03]: Private school, Rob.
[SPEAKER_03]: Must be nice.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was going to say, sounds like he's on the stock floor right now in the background.
[SPEAKER_03]: Children born between 2025 and 2028 can receive a $1,000 government contribution.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the administration says all American miners under 18 will be automatically enrolled.
[SPEAKER_03]: Although parents have to claim the account through an app.
[SPEAKER_03]: The idea is to teach children about investing and capitalism.
[SPEAKER_02]: Is there any chance that this is a backward way for Trump to meet people under the age of 18?
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not sure.
[SPEAKER_03]: Your four-year-old can now have a brokerage account while still eating crayons.
[SPEAKER_02]: I would love to see a total miniaturization of the stock market floor, but it's all babies.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they're all screaming in the ringing, but like that scene in the movie trading places.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they're all infants.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, let's get off the government.
[SPEAKER_03]: I, uh, I'm tired of talking about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: How about the key deal, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: I like that McDonald's is being sued over an AI powered pricing system that helps restaurant owners decide, uh, what to charge customers, the lawsuit claims that the system uses private sales information from competing franchises and has helped drive up menu prices.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think anybody has been doing McDonald's recently.
[SPEAKER_03]: McDonald says the lawsuit contains inaccuracies and that it is used pricing technology for more than a decade.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love saying it that way.
[SPEAKER_03]: The system looks at things like sales, location, and competitor prices.
[SPEAKER_02]: I hope they bring them actually to court and they have to have Mike, they have to have Ronald McDonald there, but it is suit.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just nice.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, Amber.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a great blur as well.
[SPEAKER_03]: Basically, the computer has figured out what everyone who has ever bought a big Mac already knows.
[SPEAKER_03]: It ain't cheap anymore, and that sucks.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think everybody can agree on that particular situation.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's Mickey D. I hate to sort of veer here, but as McDonald's done with the sexy hand burglar that they came out with like two years ago, I think.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're doing monopoly again, I think.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's going to be a crooked contest.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't go to McDonald's very often.
[SPEAKER_03]: I really don't.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let me see if they're doing them and not play game.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'll say it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, all right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Peel like you mean it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm peeling right now off my cup.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have the same contest at the skin cancer clinic.
[SPEAKER_03]: What, what, Rob, Rob?
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you, do you read the thing that's on the cup?
[SPEAKER_03]: Or do you read the thing that's here?
[SPEAKER_02]: I think you read the tab that you pull from the cup.
[SPEAKER_03]: Or if you're me, you don't read it at all unless you have a magnifying glass or you hit your glasses and spas out during the middle of your show and they fall on the floor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Very familiar bear.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because you're always ready to go.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let me see.
[SPEAKER_02]: Did you win anything Mike?
[SPEAKER_03]: Connecticut Avenue.
[SPEAKER_02]: Ah, it's a good one.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you know what?
[SPEAKER_02]: You like Connecticut.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I save these and like use a board or something.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have to collect them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, you know what, you're not.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't go to McDonald's.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't go to McDonald's.
[SPEAKER_02]: You want the instant win.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what you crave.
[SPEAKER_12]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_12]: I think the way they do it now is you scan that with an app.
[SPEAKER_12]: So there is no board.
[SPEAKER_12]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_12]: the app so that way they can get all your location detail.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's how they do the organic pricing and they charge like $40 for a big match.
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, but don't worry.
[SPEAKER_12]: Free French fries for signing up.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's right for the app.
[SPEAKER_03]: How exciting.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I can get cook them in Tallow.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's that.
[SPEAKER_03]: How they would have just become one giant company.
[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about this sky dance.
[SPEAKER_03]: they own paramount they've completed the $81 billion take over of Warner Bros.
[SPEAKER_03]: Discovery putting everything from HBO Max and CNN to Harry Potter top guns CBS and Paramount plus under one massive corporate roof the deal creates a media giant value to close to a one hundred eleven billion dollars.
[SPEAKER_03]: How long has it been since you've done the sky dance?
[SPEAKER_03]: It depends I was on tour two years ago with a Dell
[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I thought it was you in Michael Flattley.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, it was just me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Flattley, you know, temperament, I didn't get the contract work down.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I would just dance.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I would dance in a flowing style.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it dealt required.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, she did.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, soon you may have to buy one of the new over-price subscriptions, just to watch a guy throw a ball and a woman murder her husband in the same month.
[SPEAKER_03]: There you go.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think it Dell has the McDonald's app?
[SPEAKER_03]: Why are you doing fat trucks about a dollar when the dollar's no longer big she's like I don't know she's lost a ton of fat trucks.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just curious if she's part of the gaming community Please send the letters to Mr.
[SPEAKER_03]: Rob Spiewack ladies and gentlemen.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you The NFL is already providing some great storylines after four weeks with Kansas City and San Francisco both sitting at four and oh and emerging as early favorite Jesus Christ Kansas City
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: You even get bored with it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I get bored with it too.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I hate the color of their uniforms.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like so red.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I, I, I, but bad red.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like a college uniform.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like bad red.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't, you know what?
[SPEAKER_03]: Red.
[SPEAKER_03]: I sell them.
[SPEAKER_02]: I sell them.
[SPEAKER_03]: Say this fuck you kids.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Rob.
[SPEAKER_02]: Speedwack.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, they're emerging as early as they're literally grimaced for the top see that their conferences and yes, the NFL is already turning into the usual October circus of injuries, roster moves and guys getting cut signed and re-sign, but then here's the problem, yes, here's the problem, is the NFL is a great sporting organization that doesn't require storylines.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is why they're, this is why they're, we're wearing out their welcome.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right because they perform great entertainment for you every Sunday and Thursday and Monday and whenever they play But what type of storylines do you want?
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I want no storylines.
[SPEAKER_02]: I want here's a team.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're gonna play this team and the winner gets to have the win Yeah, that's the story.
[SPEAKER_03]: Watch Marshall when he's screaming and I'm talking really up and down like you would not believe
[SPEAKER_03]: Speaking of another guy, uh, we were briefly Odell Beckham Jr. is getting another shot with the Vikings.
[SPEAKER_03]: They signed him to their practice squad just days after he was cut by the New York Giants.
[SPEAKER_03]: So there's more Giants.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it's like.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's Minnesota now that he's a Viking.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's Minnesota.
[SPEAKER_03]: Meals.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, everybody.
[SPEAKER_03]: And finally, Denali National Park just held something called
[SPEAKER_03]: Chunky puppy day.
[SPEAKER_03]: Ma, Chunky puppy day.
[SPEAKER_02]: Who's that?
[SPEAKER_02]: Chunky puppy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, that maybe the greatest government program ever created the park ran a competition to determine which six month old Alaskan Husky had gotten the heaviest, that's it, no politics, no war, no inflation, just a bunch of puppies getting weighed.
[SPEAKER_03]: I would like to propose the next federal program.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, chunky dad day.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that'll be much harder though in much harder judge.
[SPEAKER_03]: Way every 67 year old, who swears, he's lost a little weight, eh?
[SPEAKER_03]: While wearing the same pair of golf shirts and shorts, he's had since 2019.
[SPEAKER_03]: Ladies and gentlemen, S.A.D.
[SPEAKER_02]: My vote.
[SPEAKER_02]: When you mention chunky puppy, it is my favorite can to suit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, chunky properties fantastic little salty Don't forget to send it with some milk Sinning, thinning, thinning, good, good, everybody All right, hold on, I got my place laws to say it's the final voyage all.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, is that secret?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, by Frankie Ford, but it's an instrumental version.
[SPEAKER_02]: So hey You won't talk over his singing and also we won't get dinged for playing the real record
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the final boy.
[SPEAKER_03]: We still do.
[SPEAKER_03]: And always a chance.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk a little TMOS over the years.
[SPEAKER_03]: We've done a lot of the things.
[SPEAKER_03]: So how do you wrap up the Michael Mary show after all these years?
[SPEAKER_02]: What was your favorite thing?
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that time we went to the place.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'd like that to and remember the guy was there.
[SPEAKER_03]: There was great, and we did that thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god.
[SPEAKER_02]: Next day was a little rough.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, how do you wrap up the Michael Mary show after all these years?
[SPEAKER_03]: You tell them fuck off and get on a boat.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: No one from Kansas City.
[SPEAKER_04]: A big boat.
[SPEAKER_04]: Go.
[SPEAKER_04]: A boat that's got a massive flip flop in the Grand Concourse.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like you when you do your research for this class.
[SPEAKER_03]: January 21st through the 25th, the TMOS family is setting a sale from Tampa to Kazimell for four days of sun.
[SPEAKER_03]: Glad we're not going this week.
[SPEAKER_03]: Ah, am I right?
[SPEAKER_03]: That would be that big.
[SPEAKER_03]: We go right out into that Isaiah's.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Nobody wants to do with that crap.
[SPEAKER_03]: Four days of sun laughs hanging out and one very big moment.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the final episode of the Michael Mary Show.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll record it.
[SPEAKER_03]: on the cruise.
[SPEAKER_03]: With the people who have been there for this whole ridiculous ride, you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because we're not going out with a quiet little sign-off new.
[SPEAKER_03]: No sad goodbye.
[SPEAKER_03]: No thanks for listening and then somebody hit stop.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're doing it the TMOS way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Loudly and proudly.
[SPEAKER_03]: We love you all, and this is your chance to be there with us for the last to rock.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you can
[SPEAKER_03]: scraped it together to get on that, but it's going to be a real, it's going to be so love to have many people there as we can crowd on this ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: Get all the details at tmospodcast.com or call 800-8147-100.
[SPEAKER_03]: Use group code 44435 and tell them you're with TMOs.
[SPEAKER_03]: Book now to lock in your price.
[SPEAKER_03]: It won't be the same without ye.
[SPEAKER_03]: One more trip, one more show, one last time together.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go out with the bang on the fine
[SPEAKER_03]: the final voyage, the final voyage.
[SPEAKER_03]: Rob, it's your moment here.
[SPEAKER_03]: But you want to talk about the Seinfeld tape because I was kind of fascinated with it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I would like to hold onto that for the bonus because I don't think we have enough time to get into what I really want to get into with it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I would like to talk about Josh has a middle school trend.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I want to hear about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's Josh's.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to kick it to Josh after I kicked it to you.
[SPEAKER_03]: If it's okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right, that's fun.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'd like to hear.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's the show, but love heavy with the Library of Congress.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it is.
[SPEAKER_12]: That's a good point.
[SPEAKER_12]: And I want to hear what's going on with Mike's life.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Mike, what do you want to do?
[SPEAKER_03]: I want to do it with Mike.
[SPEAKER_03]: My golf game is in Tatters.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no.
[SPEAKER_02]: Tatters, 80s rats on the west side, bed bugs up town.
[SPEAKER_03]: 97 today, 97.
[SPEAKER_03]: They know right.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if you do your math.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's three short of 100.
[SPEAKER_03]: I haven't seen it 100 in a long time.
[SPEAKER_02]: They say it's okay as long as you shoot your age.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hold on, where's my soundboard?
[SPEAKER_03]: God, damn it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Where's my soundboard?
[SPEAKER_03]: You know how stupid that sounds?
[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, it's just a joke.
[SPEAKER_02]: But you're normally a guy and I'm already thinking you are.
[SPEAKER_02]: The lower 80s, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, well, that's when I'm doing really, really, you know, it's been a while since you've hit a slope.
[SPEAKER_03]: What's the problem?
[SPEAKER_03]: Is it the way you're swinging the club?
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm on the driving range.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll do this really quickly.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm on the driving range.
[SPEAKER_03]: Got my kid who's also playing on his middle school golf team right and I got a lesson set up
[SPEAKER_03]: the teaching guy at the place where I hit my golf balls comes up to me and says uh... i i didn't i forgot that i had family coming and hope you don't my sad let's say it's gonna rain anyway uh... we uh... we can reschedule no problem at all and he says uh... you know by the and then he's just standing there i said but uh... i wouldn't mind you uh... taken a quick peek at me and then he videotapes my golf swing and he doesn't i think yes i do you
[SPEAKER_04]: But you please, just listen to me!
[SPEAKER_03]: you should never let someone look at if you're playing fine don't ask for advice you're going to take it you had yeah but the thing is i don't think shooting in the mid-80s to upper-80s where i was is fine but it was better than i did today it's so embarrassing today it was so i'm going to put your part was it your long game was it your was everything was everything it was finding your ball it was very fine i didn't i don't lose a lot of go yeah i lose a lot of golf yeah you know who's able to find his ball was that teacher
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, let's talk about you miss any give me pots because I know that would drive you crazy Like did you miss a short pot that you really you please just listen to me
[SPEAKER_12]: I want to talk to Josh about the middle school.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're very shy about that.
[SPEAKER_02]: My putting.
[SPEAKER_12]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_12]: Has Michael asked for you to go buy him smarties yet for school?
[SPEAKER_12]: No.
[SPEAKER_12]: You know, I just didn't candy.
[SPEAKER_12]: I know those.
[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_12]: We were requested.
[SPEAKER_12]: We were.
[SPEAKER_12]: It's perfectly fine candy.
[SPEAKER_12]: But we were requested to go buy these for Owen.
[SPEAKER_12]: And Owen requested you requested these.
[SPEAKER_12]: And this isn't a kid candy.
[SPEAKER_12]: Kids don't like these.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're right.
[SPEAKER_12]: So we found it odd, but we bought him a bag.
[SPEAKER_12]: He said I need it for school.
[SPEAKER_12]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_12]: And get all excited because we bought him like extra large like party bag of smarties.
[SPEAKER_12]: And I learned I finally go while there's something going on here.
[SPEAKER_12]: Got all the kids once smarties.
[SPEAKER_12]: So I go to the internet and try to track it down and then we confront Owen and say, what's going on?
[SPEAKER_12]: Why do you need days?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And there's always something up, right?
[SPEAKER_12]: There's always something up.
[SPEAKER_12]: So then he proceeds to show us how what the kids are doing is smashing these on the desk.
[SPEAKER_12]: And then you unravel one side, suck in the powder and blow it out like you're smoking.
[SPEAKER_12]: And that is the middle school trend right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Michael is pretending to smoke smarty's and I realized was it hard to get it out of him Did he like say well nothing dead nothing.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, he thought was he quick.
[SPEAKER_12]: Oh, yeah, he thought it's cool Once you get that I said go get your headphones from my last first again, and I said Why not just candy cigarettes right that's when I learned that they don't make candy cigarettes anymore because Owen has no clue what a candy cigarette is Yeah
[SPEAKER_02]: But now I think I need to order some candy cigarettes and have him take those to school instead and be the I'm sure that you could you can't do cigarettes on T-Moo or any fine Asian provider exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure they're going to find them in America.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't necessarily love, but I like smarties.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like smarties too.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think there are poor man's pez.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like the texture as much.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's too crumbly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're gonna have to come around over here, buddy.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then do you think, I mean, I know Smartie's coming of variety of colors.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think they all taste the same or do Smartie's have different flavors for different colors?
[SPEAKER_12]: I think they're different flavors.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, does anybody have it right now, Josh?
[SPEAKER_12]: Well, yeah, I'm trying to, I'm trying to, I'm trying to, I'm trying to smell it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Have you, has anybody yet your school got a lean right into the shot?
[SPEAKER_03]: Is anybody at the school doing the Smartie's thing?
[SPEAKER_03]: Are you doing things with Smartie's where to see what Josh is doing?
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: He says Owens at Owen's school, they're doing this.
[SPEAKER_08]: We get smarties so in history class, miss, miss West, my teacher.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_08]: If she gets our name wrong, she just, like, she's really bad with name.
[SPEAKER_08]: So she accidentally all the time just says, like, she calls me like, Tommy sometimes out of, out of anybody the most.
[SPEAKER_08]: She calls me Tommy.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I get a bunch of smarties.
[SPEAKER_03]: But this is what Josh is probably trying to do with the bus.
[SPEAKER_03]: Tell Michael what you're doing.
[SPEAKER_12]: You can hear me.
[SPEAKER_12]: So apparently the trend at the middle school here is you smash up one side of the smarty roll and then you unroll it Breathe it in and then blow out the powder like you're smoking.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, we do that Of course, it's always the same it goes nationwide and the blink of an eye that's the way it goes So you've done this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, is it fun?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you want Josh?
[SPEAKER_08]: I've recorded it too
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's don't do that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's too bad.
[SPEAKER_03]: We don't do that.
[SPEAKER_03]: He don't do the house.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't do that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do not do that.
[SPEAKER_12]: So don't do that.
[SPEAKER_12]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_12]: And don't show them anywhere.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't get that a year, please.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's great.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're raising the kid to be a Saturday Night Live in 1976.
[SPEAKER_08]: I want to see Josh do it.
[SPEAKER_12]: OK, Josh, how do you try it?
[SPEAKER_12]: I just tried to smash it up.
[SPEAKER_12]: And I got the powder all over my pants.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you have any smarties in there?
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't I got some today that he's gonna I don't think the camera Doesn't see me where I get out of here.
[SPEAKER_02]: There was enough for an hell that he showed Like a real spoker.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he can lead those I have my spying.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I want him in the room It beats what we used to do when I was in middle school that involved puts your roles
[SPEAKER_12]: I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
[SPEAKER_12]: You blow that out, you're right.
[SPEAKER_12]: But you just did the rapper for that, right?
[SPEAKER_12]: That's right, not the rapper at all.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just need the good side.
[SPEAKER_03]: But Josh, I think this has to be the online world we live in now, the things that are a trend.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's almost, aren't we batting 1,000 percent as you guys have always matched up?
[SPEAKER_03]: We might always, always.
[SPEAKER_12]: which, which parent finds it out first.
[SPEAKER_12]: Right.
[SPEAKER_12]: And we did that.
[SPEAKER_12]: Right.
[SPEAKER_12]: And we did that.
[SPEAKER_03]: We had to wait a long time and then say, yeah, they do.
[SPEAKER_03]: They do.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: They all do the same thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the way it goes.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the way I find it comforting.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think it just means that we're still sort of a global village in a way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the stupid, stupid universe, which is, you know, and then of course, I have to get terrified by we snorted.
[SPEAKER_03]: that Jesus or he snorted it.
[SPEAKER_12]: He didn't say anybody else.
[SPEAKER_12]: He said he snorts it.
[SPEAKER_12]: I warned about snorting and was told why would anyone do that?
[SPEAKER_12]: So that made me feel a little better.
[SPEAKER_12]: There it is, it's just right there.
[SPEAKER_02]: I recall it was high school though.
[SPEAKER_02]: What is the red stuff that you squirt to suit your throat?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like a medicine.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, don't snort that.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no, no, no, you do it burns, I can tell you for sure.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it burns!
[SPEAKER_04]: That's a bunch of two of all characters.
[SPEAKER_03]: You don't want to do that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Getting back briefly if we can to the golf situation.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: having myself on camera and looking at how far down I was bent over the golf ball.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was working fine, but it just looked so unprofessional and it looked even like a bad amateur that I was trying to, and then my body just got into all sorts of crazy cookie positions.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's a good look to another sport.
[SPEAKER_02]: like what it's sixty seven years ago ball you're what you know I'm not now he's not going to move all I can't move that way I really can a lot of people can play pickle ball from a standing position and we don't we don't all have to go out there with a killer instinct Josh's dad how about this have played with one guy if you do teams and he just stands in the middle and he hits the ball if it comes to him exactly I wonder do they have wheelchair pickle ball
[SPEAKER_03]: I like the wheelchair.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like the wheelchair.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like the wheelchair.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've asked it with that side.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't have the strength, the upper body strength for that.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't do that.
[SPEAKER_03]: And a ball of smarties, though, come into our house.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's for sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: A ball.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a father he can't be beat.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I got a question for you, Mr. Man.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Are you?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Wait.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm talking to my producer.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Rob's coming up next.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're really painting today.
[SPEAKER_03]: I do.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I got him, you know.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like when I get him.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like to use Oh, I know.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let me see.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do I have a yeah, Rob's put together some some videos for us?
[SPEAKER_04]: He is too lazy or too arrogant to actually create.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, he's created.
[SPEAKER_03]: You've created some videos today.
[SPEAKER_02]: I created arrogance is what I've created.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_04]: He will talk.
[SPEAKER_04]: He won't listen.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's both you guess you that name the celebrity.
[SPEAKER_04]: We won't talk you won't listen That's Jimmy Stewart there you go.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know it.
[SPEAKER_03]: See there you go.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're not arrogant You're creative.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's creative.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm the most creative on this show because that's so arrogant.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, you're arrogant and creative We have to take a short break when we come back We will have beautiful video right here, but first ladies and gentlemen.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hey jerky
[SPEAKER_03]: Have you ever noticed that your brain has terrible office hours?
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm talking about?
[SPEAKER_03]: It's even worse than Chick-fil-A.
[SPEAKER_03]: Am I right?
[SPEAKER_03]: All day long, your busy work family, Aaron's bills.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, life.
[SPEAKER_03]: Then you finally get into bed, turn out the lights.
[SPEAKER_03]: And your brain says, Great.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now that I have you, let's discuss everything that's wrong.
[SPEAKER_03]: stress and anxiety burn out that thing you said to somebody in 2009 that you're still pretty sure sounded weird sometimes it helps to talk to somebody and the problem is finding the right somebody a licensed therapist you connect with who has an appointment available and who takes your insurance that is where Rula comes in.
[SPEAKER_03]: Rula connects you with licensed therapists and mental health providers who are covered by insurance.
[SPEAKER_03]: They work with more than 100 insurance plans with average co-pays around $15 a session and depending on your coverage, your co-pac could even be zero.
[SPEAKER_03]: Remember, 4 out of 5 financial experts agree that zero is an excellent price.
[SPEAKER_03]: Rula helps me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes I just walk right into him and I didn't know you did the same joke again.
[SPEAKER_03]: Rula helps match you with a provider based on your needs and preferences and appointments may be available as soon as tomorrow.
[SPEAKER_03]: So instead of spending hours searching provider lists, making phone calls and trying to figure out what your insurance actually covers, you can spend that time doing the thing you came in for in the first place, talking to someone who can help.
[SPEAKER_03]: getting mental health care shouldn't become another source of stress.
[SPEAKER_03]: Visit ruler.com slash TMOs today to get started.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's rula.com slash TMOs.
[SPEAKER_03]: Take care of your head.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's where you keep all your stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, ruler.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now onto the billboard.
[SPEAKER_07]: And like that, some beautiful video.
[SPEAKER_03]: Jerry time.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know it's sometimes now not financially or fiscally responsible to go out to dinner.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just so expensive.
[SPEAKER_02]: That being said, if you go out to dinner, you want to stick to the rules and you want to do it right.
[SPEAKER_02]: You don't want to make anyone be embarrassed, and you especially if you're bringing your wife or your girlfriend or your significant other, you want them to perform right.
[SPEAKER_02]: So what I've done as I have found a film and instructional film that appears to have been shot in someone's house, but it teaches you how to take your lady out to a restaurant and how to do it right.
[SPEAKER_06]: Your escort will give your order to the waitress and a well-trained waitress seldom it ever asked the girl a direct question if she should however common courtesy demands that you answer her you want it oil and vinegar dressing on your salad yeah our oil and vinegar has a little garlic in it will that be all I oh well I'll have a French dressing then two with French dressing
[SPEAKER_02]: Always the same kind of act, and also remember you should not as a woman speak to the server, unless she speaks to you directly, and then it's okay, he these are the best and for God's sake if there's garlic in the dressing shift to the front.
[SPEAKER_06]: I just take your order, she leads.
[SPEAKER_06]: In the meantime, you might like to have one of the roles, the waitress or bus boys brought when you first sat down.
[SPEAKER_04]: You might like that.
[SPEAKER_06]: Always break off a small portion of the role, but you need that before breaking off more.
[SPEAKER_06]: And if an accident occurs, it's not the end of the world.
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh shit, anyone can have this happen.
[SPEAKER_06]: If you draw something, you just leave the item on the floor and they want it to be on the right side.
[SPEAKER_02]: Living room?
[SPEAKER_02]: I was gonna say, this is no way this is filmed in a restaurant.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not in a restaurant, it's like in somebody's dead.
[SPEAKER_02]: What's great is watch when they get the replacement fork.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not coming from the kitchen.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's coming from like a hunch.
[SPEAKER_02]: Watch.
[SPEAKER_06]: In the meantime, your escort will wait until your waitress is within easy hearing distance to say.
[SPEAKER_10]: Waitress?
[SPEAKER_10]: Yes sir, we dropped a fork here.
[SPEAKER_10]: Could we have another one please?
[SPEAKER_06]: Of course sir At no time that he raises voice nor tap a glass with silverware to attract her attention You can't locate the waitress.
[SPEAKER_06]: The hostess will notice and come to help.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes
[SPEAKER_02]: Now Mike what about here's a question he's really get these what about I know that this might not be the very next thing but have you been wondering how to deal with gravy Oh, I'd love to know that I must tell you stay tuned because here comes the gravy portion of our instructional film When you finished your meal, you may blot your lips lightly with your napkin.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes
[SPEAKER_06]: Avoid staining the table napkin with lipstick.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Josh.
[SPEAKER_06]: Do not refill the napkin Hold in place it on what?
[SPEAKER_03]: Really avoid staining the napfuck you What if I do that for wow?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well Mike, you know what?
[SPEAKER_06]: I know you're bitter that they're not talking about gravy yet We're gonna pull you back in Although a minimum of makeup repair is permitted at the table You're date probably would prefer to find all face fixing to the powder room in which case you say look at the look
[SPEAKER_03]: What's this lady doing?
[SPEAKER_02]: She's gonna go fix her face.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you know what?
[SPEAKER_02]: I...
[SPEAKER_02]: I need to find part two for next week.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so sorry.
[SPEAKER_02]: She's so busy.
[SPEAKER_02]: She's so busy.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're in the way.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're in the way.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: I think you cut off.
[SPEAKER_01]: Will you excuse me, please?
[SPEAKER_12]: No.
[SPEAKER_12]: You got to the end.
[SPEAKER_12]: There is no gravy.
[SPEAKER_12]: No gravy robbers the gravy.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like the gravy with no gravy.
[SPEAKER_02]: I am you know, but if you look Josh there is a little bit left on the video I'll have to read down there.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm coffee.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and that isn't a leg room.
[SPEAKER_02]: I will tell you this if you lawn the gravy That's left on your plate Terapiece of bread.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, drop it into the gravy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, the bread with so now we're never gonna see it
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you will, because I will find it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: I will find it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you want to go someplace and I think that place felt a little staggy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't that feel staggy?
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what living room didn't feel true.
[SPEAKER_03]: It didn't feel true.
[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're ever in Regina, Canada, or would that be Regina, Canada?
[SPEAKER_03]: I am not sure.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: I hate it when you talk dirty.
[SPEAKER_02]: You would want to go to L's Cafe because this place seems to be fun.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you never drop your ice cream cone, not even if you're doing a cartwheel.
[SPEAKER_01]: and it's an absolutely beautiful day here today and we're done as a scarecrowed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Come get a nice cream cone.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe take a little bit of a nice creamer's out for a rib.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we can balance the ice cream because you can't talk.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, if I went there I think I might kill myself.
[SPEAKER_02]: I apologize, but that's true I'm really bad.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just about the gravy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Don't worry.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let wrap it up We got to try it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's close with this show to take.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I say this often We're dog guys on this show.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, we are dogs But trust us a beautiful dog by the way.
[SPEAKER_03]: I saw it online beautiful
[SPEAKER_02]: Dogs are okay, but cats can be okay if you know how to use them properly.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I know a game we used to play was putting Scotch tape on the paws of a cat.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is good fun, but the more modern person will make a cat chase a laser pointer die, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Send all your animal abuse letters to spewak, raw, care of Michaelmarishow.com.
[SPEAKER_02]: if you're drinking and wrapping presents it just happens.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's all I'm going to say.
[SPEAKER_02]: But if you have a laser pointer and you think, oh, this might be fun.
[SPEAKER_02]: Set up some light plastic bowling pins at the end of a hallway and go, Mike, we're going to close with this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do a little cat bowling.
[UNKNOWN]: Oh, cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[SPEAKER_02]: The laser pointer, of course.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I love the hold on the cat fair.
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, do it again.
[SPEAKER_04]: I knew you would like it one more time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because of course this is what we call catball.
[SPEAKER_04]: This is the best.
[SPEAKER_04]: Catballing.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I will say this, not recommended with full-side 10 pin clumps.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you can't do that with jins.
[SPEAKER_04]: The kids must be like, a main cune can't.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so catch cat bowling.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that was so much fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to do another one for you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do one more.
