{"type":"rich","version":"1.0","title":"\"Accidental\" Death On Safari? | True Crime Today Podcast","description":"This week, a 67-year-old man was convicted of killing his wife during a safari in 2016 and cashing out on a hefty life insurance payout.\n\nAs reported by The Associated Press, Lawrence \"Larry\" Rudolph was convicted of first-degree murder and mail fraud for the death of his wife, Bianca Rudolph. It is reported that the trial lasted three weeks and the jury deliberated for a day and a half. Attorneys plan to appeal the decision.\n\nLori Milliron, Rudolph's girlfriend, was convicted of obstruction of a grand jury, accessory after the fact to murder, and perjury before a grand jury.\n\nBianca Rudolph died from a shotgun blast to the chest, but Larry claims she shot herself accidentally. Before leaving Zambia to return to the United States, she dropped the gun while packing it.\n\nAccording to prosecutors, the shot had to be fired from a distance of about 2 to 3 feet.\n\nInsurers who paid Larry nearly $5 million in life insurance confirmed that her death was accidental.\n\nRudolph's marriage was open, which meant they could have relationships with others. In her dental office, Bianca Rudolph worked as a hygienist, and she knew about her husband's relationship with Milliron. In an interview with The Associated Press, Larry said Milliron had to be fired because Bianca wanted more control over their finances.\n\nIn their opening statements, prosecutors claimed a witness heard Larry tell Milliron, \"I killed my f---king wife for you!\"\n\nBianca's friend contacted an FBI attaché office in South Africa to report her death as suspicious, CBS News reports. According to the friend, Larry Rudolph was in another relationship, and she found it strange that he cremated his wife immediately after her death. In addition, Bianca was Catholic and did not believe in cremation.\n\nThis case was an exceptional example of the U.S. Attorney's Office pulling together with our law enforcement partners to uncover the truth and seek justice for a victim who had no other voice, according to U.S. Attorney Cole Finegan.\n\nLarry Rudolph could face up to life in prison.\n\nIf you like Dark Side Of - Be sure to search and subscribe to \"Dark Side Of\" wherever you download podcasts!\n\nApple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dark-side-of-wikipedia-true-crime-dark-history/id1504280230?uo=4\n\nSpotify https://open.spotify.com/show/0GYshi6nJCf3O0aKEBTOPs\n\nStitcher http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/real-ghost-stories-online-2/dark-side-of-wikipedia-true-crime-disturbing-stories\n\niHeart https://www.iheart.com/podcast/270-Dark-Side-of-Wikipedia-Tru-60800715\n\nAmazon https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/565dc51b-d214-4fab-b38b-ae7c723cb79a/Dark-Side-of-Wikipedia-True-Crime-Dark-History\n\nGoogle Podcasts https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9hdWRpb2Jvb20uY29tL2NoYW5uZWxzLzUwMDEyNjAucnNz\n\nOr Search \"Dark Side Of\" for the best in True Crime ANYWHERE you get podcasts!\n\nSupport the show at http://www.darksidepod.com (http://www.darksidepod.com/)","author_name":"True Crime Today | Daily True Crime News & Interviews","author_url":"https://audioboom.com/channels/5001260-true-crime-today-daily-true-crime-news-interviews","provider_name":"Audioboom","provider_url":"https://audioboom.com","width":480,"height":95,"thumbnail_url":"https://audioboom.com/i/39488244/600x600/c","thumbnail_width":600,"thumbnail_height":600,"html":"<iframe width=\"100%\" height=\"95\" src=\"https://embeds.audioboom.com/posts/8132060/embed?v=202301\" style=\"background-color: transparent; display: block; padding: 0; width: 100%\" frameborder=\"0\" allowtransparency=\"allowtransparency\" scrolling=\"no\" title=\"Audioboom player\" allow=\"autoplay\" sandbox=\"allow-downloads allow-forms allow-popups allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-storage-access-by-user-activation allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation\"></iframe>"}
