{"type":"rich","version":"1.0","title":"What Would Dahmer Do? | True Crime Daily Brief","description":"A man in Louisiana has admitted to using the gay dating app Grindr to abduct a man, with the intent to kill and dismember him.\n\nJust recently, a 21-year-old man pleaded guilty to kidnapping and murdering a gay man he met on the dating app Grindr in 2020.\n\nThe Department of Justice claims that Chance Seneca, then 19 years old, kidnapped and attempted to murder a person. He then drove the victim to a remote home, where he threatened him with a gun and had him put on shackles.\n\nAccording to the Department of Justice, Seneca stated that he meant to murder and dismember the victim in order to \"satisfy his homicidal cravings,\" and that he intended to keep killing people until he was either apprehended or dead.\n\nThe 18-year-old victim's body was discovered in a bathtub with signs of strangulation on his neck and bone-deep cuts on his wrists. WAFB-TV reported that in addition to blunt force trauma to the skull, the victim had six stab wounds to the neck. He spent nearly a month in the hospital after falling into a coma for three days.\n\nThursday, September 29th, the Department of Justice stated that Seneca had pleaded guilty to one count of kidnapping. If convicted of kidnapping, a person faces a maximum term of life in prison. If the court determines that Seneca selected the victim because of his or her gender or sexual orientation, he may face more scrutiny.\n\nAs U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana Brandon B. Brown put it, \"The facts underlying the events that took place in this case are exceedingly unsettling.\"\n\nAfter that, Brown said \"The fact that the victims of this defendant's violent crimes are still alive is nothing short of amazing.
