<v Speaker 1>You're waking up to Denver's Morning.
<v Speaker 2>Show with Nina and Josh.
<v Speaker 1>Mix 100.
<v Speaker 2>It's Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh on Mix 100. Josh,
<v Speaker 2>are you proud of me for making it into the
<v Speaker 2>studio today?
<v Speaker 1>I can't believe you made it in this early. You
<v Speaker 1>were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed getting up.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I was at a concert last night, went to
<v Speaker 2>go see Doja Cat at Ball Arena.
<v Speaker 1>At a late night.
<v Speaker 2>It was a late night. I wasn't home and in
<v Speaker 2>bed until after 11, which is so late for us.
<v Speaker 1>For us, that's like 3 in the morning.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly.
<v Speaker 1>Did you have fun, though? Was it a good concert?
<v Speaker 1>It was.
<v Speaker 2>It really was. It was so much fun. She very
<v Speaker 2>much went on theme with her latest album. Which is
<v Speaker 2>kind of like 80s and neon and it was very fun.
<v Speaker 2>But I decided, you know what, it's October, close enough
<v Speaker 2>to Halloween, we're gonna go see Doja Cat. I literally
<v Speaker 2>just dressed up as a whole leopard.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, okay. I like that.
<v Speaker 2>Cat ears and everything.
<v Speaker 1>You do the face paint and everything, too?
<v Speaker 2>Kind of. I did my makeup. I did the leopard
<v Speaker 2>spots on the side of my face.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, so you did the, I'm a cat, duh.
<v Speaker 2>Duh. Yeah, exactly. Throw on some ears and you're good.
<v Speaker 1>I love it. Okay, no, that's cool. I mean, Doja Cat,
<v Speaker 1>I see the theme. You can dress up. And then,
<v Speaker 1>like you said, no one's going to make fun of
<v Speaker 1>you or question your choice because we're in October. Spooky season.
<v Speaker 2>Well, before the show, we went out to dinner. really quick,
<v Speaker 2>just somewhere in Belmar in Lakewood. And we were out
<v Speaker 2>to dinner and we were sitting there and our server
<v Speaker 2>was looking at me like I was this insane person.
<v Speaker 2>And we were all just kind of dressed up, you know,
<v Speaker 2>and yeah, just girls being girls sitting at the table
<v Speaker 2>in our high heels and what's going on, short shorts
<v Speaker 2>and my cat ears and stuff like that. And and
<v Speaker 2>he started and then eventually he started asking questions like,
<v Speaker 2>are you guys going to a show.
<v Speaker 1>It's trick-or-treating? What are you doing? Yeah, and he was like, we're.
<v Speaker 2>Gonna go see Doja Cat. He was like, oh, that
<v Speaker 2>show's tonight. I wanted to go to that show, blah, blah, blah.
<v Speaker 2>And I was like, yeah, it's tonight. And then he
<v Speaker 2>comes back later, like 20 minutes later, Josh. He's like,
<v Speaker 2>I finally understand the cat ears. It took me a while.
<v Speaker 2>Doja Cat.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 2>And I was like, wow. So this guy the whole
<v Speaker 2>time just thought I was an idiot weirdo, like wearing
<v Speaker 2>cat ears, which there's nothing wrong with that. But also,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. He was judging me a little bit.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, who doesn't wear cat ears to dinner? I
<v Speaker 1>don't know. I was going to say you could have
<v Speaker 1>taken those off for dinner, but I guess if you
<v Speaker 1>still have half your face painted. Right.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, you know what? We just got to
<v Speaker 2>do it. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>You got to go all out. Yeah. You owned it.
<v Speaker 1>I love it.
<v Speaker 2>Exactly. So no, I had a great time seeing Doja
<v Speaker 2>Cat last night at Ball Arena. So a lot of
<v Speaker 2>people actually went to that show. We gave away tickets.
<v Speaker 2>Big Rob gave away tickets earlier this week. We gave
<v Speaker 2>away tickets last week. So there was a lot of
<v Speaker 2>shared stories and stuff like that on Mix 100 on
<v Speaker 2>our Instagram.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, we love that. That's awesome. I hope everybody had
<v Speaker 1>a fun, safe time, right? It was.
<v Speaker 2>It was such a good show. And Lotto opened up
<v Speaker 2>for her and it was so much fun.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, really?
<v Speaker 2>Yes. But Josh, just so you know, because I saw
<v Speaker 2>you kind of judging me rolling in a few minutes
<v Speaker 2>later than I normally do this morning. And then you
<v Speaker 2>were like, oh, you made it. Blah, blah, blah. Well,
<v Speaker 2>you want to know why I was late today?
<v Speaker 1>Oh, Yes, absolutely.
<v Speaker 2>It wasn't because I was sleep deprived. It wasn't because
<v Speaker 2>I was out late last night. It was because I
<v Speaker 2>got us breakfast burritos because it's breakfast burrito Friday!
<v Speaker 1>You did not. Are you serious?
<v Speaker 2>I have a bag right here. Filled with breakfast burritos
<v Speaker 2>just for you.
<v Speaker 1>You just made my life. life.
<v Speaker 2>Well, you're welcome.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you.
<v Speaker 2>And don't you ever judge me again.
<v Speaker 1>Never.
<v Speaker 2>I will prove you wrong every time, Josh.
<v Speaker 1>Never, ever. I promise. I promise.
<v Speaker 2>I woke up this morning. I checked my feed and
<v Speaker 2>the first thing that I see is Kourtney Kardashian has
<v Speaker 2>this ongoing feud with Jennifer Lawrence. And I was like, yes. Click,
<v Speaker 2>let me see what's going on.
<v Speaker 1>Give me all the tea.
<v Speaker 2>I want to know. So Jennifer Lawrence, she famously just
<v Speaker 2>loves reality TV. Like, she's just like me. She loves
<v Speaker 2>to watch reality TV, and she loves the Kardashians. She's
<v Speaker 2>talked about it many times. I think she's made a
<v Speaker 2>cameo on the show because she's friends with Kris Jenner, which, like,
<v Speaker 2>made her whole life.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, wow.
<v Speaker 2>And she recently, in an interview, openly talked about which
<v Speaker 2>Kardashian sister she does not like.
<v Speaker 1>Oh.
<v Speaker 2>And Kourtney Kardashian came out of her mouth. So she
<v Speaker 2>said she's very annoying because she has to announce everything
<v Speaker 2>that she's doing. She has to announce to everyone she's vegan.
<v Speaker 2>She has to announce to everyone she's no longer doing outfits.
<v Speaker 2>She just has to make an announcement about everything, and
<v Speaker 2>she says that is very annoying.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, yeah, you could just do it.
<v Speaker 2>That's what she said.
<v Speaker 1>Just do it.
<v Speaker 2>Do whatever you're going to do. Why does it have
<v Speaker 2>to be such a big deal?
<v Speaker 1>Kind of on J-Law's side for this. Right, exactly.
<v Speaker 2>I think a lot of people are. But then Kourtney
<v Speaker 2>Kardashian heard about this, and she totally snapped back. She
<v Speaker 2>was like, She's acting like she's one of our sisters.
<v Speaker 2>And if she wants annoying Courtney, I can be annoying
<v Speaker 2>and I'll slap her like a sister. Go ahead, join
<v Speaker 2>the family. And like, yeah, yeah, exactly. It was crazy.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, they're fighting right now.
<v Speaker 1>Guess she's like I'll cut you no like good night what.
<v Speaker 2>The heck but the funny thing is that Jennifer Lawrence
<v Speaker 2>when she said this she did it in an interview
<v Speaker 2>and then Courtney later after reacting to it already because
<v Speaker 2>she just heard about it yeah she watched that interview
<v Speaker 2>and she watched that clip of Jennifer Lawrence talking about
<v Speaker 2>her and she goes oh actually it wasn't as bad
<v Speaker 2>as I thought it was um so I guess I
<v Speaker 2>didn't need to say all of that but.
<v Speaker 1>That's still overreact yeah I know crazy crazy.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah so she totally backtracked and overreacted to that so that's.
<v Speaker 1>Just good for tv you know what good for tv
<v Speaker 1>exactly well joe rogan uh a lot of people like
<v Speaker 1>him a lot of people don't like him but he
<v Speaker 1>has just renewed his multi-year agreement on spotify for his
<v Speaker 1>podcast which extends the uh partnership that began in like
<v Speaker 1>2020 i believe and the wall street journal has reported
<v Speaker 1>that The earnings that he has made.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, gosh. How much money is he making?
<v Speaker 1>Nina, we need to get into some kind of Joe
<v Speaker 1>Rogan podcasting because he has made an estimated over $ 250
<v Speaker 1>million in just that amount of time. So a little
<v Speaker 1>over six years now just podcasting.
<v Speaker 2>Wow, that's crazy.
<v Speaker 1>It's well on the way to $ 300 million, and then
<v Speaker 1>he just re-upped it, so it'll probably go over $ 300
<v Speaker 1>million in the next couple years here.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, totally.
<v Speaker 1>He says, the partnership with Spotify has been an amazing fit. Yeah, duh, obviously.
<v Speaker 1>You're making so much money. He is ranked as the
<v Speaker 1>top podcast on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts, so obviously
<v Speaker 1>that makes sense. It's a lot of ad revenue.
<v Speaker 2>It's a popular one.
<v Speaker 1>My gosh, like, I didn't know you could make, like,
<v Speaker 1>I know he's rich, I understand, he does a lot
<v Speaker 1>of stuff, he was a stand-up comedian for a very
<v Speaker 1>long time, I understand that.
<v Speaker 2>And this is also the guy that was doing Fear Factor, like,
<v Speaker 2>making people eat worms and stuff.
<v Speaker 1>I forgot about that, I loved Fear Factor. I don't
<v Speaker 1>know if, I could probably eat a worm, but those
<v Speaker 1>ones where you had to get in, like, that see-through
<v Speaker 1>coffin and have all the spiders crawl over you. Ugh!
<v Speaker 1>That would take me out.
<v Speaker 2>I can't do that.
<v Speaker 1>Well, anyway, we need to get into Joe Rogan podcasting
<v Speaker 1>because I want to make 300 mil.
<v Speaker 2>Well, we're not quite making $ 300 million, but we technically
<v Speaker 2>have our show podcast up. It's on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
<v Speaker 1>That's how we're getting close. We're right behind Joe Rogan.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly. We're second in line, actually. Josh, as life
<v Speaker 2>continues to get just more and more expensive, people are
<v Speaker 2>trying to figure out what are we going to do
<v Speaker 2>about all this debt that we're accumulating?
<v Speaker 1>We have a lot. A lot.
<v Speaker 2>A lot, for sure. And there was a woman who
<v Speaker 2>had a lot of gambling debt. Whoopsies. And she ended
<v Speaker 2>up marrying 12 different men to help her pay down
<v Speaker 2>her debt.
<v Speaker 1>Yep. Yep.
<v Speaker 2>Insane.
<v Speaker 1>That's wild.
<v Speaker 2>Which, that story alone reminded me, right now I am watching,
<v Speaker 2>do you remember the show Tales from the Crypt? No. No?
<v Speaker 1>No.
<v Speaker 2>Old HBO show? It was like 90s back in the day.
<v Speaker 2>It was kind of scary.
<v Speaker 1>I wasn't allowed to watch HBO back in the day, Nina.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I forgot.
<v Speaker 2>You're one of those sheltered kids.
<v Speaker 1>My bad. Hey, hold on.
<v Speaker 2>Ouch. Well, you mentioned the other day that you were
<v Speaker 2>not allowed to watch. And that show, honestly, for anyone
<v Speaker 2>that does remember that show, it was like each episode
<v Speaker 2>was a different horror story. And it had this creepy
<v Speaker 2>little skeleton guy. And he was funny sometimes, but he
<v Speaker 2>was very creepy. This was not a show for kids,
<v Speaker 2>but I was abnormal and got to watch whatever I wanted.
<v Speaker 1>You're lucky.
<v Speaker 2>And so, I mean, yes and no.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you're right.
<v Speaker 2>I am who I am today in both positive and
<v Speaker 2>negative ways because of that.
<v Speaker 1>Because of what you watched. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That makes sense.
<v Speaker 2>But there was an episode, Tales from the Crypt, that
<v Speaker 2>I was watching the other night because my husband and
<v Speaker 2>I are re-watching that show on HBO.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Because, you know, it's spooky season, but it reminded me
<v Speaker 2>of an episode. It was the same kind of thing.
<v Speaker 2>This guy just trying to get rich. He was marrying
<v Speaker 2>all these women and then, you know, nixing them. Because, again,
<v Speaker 2>this was a haunted kind of horror show. But then
<v Speaker 2>they came alive and were zombies and ate him, so...
<v Speaker 2>It didn't really work out for him.
<v Speaker 1>Karma, jeez.
<v Speaker 2>I hope it works out for this other woman, though,
<v Speaker 2>in real life who did marry 12 men to get
<v Speaker 2>out of her gambling debt. Do you know how much
<v Speaker 2>debt she was in?
<v Speaker 1>$ 300, 000. Oh my gosh, from gambling? That's a lot. Oh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you can lose that in one night, Nina. Oh, oh,
<v Speaker 1>oh really? Oh yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Alright, okay, so I'm over here watching all the horror
<v Speaker 2>shows as a kid, but you, you're gambling on the
<v Speaker 2>other hand?
<v Speaker 1>I'm gambling, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, we might need to talk about this, Josh.
<v Speaker 1>I need help.
<v Speaker 2>Three things you need to know before you go into
<v Speaker 2>the office today, like breakfast dates are becoming more popular
<v Speaker 2>than your average dinner dates now.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like they'd be a little less expensive, maybe?
<v Speaker 2>Well, that is one of the reasons why they are
<v Speaker 2>becoming more popular. Yeah, it's definitely more affordable. Going out
<v Speaker 2>for breakfast... Way cheaper than dinner and drinks and possibly
<v Speaker 2>dessert and everything like that. So typically, yeah, it's more affordable.
<v Speaker 2>Daters are also saying it feels less stressful. You know,
<v Speaker 2>just going out for breakfast, it's a little bit more casual.
<v Speaker 1>Casual, right?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yes, exactly. And then on top of that, it's
<v Speaker 2>an easy out if the date isn't going well. Just because, like,
<v Speaker 2>you're there for breakfast and that's it. And okay, bye.
<v Speaker 1>You can do that real quick. Just, you know what,
<v Speaker 1>let me get that. Breakfast burrito for to go. There
<v Speaker 1>we go. Exactly. I like that. Okay, that's actually nice.
<v Speaker 2>And then on the other hand, if the date is
<v Speaker 2>going well, then you have all day to hang out
<v Speaker 2>and continue on if you want to.
<v Speaker 1>Keep getting those bottomless mimosas, right?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly.
<v Speaker 1>I like that. I mean, I love breakfast food. I
<v Speaker 1>love all breakfast food, any way, shape, or form. So
<v Speaker 1>I'm in on this. I think that's a really good idea.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if I've ever done A first breakfast date, though.
<v Speaker 1>I've done a lot of breakfast dates in my life,
<v Speaker 1>but I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>If I've done a first one. Well, they are becoming
<v Speaker 2>more and more popular. So anyone out there who is dating,
<v Speaker 2>I know it can be tough, but try it out.
<v Speaker 2>Try out a breakfast date every once in a while.
<v Speaker 2>Mix it up, you know?
<v Speaker 1>There you go. I like it. All right. Well, this
<v Speaker 1>I wanted to talk about simply because it is the
<v Speaker 1>funniest thing I've ever heard. So beavers, they're in the news.
<v Speaker 1>They are doing some damage to some places. A sign erected.
<v Speaker 1>to alert the public about beaver activity in southern Poland
<v Speaker 1>has been destroyed. It's been chewed down by beavers.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my goodness.
<v Speaker 1>It's the most ironic thing ever. There's a forestry district
<v Speaker 1>up there dedicated to wildlife, okay? However, they did have
<v Speaker 1>a sign up there and it was a wooden sign,
<v Speaker 1>which is so ironic. Why would you make a wooden
<v Speaker 1>sign for a beaver habitat? I just don't understand. But
<v Speaker 1>the sign was displaying... Warning, damaged caused by beavers all over.
<v Speaker 1>So essentially like look out for trees, look out for
<v Speaker 1>things that could fall. Beavers be chewing. So they said
<v Speaker 1>the beavers didn't want you to be warned. So they
<v Speaker 1>ended up cutting down the hazardous post. And now we
<v Speaker 1>don't know what to do. Make it metal.
<v Speaker 2>Make it a metal post.
<v Speaker 1>What are you talking about?
<v Speaker 2>Well, listen, I understand if it is in a habitat,
<v Speaker 2>you don't want to throw in a bunch of metal
<v Speaker 2>and other materials that don't necessarily belong there.
<v Speaker 1>That's a good point.
<v Speaker 2>But the fact that the beavers did start to chew
<v Speaker 2>on the sign, maybe you might need to consider it.
<v Speaker 1>I just love it. It's adorable. They said Poland's beaver
<v Speaker 1>population was once nearly extinct in the 1930s. However, they rebounded,
<v Speaker 1>and there's now almost 200,000 beavers following their reintroduction, and
<v Speaker 1>so we just love that. We love the beavers being okay. Aw,
<v Speaker 1>the beavers. Chew away.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, go ahead. So something a little bit depressing, Josh.
<v Speaker 2>Sorry to bring it up, but last night was the
<v Speaker 2>last 6.30 sunset of the year.
<v Speaker 1>Don't tell me that.
<v Speaker 2>No. It's all downhill from here until March of next year.
<v Speaker 2>Sunsets are just going to continue to get later and later,
<v Speaker 2>but yeah, the last sunset. at 6.30 yesterday, and I
<v Speaker 2>totally missed that.
<v Speaker 1>That sounds so early, by the way, too. 6.30 sunset. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, it's just going to get later and later
<v Speaker 2>and darker and darker. But didn't you say you liked that?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I was going to say I'm not actually that
<v Speaker 1>affected by it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I really like it.
<v Speaker 2>Everyone else is all sad and depressed about it.
<v Speaker 1>They can be. Let me have my moment, please. All right.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, we'll let Josh have his moment. Fine. You are
<v Speaker 2>hitting the roads out there. Are you speeding?
<v Speaker 1>Don't do that.
<v Speaker 2>Don't do that. I see you out there every day
<v Speaker 2>just on the roads. It gets crazier and crazier out
<v Speaker 2>here in Denver, I swear. And part of the reason
<v Speaker 2>might be because of the app Waze. You know Waze.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, yeah, I use Waze. I like it.
<v Speaker 2>You can use Google Maps, Apple Maps. There's also Waze,
<v Speaker 2>which is just another app for driving around, giving you directions.
<v Speaker 2>But Waze is a little bit different because it definitely
<v Speaker 2>notifies you of a lot of extra things.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's a little more interactive.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, for sure. And one of the things that notifies
<v Speaker 2>you on are like police speed checks.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Things like that.
<v Speaker 1>Cop ahead.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly. And people are now using it kind of
<v Speaker 2>in a negative way.
<v Speaker 1>Well, it's kind of like they're It's like the fuzz buster.
<v Speaker 1>That's what they're using. It helps them get past the
<v Speaker 1>speed traps, if you will. A new study found that
<v Speaker 1>speeding has dropped dramatically once Waze flagged nearby police enforcement.
<v Speaker 1>The researchers clocked almost 10,000 vehicles across 33 sites using
<v Speaker 1>a laser speed gun. Before an alert appeared, about 55%
<v Speaker 1>of those drivers exceeded the limit. Now, afterward, that figure, Nina,
<v Speaker 1>fell to 20%.
<v Speaker 2>Which, that's a.
<v Speaker 1>Massive drop off.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and that's a good thing, right?
<v Speaker 1>Well, yeah, it's good, but you're also just.
<v Speaker 2>People slowing down, but they're only doing it.
<v Speaker 1>For like the 400 yards that the cop is there.
<v Speaker 2>And then they're speeding past again after that.
<v Speaker 1>Like right afterwards, so... It's interesting because this study actually
<v Speaker 1>says that drivers who have successfully avoided tickets after seeing
<v Speaker 1>the alerts feel more invincible. Like they're like, oh, girl.
<v Speaker 2>I got away with it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, totally.
<v Speaker 2>This is the trick.
<v Speaker 1>So over time, potentially speeding more freely elsewhere. Waze actually
<v Speaker 1>has like 150 million monthly users. Wow. I'm one of
<v Speaker 1>them as well. Wow. I will say I kind of
<v Speaker 1>have a lead foot.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>A little bit.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, we've talked about this a little bit. You have
<v Speaker 2>had a speeding ticket or two. Actually, no, you haven't.
<v Speaker 2>You've gotten out of all of them.
<v Speaker 1>Pretty darn good at getting out of them. I don't try.
<v Speaker 1>I don't try to get out of them.
<v Speaker 2>I hate you for that.
<v Speaker 1>That being said, though, I have slowed down a lot
<v Speaker 1>since getting a truck. I have had some faster cars before.
<v Speaker 1>And not that trucks aren't fast. They're actually pretty lightweight cars.
<v Speaker 1>You can kind of go pretty fast with them.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>It's just, I don't know. It's bigger. It takes longer
<v Speaker 1>to stop. I want to be safer now that I'm
<v Speaker 1>older and more mature. I think my frontal lobe finally closed, too.
<v Speaker 2>Look at you, more mature.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm slowing down a little bit.
<v Speaker 2>We love that, Josh.
<v Speaker 1>But sometimes 45 miles an hour feels so slow.
<v Speaker 2>I know. It can, but it's, you know, those post-it
<v Speaker 2>speed limits, they are there for a reason.
<v Speaker 1>I know. I know, Mom. I know. Okay. Get there,
<v Speaker 1>you know, point A, point B safely.
<v Speaker 2>Making sure you know.
<v Speaker 1>I understand. It's just one of those things. I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Speeding is definitely an issue, though, in Denver, I think.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, I-25's like the freaking Autobahn. Yeah. Like, that left lane,
<v Speaker 1>there is no speed limit there. I just saw someone... Actually,
<v Speaker 1>there is a speed limit, by the way. I just
<v Speaker 1>saw a news story saying someone was arrested for going
<v Speaker 1>over 100 miles an hour... On I-25. You can't do that, people.
<v Speaker 2>That's crazy. No.
<v Speaker 1>Come on. Not at all. Not at all.
<v Speaker 2>We were actually talking about, wasn't it yesterday? It was
<v Speaker 2>off the air. And we were talking about driving and
<v Speaker 2>different driving styles. And Denver, again, it's just such a
<v Speaker 2>melting pot that I think people who move here from here,
<v Speaker 2>they're everywhere. They bring their driving style here with them.
<v Speaker 2>And it's the wild, wild west out there.
<v Speaker 1>Texas and California.
<v Speaker 2>Yes.
<v Speaker 1>We get the Texans. We get the Californians. That's what
<v Speaker 1>we get. Yes. And we get more car accidents in Colorado,
<v Speaker 1>which is awesome.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>We love it. No, I agree. I don't know. Like,
<v Speaker 1>do you find yourself speeding or do you usually follow
<v Speaker 1>the rules? Be honest.
<v Speaker 2>I have a lead foot also.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 2>I have not gotten away with all those speeding tickets
<v Speaker 2>that you have gotten away with. I had to pay
<v Speaker 2>for those.
<v Speaker 1>You cannot get mad at me then. Oh, so you
<v Speaker 1>get caught and you don't get away.
<v Speaker 2>No, that's why I'm mad because I always got caught
<v Speaker 2>and you didn't.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I think I told you off the air too.
<v Speaker 1>The only time I've actually been ticketed and it was
<v Speaker 1>not let go with a warning or whatever, it wasn't
<v Speaker 1>even for speeding. It was for like expired plates. But
<v Speaker 1>the expired plates, I'm good at this. I don't let
<v Speaker 1>that go. The expired plates were in 2020. I could
<v Speaker 1>not get to the DMV to re-up them. I couldn't
<v Speaker 1>do it. They were like, hey, the appointment was like
<v Speaker 1>five months out. And I was like, well, crud like.
<v Speaker 2>This sucks i have the appointment like what do you
<v Speaker 2>want me.
<v Speaker 1>To do so i get pulled over and i'm like
<v Speaker 1>i'm so sorry like i totally understand i get it
<v Speaker 1>you know like it's really hard and the cop goes
<v Speaker 1>yeah absolutely i totally get that that'll be 250 bucks
<v Speaker 1>and i was like.
<v Speaker 2>Oh come on you got caught with it it's so
<v Speaker 2>bad that's such a bummer i can't believe they did
<v Speaker 2>that to you during 2020 and all of that you
<v Speaker 2>had the reservation booked you had the appointment booked i
<v Speaker 2>could have showed her That should have done something for you.
<v Speaker 1>Nope, Miss Officer got me.
<v Speaker 2>No bueno, no bueno. Nope. So Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey,
<v Speaker 2>they're already having issues and they haven't even moved into
<v Speaker 2>their new house in Cleveland yet.
<v Speaker 1>It's not good. They're moving to Cleveland?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so they bought a house in Cleveland because that's
<v Speaker 2>where Travis is from. Beautiful city, beautiful. And he wanted
<v Speaker 2>to be closer to his family. I actually visited Cleveland
<v Speaker 2>this summer and it wasn't the worst place ever. I
<v Speaker 2>know you think Cleveland, Ohio, and you're like, meh, Ohio.
<v Speaker 1>I've driven through it. I guess I'm not like.
<v Speaker 2>It's like right on Lake Erie, and the house that
<v Speaker 2>they bought is like lakefront, beautiful property.
<v Speaker 1>Sure, it's stunning.
<v Speaker 2>You know?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So... Because they bought this lakefront property and anyone on
<v Speaker 2>a boat could just go on by and be like,
<v Speaker 2>that's Taylor and Travis's house. They are wanting to put
<v Speaker 2>up this huge fence on their property and neighbors are
<v Speaker 2>coming up with every reason for them not to. They're like,
<v Speaker 2>there's a lot of deer in the area and the
<v Speaker 2>deer are going to get impaled by your fence. They're
<v Speaker 2>literally making stuff up. It's weird.
<v Speaker 1>They just want to snoop. They want to... Cleveland has
<v Speaker 1>nothing going on, so they're like, oh my god, Taylor
<v Speaker 1>and Travis are here.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, you would think they would be a little
<v Speaker 2>bit more excited because, yeah, I'm sorry, Cleveland. But it
<v Speaker 2>really does sound like they are surrounded by a bunch
<v Speaker 2>of haters.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, look, she's going to spend one winter there
<v Speaker 1>and say, I never want to. want to go back
<v Speaker 1>because it is freezing.
<v Speaker 2>That's literally what everyone is saying. They're like, they're going
<v Speaker 2>to live here for six months and then they're going
<v Speaker 2>to leave.
<v Speaker 1>I just remember there was one basketball player. I can't
<v Speaker 1>remember who it was, but he played for the Cavs.
<v Speaker 1>And then he left. He went to another team. And
<v Speaker 1>they were like, you know, what made you want to leave?
<v Speaker 1>He goes, I lived in Cleveland. And I'm like, oh.
<v Speaker 1>Poor guy. That's all I think about every time. So
<v Speaker 1>I don't, there's no way she's going to. Usually you
<v Speaker 1>move where, like, the wife's parents are.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Go get a nice, beautiful, wooded front property in Pennsylvania.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I was going to say, she's from Pennsylvania.
<v Speaker 1>Zane lives there. He loves it from One Direction, I'm sure.
<v Speaker 2>No, they chose Cleveland. I don't know. It is what
<v Speaker 2>it is.
<v Speaker 1>They're going to be there one day a year.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I know. And their neighbors already are just not
<v Speaker 2>happy at them.
<v Speaker 1>That's crazy. All right, well. I love this guy, so
<v Speaker 1>I want to talk about him. Alex Warren is going
<v Speaker 1>to host the 2026 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
<v Speaker 2>Nice.
<v Speaker 1>I was obsessed with this show, or I guess this
<v Speaker 1>award ceremony back in the day, because I always wanted
<v Speaker 1>to get slimed.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, we all did.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's the coolest thing ever. I still would
<v Speaker 1>love to. I've never been able to. Never won a
<v Speaker 1>Kids' Choice Award, unfortunately. But Alex Warren will host the
<v Speaker 1>39th Annual Kids' Choice Awards on November 14th. It's going
<v Speaker 1>to be airing in Los Angeles on Nickelodeon, obviously. And
<v Speaker 1>it's gonna be streaming on Paramount +, which I like.
<v Speaker 1>And kind of going with your story, Taylor Swift, she
<v Speaker 1>leads all individual nominees with six different nominations, followed by
<v Speaker 1>our girl Ari, Ariana Grande, and Sabrina Carpenter, and then
<v Speaker 1>there's a bunch of others there as well. Alex Warren,
<v Speaker 1>I actually had a chance to interview him last year
<v Speaker 1>when his Ordinary song was just blowing up.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>The nicest, kindest dude ever. Got to meet his wife.
<v Speaker 1>She was in the elevator with us, Cover, and she
<v Speaker 1>is also amazing. The first thing she goes, she goes...
<v Speaker 1>you guys live here. Where's the nearest target? And I
<v Speaker 1>was like, that is so real. I love you for that.
<v Speaker 1>That is awesome. They're the cutest little couple. And so
<v Speaker 1>that's cool. I'll be watching that. I like Alex. So
<v Speaker 1>I'll be watching him. Okay.
<v Speaker 2>What date is that in November.
<v Speaker 1>November 14th coming up here. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>All right. And Prince Harry said that when he and
<v Speaker 2>Meghan Markle moved to Canada for just a couple of
<v Speaker 2>months at the end of 2019, um, He was severely depressed.
<v Speaker 2>He said that his life before they moved was very stressful,
<v Speaker 2>and then he finally stepped away from all his royal duties.
<v Speaker 2>There was just all sorts of stuff that came at
<v Speaker 2>him from that. And he said that the stress was gone,
<v Speaker 2>but at the same time, it all hit him at once.
<v Speaker 2>And the fact that they were living in Canada, he says,
<v Speaker 2>just didn't really help. So what I took away from
<v Speaker 2>that story is that the USA is way better than Canada.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sorry I said what I said.
<v Speaker 1>Well, yeah, absolutely. He's probably like, there's too many geese here.
<v Speaker 1>Way too many geese. I hate it here. I hate it. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, it's freezing cold there. I've been to some parts,
<v Speaker 1>and it's just not, you know what, it's fine. The
<v Speaker 1>people up north, you're great. I will say Vancouver is
<v Speaker 1>one of my favorite places in the world. It is
<v Speaker 1>beautiful there. I'm sure it is. That's the West Coast
<v Speaker 1>right there.
<v Speaker 2>It's on my list to visit, but I will only visit.
<v Speaker 1>And Banff.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Banff National Park, two very, very beautiful places. Other than that,
<v Speaker 1>it's just a bunch of people apologizing. Oh, sorry. Oh
<v Speaker 1>my gosh.
<v Speaker 2>Josh, we talked about a little bit of trouble we've gotten,
<v Speaker 2>both of us have gotten in before with speeding tickets
<v Speaker 2>and things of that nature. And the one ticket that
<v Speaker 2>you've ever actually gotten was because of expired tags during
<v Speaker 2>2020 of all years.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, I wasn't being negligent or lazy. I was trying
<v Speaker 1>to get my darn tags and I just couldn't because
<v Speaker 1>everything was so backed up during the whole COVID and
<v Speaker 1>everything like that. Yes. I did get pulled over and
<v Speaker 1>they were like, oh, we're so sorry. That sucks. I
<v Speaker 1>know you're in a bad position. It's a $ 250 fine.
<v Speaker 2>But like too bad, pay us. Okay.
<v Speaker 1>Sounds good. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>And that reminded me, I was like, oh yeah, I'm
<v Speaker 2>waiting for my tags right now. And it's kind of
<v Speaker 2>a weird situation at the moment. And I am starting
<v Speaker 2>to worry that maybe it's not the city's fault. Maybe
<v Speaker 2>it's not the government scamming me. Like maybe I'm actually
<v Speaker 2>being scammed right now and it has to do with
<v Speaker 2>my vehicle tags.
<v Speaker 1>Is it? Did you not go, like, the DMV?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, so here's what happened was.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, boy. What'd you do?
<v Speaker 2>I don't think I did anything wrong, and I'm still
<v Speaker 2>waiting to see. But I needed to get new tags.
<v Speaker 2>It was just time for my yearly registration, right? And
<v Speaker 2>so I pay the hundred-something dollars, right, for my new
<v Speaker 2>tags because I knew it was coming up. Pay it.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 2>And then I don't know about you, Josh, but do
<v Speaker 2>you have, when you get mail to your house, do
<v Speaker 2>you have that e-mail thing? a thing set up where
<v Speaker 2>you can see your mail in your email ahead of time.
<v Speaker 1>No, I don't do that, but I know what you're
<v Speaker 1>talking about there.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, well, I have that at my house. And so
<v Speaker 2>I got an email showing me that my tags were
<v Speaker 2>coming in the mail because I had just paid for them. Okay, good.
<v Speaker 2>I need those tags. So I got that email, and
<v Speaker 2>then the tags did not show up in the mail
<v Speaker 2>that day. But I was like, eh, sometimes it's a
<v Speaker 2>day or two late.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, for sure.
<v Speaker 2>Next day, it's not there. I'm still not worried. But
<v Speaker 2>then the next day, it's still not there. And I'm like, huh.
<v Speaker 2>This is a little peculiar because they are supposed to
<v Speaker 2>be in my mailbox and on my car now. And
<v Speaker 2>I'm going to out myself right now, but we're nine
<v Speaker 2>days into October and my tags expired at the end
<v Speaker 2>of September. So, but I paid for them.
<v Speaker 1>You just alerted every cop right now. No, I paid
<v Speaker 1>for them. It's paid for. Okay.
<v Speaker 2>It is paid for already.
<v Speaker 1>Okay. What did you use then? How are you not?
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it was through the city, I think. And
<v Speaker 2>I got a confirmation email and everything. But the fact
<v Speaker 2>that it hasn't come through physically in my mail and
<v Speaker 2>I don't have those tags, I've been getting worried. And
<v Speaker 2>now it has been way too long. And so over
<v Speaker 2>the weekend, I just checked on my email, my other confirmation.
<v Speaker 2>But on Sunday, I had to go through the whole
<v Speaker 2>process again and just ask for new tags. But get this, Josh.
<v Speaker 2>I had to pay for replacement tags again. Because they
<v Speaker 2>never even came in the mail in.
<v Speaker 1>The first place. They charged you twice now? So you're
<v Speaker 1>double paying.
<v Speaker 2>Essentially. It was less.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my gosh. Okay, who cares? You're still paying.
<v Speaker 2>For it, though. It was like all these processing fees
<v Speaker 2>and whatever. What are you processing? It was only $ 5.
<v Speaker 2>But I still had to pay five more dollars. And
<v Speaker 2>I still, Josh, do not have my tags.
<v Speaker 1>So are you going to do it again?
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to do it. No, I'm not going
<v Speaker 2>to do it again. Because I've already done it twice now.
<v Speaker 2>And at this point, I'm like, I don't know what
<v Speaker 2>to do. I don't know what to do anymore. Like,
<v Speaker 2>do I have to physically go into a DMV? Like,
<v Speaker 2>if you work at the DMV, if you work for
<v Speaker 2>the city or anything like that, can you please text
<v Speaker 2>us and, like, help me? 303-691-1MIX. Because I'm at a
<v Speaker 2>point now where I'm, like, essentially I am. If a
<v Speaker 2>police officer were to pull me over, yes, my tags
<v Speaker 2>say it's expired. Luckily, I have the confirmation email, so
<v Speaker 2>I think I would be okay. But, like, I'm just
<v Speaker 2>waiting and waiting and waiting for these tags to show up.
<v Speaker 1>That's something I've never dealt with before. I would say
<v Speaker 1>for you personally next time, you can get your tags
<v Speaker 1>at like a Safeway or a King Soopers.
<v Speaker 2>Really?
<v Speaker 1>You can get your tags for next year right then
<v Speaker 1>and there. They'll print it off right there for you.
<v Speaker 2>In the grocery store.
<v Speaker 1>That's what I do because it's just way quicker. And
<v Speaker 1>then I have it physically right after I leave. It's
<v Speaker 1>the same price, so you're still going to have to
<v Speaker 1>pay a couple hundred for it or whatever. But that
<v Speaker 1>being said, you'll get it right then and there.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't know you could do that.
<v Speaker 1>I would definitely suggest that. It's a very quick and
<v Speaker 1>easy way, and then you're not waiting in the mail.
<v Speaker 1>And then, like, also, I mean, someone's just walking around
<v Speaker 1>with your new tags on their vehicle.
<v Speaker 2>No, I kind of think that might have happened. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I have a doorbell camera, and I haven't seen anyone
<v Speaker 2>take it, but, like, I wonder if someone stole my tags.
<v Speaker 2>out of my mailbox or something.
<v Speaker 1>That would be terrible.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what to do. Free tags!
<v Speaker 1>No!
<v Speaker 2>Someone please help me. If you know what's going on,
<v Speaker 2>you know the next steps that I should do. Because
<v Speaker 2>I've already paid for the original tags as well as.
<v Speaker 1>The re-up.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah!
<v Speaker 1>Who do you call for that?
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Call Colorado. Hello?
<v Speaker 2>Hello, Colorado. Please help me. Text me if you have
<v Speaker 2>any advice. 303-691-1MIX. So we know Celine Dion. She is
<v Speaker 2>going through a residency right now in France. She's so
<v Speaker 2>excited to be back up on stage performing again after
<v Speaker 2>being sick with stiff person syndrome. But she's feeling okay
<v Speaker 2>right now. And we love to see all the videos
<v Speaker 2>that are coming out of France of her performing. But
<v Speaker 2>One video the other day didn't go so well. Oh, no.
<v Speaker 1>What happened?
<v Speaker 2>She ended up falling. She slipped and fell on the stage.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, jeez.
<v Speaker 2>But hold on, hold on. Like, the pro she is,
<v Speaker 2>she did get back up. She didn't hurt herself. Okay, good.
<v Speaker 2>She was totally fine. But it's kind of funny because
<v Speaker 2>I was like, I have to see this video. Like,
<v Speaker 2>I hope she's okay. I was concerned. And so I
<v Speaker 2>watched the video, and she fell because she was too
<v Speaker 2>into the music. She got too into it, Josh. She
<v Speaker 2>was singing, and she didn't have any, like, choreography set
<v Speaker 2>in place.
<v Speaker 1>Of course, Celine doesn't need that.
<v Speaker 2>She was just doing her own thing, right? And she
<v Speaker 2>was like hopping on one foot a few times, wearing heels,
<v Speaker 2>and she fell. Like, girl, what did you think was
<v Speaker 2>going to happen?
<v Speaker 1>So she's just bebopping around and she's... You know what? Okay,
<v Speaker 1>that's like all women in elevated surfaces. It just does
<v Speaker 1>not go well. So that's funny that she was just
<v Speaker 1>jumping around and... ate it.
<v Speaker 2>She did.
<v Speaker 1>She did. Luckily, the only thing that hurt was her ego, right?
<v Speaker 2>Yes, exactly. So she's doing just fine.
<v Speaker 1>You know what? I'm glad she's back, though, because she
<v Speaker 1>has been through the ringer. I mean, seriously, that poor
<v Speaker 1>woman with the voice of an angel. I'm glad she's
<v Speaker 1>back singing.
<v Speaker 2>That's awesome. Me too.
<v Speaker 1>Well, Halle Berry, she has been in the news a
<v Speaker 1>lot lately because she's had to go against abuse allegations
<v Speaker 1>with her children, which is wild but her 18 year
<v Speaker 1>old doll a daughter named nala has filed the court
<v Speaker 1>statement defending her mother against these allegations made by her
<v Speaker 1>ex-husband so martinez filed a petition seeking a temporary restraining
<v Speaker 1>order claiming that barry essentially physically abused their 13-year-old son,
<v Speaker 1>which is horrific, by the way. If that actually has happened,
<v Speaker 1>that is a huge deal. Nala stated that she never
<v Speaker 1>witnessed any violent act towards anyone, though. She said, Halle
<v Speaker 1>Berry is a loving and devoted parent. She did, however, say,
<v Speaker 1>remember Oliver beating up my father in a driveway when
<v Speaker 1>I was little. Ooh! That, complete 180 degrees right there, right?
<v Speaker 1>But that being said, Martinez denies those allegations and saying,
<v Speaker 1>I am not a perpetrator to violence. I would never
<v Speaker 1>hurt our child, which is also something that Halle Berry
<v Speaker 1>said earlier in a statement as well.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, she totally has denied everything too.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so this is a very weird thing. Nala went
<v Speaker 1>on to say that she feels like an afterthought with
<v Speaker 1>Martinez and that the efforts are just to destroy her mother.
<v Speaker 1>So this could be, I mean, those poor famous people,
<v Speaker 1>sometimes they have people just come after them because they're
<v Speaker 1>jealous or hate them or whatever like that, you know? Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>could be a money thing. Could be something like that.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not sure that they're dealing with and you know,
<v Speaker 2>they're not even currently together. I think they're in the
<v Speaker 2>process of divorce or already divorced. So I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Who knows? This is a lot of, he said, she
<v Speaker 2>said back and forth. Um, But, you know, a daughter
<v Speaker 2>advocating for her mom, it's like never in a million
<v Speaker 2>years moms sometimes think, like, my daughter wouldn't be the
<v Speaker 2>one to stand up for me. But then they grow up,
<v Speaker 2>and then they do, and that's kind of cool to.
<v Speaker 1>See, too. It's a good thing to see. This is
<v Speaker 1>a very messy situation. But I think with a daughter
<v Speaker 1>coming out and saying this, maybe that will help Hallie's case.
<v Speaker 1>It may.
<v Speaker 2>It just may.
<v Speaker 1>It'll keep you updated. Mm-hmm.
<v Speaker 2>And speaking of a messy situation, so Crystal Hefner, Hugh
<v Speaker 2>Hefner's widow, heard about a new movie that is being
<v Speaker 2>launched about her late husband, and Jessica Biel was going
<v Speaker 2>to play Crystal in this movie, and Crystal herself heard
<v Speaker 2>about it and ended up sending Jessica a message begging
<v Speaker 2>her not to do this role. She says, now here's
<v Speaker 2>just a little disclaimer here, she says that she experienced sexual,
<v Speaker 2>emotional trauma financial, and physical abuse during her marriage to Hugh.
<v Speaker 2>And she claims that numerous other women have made other allegations,
<v Speaker 2>which I have heard the rumors of these allegations and stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Totally.
<v Speaker 2>But, you know, he is no longer with us, so
<v Speaker 2>it's so hard to go forward with cases like this.
<v Speaker 2>But Crystal is standing strong for herself and these other
<v Speaker 2>women who have made these allegations. And she is asking
<v Speaker 2>Jessica Biel straight on, please don't do this film.
<v Speaker 1>So... This is, first of all, it is super tough
<v Speaker 1>because he is not here.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>But that being said, didn't we already kind of know this? Like,
<v Speaker 1>it's Hugh Hefner. Like, he obviously, you know, started this
<v Speaker 1>whole thing with the Playboy Mansion. And I'm sure, with
<v Speaker 1>that being said, he probably didn't treat the women there
<v Speaker 1>very respectfully. I mean, let's just be honest. And also,
<v Speaker 1>when he started this, wasn't it in the 60s? Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>It was just different.
<v Speaker 2>It was a different time, which doesn't excuse all of
<v Speaker 2>that behavior at all.
<v Speaker 1>But he could get away with a lot more.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it was just unfortunate that he was able to
<v Speaker 2>get away with it for so long. But yeah, Crystal
<v Speaker 2>Hefner now is just trying to stand strong and advocate
<v Speaker 2>for it. And she's saying, Jessica Biel, please don't do it.
<v Speaker 1>Well, poor girl. I mean, I'm sure she dealt with
<v Speaker 1>so much and that's just excruciatingly painful. So good for
<v Speaker 1>her for standing up. I like that, actually. Yeah, absolutely.
<v Speaker 2>You got to stand up for yourself. Happy Breakfast Burrito
<v Speaker 2>Friday from Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh. Breakfast
<v Speaker 2>Burrito Friday, it's just something that I made up years ago, Josh,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm just sharing it with everyone here on Mix 100.
<v Speaker 2>You made it to Friday. You made it through the
<v Speaker 2>work week. So Treat yourself with breakfast burritos.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you got to celebrate it. And also on top
<v Speaker 1>of that, no one in their right mind has ever said, ew, no,
<v Speaker 1>breakfast burritos. No one.
<v Speaker 2>No one.
<v Speaker 1>No one's ever done that. And it's just a fun
<v Speaker 1>way that now I'm learning how to celebrate with you. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And it gets me excited. It makes my energy levels rise.
<v Speaker 1>And I like that. Right.
<v Speaker 2>And sometimes you need that for the end of the week. Like,
<v Speaker 2>I know we're all excited for Friday, but it's still
<v Speaker 2>one last day you got to get through. But yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it just kind of boosts your day.
<v Speaker 1>And we're also exhausted.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yeah, that too.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>That Doja Cat concert last night.
<v Speaker 1>A couple things. I know. You poor thing. hanging on
<v Speaker 1>by a thread right now.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, we're doing great over here. It's fine. Because of
<v Speaker 2>the breakfast burritos.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, yes.
<v Speaker 2>But if you are looking for stuff to do this weekend,
<v Speaker 2>we've got you covered because Josh and I put together
<v Speaker 2>a list of Of the Den 10, it's at least
<v Speaker 2>10 things to do in Denver each weekend. And the
<v Speaker 2>list for October, just I feel like it gets longer
<v Speaker 2>every weekend, just with so many fall activities happening, especially
<v Speaker 2>for spooky season. But we have a lot happening in
<v Speaker 2>Denver this weekend.
<v Speaker 1>Well, yeah, it's such a blast. I mean, seriously, this
<v Speaker 1>month specifically, you're so right. It just feels like more
<v Speaker 1>and more happens because we're kind of getting like, I
<v Speaker 1>know everyone's like when September hits the Burr months, but yeah, like,
<v Speaker 1>We are getting into the holiday season. We are kicking
<v Speaker 1>it off now. And so with that, it's just like,
<v Speaker 1>instead of the Den 10, it's like the Den 50. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>No, seriously. Actually, we should count this up at some point.
<v Speaker 2>But you can go check it out at Mix100. com. This weekend,
<v Speaker 2>the Great American Beer Festival happens once again this weekend.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of people love going to that. So not
<v Speaker 2>only is that festival going on itself, but so many
<v Speaker 2>other breweries have their own events because the Great American
<v Speaker 2>Beer Festival is going on.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>You can check some of that out. How about the
<v Speaker 2>Colorado State Cornhole Championships?
<v Speaker 1>What?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's a thing. And it's happening this weekend.
<v Speaker 1>That's the coolest thing ever. Can I enter? I want
<v Speaker 1>to play.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. All the details. That's a Saturday and Sunday event.
<v Speaker 1>That's sick.
<v Speaker 2>You have time to make your plans and enter.
<v Speaker 1>I know what I'm doing.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, my gosh. If you come to work on Monday
<v Speaker 2>saying that you won, I would die.
<v Speaker 1>I wouldn't because I'd be a millionaire. So we're good.
<v Speaker 1>I'd take a few days off.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think it's a million dollar prize, but that's okay.
<v Speaker 2>That's all right.
<v Speaker 1>It's not a sad day. No, no.
<v Speaker 2>Pitch a Friend is coming back to the Denver Milk Market.
<v Speaker 2>That's actually tonight for all the singles in Denver. If
<v Speaker 2>you want to help your friend find their person, our
<v Speaker 2>Colorado Avalanche are playing tomorrow. We have different farmer's markets.
<v Speaker 2>All of those are starting to wind down. So if
<v Speaker 2>you can find farmer's markets still... Go to them. There's
<v Speaker 2>a couple. South Pearl is still happening. There's one in
<v Speaker 2>the tech center at Bellevue Station. So you can find
<v Speaker 2>the info on that. Just go to the Den 10. Mix100. com.
<v Speaker 2>Three things you need to know before you go into
<v Speaker 2>the office today. Like you work at your best when
<v Speaker 2>you take a break.
<v Speaker 1>I love this. This is new news to me and
<v Speaker 1>I love it. Big fan.
<v Speaker 2>So the most energized and motivated workers are those who
<v Speaker 2>will schedule micro breaks during your workday. So you can
<v Speaker 2>tell your boss this. When you go in today, you
<v Speaker 2>need to take several micro breaks throughout the day and
<v Speaker 2>then you will be refreshed, energized. Your mind will just
<v Speaker 2>be clearer to get that work done.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, that makes sense because for me at least, if
<v Speaker 1>I'm just trying to focus for hours and hours on end,
<v Speaker 1>That is what I end up focusing on is how
<v Speaker 1>long I've been focusing. So I distract myself and I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my gosh, I've been working for so long. So
<v Speaker 1>I get that.
<v Speaker 2>It can just get a little too overwhelming. So when
<v Speaker 2>you take your micro breaks, you can do a variety
<v Speaker 2>of things. You know, maybe it is just... looking away
<v Speaker 2>from the computer screen for a minute or two, right?
<v Speaker 2>That's all we do, yeah. You can take a walk
<v Speaker 2>around the office. Even better if you can take a
<v Speaker 2>quick five-minute walk outside. Socialize with a work friend. Maybe
<v Speaker 2>do a few stretches. Get the circulation going through your
<v Speaker 2>body and... Yeah, it'll just honestly help clear your mind
<v Speaker 2>if you take these little micro breaks. Now, we're talking
<v Speaker 2>micro breaks, okay? We're not taking half an hour breaks.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, so my three-hour daily nap in the office is
<v Speaker 1>frowned upon?
<v Speaker 2>That does not count, Josh. No.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, darn it. I was so excited for this. What?
<v Speaker 2>But if you take one of these micro breaks and
<v Speaker 2>you just tell your boss, like, hey, I'm going to
<v Speaker 2>be back in five minutes. I'm going to go take
<v Speaker 2>a walk outside. And they kind of look at you sideways.
<v Speaker 2>You just tell them that we said so. This is
<v Speaker 2>what you got to do.
<v Speaker 1>I like that. Yeah, you got to listen to Nina
<v Speaker 1>and Josh. We know.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and it's backed up by science probably, so. Probably.
<v Speaker 1>No, but it is proven. If you can go outside
<v Speaker 1>and get in the sun, that is definitely good for you.
<v Speaker 1>So definitely do that. Take a little five-minute walk around
<v Speaker 1>the office. I like that. Go and do that. All right,
<v Speaker 1>this is funny. Humans just... I don't know if we
<v Speaker 1>just don't care anymore. So a study came out saying
<v Speaker 1>that most Americans are very concerned about AI. It scares them,
<v Speaker 1>and they don't really like where it's going, essentially. However,
<v Speaker 1>we're not cutting back on the use at all. We
<v Speaker 1>use AI so flippin' much. New data shows that 90%
<v Speaker 1>of U.S. adults are using AI at least once a
<v Speaker 1>week with data privacy and security topping reduced. the list
<v Speaker 1>as what they're concerned about, we still don't care. Over
<v Speaker 1>half of Americans are using it all the time. That
<v Speaker 1>includes even around 25% of them using it multiple times
<v Speaker 1>a day. And among those that are expressing concerns about it,
<v Speaker 1>65% still saying, yeah, we use it every day.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. I try not to use it. I really don't
<v Speaker 2>use it all that much. But here's the thing is
<v Speaker 2>it's so... incorporated in all of our stuff. If you're
<v Speaker 2>Googling something, there's settings on just Google where it pops
<v Speaker 2>up AI-generated search.
<v Speaker 1>Things for you. And Google itself is AI. Google itself
<v Speaker 1>is an artificial intelligence telling you how to go, where
<v Speaker 1>to go, what to do, what to buy. We've been
<v Speaker 1>using it all the time. You might not be on
<v Speaker 1>chat GPT every day, but that being said, you use
<v Speaker 1>your phone at all. You're using AI. That's the thing.
<v Speaker 1>We just are getting so numb to it now, I think.
<v Speaker 2>Is it numb or is it spoiled?
<v Speaker 1>Oh, we are absolutely spoiled. Oh, gosh. Without this, without
<v Speaker 1>my phone, I'd be lost. I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>It's the same thing without my iPad, without my computer.
<v Speaker 1>So I think we're just so used to it now.
<v Speaker 1>But that being said, I have concerns too.
<v Speaker 2>That being said, it is destroying the world. I know.
<v Speaker 2>It's fine. Something to think about.
<v Speaker 1>Look, it's the weekend. I'm not worrying about it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'll worry about it on Monday.
<v Speaker 1>How about that? That's a Monday problem. Right.
<v Speaker 2>The third thing you need to know, most popular Halloween
<v Speaker 2>costumes by each state. This was a study done. They've
<v Speaker 2>done it in each state. And the most popular costume
<v Speaker 2>in Colorado... is a bat, which seems kind of boring.
<v Speaker 2>And actually all of these answers on this survey were
<v Speaker 2>kind of boring too. On the list was mermaid, dinosaur, skeleton,
<v Speaker 2>And then, yeah, for Colorado, a bat. And I was like,
<v Speaker 2>a bat? I've literally, I don't even think I've ever
<v Speaker 2>seen anyone dressed as a bat going out.
<v Speaker 1>You and I went to Spirit Halloween earlier this month,
<v Speaker 1>and I didn't see one thing that you could dress
<v Speaker 1>up as a bat with.
<v Speaker 2>No, no, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>One costume.
<v Speaker 2>That just seems weird. Sometimes these surveys online are just,
<v Speaker 2>I feel like they're making stuff up.
<v Speaker 1>That's AI slop right there.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my gosh, it is!
<v Speaker 1>You're right! We're using it!
<v Speaker 2>Oh, I hate myself.
