<v Speaker 1>You're waking up to Denver's Morning.
<v Speaker 2>Show with Nina and Josh.
<v Speaker 1>Mix 100.
<v Speaker 3>Well, how is this for a good morning story?
<v Speaker 2>So to kick off your celebrity quickie today.
<v Speaker 3>Smallville actor Tom Welling, he made headlines over the weekend
<v Speaker 3>when he accidentally posted a nude.
<v Speaker 1>Accidentally. You don't think it was.
<v Speaker 2>Did you see this?
<v Speaker 1>No, I saw it. I think he... Hold on, hold on.
<v Speaker 2>Let me tell the story. So he was at a
<v Speaker 2>hotel in New York.
<v Speaker 3>He was trying to show off the view of the
<v Speaker 3>city that he had in this hotel, okay?
<v Speaker 1>It's a big view.
<v Speaker 2>Was it?
<v Speaker 3>He took a picture out the window of all the
<v Speaker 3>buildings and the street and everything and the sun rising
<v Speaker 3>and then he posted that photo.
<v Speaker 2>Well, it took.
<v Speaker 3>Milliseconds for people to realize that he was naked while
<v Speaker 3>taking this photo and you could see all of him
<v Speaker 3>in the reflection of the window.
<v Speaker 1>Finally giving fans what they've wanted for decades.
<v Speaker 2>Smallville actor, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Smallville actor, big dreams.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, yes, for sure. But yeah, so he kind of
<v Speaker 3>went viral over the weekend. He did delete that post, but.
<v Speaker 1>He- After 10 hours.
<v Speaker 2>Was it 10 hours?
<v Speaker 1>He kept it up for 10 hours, Nina. This is
<v Speaker 1>why I'm like the dude, like if you go 10
<v Speaker 1>hours without checking Instagram, first of all, who are you?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And then second of all, that's why I think he
<v Speaker 1>did it on purpose.
<v Speaker 2>He kept it up for sure on purpose. I kept
<v Speaker 2>it up for forever.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, once he noticed, he was like, eh.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, all right, all right.
<v Speaker 3>And then his publicist is calling him nonstop, like, please
<v Speaker 3>take down this photo.
<v Speaker 1>For the love of God, take it down.
<v Speaker 3>But do you remember when this happened at DIA a
<v Speaker 3>couple years ago? Something similar happened a few years ago.
<v Speaker 3>A pilot was at that hotel. that weird shaped hotel.
<v Speaker 3>And didn't know that the windows are see-through, which I'm sorry,
<v Speaker 3>I'm kind of on the pilot side on that part
<v Speaker 3>of it. Those windows should not be see-through. But he
<v Speaker 3>was naked in his own hotel room and staring out
<v Speaker 3>the window and didn't realize all the cars driving by
<v Speaker 3>to drop people off at the airport. They could all
<v Speaker 3>see him. So whoopsies. Just watch those reflections is all.
<v Speaker 1>It's just one of those things. It's like all dudes,
<v Speaker 1>they pick their nose in the car thinking no one
<v Speaker 1>can see them. People can see you. Just be aware
<v Speaker 1>of that. But Tom Welling, good looking dude. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I'm sure every woman in the world and a lot
<v Speaker 1>of guys, too, were like, hey, man, good for you.
<v Speaker 1>That's awesome.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'll rewatch that show.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Absolutely. Well, Shane Gillis is in the news today because
<v Speaker 1>he hosted SNL for the third time over the weekend.
<v Speaker 1>And he, in Shane Gillis fashion, went off script a
<v Speaker 1>little bit and ended up accidentally doing the one thing
<v Speaker 1>you're not supposed to do on a live TV show.
<v Speaker 1>He dropped the F-bomb.
<v Speaker 2>Not good.
<v Speaker 1>Dropped the bomb. But it is kind of, in a way,
<v Speaker 1>not refreshing that he did it, but refreshing to see
<v Speaker 1>that SNL still is a live skit show. It is live.
<v Speaker 1>A lot of times, people are like, oh, there's a
<v Speaker 1>tape delay, or it's recorded. No, no, no, no, no.
<v Speaker 1>This was as live as live can be, you know?
<v Speaker 2>For sure, yeah. So, whoopsies!
<v Speaker 1>Unfortunately, yeah. But I will say, he did kind of
<v Speaker 1>handle it well. He acknowledged it right away, being like, oh, no,
<v Speaker 1>I shouldn't have done that. But also, Mikey Day, who's
<v Speaker 1>one of my favorite SNL cast members, was funny enough
<v Speaker 1>to go along with it and then ended up saying,
<v Speaker 1>you know what? You're a loser and you said a
<v Speaker 1>bad word. A kind of off script in which Gillis replied,
<v Speaker 1>you know what? Yes, I did. The moment was kind
<v Speaker 1>of funny. And it adds to his story of SNL.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, we all know he was fired in 2019.
<v Speaker 1>He returned as a host in 2024, again in 2025.
<v Speaker 1>His opening monologues are what they are. Yeah. You know,
<v Speaker 1>a lot of people like him, a lot of people don't.
<v Speaker 1>So he's one of the very polarizing, recurring characters now
<v Speaker 1>on SNL.
<v Speaker 3>Well, whether you like him or not, this is his
<v Speaker 3>third time hosting it, so good on him.
<v Speaker 1>It might be his last. He has not dropped an
<v Speaker 1>F-bomb before. He should know better.
<v Speaker 2>If anyone should know better, it's definitely him.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, this might be his last.
<v Speaker 3>And real quick, just want to give a shout out
<v Speaker 3>since we're talking about SNL.
<v Speaker 2>Rosalia did the musical performance.
<v Speaker 1>Yes.
<v Speaker 2>Amazing.
<v Speaker 1>Crushed it. I was not familiar with her live game.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, she's so good.
<v Speaker 1>Holy cow.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, she's amazing.
<v Speaker 1>Unbelievable. I got to start listening more to her because
<v Speaker 1>I was not familiar.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you better get familiar.
<v Speaker 1>Shout out to her.
<v Speaker 2>She's great.
<v Speaker 3>So you can catch all those videos. They're up on
<v Speaker 3>YouTube right now. That is your Celebrity Quickie on Denver's
<v Speaker 3>Morning Show. Catch it again next hour with more stories.
<v Speaker 3>And we are going to continue talking about our weekend because, Josh,
<v Speaker 3>you and I got a little competitive. And I definitely failed.
<v Speaker 3>But at the end of the day, I feel like
<v Speaker 3>we both failed a little.
<v Speaker 1>Well, we definitely did. And I got to tell you
<v Speaker 1>something you probably don't know about it yet.
<v Speaker 3>Uh-oh. Okay, we're going to talk about that at 6.30
<v Speaker 3>on Mix 100. It's Denver's Morning Show with Nina and
<v Speaker 3>Josh on Mix 100. And we are live on YouTube
<v Speaker 3>just like we are every morning. Go ahead and subscribe
<v Speaker 3>at Mix 100 Denver. It is brought to you by Safeway.

<v Speaker 3>So, Josh, over the weekend, we had quite the weekend
<v Speaker 3>on Saturday morning. I kicked things off over at Elitch
<v Speaker 3>Gardens for the Pet Parade. That was so cute. Mix 100,
<v Speaker 3>we were a part of it, I think, years and
<v Speaker 3>years ago, kind of took a break from that.
<v Speaker 2>And now we are back with Elitch Gardens throwing the
<v Speaker 2>Pet Parade. The cutest thing of my life. I'm so
<v Speaker 2>happy we are back.
<v Speaker 3>I also brought my dog Bonzo with me, and I
<v Speaker 3>don't take him to a lot of public places.
<v Speaker 2>I used to, but my other dog that we adopted.
<v Speaker 3>Is just very poorly behaved with other dogs in public.
<v Speaker 1>He's a bad boy.
<v Speaker 2>He is a bad boy. But, you know, it's just
<v Speaker 2>part of his background, whatever. He was adopted.
<v Speaker 1>Fair enough, fair enough.
<v Speaker 2>Right, right.
<v Speaker 3>So I never bring my other dog, who is good
<v Speaker 3>in public, out because I feel bad bringing one and
<v Speaker 3>not the other.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, of course.
<v Speaker 3>But this time around, I was like, listen, it's the
<v Speaker 3>pet parade. It would be fun to bring him in
<v Speaker 3>a little costume, and I brought him, and he did
<v Speaker 3>so good. And I was like such a proud mom
<v Speaker 3>of my dog, but he did so good and went
<v Speaker 3>up on stage, and it was a lot of fun
<v Speaker 3>for the Mix 100 and Elitch Gardens Pet Parade on Saturday.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 3>Then on Sunday, we went over downtown Tivoli Quad at
<v Speaker 3>the Auraria campus for the Making Strides Walk.
<v Speaker 2>And that was so great, Josh.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it was a huge event. I mean, the turnout
<v Speaker 1>was insane. It was more people than I've ever seen.
<v Speaker 1>We worked it years ago. We've been doing it for
<v Speaker 1>so long. Yeah. And to be a part of it again,
<v Speaker 1>it's such a cool event. You are doing something for
<v Speaker 1>a good cause. There were a couple moments there, Nina,
<v Speaker 1>that kind of brought me close to tears. Oh, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>People shared their stories. When the walk starts, a bunch
<v Speaker 1>of motorcyclists come and rev their engines and you just
<v Speaker 1>see hundreds and hundreds of people getting ready to take
<v Speaker 1>this walk it's it's a beautiful thing to see really
<v Speaker 1>it really is.
<v Speaker 3>Just this wave of pink and it's breast cancer awareness
<v Speaker 3>they're also fundraising um as well for the american cancer
<v Speaker 3>society and it was it was a great beautiful day
<v Speaker 3>yeah and so yeah like you said hearing some of
<v Speaker 3>the speeches it makes you very emotional it is emotional
<v Speaker 3>stuff it's okay to get emotional you.
<v Speaker 1>Know i mean it's a heavy it's a Heavy subject
<v Speaker 1>that you don't try to make light of, but you
<v Speaker 1>try to have fun with the event that day. Right.
<v Speaker 1>Because it is a lot of fun. There was a
<v Speaker 1>lot of different pop-up stands and things to do. You
<v Speaker 1>and I were kicking soccer balls. We were chit-chatting with
<v Speaker 1>the people that were there. Again, there was so much pink.
<v Speaker 1>There was a photo booth that we had fun there.
<v Speaker 1>And then to go back a little bit, because I
<v Speaker 1>do want to talk about the Pet Parade. Two things.
<v Speaker 1>First of all, your outfit was awesome.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you.
<v Speaker 1>Your dress was so cool. I've never seen a dress
<v Speaker 1>with a skeleton bone outline.
<v Speaker 2>Like x-ray type of thing.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Really, really cool. I really liked that. And then
<v Speaker 1>on top of that, I have to know, What was
<v Speaker 1>your favorite outfit that you saw or dress up from
<v Speaker 1>the dog? Did people go together and dress up with
<v Speaker 1>their dog? Yes. What was your favorite part of that?
<v Speaker 1>Because I know you were the judge, too.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, I was the judge. So that's why I couldn't
<v Speaker 2>walk my dog.
<v Speaker 3>And I didn't intend to have him participate, but he
<v Speaker 3>kind of had to in order to be there.
<v Speaker 2>So my dog lost, by the way, so it wasn't rigged.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, good. That was my third question. Okay, good. He did.
<v Speaker 1>He lost.
<v Speaker 2>He lost.
<v Speaker 3>But no, one of my favorite costumes, there was two that,
<v Speaker 3>in particular, that really jump out at me, because one,
<v Speaker 3>I think, was a homemade costume for their dog, which
<v Speaker 3>I thought was just really, really cool, very creative, and
<v Speaker 3>it was Deadpool and Wolverine. And the dog was dressed
<v Speaker 3>up as Wolverine, and he had this Wolverine helmet, and
<v Speaker 3>this was a big boy, I don't know what kind
<v Speaker 3>of dog it was, maybe like giant chocolate lab, but
<v Speaker 3>this chocolate lab you know, was not starving.
<v Speaker 1>He was a chunker.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, he was a big boy.
<v Speaker 1>He was a king-sized chocolate. There we go. Yes.
<v Speaker 3>But he had this Wolverine helmet, and I'm pretty sure
<v Speaker 3>it was homemade, like papier-mâché almost.
<v Speaker 2>That's awesome.
<v Speaker 3>So they won for, I think, most creative, and I
<v Speaker 3>just thought that was really good, and the fact that
<v Speaker 3>the owner dressed up as Deadpool with him was just,
<v Speaker 3>it was so good.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 3>And then the other one, they also won, it was
<v Speaker 3>best group duo. It was this whole family, and they
<v Speaker 3>dressed up as like Carnival, carnival theme, and the dog
<v Speaker 3>was a lion.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 3>The dad was wearing, like, a muscle suit. He was
<v Speaker 3>strong man. The mom was wearing a beard. She was
<v Speaker 3>the bearded lady.
<v Speaker 1>Wow.
<v Speaker 3>They had two sons, and they were kind of the
<v Speaker 3>carnival guys.
<v Speaker 2>That, you know, they do the lion taming.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>The ringmaster, essentially.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, the ringmasters. And the whole family was dressed up
<v Speaker 2>as different carnival people.
<v Speaker 1>That's the best. I love that one. It was so cute.
<v Speaker 1>That one would probably win for me because you've incorporated
<v Speaker 1>the entire family. Yes. And that's really, really cute to see.
<v Speaker 1>But then also the dog's a lion. I know. That's
<v Speaker 1>so adorable.
<v Speaker 2>It's so cute.
<v Speaker 1>I love that.
<v Speaker 3>They all got up on stage together and it was really,
<v Speaker 3>really good.
<v Speaker 2>So they were one of the winners as well.
<v Speaker 1>So a lot of good costumes. Well, I do want
<v Speaker 1>to say, yeah, I saw some pics that are posted.
<v Speaker 1>They're on Mix 100 right now on our socials. Go
<v Speaker 1>look at those because the dogs are so cute. I
<v Speaker 1>saw one that was like Dorothy and instead of Toto,
<v Speaker 1>because that's the normal route you'd go. Right. Dorothy and
<v Speaker 1>her little picnic basket.
<v Speaker 2>The dog was the picnic basket.
<v Speaker 1>The cutest thing I've ever seen in my life. So
<v Speaker 1>that was cute. You have a bunch of pictures that
<v Speaker 1>you threw up there as well. So go check those
<v Speaker 1>out on our socials at Mix 100. On Instagram and Facebook,
<v Speaker 1>because you'll have a laugh. It was so cute.
<v Speaker 2>Go and do that.
<v Speaker 3>And we're running out of time right here, Josh, so
<v Speaker 3>we're going to have to talk about it later.
<v Speaker 2>But we got competitive.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, my gosh. Yes, sorry.
<v Speaker 2>We got real competitive, and we're going to have to
<v Speaker 2>talk about that.
<v Speaker 3>We'll talk about that at right about 7 o'clock, so
<v Speaker 3>keep it right here with Mix 100. Three things you
<v Speaker 3>need to know before you go into the office today.
<v Speaker 3>Like the Premier League's 13th annual Fan Festival. was in
<v Speaker 3>Denver this weekend. So it does go around to different cities,
<v Speaker 3>and it shows off all the games that are going
<v Speaker 3>on across the pond in the UK, Arsenal, and places
<v Speaker 3>like that.
<v Speaker 2>When Denver was chosen.
<v Speaker 3>To host, soccer fans everywhere were a little bit surprised,
<v Speaker 3>to be honest, that it was happening in Denver, but
<v Speaker 3>they were excited because Denver has become such a soccer city.
<v Speaker 3>Of course, with the Rapids, we have our Denver Summit,
<v Speaker 3>and there's so much going on with soccer and Denver.
<v Speaker 3>And then the fact that Premier League's Fan Fest is here,
<v Speaker 3>or was here this past weekend, it was on Saturday
<v Speaker 3>and Sunday, It was just amazing, and people were excited
<v Speaker 3>about it. It was hosted over at Union Station. I
<v Speaker 3>saw the videos. I saw the photos.
<v Speaker 2>People were lining up like 3 o'clock in the morning.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so I have two pretty good friends, and they
<v Speaker 1>both texted me. They were like, hey, man, what are
<v Speaker 1>you doing? You want to come and celebrate this? And
<v Speaker 1>I was like, hey. I'm already up very early in
<v Speaker 1>the mornings during the weekdays. I was like, I like
<v Speaker 1>to try to use my weekends to catch up on sleep.
<v Speaker 1>So I missed out on this, but earlier this year, Arsenal,
<v Speaker 1>who is owned by Kroenke, so we are part of
<v Speaker 1>KSC Enterprises here, and we had the Arsenal bring their
<v Speaker 1>Premier League Champions trophy To Colorado.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, sweet.
<v Speaker 1>I signed up to go see that because I am
<v Speaker 1>a European football fan. I love the Rapids. I love MLS.
<v Speaker 1>But Euro football is a completely different level. It's the GOAT.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 1>The fandom of the world. I mean, people love this.
<v Speaker 1>So I was like, I need to see this Premier
<v Speaker 1>League trophy. I want to see it. Yeah. I got
<v Speaker 1>to see it. It was unbelievable. I got a picture
<v Speaker 1>with it. It was awesome. And then I saw that
<v Speaker 1>they were going to do that over the weekend. And
<v Speaker 1>I wanted to go so bad, but I did choose
<v Speaker 1>sleep over it. So next time they come, fingers crossed,
<v Speaker 1>I will be there. But it's a really cool event.
<v Speaker 1>I had so many friends sending me pictures and videos
<v Speaker 1>of what it looked like at 3.30 in the morning
<v Speaker 1>as they lined up for it. Soccer fandom is the
<v Speaker 1>most amazing thing I've ever seen.
<v Speaker 2>It's different.
<v Speaker 1>You guys are crazy.
<v Speaker 3>It is different for sure. But it's just so passionate
<v Speaker 3>and so out there and wild. And it's really, really cool.
<v Speaker 3>So this Premier League's Fan Fest, it launched in 2017.
<v Speaker 3>This is the first time it was in Denver. Overall,
<v Speaker 3>it's brought in more than 120,000 attendees.
<v Speaker 1>Wow.
<v Speaker 2>And now with Denver, we added a couple thousand more
<v Speaker 2>to that.
<v Speaker 1>I love it. All right. So this is the question
<v Speaker 1>that I have for everybody today. What the heck is today?
<v Speaker 1>Is it a paid holiday? We don't know. Happy Indigenous
<v Speaker 1>Peoples Day, Columbus Day. I have no idea what we're
<v Speaker 1>celebrating right now or what's going on, but I love it.
<v Speaker 1>And it's funny. The United States doesn't really know what's
<v Speaker 1>going on right now. Right now, there are 20 states
<v Speaker 1>that have made today a paid holiday. Colorado is not
<v Speaker 1>one of them. But then Delaware, they replaced Columbus Day
<v Speaker 1>altogether way back in 2009 with a floating holiday. So
<v Speaker 1>you can choose whatever day you want to take off.
<v Speaker 1>Oklahoma celebrates the second Monday as Oklahoma Native American Day.
<v Speaker 1>Tennessee is substituted both days for the Friday off for
<v Speaker 1>Thanksgiving so that you get a four day week. We
<v Speaker 1>literally don't know what we're doing today.
<v Speaker 2>It's just all over the place.
<v Speaker 1>I completely understand that a lot of people disagree with
<v Speaker 1>celebrating Columbus Day and I totally get that. I kind
<v Speaker 1>of like the Indigenous Peoples Day. I'm kind of for that.
<v Speaker 2>I do too.
<v Speaker 1>But it's just so funny how we literally have no
<v Speaker 1>idea what's going on. So celebrate today however you want.
<v Speaker 1>You know what? Take a day off on in November
<v Speaker 1>if you want to. It doesn't really matter, I guess.
<v Speaker 1>This is totally up to your own interpretation.
<v Speaker 2>Tell your boss you observe it, okay?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, get the day off, actually.
<v Speaker 2>Go ahead, go ahead.
<v Speaker 1>Why are we here?
<v Speaker 2>And a viral video over the weekend.
<v Speaker 3>This is not the greatest story, because a tiger mauled
<v Speaker 3>a man to death at a zoo in the UK.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my gosh.
<v Speaker 3>But this man climbed into the enclosure. I don't know
<v Speaker 3>what he was thinking. I don't know if he wanted
<v Speaker 3>to try to go viral. It certainly did go viral,
<v Speaker 3>but he didn't make it.
<v Speaker 1>He's not around to see it.
<v Speaker 2>No.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, this video was all over. It did make
<v Speaker 3>it to my feed. Josh, did it make it to
<v Speaker 3>your feed?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and I didn't watch the whole... I was like,
<v Speaker 3>as soon as I saw the headline that he did
<v Speaker 3>pass away, I.
<v Speaker 2>Was like, scroll.
<v Speaker 1>Am I about to watch someone die?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I was like, scroll.
<v Speaker 3>I don't want to do that. We're not going to
<v Speaker 3>do that. But yeah, he went into the enclosure himself.
<v Speaker 3>He climbed over a fence to get into it. It
<v Speaker 3>wasn't by accident by any means. They did eventually get
<v Speaker 3>him out of the enclosure with a lot of big injuries.
<v Speaker 3>That tiger was attacking him.
<v Speaker 1>That's the thing. I don't understand what... What goes through
<v Speaker 1>your thought process? I don't know if you're on something.
<v Speaker 1>I really don't. I don't understand. Why on God's green
<v Speaker 1>earth would you choose to go to a lion, a
<v Speaker 1>tiger enclosure?
<v Speaker 3>Anything.
<v Speaker 1>These are wild animals at the zoo. It does not
<v Speaker 1>matter what enclosure. The monkey enclosure. They're going to attack you.
<v Speaker 2>They're going to attack. Exactly. They attack each other.
<v Speaker 1>Remember Punch the Monkey? I don't understand this.
<v Speaker 3>Exactly.
<v Speaker 2>Exactly. It is interesting.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, the zoo has put out a message to everyone.
<v Speaker 3>They express their condolences to the family. I mean, a
<v Speaker 3>life was lost.
<v Speaker 2>Right.
<v Speaker 3>But they also did notify to the public that that
<v Speaker 3>I'll tie. I think the name is I'll tie the tiger.
<v Speaker 3>is not going to be euthanized. So people were wondering. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I think so too. Good.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, come into my territory, dude. Like, I dare you.
<v Speaker 2>Right, right.
<v Speaker 1>The tiger did nothing. I'm sorry, I hate to say
<v Speaker 1>it because life was lost. The tiger did nothing wrong.
<v Speaker 2>No, the tiger did what the tiger is supposed to do.
<v Speaker 2>You know? And so.
<v Speaker 3>This man, I mean, it is terrible that he lost
<v Speaker 3>his life and now his family has to deal with this.
<v Speaker 3>This is worldwide news. This happened in the UK. We're
<v Speaker 3>talking about it right here in Denver. But yeah, this
<v Speaker 3>is worldwide news and the family has to deal with it.
<v Speaker 3>And it was just due to who knows what he
<v Speaker 3>was thinking. But yeah, I don't know if it was
<v Speaker 3>for a viral thing or ha ha, this will be funny. Like,
<v Speaker 3>watch what happens and don't worry, I'll be back out.
<v Speaker 1>No, no, no.
<v Speaker 2>These are wild animals.
<v Speaker 1>That's kind of what happens in this day and age
<v Speaker 1>where people will do anything to be on the internet
<v Speaker 1>and go viral. Yeah. And it has resulted in many
<v Speaker 1>lives lost because they are literally willing to do anything.
<v Speaker 1>It's a sad reality of the world right now.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, no, it really, really is. That is no before
<v Speaker 2>you go.
<v Speaker 3>But, you know, speaking about doing anything for the gram, Josh,
<v Speaker 3>we kind.
<v Speaker 2>Of did that yesterday. Yeah, we'll talk about that at
<v Speaker 2>seven on Mix 100.
<v Speaker 3>Yesterday, Josh, we were downtown-ish at the Tivoli Quad at
<v Speaker 3>the Auraria campus. Had a good time over there because
<v Speaker 3>we were there for Making Strides Colorado to... benefit the
<v Speaker 3>American Cancer Society for breast cancer awareness.
<v Speaker 2>And while that event, it was very fun.
<v Speaker 3>It was a little emotional because people are there sharing
<v Speaker 3>their stories. I had some friends come by. Thank you
<v Speaker 3>to my friends who stopped by, did the little walk
<v Speaker 3>with me. We were all wearing pink and having a
<v Speaker 3>great time out there. And then after the walk, Josh,
<v Speaker 3>I was kind of walking around a little bit, looking
<v Speaker 3>at things. Because all the people, everyone else was still
<v Speaker 3>during that walk. So the crowd kind of thinned out.
<v Speaker 3>So I got a good look at everything that was
<v Speaker 3>going on. And all of a sudden... I see this
<v Speaker 3>obstacle course, this inflatable obstacle course. And I was like,
<v Speaker 3>where is Josh? We need to grab a couple of
<v Speaker 3>promo people, a couple of cameras, and we are going
<v Speaker 3>through this obstacle course.
<v Speaker 1>Which I mean, by the way, if you, you know
<v Speaker 1>what an inflatable obstacle obstacle course is, it's made for children.
<v Speaker 1>It's made for children. This is made for kids, kid size. Okay.
<v Speaker 1>First of all, so let's, let's just start with that.
<v Speaker 1>But then second of all, This was an unsupervised obstacle course.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know where the person was that was manning it.
<v Speaker 2>We tried to look around a little bit.
<v Speaker 1>We poked around.
<v Speaker 2>We tried to be good people.
<v Speaker 1>We did.
<v Speaker 2>We were like, hey, we're going to go on this,
<v Speaker 2>by the way.
<v Speaker 1>But if you leave us alone too long, we will
<v Speaker 1>use the things that we're probably not supposed to. Yes.
<v Speaker 2>So we did the obstacle course.
<v Speaker 1>It was so much fun. It was. Not to brag.
<v Speaker 2>Go ahead. Fine.
<v Speaker 1>Don't care. Whatever.
<v Speaker 2>Whatever.
<v Speaker 1>I'm just saying I'm as competitive as can be. You
<v Speaker 1>know what? That's funny. I actually had, I'm not kidding,
<v Speaker 1>like 15 or 16 people swipe up on my story
<v Speaker 1>because of that. Yeah. And they go, like, essentially all
<v Speaker 1>the same thing. Wow, glad to see the competitive bone
<v Speaker 1>in your body hasn't left yet. No, for real. No, but, like,
<v Speaker 1>you say. You killed me.
<v Speaker 2>You killed me in that for sure.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, so I'm still, okay, in my head, I'm still, like, 19. Right.
<v Speaker 1>And at, like, the peak of my athletic ability, okay?
<v Speaker 2>You're good, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Okay. Physically, I'm not like that anymore. No! Welcome to
<v Speaker 1>your 30s!
<v Speaker 2>And that's a different story.
<v Speaker 1>So I didn't notice this, especially when it was going.
<v Speaker 1>So I truly went so fast down that I lost
<v Speaker 1>my shoe. And then on top of that, I had
<v Speaker 1>no idea. I... skinned my knees so badly.
<v Speaker 2>No, you didn't.
<v Speaker 1>They're rubbing against my pants right now. Well, I'm wearing pants, obviously.
<v Speaker 2>Do you need a Band-Aid?
<v Speaker 1>No, but I didn't notice until I got in the
<v Speaker 1>shower later that day, and the hot water brought me
<v Speaker 1>to my knees, essentially, in the shower, where I was
<v Speaker 1>just like... It hurts so bad. Both of them. Because
<v Speaker 1>if you watch the video, go to Mix 100, on
<v Speaker 1>social media, I dove through the first part. That's when
<v Speaker 1>I lost my shoe, and I think that's when I
<v Speaker 1>skinned my knees. That's when you skinned your knees? across
<v Speaker 1>the first part of it. My kneecaps right now are raw.
<v Speaker 1>They're so red. And even right now, as I'm standing
<v Speaker 1>to speak on the mic, they're rubbing against my pants
<v Speaker 1>right now and it hurts so bad. Had no idea
<v Speaker 1>that I even did that. But that's just a part
<v Speaker 1>of me. I'm getting older. I probably wouldn't have done
<v Speaker 1>that when I was young.
<v Speaker 2>I've just been more athletic. Yeah, exactly. And your skin
<v Speaker 2>is thinning. All of it.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not even going to say an age group.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not that old.
<v Speaker 1>I love it.
<v Speaker 2>I love it. You know what?
<v Speaker 3>The fact that I lost and I was salty about
<v Speaker 3>that because I kept losing my sunglasses.
<v Speaker 2>I blame it on my sunglasses, by the way.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, by the way.
<v Speaker 2>Yes.
<v Speaker 3>I wore them and I shouldn't. And yes, they are
<v Speaker 3>the knockoff Pradas, but they were still expensive.
<v Speaker 2>Who cares?
<v Speaker 3>But the fact that I lost to you, I still
<v Speaker 3>get to gloat that you're an old man.
<v Speaker 2>And you thought, you thought, Josh.
<v Speaker 1>I did. Aha. I did. Everything hurts.
<v Speaker 2>So this is awkward.
<v Speaker 3>Actor Tobey Maguire, he stepped up to officiate his ex-wife's
<v Speaker 3>wedding this past weekend.
<v Speaker 1>What?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So he was the officiant marrying his ex-wife to her
<v Speaker 3>new man, who, by the way, is a billionaire.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, I get what he's... He's playing the long game, Nina. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>He's playing along.
<v Speaker 1>He's waiting for that.
<v Speaker 2>You have to.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, he's waiting for that divorce. She's going to get
<v Speaker 1>half a Billy, and then they're going to be fine.
<v Speaker 1>They're going to get back together.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, half a Billy. Yeah, you know what?
<v Speaker 3>I think you're onto something there, because the whole timeline
<v Speaker 3>of the relationship with Tobey Maguire, his ex-wife, and this
<v Speaker 3>new guy, the timeline is weird. So let me break
<v Speaker 3>it down real quick. So Tobey and Jennifer is her name.
<v Speaker 3>They married in 2007. Were married for a hot minute there.
<v Speaker 3>They separated in 2016. OK, they filed for divorce in 2020.
<v Speaker 3>This is already drawn out from their separation from 2016.
<v Speaker 3>But get this, Josh, their divorce was not finalized until
<v Speaker 3>a month ago. One month ago is when they finally
<v Speaker 3>finalized their divorce. They separated in 2016, filed for divorce
<v Speaker 3>in 2020, was not finalized until last month of 2026.
<v Speaker 2>Isn't that kind of crazy?
<v Speaker 1>That's so weird. That makes zero sense to me.
<v Speaker 2>And now she's getting married to this billionaire.
<v Speaker 3>But I will say that Jennifer, she did have this
<v Speaker 3>billionaire's baby earlier this summer.
<v Speaker 1>Again, long game.
<v Speaker 2>Let's throw that into the mix.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, Tobey Maguire, he was the officiant at their
<v Speaker 3>wedding this past weekend.
<v Speaker 1>You know what? Maybe he and the billionaire dude are
<v Speaker 1>just buddies. And I don't know. Honestly, I don't know
<v Speaker 1>how to explain that.
<v Speaker 2>No, there is none. There is none. It's just a
<v Speaker 2>weird situation. And that's okay.
<v Speaker 1>I guess so. Well, you know what? Good for him.
<v Speaker 1>He's still my favorite Spider-Man. So it's all good. All right, Nina,
<v Speaker 1>we got to talk about this whole Kelly Clarkson fiasco.
<v Speaker 1>If you have been not living under a rock, you
<v Speaker 1>have seen that she is P.O.'d. Like she is mad
<v Speaker 1>at this tiny little hole in the wall company because
<v Speaker 1>of essentially she says they kind of stood her up
<v Speaker 1>or played kind of snooty with her. So what happened
<v Speaker 1>was she went to a store in Brooklyn and it's
<v Speaker 1>called The Art of Play. I don't understand if she
<v Speaker 1>actually was kind of stood up by them. She said
<v Speaker 1>they treated her like Julia Roberts in Pretty Women, okay? Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>We all know that whole thing. They're basically like, you're
<v Speaker 1>not rich enough. Big mistake. Huge. There you go. You're
<v Speaker 1>not rich enough to shop with us, okay? So essentially,
<v Speaker 1>how do you not know who Kelly Clarkson is, first
<v Speaker 1>of all? First of all, yeah. And you would think
<v Speaker 1>that if you are a small little hole-in-the-wall shop in Brooklyn,
<v Speaker 1>you would... Love to have her there.
<v Speaker 2>You'd take any sale, really.
<v Speaker 1>Well, anyway, this whole thing happened where Kelly tweeted out.
<v Speaker 1>She took to X, not Twitter. So she took to
<v Speaker 1>X and was like, hey, if you go to this store,
<v Speaker 1>I'm just letting you know that I'm freaking Kelly Clarkson
<v Speaker 1>and they treated me very poorly. So they might treat
<v Speaker 1>you very poorly. That was her first tweet that was
<v Speaker 1>sent out on October 10th. Okay. So over the weekend.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Well, obviously, 8 million people apparently saw this and took
<v Speaker 1>to different social media sites.
<v Speaker 2>They started attacking the shop.
<v Speaker 1>Destroying the site. They went to Yelp. They went to
<v Speaker 1>anything that they could rate this place. Zero stars. Zero stars.
<v Speaker 1>Zero stars. This art of play comes out and is like, hey, okay,
<v Speaker 1>hold on, hold the phone. They have a rebuttal.
<v Speaker 2>They explained their side.
<v Speaker 1>Explained their side. To which Kelly, again, now goes, okay, cool, cool, cool.
<v Speaker 1>So you say it wasn't for sale. That's the narrative
<v Speaker 1>you're going to go with, essentially. So the whole conversation
<v Speaker 1>we had for you where I asked if I could
<v Speaker 1>buy this and then also saw the price tag hanging
<v Speaker 1>on the wall, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So she
<v Speaker 1>explains her side again and essentially goes, hey, by the way,
<v Speaker 1>you're still being a jerk to me.
<v Speaker 2>And you're a liar. She flat out called them, you're
<v Speaker 2>a liar.
<v Speaker 1>Crazy.
<v Speaker 2>You're liars.
<v Speaker 1>So they go again and they respond once again. This
<v Speaker 1>is this morning. And they go, hey, we're clarifying on
<v Speaker 1>this whole thing. So essentially the art piece in question
<v Speaker 1>is a very hard to make intricate animatronic bird essentially
<v Speaker 1>that you can pull levers and and do things with
<v Speaker 1>and it tweets at you it moves it's a very
<v Speaker 1>beautiful art piece okay it's interactive she wants it it's
<v Speaker 1>said on the sign there's a sign next to it
<v Speaker 1>that says hey this is $ 15, 000 okay so that essentially
<v Speaker 1>this final post by art of play says hey that
<v Speaker 1>is for the artist to commission a brand new bird
<v Speaker 1>for you They go, this bird that we have is
<v Speaker 1>fixed to the wall.
<v Speaker 2>It's a permanent piece. They can't move it.
<v Speaker 1>We can't move it. We can't take this off for you,
<v Speaker 1>whether you're Kelly Clarkson, the president, or Joe Schmo. It
<v Speaker 1>doesn't matter. We cannot give this to you. So then
<v Speaker 1>they're like, you are not making yourself really here in
<v Speaker 1>a good light. They're like, we tried to sell you
<v Speaker 1>one exactly like it, but the artist has to give
<v Speaker 1>that to us, okay?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>So my question for this whole thing is, is Kelly
<v Speaker 1>kind of a Karen?
<v Speaker 3>It seemed like she was a bit of a Karen
<v Speaker 3>in this entire situation.
<v Speaker 2>The fact that, listen, she's a celebrity, okay?
<v Speaker 3>And this is a small little art shop in New York, sure.
<v Speaker 3>And yes, they sell expensive pieces. But this is a
<v Speaker 3>small shop. And she went to a public platform as
<v Speaker 3>a celebrity. How do you not know what you're doing?
<v Speaker 3>She knew what she was doing. She knew that they
<v Speaker 3>were going to get attacked by all of her fans
<v Speaker 3>and everything.
<v Speaker 1>Totally.
<v Speaker 2>And that is kind of messed up on her part.
<v Speaker 3>But, you know, if she was treated unfairly and not
<v Speaker 3>treated well, I do understand why she wanted.
<v Speaker 2>To complain at the same time.
<v Speaker 3>But now it's this ongoing feud that has been going
<v Speaker 3>on for days. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Days. Even to this morning where they replied.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And so, like, Kelly Clarkson versus this art shop, it's
<v Speaker 3>kind of weird and, like, I don't know. Kelly Clarkson,
<v Speaker 3>I do like her and she has an incredible talent.
<v Speaker 2>Her voice is amazing.
<v Speaker 3>If ever there was a first American Idol, it needed
<v Speaker 3>to be her because she's so great.
<v Speaker 1>For sure.
<v Speaker 3>I will say, she is sometimes, just the things she says,
<v Speaker 3>I feel like she's kind of lost touch a little bit.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, I'm sure. And I'm sure you reach a level
<v Speaker 1>of fame where you do.
<v Speaker 2>Lose touch with the world. And I feel like this
<v Speaker 2>is an example of that.
<v Speaker 1>Well, yeah. And it's kind of a, I'm sure she
<v Speaker 1>hasn't been told no in forever. She, these celebrities can
<v Speaker 1>get what they want. I mean, they really can. It's
<v Speaker 1>like only child syndrome where they finally are told no
<v Speaker 1>by their parents and they throw a fit because they're like,
<v Speaker 1>why can't I have what I want? And it's the
<v Speaker 1>same thing. Like, look at all these other midday show
<v Speaker 1>hosts that look so perfect on their shows. And I
<v Speaker 1>know she's so much more than that. I understand that.
<v Speaker 1>But I thought of right away, I thought of Ellen DeGeneres.
<v Speaker 1>For years, she was America's golden woman, and then it
<v Speaker 1>comes out that she's the devil. And I'm like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>but what else are these celebrities hiding? They could be really,
<v Speaker 1>really mean people.
<v Speaker 2>Kelly Clarkson is the new Ellen DeGeneres.
<v Speaker 1>This is not, from what I'm saying, from what I'm
<v Speaker 1>seeing and reading, I am kind of falling on the
<v Speaker 1>store's side.
<v Speaker 2>I am, too, a little bit.
<v Speaker 1>She's throwing a fit. She's kicking and screaming, red-headed, red-faced
<v Speaker 1>child because of this.
<v Speaker 3>They also claimed she spent five minutes in there, didn't
<v Speaker 3>get her way, so they couldn't even explain to her
<v Speaker 3>properly that, yes, you can technically buy this bird. It
<v Speaker 3>just has to be commissioned, and it's going to take
<v Speaker 3>a while. You can't walk out of the store with
<v Speaker 3>this one that we have.
<v Speaker 1>That's why it's $ 15, 000, because the artist has to make
<v Speaker 1>a new one. Where they said, if we sold you
<v Speaker 1>one like it, they go, we could sell you one
<v Speaker 1>like it for two grand. It's just not the same thing.
<v Speaker 1>Each one is one of one. So, crazy story of
<v Speaker 1>what's going on right now. It really is.
<v Speaker 2>It makes me look at Kelly Clarkson very, very differently.
<v Speaker 2>A little bit.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, exactly. Sorry, Kelly.
<v Speaker 2>Sorry, girl.
<v Speaker 3>All right, so one thing you need to know before
<v Speaker 3>you go into the office today, you know, living in Colorado,
<v Speaker 3>we have a lot of great spots to go hiking,
<v Speaker 3>and you are never too old to go hiking. Take
<v Speaker 3>it from Dale Greybeard Sanders... He just set the record
<v Speaker 3>as the oldest person to complete the Appalachian Trail, which
<v Speaker 3>is 2,200 miles long, going across, way across New York.
<v Speaker 2>It's insane.
<v Speaker 3>Guess how old this guy is. His name is Dale
<v Speaker 3>Graybeard Sanders. 87.
<v Speaker 2>Just throw 87. Close. He is 91 years old.
<v Speaker 1>Good Lord.
<v Speaker 3>And he just made this hike of over 2,000 miles long.
<v Speaker 2>He did it himself. And he was out there. He
<v Speaker 2>was hiking. He was doing it. And he said.
<v Speaker 3>I don't even feel old. I've been hiking my whole life.
<v Speaker 3>So just a reminder, keep your body moving. This guy's
<v Speaker 3>91 doing it.
<v Speaker 1>Can I go in an opposite direction of all this?
<v Speaker 1>Everybody's going to say that's the most impressive thing ever,
<v Speaker 1>and we love it so much. That's annoying. Why? Stop.
<v Speaker 1>Dale Greybeard, you're all being productive out there and making
<v Speaker 1>us normal. I don't want to hike 2,000 miles. I
<v Speaker 1>don't want to do it. Oh, fine.
<v Speaker 3>You don't have to hike 2,000 miles, but like do
<v Speaker 3>one or two every once in a while.
<v Speaker 1>You're making us normies look real bad out here. Us
<v Speaker 1>30 year olds out there that, I'm tired.
<v Speaker 2>Is he making you feel old, Josh?
<v Speaker 1>I skinned my knees doing a inflatable parkour jump. thing
<v Speaker 1>this weekend. Oh my goodness. I'm just old, Nina. I
<v Speaker 1>don't want to do it.
<v Speaker 2>Well, you need to move your body more. That's all
<v Speaker 2>I'm saying.
<v Speaker 1>All right, okay, I will. Well, this is an interesting story.
<v Speaker 1>There is a Colorado air traffic controller that has taken
<v Speaker 1>the world by storm now because of the commute that
<v Speaker 1>he takes to get to work. Oh. He is taking
<v Speaker 1>it to new heights. Literally, Jake Hutzler, who is 28
<v Speaker 1>years old, he straps a propeller on his back once
<v Speaker 1>a week and flies 20 minutes into Pueblo's airport tower
<v Speaker 1>to Every single week now, cruising about 35 miles an
<v Speaker 1>hour above open, empty fields before takeoff. He alerts the
<v Speaker 1>tower because he has to let them know, hey, by
<v Speaker 1>the way, I don't appear on radar. That's how small
<v Speaker 1>I am. I'm not flying a plane. But he likes
<v Speaker 1>to take his little hovercraft and fly above all the
<v Speaker 1>way down to Pueblo instead of driving every week.
<v Speaker 2>Who has a hovercraft? Wait, I have other questions.
<v Speaker 1>Jake Hutzler does. He obviously does.
<v Speaker 2>You're saying this like that's normal.
<v Speaker 1>So it's technically called paramotoring. So he discovered his love
<v Speaker 1>for paramotoring after watching a viral video of someone flying
<v Speaker 1>over a McDonald's. Why did they do that? For a burger.
<v Speaker 1>So he wanted to try doing this. He began training
<v Speaker 1>in 2021 and eventually became an instructor himself. He even
<v Speaker 1>proposed to his wife while doing a fake engine breakdown
<v Speaker 1>to lure her to a hidden ring. It's really, really
<v Speaker 1>cute that he's done this. But instead of just driving
<v Speaker 1>the hour and a half-ish that it would take to
<v Speaker 1>get to Pueblo's airport for him, he's like, you know what?
<v Speaker 1>I can paramotor and he just flies over there every
<v Speaker 1>week now. That's a pretty cool brag. I'm not going
<v Speaker 1>to lie, right?
<v Speaker 2>Honestly, that is a huge brag. So I think that's awesome.
<v Speaker 1>Good for him. Shout out to Jake. Good for you, buddy.
<v Speaker 2>Good for Jake. All right. Some unfortunate news locally here.
<v Speaker 3>We're just dealing with more of the droughts and they're
<v Speaker 3>taking a look at Dillon Reservoir.
<v Speaker 2>And it's not looking great over there in Dillon. It's
<v Speaker 2>really not.
<v Speaker 3>And that's unfortunately where Denver gets all of its water
<v Speaker 3>as well. So not great for us either.
<v Speaker 1>Good.
<v Speaker 3>They are looking at levels continuing to drop even more
<v Speaker 3>so than the 2002 drought by next spring. which that
<v Speaker 3>was a really big deal, and we're on track to
<v Speaker 3>beat that. That's not a record we want to beat,
<v Speaker 3>but unfortunately we are on track to beat that unless
<v Speaker 3>this winter we get a ton of snow, which would
<v Speaker 3>be a blessing, but I don't know if we're going.
<v Speaker 2>To get it.
<v Speaker 1>I've heard over and over again because of El Nino coming,
<v Speaker 1>we're supposed to have a heartier winter, a better winter.
<v Speaker 2>I hope so.
<v Speaker 1>We need it. But I've seen the pictures of Dylan.
<v Speaker 1>It's not good. I mean, you can walk almost to
<v Speaker 1>the middle, which is... That's really not good.
<v Speaker 2>It's so sad to see.
<v Speaker 3>And they're saying, you know, even if we do get
<v Speaker 3>a big snow this winter, that will help us in
<v Speaker 3>the meantime. But Dillon Reservoir, the fact that it has
<v Speaker 3>gotten as low as it has right now, it is
<v Speaker 3>going to take years to refill it back up.
<v Speaker 1>That's such a bummer.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it really is.
<v Speaker 1>Plus, hey, we need water. So that's really a bummer.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, please. And don't forget those water restrictions. Yeah, those
<v Speaker 2>are happening right now.
<v Speaker 1>Ugh.
<v Speaker 2>Thanks a lot.
<v Speaker 3>We're talking about this Kelly Clarkson art store fiasco, and
<v Speaker 3>we got a couple of texts coming in. On the
<v Speaker 3>text line, Joel said, simple solution to the Kelly Clarkson thing.
<v Speaker 3>Put up a sign that says this models for display
<v Speaker 3>purposes only. If you want to buy one, let us know.
<v Speaker 3>We'll contact the artist. This is a simple fix for
<v Speaker 3>the store.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I agree with that. I mean, you should make
<v Speaker 1>it as clear as possible. That would have avoided everything, right?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. No, 100 percent would have avoided all of it.
<v Speaker 3>So hopefully the store does that moving forward.
<v Speaker 1>I hope so, honestly. And then Debbie also kind of
<v Speaker 1>had a thing where she was like, look, it's a
<v Speaker 1>very expensive, exclusive art store. So you would assume that
<v Speaker 1>someone that walks in there can't afford it, which also
<v Speaker 1>kind of would. you know, have solved the whole problem,
<v Speaker 1>I guess. That, too. Just assume that everybody that goes
<v Speaker 1>in there knows that it's very expensive, you know, and
<v Speaker 1>then you can kind of maybe not make a fool
<v Speaker 1>of yourself a little bit.
<v Speaker 2>Also, hold on.
<v Speaker 3>I just want to say, like, what's so wrong with
<v Speaker 3>going into an expensive art store to, I don't know,
<v Speaker 3>look at the art?
<v Speaker 1>Oh, I don't think anything's wrong. Is that wrong? I
<v Speaker 1>personally don't think anything's wrong. I would love to do that, too.
<v Speaker 1>I've been to many different art places that you can
<v Speaker 1>buy the art, too.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, to admire and look at the art.
<v Speaker 3>And yes, buy it if that's possible, you're able, you
<v Speaker 3>can afford that. But I don't know, an art store,
<v Speaker 3>even if you are hoping to make a sale that day,
<v Speaker 3>I don't think there's anything wrong with people walking in
<v Speaker 3>there because you never know who they know.
<v Speaker 1>And admiring the art. Yeah, absolutely. They may know you
<v Speaker 1>or me. Come on now, right?
<v Speaker 2>Right, exactly.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, because we're so rich. But no, thank you so
<v Speaker 3>much for those texts. You can text us or call
<v Speaker 3>us anytime at 303-691-1MIX. But At the end of the day, Josh,
<v Speaker 3>I liked your quote you had earlier today, kind of
<v Speaker 3>saying that Kelly Clarkson may be the new Ellen DeGeneres.
<v Speaker 1>She might be. I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Behind closed doors. We just don't know who this person
<v Speaker 2>may be.
<v Speaker 1>They put on such a face of like, I'm the
<v Speaker 1>nicest person in the world. I give everything away. But
<v Speaker 1>then they get out in public. And I think Kelly's
<v Speaker 1>made a fool of herself. I really do. I do too.
<v Speaker 1>If anything, the entire thing, it was just a rude
<v Speaker 1>store employee. And that happens all the time. You're not special, Kelly. Like,
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 2>You're not. Yeah, honestly, truly.
<v Speaker 1>I really don't think we should put these celebrities on
<v Speaker 1>a pedestal.
<v Speaker 2>No, we shouldn't.
<v Speaker 1>We really don't.
<v Speaker 2>The Savannah Bananas.
<v Speaker 3>They have become quite the celebrities themselves, just doing amazing
<v Speaker 3>things on a baseball field that we never thought we
<v Speaker 3>would see. But they hosted their first ever Banana Bowl
<v Speaker 3>over the weekend for the Championship League title.
<v Speaker 2>They were going up against a team in Texas.
<v Speaker 3>And it was hosted in Washington, D.C., who, by the way,
<v Speaker 3>I just want to flex a little bit. My friend
<v Speaker 3>Ryan Smetzer got to host it in the arena, which
<v Speaker 3>is awesome.
<v Speaker 1>No way.
<v Speaker 2>Yes.
<v Speaker 1>That's awesome.
<v Speaker 3>So shout out to my friend Ryan. They also brought
<v Speaker 3>out all the celebrities. All the celebrities. I'm telling you, Pentatonix,
<v Speaker 3>they sang the national anthem.
<v Speaker 1>They sounded so good. So good.
<v Speaker 3>John Cena kicked it off during the opener with a
<v Speaker 3>police escort just hyping up the crowd on the field.
<v Speaker 3>They had performances from OAR, Andy Grammer, Lindsey Stirling, Kane Brown,
<v Speaker 3>and the cast of Dancing with the Stars were just
<v Speaker 3>performing because. And then if that wasn't enough, Josh, ninth inning,
<v Speaker 3>Jonas Brothers come out.
<v Speaker 2>Jonas Brothers. Yeah. How much did that cost them? Exactly.
<v Speaker 3>All these celebrities for the Savannah Banana Bowl that this
<v Speaker 3>is their first time ever hosting it.
<v Speaker 2>And this is going to be an annual thing.
<v Speaker 1>It has to be. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>But like I said, Savannah Bananas themselves are like celebrities now.
<v Speaker 2>So maybe they got a discount.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe. And I've seen them before. It's one of those
<v Speaker 1>truly unique events. Like I'm I'm a baseball purist, I'm
<v Speaker 1>not poo-pooing on them at all. I'm a baseball purist, I.
<v Speaker 2>Grew up playing it.
<v Speaker 1>It is something that you need to see at least once.
<v Speaker 1>It was the most interesting style of baseball I've ever seen.
<v Speaker 1>And it's definitely a really cool event, especially for families. Oh,
<v Speaker 1>for sure. It is the neatest thing to see if
<v Speaker 1>you bring your whole family.
<v Speaker 2>And here's the thing.
<v Speaker 3>Families, for those of you who missed out on this,
<v Speaker 3>missed out on them coming to Denver earlier this year,
<v Speaker 3>you can actually watch the Savannah Banana Bowl on Disney +.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, cool. So it's right there on Disney +. You
<v Speaker 2>could stream it today, watch it with the kids. Entertainment
<v Speaker 2>for days.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, I like that. That's nice. It's a little cheaper, too, probably.
<v Speaker 1>All right, Megan Fox. She has just recently gotten in
<v Speaker 1>the news because she is releasing an exclusive paid content page.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, really?
<v Speaker 1>It's not OnlyFans. It's not the OF. It's called subs.com,
<v Speaker 1>but she's saying that she will offer fans photos that
<v Speaker 1>they ask for. videos that they ask for and direct
<v Speaker 1>messaging access directly to her. She said, I'm interested to
<v Speaker 1>see what happens when women own all three. She has
<v Speaker 1>been photographed and videoed countless times everywhere. And then that's
<v Speaker 1>put out by paparazzi and things like that. And they
<v Speaker 1>could be unflattering pictures. They could be flattering pictures, whatever.
<v Speaker 1>She wants to own all three, she says, meaning I
<v Speaker 1>want to post my own photos. I want to post
<v Speaker 1>my own videos and I want to talk to you directly.
<v Speaker 1>I'm for that, actually, because then she'll get paid for it, too,
<v Speaker 1>instead of just being exposed.
<v Speaker 2>Good for her.
<v Speaker 1>I'm all cool with that.
<v Speaker 3>This is actually kind of a movement for a lot
<v Speaker 3>of women who do that type of work to be
<v Speaker 3>able to have their own stuff.
<v Speaker 1>And I think that's a brilliant idea, honestly. I think
<v Speaker 1>if you are a celeb like that, especially a notoriously
<v Speaker 1>kind of, you know, the sexy, beautiful woman like she
<v Speaker 1>has always been, I like that. She's probably been exposed
<v Speaker 1>more times than she's ever wanted to be, so I
<v Speaker 1>like that. It's funny. She's taking ownership. Exactly. And she
<v Speaker 1>said the— or she didn't say this, but the site— crashed
<v Speaker 1>on the first day that she launched it due to
<v Speaker 1>the high traffic.
<v Speaker 2>So we still love her.
<v Speaker 1>Megan Fox, oh my goodness. Transformers Megan Fox, I will
<v Speaker 1>love you forever. So I might need to get on
<v Speaker 1>this site.
<v Speaker 2>Killing the game. Oh my gosh. I'm telling your girlfriend.
<v Speaker 1>I just want to talk to her. I just want
<v Speaker 1>to talk to her. That's all. I just want to
<v Speaker 1>say hi.
<v Speaker 2>All right, your last piece for the Celebrity Quickie.
<v Speaker 3>Soulja Boy might be running for president in 2028.
<v Speaker 1>What year is this?
<v Speaker 2>I know.
<v Speaker 1>Soulja Boy?
<v Speaker 2>Soulja Boy.
<v Speaker 1>He going to crank it all the way to the top?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, pretty much. He put out a post.
<v Speaker 3>He said, a new chapter, a bigger vision, a commitment
<v Speaker 3>to creating opportunities for the next generation. So he is
<v Speaker 3>obviously gearing towards the younger vote there. But he says
<v Speaker 3>he's focused on four major issues, economic opportunity, criminal justice reform, education,
<v Speaker 3>and the future of technology and AI. But he hasn't
<v Speaker 3>officially put it in a bid right now. But here's
<v Speaker 3>just the one thing I'm going to say. Soulja Boy,
<v Speaker 3>I'm so sorry to crash down on your dreams right now, buddy.
<v Speaker 3>But if Kanye West couldn't do it, Soulja Boy, you're
<v Speaker 3>not going to do it.
<v Speaker 1>I don't even think people know that he's alive still.
<v Speaker 1>You're not going to do it, Soulja Boy. We've also
<v Speaker 1>already done the celeb thing. Please don't vote for us.
<v Speaker 2>Please, no, no, no.
<v Speaker 1>Your vote counts. Please don't write in Soulja Boy. Let's not.
<v Speaker 2>Let's not. Please, please, please.
<v Speaker 1>What is this world coming to? Exactly.
<v Speaker 3>Josh, a new article came out about wealth and the
<v Speaker 3>wealthiest people in America.
<v Speaker 2>And it's not you and I.
<v Speaker 1>No.
<v Speaker 2>So sorry.
<v Speaker 1>This article about wealth was essentially to tell us that
<v Speaker 1>we don't have any.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, like too bad.
<v Speaker 1>The new article shows the people that are richest right now,
<v Speaker 1>in America at least, are 75 years and older, Nita.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>It's one of those weird things that I just think like,
<v Speaker 1>the boomers were able to make so much money, and
<v Speaker 1>things were just generally cheaper. And I understand that's not
<v Speaker 1>a blanket statement for everybody. Like, I understand that there.
<v Speaker 3>There was a lot of hard work on the back
<v Speaker 3>end of things. You had to work for what you got,
<v Speaker 3>all of that.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, yes, yes.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, but that being said, the benefits were a lot bigger, right? Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, no, they really were, and it does feel like
<v Speaker 3>things were easier to come by back then.
<v Speaker 1>A little bit.
<v Speaker 3>Just to buy a house, to buy a car, just
<v Speaker 3>compared to what you were making money-wise back then versus now.
<v Speaker 2>The math ain't mathing. It's not adding up.
<v Speaker 1>It's mathing for them. The families that are 75 and
<v Speaker 1>up usually, their median net worth jumped a lot. It's
<v Speaker 1>now nearly... around $ 506, 000, which was up from just $ 367
<v Speaker 1>four years ago. That's it, four years ago. So three
<v Speaker 1>years ago, people aged 65 to 74 were usually the richest.
<v Speaker 1>And now those that are 35 and below, Nina, get this,
<v Speaker 1>reported a median net worth of $ 33, 000, which is a
<v Speaker 1>massive drop-off. It's a drop-off of almost 25% from $ 43, 000
<v Speaker 1>in 2022. So I don't know what's going on with us. Like,
<v Speaker 1>we're just not saving. But it's also showing, like, We
<v Speaker 1>are spending more money because everything else is so much
<v Speaker 1>more expensive. It is.
<v Speaker 3>It's so expensive, and I hate everything, and I don't
<v Speaker 3>even know what to do about it anymore. Planning for
<v Speaker 3>retirement is the hardest thing ever. My husband and I
<v Speaker 3>are trying to do that.
<v Speaker 1>Stressful. How are you trying to do that?
<v Speaker 2>Just by not having kids.
<v Speaker 1>You know what? Actually, hold up.
<v Speaker 2>It's going to save us a lot of money.
<v Speaker 1>You might be onto something there.
<v Speaker 3>Three things you need to know before you go into
<v Speaker 3>the office day like Aspen. They first came up with
<v Speaker 3>this experiment of saving snow. And a pile of snow
<v Speaker 3>from last winter has survived, 85% of it has, through
<v Speaker 3>like the hottest summer they've ever had.
<v Speaker 1>How?
<v Speaker 2>To get ready for the next ski season. Well, how?
<v Speaker 3>They teamed up with this Finnish company called Snow Secure,
<v Speaker 3>and they put these thermal blankets over a pile of
<v Speaker 3>snow to keep it cold and keep it from melting,
<v Speaker 3>and it worked. 85% of it survived, and they opened
<v Speaker 3>it up on October 1st. of this month, and this
<v Speaker 3>will help keep snow on the ski area, which is great.
<v Speaker 3>Less snow that they have to make, it's actual real
<v Speaker 3>snow from the season before.
<v Speaker 2>It's just kind of sad that.
<v Speaker 3>We're here now, that we have to save snow, but
<v Speaker 3>it is what it is, right?
<v Speaker 1>I mean, is it weird that all I thought about
<v Speaker 1>was how big is that blanket? Like, how massive of
<v Speaker 1>a blanket did you put down to save the slopes, essentially?
<v Speaker 3>And they did have this pretty big pile, so they
<v Speaker 3>had to have a couple of those blankets, I'm sure.
<v Speaker 1>Look, honestly, I think they were able to open before
<v Speaker 1>anybody else, right? Yeah, yeah. Because they don't have to
<v Speaker 1>make it, first of all.
<v Speaker 2>Right, exactly. It's just there. That's cool.
<v Speaker 1>Way good for them. So this is some good news, actually.
<v Speaker 1>More daily steps have been linked to better mental health,
<v Speaker 1>and this is especially true in teens. So we understand nowadays, especially, unfortunately,
<v Speaker 1>a lot of people do struggle with their mental health.
<v Speaker 1>It's a topic. that people are talking about more, which
<v Speaker 1>is a good thing, right? Nina, I think it should
<v Speaker 1>be talked about more. Absolutely. A new study has found
<v Speaker 1>that more than 5,500 12-year-olds found that teens who walk
<v Speaker 1>more each day report fewer mental health problems than years later.
<v Speaker 2>That's good.
<v Speaker 1>It's huge. This is a huge good news thing. There
<v Speaker 1>is actually no ceiling on benefits, so that's awesome. There's
<v Speaker 1>no cap to this at all. It's published by JAMA
<v Speaker 1>Network Open, and the research used Fitbit data rather than self-reporting.
<v Speaker 1>So this is more factually based, if you will. The
<v Speaker 1>higher step counts also correlated with thicker tissue in your
<v Speaker 1>brain regions that are the ones that control emotions. Okay.
<v Speaker 1>Which we know this, the more you exercise, the better
<v Speaker 1>you feel physically, but the better you can feel mentally.
<v Speaker 1>And I think that is huge, especially in today's world,
<v Speaker 1>you know? Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And especially with teenagers, there's just all sorts of hormones
<v Speaker 3>and things going.
<v Speaker 2>On in their brain that they can't control.
<v Speaker 3>But if you're doing something to help yourself mentally, even better.
<v Speaker 1>A little bit better. And there's a lot of things
<v Speaker 1>I understand. I, I'm not speaking ill about taking the
<v Speaker 1>necessary medication to, to feel okay. But that being said,
<v Speaker 1>When you can even help that or maybe even help
<v Speaker 1>yourself more and maybe not be medicated, exercise. Just getting
<v Speaker 1>those steps in. The average participant logged around 9,500 daily steps.
<v Speaker 1>So that's that goal. Always get your 10K in. Almost 10K, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>That's the biggest thing. Notably, the step count showed little
<v Speaker 1>connection to the school's grade. It just matters the most
<v Speaker 1>important 14. So the younger you are, I would say
<v Speaker 1>13 to 15, 16, things like that. They're like, the
<v Speaker 1>more you walk, play sports, get active, go outdoors, go outdoors. Yes.
<v Speaker 1>For the love of all things, go outdoors. The sun
<v Speaker 1>is good for you. The walking is good for you.
<v Speaker 2>And you don't need to run a 5K. We're just
<v Speaker 2>talking about walking.
<v Speaker 1>Easy.
<v Speaker 2>Just get out and do some walking.
<v Speaker 1>No, you don't have to be like a hardcore runner.
<v Speaker 1>No marathon here. Just get out there and experience the
<v Speaker 1>sunshine and just be a kid, right? Well, good.
<v Speaker 2>Go and do that. Take a walk, kids.
<v Speaker 3>All right, this past weekend, the Premier League's 13th annual
<v Speaker 3>Fan Fest was in Denver. This was the first time
<v Speaker 3>Denver was chosen as a host city, and soccer fans
<v Speaker 3>were so excited for this. It took place in Union Station.
<v Speaker 3>People were there at 3 a.m., 5 a.m. this past
<v Speaker 3>Saturday and Sunday to watch all of those games that
<v Speaker 3>were happening across the pond. And organizers, they were excited
<v Speaker 3>to bring it to Denver. They said since this festival
<v Speaker 3>launched in 2017, it's brought in more than 120,000 attendees.
<v Speaker 3>And so we were just happy to have it in Denver.
<v Speaker 1>Well, as it should. I mean, we understand that European football,
<v Speaker 1>soccer as we call it, it is by far the
<v Speaker 1>biggest sport in the world. I mean, we like to
<v Speaker 1>say football, American football is king everywhere. Not even close.
<v Speaker 1>Soccer rules the world and to get a little piece
<v Speaker 1>and taste of that here in Colorado, really, really neat.
<v Speaker 1>I like that.
<v Speaker 2>I do too.
<v Speaker 3>Josh, we were just talking about your girlfriend eats Pop-Tarts
<v Speaker 3>in the weirdest way possible. She doesn't like the filling,
<v Speaker 3>the frosting, any of the flavor. She only will eat
<v Speaker 3>the crust of a Pop-Tart.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, she doesn't like the good part, and I'm almost
<v Speaker 1>like this is grounds for a breakup. But yeah, essentially
<v Speaker 1>the thing is, I saw her eating it, and she
<v Speaker 1>peeled off all the sides, and she was nibbling on that,
<v Speaker 1>and I was like, oh, I would do that. I'll
<v Speaker 1>save the good part for the last part. I like that,
<v Speaker 1>the middle part, the gooey part. And then she was like, well,
<v Speaker 1>do you want this? I was like, well, don't you?
<v Speaker 1>She's like, no, I don't like that. And I was like... What? Okay.
<v Speaker 1>For sure, yeah. But that made me think, do I
<v Speaker 1>eat anything weird? And Nina, I'm not trying to just
<v Speaker 1>make myself look good. I don't know if I eat
<v Speaker 1>anything weird.
<v Speaker 3>So you're just a boring eater. The food is in
<v Speaker 3>front of you. You're trying to eat it, scarf it
<v Speaker 3>down as fast as you can.
<v Speaker 1>Normal? Yeah, I just eat it. I'm a human being.
<v Speaker 1>I eat like a normal human being. I use my
<v Speaker 1>fork and knife and all that stuff.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my goodness.
<v Speaker 1>But then you went on to almost defend her and
<v Speaker 1>be like, you eat a lot of things weird.
<v Speaker 3>I do eat a lot of foods very weirdly. And
<v Speaker 3>my husband points this out to me all the time.
<v Speaker 3>So mac and cheese, right? Let's talk like the boxed
<v Speaker 3>macaroni and cheese. How could you possibly eat that weirdly?
<v Speaker 2>Well, let me tell you, Josh.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, no.
<v Speaker 3>So I've done this since I was a kid, and
<v Speaker 3>I've always played with my food, and I think it's
<v Speaker 3>just part of that. So you're a kid eating mac
<v Speaker 3>and cheese. You have a fork to eat it, right, typically?
<v Speaker 3>Some people eat it with a spoon.
<v Speaker 1>Spoon, fork, whatever.
<v Speaker 3>I prefer a fork over a spoon, so I eat
<v Speaker 3>it with a fork, and I will get an individual
<v Speaker 3>noodle on each prong of the fork. And I will
<v Speaker 3>get four noodles onto the prong of the fork. And
<v Speaker 3>then sometimes I'll just eat my four noodles and call
<v Speaker 3>it a day. Or sometimes I will do a double stack.
<v Speaker 2>Of two noodles.
<v Speaker 1>On each floor. Oh, if you're feeling adventurous, double stack
<v Speaker 1>the noodles over here, Nina.
<v Speaker 2>I know, I know. And it's so weird.
<v Speaker 3>And I don't eat the whole, because it's going to
<v Speaker 3>take you three hours to eat a bowl of mac
<v Speaker 3>and cheese that way. I mean, I'll just do it
<v Speaker 3>once in a while. It's just a fun little thing
<v Speaker 3>once in a while while I'm eating my mac and
<v Speaker 3>cheese that I'll just do.
<v Speaker 1>It's childish.
<v Speaker 2>No, it's fun.
<v Speaker 1>Why is it fun? That is the weirdest thing. Is
<v Speaker 1>it a girl thing?
<v Speaker 3>Maybe it's a girl thing. We just play with our
<v Speaker 3>food a little bit more. Because your girlfriend does it.
<v Speaker 3>I know I have a lot of friends that play
<v Speaker 3>with their food.
<v Speaker 1>Let me tell you this. I have a sister who
<v Speaker 1>does this. Every single time she eats a pizza, okay?
<v Speaker 1>And there's pizzas you can get without the tomato sauce,
<v Speaker 1>but a traditional tomato sauce pizza, she will remove the
<v Speaker 1>cheese and the toppings, scrape off with a knife all
<v Speaker 1>of the tomato sauce, and then re-put the cheese and
<v Speaker 1>the toppings back onto the pizza and be like, it's
<v Speaker 1>just too saucy. I don't like the tomato sauce. And
<v Speaker 1>then she'll eat the pizza like a normal person.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, but after scraping off all the sauce.
<v Speaker 1>All of the sauce. I'm like, first of all, driest
<v Speaker 1>pizza ever. On top of that, just order a different
<v Speaker 1>pizza with no sauce. You can do that.
<v Speaker 2>Right.
<v Speaker 1>It's not against the rules.
<v Speaker 2>That is interesting to do it that way.
<v Speaker 1>But again, that's another girl, so I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>this is a girl thing or not.
<v Speaker 2>Is this a girl thing? We just play with our food?
<v Speaker 1>We just eat the food in front of us.
<v Speaker 2>That's so boring, though. You've got to play with your
<v Speaker 2>food a little bit.
<v Speaker 1>No, you don't. Plus, you can order it.
<v Speaker 2>Here's something....
<v Speaker 3>A lot of people, I'm going to make people cringe
<v Speaker 3>at this because anytime I tell people about this one,
<v Speaker 3>they're like, what is wrong with you?
<v Speaker 2>So, pickles, okay?
<v Speaker 1>To eat a pickle. How do you mess this up?
<v Speaker 3>I won't even start to describe how I eat a
<v Speaker 3>spear pickle. We'll talk about that another time. But how about,
<v Speaker 3>let's talk about like a full pickle, like a giant
<v Speaker 3>large pickle, right? Okay, so what I used to do
<v Speaker 3>when I was younger, we would go to the convenience store,
<v Speaker 3>you'd buy a pickle for a dollar, and then we
<v Speaker 3>would also grab a straw for your soda. And I
<v Speaker 3>would pierce the pickle with the straw all the way
<v Speaker 3>down through the pickle and then pull it on the
<v Speaker 3>other side, and it's like a slimy little worm. And
<v Speaker 3>it's the weirdest thing ever. And me and my cousins,
<v Speaker 3>me and my cousins, it's not just me, we all
<v Speaker 3>used to.
<v Speaker 2>Eat a pickle like that. It's the weirdest thing ever,
<v Speaker 2>I know.
<v Speaker 1>Like you'd eat the hollow pickle or you would take
<v Speaker 1>it out of the straw and eat the slimy, wormy pickle?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you take it out of the straw and then
<v Speaker 2>you eat the slimy, wormy pickle.
<v Speaker 1>You are the weirdest person I know. That's the weirdest
<v Speaker 1>thing I've ever heard.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my gosh, we're getting texts now. You can text
<v Speaker 2>us the weird food that you eat. 303-6911-MIX.
<v Speaker 3>Linda just texted us, I eat grape nuts dry or
<v Speaker 3>I put them on ice cream but never for breakfast
<v Speaker 3>for the ice cream.
<v Speaker 1>You need some fibrous ice cream? Keep you regular? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>why not?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, grape nuts. Gosh, I haven't heard of grape nuts
<v Speaker 2>in a while.
<v Speaker 1>I like the... It gives a little crunch, maybe.
<v Speaker 2>A little, but grape nuts, isn't that a cereal you typically.
<v Speaker 1>Eat for breakfast? Yeah, it's definitely a cereal.
<v Speaker 2>Not necessarily an ice cream topping, though. Interesting.
<v Speaker 1>No, but I like the crunch. I don't know. I
<v Speaker 1>just eat my food normal. I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, well, you need to play with your food some more.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Have some whimsy in your life. Do something.
<v Speaker 1>All right, I'll try.
