laptops done that's my all right cyber
monday cyber monday or whatever it is
called pride day i think it's like
tomorrow or something i need something
whatever something that's coming up that's
cheap or something i need a new laptop
at home because mine is officially bit to
dust
Too much fun.
Too sticky.
I literally had that laptop since twenty
seventeen, eighteen.
So that got you through COVID.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm literally charging my old MacBook to
try to try to give it to Mike.
It still hasn't turned on,
but it says it's charging.
oh yeah yeah mine's mine's over with all
right i'm good all right oh we yeah
we're already recorded so i'll get it
going
All right, y'all.
Patriots beat the Bills,
twenty nine to twenty six at the new
Highmark Stadium,
the first team in this season to win
there and hand handed Buffalo their first
loss in twenty twenty six.
Drake May finally threw for two hundred
and sixty nine yards, three touchdowns.
And we all saw Epton Chisholm's big catch
to seal the deal.
The question is, fellas.
Is Drake May back?
What is one word to describe Drake May's
performances this past week?
Learning.
I'll say learning.
Obviously, it's not all on Drake May.
You know, his coaching staff,
especially on the offensive side of the
ball, Josh McDaniels.
But he's learning that, hey, man,
get the ball out.
Get the ball into some hands down the
field and see if these guys can make
plays happen.
You know,
so it's a vast improvement for the first
couple of games, but he's learning.
And hopefully within with him in the
offense and Josh McDaniels,
they continue to tread in this direction.
I believe he threw about thirty seven,
had thirty seven pass attempts.
That's what I want to see from Drake
May every single game.
My word bailout without that catch from
Chisholm,
which might be the greatest one handed
catch by a white player in the history
of the NFL.
Gronk might have something to say about
that against Pittsburgh.
Gronk's not white.
But yeah,
I still look at here's here's my my
concern with it.
Without that catch,
they might not win the game.
Still threw an interception,
fumbled the ball three times,
lost one of them.
Turnovers are his biggest issue,
and he didn't solve the turnover problem.
I'm much more concerned about the
turnovers than the touchdowns.
The touchdowns will come,
especially once A.J.
Brown comes back.
The turnovers.
So I look at it as, to me,
better,
but still that is a bailout catch to
win the game for them,
and I'm not sold that Drake May is
back or anything like that.
My word is few.
That's a big few for Drake May right
there.
Oh, with a P-H.
With a P-H for the listeners.
That's a few with a P-H.
Talking about if May didn't come out here
and didn't succeed with a win or just
have a successful game,
throw him for three touchdowns,
throw him for over two hundred and fifty
yards.
We're really now looking at Drake May as
Was this just a one-hit wonder?
Is this a player that you have jet
bringing the likes of Kyle Murray and
Shadur up on this show?
It wasn't looking pretty.
Last week, I brought up Carson Wentz.
But now, you know,
with a performance like this,
things get to calm down a little bit.
We're going to dive in more into straight
cash.
Hit that intro.
welcome back to straight cash brought to
you by double m i'm your host marvin
azan and i got my boys with me
every single week we got mr mike nice
in the building what's going on bro how
you doing fellas how you doing how you
doing
and you already know we got jet stride
back in the building with us what's going
on jess i love the jersey man good
to be back yeah i i was uh
i feel like i have to wear something
more like you know patriotsy for the show
uh i have a mickey mouse shirt under
this because you know i work at a
preschool so i have that too for the
kids what a combination what a combination
you know uncle jet love the kids
Easy.
Oh, my gosh.
Let's move on to the main event.
Patriots brought in that same offense.
You had missing pieces.
You lost Matt Collins in the midst of
it all.
Last week,
they scored only six points against
Jacksonville, twenty nine against Buffalo.
Jet,
I'm going to pass it all to you,
man.
What changed this week?
Romeo Dobbs getting the trust of I think
Josh McDaniels and Drake May is a big
part of that and becoming a red zone
threat not something he was really known
for in Green Bay known for being reliable
but not so much in the red zone
and I think that having that sort of
trusted veteran receiver that wasn't Matt
Collins opens up the offense a little
more.
They spread the ball around.
But I think what really changed was more
so on the defensive side that they played
with a lot of purpose and intensity.
And they knew coming into it that there
had been questions.
They weren't without their arguably their
two best players in Christian Barmore and
Christian Gonzalez.
And the defense stepped up.
I think they took it as a personal
slight.
First, I suppose,
getting walloped by Jacksonville and
everybody was already anointing the
Buffalo Bills as the Super Bowl champions
or the team to beat and the AFC
East champions already.
And that Josh Allen is...
just going to win MVP,
and the defense took on that personal
challenge, and they played really,
really well.
There were some really clean open field
tackles, one-on-ones that they won.
I thought the defensive backs held up
really, really well.
I know that Keon Coleman had a couple
of nice catches,
but one of them there's really nothing you
could do about.
That one on the sideline was an amazing
catch.
The touchdown they got beat.
But I think that May, again,
he played better,
and I like seeing Dobbs emerging as a
red zone threat.
But I think what changed the most from
getting killed with Jacksonville to
beating Buffalo in their home stadium was
that the defense played a lot more like
they played last year than they played for
the first three games of this year with
a lot of purpose and with an edge.
Mike, nice.
What did you see different this week going
into after an abysmal loss against
Jacksonville?
Yeah,
that Jacksonville game could have been a
real backbreaker.
And then going into Buffalo,
into their brand new stadium,
taking on arguably one of the best team
in the NFL.
It could have been real daunting on the
whole team.
But what changed or what really emerged
was just their confidence level going up
against the Buffalo Bills.
You would think being in that situation,
coming off that loss, like I said,
to Jacksonville,
and then being in Buffalo,
going against the almighty,
the great Josh Allen,
the way this team has looked the first
couple of weeks,
I don't think anybody had the Patriots
going into Buffalo and doing what they did
and performing how they performed.
It was still a close game.
It came down to the wire, but
The Patriots answered the call.
They didn't back down.
They played with confidence.
They made plays on their end.
Buffalo made plays,
which was what to be expected.
But the Patriots matched it.
They stayed right with them from start to
finish.
And they didn't look like a team that
was coming off –
where it was very ugly against
Jacksonville.
Exactly how the Patriots played against
Buffalo is what you want out of a
team coming off of an ugly loss.
You want them to not let it seem
like that loss got them down in the
dumps, play with a lot of confidence.
And show everyone that, listen,
I know it's been a first couple of
rough weeks, things have looked ugly,
we've lost a couple guys.
But we're still a team to be reckoned
with and we can hang with the best.
I know there was a lot of talk
of all Patriots got lucky,
just a lucky catch at the end of
the game by Chisholm.
But you know what?
I'm not reading into all of that.
Yeah, amazing catch, but
From start to finish,
from first quarter to fourth quarter,
Patriots were right there with the Buffalo
Bills,
who many people probably sees the cream of
the crop in the NFL.
So it was good to see them come
out in that game and play with a
lot of confidence coming off the first
couple of weeks of the season.
I'm looking at the coaching.
And I think the mentality shifted a little
bit when obviously the back was against
the wall.
You saw the fire in Mike Vrabel in
this game that you haven't seen really in
the first three weeks.
Very lackadaisical.
McDaniels, very mundane offense.
And listen, man, we all know Mike Vrabel.
He was in the news this summer.
All right, let's not get it twisted.
He was in the news.
And I have a theory about this.
Now we're going to talk about it.
You know, when you are an alpha,
you're the big dog on campus,
and that's what Mike Vrabel is.
He's the big dog on campus.
Everyone loves him.
Whenever he speaks, everyone listens.
When you get yourself in trouble and you
embarrass yourself,
you embarrass your family,
you embarrass your team,
you can't just come back with that same
bravado, no matter what.
What do they say?
There's a chink in your armor.
There was a chink in Mike Vrabel's armor,
and I think...
It affected the team in a sense.
I didn't see the fight.
This dude was coming up to the press
conferences with a puppy in his hand,
trying to soften his look.
Everything just seemed a little off about
how this offseason started.
And then what happened last week?
That was it.
The sky was falling.
Patriots are done.
Drake May isn't it.
They're asking about Mike Vrabel and his
relationship with Drake May,
questioning that.
Is he really Drake May's guy?
From there on,
you just got to get back to the
basics, get back to who you are,
get back to what this team's about.
And I think Mike Vrabel and his coaching
staff got back to who they were,
and it took them a little bit.
I look at the first drive of this
game, and that's where the difference was.
May starts off with a fifteen-yard
scramble,
and then he hits his first six of
the seven passes,
and that leads to the touchdown to Romeo
Dobbs.
That right there set the tone.
Those type of drives is what we used
to see in the Brady era.
First drive, very scripted.
Let's go down there and smack them in
the mouth.
And that's what we saw this week.
And I thought that was the change.
Yeah, I thought that that was,
to that point,
the best drive of the season, undoubtedly.
It was really encouraging to see,
especially because you felt like, okay,
this is a big moment for the team.
They just got their asses kicked last
week.
They looked shaky against Pittsburgh,
but they beat them.
But Pittsburgh's not really all that
great.
We know what happened in week one in
the opening game of the season against
Seattle.
And so I think there was a lot
of pressure on that drive,
a lot of pressure on Drake May,
a lot of pressure on Josh McDaniels to
script it correctly.
And it did end up being scripted
correctly,
and they ended up cashing in for a
touchdown, which is great.
But to your point about Mike Vrabel and
the coaching staff,
I think –
of course with everything that was going
on with Rabel and Diana Orsini and news
and stuff like that,
like you can't have your full attention
beyond coaching.
And as we know with the NFL,
like it's a, almost a, almost a,
almost a, almost a, almost a, almost a,
almost a, almost a,
So I think it'd be foolish to say
he was able to devote all of his
time and energy mentally and physically to
being able to be present for the Patriots
and be the best version of Mike Rabel
that he could be to make this team
be the best version they could be.
And I think you saw some of those
holes and those flaws in that optimistic
approach and that –
Yes,
I agree with you to a point that
he looked more like himself being fired up
and stuff like that on the sidelines.
But I will say he did make a
huge error that I thought could have cost
them the game at the end of the
first half.
Instead of just taking in the – they
were aggressive, which usually you like,
but you're on the road and you already
lost last week to Jacksonville badly.
They instead turned the ball over and gave
Buffalo three points that they didn't need
to do,
and that could have swung the game,
and they're fortunate it didn't,
but I thought that that was a major
coaching blunder.
It's sort of like you have to read
the room, take the lead,
be happy that you have a lead,
and get out of the half feeling good
about yourselves instead of feeling bad.
I see that play a little differently, Jet,
wherein Vrabel this week was like,
I'm going to show everyone and show Drake
that I have the ultimate trust in him.
So yes, at the end of the quarter,
usually he might not go for that.
But Drake,
I want you to go out there and
make a statement.
Drake fumbled.
or turn the ball over.
And I think we're to the point where
he's not going to pitch a perfect game.
But I enjoyed the aggressiveness this week
compared to what we have been seeing where
it's Ramondre Stevenson,
Travion Henderson, HB Dive.
hb dive no i mean that's no one
wants to no one wants to watch that
football even if it's working no one wants
to watch that kind of football i mean
it's the football you see in the nineteen
sixties and fifties that's the game has
evolved so far beyond that point and
Similar to what you were saying, Marv,
I'm curious what you and Mike think about
this.
Did you,
on their last drive of the game,
did you also like the aggressiveness of
going for it instead of trying to make
Buffalo burn their timeouts?
Because that also, I thought,
could have been a humongous error.
And they ended up winning the game,
so hats off to Mike Rabel.
But I think if they did not convert,
then suddenly Josh Allen has the ball with
a timeout or two and a chance to
win the game.
I think that all the questions and all
the talk will be about, wow,
Mike Frabel has no idea what he's doing.
Like that is,
that was an idiotic coaching decision.
So did you guys,
were you all for that?
For me, I would have said,
make them burn the timeouts.
I think kind of similar to what I
think Marv just said it.
This might have been a game where it
was just Mike Rabel was trying to show
the world and the media that, listen,
all this talk about we – there's issues
between Drake May and myself.
Like,
I look at the game and I look
at the numbers.
Like I said, Drake May, what,
he threw – had thirty-seven pass attempts
from Andre Stevenson and –
uh henderson combined for thirty attempts
between the two of them in my opinion
that's how the game should go i want
to see drake may constantly getting the
ball out of his hands remandre stevenson
fifteen carries max that should how that
should be how it looks every game and
then you balance in and work in uh
henderson that should be what it looks
like every game so i have no problem
bravo trying to show the world that you
know he trusts drake may to have the
ball and and go make a play and
see what happens obviously if it doesn't
go his way and things go left and
they end up losing the buffalo because
josh allen gets the ball back and they
score and whatever take the lead you know
things are going to sound different but it
worked in new england's favor worked in
rabel's favor of how things played out but
i i like the fact that
Drake May had the ball in his hand
a lot more this game,
trying to make plays down the field.
There'll always be questions about the
receivers down the field.
I know a lot of people still don't
like Romeo Dawes.
He had his best game as a Patriot.
But there's still some plays that he made
or didn't make that people are looking at
him like, why is he even here?
We didn't even need him.
But at the end of the day,
it was his best game as a Patriot.
And him stepping up,
Chisholm obviously making plays,
Hunter Henry still reliable.
Um,
These guys are who Drake May has to
work with.
Obviously, you get A.J.
Brown back,
and that adds even more talent to the
group.
But at the end of the day,
Drake May is the quarterback of this team
who you want to see throwing the ball
down the field.
And I'm fine with thirty thirty five plus
pass attempts a game.
That's what I want.
Don't need to see Henderson doing twenty
five or or Ramondre doing twenty five
carries.
Drake may get the ball down the field
and trust and believe in your receivers to
make plays.
So with that being said, fellas,
I want you to think back to week
four.
What was the play of the game for
you?
What stood out?
What was that one play that stood out
that was the turning point for the game?
I'll throw that back to you, Mike.
I mean, it's easy to simply say.
I guess I'll be the one to say
the Chisholm catch was amazing.
And who was the cornerback that was
talking all that?
C.J.
Gardner.
C.J.
Gardner.
Gardner, yeah.
Him talking all that mess after the game.
Oh, no one knows his name.
No one will remember that guy.
One guy made a lucky catch, this, that,
and the third.
You know what?
This could be the breakout game for
Chisholm.
This could be the game that really,
you know,
sets him apart from maybe some of the
other receivers in the room.
Obviously,
we've been looking for a lot more to
pop Douglas, you know, with this being,
what,
his fourth year or third or fourth year,
whatever the case may be.
But Chisholm makes a grab like that,
and...
Usually that instills a lot of confidence
in him,
but a lot of confidence in the offense.
McDaniels made that like, OK,
if this guy can go make that big
of a play in that situation,
that scenario,
maybe he needs to be on the field
a couple more times.
So that play was huge.
Obviously, it did a lot for the game,
but.
I love the confidence it probably
instilled in the team having in him.
And they're looking for the next guy up
to emerge.
Matt Collins, how healthy is he?
We don't know.
Obviously,
Brown is still a couple of weeks away.
Dobbs is questionable sometimes with his
play.
Pop Douglas,
we're still looking for him to carve out
his way in offense.
But Chisholm is a guy who steps up,
wouldn't be mad at that.
And his play was incredible.
One to be on highlight reels when it
comes to the end of the season.
Looking back at some of the greatest
catches from the season,
he's definitely top ten.
And I don't care what else happens in
the rest of the season.
I mean,
Jet already got it in the Louvre.
Said it's the greatest one-handed catch by
a white player ever.
Yep.
Top ten.
Got to be top ten.
It is.
It's in the white.
It's in the white Louvre.
I mean, yeah,
that was obviously the play of the game.
I think I don't think you can you
can make an argument for anything else in
terms of just like the way it happened
and the the fact that it was.
A similar place on the field,
a similar place, sorry,
in the end zone to where the interception
was thrown by Drake May at the end
of the Seattle game in week one.
It was almost kind of like a nice
redemption arc, though, you know,
it's only week four.
So I don't know if you can really
be talking about redemption or anything
like that.
But for me.
was less about one play and more about
a lot of little plays and i'm going
to go back to what i said at
the beginning about the defense josh allen
we all know what he could do with
his legs the defense absolutely was not
allowing it so it's the place to me
that you're not seeing the spies that that
were that were on josh allen the zone
that they were able to play and keep
him in containment because josh allen can
and will be with his legs
Ultimately, on Sunday,
five carries for four yards.
He had the touchdown.
You can't stop that play, by the way,
when he's just goal-line touchdown.
He's too big.
But the defense's scheme and ability to
contain Josh Allen,
every time that they had a spy on
him,
they were not letting him get
break-contained and bust for a big run.
Whereas on the other side,
Drake May constantly was making big plays
with his legs,
picking up first downs and stuff like
that.
So I'm going to say not necessarily,
obviously the play of the game, Chisholm,
but the most important plays,
all those plays that you don't necessarily
see a statistic recorded on,
but the defense is staying in where their
assignments and doing their job,
to borrow a phrase from Bill Belichick,
and not letting Josh Allen break contain
and beat you with his legs.
That was more key to me than anything
in the entire game of being able to
go into Buffalo and beat them.
I love that you shout out the defense.
Makes me want to make sure I remember
to shout out Elijah Ponder.
This dude is stepping up, man,
especially with Barmar being out right
now.
Elijah Ponder,
we got to really start to look out
for him because he's making some noise
right now on this defense.
So thank you, Jeff, for bringing that up.
I would say my play of the game,
I think the two-point conversion.
I look at that two-point conversion.
Drake could have ran that in as well.
It was well-designed,
and he threw it to Ramondre Stevenson to
get that two points.
And it just showed that the Patriots were
never rattled throughout this whole game.
Even when the Buffalo Bills came back,
got the lead, Patriots were not rattled.
They came and they answered away.
Obviously,
there's some word that the stadium ain't
what it used to be now.
It's gentrified a little bit.
So
It's not as noisy as it once was.
So Bills Mafia, I don't know.
Y'all got to have to change things up.
But Patriots were poised.
They were ready.
Whatever was happening during practice
this week,
Vrabel and the coaching staff really had
these boys ready.
And I look at that two-point conversion,
and that sums it up for me right
there.
Well,
I think if you look at the team
too, Marv,
and we talk about something that they
didn't do well last year and that they've
actually struggled with for a while now is
red zone offense.
And when you're scoring a two-point
conversion,
you're essentially getting back-to-back
touchdowns.
So that's two conversions in the red zone
in a row.
And that's not easy to do in the
NFL.
You saw Buffalo fail on a two-point
conversion.
It's hard to score a touchdown in the
NFL,
especially from where you're stopping the
ball for a two-point conversion.
And I'm relieved that they didn't call a
run play on that because I feel I
was very concerned that that's what they
were going to do.
No, for sure.
Buffalo's in the books.
The next game is Sunday at Gillette.
And the Raiders are three and one in
their head coach who beat the Patriots in
the Super Bowl as the Seahawks offensive
coordinator.
Clint Kubiak is running the show now.
So there's some history now coming in to
Gillette.
Raiders are looking good.
I watched the game against Kansas City.
I was really impressed how, you know,
Kirk Cousins got these boys going now.
But their defense,
their defense is what the story is.
Max Crosby,
that whole mess with him going to
Baltimore and now coming back.
But they got those boys ready.
Let's dive a little deeper into this
matchup against the New England Patriots.
Jet,
what is it looking like for you right
now?
Well,
Max Crosby to me is the key because
he's one of the best defensive players in
football, especially when healthy.
And he's going to be going up frequently
against Will Campbell,
who up until last week had had a
nice start to the season.
But I wouldn't say he had a rough
game,
but he certainly didn't play particularly
well against Buffalo.
And Buffalo is a good defensive front,
but they don't have anybody as good as
Max Crosby.
So that's something to really look at.
We know in the past that Drake May,
when he's pressured,
doesn't always make good decisions and
tends to struggle.
And the other thing I'm going to look
at is, to me,
the Raiders have the best tight end in
football in Brock Bowers,
who's just a matchup nightmare.
the Patriots are already relatively thin
at linebacker.
Uh, that's not going to work, uh,
because he'll just eat linebackers alive
all day long.
So you might have to see some double
coverage on him.
Um,
and really game plan like Belichick used
to try to take out their team's best
offensive player.
Uh,
he was hurt for the first two weeks,
but he's been just on fire since he's
come back.
Uh,
he is just so difficult to cover and
opens up everything else.
So I'm going to look for the matchup
for the Patriots to try to neutralize
Crosby as much as possible and see how
Will Campbell holds up.
And on the other side of the ball,
I really want to see the Patriots do
their best to take Bowers out of the
game and force those other receivers and
Gentee to beat you.
Mike Nice,
what are you looking at with the Raiders
coming in this week?
So Jet brought up a lot of good
points, especially defensively.
And Brock Bowers is a force to be
reckoned with.
When he's healthy on the field,
Brock Bowers is a problem.
I think Marvin and I had this conversation
a couple weeks back just talking football.
And what a great call by the Raiders
organization,
even though they took Mendoza with the
first pick in the draft,
letting him cook on the bench a little
bit and giving Cousins a chance to lead
the charge and have Mendoza sit back and
kind of
Learn from Cousins.
You know, whose call was that?
Was it Brady's call to have that be
the case?
Who knows?
But I'm happy to see the Raiders doing
that and allowing Cousins to kind of take
control of the offense and let Mendoza
watch from behind.
With that being said...
Patriots in the first couple of the game,
the first couple of weeks of the season,
what they scored, ten points, six points,
nine points, whatever the case may be.
And then they exploded in a sense against
Buffalo, putting up twenty nine.
I need to see another game like that.
I want to see Patriots putting points up
on the board.
You watch a lot of these other teams
across the league numbers being put in a.
They're being put up left and right.
Quarterbacks are making plays.
Obviously,
Patriots don't have a player like this at
the moment.
CeeDee Lamb, seventeen receptions,
hundred and seventy something yards,
touchdown or two.
Obviously,
AJ Brown would be somebody on the Patriots
to put up similar numbers to that if
he's healthy and able.
But overall,
I wanna see Drake May having a similar
game like he just had against Buffalo.
get that ball out of your hand,
hopefully protections there.
I know we mentioned Crosby and how Will
Campbell might have a rough day trying to
deal with him.
But you wanna see Drake made being smart
in the pocket and getting the ball out
and hoping that his receivers can make
plays down the field and put up another
twenty plus points.
Mike, I need a clean game from him.
Are we going to see a no turnover
game from Drake May this year?
It'd be amazing.
It's not going that direction.
It'd be amazing to get a clean game.
Obviously, these first couple of weeks,
it looks like he can't go a game
without doing something to turn the ball
over.
Fumble, interception.
But I mean,
if we're going off of just the last
week against Buffalo,
it's steps in the right direction.
It was more good Drake May than bad
Drake May, if you ask me.
Yes, the mistakes were there,
the fumbles and the interception.
But it was more good Drake May than
bad Drake May against Buffalo.
And you just want him to use that
game as a building block just to continue
to improve.
And hopefully, you know,
you get tested again in a team like
the Raiders.
You want to step up and rise to
the occasion that test and see if you
can put some numbers up on their heads
as well.
So let's put it on record.
Mike,
you kind of already teased some stats here
that you want to see.
We're entering the put it on the record
segment.
Let's hear both take.
What is a score, a stat,
something wild that might happen in this
game that you're putting on record right
now?
I'm going right back to you, Mike Nice.
What are you putting on record for this
week five's matchup?
I think Patriots, like I said,
continue to build on the success they just
had versus Buffalo.
Offense keeps rolling and guys continue to
get comfortable.
Drake may continue to get comfortable.
Twenty seven.
Seventeen Patriots victory.
But sorry, Raiders look good.
But I want to trust and believe that
Patriots are just a couple steps ahead of
the Raiders and they take the win and
they put another twenty plus point game on
the board and the defense holds the
Raiders under twenty points.
What are you thinking, Jack?
What are you putting on record?
a twenty four twenty Patriots win.
They get a pick six.
Kirk Cousins plays his worst game of the
year because he's looked really good so
far.
I think that
The Patriots have a lot of tape on
Kirk Cousins from over the years and are
going to be able to scheme for him.
So I'm going to say he's going to
throw three interceptions.
One of them is going to go for
a touchdown.
Drake May is not going to have a
clean game.
He'll fumble again and he'll throw another
interception.
That's my prediction.
But the defensive touchdown is going to be
what swings the game for the Patriots in
their favor.
We're going to come back to this.
We're going to see who got real close.
Here's my prediction, man.
Vinny Terry's coming back first.
That's not a prediction.
That's just a fact.
He's coming back this game.
Hold on.
He is coming back this game.
And obviously,
we know Vinny Terry has some history when
it comes to the Raiders.
All right?
Ooh.
What you doing there?
What you doing there, Mark?
Patriots walk off win with...
Bora Gallas.
Bojangles.
Bora Gallas.
Thirty-one.
Twenty-nine.
Patriots take the win.
Thirty-one points.
I would love to see it from the
New England Patriots.
I would love to see that.
Anything twenty-plus would make me happy.
I just want to see Drake May getting
the ball down the field.
And, you know, Ramondre Henderson.
They have their pros.
They have their cons.
Either way,
they don't need to touch the ball that
much.
Let Drake get busy.
It's kind of a sneaky,
huge game for them, right?
Because if they win,
it's a win streak for the first time
in the season, and you're feeling good.
Okay,
they've capitalized off the momentum.
If they lose,
Buffalo suddenly looks like a fluke.
So it could go drastically in either
direction.
Right.
Was that an emotional game against Buffalo
where the emotions were high,
you had to win?
back against the wall,
or can you actually carry momentum against
a really good team in the Raiders,
what it looks like?
They look like a real team.
Have you guys watched the Raiders and see,
like, okay, this team is legit,
or you guys think, ah,
this is just a mirage?
Yeah, I mean, they think they have,
you know,
they have talent on their team now.
You know,
they had a really solid offseason.
They signed a lot of veterans,
proven veterans on their team.
They got arguably the hottest name on the
coaching market, including Kubiak,
who was, you know,
really highly sought after.
after a great season with the Seahawks
winning the Super Bowl,
turning Sam Darnold into a really
competent quarterback.
And they also have a lot of talent
that they've accumulated through picking
highly in the draft for the past couple
of years because they've been terrible.
And they have a veteran quarterback who –
He's been in the league for a while
as a starter.
Like Kirk Cousins.
You don't just stick around and start a
lot of games in the NFL just by
being there.
He's been a good quarterback in the NFL.
So they have the pieces in place,
and they have an anchor defensively in Max
Crosby, as we talked about.
So, yes, they're a good team right now.
They're certainly way better than what
they've been the past couple of years.
And last year, obviously,
they were the worst team in the league.
But I think this will be a very
telling game now that they're going back
to back playing Kansas City and the
Patriots on if they are for real or
if they was losing to Kansas City close
last week,
the beginning of them finding level and
turning into maybe a middle to lower third
team in the NFL.
Coming back down to earth a little bit.
The Raiders we know from over the years.
We're going to find out.
That defense is real, man.
So we're going to see,
and we'll be right back here next week
to break down that game and moving
forward.
This is Straight Cash.
Once again, I'm your host, Marvin Nizam.
We got Jet Stryer and Mr.
Mike Nice in the building.
Fellas, great, great show.
Let's do it again next week.
Looking forward to it.
Maybe Mike will be at more of a
disclosed location.
I know he's recording in secret right now.
