Letby's defense asked the inquiry to pause. The request was refused. Warning letters have been sent to individuals facing significant criticism in the final report, which is scheduled for publication after Easter 2026.\n\nThe system that was supposed to protect those babies failed them. Whether the failure was enabling a killer or producing a wrongful conviction, the institutional breakdown is the same.
